Q: What's the perfect business for an affluent college town where recreational pot use is legal? A: a high end bakery that's open until midnight and delivers They have dangerously good coconut creme mini pie. Fortunately the $6 price tag keeps me from indulging more than occasionally. As others have noted don't expect stellar customer service, but once you're on your sugar high all of that is soon forgotten.

Well, it's been ~4 years since I've reviewed Boulder Baked. They are evolving lately. New soups have been added to the menu, including a very tasty French Onion soup. It is delicious and comes in 3 sizes, and is reasonably priced. The other night when I was there they were giving out generous samples of a new item they'll be offering; eclairs. The eclair was simply heavenly. Soooo good! This is a generous and high quality place to dine. While it is not a fancy place, one can nonetheless get a full meal here, albeit consisting of soup and a sandwich, as well as all sorts of delightful desserts. And the service is best when you are dealing with the owners, although the other people who work there are nice enough. Another thing: perfect wifi connection...always 5 bars. Great place to come for latenight snack and wifi-ing. Sometimes one must listen to various inane conversations, but mostly it is a good place for me to go to alone to do the work I need to get done on the 'net. And such conversations take place all over Boulder and not just here. And the reason the conversations seem inane to me could be because I am cynical and judgmental. :o)

Yum. I love this place. My only complaint is that you order a cookie or box of cookies and must be subjected to ~10 minutes of smelling delicious fresh-baked cookies before you actually get to eat yours! I always bring my out of town guests here, and they have two gluten free cookies which are actually delicious. One is gluten free and vegan, as well. They also have other desserts and sandwiches that look tasty. I haven't tried anything but the cookies, and I'm still very satisfied. Please have more gluten free cookies, though! I fell off the gluten free wagon, but I might hop back on at any moment!

The smell of cookies draws you in. You walk into the store awaiting immediate gratification. Your saliva glands are begging for some of whatever-the-hell-they-have-over-the-counter. You order half a dozen cookies in all flavors and sizes. You wait. And wait. And wait. And they forgot to put in your cookies. So you wait some more. You get the cookies and they give you a dirty look for giving them a dirty look for forgetting about your cookies. Finally you get your cookies and boy, are they are damn amazing. But after having wasted an hour drinking water waiting for the cookies, you can't help but feel like you've just wasted your entire evening.

Nothing special for the price. More flavorless cupcakes and the gluten free ones taste like hummus. I really don't think anyone knows what good food tastes like anymore. I grew up in the south with my Mom, Grandma and Aunts all making everything from scratch and lots of old fashioned cakes included! Bakeries these days are just sad in comparison.

Solid! Much like Insomnia Cookies in NYC/Chicago, fresh-baked cookies doused with a bowl of hot fudge and ice cream is going to work, and although the red velvet cookies were not the best (according to others in my group), anything with chocolate and cookie dough works quite well. $5.25 for a heaping bowl of ice cream and two hot cookies? Yessir!

The cookie sundaes are where it's at!! We had chocolate peanut butter cup and cinnamon sugar chocolate chip cookies with vanilla ice cream... Yum!!!

Boulder Baked is my definition of heaven! I love going there any time I'm out late on Pearl - the many cupcake options (flavors, vegan, gluten free) are a special treat, but so are the made to order cookies! I've even dined there a couple of times on the soups and grilled cheese. Plus Kev always makes my fiancee and I feel welcome! Keep up the great work!

Very slow service. Did not know what they were doing. Too many other good places nearby to wait this long. Can't recommend.

Fresh baked cookies made to order, Oh My! The menu is large and the cookie dough is ready for baking, just place your order and 10 minutes later you'll receive a pizza box full of hot, freshly baked cookies for your tastebud's pleasure. And they're open late for your midnight munchies. The cupcakes here are always fresh too, and they have a variety of flavors, all are fantastic. Free wi-fi and hot drinks too. Perfect study spot with some milk and cookies.

Super delicious cookies, great ice cream. Put 'em together and you have a kickass cookie sundae. White chocolate macadamia nut and triple chocolate chunk were the two cookies I had. They were great. Could be a little bit more food for the money but quality costs money.

Boulder Baked is my go-to comfort food place. Their Veggie Chilli and Cheese Head sandwiches are perfect for any mood, any weather, any occasion. Topped with a delicious cupcake or a warm cookie dessert. Perfect place to drop by for the late night munchies after some drinks in the bars around. Even though they close at midnight, they have served as late as 12.45 to me, which I really appreciated on that cold night! The owners are pretty chilled out too. They also have really good made to order birthday cakes.

Delivery took 2 hours. The cupcakes were really good, but the pot pie was cold when it arrived. After waiting 2 hours for dinner to be delivered, I then had to reheat it :(

You know when it's 11pm and you want nothing but a bunch of delicious cookies delivered to your house? Yeah. Boulder Baked will do that for you. Or how about when you're wandering around Pearl Street and suddenly have a craving for cupcakes, but you need them to be vegan AND gluten-free? Yep. Boulder Baked also has you covered there. Not to mention their other assorted desserts such as: mini pies (they will heat it up and serve a la mode!), brownies, cheesecakes, etc. Thank you, Boulder Baked, for providing top notch desserts no matter what hour of the day!

If this could be a negative I would rate this a negative experience. Mostly negative due to their workforce and lack of service. Food - Are the cookies good? Yes. Are they better then American cookies or any other chain out there? Probably about the same. Other than the catchy name, they probably aren't that unique. Cleanliness - Poor. This place needs to have better clean up crew. There's always trash laying around and I don't even think the employees care if this place needs to be kept clean. That is scary. Service - Extremely poor. I ordered a cookie cake online (firstly, they need to organize their website) for same day service and didn't see the fine print of 48 hours before. I kinda understand their reasoning but 24 hours makes more sense because why do you need 2 days to bake a cake you make to order anyway? They called me and told me they couldn't accommodate same day service but they also informed me that they were not able to deliver to the address I listed. This is a Boulder address people. I google mapped this and it is 15 minutes away. I don't live in town and this was suppose to be a gift. I asked if they added an additional delivery charge because I would pay and I would choose an easier item other than a cookie cake just so I can get same day delivery. The employee said they would call me back and talk to the delivery driver. Upon call back they said they could not make it work. I asked, "you are saying you cannot make this work EVER? even if it's tomorrow or even though this is a Boulder address?" She responded, "yes". I said, "so, you aren't going to charge me?" "yes." I already know this doesn't make sense bc I did the order online so I would think they would charge me immediately. There is a charge on my card. We cannot make this experience any worse. I know this is Boulder baked but I thought it was just the cookies.

