Great Wall Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

Tried Great Wall Chinese tonight for dinner. We live in the Arista development in Broomfield and always see them over here delivering. We thought they must be decent. I'm pretty sure the price can't be beat. For $22 we got fried rice, sesame chicken entree, four seasons entree, 2 bowls egg drop soup, 4 crab cheese wantons, 2 egg rolls and 2 friend shrimps. The thing is, it's not very good. The wantons and the egg rolls were ok but everything else was just not good. I'm pretty sure they use yellow die to color the egg drop soup and the fried rice, this grossed me out. The food was mushy and just not great chinese food. We made a mistake trying to find something better than Heaven Dragon. We were proven wrong, Heaven Dragon, is the best still in our books.

Love Great Wall! It's much better than the Chinese restaurant that was in the space before it. I eat there at least twice a week. I am working my way through the menu. The appetizers I've had (most of them) are quite tasty. Dumplings, wontons- excellent! The beef stick is tender, cooked perfectly and is like eating an entire steak in portion size. All the soups are terrific- especially the addicting, hearty chicken noodle soup- packed with noodles and big chunks of tender chicken and Chinese veggies. I have to get a large (quart) almost every time (for like $3.25 at that!). My favorite dishes are subgum wonton (which I had never had before so I don't really have anything to compare it to) which is a variety of meats and veggies in a brown sauce with fried wontons, Szechuan chicken, and beef with mushrooms. Like the previous reviewer said, the portions are extremely generous and they often will throw in an extra soup or can of pop. They also include a bag of crispy noodles with almost everything which is a nice touch. Everything is very fresh and not overcooked. Very proper Chinese food! I usually take out my meal and the diners there generally seem to be happily making num-yummy sounds and not saying much. Always a good sign! The seafood dishes are the only thing that haven't knocked my socks off. The shrimp with lobster sauce should be a little thicker and eggier, the scallops and shrimp are kind of average and a little chewy (overcooked) at times. This is the only thing that prevents this place from earning 5 stars. I almost hate to mention it because everything else is a hit. Not that I am more of an expert at Chinese food than they are, but shrimp with lobster sauce is kind of my thing and I eat it everywhere- just sayin'. The family that owns it are super-nice, friendly and gracious. I have dined in only once for lunch and found the service to be wonderful- quick and attentive without hovering or doting and I was not rushed even though it was just me in a booth and the place was filling up. The server even asked if I wanted another Pepsi after I had finished my meal! Though the decor is pretty basic and not much for ambiance, they seem to be getting quite a following. I would only take a date here if she was really into food like me but they do deliver. The prices are very reasonable. For around 17 or 18 bucks I get enough food for 3 meals usually. The chicken entrees start around $7.25. They recently expanded their already extensive menu and I am looking forward to trying the crispy duck for dinner tonight.

Terrible. Worst Chinese food of all time. Epically bad.

We never even got pass the door. WORST customer service ever. Here's how it went- Me: Oooh, it says they're open until 10:30 pm. Yay! Let's get the buffet. Husband: That's great. Yes, let's do the buffet. Me: *opens door, old guy looks up from wiping down buffet counters and gives me a mad look* Old guy: What you want???? Me: Ummmm.....we're here for the buffet....*realizes there is nothing on the buffet* Old guy: No, we no do buffet. Only menu. You only do menu. Only to go! Me: ummmm.....sorry, there was no sign so we didn't know. We thought you were open until 10:30 and it's only 8:30. Old guy: No only to go!!!!! *Angry face* Husband: Let's just leave. They obviously don't want any customers. Me: ok And that is how we barely got pass the door. We were still holding the door open while the old guy yelled at us. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've noticed that most Asian restaurants have horrible customer service. They act like they are doing you a favor by opening their restaurant. Like they are losing money by serving you. Get out of that service if you don't want to deal with customers!! Gosh!! How ridiculous. If this is how they deal with customers, they won't last very long. We are never going back to that restaurant! There are plenty of competition around that we can give our money to.

