After reading the other reviews which made the happy hour experience seem like the best in boulder... I was sorely disappointed. My girlfriends and I went out friday night and found a small table in the corner. The waitress came over and told us that on special was a dirty martini, well i didn't need any arm twisting, and ordered away. (little joking about how we almost liked our dirty martini's "slutty") it took forever to get our drinks, almost 15 min, and the drink presentation in theory was fun, but in practice actually got 1/5 of my drink spilled on the table (boo to waste good martini's!) and because it wasn't shook just before it was served, you didn't get any of those ice slivers in it i love so much. But minus that it was a great dirty martini. I was starving, so i ordered off of the HH menu, which like others have said is a great deal.... well good deal if the food is actually good. I ordered the papas bravas, you sure get a lot of food for the price, but they were bland, and needed to be smothered in ketchup, pepper (both of which i had to get up and get myself) and salt. Our group expanded, and I ordered another drink, same disappointment with the ice, but less spillage. The vibe inside was definitely an older crowd, busy, but not that exciting, service was slow, and food was nothing crave able. Then we got our bill, turns out the "special" martinis were not on special at all but 10 bucks! now if it was later in the night i would have paid for it, but the fact that it was happy hour, and our waitress had misled us into believing that we would be getting a deal, i was a little upset. we explained the position we were in, she apologized, but did nothing. We then had to have one of the girls go and speak with a manager, who fixed our problem. I don't think i'd return for the food, service, or atmosphere, there are way better places on pearl.

The Corner Bar is great place to come for some appetizers, whether you want to see some of the game on the TV, or relax and people watch on the patio. The menu, offering everything from small starters and fabulous entrees to large plates to share with friends, changes slightly all the time, but some family favorites are the clam chowder, the speck salad with asparagus, and the hamburgers. This is not your average pub fare, with lots of inventive starters to dazzle your palate. The bar makes excellent martinis too, by the by. [03-18-08 note: Watch out for the bartender with the short black bob and piercings. I got a martini that was only 2/3 full, when I asked her about it she was incredibly rude, like I was trying to demand an extra half a hamburger. If I was her manager I would have fired her on the spot. She even came to my table after I left the bar to continue arguing about it. Mind you I had been nothing but sweet and rational, you catch more files that way, and all that jazz. The food was extremely sub-par too, and even though it was St. Patrick's Day it wasn't busy, so I dunno what gives. I'm seriously thinking about removing stars.] It seems to be a bit off the beaten path so is frequently not too crowded, though the place is pretty small so it doesn't take many people to fill the place up. Stopped in for a small bite and beverage. I got the mojito. Not just a regular mojito, there was something special about it (I can't remember exactly what but it was on the drink special menu) but I thought it was not that special at all. The $6 organic mixed greens salad, on the other hand, was worth every penny. It has raspberries, pistachios, preserved lemon, and was perfectly coated in balsamic vinaigrette. It's one of those tiny salads that you wish was your meal.

My friends and I wandered into this place after desperately searching up and down Pearl Street for a place that was open for dinner after 9pm on a Sunday. I'll admit that when I first walked in I was a bit skeptical that it would be a great dining experience. However, our server was very pleasant (accommodating the fact that our group grew from the 5 max we had told him to expect to over 10 people) and the fact that was basically took over the entire second floor area (it was great to have that whole section to ourselves). They were also very willing to split up our checks, as we all arrived and ordered at different times. I was also surprised at the relatively solid-looking vegetarian options on the menu. I ended up ordering the Gold Potato Gnocchi, which is listed as an appetizer, but was substantial enough for me to eat as a light dinner. The gnocchi were small, fluffy, and light and dense at the same time--just the way I like them. My friends ordered a bunch of other items, most of which I didn't try, but I did have a few bites of a s'more tart, which was yummy (I kind of wish I'd a whole tart to myself :-)). They also have lots of gluten-free options and a wide selection of beers, wine, and cocktails (I had a cocktail that was delicious--some sort of ginger lemonade combo, but I can't remember the exact name). I would definitely come back here with a big group, especially on a late night when we could again take over the second floor loft area.

The chowder was very good - not too creamy, just right! Lisa, at the bar, gave great service. Salmon sandwich was delicious and they have a great selection of beer. Great atmosphere and aolid music. I love all the hardwood, it givea you that ild world feel. Great place for a beer and a sandwich!

Love the Boulderado and most places in it... With the exception of this one. The first time I went, thought the poor service was a fluke, but I guess it's just the norm. We're usually a pretty patient group and usually get distracted enough by chatting, but the flow of our meal was perpetually interrupted wondering whether or not we had been forgotten about... everything just seemed like it was in exaggerated slow motion. Menus and waters arrived after 15, drinks 20 later, our appetizer 20 minutes after that and another 40 for entrees. It wasn't busy, so I don't know if Qs was rocking and had a monopoly over the kitchen or what, but our 2 hour brunch was a pretty sad affair. The fried apples are delicious though and the Crabcake Benedict was decent flavor-wise, but for $15 (and because it was a Benedict) I was expecting 2, not just one little guy. With so many other consistently awesome brunch places in town (brasserie, salt, snooze, buff, walnut cafe, tangerine even) there's just no reason to waste time here

I came here for happy hour and in the end, our bill showed a savings of around $35. I do have to wonder if the food is just overpriced here so that happy hour prices are more inline with what the food is actually worth. I don't know. Sure the bar is nice, the hotel historic, but the food at The Corner Bar is just regular bar food. The food was ordinary, presentation was tired/rote and it was edible, but I wouldn't come here again even for happy hour. There are much better places to eat in Boulder, by far.

The Boulderado Hotel is a little nugget of Boulder history on 13th Street that has been housing visitors and locals alike since they open on New Year's Day in 1909. The adjoining hotel bar/restaurant carries over the same rustic, nostalgic and classic Rocky Mountain combination of Wild West and Ski Lodge that Colorado has perfected. And as hotel dining goes, Corner Bar attracts local merrymakers in abundance. And for good reason: their happy hour runs from 3-6pm during which a chosen beer of the day runs guests only $3, $6 daily martinis, and 40% off wines and appetizers. When the weather is warm, the outdoor patio seating is bustling and in the winter months its cozy lodge-like interior and intermittent live music can't get cozier. I like the menu, though the selection is not as grandiose as the Boulder Café down the street. A nice lunch will run you around $15/head and the portions aren't mountain man huge, but perfect for my appetite. Servers and patrons alike seem to be pretty friendly, and when I'm in town visiting there's always a good chance my family will stop through for a meal or a drink while down on Pearl.

She's tiny, but how she can eat! My mom wanted to visit the formal restaurant, but our short stay in Boulder allowed us only a lunch at The Corner Bar. And what a lunch! (the tiniest one of the bunch, mom ordered three dishes) The food was delicious, service friendly and, after tasting a sip of mom's margarita with agave nectar, I had to order my own. It's a comfortable lunch spot with an admirable, if small, menu.

We ran into this restaurant while shopping on Pear St., it's connected to the Hotel Bolderado which is a site all its own. The menu wasn't huge but the food was outstanding! They had a very good happy hour price and the best nachos I've EVER had. I can't even describe them...they were just amazing! They also had some of the best clam chowder I've had at any restaurant. When I visit Boulder again I'll make sure to stop here for the Nachos!

Nachos. Really, really, really good nachos. Fresh made chips (not verified, but I'd put my last dollar on it) And although I would prefer ground meat, the shredded pork carnitas was sooo tasty. A corner patio for people watching and enjoying the Boulder weather. Nice service and a daily 3-6 happy hour with a great drink selection and small plates are 40% off-- makes this place perfect for me!

I love the Corner Bar! Great Service. Amazing, creative menu, and the bartender always makes cocktails with a personal touch. My husband and I drop in here for appetizers and drinks when we've had a bad day at work. Last time, I had he salmon sandwich, and it was delicious! Always cheers me up!

Holy f**king s**t!!!! I have never left a yelp altered by service until now. It's like they only hire waitresses with down syndrome. We went on xmas day and let me say this was the only place open... literally. So bravo for them. The gf's fam doesn't know how to cook for shit so I needed something and they provided that something. Thank you Corner Bar. We sit down. We wait. 20 minutes. Waitress brings us water after I stare at them. One is doing nothing by the POS, one is talking to a friend on the landing, another is chatting with a table, another doing God knows what. I waited tables in NYC and we used to get like 10-12 tables each at a similar establishment (burger/pub style bar, full menu) and we would pound them out and make cash money. These girls had like 5 tables each and acted as if one more would be impossible. Finally she swings by after her liaison on the landing and tries to leave after dropping menus... no no sweetie we'll just order drinks now. Smartly I order a wine and cocktail cause clearly it's not gunna be quick, my gf follows suit. 15 minutes later, she comes back with nothing to tell us they were out of one ingredient in the gf's drink. Like where the f**k are the other drinks we've been here 35 minutes? GF is literally like just make the drink without it and bring the now. So about 8 minutes later the drinks come. She tried to leave. Again I laugh as I grab her back and start to order food. Burger blah blah blah fries, lobster roll sweet potato fries. These are at our table within 10 minutes. Burger cooked perfectly, lobster roll is good, she somehow thought we wanted fries with both of them and an extra order of sweet potato fries. Like how stupid do you have to be. I'm sorry but that just makes no sense. Who orders two meals with fries and then more fries. We're both in decent shape so if you're answer was a 300lb man think again. Right into eating our meal we are done with drinks again. I try to get any waitress to help me but they really don't want to. I'm like hi excuse me, they turn and run. I eventually just start fist bumping the air like I'm in middle school and someone who maybe works there comes over like you must need something. I'm like yes please, can I get the same thing I had the first time, a glass of pinot and the drink with the sparkling sake, and she wants a double of the drink she had the first time. Lady leaves. Like right when we are done with the food, someone clears it, I go to the bathroom, come back, the drinks are there. Or should I say two drinks we didn't order are there. Like not even close. It's like a double glass of gin and something else. The GF wisely just asks me to get her a pint glass so she can mix them and call it a day... but WTF happened to my glass of wine. Forget my drink fine, but where is the wine I ordered. So I go to the bar, and I wait. Two people behind are like doing dishes and reorganizing as I stare at them. It's so awkward but I don't wanna blink first. But after 5 minutes of sitting at the bar staring at them I just sit and start watching TV. This is just so bad. "How can I help you?" I could keep going but you get the idea. Flourless choco cake was good.

