Loved the space, the decor and the staff. Super friendly and attentive. But....if you're gonna pay higher prices for food, the quality had better be there as well. I'm not sure why they don't have an actual stove with burners....and I think it's rather cool they sous-vide everything....but you just shouldn't put the final sear on meats with a George Foreman grill. At least that's what the sear marks looked like on my pork and sausage. Kuddos on the escargot though. Probably won't make the effort to return.

We came here Saturday night for a 7:30 reservation. Our table had been delayed by another late group so we were seated at the bar with sincere apologies. Fortunately, we were catching up with family so had the hours to while away. For apps we got the steak tartare, chicken liver mousse and a baked cheese course (Tete de Moine) with chorizo. The apps knocked it out of the park! Absolutely delicious and when washed down with the amazing cocktails that I think we literally ordered 10 of between the four of us, it was a little slice of heaven. Once we were seated at our table, again with sincere apologies by the staff for the delay, we ordered entrees. Myself and a friend ordered the coq au vin and my husband and his cousin ordered the pork tenderloin. Both my friend and I found the seasoning to be a bit off with the sauce being really salty and the chicken not salty enough. If you were able to mix them in the right combination, it offered the perfect amount of seasoning. The bite I had of the pork tenderloin was very good and well done. Dessert knocked it out of the park with the lemon tart which was served in a glass with layers of homemade shortbread cookie and lemon curd topped with meringue. The table agreed this was the best dessert of the two we sampled. The other dessert was caramel corn topped with ice cream and a blackberry sauce. Loved the uniqueness of it but put up next to the lemon curd it came in second place. The staff could not have been more gracious and attentive which took this from a four star to five star review. The delay in our reservation wasn't ideal but they handled it with grace and charm and at the end of the day, that was more important to us.

My wife and I had our rehersal dinner here. It was absolutely incredible. They were more than willing to provide anything and everything that we requested. The enviroment was perfect for the amount of people we had (about 45), the food was amazing, and the service was timely and friendly. I had at least 15 people tell me how much they enjoyed it, and not a single person had a negative experience. Whether you are having a party there or just taking your significant other on a date, this a the perfect place! The service has always been personable, timely, and helpful. If you don't read french (I do not), the suggestions by the waiter/waitress have always been amazing as well. I can not recommend this resturant enough. When you go, be prepared to be adventurous and try new things!

Amass is a gem! Came here on yelp recommendations and can't be happier. Happy hour is five stars, and dinner is four. We came for happy hour as a group of three and literally ordered every single dish on their HH menu, along with some drinks. The Lumiere cocktail was refreshing and delicious. Mussels were equally delicious, so much so that my friend asked for a spoon to attack every last drop of the broth. It was ample food for three, and the bill came out to approximately $20 a person including a drink. Service was attentive and quickl. Later, a group of us came for a birthday party. They were accommodating with our large group size and had reserved us the entire left section of the restaurant. Food was a little less stellar than previously. The flounder and seafood stew were solid, but others left the chicken unfinished. Service was great as usual.

Great food and awesome service. I live nearby and have come in a few times for drinks. I have been wanting to try the food for a few months and finally did today. We ordered the escargot and mussels and both were amazing! The service is always great here. Great neighborhood atmosphere.

Absolutely fantastic. Went for my GF's birthday and they gave us champagne to celebrate. Waiter knew everything - great suggestions. Have nothing bad to so whatsoever. Relaxed atmosphere, delicious food. Will be going back. Also, Tuesday half off wine night - don't miss that deal. Thank you.

Went for happy hour on Tuesday with a friend and everything we tried was excellent. My favorite items were the chicken liver pate and the steak tartare! Looking forward to my next date night dinner here. Lucky for me Amass is a stones throw away.

Brunch here today! Pros: huge cups of coffee. No wait! Cons: pretty small menu. The food is average. Nothing knocked our socks off, and it's a but over priced for the quality.

