We were craving for comfort food, burger to be exactly! Glad we tried this place! My green chile bison burger was amazing. The portion was gigantic, and my bison burger was perfectly cooked. The place was crowded, but we're so blessed that we got seated right away! The dipping sauce choice was great!! Had the jalapeno ketchup and wasabi mayo! Wasabi mayo was great!

Must visit in Breck! Family of 5 we tried the chili, fish taco, green chili burger, mushroom and Swiss burger, and kids chicken nuggets - it was all AMaZInG down to the kids chicken. Mango chutney was yum, fries won out over onion rings at our table but still a must try - great fast, fun, and really delicious!

Great burgers, yummy dipping sauces, and a great patio for those sunny spring days. Pricey but good drinks.

Stopped by empire burger a few days ago while staying in breck with some friends this past week. It took us about 25 minutes to get a seat due to the vast amount of tourists in town that week but they have a full size bar with good house margaritas that helped the time pass by a bit faster. The menu was on par with most burger joints offering your basic burgers, fries, chicken tenders...etc. One thing they did have that my friends enjoyed was about 20-30 different sauces that you could choose from for various dipping (but they did charge extra I think 70 cents for more than one.) I'm not big on dipping sauces so it didn't really provide much for me. The service was a little slow but they were jammed packed so I can't complain about that. The food was good but nothing special that really set it a part. If you want a burger and are in the city of Breckinridge I would give this place a shot. If you like to drink they had a decent drink menu with some pretty cheap beers.

Tasty fries. Small beer selection. Crowded many weekends. Its all about the dipping sauce for the fries. Good burgers, fish tacos, and cheesesteaks with cheeze whiz.

  • Nicole M.

One of the best burgers you'll ever eat. The tastiness doesn't end with their perfectly juicy burgers, either. Their sauces, fries and onion rings are to die for. Everything I've tried there is a winner.

Hungry for a burger? Come here. Different burgers and have sandwiches if not in the mood. I had the mushroom and Swiss. Yum if you like that kind of burger. My husband had the cheddar cheeseburger with fries. 20 sauces to choose from. The Sriracha mayo was yummy with the fries. We got a chocolate shake to go. Good stuff. The staff were solo friendly. Thanks for a fun experience after snowboarding

Texan tourists stoppin in for an evening bite and what a great surprise! Very tasty burgers but are known for the sauce options. There's maybe 20 to choose from and I can speak for at least 10 of them - 2 thumbs up! Must stop by for burgers and brews!

  • Chris K.

Friendly service, great burgers, fabulously tasty fries, fun sauces ....this place rocks! There is a good reason they are packed while many other spots, nearby, are empty. Great value, also! Go go go go there.

  • Nikki W.

Nice choice of sauces, although the jalepeño orange marmalade was on the weird side. Great fries. Good burger. GREAT loaded fries. Barbecue sauce was a bit strong, but still good. Try it! Don't think you could go wrong with this place.

  • Irene C.

From the outside, did not look busy. When we walked in, the place was packed and for good reason. I had the bacon/guacamole burger, which was fantastic! Served with plenty of guac too! Hubby just had a standard cheeseburger. He was also a big fan. We split the fries and onion rings. Big fan of their fries. Onion rings lacked a little on flavor, but was made up for when dipper in the Siracha mayo... mmmmmm. One of the best sauces I've ever had. Highly recommend this place for a quicker lunch and yummy burger!

Brent and I enjoyed a delicious lunch on Empire Burger's patio last weekend! Brent had a grilled cheese on Texas toast and I had a Bacon Cheddar Burger. We split a basket of fries. His grilled cheese was tasty, made with Cheddar and Pepper Jack. They got my burger wrong and had remake it. It was worth the wait though, as it was a delicious, juicy perfectly (medium) cooked burger. It was huge though. I wasn't able to finish it! The fries were outstanding. Freshly cut and fried and lightly seasoned with sea salt. They have many dipping sauces and we enjoyed a couple to go with. I think Empire burger is definitely one of the better fast casual options in Breck and we'll certainly return!

  • Greg B.

This place is popular for a reason. The burgers are delicious. Period. Go there, but expect a line at peak hours.

  • S S.

Had lunch here around 1 today. Sat in cozy corner. Very nice and tentative server. Had ranger ipa and rogue mocha porter. I usually get a burger here but I got a Cobb salad this time and it was really good. Always a great experience at empire burger :)

  • Frank R.

Absolutely fantastic! Out of this world burgers! Our waitress was awesome and very friendly. Highly recommended.

  • Megan A.

I came in a group of 10. We waited 40 min for our food to come out, which was a longer wait than I like, even with 10 people. But once we got our food, it was delicious. I got a Buffalo Green Chili Cheeseburger. Yum. Also, the bathroom was in dyer need of a cleaning. It was kinda gross. But it was extremely busy today. I would come back, just in a smaller group next time.

  • Corey K.

Huge, delicious burgers! The sides were nom nom! Great drink menu! And fantastic service (by a wicked-cute server)! If you're a carnivore, this is the best place in Breck for fast, simple meals IMHO.

  • Jilian S.

My western burger was perfectly cooked and tastes wonderful,. In my party of 6 everyone was extremely satisfied. You must try the mango chutney. Also, super happy with the margaritas! The BlackBerry sage was perfect for me and my sweet tooth with a sugar rim. If I am ever in the area again would love to have it all over again.

    (5)
  • Tim M.

Maybe the best burger and onion rings I have ever had! I'm not sure I can say any more than that... an absolutely wonderful lunch... and reasonable price for Breck!

    (5)
  • Min-Ru G.

Brusque customer service. Tight place; small place with lots of table squished inside. Burger and onion rings were mediocre. Asian firecracker wings were pretty good. Ginger ale tasted watered down and funky.

  • Matthew B.

The burgers were great but the service was absolutely top notch. A couple friends and I sat at the bar and the service was out of this world. Jason, the bar manager could do no wrong. He was by far the best and most attentive bartender I have ever had. Changing kegs, while taking food and drink orders and even hunting down every kind of tea they had to offer, his service was top notch. I recommend you eat here but forewarning, no other restaurant service will match the service of the man, the myth, the legend himself.....Jason.

  • Dustin H.

Awesome Burger!!! Great flavor and cooked perfect. Staff was overly friendly. Me and my wife split a classic cheeseburger and fries. It was more than enough. Plus we started with cheese sticks and they we're good. Will be back

I would probably give this place 3.5 stars if that were an option. Aside from some hoppy draft beer choices the only alternative was Coors Light which wasn't that great. I ordered the Kona burger with a side of onion rings. It arrived pretty quickly (I was sat at the bar) and looked good. There was possibly a little too much sauce and so it dripped everywhere and got the bun soggy when I wasn't holding it. The curry ketchup I ordered to go with the onion rings was very good; the onion rings seemed to be Sysco/food service style (so totally fine, but you know not as good as home/handmade ones). Couldn't really taste the swiss cheese at all and so perhaps they could omit it/swap it for something that can stand up to the other flavors? Given the location I suppose the prices were fair. I would probably try this place out again in the future (and hope that they got some non IPA draft beers).

  • Jen H.

You want something quick and delicious? This is your place. Burgers cooked perfectly and to your liking. I had a turkey burger and it was still delicious. I'll go back to this place for a quite bite for sure.

  • Angel H.

Delicious burgers with yummy dipping sauces! cool mountain vibe that doesn't break the bank.

    (5)
  • Kenney M.

Best Burger in Breck! World class customer service. Chili cheese fries to die for! I highly recommend this place to all!

    (5)
  • Rachel H.

Oh Lordy, the Parmesan peppercorn sauce! I plan to eat here every time I'm in town, mainly to try all the sauces. Service was quick and friendly and the place was bustling even for lunch on an off-season weekday. Exactly what I'd been hoping to find.

  • Scott G.

Service trumps all. Yes, I enjoy their burgers, dipping sauces and shakes. I really love that they're open until 1am every night (!!) What wins me over, though, is when a business owns their mistake, apologizes, and makes it right. I got back to our condo with a to-go order a couple nights ago, only to find no sour cream or guac on the loaded nachos. Ouch. I called Empire to let them know the mistake, and Jason the night manager fell over himself (in a good way) apologizing. He also assured me that if I wanted to stop back in any night during my stay, they would make it up to me. Cue the delicious and free milkshake, cue the happy me. I must say, I also loved that when I stopped by to pick up my shake, even though the bartender hadn't specifically been told the situation by Jason, he comped the shake without any hassle of making me wait to go talk to Jason. This place knows how to take care of people. We'll be back.

    (5)
  • Natalie S.

Generally pretty good burgers! We had the hawaiian style and green chili burger and we also shared a basket of fries. The only thing not so great was that my green chili burger bun was soggy on the bottom. But if you're craving a burger in Breckenridge I would recommend going here!

    (4)
  • Tim G.

Very busy. Great food. A bit loud and pricy.

    (5)
  • Shelly G.

The burgers were mediocre. The waitress for our table was really nice but two other younger female waitresses we interacted with (one about the beer selection and the other we asked for silverware) were rude as hell. The selection of dipping sauces is a cool concept and I wanted to like this place, but the service left a bad taste in my mouth.

    (2)
  • Katrin W.

Good service, delicious food and inexpensive prices - it's a very well place in town!

    (5)
  • Jeremy G.

Great fries and rings and sauces! Kids really enjoyed this place! Pretty crowded but worth the wait! We will be back.

    (4)
  • Cathy Y.

Green chili burger was cooked perfectly for me but I was there for the fries and dipping sauces. I was not disappointed. I loved the curry ketchup and wasabi mayo but the mango chutney was my favorite. Truly worth a visit!

    (5)
  • Mike P.

Had the Guacamole Burger and was the beat burger I have ever had and I'm 56. Onion rings were off the wall ! Wasabi mayo sauce was outstanding. Don't overlook this place !!!!

  • Jay C.

We went here over MLK weekend and it was super busy. We had to wait around 25 minutes for a table without having a place to wait. The place is very small and the tables are packed in tight. We were a party of four and sat at a table designed for two. The whole place was filled with college age people and not too many families. It is not a friendly kids place. If we had known about this, we would not have gone here. Aside from all of this, the quality of food is pretty good. Most of the menu is a different variety of burgers, which all of us had. Every single one of our burgers were tasty. Even the fries and onion rings were delicious. The only negative thing about the burgers is that they come a little soggy so the bottom bun falls apart when you pick it up. You most likely have to eat them with a fork and knife. As for the service, it was quick and friendly. Our food came immediately and our server was very attentive. The experience overall was ok and I would say we probably would not go back again because of the type of place it caters to.

  • Lauren T.

So glad we chose to stop in for lunch. Everything was delicious. Service was great. We will definitely be back.

    (5)
  • Spencer H.

Little bit expensive, but perfectly in line with Breckenridge norms. Burgers were really great, and the onion rings were awesome. We sat outside and were greeted and seated quickly, and received great service from Becky. Would definitely go back. Would have loved to have tried the fried zucchini and fried shrooms. Next time...

  • Dwayne N.

I haven't had a burger from every Breckenridge joint, but if you find one better than those at Empire Burger then grab a napkin and dive in. The bacon guacamole burger is delicious as are the fries with enticing dipping sauces and the onion rings. Great food, wide selection and friendly service every time I've been here.

    (5)
  • Al K.

We loved our experience! Great service, great food esp the chile!!! Our server was sweet and very helpful! She brought samples of soup and extra sauces because I couldn't decide!

    (5)
  • Nancy W.

The best burgers in Colorado! I always upgrade to the buffalo patty, and never pass up the sweet mango chutney. Great place to have a beer and a burger after a long day of snowboarding. Laid back atmosphere and great service!

    (5)
  • Cody A.

Service was excellent. Our server was Kevin and he was fast, friendly, and efficient. The food was amazing especially the Fried Mushrooms for a beginner and definitely substitute any burger for the Bufflo Patty it's worth the extra $2.50. The margaritas were made with fresh lime and agave nectar. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the lack of space very crowded in their establishment.

  • William H.

Great find while on vacation with a group. 8 of us went in and had a very enjoyable meal. We each tried a different burger and the sides were great too, especially the different dipping sauces! Great cold beer specials, too.

This place was hard to find from street view during the day. Walking inside, it looks like a nice place, but boy; is looks deceiving. We ordered the cheese steak and a burger. The cheese steak was good but the burger was greasy and lacking flavor. They say their burgers are cooked medium rare, but mine was more red than the pink in the very center. The fries were also over cooked. The dipping sauces were good. After looking around we noticed the floor was dirty with crude building up around the island and tables on the floor. Also, the bar stools has 1x1" wood epoxied to the bottom or the stool seat to raise them higher and it looked hideous. The bathrooms are unisex and disgusting. My wife and I looked at the bill and could not figure out why we wanted to pay that much for a burger than was not good. We expected more from a "claimed" burger place. I believe a Sonic burger would be better than theirs. We will not go back.. BTW, the waiter was clueless to ordering questions, came by only when we signaled him, and he was more interested chatting with the other waitress and bartender then serving us a quality dinner. Every comment he made was sarcastic and his "lingo" or comments were not fitting to us being a different race (White). I felt uncomfortable talking or ordering from him.

    (2)
  • Yuhao L.

2 stars for the burger. I had the green chile burger and it was flavorless. 3.5 stars for the fries (average) and dipping sauce (good). 5 stars for the service. Becky was one of the most attentive servers I've ever experienced.

    (3)
  • Dillon H.

Great food and service. Consider substituting beef for buffalo and avoid peak hours on weekends.

    (4)
  • Carolyn M.

The burgers were excellent! Nice choices to dress them up but we stuck with the classic and were not sorry. Would definitely return. Pleasant timely service. Great experience.

    (5)
  • Mark W.

Great burgers and overall atmosphere. Was a little loud when it was full, but it is bar atmosphere and burger joint.

    (4)
  • Melissa H.

Delicious food, great service! Nothing bad to say. Prices are reasonable. I had the bison burger and I loved it! It was juicy and the perfect size. Another highlight is the fresh lemonade... Yummy and refreshing! We had to order fries to go so we can keep eating the delicious sauces when we get back to the hotel :-) Our server was super nice and even gave us some recommendations on where to have breakfast and such. He also gave us some (free) extra sauces and seemed excited for us to try them. A must if you're in Breckinridge!

    (5)
  • Christine A.

Burger heaven. You will leave wearing angel wings after dining on one of the many burger options. I had a fantastic green chili cheese burger and all sins have been absolved. Each burger order comes with your choice of three sauces. Try the Sweet Mango Chutney and Wasabi Mayo. Thank me later. Onion rings and fries are delicious. The O rings are amazing with a light, crisp batter and the fries are perfection. A beer, wine and cocktail list is available.

