Yummy! If you are low on funds, you can satisfy your taste bud with all of the samples they offer you. I haven't done that but it seems easy to do since they will give you a spoon of each flavor to try. Friendly staff, yummy yummy dessert or lunch.

Quaint little gelato shop directly across from the mall and next door to a Pho Restaurant (Vietnamese). Many flavors include sweet, fruity, creamy and coffees. Tiramisu was full of flavors and not overly sweet. Texture a little icy but that's what happens when it's 20 degrees outside. Not as creamy as I'd like but that could have been due to the temp outside. Junior size was more than enough for sharing. They pile it high we needed an extra cup just to keep the gelato from spilling.

Seriously Italian ice on a hot day... Yummy!!so glad they added to the menu. Love this place, cute, people nice great stop from shopping or movie!

I Love this place! Very creative flavors, birthday cake is to die for, and lovely staff!

I don't care what the staff says. Since changing from plastic to paper cups, their scoop has gotten considerably smaller. A junior cup is 2 scoops, but is now only the equivalent of one old scoop. I have a punch card for here and have probably been at least twice a week since May. The gelato is good, but now feels like a ripoff.

5 stars for great gelato. This is the most authentic gelato I have tasted since I came back from Italy 3 weeks ago. They make all gelato in house and even have limoncella flavor. Who would have thought? It was nice to see a locally owned business on the 16th street mall instead of chains like Pinkberry. I will be back again.

  • Brendan J.

Ok the gelato is not the best, but the girl behind the counter was very courteous and kind. Shortly after sneezing she made sure to wash her hands and I appreciate that and I'm sure many others would too. Good quantity. Wish they had dark chocolate.

Amore Gelato was a stop on an culinary walking tour and it was a highlight. The owner is passionate about what he does and serves. Best of all? Since we were part of this tour, we were able to get behind the counter and try any of the gelatos or sorbets. I was not shy and must have tried 10-12 and will remember it fondly for some time. In Rome, we stayed in an apartment over a gelateria and had gelato every day (who could pass it up when it's right there??). Amore gelato is as good as what we loved in Italy. And the owner is a doll.

on the way back from lunch we walked by this place and decided to stop in and check it out. Now I am not a big "sweets" person, I am more the "bag of chips", but ever so often I do like to have a little sweet. So I thought frozen sweetness sounded good. (I mean 73 degrees in September... what the...) I was wearing black pant suit so walking down the mall was a bit warm... Staff was really friendly, and let us sample all we wanted. I finally made my choice (always vanilla) after trying some very good flavors. But I stick with what I know. I got the regular, and man he packed in that gelato like sardines... just the reg. was too much for me, but man it was yummmmy!

Not a fan. It's a nice shop for the 16th st, and the location is good, but the gelato, to me, is only so-so. Not too unique or innovative. I didn't really want to buy something, but felt bad after trying probably all 20 flavors. I should have stopped at the frozen yogurt right next door instead (pinkberry).

  • Ramey D.

I got the smallest portion which was still like 2 scoops!!! HUGE portions and amazing Gelato....what else can you ask for!?

I was introduced to this place by a very nice co-worker. It's two doors over from our own office, so it's only a given that it must be tried. I had never had gelato before and was a little anxious about trying ice cream that doesn't have real milk in it. Lo and behold, this place is delicious! If you're like me and have never tried it, you must do yourself a favor and hop inside. Since it's not quite summer yet, we haven't had to deal with any lines. I'll punch someone if I have to wait longer than 5 minutes when I really want one. I had the chocolate hazelnut - it pleased me more than I thought it would - much more. Is that weird? I don't care if it is! I am a HUGE fan of chocolate and hazelnut being in the same cup, bowl or plate - GIVE IT TO ME! A nice surprise were the WHOLE hazelnuts in this chilly treat. Yummo!!! I'll have one for here and 5 to go, please! While I don't particularly enjoy spending $5.00 on a soup-sized cup of gelato, I also can't get anything this tasty from Safeway. I'll just need to begin a separate monthly gelato fund to keep my almost-addiction alive and well.

Love that they have at least ten options of sorbetto! I have to say that I get a large cup every time. :)

Freaking amazing gelato, it doesn't get much better than this!

too sweet. the texture feels more like ice cream than gelato

  • Jenni S.

