Very poor service, been going to this place for years with hope that it will change. No Change! Food is good, not worth the treatment. Ordered delivery and portion of order was missing, promised a credit twice but received Zero Zilch NADA! Very disappointing to a loyal customer! Had to drive at 1025 pm with young baby to get my $$ back ... Defeats the purpose of delivery. Check your order before the driver leaves!

There is a huge variety to the menu. Personally, I think that any establishment should focus on perfecting the basic essentials before creating such a large, mediocre menu. Seems like a lot of people like this place, but its just not for me.

We ordered 3 entrees and sides for delivery around a week ago, and wow I wish we'd stuck with our standby local delivery picks. The Pad Thai (maybe I should have known better than to try Thai here) wasn't edible by me OR my husband, and neither of us are picky about it. I enjoy it with browner sauces or red ones but NOT pink as this was. What sauce was that - ketchup?? Either way, there was nothing enjoyable about our dinner even with all the different food options we ordered. I later tried to salvage the leftovers with our own fish sauce, but when the Pad Thai touched the pan the odor in the house was unbearable. Shockingly bad.

This place is an Aurora staple! If you want some inexpensive Chinese food that is good, just stop by and get some grub! I am sure (know) that their staff deals with some relatively challenging people at times, so they seem to have a wall up when dealing with customers. If they (the cashiers) were more pleasant, I am sure they would get more business. Their customer experience is seriously lacking - but I take it for what it is. I order ahead of time and go pick up my food and leave. I keep it simple!

My favorite take-out joint. I like the food here and the counter help seems pretty friendly to me. Great place for picking up dinner on the way home from work.

Ordered two entrees and crab and cheese wontons. An hour later, entrees arrive, no wontons. Call and tell them. "Well, what do you want?", they say. I want the wontons. "They will be delivered in 20 minutes" One hour later, no wontons. Call again for refund. "We cannot refund your credit card. Have to send driver with cash." Thirty-five minutes later, driver arrives WITH WONTONS! I want my money back. Shoves five bucks at my husband and bag of greasy cold wontons. Two and a half hours to receive the total order and IDIOTS providing "customer service" Never again! Never, never, never, never. Learn your business folks! If you didn't bring everything I paid for, you should be rushing to get it to me.

The hubby and I ordered from China Chef express for the first time tonight and if I have my way, it will be the last. Orange chicken was overdone and had large pieces of cartilage. My spring rolls were apparently shrimp spring rolls (menu should really make this clear...) and my chicken fried rice was... BBQ pork, shrimp, chicken fried rice. Seriously? I HATE SHRIMP. Thank the gods I had leftover pizza in the fridge.

Great Kung Pao chicken and wontons!!! If you dine in the portions are huge and it's quite convenient to get your own to-go box. The place looks small and sketchy but the foods great!!!

Husband and I come here for Chinese take-out about once a month on average - and have been doing so for the past several years (since living in the area). I will say that there are not many options for good chinese food in the Denver area (I'm from Washington State where options are plentiful) but for chinese take-out, this place hits the spot. We typically will get orders of veggie fried rice (our favorite), Happy Family, Sesame Chicken (my favorite), veggie lo mein and don't forgot the crab cheese wontons! We always pick up ourselves because I know the wait times for delivery is usually an hour plus and since we live within 5 minutes, its just easier to pick up. I hear bad reviews based on delivery times .... so skip delivery and get it yourself. Your experience will be so much better.

So we ordered dinner to go tonight...didn't think to check the food to make sure the order was correct (because people usually only have to do that at Burger King) so that was our fault... However we get home and realize that they gave us pork fried rice after we asked for steamed rice. My daughter is allergic to the onions that are in the rice which is the reason we ALWAYS ask for white rice wherever we go. We get home (20 mins later) and call them to see if there's anything they can do to compensate for THEIR mistake....their response "we are closing, you can bring the food in tomorrow and we'll switch the rice out" Wow...wrong on so many levels. Anybody in their right mind can come up with at least 3 reasons why that was a terrible response! Won't be eating here again. There's another location on Peoria and 6th.

Wow, I can't even describe the shittiness that is this place, how it's still in business is beyond me....The egg drop soup had 2 gnats, fucking BUGS in it!!!!!!! And I ate like 10 bites before a saw it...OMFG!!!!! Also their food is complete shit and they gave me the wrong order that I drove to get. When I got home and saw the dish was wrong I asked that they deliver me the right one. Not only was the dish wrong, I asked for them to be extra spicy and they tasted like paper. They refused to bring me the right ones and said I could come all the way back to exchange them. WORST food AND customer service I have ever experienced in my life. I really hope everyone will read this review before coming here. Please save yourself.

They've got a very full menu. Lots to choose from. Prices are very reasonable. I really like the lo mein. The sesame chicken doesn't have much in terms of veggies, which was disappointing. Their sweet and sour is top notch, the crab and cheese wantons a little heavy on extra dough but still good. Problems: -The white rice was very mediocre. -No veggies with the sesame chicken??! What a bore.

I was craving Chinese food very bad and wanted to try a new place. I read the reviews for China Chef Express, and most were good reviews. Their online menu prices need to be updated as they are a little more now. I placed an order and they called to tell me it'd actually be six dollars more after online ordering, no biggie. But the food it's not horrible but it's not good either. My girlfriend and I has the egg drop soup and threw it out fast. The rest of it wasn't bad but didn't have much flavor. Cheap prices though so I guess you kinda get what you pay for.

