I used to live in Aurora a long time ago. We were there when this place opened over almost 20 years ago. We have since moved away to another state and come back into town for family events. I was in town last week and I must say, this place is STILL, hands down, the BEST Chinese food EVER. Consistent, flavorful, affordable wonderful food for over 20 years now. You can't go wrong here. Ever. If we come into Denver, we will make a stop here at least once. Always awesome.

My favorite go-to staples are the Lemon Chicken and Hot & Sour Soup. East Café is known for the Lemon Chicken, and instead of saying it's the best in town, I'm not from Aurora, so I'll have to say it's the best state-wide! The ratio of breading to sauce is just perfect. And the thickness, sweetness and color of the sauce is also a great balance. The Hot & Sour Soup is good because there hasn't been any other places where I've had shrimp in a Hot & Sour Soup. If you like fried rice, I strongly recommend the Salmon Fried Rice, it isn't very common and it's a hit. If on the day I think it's too salty, I'll just ask for a little white rice and mix the two together and it's delicious! On my most recent visit, I was introduced to the Beef Skewer appetizer. Woah, we were blown away as to how substantial, or "beefy" it was. It reminds me of Chinese style beef jerky, still juicy and tasty and a hint of pink. YUM. I'm not sure if vegetarians would love this place though, because the vegetable dishes we've tried are pretty lackluster. But it doesn't matter so much, we just won't order all veggie dishes! The best part of East Café is its FAST service and very affordable prices. I wish there are more such Americanized Chinese cafes on my side of town.

When you take New Yorkers out of NYC one of the first things they do is start searching for a good Chinese restaurant. So far we've found a few extremely bad ones, but East Cafe was highly recommended, so we figured we'd try it. While not up to par with NYC Chinese restaurants, the food was nonetheless delicious. The Hot & Sour Soup, though quite mild, was some of the most flavorful we've ever had and didn't require doctoring. The egg rolls, more like spring rolls, were very thin, crisp, but quite greasy. Of the 3 entrees we ordered, the standout was the Hurricane Combo - slightly spicy with beef & chicken (we opted out of the shrimp), broccoli, and mixed Chinese veggies in an unthickened brown sauce. The Mixed Wonton Platter too was delicious, with beef, chicken, shrimp, and mango in a thick, sweet, mildly spicy fruit sauce. A little too sweet for my taste. The sauce on the third dish, Mandarin Chicken ,tasted exactly like the Hurricane Combo sauce, with less spice and more sweet. I'd probably go back to try some of the other dishes, and give it another chance. Our waiter was personable, but not the best waiter. If you're craving Chinese food, and you've been let down by Denver's offerings, and you're not intrepid enough for Federal Blvd...this might just fit the bill.

My husband and I love Chinese, especially ordering it for delivery. We have tried numerous places. We finally decided to try this place after hearing about it from a friend. We actually sat down at the restaurant, and it was so amazing! From the service to the food everything was fabulous! Our server was kind and so efficient. We had dinner for two, which includes soup, and two entrees we also added in some appetizers. The hot and sour soup was the best I have ever had. We then had seasons chicken and hurricane beef, both were amazing. I feel like sesame chicken is a hit or miss and this one was definitely a home run! The best part, was the whole dinner was ridiculously affordable and well priced! I was in shock! We're bringing our parents here tonight and cannot wait!

My inaugural Chinese takeout order was at East Cafe. I found a menu at MenuPix.com which turned out to be outdated, so the total was about $2.00 more than I had anticipated (also, please be advised that the meals come with steamed rice and fried rice is 50 cents extra). I called in the order just before the dinner rush, and the man on the phone answered my questions and read the order back to me. He said it'd be ready in 10-15 minutes. I knew the restaurant was 10 minutes away from my house, so I left immediately, and my order was already ready when I arrived! I thought that this meant that my food would be cold by the time I got back home, but it was still piping hot. The spicy tofu and veggies wasn't as spicy as I would have liked, but the egg rolls were good and I really enjoyed the cream cheese wontons. Not bad for my first time ordering takeout!

