Love Brothers BBQ! One of my favorite places to hit up on Thursday because they have a special on the wings. The sauces are always hot and spicy the way I like it. The best part is that during happy hour for beer its buy one get one free. What a deal!!!! I would recommend those of you who love BBQ visit this joint. :)

As another reviewer noted, the bbq is hit or miss. I've been here twice now and the first time I had excellent brisket and ribs. The second time I had very dry chicken and lukewarm and tough brisket. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and enjoyed it although it was lukewarm as well. The side items are consistently delicious, however, but that's not why anyone comes to a bbq restaurant. Also, I sent my wife in to investigate the women's restroom and she didn't observe any of what a previous reviewer said.

The bbq is kinda hit and miss. On my first visit, the cue was really good. Good flavor, tender, smoky. On the second visit, the cue was dry, and kinda stale. Did they give me yesterday's batch? I dunno, but it was bad enough that I will not come back. Service is so so. I think this is a friends and family run kinda place. They don't show enough appreciation for the customer. Well, too bad cos there are many other restaurants in the area that offer a more hospitable and welcoming environment.

Well we got the call. A buck a bone and a buck a beer. I thought I was in Q heaven. Walked in perused the menu and saw what a screaming deal we were getting, the normal price for a single rib is $2.49! Out came the piles of bones of the moo and oink persuasion and I was ready. At least until the first bite. Bummer, but what was I expecting for only a buck. Done but undercooked pork ribs that I would be embarrassed to serve. No bark, moist from being steamed I'd imagine and tough as any $2.00 steak from any greasy spoon breakfast joint with about as much flavor. The beef ribs were better but also were undercooked. Tough as jerky but at least with a crust with some flavor happening. Well usually any BBQ joints saving grace is a good disguise sauce. A six-pack of sauces were delivered with the ribs. I grabbed the "hot" squeeze bottle and puddled it on my plate (damn I hate sticky condiment containers and all of these were beyond sticky. They were icky-sticky. The kids at the next table were covered up to their elbows in sauce with ribs in one hand and Q sauce bottles in the other. Come on guys it's flu and bug season, wipe these puppies down every once in a while, please.). I tried them all and thought the "hot", "original", and "Carolina" were okay with a strong hint of celery salt in the O and C and some odd chunks of something in the hot. The mustard and overly sweet honey sauces were a pass for everybody at our table. We tried the slaw (okay), the potato salad (naw, sorry. Too sweet with not much else happening.) and the fries (which like Brandon said are very good. Maybe not the best in town, but good.). I don't care for "sweetened teas" (I am Asian, and to me that's like milk and sugar on rice. Would you put milk and sugar on a baked potato?) but they do have a good bar and Fat Tire on tap. In BBQ competitions, there are usually three categories for meats; Spare Ribs, Beef Brisket, and Other with spare ribs and brisket being the most competitive. The perfect rib doesn't fall off the bone. It has to have a gentle resistance to being pulled off the bone and be moist, meaty and tender. It needs to be flawlessly carmelized on the outside, have a nice "smoke ring" or the penetration of smoke flavor into the meat (there are ways to cheat on the "ring" though, bbq.about.com/od/barbecu… ) and the best have either a combination of a rub (dry or wet) and marinade or just one or the other to enhance the flavor of the meat. Brisket should be moist and tender with a good "bark" and flavor in the heart of the meat, not just on the outside. Prized among BBQ'ers are the "burnt ends" of a brisket which are the thinner pieces of the roast that have the most carmelization and therefor the most flavor. Brining is a common way to impart flavor and moistness to a brisket along with rubs and injectable marinades. I love Q. This Bro's ain't doing it for me.

