My husband and I had our wedding reception dinner at Grouse Mountain Grill. I have no complaints. The food, beverages, wine, service, entertainment, and scenery were excellent. The staff was attentive to our every need from the moment we began planning our event and the menu. The service is five stars....every time I would leave my chair to greet guests the finest little details were attended to, such as the folding of my napkin to keep the table orderly. I am so pleased with our decision to host an event at Grouse. The recommendation to have Tony G. as our musical entertainment was perfect. The chef and kitchen staff does fabulous work, the pretzel crusted pork chops lived up to their reputation for being delicious and creative, and I only heard compliments on the menu items my guests had chosen. During our three course meal, everything from the bread and butter to the selection of wines (which their staff member Bill helped us select), right down to the chocolate cake in a crepe was a big success! A large number of our guests were children under the age of 6 and they even had an area to kick back and play some games. When the event concluded the staff members pitched in to help us pack up the centerpieces and odds and ends, see us on our way, and Nancy (our event coordinator) even sent us a thank you for the opportunity to serve our family and friends. Thank you Grouse Mountain Grill for making our special day everything we had hoped it would be and your excellent customer service. We would certainly work with Nancy and her staff again, given another special occasion to plan! My husband and I plan to celebrate with an anniversary dinner there annually and we will be anxious for the next opportunity to get out to Beaver Creek to enjoy an excellent meal there. I hope to work my way down the menu as every item appears to be delicious and based on the menu items we have tasted, never disappoints!

Worse. Service. Ever (ok, maybe only the second worst after Annie's in Austin). The food was ok but the miserable service overcame any goodness the food provided. Missed orders. Clumsy service. Etc

Everything about this restaurant was absolutely amazing. From the service, to the cocktails and wine, to the gnocchi and kale salad, to the fresh baked bread and homemade spreads. We almost didn't make it because we were worried about going somewhere we couldn't easily walk to in the snow. However, our hotel informed us of the free shuttle in town, and with the ease of that option, we are so glad we were able to check out this wonderful place. We will definitely be back!

A must do!!! I can't rave enough about this restaurant. We have a one year old and was concerned about eating here being that it's a fine restaurant. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the wonderful hostess staff that made it a point to make my baby happy. They brought books for her to entertain herself. The service was amazing! Our server gave us great recommendations. The food was outstanding!!! I had the bison and my husband had the elk. The meat fell off the bone! Unfortunately we were too full to try desert. Definitely will go back!

This restaurant is exceptional. I have been four times and each time has been consistently jaw dropping. The Chef is in a league of his own in Beaver Creek and the Somm Rob is extremely knowledgeable and enhances the dining experience with excellent wine recommendations. The servers and bar tenders are well trained. I give Grouse Mountain Grille an A plus!

I'm reviewing GMG for an OUTSTANDING Thanksgiving evening meal and atmosphere. I don't know what it's like the rest of the year, but the service and food were just right for an upscale Thanksgiving restaurant dinner. Thick cuts of white turkey; shredded braised dark meat (like slow cooked pork); heaps of seasonal sides; exceptional roasted red kuri squash soup; marvelous crust on the spiced port apple pie. This was our first Thanksgiving away from home cooking in at least a dozen years and it was fantastic. Thank you restaurant manager Kyle, staff, and Tony G on piano. Will return to see if a "regular" dinner at Grouse Mountain Grill is as good as Thanksgiving dinner (I think it will be).

We were lucky to come here when they were having a $39 tasting menu. This allowed us to try very generous portions of an appetizer, main course and dessert. All the food was delicious to the point where I wanted to lick my plate. We tried many dishes off the menu and every bite was perfect! Additionally, the view from the dining room is stunning. I will eat here every time I'm in Beaver Creek.

Phenomenal. That's truly all you need to know. Very pricey, yes, but several people in our party agreed that it was one of the best meals they've ever eaten. Their striped bass was incredible, as were the mushroom agnolotti and the elk. All the steaks were cooked a perfect medium rare, as ordered. The sides and snacks were all great, ones to note are the Parmesan tots, the housemade gnocchi, and the fried egg. Finally, their lobster appetizer that's been on the menu for fifteen years should definitely stay there for another fifteen, because it was just take good. The other appetizer to look at is their gnocchi with goat ragu. The chef really elevated goat to the level of fine dining. All in all, very impressed. Loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed all their appetizers from the Duck Confit tater tots, the pork belly, lobster marscapone, and the pumpkin soup were all excellent, especially the sea bass tartare. The appetizers were so good that the entrees seem to fall a little short and were not as impressive. We had the grilled elk loin, buffalo short ribs, and the potato and goat cheese agnolotti which were just ok. The crispy colorado sea bass however was very good, and my kids enjoyed their beef tenderloin steak.