Can not beat a $6.00 lunch special that includes lunch entree, 2 piece appetizer and soup! NY taste in the midwest! TOTALLY SCORED finding this place!

    (5)
  • Vic B.

Disappointing. Although Beef Lomein was good (but greasy), and the wonton soup tasted fresh, the sesame chicken was awful. For the $ charged, we would have expected more. The chicken was the typical "byproduct" and the fry-up old and rubbery. Not going back.

Good atmosphere casual dining. I came here during lunch they offer a great lunch menu large portion of Food at a great price. I never had to wait to be seated . Restraunt is always clean. I recommend this place.

  • Denise R.

Well ugh kinda disappointed we had a 20 min wait and they were so busy ...I think that's why they food didn't taste as good as the first time they also have a different menu for lunch and don't offer wonton soup with meals only hot and sour and egg drop. Both I don't like so I got the salad??? Hmm not impressed it was lettuce drenched in soy sauce

Tried this place on Wednesday and there was no wait. Server was very attentive and polite. They serve hot tea along with water at no charge. Got the medium hot and sour soup and it was very, very large. It comes in a big bowl and server poured it in two smaller bowls for us (very nice). Nothing unique about the soup other than it had shrimp in it, so that was nice. We took the Yelp advice and got the Hurricane Chicken and Hurricane Combo. The food is good, large-ish portions. Pretty greasy but it was delicious. The server boxed and bagged everything for us and that was also very nice! We will have the soup and our entrees for lunch and possibly dinner tomorrow, too. And the price point was very good. + Service + Price + Portions

This place is incredible. I have tried over 10 different things on the menu and been satisfied every time. No matter what time of day you go it's packed but the service is always great and very fast. I highly recommend East Cafe, you simply can't beat their food quality, service, and price. (lunch is never more than $8 and includes soup, an appetizer, and hot tea)

Love this place! We've been going to this restaurant for over a decade, since we were children. We always attend with family, the service has always been top notch and the food, always great! We always order (for about 5 people) A "pupu" platter or two, hot and sour soup, shrimp fried rice, lo mein, and combinations of a few dishes like shrimp & asparagus, velvet shrimp, imperial shrimp etc.. We always try and order variety and we are always left satisfied!

So weeeerrrreeee back! I could not stay away for too long. We had to get our fix, and boy are we happy.

Man went here for lunch ....bill was $13 crazy cheap for 2 adults and quality was excellent ----2 entrees , appetizer and a hot pot of tea...luv it

  • Alvy V.

Good all around and great service but I think it's expensive for the quality and quantity. For the same price u can go to a similar place and get a lot more. When I last got food here I got the general tso's and the sauce was watered down and soupy. Not what I expected since this is my usual order at most Chinese American restaurants. I've made this dish at home too and the sauce is made of such cheap ingredients I don't understand why they would do this. Just feel like cut corners for profits.

  • Eric M.

The food was pretty good but the portions were rather small. The staff was friendly and attentive.

This is the first Chinese food that I have actually liked in aurora. Chinese food is very good super authentic! The owners are very nice and are most of the time there. I normally order sesame chicken, chicken fried rice, beef lo mein, and cheese wontons and egg rolls. very good portion sizes I normally pay about $30 for all that food! I recommend you getting take out you get more food. If you go on a weekend expect to wait for a table. Takeout normally take about 15-20 mins so call and place a order if u don't want to wait. The only bad thing is they don't deliver.

Really? This is our third time trying this place but the only reason we keep going is because it is the closest Chinese Restaurant to my boyfriend's house. We ordered take out for lunch today: Egg Drop Soup, Hot and Sour Soup, Sesame Chicken and Hurricane Combo. The Egg Drop Soup had tomatoes in them, which is odd. I've ever seen that before! Due to the tomatoes, the soup wasn't thick enough and very watery. On the other hand the Hot and Sour Soup had a distinctive smell that was very unappetizing. I can't quite explain what it is but it smells sort of like old wet rug. Now, Sesame Chicken was also disappointing. It was very tough and very very sweet. It actually tasted like Honey Chicken. Lastly, the Hurricane Combo wasn't bad but again, it was sweet. It wasn't as sweet as the Sesame Chicken but sweet enough for me to give this place a 1.5 out of 5. The people were really friendly and nice so I feel bad giving such bad review but it is all about the food when it comes to restaurant reviews.