  • Drea R.

Great burgers. We've been to Empire several times and the quality seems to be very consistent. Always great burgers... You have to add on any sides but that is because the burgers are a meal in themselves. They also have a great list of dipping sauces for the fries which are also pretty tasty! Easy, fast, friendly, reasonably priced.... A must do when in Breckenridge!

    (4)
  • Jim C.

Had dinner here one day last week excellent buffalo burger and wonderful onion rings, great cold beer, great place to eat for a casual evening.

    (4)
  • David H.

All of our food was very good. The onion rings, fries and dipping sauces were really good as was the burgers. Very reasonable prices and great service. We visit Breckenridge often during the winter season and we'll be back there for sure. (There is usually a wait when the town is busy but the staff does a great job to get you in a soon as they can.)

Life lessons, courtesy of Empire: check your takeout order before you leave, and make no assumptions when ordering. We got a wrong item, and we're missing an item, and apparently they only give you plasticware if you ask because Breck has a bit of an environmental mania. We had to go back, but when I called to let them now they were great about it and wanted to make it right. When we got back they had the replacement waiting and were nice about it. The place was super busy and weirdly they had one of two bartenders doing called-in takeout orders, so it's not surprising there were issues. I'd suggest moving that responsibility to the host stand and that would get people their food without waiting at the bar. The food was very good, a burger and a veggie Cobb. Lemonade was really fresh squeezed. Super popular place that was packed, and had a wait to sit, and was really loud and I assume took a while because it was so busy, so other than the. Snafu, taking out was nicer than dealing with the craziness there, although that meant no drinks.

  • Brad M.

We stopped in for lunch with my son and parents. Everyone ordered a different burger and everyone said it was the best burger they every had. The portobello burger was great. Their onion rings are amazing!!

  • Lynn C.

Really good burgers, very fresh. Don't miss the fried zucchini appetizer...it's amazing!!

    (5)
  • Rebecca F.

I had the veggie Cobb salad with red wine vinaigrette and jalapeño ranch dressings...phenomenal! best salad I've ever had. my sister's guacamole bacon burger was great too. service was very friendly.

  • Richard S.

Place can get packed, but great burgers, and great beer! Big Fan! A must visit when I'm in town!

    (5)
  • Sherrie N.

Delicious! Burger was incredible, fries/onion rings & dipping sauces were to die for! Such nice servers too, way friendlier than most in the area towards non-locals. Great vibe and their margarita's were super good too. Will def be back!!

    (5)
  • Tony K.

Fantastic cheeseburger! And, the onion rings were great too. My wife and I had lunch there today and could not have been more pleasantly surprised. We definitely will be making a return visit.

    (4)
  • Melinda V.

Excellent food and atmosphere. We had the bacon cheeseburger and a Cobb salad. Both were great. Best hamburger I've ever had. The dipping sauces for the fries were yummy too. We had the mango jalapeño and the honey mustard sauces. I would highly recommend eating here.

  • Shawn K.

As a family, we have an ongoing quest to find a great burger place, so when we were in Breckenridge this summer on vacation, we needed to check out Empire Burger...and we were glad we did! In fact we ended up going back a 2nd time the last night of our trip because it sounded so good. I suspect the burger rating depends on what you like and what you order - they have a lot of choices...so I suspect at least some of them wouldn't be as good. I had the bacon burger and it was excellent. The fries were good...but the dipping sauce (and all of the many choices of dipping sauces) were probably the highlight of the visit. Excellent service and a good atmosphere - try it out if you're in town.

    (4)
  • Frank W.

    Huge burgers and good service.

    (3)
  • Emanuel V.

Food is always good. Super chill spot. Came with four people and without even asking the waitress brought us all separate checks. This place knows what's up. Go for the chutney sauce. And don't forget to grab a chocolate milkshake before u leave too!

    (5)
  • Michelle S.

YUM! After a very early start to get to the mountains and then a morning chock full of stuff we were hungry! Empire burger hit the spot perfectly. The service was friendly although a bit slow but that didn't really matter to us once our orders were in. The zucchini fries were outstanding. I'd go back just for those every day for lunch if I was close by! The burger was tasty, the chili and salad were really good (according to the boy) and the dressing and sauces that they make in house? They were amazing. This is definitely on the list of places to visit next time we drive in.

I ate during a trip to Breckenridge in July and the burger was really good, so on my trip to Breckenridge over this past weekend, I was looking forward to going back. This time around it seemed like I was eating at a different restaurant. The menu states all burgers are cooked medium unless asked to cook it differently, which is how I like my burgers. My burger came out well done and it was about half the size it was the last time I was here. When I asked to have it re-cooked, the waiter told me they had a new grill that they were trying to get the hang of. The second burger came out and it was just as well done. I just ate it and will now never go back. Not sure if this was just one bad experience or not, but I would certainly not recommend this restaurant based on this experience.

  • Noname K.

Great burger place, always packed. What's cool about this place is that even tho it is packed, the servers at this place always seem to keep their cool. They are nice, friendly and fast.

    (4)
  • Yvette R.

Winner! One of the best burgers I've had in a long time! I just had the plain ol' classic cheeseburger. The burger burger was perfection the perfect layering of fresh veggies and the pickles are out of this world. The fries not greasy and freshly cut . You bet this will be my stop the next time I'm in town.

    (4)
  • Chris F.

Delicious burgers, friendly bartenders, but weak beer selection or this place is 4.5 stars...worth checking out for a quick casual dinner and a drink. The milkshakes looked delicious, but I didn't leave enough room unfortunately. Interesting clientele mixing vacationers and locals who all seemed annoyed to have tourists in town paying their hourly wages...and all with mustaches and girls in beanies. Not very attractive, but I guess you can do wherever you want and look hipster when the ratio is 11:1.

    (4)
  • Wendy E.

Fantastic wedge salad with blue cheese dressing with a bite! Tasty burger with bacon and guac.... All at an awesome family style modern concrete table for 15! One of my all time favorite drinks... Can't remember the name but it was a specialty margarita more like a mojito-anejo, lime, raspberries and sage. Super YUM!

    (5)
  • Jim W.

A burger isn't the only thing in the menu! Chicken quesadillas are fantastic and the chili is even better. Service was good but a busy Friday night kept us waiting for our food for awhile. The chili came out steaming hot, it definitely was not waiting under a heat lamp. Hit this place if you are in the mood.

  • Dan H.

Awesome burgers, fries, beers and service.. I'm surprised Empire Burger hasn't become a national chain yet, it's hitting on all cylinders.

Why a 2 star. Burger was good but very small ,all bun server should up sell Fries were extra. Witch is no problem she did not told us .

Great gourmet burger! Perfect after a draining day on the mountain. This place was rammed around 6pm but my party of 2 found seats at the long communal table in front of the bar. I ordered a Guac Bacon burger. MY GAWD! I don't usually add avacado to my burgers but damn it was good. The patty was a very good size and you can tell it was made fresh. Having thought I burned a ton of calories, I ordered a milkshake and a side of fries. For the milkshake, they allowed flavor mixing. SCORE! As for the fries, definitely think through which sauces you want because there are quite a few. I ended up with sriracha mayo and jalapeno ketchup. Great combos! Overall a solid burger and a solid meal.

  • Tanya S.

This is one of my favorite places in Breckenridge. The service was friendly and efficient. They went the extra mile to provide everything we could possibly need for a takeout order. The burgers are delicious and served exactly as ordered. The BLT is on yummy Texas toast, veggies are fresh and crisp, and there is plenty of bacon. To top it off, the prices are very reasonable AND they have a full bar!

    (5)
  • Curtis G.

Unfortunately, our crew got seated next to a family who were not particularly attentive to their children. The highlight of the place was the onion rings and the wide variety of dipping sauces. The burgers was simply just too greasy - two steps above a McD's.

    (2)
  • Sana M.

We read all these amazing reviews and drove from Keystone to try it out. Having dozens of dipping sauces and add ons, does not make the burger taste better. I'm giving this 3 stars since the meat was a bit tasteless, and we had to be dependent on the sauces for the flavor.

Here's a simple fact of life for eating dinner in Breckenridge during the Christmas holiday: you're going to have to wait. Fortunately Empire had one of the shortest waits in town, and we were seated in about 30 minutes during the peak dinner hour. And boy were we glad we waited. I concocted a mushroom and swiss bison burger that was down right tasty. Very juicy, and like the menu says, cooked medium. It was exactly what I needed - one of the better bison burgers I've had. But our tasty adventure didn't just include burgers. We had a full order of fries and onion rings to share as well. The fries were great, and the onion rings were absolutely perfect. The rings were hand battered and didn't fall apart into a sad mess. The neat twist that Empire provided was the selection of dipping sauces for the fries and onion rings. Normally I'm a strict ketchup guy, but with such an array of options, I didn't even touch the Heinz. We had jalapeno ranch and sriracha mayo, and both were dynamite. If you're looking for a casual dinner to watch the game in Breck, I highly recommend Empire.

  • Lily P.

Ate here twice while in breck for a weekend and they have fast service, great dipping sauces for the fries (wasabi mayo, mango one, sriracha mayo, and garlic mayo were good). It wasn't as good as pomme frites (see nyc and elsewhere) but it was pretty cheaper with burger uder 10 with a lot of toppings, and the option for a bison burger. The place was always fun and it was open late so we went out and came here in the middle of the night afterwards (1am) and grabbed a quick bite.

  • Martin G.

My girlfriend and I got stuck on Vail pass and after hours stopped on the side of the road made our way back to Breckenridge. It was late, but these guys are open til 1am. It really hit the spot. We had the classic burger and the guacamole and bacon burger. Both were awesome. Came with a side if fries and they have an assortment of dipping sauces. We had the green curry and the parmesan and pepper sauces. The green curry sauce was a winner. Highly recommend. Thanks for turning a bummer if a night (mountain traffic) into a great fun evening.

  • Aaron W.

Everything you can get from here is great. Burgers, cheese fries, dipping sauces, cheap draft beer specials, fried pickles, the list goes on. Small place so the wait is usually pretty decent, but worth it every time. Or they have a small bar you can eat at.

Good atmosphere, busy, fun & the staff was good. The burgers were good, not great. We did like the meat - you could tel it was fresh ground & very tasty. Fries were good - fresh hand cut. There are a lot of sauces you can get to go with them. We tried a few, but were not blown away. Seemed more like a gimmick than anything else. Would eat here again for a quick lunch or dinner burger.

The service might have had a glitch or two but they were super nice and the food was amazing. Will go back for their burgers any day. Yalla yalla. It's Christmas. let's go home.

Great place. Food was delicious and service great. Even good for a non beef eater. Had turkey burger with mushrooms and Swiss and fried zucchini. Jalapeño ranch was delicious.

Great service and food! My burger was epically delicious, and the 70+ sauces where awesome. I highly suggest the Mango Chutney to go with your fries!

So far one of the best places for a burger in Breckenridge. A must try. We actually ate here after fishing last summer. So it was a great place to replenish, along with a beer. ;)

The service was great and the food was freaking delicious! I had a western burger with onion rings, and I was soooooo full after. The food was so so so good, and I wish we had one in New York just like this! Best burger place I've ever eaten at by far.

  • Alia Z.

Despite the name, I would recommend this place not for its burgers, which are admittedly pretty good. Come here for the fries, the onion rings, and the dipping sauces that you can enjoy with those. Their onion rings fall apart in your mouth perfectly, and the breading is not too greasy. Their fries are thick-cut and addictive! And the selection of sauces is enormous - various mayos, ketchups, relishes, etc.

  • Ruby M.

Long wait but worth it! Burgers were delish and you have the choice of 20 different dipping sauces for your fries/onion rings. I ordered the strawberry moonshine martini and it was tasty! Great place and great atmosphere.

I work in the beef industry and I was very impressed with the burgers at Empire. Cool spot, lots of seating, great service. Kids gobbled it up! Park behind it if you can.

Before my man and I moved here, someone kept telling us to try Empire Burger because they had the best burgers in town. So we did. I can't say that we were impressed with the burgers. Although they were good, they weren't anything special... pretty bland, actually. You could get a burger just like that in the next burger joint pretty much anywhere in the world. If they're really the best burgers in town, then Breckenridge is seriously lacking. However, their fries were another story. They offer fresh hand-cut fries with a huge variety of dipping sauces! Easily some of the best fries I've ever had in my life! I'd come back here just to eat them. The service was OK. The host was somewhat rude; the waiter was nice. When we ate there, the place was so empty that some of the staff just sat around goofing off while our waiter busted his rump doing all the work. I kinda felt bad for the guy.

Seems like the entire hype to the place is their vast amount of dipping sauces for their wide selection of fried foods (wasabi mayo, siracha mayo, etc). The dipping sauces were amazing but the place seemed kind of lack-luster to me. I couldn't find a burger that interested me; nothing seems out-of-the-ordinary/interesting. I actually ended up getting a chili cheese dog and my lady ordered the fish tacos. She was pleased but I was absolutely not. There was no quality in the dog, bun, cheese, onions, etc. Everything was just above something like McDonald's quality. I took a long time to try and find a drink that would cheer me up. I was very surprised to see that 3/4 of their menu was tequila, yet it didn't seem like they knew what good tequila was. . . . I ordered a blackberry sage margarita. I couldn't taste even the faintest nuance of sage and the blackberry was flavorless and simply sour = horrible drink. The only things I enjoyed was my company and the onion rings, which were perfectly battered. Oh yeah, and one of my good friends ordered a salad that actually looked fresh and was gigantic.

This place is a must eat just about every time we are in Breck. Definitely a great place to get an excellent (veggie) burger. The onion rings are pretty fantastic. I love all the dipping sauces... the environment is nice. Customer service here has never let me down... I highly recommend this place!!

Favorite eatery joint during my 5 days in Colorado. The burgers were unique, flavorful, and came out with the quickness. I ordered their green chili turkey burger. This is the second spot in Colorado where they offer this "green chili" concoction. Must be really popular there. We also ordered fries and it came with this Siracha mayo sauce which was too DIE for! The food was reasonably priced and the atmosphere was chill. Great spot to grab a bite to eat, few drinks and then explore the town.

Great atmosphere, great food, and awesome sauces! This place was packed on Saturday night by 6pm. The staff seating patrons was pretty good about remembering faces when seating parties waiting. Wait time for food after ordering was very reasonable. The best part was the dipping sauces! Friends and I all strategized to be sure to get a different sauce each. We ended up with garlic aioli, sriracha mayo, curry ketchup, and honey mustard. All of these were amazingly tasty! I had the mushroom swiss burger with turkey patty. It was so delicious. My only regret was not being able to finish it because although we took our leftovers home, I didnt get a chance to finish my burger =( BOTTOM LINE: If you cant resist french fries like me, definitely be sure to come here with others, eat fries, and order a bunch of sauces to go with them.

