The food here is amazing! The service is awesome and the people are friendly. I'm from Texas living in Wyoming and this made me homesick. This is Mexican food at its finest and will definitely make the 4 hr drive to come and eat here again.

The food here is one of the best mexican restaurants in Aurora. And they have karaoke nights! You can also get ready to order tamales, red or green chili a dozen.

The food was good. However, the service was horrible. When we arrived we were the only ones there. By the time we left there were 2 other tables total. Had to ask several times for water and items were forgotten. Will not be returning.

They recently expanded into the next space and have increased their dine-in area to include a bar (still in progress). Also, they now serve Jamaica (pronounced ha-mic-a) a flower based drink I enjoyed in my childhood. Very nice!

For 5.99, I got 4 small tacos. The tacos were not as tasty as I expected. I wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

This is really great authentic Mexican food. The Los Gordos big burrito is the largest burrito I have ever seen and it is really tasty. They always serve you fresh chips and salsa. The horchata is always amazing and you get free refills on it. The only thing I wouldn't get is the goat meat dish. It was really, really salty.

Awesome Mexican food treasure! My husband enjoys their Carne Asada Tacos and I had the Tamales, I enjoyed the red over the green but they were both yummy! I love their little salsa chip bowl and how the chips are nice and warm when they come out to you. I am so excited that my husband took me here, the food is awesome!

Loved this place, we were here for lunch and it wasn't busy, so I have no solid comments on the service. But let's talk about the giant bowl of boiling meats that you can see in the pictures... I've never seen a giant boiling cauldron of meats before; it's insane. Similar to a fajita plate, they bring it to the table with contents boiling around the edges and topped with cheese. The meat is quality, the tortillas are fresh, the service was fine. Honestly one of the most unique dishes i've ever had, and so delicious. If I take anyone here, I won't even allow them to order anything else. **Don't let the $15 price tag drag you down, this thing feeds at least 2-3 people; I made 2 extra meals from the leftovers. Just order it and be amazed. ALSO - if you didn't already know - there's a super sicky "Phat Mart" right next Los Gordos if you feel like seriously copping some style after the cauldron fest.

This is an authentic Mexican restaurant. I felt like in Mexico. The food is well presented and the taste is delicious. They have very affordable prices. I couldn't believe that the horchata was homemade, when I tasted I immediately knew that it was not the powder thing. The ambiance is pretty and nicely decorated.

Delicious as usual! It feels like I'm in here everytime it snows- I love the Gordos Mochajente! Love it ! There is something about the red sauce that all the meat an chili is cooked in that just screams fantastic! I especially enjoy my leftovers with eggs the next morning ( yes I said leftovers- the Mochajente is huuuuge!) - I've also ordered chili rellenos here both the soft traditional an the crispy are very delicious - I have yet to order from the fast side you walk in on but from what I can tell from my dining experience on the sit down side I can only expect it to be fantastic- if your ever in aurora this place is a must!

When we came in, it seems that there are 2 areas to seat. The staff said, you can choose where ever you want to seat. So we decide to seat ourselves at the Bigger Dinning area located at the Left wing of the establishment. Perhaps the one, at the Entrance, the "smaller" section of dining area, are meant for TO-GO waiting area etc etc.. My bad, did not ask our lovely server about the different seating areas. This recent visit was on Saturday January 18th 2014 after running some errands in this neighborhood. That evening was about 17:30hrs ish. Once we seat ourselves, our lovely server gave us the Menu and ask if we want anything for our Beverages. At first Hubs wanted to have Coke Cola, but our server said, they don't have Coke Cola, but they have Mexican Coke Cola in a bottle.., hence that was Hubs choice of beverages, while I opt for water. I ask our server if I can order different types of Tacos and she said "YES"... SCORE!! We ordered the following items : * 1 Lengua, 1 Beef Asada, [1 Tripa (Tripe) + $0.25] and 1 Birria aka Tacos Mixitos ($8.00) * Beef Asada Street Tacos ($6.75) * Mexican Coke Cola ($2.75) While waiting for our food to be ready, our server gave us the Chips and Salsa. We like the Chips and Salsa coz they heat up the Chips and the Salsa was put into a tortilla bowl. Addictive Chips I must add, OR perhaps we were "starving Marvins".... After waiting about 15 minutes or so, we received our Tacos orders. The Taco Plate comes with Diced Raw Onions, Cilantro and 2 Limes Wedges. Each Taco Plates comes with 2 kinds of Salsa, one was Green and the other was Red. The amount of meats in each Taco, can be split into 2, hence in total you can get 8 Tacos. Decent Tacos Hubs said. The Lengua was my least favorite coz they do not cook it further though I cannot deny its tender. The Beef Asada Tacos was Okay. The Tripa aka Tripe, they FRIED it.. so crunchy, very addictive and I like those too... Isn't "CRUNCHY" and "FRIED" good in the books?? The BEST Taco I have from this establishment was the Birria, the steamed goat. Its so tender and melt in the mouth... With all "8" Tacos each, indeed the Taco Dinner was filling. Once we were done with Taco Dinner, there are many more patrons dining in and this establishment really got filled up. There is also a Bar Area allocated at this establishment. The service was prompt, efficient and our server her name is Evelyn was very accommodating and attentive. Our Dinner was $19.17, with tips was $23. The Qualm we have or I guess it was just me, the Parking outside can be a nightmare during PEAK HOURS of Dinner while we were there, be it before or when we were about to leave the establishment. Just be extra careful. Left this establishment about 18:20hrs ish. Los Gordos Taqueria 1034 S. Sable Blvd Aurora, CO 80012 Tel : (303) 750-0502 @17/2014

Please don't waste your time. Service is very slow, only had one drink refill, they charge you extra for every little thing, food is not well prepared, atmosphere is good, burritos are loose and basically filled with more green chile and juices than meat, cowboy tacos had more lettuce as if they were feeding a rabbit, and basically isn't worth the time, money, or gas to drive here.

Don't get queso! Gross! The big burrito and fajitas were good. Huge portions! There are better Mexican restaurants. It was a little pricy, as well.

Wes the manager is very nice his waitresses are nice but they tend to mess up even if you ask in Spanish. The food is great! I'm gluten free due to celiac and wes and the staff were willing to accommodate me

Went there again last weekend. The server from last year was there, but she was behind the bar and seemed not to be obsessively checking on people (we sat at a table in the bar area). Sooo...five stars this time. The carnitas con pollo is AMAZING. I love the food here. It was nice and busy (but not too busy) with a diverse crowd on a Sunday at dinner time--that says good things to me.

Didn't feel welcomed. Facility needs some TLC. When a place nickel and dimes you for a chips and salsa refill I'll go to one of the other hundred Mexican places in town.

Some of the Best tamales I've ever had. Very light, fluffy, and flavorful. Skip the rellanos though, They were soggy with grease and had no flavor. The salsa was super flavorful and comes in an adorable tostada shell that is very tasty when all the salsa is gone. Everything else was just average in taste. Still, I would gladly come back here.

I really liked my meals have gone twice. Really like the salsa and the chips. The rest of my meal have been good and seemed like the cook cared about quality of food. Will go back I feel like the owners do care about the food they put out. hope the owners do not burn out. I will co back the salsa was a little different than other places.. not as red-but really tasty..... would just buy a container for take out... it wasn't to spicy had a little heat and was not overpowered by the heat like some salsas

A little more expensive than expected, but it's the real deal. Great food, but a little slow on service. We'll be back.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
