This place is yummy and healthy. I like their rice or noodle bowls. Tea is good. Today I tried their surf n turf sushi roll and it was good, probably won't get again though.

I have been eating at TJ's on and off since it originated in '96. Back in the day I was, what they call, an addict. We went there for lunch all the time! Then I lived in a town with no TJ's for years :( However, we have recently been re-acquainted and I forgot how much I enjoy this place. Here's the deal... It's a fast-casual restaurant with very Americanized Asian inspired food at a reasonable price. But, what they really have going for them these days are options... choices... and a reasonably healthy menu (depending how you order). They have also greatly expanded their menu over the years with lots more veggies and sauces to choose from. I don't care what kind of dietary restrictions or limitations you have... veg/vegan, no red meat, gluten free, broccoli hater... you can find something to eat. They also have a small sushi menu. It's a limited fish selection, but they use REAL crab in their California rolls! You hear that all you sushi restaurants serving yucky fake Krab in your rolls??? Why are you letting TJ's show you up? Just saying. So, if your looking for something different, stop in for a roll or build a bowl. It's a great quick, affordable, healthy meal.

The yakitori bowl was not good. It had soggy noodles, undercooked veggies and had this cheap sauce dripped over the top. The sushi (California roll) had a fishy taste to it, not very fresh at all. The only thing that was on par was the miso soup and speedy service. I would go somewhere else for lunch. Not worth it and noodle dish was a total fail.

The food is always excellent and consistent. I've never had a problem with Tokyo Joe's food. My problem right now is the waitstaff. The people behind the counter at this location are the single most unfriendly team I've encountered. I made the mistake of smiling and saying "hi" to two separate people and the immediate response was an expectant stare - no real change in expression, just a bland sort of "I'm waiting for you to order" look. When we actually did order, she handed us our number and water cups and again stared until we sat down. I don't come here often enough to say "oh, I'll never come here again", but this is absolutely a situation where I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed.

Highly disappointed! Green curry had little flavor. Barely any sauce was included. The shrimp had zero seasoning. Won't come back again.

Tried this restaurant for dinner last night with my mom. I was very excited - there aren't many quick-service restaurants that have such a large vegetarian selection. I had a build-your-own-bowl with the curry sauce and noodles. Mom ordered the Boulder Bowl with Teriyaki sauce. They put all the veggies on my bowl, but didn't put any on my mom's, so I ended up sharing. The noodles were completely overcooked, the veggies were not cooked at all (the carrots had absolutely no flavor), the curry sauce tasted nothing like curry, and the teriyaki sauce tasted like soy sauce with corn syrup. Needless to say, we both took a few bites and ended up eating grilled cheese for dinner instead. We will not be back.

Disappointed. I was excited to try this place as my friends raved about it. I was expecting it to be a bit more classy. It was very much fast food. The quality was not great. I tried a California roll. The texture on the Crab meat was like canned tuna fish. I also had the 'build your bowl' with chicken and rice noodles. The noodles were too soft. I do not think I will give it a second try.

Simply put - this place sucks bad! I have only ever been once. I won't ever go back. I was starving when I went so I would have eaten anything. I spent around $15 and was very disappointed with what I got for that amount of money. I foolishly bought some sushi, and had a chicken bowl. I thought that since the sushi was made "fresh" it would be. Wrong!! Bland! Bland! Bland! The bowl was no better. I was hoping my bowl would be overflowing with meat. Instead, it was about 2 cups of rice, few veggies, and about 5 pieces of bite size chicken. I was taken by the feel of the place. It seemed pretty trendy and fun when I walked in. The sauces were awful. Honestly, this place was like non Asian's who have never had Asian food attempting to cook "authentic" Asian food. And to those of you who rated this place good. You need to get out more!!

I chanced upon this friendly place that is delightful for even gluten free and or vegetarian dishes. Very exciting new concoctions as well. Met sushi chef Tyson & his assistant manager Enye from a second location. Even the beer, Fat Tire was reasonably priced. Check it out you'll thank me ... AND the top-notch servers. Came back today and re-ordered the Surf n Turf, Spicey Tuna, PLUS Crab Cheese Wonton - Hadn't tried the Crab Cheese Wonton, which is an exciting blend of real crab mix, wonton strips, cream cheese, avocado, sweet chili sauce, panko crumbs.