Incredible wine list. We started with the Brussels sprouts and tater tots. These were Brussels sprouts that even your anti-veggie kid would eat. Our friends ordered the rabbit wrapped in bacon alongside the roasted root vegetables. We took down the bison short rib and elk loin grilled. Bison was tender, lean, moist and delicious. The elk was grilled to a medium rare that was wonderfully tasty. It must have been grass fed elk as it was not overwhelmed with the sage flavor. One of the best places to dine in Beaver Creek/Vail.

My husband and I stumbled on this restaurant through Yelp and thank goodness we did! We tried this restaurant out over the 4th of July weekend and had a great overall experience. The host greeted us and was warm and friendly. We chatted a bit about living in the Loveland/Greeley area, which he remembered as we were walking out of the restaurant after our meal. We were seated on the balcony area and had a terrific view of the mountainside. It was a beautiful, quiet setting. Our waiter was attentive and while a little bit on the quiet side, still delivered. I started out with the mixed greens salad with last year's peaches, goat cheese and a cherry vinaigerette. The flavors were simple but bright and was an overall refreshing salad. My husband, as usual, ordered a better appetizer with the lobster marscapone with fried gyoza discs. There was a lot of lobster in the dish and the flavors were rich yet allowed the lobster flavor to really shine through. We also sampled the housemade breads along with the red pepper coulis, butter and red onion confit. The roasted red pepper coulis went really well with the sourdough potato bread. For the main course, I ordered the gnocchi with vegetables. It was FANTASTIC! The gnocchi was delicate, yet had a full potato flavor. The vegetables were in a light cream sauce with fresh peas, corn and tomatoes. I finished my entree in half the time it took my husband to eat his. He ordered the duck 3 ways and was again not disappointed. The duck sausage was made in-house and went very well with the fried egg with runny yolk that was on top of the whole dish. The duck breast and leg were perfectly cooked, yet moist and tender. The final bit of deliciousness was the duck confit with hashbrowns. We passed on dessert but ordered coffee instead. This is definitely a restaurant to go back to!

We had our wedding catered by this restaurant in the reception hall at the pines lodge. Everything from the passed apps to the buffet, to the wedding cake was outstanding. The staff did an amazing job taking care if our group. The location and view was beautiful. It was a perfect experience. The first night we came into town we are in the restaurant and it was not as good. We returned a chewy piece of fish and it was corrected. It was also a little pricey. That is why we gave 4 stars instead of 5. I would use them again for a catered event but may not have dinner in the restaurant again. The breakfast buffet was also good but still a little pricey.

My husband and I were visiting Beaver Creek in the summer and wanted a really nice dinner with a great view. Grouse Mountain Grill didn't disappoint. We got there early and had a drink at the bar before sitting down to dinner on the patio. The bartender, Alex, was friendly and chatty, which we very much enjoyed. All of our food was great, service was spot on and the views were lovely. We had a great experience. I would definitely recommend Grouse Mountain Grill to my friends and family.

Giving this restaurant three stars, purely based on the service. The food was excellent and the service was timely, but every server seemed robotic with very little personality. I would probably recommend this restaurant to a friend, but I only wish the service was a bit more personable to enhance the customer experience.

OMG! The best food and service without any pretentiousness! A must place to go while in Beaver Creek. Our waitress Rachel was a delight. The wait staff worked together beautifully. I can't wait to return!

Pros: Good food Cons: decor from the early 80's This place has OK food, but it is begging for a remodel. Everyone and everything is tired. The food was good, but nothing really special. The service was OK too, but again, nothing special. I am not sure what they can do as they are inside an old hotel, but the place is really in need of a new menu, new decor, and some touch of modernity. The Beaver Creek resort fee tacked on the end of each bill is a not so special surprise tax that really is off-putting also. Really, you make diners pay part of everyone's homeowners association dues at this place?

We ate here during the "last week" of spring skiing the week of April 14th. The views were wonderful, I can only imagine how beautiful this would be snow all around. There were three of us and we each selected a different dish. As a starter, we shared the pork belly and this was very good. This could have been a meal for me alone! I ordered the pork chops, which were very good. There was too much food for me, but thankfully we had a 14 year with us who gladly took any leftovers. The trout was great, good mix of flavors. The "kid" ordered the duck. It was ok, but again this is from a 14 year old. We enjoyed a cab blend wine from a local Denver winery -- we should have ordered the entire bottle.

Fabulous new American cuisine with creativity and beautiful presentation. We had great lamb and striped bass. Nice appetizers of sashimi style bass and black ink shrimp pasta. Best ice cream we've ever had with peach crisp and chocolate flour less cake. Top notch in all respects.