I love ice cream and gelato. It's an added bonus that this is really close to work. I've lucked out because they have been on groupon, living social, etc so you can get $10 of gelato (enough to treat a friend) for $5. Take an afternoon break and enjoy. The mandarin orange and pinapple sorbettos with the coconut gelato - delicious!

    (4)
  • Rachelle R.

Their gelato and sorbets are great! Try the mojito if they have it; real rum, mint and it's perfectly sweet. They also have the tart frozen yogurt and another flavor every day. You can sample as may flavors as you want. It's a little pricey for small cups, but a great treat and you don't need much.

    (5)
  • Claire B.

Luv luv luv! One more, LUV! The young staff is definitely so catering, esp to the sampling. Sample everything! It's fun! You'll probably be satisfied with sampling everything and be full hehehe. Their selection of Gelato is fantastic!! This place reminds me of Italy so much (minus the dark haired Italians hitting on everyone) LOL. I can always count on this place being open late too! Cheers to being open late, when almost all the small cafes close early on 16th Street. So remember, the key to the perfect Gelato here... Sampling!

I will make this short but sweet....HUGE portions, friendly service, and the most flavorful sorbet I have ever tasted. It was the perfect midday snack after spending the morning enjoying the sights and sounds of downtown Denver.

Fantastic place. Great tasting gelato and really good service. Ordered a small gelato to share with my daughter. She dropped it on the ground and the guys here replaced it free of charge. That's AWESOME!

  • Michael P.

I've already visited this place quite a few times....and for some reason just realized after I went today I haven't written a review! Well the staff is great and so is their fro-yo and gelatto. Lots of different flavors and great quality! Glad to be a supporter! :D

  • Trish B.

yummy gelato and sorbetto (we tried the lemon, grapefruit dulce de leche and mascarpone pear -- all were great) and the staff were always very friendly! it's cute that they shape your cup of gelato into a "rose"

    (4)
  • Christian D.

This place sucks. The two super young staff members were cranking Dubstep music so loud I couldn't hear what they were saying on the other side of the counter. The gelato is bland and not worth it. I guess if you are just craving a sweettooth and you can't find ANYTHING else, I would say this would satisfy you. But I have found plenty of other spots to go to.

  • Bryan M.

Needed an after-dinner snack and gelato sounded like the perfect idea! Tasted a few flavours and decided on a scoop of cream cheese and strawberry. It was like a frozen strawberry cheesecake :) Good combo.

  • Brady K.

It was a nice sunny, super hot day on the 16th street mall. Not much better to do that to sit down on the patio and people watch as you nibble on some nice creamy gelato. The temperature of the gelato was just perfect as the texture had that soft serve feel and not the soft serve taste. A lot of fruity flavors as well as some very unique chocolately flavors. I lean towards the vanilla/chocolate/caramel side of desserts myself and I enjoyed the cappuccino and the creamsicle gelato's. Staff were very friendly and like all ice cream shops always willing to give you a sample. I always feel guilty like I am putting them out by asking for more than one sample, but I do it anyway. I guess that's what the tip is for.

Fiancée and I stopped in a hot Denver day. Really enjoyed our gelatos. I had mango with Toblerone flakes and it was quite yummy. Unfortunately, they were out of chocolate dipped cones, but service was very friendly.

  • Jennifer L.

I came in on a Saturday afternoon and there were 2 workers. They were very friendly and offered samples. I sampled the dulce de leche and mascarpone caramelized pear and ended up with mascarpone caramelized pear in a cake cone. It was only $2.15, and that's pretty cheap compared to where I'm from, Orange County, CA. The texture for both flavors were off. The dulce de leche was too soft and lacked flavor so I opted for the latter. Unfortunately, the mascarpone caramelized pear had parts that were way too icy and other parts were more creamy. The flavor is there for that flavor; they just have to work on the texture.

Jeopardy answer: "Slim Pickens."* And the Jeopardy question is, "What are your chances of finding a really good gelato spot in Denver?" Walkin' down the 16th St. Mall yesterday I asked myself the above question while passing by Amore's. A sign from God? Nah, just no lunch yet. Very nice folks workin' there. Kept the order simple so I could better evaluate the fundamental structure of the gelato: One small scoop of chocolate, please. Not impressed. Tastes and textures of ice crystals in the gelato. Lacking a smooth and rich mouth feel. Flavor was OK, but nothing bright or noteworthy. Still looking for the holy grail of gelato in Denver. Haven't found it yet. If you have any recommendations I'd love to hear from you. Sign me, David "Yearning for Firenze" M. [*P.S. FYI: Wikipedia entry for Louis Burton Lindley, Jr. (June 29, 1919 - December 8, 1983): Known by the stage name Slim Pickens, was an American rodeo performer and film and television actor who epitomized the profane, tough, sardonic cowboy, but who is best remembered for his comic roles, notably in Dr. Strangelove and Blazing Saddles.] (He's the guy who rode the H-bomb down from the B-52 bomber at the end of that classic movie, "Dr. S":).