Very disappointed with this restaurant. I have been there before. The food and service were great but this last time it was a complete disappointment. The hostess was rude. The food mediocre. Avoid club sandwich and the chicken caesar...store bought chicken strips ... Nothing to write home about.

Not the best burger in town but a VERY close second. Anyway on to the food. Great burgers. Lots of different options, but I always go the same. Burger done green chile style. That means all the usual suspect plus charred green chiles and pepperjack cheese melted on top. Yum. This food is best for after a major bike ride or long day of skiing. Oh, they are also open fairly late - so it's a good option if you feel like you are starting to get too drunk. Their fries and dipping sauces are good. Wasabi mayo and parmesean peppercorn are my top two favorites. This place is great for families and tourists that don't want to venture too far out of their comfort zones. Always good and always done right, check this place out on your next visit to Breckenridge. I know that their bartenders make good margaritas - and who doesn't like that? Here is an easy way to make me happy. Bike ride, burger and margarita. Simple.

I'm not much a burger fan and I'm a plain jane when it comes to burgers. We came here for a late lunch after riding all morning on the mountain. The waitress was really nice and the place wasn't packed at all. We ordered the loaded fries w/ chili (it was amazing!) and I got the regular burger w/ extra onions. Everyone else ordered the bacon cheeseburger. When my burger came, it was definitely loaded w/ onions. It was more like an onion burger with a side of beef patty. Nonetheless I LOVED it! I've never been to a burger place that gave me soooooo much onions! I also put the roasted garlic mayo and that was like the cherry on top. This place is good and it a good meal after a day of riding. The BF wanted to eat here again before we left, but I told him that we needed to try something else. We'll be back next time though.

Great burgers. They were so good and not ridiculously greasy. The french fries tasted like they were fresh cut and were also so good. There are so many dipping sauces to choose from. If I had to judge just from the food I'd give it 5 stars, however, the service wasn't anything to rave about. It was packed, which we expected, but the hostess was literally deafening people calling out party names and the servers seemed like they were a little overwhelmed. Over all though, we will definitely be back.

  • Zac S.

Decent burgers. Not overly impressive, certainly not bad. Hands down, the sauces are the draw. 4 stars mostly because the prices are outstanding considering how much everything else costs in Breckenridge. Don't come for health food though. Mix some garlic mayo with a bit of ketchup for the best fry sauce you've ever had.

If I get take out or go out to dinner with my family, this is where we go. I love the Baja fish tacos. My husband loves the veggie burger. My kids love the French fries & chicken fingers. The bar tenders and staff are really nice. If you like burgers and fries, this is your place.

Over the last few years I have been visiting Breckenridge to snowboard. After a long day on the mountain all you can think of is food. Empire burgers buffalo burger always wins for me but even more Jason the bartender is always welcoming and hospitable he makes you feel like a friend and a local.

Stop by for lunch. The service was friendly and the food was fresh and tasty - all for a good price. We tried the Mushroon & Swiss Burger served on a fresh Brioche Roll. Also, had the Veggie Cobb which was a dream ,,, Grilled Portobello Mushrooms, Avocado, Radishes, Marinated Zucchini, Carrots, Tomato and matchstick Potatoes topped with their red wine vinaigrette. All items are a la carte. We started with their mushrooms with a creamy horseradish sauce (very good). Definitely will go back when we are in the area.

Only one star for food.....place wasn't busy, we were asked to move to a smaller table. Ok....the waiter gave us the I am cooler than you tude, then he spilled sauce all over my lap and shoes. We don't normally ask for a locals discount but in light if the stains we did. Only to be scoffed at again, something about that's only available til 3:00. It was 2:40... So, the only way we will go back is if that guy doesn't work there any more.

We just got into town and was dying for food. Trusty Yelp did not fail us! Bar and dining area was packed but we were lucky to get seated right away. Our server was quick and we ordered a variety of burgers, fried zucchini, fried mushrooms, fries and rings to share and chips and chile con queso. Yes, it was alot of food- we didn't eat lunch! I had the green chile bison burger - tasty yes, perfect size and delicious. I inhaled mine right away. The apps were awesome! You get to pick your own different sauces. Definitely recommend the jalapeño ranch. Overall great service, good food and a lively spot!

After eating breckenridge ski resort's crappy burgers for a few days I was looking forward to a good burger. Unfortunately empire burger disappointed. It was an okay burger, but underwhelming for a place know for burgers. The good? The bun. The bad? The burger meat. It was dry and not well seasoned. They also only cook it to medium; mine was closer to well done. I was really disappointed by this. Any good burger place should be able to cook to preference. Beyond the burgers, the fries were good and the sauces delicious. The drinks were subpar. I ordered a house margarita and did not like it at all. It tasted like a mix from the supermarket. It had a very artificial sweetener taste, as if they used sour mix instead of fresh limes. Very shocking considering they advertised their margaritas as a specialty. All in all a bad experience. I would not recommend the place.

So up here with my friend I yelped some places and Empire Burger came up. I don't consider myself a burger person, but with the recent growth of burger joints all over Denver I thought it would be nice to see what the deal was this place. Really nice, casual atmosphere. Burgers were ok. I didn't love it. Really the meat was just ok. Again, I'm not a food critic but it just seemed average. That aside the service was nice and great prices for the area.

Not sure if their burgers are good or not but I do know that they are lacking in customer service. I came to this establishment with a group of 8 and one of the waiters, I believe his name was James, kept on insisting that we split up into two tables of four. When we asked whether or not we could put the two empty tables in front of us together he became rude and said no. There was no one behind us waiting and the restaurant was only half full so I have no idea why he refused this simple request but instead of waiting to hear his answer, we walked out and went to another restaurant nearby. What a disappointment because the menu looked good!

A Burger Joint Texans Will Love. This place serves up some of the best burgers ever. I highly recommend the Kona Burger and the plain ol' burger with ketchup and mustard. The fries come with about a dozen optional dipping sauces that will make the serious Yelper happy....yummmm siracha mayo. It also doubles as a good bar for the single eater.

It was the worst experience we had in Breck. Coming here for years now, we ate here before and always liked the food, even there were small glitches with the service. But after this last visit we realized all our previous visits to Empire were either during the day time or on a very slow evening. This time we went on a Saturday. There was only one group ahead of us to be seated(3ppl). Hostess told us it'd be 10-15 min wait.. What she forgot to say was, it had to be a table for 2 for us to be seated!!! Tables seating 4 opened but hostess consistently ignored us.People coming after us were seated while we kept waiting, because they were party of 3 or more. In the mean time hostess forgot about us completely... After 30 min, we asked her if we were going to be seated soon and she was all lost, looked at us as if we weren't standing before her for 30 min. Finally we were seated at 40-45 min range but bad service continued... We both already knew what we wanted to order(plus side of waiting long, checked out the menu thoroughly!) but waitress was plain rude. It was obvious she wasn't happy with what she was doing(my suggestion, simply quit and choose sth else to do other than the service industry!). Food was good but I told my husband there's no way that I was going back! There are many places in Breck where you can get very good food. It is understandable when restaurants get packed and staff is overwhelmed. But the "this is how we are and screw you if you don't like it" attitude is not something I'll ever agree with. When the population of the town increases places get very crowded and waiting is long but almost every other place is more organized and accommodating compared to Empire. If the hostess cannot handle the front(which in this case was chaotic, so she was useless), hire a new one or put more than one employee in charge of that area. Management failed big time. Also for those looking for a nice dinner time, forget it. Tables are way too close to each other. I never sat in the area we were sitting this last time so perhaps didn't bother me much before. But this time our table was probably 10 inches from the next one.I certainly didn't measure but lets put it this way, I'm 5'6 & 115lbs and guy at the next table had to move for me to get out... It was extremely loud, we couldn't have a conversation ( this also caused the waitress asking repeated questions). Bottom line, this is my first one star and food definitely deserves more. But the whole experience is not even worth that one star.Unless you're going to eat at this place during the day or dead season, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Service was good but food was not. I had their chicken noodle soup which I could only eat a few bites of. My boyfriend's cheeseburger tasted off,not sure if its because we are from Texas and are used to the best meat but he only ate half of it. Club sandwich was good but how do you mess up a club sandwich? I have had so much better. :-/

I love this place! The view, the staff...the FOOD. My meal: The hamburger: Green Chili Burger, no mayo The sides: Homemade fries and onion rings -both fresh and awesome The drink: Margarita, no frills, just refreshing Keeping food simple, ingredients top-notch & totally fresh, and providing service with a smile...Empire has these down pat. To my hamburger-yielding geniuses, "you are a true restaurant with passion...Please hold a seminar for the other very lacking restaurants in the area. " I can't wait to try your sister 'rants.

There is possibly nothing better after a long day of skiing than a massive meal of burgers/fries and the requisite guilty salad. We got a large order of the green chile burger, chicken sandwich, cobb salad, and an excessive order of fries and onion rings. The best part was the various sauces you could order to smother your fries/onions/salads with. At 75cents a pop, we went overboard. But you have to taste it to know what's good right? Our favorites: curry ketchup, sriracha mayo, parmesan peppercorn, roasted garlic mayo. Better make sure you get a lotta skiing in to burn off those calories!

I couldn't leave Colorado without having a buffalo burger. They told me it was good here, so I was willing to try it anywhere. Finally we get here order it and it's not bad. The meat was tender moist and cooked to medium rare perfection. I was't super hungry at the time, but it was fine. I had avocado and bacon on mine, and I think I got provolone or swiss... I can't remember it exactly because it was about a month ago. Nevertheless I am pretty happy we stopped by.

Don't judge me, but I am not a burger person. I rarely crave burgers and I never order them if we go out to eat. So when my brothers came to visit from Atlanta and said they were craving burgers, I had no idea where to take them. This place came up on a search and it was one of the few places open over a holiday weekend, so we decided to give it a shot and oh.my .gosh...my mind was blown. We all agreed this was one of the best burger places we've ever been to, and again, I'm not a burger person. I got the bacon blue burger and added guacamole (amazing), my brothers both got the bbq burger. We also got the zucchini chips and mushroom bites. So good! I don't know what they're doing in the kitchen, but it's working. The bun is fantastic, meat is high quality, and toppings and sides are great. Amazing fries. I still say I'm not a burger person, but on the rare instances that I crave one, I'll need to hold out to come here to get it.

This is really a 3.5 to me, but to be fair I had a chicken sandwich, hold the cheese, so that puts me a half star out of the race, I think. The fring combo (onion rings and french fries, not really a combo but two orders) were the best, just the best, who cared about the sammy anyway? However my meal-mates said the burgers were great and this was the next morning, as we were all so exhausted from a medical emergency when we ate, and it was late, that it was like being in the 'zone. I also LOVE their root beer and orange sody pop. Still, they don't get that half star even if the waiter was making flirty eyes at my daughter who is gorgeous, because I just hate greasy table tops... Good value for the money and a full bar too.

One of the better places in breck, this place offers a decent burger (ordered the bacon cheeseburger) with some awesome sauces for your fries or onion rings. We got the peppercorn parmesan and the jalapeno ranch. We also ordered the zuchini chips which was underwhelming. The burger needed that off the chargrill taste and fattier meat but otherwise was decent. The onion rings were pretty good. The mexican martini was also pretty good as well. The fudge sundae was just OK maybe slightly below OK, the fudge was not warm, icecream was anemic on other toppings.

Solid Burger. I had the bacon and guac cheese burger. The patty was cooked well, lots of guac, and nice crunchy bacon. My only complaint was patty was actually a little bit smaller than the bun so my last couple of bites had no meat. The best thing about this place are the fries and the many many many dipping sauce choices you get with it. I wanted to try them all but our group had 2 sauces. My friend just got a basic honey mustard but it was good. I got the roasted garlic mayo, OMG! I used every last drop.

I've eaten here several times and the burgers and fries are great. The dipping sauces are a nice addition. Really enjoyed the mushroom Swiss burger - lots of mushrooms and gooey cheese! My dinner companion enjoyed the fish tacos. They were better than expected considering this is a burger place. Wait and service can be a drag. During busy times expect to wait to get a table. And service can be spotty. Also be prepared to wait if you want to use the restrooms. There is almost always a line for the women's restroom. Unfortunately all prepared food goes by the people waiting in line for the restroom.

Great dipping sauces and burgers! The zucchini chips were amazing and not overly battered. We had the guacamole bacon burger and I added sirracha mayo to mine! Our family of 7 was very pleased! They even suggested us a family sized fry so we didn't have to get 7 individual orders!

Not gonna lie... we originally came here partly because it was one of the few places in Breck where you could get something for less than $10. Empire Burger did not disappoint. The portabella mushroom burger, which sounds (and is usually) pretty bland, but was actually very flavorful for a giant mushroom on a burger. Bun was gold and buttery. Bf enjoyed the mammoth guac bacon burger. The loaded fries... a meal in itself. Fat hand-cut fries smothered in cheese, bacon, sour cream, and jalapenos. The best part was their awesome selection of sauces. Curry ketchup tasted like straight-up-Indian-food curry and the jalapeno ranch packed a nice punch. They have a full bar here as well with lots of inventive drinks. Open everyday till 1am!

Great meal. My wife and I split a burger and cobb salad. Both were great. My son, who is a difficult eater (to say the least), declared that his chicken fingers were the best ever. High praise for a 7 year old. My daughters were pleased as well. Along with Eric's and Breckenridge Brewery, I rank this as a must stop while in Breckenridge.

Good burgers and good value. That's pretty much how I felt when I finished my burger. Also ordered onion rings as well. Try their mango chutney sauce. It's sweet! The onion rings we had was not that greasy at all. Good batter and fresh frying oil. The rings came out fresh and crisp; unlike others.

Great burgers! If you don't like a greasy, juicy burger then you should probably try a salad. Fries are good and even better with the large variety of dipping sauces! And our waitress was super friendly! Definitely making a return visit next time I'm in Breck!

I really can't say anything negative about Empire. Reminds me a lot of Smashburger honestly, which could be a compliment or diss depending on who you ask I suppose. Nevertheless this smallish place delivers a good if not great burger to the hungry masses pretty well.

I loved this place so much but hadn't been back since the first time I reviewed this place-almost 2 years ago. Well nothing much has changed since then except now I have gotten to try other sauces and types of burgers. I recommend the green chili burger-fresh green chiles and a pepper jack cheese, sign me up! We got a side of sriracha mayo and mango chutney for our fries, and it was the right blend of sweet and hot. The garlic mayo went well on my burger as well. They serve tasty Kona Pale Ale on tap which I highly recommend after a hard day on the slopes.