3.5 stars. Boulder Baked definitely has the right idea. Deliver warm cookies to drunk college kids. I definitely partook once or twice back in my CU days. Last weekend I decided to check out their new (to me) location. They had a ridiculous amount of cookie flavors- at least 15. They also had 5 or 6 batches of cupcakes in the case. While the cookies came out warm, they weren't as awesome as I remembered. The chocolate tasted more burned than chocolate. It also took 15 minutes to get 4 cookies. So the stars I give are mostly for my memories of their cookies, not so much for the taste.

WOW these guys are FAST! I made an online order for a gift package to be sent locally. It was the first time placing an order online....it's too easy for me to be tempted to stop by whenever I'm walking by their shop so my online order was really out of self-preservation lest I happen to pick up something for myself (COOKIES) in addition to the gift. Anyway, my order was made at 9pm, and going to the CU campus (business), so I didn't think it would be delivered so late in the evening. But nope! I got a call around 10pm and a curious voice asked about my delivery location being closed. Color me surprised! I guess I should have indicated a date specific delivery as I'm curious if the order I placed will still be fresh upon delivery. So yea, if you're craving sweets, give Boulder Baked a try. They've got a yummie red velvet cupcake (regular + gluten free) and a variety of other flavors to satisfy any sweet (and savory) tooth!

We were walking around and wanted to try a bit of Boulder. We ordered two cookies but they gave us a third for free. No idea why. Well, thank you! But no, you can't hit on my boyfriend again. (jk). Cookies are made to order to ensure freshness; great concept but the downside is it also took a long while to get. I personally don't think it was worth the wait but I'm used to my baked goods ready when I get there.

This place is amazing! I'm from Chicago and came across Boulder Baked (great name). Conveniently located to all the Pearl Street restaurants. Skip the expensive dessert at the restaurant, stroll to Boulder Baked (you'll think you worked off the calories), and treat yourself to a much better dessert! Besides the best cookies, the staff is great. Enjoy!

Boulder Baked is so delicious and convenient. They deliver mass amounts of cookies in pizza boxes all night. My personal favorites are Ginger Doodle and Cinnamon Sugar Chocolate Chip, but they are all good because they bake them on the spot so they are hot. Their cookie sundaes are to die for.

Boulder Baked was super delicious! My dad and i were in town touring CU Boulder! We wanted something sweet after dinner and walking around. We found this place on Yelp, honestly was super hard for us to find in the dark, walked around for quite a while. I got a snicker-doodle cupcake it was delish! My dad got some kind of berry crumble, he loved it. Great place!

Had a sweet tooth and wanted a yummy cupcake, Yelp directed me here. I was surprised that there were so few cupcake flavors available on a friday afternoon before a holiday weekend. The cupcakes are a standard cupcake size but seemed kinda small and were not incredibly appealing (frosting was sloppily applied). I picked one out and was told it was $3 with tax. Yikes! I indulge in cupcakes fairly often, but for the tiny, poorly presented cupcake, this is expensive. As for the taste, I got the strawberry shortcake cupcake, it was pretty good...not knock your socks off, but good. Cake was moist and strawberries on top were fresh.

Boulder baked is open late and is a great place for a late-night, post-drink treat. However, since it is not a bar, you can expect hordes of high school kids who don't want to go home, can't get into bars, and don't have the college party hook-up. So be prepared to wait for a table in the 10PM-12AM, pre-curfew high school gaggle. I love the fact that Boulder Baked delivers vegan, but I also hate it. Late at night when I usually just had to suffer through my sugar cravings, and was too lazy to go out, I managed to get to sleep without destroying my diet. Not so now. Boulder baked to the rescue. I absolutely adore their pumpkin spice vegan cupcakes and think the vanilla ones with vanilla frosting are pretty good too. Sometimes (when I'm really lucky) they will have run out and bake them fresh for me, so they arrive still warm. OMG delicious. What's also delicious is one of the delivery boys, who, though he is far too young, has me thinking dirty thoughts about him, me and frosting. Lick lick. Yummy.

OK, I had passed this place dozens of times and for some reason thought it was a dispensary. Anyway, a friend said they have great cupcakes. WOW, they are awesome. I haven't tried the delivery service, but walking in they were super friendly.

An overwhelming variety of fresh baked cookies to choose from! I was here on a Sunday night so there weren't many other customers and I got my 3 cookies within 15 minutes. I went with oatmeal cinnamon chocolate chip, ginger doodle and oatmeal butterscotch chocolate chip. I couldn't really tell the difference between my two oatmeal cookies but they were definitely good. I would describe these cookies as "toll house" like in flavor, appearance, texture and size. This is a good everyday cookie that you wouldn't feel guilty eating.

Indeed a good bakery - Love their fresh baked cookies, cup cakes and sundaes. They serve hot and freshly baked cookies, which is totally worth the wait. They have a good variety of Vegan Cup Cakes - Tasty too! Perfect place for after lunch chat or a Mid-Night Desert craving!

Oh boy, does it smell good to walk into this place. You spend most of your time trying to figure out what smells so good--but it's everything! Everything is what smells so good! And you have to shove everything into your face to get all that deliciousness inside of you, which is pretty much what I did. The location makes me forget that it's there, and parking is a little difficult over in that area, but overall, oh boy!... (go back to first line)

The baked goods at this place are delicious! I must be honest, between my boyfriend and I we tried A LOT of cookies and cupcakes lol. Everything I had was so good so I can't even tell you which to try, whatever strikes your fancy is bound to be good. Everything is also made to order, the cookies were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the cupcakes were soft and melt in your mouth. I read a few reviews that delivery took forever and ordering online can take longer, so I suggest by-passing the online ordering (as convenient as it may seem) and call to place the order. Speaking to someone allowed me to see what they had ready and what their daily specials were. If you order online and they are out of what you want it may cause some unwanted confusion and hassle (as well as more delays). Also, the lady told me that the cupcakes I wanted needed to be made because they sold out, so she warned me that delivery would be at least an hour because it was fresh. I would suggest taking into account the long delivery time when you order, or go ahead and pick up to make it faster. Although I agree it is not the cheapest bakery, they are open 'til 2:00am and do deliver for free. I have never heard of a bakery that offers what Boulder Baked does, so if you have a late night sweet tooth, they'll satisfy the craving.