I have been coming to the Corner Bar for years. The food comes from the same kitchen as Q's the Boulderado's fine dinning restaurant. The quality is great for the price. The lobster roll and grilled asparagus are my favorite. Jen is one my favorite bartenders in Boulder.

The bartender refused to serve us because we were sitting at a table and had to "wait for the waitress", the waitress left glasses of water and didn't come back for 10 minutes, and then after we places very simple drink orders, we waited 15 minutes for our drinks. VERY poor and slow service.

A nice little corner spot in the Boulderado Hotel building. When I was student at CU, this space was occupied by a men's clothing shop. I approve of the change. We sat at the bar. There was a friendly crowd and bustling staff on a cold, wintry Saturday evening. Hot toddies, dark-and-stormys and Irish coffees were being made in rapid succession (I had the latter). My friend K had a bourbon neat, and my friend M got her usual frou-frou drink. Since they also serve dessert, this was a perfect post-dinner place for us to chill out, satisfy our sweet tooths, and catch up on old times. The flourless chocolate cake with blackberries was to die for. The friendly barkeep put up with my questions about each drink she was mixing. (I always wanted to try my hand at it...mixology never fails to fascinate me). I'm a fan.

On a recommendation from Ulla over at BookCliff Vineyards my bf and I wrapped up our day of wine tasting with a stop for a bite to eat. The bar is attached to the Boulderado Hotel and was cozy. There is open seating and we quickly found a table. Happy was still going on and we were able to order apps and drinks at 40% off. Score! I ordered the clam chowder which was delicious. Probably the best one I've had since moving to Colorado. Being an east coast gal I know my chowdas. The soup was so filling I ordered the gnocchi appetizer which again was delicious. I would definitely stop in again.

There is so much history here. Built over 100 years ago there are lots of stories. Rumored to be haunted, make sure to watch for ghosts! Inside the wood and stained glass is awesome. Sitting outside and watching the people is entertaining.

I like this place, yes, but why does the chef refuse to serve ranch dressing? And why does he make the room service customers pay a separate +/- $4 for fries or onion rings when restaurant/bar customers get the fries/rings free WITH their meal? I find the first absurd and arrogant (particularly when you will serve, say, KETCHUP) and the second --- annoying.

We have been going to the Corner Bar for years. It was the "go to" for casual dining in Boulder - consistently good, an tried and true menu, excellent seasonal specials, and a good bar. The restaurant has just gone through a change in management. Some of the old favorites just don't compare anymore. The fish and chips used to be fantastic, and something we would look forward to every week. Now they are meh... Small portion, over cooked, not even in the same league. We'll be looking for a new place to go for fish and chips from now on.

Sadly, they're slipping. And I *LOVE* Corner Bar, so I hope this is temporary. Went in a few weeks ago around three. No more French Onion on the menu, so I ordered clam chowder. The food runner brought it out with a cloth, warning me that it was hot. I had to wait a minute or so to flag down our waitress and get a SPOON, but not that long. Still, the soup was only lukewarm, and the inside of the potatoes were COLD. Waitress was very nice and apologetic, reheated it. The Boy ordered his burger well-done. It came out on the rare. He ate it anyway. I really hope that they straighten out whatever's going on in the kitchen, and soon.

I'm a fan of any place in Boulder that isn't swarming with CU students and this happens to be one of them. I dig the atmosphere when I decide to sit inside.But that is only if it's crappy out otherwise any drink tastes better outside. And yes, the happy hour is fantastic.... What's better that steak fries? Oh yes, steak fries fried in duck fat. If you're gonna do it, do it right.

This is really a gem that I forget about, only to visit and remember how much I love it. Go for happy hour, the appetizer menu is awesome. You really can't go wrong with the coconut shrimp, the sliders, or any of it. Also, they have a beer of the day that is $2 the whole day! Swing by, and definitely hit up the patio when spring comes around!

One of the nicest places to make happy hour in Boulder. The Corner Bar has got a little something for everyone--a TV, a patio, a great, historic location, good food and drinks. It is a bit on the classy side for me, though. I like my places a little more on the dive side, but this is a great place.

The happy hour here is great. All of their drinks, including a decent selection of wines, and a bunch of apps are 40% from 3-6 PM daily. I've gone with a big group many times during that time frame, never with a reservation, and the service is consistently friendly and accommodating. It's pretty low key since it's in the Boulderado Hotel, but the upside to that is you can always get a seat, even on the patio which is perfect for sunny Colorado.

The Corner Bar has great food and good beer. The prices aren't cheap, but they are completely fair for the high quality of the food. I had ***grilled asparagus with polenta, wild mushrooms, and blue cheese ($9)***. It was seriously one of the best tasting dished I have had in a long time. Melt-in-your-mouth, perfect blend of flavors, delicious! The person I ate with had the Salmon and spinach sandwich and gobbled up every last crumb ($10). The ambiance is great too, as is the service. There is also a different beer for $2 each day.

One of our favorite places to hang out and get drinks in Boulder. It's generally quiet enough to hear other people, and the mixed drinks are very good. I'm also addicted to their nachos, and the other food is excellent as well. I'm sad that it's changing chefs, but hopefully they won't change it up too much!

The corner bar is a cool spot and the staff are nice and accommodating but the late night menu is a joke. I'm talking simple stuff here, for example the wings are terrible, the chicken sandwich is a joke as well. Food is basically reheated Sysco food from a bag. Get your shit together in the kitchen, this is not an airport.

The Corner Bar has definitely picked it up since I was last here. I never spent much time here before because it was always: a. Overrun by college kids, b. Food kinda sucked. However, they seemed to have changed all that. I was here on a Friday night and there was nary a collegiate in sight. It's a great space with a nice patio and an upstairs deck with more seating... so lots of space. There's a great happy hr that goes till 6pm, with lots of options... but then the regular menu is also quite reasonable. But, if there's only ONE thing you ever eat off this menu, make sure it's the brussels sprouts. These babies are amazing. I guarantee you that these will be the best sprouts you've ever tasted. If I had to rate this place solely on the brussels sprouts... it'd be 5 stars. They're that good. Coupled with a great staff and a great vibe, it's a good place to host a group of old friends and catch up. Thank you Corner Bar!

We all had hamburgers which were pretty darn good. Had a marg and caramelized Brussels Sprouts off the happy hour menu. Service was good and environment was obviously a bar, where the nicer restaurant in this hotel was just across the way. We were looking for a quick bite to eat before the philharmonic show and this definitely fit the bill. Glad we tried it, everything was good. :)

My man wanted a meal and all they have is sandwiches. This place would have received a 3 star review with just the bar menu. However, if you ask they will bring you the Spruce menu, which is the high end restaurant on the other side of the hotel (Boulderado). We were able to enjoy the casual Corner Bar while having a nice meal instead of just sandwiches. The bar itself does have an awesome moose's head to decorate the place, which lends itself to the hip and mellow atmosphere. It is a nice place to hang and meet with friends. Drinks are solid and if available the patio is good for enjoying the Boulder atmosphere.

We had one of our most memorable and romantic meals here! We both ordered the salmon sandwich, with a side of green salad instead of fries. The grilled salmon and the tomatoes and onions were delicious and even the buns had a buttery flavor. The salad with ranch dressing was the perfect accompaniment. For dessert, i had the flourless chocolate cake with caramel sauce and caramel ice creal. My husband ordered the blueberry buckle with vanilla gelato. After tasting both, we decided the flourless chocolate cake was the superior choice. The service was also excellent and friendly, and the huge moose head overlooking the dining room was a special treat! We will make it a point to eat at The Corner Bar again anytime we are visiting in Boulder, CO.

Tried going here for a mellow happy hour drink and appetizer the other day. Not only is the description of happy hour on their website completely inaccurate, we had to request a menu from the server, who then refused to serve me a drink as my ID is still vertical (after recently turning 21). We decided to take our business elsewhere after speaking with his rude and unaccommodating manager. Don't waste your time on horrendous customer relations. Good food is not that hard to find in boulder.

Time : 20:40hrs Friday September 21st 2012 : After the UYE HH @ St Julien's Hotel, we head down to The Corner Bar for some late Dinner Eats. Thankfully we managed to grab a couple of seats for the rest of us who decide to chill out further on that Friday evening. This Corner Bar is situated inside The Hotel Boulderado. From the Corner Bar Menu, I opt for these following items : * Crabcakes ($12.00) * Mussels ($10.00) If I am not mistaken, our server, his name is Michael. Service was prompt that evening and I received my orders "luke-warm". Since I was slightly "starving", decide NOT to complain and just have my meal. The Mussels was slightly tiny and perhaps it was over-cooked hence the Mussels shrinked much further. The broth that comes with the Mussels was too salty for my taste bud. If I am not mistaken the Mussels are cooked and has the taste of some Garlic, Herbs and Capers. The Mussels Dish comes with Grilled Bread. As for the Crabcakes, it was Pan Seared, and it comes with Black Eye Pea Relish with Charred Tomato Aioli. Both orders DID NOT WOW me as much as I was hoping for. Oh Well.. *SAD FACE* Its more like 2.75 stars for this establishment in my books hence I round it to 3 stars... Left Corner Bar at about 21:20hrs. @143/2012

O dear, I'd hoped to lunch in the tony Q's that is tucked on the opposite side of the hotel lobby. But a starched maitre d'h looked at her watch and pronounced Q' s closed for lunch. I was at the cusp of the hour, so it was understandable. I also wondered if Iwas turned away to give the only other customers - an openly affectionate couple in smart business attire - more privacy during their Nooner, err lunch hour. But no matter. The Corner Bar is serviced by the same kitchen, so the quality is just as good. The atmosphere is like a pioneer bar with a splash of Manhattan. Very chic. I thoroughly enjoyed a long lunch that included wonderful mussels. Hope to return again soon!.

Just took a big turn for the worse. So typical of new ownership situations. Menu went from interesting, well-prepared food at a good price to burgers, other boring fare (chicken breast, salmon sandwich) and a shitty wine list. Oh, and $8 Brussels sprouts and $4 oysters. I love oysters. But $4!? Brasserie Ten Ten is taking up the slack for me.

