Casa Vallarta Mexican Restaurant Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I am writing this review strictly for the short changed and hungry. With that said, I must recommend the Mexican pizza. This pizza is not your run of the meal Taco Bell Mexican pizza (being that they must have invented it). This Mexican pizza has been perfected by MEXICANS! Love it! It is listed as an appetizer but can certainly be a meal for two maybe even three. And it is only like 6.95! It is absolutely yummy. Order a happy hour margarita and you are good to go for under 11 bucks!

Yucky food, icky drinks, tasteless crowd, top it off with karaoke and what do you have? A below average Mexican place that needs some revamping! Ew.

I took a friend visiting from Washington DC to Casa Vallarta to try to satisfy her itch for some decent Mexican. I was surprised by how large this place is! Really spacious, accomodating a huge party in the dining room and another on the patio. Karaoke blasting from the bar on Friday night. Note: you can only get Happy Hour specials in the bar. But according to our server, you are only saving a quarter on beers and a buck on margaritas. Still, I never really understood why restaurants have this policy about only serving "special happy hour prices" in the bar and forbidding their patrons in the dining room from capitalizing on the same specials that are five steps away. We were hungry and wanted a drink and so we weren't going to fight it. This is a huge menu but they have all of your favorites. A couple of nice, little differences: they start you off with two different salsas and chips; a thin, chipotle sauce and a cabbage-based pico. And we finished off our combo meals with complimentary sopapillas. Unfortunately, I wish our server would have waited until we were finished eating our meals before she dropped these off because the whipped cream on them just ended up melting before we were able to get to them. My combo of a beef enchilada, crispy relleno and taco was your standard, Colorado smothered mild Co-Mex. It's a-ok.

Went here with several members of my family while we were visiting Denver. When we asked the family where is some good mexican food....no one could come up with answer. Guess, mexican food that is recommendable in Denver is hard to come by. We ended up here. 4 people didn't care for their meal (including me), 2 people were like "mheh" I had their Tacos Carbon. The Taco's come open faced . You can fold them like a taco becuase they load the tortilla with so much crap you can't fold it....oh and the fact that it's so greasy, I got zits just looking at it. Best part of the meal was the toothpick at the end.

Casa Vallarta has taken the place as my go-to Mexican restaurant in the SE metro area. While all the menu items result in favorable reviews from friends, it's the pork carnitas that keeps me coming back for more. Not only is the portion (and plate) size larger than most other places, but the flavor is spot-on when it comes to the dish. Kids, this isn't the usual "roasted pork" dish... the flavor of their pork carnitas is reason to order the dish time and time again.

4-5 stars? The only thing that I heard was good there were the wings. I didn't eat any so, I can't say. All I know is what I experienced didn't even come close to "good." I did like the chips, but how can you mess those up? The "salsa" was bland, and hot (ick), The red sauce I have on idea what it was?? We ordered the Camerones (shrimp) A La Diabla. Why would you serve food on a plate that is the size of a sombrero? Specially on the small round tables? It took forever which I don't understand because Casa Bonita dishes out the same quality food much faster. The beans were rubbery, bland and seemed old. This is a Mexican restaurant, right? The rice was ok, but I didn't eat it The shrimp was good, but the sauce had mushrooms in it. Everyone knows that Mexican's don't eat mushrooms (muy loco), and I don't know anyone who eats them with seafood. Oh, yes it gets worse, they are definitely from a can!! The service, oh my goodness. The server told me that their green chili was made with green tomatillos to make the sauce green. What? No, sir that is what the chilis are for. He didn't like me after I educated him on that. In fact, our table remained with everything on it until we left. No refills on soda or water. Oh and the Karaoke. Can you say loud and horrible? Scary people dressed in their 80's attire and 80's hair. With old fat men as the audience. ewwwww The only thing that is keeping them busy is the free food for happy hour, although that doesn't even tempt me to want to return. Gross.

I've now been to this location six to eight times now, and have had good experiences as well as bad. Reminds me of what Forest Gump once said about boxed chocolate, so let me begin with the good. Every time I've ordered the carne asada, it's been really good. Succulent, well-seasoned and fresh, but the sides are bland. Pico is alright apart from the fact that they don't seem to core their tomatoes, while the Salsa is also so-so, and certainly not what you'd expect at an "authentic" Mexican joint. I would guess it's probably out of a can. The chicken dishes are nothing special and fall into the category of getting what you pay for. After all, what can you really expect for $9 (tacos) or $12.95 (fajitas). Among the more disappointing dishes I've tried were the Caldo de Camoron and Sopa De Tortillas. For the first I was hoping for something similar to a great ceviche I used to get in Tucson. This dish was a total disappointment, however, punctuated by a selection of raw camarones, with mud vein thrown in as a bonus. I was able to eat about 1/3 of this and threw the rest out. The sopa de tortillas was ordered on my most recent August visit for a weekday lunch. This is a dish I've had from dozens of different places throughout the SW and Mexico, and I am sad to say it was the worst I've ever had. The portion size was enormous, but lacked anything close to freshness. For a sopa such as this distinction of flavor is key, but the serving I had tasted like blended mush. The service, while usually passable, was totally non-existent on this visit, with the server disappearing for 30+ minuets after bringing the food to the table. No refills of either chips and salsa or soda, and I eventually had to just go to the register and pay the bill there. As a result of the inconsistency and poor value I don't see myself returning anytime soon.