We had an excellent meal at Grouse Mountain. Highlights were beef tartare (best I've ever had), pretzel crusted pork chop, lobster with marscapone and the Apple bread pudding with salted caramel and gingerbread ice cream. The lamb was ok, but not on par with these other dishes. Tater tots were good but not up to the level I expected based on other Yelpers comments. Cheeseburger on the kids menu was good and quite large. I appreciated a solid wines by the glass list. And our server was both friendly and well informed on what was best on the menu.

Great food, great service! Tots are awesome even know there is no confit in them. Elk loin was so great! Striped bass was crisp and delish! Pork belly was melt in your mouth. Carrot cake, yes! I had a great fine dinning experience here!

Terrible food, steak was burned, desert tasted like nothing and food was over priced....hated this place, My kids Steak came burned and The Check was outrageous!! Don't spend your money here!!

The third star is for the service, starters, and cocktails! Our server was great, very knowledgeable about the menu and checked on us frequently. I also had one of the best old-fashioned's I had in a while here(may have been the altitude). However, the entree's were bland and no one in my party really left feeling we'd had an amazing meal. I was so glad I had ordered the lobster mascarpone( great portion size and full of lobster) and goat cheese cheesecake to start because the grouper was forgettable. My husband said the same of his lamb and ate it mainly for fuel for the next day. I will say our friend enjoyed the pretzel covered pork chops; which I think is the restaurant's signature dish. Overall, the food was not bad, just not anything I would return for knowing the price I would pay for it.

  • Colleen H.

This restaurant was really good. Seemed much more "local" than the other restaurants we visited so my assumption is the "local or returning" crowd frequents this restaurant. And, that says alot because there are alot of choices in Beaver Creek. The wine was superb! The meal was really good but pretty much the same choices as the other restaurants in the area. I suggest putting this restaurant on your list for sure!

Awesome experience. In a cool environment, all the people involved in the service, were more than polite. They were extremely kind and helpful in the menu description to select the appropriate meal. Homemade bread was outstanding, and all dishes were great. Would enthusiastically recommend this restaurant.

My wife and I last visited the Grouse Mountain Grill a couple of years ago, and couldn't wait to get back. They did not disappoint!!! They had a prix fixe Spring Tasting Menu with any appetizer, entree and dessert on the menu. I highly recommend the cavatelli (squid ink, chorizo, chiles, crab) - it sounds a bit daring, but was superb. The lobster appetizer was a very close 2nd! Our entrees were the beef tenderloin (my wife loved the potato pave') and the bison short ribs (brined and braised for for 24 hours!). Desserts were wonderful - flourless chocolate cake (you could taste the fresh mint in the mint ice cream!),and the rhubarb (crustless cheesecake, rhubarb sauce, rhubarb bar, candied ginger). A great dining experience!

Thanks to Yelp, my husband and I came here during a recent trip to Beaver Creek and I am so glad we did! We both got the 3-course prix fixe for $45. Let's start with my husband's dinner: Citrus Glazed Lamb Ribs - he loved them. Apparently, they were sweet, with a little kick, without masking the natural lamb flavor of the ribs. The only thing was that they were a little messy, but it's not like he needs to impress anyone anymore. Wagyu Beef New York Steak - This was good, but not as good as he was expecting. I had a small bite and thought it was very tender. Double Chocolate Macadamia Crunch Bar - At this point, my husband was so full he could only have a couple bites. He did say it was amazing though. Now on to my dinner: =) Lobster Mascarpone - absolutely divine. Huge tender chunks of lobster sandwiched between layers of fried gyoza skins. Not a fan of fried food, so I simply took those out, but the lobster is truly amazing. Pretzel Crusted Pork Chops - Now seeing as how it clearly says "pork chops", I shouldn't have been surprised when my plate came out with TWO... but, I still was. They were both huge pieces though and I ended up not being able to finish. The mashed potatoes, although an ordinary concept, were so creamy and delicious. The mustard and balsamic glaze they had went perfectly with the pork chops as well. The only thing is that the pretzel pieces could have been a little smaller. It was hard to cut through the pork chop with huge pieces of pretzel all over it, but it was still wonderful. Warn Rhubarb Crumb Cake - this is comfort food at its finest. I have always loved strawberry rhubarb anything, and so was very excited to see this on the menu. It did not disappoint, and even though I was full from the pork chops already, I scarfed this whole thing down. Service here was also fantastic. Attentive and friendly staff. Overall, a very enjoyable dining experience.