Their food is unremarkable; It is mostly the usual chinese restaurant selections. A little thai. Not bad, not great. I keep ordering from them because of the convenience of their online ordering system. Last time I placed an order 7:10pm on a sunday night. At about 8:30 I was wondering what was going on. They didn't answer email, or their phone. Left message which wasn't returned. Closed on sunday? Off on a labor day vacation? Closed?

Looks like they are renovating so call before you go... I've been twice before. Pretty good lunch for 6 bucks - soup, eggroll, and entrée. That's a better deal than Panda Express.

They just remodeled, and the place looks so nice! The food in the buffet looks great, but I prefer fresh Chinese food. I love their lunch specials, and at around $6, they can't be beat. Great sesame chicken and Mongolian beef.

They have delivery, even during snowstorms!! Which is great if you don't feel like cooking when your car is buried beneath a winter tundra. The food was also pretty good, the fried rice doesn't contain any veggies so that's a bit disappointing. The rest was great though, we ordered two large soups, which were huge and could easily serve 3-4 each. The egg d drop soup contained little slices of tomatoes, which was interesting.

What can I say about the food...how about IT SUCKS (and so does the customer service)! I ordered Beef and Broccoli and after taking the first bite of the "beef" I knew coming to this restaurant was a bad decision. The "beef" was rubbery and tough...GROSS! I would also not call the "fried rice" that came with the meal fried rice...it would be more accurate to call it off-white rice. Oh yeah...the egg-drop soup was fluorescent orange and they provided no sweet and sour sauce for the gross tasting wontons. I will never return to this place.

Food: *The Fried wings were great. Not moist enough on the inside, but they had a lot of flavor and were very crunchy on the outside (which matters most to me) *The Beef Lo Mein is the best thing I've had here. It is only semi-bland and not as greasy as the rest of the dishes. *The egg drop soup is too thick, and bland. *The food is less than okay, a bit too greasy, even for Chinese. *The Mongolian beef was okay *Egg rolls bland and too greasy *Crab cheese wontons didn't have enough cheese, but were fried well. *Wontron and Hot & Sour soups were bland. *Pu Pu platter was terrible. Knock off friend crab sticks reminded me of tasteless rubber snacks. You know how the kids love tasteless rubber snacks! *Sometimes the food varies; ex: sometimes the egg drop soup isn't super thick. *The fried rice is just browned rice, possibly fried for a few milliseconds (I may be exaggerating slightly) *They have really good candy up front, I just want to run in there and empty that damn candy bowl in my purse, but I, somehow, withhold. Service: *They were rude to me a few times, and I am a repeat customer (only because I work a block away, and am too lazy/busy to go elsewhere) *I've asked for chopsticks a number of times and they seem to forget. Eating *Chinese with a fork ruins the experience for me, but this is a minor set back. ;) *I like that I can order online *Did I mention they are rude. Really Freaking Rude! Prices are good for lunch, but considering quality this place is not worth paying for dinner. Compared to other Chinese places in the Broomfield/Westminster area it is below average. I would recommend making the trip to Lafayette for better quality food and nicer service. There are also much better Chinese restaurants around the 80th & Sheridan/Wadsworth areas. I am confused as to why anyone would rate this place as excellent. I eat asian food as often as i can (yes, i have an Asian fetish), and I think this place sucks a$$. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Okay. I usually wait after several times of ordering from the same place to make sure it's consistent before writing an updated review after a low rating. Well I can literally say since October 13 I've ordered from this place over 13 times and yes I've looked at my CC statement and was shocked, but I been ordering from this place sometimes 3 times a week because their lunch specials are the cheapest and comes with soup an egg roll all for under $6. Sometimes I even get treats like moon cake. YUMMY! I've gotten it about twice dessert like things. I really like the Older chinese man who delivers the phone,he's very sweety and really fast. Since my last review, they have been pretty spot on and the only time I order Chinese lunch elsewhere is because I'm craving chow fun, which I wish these guys would add to their menu.. I say hands down they do have the cheapest prices with a lot of food. Their Hot/sour soup is da Bomb and I always get a large because it warms you up doing cold months and is not spicy at all. I've never eaten at the place, but I am an avid pro at delivery.