Oh how the neighborhood keeps on changing, sorry, as a North Denver native I am still surprised by how much the North side has changed...but that is off point. My wife and I recently decided to go on a strict budget. So for Valentine's Day she wanted to make dinner at home. Not going to happen, I know that Valentines dinner is so cliche and unoriginal, but we love going out to new places so to hell with originality! I had some money put away and so we went for it! Honestly, seeing my lovely wife getting ready for me with such excitment, is the best Valentine's Day gift I could get from her. So as you can imagine I hoped that Amass would be equal to the moment...we were not disappointed! I called ahead and of course they were full but the gentleman encouraged me to come in, as they have a community table that seats 8, and with confidence told me they would do their best to accommodate us. Normally we tend to shy away from community tables but we didn't mind trying since it was last minute. As we arrived we were enthusiastically greeted by the host! It turns out there was a last minute cancelation and so we were immediately seated at a table for two. The restaurant has a very intimate setting because of the selective number of tables, this is perfect for a special dinner or a first date, as the restaurant noise is soft enough to have a conversation without having to raise your voice! Amass had a pre set Valentine's Day menu for $65 per person, each individual could assemble their own four course dinner. Looking at the menu, it looked like more food than we would be able to handle in one sitting so I asked our waitress if they would accommodate a change in the menu. We wanted to share the first 2 courses and then select our own entrée and dessert. The waitress gladly said she would ask. Within a minute she was back and informed us that they would absolutely adjust the menu and the price accordingly! We started withe the cheese plate. It was very good, I know that it is something that they asseble rather than create on site but it was still very good! The boysenberry jam and local honey paired nicely with the cheeses. The toasted bread was everything top bread should be, crunchy on the outside and soft and tender inside! My only complaint was that there were only 3 pieces of bread. For our second course we chose the cauliflower soup. It was topped with olive oil, garlic chips and black tobiko. It was the best soup that I have had in recent memory! It is also worth noting that I am not a big fan of cauliflower. The soup was rich, well seasoned and as smooth as velvet. The tobiko added an excellent, boba like, pop to the soup. The garlic chips were perfectly sweet and were without the slightest hint of bitterness. For our main course I chose the Rack of Lamb with pommes anna, roasted asparagus, and a pistachio salsa verde that made a good Rack of Lamb excellent! I immediately asked our server if she would bring more pistachio salsa, it was that good not to mention I am a slave to good salsa and sauces, she promptly obliged. The accompanying pommes anna and asparagus were also well prepared. My wife selected the Duck Confit with potatoe puree, wilted spinach, and an accompanying port wine and cherry puree. In her own words "estuvo riquisisimo!" [Translation: It was very delicious!] I agree! For desseret I had the banana cream pie and my wife had the chocolate pudding. They were both ok, not great. Amass gets a five star rating based on the high quality of the first 3 courses, the staff attention to us and the details of the restaurant, and the overall vibe of the restaurant, wich made for an excellent social and culinary experience! We will defenitly return.

I try not to give out five stars. I think it should be reserved for something exceptional. Amass exceeded all expectations and it seemed effortless for them to accomplish. My wife and I were meeting my cousin and his friend for dinner. Upon arrival we were informed the our reservation was going to be a bit behind schedule due to the part before us showing up late and lingering. Normally this type of thing is a big annoyance, but the front of the hose staff rolled with it and made sure we were treated with the utmost respect and professionalism. We were seated in the bar area and enjoyed a few cocktails and appetizers before our table could be turned. Everything was delicious. Once seated the great food and service continued and the four of us thoroughly enjoyed our evening.

I wish I liked Amass as much as the other yelpers. Maybe it's because almost nothing has changed since this spot was the Corner House which I didn't love? Hubby and I went it for Restaurant Week and had a reservation on the early side. We arrived and the host wanted to seat us at a 2-top closest to the door. (during the recent snowstorm.) Mind you, there were only 2 other tables with people which left about 4 other 2-tops where we coud have been seated, all further from the door. When we asked about a different table, we were told that all those tables were reserved. Because apparantly you can reserve specific tables at Amass? (Sarcasm here, I highly doubt it.) Nevertheless, we compromised on a table one further from the door and settled in. It just set a really wierd tone for the evening. We were exicted about the RW menu and alreary knew what we wanted to eat. First up - soupe a l'oignon for both of us. It look a long time for the soup to come out -- maybe 15 minutes which we thought was strange. Even more strange is that my husband kept hearing the beep of a microwave in the background, even through the very loud music. The bowls arrived very hot which means they were indeed microwaved instead of the soup already being hot and then placed under a salamander for the cheese to be melted. I'll say this -- despite all that the soup was very flavorful and down right delicious. My husband had the duck confit and I had the Bouillabaisse. The best item of the night was my husband's date cake with salted caramel ice cream. The service was attentive. The waitress was a little on the cold side; the host/waiter was friendly but we were still thrown by the table comment when we arrived. I guess I was expecting more based on the reviews and in the end the food was pretty good. I guess I just won't be running back anytime soon but I certainly wouldn't avoid it.