My sister & I visited Grouse Mtn Grill based on the other Yelp reviews. It exceeded our expectations! The restaurant Mgr, Tony McNally, spoke with all the guests and was delightful. The food was pleasing to the eye, perfect portions, and an explosion of flavor. We highly recommend the lamb ribs as the first course. The staff was very attentive, but not overbearing. A pleasant surprise was when the chef came out to speak with us. The whole experience was stress free, delicious, and enjoyable. This is a MUST DO! When in Beaver Creek or Avon. YUMMY!!! Plus as the sun sets, guests get to watch Elk, Deer, & an occasional Bear on the adjacent mountain. SPECTACULAR!!!

Grouse is the vanilla ice cream of nice restaurants in Beaver Creek. Pleasant, dependable, delicious. But a little boring. It isn't as opulent as Splendido, but it is very nice. Nothing over-the-top spectacular, but very nice. We were sat at a good table near the bar and the piano. I did realize that the space was relatively empty and that may have contributed why I felt a lack of energy. We started with the salads and a good bottle of wine. The sommelier decanted without asking. I appreciate that. I had the striped bass which was absolutely delicious. We ended with the flourless chocolate dessert and it was really rich and creamy. Perhaps we went on a slow night but I felt the food and service far overshadowed the dull atmosphere.

We dined here for dinner but it's a bit difficult to find they're located in the Pines resort. The diners are dressed to dine, no apres ski attire here. They do offer a kids menu. We ordered the short rib lettuce wraps, pan seared scallops with oxtail marmalade, and let's no forget their signature famous pretzel crusted pork chops. The pork chops were so good I asked our server to share the recipe and he actually gave me a copy to take home. For desserts we ordered warm brioche donuts and chocolate trio. Our server recommended a good choice of pinot noir from France. I would return just to eat their pork chops it's that good!

More accurately, I would give it a 5+! My in-laws have been dining here for years, and for the past four years that I have been joining them in Beaver Creek we have eaten here often. Everything here is delicious. No one in our group has ever had an even mediocre menu item. My mother-in-law SWEARS by the pretzel-crusted pork chops. I had a bite the other night, and it lived up to her hype. I personally can not recommend the flour less chocolate cake enough. It was divine!! No matter what I have for dinner, every time that is on the menu I will be finishing my meal with that cake! The decor is nice and cozy. I like that they have closed off the opening closest to the sliding doors. It's upscale without being pretentious.

Great service, fantastic wine list, and good food. My only complaint was it was very salty for my taste.

Recently ate at Grouse Mountain on a vacation in Beaver- it was definitely one of the best meals we had. The Pretzel Pork Chop was amazing; it is a lot of food and can be easily shared. We also thought the service was great; especially liked Tony and the wine recommendation that was only $6.50/glass! Highly Grouse Mountain!

This is one of the best restaurants in the Vail/Beaver Creek area. The decor is little understated, very casual. They have big windows looking out on to the mountain, but at dinner time you really can't see anything. The service is very good. They are helpful and knowledgeable. I have never been rushed through a meal, they let you take as long as you need for everything. The sommelier was phenomenal. He knew the wine list inside out, had tons of recommendations, and never tried to up-sell us (major props). The wine list is amazing. To start, we had specialty martinis while we decided on our meals, then of course our wines. They had something to suit everyone from classic to inventive. For appetizers, the fried oysters and gnocchi (with lamb shoulder, beet greens, golden raisins, and pistachios). We both enjoyed the appetizers very much. The pistachios were an interesting addition to the gnocchi, but it worked. For our mains, we had the culver duck and the elk lion. Both dishes were cooked perfectly. They were flavorful, tender, and just all around good. My only compliant is that the portions were quite large. Personally, I like small portions when the food is really rich. The restaurant is pricey, but if you are looking to splurge on one meal, this would definitely be one of my recommendations.

Where to start? Wow what a great place! Super friendly and attentive staff. The atmosphere was delightful - a live piano player really set the mood. For starters I enjoyed the bread basket and homemade spreads - the red onion marmalade was delish! The boneless short rib lettuce wraps were also very good For a main entree I had a tenderloin steak it was incredible and literally cut with my fork. I also tried out the porkchops with pretzels and they were very good - and it was a very generous serving. My only regret is that I didn't have room for dessert. I highly recommend the Riesling - bottle 838 - a 2007 bottle of Gysler Kabinett which had an amazing combo of honey apple and other fruits - man it was incredible. Thus far, this has been my favorite place to eat in the Avon area. It is highly recommended!!!!

This restaurant is one of the top rated restaurants in Beaver Creek. The view from the restaurant is nothing short of spectacular, specially if you can get in for dinner when there is still daylight. The wine selection is ok, but they do have some good labels. The service is amazing. The bread melts in your mouth. Now for the food - they have really good steak and great fish. You cannot go wrong trying either. The reason I gave this place 4 stars (and not 5) is because while the restaurant is worth going to, and while the food and service is great, it is overpriced.