Coming here for years, after a recent visit it is now off my radar. Went in on a week- end afternoon for a beer and a bite. New space looks good, cleaned up and the moose head is back! I had a craft beer, at most places the same beer is no more then $5 (which is pricy) this beer was $6, really, I understand downtown and hotel prices but that's at least a dollar more then any place around you! Service was ok..They had run out of bloody mix. The whole machine shut down..I am sorry but a barkeep who can not make a bloody mary on the fly is...worthless! The menu looked good but not in the mood for brunch at 2pm, there were other items other then eggs but few and far between. I choose not to eat due to limited items to choose from. Overall the ol' feeling is lost with the recent takeover by the Day Group, no longer feels like the downtown local bar but more like a cookie cutter hotel bar with a sterile feel.

The only time I've actually ever gone to the Corner Bar is during happy hour. And a happy hour indeed it is. This place certainly knows the meaning of drink special. They have a beer of the day every day that is $3 all day long. The regular happy hour goes from 4 -6 I believe and includes tons of $5 small plates and specials on beer and wine. Besides that the interior is kind of hotel bar classy. (It's attached to The Boulderado hotel.) And the patio is one of the bigger in Boulder. The staff is friendly, if a little slow most of the time. But, it's one of my favorite places to enjoy a summertime cocktail in Boulder.

The Corner bar is located in the Hotel Boulderado, a historic downtown building that was built in 1909 and still has the original elevator (complete with a monkey-suit clad elevator operator to take you up and down). I recommend doing this after a few drinks even if you aren't staying in the hotel. I've been to the corner bar three times and have never had a problem getting a table (even during the election). They always have a beer of the day that only costs $3 and the food is reasonably priced and inexpensive. The burgers and sandwiches are good (nothing earth-shattering, but what do you expect for $10). My personal favorite is the roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. The chicken was juicy and tender and the mash potatoes full of butter (the dish is huge - especially for being only $14). Our waitress was impressed when I managed to finish the entire thing. The staff is friendly, although they can be a bit slow. The atmosphere is simple, comfortable, and a bit stale - bring lights, polished dark wood, and an old west feel. The TVs - a small one over the bar and a larger flat screen above the main entrance - can be difficult to see depending on where your table is, so I don't recommend going here for sports viewing. The best part: one time when I was there, a gentleman sitting on the second floor balcony accidentally dropped his large empty beer bottle onto the first floor where it almost hit a woman who was dining below. She got furious, reprimanded the culprit, and refused to pay for her beer. She said the beer hit her, but it totally missed her. I think she was just embarrassed about the situation. Lame!

However, I ordered a beer and a sandwich and the waitress forgot to put my order in and laughed. The manager did send me a gift card and that was appreciated. The nachos with pork carnitas are SO good, and the drink menu is great. I love the big windows too, this would be a great spot to cozy up on a winter afternoon or night.

Until last night, I had not been to the Corner Bar for many years. In the endless queue (surprisingly reminiscent of musical chairs w/o the music) that is downtown parking in Boulder, Colorado, the space I ended up in was across 13th St. from the Boulderado. Being the energetic adventurer that I am, I decided to just walk across the street to the Boulderado's Corner Bar, after consulting via cell phone with a friend re: a suitable location for an impromptu late dinner. The inside part of the Corner Bar was almost empty, except for a few couples sitting at the bar, and a few tables where the people were just finishing up and getting ready to leave. The outside patio that surrounds the entire Corner Bar was quite full, thus, being the crowd-avoidant person I am, I chose a table inside. The menu here is a smaller version of Q's, the main Boulderado restaurant. It's a decent and surprisingly affordable menu. I ordered a salad and chose an option of salmon fillet atop it for a $4 upcharge. My friend got a half order of their nachos and it was a huge plateful of perfect nachos (in my humble opinion) and that was only $5. The really neat thing was that I looked up and saw the semi-famous (in some circles) Tony Burroughs waving cheerfully in the window. We were invited to join his table on the patio, and did just that after we had finished dinner. It was so much fun conversing (mostly listening & learning) with Tony and friends out on the now-less-crowded patio. Service here is friendly but a bit slow-paced. Some of the servers seemed a bit rude, but ours was friendly enough. All in all it's a decent place and they don't seem to mind if people hang out and socialize comfortably for hours, which is nice!

I first came in here with middling expectations (although I love the ambiance of hotel bars, they're often overpriced with less-than-excellent cuisine) and left pleasantly surprised. Another reviewer mentioned "simple and classic." The Corner Bar is both, in nearly every category. The menu is both reliable and interesting; well-prepared, substantial, and with a nice list of rotating specials (as a regular, I consider this essential). The service is great (a little slow, perhaps, but generally when I'm at a bar I don't mind the extra time), and the venue itself enjoyable--quiet, comfortable, with a breezy patio and an agreeable crowd. All that, and it's The Boulderado. You need to try the place at least once.

This restaurant bar was great, really solidified my love for Boulder. I was only there for a day and I was so satisfied with what I found there. The service was a bit slow (we sat outside) but this helped it have a very relaxed atmosphere and our waitress was really nice when she did come to our table. Fat Tire was only $3 that night and they had other well-priced drink specials. My girlfriend and I split two appetizers in the form of a corn bisque with prosciutto and chanterelles and shrimp and saffron risotto fritters. Both were fresh, full of flavor but not overwhelming in their flavor. Just clean, bright food. My girlfriend ordered a basic steak and potatoes dish and I a green coconut curry with shrimp. Both were simply plated, incredibly fresh, and just the right amount of food. Although the service was a little slow, the food was of extraordinary quality and the price for both the food and drink (especially if you take advantage of the specials) was incredibly reasonable.

I like this place! I love the cozy and historic feel. I agree with Fishbits X.- simple and classic. A great place to go for a non-college atmosphere. I've never experienced the food but they know how to make a martini! Last time I was there, a pretty drunk middle aged man decided it would be entertaining to wear his complimentary bathrobe around all night. While this probably shouldn't have been too amusing, I was feeling my cocktails. Seeing him at Catacombs (in his bathrobe) after was more amusing. Hopefully he was just visiting town- Corner Bar usually attracts more class than that!

Looking around the bar, it seems a lot of other people are having the same frustrations.

Somewhere between a two- and a three-star experience, I'm bumping up to three because the server was very accommodating. We ended up at TCB because it was connected to the Hotel Boulderado, where the person we were meeting up with was staying. And it was a relatively short walk from the first place we were at. We arrived a little after 8; they weren't super busy but it did take a minute for our server to get to us. Once he did, however, we were all well taken care of despite our awkwardly seated group. It appeared as though they had a daily menu of specials: from drink to app to entree to dessert. Beyond that was their regular menu of food and drink items. I ordered a $6 glass of cava, since it seemed like a better deal than the $5 mimosa. Dude held off on a drink since he was driving, but we decided to go with the $9 nachos as our sad (and fatty) dinner. I was pretty disappointed with their (lack of) vegetarian options. I mean -- this is Boulder, right? Basically the choices were the nachos sans mean, sweet potato fries, an $8 cauliflower gratin (more on that later), or a couple of salads. There were probably a few others, but certainly nothing substantial. I considered the cauliflower dish, but after seeing a fellow Yelper's portion size, it would have been laughable at best to try and share between two hungry people. So nachos it was. Pro tip: order the $4 "happy hour size", as they're basically close enough to the $9 size, for less than half the price, and they're nothing but a gut-bomb anyway so save money AND arteries. The nachos use a fried flour chip base. Sounds delicious, until you eat more than three bites and you start feeling your fanny expanding with each crispy crunch. Topped with whole beans, lots of cheese, smashed avocado, and pico, they certainly don't disappoint in the nacho-fulfillment department. A side of salsa also comes with. For an additional couple of bucks you can add meat (beef or pork, I think), but I can hardly see why this would be necessary (vegetarian diet aside). Not enough for ya? Order up the duck fat fries then and call me when you need me to pull out the Automated Emergency Defibrillator... Overall, I was pretty disappointed that this was one of the experiences I had in Boulder. Those who know me know I don't often go up, so if I do I want it to be pretty awesome. I can only speculate that within the immediate vicinity there were probably better options for food, but at least the staff was friendly. And I never did make it to try out that old-timey "lift" [elevator, ya'all].

Maybe I have a weird relationship with all Boulderado-owned establishments or something. I came here last week with some friends after rehearsal down the street. We walked in and were kind of meekly greeted by someone, whom we asked if we could sit upstairs. They kind of didn't answer, scurried off upstairs and I guess bussed something for us. We were seated and stared at menus for a while. I looked at their happy hour specials, which are very good, but they only have an early evening happy hour, but not one later on in the evening. Considering this is a rather quiet, slightly more upscale, (IE not a dive) bar in a college town, you think that maybe they'd have a later night happy hour, especially since we were there between 9:30-11:20 or so. Also since all of their beer prices are around $4.5 per pint, that's just a bit too much to swallow when you're surrounded by cheaper, (though divier) alternatives. I do like that they have a beer of the day, which is $3.00/pint all day. Apparently they also have a $6 martini/cocktail of the day? This wasn't made known to us by the menu nor the waitress. Our sullen waitress takes our order, and brings our drinks quickly. I end up ordering their "small plates" chicken quesadilla which was supposed to have green chiles, two types of cheese, (I would tell you what they were, but they didn't specify), pico and "chipotle crema". It was certainly enough/more than enough for one person, but $7 was kind of a lot. The pico was more like a salad, with long strips of lettuce that prevented it acting like a salsa. I could not find a single discernible green chile in the quesadilla, but I did on my first bite get a lovely crunchy piece of cartilage. The chicken tasted really gamey and unappealing- way too strong a flavor for the apparently very subtle flavor of the hidden green chile. The crema was fine tasting, not exactly chipotle flavored, but was drizzled all over every piece so it wasn't able to be eaten very easily. Water refills were a bit hard to come by, despite the fact that we were not the only table on the second floor. Our server continued to look really put out by our presence in our whole meal, and after we paid, instead of just coming by and saying "is it ok if I take this if you're through?", she walked up, said "yeah, can i take the check so I can go home?" and walked away. I was a server, I do acutely remember the annoying table of squatters who wouldn't go away, but you know what? That's why we're paying you. There are many ways to go about that without being rude about it. In a town with pretty much more bars than anything else, it seems Corner Bar isn't too concerned with the looming competition around the block.