Okay, Boulder Baked, you win. You win because you managed to make a vegan cupcake good. I went in today in hopes of trying out their chocolate peanut butter cupcake, but none were to be found. Instead, there was a chocolate banana with peanut butter icing, which was all perfectly fine and dandy except that it was labeled 'VEGAN'. Nooooo! See, my experience with vegan desserts has been that they are crumbly and dry and tasteless with a disgusting oily tang and leave you with major dry mouth and feeling as if you just ate some super stale whole grain bread. Dan was like, "Well... this would be a good test to administer to them to see if they really deserve five stars, wouldn't it?" Good point. I ordered that, and he ordered the (non-vegan) S'more. The S'more was on par with Mint Chocolate from the other day. The chocolate peanut butter banana... was awesome. If no one had told me it was vegan I would have never guessed. The icing in particular I would have gladly eaten by the spoonful. Blah blah blah, Boulder Baked rocks and everyone should go etc. etc. And I haven't even tried their cookies yet, even though their cookies are their claim to fame!

Hand down the best dessert place in boulder. Having personally tried almost every cookie and cupcake they have to offer (though they have new seasonal ones everytime I'm in there) I can confidently say they are the best. Cookies are made to order and the cupcakes always taste ravishingly moist and fresh. I consider myself quite a cookie/cupcake snob and have never been disappointed at Boulder Baked! seriously why are you still reading this- just go!

What a fantastic business: Delivering comfort food at all-hours to the middle of campus. Their cookies made some late nights in the lab almost bearable! Today I had the fluffer-nutter cupcake, my childhood "treat" perfected as an adult indulgence. The cupcake was moist with a good crumb, the frosting was flavorful and smooth, and the cake-to-frosting ratio was perfect. None of the flavors overpowered the others and it was not overly sweet- which would be easy to do with a marshmallow and peanut butter combo!

I love gluten. I looove gluten. I know this because my girlfriend is gluten-free and I've eaten a lot of her gluten-free food and it usually tastes like cardboard. This is why I was so surprised with how delicious the gluten-free birthday cake I bought her from Boulder Baked tasted. First off I was surprised at their selection of gluten-free cakes. They had GF carrot cake, GF German chocolate cake, GF red velvet cake and GF chocolate. I opted for the GF chocolate and it was honestly some of the best cake I've ever had, gluten-free or no. I'm singing Boulder Baked's praises to anyone who will listen!

It would be 5 stars if the girl on the phone taking my order wasn't such a little snot who seemed so "over" it. It's happened 3 times in a row. Thankfully when I pick up the goods, the folks there are super nice. I love this place and am a loyal customer. Their vegan/gluten-free spice cupcakes are awesome. The gluten free red velvets are to die for. In the millions of cupcakes that I've eaten here, I've only come across a dry vanilla w/choc icing once. Pretty good odds.

Sometimes in the afternoon my blood sugar falls off the table, and I can no longer deny my body what it craves...sugar in the form of small cakes with frosting on them. That's when I head on over to Boulder Baked. It wasn't my first cupcake experience in Boulder...that belongs to Tee & Cakes. I had to do a multi-visit taste test to each venue in order to figure out where my loyalties were going to lay. I can tell you this: The cakes at Boulder Baked are an order of magnitude better than at Tee & Cakes. Always moist, always flavorful, always satisfying. I have never had a bad cupcake here. The Red Velvet is my personal favorite, but the Chocolate/Chocolate and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup are also strong players. The cookies and brownies are good, but nothing to scream in the streets about. I've only had a single cookie and a single brownie, so take that for what it's worth. On the negative side, sometimes the service is a little baked as well. Don't get me wrong, everyone is always pleasant and happy to help you, but I've seen lines ignored to answer phone in orders, and have walked in to nobody behind the counter and had to wait 5 minutes before being acknowledged. But, I'm usually there in the slower afternoon hours, so there's that. I need to try their lunch items someday.

This used to be one of our favorite places to order from... I mean, cookies and milk delivered to my door at midnight?? Heck yes. Great for study groups and projects. However, our last experience with them was so horrible I will never support them again. I will leave it at our order being 2 hours late, being hung up on by a terrible employee when inquiring about the late cookies, and then being yelled at by the delivery boy (apparently the terrible employee's brother...runs in the family?). We never were rude or unreasonable with these people, we were just hoping to cancel the order since it was so late and we no longer wanted them. When they told us we couldn't cancel, we accepted it. BUT even if we were (rude/unreasonable), it is basic customer service to, oh I don't know, not hang up on the customer and then send the delivery boy to yell at them. A business with good customer service would have either given us a discounted price or given us the cookies for free. This treatment definitely isn't worth the borderline crappy cookies they make. The appeal of Boulder Baked is getting fresh baked cookies delivered to your door... but they definitely aren't anything special. Anyone with any basic baking skills could easily make something much better than what they offer.

This is just a review for delivery. I did not try the product. I'm from out of state, and put in a delivery 2 weeks ahead of the delivery date, today Valentine's day. Yeah, I know Valentine's day, expect the worse. I read previous reviews about slow delivery and thought I'd take my chances. The reviews however, are very true. I used the online delivery order form advertised on the website, but I got a call today saying that next time I should not use that method of ordering, that phoning in is better because the recipient info had not been received, etc. This was a bit upsetting because I found out about Boulder Baked via the website and there was no indication that phoning in was better, ordering online even seemed like the preferred method. I don't think I'll be using their care package services again due to the slow delivery. Just from what I have experienced, the operation just doesn't seem smooth or trustworthy. I'm sure to all those who have tasted the product, it was delicious as you say. For those sending deliveries, I'd prepare at least a 2 hour window.

so so good! love every one of their cupcakes. Best place to go when you are on pearl street and open late into the night. The strawberry shortcake cupcake is always one of my favorites because it has very light frosting paired perfectly with the moist vanilla cake.