Good burger joint, had the Bacon Cheeseburger and substituted the mayo/ mustard for the srarchi mayo and had the handcut fries with the mango chutney, which was great. We also took a strawberry and a banana shake to go, both were ok. The service was remarkable, we chose an outside table, but it started to rain. The servers started clearing tables so we could all move inside.

Fantastic green chile buffalo burger - fries were excellent and fresh, sprinkled with coarse sea salt. It's in a sort of weird spot - like a low-slung, outdoor shopping megacomplex, visually not that unrelated to a series of modern townhomes. It's a bit out of the older, more charming part of the main drag, so if you're looking for funky ambiance instead of food, this is not the place to go. But it sure as hell was one tasty ending to an epic ski trip.

Excellent onion rings, lightly battered and crispy, went great with the creamy horseradish sauce. Burgers were good, I had the Cheddar Chili Burger. I would compare them to Smashburger if you have ever been there. I did try the fries, very good skin on cuts with sea salt "pellets" on them- good stuff.

Well, you have to have a hearty meal after activities up high! Coming down from skiing or hiking, nothing hits the spot like a burger and a beer. The green chili burger is excellent. The patties of their burgers are not over pressed or over handled here [take notes for you wannabee chefs... do NOT over handle the beef and you will get a tender patty]. I also like that they cook them to medium unless you specify otherwise. The fries are top-notch. You are really missing out if you visit here and skip them. The only complaint... headbanger rock was really blaring out of the speakers in the joint. This is a restaurant, and ambiance does mean something. Whether it is Bach or Blue Murder, nobody needs the music so loud that a normal conversation is difficult. People are loud enough on their own in a place with hard surfaces without screaming over music as well. The server/service was super quick and super laid back... even with our complaint.

Definitely a five star burger spot! Burger was cooked perfectly & it came out within 10 minutes. A little crowded when we first got there but wasn't bad. Love all the sauce selections! We tried the siracha mayo & wasabi mayo. Delicious! The only complaint I had was the onion things. They had a crumbly batter & no seasoning. Personally, I enjoy beer battered rings. Fries were perfect tho!

Excellent service. Chips, salsa & guacamole were very good. Chili was above average. Excellent buns for the hamburgers. Hamburgers were good, but would be much better if they were char grilled and not cooked on the flat top. French fires were also very good. Have been here before and will come again

Great service. Burgers were not special. All cooked to medium unless told otherwise. Got a burger with chilli peppers. Not spicy at all. Western burger was okay. Onion rings were really good and their loaded fries - awesome. Large selection of dipping sauces. Try the buffalo patty as a substitute to the regular patty. That will make the burger much better.

Great burgers on the south end of Breckenridge! Empire burger has a bunch of great sauces to have with your burger and have so many different options that appeal to carnivores, vegetarians, and vegans alike. Even the non-burger optyions are good. I love the fish tacos! The restaurant is very casual and perfect for lunch or an informal dinner. The crowd is usually families in the restaurant and 20 somethings in the bar area.

Hands down the best burger I've ever had! Just a cheeseburger with grilled onions. Amazing. Actually ate the whole thing! Never done that before. Waiter Kevin was awesome, told us some cool shops to check out as well. Mango chutney dipping sauce for fries yummy! Sweet and spicy!!

Double grease burger with a side of "hurry up and finish" I stopped at Empire with a voracious appetite after a long day on the mountain. It was packed. Being a holiday weekend, I think the entire town was packed. We waited 15 minutes for a table and were seated by a really friendly hostess. Our server was not as friendly, but not rude either. The menu is large and exciting for a burger joint. Lots of toppings, sauces, and styles. I ordered a double burger with green chilies and pepper jack cheese plus a side of fries with "curry ketchup". I was surprised how fast the burgers came out... literally 5 minutes after we ordered. My burger was swimming in a pool of grease. I don't mind a little grease and I guess it's somewhat expected when you get a double burger, but this just seemed negligent. They are cranking out burgers so fast in the kitchen, that there really wasn't any care on my plate. Everything was just thrown together. A plate of ugly in a pool of lard. The taste was so-so. The fries were great, but the curry ketchup was not as advertised. It tasted good, but seemed to have a mayo base. Our waitress, though again not rude, seemed eager to moooooove us along and delivered our check before we finished our meal. The Redbull and vodka drinks were $10 a piece. My best comparison for Empire Burger would be a lesser version of 5 Guys with a few more menu options.

This place was recommended to me and I was promised a great burger. However, what I found was just an average burger. I had a cheeseburger with cheddar and pineapple. The pineapple wasn't cooked enough and was crunchy rather than savory. I am not a fan of natural fries but these were decent. I found a better burger at another restaurant just down the street, so if asked, I would recommend that one over Empire Burger.

latest place we could find open for food to go. took home a cheese steak to the hotel. It was pretty good. I know real most phillies in philly use cheese whiz and that's what they did here. I prefer a mixture of provolone and cheese whiz myself. reasonably priced I thought.

My husband and I were staying just down the street from Empire Burger - this place really hit the spot after hours of snowboarding. I ordered the Guacamole bacon burger - this was a delectable burger with juicy meat, good guac and just one of those lip smacking type experiences. Also ordered the Odell brewing 90 shilling amber ale - I've always loved Colorado brews and this was no exception. My husband ordered the Green chile cheeseburger which was also really really good. Also, the pepperment pattie hot chocolate (consisted of peppermint schnapps and chocolate) - really warm and tasty for the sweet tooth! Fries are pretty good too! Especially the large variety of dipping sauces that you can choose from. Makes the fries experience standout. I liked the curry ketchup - it's does seem to have a mayo base which i liked - paired well with the fries, but pick the sauces based on your tastebuds =)

Nice place in Breckenridge and pretty good burgers. I don't think you'll be disappointed. We had the guacamole bacon burger, bison bacon cheddar burger, fries, and onion rings. My son reported that the bison burger was very good. The guac burger was good too. If you are a fan of onion rings, these are great. They are hand battered and really good. They also have multiple sauces to choose from which was neat. We had the mango chutney, sirrachi mayo, and bbq ranch. The ranch was a little on the runny side, but the other two were great. On a side note, if you have a wheelchair with you they may tell you to go all the way around the block to the back to catch an elevator down to them. There is a elevator entrance from the street level. Have someone go to the top and take the elevator down to the first floor and open the door instead of going all the way around the block.

Empire Burger is home to the BEST BURGERS in the ROCKY MOUNTAINS!!!! NO DOUBT! Of note, the funnest part of Empire Burger is all the different ketchup-sauces they offer, including Wasabi Mayo, Chutney Ketchup (with an India-flare), and chipotle styles The burgers are delicious and the bar is an awesome place to kick back and lounge Second, they are open LATE, often past midnight, meaning that you won't be left in the cold if you forget to eat dinner ;) And lastly - the staff here is gonna treat you like family - be sure to say hello to Jason the Bartender - the coolest man in Breckenridge Love and peace all!

if you're craving a good burger this place will definitely satisfy. The burgers are made to order any way you want, with a variety of toppings cheeses and sauces. I took another yelpers advice and had the blue cheese and bacon buffalo burger with wasabi mayo. Also get the fries and onion rings and a couple different dipping sauces like the curry ketchup and jalapeno ranch. Therse is also a bar which carries some local brews to wash all that goodness down with. Cool gouurmet burger spot. Whish there was an Empire Burger in this area, now theres a tought.

The best part about this place is the dipping sauces for the fries and onion rings. The fries are great, the onions rings are incredible! I would definitely recommend either, especially the onion rings if you are an onion ring fan! The burgers were really good, not the best ever, but pretty tasty! The atmosphere is pretty cool for a burger place, nothing too special really. The only negative was that they wouldn't seat us until out whole party was there. We only were lacking one member of the party so we had to stand in the small entry way until the last member of the party got there. It wasn't even that busy, but hey I guess policy is policy even if it sometimes leads to poor customer service. So the food was good but the service was not the best. I'd recommend if for the food though.

We had just arrived in Breckenridge. It was after 10pm. We tried Mi Casa for food, but they had stopped serving food. The friendly waiter there told us to try Empire Burger. What a find. This place is at one end of main street, opposite the Main Street Center. Let's start with the hours. They stay open late. Really late. This is a good thing. Let's move to the food. They do burgers. I've heard the axiom "do one thing and do it well" and it is certainly in play here. The place is not fancy. It does burgers. The burgers are well constructed, and they do not hide behind sauces. My wife had a bbq bacon cheeseburger. Normally, when you get a bbq burger, the sauce drips all over the place - indicating that they want you to remember the sauce, not the burger (at least to me). This burger had just enough sauce to be flavorful, but not so much that you couldn't taste the burger. I had the pressed cuban - delicious again. Overall, a decent place. I like it. I will return.

Relaxed environment. Friendly staff and they even changed the channel so I could watch the UEFA Champions League match. Western burger was delicious and the fries were decent. Tons of sauces to choose from - loved the Parmesan peppercorn. Also enjoyed a tasty jalapeño margarita!

  • N P.

Service was mediocre. When main dish came out only 3 minutes after appetizers came out, server took no accountability and was defensive. They need a double-door system so that when the front door opens, the inside of the restaurant doesn't feel the outside air. During the -20 degree weather when we ate there, that was not fun! Burgers were unimpressive and too small. For a burger joint, you should have bigger than a 1/3 pound burger. Sauces were delicious, especially the garlic mayo and curry ketchup.

Pretty damn good burger. Hipster heaven as most gourmet burger joints are.

The "western burger" was fantastic. I came here with my girlfriend and another couple on a whim to get out of the cold and was pleasantly surprised. A burger and chile is a great way to warm up when its -20 out with wind chill.

Very solid burger joint. The sauces for dipping fries/rings were imaginative and good. Mexican ketchup sauce great with rings. I had green chile bison burger and would recommend it. Restaurant is small but worth a wait. Staff friendly/helpful.

If you're craving a big, fat greasy burger, then Empire Burger will definitely hit the spot - and hit it pretty hard. We came here for an early lunch on a day that we were going for afternoon/night skiing. In theory, a 5 ounce burger doesn't seem like an obscene amount of meat, but the signature Empire patty comes standard with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, mustard and mayo (I ordered mine sans mayo and onion). And instead of fries, I got a side order of onion rings with the parmesan peppercorn dipping sauce. I appreciate any place that tries to spice things up a bit by offering a variety of dipping sauces (Pomme Frites, anyone?). One sauce comes with your fries or onion rings, but you can also order more sauces at 75 cents a pop. My bf tried the BBQ ranch and mango chutney, which is my favorite at Pomme Frites. The sauces were all pretty tasty, but not quite as good as PF. The onion rings had a nice flaky fried coating that wasn't too heavy, and the fries provided a good vehicle for transferring the dipping sauces from their containers into my mouth (naked, they were only all right). Now back to the burgers. I really think they're a more appropriate meal for dinner because mine almost knocked me out for the rest of the day. I had to make a deposit in the bathroom as soon as we got home, and I still felt like the meat was sitting in my belly like a lead weight. I had to take a half hour nap just to sleep it off, and luckily I felt refreshed afterwards b/c I didn't want to miss out on skiing because of a burger. Because of this, I can only give Empire Burger 3 stars. I'd give it an extra half star for the sauces alone if I could, but my belly just won't let me round up on this one.

Wow what a burger place. The burgers are good sized. I thought the french fries were the best thing there. When we go back to Breck we are defintely stopping at Empire again.

First off, kudos to Jason! He met me once and always remembers my name everytime I go to Empire. The apps are great, especially the zucchini chips! I'm a huge fan on the wasabi mayo dip! The atmosphere is always welcoming and lots of fun.

Very good burgers and good service, a bit loud. The tenderness and flavor of the burger really stood out. Don't forget to order your fries extra - they don't come with the burger. The restaurant was only 50% full but quite loud - I can't imagine what it would be like when full.

Tiny place, so the wait can be long for big parties. The burgers are great but this place isn't for the health nut. I think they're cooked on a flat-top, so they're a bit greasy. Food and drink prices are acceptable and I'd definitely go there again when I'm in town.

Drove to Breckenridge for the day from Keystone. The town is nice and has plenty of shopping. Our group of nine (two families) decided to eat at Empire Burger. We were greeted by the hostest and asked for a table for nine. She indicated the wait would be 15 minutes. After 25 minutes I checked in to see how much longer the wait would be...and she told me just another 5 minutes as she was waiting for one big table to finish. The table had quite a bit of food to go...so five minutes seemed unlikely. I noticed two smaller tables empty and asked if our group could be split into two tables, to which the hostest replied " my manager will not let me do that". So, I said that we changed our mind and we were now two seperate groups of four and five people per group. "Sorry, I can't do that". Frustrated by this, I noticed six seats open up at the bar. I promptly sent our kids (5 of them) to thoses seats. This clearly upset the hostest and bar tender...who told us that children could not be at the bar without an adult. Fair enough, we occupied the sixth seat with an adult. The team at Empire finally succumbed and let us sit at the bar. Within a few minutes, three more seats at the bar opened and we all sat together. The bar tender, Vince, was not rude...but not friendly. He seemed overwhelmed. At one point he told us that "we prefer not to have kids at the bar because we often use foul language". Nice. Once we ordered, the food came quickly and was pretty good. My advice...take your order to go, eat on the curb, and save the gratuity. Service = poor Food = good Price = good

Great burgers, reasonable prices on food and beer, and a wide variety of great dipping sauces make this place a winner. I ate here twice in two days with two very different groups of people and all 13 people I was with were happy. The kids menu is a very good deal, and the service was friendly, though a little slow at times. The mango sauce was good, as was the green curry sauce. The fries have the skin on them and are worth paying for as a side.

  • Scott I.

Great fries, tons of different sauces too. Its usually super busy so plan accordingly.

  • Jimmy L.

First and foremost the wait was not worth it at all, we waited an hour and a half to be seated. It was very unorganized how they arranged the wait list. I had a party of 4 and was on the wait list for already an hour. A table of 5 opened up so the hostes decides to sit the party behind us that really agrivated our party. Just for that they deserve a 1 in my book. The chilli wasn't bad and the burger was pretty good. The only thing that stood out was the creative sauces the had " creamy horseradish " on a burger was great. That's why I rate it a 3. I would come back again but only after 9pm.

Best burgers in Breck! Everything is homemade! Great Cobb Salad, fresh cut fries (could be a bit crispier), great wings! Huge selection of "dipping sauces" for fries, onion rings, etc. These guys have 2 other restaurants in town (Giampietro's for pizza/pastaand Briar Rose for fine dining, and both are excellent for the price). Outdoor seating is popular year round (provided its sunny).