Casa Vallarta is our favorite Mexican Restaurant in this area. The food is always hot and good and the speed of service is exceptional, I've never been to a restaurant that gets the food to the table faster than Casa Vallarta. My favorite dish is the Chicken Expresso Burrito. I usually eat half and take the other half home for later! At the end of the meal, they bring out a small sopapilla dessert for each guest. Nice way to finish a meal. I'd probably give them a FIVE, but the last time we were here, I noticed that the dining room could use a good cleaning.

Good food - fun place, no doubt, but please - please fix the karaoke setup. Somehow they have the thing playing at a faster tempo than the song(s) call for. I know some programs allow one to adjust the tempo, but keep the pitch. STOP IT! There's no way to sing a song right when you have the tempo half again what it should be.

Awesome Mexican food. Excellent chips, crisp, with just enough salt. The pico and hot salsa's were flavorful and addictive. The Dieta Burrito was D licious!!! Looks like they can smoother everything here and the sauce is tasty. I'm transitioning to vegan so I had it without sour cream or cheese and I didn't miss either in the flavor. Although the food was great our server seemed preoccupied. I ordered whole beans in my two different orders and also asked for rice and beans to go. One of the whole bean orders came out wrong; the exact opposite of what I ordered. My to go order was not whole beans and it had cheese on it. The server grabbed my plate even after I said I wasn't done. The restaurant was very busy (a sign of good food) and the servers were wearing ear pieces (perhaps contributing to the pre occupation). I would recommend this spot regardless and if you are vegan be sure to clarify what you are ordering. If you are looking for good Mexican food in Denver definitely stop by for a sit in.

I won't be returning to this place. We shared the chile con queso for an appetizer and it was good. My husband had a shrimp, chiles and rice plate and I had one beef hardshell taco because I wasn't extremely hungry. We each had a very flavorless margarita. The bill came out to be $46. What a rip-off. I could have had a better beef taco at Taco Bell. I will go to a real Mexican restaurant next time. I'm eager to check out Paxia. It looks authentic and amazing! Mexican food is not just just slapping beans and cheese on a plate. Flavors are authentic and developed...but you won't find that at Casa Vallarta.

Just had lunch, 4 people. One of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to. A little heavy on the road noise outside but a great place. Good service, nice bar.

One of the better Mexican places to eat in Aurora. Large portion sizes and a great bar area. Carne asada and tacos de Rez are great here!

This place ranks right up there for the worst Mexican food I've ever had in Colorado; second only to this horrible place in Pueblo. The service isn't slow, it's practically non-existent. You can't even call what you get here service, it's so bad it's not even service... its s without the ervice. Why anyone would recommend this place is truly beyond me. It's surprisingly big (the interior dining area), I'll give it that. And yes, they have a patio which is real perk if you want a lovely view of... Parker Road? Authentic? I hate it when people call something like this authentic. It annoys me. Yes, the plates are big... but you aren't really getting more for your money here. The prices are pretty high and all they are doing is spreading your food out in a large surface area to create the illusion of mass quantity. When we walked in, there was no one watching the front, so we just stood around for 5 minutes or so waiting for someone to welcome us or something. We weren't quite sure who was in line for a table or what. The only positive I can write after my experience here is that the place was seemingly pretty clean. My food sucked, it was really very flavorless and their salsa is shameful. To eat here and give it any more then 3 stars you must have been living in Colorado for too long. This is the kind of crap I expect to get in a place like Minnesota... or Wisconsin... not Colorado! I had a combination plate with a shredded beef taco (pre-made store bought shell), a chicken enchilada (disgusting red sauce, no cheese inside) and a crispy chile relleno which, was nothing memorable. We saw our waiter a good 15 minutes after sitting down for the first time at which point he took our drink order. We waited another 5 minutes for our drinks. We didn't see him again for another 15 minutes, at which point he took our food order and then we didn't see him again for the entire meal until we complained that we need drinks refills to what I think was the manager. The manager actually brought our refills, and the waiter brought our check shortly there after.