Located in the Pines Lodge, we took the shuttle from the Park Hyatt (5 minutes) and arrived at 7:30 pm. Our table was not yet ready so we had a drink in their very small bar located in the back left corner. Bartender was very friendly and made a few suggestions for dinner. He was right on. We had a great table by the window, and our waiter Ted was EXCELLENT. We were starved as it was our first night and quickly ordered dinner. I had the BEST PORK CHOP EVER, the "pretzel chop" - it was so good that I could have LICKED THE PLATE...and I spoke to a few others who had the same and they LOVED it as well. Hot Mamma had the striped bass (it was great) and the Lobster Mac. She also destroyed several glasses of very expensive wine! Ambiance is great and we had a lovely evening........this is our favorite place, and second only to Zach's. 1 Lobster Masc 15.00 1 Pork Chop 35.00 1 Striped Bass 34.00 **Food $84.00 2 Widmer 12.00 2 Gl Paul Hobbs ch 29.00 1 Gl Far Niente Ch 21.00 1 Widmer 6.00 **Beverages $68.25 Total - $167.46

This is the best restaurant we ate at in Vail/Beaver Creek, and we ate at some very good restaurants. I'd give it 6 stars on a scale of 5 just to emphasize that it's better than the other 5 stars I handed out. The atmosphere is very upscale ski resort cozy. For starters, the lamb and pistachio gnocchi is delicious. Full of flavor. The lamb shank entree and the striped bass entree are great options. I wanted to try the elk bc I have heard good things, but for $52 I was afraid I might not like it and that's pricey for experimenting. We went there for one of our party members birthday. A man with an accordion came out and sang. What's not to like about an accordion? It's a pricey place, but worth it.

I dont know about the restaurant office, but the restaurant is fantaaaastic. They were running a locals special while I was there and it was 3 courses for $34!! So we decided to indulge in a great bottle of wine- so worth it. There was no sommelier, but that was ok- we took the leap and it paid off- the food was great, specials were interesting. My friend had venison and it was a bit rare but my entree was great- the spinach side was heavy on the oil, but it was good that way!! The apple tart dessert was awesome as well. Well done.

My first thought was why did I come all the way to Colorado to spend lots of money at a high class restaurant (I can get plenty of that in SF). But you know what? Vail is also a place for the rich and famous to mingle and experience fine dining. Everything we had there was exceptional except for the Venison Sausage -- can't say I liked it too much. Overall, if you have money to spend, the food here will not disappoint.

I wish I could give this place 500 stars!! Went on a trip to Avon on my 2nd anniversary. We were a bit late in making reservations and still Robin managed to find us a quiet table, very romantic and by a window away from noise as per my (hopeful) request. We were immediately greeted and seated upon arriving by a very friendly and lovely staff. While I agree with other reviews that the decor may be a touch understated, I found it to be cozy and inviting. Pillows on chairs with arms at a cozy table put us at home instantly. The wine list is phenomenal and there is zero pressure by the staff to purchase the pricier varietals, of which, they have many. Our beautiful $55.00 dollar bottle of Erath was presented by the sommelier with the same care he took with the $300.00 bottles, this spoke volumes to me about the care this house takes in their guests. To start we had the short ribs in lettuce wraps (GET THEM!!), our lovely wine and the house's fresh bread...a big cheat food for me and with fresh whipped butter, red pepper coulee and sweet onion jam at the table, worth every calorie!! My husband had the walleye battered with flour and served with house tartar sauce and a mixed green salad, their take on an elegant fish fry...it was very tasty and perfectly cooked. I had the much talked about pretzel pork chops and they lived up!!! I cannot stress the importance of a well cooked piece of meat and in that category, they do not disappoint!! We finished with dessert and jokingly asked our fantastic server Dawn if something au flambé was possible...a nod to the fire ban and the fact that we lacked fireworks on our 4th of July anniversary. She smiled and came back with a lovely coffee presentation, our creme fraiche cheesecake with apricot sorbet with a candle on the plate along with the music man Tony (who is fantastic) and took me by surprise with an accordion serenade table side. This experience MADE our anniversary evening and surpassed all my expectations. The staff is phenomenal, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. I worked in the service industry for 12 years...I know the inner workings of the business, how challenging it is and how easily an amazing experience can be soured. This is the first dining experience I can say I have ever had where I left Happy and content in every aspect of our experience!! These people care about what they do. A must if anyone is in the area!!!! On our special day, we were truly shown the love!!

