I love a good Breakfast... So coming here to meet up with family was a good choice. Customer Service is on point here! Our waitress was so friendly and remembered my sister-in-law (she was here with her friends the week before). The kids breakfast meals were a perfect size. No child could ever say no to a yummy pancake (and these pancakes were yummy in their tummies!). My hubby really liked the country skillet with biscuits and gravy on the side. I ordered the homemade corned beef (it has prime rib) and hashbrowns, with eggs (and a side of gravy) along with pancakes (which I don't usually do pancakes because of the gluten, but I'm not going to lie, I took a few bites and enjoyed it). If you are in the area and craving a good breakfast, this is the place to go. For the price and service, I'd come back again.

The service is fast and friendly. The food is very good and the restraint was clean. Another diamond in the rough. My daughter says "There French toast is really good"

The food was fantastic, and the service was phenomenal. Our waitress was a doll and she took such good care of us. I came in with a craving for smothered cheese fries, and they did not disappoint. It's a cozy little diner with a lot of history behind it. I definitely recommend checking out this place!

In and out fast on a Saturday morning, it was all business once inside. Breakfast is often a fun memorable time. The service was quick, even while moderately busy. The menu was extensive. I had the biscuits and gravy, a side of bacon and rye toast. Standard biscuits and gravy. Nothing spectacular that made me faint in ecstasy. Rye toast wasn't very toasted and lacked butter. Bacon was bacon. Coffee was delicious. Good service but hardly verbal interaction between the staff occurred at all dining levels. Was sort of impersonal really. But I was in and out fast, yes yes, that was excellent. The prices were good and competitive. I like supporting local restaurants. Try it out. You'll be glad you did.

I have eaten there several times. Love their breakfast burrito's, and they are huge. They finally make a smaller one. Their pork chops and eggs are what my husband usually gets. Hash browns are excellent. Service is great also. Everyone is friendly. I can't say a thing bad about this place.

Great Breakfast. I love diner style breakfast. Eggs over easy, biscuits and gravy, meat, and white toast. Nothing complicated. They did it perfect. For those of you who like fancier breakfast like a burrito (which in my mind is a lunch food!) waffles, etc... they have you covered too.

  • Jessika K.

Enjoyed biscuits and gravy while my husband enjoyed homemade hash. Great friendly service. I don't expect much out breakfast food. I can't imagine ever being blown away by an egg, so I have to say the food was what is expected. Good food with flavor and large portions. But the service was head and shoulders above other places. And not just our server. Was a nice atmosphere with a great soda. We will be back!

This place continues to dominate the breakfast game. Stashed away in SE Denver's business district is the best Breakfast spot in the city. For pure foodie and price point the breakfast inn crushes it. Try the Dave Omelet or the Chicken Souvlaki and Eggs or any of there signature and skillets and wapow you get pancakes too with everything!!!!

I love breakfast places and the food here was pretty average. I would say you would be satisfied overall with your meal if you ate here. The reason this place gets 2 stars from me was due to the service. I went in here a few months back with some friends and had a horrible experience. The place that day seemed to be under staffed which makes things hard for the waiters/waitresses. However, the waitress we had just kept complaining about how they were so busy and were having a horrible day. They were saying this to every customer and we could hear! Also when they brought us our drinks the waitress shouted right by my ear to the table across from us asking them how their food was. The other patrons frowned and looked around because the situation was so awkward. I've never been to a restaurant that had waitresses do that. Maybe this was an isolated incident and maybe this waitress really was having a bad day. But when you are in a field where you are serving customers you need to present yourself and the restaurant well so that customers will come back. This unfortunately did not happen with me so I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Updating my review since it's been some time! We absolutely love this place. We come at least once a week :) the staff here are wonderful. Kudos to Ursula, pam, lauren, Shelly and all of the hard workers here. The food is great and so is the atmosphere! I just want to thank you all for your awesome customer service. And parker says Thanks for getting that train up n running again!

They burnt my toast and the meal got worse from there. The one positive thing this place had was a full parking lot but a lot of people on the day that I went had slow service. After 15 minutes, I finally got seated and another 10 minutes to get waited on. My order pancakes with sausage with a side of toast. The toast was burnt so badly that the second attempt it was barely warmed. Not impressed at all with the place as I ate my breakfast later that morning at home. Not worth your time to go.

Second time around and I had the corned beef with egg. I was a little surprised when I was offered a choice of homemade corned beef or canned. Needless to say, went with the homemade and it was incredible.

If you want super healthy food this might not be your place. But if you want a good stick to your ribs meal come here. Service is extremely quick and waitstaff is friendly and coffee is good. If you want to have an attitude and concentrate on your smart phone head on over to Snooze. Only real people needed here. I'll be back. Thanks.

This place is non nonsense, no gimmicks, no frills, just plane good. I happened here because I was having a tire repaired next door. When I went to checkin on yelp I saw that several friends had reviewed this place and it was well rated. They were not wrong. Think small town diner, where locals go every morning, they know everyone by name and by order, and everyone is happy to be there. Now put that square in the heart of Denver, and its a rare find. The service is overly friendly and will do anything they can to accommodate you. As other reviews have said, this place isn't snooze, and frankly in almost every way that's a good thing. Granted they don't have extraordinarily fancy pancakes. They do have friendly and professional service, great food, and every amenity you might need. Want sugar free syrup, substitute a biscut or pacake, oh and don't want to pay too much? This place has all of them. I ended up with a half order of buscuits and gravey, 2 eggs, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, and a cup of coffee all for $9. Everything was tasty, and I was in and out in roughly 20 minutes. If I lived closer, this would be my breakfast spot several times a week. This spot is worth checking out if you're anywhere near the area. If you're the kind of person that likes the comforts and hospitality usually found in rural america, then this place will be amazingly perfect for you in every way.