  • Bee Ling W.

My son's favorite Chinese restaurant. It's not the best Chinese food but when I don't want to cook or my son wants a treat we eat here. The staff are friendly and the fried rice is pretty good. It's our comfort food restaurant.

  • Hilary T.

I do not understand how this place is always packed and has 4 stars. Food is not authentic AT ALL. Bland and boring about sums it up. The actual physical restaurant is outdated and bland and boring as The food. The service sucks. I LOVE Chinese food and this was a sad sad attempt at decent Chinese. Would not eat here again.

    (2)
  • Wei F.

The attitude of the waitress are abominable. They asked for tips before we ordering anything!

    (1)
  • Ryan S.

I ordered take out from them and it was awful! The beef and broccoli they gave me had one piece of beef in it. Plus, it was practically drowning in water. I also ordered the shrimp fried rice, which I assume would be difficult to get wrong but guess what?? The rice was bland and the shrimp was obviously old. I'm completely disappointed and will never order from them again.

  • Natalie S.

East cafe is my favorite Chinese restaurant around. I got the lunch special which included soup or salad, an appetizer, entree and free tea to top it off. I was very satisfied with the portions, taste, service and price. I continue to recommend it to friends and they all left as satisfied as me!

    (5)
  • Joe S.

I moved away but whenever I'm in town I always come here. Food is excellent, a great value, ambiance is nice, and the staff is the best! They remember me even years after I've been gone

  • Min Jae K.

Dropped in here because some friends recommended it. Ordered orange chicken and it tasted pretty good. Customer service was pretty good. However, hot and sour soup was very mild and not very sour. But overall, I would recommend eating here.

  • Molly B.

I would give this place 5stars. The food is consistent. We usually leave happy and full. However, the owner really pissed me off. The restaurant is filthy dirty. The table and chairs are coated with grime. YUCK! It really is disgusting. The top of the soy sauce bottle looks like it has never been washed. I went to get the owner to show him the dirt that is on the table and chairs etc...... He was sitting down in the waiting area and I asked him to come to our table. He said quote "I'm too tired to get up. What do you need". At that point we walked out. Obviously he doesn't care what his customer think. He has owned the east cafe for 30+ years and he must be "tired". He really should step back and look at details of his place. Close the place down for a week and do deep cleaning. Update the decor a bit. It really makes me wonder what his kitchen looks like.....gross! We will NOT be back!

  • Wes L.

This is a great place to eat. The location is kind of bad, but the food makes up for it. The hot & sour soup is great! The service is quick, the food is good. The only problem is when you get takeout, they short you on rice. I don't know why, but we always seem to have extra rice when we dine in and seem to be short quite a bit when we take out. I've mentioned it to the staff several times, but they will sell you extra rice. Fix the takeout rice situation, and I'll give it the 5th star right away!

  • Mikey P.

To be honest. I wouldn't call this authentic Chinese food. But that doesn't mean it can't be good. I really enjoy their lunch specials since they include an egg roll cheese wonton soup and soda. The volcano shrimp is my favorite. I wouldn't recommend carry out though since my heavenly shrimp was more heavenly vegetables than shrimp

  • heather m.

This is the absolute the worst food I have even eaten. The appitizer that comes with the lunch was a chicken wing one and a egg ish roll. The food was sub par at best. Will never go back. I brought a take home dish for my hubs and he was even less impressed. The egg drop soup had bits of bamboo shoot and carrot. Very gross

  • Allison S.

I know people who drive across town for this place. The food is excellent. Not the same old when it comes to Chinese food

  • Pilar D.