Forget the burgers; they're just not very good. We ate there this Saturday and the place was busy and the service lousy. If you want meat, go with the cheese steak, good (but not Philly good), and the onion rings are very good, as are the french fries. Go when they're not busy and you'll get this stuff very hot (ours was slightly below proper temp).

6 of us went for dinner 2 nights ago and had what we thought to be a funny server experience. We really liked that when they bring out your order, the server stacks all of the burgers on his arm so your table is served complete at 1 time. I jokingly mentioned to our server that we will be very impressed if all the food gets placed in front of the right person. He snarkily replied "whadya think, this is my first day"? The funny part is he got 4 of 6 wrong. We didn't say anything because he didn't have much of a sense of humor. At least he didn't screw up the 1mac burger to go. All in all the food was good but nothing great.

Empire Burger rules! I had a guacamole bacon burger, and it actually was cooked medium as requested. That alone seems to be kind of hard to find. The fries were very tasty, and are ordered with "dipping sauces" on the side. The ubiquitous microbrews were welcome, though we didn't venture to try the martinis. The place is a little small but has a lively bar for hanging out after a long ski day. FYI I live in Chicago, and IMHO there are some really good burgers places here. Empire easily stands up to just about any of them.

Nice place. The hamburgers are ok--not great--but they do a good job with the trimmings. Beer selections are very good and it's a nice atmosphere to hang out. I would think of this more as a lunch or snack place than for dinner.

Solid burger joint with some creative burger creations. I had a hawaiian type burger with pineapple, ham, and firecracker sauce - if you like some spice - very good burger. Home cut style fries are good to especially when combined with the various sauce selections - like curry catsup.

This is the ONLY PLACE I'm willing to eat at in Breckenridge. Order every single starter you can find on the menu!! LOL they are all really good. Zucchini, Mushrooms, Fries, you name it....its all delicious. Oh and the burgers...aside from ones I've had in Denver Empire is probably one of the best burgers I've had. After a long day on the mountain you will be satisfied after coming here.

In our short week in Breckenridge, we went here twice. We liked both the atmosphere and the food. Both times I had a bison burger with various toppings. The servings are big so I didn't have a lot of room for fries, but the sauces are so great that they're worth saving room for. Both times we sat outside and enjoyed watching the world go by. It was crowded but we didn't feel pushed to eat and leave quickly. The servers are typical young people and I was impressed with both their efficiency and friendliness.

Highly recommend Empire for a casual night out of dining. The buffalo burger was great with a shared large plate of fries and sauces. The staff provide excellent service and the agave margarita has to be one of the best margaritas I have ever had. Excellent dining experience.

Pretty solid burger spot, set up like a sports bar. They have a number of different burger choices including substituting their typical ground beef burger for buffalo meat or turkey meat. They have a number of different sauce choices that you can choose from which make for an interesting sandwich. We also had wings for appetizers, and these wings were pretty good as well! Definitely one of the better food spots to watch a game or event. Oh and another plus, was that the waiter was able to split our check into 8 different ones including splitting the appetizers 8 different ways.

Empire Burger is probably the best burger in town, save for the Kobe beef burger at South Ridge, but that's just one entree. Empire gives you OPTIONS! The beef is old-style ground, and the fries come with great dipping sauces (Sriracha Mayo and Wasabi are my favorite for kick; Peppercorn is a good one for mellow flavor). Onion rings are also good, and the PBR's are a cheap beer, and I never thought I'd say that I actually don't mind Pabst if you want a light watery beer like Bud. Service is merely OK here, sometimes you get a really great wait experience, other times you don't. I think the jalapeno chicken sandwich could be much spicier, and while the chicken is perfectly cooked, I think it's kind of boring. But still worth the order as I just like spice. The bar in the middle/community table is a good place to get a quick spot, but they made the table too high so you feel a bit small. Atmosphere is friendly and cheerful, and it's open late. One note is that don't expect to get your burger cooked to order. The cooks are not great at getting that message. Medium, medium rare... no difference--they tend to be over-cooked. But still good and juicy if not totally BAD FOR YOU! Great place for outside in summer, good late night, and good apres or during the ski day if you're on Peak 9 (sure beats the gross overpriced food at the ski area). Another alternative with a wider menu is Breck Brewery or Downstairs at Eric's. Delivery is via Gourmet Cabby, which I do not recommend.

I go to Breck a couple of times a year and this place is always on my list of things to do within the first few nights of being in town. Their burgers are excellent and their specialty sauces are fantastic. I typically get the green chili buffalo burger with fries and a side of garlic mayo.

  • Michael B.

Pretty good burgers. I had their bacon cheeseburger and it was quite good. Also the sauces are really good. One thing I didn't care for is that everything is ala carte. This is not too big of a deal but it can make for a somewhat expensive meal when you are out with a group. Still the burgers, fries and the various sauces are all pretty good.

I love burgers and they make one of the finest around! Best in town for sure. Quality beef and buns and amazing toppings!!! Fries also might be the best in town! Not sold yet? They make amazing nachos! My favorite!!! They're definitely an American version with TONS of cheddar, refried beans, sour cream, guac and such on freshly made chips. My only knock on Empire? The onion rings look amazing but only taste ok. Batter needs some seasoning as they're bland. My tip: add garlic mayo to any/every burger! It's gold!!!

  • Emily R.

YUM! I like to say that I'm a saucy person. I had the basic bacon cheeseburger with a small side of fries. As for my sauce side, I got two Sweet Mango Chutney. The chutney is not like original chutneys where it is similar to jam, it was more as I like to call it, Americanized. It was sweet, but not too sweet. You could really taste the mango. I could go on and on about how much I loved it. The burger was great and the bacon was fried to perfection. The fries were hand cut and lightly salted to perfection. Overall, I highly recommend stopping in if you're in Breck! It's a cute and cozy restaurant near the end of Main St. It will cure your burger cravings and their specialty sauces will take your burger and fries to a whole new level. I'll definitely be back. P.s. If anyone knows the recipe for their sweet mango chutney, please pass it along...

The thing is, we're from Dallas and we have 10+ local gourmet burger chains. This is good enough, but if it were in Dallas I don't see them doing all that well. Also, cooking up something greasy and fatty and making it taste good is really easy. Family of four, wife had a salad and kids/I had burgers. Yep, they were good enough, but nothing amazing. Fries were good. Also, no hard feelings not rounding up beyond 3 stars when you carry Pepsi.

Good service good food nice atmosphere on the patio this last week - we walked/hiked the peak to peak (Breck to Frisco) and my husband needed a hamburger - the blue cheese wedge was out of this world delicious and large enough to feed 4!

Empire burger was a late night suggestion from our hotel courtesy van driver. A local, originally from Britain, was a wealth of information on the local eateries, and he said empire was a must try burger joint. Everyone knows family vacations and burger joints are a must for the yelpers of the world. Enter the empire world and things get loud in a hurry. The long bar area greets the right side, while a long table, and patio seating flank the left. 20-something locals are still enjoying themselves at 9pm, it's a late dinner for us. Service was prompt, but it looked like our waitress was pulling a double, as her facial expressions screamed I want to be home sleeping. Nonetheless, empire food, here we come. Our party of 10 ordered onion rings, nachos, fried pickles, burgers, salads, and everything was awesome...conversations stopped and food consumption began. Everyone really enjoyed their food, the salads were an especially big hit, as they were large and had all the fixings to elevate them to a must try for salad fans...4 stars to because, while food was 5 stars, noise and slightly sluggish service brought the experience down just a hair, don't really like that term with restaurants, so let's go with notch this time...

It was a good and tasty burger. I believe it was a bit overpriced. I've had burgers almost half the price be just as good. The toppings were a bit skimpy.

We came here on recommendation of our shuttle driver. We had passed it up during the week, but thought we'd give it a shot after the recommendation. First things first. This place is called Empire Burger. That being said, I will admit before writing anything further, that I should have just ordered one thing and one thing only...a BURGER. The menu is quite varied, but predicable. Loaded with burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc. The standard "bar and grill" food in a ski town. We ordered some apps, onion rings and fried zucchini. These were breaded in some type of "crunchy not quite panko" type of breading, but still had some crunch to it. They were good, but the rings we had at Downstairs at Eric's the night before were WAY better. Just saying. Cut to the chase. I ordered a Cobb Salad because I was tired of fried pub food after a few days and needed something fresh and green. The result? It was green all right. Green lettuce and some other salad colors but it was not quite as fresh as I had envisioned. The tomatoes were diced and obviously refrigerated before being added to my salad. Tomatoes do not belong in the refrigerator. They turn cold and mushy. BTW, so do avocados. The salad was not the worst, but by far from the best. I will settle on mediocre. The kicker. Ordered nachos with cheese for my kid. They arrived as a huge pile of chips that had been covered in shredded cheese and placed in the oven. A portion of the chips were actually burt with dark spots all over them. The cheese had hardened before it arrived at the table. These were not even edible! Bonus kicker... When our blonde waitress (this will come in handy for future reference) asked if we wanted to box up the nachos, I told her that they really were not very good and they couldn't even be eaten the way they came to the table. She did a half frown and said, "Yes, they aren't very good here. You should try the nachos at "INSERT OTHER ESTABLISHMENT HERE" instead. They are sooooo good there! But I don't really like the way they make ours." WTH?? Really? Did she really just say that? Thanks after the fact for letting me know your nachos really stink here. Thanks but no thanks for the warning. When our bills came, of course they would be messed up. We only had two families here. Two tickets. The tickets were all willy nilly! When she tried to explain what she did, she excused her mess-up with, "Oh sorry, I'm blonde so I make stupid mistakes!" Seriously, this happened. After another later moment of forgetfulness, she again said, "I'm blonde, what can I say!" Uggg. That's all I can say. 1 star for the burgers that others in our party ordered and actually liked. 0 for my crummy "salad" 0 for the crummy "nachos" (which I hear are way better at that other bar down the street) 0 for the waitress who forgot (sugar, lemons, the extra cup, water refills, bringing our ticket!) 1 bonus star for the guy (from Overland Park, KS) who actually knew his stuff! THANKS DUDE!

Really good. And really fast. Friendly helpful staff and a cool location. Burgers were out freaking standing. Excellent meat, very little gristle, perfect seasoning, and awesome cheese! Fries were perfect. And the variety of sauces was a cool touch. Only drawback were the chicken fingers. Dry and over-cooked. But the teenage son ate them anyway - so they couldn't have been too bad. Will go again!

Love love love this place. Every time we visit Breck we come here for burgers. This place knows how to make a good burger and how to have a good time. The service is always awesome. The servers are usually super chill and the food comes up quick. We always order the frings - we both love onion rings and fries so this gives us the perfect combination. We always switch up the sauces depending upon what we're in the mood. I always like the spicy and sweet ones. It's always tough to choose! So many great options! This last time I ordered the Kona Burger - so yummy. I love the combo of the teriyaki and pineapple with the burger. I know this isn't for everyone but it's one of my favorites. Their chicken tenders are also really good - plus you get to choose some more of those fab sauces! Can't wait til I'm back up in Breck for another visit!

Small, local burger joint with good beer. Great service and food. The Western Burger was legit and the chili was really good. Decent prices. Looking for a small town burger joint? Come here.

Good place for all-American burgers. Even our son who only wanted grilled cheese found happiness. The wedge salad was good, and the green chile cheeseburger hit the spot at the end of a long day. We also tried the Kona burger, which was sweet and spicy. The only thing we didn't like was having to order our fries separately. Fries and burgers belong together. We tried the fried zucchini chips, and they were ok. Very salty and not a ton of flavor, but they passed the test of crunchy and savory. The staff was friendly and helpful. Glad we hit this place during the off-season, I'm sure they fill up when the snow flies.

The food here is insane! I mean, have you seen the wedge salad?! The thing is completely covered with creamy dressing, as if ten guys circle-jerked and jizzed all over it. And they're sure generous with the bleu cheese. Um...overload! I will say, the burgers are the bomb! I split a Green Chile Cheeseburger with buffalo patty and biting into it was such bliss - pepper jack cheese-enhanced meat juice dripping down my chin. I rarely eat burgers (especially with the bun), so this was definitely a happy fat girl moment. Since I don't believe in burgers without booze, I must implore folks to try the margaritas.

Honestly one of the best burgers I've ever had. The wait can be long but that is actually a good sign. Let's start with each the service. It's pretty darn good with multiple people always on the lookout for empty glasses or empty plates to take away. You the food is delivered hot and fresh. You can't ask for more. 5 stars Burgers - awesome! Simple yet expertly crafted!! Just a great burger that's still a burger and not some science experiment turned into a guccie $20 burger. Great burger at a great price for Breck!! 5 stars Fries - great!! Comes out hand cut and fresh with a nice crisp. Don't forget the onion rings. Get the half and half and get two dipping sauces. Can't go wrong. 4 1/2 stars All together I really enjoy this place. I want to try different places in Breck but it's hard not to go here!!!!!!! Go and enjoy!!

Stopped by here after a good hike. Great location- right near the middle of town. We were greeted as soon as we walked in. Food was really fast, got in within 15 minutes of ordering. I got the classic burger with an order of fries. The fries were pretty good. I like my fries cooked more on the crispy side which is how they were! The burger: AMAZING. The patty was very juicy and not too thick. Cooked medium which was perfect! Toppings were very fresh and the bun made the burger even more perfect! Bathroom was fairly clean, restaurant itself was very clean from what I could tell. They have plenty of TVs and a great bar. Service was good, drinks were topped off in a timely fashion and server was polite and fast.

I love empire burger! Been eating here for over 5 years. After reading Tracey from KS review I felt the need to write a positive review (read hers for a good laugh, yeah go to a burger place and order nachos and Cobb salads and complain?!) The burgers here are delicious especially the guacamole bacon one. The fries are good, handcut and fresh. I love the variety of dipping sauces you can choose from, some great ones jalapeño ranch to mango chutney. The only reason not 5 stars is some of the staff needs to be friendlier but mini complaint.

Great! Every single thing I ate here was awesome. Zucchini chips, Caesar salad, onion rings.. All bomb. But wait for it.. I ordered their veggie burger cheddar cheese LTO with a fried egg and gauc. HOLY (Veggie) COW I was in heaven. I felt like a total fatty but couldn't help it. This place has it going on - and for a reasonable price! Beer lovers be aware though - their draft list isn't very long. However the days I was there the small list they did offer was great to me. Ranger IPA to wash all that down? Good with me :)

this place is AMAZING! Seriously, some of the best service I have encountered. Our waiter (wish I could remember his name) was super friendly and gave us reccomendations for fries because there are SOOOO many options on this menu. We got the cheese fries with ranch/bbq dipping sauce and it was amazing. I am the queen of ranch (Seriously put it on errythang) and I now have a ranch-bbq combo to add to my arsenal when baking fries at home! The burgers here are awesome- very big, tasty buns, lots of different toppings and cheeses. I got the bacon cheeseburger classic with no onions, pickles on the side, and buffalo as meat. When they came out and said "buffalo" I thought they meant sauce so i accidentally sent my order back. I realized my mistake and was super apologetic (seriously I felt like a MORON!) and the waiter was so kind about it! Hailing from manhattan, I was expecting to get yelled at for doing something this dumb...but he was so sweet and said that misunderstandings like that happen all the time. I am recommending Empire Burger to all my family and friends as a must in Breck. Y'all rock!