Don't let looks deceive you. This place is about as divey and unimpressive as it gets. HOWEVER, if you are looking for an incredible breakfast with a staff that knows many of their regulars by name, The Breakfast Inn is for you. I had the BI skillet loaded with all kinds of veggies, cheese and bacon, along with sourdough toast. The BF had a breakfast burrito smothered with spicy green chile and pancakes. Oh. My. God. I am not a pancake lover by any means. But I could not stop eating them. They were fluffy and creamy with a hint of vanilla. The green chile was flavorful with a great kick. And my skillet was piping hot, cheesy and delicious. One of the best breakfasts we have had in a long time. And although I have been catching flack for using my tag line in too many of my reviews, I'll say it again: I will definitely be back.

The breakfast burito has good spice to it. Chicken fried chicken skillet very good. Pancake tasted like cake mix , was not for me.

I love a greasy diner breakfast and this one does not disappoint! I thought the chili rellenos with eggs breakfast was the perfect indulgence! I am usually a huevos rancheros girl but this was just to yummy to resist. My son enjoyed the biscuits and gravy and raved about how creamy they were. Regardless, I have to say anything smothered in green chili is my recommendation for breakfast. I will definitely seek this spot out again if we are in the neighborhood.

Easily my favorite breakfast joint in the state, but they make a mean lunch and dinner as well. The BEST green chili I've ever had, hands down. Their breakfast burritos are life-affirming and probably my favorite menu item, although their specialty omelettes are pretty hard to beat. For as much as I love dining-in at the Breakfast Inn, sometimes I'm in a huge rush, and they offer a to-go only handheld breakfast burrito for $3.75 ready about five minutes after you call in. Watch for their specials - Chicken & Waffles and the Sticky Bun French Toast are both incredible. The food quality is top-notch and the staff is so friendly and accommodating, without exception, every time. A party of two should expect to spend about $25 pre-tip, and it'll be the best $25 you'll spend all week!

I have been going to the Breakfast Inn and Dinner Too every weekend to enjoy their food. They have great friendly service that is always fast! The food is fantastic and is eat just about anything on their menu. We never have to wait a long time and always find a good parking spot. Has been and will continue to be my go-to joint.

Although they serve everything, breakfast is by far the best type of food they have in this place. You won't be disappointed by the generous portions and the small town diner feel. It reminds me very much of the beloved greasy spoon that was in my small hometown. And I recently discovered that these guys make some amazing tater tots!! Wooooo hooooo!

This is how breakfast is supposed to be done! Food: A++ Atmosphere: a little noisy when crowded, but everyone is friendly and talking. The only thing better than the food is the service. Shelly ROCKS! She was exceptional and I never needed anything while dining there.

  • Jana S.

1x1x1 breakfast was delicious! Loves the fact my cup of coffee was always kept warm with refills. Friendliest waitress ever and she knew just about everybody's name and typical order.

This place is great! The food is always on point, and the service is A+ every single time. I think I've tried just about every single item on the menu and some daily specials. Get your hash browns loaded, you will not regret it!

  • Anita S.

I have been coming back for the last 2 years now. I love the rellenos and eggs. The pancakes also have a vanilla cream flavor that is out of this world. Wait staff is always attentive but this place can get busy. I appreciate that the wait staff always let's you know if the kitchen is backed up a bit just so you are prepared at waiting a tad longer. The menu is extensive and has something for everyone. I still want to try one of their yummy advertised shakes but still have yet to do so.

I'm fan of all things breakfast. I really am. Especially when the portions are the size of my head, taste like heaven and allows you to sit and drink as much coffee as you want. Over the weekend my car got serviced and a few things fixed, which took a little over 2 hours to do. Instead of sitting and waiting for them to do everything, the bf and I decided to get out and have a bite to eat. Breakfast Inn was suggested to us and it didn't disappoint. Here's why: 1. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're at your grandma's house. Greeted with smiles, yummy smells and tables full of coffee mugs and creamer for you. Atmosphere is cozy, relaxed and inviting :) 2. Service is fast, friendly and very helpful. 3. Food is amazing. I ordered the Greek Omlette, which came with sausage, peppers, feta cheese, onions and more. It came with a pita on the side and delicious sauce. MMMMM! The bf ordered a skillet that came with a heaping pile of pancakes and flavored syrup. SO good! 4. Prices were amazing for what you got! Our bill came to a whopping $17! I will most definitely return if in the area :)

HOLY SHIZER!!!!!! I was craving some pancakes and read a review about this place so decided to come and check it out, GREATEST PANCAKES I HAVE EVER HAD. Better than my momma's for sure!!! (Don't tell her I said that) Waitress was excellent, food came out quick and WOW WHAT AN EFFING PANCAKE!

BISCUITS AND GRAVY!!! Light, flaky, seasoned perfect..,comin back for more soon! Eggs and hash browns were good, friendly diner experience, simple decore, but BISCUITS AND GRAVY SERIOUSLY AWESOME!

My wife and I have made this our weekly breakfast splurge-fest. The coffee is something that we both look forward too everytime that we come here. The service is great, and friendly. They do get really busy at times, but we feel that the staff does a great job still. Overall, excellent breakfast, at a relatively good price.