Fast and healthy is the name of their game. Boulder veggie bowl is a favorite: tofu, lots of vegetables, brown rice, and the sauce of your choice.

Went with my daughter and grandson. Food was okay. I had the surf and turf sushi. My grandson had Mac and cheese which he enjoyed. Service is okay. I don't like Pepsi products. It was very busy. They had a TV to entertain the kiddos but not in a convenient place.

Sad to say....noodles in th yakitori bowl were cooked to mush. Goyza steamed but not browned. Miso soup..so so. All in all , pretty dissapointing

My husband and I had a late lunch here this past Sunday around 2:00. We ordered sushi and two bowls. Apparently, they strive to make the sushi an appetizer before the rest of your order arrives. We didn't know that, it didn't happen, and we didn't care. When the waitress brought our order to the table, she explained and apologized. The manager also gave us a certificate for a free appetizer for next time. We appreciated that gesture very much even though we didn't expect it. The restaurant itself was clean and trendy. The decor was modern. Now, on to the meal itself. The sushi was similar to what I'd get at King Soopers, but I wasn't expecting anything extraordinary. If I want a sushi experience, I'll go to a sushi restaurant. The bowls themselves were good and filling. Once again, I expected to get what I got, nothing out of this world, but good. In summary, the service was prompt and the food was good. I will definitely return.

It's TJ's of course it's awesome. I'm here so often some of the staff know me by name. TJ's is a healthy staple and bodybuilder friendly! My go to is build your own 1/2 white chickie 1/2 steak no carb steviayki broccoli zucchini snap peas. When I went out of state for a few months I bought a jar of their steviayki and curry to take with. Minor complaints: often when I get my bowls to-go, they give me regular teriyaki not the stevia teriyaki. And why so much more $$$ for the no carb option?? I follow Larry on FB and I see there may be nutella and strawberry rolls and adult rice krispie treats coming soon!

I have been eating at the Pita Pit next door and always see people at Tokyo Joe's. Figured I would try it out in spite of the reviews. I ordered the popular recommended bowl as well as the wonton sushi and it ran me just over $17. I figured it was a bit expensive for a quick lunch but I figured with the amount of people eating there it must be worth it. Unfortunately I feel disappointed as the sushi was bland and on the same level as a grocery market. The noodles were over cooked and for $10 on the bowl it lacked flavor and quantity of both chicken and veggies. I hate to give mediocre reviews but I honestly would pay maybe half the price they charge for the food I got. Maybe $6 for a bowl and a few bucks for the low quality sushi. Ok now for the pro's. Staff was very friendly, the sauce was decent, and the atmosphere was nice. I might give this place another go in hopes for something better next time but with the variety of food places it might be a while. If things change I will definitely update my post as this place looks to have great potential and I would be happy to see them succeed.

Today marked the second time I've dined here. I remember the first time being slightly salty but enjoyable. Today might have been an off day but I don't think I will be back. I ordered the Joe Noodle soup or something like that. It was very pretty to look at and meh to eat. The broth was surprisingly sweet. Maybe hoisin sauced up? The California rolls had an odd floral taste to them. Like the counter had been wiped down with Fabulouso right before the roll was made. Or the person who made them just applied scented lotion. I don't know what it was. I didn't need another bite though. The dining room could use a bit of cleaning too. The overall experience isn't one worth trying again.

Tokyo Joe's was a huge disappointment. I actually went to this place a few years back up near Park Meadows, but I couldn't really remember if I liked it or not. That should have be a huge warning sign to me. This is a new location located near the Lowe's off of Nevada near Austin Bluffs. The restaurant has a sleek modern Asian decor. When you enter, you are funneled down a center aisle which segregates the dining area into two. There isn't a lot of seating. When I ordered I had to briefly wait for someone to leave in order to sit down. The menu consists of sushi, salads and Asian stir fry bowls. I went for a "build your own" bowl. I got white chicken, white rice, dragon sauce and veggies. I also ordered a drink, this cost me right around 10$. The food is plenty. You won't be asking for more (well that's not the only reason you won't ask for more). My bowl consisted of 80% rice. The veggies had obviously been frozen and weren't cooked thoroughly. The chicken was bland and previously frozen as well. A place like Chipotle blows them out of the water, they cook and season all the food in house. The reason I compare them is because they are lunch time competitors. You know what Tokyo Joes reminded me of? Those weight watcher bowls of food that you can buy for 2$ and microwave on high for 5 minutes, and that's being nice. The sauce I ordered was simply described as "hot, hot, hot." Once it came on my food I did not enjoy it, they really need to better the descriptions of their sauces. For the price and quality of the food, I will not return. It's a shame too, I work near to here and if it was even mediocre I would have returned. If you want expensive knock off Asian food, this is your place.