Really baked-goods shop betrween Pearl and Walnut St. The address on google is wrong-it has their old address. If you're doing what we did and just googling it on an iphone you'll end up at the old place. We lucked out and stopped RIGHT in front of the store to look at the map again-looked up, and there we were! Right when they opened the doors. Serendipity is a great thing. The fresh-baked cookies ROCK! I got good ol' chocolate chip and they were awesome (both fresh and the next day-still chewy!). DH said the cupcakes were really good too, and he ate them about 5 days later. Imagine how great they must be if you eat them the same day! He got the vegan pumpkin spice and a carrot cake. Plus-they deliver. They deliver fresh-baked cookies. How can that BE?? So awesome. I can't wait to go back for a grilled cheese and a mini-pie. And more cookies of course.

So....my cousin goes to University of Boulder, and I visited her last year and got to experience that which is Boulder Baked-a late night cookie delivery service. My first experience was out of this world. The cookies were delivered fresh out of the oven, and melted in your mouth in each bite. This time around, we ordered them at 11:25 and they said 40-45 minutes. First off, we receive them around 12:40, and they had hardened and were not warm at all; not to mention we are about 2 blocks away. I tried to call them back but maybe this will have more of an impact. I never thought I'd have to microwave Boulder Baked cookies. For one whole year I was awaiting to have these cookies again, and I was left extremely disappointed. =/ The idea is great, but maybe some work on the customer service?

    (2)
  • Dean C.

The food is great, if not a bit pricey, but it's worth it for good sweets. The 3 star rating is because of price and their online ordering system. We ordered online, 45 minutes later they called to say they don't have what we wanted. We said cancel the order, they processed it anyway, took 11 days to get the refund after 3 phone calls.

    (3)
  • Whitney W.

The cookies here are freshly baked and absolutely delicious. The downside? They take WAAAY too long to serve them. Yes, they are made to order, but I felt like we waited longer for our cookie sundae then any of the other customers. Maybe about 45 minutes. It's cool that this place is open late at night, but it was also overcrowded (mostly with teenagers) and it was loud and we were sitting next to a really annoying group of people (surprisingly, not teens). I guess I would come back here if I happened to be out late and just wanted something sweet to eat, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Wow, I am so excited that I finally spent a weekend in Boulder so I could hit up Boulder Baked for some awesome cupcakes. This place has been on my Cupcake Quest list for ages, but their hours are really weird (i.e. open only late in the day), so I struggle to get there. However, this weekend I was in Boulder at night on Friday and Saturday evenings and I am so happy because the cupcakes I tried at Boulder Baked are the best ones I've had in Colorado. They are the perfect size with the perfect (i.e. not insane) amount of frosting! I tried a chocolate peanut butter on Friday night, which was really delicious, and a S'mores on Saturday night. I loved the marshmellow filling in the S'mores cupcake. The only thing it needed was slightly more graham cracker crumbs. The cake was dense but not too dense and it was definitely homemade. And for once the service, in a Boulder establishment, was super friendly. Another benefit of this place is that while the cupcakes are amazing, they are in Boulder and the hours are inconvenient for me which means I can't get them too often. Yes that is a plus for me, I don't want to be able to go to my favorite local cupcake shop too often or I would not fit into my jeans! I can't wait to go back and try some of the fresh baked cookies and more of the cupcakes!!

  • Amanda K.

I found Boulder Baked when a friend had them do her wedding cupcakes. What a treasure! Best cupcakes in Boulder - no contest. I haven't had their cookies yet but they actually BAKE THEM FRESH while you are in the shop. For me, the only downside is the hours. For a non-college kid like me, I'd love it if they opened before 4:00 in the afternoon. But, I'd do just about anything for their red velvet with cream cheese frosting so I'd wait outside the door most anyday no matter what time they opened anyway!

    (5)
  • Jon S.

Literally the best cookies you will ever try. There is nothing better when its late at night and you want some type of unhealthy snack. I always end up getting way more than I should because they are just so amazing! Also, I had grilled cheese there once, and it was great too (though slightly over priced). I think the only complaint anyone could have is that their delivery service is slow sometimes. But I usually just go to the store!

  • Amanda T.

Boulder baked is a great concept warm cookies delivered to your place until 2am. It definitely fills a niche for the Boulder students and stoners and I'm sure that's why they've been in business so long. It ain't the quality. However, the baked goods are more like baked mediocres. We ordered from there a few times and the cookies are about the same quality as Otis Spunkmeyer.

This place smells so good! I've only tried their cookies. I usually get the chocolate chip and white chocolate macadamia nut cookies. It does take awhile but it's definitely worth the wait. Warm, gooey cookies made just for you. They are perfect for those late night study groups.

I will keep this as short and sweet as possible. We were headed to The Kitchen (never ended up eating there) from campus (went to a basketball game) and passed by here. I noticed a display case filled with cupcakes out of the corner of my eye. I told my husband that we would have to stop after dinner on our way back to the car. We ended up stopping there a few minutes later after deciding to go back to Rueben's Burger Bistro for dinner. The best word to describe these cupcakes: cute. Compared to Big Fat Cupcake or Gigi's, these were miniature! That's good, right? As long as it means fewer calories. We bought four cupcakes: Gluten-Free PB & Jelly - gluten-free yellow cake filled with jelly and topped with peanut butter buttercream frosting. I really enjoyed this one. The cupcake was moist. Jelly filling added a bit of fruity sweetness. The frosting was thick, creamy, and nutty. Not too little, not too much. Strawberry Shortcake - my husband ate this one. It was a yellow cake with whipped cream and strawberries. He liked it. Peanut Butter Cup - chocolate cupcake with peanut butter buttercream frosting and a piece of Reese's on top. The cupcake was tasty. Once again, delicious frosting. Banana Nut - the banana cupcake tasted amazing! Light and fluffy. I definitely could taste the banana. I think there was some sort of filling in this one, but I can't remember for sure. It was frosted with vanilla buttercream and garnished with chopped peanuts. As you can see from my individual cupcake reviews, they were amazing! I would love to give them 5 stars. However, I do have one complaint: the price. It's a crime to charge almost $3 (with tax) for such a small treat. I pay $3.50 for a Big Fat Cupcake and they are twice as big. These cupcakes should only cost $2 or maybe $2.25 at most. I guess it's Boulder though. They have to pay their rent somehow.

Finally made it! I have been wanting to try Boulder Baked for a while now. I am a cookie-a-holic, but only fresh made not the bag stuff. Boulder Baked hit the spot. I took my boys there and they loved the choices and inhaled the cookie. I got an assortment of 12 and I ate a bite of each. Staff was patient and service was great. HOWEVER, I went at 5 pm when no one was there. I did hear a phone calls complaining about the delivery, but my experience was perfect. Cookies are wonderful - my fav was the snickerdoodle.