This place is awesome, i dunno why I've never been here its delicious. Sure it looks a little older on the outside but definitely part of its charm, it's been there for a long time and i can see why. The food is amazing and comes out in a timely manner. The staff is really friendly and they check in on you often. Ill be back !!!

Our office called and ordered breakfast from here and the woman taking the order was really rude and made it seem like we were inconveniencing her for making an order. We ordered several burritos and asked for mine to be vegan, meaning no cheese, egg, or meat. I specifically asked for vegetarian green chili. The delivery was prompt for such a large order, but when I opened my box I was upset to see that they had smothered the burrito with PORK green chili. We called them back and asked for a correct replacement to be sent over, reiterating what was not to be on the burrito. This time the green chili was correct, but it was smothered in cheese though we asked for none. We tried to call back a third time and they did not pick up the phone. I would not recommend Breakfast Inn for a breakfast burrito. There are much better places in the area that will get your order correct.

  • Shawnee M.

So I tried ordering for myself off of the breakfast menu, and what really upset me is that their delivery minimum is 25$ excluding tax. I'm also 100 pounds and alone. Why would I ever order that much food? Especially off of the breakfast menu? Most likely will never order from here for this reason.

Best service and breakfast in Colorado! Prices can't be beat but feeling like family is the real reason we go once a month for our only breakfast out. So many choices everyone in your group is sure to find something the'll like. Get there!

I really wanted to like this place because it seems like a place my parental units would adore but alas, I was not a fan. I would have never known about this place if it weren't for Living Social and a $10 for $20 deal they offered for the Breakfast Inn and Dinner Too. This is on the sketchier side of Evans and there's nothing too special about the outward appearance so it's pretty easy to pass by. But it was bumping on a Saturday morning-we walked in and were sat right away. The place is bare and no frills and looks a little unfinished so if you're looking for ambiance, forget about this joint. There were a lot of old timers having their breakfast and it seemed like a good bit of them were regulars since they were on a first name basis with the wait staff. Our server was prompt and pretty mute. She stopped by to get my coffee, refill, see how things were and thats it. The coffee is strong so props to them for that because nothing is worse than crappy breakfast coffee.....well I thought so at least. They have what seems to be an endless breakfast menu and while I usually go for Eggs Benedict, it didn't seem like a proper meal for this place (too fancy). I made a split decision and ordered the Huevos Rancheros and it was slop, pure slop. I ordered it spicy and while it packed a punch, it sucked. It was flavorless and looked like dog vomit but I ate it regardless since I'm frugal and hungry like that. The potatoes that were served with it were undercooked and without seasoning so yeaaaaah, nasty. Like I said, I really wanted to like this place and had high hopes it would be my new breakfast spot to go to but looks like I gotta keep hunting for the special spot.

  • Izzy S.

Ordered delivery for lunch... not my favourite place. The eggs were fine, hashbrowns overly greasy, fries tasted stale and not a fan of old cottage cheese that was clumped together in a way cottage cheese normally is not. Might try another day and get something different. Hopefully it could be better.

Our favorite diner ever! Great food, great service! Especially terrific green chile, eggs and waffles. Fun little model train running through the restaurant. Loud, but that's diner eating. Our go to eatery before hiking.

Good eating in a clean and friendly place . The only bad thing is getting in and out the parking lot.

    (4)
  • Jennifer B.

Super friendly staff and great food. Make sure to bring your appetite because the portions are huge. The you get bang for your buck. They also deliver within a 3 mile radius for a small fee between 8a-2p. Try the Breakfast Burrito with the spicy green chile.

    (5)
  • Jaime T.

The breakfast is amazing, even when delivered. My eggs are always perfect and the bacon is amazing. I'm not a fan of the steak because it's overdone even when ordered medium rare. But the breakfast and burgers will keep us ordering.

  • Brady K.

Everything my gluttonous self wants in a breakfast joint is here. Decor is nothing special, but the place packs it in during the mornings and really this place is here for one purpose. Its not to eat breakfast....its to make love to breakfast. Because when you order breakfast here, you get the pancakes, the toast, the heaping potatoes, the rib eye, etc, etc. Basically, this is all things breakfast. Servers here, hustle too and are really polite.

  • Travis J.

I have to say this place has now become the favorite breakfast joint for the GF and I. The specials have been great and with so many fallback options if one doesn't happen to sound good, you just can't go wrong here.

  • Caleb S.

About as good as it gets. Best breakfast burrito I've ever had, good coffee, good atmosphere, just great all around. Only complaint is that there was no sausage in the biscuits and gravy and one time the server wasn't the greatest. If it wasn't for those two small things, I'd give it a perfect rating.

  • Jessica R.

This is our favorite breakfast spot. The food is delicious, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a cozy breakfast & lunch cafe. This is definitely a family restaurant, so children are acceptable. The service is quick. Pat is an amazing waitress, competent, quick, and personable. The chicken Swiss & avocado sandwich is amazing! The breakfast croissant sandwich is great. The food doesn't taste greasy and they don't skimp on the chicken. The prices are affordable for great food. Our waitress remembered us the next time we went in and the staff is very friendly. I wish they had booths, they only have tables, but that is my only complaint.

  • Sam K.

Pretty good breakfast- lunch isn't too bad either- I love the breakfast burritos with chili (spicy combo) it's not too bad of a deal- chili could be a little more whole ( less watery more substance) but it's still pretty good for the cost. Service isn't too bad granted who has great service anymore - lot of parking

  • Sarah B.