After reading the other reviews which made the happy hour experience seem like the best in boulder... I was sorely disappointed. My girlfriends and I went out friday night and found a small table in the corner. The waitress came over and told us that on special was a dirty martini, well i didn't need any arm twisting, and ordered away. (little joking about how we almost liked our dirty martini's "slutty") it took forever to get our drinks, almost 15 min, and the drink presentation in theory was fun, but in practice actually got 1/5 of my drink spilled on the table (boo to waste good martini's!) and because it wasn't shook just before it was served, you didn't get any of those ice slivers in it i love so much. But minus that it was a great dirty martini. I was starving, so i ordered off of the HH menu, which like others have said is a great deal.... well good deal if the food is actually good. I ordered the papas bravas, you sure get a lot of food for the price, but they were bland, and needed to be smothered in ketchup, pepper (both of which i had to get up and get myself) and salt. Our group expanded, and I ordered another drink, same disappointment with the ice, but less spillage. The vibe inside was definitely an older crowd, busy, but not that exciting, service was slow, and food was nothing crave able. Then we got our bill, turns out the "special" martinis were not on special at all but 10 bucks! now if it was later in the night i would have paid for it, but the fact that it was happy hour, and our waitress had misled us into believing that we would be getting a deal, i was a little upset. we explained the position we were in, she apologized, but did nothing. We then had to have one of the girls go and speak with a manager, who fixed our problem. I don't think i'd return for the food, service, or atmosphere, there are way better places on pearl.

Holy f**king s**t!!!! I have never left a yelp altered by service until now. It's like they only hire waitresses with down syndrome. We went on xmas day and let me say this was the only place open... literally. So bravo for them. The gf's fam doesn't know how to cook for shit so I needed something and they provided that something. Thank you Corner Bar. We sit down. We wait. 20 minutes. Waitress brings us water after I stare at them. One is doing nothing by the POS, one is talking to a friend on the landing, another is chatting with a table, another doing God knows what. I waited tables in NYC and we used to get like 10-12 tables each at a similar establishment (burger/pub style bar, full menu) and we would pound them out and make cash money. These girls had like 5 tables each and acted as if one more would be impossible. Finally she swings by after her liaison on the landing and tries to leave after dropping menus... no no sweetie we'll just order drinks now. Smartly I order a wine and cocktail cause clearly it's not gunna be quick, my gf follows suit. 15 minutes later, she comes back with nothing to tell us they were out of one ingredient in the gf's drink. Like where the f**k are the other drinks we've been here 35 minutes? GF is literally like just make the drink without it and bring the now. So about 8 minutes later the drinks come. She tried to leave. Again I laugh as I grab her back and start to order food. Burger blah blah blah fries, lobster roll sweet potato fries. These are at our table within 10 minutes. Burger cooked perfectly, lobster roll is good, she somehow thought we wanted fries with both of them and an extra order of sweet potato fries. Like how stupid do you have to be. I'm sorry but that just makes no sense. Who orders two meals with fries and then more fries. We're both in decent shape so if you're answer was a 300lb man think again. Right into eating our meal we are done with drinks again. I try to get any waitress to help me but they really don't want to. I'm like hi excuse me, they turn and run. I eventually just start fist bumping the air like I'm in middle school and someone who maybe works there comes over like you must need something. I'm like yes please, can I get the same thing I had the first time, a glass of pinot and the drink with the sparkling sake, and she wants a double of the drink she had the first time. Lady leaves. Like right when we are done with the food, someone clears it, I go to the bathroom, come back, the drinks are there. Or should I say two drinks we didn't order are there. Like not even close. It's like a double glass of gin and something else. The GF wisely just asks me to get her a pint glass so she can mix them and call it a day... but WTF happened to my glass of wine. Forget my drink fine, but where is the wine I ordered. So I go to the bar, and I wait. Two people behind are like doing dishes and reorganizing as I stare at them. It's so awkward but I don't wanna blink first. But after 5 minutes of sitting at the bar staring at them I just sit and start watching TV. This is just so bad. "How can I help you?" I could keep going but you get the idea. Flourless choco cake was good.

I have been coming to the Corner Bar for years. The food comes from the same kitchen as Q's the Boulderado's fine dinning restaurant. The quality is great for the price. The lobster roll and grilled asparagus are my favorite. Jen is one my favorite bartenders in Boulder.

Coming here for years, after a recent visit it is now off my radar. Went in on a week- end afternoon for a beer and a bite. New space looks good, cleaned up and the moose head is back! I had a craft beer, at most places the same beer is no more then $5 (which is pricy) this beer was $6, really, I understand downtown and hotel prices but that's at least a dollar more then any place around you! Service was ok..They had run out of bloody mix. The whole machine shut down..I am sorry but a barkeep who can not make a bloody mary on the fly is...worthless! The menu looked good but not in the mood for brunch at 2pm, there were other items other then eggs but few and far between. I choose not to eat due to limited items to choose from. Overall the ol' feeling is lost with the recent takeover by the Day Group, no longer feels like the downtown local bar but more like a cookie cutter hotel bar with a sterile feel.

I'm talking simple stuff here, for example the wings are terrible, the chicken sandwich is a joke as well. Food is basically reheated Sysco food from a bag. A nice little corner spot in the Boulderado Hotel building. When I was student at CU, this space was occupied by a men's clothing shop. I approve of the change. We sat at the bar. There was a friendly crowd and bustling staff on a cold, wintry Saturday evening. Hot toddies, dark-and-stormys and Irish coffees were being made in rapid succession (I had the latter). My friend K had a bourbon neat, and my friend M got her usual frou-frou drink. Since they also serve dessert, this was a perfect post-dinner place for us to chill out, satisfy our sweet tooths, and catch up on old times. The flourless chocolate cake with blackberries was to die for. The friendly barkeep put up with my questions about each drink she was mixing. (I always wanted to try my hand at it...mixology never fails to fascinate me). I'm a fan.

On a recommendation from Ulla over at BookCliff Vineyards my bf and I wrapped up our day of wine tasting with a stop for a bite to eat. The bar is attached to the Boulderado Hotel and was cozy. There is open seating and we quickly found a table. Happy was still going on and we were able to order apps and drinks at 40% off. Score! I ordered the clam chowder which was delicious. Probably the best one I've had since moving to Colorado. Being an east coast gal I know my chowdas. The soup was so filling I ordered the gnocchi appetizer which again was delicious. I would definitely stop in again.

And why does he make the room service customers pay a separate +/- $4 for fries or onion rings when restaurant/bar customers get the fries/rings free WITH their meal? We have been going to the Corner Bar for years. It was the "go to" for casual dining in Boulder - consistently good, an tried and true menu, excellent seasonal specials, and a good bar. The restaurant has just gone through a change in management. Some of the old favorites just don't compare anymore. The fish and chips used to be fantastic, and something we would look forward to every week. Now they are meh... Small portion, over cooked, not even in the same league. We'll be looking for a new place to go for fish and chips from now on.

Not just a regular mojito, there was something special about it (I can't remember exactly what but it was on the drink special menu) but I thought it was not that special at all. The $6 organic mixed greens salad, on the other hand, was worth every penny. It has raspberries, pistachios, preserved lemon, and was perfectly coated in balsamic vinaigrette. It's one of those tiny salads that you wish was your meal.

My friends and I wandered into this place after desperately searching up and down Pearl Street for a place that was open for dinner after 9pm on a Sunday. I'll admit that when I first walked in I was a bit skeptical that it would be a great dining experience. However, our server was very pleasant (accommodating the fact that our group grew from the 5 max we had told him to expect to over 10 people) and the fact that was basically took over the entire second floor area (it was great to have that whole section to ourselves). They were also very willing to split up our checks, as we all arrived and ordered at different times. I was also surprised at the relatively solid-looking vegetarian options on the menu. I ended up ordering the Gold Potato Gnocchi, which is listed as an appetizer, but was substantial enough for me to eat as a light dinner. The gnocchi were small, fluffy, and light and dense at the same time--just the way I like them. My friends ordered a bunch of other items, most of which I didn't try, but I did have a few bites of a s'more tart, which was yummy (I kind of wish I'd a whole tart to myself :-)). They also have lots of gluten-free options and a wide selection of beers, wine, and cocktails (I had a cocktail that was delicious--some sort of ginger lemonade combo, but I can't remember the exact name). I would definitely come back here with a big group, especially on a late night when we could again take over the second floor loft area.

It wasn't busy, so I don't know if Qs was rocking and had a monopoly over the kitchen or what, but our 2 hour brunch was a pretty sad affair. The fried apples are delicious though and the Crabcake Benedict was decent flavor-wise, but for $15 (and because it was a Benedict) I was expecting 2, not just one little guy. With so many other consistently awesome brunch places in town (brasserie, salt, snooze, buff, walnut cafe, tangerine even) there's just no reason to waste time here

I came here for happy hour and in the end, our bill showed a savings of around $35. I do have to wonder if the food is just overpriced here so that happy hour prices are more inline with what the food is actually worth. I don't know. Sure the bar is nice, the hotel historic, but the food at The Corner Bar is just regular bar food. The food was ordinary, presentation was tired/rote and it was edible, but I wouldn't come here again even for happy hour. There are much better places to eat in Boulder, by far.

Maybe I have a weird relationship with all Boulderado-owned establishments or something. I came here last week with some friends after rehearsal down the street. We walked in and were kind of meekly greeted by someone, whom we asked if we could sit upstairs. They kind of didn't answer, scurried off upstairs and I guess bussed something for us. We were seated and stared at menus for a while. I looked at their happy hour specials, which are very good, but they only have an early evening happy hour, but not one later on in the evening. Considering this is a rather quiet, slightly more upscale, (IE not a dive) bar in a college town, you think that maybe they'd have a later night happy hour, especially since we were there between 9:30-11:20 or so. Also since all of their beer prices are around $4.5 per pint, that's just a bit too much to swallow when you're surrounded by cheaper, (though divier) alternatives. I do like that they have a beer of the day, which is $3.00/pint all day. Apparently they also have a $6 martini/cocktail of the day? This wasn't made known to us by the menu nor the waitress. Our sullen waitress takes our order, and brings our drinks quickly. I end up ordering their "small plates" chicken quesadilla which was supposed to have green chiles, two types of cheese, (I would tell you what they were, but they didn't specify), pico and "chipotle crema". It was certainly enough/more than enough for one person, but $7 was kind of a lot. The pico was more like a salad, with long strips of lettuce that prevented it acting like a salsa. I could not find a single discernible green chile in the quesadilla, but I did on my first bite get a lovely crunchy piece of cartilage. The chicken tasted really gamey and unappealing- way too strong a flavor for the apparently very subtle flavor of the hidden green chile. The crema was fine tasting, not exactly chipotle flavored, but was drizzled all over every piece so it wasn't able to be eaten very easily. Water refills were a bit hard to come by, despite the fact that we were not the only table on the second floor. Our server continued to look really put out by our presence in our whole meal, and after we paid, instead of just coming by and saying "is it ok if I take this if you're through?", she walked up, said "yeah, can i take the check so I can go home?" and walked away. I was a server, I do acutely remember the annoying table of squatters who wouldn't go away, but you know what? That's why we're paying you. There are many ways to go about that without being rude about it. In a town with pretty much more bars than anything else, it seems Corner Bar isn't too concerned with the looming competition around the block.