Again, this is one of those instances where I'd like to add in a half a star. Three stars for me is getting what you expect. Four is being very impressed for whatever reason. I got more that I expected, in that the service was outstanding. Still, I can't shake this feeling that, well, it's about what I expected. I had the pork sandwich, which fits nicely into my grand plan of breaking the 300 point barrier on my next cholesterol test. It came naked on a decent bun - nothing special... About what I expected. They had a variety of sauces, though the hot sauce was not particularly hot. You know, about what I expected. So, 3 and 1/2 stars. If you have a hankerin' for some 'Q', it's a fast, affordable stop.

I've eaten here a dozen times or so, and I'm always thoroughly satisfied with the food. The staff is laid back, but quick and accurate with the orders. They have 4 kinds of bbq sauce which I enjoy mixing for different tastes (they taste great on their own as well). I always get a mix of meats like a two meat sampler then an extra qp of sausage links. Or for party's I've gotten the GameDay pack and the double sampler (makes for happy party patrons). Grab some wet wipes from the drink station, things can get messy.

Quite simply = Best BBQ ive had in Denver area so far!!! Had the pulled pork sandwich - shredded perfectly. And the sauces were ALL on point!

3.5 this first time at Brothers BBQ in Broomfield for me. In fact it was indeed my first time trying any of the Brothers chain. My mom and brother used to go to one of the Brothers BBQs in Denver; probably the one on Leetsdale, and they liked it pretty well. Well, first I will say that I went to a total vegetarian diet since mid-June and hope to stick to that, well---forever. Really do. I am happy to say that, unexpectedly, this Brothers has BBQ tofu on their menu. And frankly, the preparation is good....the taste and texture were quite good. With a lot of the sauce from the purple-topped container on our table the tofu made a decent dinner Friday night. On my own I might never have ventured into this place. But some people were going out after a meeting and I'm glad I got to try it. Loved the BBQ tofu. The portion which was supposed to be 1/2 pound though could not possibly have weighed that much. I wish I had brought it to the counter to be weighed, but that would have made a scene, and I was not in the mood for scene-making-not at all. With the BBQ tofu I chose mashed potatoes which were mashed skin-on red potatoes. They were good. No gravy of course. Which was fine. The green salad was also good. Nothing bad here really. Decor reminded me of a place I went to once down in Austin, TX in the 70s. I also liked the re-do inside...still remember the Village Inn that once occupied this building for many years...the outside is not much different but I did like the inside. It's so funny to me that BBQ tofu is really not available at BBQ places in Boulder where there are so many vegetarians, yet in Broomfield...there it is--unexpectedly. Very cool.

Not sure which was worse, the food or the condition of the patrons. Ordered 1/2 rack and burnt ends. The ribs were poorly cooked and poorly seasoned. It was more like chewing gum when it should be fall off the bone tender. The burnt ends should have been cooked better to create a nice carmelization as advertised. All the sauces were one-noted. Pro: really neat table tops. Would definitely recommend not utilizing an electric smoker for good BBQ.

Good Spot for Grub! We had a hankering for some BBQ and went on yelp to see what we could find. We've been to many a place nearby but decided to venture to another city to see what goodies they had in store for us. I wasn't too thrilled about the review but thought we should give it a try anyway. The place is super casual with a fairly unique set up. They have a bar area and dining room area which is nice but could have been set up a little differently. I guess they had to work with what they got ;) You order up front and they bring your food out. Easy & casual.. I love it! The lighting was a little dim which doesn't really compliment the whole eco-chic vibe of the metals décor. I think they need to brighten things up to make their guest experience more appealing. Nonetheless, the food was pretty good. Everything was hot and meat was moist. I have no complaints since I've never been to Texas or wherever else BBQ is their thang. Grab a sauce caddy and go to town! The pricing was reasonable. They also have packages or family packs that set you up with a lot of different meaty and side-y selections. Regardless of your preference, they have your BBQ needs covered. The friendly staff can help you through any difficult decision. Not the best but I can definitely do it again.

Last two times my family and I ate here the BBQ was fair to horrible. My boy's ribs were charred. Returned them and the new plate was almost as bad. The lady said that since they are frozen that is how they come out. Ridiculous excuse! I won't be going back and they pissed me off enough, I go out of my way to tell others to avoid this place.