Oh Boulder Baked, you make the girl's night complete, the only way you could be better was if there was a half naked, muscley man with a bottle of wine under the crook of his arm delivering these fabulous cookies. Nine stars for the kona cookie, but 100 million stars for the chocolate oatmeal peanut butter cookie. Mmmmmmmmm. What does this all mean to you: eat here, now. They're open until 2am, what is your excuse?!? Minus one star- the wait for delivery was one hour- it took them an hour and 20 minutes. And we bought 9 cookies- and paid $14 with tip for delivery.

Thank you for being the best cookie shop in Colorado. Where else can you get cookies at 1:30 in the morning? They are moist and warm and make a long night of drinking "sweet". Get a red velvet cupcake and a Cuban sandwich while your there also! Keep up the good work!

Boulder Baked seems to have capitalized on the fact that college students like to drink. And college students who go out to drink inevitably want an after hours snack (I know this not only because it is common knowledge, but also because I am one.) In order to cater to the late night masses, they keep hours that allow for these crowds, and it appears to be working well for them. (In other words, don't expect them to be open before 4pm) In addition to their savvy business approach, they serve darn good food. They have a selection of soups and sandwiches (nothing too fancy, but tasty nonetheless) but their signature is their warm gooey cookies and delicious cupcakes. I don't know how they make those cupcakes, but they taste like the kind of cupcakes that your childhood was made of. Perfect, homey cake batter with an ultra sugary frosting to top if off (are you hungry yet??) Perhaps the best part is that they deliver, and at no charge with no minimum on what you can order. I've used this service myself more times than I care to admit, but it's wonderfully convenient. Just keep in mind that being in Boulder, you are likely not the only person to get hit with the munchies, so be prepared to anticipate your order for a few hours (yes, hours.) Just hunker down and prepare yourself for some simple goodness!

Boulder Baked is one of the few-ish places to find vegan cupcakes and they don't disappoint. We sampled two of the three available vegan cupcakes, the PB&J and chocolate banana and both were tasty. The ratio of frosting to cake was a little too much for my taste, but I just scraped a bit off and all was well. I liked that both the frosting and cake were sweet without going over the top, and that both cupcakes actually tasted like their descriptions. I would definitely come here again for a vegan cupcake fix.

Thank goodness this place or cupcakes aren't in my proximity in SF. Because if Boulder Baked was as convenient to me as it is to my friend Kat C., I would be in SERIOUS, SERIOUS trouble. I mean, they DELIVER to your house until the wee hours of the night, which if you're working on a project or paper late at night is just an invitation for trouble. I occasionally play the "I don't eat gluten" game and for some reason, I decided I wanted a cupcake that was gluten free. "What is the point?!?" you may be asking, I know I know, but after all of the gluttonous eating I had been doing in Colorado, I figured I should try to make some sort of concession to eating better so I decided to try it out. Um, yeeeeeah. The cupcakes were amazing. Phenomenal. Brilliant. Geezus holy moly!!! Their pumpkin(gluten free) is out of this world, and their red velvet (not gluten free) sheer perfection. BF had their carrot and said it was tasty, and I can't imagine any of their selections being poor. It is a no frills sort of place, open late and is all about their cupcakes. Which after coming from a city full of " cupcakeries" was a nice change of scene where it wasn't about charging you so they can pay their rent.

thank you, thank you, thank you for the vegan cupcake options!! I am tempted continually by the cupcake goodness, but bc there is nothing on the menu that is vegan, I don't order from here very often. They have veggie chili.. how hard could it be to make it vegan? Make the cheese optional? Don't add milk? I'd order from here TONS more if this were an option. Anyway, I love the concept of this place, love their presence on social media, love their delivery and late hours... but would love to be able to eat here!

having moved from los angeles, i've been a little sad with the boulder food i've tried thus far. my most recent friday night led me to a hang out near boulder baked and when i got a chance, i snuck off to get some take out for myself and my friends. i didn't try any of the actual food (but my friend tried the chicken noodle soup and liked it!) but i did get a slice of the red velvet cake, which was around $7. i was a little surprised at the price, which is close to the price of some of santa monica's premier cake places that give slices that are twice as heavy. BUT i was verryyy happy with it! it's probably one of the best red velvet cakes i've ever had! and my chicken noodle soup friend kept stealing bites of it! haha so there's at least two people who are impressed. my two friends got the chocolate mousse cupcake (i forget its actual name sorry) and the strawberry shortcake cupcake. i didn't get to ask them how they were but i remember one of them practically inhaling the chocolate mousse cupcake and the other cupcake disappeared when i looked away for a second. so glad this place is near my work place!! or maybe i shouldn't be glad since i'm trying to cut back on my sugar intake... : X

A bakery that DELIVERS milk and cookies until 2 a.m.? Yes, it exists. Stoners (er, considering it's Boulder, everyone) REJOICE! Offering cookies, miniature pies, cupcakes, and other goodies along with an impressive beverage selection, Boulder Baked is the place to go for an after-dinner treat or a late-night excursion. However, with the delivery availability, you never have to leave your hot-boxed dorm room! It's about time. Oh, and the Double Chocolate Peanut Butter Cup cookie is delicious.

Boulder Baked's cakes are out of this world. The past two years, my birthday cake (chocolate with chocolate frosting) has come from Boulder Baked, and it is absolutely delicious and delivered right to my door. You cannot go wrong with the cake here! Thanks for making my birthday extra special, Boulder Baked. :)

I haven't tried cupcakes here, but it sounds like maybe that's what they're coming to be known for. A friend of a friend ordered delivery cookies from them one night and they were so obviusly not homemade. In fact, they were all so perfectly identical and tasted so full of chemicals that I seriously think they were pillsbury cut-and-bake with an extreme mark up. I'd give two or one stars for that experience and have never gone back but it seems like maybe they've turned something around.

This place rocks!!! it made my friend's birthday soooo much more special. Thanks to this place I did not have to travel to Boulder to surprise my friend. Im not vegan, but apparently this place makes vegans drool. Its really great to know that they have flexible business hours and cater to different tastes. I will definitely try and stop by when I go to Boulder and actually taste their yumminess.

We tried the peanut buttercup cupcake and the red velvet. They were both excellent.. Cake was moist and frostings were creamy and not overly sweet. Yum!