This place has a nice environment, good beers, and tasty food. The only reason I gave it a 3 stars instead of 4 stars is because I thought it was waaaay overpriced. Last time I was there was 10 pm on a Sunday, and they had the only kitchen in town that was still open. My table shared an order of nachos, gnocchi, and a bowl of clam chowder - all of which were very tasty, but way to expensive for my taste. I might return at some point.

The Boulderado Hotel is a little nugget of Boulder history on 13th Street that has been housing visitors and locals alike since they open on New Year's Day in 1909. The adjoining hotel bar/restaurant carries over the same rustic, nostalgic and classic Rocky Mountain combination of Wild West and Ski Lodge that Colorado has perfected. And as hotel dining goes, Corner Bar attracts local merrymakers in abundance. And for good reason: their happy hour runs from 3-6pm during which a chosen beer of the day runs guests only $3, $6 daily martinis, and 40% off wines and appetizers. When the weather is warm, the outdoor patio seating is bustling and in the winter months its cozy lodge-like interior and intermittent live music can't get cozier. I like the menu, though the selection is not as grandiose as the Boulder Café down the street. A nice lunch will run you around $15/head and the portions aren't mountain man huge, but perfect for my appetite. Servers and patrons alike seem to be pretty friendly, and when I'm in town visiting there's always a good chance my family will stop through for a meal or a drink while down on Pearl.

She's tiny, but how she can eat! My mom wanted to visit the formal restaurant, but our short stay in Boulder allowed us only a lunch at The Corner Bar. And what a lunch! (the tiniest one of the bunch, mom ordered three dishes) The food was delicious, service friendly and, after tasting a sip of mom's margarita with agave nectar, I had to order my own. It's a comfortable lunch spot with an admirable, if small, menu.

We ran into this restaurant while shopping on Pear St., it's connected to the Hotel Bolderado which is a site all its own. The menu wasn't huge but the food was outstanding! They had a very good happy hour price and the best nachos I've EVER had. I can't even describe them...they were just amazing! They also had some of the best clam chowder I've had at any restaurant. When I visit Boulder again I'll make sure to stop here for the Nachos!

Another reviewer mentioned "simple and classic." The Corner Bar is both, in nearly every category. The menu is both reliable and interesting; well-prepared, substantial, and with a nice list of rotating specials (as a regular, I consider this essential). The service is great (a little slow, perhaps, but generally when I'm at a bar I don't mind the extra time), and the venue itself enjoyable--quiet, comfortable, with a breezy patio and an agreeable crowd. All that, and it's The Boulderado. You need to try the place at least once.

The Corner Bar is great place to come for some appetizers, whether you want to see some of the game on the TV, or relax and people watch on the patio. The menu, offering everything from small starters and fabulous entrees to large plates to share with friends, changes slightly all the time, but some family favorites are the clam chowder, the speck salad with asparagus, and the hamburgers. This is not your average pub fare, with lots of inventive starters to dazzle your palate. The bar makes excellent martinis too, by the by. [03-18-08 note: Watch out for the bartender with the short black bob and piercings. I got a martini that was only 2/3 full, when I asked her about it she was incredibly rude, like I was trying to demand an extra half a hamburger. If I was her manager I would have fired her on the spot. She even came to my table after I left the bar to continue arguing about it. Mind you I had been nothing but sweet and rational, you catch more files that way, and all that jazz. The food was extremely sub-par too, and even though it was St. Patrick's Day it wasn't busy, so I dunno what gives. I'm seriously thinking about removing stars.] It seems to be a bit off the beaten path so is frequently not too crowded, though the place is pretty small so it doesn't take many people to fill the place up. Sadly, they're slipping. And I *LOVE* Corner Bar, so I hope this is temporary. Went in a few weeks ago around three. No more French Onion on the menu, so I ordered clam chowder. The food runner brought it out with a cloth, warning me that it was hot. I had to wait a minute or so to flag down our waitress and get a SPOON, but not that long. Still, the soup was only lukewarm, and the inside of the potatoes were COLD. Waitress was very nice and apologetic, reheated it. The Boy ordered his burger well-done. It came out on the rare. He ate it anyway. I really hope that they straighten out whatever's going on in the kitchen, and soon.

Time : 20:40hrs Friday September 21st 2012 : After the UYE HH @ St Julien's Hotel, we head down to The Corner Bar for some late Dinner Eats. Thankfully we managed to grab a couple of seats for the rest of us who decide to chill out further on that Friday evening. This Corner Bar is situated inside The Hotel Boulderado. From the Corner Bar Menu, I opt for these following items : * Crabcakes ($12.00) * Mussels ($10.00) If I am not mistaken, our server, his name is Michael. Service was prompt that evening and I received my orders "luke-warm". Since I was slightly "starving", decide NOT to complain and just have my meal. The Mussels was slightly tiny and perhaps it was over-cooked hence the Mussels shrinked much further. The broth that comes with the Mussels was too salty for my taste bud. If I am not mistaken the Mussels are cooked and has the taste of some Garlic, Herbs and Capers. The Mussels Dish comes with Grilled Bread. As for the Crabcakes, it was Pan Seared, and it comes with Black Eye Pea Relish with Charred Tomato Aioli. Both orders DID NOT WOW me as much as I was hoping for. Oh Well.. *SAD FACE* Its more like 2.75 stars for this establishment in my books hence I round it to 3 stars... Left Corner Bar at about 21:20hrs. @143/2012

O dear, I'd hoped to lunch in the tony Q's that is tucked on the opposite side of the hotel lobby. But a starched maitre d'h looked at her watch and pronounced Q' s closed for lunch. I was at the cusp of the hour, so it was understandable. I also wondered if Iwas turned away to give the only other customers - an openly affectionate couple in smart business attire - more privacy during their Nooner, err lunch hour. But no matter. The Corner Bar is serviced by the same kitchen, so the quality is just as good. The atmosphere is like a pioneer bar with a splash of Manhattan. Very chic. I thoroughly enjoyed a long lunch that included wonderful mussels. Hope to return again soon!.

Just took a big turn for the worse. So typical of new ownership situations. Menu went from interesting, well-prepared food at a good price to burgers, other boring fare (chicken breast, salmon sandwich) and a shitty wine list. Oh, and $8 Brussels sprouts and $4 oysters. I love oysters. But $4!? Brasserie Ten Ten is taking up the slack for me.

Coming here for years, after a recent visit it is now off my radar. Went in on a week- end afternoon for a beer and a bite. New space looks good, cleaned up and the moose head is back! I had a craft beer, at most places the same beer is no more then $5 (which is pricy) this beer was $6, really, I understand downtown and hotel prices but that's at least a dollar more then any place around you! Service was ok..They had run out of bloody mix. The whole machine shut down..I am sorry but a barkeep who can not make a bloody mary on the fly is...worthless! The menu looked good but not in the mood for brunch at 2pm, there were other items other then eggs but few and far between. I choose not to eat due to limited items to choose from. Overall the ol' feeling is lost with the recent takeover by the Day Group, no longer feels like the downtown local bar but more like a cookie cutter hotel bar with a sterile feel.

Holy f**king s**t!!!! I have never left a yelp altered by service until now. It's like they only hire waitresses with down syndrome. We went on xmas day and let me say this was the only place open... literally. So bravo for them. The gf's fam doesn't know how to cook for shit so I needed something and they provided that something. Thank you Corner Bar. We sit down. We wait. 20 minutes. Waitress brings us water after I stare at them. One is doing nothing by the POS, one is talking to a friend on the landing, another is chatting with a table, another doing God knows what. I waited tables in NYC and we used to get like 10-12 tables each at a similar establishment (burger/pub style bar, full menu) and we would pound them out and make cash money. These girls had like 5 tables each and acted as if one more would be impossible. Finally she swings by after her liaison on the landing and tries to leave after dropping menus... no no sweetie we'll just order drinks now. Smartly I order a wine and cocktail cause clearly it's not gunna be quick, my gf follows suit. 15 minutes later, she comes back with nothing to tell us they were out of one ingredient in the gf's drink. Like where the f**k are the other drinks we've been here 35 minutes? GF is literally like just make the drink without it and bring the now. So about 8 minutes later the drinks come. She tried to leave. Again I laugh as I grab her back and start to order food. Burger blah blah blah fries, lobster roll sweet potato fries. These are at our table within 10 minutes. Burger cooked perfectly, lobster roll is good, she somehow thought we wanted fries with both of them and an extra order of sweet potato fries. Like how stupid do you have to be. I'm sorry but that just makes no sense. Who orders two meals with fries and then more fries. We're both in decent shape so if you're answer was a 300lb man think again. Right into eating our meal we are done with drinks again. I try to get any waitress to help me but they really don't want to. I'm like hi excuse me, they turn and run. I eventually just start fist bumping the air like I'm in middle school and someone who maybe works there comes over like you must need something. I'm like yes please, can I get the same thing I had the first time, a glass of pinot and the drink with the sparkling sake, and she wants a double of the drink she had the first time. Lady leaves. Like right when we are done with the food, someone clears it, I go to the bathroom, come back, the drinks are there. Or should I say two drinks we didn't order are there. Like not even close. It's like a double glass of gin and something else. The GF wisely just asks me to get her a pint glass so she can mix them and call it a day... but WTF happened to my glass of wine. Forget my drink fine, but where is the wine I ordered. So I go to the bar, and I wait. Two people behind are like doing dishes and reorganizing as I stare at them. It's so awkward but I don't wanna blink first. But after 5 minutes of sitting at the bar staring at them I just sit and start watching TV. This is just so bad. "How can I help you?" I could keep going but you get the idea. Flourless choco cake was good.