"Blah" sums up this place. My food was bland and not made how I ordered it. The menu also wasn't accurate as my meal came with weird things not written on the menu. It was smothered in green chili and tasteless pork that didn't seem like real meat. My whole meal was bland. My boyfriend's dinner came with a tiny spoonful of mashed potatoes for his side. Really? Our waitress was nice but she was also crotchety and acted like she was really busy. There were only three other tables occupied. We don't plan to return.

    (2)
  • Paul R.

I ordered the biscuits and gravy some hash browns. The biscuits and gravy were cold I had to ask the wait staff to nuke it. The gravy tasted as though it was some prefab caned junk and I could not tell weather the sausage was made from some form of meat filler.

  • Kaity W.

My boyfriend and I stumbled across this place a few months back, and it's great. The servers are always very nice (also a little mouthy in that old diner sort of way) and they are on point with their coffee refills. The food is pretty good (nothing super exceptional, but good). It's always pretty busy when we go, so they must be doing something right. The only thing im not a fan of is how loud it is. Its not loud because it's busy, its loud because it has the acoustics of a cave basically, very amplified. But other than that, this place is great.

So, I had a situation with my food here yesterday. It's the only meal my family and I had yesterday and unfortunately, we got really sick. I called and spoke to the manager Ernie who is always full of smiles and he said he did some research (talk to regulars, checked food temps, etc.) and all is good on their end. Who knows what happened. I don't but what I can appreciate is his call back and his concern for our well being. You really can't find that too many places so I'll be back and maybe, just maybe my rating will return to the 5 stars. Thanks for caring Ernie :-)

  • Edward A.

Great place for a cheep breakfast. Good pancakes but they use too much vanilla. Prices are unbelivable. Eggs, sausage, bacon and pancakes for 6.95. Better than most coffee with fast and free refills. Really no reason to go to vi or Dennys with this place around.

  • Chrissie B.

I usually come here for breakfast which is always great but recently tried out dinner and it was great diner food! The menu is a little overwhelming but so far everything I've had is great! The portions are massive and the entrees are inexpensive so it's great value. The staff is always friendly but I am knocking off one star because service is always slow- last time I was there our group of 4 had finished the coffee our busboy brought us before our waitress even came to the table. Also- you can sometimes find coupons for this place on the back of your Safeway receipts.

Now my kid is slightly obsessed with trains. I took my 5 year old daughter to breakfast here last weekend and we were sat at a smallish table in the dining room to the right of the door as you walk in. There is a train running willy-nilly all along a track that completely circumnavigates the whole room! My daughter was fully engrossed in watching the train right up until her food arrived. Then she was all about the fantastic food. The portions are generous, the ingredients taste fresh (no canned mushrooms) and the waitstaff is just the right mixture of professional and friendly. My only real complaints were that we ordered crisp bacon and it really was not crisp and the waitress could have been a bit more attentive with the coffee refills. Those two things docked one star. *Make sure you check out their shakes! We ordered two for the road and they were amazing! I recommend the Cherry Vanilla but the child says the Reese's Peanut butter is WAY better.

Wowzers! Talk about big portions!!! On the outside.. seems like an 80s movie where truckers stop by to hang out before a long drive or when a guy on the "lamb" is trying to get some food fleeing from state to state. On the inside, its like xmas everyday! Great environment with a train that runs around the whole room. All the condiments on the table like a usual diner and waitress running around taking orders. Waitress was pretty nice, she was super busy since it seems like she's the only one taking orders. So my friend and i had to wait a while before we can actually order, but she was able to get our drink orders pretty quickly (probably to keep us committed to staying from the long wait!). Once the food came out... soooo freakin big and delicious! I got the steak and eggs... it came with a side of hash browns, and biscut and gravy. HUGE portions! The biscut and gravey could be a meal on its own and is pretty good! Not sure when i'll be back in Denver, but when I do i'll have to stop by again!

I really was surprised! This is more of a locals place to go, but it's great for breakfast and I was there for lunch once too. They are fair in the prices, for the homestyle cooking! Good Americna food, they have a lot to choose from!

Drove past this place for years but decided to try is out this weekend and we're glad we did! First of all, yes this place could use some serious curb appeal and the decor inside is a yawn fest. However, once you get your food, you'll forget where you're at and think you've gone to hog heaven! The coffee here is one of the best you'll find at a breakfast joint...it's pretty strong and they have flavored creamer which is always a pleasant surprise. The food is plentiful and it's delicious! The potatoes are pretty authentic, the sausage patty was nice and big, and the eggs were cooked to order. My only real complaint is that my service sucked. Yes, it was busy but we didn't see our waitress for the last 15 minutes and had to get another waiter to bring us a box. That just left a bad taste in my mouth before we left, otherwise, I would've given this place 5 stars for a great breakfast joint.

Since our move to South east Denver, I have been trying the restaurants in the area.. The Wife and I have experienced this place 3 times so far. I have tried different items each time.. 1. Breakfast, (Biscuits and Gravy, and omelet),for the wife.. Biscuits good and gravy plentiful, omelet was huge and have lots of filling... Great Price lots of good food. 2. I had the Ribeye Steak, wife had Bowl of Potato Soup. Steak cooked great and very flavorful, however the baked potato was very small ( size of a tennis ball), Wife's Potato soup was not as hot as it should have been but good flavor.. 3. Tonight, I had the Burrito Plate with Green Chili (spicy), Wife had the Meatball Sandwich and Potato Salad. My 2 Beef/Bean Burritos were huge and chili was surprisingly good.. I did not expect it to be as good as it was.. NICE... Meatballs on the sandwich were just right as per size and flavor... The eye opener was the Wife's Potato Salad... OMG It was delish.. Crazy good... I will say this place is great. Pam our waitress was knowledgeable and personable. She was our Waitress through our Breakfast Inn Journey.. We will be regulars as it is a great place for food....