This is my second trip but the first one was pre-Yelp for me since I apparently didn't review it. Today I got a German Chocolate which I scarfed down in the car, DELICIOUS. I also picked up a strawberry shortcake which I am assuming will be just as good as my midnight snack tonight. EDIT: I am not a huge fan of the strawberry shortcake. Not as moist and scrumptious as the German chocolate. Last time I got cookies, which as I recall were pretty good (or at least decent) and I tried like 6 varieties. I got a carrot cake and something else (can't recall) but I don't recall them being as spectacular as that chocolate one I just inhaled. So tempted to drive back for another... maybe tomorrow!

The owners of Boulder Baked came up with one hell of a brain child when they opened this shop. A place that makes delicious cookies, stays open at un-godly hours, and delivers them, along with optional milk? You can't ask for a better business venture in a pot smoking, partying college town like Boulder. Not only is the general idea of Boulder Baked completely ingenious, their baked goods like their gourmet cookies, cupcakes and pies are wonderful, and served nice and warm and gooey, the way they should be. They also have different munchies like grilled cheese, but all I've ever tried are the pastries etc. Boulder Baked is a great place to grab a sweet snack at any time of the day or night, and a definite must-visit when in this Colorado town.

  • Brian B.

Excellent idea for a sweet shop in a college town. Bakes to order cookies! The cookies are good, not great, but the service is well below par. The girls behind the counter REALLY didn't want to there the day were visited. Great idea, cookies are nothing special, other than they are freshly baked.

Boulder Baked has some real issues. I've eaten at Boulder Baked a few times, and each time the employees have treated me like shit. They are rude and obviously don't want to be there. They grudgingly take orders with dirty looks on their face. It always makes me feel unwelcome and as if I'm doing something wrong by ordering food from them. I've also ordered delivery from the on numerous occasions. They always say it will take about an hour, but 50% of the time it takes two hours. That's is just flat out ridiculous. 2 hours to deliver some damn cupcakes! And I only live few blocks away!!! (yes I am that lazy at times, but that isn't the issue here) On a lighter note, there's one other thing about them that really pisses me off. They're actually closed on Mondays! I'm a student and Mondays are probably the only day of the week I'm in need of delicious baked goods because of the stress from school. I can't tell you how many times my roommates and I have said, "hey, let's get some cupcakes/cookies! That would taste so good right now," but it's Monday. I would suggest only eating here if you feel like being treated like shit, or if you order from them having to wait absolutely unreasonable lengths of time, or if you want to be severely disappointed when all you want is a nice cupcake but then you realize it's Monday. To sum up, Boulder Baked may serve reasonably good food, but their service is absolutely repugnant. I'm my opinion their service is so bad it's not even worth eating there.

yikes-such a great idea, but not carried through thoughtfully. Order was delivered 3 1/2 hours after placing it on the phone, and then was missing 3 items and had 1 item i never ordered. Was hoping this would be a great delivery option to campus-nope.

They get four stars for delivering until 2am. The cookies are pretty darn good and a decent size. Unsurprisingly, they're located next door to a dispensary -- one stop shopping.

Awesome business idea for a college town. Stopped in after a concert while visiting from sea level and scored grilled cheese, with tomato soup and made-to-order chocolate chip cookies to take back to our hotel room. Best late night snack ever. Fresh baked goodness available until the wee hours wins.

Where did my review for Boulder Baked go?? So confused. Maybe since they changed locations it got lost on Yelp? Anyway... I love this place! My husband and I go here every time we visit Boulder (and ate their cookies a bunch when we lived in Boulder). Highly recommend the PB & chocolate cookie, snickerdoodles (my husband's favorite), and classic chocolate chip (probably my favorite overall). They serve great food & coffee as well. Other great things= They're open super late & they deliver! The owners are fabulous people who are dedicated to running an awesome business. Quintessential Boulder place, and if you're in town, you must check it out.

boulder baked is total crack. as student who loves to bake, i definitely understand what a hardcore pick-me-up a cookie can be at 3am. but when your brain has been liquified by latin conjugations, its sort of a hassle to whip the kitchenaid out. i originally started out ordering mixed batches of their cookies (they even bring the milk!), but then i discovered their cupcakes. oh. my. god. my favourite one is the "strawberry shortcake"- absolutely amazing. this isnt a random grocery store cupcake, either. topped with a stiffened whipped cream that has been filled with a strawberry reduction, this cupcake is amazing. the slices of fresh berries on top totally make it sock-rocking. everyone should buy one. kthxbi.

Wow! Words cannot describe how amazing this place is! I am a night owl and I have a HUGE sweet tooth so there is no other place than Boulder Baked which combines my love for both (its open till 2 am). I have only been there a few times but every time I have been the service and friendly. This place allows me to indulge my inner Cupcake Wars Chef and my top 3 recommendations (thus far) are the Red Velvet, Peanut Butter and Chocolate, and Salted Carmel (easily my favorite). Though all all the cupcakes are moist and delicious, DO NOT get me started on their cookies. Despite the wait, nothing beats fresh-from-the-oven cookies and you can pick-and-choose as you wish so go nuts! From the classic standby, Chocolate Chip, to the more crazy Everything, you cannot go wrong.

Me and my sister were walking around Boulder the other day. I had already known about Tee & Cakes but never got to try it...this trip I did and...was not impressed. After walking around for awhile we headed back to the car and out of the corner of my eye I saw "cupcakes" on a window. I immediately went in and was a little surprised because it was definitely not the prettiest of places but I went for it anways. Man am I glad I did. We got the red velvet cupcake and omg it was AWESOME!! I have been to many cupcakes shops in Colorado and I have to say this was on of the best cupcakes I have had!! Moist and great frosting.... I will definitely be taking another roadtrip to Boulder for another cupcake!!

After trying every cupcake place in Boulder, this one is the best! I had an absolutely delicious vegan pumpkin cupcake that was fabulously moist and not too sweet. The frosting proportions were not too overwhelming in comparison to the size of the cupcake.

Love, Love, LOVE their CUPCAKES!!! Try the Apple Cinnamon cupcake with Cinnamon Cream cheese Icing, moist and delicious! My husband REALLY likes their Smores cupcake, Yummy!!! Cupcakes are $2.50 and are worth the delivery time wait or the hop down near Pearl Street. Their delivery order minimum is $10 with at least $6 in baked goods. And the delivery fee is only $1 They deliver until at least 1 am every night of the week and are perfect for late night chocolate cravings! They even deliver soup and grilled cheese sandwiches too!