I have been coming to the Corner Bar for years. The food comes from the same kitchen as Q's the Boulderado's fine dinning restaurant. The quality is great for the price. The lobster roll and grilled asparagus are my favorite. Jen is one my favorite bartenders in Boulder.

One of our favorite places to hang out and get drinks in Boulder. It's generally quiet enough to hear other people, and the mixed drinks are very good. I'm also addicted to their nachos, and the other food is excellent as well. I'm sad that it's changing chefs, but hopefully they won't change it up too much!

I'm talking simple stuff here, for example the wings are terrible, the chicken sandwich is a joke as well. Food is basically reheated Sysco food from a bag. Get your shit together in the kitchen, this is not an airport.

Full menu from the restaurant, full bar with friendly, CUTE barkeeps that can suggest anything (it took me awhile to realize that there are alcoholic beverages for when you are sick, like a hot n toddy), and a really simple, classic vibe that is simple, local, convenient, and a perfect place to meet up with people, have a simpler brunch or lunch than Q's, and a great mellow local sit down at a table place for after work beverages!

Somewhere between a two- and a three-star experience, I'm bumping up to three because the server was very accommodating. We ended up at TCB because it was connected to the Hotel Boulderado, where the person we were meeting up with was staying. And it was a relatively short walk from the first place we were at. We arrived a little after 8; they weren't super busy but it did take a minute for our server to get to us. Once he did, however, we were all well taken care of despite our awkwardly seated group. It appeared as though they had a daily menu of specials: from drink to app to entree to dessert. Beyond that was their regular menu of food and drink items. I ordered a $6 glass of cava, since it seemed like a better deal than the $5 mimosa. Dude held off on a drink since he was driving, but we decided to go with the $9 nachos as our sad (and fatty) dinner. I was pretty disappointed with their (lack of) vegetarian options. I mean -- this is Boulder, right? Basically the choices were the nachos sans mean, sweet potato fries, an $8 cauliflower gratin (more on that later), or a couple of salads. There were probably a few others, but certainly nothing substantial. I considered the cauliflower dish, but after seeing a fellow Yelper's portion size, it would have been laughable at best to try and share between two hungry people. So nachos it was. Pro tip: order the $4 "happy hour size", as they're basically close enough to the $9 size, for less than half the price, and they're nothing but a gut-bomb anyway so save money AND arteries. The nachos use a fried flour chip base. Sounds delicious, until you eat more than three bites and you start feeling your fanny expanding with each crispy crunch. Topped with whole beans, lots of cheese, smashed avocado, and pico, they certainly don't disappoint in the nacho-fulfillment department. A side of salsa also comes with. For an additional couple of bucks you can add meat (beef or pork, I think), but I can hardly see why this would be necessary (vegetarian diet aside). Not enough for ya? Order up the duck fat fries then and call me when you need me to pull out the Automated Emergency Defibrillator... Overall, I was pretty disappointed that this was one of the experiences I had in Boulder. Those who know me know I don't often go up, so if I do I want it to be pretty awesome. I can only speculate that within the immediate vicinity there were probably better options for food, but at least the staff was friendly. And I never did make it to try out that old-timey "lift" [elevator, ya'all].

There is so much history here. Built over 100 years ago there are lots of stories. Rumored to be haunted, make sure to watch for ghosts! Inside the wood and stained glass is awesome. Sitting outside and watching the people is entertaining.

The bartender refused to serve us because we were sitting at a table and had to "wait for the waitress", the waitress left glasses of water and didn't come back for 10 minutes, and then after we places very simple drink orders, we waited 15 minutes for our drinks. VERY poor and slow service.

The only time I've actually ever gone to the Corner Bar is during happy hour. And a happy hour indeed it is. This place certainly knows the meaning of drink special. They have a beer of the day every day that is $3 all day long. The regular happy hour goes from 4 -6 I believe and includes tons of $5 small plates and specials on beer and wine. Besides that the interior is kind of hotel bar classy. (It's attached to The Boulderado hotel.) And the patio is one of the bigger in Boulder. The staff is friendly, if a little slow most of the time. But, it's one of my favorite places to enjoy a summertime cocktail in Boulder.

Wow, totally hit or miss with the service. Two days ago, got a drink in just a few minutes. Yesterday, waited forever for anyone to even approach us, and then waited a while for the drinks to come. I thought maybe because we sat outside. Nope. Today, sat inside, hardly anyone else in the place, after practically tackling a waitress, we waited 20 minutes for our drinks to come. The edamame we ordered came before the drinks. A bunch of waitresses (one of which is a bartender, I think) standing around but no one actually making the drinks. I've never seen anything like it. The food (small plates) is good and they seem to come out quickly enough, but it's a major hassle getting anyone to take an order, and then an eternal wait to actually get your drinks delivered. Looking around the bar, it seems a lot of other people are having the same frustrations.

After reading the other reviews which made the happy hour experience seem like the best in boulder... I was sorely disappointed. My girlfriends and I went out friday night and found a small table in the corner. The waitress came over and told us that on special was a dirty martini, well i didn't need any arm twisting, and ordered away. (little joking about how we almost liked our dirty martini's "slutty") it took forever to get our drinks, almost 15 min, and the drink presentation in theory was fun, but in practice actually got 1/5 of my drink spilled on the table (boo to waste good martini's!) and because it wasn't shook just before it was served, you didn't get any of those ice slivers in it i love so much. But minus that it was a great dirty martini. I was starving, so i ordered off of the HH menu, which like others have said is a great deal.... well good deal if the food is actually good. I ordered the papas bravas, you sure get a lot of food for the price, but they were bland, and needed to be smothered in ketchup, pepper (both of which i had to get up and get myself) and salt. Our group expanded, and I ordered another drink, same disappointment with the ice, but less spillage. The vibe inside was definitely an older crowd, busy, but not that exciting, service was slow, and food was nothing crave able. Then we got our bill, turns out the "special" martinis were not on special at all but 10 bucks! now if it was later in the night i would have paid for it, but the fact that it was happy hour, and our waitress had misled us into believing that we would be getting a deal, i was a little upset. we explained the position we were in, she apologized, but did nothing. We then had to have one of the girls go and speak with a manager, who fixed our problem. I don't think i'd return for the food, service, or atmosphere, there are way better places on pearl.

I recommend doing this after a few drinks even if you aren't staying in the hotel. I've been to the corner bar three times and have never had a problem getting a table (even during the election). They always have a beer of the day that only costs $3 and the food is reasonably priced and inexpensive. The burgers and sandwiches are good (nothing earth-shattering, but what do you expect for $10). My personal favorite is the roasted half chicken with mashed potatoes and veggies. The chicken was juicy and tender and the mash potatoes full of butter (the dish is huge - especially for being only $14). Our waitress was impressed when I managed to finish the entire thing. The staff is friendly, although they can be a bit slow. The atmosphere is simple, comfortable, and a bit stale - bring lights, polished dark wood, and an old west feel. The TVs - a small one over the bar and a larger flat screen above the main entrance - can be difficult to see depending on where your table is, so I don't recommend going here for sports viewing. The best part: one time when I was there, a gentleman sitting on the second floor balcony accidentally dropped his large empty beer bottle onto the first floor where it almost hit a woman who was dining below. She got furious, reprimanded the culprit, and refused to pay for her beer. She said the beer hit her, but it totally missed her. I think she was just embarrassed about the situation. Lame!

This is really a gem that I forget about, only to visit and remember how much I love it. Go for happy hour, the appetizer menu is awesome. You really can't go wrong with the coconut shrimp, the sliders, or any of it. Also, they have a beer of the day that is $2 the whole day! Swing by, and definitely hit up the patio when spring comes around!

The staff is friendly, although they can be a bit slow. The atmosphere is simple, comfortable, and a bit stale - bring lights, polished dark wood, and an old west feel. The TVs - a small one over the bar and a larger flat screen above the main entrance - can be difficult to see depending on where your table is, so I don't recommend going here for sports viewing. The best part: one time when I was there, a gentleman sitting on the second floor balcony accidentally dropped his large empty beer bottle onto the first floor where it almost hit a woman who was dining below. She got furious, reprimanded the culprit, and refused to pay for her beer. She said the beer hit her, but it totally missed her. I think she was just embarrassed about the situation. Lame!

This is really a gem that I forget about, only to visit and remember how much I love it. Go for happy hour, the appetizer menu is awesome. You really can't go wrong with the coconut shrimp, the sliders, or any of it. Also, they have a beer of the day that is $2 the whole day! Swing by, and definitely hit up the patio when spring comes around!

Somewhere between a two- and a three-star experience, I'm bumping up to three because the server was very accommodating. We ended up at TCB because it was connected to the Hotel Boulderado, where the person we were meeting up with was staying. And it was a relatively short walk from the first place we were at. We arrived a little after 8; they weren't super busy but it did take a minute for our server to get to us. Once he did, however, we were all well taken care of despite our awkwardly seated group. It appeared as though they had a daily menu of specials: from drink to app to entree to dessert. Beyond that was their regular menu of food and drink items. I ordered a $6 glass of cava, since it seemed like a better deal than the $5 mimosa. Dude held off on a drink since he was driving, but we decided to go with the $9 nachos as our sad (and fatty) dinner. I was pretty disappointed with their (lack of) vegetarian options. I mean -- this is Boulder, right? Basically the choices were the nachos sans mean, sweet potato fries, an $8 cauliflower gratin (more on that later), or a couple of salads. There were probably a few others, but certainly nothing substantial. I considered the cauliflower dish, but after seeing a fellow Yelper's portion size, it would have been laughable at best to try and share between two hungry people. So nachos it was. Pro tip: order the $4 "happy hour size", as they're basically close enough to the $9 size, for less than half the price, and they're nothing but a gut-bomb anyway so save money AND arteries. The nachos use a fried flour chip base. Sounds delicious, until you eat more than three bites and you start feeling your fanny expanding with each crispy crunch. Topped with whole beans, lots of cheese, smashed avocado, and pico, they certainly don't disappoint in the nacho-fulfillment department. A side of salsa also comes with. For an additional couple of bucks you can add meat (beef or pork, I think), but I can hardly see why this would be necessary (vegetarian diet aside). Not enough for ya? Order up the duck fat fries then and call me when you need me to pull out the Automated Emergency Defibrillator... Overall, I was pretty disappointed that this was one of the experiences I had in Boulder. Those who know me know I don't often go up, so if I do I want it to be pretty awesome. I can only speculate that within the immediate vicinity there were probably better options for food, but at least the staff was friendly. And I never did make it to try out that old-timey "lift" [elevator, ya'all].