I love, love, love their homestyle corned beef hash! The pancakes are pretty yummy, too. Good food, lots of parking, and friendly service = Awesome Possum! It's also family owned and operated which is even more reason to eat here. It gets really busy on Sundays so I suggest you try to beat the church crowd and get in early. The seating is pretty roomy so you're still comfortable even when it's crowded. They also have a cool choo choo train that goes around the room.

3 words. Country. Fried. Skillet. You thought the country fried steak is yummy? Their country fried skillet has hash brown + the country fried chicken on top + green chili + 2 eggs. Oh but that's not it, you get a side of pancake, toast or biscuit with country gravy. I feel like I died and gone to heaven every time they set this loveliness on my table. 3 more words? Hand. Held. Burrito. Their $3 hand held burritos are HUGE! I usually split mine in two mornings. I used to stop by the McDonald's on the way to work and get a sausage mcmuffin, but things has changed ever since I discovered Breakfast Inn's hand held burritos. I like the decor of the diner... old diner feel, tons of usual customers, friendly staff. Can't say their services are the best, but they do try. They're just so busy, especially on the weekends. I especially love the little train tracks by the ceiling on the right dining room. Can't say it's the best place ever, but I do love this neighborhood diner. I'm a fan!

My Mom insisted that we go to this place. I had been there once before and really disliked it, but since she wanted to go there and see how it was, off we went. This is really a no frills kind of place. As basic as it gets, so much so that I was afraid to try most of what was on the menu. While the breakfast was edible and I did not get sick, it was very sloppy. If you dig a greasy spoon with a surly waitress, this is the place for you. Prices are WAY too high for slop in a hopelessly grim atmosphere. Will never be back.

The initial country charm of the restaurant's decor set the tone for a meal that tasted more home cooked than an actual home cooked meal! The restaurant was crazy busy, but we were seated immediately and were provided with friendly, attentive service. Even though the portions were HUGE, I ate every bite of my huevos rancheros because it was so tasty. The accompanying side of potatoes was unique in that it was a cross between crispy, shredded hash browns and fluffy mashed potatoes. Definite do-over for my next breakfast or brunch expenditure.

I have to say the only thing I order here is the hand held burritos to go. I have been ordering them for years and they used to be soooo good. Now it seems as though they fill them with way too many potatoes. About midway through they get pretty dry. Come on guys. Where's all the green chili. All I can say is less potato and more of the good stuff. I would even pay a little extra for the flavor there used to be. In all fairness the sit down breakfast looks pretty good. The hand helds have always been good and quick for me because of work hours. Please bring the old hand helds back. They were the best!!!

I had a Groupon deal for this place or I never would have noticed it while driving through the area. I'm glad I tried it! Certainly nothing fancy here, but it's just what you'd expect from a diner style home cooking place. My husband LOVED his steak and hash browns and I enjoyed my omelet and coffee as well. The hash browns are more like Southern fried potatoes than typical hash browns, which suited him just fine since we happen to be from the South. So you might want to take this review with a grain of salt...we are used to the type of food that other reviewers complained about here! :) Very satisfied customers and we'll be back! Updated April 2013 - we returned last week and enjoyed turkey sandwiches, homemade chips, and yummy high calorie breakfast items. It's true that this place is filled with older folks, but to me that just adds to the charm. If I wanted a loud and crazy atmosphere filled with "fun" people, I'd go to a bar instead! When you are in the mood to enjoy a cup of coffee, good diner food, and a friendly waitress, give this large and comfortable restaurant a try.

So my roommate and I decided to go out for brunch this past weekend. We passed by (the new) Snooze on Colorado & 7th, but then saw the line was retarded long. People were just milling outside like they weren't actually hungry but instead racking up cred points by loitering. Bump that. We were headed south so a quick hit on the google maps search (no Yelp app for the pre yet...) gave us Breakfast Inn. Man, this place impressed us. The food is definitely good breakfast fare. Not a single thing on my plate disappointed. I got a 11 oz ribeye steak, 2 eggs over easy, a hearty portion of hash browns (they're chunks here, not the thin strips), 2 biscuits, and gravy. All for $12. Now that's pretty awesome. The entire joint is unassuming. The front sign merely says "BREAKFAST LUNCH DINNER". There's nothing fancy or hip about the decor but the place is packed. That immediately should tell you good things. I plan on coming back here soon. It was good brunch for sure!

Please avoid this place if you can. Our waitress, Ursula, was spacey, distant and rude. I had to ask her four times for a glass of orange juice to which she would respond things like "I know!" and "It's coming!". After everyone seated around us got their food, regardless of when they had come in, ours finally arrived and was cold. The eggs in my Benedict were the only thing cooked properly. When I told our server, she replied "I don't understand, I took it right out of the window, it should be fine." and then, "So, what? You want a new one or something?" I asked to order something new and she walked away with my plate. It took nearly 20mins to get the new dish and it was good, not great. (Two eggs and a basket of Waffle fries) I love to support local businesses, but this is one I'd like to see closed. It's dirty, poorly attended to and cares nothing for any patron who isn't a "regular". Ick.

