So, during my adventures this morning, I got hungry. I whipped out the good ol' Yelp ap specifically looking to see if something new had opened near me and JACKPOT! Jesus Mexican Taqueria is on the far back end of the north side of the Safeway shopping center. The address just maps you to the shopping center in general. I was starting to think it didn't really exist until I ventured back there and found it. This is seriously a hole in the wall type of restaurant. Bare essentials, nothing fancy. You order at the counter and they bring your order out to you. There's not much more to it. I absolutely LOVE street style tacos. Just corn tortillas, meat, cilantro and onion. This is exactly it. You get some lime wedges and salsas on the side to dress them up and then, start stuffing your pie hole! Errr.... should I say, taco hole? Absolutely delicious, fresh and authentic. The best part? The tacos are only $1.50 a piece! If this place served margaritas and put themselves out there to the late night crowd, it would be a hit! Is it illegal to operate a bicycle while drunk? Because I'll fix my bike for margaritas and tacos. It's just a little too far away to walk here. Anyway, I haven't written a review in a long time but I wanted to make a point to do so to get this place some attention. It's pretty effing awesome and I want them to continue to reside in my neighborhood. GO EAT HERE!

Had the asada taco and burrito as take out. Asked for no onions but got them in both. After picking them all out they were both great. Came with 3 types of salsa. The rojo one is freaking hot!!! Great mixed with the salsa verde. The burrito was a little pricey compared to the rest of the menu but was huge and I have half left over for lunch tomorrow. Fast friendly service. Will eat here again.

I don't know what to say. Everything is just so so. I don't feel like eating in here because the place feels cold, so I asked to go. There is only one table and I had to wait about 15 mins to get my food. The burrito is huge, but the taco is just average. This place don't offer any condiments( sauce, pickled onion, jalapeño).... Overall nothing special about this place, the reviews are overrated.

Awesome burritos! My boyfriend got the asada, I got the american. Made fresh, good portion, good prices, friendly service. We've lived in the area for 9 months -wish we would have found this place sooner! We'll be back!

I have never been to the restaurant but I can say that an authentic Mexican restaurant that delivers could be the best idea ever. They said it would only take 15 minutes to get the food but it took over and hour because the driver got lost. When they got there they apologized over and over again and gave me my meal for free!!!! I guess they thought it was going to be old and soggy but it was AMAZING!!!!! Will definitely be ordering from here again.

As a Mexican, I didn't think this food was great but it was not bad either, they certainly could use less sugar in the horchata though.

I went there for the very first time. It was freezing in there! I had a handheld breakfast burrito and a bowl of Menudo. The burrito was good. The ingredients appeard to be fresh. Now I liked the breakfast burrito. I thought the Menudo was average. Not enough tripe..it just was unimpressive. You tried but no cigar!

Update, tried the breakfast burrito with egg, potato, cheese and sausage. Definitely filling and cheap. The one suggestion I would have is the burrito was a tiny bit dry and needed some chili verde or something to kick it to the next level. All in all good though!

I have nothing bad to say about this place, other than the dinning area being small. But this is a great place to order ahead and take home. They seem to increase menu items each time that I go, and the employees are generally nice and respectful.

We just moved to the area and happened to find this place. The smothered asada burrito and chicken enchiladas were delicious, we'll definitely be coming back.

I can't believe it took me 3 months to come here and it's right behind my house! We went back again the next day after our first visit. Smothered fajita burritos are awesome (and huge) and the guac is fresh!

Really delicious tacos! Don't let the mom-and-pop look fool you; these are some of the best tacos I've had in a long time. The food isn't expensive at all, the staff are courteous and polite, and they take your order promptly. I would definitely recommend! The only thing is is I wish they had Pozole but other than that, this place is great.

This is a new restaurant close to where i live. I love Mexican food and so of course I had to try it. The Pork Pastor Gorditas are so delicious and they are only 3.00 each, the pastor tacos are also delicious and they are 1.50. You just can't beat the price and taste.

The cook wasn't wearing gloves when preparing meat. He touch the rare meat with bare hands and not washing his hands after to prepare another plate. How can this place still stay in business? You have been warned!! Stay away!!

The al pastor and carnitas tacos were very delicious with a side of rice and beans. Al frescos tamarind was tasty and refreshing. Mmmmm.

Had the pollo enchiladas and the traditional asada street tacos. They were amazing. The enchiladas were rich and mildly spiced, more like a casserole than other enchiladas. The beans were flavorful and rich and the rice had a citrus after taste. The owner even taught be a few phrases en Español while I waited

I wanted to like this place, I really did. I had the tacos de tripita. The tacos are made on large, "American-size" tortillas rather than the small ones used by taco vendors in Mexico or other authentic taco places. Here's what I like about the smaller tacos; they are piled with meat which inevitably falls out and then you have your second little tortilla to eat it with. Not the case with these tacos. The amount of meat is scarce in comparison to the size of the tortilla; no need for 2 tortillas on these tacos. I had to peel the second tortilla off because it was so much tortilla and so little meat that it felt like I was going to choke. The tripe was seasoned well, but I asked for it to be crunchy and sadly, it was limp and kind of soggy.

I love this place. The outside looks a bit run down, especially in front of the thrift store next door, but inside it is clean and uncluttered. The restaurant reminds me of the food Mazatlan. The tortas and tacos are great, the service is wonderful, and the place is always spotless. I had the asada torta. It was very filling and oh so tasty. The vegetables on the sandwich were fresh and the sauce that came with it was a perfect amount of tangy with a hint of spicy. I also had asada taco. The corn tortilla was perfect and the steak was cooked to perfection. I recommend this place. Don't let the exterior fool you, inside is where the magic is happening.

Nice hole in the wall place to eat. However the entire time I was there all that was on was Spanish tv. The chiles rellenos were terrible and left a bad tast in my mouth. The only descent thing was the smothered steak burrito. The detractor to it was it was not warm when served.

The chorizo breakfast burritos are very tasty but you have to get here early because they can run out of ingredients quick. The chilaquiles are very flavorful as well. I have not had the lunch burritos so I cannot speak to them but the guacamole has a very good flavor and adds a strong compliment to any meal or separate with chips. Can't beat how close this is to my house and the breakfast burritos will keep me coming back

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