There is so much history here. Built over 100 years ago there are lots of stories. Rumored to be haunted, make sure to watch for ghosts! Inside the wood and stained glass is awesome. Sitting outside and watching the people is entertaining.

The inside part of the Corner Bar was almost empty, except for a few couples sitting at the bar, and a few tables where the people were just finishing up and getting ready to leave. The outside patio that surrounds the entire Corner Bar was quite full, thus, being the crowd-avoidant person I am, I chose a table inside. The menu here is a smaller version of Q's, the main Boulderado restaurant. It's a decent and surprisingly affordable menu. I ordered a salad and chose an option of salmon fillet atop it for a $4 upcharge. My friend got a half order of their nachos and it was a huge plateful of perfect nachos (in my humble opinion) and that was only $5. The really neat thing was that I looked up and saw the semi-famous (in some circles) Tony Burroughs waving cheerfully in the window. We were invited to join his table on the patio, and did just that after we had finished dinner. It was so much fun conversing (mostly listening & learning) with Tony and friends out on the now-less-crowded patio. Service here is friendly but a bit slow-paced. Some of the servers seemed a bit rude, but ours was friendly enough. All in all it's a decent place and they don't seem to mind if people hang out and socialize comfortably for hours, which is nice!

The only time I've actually ever gone to the Corner Bar is during happy hour. And a happy hour indeed it is. This place certainly knows the meaning of drink special. They have a beer of the day every day that is $3 all day long. The regular happy hour goes from 4 -6 I believe and includes tons of $5 small plates and specials on beer and wine. Besides that the interior is kind of hotel bar classy. (It's attached to The Boulderado hotel.) And the patio is one of the bigger in Boulder. The staff is friendly, if a little slow most of the time. But, it's one of my favorite places to enjoy a summertime cocktail in Boulder.

This restaurant bar was great, really solidified my love for Boulder. I was only there for a day and I was so satisfied with what I found there. The service was a bit slow (we sat outside) but this helped it have a very relaxed atmosphere and our waitress was really nice when she did come to our table. Fat Tire was only $3 that night and they had other well-priced drink specials. My girlfriend and I split two appetizers in the form of a corn bisque with prosciutto and chanterelles and shrimp and saffron risotto fritters. Both were fresh, full of flavor but not overwhelming in their flavor. Just clean, bright food. My girlfriend ordered a basic steak and potatoes dish and I a green coconut curry with shrimp. Both were simply plated, incredibly fresh, and just the right amount of food. Although the service was a little slow, the food was of extraordinary quality and the price for both the food and drink (especially if you take advantage of the specials) was incredibly reasonable.

I like this place! I love the cozy and historic feel. I agree with Fishbits X.- simple and classic. A great place to go for a non-college atmosphere. I've never experienced the food but they know how to make a martini! Last time I was there, a pretty drunk middle aged man decided it would be entertaining to wear his complimentary bathrobe around all night. While this probably shouldn't have been too amusing, I was feeling my cocktails. Seeing him at Catacombs (in his bathrobe) after was more amusing. Hopefully he was just visiting town- Corner Bar usually attracts more class than that!

The Corner Bar has definitely picked it up since I was last here. I never spent much time here before because it was always: a. Overrun by college kids, b. Food kinda sucked. However, they seemed to have changed all that. I was here on a Friday night and there was nary a collegiate in sight. It's a great space with a nice patio and an upstairs deck with more seating... so lots of space. There's a great happy hr that goes till 6pm, with lots of options... but then the regular menu is also quite reasonable. But, if there's only ONE thing you ever eat off this menu, make sure it's the brussels sprouts. These babies are amazing. I guarantee you that these will be the best sprouts you've ever tasted. If I had to rate this place solely on the brussels sprouts... it'd be 5 stars. They're that good. Coupled with a great staff and a great vibe, it's a good place to host a group of old friends and catch up. Thank you Corner Bar!

My man wanted a meal and all they have is sandwiches. This place would have received a 3 star review with just the bar menu. However, if you ask they will bring you the Spruce menu, which is the high end restaurant on the other side of the hotel (Boulderado). We were able to enjoy the casual Corner Bar while having a nice meal instead of just sandwiches. The bar itself does have an awesome moose's head to decorate the place, which lends itself to the hip and mellow atmosphere. It is a nice place to hang and meet with friends. Drinks are solid and if available the patio is good for enjoying the Boulder atmosphere.

We had one of our most memorable and romantic meals here! We both ordered the salmon sandwich, with a side of green salad instead of fries. The grilled salmon and the tomatoes and onions were delicious and even the buns had a buttery flavor. The salad with ranch dressing was the perfect accompaniment. For dessert, i had the flourless chocolate cake with caramel sauce and caramel ice creal. My husband ordered the blueberry buckle with vanilla gelato. After tasting both, we decided the flourless chocolate cake was the superior choice. The service was also excellent and friendly, and the huge moose head overlooking the dining room was a special treat! We will make it a point to eat at The Corner Bar again anytime we are visiting in Boulder, CO.

A nice little corner spot in the Boulderado Hotel building. When I was student at CU, this space was occupied by a men's clothing shop. I approve of the change. We sat at the bar. There was a friendly crowd and bustling staff on a cold, wintry Saturday evening. Hot toddies, dark-and-stormys and Irish coffees were being made in rapid succession (I had the latter). My friend K had a bourbon neat, and my friend M got her usual frou-frou drink. Since they also serve dessert, this was a perfect post-dinner place for us to chill out, satisfy our sweet tooths, and catch up on old times. The flourless chocolate cake with blackberries was to die for. The friendly barkeep put up with my questions about each drink she was mixing. (I always wanted to try my hand at it...mixology never fails to fascinate me). I'm a fan.

On a recommendation from Ulla over at BookCliff Vineyards my bf and I wrapped up our day of wine tasting with a stop for a bite to eat. The bar is attached to the Boulderado Hotel and was cozy. There is open seating and we quickly found a table. Happy was still going on and we were able to order apps and drinks at 40% off. Score! I ordered the clam chowder which was delicious. Probably the best one I've had since moving to Colorado. Being an east coast gal I know my chowdas. The soup was so filling I ordered the gnocchi appetizer which again was delicious. I would definitely stop in again.

I like this place, yes, but why does the chef refuse to serve ranch dressing? And why does he make the room service customers pay a separate +/- $4 for fries or onion rings when restaurant/bar customers get the fries/rings free WITH their meal? We have been going to the Corner Bar for years. It was the "go to" for casual dining in Boulder - consistently good, an tried and true menu, excellent seasonal specials, and a good bar. The restaurant has just gone through a change in management. Some of the old favorites just don't compare anymore. The fish and chips used to be fantastic, and something we would look forward to every week. Now they are meh... Small portion, over cooked, not even in the same league. We'll be looking for a new place to go for fish and chips from now on.

Not just a regular mojito, there was something special about it (I can't remember exactly what but it was on the drink special menu) but I thought it was not that special at all. The $6 organic mixed greens salad, on the other hand, was worth every penny. It has raspberries, pistachios, preserved lemon, and was perfectly coated in balsamic vinaigrette. It's one of those tiny salads that you wish was your meal.

My friends and I wandered into this place after desperately searching up and down Pearl Street for a place that was open for dinner after 9pm on a Sunday. I'll admit that when I first walked in I was a bit skeptical that it would be a great dining experience. However, our server was very pleasant (accommodating the fact that our group grew from the 5 max we had told him to expect to over 10 people) and the fact that was basically took over the entire second floor area (it was great to have that whole section to ourselves). They were also very willing to split up our checks, as we all arrived and ordered at different times. I was also surprised at the relatively solid-looking vegetarian options on the menu. I ended up ordering the Gold Potato Gnocchi, which is listed as an appetizer, but was substantial enough for me to eat as a light dinner. The gnocchi were small, fluffy, and light and dense at the same time--just the way I like them. My friends ordered a bunch of other items, most of which I didn't try, but I did have a few bites of a s'more tart, which was yummy (I kind of wish I'd a whole tart to myself :-)). They also have lots of gluten-free options and a wide selection of beers, wine, and cocktails (I had a cocktail that was delicious--some sort of ginger lemonade combo, but I can't remember the exact name). I would definitely come back here with a big group, especially on a late night when we could again take over the second floor loft area.

Love the Boulderado and most places in it... With the exception of this one. The first time I went, thought the poor service was a fluke, but I guess it's just the norm. We're usually a pretty patient group and usually get distracted enough by chatting, but the flow of our meal was perpetually interrupted wondering whether or not we had been forgotten about... everything just seemed like it was in exaggerated slow motion. Menus and waters arrived after 15, drinks 20 later, our appetizer 20 minutes after that and another 40 for entrees. It wasn't busy, so I don't know if Qs was rocking and had a monopoly over the kitchen or what, but our 2 hour brunch was a pretty sad affair. The fried apples are delicious though and the Crabcake Benedict was decent flavor-wise, but for $15 (and because it was a Benedict) I was expecting 2, not just one little guy. With so many other consistently awesome brunch places in town (brasserie, salt, snooze, buff, walnut cafe, tangerine even) there's just no reason to waste time here

I came here for happy hour and in the end, our bill showed a savings of around $35. I do have to wonder if the food is just overpriced here so that happy hour prices are more inline with what the food is actually worth. I don't know. Sure the bar is nice, the hotel historic, but the food at The Corner Bar is just regular bar food. The food was ordinary, presentation was tired/rote and it was edible, but I wouldn't come here again even for happy hour. There are much better places to eat in Boulder, by far.