WOW! We've eaten at many restaurants in the Vail Valley and this one is the best, by far. Great ambience, exceptional food and service. Nice wine list. The meal started with complimentary breads with three tasty toppings. We ordered the beef short ribs lettuce wraps, lobster mascarpone, crispy pan seared bass, preztel crusted pork chops, and warm brioche donuts. All of them were unique and amazing. The portion of bass was somewhat small, but perfect for my appetite. It may not be enough for others. We will definitely be back!

This is one of my favorite places to celebrate a special occasion! The ambiance is fantastic winter or summer and the food is unforgettable. The Lobster Mascarpone is incredible. Enjoy a fine bottle of wine and soak up the view over a special dinner at Grouse Mountain Grill!

Living in DC Metro area provides the best restaurants in the world, IMO. I am always cautiously optimistic when I visit any other "superb" restaurant. I understood the cost implications in going here so both my wife & I ordered what we wanted & enjoyed every minute. The service here was probably the best, most friendly, and helpful that I ever have experienced; from the valet attendant, to the host, to the bartender, the sommelier & of course the waiter! Everyone was GREAT!!! But you go to a restaurant for the food, right? Well it did not disappoint. The first course's were outstanding as I had the short rib beef lettuce wraps and my wife had the lobster. I thought these were probably better than the main courses & hence the 4 stars rather than 5. For main courses, we paired a superb shiraz recommended by the sommelier (reasonably priced at about $60) for my wife's beef tenderloin & my elk loin. I never had elk before & listened to the waiter's suggestion of cooking it! It was very good & was not "gamey" at all. My wife's beef tenderloin was good but nothing to write home about according to her. We skipped dessert because we were stuffed. The restaurant was small with a quaint atmosphere. I would recommend going there but you better know what you are getting into so when the $100 per person bill arrives, you are not in shock & should not be!

Ate here 3/15 and the food was excellent. Only reason not 5 stars is the environment is a little sterile. The lobster marscopone, pork chop, ny strip, scallops, and short rib lettuce wraps were great. Also the portions are sizable. The oysters were great, but served a little warm. Overall I would highly recommend.

Grouse Mountain Grill occupies a large space on the entry level to The Pines. We were two for dinner on a Monday. Seating at a nice table with a view went smoothly without trying to foist a bad table on us. The menu is large and eclectic, the wine list is encyclopedic and has suggestions for pairings for most items on the menu - something I haven't seen before. The lobster mascarpone was excellent as was the spinach salad. The halibut was very good and so was the chicken. The peach tart was nice. The wines I picked from the pairings suggestions were very well matched to the food. The service was excellent. Our server, Wes, was unobtrusive when needed, full of knowledge when asked a question and very helpful. I have been to many restaurant where excellent food was spoiled by less than stellar service, so I appreciated the service and enjoyed the food better here.

If you're staying near Beaver Creek, you've got to taste the game that Colorado is known for! Although they don't serve the grouse, they've got juicy, tender morsels of venison along with all sorts of scrumptious dishes. The ambiance isn't too stuffy to come in casual wear. Valet parking for this hidden restaurant within a hotel is free. Service could be better and be warned of the automatic 20+%.

If Yelp offered 6 stars, the Grouse would get all of them. In town on vacation, our dear friends who have a familial connection with the Grouse took us up to the mountains just for this treat. We stayed the night in the resort, but the highlight was clearly this special mountain retreat. Our table overlooked the picturesque snow covered treetops a few tables away from the talented piano man Tony G. Perhaps it was the family ties that assured our perfect dining experience but something tells me David and Nancy treats everyone like royalty here. Our awesome waitress even opened my eyes to the local organic Cap Rock gin--it's no Hendricks--it might even be better! Mind blowing appetizers, entrees and desserts await you at this truly fine restaurant. My favorites: the lobster mascarpone, the beef tenderloin and the apple bread pudding. And Daniella's special dessert was out of this world... a sesame and chocolate chip macaroon with a champagne cream and plum strawberry compote. If you're in the Beaver Creek or Vail area, be sure to budget for a night out at the Grouse--it's very special indeed.

Terrific service and fantastic food -- the best we've had in a very long time! We had 5:30pm reservations because we knew we would be dead tired after a long day of skiing. We arrived around 5:00 because we wanted to sit at the bar and have a drink first. Their very friendly bartender made us three outstanding martinis -- he even adjusted mine to suit my taste for more sweetness. At 5:30, they came to the bar to fetch us and bring us to our table, which was right by the window near the bar. (Although the place was practically empty at that time, I feared that we would be seated somewhere in the back, but it was a great spot.) For our dinner entrees, we relied on the bartender's recommendations and ordered the steak, elk, and rack of lamb (all medium rare, as the chef recommends). All three were wonderful. The elk was a very pleasant surprise: not gamy at all, just a hearty flavor that was a nice contrast to the steak. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare -- not too rare as I often experience -- and it was as good as the best I've ever had. The wait staff were friendly, knowledgeable, readily available, and yet unobtrusive. At the end, the manager came up to us, shook our hands, and thanked us for coming. We've been to a lot of fine restaurants in Vail and Beaver Creek, but this one was the best -- and we will be back.