The gelato is good. My wife and I spit a birthday cake. Not too cold. Not too sweet. The service was acceptable until the gentleman behind the counter gave my wife an attitude because she didn't hear him mumble the bathroom security code. What a jerk.

  • Audrey J.

pretty cheap gelato! just 3 bucks for the two scoop junior size. i guess i'm used to la prices... the cappuccino was rich in coffee flavor blueberry was icy and crisp and sweet peach was a bit subdued, like it was going somewhere but it stopped peanut butter is decent but doesn't mesh as well with the texture of gelato got the first two. happy with this place!

  • Calvin Y.

Yes, yes, they have lactose free options. But I have already committed myself to dairy. And if I am going to do something bad, then I'm going to go for it with the CREAM CHEESE GELATO. They even have a bagel in the display case to show the cream cheesy goodness!

  • Brianna T.

I'm here way too much!!!! I love the gelato. There's always different flavor and you get a massive amount. For your money's worth which is surprising!!!

So good! The waffle cone flavored one and cookies & cream are both so good. Can't wait to go back and try all the flavors.

Decided to give this place another try. I was contacted by the owner but did not take on his offer to retry the place for free as I don't like for people to put on a show knowing they want to impress you. This time I had the stracciatella and vanilla bean gelato. The gelato was definitely of gelato-consistency this time around and was not rock hard. The taste was good but I feel the gelato could be richer. I wasn't impressed by the selection as there were too few chocolate-containing ones and this time there was no Nutella or hazelnut flavored gelato. Definitely much improved but I'm still searching for a better gelato in the Denver area.

I happen to go to the chiropractor who is up above this little place and passed it many times until the massage therapist told me I just had to go down. I reluctantly did and the guy who works there is super awesome and doesn't mind if you want to try everything (and the people who are always in front of me do try EVERY flavor) they make whatever they feel like and they change daily I've had a pineapple habenero gelato, a samoa cookie one, and a really yummy salted caramel oreo one. I have been so impressed with the flavors and the service. I got brave the last time and had one of their panini's - it was so good I really don't know if I've had a better sandwich I look forward to all the new flavors I'll get to taste here at Amore!

This was a great little place for a pre movie, beautiful sunny February day on the Mall. The selection of flavors was great. I would recommend you go for the Juinor. It's way more then you can imagine. I was literally shocked at how much they crammed into that little cup. I even got to choose 2 different flavors to put in to that little guy. I had the Amaretto and the Peanut Butter. So good. Not to sweet, and the flavor was also not to over powering. They seemed to even go good together. There is plenty of room to sit inside or outside. Always nice to find a great little spot you've waled past a dozen times and never noticed. Guess I just wasn't in the mood for gelato before, but I totally will be now when I am on the mall.

Walking around Denver and ran into AmoreGelato. Had a sign up that they were closed for 15 mins. Was more like 30 but it was a beautiful sunny day and I sat at a nice little outdoor seating area to watch the world go by. The gelato made the wait worth it. Had the sea salt Oreo. Delicious and creamy. Reasonably priced. Junior size was plenty. Two large scoops. Will be back.

This place is okay. Not great. But okay. The gelato is good, but it is not authentic and it's a little creamy for my taste. We were here on a randomly warm day in January (after the Broncos won the AFC Championship game - boo yah!). There was no line and the service was friendly. I believe I ordered the blackberry gelato - or blueberry? Some berry! The scooper took the time to make our cups of gelato look like flowers, which was nice. They have tables and chairs on the 16th Street Mall so you can people watch and try to avoid being harassed by the robotic man with a fro (anyone whose spent any amount of time on the 16th Street Mall knows exactly who I mean...). If you're in the area and are looking for a sweet treat, give it a try. But don't make a special trip.

Totally random find, we were looking for ice cream but wanted to avoid the big chains. It's little, but has a door to the street as well as into the mall. Lots of good gelato flavors to try! I got the mid-size cup and it was more than enough for me!