Thank you yelp for this amazing find. Shopping for furniture can make a person tired! This place is in like a furniture strip type mall but don't let that stop you! Had a delicious lunch. let's see, to start..the chips and salsa the give you is amazing. i asked for seconds and i normally never do that. the philly Quesadilla was SO good. the meat was cooked perfectly and the flour tortilla was really good too! maybe it was home made? the enchilada and taco plate was also delicious. the portions are very generous so you might want to split it with someone! VERY reasonably priced. there are so many great places to eat in the denver area but i totally recommend this place!

The best refried beans I've ever had. Most of the waitstaff have worked there for over 10 years. The margaritas are very good or try a huge XX Amber.

We've been here a few times and food is only OK, but it's close to the house. Happy Hour is between 4-7 but they have what has to be the WORST Happy Hour policy any restaurant/bar that I have ever been to. If you are not seated in the bar area no happy hour for you Full Price Drinks. We may be back again since it's close to the house, but I will never spend a dime on another drink here.

Was recommended by the hotel we're staying at to the restaurant. Was greeted by a nice young lady and sat down to order. The waitress arrived to start our order and we asked what are the house specialties. She seemed annoyed at the question and said everything is good. Again I asked what they are famous for. She said that everything was good and said she would come back when we had made our choices. The food was just ok. Nothing to right home about. After we finished our meal I ordered a desert. She brought us a mini size portion. When I questioned her about it she said it was free. But on the menu it is a order item with a price for the desert. I told her she should have let me know so I could have made a choice on what I wanted. Needless to say, we decided to skip ordering anything else and checked out. Most diners don't read the menu as well as I typically do. So when the waitress does not inform you of your choices when there not on the menu, it can be frustrating.

This place is not bad. Its a little run down and could use a refresh, but its...well, not bad. The tequila selection is huge. You name it, they probably have it. The food is a bit disappointing. Its not bad but I expected better. The fajitas could have been seasoned better, but the portions are fairly large and the food price is decent. The tequila prices are a bit high, but most places won't carry the quality or selection of agave bliss that they do. The service was a bit slow, but extremely friendly. The dining room is showing its age, and while age is fantastic for tequila, its not so fantastic for restaurant carpet. This place is huge. It has two sides, a restaurant side, and a bar side. Each side could be a standalone business by itself. If you want great tequila and average food, this place is gold. Seriously, do you go to a tequila bar for the food?

Great atmosphere here. They have a large bar area and a restraunt on The other side, Lets not forget the large size outdoor patio. The Food is very good and they also have a great happy hour daily with Free tacos and hot wings. Family oriented and Great place to meet with friends.

My absolute favorite margarita is here. Not the cheap happy hour ones though. Im not sure what it's called but I always ask for the margarita in the shaker and it's fantastic. The food is good too, but nothing too extraordinary. They also serve mini sopapillas after every meal which is another love of mine!

Barely ok. Food tasted frozen. The patio is really nice on a sunny day. Probably a great place for happy hour but the food and service leave a great deal to be desired. No trace of green chili in burrito. Meat burrito. It was ok and filled the stomach. Wife had enchilada and tamale. Tamale tasted frozen. Rest was ok. Salsa was a watery and not much spice. Probably such a nice day why they even got two stars :) Not my kind of Mexican food. Beer was good!

This is our favorite Mexican restaurant! The food is authentic and tasty. It's so difficult these days to find Mexican restaurants that serve food with spices versus spicy. Being a cook, I am accustomed to flavor, not heat; they do a great job of making sure everything is full of flavor. Their pico de gallo is absolutely delicious as well! If your used to Tex Mex or a mouth full of fire, this isn't for you.

Rating on Latino food authentic-ness, it is definitely a 5 star! Delicious dishes. I was with a group of about 20, we received great service. Our waitress even brought us a free treat of churros with caramel sauce and whipped cream. If I lived in the area this restaurant would be one of my go to places for sure!

Very good prices and my meal came out on a dish so big it resembled a battle shield more than a plate. Including tip, you can walk out of here for $10 or less if you get a lunch special. Service has always been really excellent. Food seems to be pretty standard Mexican. The salsa is a little more watery than I prefer, only because it makes piling up the chip more messy, complicated, and impossible than it should be. But the excellent tomato & cilantro taste makes stopping the chip feast oh so hard. The chips aren't my favorite, although I still can't put them down. The outdoor patio which faces Parker Road has a very nice view of Cherry Creek State Park, plenty of shade, and makes for a relaxing midday setting. And I almost forgot... free sopaipillas! They come topped with whipped cream and and a delicious strawberry sauce. Really great. Very close to a 4 star rating due to the great service, nice atmosphere, and good value.