Tasty cuisine; stellar wine-list with reviews and info on every wine; attentive unobtrusive service and a sommelier who actually stops by every table and serves you the wine with live background piano music. Very relaxing after a hard day at play. The Lobster started was outstanding. Don't miss this relaxing restaurant that serves up excellent creative and tasty cuisine with glass wines that are interesting hard-to-find wines matched to the foods. One of the few spots in the area to serve the glass at correct temperature. If you love to try amazing wines go to Grouse.

This restaurant is wonderful in its setting and service. The staff from the host to the waiters all care that you have a great time and love the food. We did the amazing fixed price menu. Could not believe that one choice was scallops and ravioli in a very special sauce. The view is sweeping mountain peaks in near distance and lovely pine cone sprinkled trees and aspens right out the window. Deserves every compliment.

Pork chops encrusted in pretzels, an entree I didn't know existed before coming here. Definitely the best restaurant in the Beaver Creek area. Desserts are also fabulous, if you have room left in your tummy.

The Grouse Mountain Grill has consistently great fine dining in Beaver Creek. The service is excellent, and the food is always good. The location in the Pines Lodge is a little bit out of the way, but well worth the trip. During the busy 2008 holiday season, our family enjoyed an excellent lamb shank special, with meat that practically fell right off the bone. We will be returning to the Grouse Mountain Grill.

Located in Beaver Creek and inside the Pine Lodge. I made reservations since it was our last night of three in the Vail area. Valet parking was complimentary. The restaurant interior is cozy, elegant and the dining area faced the bar but was segregated. Once entering I was greeted by the manager who sat us immediately at a table with a perfect view of the spectacular mountains. The menu changes daily and they have a solid selection of wine by the glass or bottle. Started off with the Colorado beef tartare paired with a nice merlot - both were incredible followed by the my main dish - bacon wrapped rabbit loin and sausage with sweet pea tortellini. The entrée was beautifully presented and delicious. I also sampled the locally caught bass filet with skin on which was also superb and yet reasonable. To complete are meal complete we finished with the poached peaches and cheesecake homemade ice cream dessert, which we finished to the last bite. Overall a terrific meal with superb service from our waiter Patrick. I would definitely recommend this establishment for a nice dinner out or special occasion.

This place is awesome! If you're down to spend tons of loot, come here for dinner! The short rib is amazing. I also had the corn chowder, which was delicious and unique. Highly recommend the tater tots! Best tater tots I have ever had. Great food, great service, great ambience. The live music was very nice. The food was hot.

Considering them for your wedding? Read on... We had them cater our wedding in December of 2014. They were amazing hosts. So so kind to us before we made the decision to hire them. We were in Wisconsin, and used them as a destination value for about 100 guests. The entire staff was kind and the pricing was well below the value we feel we received. Food. Wow. James beard chef. Steaks. Chicken. Both great. Favorite is the candied carrots.

One of Colorado's finest restaurants! A great selection of free range meats with organic greens and veggies. It's also a family friendly place, which is appreciated. We come back often.

This restaurant tuned out to be not only the best one we visited on our 10-day trip across the country, but also one of the best we've ever been to (and we've dined in many great restaurants). The 14-day aged duck entrée was to die for! Simply perfect. I still remember this dish a month later. They clearly have an amazing chef - all dishes from start to finish were fantastic including the sides of vegetables (delicious roasted carrots!) and the bread that was served with an unusual selection of butters. It felt like being in food heaven. We made sure to come back the next day while we still had an opportunity. My only minor complaint is that several waiters served us throughout the evening and we would have preferred to deal with one person. In any case this was a memorable meal and we'll definitely be back next time we visit Colorado.

Wow! Freakin awesome. Sat at the bar for dinner. Sicilian piano player jamming, Nate mixing drinks, terrific. Started with the TaterTots, well, they're fantastic. Had the duck with grilled asparagus... one of the best meals I have ever had in CO (and we've been coming to the area for over two decades). HIGHLY recommend.