Delicious meal with my colleagues in a very fun very hip ambience. Great menu items I absolutely loved my French onion soup and my spring selection of meats. Make sure to order cheeses after dinner as they are incredible.

Happy hour at Amass is awesome and well worth checking out if you're looking for high quality food & drinks. The beef tartare is some of the best I've had, and the mussels were a home run (ask for more bread to soak up their awesome broth). They also do discounts on beer and $5 or $6 cocktails. The space is almost exactly the same as the place it replaced, Corner House. Not quite swanky, but going in that direction. I would feel under-dressed in shorts & a tee. We went for dinner for NYE and weren't nearly as impressed as HH...service was great but the food was average given the prix fixe price, hence the 4* vs. 5*. I haven't been here for a regular dinner yet, but based on the menu it's well worth checking out. Amass is a great addition to the Jefferson Park, worth seeking out.

I have been to Amass at 23rd and Clay three times now, and it has kept getting better. Last night was superb. We started with a pot of chicken liver pate with caramelized onion and bacon jam that was plenty for four people ($9), then my wife got a superb cassoulet with white beans, pickled green beans, duck breast, lamb leg and pork sausage ($20) and I had frog's legs (four legs, $6) and mussels in tarragon cream ($6). The frog's legs were perfectly cooked, fall off the bone tender, and the mussels were as fresh as could be, in the most subtle and well made tarragon cream I have ever had. My parents each had a bowl of onion soup, and dad ordered escargots, which he shared. Great flavor, cooked in fines herbs, very vegetal. They have La Vieille Ferme wine by the glass for $6, and more expensive glasses and bottles.

My wife and I had such a good dinner at Amass last night. It is such a neighborhood gem and the Jefferson Park neighborhood is lucky to have a fine restaurant. We started off with the Parisian Gnocchi, made with gruyere cheese instead of potato, it was very tasty. My wife had the Poitrine de Porc, a delicious dish of pork belly and porchini mushroom sauce and I had the Boeuf Stroganoff which was very good. The stars of the dishes are the sauces, the chef is does such a good job creating the different sauces for the different dishes. This is the second time I have been to Amass and have not been disappointed. It is such a good price for the quality of food. They have a good cocktail and wine list, our server made a good recommendation for wine base on my meal. Please try this restaurant, you won't be disappointed.

So much good stuff that the wife and I try to eat here once a week The french onion soup is delicious even though I wish they would bring back the potato leek soup which I think induced a religious experience. Try the rye cocktail

Fun French conceptual restaurant. Quaint and cozy with great service; a good spot for a date, or even a solo cocktail and meal. The drinks are spot on, and there's usually a nice selection of local or craft beers. The food is great, and in multiple visits, has not disappointed.

Tried to go here for a late night drink. My boyfriend lives right down the street so we walked there. We made a point to look up the hours and make it there on time before they closed. Their website/yelp says that they close at 10pm on weeknights. We got there about 9:40 and one of the employees was bringing in their sign so we asked if we could come in for a drink. She said there would be no food service (which was understandable that the kitchen would be closed that late) and then corrected herself after checking with anther employee inside and said they were all closed for the night. She wasn't too friendly about it and didn't apologize even when we asked why they were closing earlier than their posted hours. I don't know why any restaurant would turn away paying customers and close their doors early. Seems like pretty bad service for a neighborhood place that has otherwise gotten good reviews. Don't know if I would be willing to try Amass again given the way we were rudely refused us service.