Time : 17:55hrs SUNDAY April 21st 2013. After our Underwhelmed Dinner, Hubs wanted to have something sweet as Desserts to Amore Gelato we went. Thankfully Amore Gelato is opened on SUNDAYs and since we are already in Downtown we agreed to the decision to head to Amore Gelato. When we arrived at Amore Gelato, there were several other patrons ahead of us, waiting to order. From the Gelato offerings that evening, I already knew what to order. Nevertheless, I so wish, I could have ask for Gelato "samples" before making my final decisions. 3.5 stars for me. 3 stars for Hubs. I opt for Pineapple Habanero Sorbetto and Mixed Berry Gelato of somekind. Hubs opt for Hazelnut Latte and Pistachio Gelato. With the Spicy and Sweet combination I opt for, I was so hoping for more. The Sorbetto and Gelato was indeed refreshing and light. I can really taste the Spicy-ness of the Habanero and the Sweetness of Pineapple. I take turns to eat the Sorbetto and Mixed Berry alternatively and sometime, mixed the Sorbet and the Mixed Berry. AWESOME Combination for my taste buds. For our orders of Junior, meaning two scoops of Sorbetto or Gelato items cost (2 @ $2.99), our Total Gelato Treat was $6.46 with tax. I like the flavors I had, though Hubs was underwhelmed on what he had, coz he wish they have Chocolate flavor of some kind but Amore Gelato, ran out of it that evening. All in all, I don't mind returning when needed. From my observation while we were there, several other patrons opt to have other Beverages, Smoothie, Sundaes or Shakes etc etc. Hmmm, those look tempting too, maybe next time, I might order those... Though I cannot deny the Sorbetto and Gelato are Definitely Calling my name again and again... while I typed this review... The gelato is so delicious. I love the salted Oreo and dulce de Leche. This is by far the only place where you actually get your money's worth! A junior cup will yield a lot of gelato. I have been to plenty of ice cream places but I only come back once a year simply because they did not give me my money's worth of scoops. But amore gelato is the only place where I will keep coming back even in the winter seasons. It's a great way to cool down after finals or tests or midterms since it is so close by to school.

I used to work in the area, and have been there a few times. The staff is never an issue, but the product is passable, at best. I'm all for giving a place a second chance, but I can confidently say I won't be going there again. Their Mint tastes like Milk of Magnesia, and they seem to use a gritty cheese powder as a replacement for cream cheese in "Cheesecake" flavors. Red Velvet Cake should actually taste like Red Velvet Cake, but theirs is flavorless and gritty, as if they use Red Velvet Cake mix instead of cocoa powder. If something is named after a nut of some sort, there should at least be a perceptible quantity of said nut in the gelato, namely Roasted Almond should have some almonds in it! Overall, the idea is a good one, but the there are very few items that are not disappointing. I would suggest tasting everything, even if it's normally one of your favorite flavors. The biggest problem is that it they try to make adventurous, exotic flavors, but they don't even get the classics right. Your money is better spent elsewhere on the Mall.

Sad to say this was a disappointment. If you're on a break go somewhere else. With an empty store it took 15 mins to get the order.

Really more of a 3.5 - 3.75 star rating but I'm feeling generous today. Horrendously hot & not the friendliest of staff...which is smart to bank on the hot weather to draw people in but not let them crowd inside with the unwelcoming environment. Thankfully, the gelato is what will you draw you back (unless there's other competition). We got the Sea Salt Oreo, White Choco Raspberry, Birthday Cake, Tiramisu, Tahitian Vanilla, Mint Choco, & Straciatella. Yeah, we ordered a bunch. My favorite was tied between the Sea Salt Oreo & Birthday Cake...which is totally not to say the other flavors were less than really good. The tiramisu was good and tasted a bit boozy...no complaints here. It was good stuff. My brother-in-law got the pink grapefruit and it was awesome. My niece enjoyed her strawberry and lemon combo too. Great flavors, good (but not super authentic) gelato, & convenient to get too when strolling along outside. Work on the customer service and the heat issue...and definitely close to 5 stars worthy.

Why waste your money on frozen yogurt when you can have fresh fatty gelato? Located on the 16th st mall, I knew I had to stop in here when I saw someone walking by with a cup of this stuff. Plenty of fun flavors to choose from like birthday cake, caramel, chocolate, cappuccino. They even have sugar free and sorbet options! Even though there was about 6 of us in line and only one girl working there on Easter she was friendly, fast, and let us try any flavor we want. Not only was my birthday cake gelato delicious, the serving was a generous portion and the patio seating outside was perfect. If you are in the area, definitely get some while strolling around.