The Boulderado Hotel is a little nugget of Boulder history on 13th Street that has been housing visitors and locals alike since they open on New Year's Day in 1909. The adjoining hotel bar/restaurant carries over the same rustic, nostalgic and classic Rocky Mountain combination of Wild West and Ski Lodge that Colorado has perfected. And as hotel dining goes, Corner Bar attracts local merrymakers in abundance. And for good reason: their happy hour runs from 3-6pm during which a chosen beer of the day runs guests only $3, $6 daily martinis, and 40% off wines and appetizers. When the weather is warm, the outdoor patio seating is bustling and in the winter months its cozy lodge-like interior and intermittent live music can't get cozier. I like the menu, though the selection is not as grandiose as the Boulder Café down the street. A nice lunch will run you around $15/head and the portions aren't mountain man huge, but perfect for my appetite. Servers and patrons alike seem to be pretty friendly, and when I'm in town visiting there's always a good chance my family will stop through for a meal or a drink while down on Pearl.

Maybe I have a weird relationship with all Boulderado-owned establishments or something. I came here last week with some friends after rehearsal down the street. We walked in and were kind of meekly greeted by someone, whom we asked if we could sit upstairs. They kind of didn't answer, scurried off upstairs and I guess bussed something for us. We were seated and stared at menus for a while. I looked at their happy hour specials, which are very good, but they only have an early evening happy hour, but not one later on in the evening. Considering this is a rather quiet, slightly more upscale, (IE not a dive) bar in a college town, you think that maybe they'd have a later night happy hour, especially since we were there between 9:30-11:20 or so. Also since all of their beer prices are around $4.5 per pint, that's just a bit too much to swallow when you're surrounded by cheaper, (though divier) alternatives. I do like that they have a beer of the day, which is $3.00/pint all day. Apparently they also have a $6 martini/cocktail of the day? This wasn't made known to us by the menu nor the waitress. Our sullen waitress takes our order, and brings our drinks quickly. I end up ordering their "small plates" chicken quesadilla which was supposed to have green chiles, two types of cheese, (I would tell you what they were, but they didn't specify), pico and "chipotle crema". It was certainly enough/more than enough for one person, but $7 was kind of a lot. The pico was more like a salad, with long strips of lettuce that prevented it acting like a salsa. I could not find a single discernible green chile in the quesadilla, but I did on my first bite get a lovely crunchy piece of cartilage. The chicken tasted really gamey and unappealing- way too strong a flavor for the apparently very subtle flavor of the hidden green chile. The crema was fine tasting, not exactly chipotle flavored, but was drizzled all over every piece so it wasn't able to be eaten very easily. Water refills were a bit hard to come by, despite the fact that we were not the only table on the second floor. Our server continued to look really put out by our presence in our whole meal, and after we paid, instead of just coming by and saying "is it ok if I take this if you're through?", she walked up, said "yeah, can i take the check so I can go home?" and walked away. I was a server, I do acutely remember the annoying table of squatters who wouldn't go away, but you know what? That's why we're paying you. There are many ways to go about that without being rude about it. In a town with pretty much more bars than anything else, it seems Corner Bar isn't too concerned with the looming competition around the block.

I went here a few weeks ago with my friends and had a terrible experience. Grant it, they were experiencing a busy day due to the spring weather. However, I ordered a beer and a sandwich and the waitress forgot to put my order in and laughed. The manager did send me a gift card and that was appreciated. I was just disappointed because I get better service at lower end restaurants.

I like this place a lot. It's cozy, has a good menu and there is a good crowd. Our server was great, he was attentive and friendly. The nachos with pork carnitas are SO good, and the drink menu is great. I love the big windows too, this would be a great spot to cozy up on a winter afternoon or night.

This restaurant bar was great, really solidified my love for Boulder. I was only there for a day and I was so satisfied with what I found there. The service was a bit slow (we sat outside) but this helped it have a very relaxed atmosphere and our waitress was really nice when she did come to our table. Fat Tire was only $3 that night and they had other well-priced drink specials. My girlfriend and I split two appetizers in the form of a corn bisque with prosciutto and chanterelles and shrimp and saffron risotto fritters. Both were fresh, full of flavor but not overwhelming in their flavor. Just clean, bright food. My girlfriend ordered a basic steak and potatoes dish and I a green coconut curry with shrimp. Both were simply plated, incredibly fresh, and just the right amount of food. Although the service was a little slow, the food was of extraordinary quality and the price for both the food and drink (especially if you take advantage of the specials) was incredibly reasonable.

was here for an hour or so, waiting for the doors to open at the fox theater. Had a couple of domestic brews, & belgian ales . I would definitely check this place out if i'm ever in Boulder. Prices were cheap, and there was ample seating. Restrooms were clean too.

I'm a fan of any place in Boulder that isn't swarming with CU students and this happens to be one of them. I dig the atmosphere when I decide to sit inside.But that is only if it's crappy out otherwise any drink tastes better outside. And yes, the happy hour is fantastic.... What's better that steak fries? Oh yes, steak fries fried in duck fat. If you're gonna do it, do it right.

I like this place! I love the cozy and historic feel. I agree with Fishbits X.- simple and classic. A great place to go for a non-college atmosphere. I've never experienced the food but they know how to make a martini! Last time I was there, a pretty drunk middle aged man decided it would be entertaining to wear his complimentary bathrobe around all night. While this probably shouldn't have been too amusing, I was feeling my cocktails. Seeing him at Catacombs (in his bathrobe) after was more amusing. Hopefully he was just visiting town- Corner Bar usually attracts more class than that!

Not at all a fancy place but then at 10:30 p.m. on a Sunday night I'm not looking for fancy. Good variety, good quality, good service, reasonable prices. There were three of us and everyone liked what they had (regardless of the time).

It's so refreshing to have a nice little place that's never too crowded, has consistently awesome food and a killer wine list. The huge patio and Shiara (the bartender) are two of my favorites in town!

Nice outdoor seating, good service, pretty good cocktails, and one damn interesting (and tasty) nachos. Get there during happy hour (3-6pm) and a very generous portion is only $4 - brilliant.

Totally cool setting in a beautiful old hotel. Without question the best nachos i've ever had. Get the chicken, get a half order. Yummy guac and plenty of it.

The Corner Bar has definitely picked it up since I was last here. I never spent much time here before because it was always: a. Overrun by college kids, b. Food kinda sucked. However, they seemed to have changed all that. I was here on a Friday night and there was nary a collegiate in sight. It's a great space with a nice patio and an upstairs deck with more seating... so lots of space. There's a great happy hr that goes till 6pm, with lots of options... but then the regular menu is also quite reasonable. But, if there's only ONE thing you ever eat off this menu, make sure it's the brussels sprouts. These babies are amazing. I guarantee you that these will be the best sprouts you've ever tasted. If I had to rate this place solely on the brussels sprouts... it'd be 5 stars. They're that good. Coupled with a great staff and a great vibe, it's a good place to host a group of old friends and catch up. Thank you Corner Bar!

We all had hamburgers which were pretty darn good. Had a marg and caramelized Brussels Sprouts off the happy hour menu. Service was good and environment was obviously a bar, where the nicer restaurant in this hotel was just across the way. We were looking for a quick bite to eat before the philharmonic show and this definitely fit the bill. Glad we tried it, everything was good. :)

My man wanted a meal and all they have is sandwiches. This place would have received a 3 star review with just the bar menu. However, if you ask they will bring you the Spruce menu, which is the high end restaurant on the other side of the hotel (Boulderado). We were able to enjoy the casual Corner Bar while having a nice meal instead of just sandwiches. The bar itself does have an awesome moose's head to decorate the place, which lends itself to the hip and mellow atmosphere. It is a nice place to hang and meet with friends. Drinks are solid and if available the patio is good for enjoying the Boulder atmosphere.

We had one of our most memorable and romantic meals here! We both ordered the salmon sandwich, with a side of green salad instead of fries. The grilled salmon and the tomatoes and onions were delicious and even the buns had a buttery flavor. The salad with ranch dressing was the perfect accompaniment. For dessert, i had the flourless chocolate cake with caramel sauce and caramel ice creal. My husband ordered the blueberry buckle with vanilla gelato. After tasting both, we decided the flourless chocolate cake was the superior choice. The service was also excellent and friendly, and the huge moose head overlooking the dining room was a special treat! We will make it a point to eat at The Corner Bar again anytime we are visiting in Boulder, CO.

Tried going here for a mellow happy hour drink and appetizer the other day. Not only is the description of happy hour on their website completely inaccurate, we had to request a menu from the server, who then refused to serve me a drink as my ID is still vertical (after recently turning 21). We decided to take our business elsewhere after speaking with his rude and unaccommodating manager. Don't waste your time on horrendous customer relations. Good food is not that hard to find in boulder.

Time : 20:40hrs Friday September 21st 2012 : After the UYE HH @ St Julien's Hotel, we head down to The Corner Bar for some late Dinner Eats. Thankfully we managed to grab a couple of seats for the rest of us who decide to chill out further on that Friday evening. This Corner Bar is situated inside The Hotel Boulderado. From the Corner Bar Menu, I opt for these following items : * Crabcakes ($12.00) * Mussels ($10.00) If I am not mistaken, our server, his name is Michael. Service was prompt that evening and I received my orders "luke-warm". Since I was slightly "starving", decide NOT to complain and just have my meal. The Mussels was slightly tiny and perhaps it was over-cooked hence the Mussels shrinked much further. The broth that comes with the Mussels was too salty for my taste bud. If I am not mistaken the Mussels are cooked and has the taste of some Garlic, Herbs and Capers. The Mussels Dish comes with Grilled Bread. As for the Crabcakes, it was Pan Seared, and it comes with Black Eye Pea Relish with Charred Tomato Aioli. Both orders DID NOT WOW me as much as I was hoping for. Oh Well.. *SAD FACE* Its more like 2.75 stars for this establishment in my books hence I round it to 3 stars... Left Corner Bar at about 21:20hrs. @143/2012

O dear, I'd hoped to lunch in the tony Q's that is tucked on the opposite side of the hotel lobby. But a starched maitre d'h looked at her watch and pronounced Q' s closed for lunch. I was at the cusp of the hour, so it was understandable. I also wondered if Iwas turned away to give the only other customers - an openly affectionate couple in smart business attire - more privacy during their Nooner, err lunch hour. But no matter. The Corner Bar is serviced by the same kitchen, so the quality is just as good. The atmosphere is like a pioneer bar with a splash of Manhattan. Very chic. I thoroughly enjoyed a long lunch that included wonderful mussels. Hope to return again soon!.