Maybe it was this particular location, but we were not impressed. We ordered the Mahi Mahi and the MoJoe and one kid's noodle bowl. First off, they forgot to put anything but the fish onto the noodles, so we had to return and tell them that they forgot the nuts and the greens. The MoJoe was not bad...nothing special. The kid's noodle bowl was a handful of noodles with Teriaki sauce on the side. We did let the management know about the mess up on the Mahi Mahi bowl. The next day, we got sick in our stomachs. It didn't make for a good impression of this particular restaurant. Won't be back.

Mushy noodles, tofu sushi was gross and lacked flavor.

I love Tokyo Joes. This particular location was a little slow, I waited in line for 10-15 minutes, which is a lot if you are on a lunch break from work. The weirdest thing is that it looked like a staffing problem, like they just didn't have enough people to handle the lunch influx. It kind of makes you wonder how much business they lose because of that. You see people walk in, look at the line, experience cognitive dissonance and think, "You know what... Pita Pit. Yeah maybe I want Pita Pit instead." The positive- this place has great rolls. Whomever is making the sushi rolls very well. Nicely packed, just the right amount of rice.

food was healthy, fast, gluten free options and veggie-lover friendly. kids have option of sweets or fruit with their meal. service was prompt and friendly. outdoor dining available :)

I don't come in during rush hour at lunch or dinner so there's a good possibility that I might be missing experiences that some of the negative reviewers have had, but I've found the staf fhere to be generally helpful, pleasant, even cheerful at times. I have not yet been disappointed at the food quality or value in all my visits to any location over the years. I'm a big fan of the build your own bowl I have tried the sushi and the Gyoza and been happy with both. With a regular sized bowl and a drink I can usually get out for around $10 per meal

My first time trying this restaurant. I was not overjoyed but it was good. The vegetables were practically raw. Not too much sauce so that left the noodles lacking. I think I'll try again but next time I'll try a salad.

My husband and I tried this place based solely on the sign "healthy Asian grill". I was not disappointed at all. This place is great for the healthy active folks out there. Good protein and veggie options.

All Tokyo Joes restaurants are the best Japanese American food. the good is fresh and healthy. My fav is the Mojobowl.

Tokyo Joes was my lunchtime go-to in high school (circa 2000). I was thrilled when it finally landed in the Springs. Joes is your place for healthy, fast Japanese cuisine (note: Japanese does not include fried, heavily salted fare à la Pei Wei). My favorites (with some tips to get the most out of your meal): For a cheaper replica of the Yakitoti bowl, order the white chicken bowl with Yakitoti veggies. I always go the no-carb route (sub all veggies for rice or rice noodles--you'll get a massive bowl of freshly steamed veggies instead of an overwhelming amount of rice). Add a side of rice for a buck or two more. Oyako bowl. Thick noodles in a savory broth. Simple, delicious and perfect for a chilly winter day. Chicken lettuce wraps. Albeit a little pricy and a tad messy, they're a delicious way to do something different for lunch/dinner. Boulder veggie bowl. Lots of rice in this one, but the veggies and tofu are incredibly flavorful. Raw bean sprouts add the perfect crunch factor. Made-to-order sushi: Well worth the wait. Joes roll and Yo roll are perfection. Tips for sauce: Order your sauces on the side. Dragon doesn't pack as much flavor as Yakitoti or Spicyaki. You won't be charged for ordering multiple sides of sauce. Ask for a side of chili paste for extra kick--you won't find this sauce at your typical Asian joint. It's amazing. Did I mention there are six fresh brewed iced teas to choose from? What more can I say? Time to head to Joes!

Location is called Tokyo joes. Didn't think it'd be anything but similar to Tokyo. I served in the military for 7 years and I was stationed there during Iraq. I know what Tokyo is, this restraint doesn't. No napkins no straws, I had to actually put my lips on my cup. Word place beyond existence.