Stopped by after a business meeting before going back to the airport. The woman serving was very friendly and was nice enough to accomodate samples of a number of flavors. I decided on chocolate and it was outstanding. I am from NY and have had gelato from top places and this was truly authentic. I would highly recommend Amore.

Walking around downtown Denver and I spot Amore Gelato. I don't eat too much in the frozen confection Dept. However, this place says it is all made on site. In a Kitchen upstairs. The shop is clean and well designed. The girls working there were very friendly even though they were very busy. The choices are endless here, and they even have a Rose Gelato. They let me try some ,it is a very odd taste. Very strong like Rose Water. which makes sense as it is made with Rose water. The girls said it is very popular in Italy. I am sure in moderation it is good. I however decided on the regular cup which they put 3 choices into. So many excellent choices!! They will let you try anything. You may get your Gelato in a cup, waffle cone, or regular cone. They have juice, soda, coffee and a few other nice looking drinks. You get take it to go , or sit inside and enjoy, while they also have free Wi Fi that is a nice idea as well. They will even cater your events,What a great Idea for a wedding or party. They also carry Sorbetto. That is intense fruit flavor and they are diary free and Vegan Friendly. As well as sugar free and low-cal. So I have to say that is something for everyone. Not too expensive either.

I really wanted a cool treat and decided to skip Pinkberry (the thrill is gone) and go for the fattier and more sugar filled frozen treat. I spotted a glowing ice cream cone from the mall and see the sign - mmmm, Gelato!! This place is tiny. It is sort of a long hall of Gelato and windows. I went in and tried a few flavors, vanilla (good, but too plain for a whole cup), tiaramasu (I swear that it didn't taste like anything to me!) and good ole chocolate. I went with a small chocolate. It seemed really small, but I am glad to say that the richness of the Gelato satisfies you even with a small portion. It was a nice treat. They have frozen yogurt and sorbetto (dairy free). The latter actually looked quite yummy and I might try that next time around!

Tastes like gelato. And they have hazlenut gelato. That's my staple and sometimes hard to find.

Very tasty. My first time there and I had the key lime gelato and the chunky cherry gelato. Very light flavor and I really liked it. Kind of pricey, but nice for a treat.

Hello delicious! Super friendly owner, great history - he went to Italy to learn the gelato art! Great flavors, reasonable prices, good coffee and a cute patio to boot! And they stay open late!

After an interesting experience of watching a man who I am imagining is schizophrenic (he did a pole dance to a song he was singing, and then pulled a burrito out of a backpack and proceeded to talk into it as if it was a walkie-talkie), I was looking for a place with Wi-Fi (so I could get a few Yelp reviews posted), that wasn't the standard coffee shop. The girl at the counter was very sweet and patient. She allowed myself & the couple ahead of me to sample whatever we wanted. While I did sample the Mandarin Orange gelato, which did taste just as the name suggests. It was very refreshing and delicious. Personally, however, I like the more creamy gelato varieties, so I decided to get 1/2 Amaretto and 1/2 Chocolate Cake Gelato... I ordered the small, which is two scoops... but it was plenty big in my opinion. Both were very good, but the Chocolate Cake was sooooo good. I wished that I had ordered two of the chocolate cake. Just FYI, If you check-in via Yelp at Amore, you get $1 off a large, which would be 4 generous scoops. I wish this place was located in St Louis. Molto buon! Happy Dining

No transaction information? I don't buy it. I was given the same information as the previous reviewer - new owner has no way to process Groupons. Sorry, but I just don't buy that. A good way to garner loyalty would be to contact the previous owner for that transaction information and accept the Groupons, not to post a sign at the cash register saying you are under new ownership and won't accept them. I suspect the information could probably be obtained from Groupon as well. It's too bad, because the staff was nice and the guava gelato sample I had was tasty. The funny thing is, as I declined to pay for the gelato and was leaving, the kid attempting to ring me up gave the gelato I was going to purchase to his coworker (manager?) and said, "do you want this"? So the product was wasted anyway and I won't be returning as a customer. Thankfully Groupon provided much better customer service and I was able to get my money refunded for my unuseable Groupons.