This review is solely for the bar portion of the restaurant. I had some downtime between unpacking and a rehearsal dinner for a wedding I was attending the following day. My Husband was a groomsman as were my husbands friends. The men had wedding stuff to tend to so us girls would have to find something to keep us busy. We ventured down for a quick round before needing to head to the rehearsal site. I really liked this bar, it had a lovely ambiance and the bartender was just phenomenal. I believe his name was either Nate or Nat. Super friendly and knowledgeable, he helped me out by offering a special old fashion with marinaded fruits. I love whiskey and this old fashion did not disappoint. My friend had the lemon thyme martini, which I tried and loved. The cocktails were lovely, which complimented the sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. I would have liked a seat on the patio, but it was on the full side and we were only there for one drink. We left after one cocktail a piece and ventured forth with our evening. However after the rehearsal dinner those of us that were staying at the lodge popped back in for a nightcap. We stayed until closing and maybe got a little loud and rowdy. It was all in good fun though and no one seemed to mind too much. The trip is over but the taste of the old fashion lingers in my head and heart, I must recreate the marinaded fruit for future OF's.

There are few times in life that a restaurant exceeds expectations. Our meal at Grouse Mountain Grill was one of those times. The food was excellent, simply some of the best food I've eaten anywhere. The beef tartare was incredibly good. But that wasn't the best thing about the meal. Our server Racheal was simply the greatest thing that happened all night, period. What a blessing to behold a person who takes their job super seriously but manages to be so personable and just a treat to interact with. When one of the servers didn't explain the origin of the bread and spreads brought at the beginning of the meal she ENSURED that he returned to do so. All done with the easiest smile and attitude one could hope for. Cheers to you Rachael! And Grouse Mountain Grill for a wonderful evening.

Been here twice now and I gotta say, I have not been disappointed on even one thing! Their appetizers, entrees, and dessert are on point. Our server and bartender were fantastic and very accommodating. Our favorites are the tater tots to share, lobster app, steak entree, and pork chops. The churro dessert is mind blowing. Can't wait to go back to this place!

Dear Grouse Mountain - thank you for rescuing our night. We had an unsatisfying dinner at another local restaurant and were still hungry. We decided to return to our hotel at The Pines and hoped GM could seat us without reservations AND for apps & dessert only. After notifying the hostess of our situation, she gladly led us to a cozy fireside table for two and propped a PC tablet on the table that was our electronic wine menu. Looking around, I liked the new remodel of the dining room. It wasn't anything extraordinary, but it was very comfortable yet had a quiet, laid back dignity. Carlos was our server, and we informed him we were only there for starters and dessert. He was completely unfazed by this, and in fact brought us a basket of beautiful bread and butter, of which I devoured. He was also very attentive, funny, and personable... a welcome attitude that was worlds apart from the service we had just experienced at the other establishment. The other staff also appeared warm and friendly as they bustled around, but a few seemed surprised whenever we thanked them for pouring our waters or clearing our table. The duck confit tater tots were excellent - crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with just the right amount of fat and meatiness. YUM. The buffalo carpaccio was delicious with its accoutrements, though the slices of meat were thicker than I expected. Its parmesan tuile was an artistic addition. Both dishes were definitely heartier than the "small" plates I was expecting. But if there was one thing that stood out, it was our dessert. I can't remember what it was called, but it consisted of a long stick of pretzel from which a huge row of brioche donuts were suspended. It was served with a trio of sauces, of which I recall blackberry, an alcohol-infused anglaise, and some red one. The entire thing was bigger than expected and wholly satisfying. This dessert blew us away. RECOMMENDED.

This place is worth every dollar! We have came here twice and it is on point! The lobster app is just amazing. You need to order it for sure. The pretzel crusted pork chops is original on the menu and u won't be disappointed. Service was great! 5 stars in my book for sure

We went to Grouse for our first dinner as husband and wife :) It has a great atmosphere and amazing service. The food was good - I didn't enjoy my dish (bison short ribs), but I enjoyed my husband's dish. Thank goodness he shares! Everything else was great - I'm doing 4 stars, b/c I had a higher opinion of another place, and I don't think it'd be fair to rate them the same.

The food and dining experience at the Grouse was excellent. We ate at the bar on a Sunday night, by choice to listen to the fine musical stylings of Tony on the piano. The manager (another Tony) was welcoming, and the bartender, Alex, was spot on with all her

Have visited Beaver Creek for many years but never tried Grouse Mountain Grill. Well, that has changed, we will be eating there on a regular basis. We will also be asking for Colin to serve us.....what an awesome experience. Colin knew the menu and shared his wealth of information with us. He made sure their wonderful bread and spreads were plentiful. We followed Colin's suggestions and chose the Pork Belly, Gnocchi and Bison Short Ribs. All very good! A wonderful experience!