Brothers BBQ is some of the best BBQ in Denver. They have received awards from 5280 numerous times! Their ingredients are slow smoked and aways very fresh! I usually get their Southern Salad with BBQ chicken. The chicken is outstanding. My husband usually gets "The Brother". This has a thin layer of smoked and grilled hot link, slow smoked Pulled Pork, topped with creamy coleslaw and tangy BBQ sauce, jalapeños and fries onions. This melts in your mouth! You can't go wrong with any of their meats! They are known for their special BBQ sauces. I love the Carolina Mustard sauce. If you are in the mood for great BBQ you have to try Brothers.

The food was ok...typical BBQ (I'm not the biggest BBQ fan to begin with). The driver behind the low rating is the women's bathroom. Disgusting! There are 2 toilets in the bathroom with no partition wall between them. It was clear it hasn't been cleaned in a few days. If you plan on eating here, don't go in the bathroom first or at all. The golden arches bathroom next door is much nicer.

I grew up in Kansas City, so I have been spoiled by good BBQ for most of my life. This place isn't as good as the best in KC, but for Broomfield, its pretty freaking great. I like the brisket, burnt ends, potato salad, and their fries. Seriously, they may have the best fries in Denver. Seriously yum!

I won't be back. Had a serious taste for some BBQ after work and the place I really wanted to try was out. I always pass Brothers going to and from work so I thought I'd give it a try for at least some basic BBQ satisfaction. Even though I never saw cars parked there I figured there could be many reasons why other than the food was subpar. I ordered the pork ribs, beef brisket, mac & cheese, and fries. The fries were good, mac & cheese looked and tasted of the instant variety, but not bad. Now to what I came here for...the MEAT... I don't know who the brothers are who started this restaurant but they sure ain't "brothas". I hated the sauce. I'm from L.A. and maybe the sauce fits a particular BBQ region so I won't be too hard on it. They supply plenty of sauce of different flavor varieties and spicyness. That's actually a cool thing. Now the meat...it was all tender but seemed to lack any kind of real BBQ flavor. You know...like backyard BBQ. It was downright bland! After I was done (emphasis on "I", but notice I didn't say "it"), I wished I had just gone to King Soopers and got some Lloyds BBQ from the refrigerated section. No, Lloyds is not great, but it sure beats this place and is a whole lot cheaper. I even wished I got a McRib at the McDs next door. Yeah. That disappointed.

This place is just consistently good. They have a variety of bbq sauces and meats to put them on. Make sure you specify what sauce you want, otherwise they will just put their standard sauce pairing on your food. The pulled pork is fantastic, as are the brisket and ribs. The mashed potatoes and gravy are delicious as well. The Macaroni and Cheese is a bit bland and runny for my taste. Happy hour specials like 2-for-1 beers (even on weekends) and it's proximity to the 1st Bank Center make it a great pre-show/game spot for dinner and drinks.

I love Brother's BBQ. Definitely better than KT's up the street. The Brother sandwich is amazing, and their hot link sausage is better than anywhere else I've ever had. They are smart to slice the hot link then throw it back on the grill, which just adds more flavor. Their beans are disgusting, and taste like they took a can of beans and added 500 cans of BBQ sauce. All I taste is BBQ sauce, and no beans. My other problem is that I often like to get just a chicken sandwich and a side of hot links. That's almost $13 without a drink. I just don't see the value in a $10 chicken sandwich, so I don't eat there nearly as often as I would like to.

Of course you don't expect suburbia to offer many well executed dishes and this place completely met my expectations. After much consideration we landed here and I was immediately turned off by the decor and cleanliness of the place. Decided to give it try and hope to find a "gem" in the neighborhood based on their food - no go. The meat was dry with some pieces burnt. Sauces were average and I really have no reason to ever return to this place.