This gelato shop is amazing. A delight for the eyes and the tastebuds ! The young lady helping us was so helpful and never made us feel rushed or put out while we were deciding on a flavor. I settled on the normal gelato while my lactose intolerant friend got the sorbet. We were both blown away by the flavor and creamy texture of our mid-day treat.

Gelato. The word itself sounds delicious. I like to draw it out as I say it: gelllllaaaaaaaato. Fabulous flavors. The vanilla is especially nice. Chocolate chip; awesome. Mountain berry; tangy and refreshing. Give me gelato any day. And give it to me with the friendly service and free tastes that make me so happy at Amore Gelato.

  • Aileen D.

I know it's the not the same product, but I would take Amore Gelato over Pinkberry any day. The staff is great with kids and they let you sample till you're happy with your final choice. Bad side- it's a block from my office. Dangerous!

  • Jeremy T.

Yum! I love gelato, and this place was good! I came here twice. I had the amaretto chocolate chip and (I think) cookies and cream the first time I came. The next night, I had the pistachio (REALLY good) and mango. Bottomline: I got the waffle cones for both of my orders, and it was still less than $5! Not bad!

Wonderful to have a gelato place on 16th street. My wife and I came upon this place just walking by, and what a nice surprise. The service and employees were outstanding. They answered all our questions and let us sample multiple times before we ordered. The even offered suggestions and we took them up on it. The Mama Mia flavor tingled with creaminess, and flavor......Very, very good. I sampled a trio of Chocolate Amaretto, Peanut Butter, and Toasted Almond. What a wonderful mix of flavors and contrasts. My palate just smiled with the fantastic tastes the gelato held.....Another excellent suggestion from the staff. FYI, however. The store itself feels cramped. Expect huge crowds, spare seating, and lines now that summer is upon us. But in the end, WELL WORTH THE WAIT!!!!

So, I've taken the plunge and decided to review a frozen dessert establishment. I NEVER do this. It's kinda of against my morals because I'm the owner of a very well know frozen yogurt shop in town. Regardless, I felt the need to not only try Amore Gelato, but to review it as well. Why? Because I was pretty impressed with my experience. I've eaten some amazing gelato throughout my life in places like Italy and Capogiro, in Philadelphia. I decided to try the Banana Cream Pie gelato at Amore. The texture was superb. The taste was authentic too. I also ordered a cup of the Stracciatella(Chocolate Chip). It was also excellent. At this point, my palate was satisfied. About an hour later, after walking the 16th Street Mall, I decided I needed some more gelato. After all, I don't eat gelato very often, and I don't get a chance to stroll the 16th Street Mall all that often either. I tasted the Tiramisu. I expected a little more from the flavor itself. The individual working behind the counter suggested I try the Peanut Butter. I agreed. It's her favorite and Amore doesn't always sell it, she claimed. Wow. It was out of this world. Once again, it had the classic texture of artisan gelato. It was very rich in peanut butter taste, which I like. I was also impressed with the brand of coffee they sell- Lavazza. Besides Illy, Lavazza is the best selling, best tasting large scale roasted coffee from Italy. It's not always easy to find either. Surprisingly enough, the staff was very accommodating and friendly. A customer service trait hard to find these days. I thought the price for the portion size was very fair too. I've been to some gelato shops charging much more for much less. The only reason, it didn't earn 4 stars/5 from me is because of the counter display. If I recall correctly, there were about 4-6 empty gelato bins. Not very impressive to the naked eye. In a gelato establishment, all the gelato stainless steel bins should be overflowing with gelato.

The chocolate chip gelato was awesome. The spoons made it hard to eat, thoguh. They are like little toothpicks. I solved that quandary by sitting down and eating slowly. How ridiculous is that?!?!?! Even the kids running the shop (and these are high school kids for sure) were cute. Grab your dessert, take a seat outside, and watch the people walk by.

I was never a gelato fan before I tried this place. Now it's all that I want!! Smooth and creamy, lots of great flavor choices, and all the free tastes that you want. Homemade on the premises to boot!! Give it a try - you won't be disappointed.

What a nice, light sweet bite and great way to top off a walk down the 16th Street Mall. I chose half honey sunflower and half cinnamon and the combo was deee-lish! The honey sunflower is scrumptious! The line was out the door, but the guys working the counter are pleasant and funny. Two thumbs up!