Popped in today to get a quick bite while my tire was being replaced. They seemed very busy; low on waitstaff and the ones that were there appeared harried. I had to wait about fifteen minutes for someone to take my order, though I was seated promptly. My waitress, when she arrived, was actually extremely nice and apologetic, too, for the delay. I ordered my standard (I like to eat big breakfasts!), scrambled eggs, sausage links, toast, hashed browns and a side of pancakes, with coffee and orange juice. I was most impressed with the pancakes and least impressed with the coffee. Personally I don't like un-chilled packaged creamers --- I prefer cold cream in a container for my coffee. The other stuff is too synthetic and weird tasting and I never enjoy it. But back to those pancakes. They appeared regular, I guess, but I don't know if it was the batter or the syrup...but they TASTED delish and I mean DELISH. I ended up eating those two pancakes and a little bit of this and that from the rest, and left very satisfied and happy. I'll definitely be back to try their fare again. My sense is that the staffing issue today was most likely anomalous.

Great greasy spoon! This place is a little off the beat and path in Denver, but once we got there we were seated quickly and drinking coffee within seconds. Great breakfast spot. Good hashbrowns and the egg white omelet was perfect. Portions are large so make sure you go hungry. Thanks Yelp, another spot found thru you!

Thank you yelpers - - pleasantly surprised - - would never have dropped in on this place w/out yelp endorsement! I had the basic brkfst - can't go wrong with that, right? right! great coffee, too. Hubs had the skillet which was HUGE! he finished the whole thing and said it was pretty good! Super friendly and attentive service which is great when you're sucking down your AM coffee!

Never been for dinner, just breakfast. I thought the pancakes were great and the eggs were just right. I also must give a nod to their breakfast burritos- Yummy! I love the selection and that you can get a large or small burrito. Generally a pretty spot... I probably should make a point of trying dinner there sometime!

One word to describe the service and food: SLOPPY. I could've made my own grease at home and scoop it up with a stale piece of toast if I wanted. Our waitress was really short with us and didn't offer up any suggestions. Way to make your customers feel welcomed. If it hadn't been for a Living Social deal, I seriously doubt we would've even come. I had the sausage croissant with eggs. Like I said, greasy all over the place. The sandwich slid all the way around and the eggs didn't have any seasoning on it. The waitress would pass by us and give a quick glance then run off. Many of the patrons were of the older crowd but that didn't stop us. However, it just seemed that they were helped faster and more frequently. I will not come back nor recommend this place to anyone. If you want a place that is an old run down restaurant with a waitstaff that doesn't care about its patrons, this is your place. Otherwise, you're better off going to Burger King for a much better meal at half the cost!

I've only experienced the breakfast part of the day here and not yet the dinner, but so far I'm a fan. After driving by the place a thousand times over the years, it took a Groupon deal to get me in the door, but I've been back since because I liked the place so much. You get a ton of food here! I prefer the House omelette because it has a bunch of ingredients that I like all piled into one, and the green chile on top is a nice touch. Pancakes are plain but good, and you get a large heap of taters too. The sausage patties recommended by our waitress are pretty tasty, and at some point I'll have to get the gyros to see how those are. Some places do one meal better than others, so I guess to be fair I should try lunch or dinner too, hence the name. This looks like a real hole in the wall, but as is often the case, the food's pretty good. Oh, and bonus points for the train and the root beer barrels. Solid.

So I'm giving 4 stars for the atmosphere and the service. Our waitress was so nice, helpful, and great with the refills on coffee and water. The atmosphere is small town which is something that is often missing in a big city. There is a cute little train that runs around the top of the restaurant. I really enjoyed the experience. The food was probably more 3 or 3.5 stars. The breakfast burrito with green chile was good but a little dry on the inside....they should probably put a scoop of the chile on the inside before they roll it up. We asked for some green chile on the side so that fixed that problem. The hash browns are a little dry and they remind me of the inside of a baked potato that has been browned on a griddle or something. Not the crispy kind if that's what you like. The biscuits and gravy were SUPER good and so were the sausage patties. All in all a great experience and I will go back. Plus it is nice to support the local businesses rather than just going to a chain breakfast place!!

This place has the worst service I ordered my food to be delivered at 10:16am at 10:50 I called to find out where my order was and they said another 20mins I called at 11:16 and they said the driver will be there any minute I called at 11:30 and the guy said they are JUST NOW making my order. I am five months pregnant and by this time I canceled my order. I will never order or go to this place the customer service was even horrible they guy had an attitude and could care less that he was lying the whole time and I was waiting for my food. Do yourself a favor and don't go to this place.

This place is fantastic! For a city restaurant they still have the small town hospitality. Amazing breakfast, and the best green chili I've ever had! I would suggest this place to anyone.

I've been going here for ten years, and the food is back to where it used to be, which is excellent. The breakfast burrito is delicious, particularly with bacon and spicy green chili, and the new handheld option to take away for $3 is a steal. Ursula is a great waitress, and the remodel of the inside and addition of the porch were upgrades. All in all a solid breakfast option with nice staff.