Excellent Chinese food! Me being a spoiled New Yorker who was used to great Chinese food when I moved to Colorado I was disappointed with the Chinese food here. Then I moved to Broomfield and found Great Wall and oh man what great food for Colorado Chinese food it reminded me of New York City Chinese food ordered there a bunch of times and will continue to do so in the future

This was our first delivery it was fast hot fresh & oh so yummy the potstickers were perfect the hot & sour & the wonton soup just what we needed Eddie got pork fried rice (no onions for those of you who know dr ed) it was very flavorful I got general taos it was spicy & sweet the egg rolls were just greasy hot goodness I saved the lo mien for my lunch tomorrow! The delivery driver was so nice. the price was very good all in all for a wednesday night quick dinner it was perfect try this one I know you will like it.

The food was delivered very quickly - so that was good. Also, the delivery driver was super nice. Another plus. But the food was just mediocre. The chicken fried rice is very pale in color and it needs more flavor. I ordered the Teriyaki chicken and when I was serving it I couldn't for the life of me remember what I had ordered just by looking at it- that's how not chicken teriyaki like it looked to me. The sauce was reddish and it was very sweet. The vegetables were super mushy. All in all, it wasn't terrible, but I think they need to add more flavor to their food.

I visited one of my best friends up in Broomfield the other night for a belated birthday celebration. After a night of extreme drinking, we woke up tired and hungry. He suggested we get something to delivered and instead of the proverbial pizza, went for some Chinese. Great Wall is the first thing that popped up on yelp, so I went with it. We ordered more than we needed and spent around 50 bucks. It was pretty hard to understand the lady on the phone, and she messed up putting my card in, and (now I am guessing here) for the mistake they threw in a TON of free food: Large egg drop, Large hot and sour, chicken balls, and friend shrimp. The hot and sour was pretty good, I enjoyed it. The fried shrimp were great, and so were the chicken balls. My entre's were orange chicken and kung pao chicken. The orange was not that great. The kung pao wasn't the best but was by far from the worst. We also got pot stickers and those were great. All the app's were awesome, the entre's could have been better. The rice had no flavor and seemed like it was just colored yellow. For 50 bucks I was expecting a little better quality but the quantity was awesome. I did finish eating some of it today and it was ok the next day. I will say their service is excellent and the driver was super friendly.

Best Chinese food deal for lunch in Broomfield. $4.60 with tax gets you a ton of good - soup, rice, wontons, entree, etc. if you pick the lunch special, which rotates through a weekly list of entrees...

Schezwan Chicken sauce was the spiciest I've ever had! And not in a good way. Don't mind hole-in-the-wall atmosphere if the foods amazing. But this one might need some work. The chicken doesn't seem cooked all the way and the veggies needed some more time too. The egg drop looked questionable. The wontons were very icky, bad flavor and had clearly been sitting for a while. The best part of my lunch was the fortune cookie! :-/.

This place has awesome affordable Asian-American food (think Kung Pao Chicken rather than Beijing Duck). The owner(s) and employees are great and super friendly. Great Wall quickly fell into our regular lunch rotation. I almost always get the Singapore Chow Mei Fun. You should too.

I have eaten here twice. The first time, I ordered a Thai curry dish. It was rather bland. The leftovers the next day tasted better. The second time, my husband and I had Chinese food. He ordered orange chicken, and I had the sesame chicken. The only difference between the 2 dishes was that orange chicken had onions and red chili peppers and the sesame chicken had sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Not terribly tasty. Their hot mustard is rather mild, and the roast pork fried rice served with their combination dinners seemed to be missing the pork. The employees were friendly enough, but service is about as mediocre as the food. Their prices are cheaper than other Chinese food restaurants in Broomfield, but their food is not as good.

So good! They have enormous portions, well worth the money. I had never had egg drop soup with tomatoes before, it definitely added a good taste.

Decent food but a great value. Still on a hunt for a truly great hole in the wall chinese place in the broomfield area. Again, not bad at all for the price. In fact very good for the price. Like most people have noted, $4 and change can net you quite a bit here.