This place was as awesome as it was in high school a few (lot of) years ago! As always, we went for the lunch special which came with soup and egg roll for appetizers, and then rice and a dish for the entree. Unlike most places, they have an extensive lunch special menu. I feel like at other places, it's just sweet and sour chicken and a few more other common Chinese dishes. Not at East Cafe! They have seafood, chicken, beef, and veggie sections on their lunch special. The food is consistently good. The restaurant always looks and feels clean. The service is also great. This is a solid, neighborhood Chinese restaurant for the family. The fact that they are still around after more than two decades and have seen kids from the local community grow up are testaments to how good and solid they are.

  • Aisha H.

I really really love this place it's the best Chinese food I have had! My friend and I ate there today and our food was awesome! And the bill for 1 soda, 2 entrees, 2 apps with soups included came it to $23!

    Best chinese food in Colorado

    (5)
  • Patrick K.

Moved to Colorado from Washington State where Chinese food is on every corner. This place shocked me. Not the fanciest looking place but delicious and very reasonable. The honey shrimp was to die for!

    (5)
  • Mike D.

okay, the people were nice and friendly, but my problems are strictly with the food. ordered a sesame chicken, and chicken fried rice with egg rolls. the sesame chicken was a bit tough, very ugly pieces put into this dish, along with it being over battered to conceal this also it had come with a dry noodle (I'm very accustom to rice with this dish) and the portion was very small for the price the container was about half full. and the sauce was rather flat tasting. the chicken fried rice again very small portion, and very oily. would I give them another shot? yes, almost every place deserves a 2nd chance but you have been warned.

Been visiting the East Cafe since I was little and there is a reason it has been around so long! Delicious, traditional Chinese food for a great price. The atmosphere is inviting to singles, couples and families alike and is always full of customers. The Salmon Fried Rice, Combination Hurricane, Sesame Chicken and Hot and Sour soup are just a few of my faves from the menu. The staff is warm and accommodating too. I will definitely be coming back here many, many more times in the future!

  • Karie W.

So was my first time going to this place. I picked it because a lot of people had said it was good. So I order one of there beef Mongolian dish with fried rice and egg roll. At the time of ratting the food was good. But six hours later I have food poison from eating there. Now in the hotel having to stay another night because I can not keep anything down at all. I just wanted to say to them thank you and I will not be eating from them again. Good luck to all if you have beef here.

    (1)
  • Jaylin S.

Blah. The cold vegetables in a far too salty white sauce were not appetizing in appearance or flavor. I would not try this again and I probably won't dine here again since that is the only vegan option. I was willing to look past the duct taped seats, dingy feel, and outdated decor- sometimes the best food is served in these joints. That's simply not the case here.

    (1)
  • Soupany S.

Service is always prompt. My favorite dish is Hunan beef, this is the only place that I like Hunan beef, they make it crispy. Their hot and sour soup is also one of the best.

    (5)
  • Laura C.

Great Chinese food at a great price. The hot and sour soup is the best I have ever tasted. Every meal is served with complimentary hot tea. I love the Wonton hot combo and the Hurricane combo. They do spicy just right! We have frequented this place for years!

    (5)
  • Marjo M.

This place is amazing! They have great Chinese food at amazing prices. Yes the sodas are a bit pricey especially when the glass is so small but if you mind drinking water go for it. I seriously love everything about this place except for two things 1. the staff can be a bit bitchy and 1.the decor... Or should I say the lack there of. But understandably with the prices as low as they have it regardless if it's always jampacked I'm pretty sure that they cannot afford to redecorate which is very much needed...

East Cafe is a family tradition for us. We've been going to East Cafe for more than 20 years, and I can't think of a time we had a bad meal. Love the vinegary chicken salad and hurricane chicken. Only complaint is wish the owner would open a restaurant in the Southlands - only thing preventing me from eating here every month rather than on special occasions.

    (5)
  • Cool H.

Extremely good food. I take my family here every time I fly into town. Great food, reasonable prices, and friendly folks. I have been here many times.

  • Chelle T.