In an area where Mexican restaurants are spread out like cactus across the hot sizzling dessert, this restaurant stands out like a bucket of ice cold beers! Bring in the wheel barrow, im gonna need wheeled out of here! After, consuming the express burrito, my stomach felt as if I were to give birth to not one, but eight babies!! This however was not a bad thing due to the incredibly delicious flavor of my meal. Receiving the check, I figured we'd be stuck with a hefty bill, being that the two of us ate enough mexican food to kill a strong working donkey. But, to my surprise, the most expensive item on the check was my coronarita, a big ol' Margarita with an upside-down corona bottle erecting out of my glass like titanic after its romantic date with the iceburg. For the two of us, we only spent about $30 total and there is absolutely nothing bad I have to say about my visit. Will be return again soon!!

Happy hour offers free appetizers of build your own tacos and wings. Tacos get a 1/2 star. .. wings did not suck in the Wing aficionado Steve's opinion. However. .. they did lose a bit of luster in the warmer tray and lacked the sacuiness of the order of wings from the menu that were delivered nearby. They became a bit dried during the holding period. Happy hour prices are reasonable on 1/2 off domestic drafts and wells. Ample seating and a plethora of screens in the bar area for your viewing pleasure. -1 star for the autographed Tebow jersey still on the wall.

The food here is good, and if you are looking for tequila, you have found your place. I had the Chicken Mole, and loved it. My wife loved her combo plater. The service was very good. We felt very welcome here. I thought that was a nice touch.

When we got there it was a Friday night and they had karaoke going on in the bar area. It was so loud that you couldn't even hear yourself think. The food was ok the typical Mexican stuff. Nothing fancy and nothing unique.

I love Mexican food! This restaurant offers a wonderful selection of authentic Mexican dishes. Today I ordered a combination plate consisting of a ground beef taco, cheese enchilada, and chile relleno. The platter also included rice and beans. The entire dish had great flavor a with just the right amount of spice. I also ordered a house margarita that had a great balance of flavors. The service was quick and friendly.

It's a good size restaurant, with a patio. The inside is pretty noisy when busy, and it's family friendly so expect the kids. They start you off with water, chips, pico de gallo and salsa. Their salsa is a little spicy and too watery for my. The pico is made with cabbage, which I've never seen. You could eat it like a slaw, but I found mixing it into the salsa gave the salsa a chunkier consistency which was more to my liking. I lived in Texass for a 18 years so I've grown (literally and figuratively) fond of Tex-Mex. So "Mexican" food in Denver has been a bit touchy for me. I've been to over 40 since moving here, trying to find my 2 all time favorite Tex-Mex dishes, Carne Guisada (which nobody seems to know what I'm talking about and always bring me Carne ASADA), and the other is Machacado. This place is the first that (almost) makes the latter. In fact, it's pretty darn close. They call it 'Machaca con huevo" here, it's shredded and chopped 'spicy' beef mixed with tomato, onion and egg. The major difference is Machacado is done with a crispy chip beef which is fried crispy, almost jerky dry. This Machaca is moist and tender, but delicious. My only gripe last time was that there wasn't enough egg scrambled in, so ordered it with 2 extra eggs. (It's $3.25 to add 2 eggs, so you may want to try it regular first, seeing as you can get a dozen at Krogers for less). It's served with rice and refried beans, lettuce, tomatoes and flour tortillas. And let me warn you girly girls, it's a lot of food. The plate is huge. While this is generally a breakfast item, this place doesn't open for breakfast, and I'm just happy to have it when I can. I also ordered the Chicken Flautas appetizer. It's 4 pieces of incredibly moist shredded chicken wrapped in an ever-so-lightly deep fried tortilla. It is not even remotely greasy. And I don't understand how they manage to keep the chicken so moist, but it's very good. It's served with sour cream and guacamole and a splash of non distinct red sauce that has no real flavor or purpose. I broke a cardinal sin in my world, I did not leave room for dessert. My meal came to $18.00 even, plus tax and tip. But considering 2 "normal" people could probably share this meal, it's not really too bad. My server, Reyna, was awesome. She was quick and kind and checked on me several times. She put up with me while I sat typing on my phone and watched TV and I never felt pressured to leave. It's not my first visit and it won't be my last. ***update**** So of course, after sitting here a while watching the Broncos spank the 49'ers for a little while I magically found a space to put a slice of cheesecake. It's standard fare, probably store bought, served with whipped cream and caramel sauce. There was more whipped cream than cheese cake, but I'm not complaining. In my world there is no such thing as bad cheesecake. It was a nice final touch without overdoing it. Now I can go home and take a nap.