Apple Maps did us wrong by telling us there was a Pei Wei in the area. WRONG. So we settled for Great Wall just trying to find something decent and we were pleasantly surprised. Good value, decent food, friendly service but with a average atmosphere. We got out of for under $20 (tip included) with two take out boxes of food. Good people watching too since most of the cliental was made up of ppl that you'd see at Walmart. I certainly wouldn't take a 1st date here but it's good eats on the cheap and better then many low budget chinese restaurant options I've eaten at. I'd go here again...especially since they were playing Cobra and Mars Attacks on the DVD with Chinese subtitles.

Will the Great Wall fall? It did last night. This was not my first time here, and previous visits were better. This night my co-conspirator and I ordered Twice-cooked pork and Kung Pao Gee Ding (a/k/a Kung Pao Chicken in English). It took the order-taker several hundred milliseconds to realize I was ordering in Mandarin. Both dishes were quite a bit more greasy than on the last visit, but otherwise fine. The phones were ringing off the wall with take-out orders, but no one else ate in. We were treated as second-class customers. No crispy egg-noodles, no duck-sauce, no mustard, no water was brought to the table. When I asked for the discount banner (see photo) that was not prominently placed on one of the restaurant's outside walls, I received an argument that ended in outright refusal. "You didn't order drinks" I was told. The banner said nothing about drinks. Prices were not so great (lunch prices are better). $7.50 to $7.95 for an entree with oily fried rice and nothing else. It seemed as though hard times had caught up with the place and were threatening to overwhelm it. Hopefully, they were just having a bad night. Recommendation: try lunch, not dinner.

really quick delivery very happy with that. the food was mediocre. the chicken lo mein could have had more flavor. I was expecting cold wontons but was suprised with hot ones so that made me happy. The hot and sour soup was ok needed to have a little kick to it and could have used some flavor but i was overall satisfied with my experience,

We tried this place for the first time and we wont be going back. Ordered for pick up, the food was done quickly and it was hot so that was a plus. While waiting i got tied up by a spring and poked with tooth picks by two little boys. Im not complaining though because i was not trying to eat and it was entertaining as i waited. I did have to say no a few times and not one adult came out to check on them. Anyway, the hot and sour soup was very good and so was the lo mein! But the rest not so much. The general tsos chicken, which i was craving, was dissapointing. Very tough and too sweet, not at all what i was use to. The rest we ate just didnt do it for us either.

So went back to try Great Wall today for lunch and sorry but never again will this place get my money. The service was lousy as I sat there waiting for a menu, sat there waiting for my soup which came 5 minutes after my entree, waited for the check paid got my change then waited for the correct change. The food was just as poor. The hot and sour soup was bland and almost dirty tasting, the chicken was underdone and the rice was mushy and wet. The food prices have gone up as chicken with snow peas is now $5.50 + tax. Save your money for frozen Chinese food. Better value and taste. Sorry Great Wall but you are out after strike 2.

This is my favorite Chinese food delivery. I usually get the steamed chicken with mixed vegetables with garlic sauce. It is delicious. They have other sauces that you can choose from. I love the brown sauce as well. It is healthy steamed and the sauce is spicy and flavorful. They have a speedy delivery.

Driving by and stopped to get something to go. First impression...the place is filthy. I should have just turned and walked out the door at that moment. I ordered a spicy beef dish, hot/sour soup, eggroll and crab wontons. The soup tastes like water, the eggroll had mushy broccoli in it, the wontons were ok and beef dish was barely warm. One of the worst Chinese resturants I have ever been to. Don't waste your money....I just threw $20 in the toilet.

Great Price for Lunch Specials! Soup+ 2 Wonton + Entree with Fried/Plain Rice = all for $4.25 + Taxes. Cant beat the price and the food. Service is fast.

I have ordered from them twice for delivery. First time sweet and sour chicken was so fried it melted through the foam container and when you bit into it the only thing you got was fried dough. The second time we ordered it took an hour and 45 minutes (we live 5 mins away) and after the girl yelling with her boss while I was on the phone they said its coming well it came finally and they told me they would refund my credit card. 3 days later no refund so I called back and they said they never said that and I misunderstood them. Decent only if you dine in otherwise they are horrible!