I used to be quite fond of East Cafe. It was always a go-to spot for a quick lunch or dinner after shopping or running errands. However, based on my experience last night, I have to agree with the other reviewers who stated that the quality has really slipped. Let me be clear. My expectations are in line for a restaurant that charges on average $9 for a dinner entree. I'm not holding it up to unreasonable standards. My Hurricane Chicken was extremely bland and flavorless. My mom's sweet and sour shrimp was gummy and oversauced. I was also annoyed to find pork dumplings on my plate when I'd specifically ordered veggie. Sigh. The portions are nice for the price. I'm also glad they added brown rice as an option. I think I'm going to give East Cafe a rest for a good long while...too many other options out there.

  • Heather T.

Usually I'm not thrilled to go to the Denver area for work but the saving grace is always the chance to try a new restaurant. About half a mile from where I was at is the East Cafe. The outside is all brick and no windows and looks like a total dive. Sign me up! The best food often times comes from the least expected places. The inside is clean and the host was really nice. He patiently explained the most popular dishes. I was looking for something on the spicy side and settled on the hurricane shrimp. The shrimp was very nicely cooked but I could have used more veggies and more heat. The sauce was really good and I used the brown rice to soak it all up. Because I couldn't narrow it down to just one dish, I also ordered the smoked salmon fried rice. I thought it might be too salty with the smoked salmon but it was the perfect amount of salty and rich with the salmon. I love veggies so could have used more veggies in this dish. Overall, the fried rice was fantastic and I'd probably order that next time. A great find!

  • M S.

My go-to place for unpretentious, excellent Chinese food. Take-out favorites include the shrimp egg foo-young, chicken with black bean sauce, Singapore noodles, sesame chicken, mongolian beef, combo lo-mein, orange chicken (with real orange rinds!), wor wonton soup - just couldn't get enough! The mango chicken, egg rolls, happy family are ok. The ingredients taste fresh, though some food items can be on the edge of being (too) greasy. However, you won't feel dehydrated hours later because of salt or monosodium glutamate. Food is very consistent after going here many times - they only missed once, I think someone in the kitchen reused cooking oil. Take-out food takes about 15-20 minutes. If dining here, the service is usually fast, and they have booths for relative privacy. I like their super-affordable lunch menu, and the serving size is just right. Just be warned - the place somewhat lacks personality, but hey - you want good Chinese food ASAP right? They don't dabble in trendy stuff here. The location's somewhat shady, but I think it keeps their cost down, and you get ample parking!

  • Michael P.

I love great Chinese Food which Denver has several good places: The Imperial, P.F Changs...but this place is the best in the Denver metro area. East Cafe has a vast menu that is prepared well and always served with care. Try the best Hot and Sour soup that you can find. Prices are moderate, but well worth the money...

    (5)
  • Erica R.

Always great food at fantastic prices. The best hot and sour soup is right here. The decor could use some work and the staff isn't always the friendliest but their food is excellent. The desserts are not okay. Go out for ice cream after.

  • Cal N.

We have been eating here since coming to Denver/Aurora in 1986. It is a must weekly dining experience. Great food, magnificent service, friendly ambiance and consistently dependable.Recommended dishes: best hot and sour soup ever, combo in garlic sauce, Hunan Beef and General's Chicken. I wish they'd bring Mongolian Two Delights back to the menu. Last time I had the Hunan Beef whch was tender, spicy and (always) an ample serving.

Seriously, the BEST Chinese food I have ever had. No comparison. I will eat here again and again!

    (5)
  • Dale Z.

Lunch specials are reasonably priced. You get a fair amount of food for your money. I enjoyed the wontons and thought the eggrolls were okay. The beef dish I had (How You Beef: w/ asparagus, bamboo shoots, and scallioins) was not especially flavorful, but was a good portion size. The hot and sour soup had a metallic tang to it on my first couple spoonfuls. I used to come here for the Singapore noodles (they were really good). However, they are not a lunch special item. I should have ordered those on my most recent visit.