OM-YUM! I don't even know where to begin! Let's break it down: 1 star = For the awesome location, so close to the heart of the town. You can walk from picking up you ski or boarding gear and fill up for a long day. 2 stars = For the comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. I sat at the bar but the seating offers a wide variety of options for any size group. 3 stars = For the wide, WIDE variety of dipping sauces they offer with your fries or other side. Sriracha mayo?! Need I say more... Love! 4 stars = Several tvs around so you don't miss out on your favorite hockey teams. 5 stars = Last but not least is the burger... Oh the burger. I sure did save the best for last! I had the bacon cheeseburger with cheddar cheese. It was fabulous. Cooked to my perfect medium with all the trimmings (onion, avocado, and pickles) served up just in time to quench my appetite. Next time I'm up Breckenridge ways I can't wait to swing back in and try one of their other deliciously satisfying and wonderfully tasty meals!

Super yummy! The jalapeno ranch and fresh cut fries were amazing. The burger was splendid as well. My only complaint, and a small one, is that I would have enjoyed a slightly hotter green chile. Service was fantastic and prices were very reasonable.

In Breckenridge over the Fourth of July and my family was really craving a burger. This place totally hit the spot. I ordered the guacamole bacon cheeseburger and was not disappointed. I also go a side of onion rings that were pretty good. Perhaps the best part of the restaurant was the service. I was in a party of 8 with very picky eaters. Our waitress Kimberly got all of our orders right and was super friendly! Overall, great eats, good atmosphere, and awesome service.

Fast friendly service, but my food was marginal. Has the green chili burger without the bun. Unimaginative. Fries were good....but food new. $10 cab in cup...not wine glass? Mew

This is a Breck gem. After climbing Quandary the other day quite litterally all I wanted was a burger completely coated in amazingness. Search burgers driving back into Breck from the South, and lo and behold Empire pops up first in Yelp. Glad it did, because this is exactly that, a no-nonsense burger place with excellent burgers, fries, and dipping sauces to die for (don't miss the Siracha Mayo, or ketcup curry). I had a buffalo burger western style, onions, BBQ sauce, cheese, smothered the burger, amazing. I sat at the bar and the bartender was incredibly welcoming despite the crazy lunch crowd (almost all locals thank goodness) he made some small talk and helped me through the menu. The prices were awesome for Breckenridge, and the service and speed were fantastic. I'll be back for sure.

My husband and I were in the mood for a good burger during our short stay in Breckenridge so we were excited to find Empire Burger. We asked if we could have our beagle sit with us out on the patio and they said yes. It seemed as though the music inside was a little loud so we were happy to dine outside. Our server was really nice but not incredibly helpful when talking about the menu. He did give us a few tips. My husband asked quite a few questions about the beers but our server didn't seem too knowledgeable. Ultimately he ended up with a bottle of something dark and I got a Blackberry, Sage and Lime Margarita. I really liked my drink. It was nicely done and came out promptly. Our food was on another level of awesome. We started with the Asian Firecracker Wings with Wasabi Mayo. They. Were. Awesome. The wings were cooked very well with a hint of sweet and a really nice heat that didn't melt your face off, but was pleasantly spicy. They were very pretty too with a mix of black and white sesame seeds. I love that they give you lots of really good celery with your wings. The Wasabi Mayo was really interesting and complimented the wings perfectly. I got the Guacamole Bacon Burger, fries and the Sriracha Mayo. The actual meat on the burger was perfectly seasoned and was so tender. The bun was really good (I really hate it when places a great burger together and then slap it on those terrible buns that turn to mushy paste when the burger juices run out). Their guacamole had really good avocado flavor and played off the saltiness of the bacon perfectly. It was a very well-balanced burger. I didn't even miss cheese on this burger. The only thing I would've liked more is if they replaced the iceberg lettuce with something like green leaf. The Sriracha Mayo with the fries was a glorious combination and I loved it! My guy got the Red Chili Cheddar Burger. He expected the combination of the burger and chili to be too salty. He really liked that the chili was a consistency that was neither too thick nor too thin. It was a messy burger to eat but not as bad as he had imagined. While the chili seemed pretty basic, he noted that it was very well done, especially for use on a burger. The sauce Mike chose for his fries was the Sweet Mango Chutney and he really liked it. We would love to come back to Empire Burger again! There were so many other sauces to try but I'd be hard-pressed to get anything other than the Sriracha Mayo...

I was in Breckenridge for business and ordered food to-go here. It was pretty lively and busy around 9-10 on a Saturday. Seemed like a good place to hang out and drink. Ordered from the bartender who was very friendly. Watched him while waiting for my food as he entertained a group of girls that were out for a birthday. He was very friendly and social, but not at all creepy, and he worked fast. He even did a fire trick that actually brought a smile to the debby-downer birthday girl's face. He definitely is an employee to keep around. Ordered the portobello mushroom burger with fries. Bartender suggested to get their house dipping sauce. REALLY GOOD. Everything was cooked well. Food was overall very tasty. I'd eat here again if I were in town.

  • Cody C.

Our waitress was an informative, attentive, and nice. The food took entirely too long to get to the table. All we ordered was French fries, onion rings, and fried mozzarella and it took 25 minutes. It's a ski town restaurant so the quality of food was what was expected. It felt like we were at a show-nothing Hooters.

I've been here twice since I've moved to Denver and it's one of my absolute favorite places for a burger already! I know we have SO many choices, but when I'm in Breckenridge for lunch... this is one place I want to go to! Both times I've ordered the Green Chile Cheeseburger and have yet to be let down. I learned the first time from a coworker to split the fries because the burgers are a good size... and they were right. If you like a good burger and you're in Breckenridge, I definitely suggest it!

Not much to say but the best burger in breck hands down. I enjoy the classic cheeseburger with pepper jack cheese and fries and I ALWAYS get the wasabi mayo. It's so good!!! My fave burger I've ever had (and I love burgers).

Best bargain in Breck. Great food and usually crowded, but worth the wait. Staff can be overwhelmed sometimes, but given the crowds, it's understandable. Great sauces for dipping too. Green chilli on burgers.

Extremely snappy and efficient service. Strong and fresh margaritas. Family friendly. Burgers are solid and filling. Fries and rings were delicious compliments. Interesting sauces for dipping. I needed help getting home.

This place is unique because they have over 1 dozen dipping sauces that you can choose from. Their burgers are of big portion, the hubby and I shared one and we were full. A half portion of their fries is more than enough for 2 people. Some of the comments talk about how this place is pricey, but because their portions are large you can easily share and cut your price in half. One more bonus point - They are generous with the bacon on the bacon cheeseburger - gotta love that!

  • Amanda M.

This is a good place to sit on the patio, have a good burger and day drink! My friend and I shared the guacamole bacon cheeseburger and loaded nachos! It was delish! They have a large selection of beers which didn't hurt either! I would definitely recommend and go back!

Had the Green Chili Cheeseburger. One of the best. The bun was warm and soft. Excellent medium premium beef topped with swiss cheese and green chili's. It was incredible. My wife had the Guacamole & Bacon burger. She loved it. Onion rings on the side with BBQ & Ranch dip was excellent. Steph loved the mango chutney dip. What an incredible lunch.

This is our go to place whenever we don't feel like cooking at home. And it serves the majority of the items on the menu until 1:00 am (every night of the week). You can't find a better burger in Breck.

Food was decent. Not amazing, but good. Fries and fry sauces are really good and fun to pick a sauce. (It's the little things... ;) ). The problem here was the service. It was horrendous. Our server kept walking by us, never offered more drinks, let us sit for a good 10 min after he brought out bill and we pulled out our card. It totally ruined dinner. Wouldn't go back.

Great food, great service! The wait for this place can get pretty long especially during holiday season but it's worth the wait! The staff is extremely friendly and patient even when they can barely walk through all the people waiting in line. I had the bacon cheeseburger and fries. They have an assortment of dipping sauces for the fries and I enjoyed all of them! I would recommend this place for anyone looking for great burgers with friendly service. Just prepare to wait in line!

Hands down the the best Turkey Burger and Chili Fries EVER! The service was amazing but the food quality was perfection. I wish they had more locations. Only call out is the portions are large but heavenly.

Visited here with my family and ordered a the guacamole and chips, burger w / fried egg, husband ordered a mushroom swiss burger and daughter had the chicken strips. Everything was over the top delicious! I also had a margarita...wow amazing! Not some gross sour mix. Fresh and yummy! Love this place and the service was above point! Very friendly and knowledgeable! 10 stars!!!!

Great burgers. Great service. Our server Carl was phenomenal- had a mix up on our drink order and he accommodated w/o flinching. Above and beyond service, great patio and phenomenal burgers/onion rings! You Won't be disappointed.

Pros: Good burger Sauce varieties In the middle of it all Cons: Super slow service Crowded Expensive I'd heard a lot of talk about this place and wanted to add it to my burger list... and the burgers were good, but overall the experience was not great. I would not return, but I'm glad to check it off my list.

  • Nicole N.

Yum! I had the chicken and Swiss, and it was great! (A little messy, but totally worth it!) onion rings were great and homemade. I had the strawberry moonshine lemonade- very refreshing! My only complaint is the kids meal- my son had chicken fingers and they were over cooked. Kids meals need TLC too!

  • Leah P.

Hoorah for french fries! The fries were really the stand-out item here. Our burgers were reasonably satisfying, thought I thought the toppings were more thoroughly vetted than the burger itself (I need me a high-quality patty!). The fries, however, were magical. Our only real complaint was the time it took. We went in on a lazy Sunday afternoon (after the resort had closed) and it took a long time to even put an order in, despite there being very few other guests. Thankfully we weren't in a huge rush, but definitely expect a relaxed atmosphere when it comes to timing. All of that is meaningless though. FRENCH FRIES!

  • Allyson K.

The burgers here are amazing! I got just a regular bison burger and wanted another. It's small, like a lot of the other restaurants in that location, but they have great seating at the bar and around small tables. The bartender who made our drinks that night made them perfectly! I had a strawberry basil margarita that was so delicious! I would definitely go back.

  • Katie K.

Great food, great service! 1st time there and all the food was so fresh! Had a bacon cheeseburger and tried the buffalo patty instead which was a solid choice! Also the sauces that come with the fries are great! Only negative is they put everything on ur burger even condiments unlike normal restaurants and I was unaware and hate mustard...would be nice if it said that in the menu. Otherwise definitely a reasonable breck burger!

  • Ard K.

The burgers were fantastic. Everything seems very fresh, the onion rings tasted light and delicious and i love the extensive sauce menu. Our waitress gave me a strong indication that she had somewhere else to go: cell phone sticking out of pocket, she dropped the check on our table while the plates were still half full (we were actually planning to have desert) and took away my friends plate while he still had one third of his burger in hand. Leaving Empire, unfortunately the great burgers were not our topic of discussion. Five star for food, one star for service. I will give this place a new try on my next visit to Breckenridge.

I had the red chili cheddar burger and fries. It was great. The beer was cold. The waitress was cool. My wife had a cobb salad that she loved. An all around great experience. I definitely recommend Empire Burger!

We arrived after the end of a conference to grab food and we had a party of about 12... We were starving and wanted to just enjoy good food and fellowship. My son had come in his stroller and was sound asleep, as soon as we walked in this guy comes walking up and says stroller has to go. The door did say that they didn't allow stroller, however the restaurant wasn't busy and I asked if there was a way that I could allow him to sleep and when he woke up just park the stroller outside. He told me I could leave my kid outside but the stroller wasn't coming in. I get they don't allow stroller but a little bit of niceness would have actually gone a long way and sometimes it's not what you say but how you say it. We went across the street and spent $750.00 my crew can eat. Will not go back to empire at any cost.

Finally a burger place with a creative menu. This place was recommended to us by all the locals, and I am so glad I followed their advice. I had the classic burger (although I really did appreciate the creative menu...from afar.) Boyfriend had the guacamole burger, I tried it, the guac reminded me of Chipotle's guac which is my faaaaave. We got fries and onion rings, both hit the spot. Their onion rings aren't your typical crispy Burger King types, they were softer but fried perfectly. The jalapeño ketchup just tasted like regular ketchup, not worth the extra $0.75.

Yummy food, punctual and kind staff. The buffalo western burger was a hit after a day of skiing.

We ate dinner here on our first night in Breckenridge. Burgers were good nothing to rave about but the fries and onion rings were AMAZING! We would go back just for those! All the dipping sauces were great too! I'm a fry dipper so I loved that they offer dipping sauces with fries!

Stopped here after a 10 mile hike up to peak 8 and were starving! Empire did not disappoint. Zucchini chips was a large serving so shareable - some of the best I've had. My son had the Kona burger and he said it was fantastic. My wife and I had salads - different ones but both were huge with awesome fresh ingredients and well proportioned. The vegetarian Cobb I had with portobello mushrooms was wonderful.

Great burgers Definitely the best service I've had at a bar in recent memory. Jason (bartender and manager) not only preformed a keg change to make a NASCAR pit crew blush with envy but sniped orders across the bar and executed them with deadly accuracy. Do visit this spot when in Breckenridge and be sure to meet the man when you do.

This place has some good burgers. All cooked to medium unless you say differently, and mine was actually cooked to medium! I tried the Western Burger ($9) with a side of fries and BBQ ranch. They have a ton of dipping sauces to choose from, all of which look great. It was a bit of a wait, but once we sat down, the burgers came out really quickly. Friendly service. Pros: great burgers, lot of dipping sauces for the fries Cons: long wait, loud

  • Mike B.

Took the kids and we really enjoyed the place. Kids got burgers that were very good, with homemade buns. Wife had the wedge salad, and I had the Cobb salad and this is the best Cobb I have had in a while, it was also huge. The fried zucchini chips with mango chutney was very good.

Amazing burgers. Tried the Kona Burger and went to heaven. Perfect combination of sweetness and spicy sauce My wife and 4 year old had the cheese burger and were planing to come back every day Not the cheapest burger, but once you taste it, you don't care anymore. A must go!!

  • Bern S.