What a delightfully unexpected culinary experience! This restaurant was nothing short of delightful - definitely a great find in the neighborhood. Two of us shared a lobster roll and two oysters each from the raw selection as our appetizers. Both were great and set high expectations for the rest of the meal. As entrees we had Beef Bourguignon and Coq a Vin. They were exceptional. The chicken in the Coq a Vin was prepared sous-vide - tender, succulent, delicious, with amazing goat cheese puffs and accompanying veggies. The beef was equally delectable, as were the desserts and the cappuccino. This is my new favorite restaurant in the neighborhood - not to be missed. And cocktails are reasonably priced, a big plus in today's high-end restaurant world. You won't be disappointed with Amass if you appreciate exceptional food. Wow.

Amass is hands down the best overall meal I have had in over a year! As a typical highlands foodie, this new spot is the best I've found so far. The food is incredible and reasonably priced. Atmosphere is perfect for a date night or just going out with friends. We got: Apple brussel sprouts salad - light and unique French onion soup - best I've ever had, and I'm one of those people who chooses restaurants based on having French onion soup on the menu, so I've tried quite a few. Salmon entree - salmon was perfectly cooked and the fennel and tepanade sauce brought an amazing balance of flavors Duck confit - hearty and cooked with perfect French technique Sundae with blueberry sauce and popcorn - unique and delicious Can't wait to come back!

Really great team of Hospitality people here- everyone is super nice and really knowledgeable. Interior is beautiful; warm and comfortable. Love their oyster choices, clams cooked with white beans and a chorizo broth- definitely a fav. Must try the lamb with parsnip mash and boysenberry jam- really tasty, great flavors together. The menu reads simple and elegant, prices are fantastic for quality and portion size. Gotta try this place out yall- real neighborhood gem.

First time to this recently opened restaurant and we really enjoyed it. They just started brunch in the last couple weeks and you would never know. The menu is great and every dish that was had at our table was really tasty. Great atmosphere with a friendly staff. I took a look at the dinner menu and I can't wait to come back for it. I definitely recommend stopping by Amass to try out their very unique menu.

New Year's Eve with a friend was lovely. The service was prompt and not intrusive. The waitress did a great job. When I told her we were chilly by the window, she immediately turned up the heat. The prix fixe was full of good choices and I loved the pate and whipped Brie. Both the fish and the poultry were delish. My one complaint would be the amount of salt in the food. The chef should lay off it and trust that the food is flavorful enough without it. Cappuccino was not available as the had no milk! I will be back.

The cuisine here is excellent. I ate here with a group of six for and everyone cleaned their plates. One of our party was not a big fan of Duck, but tried the Duck Confit anyway and loved it. The Bouillabaisse was very popular too. The person that had the Beef Stroganoff said it was the best she had ever eaten. The Mussels and French Onion Soup were delicious as well. The wife and I will definitely be back to try more dishes.

An excellent little French bistro with some classic choices and as well as unique cuisine. There's a wonderful selection of French wine as well as micros for the beer drinkers. The muscles are to die for. I haven't had a bad dish in my three visits. Actually, I think it's way under priced for the quality of food. You must go to Amass!

Amass produced an all-around stellar experience. The server and manager were personable, knowledgable and attentive. Loved the ambiance. Delicious wine and cocktails (HIGHLY recommend the rye cocktail!) most importantly, the food was delicious! Between myself and my companions, we tried the onion soup (YUM), mushroom soup, steak tartare, salmon, coq au vin, duck, and 2 desserts, all of which were great! We'll definitely be back.

We went last night for a nice New Years Eve dinner. For starters they didn't have our reservation for 6 even though we had a confirmation from open table. At first they were very accommodating, even bringing a complimentary round of champagne as we waited for a table. The restaurant is tiny and even has a two top right by a bathroom door. It was odd to watch people squeeze by the couples eating to get into the bathroom. Just hope you don't get that table! We knew going into it that it would be a prefab dinner for New Years. Not our favorite but understand. After being seated at 9 for our 8:30 reservation. We still waited another 20 minutes to order. The choices seemed good so we were all in good spirits. That's until the food started coming out. Lobster roll was mushy and raw tasting, soup was good but half of us couldn't get it because they were out. My apple salad was chopped apples, cheese, and salt. Two Cod entrees came out completely raw (after waiting another hour and only one other table needing service). Dessert was awful. After 3 hours we went home hungry. The waiter was trying his best but seemed overwhelmed. When we complained about our experience and asked to talk to someone no one ever even came out however they did adjust our bill a little. Overpriced, bad food. Won't make it in the neighborhood. Too much good competition.