First started going here 20 some odd years ago. My goto place for Kung Pao shrimp. Would highly recommend trying it. Havent had it in years because shrimp gives me gout. today had the heavenly chicken, fried rice and egg drop soup. They also give you a cheese wonton and egg roll. Service is excellent, food hot and fresh and hot tea was steaming as usual. All this With a 30% tip was still under $9.00.

    (5)
  • Serena R.

Went here based on Yelp reviews. Prices are low, and the quality was overall alright. My husband got Lo Men, which was very good. Crab Wontons were awesome. My orange chicken was meh. Had multiple servers, who were all very brusque. Seemed to almost have a fast food approach to their food.

    (3)
  • Amy V.

This is the best Chinese food in the metro area and, actually better than we have found anywhere else either. The lunch special is our favorite. As long as you order before 4pm, you get an entree, 2 piece appetizer, plus soup or salad, and hot tea all for under $6. I always get the salad, which has an amazing dressing on it, and my husband always gets the hot and sour soup. My favorite entree is the Genera's Chicken. Something about the sauce is just better than anyone else ever makes it. My husband's favorite is the Kung Pao Chicken or the Beef Po Ho. Our favorite server is Tracy. We have been going to East Cafe for 12 years now and she always remembers our order with zero mistakes. In fact, we hadn't come in for a while and she STILL remembered what we always get. The owners are very friendly and the place is always packed. Ask anyone in Aurora and they will tell you East Cafe is the place to go!

Delicious food and very reasonable prices. My friends and I had a really nice lunch there today and I enjoyed the whole experience. The location isn't great but they get a lot of business and I can see why.

We love this place and they are extremely affordable! They don't deliver, but the carry out option is always ready in a timely manner.

  • S C.

Food is just "meh". Tip is included with only 5 people, which to me meant she didn't have to work for a tip. Our over-priced beverages were not refilled quickly (Why should they? Tip was included!) And everything was just sort of shoved on our table.

  • Jessica J.

Chicken and asparagus was great. Pan fried noodles were were also pretty good. The proportions size is huge, the leftovers look like another full meal.

Best place my friend has introduced me to...The pork Po Ho is great. Service is great here. Prices are unbeatable and food comes out super quick

  • Jayce T.

A friend took me here for lunch today, and I thoroughly enjoyed this place. While you'll recognize the names of items on the menu, they are not your normal Americanized Chinese dishes. I ordered the Sesame Shrimp with fried rice... the right level of spiciness, and delicious. The lunch included salad or soup. I had the hot and sour soup... delicious. The best I think I've had. The decor is traditional Chinese restaurant... so nothing to write home about, but the service was great... fast, attentive, and unobtrusive.

Growing up on the south side of the Metro area, I thought all Chinese food was the same Colorado. Then my boyfriend introduced me to this place. HOLY CRAP. I could eat here everyday and not break the bank. I've been going here for almost 3 years and I refuse to eat Chinese anywhere else. You can tell the food is cooked fresh to order and that the sauces are homemade because they don't become a blob once they've set on the plate for five minutes. You also can't beat the prices. They offer lunch all week for $6-$8 that includes daily appetizer, soup and your choice of entree. Dinner is maybe $1 or $2 more. I have to say, I have an affair with their egg rolls every time I go in. Just writing about them now is making my mouth water. The place itself looks like total dive from the outside and you are technically in the "hood", but don't let that dissuade you from venturing here. The inside is ALWAYS clean and the decor is cute. The staff is ALWAYS friendly and accommodating. I love the food here, I have yet to try something I don't like. I usually go for the Combo Hurricane that has thinly sliced beef, chicken and shrimp in a spicy brown soy sauce with mixed veggies (carrots, snap peas, zucchini, water chesnuts, bamboo shoots, broccoli). At lunch, I skip the rice and get extra veggies for $1 more because they are that fantastic in this dish. My mouth is watering again! Unlike Panda Express or the place that it's in the strip mall down the street, you will NOT leave here feeling like a panda or a 400 pound circus bear. Again, that comes from the fresh cooking. Word to the wise: Since this place is fairly priced, the elderly crowd likes to dine here. So if you like spicy food, regardless if the menu says it's hot, order it extra spicy otherwise you'll just get a hint of spice.