I had a feeling my burger was gonna be good when I saw how fluffy crisp and fresh the bun looked. Well my hopes were even surpassed! A perfect combination of toppings came on the burger which was quality meat. The mango chutney sauce for the perfectly crisped fries was a very pleasant surprise. Very diligent yet friendly and relaxed waitstaff (especially our waiter Kevin).

Stopped in one evening for a meal. Sat out on their patio. Our server was Ryan and he was very friendly and his service was great. Had their Chicken Finger meal, and it was good. Convenient location to our hotel. Will go back again on our next visit.

Brought the kids. Had bbq burger. Tastes good. Does not come with side...those are extra. Welcome to Breck. Onion rings were solid but not my favorite(i am a connoisseur ) ...like them thin ...a bit expensive for the food. Ambiance is crowded. Loud. Was able to check it off of the list...Would not go back...just meh...Nothing stood out.

1st impressions were pretty good. Our group (6) from Milwaukee WI. All the burgers were just fine, fries, rings, and sauces were really good as well. Props to our shuttle driver who recommended Empire. If your in the area, stop in right away. cheers. (Choc shake is a hit too) Pricey but tasty. About $20 pp with tip.

Yummmmm. After a cold day of skiing, sometimes you just want a warm sandwich and some fries. Empire burger knows what's up and provides awesomeness on both fronts. The fries are extra yummy and quite share-able, so bring friends.

Nice bar type environment, great location. Great loaded nachos with plenty of jalapeños. Burgers was great, black bean burger was awesome, fries R tasty, margaritas are pretty good but on small side. Definitely a must stop while in Breck

This review is not for the food, but the way my pregnant wife and I were treated by the waitress. Even though the restaurant was empty, they wouldn't allow us to sit at a table and insisted that we sit by the cramped tiny corner table. It was the worst treatment that we've had at Breckenridge. For better service I would recommend Park and Main next door.

  • Cameron M.

This joint has become a regular stop for us as we head to the hills for some skiing. We drive up Monday afternoon, have dinner here and ski the rest of the week. The food is pretty good and the staff are always super friendly. Lots of dip options for your fries or whatever so it's fun to experiment with different flavors. We keep saying we want to try something else just to diversify our one meal in town for the week but it's hard to break away from something that works so well.

For the simpler side of a menu, the quality is good for the occasional burger. Excellent fries and good sauces for dipping. The bartender Jason made my day with his service, smiles, and good attitude. I will go back again!

Burger Joints and Breastaurants are the latest Craze nowadays and Great Recession proof businesses so we decided to check out the famous one in town in Breckenridge, CO. The wait was ridiculous so we decided to go downstairs to an Oxygen Bar for a few minutes but by the time we got back we had lost our seats which was no big deal so we decided to just wait it out. The menu was similar to any new age Burger Bar but i decided to get the Mushroom Swiss Burger without any toppings plus carmelized Onions and mushrooms on a bun so i can get a good feel of the burger and not distracted by the toppings. Across the table my friends ordered a variety of things like Buffalo Burger, Chipotle Burgers and Nacho Fries which didnt look or taste too good and my friend tried to get them to add more cheese to it because it lacked cheese. For my Burger, It was a decent sized patty and made medium just the way i like it but the patty wasn't seasoned properly enough for me to experience a Food Crush on it. other than that the burger was ok. I wouldn't rank it near any of the Burger spots i have been around the Country but for someone who hasn't stepped out of Colorado i can imagine how this place can be the King of Burger Joints.

Too bad... could have been a contender...if they got the order right. Ordered for take out, ordered a buncha stuff... 2 burgers, fries, wings, salad.... wrong on the burger. This place looks like it gets really busy.... I'll call it quaint. It's a pretty small burger joint, and from the standpoint that it might be one of very few in town, sure... a hangout. Wasn't really happy that they got one of the burger orders wrong. I think they just did a bacon cheeseburger instead of the guac that was requested. The wings as buffalo style were quite spicy... and while I didn't really like them, am not really faulting them for that. The bleu cheese that was on the salad was quite good. The fries were a bit soggy, but that might have been because we took a bit longer time finding the place cuz the map was a bit off. I'd try them again... if I'm in the area... but that's not really likely any time soon.

Great burger, great location, and a friendly staff combine to make for one of the better casual dining restaurants in Breckenridge. There are two specialties here -- burgers, which come in many sizes, flavors, and options, and fries, which come with a large set of options for dipping sauces. Both are quite good. Get the BBQ ranch dipping sauce if your get o-rings or fries! While it has a full bar, there are only two beers on tap -- luckily the kona ale is good, and goes well with burgers. Props btw for both indoor and outdoor seating! Finally, the staff there was friendly, but maybe it was because it was slow and they were bored. This is a place I'll visit every time I go to Breckenridge.

We got out burger fixings up in Breck at Empire Burger and wasn't disappointed. I just had to try a buffalo burger and it was really good, lean and tasty! My wife had a regular bacon cheeseburger and she liked it a lot too. With an order of onion rings (which were also really good with a jalapeno ranch and mango sauces) and a beer, our meal was awesome! We later filled up on a chocolate shake which hit the spot! Luckily we went on slow night, so it wasn't as noisy. Their are TVs around the bar area to watch all the sports going on too. We would definitely go their again.

Build your own burger...YES! Empire Burger lets you do exactly that. As for burger joints in Breck, this one ranks up there with them. Although the style the restaurant is ran, it has a fast food feel in my opinion. The food itself, obviously the burgers, is good. The choices of toppings, bread, and meat is nice. Will suggest the buffalo patty, was tasty. The food is somewhat cooked to order but I don't remember the patty being huge or cooked really close to how I ordered it. The burger overall was good but not outstanding. They do serve alcohol here. There's a mix of beers and cocktails. The margaritas were okay but expensive. I don't remember any beers on draft but that may have changed. Overall, I've been to better "build your own burger" joints that have featured more sauces, organic toppings and thicker patties.

Right up front, I'm not going to Empire Burger for my health. If you are looking for a delicious burger with sweet, succulent onion rings and a terrific milkshake (with no regard for calories), this is your place. Yes, I think they cook the meat patties in butter, but after a long day of hiking, riding, or just walking up and down Main Street, this place really hits the spot. Service can be a little slow, and the dining room isn't overly eloquent, but it's the kind of place my kids (ages 11 and 13) talk about for weeks and they use it as a benchmark for comparing burgers and rings in other places. Lots of options and creativity on the menu, there really is something for just about everyone. It is what it is and that's awesome!

This place is great! I went there after a day of white water rafting and it was perfect! I had the guacamole bacon burger with fries and it was amazing. The guacamole was really fresh and the burger tasted super up-scale. I also had the all-natural margarita, which was very tasty also. The fries and/or onion rings come with a choice of around 20 sauces. All the sauces sound very inventive and interesting; the mango chutney was great. The server was extremely helpful and attentive, but not too attentive or hovering. GREAT burger place in Breck!

It's okay as an outside burger place, food won't disappoint you. If its busy, service will be an issue. If its raining, go somewhere else,it will just be a frustrating busy place. Small inside, and they'll pack you on this big center table that's too tall to eat on.

Great burgers. Stopped in today for lunch with the family. We all enjoyed our burgers. I had a classic cheeseburger. It was superbly done, flavorful, and just what I expected. The fries were very good too! Try them with the BBQ sauce!

Empire is a great burger shop with fantastic margaritas. The staff is super friendly and tries really hard to manage in such a small place. best meal I had in Breckenridge, that's for sure...

Once upon a time I heard a rumor. Rather, I heard the whisper of a great kingdom that had arisen in the West. It was said that none could rival the dominance and preeminence that beckoned from this distant land. And so, like a lamb to the slaughter, I was beckoned to this land, to the Burger Empire. Hands down, this place has the absolute best burger in all of Colorado. Everything about my experience with Empire Burger was delightful. I ordered the western burger, medium-rare, with fries and the Parmesan Peppercorn dipping sauce. Normally, a western burger contains BBQ sauce topped with a mound of deep fried onion rings. However, Empire Burger puts its own unique spin on a classic by using savory grilled onions to enhance the flavor of the beef and balance the tangy sensation of the BBQ sauce. I found it helped give the burger a lighter feel and made each bite about the high quality, delicious tasting beef and not about the toppings slammed on top in a vain attempt to cover the taste of putrid meat. All in all, a great experience. The staff was friendly, the dining area was clean, and if you happen to visit during the summer you can enjoy your meal on the patio, taking in the sights of main street under the shadow of the majestic Rocky Mountains. I guarantee, next time I go skiing in Breckenridge, I will be stopping at Empire Burger on my way out of town.

The western burger was wonderful. Fries delicious. Carl our waiter was very attentive and helpful. Only complaint was the host. He has a condescending attitude that doesn't match the rest if the place.

We took the Grandparents out to eat this evening. Grandpa had to have the "best burger in Breckenridge", so after some research online, we went to try Empire Burger. We were not disappointed!! Grandpa and I had the Western Burger, which was a large burger with generous toppings, and my wife had the fish tacos. We also tried the loaded fries-Boy did they ever live up to their name! All were delicious. Katie, our waitress, provided excellent service, and was very knowledgeable regarding the menu, and took the time to explain the various menu items, and favorites of past customers. We also enjoyed the atmosphere. It was clean, relaxed, and not too loud for talking with each other. We definitely recommend Empire Burger, as Grandpa and family left very happy As for me, I'll definately be back.

Great burgers. I recommend one of their margaritas. Good bartender. A little crowded so expect a good 25 min wait.

  • Fareed T.

Really solid burger. Very good. The fries were a bit over cooked, but the curry ketchup dipping sauce was incredible. I had the bleu cheese burger and it was juicy, tasty, and fresh. I got the lunch combo that had a burger, fries, and a soft drink fog $7.50. That is awesome! Even though the burger wasn't a total five star, I'm giving it 5 for the overall value and quality.

Another great place in Breckenridge for good value food for a family. Lots of burger/sandwich options, and my husband and son loved the Cuban pork sandwiches. Quick service, no frills, but fills you up and tastes good.

was it the flight? was it the exhaustion from lugging around our boarding equipment? was it b/c our first few restaurant picks were closed at 9p on a monday night? whatever it was, we landed up at empire burger and were glad all those things led us to one tasty meal. both the original burger and the mushroom swiss were solid. not only was the good-sized burger scrumptious, but the crunchy onion rings were fantastic as well. the fries weren't bad, but i stuck to my onion rings. they can be ordered as a half or a full order and each order comes with a choice of your dipping sauce! move aside ketchup, i'm goin with mango chutney and roasted garlic mayo. i'm tempted to eat there again but can't miss out on another potentially good restaurant find!

  • Connor A.

Hostess was extremely rude. Burger was mediocre. Fries are the highlight of the menu. Oh, and did I mention that I was vomiting at 2 AM as a result of the food poisoning I contracted from the restaurant? Not recommended.

Had high hopes for Empire. It looked inviting from the street. Food was average. Not as good as built up here. Certainly not worth the costs. Service was slow and unfriendly. We won't go back.

A reasonably priced and consistently solid dining option in Breckenridge. Empire is open late (1am), and though it does get busy during holidays, the wait is never too long. I've been going here for a few years, and the service has almost always been good if not excellent. The burgers are great; good size patty, quality bun, fresh toppings etc. I don't often eat french fries, but I do like the fries at Empire, and the numerous types of dipping sauce that you can choose from (I go with the roasted garlic mayo, or the wasabi mayo if I want something spicy). I hear good things about the onion rings and the chicken sandwich, but if I'm going to Empire it's for a burger. Parking in Breck can be a pain, but Empire has a pretty good sized lot located in the back off of Ridge Street. The lot is for the entire La Cima Mall and fills up around busy holidays or spring break. Sometimes you have to find street parking a bit further down Ridge.

The green chile burger was very tasty. You have mayo, mustard, letuce, tomato, onions are standard options but with the 20 different dipping sauce options you can really choose your own adventure of what flavors you can add to your burger. The bun was also toasted just right to create a nice canvas to build off of. The server wasn't the happiest person I've ever met but she was very attentive checking back often to make sure we were doing alright even with a packed resturant.

Had a delicious Western Burger! My husband got the Empire Chicken which was very good. The waiter was a little rushed but sitting outside with the great people watching and weather made up for that. Would definitely recommend

For me it takes a lot for a place to get a 4 star rating, and then completely perfect for a place to get a 5 star. Empire Burger took a lot of thought for me. Let's break this down... Walking in to the place I was extremely pleased. The look and layout was really nice. The restaurant / bar is a little small, but then you have to look at the area where this is. Really all the businesses are small in Breckenridge. So here you do have to look past that. The place was moderately busy as we were there on a Friday night in mud season. You could easily see, and expect, that this was a casual dress environment as the wait staff was wearing shorts and t-shirts. With a little child, we were given a coloring sheet for her to draw on. This was really welcomed since she seemed to get a little antsy when waiting for the food. We were not offered crayons though and we had to seek them out. The drinks were nicely priced but we thought that the drink menu would have been a little longer since this is a bar, but that was ok. I had a Guacamole Bacon Burger and we had also shared a fries and onion rings. The wait for food was greater than twenty minutes as if the restaurant had a short order grill. I was told that this was very common for Empire Burger and it did not seem to bother me at all. We did request water, and that was never brought to the table. The food was okay. The guacamole in the burger could have been a little spicier as it seemed to be really bland, which made the burger have little flavor. The fries and onion rings were very good. I did enjoy the sauces; Sriracha Mayo was our favorite just as the waitress recommended it. The Jalapeno Ranch was good but in no comparison. During our meal we did again request water, and it was never brought to us. The price for two is about $30, a very fair price in Breckenridge. I did rate this as 3 stars because I felt that 4 stars is high for me and I had to look at the fact that we had to request water twice and still did not get water and also we were offered a coloring sheet and did not get that. Also the food that we had, except the sauces, although original was not that great to increase the rating with the other downfalls.

Great value considering its ski town location. Service was friendly but not overly so. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger [blue cheese please and with mushrooms] and it came stacked so high that I could only manage to eat half of it before i was stuffed. Definitely would come back.

This place has great burgers and fries and really hits the spot after a day on the slopes or after a mountain bike ride. But to my dismay not many gluten free options here, only a salad and burger without the bun. Would up this to 5 stars if they had gluten free buns and made gluten free fries and probably go back to bringing the family here once a week! Nice folks, friendly staff on all my visits so not consistent with the other bad reviews on service.

Stopped here for a burger and drink. The burger was good and they are open late night. the sauces the provide are pretty good as well, tried the jalepeno ketchup with our onion rings and ite was very nice. The wait staff here is also very nice and very attentive.