  • Jenni J.

It's ok... although a bit pricey for a cookie. $6 for 6 cookies. Ok, doesn't sound like such a bad deal, since you are receiving a fresh baked cookie. But I had high hopes that this warm fresh cookie would knock my socks off, and it just...didn't. I tried 6 different cookies and each of them fell flat, even the chocolate chip was less than average. I do expect more if you are a bakery that specializes in cookies. The cookies the next morning were crisp and crunchy, not soft and chewey. Great business plan, just needs some help on making the perfect cookie.

These are the best cupcakes I have ever had in my life. The cream cheese frosting that comes on most of them is way better than the overly sugary frosting you find on most cupcakes. The variety is top notch and I've loved nearly every one I've tried. The carrot cake is my favorite and my wife adores the german chocolate. We love them so much we had them make 200 cupcakes and 100 mini cupcakes for our wedding.

Went here after staying late at the office cuz I was feeling sorry for myself, dammit. After perusing aisle upon aisle of delicious cupcakes, ranging from cookie dough to lemon drop, I finally made up my mind and chose a strawberry shortcake cupcake. Oddly enough, one of the staff told me there was strawberry filling inside. There wasn't. However, the cupcake was solid enough on its own to convince me to give this place 5 stars. Let's talk about the cupcake. OMG, it was one of the best cupcakes I've ever had, and its simplicity (read: lack of filling) actually added to its greatness. The cake itself was moist and eggy on the inside but had a pleasant crust to bite through and had a similar flavor profile to yellow cake. I was overjoyed to discover that the frosting was whipped cream, as I'm not a huge buttercream fan. It was cool and not too sweet, even refreshing, and perfectly complemented the tart strawberry slices on top. It was the perfect pick-me-up after a grueling day of work. The shop itself is conveniently located right along my walk from work to the Broadway & Walnut bus stop, but I didn't notice t until two weeks in as it's kind of dark and blends into the other shops along the street. Nevertheless, I'm so happy to have found it and will definitely be going there regularly.

Too lazy to bake your own cookies after one too many alcoholic beverages? Then this is the place to come for late-night dessert. I once told a buddy of mine that I was getting "baked" in Boulder and he thought I was smoking weed, but I really meant that I was getting cookies from Boulder Baked. Dogs don't smoke weed, but we do eat cookies.

Everything tastes amazing. I ordered cookies and a grilled cheese. They lost my ticket for the grilled cheese, so I had to wait 5 extra minutes. In turn, they gave me a cupcake, a free cookie, and my money back for the grilled cheese. Amazing food, amazing staff. Go.

  • Autumn B.

YUM! So good if you're having a craving. We always buy individual cookies, but their cupcakes and sandwiches are good as well. The best part? They deliver. If you go in store, it'll take about 10 minutes to get your cookies because they bake them fresh. The wait is 100% worth having fresh, made to order food. Just don't expect to be in and out too quickly.

Feeling a mite peckish, I decided to fall back on the stalwart combination of soup and a sandwich. This supposedly solid foundation seems to have been improperly laid. The french onion soup was very watery. It came with onions that hadn't been cooked all the way down, a smattering of cheese on top, and a package of partially-burnt croutons. When I reached the bottom, I ended up with a pile of ground pepper left over. My roma grilled cheese was markedly better; a generous helping of mozzarella held the tomatoes and pesto in place. However, the overall structural integrity left something to be desired, so I cut my sandwich with with a plastic spoon (no knives to be found) to give myself a chance of picking it up without the insides leaking out. While the cookies were not a part of the visit, I've sampled decent collection of them over previous visits. While there can be the occasional miss, the cookies are the bedrock upon which this establishment was built; hopefully they haven't taken a downturn the way the rest of the food has. While I am certainly not looking for a looking for a quiet café here, I would have hoped that the noise level and atmosphere would be bearable. On this count, I was let down. Two groups were sitting clear across the room from one another, yet they carried on a conversation for almost my entire visit. I could even make out what they were saying in the restroom. I could barely hear my own thoughts, let alone the people around me. The staff, in contrast, were polite and prompt. While this used to be a reliable late night snack joint, the food quality has severely suffered, making me wonder if I should return.

Open until midnight. $1.75 per freshly baked cookie! That's pricy but the novelty of getting a really fresh & hot cookie late @ night makes the price worth it. I tried the ginger doodle (tasted like a soft & chewy ginger snap) & a chocolate macadamia cookie. The ginger snap was glistening because of the sugar. Both cookies were super thin and takes about 10 minutes to make. I also tried the apple pie milkshake with caramel sauce & a kitkat/Nutella milksHake. The apple pie shake had chunks of apple in it & the kit KAt shake had chunks of candy bar. Both were delicious & satisfying for late night drunchies. They offer other stuff like grilled cheese sandwiches & sundaes for those who aren't interested in baked stuff. Other shake flavors were cherry, blueberry and banana.

Any time I make the trek up to Boulder I can't help to stop at boulder baked and grab a cupcake or 2 and some other yummy baked goods. I haven't ever tried the cookies here, but I have tried a variety of the cupcakes (red velvet being my favorite) and the brownies. The cupcakes are so moist they could melt in your mouth. No place in Denver can compete with the products boulder baked puts out. It's a good thing they are a 30min drive away or else I'd probably be 30lbs heavier.

  • Amy E.

The cupcakes here are very good, far better than average. Sweetie and I ordered a dozen different varieties to get the full range of experience, and not a single cupcake disappointed. The cake itself was very moist and flavorful for each variety, with a great texture and not too dense. The frostings were all very good and, with only a couple of exceptions, not too overly sweet. The whipped cream variety of frosting that came on two of the cupcakes (strawberry shortcake and praline) was wonderful- light and airy real whipped cream. Each cupcake is quite little. The cake portion is about 1.5 inches high and 2 inches wide. Not a problem, just an observation. It's very nice to be able to buy a sweet treat that isn't huge. The volume of frosting per cupcake is about equal to the volume of the cake, but, since most frostings are denser and thus heavier, each cake is noticeably top-heavy. If I had my way, the amount of cake would be 50% greater, and the amount of frosting would be 50% less. But I'm probably in the minority since most people seem to love lots and lots of frosting. Odd thing about this place. It is a cupcake, cookie, and lunch item type place, but doesn't open until 4pm. Very odd, but the business model must work for BB. Perhaps the BB name gives some clue as to the target clientele ;-) The cupcakes are quite expensive, given their size. $3 for one, $30 for a dozen. I very much support businesses making a profit. That is kinda the point. But $30 seems steep. (Am I the only one who thinks $30 is still a whole lot of money? That was my entire weekly food budget when I was a graduate student, not that long ago.) Prices aside, do try a cupcake or two. A very nice treat!! May 18, 2015 UPDATE: Tried the 16 cookies and a quart of milk concept. Cute idea. The cookies were okay, but not at all worth the money. There weren't anything special, simply mid-level food industry pre-made dough, scooped and baked when ordered. Spread out very thin. Only the oatmeal had any caramelization at the edges. The rest were soft, thin, and pale. The cookies from any grocery store bakery are at least as good, if not better, and far less expensive.