When we placed a large takeout order on Mother's day, the gentleman who took our order was professional and when we arrived, the restaurant was very clean and the order was both ready and correct. Unfortunately, that's the best thing I can say about the experience. We had the "pulled pork" and beef brisket with potato salad. The "pulled pork" had the appearance of oily sawdust with bits of burned woodchips. I would have had to use 3x the quantity of barbecue sauce allotted to make it edible, and I don't like to use much sauce. The brisket was better (moist, and had the appearance of pot roast), but not memorable. The sauce was good--not syrupy sweet. However, the potato salad was far too sweet for my liking. The buns were of a higher quality than I've seen at other establishments, similar to soft Kaiser rolls. I will not go back to Brother's Barbecue in the future unless I am looking for really expensive mulch for my flower beds.

Not the best bbq in the Denver area, but it's reasonably close to us and the foods decent.

Always been a big fan of pulled pork, theirs is the best. The Brothers sandwich is killer.

Ok I had a hankering for some BBQ, Brothers was close so we thought we would try it Welllllllll it was a major let down. First the were out of pulled pork which is what I really wanted so I went to my second choice which was burnt ends but they were out if that too. So I went with the Chicken and man o man I was glad I had tea to drink because it was DRY. The mac and cheese should be renamed to just mac it had no flavor at all. The potato salad I swear I have tasted it before at King Soopers. I think that they need to watch Pit Masters and get some Ideas. I also think there staff took personality classes from Wednesday from the adams family their all missing them.

Pretty Good BBQ. I particularly like the hot link and the ribs. The brisket is the shredded kind not the slices. The banana pudding is awesome. It is not on the menu though. It's a little pricey but other than that its a great place to get BBQ.

  • John G.

Fantastic BBQ! I always get their pulled pork with hot link. The pulled pork is almost always amazing. However one time it was very very fatty. The hot link is great with just the right amount of kick. The fries are basically perfect in every way good crisp and meatyness to them. Amazing beans with chunks of pork and everything in it. They are the best! The price of the food is very very reasonable, a great place to enjoy some great food. Plus the service is fast and good. Also they have four or so different kinds of BBQ sauce all of them are great to use. Never had their ribs or brisket but they do look good.

On Friday evening of December 4th 2009, after running around for some errands in this part of the neighborhood, "starving" and cant decide where to go, Hubs drive up to this Brothers BBQ location. I thought it would be just like the Leetsdale location... but when I enter inside, boy am I wrong, they have a BIGGER place to dine in. That's a thumbs up in my books. This time around, I decide to order the BEEF RIBS that I have been craving for, since my last trip at the Leetsdale location. I cant recall what Hubs order was but if I am not mistaken this was it : * Fries * Beef Briskets * Chicken * Potato Salad As for me I opt for the 1/2 Slab Special with 5 Beef Ribs. My order comes with buns, 2 Sides which I choose Mashed Potato with Gravy and Chips. But if I am not mistaken, they give me extra ribs, I guess they calculate by the pound?? I like the Beef Ribs and the Mashed Potatoes, but so wish the Mashed Potatoes with gravy could be in a bigger portion. As for the Beef Ribs, its the BIGGEST Beef Ribs I ever eaten in my entire life. I bet its a BIG HUGE FREAKING COW, they may have slaughter and the Beef Ribs I have for that evening. Since its all messy what not, I decide to pack up the leftovers Beef Ribs, home.. Unfortunately, for this time around, Hubs is not happy with his order, coz the Beef Biskets, and the Chicken were cold once it was served to us. The fries were hot from the fryer though. So its a toss between 2.5 to 3 stars due to Hubs not having his meals HOT.

Food was good, lots of sauces to choose from, plenty busy, nice atmosphere. I was ready to spend about $20 for a combination plate, but I was explained that only the smaller $8 plate was available with ribs and pulled pork. That seemed really stupid to me that they turned away money.