Love this place! Their lunch menu is such a great value and just the right amount of food. Their egg drop soup is the best I've found in the Denver metro area. Love their sesame chicken.

Is this not absolutely the best, most fantastic, incredibly delicious, breathtakingly scrumptious Chinese restaurant you'll ever visit!?! No. But it's A-OK, and there are a couple of things that stand out. First, the folks are very nice. Second, the wonton soup was actually surprisingly good, with large chuncks of chicken and pork, accompanying freshly made and folded wonton. (That's not something I usually order, but I was with a fan of it last night and the "small" pot they bring serves at least 2). Third, nothing was bad, and that included the pork spare ribs and mu shoo pork, expertly rolled by the sweetie of a server. Tea was hot, and my fortune was good. ("You will soon receive happy financial news." (Too bad it wasn't "A pro golfer's wife will soon need a place to stay, and she will choose you.") (just kidding, honey)). All-in-all, a good neighborhood spot. Some place special to drive out of the way for . . .? Again, no. But if ya got a hankering for some Chinese and you're out Aurora-way, this restaurant would be a good choice.

I have been a regular customer of East Cafe since the mid 90s; it is my favorite Chinese restaurant in Aurora. The wait staff is always friendly and prompt, as is the mangement/owners. Prices are very reasonable and they offer lunch and dinner specials. It is a small restaurant, but I find it cozy. It is always clean and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The location is somewhat dicey, but that doesn't deter me from this restaurant.

I rarely come here for dinner, but often for lunch. This place just gets it right. Service is lightning fast due to having lots of things (soups, appetizers, etc) standard. The quality of the meets is good and you really can't beat it for the price. It's almost always full, which is usually a good sign in restaurants.

I have been going here since I was a child. The food was so amazing for years. But as of late it's been extremely hit or miss. Some days are good some aren't.

Pretty good food, good prices. Ok service. Gotten several awards for best chinese, or establishment, etc. They have a lunch special that comes with rice, entree, and eggroll and chicken wing appitizer. Not sure why you get a chicken wing, but hey its food. My fav is sesame chicken. They only issues we have had were limited drink refills on sodas, they aren't big on doing substitutions or additions to dishes, and no delivery!!! Get Delivery SOON,

If you would have asked me about this place two weeks ago, I would have said it was one of the best Chinese restaurants Ive eaten at. Now though i would say its OK, theres better. Don't get me wrong I'll for sure go back, for at least their great lunch menu. The service was a tad bit slow for me, but it was busy. I ordered the "Beef hurricane (HOT)" which came with two egg rolls, hot and sour soup, and fried rice. The egg rolls were small and average the fried rice as good as any, the beef hurricane was pretty good, up to the end where you could really taste how strong the sauce was, but to my surprise my fav. part of the meal was the hot and sour soup. It was terrific and next time i will get a tub to go. In the end though I would definitely recommend this place.

I just have to give this place a shout-out. I remember the first time I stepped into this restaurant with my family about 15 years ago and every time I go back to Denver to visit (I live in NYC), I make it a must to come eat here! As a New Yorker, we pride ourselves on having some of the best food options at our fingertips, but I can definitely say no other Chinese place I've had out here can compare to East Cafe in Aurora. The Mongolian Beef is my favorite dish and if you come for lunch and get the salad as an appetizer instead of the soup you will be pleasantly surprised by the delicious taste of the dressing. Sesame Chicken comes in at a close second!

Great service, cheap food and good food. Love the hunan beef, the beef po hou, the hot and sour soup and the wontons and dumplings. Two people can have a very filling lunch here for about $20. No joke. Been coming here for years. Very reliable Chinese joint. If I could change anything, I wish it was closer to where I live so I could grab take-out more often for dinner.