While there is no doubt that the breakfast burrito's are tasty in the morning and are exceptionally inexpensive, the service that I was received was so aweful. We called in our order on the 23 of September. My boyfriend ordered for us, right next to me as I was driving over there as we were headed out for a fun day of hiking. He ordered his bacon hand held breakfast burrito and ordered a breakfast burrito with no meat for his 'vegitarian girlfriend.' Once we got to the Diner, we waited about 10 minutes for our burritos. When we got back in the car, I opened mine up and there was clearly a meaty looking substance oozing out of the burrito. So my boyfriend ran the burrito back in, and told them again that the burrito needed to be meat free. He then came out to eat his burrito in the car while I went inside to get my burrito after parking. When I came inside, I didn't wait long at all to get my new burrito, which was great. The un-great thing was that it came handed to me by an angry Bronco's jersey wearer who decided to very aggressively tell me that you have to say 'vegitarean' when ordering burritos from them if we wanted no meat. (which we did) (We also said that it needed to be meat free) According to angry Bronco's jersey wearer, "meat free" does not mean MEAT FREE. Which I stated makes no sense, and then he followed me to the exit very aggressively telling me that it does make sense and that 'meat free' still contains the unvegitarian green chile. I have not eaten meat in 8 years, and in all of that time, when I state that I want no meat in something, that means that there will be no meat in it. So word of the wise Veggy's- This place you need to be super specific at, or you'll get aggressively spoken to in the front of the entire restaraunt by a man in a Bronco's jersey who does not know that meat free, means no meat. -As for me, I'm going to Sam's- their burritos are always delicious, made correctly and there service has always been amazing!

Food was okay. I had biscuits and gravy. They had a strong buttery flavor to them and I wasn't sure if I really liked them or didn't like them at all... so I kept eating them and they satisfied me. My husband and daughter both enjoyed their breakfasts. They servers seemed really busy, but our server and the person who greeted us when we walked in were very friendly. It seemed like most of the people there were regulars and were greeted by name. My biggest issue with this place was that it was dirty looking. All the coffee mugs on our table were chipped and cracked and one even had lipstick on it. The place just had a old dirty feel to it. That being said, I would go back and try it again.

A typical breakfast place with a bit of good character. The Breakfast Inn was introduced to me as other Sunday morning diners have waits and long lines. Not the Inn, you're in and seated right away. The food is good, not out of this world, but just plain good eating. The menu covers everything you may want. Nothing really missing on the menu. I was given a hug by our waitress after giving her the tip upon paying our bill. That's love. As a bonus, there is a train that circles the dining room area above in the ceiling.

I made the mistake of eating here yesterday, I will not make it again. The place is kind of grungy, just does not feel clean. I am a diabetic & my sugar was low so I went forward. They tried to seat me @ a really bad table, when I demurred, they gave me attitude. I ordered a very standard breakfast eggs bacon hash browns & toast. The service was glacial & rude. It took almost 15 minutes for her to get to my table, then another 45 min for my food to arrive. When it did, my order was wrong. When I got it my eggs were cold & the bacon was too. The toast & bacon were limp. I asked if I could get a fresh meal, I was again given attitude. My coffee cup was dry 95% of he time. The food was awful & the service worse. When I got my cheque I went into shock. I was charged over $13 for this meal. I asked to review my cheque, the manager literally pushed me out into the parking lot. I was already leaving anyway. The manager was violent barely intelligible when he spoke, & profane. There are 10,000 other places to eat simple in metro Denver, go to any one of them.

Pretty tasty breakfast burrito. I would never thought to go here but I was getting my tire fixed next door and had time to kill. The place was packed which I took as a good sign. But packed also meant very loud and hot. And it took over 30 minutes to get the baby breakfast burrito I ordered.

I am a breakfast person and this place has great breakfast selections. Biscuits and gravy are very good. Omelets are great. Green chili, very tasty. They also have really good homemade baked items. The German chocolate cake is wonderful. I usually go on Sunday morning and have always been seated promptly. Waitresses are friendly as is the front desk staff. This is not one of the trendy breakfast places in Denver, but is an excellent choice if you want good food, good service and good prices.

This place has awesome breakfast, especially after a good night drinking. I live pretty close to this place and its nice to go to a place familiar that doesn't have a wait ever. Its usually fairly busy but I have never had to wait. The staff are very friendly and know the menu and specials. 16oz country fried steak is huge. It should be a competition to eat it all and it comes with 2 pancakes, hash browns and 2 eggs. Good luck! My first stop when in need of some good recovery food.

Love the food here! I come here relatively often and have yet to have a bad experience. Great breakfast foods, I'm particularly fond of the strawberry waffles. For lunch/dinner - they have the best chili burger in town, I highly recommend the fajita burrito, and the steaks are always done well. Great value for the amount of food you get as well. The ambiance is simple, but nice and family friendly. It reminds me of some of the diners from my hometown in Idaho with the friendly staff and great food at great prices. Highly recommended...

I love this place. I take all my out of town visitors here - and if they're here more than one night, we usually go to this place at least twice! The breakfasts there are exactly what you want, it's affordable, and the staff is always very friendly.

A great go-to breakfast diner if you are in southeast Denver--and I mean that kinda shady area near Evans between Colorado and Monaco. I am a big fan of the breakfast burrito with chorizo--I appreciate that you can order a baby breakfast burrito, which is still the size of a plate. Service is fine, typical of a diner, reminds me of the diner in my hometown. This is a great place to go with friends if everyone wants something different; omelets, pancakes, etc. are all good. Avoid the bagel & lox platter--not too fresh-looking, and the bagel didn't even come toasted when my friend ordered it. If you are looking for the kind of place where an electric train does laps along the wall while you're dining, the waitresses are a little rough, and the prices are low, this is definitely it. Apparently they have lunch and dinner, too, but I've not been tempted by the all you can eat spaghetti nights on Wednesdays.