Brother's is my place to go for Beef Backs. They are wonderful. I appreciate all their other BBQ but hands down their beef backs are the best around. Service has always been a factor of my ratings and Brothers goes out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. The last time I visited (for the beef backs) for lunch they had had an "incident" with their smoker and did not have their beef backs available. I have to say I was a bit bummed and the guy at the desk obvioulsy noticed and gave me a ticket for a free meal. This is the type of service that wins customers! Bottom line all BBQ is solid but the Beef Backs are the bomb! cheers Steve

I love eating here. Everything they have on the menu is delicious. From pork ribs to tofu, I live it all. They have a big ball of fries. No kidding its the size of a basketball. Their Carolina mustard sauce is amazing. Their coleslaw is delicious. Friendly staff that remember me :) its my go to BBQ.

So this is really a review about ALL of the Brother's BBQ joints....this place is on my list of food places that I must revisit when I go home. Typically I go to the Broomfield location, thus my review here :) I used to highly suggest going to any Brother's BBQ''s to any person going to Colorado. There I said it. My only real issue is that the consistency of the meat is starting to be an issue. It used to be that no matter which location, time of day, or menu item, you knew that you would be consuming high quality food. As much as this pains me to say, this...this is really no longer the case. I suspect it's because they offer so many selections now that the time and attention necessary for truly glorious BBQ is divided amongst its many offerings. But still, the meats are tasty, moist, and flavorful the majority of the time. It's not really award winning BBQ as it's not a typical BBQ style....it's a funky mismatch of all the great styles out there! The ribs are almost always juicy, full of meat, and fall of the bone with a bite. Even though the hot links are really just spicy Kielbasa, they are gooooood. I love the pork and am totally biased to its awesomeness. I don't really like brisket, no matter how it's prepared/sliced. Anything else they offer is new from their original menu and IMHO I have never been impressed with these items. The desserts used to be spectacular and locally made. I'm not sure what happened, but they are quite forgettable now. I still love the coleslaw (not too much dressing, not too creamy), potato salad (a tiny bit of mustard), and fries (hearty and not too thin) Just a disclaimer, I am waaaaaaay biased towards vinegar sauces. As such, I think this place does make tasty sauces, and I love the fact that you can mix and match them for the optimum sauce - personally I like 1/5 original, 3/5 vinegar, and 1/5 hot. The ranch BBQ is amazing for their salads and as a fry dipping sauce. Quite simple, but sooooooo good. Not all of the sauces are heavy on the vinegar, but most are. All in all...I still go because I have fond memories of eating here. It's solid, but no longer the best to be had.

Great meat. Ribs, pulled pork, brisket, sausage. All of it's good. Horrible sides. I'm pretty sure the macaroni and cheese was just Kraft. My kid still liked it though. Baked beans weren't special either. Kinda expensive too.

If you've read my other reviews, you already know I'm originally from Kansas City and I love me some BBQ. My wife and I decided to try Brothers. We were both craving ribs. Brothers advertises they do ribs St. Louis style. Well, I've never had ribs like these in STL. These were better!!! Ribs I've had in STL were always bathing in sauce. Yuk. I'm from KC. Give me the straight meat. I'll put my own sauce on. We had the pork ribs and they were juicy, smokey and yummy. Their sauces were also spectacular. I liked the 'hot' and the 'original' the most. My wife liked the 'original' and the 'Tangy Vinegar' style. All of their sauces were good representations of sauces you would find in KC, Texas, Memphis, Georgia and the Carolinas. Now, my review is based solely on the ribs. If I was to rate the ribs only, then 5 stars all the way. Next time, I will try the hot links, my second favorite bbq item.

Brother's is some of the best BBQ around...if you go on the right day. I have been there on several different occasions and try to go right around lunchtime to get the best, most juicy, flavorful meats. I would say about half the time, it is unbeatable! Their rub on the ribs is perfect! The sides are pretty good...again most of the time. Their motto is they would be happy to eat anything they serve, however I have an extremely hard time believing they would eat that mac n cheese sometimes. It can be great sometimes, and other days, the noodles are in a water with cheese flavoring. On a good day, the ribs fall right off the bone as they should, but other days, they are tough, and hard to eat simply because they weren't smoked long enough. This place is hit or miss anymore, but when it is good, it is very hard to beat.