Enjoyed this place for a long time, when I lived near enough to come get the food myself. Trying to place a delivery order with them is an exercise in bad attitude that I can't abide anymore, it used to be one particular girl giving bad service, now it's everyone who answers the phone. They don't know basics about the surrounding area, even seemingly 1 major street up, I gave them my cross street as Alameda and Havana (insanely close to them) and they seemed absolutely baffled as to how far it was from their location. They began a side conference between people there as to who would go out to make the delivery, only to have it end with them refusing delivery altogether because I was "too far" away. According to Google maps i'm less than 3 miles from their listed address, so I have no idea what their problem is, I just don't intend to deal with it again.

My absolute favorite. I've been to many cities wanting TRUE FRIED RICE as a complement to my main entree in a combination plate, and have NEVER found it. This is the only place that will add egg, onion, bean sprouts, etc. into your side of rice with your combo (none of that white rice with a touch of soy sauce mess you see at other places). Sweet and Soure Chicken, Lo'Mein, Sesame Chicken, Won Ton Soup...you name it, its good! I LOVE this place and for the price, gluttony will remain (just kidding).

Bad food and worse service. I ordered Kung Pao chicken right before work. I was given king Pao beef. When I called and explained that I was already working and requested my proper food be brought they told me all I could do is drive back to have it replaced. I live less than a mile away but could not leave home due to work. I ended up having my girlfriend have to drive their mistake back to them for a refund in which they attempted to try to remake the order without even asking what she wanted. Obviously will never be ordering from here again....

I had a bunch of people over and we didn't really want delivery pizza, so we decided to try Chinese. It was a very good decision. The food wasn't five star sit down quality, but it was exceptionally good for delivery food. The price was right, it arrived quickly, it was packaged well, and it contained exactly what we ordered (5 entrees). It averaged $9 per plate and there were lots of leftovers. One warning: we like hot food (New Mexico hot) but even so, the jalapeño beef was a bit over the top. The Szechuan beef was just right, picante-wise. Next time someone suggests pizza around here I'll mention these guys instead for a healthier alternative.

Had the worst experience of my life at this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby and I have ordered from China Chef many times. I believe we average once every 2-3 months ordering takeout. (Note: We have NEVER eaten there.) I place my order (we'll call her Caller #1). There was emphasis on a particular item. Caller #1 states item will cost extra. I advised that was no problem. Caller #1 advised it will be 35 minutes - 1 hour for delivery. Caller #1 hangs up before repeating my order back to me. *****PROBLEM #1 ******* An hour passes. Food is not delivered.******* PROBLEM #2 ****** I call back after 1 hour and 6 minutes. Sounds like a different caller so we'll call her Caller #2. Tells me driver left 5 minutes ago. Food is delivered. About to plate the family's food and I notice I'm missing the aforementioned particular item. ********* PROBLEM #3*********. Again, I call back. Sounds like Caller #2. Advised my item was missing. Caller #2 tells me to hold on but she doesn't place me on mute. I can hear her asking someone about my order with an attitude. *********** PROBLEM #4 *********. Caller #2 comes back and firmly tries to tell me I NEVER ordered the particular item. ********* PROBLEM #5 ************. I'm furious at this point especially because I had an in depth conversation with Caller #1 about food item. I asked to speak to a manager. Manager comes on line. Doesn't say her name. *********** PROBLEM #6 ***********. I advise her of my issue which is China Chef forgot an item in my food delivery. She must have told me about three times I wasn't charged for the item. Seriously....that's not my issue and she wasn't even trying to hear me. ******* PROBLEM #7 *********. I told Manager very firmly she needed to deliver my missing item. Manager hangs up on me. ************PROBLEM #8 ***************. I pack up all the food and hubby & I drive to China Chef. Place is about 17 minutes away. My game plan is strictly to confront "The Manager" and get a refund. Manager is on phone being syrupy sweet with a customer which totally irritated me because she offered no customer service to me. Manager gets off the phone and immediately tells me "I am just going to issue you a refund because I don't want to deal with you." WHAT WHAT WHAT!!!!!!!! ************* PROBLEM #9 ********. I ask Manager it's ridiculous she would not even try to hear my concerns and doesn't even care about true customer service. Manager feels like everything is my fault because her account of the story is "I yelled at her." We went back and forth and she refunded my credit card. Told me to leave her establishment. No problem....but I needed some information first. I asked for Manager's name. She would not give it to me. ******* PROBLEM #10 ********. I asked her boss' name. She would not give it to me. ********** PROBLEM #11 ********. I asked for the owner's name. She would not give it to me. ********* PROBLEM #12 *************. I asked for the owner's phone number. She points to the window. *********** PROBLEM #13 **************. I guess I should have just walked out and parted ways forever. However, I need to make sure my credit card was refunded appropriately. Owner was supposed to call me but that NEVER happened. I'll admit, their food is good but it was never "consistently" good. So sprinkle some horrible customer service with that and I will not be going to China Chef ever again.

I come here because of their prices, their food and the fact that they have vegetarian options that actually taste good. Its hard to find a vegetarian meat place for friends without going downtown. Their service isn't great at all and the place is pretty awful looking but if you ignore all of that and just want cheap chinese food that is actually good, then this place works.

Pretty good food, a little greasy. Crab cheese wantons at a great price and tasted good. Good vegetarian menu. The Kung Pow mock beef was delicious, and mildly spicy. Awesome portions, and overall nice prices. I had take out, so customer service experience was limited, but pleasant. We have been wary of Chinese restaurants, finding ones we will return to are rare, but this one turned out pretty good.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