Solid little Mexican cafe, we've become quite the regulars on Friday night. We've only had one so-so experience there and that's was the night we decided to sit out on the patio. Our waitress seemed more interested in the single male customers more than attending to our table. If you're looking for a dumpy little dive place with some good Mexican food, then this is the place for you.

I have been here a few times with average to poor experience so it's time to put in my 2 cents. Tonight I tried he spinach enchiladas ... The filling was cold and bland. The tortillas were barely warm. The beans and rice were bland. The stuffed jalapeños were bland. I am wondering if they make assumptions and that I appeared to be a person who wanted bland?? Well I like spicy and I expect some flavor and spice in Mexican cuisine. Many times I do specify spicy just to make sure. And I do expect my food to be served hot and fresh. 2 stars for those who appreciate cold and bland. 1 star for the rest of us....

Awesome Carne Asada. This is my 3rd visit and the food is consistently great. On football nights, the environment is festive. The service is quick, accurate and friendly. I will continue to frequent this place for a long time to come. If you like hot, order a side of fried fresh jalapeños. They rock!

I had been here in the past and decided to visit again today for my birthday. The visit today was wrong on many levels. 1. Seated at a dirty table. Had to flag someone down to clean it. 2. Salsa chips and water were put on our table without a greeting. 3. Waited 10 minutes before our drink order was taken. Drink order was wrong when it did arrive. 4. Another 10 minutes before food order was taken. Ordered a number 15 and spouse ordered a chicken sandwich. I could not have my tostada as a guacamole tostada without a $3.00 upcharge. 5. Waited nearly 30 minutes for meal to be delivered without any return visits from our waitress. Finally, we were told the delay in delivery of our meal was due to the chicken sandwich as they take longer. 6. When the food was delivered my number 15 turned out to be a #5 and was cold. A number 15 is an enchilada, taco, and tostada. I received a tostada and enchilada. The waitress did offer to bring a taco, but I passed not wishing to wait any longer. The presentation of the food was not appetizing, The rice was dry and the tostada soggy. I ate very little. The chicken sandwich that held up the show was flavorless. 7. Prior to delivery of our meal, the hostess attempted to present a bill for food we had not ordered. Mind you this was same hostess who seated us at a dirty table. When we protested she told us this was the bill for our table. She was told that she needed to clear this up with the waitress. 8. We were brought free sopapillas as a peace offering. We said no thanks, please bring us the check, paid the check, left and will not return.

After receiving countless coupons in the mail and driving past and seeing large crowds, we finally came here for dinner Friday night. I read through the Yelp reviews and tried to lower my expectations. We came at about 6pm and were seated immediately in the dining room. There were tons of large tables set up and so we could tell it was going to get busy. The bar was already packed and karaoke was starting. We were seated at a booth next to the entrance to the bar. I noticed the booth in front of ours had huge rips in the seat cushions and I can only imagine how comfortable that is to sit on. Our server came over quickly and took our drink order. I had a house margarita and my husband had a beer. He was amazed at the cheap price and I think was instantly won over. Chips and two kinds of salsas were also brought over and were very good. One was a standard salsa and the other was kind of a pico, with cabbage in it. I ordered the beef fajita burrito and my husband had the cheese enchilada platter. And I say platter as the plate that he was presented with was the size of a pizza pan. Ridiculous. My burrito had a mystery sauce over it that worried me that it was pork based. I couldn't find any presence of meat and so I hoped it was ok. My beef was large strips of steak and there were a couple that were pure gristle. Found that out after popping them in my mouth. A giant pool of oil also showed up under my burrito. The rice was very good, though the black beans had zippo seasoning. My husband was impressed with his meal and had no complaints. I saw spinach enchiladas and think I would be best to stay away from meat in the future. We moved over to the bar area to listen to some karaoke and enjoy the happy hour specials after we had eaten. Happy hour goes until 7pm and even though we ordered prior to that, when we got our bill, our drinks were full price. Their margaritas are the strongest I've had at a restaurant and are only $5. They also have a little bar of free food during happy hour and it comes with all kinds of signs, warning you not to be greedy. Overall, service is very prompt and friendly here. Food wasn't stellar but the drinks are good and decently priced. At least come for the karaoke as there were some excellent singers.

This was good, not stellar, but good. I lived in Texas for 30-years, so I'm more accustomed to "Tex-Mex," so living in Denver has proved interesting for Mexican food. We all got different variations of the combination dinners. All were okay. My son just got 4-ala carte tacos. We were told they were small by our waiter. They were fairly large. My son, who can demolish tacos, was even full. Service was good. No complaints. I ordered a jumbo strawberry margarita. It was good & had plenty of tequila in it. I didn't care for the hot sauce, but the fresh pico they put out was pretty good. All in all, we'll come again soon.