You spent the entire friggin' day hauling ass on the slopes. You refused to be ripped off and spend an outrageous $17 on a minuscule bowl of chili on the slopes so you half-heartedly ate a Nature Valley granola bar that you tucked away in one of your 153 pockets because the hotel that you stayed at gave them out for free. And now, 6 hours later, you're more famished than a vegetarian tiger. Oh, and those mouth-watering little ads they cleverly added to the lifts didn't hurt either! Eager to fill the huge void in your stomach, you walk over to Main Street and spot "EMPIRE BURGER". So delirious with hunger, you think it's a mirage... but you walk in and sit on a solid table. Hm, not bad you think to yourself.. must...be...real... A friendly waitress walks over and immediately grants your wish for a juicy, meaty burger with even better-tasting fries. Ugh -- they should have called this place "EMPIRE FRIES" because the fries were crispy, hot, delicious, and better yet, PLENTIFUL. I got a huge basket to myself. The dipping sauces are orgasmic - I got the "Mango Chutney" sauce which makes one think that it could be a nice accompaniment to Indian Masala Chicken, but NO this sauce was mayonnaise-y and full of goodness. Wash it down with a bud light (don't forget the altitude makes you hella woozy cause I did!) and pass out on your hotel bed. You did it - you managed to avoid the deep wallet-sucking traps on the slopes and saved your stomach for empire burger. CONGRATS, now go have yourself a cookie. Oh and PS - they got huge TV screens if you need to catch the Jets pummeling the Colts next week.

I had a basic cheeseburge, came out fresh and delicious. I wasn't impressed with the fries, more like potato skins/wedge hybrid. Would have scored higher but our waitress.was horrible. Told us about no specials, soups, drinks or food. Came back once after food was delivered if you go sit at bar or outside for a great view.

Amazing food, but whats more amazing...late night grub from the incredibly friendly crowd at Empire. In town for the film festival and came in two nights in a row because the food was great and the staff was even better!Sunday night we came in 20min before closing and Vince was more than happy to sit down and chat with us while we waited for our food.He was so incredibly friendly and laid back, he made our night!!! We will be back every time we visit Breck! Thanks Empire!!!

First used Empire Burger and O2 Lounge below (separate review) to shake a wicked hangover that was compounded by the altitude. The burger was so good (buffalo patty, med rare) that we ended up coming back multiple times during our trip. We even came back at night for drinks. Great staff, great food, and great idea having burgers available to the late nighters in Breckenridge. Tried both the standard burger and the buffalo (Leaner and very good) My brother got the popular green chile burger and loved it. Dipping Sauces We Tried During Visits: Mango Chutney-Staff Fav Very Good Sriracha Mayo-Can you go wrong here? BBQ Ranch-Ditto Creamy Horseradish-Little Prime Ribby for me Jalapeño Ranch-SOLID...spicy though Great Job guys...we will be rockin the Empire T-Shirt back in Cali proudly.

I would not go back. Ever. I would tell you not to go also! Both burgers were so ordinary and service was just horrible. We got two: a cheeseburger and a mushroom swiss. The meat itself was bland, there was barely any cheese on either. The mushroom swiss barely had any mushrooms and they were bland too. They all come with mayo, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and mustard unless you ask for something off. Not sure why I'm opposed to it but I like when you get the little pile of condiments and you can do it as you like. And there was way too much mayo on it - it's not a Whopper! The fries were alright, and while I like the idea that you can pick from multiple sauces they really don't need 20 different options. And having that many options how can they not have a simple aioli?! The "roasted garlic mayo" wasn't even close. The service was horrible. It was 1:30 on a sunny early March sunday - not busy for lunch and not busy with apres-skiers. Our waitress really didn't care at all about actually being helpful. It's the worst when you feel like you're putting them out when you place an order. And when we both said we just wanted water she seemed like she cared about us even less. After we got our food she never came back to check on us until she brought the bill. I'm comparing this place to Larkburger and Parkburger and in that context it fails miserably. There's no reason Empire Burger can't be in the same league but it just isn't. Using the league analogy it's like comparing Major League baseball to junior high softball - not even close. If you want a burger go anywhere else in Breck other than here.

A girlfriend from college who now lives in Denver got very excited when I told her I was going to spend a week in Breckenridge. This excitement was all due to Empire Burger. She claimed that the green chile burger was the best burger she had ever tasted. She did qualify her bold statement with the fact she had just finished a 100-mile bike race before dining at Empire Burger. While I would say that Empire Burger does turn out a good green chile burger, I wouldn't say that it's the best I've ever tasted. It's a great post-skiing option for the people who flock to the area in the winter. They have an extensive burger menu and the zucchini chips were fried to perfection and the shakes were thick, creamy and flavorful. I recommend the banana flavor.

TERRIBLE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Went there three years ago and it was amazing. Went there this past Feb and it had to be the worst burger and chili fries I have ever had!! Burger was the size of a silver dollar and chili was sooooo salty that we threw it away. The fries were soooo salty as well. what a dissapointment. Tried emailing them but the email got returned back to me.Will never go back there again.

  • Jonathan K.

Everything about this place was just fine. The burgers were decent, my green chile burger was definitely not anything special. The meat was very sub-par for the price of the burger, and the burger just didn't have enough flavor. Even the "imaginative" sauces turned out to not taste so good. The starters were decent, and we had some reasonably good wings. Service was fine, and the prices were about what you would expect in the middle of a ski town.

The reputation of Empire precedes it in this town- I've never had a bad experience here and visit several times each trip to Breck. The name should tell you that they are a burger place- eat the burgers! Each option is great, with lots of ways to customize your experience. Try the green chile burger, and dabble into the world of sauces they have to complement your fries. Friendly service, laid back atmosphere, great view of the slopes. Perfect way to wind down a day in the mountains.

Great burgers! Unique chips and tasty salsa. Excellent service. I highly recommend giving Empire Burger a try!

    (5)

Darn good burgers, yummy dipping sauces galore and a decent kids' menu. No gluten-free buns or other options, but burgers can be ordered sans bun. Try the curry ketchup and the fried mushrooms! Delish!

One of the best burger place I've been to! Hits the spot especially after a day on the slopes. Gets very crowded though.

  • Dan M.

Burger is ok. There was a dead fly in my bland salad. I told the sever and she said, "Oh. Sorry. Can I get you another one?" She said it as if a dead fly in the salad is not such an abnormal occurrence. I told her I'd pass. Gross.

    (2)
  • Elizabeth T.

Don't come here for the burgers. Don't get me wrong, they're pretty decent, but the draw of the place is the fries and their long, long list of dipping sauces. The unique combinations and flavors make eating fries so much fun! I tried to sample as many as I could, but even with a group of 13 people, there was more flavors for want! Mexican martinis make for a tasty and potent palate cleanser!

The hostess disappeared after pointing us to a table outside. We began moving the table over a bit since we had a large party and the table was quite close to another table with a large party. A male, I'm assuming management, rushed out of the restaurant scolding us and said, "Do not move my table!" He was quite upset and it put us in a really uncomfortable position. We sat at another table instead, and watched as another group of people seated at our original table moved it to their liking without being scolded... Later, when I went to use the restroom, I heard the same manager and the female behind the bar bragging about how well the business was doing. It was quite unprofessional and I felt like the service from him could have been much better. Our waiter was great. I was not impressed with the food or sauce, but my family seemed to enjoyed it.

    (2)
  • Sarah E.

Yes! An affordable place to eat apres ski! The burgers were outstanding. The hand-cut fries are perfect for community table food. The sauce selection makes it all the more fun. I had a bacon cheeseburger w/ a buffalo patty and it was EXACTLY what I needed after hurling myself down a mountain all day with a board bound to my feet. Despite my party of six on a Saturday night, the wait wasn't that long, and the bartender was friendly and accommodating (not to mention HOT) until our table was ready. I'll definitely go back the next time I'm in Breckenridge.

  • Jordan W.

Great service, great food, great atmosphere and a pretty decent craft beer selection. Go for the buffalo burger!!

    (4)
  • Ken C.

Pretty good burgers! Colorado seems to have a lot of buffalo so I went with a buffalo burger. It's 2 bucks extra if you want buffalo or 1 buck extra if you want a turkey patty instead of the standard beef. This place is located in a little shopping plaza full of little shops that are only opened during the day. At night it looks very empty as only the handful of restaurants were still open. The atmosphere is great for drinking with friends and watching the game and the waitresses are all nice to look at.

  • Chapovez F.

A very good post ski dinner option in Breck. The Burgers were huge, delicious, and there were plenty of options to choose from. The fries are great, and plenty of dipping sauces to go with. Chocolate shake...check! Service was great, even though it was a packed Saturday night. WTF? Why does nobody take AMEX in this town?

Found this place on yelp and the reviews were spot on. Place was pretty full, but my wife and I decided to sit at the bar and service was quick and excellent. Best bison burger I have ever had! This place was delicious on every facet and priced right. Do yourself the favor and check them out if you are in Breck.

As a Breck local, I love this place! When I'm feeling lazy and have a craving for the BEST burger in Summit County, I just walk next door to Empire. Their burgers are legendary but their fries are epic. They are hand cut and perfectly fried. I love all the creative dipping sauces you can get, my personal favorite is the wasabi mayo and the mango chutney is a super close second. If your in Breck for the weekend or just passing through, check out Empire, its got something for everyone, even the vegetarians!

    (5)
  • David K.

Burgers: tasty but really greasy. Sides: kind of expensive. Drinks: limited selection given the size of the bar. Service: so-so. 18% "gratuity" added to the post-tax amount for a party of four (plus one toddler)? Unacceptable.

First time diners at Empire today. Had heard good things about Empire and was not disappointed. Service was excellent and we had a four year old with us. Arrived at 1200 noon and got a table right away, but when we left the place was packed. Onion rings were as good as any we have had.....definitely a must get instead of the french fries. Chili cheese dog excellent. Empire is worth the stop.

Some friends and I visited Empire Burger for the first time last week. We were pleasantly surprised. It's a pretty small restaurant so you probably would want to bring a very large group here. There were 4 of us and we only waited for about 15 mins. I ordered the guacamole bacon burger with onion rings and it was delish! Very generous too. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat and the prices are really reasonable for a resort town (about $8-9 for a burger). I would recommend this is you are looking for something casual, inexpensive, and yummy :)

Good burger spot. Go for the fries with the chutney mango sauce and you'll go home a happier person.

Horrible service, small portions, rude staff, and below average food equals one and done. Do not waste your time or money. Multiple locals recommend us not to go, we should have taken their advice. Lesson learned. Only if there was an option to give no stars

  • Dallas T.

Decent burgers and fries. Build your own margarita... Limited beer selection.

    (3)
  • Brian B.

Yet another burger joint. Empire has good burgers, not great, what sets them apart from the other burger joints is the selection of different burgers (I had the green chili bison burger) and their fries and myriad of sauces. The fries are excellent, the best I have had in a long time, and the 20+ dipping sauces to choose from. We had the "Mexican Catchup" which is a "layered sauce, jalapeno catchup topped with a tomatillo salsa", it was VERY tasty, but could have been a little spicier. I'd love to see Turkey burgers added to the menu, but that's just me (no beef for me).

Stopped in for a burger and a beer, real nice laid back place. Good atmosphere. sat down on the large bar area and we ordered a couple of burgers and fries, onion rings and a PBR s in a can. can't beat that!! walked out well under 40.00 for two. Burger were really good, tasty, nice topping, fries were excellent probably stay away from the onion rings not the best. Best part of the place - great prices for great food!! Can't go wrong coming here. you want fancy stay away, you want a good cheap burger come on in!!

I love a great burger - and a place where my non-beef-eating hubby can also get something he'll enjoy! (In this case - a great bison burger!) We just had some great burgers - with all the fixings - and a full order of fries (the fry orders are huge!)... The type of dipping sauce we ordered was the "mexican ketchup" - and it was terrific. (I never thought of tomatillo sauce for fries - but it's great and zippy!) We'll be back!

  • John S.

Food was really good. Definitely go for the bison burger. The dipping sauce for the fries was really good too.

  • Justin W.

I stopped at this fine dining burger establishment after a long 13 hour drive back home. And I was really impressed by the amount of options they had as far as burgers and sauces go. I kicked back and talked to some of the locals about my upcoming ride the next day and got some tips on where to go. The place could have been a little bigger, but I guess that's the feel they were going for with the mountain town feel.

Just doesn't get any better!! The bartender is one of the best around. Cold beer and hot burgers...heaven!!

It was fine. The burgers were decent, fries with sauce were very good, service was meh....and I was generally underwhelmed. It was very busy with a casual Breck crowd but simply nothing memorable. I'd go just about anywhere in town before I went back to Empire Burger.

I have come here several times and never fail to be blown away by how delicious the burgers are, as well as the phenomenal onion rings. The reason I am not giving 5 stars is because I have found the service to be lacking each time I've been here. Sure, I understand this is the mountains and everyone is on a slightly "looser" time zone but I think they could stand to improve a bit on promptness and friendliness. However, if you are looking for a delicious burger, you need look no further. The meat is just so darn good it's almost a shame to put any toppings on it. From what I understand, they use local sources, which is awesome. I also love that they provide dipping sauces with your french fries & onion rings - my favorites are Wasabi Mayo and Sweet Mango Chutney. They're known for their margaritas but I haven't been terribly impressed by those. The 3 reasons to come here, in my opinion- and ranked in order of priority are: Burgers, Onion Rings, & Dipping Sauces. All of the burgers I've tried are delicious but my favorite is the Double Empire Burger.

It's a burger joint, and a good one at that. We relaxed and enjoyed the football game. I had the Kona burger with pineapple and firecracker sauce. It was great. Burger preference can be a personal things. I like the thinner juicy patties of empire burger while my boyfriend likes a burger that's more about the meat. He had the western. It looked good but thought the sauces and cheese were distorting of the hamburger itself. I understood that. We shared some onion rings and loved the green curry and wasabi mayo. Come here for a casual burger with good service.

The service was decent and quick, but nothing spectacular. The food on the other hand was very good and priced well. My husband had a buffalo burger while I had a chicken sandwich...neither of which were over-cooked as most places tend to allow. If you feel like a good burger in a relaxed atmosphere where you won't get raked over the coals on price, this is your place!

We went and had lunch here (around 2:30pm) after skiing on a Saturday and it was pretty busy. I would imagine that during peak hours, it would be pretty busy.

I had the boca and my man had the turkey burger. It was so good we came back a second time during our four day stay, this time with eight of our friends. The fries are made from whole potatoes and the sauces are pretty good, though everyone we tried was creamy. The mango chutney is their most popular and rightly so. One piece of advice--if you sit on the patio in the summer, be prepared to run inside when the thunderstorm rolls in. This place fills up fast at lunch and you might be stuck standing inside holding your burger basket.