This is my favorite chinese restraunt in Broomfield. The staff are always friendly, the food hot and delicious, and (best of all) they always throw in a suprise treat -free drink, soup, etc.

I've eaten at Great Wall four or five times, always for lunch. In fact, I have ordered only off of the lunch special menu ($4.25 or $4.50 includes soup and cream cheese wontons). Every time I've come away quite happy. At so many other Chinese restaurants I've tried locally, the food is swimming in a homogenous corn starchy liquid - not at Great Wall where each different recipe is identifiably unique. The meats are always tender including the twice cooked pork I stole from my buddy's plate. The vegetables are fresh tasting too, and not over or undercooked. The fried rice is tasty without being greasy. Service is personable and quick - I never have difficulty enjoying my meal and getting back to my office on time. Now that I've read some other reviews, I think I need to explore off the lunch specials menu! Can't wait to try out the bo-bo platter...

So, I've not only been back to Great wall, but I've ordered delivery from them too. If anything, each new thing we try there is better than the last. While I love Heaven Dragon, I believe Great Wall has replaced it in my affections. I also noticed that people at other tables were loudly exclaiming over the food, and complimenting the cook and staff. This is a small family-run business, and it's possible to see the pride they take in everything. A friend ordered the large won-ton, which is a meal in itself, and it was some of the best we've ever tasted. I ordered the Garlic Chicken, and was sad when I became too full to eat any more. The dinner portions, by the way, are huge. A friend ordered the Moo-Goo-Gai-Pan, and it was like old times. The "crystal sauce" (pale white sauce) was rich and flavorful. What really strikes me is that the vegetables are so good! I am, I admit, one of those people who takes a couple tastes of veggies in Chinese food, then eats mostly the meat and rice. Not here! Everything is fresh and high-quality, spiced to perfection, and cooked perfectly. Even things I normally wouldn't eat, I polish off my plate. If you look back over the counter, you can see the immaculate kitchen. When they bought the place, they expanded it. The owner/chef clearly is a professional, who knows how to set up a kitchen. This is definitely going to be my comfort-food place-of-choice.

  • Dave B.

My entree was outstanding, appropriately spicy and fresh. The hot and sour soup the same. That's the good news. The fried rice and cream cheese wontons were correspondingly bad, unfortunately. The rice was more dyed than fried, and the cream cheese in the wontons was curdled, no kidding. I was there right at 3:30 (end of lunch), so I can see how the cream cheese might have gone over, but I think the rice is the regular fare. I do not know if I will give them another try, but if I do, I will go at noon and see if they can do a bit better.

Great Wall has been completely remodeled and they added 3 rows of buffet stations that have every Chinese food dish you can think of including the popular soups. The buffet is all you can eat for a very reasonable price and fast! They also have the traditional menu if you prefer ordering a specific dish. I think Great Wall is now the best Chinese resturant in Broomfield. They basically doubled the size of the resturant and the new expanded dining room is very nice, and much more upscale. I was able to grab a bunch of great dishes off the buffet to go, and was back at my house in 15 minutes. They also deliver, but I liked grabbing the variety off the buffet and taking it home. Definitely give them a try for lunch or Dinner!

I think I'm about done trying this place out, solely because the General Tso's and similar chicken dishes (i.e. sesame and orange) always comes out too tough. It gets to a point where my jaws are just too tired to keep going. And forget about trying it the next day. I will say that I REALLY liked their Mongolian beef. I enjoy the hot and sour soup and the lo mein. The online ordering system is also very convenient. This just isn't the place for my General Tso cravings.

Its okay food. Everything seemed refried! I ordered a shrimp dish and when it came out it looked yummy but when i took a bite of the shrimp, it was rubbery. It almost bounced around my mouth. & the noodles, dont know why it was hard to chew. Aren't noodles supposed to be soft? They had no customers beside me & my friend & some kids who im guessing are the owner's sons inside the restaurant. You can see the kitchen from outside too! Come on guys step it up please! This area needs a good chinese place! Glad to see another new indian restaurant open next door in the same complex! Checking them out next. Happy eating =)

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