Bomb ass milkshakes and malts? Check. A plethora of cookies to choose from? Check? Reasonable Prices? Check. Friendly and fast staff? Check. I wish they opened a little earlier. One day around noon I stopped by and they were closed. Not only was I bummed out about it, but after climbing in Boulder canyon all I could think about was a chocolate malt of cupcake shake!

I went in here after the bars on Halloween. There was a very short line which was nice. I got the grilled cheese and two cookies which were all super delicious. Not quiet insomnia cookies (which was my college go to) but still a great place to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Vegan AND gluten free options? Yes please! I lost my wallet and one of the guys working there helped me look? Amazing customer service if you ask me. A bit hard to find parking, but definitely check it out! They weren't my favorite cupcakes in the world, but I can't complain that they offer an option for me! I had a chai pumpkin, carrot cake, and chocolate pb, the first two gluten free. My favorite was the chocolate pb, but the chai spice frosting was delicious as well! I was very surprised by the cost, though. $3.75 per cupcake? I mean, i know vegan is harder to find...but really??

I don't know why I haven't reviewed this place until right now... I WANT TO BUY THAT WHOLE STORE. Every time I walk in, I take ten minutes to decide what I want (#sweettoothproblems).. but whatever I get always ends up being just as delicious as I knew it would be. I have to say though.. my ultimate favorite.. The German Chocolate Cupcake... holy goodness!! But really everything I've ever gotten is heaven on Earth. Also, they're open late and they deliver! You can also make special requests to have them deliver something at a certain time.. I had them deliver a cookie cake to my friend right at midnight on his birthday (a little late notice on my part), BUT they still took the time to make the cake and deliver it on time! Absolutely love this place and if you're in Boulder, you MUST go check it out!

What can I say? Deliciously freshly baked (or half-baked, if you want!) cookies, best grilled cheese on the planet, and somewhat fast-paced service (considering the cookies are freshly baked). Probably the same review as most here. My only words - If you have only ever gotten the cookies from here, you NEED to try that grilled cheese. Seriously. It's delicious. Do it.

This place was delicious! I loved the Snickerdoodle cookie. Tip: If you're going in you're in a rush, place your order ahead of time because all of the cookies are pretty much baked on the spot! Love the art on the walls, and the funny 420 t-shirts!

I ordered a shake over the phone and was there in about 5-7 mins to pick it up. Boulder Baked was packed (as usual on any Saturday night). I paid and waited, because being in the food service industry myself, I know it can be a little bit for all of the staff to all get on the same footing and unfluster themselves in a rush. I waited about 30 mins..still no shake. I told a tall blonde guy that I had been waiting a while, and to his surprise, nobody had told him I was there to begin with. He apologized, gave me a credit for half a shake for next time, AND a free brownie along with my shake. Still love the place, still going back, just need better communication in times of food rush :)

Peculiar bakery. Wacko opening hours. No cookies available for walk-in business. Need to order and then wait 10 minutes. Chocolate chips with and without nuts are very disappointing: flat and gummy. Oatmeal raisin much better. Next time will call in order *only* for the oatmeal raisin and have them ready for pickup at my convenience. There is no place to park nearby or run in from a car. Foot traffic access only. Sorry to be so negative but this place is a dud.

I read somewhere that Boulder is one of the fittest cities in the U.S. I don't know how that's possible given options like Boulder Baked. This is high-food for high-people by high-people. Just because they're comfort food doesn't mean they're fast-food. I don't understand some of the negative reviews here trying to dog them for speed. They make their cookies to order so they're always fresh and chewy - that's their whole thing. And it's GOOD. I've tried three different cookies, a shake, a custom grilled cheese, and one of their tomato soups - all delicious. Speaking of custom, big props to their online ordering system. They really let you specify on there (can even choose the level you want your cookies baked to) and they got a fairly complex order 100% right-on-target for me. A lot of coffeeshops seems to close rather early in this town so I think their stoner-hours could not be more of a welcome option. Let's be real here: you need some fresh-baked cookies delivered to you at 11PM with an artichoke and cheddar grilled cheese and a quart of milk? And these guys are willing to do it and DO IT WELL? God bless 'em and God bless Boulder, CO.

I've been coming here since freshman year of college and It's been a dangerous addiction ever since. Although pricey, I just can't seem to stay away from the cupcakes and cookies here. Once in a blue moon, they'll have some great deals on Groupon and such, but usually no such luck. It'd definitely be 5 star material if they cleaned up their dining area a bit and lowered their prices somehow by a buck or two. The gluten free pumpkin spice cupcake really is an amazing baked good.

Great cupcakes and cakes. We enjoyed a peanut butter cupcake and a slice of carrot cake. Both were excellent. As with many restaurants in Boulder, this one was a bit overpriced, even though the quality was excellent.

This place was recommended by the locals but they failed to tell us the cookies are baked to order, which was a pleasant surprise! We ordered a gluten-free/vegan coconut cookie and loved that it tasted like a normal cookie. I'm glad that it's our last day today since we would probably visit here more than we should.

Pretty good food, nothing special though... They seem to always get my order wrong, unfortunately, even though I always tip the drivers $2 on top of the $3 delivery fee for a $15 order. The prices are good and everything is decent. All the cookies very obviously have the same dough base so when we got a box to celebrate for the holidays after I ate two different flavors they literally tasted like the same salty dough. Boulder Baked will do if you have a sweet or salty craving, and delivery and gluten free options are great. I just wish they paid attention to little details like getting my order right!