I was traveling through town and stopped here, for dinner, on the advice of a friend. I found the food and the service to be great! The wait staff were prompt, polite and answered my questions while helping me choose a meal. The chips, salsa and pico were fresh and fantastic. I went with the Tacos Al Carbon (chicken) with black beans and ate the whole thing, despite the huge portions. And in regards to portions: I ordered a tall beer (thinking I would get something about the size of a pint) and was served with a giant 34 oz beverage. The bottomline: the service, food and drink were all great and all for roughly $20 for one. This is a restaurant I will definitely revisit on next trip through Aurora.

It is okay. Just okay. They have a decent happy hour. HH is from 4:00pm - 7:00pm, Mon-Fri. HH drinks includes $2.50 Domestic Drafts, Dos Equis and Well, and $3.50 basic Margaritas. They even put out some basic food during happy hour. "FREE Hot Wings & Tacos with purchase of bar drinks!" And they offer HH during Broncos Games! The HH food consists of very plain hard shell taco fixin's (think shells, meat, cheese, and salsa) and some decently spiced wings (that disappear quickly, and only come out at the top of the hour). And, they are slightly stingy with the food at the happy hour. There is a sign warning people who are not sitting in the bar (and this excludes the patio) that they are not welcome to the food. Another sign says 2 wings (or tacos) per happy hour drink purchased. I have been here for dinner, but it has been several years. I remember it as being fairly decent. Our service was okay.

Convenient location inside the 24 hour gym parking lot. The restaurant is big, the staff is super friendly, and the portions are huge. I had the garlic shrimp platter which came with rice, beans, and tortillas. The shrimp was so so good. The table had carne asada, fajitas, and a mix of other stuff but everyone loved their food. The margaritas are decently priced and are pretty good.

Been coming here for years. Still consider this the best in Aurora. Most of the food is great. The fajitas are weird stay away. Carne Asada, the best. Great salsa and you can buy it to take home. The quality has seemed to gone down a bit in last year and hope its not a trend.

Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon. I had the fajitas and my wife had the fajita burrito. Both were very good and the plate sizes were huge. Only downside was they were out of chili con caso. The chips and salsa was fresh and we had great service.

I love this place! Great prices and fabulous Mexican food! Their happy hour is so awesome! Really great service by everybody here! You come here often enough and you're part of a family! Even visiting one time, you won't be disappointed.

Have been coming here for years! Some things have changed negatively: when u order anything 'smothered', expect it to be fairly dry. I always order a side of green chile, just to make it adequate. The portions are huge and overall food is delish... Now my biggest complaint: whoever is in charge of beans and rice needs to be fired! And it gets worse every time! Id like the owner to sample it everyday and he'd realize it is virtually inedible. Please, make a fresh batch daily! Positives: environment, service, staff, buffet, all the meat, fish and chicken is very fresh and tasty.

Casa Vallarta is our absolute go to for Mexican food. We always feel like family here! Their food is fantastic, we highly recommend their carne asada or cocktail de camarones. Oh my goodness, their margaritas! Have a couple of Cadillac margs and find yourself a designated driver :)

Live nearby and have finally visited CV... Food is decent...big portions and pretty good quality...pretty much what we expect for casual Mexican. We've dined on both occasions in the bar area as we find it more social and lively than eating in the dining room. Beer, tequila and margaritas are great (we prefer to have the marg made fresh than coming out of the system gun...) So why 3 and not 4 stars you might ask?? Because of the really bad and loud kiddie karaoke blasting through the bar. It's really got to go. Maybe it'd be a good idea to close off that room.

Ohh Casa V... There are things I love about this place and things I hate. The good: Cheap food Delicious chips and salsa Happy hour (cheap beer and free food) Hot wings The bad: THE SERVICE (especially in the bar area) The food isn't exactly "high quality" Did I mention the service? The waiters like to randomly scream into their walkie-talkies equipped with ear pieces, which freaks me out. Bottom line: you get what you pay for. At least it's better than Casa Bonita.

Food great service sucked!! Waiter told me my card was declined then charged it twice. Manager said funds would take 5 days to get back into my checking account. Didn't offer any kind of comp, don't know if I will ever go back. Wasn't my fault waiter ran the wrong card!!!!

The servings here are seriously out of control. You get A LOT of food for a very fair price. I once ordered a chile rellano and a SIDE of rice.... they brought me an over-sized dinner plate heaped with rice...... holy crap. The margaritas are good along with the service. This is one of our favorite go-to options to fill up the tummy tank before heading over to Dry Dock for some delightful microbrews.