The gelato is very, very good, and they have a pretty broad selection of regular and vegan flavors, with a balance of fruity and chocolate. Do not be fooled by the small storefront. Now they are serving sandwiches, and those are delicious. I had a roast beef panini, which was well made with quality ingredients. The sandwiches do not have a lot of bells and whistles, but the roast beef was lean, tender, tasted good, and did not have any gross parts to pick out or funky pressed meat. The veggies were fresh and nicely marinated. I have been in there several times, and every time, the employees could not be any nicer. They are cordial and good at explaining their offerings and choices so that you do not need to stand there staring gape mouthed at the menu board holding up traffic.

Wow! This is my new favorite place! Since the new Dairy Queen is lame, we have been waiting with bated breath for Amore to open. They were worth the wait!! We walked in, were greeted by a friendly guy who let us know what the difference between sorbet and gelato was and that we could try as many flavors as we wanted. They were AMAZING! I don't even like amaretto, but their amaretto chocolate chip was awesome!! We got 2 mediums and it was $7 or $8. So cheap for something so awesome!! Friendly staff, cute place and amazing gelato- what's not to love?

I've been here several times, and yesterday I took a group in with me for a pre-arranged tour. The owner, Bruce, was very accommodating and told us all about how they make their gelato on-site (apparently the kitchen is upstairs, which makes sense because the shop itself is pretty small). They have made over 200 flavors in the time they've been in business, and I've now sampled at least ten. I've got a long way to go... their gelato is very smooth, and certain flavors are very strong while others are more mellow. My favorites are the white chocolate, the Mama Mia (straciatella base with chocolate and cherries), and the peach, though I've liked everything I've tried. They do a good job of rotating flavors too - each time I've gone, about half the flavors are different. We got to sample liberally and then decided on what we wanted, and even though we went at an off time in mid-afternoon there were still some other customers, which is good for business. Denver needs more good gelato after the closure of a couple of my favorites, and Amore is up to the task.

So here's the deal, I loooooooove ice cream in any form. Sorbet, frozen yogurt, gelato, in my eyes you really can't go wrong it's hands down my favorite dessert so I'm very hard to disappoint in this arena. That being said this stuff sucked. My friend got the lemon, I got the almond, and sampled a few other flavors. The lemon tasted like pine-sol and mine tasted like straight almond extract and sugar, super gross. Everything was overpoweringly sweet (not in a good way) and the cheesecake I sampled tasted bitter and tart not in a delightful frozen yogurt kind of way more like fermenting cream cheese. I dunno maybe it was a off day for me, I will give it one more attempt because I refuse to believe any kind ice cream related experience could be bad.

    Delicious gelato! However seriously understaffed!

The flavors were decent, if not that memorable. They were rather busy when I went. The counter area is quite narrow, and people had to squeeze by other people in order to move through. The gelato here is not near as good as at Little Man, or the place that was in Cherry Creek before it closed. Servings seem a little skimpy for the price. However, if you want a sweet treat, in this part of town, Amore is an acceptable option.

Ok for a hot day, but I've definitely had better. I would like to see more flavor options. A tad pricey for the portions too.

Great selection of gelato flavors. They had some unique ones I've never seen before also.

I love gelato so I might be a little tough on this place. No flavor really stood out as very authentic, and the gelato had tiny bits of ice, which I don't think is normal for real gelato. At least it wasn't expensive like the gelato places in Miami Beach, and I'm glad there's A gelato place on 16th St. Maybe I'll change my mind if I try some other flavors.

My fiance and I visited Amore Gelato near the beginning of December and I just totally forgot to write a review, oops! Anyway, the gelato was delicious and my fiance and I kept raving about it. However, the condition of the only free table (there's only three inside) left much to be desired; there was a candy that had obviously been inside of someone's mouth on the table. My fiance tried to remove it but it was stuck on. Maybe if there were more people around that might have been excusable but the place wasn't very busy, in fact the worker behind the counter was using their cell phone to text the whole time we were there. However, despite this, we do have plans on going back.

Decent gelatier making creamy and tasty selections. I enjoyed the chocolate chip amaretto (I love amaretto) and a few other tastes (the coffee/amaretto flavor, english truffle) were good too. I like the store itself and its outdoor seating. I'll be tempted to buy some again the next time I'm down by 16th street mall.

We went here twice during our 5 day trip cuz it was that good. I loved hazelnut and roasted almond. They even had whole hazelnuts and almond pieces inside. The pistachio was also good, although I bit into a pistachio nut and it tasted horrible! I don't know if nuts can go bad, but I had to spit it out. Nice staff who let us sample all that we wanted.