This place grew on me. The first couple of times I went here I wan't really enthusiastic. What can I say, I don't like crowds. But I learned to time my visits for when they're a little less busy. The service here is prompt and friendly, even when they're slammed. So far as I'm concerned, there's only one thing on the breakfast menu here: Corned Beef Hash. Now, I'm not talking about that stuff that comes out of a can but real, homemade hash with big chunks of onion, beef and potatoes, pan-fried to crispy perfection, and Breakfast Inn pulls this one off quite well. My potential menu choices for lunch double from breakfast. For me, it's either the Gyros Sandwich or the Reuben, both of which are quite tasty and come with a golden mountain of fries.

We've been going to Breakfast Inn on E Evans for 17 years so this review is based on hundreds of visits. My eggs are always perfect, bacon thick and crisp and the biscuits n gravy are the best. Their homemade soups are always great. Like most business's today they do it with fewer people but no one moves faster than the friendly folks at BI. Food arrives fast and hot and is always spot on. We are thankful to have this great neighborhood diner. Cheers!

Patron of this restaurant for many years now. Honestly, this is where you go if you want hangover food! Cheap, (usually) quick and tasty if a little greasy. The staff are friendly and remember their regulars, and these guys deliver too. The food isn't top notch quality, but it *is* tasty - which sometimes is more important.

THIS PLACE IS A JOKE!!! Best breakfast in Denver??? Are you serious people? The food fits in with the likes of Denny's and Perkins. The service is comical..perhaps some of the most inept servers I have ever come across. Unless you are a "regular" (the idea of regulars at this place makes me laugh) they could care less about the quality of service they provide. The hostess was as friendly as a prison inmate and didn't ask how the food or service was. The reason she didn't ask was because she already knew the answer, HORRIBLE! A tip for management, the hostess is probably one of the most important people in the restaurant, if not the most important. They MUST BE FRIENDLY! I highly suggest you submit your "restaurant" as a candidate for Restaurant Impossible. You need help! You sell large portions of bland filler food such as potatoes and onions. $30 for 2 filler "meals" is ridiculous. No flavor, no style, no class, and dirtier than the bottom of your shoe! They even have the audacity to put a sign in the vestibule stating "Rate us on Yelp". After their 3rd and final strike we are most certainly rating this place. 1 star in every category I can think of except one, 0 for service. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Le Peep is miles above this place and thats saying something!

Good breakfast, but nothing spectacular. My server did a good job topping off my coffee and water, but she wasn't particularly friendly. Everything in here seems dated and like it could use a good cleaning. It wasn't that dirty, just old maybe? I just wasn't feeling it. It seemed like a good amount of people in there were regulars, with staff excited to see them, which made me feel a little out of place. Cheap food though and decent breakfast.

After work I had to find the closest diner food to satisfy my hunger, and this was the place. My friend and I went in and it was almost completely empty, probably because it was 4:00 in the afternoon on a week day. Let me say that the service we received from our waitress Pam was almost the better part of our visit than the food. She did an outstanding job of serving us as her honest, friendly and attentive attitude was in no short supply. Grade A service. I was starving so I ordered the California benedict, i.e. eggs benedict on whole wheat toast with avocados and tomato, and half an order of biscuits and gravy. One dish smothered in hollandaise, the other smothered in sausage gravy. It was one hell of a smothered meal. The California benedict was delicious with eggs poached to perfection. The biscuits and gravy were a perfect execution of the traditional "shit on a shingle" breakfast and did not disappoint. They also had a model train track running around the perimeter of the ceiling but unfortunately it was not in service due to technical difficulties when I inquired about having it fired up during our meal...Will go back if the opportunity arises.

This restaurant has pretty good service and the food is a lot better than places like Denny's for a traditional breakfast. Even the coffee was better than I expected. Only downside was that it was pretty loud and there were lots of kids running around inside.

  • Andrew N.

The worst breakfast I've had in a long time. I guess they get one star for... existing. It was over priced ($30 for two breakfasts) and was impressively bland. I don't think I could make something so tasteless. I added tons of salt/pepper/hot sauce just to give it some flavor. The coffee was watered down and had the color of iced tea. They had a TV in the corner that was playing infomercials of a new hair removal device. Who wants to watch that while eating? I'm not sure how so many people could give such positive reviews. If you like bad country food that has no taste, you'll love this place.

My wife and I go here a few times a month. Staff and owners are very friendly and the place is usually full but rarely packed unless you go after 9am on a Sunday morning then it's like any other place for breakfast. Table waits aren't too bad. The servers are decent, from time to time one or more will get overwhelmed with orders but that's not their fault as much as I would say add a busboy or two to fill coffee or water and save them time. Speaking strictly from the breakfast menu, the food is good too. We've had a variety of omlette's and skillet's, pancakes and waffles, grits and diet packages, etc. All have been good, I would point out the skillet I thought was overloaded with potatoes and not enough eggs and meat but could have been the day. Coffee and juices are decent, not as strong as I may like but not watered down in my opinion. Overall, this place blows Pete's away and has ample parking.

Okay - I'm a little partial to the BI as it has been a tradition with my friends and I to go there on Sundays if I'm in town (I live in Chicago.) But, it really is a great place for good breakfast fare, especially my artery-clogging favorite, chicken fried steak. Great place for kids, and especially good now that there is no smoking any more. Good coffee, too. Can get crowded, especially on weekends. Long live the BI!