The food is delicious and the portions are impressive but the service is consistently HORRIBLE. The wait staff seems very non-chalant and has no sense of urgency. The only saving grace for this restaurant is the delicious food and huge selection of tequila.

I have driven past this place about a hundred times and had a few people recommend it. It is one of those places that you just never end up going too, until recently. Bottom line: It is is OK. The good: Strong drinks, huge portions, pretty cheap prices and we had good service when we went. Plus there looks like there is a huge bar in the back with lots of TVs and they advertise specials to come watch football, if that sort of thing floats your boat. The bad: So the bad isn't really bad, it is ho-hum. The food was alright. It was a a very cheesy, very Americanized version of Mexican (I had a relleno, enchilada and taco + rice and beans). Nothing really had any heat (spice) and it tasted OK, but not special in any way. So I guess the take away on this place is, it is A-OK. I liked that you got a little sopapilla with your meal at the end (and of course chips/salsa to start). I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but if I was in the area and craving a marg and some enchiladas I would stop in!

If the prices weren't below average or in other words, pretty cheap, this would be a 3-star. BUT, you get what you pay for. The food was ........ meh, pretty good, but not great. I was looking for some more flavor and some more spice, but its pretty tame as far as Mexican food goes. The service is good, and the drinks were refilled quickly. I'm sure we will be back, but not for Mexican food, instead for Ameri-Mex food.

I don't normally dine at many Mexican restaurants, but from my recollection, Casa Vallarta was good. Though they might be overlooked, the complementary chips and salsa were good. Freshly made and crispy. I also enjoyed the menudo, not the boy band, but the soup itself. It was hot and very flavorful. Generous portions.

They seat you quickly, service is fast, and all of the staff we have encountered have been friendly. The plaza this restaurant is in leaves much to be desired (which is why we were hesitant to try it), but once we did we loved it!! The food is absolutely delicious! Generous portions, authentic, and reasonably priced. And their house margarita is perfecto. Also, we brought our two-month old once in her car seat and twice in her stroller (we had walked to the restaurant), and they were very accommodating, which we were very appreciative of. Our new favorite restaurant in Aurora!

First timers about a week ago. Excited to maybe find a good place close to our house. Super quick service - chips, salsa and water were on our table lighting fast. The waitstaff was also working very hard, running around from table to table. We ordered margaritas having seen on the website that they were half-price during happy hour, however found out later that is only is in the bar. Thankfully they were strong (but didn't taste good - very margarita mix taste). Food came out really fast (too fast, really) and was not good. If you have a general standard for Mexican food, skip this place. It was bland, not spicy or flavorful at all, and the rice had a really weird flavor. Honestly the chips and salsa, the decent buzz from the yucky margarita, along with the fact that my husband and I shared an entree, and got cute miniature complimentary sopapillas at the end, were the only things that kept me from feeling really bummed about our dinner choice. Hate to say it, but I would rather have had Taco Bell and had money left over for a decent bottle of tequila.

This is a wonderful place, we've been many a time, the service is always good, the portions large, the chips and salsa that come with a side of extra goodies.......... Yum mummmmmmmmmm. These guys give you a plate full, the fajitas are about the best we've had since bennigan's left us so long ago......in fact These are better..but everything we have tried on the menu has been good. The fun sweet treat at the end of what seems to be every meal is the sopapilla that they just bring out....

First time here. Food was bland and the house margarita's tasted off to me. Karaoke from the bar part was way too loud for the dining area. Too bad because I wanted to like it.

Thank goodness my friend who invited me to this place paid for the meal. What a disappointment! This is probably the worst Mexican food I've eaten in a sit down restaurant...ever. I wasn't terribly hungry when I went to dinner Tuesday night. I ordered a chicken enchilada and a chicken taco from the a la carte portion of the menu. I didn't want any side items like rice and beans. What I received tasted and appeared to be warmed shredded, canned chicken (and gobs of it) between a tortilla and a taco shell. Sure there was some melted cheese and lettuce involved (no other accoutrements) but nothing could save this disastrous plate. The chicken was absent any flavor except salt. The taco shell was soggy, to the point it couldn't be picked up without falling apart. I know other reviewers seemed to like the chips and salsa at this joint. I can't even give that a thumbs up. It was okay at best. I would have been happier going to the grocery store and buying salsa from the shelf. I'm struggling to think of something nice to say but nothing comes to mind. I don't readily hand out one star ratings, either. The food was really terrible.

Came here with a friend and neither of us liked it. We were told it was more authentic Mexican... but I hope not, because that would say bad things about authentic mexican food. Seems like a good place for happy hour since they have free chicken wings and tacos, but I haven't been there for that.