A local resident first brought me here a couple of years ago, and we've made it a regular stop when we visit Denver when we are wanting some good Chinese food at a great price. I'd say the average meal is priced at around $8! Pretty hard to beat that! I love the hurricane beef, sesame chicken, and lemon chicken--not that crazy about egg foo yung but that was the only thing I've tried and did not like. Service has always been good and they are very accommodating. Atmosphere is just ok, nothing great but nothing bad. Just check it out if you want good food, good service and good prices!

East Cafe has been around for at least 20 years and it has not changed except for the new chairs and no smoking. Same great food & great prices. It's a local Chinese dive - the ambiance is not spectacular and they don't have a bar but you can get a satisfying lunch for less than $7 and dinner for less than $10. I always get the sesame shrimp although I recently tried the Chicken wrap (also comes in beef or combo). It comes with a neat table side presentation and tastes great. It's like a Chinese burrito with no beans of course. I LOVE this place and hope they don't change it for another 20 years. I have them on speed dial and you can pick up take out in about 12 minutes. HIGHLY recommended.

In a fight between East Cafe and three stars, East Cafe loses. After viewing that it had 16 reviews and a 4 1/2 star average, we thought 'can't go wrong,' right? No, wrong. The food here was not even average.....the dumplings, tough on the outside, sesame chicken was dry and NOT spicy, as the menu indicated. The chicken chow mein was gross w/ hardly any noodles and a gelatinous sauce. Does this sound like your kind of place? If so, come on down! For me, however, it left such a bad impression that I threw away the take away menu I took home, as there's no need for it!

I'm probably here once a month or so since it's literally blocks away from my office. They have a fantastic lunch service that is quick, efficient, and an incredible value for the money. If you go with at least one other person, order the family lunch (you get your own plate so it's not shared anyway) and soup/salad, your selection of appetizer, your choice of entree from the menu, and a drink are all included for about $7-8 a person! The food is very good and my personal favorite is the asparagus chicken (served with a black bean sauce). I mix it up sometimes with the Hurricane Beef, Curry Chicken, or Mongolian Beef but it's all pretty good. I remember seeing some "best of Aurora" awards up on their walls for past years, so agree that's it's unusual they haven't had more reviews. Well recommended.

One of the best chineese places I have been to. Food is always good, no matter what you order. Sometimes services is slower than others but then again where is this not an issue. I love this place!

Lunch. The best lunch value you will find ! For about six dollars, you get your choice of a lunch-sized entree with rice, soup or salad and a tasty egg roll and a chicken wing with sauces. And tea. Why go grab a stinking hamburger when you have this opportunity? A sit- down lunch in a nice little restaurant...for six bucks !!!! And the food is good !

I came here for lunch once last year and it was amazing. I came back a few days ago for a take out order and my food was horrid. It tasted like everything was spoiled and a dirty rag ran over it. I was about to vomit. I didn't call them to complain and just threw it out. Will not come back here again.

Went here with three buddies. Ordered the pork lo mein and was expecting thin yellow noddles. Instead I got some thicker looking rice noodles. The food itself was not half bad. Maybe a little too heavy on the peppers for my preference. But, the service was very speedy. Price was decent too. Kind of weird the restaurant has no windows for you to peek into the location. Did not know what to expect walking in. All in all, an average experience.

This is the best Chinese restaurant ever! My family has been eating here since 1984 and it hasn't changed in the least. East Cafe has got to be the best ever and it shows, what with all the awards they win year after year. I cannot even think of any other Chinese restaurant that even compares! East Cafe is in a league of it's own!

I love East Cafe! My family has been going there since the early 90's or so and we all continue to love it! Has really good prices, good wait time and AMAZING food! I compare all other chinese food places to East Cafe and so far I haven't tried any other restaurants that compares. I actually drive from Thornton down to Aurora just to go there! Yum!

I was surprised that this popular restaurant has no reviews. East Cafe's menu is set up a little differently, but they have good food and the reason I give them five stars is their service. It is outstanding. You will be treated very well by the wait staff there. The only thing I wish they had was delivery, but then I would eat there way too often.

Love the sizzling rice soup - ask for it - it's not on the menu. Everything is verg good. You can't go wrong!!

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
