"I absolutely ADORE Aqua Lounge! A beautiful Art Deco-detailed jazzy night spot with Sassy Drag Queens, a TERRIFIC Bar Staff, who know how to make a mean Manhattan! The "Almost Live" Drag shows, pageants, benefit shows and other events are among the best in Denver!" ~Ms. Kitten Caboodle-DeHerrera

We stopes in during a snow storm last week, and I have to say we really enjoyed it. Great service, and the poured a good cocktail. Can't ask for any more than that. In fact I am changing my review from 4-5.

Drinks are a little expensive and not all of people there. Granted it was a holiday weekend and freezing. Atleast it's walking distance

I stopped in for a drink thinking it was a local dive, but in reality it aspires to be a slightly more upscale gay-focused joint. Which is fine. I simply wanted a $5 mixed drink and it was $7 here. The staff were nice. The vibe was mellow.

This bar is totally gay. Well, that's probably because it caters to the gay community. That doesn't mean that they don't socialize with us hetero types. My gal and I used to frequent this neighborhood gem back when it was the Mozart Lounge. Although they've redecorated it since the change in name and management, it still attracts a very fun and light hearted crowd. Piano and singing along on the weekends. Good fun.

A version of the Aqua Lounge existed back in the early nineties and I was dying to go there but it closed by the time I could. I was kicking myself for not going earlier. In the past couple of years though a new Aqua Lounge has emerged in a different neighborhood. It is a cute little gay bar that welcomes all and there are plenty of events and games here to have fun while you get loaded. Whenever I have the opportunity I will go back!

I really like having Aqua Lounge as a neighborhood bar. There are a few reasons for this, but first and foremost it's because the service here is so amazingly friendly. They never hover, but always magically appear when you need something. It's awesome. I also enjoy their Geeks Who Drink trivia. This isn't one of the super serious locations for trivia. People here are having a good time instead of a cutthroat competition, which is more my speed. And while Aqua Lounge doesn't have food for trivia night they put out some snack for anyone playing to partake in, things like chips and sandwiches, which is a really cool thing to do. There is a parking lot just next to it so you don't have to worry about parking in the streets. And when you are looking for this place you have to look for the sign for Mozart's because that is the most prominent sign for this building. Rest assured though it is in fact Aqua Lounge. It seems they have plenty of fun events each night, even a live piano player on the weekend and so while I'm out of the drinking pool for now I still enjoy spending time there with friends and the friendly company in the bar.

Last night, my theater friends insisted we hit Aqua Lounge for karaoke. Even though it's a bit out of my way any more, I decided to give the place a shot. Last time I'd visited the location, it was still Mozart Lounge. Well, I got there, and the first thing I appreciated was the ease of finding parking. In addition to the lot right next to the bar, there's ample space in the Dependable Cleaners lot across the street, and it's all well-lit. I was the first of my group to arrive. I was greeted very promptly by a soft-spoken waiter who took my drink order and allowed me to run a tab. The entire staff was male (there's something punny in there that's not intentional, I swear), and all of them were really polite. The guy running the karaoke was super friendly and seemed to have built rapport with a good number of folks in the bar, too, which was really cool. The crowd was honestly one of the most diverse that I've ever seen in a Denver bar. The age range easily spanned 50 years, and there were only slightly more men than women, even though it's purported to be a gay bar. They did have a picture of a sexy, mostly-naked man hanging directly above the toilet in the bathroom I visited, so maybe it was, but I wouldn't really label the place one way or another, at least based on a Thursday night crowd. The karaoke was on point. There were so many amazing singers in the place, and as I mentioned before, the KJ was outstanding. They had a bunch of screens from which to read the lyrics, and the sound system was great. There was more than one instance where a couple got up and slow danced to the song being sung - I did notice that quite a few songs being warbled were of the slower, lovestruck variety, but they generally did run the gamut. Oh, and they had an enormous song selection. That counts for something. My only complaint was that it was packed, which honestly, is probably a good problem to have, especially when it's only a Thursday, and the location is slightly off the beaten path.

Cute small place but only one bar tender. He was so busy he couldn't keep up with all the orders. He missed me and my friends several times and we got tired of waiting so we left.

Came here for Geeks Who Drink trivia recently...they have awesome raspberry Shocktop beer here - which I don't think I'd ever had before - and despite it being an Anheuser-Busch brand, I became an instant fan. Snappy music....very catchy variety. There is a (baffling? historic? both?) "Mozart Lounge" sign over the entrance - if you're going at night and don't know what you're looking for as far as Aqua goes, aim for the Mozart sign. Our server was Mike and he's clearly got customer service down to a T...not too intrusive, and not vanishing for 30 min chunks at a time. Giant beers here are $4....$5 glasses.of.wine...on their Happy Hour they are 2.50...I wonder if the beers are down to $2, also? The GWD vibe was relaxed and moderately crowded, not like some venues where people are practically trampling over one another to deliver answer slips for the bonus questions -- everyone had enough space to dive forward at once here. :) This would be a fun place for a Yelp event...maybe a trifle small, but I think the staff here could rock it.

Went here for on a weekday and had a great time. The ambiance was nice and so were the people and staff there. I came with my wife and other friends and didn't even notice it was a primarily gay scene there until later and none of us cared. The drink prices are awesome during happy hour and withouth. We had a fun n classy time on the cheap there. The place was a little hard to find though since the lit sign said something else rather than Aqualounge..they should change that soon to make it easier for other ppl to find unless they prefer their secret location status.

Aqua Lounge has become my "favorite" lounge...Both owner and staff are just great....It is the perfect spot to relax, enjoy a drink (or more), chat with friends or sit back and enjoy the piano bar, or band or whatever activities are planned that evening...You will love the remodeled bar with its warmth and ambiance.....and you must try the Blueberry Martinis...If you haven't been there yet, you are missing out on a fun spot! This place used to be the stab-tastic Mozart Lounge, and now it's a gay piano bar. Not "gay" in the colloquial sense, but "gay" as in "a place for homosexuals to congregrate." Gentrification...yay? Anyways, I've been in here a couple times and there's rarely any people. Worst of all, nobody hits on me or buys me drinks. Now, I'm straight, but INCREDIBLY insecure, so I get a little irritated when there isn't a single drunk dude in a feather boa who wants to get in my pants. For Christ's sake, I'm still in my twenties, not bad looking, I may not have a six-pack anymore but MY STOMACH IS PLENTY FLAT! Quit making me feel unattractive and throw some completely unwanted, though appreciated, sexual advances my way. Two stars for reminding me of the slow ravages of time and my inevitable mortality, jerks!