Brothers BBQ was started by some good ol' boys, never meaning no harm. Like any good ol' boy, you have your choice of pork, brisket, or chicken sandwiches or "meat plates" with standard sides like potato salad and coleslaw. To satisfy your liquid lusting, brothers also has a full bar to boot. My BBQ chicken sandwich was pretty disappointing. I expected shredded chicken parts soaked in savory BBQ goodness, but what I got was a pile of dry chicken blandness stacked on a bun. Fortunately my girlfriend ordered a huge plate of brisket, which was smoky with a delicate but distinctly flavored dry rub. To spice up your meat, you get to choose between four sauces, all of which are conventional but tasty. I recommend mixing the spicy with the vinegar sauce for pure BBQ goodness. If all I had was the chicken, I would have walked away very disappointed. But Brother's brisket redeems the joint. You would do well to order the brisket too, but before you order a soft drink, do note that the only fresh iced tea available is "sweat tea."

Great BBQ joint in the area. I like how they serve the ribs naked, no sauce so I can pour the amount of BBQ sauce to my liking. They do have 4 different special sauces to choose from, but my favorite was their spicy sauce. Every time I come here, I try something different and the food/service has never disappointed me. My last visit, I had their specialty Brother sandwich. All the ingredients were perfect, hot links, pulled pork and tangy sauce. If you are ever in the area, Brothers BBQ is must have for lunch or dinner!!

If you have a craving for BBQ while in Broomfield, go to Brothers. It is real good for local BBQ .The meat is flavorful and bountiful. The BBQ meat doesn't taste like it has been reheated (which is always a no-no with BBQ) The sides are all good. I've been there many times and it hasn't disappointed me yet.

pricey for the amount of food and quality. A good place for a quick BBQ fix... but nothing special. It's a franchise... taste like a franchise.

I thought the shredded chicken sandwich was ok - I feel that their sauces make the sandwich! I think I've been spoiled with my husband's grilling... With that, I'm not the biggest BBQ fan, so even if it was perfect/amazing, it really has to be a craving to hit the spot.

I've lived across the street from Brothers and worked 5 minutes away so needless to say, I've sampled the menu pretty extensively. I went today to take-out some food for lunch with a co-worker and figured I'd review Brothers with BBQ sauce still on my face. Today I got 1/4 lb of chicken and 1/4 lb of the brisket + the Carolina Mustard BBQ sauce and my homie got the Brother sandwich (I am always jealous of this sandwich but never order it because without a bun, it would just be so, so sad). My brisket was smoky and had a lot of those 'endsies' pieces that are slightly charred and chewy - I love finding those bites amidst a juicy, slow cooked pile of meat. The chicken was good, too. I also really appreciate that Brothers uses Red Bird chicken - not that anti-biotics and growth hormones aren't the PERFECT side dish for BBQ! I have tried all of the different sauces at Brothers and the Carolina Mustard is hands down my favorite. Plenty of vinegar but also plenty of mustard flavor as well. So why three stars? I've had one too many stomach aches post Brothers. One night I got really excited about the $1 ribs, had a few and did NOT sleep I felt so ill. Fast-forward about a month and I got really excited AGAIN about $1 ribs and had the same result :( The sides are okay, I often wish they had collard greens or green beans but definitely try the fries. They make them to order, I've NEVER had a soggy/cold/non-crunchy fry here.

Being from Memphis, I'm always hunting for decent BBQ and tried out this location over a year ago and was happy enough with it to go back...that said...seems to have gone down hill of late, the pork was mediocre and the portions of sides comical for the price...and it wasn't particularly expensive! Overall vibe of we don't care other than to shovel something onto a plate, collect money and keep them moving...disappointing.