It's been about 10 years since my last visit here. I remember the food being decent but it just isn't close to my house so we just never went. It is my friends favorite Mexican Restaurant and it was her birthday so I made the trek. We ordered a Carne Asada salad with a side of shredded chicken. The chicken was a bit lacking in flavor for me (spices, people, spices) and the salad was nothing special. The Carne Asada on the other hand was some of the best that I've had in a very long time. It was thin, seasoned well, and cooked perfectly. The owner stopped by our table and explained that they had just gotten in that day. It was very apparently! The service was good. We were waiting on one of our dinner mates and our waitress would check back periodically to see if there was anything we needed. Once the 3rd person arrive our waitress was right there taking our order and the food came out very quickly. I love the fact that this is a family owned restaurant.

They are an alright Mexican restaurant. Pros: food is pretty good, close to home, food is prepared and brought out quickly, decent prices, complimentary chips and salsa, great queso dip, and complimentary sopapils (not sure about the spelling). Cons: SLOW and unobservant wait staff (we've always had to wave them down to take our order, ask a question, and have drinks re-filled), tiny booths, way too loud Karaoke (can't hear myself speak all the way in the next room), foods appearance/presentation is questionable (looks gross but tastes good), the complimentary salsa tastes and looks like onion and cilantro in tomato water (all you can taste is raw ONION and a hint of cilantro). There are not many very good Mexican restaurants in our area, but this one has some of the better tasting food. Worth it if you can put up w/ all the noise, don't hold high standards on the chips and salsa, and can put up with the very poor quality of wait staff.

I have friends that are here all the time, so I make the venture frequently. I usually come for drinks, which are very fairly priced and pretty strong. Margaritas aren't the tastiest things in the world, the tequila is clearly not top shelf, but it's pretty decent and strong so you definitely get your money's worth. Food here for a vegetarian leaves something to be desired. Not a ton of options and the ones that are on there are typically vegetable burrito with a red sauce of some kind. Didn't blow me away. Boyfriend got chicken enchiladas, they were standard if I remember correctly. The place itself is huge, the bar area is a little shabby but the have an awesome patio. Service is great, very prompt and if they like you, and they appreciate their regulars and show it. I will continue to go here for some drinks and fun, maybe some appetizers, but I have been to better veg friendly Mexican places before, and I think I will stick to those for my cravings.

As others have said, this is a very American-ized version of Mexican food. I had my standard beef burrito with refried beans and there was no heat and honestly very little flavor. Service was good and the margarita had a very heavy kick to it. They've got a bar in the back with lots of TV's, so it seems like it'd be a great place to go to watch the game.

I have passed this restaurant many times and noted they had karaoke. On a girl's night, I finally had the opportunity to try them out. It's set up in two sections- a quiet dining area and a bar area with dining, televisions and music. We ordered some margaritas, taco salad, and flautas. The margaritas were moderately strong so I will give them a star for that action. The food was okay but the taco salad was more condiment, especially lettuce, than meat and the flautas were much bigger than what I am used to flautas being. They were also pretty bland. Their tortilla chips and salsas were okay. Nothing to rave about. The atmosphere was off. I mean the bar area is divided by a partial wall so it's like two sections. On the side nearest the bar, televisions and music were on. On the side farthest from the bar, there was karaoke. It just didn't mesh well. You would think they would have the radio music playing only when someone wasn't singing karaoke but between the radio music, karaoke music, and DJ music...it was an overload. Then, the fact that kids were running around in the bar area just messed up the vibe. How can you cut loose when there are families dining in the bar area? That was a big part of why we didn't stay longer. Service was okay. It seemed like the servers worked together in covering their tables but our server was a bit slow through the night to the point to where we considered walking out without paying just to see if anyone would notice. Finally, someone notice we had been standing up for five minutes waiting to get our bill. This is the kicker for me. My friend-girl gave me a birthday card w/gift card & money inside, in an envelope during our gathering which we placed on one end of the table. We failed to grab it when we left after 9pm. I went by the next afternoon and caught up with the woman who waited on us who did not have any recollection of the envelope the table but indicated that she was actually working more in the quiet dining area and there were two guys helping out with the tables in the area we sat in. She said she would ask them and told me to call her later on. Well, I didn't get to call her later on Saturday but I did go back by before noon on Sunday. The waitress stated that nobody had it. Now, yes the busser could have just picked it up and put it in his busser tray but he still has to empty out that tray so, even if the busser took it, the process isn't as absentminded as the waitress tried to make it seem. I know people leave stuff behind all the time. They pulled out credit cards and a bin of lost items supporting that. How is it that less than 24 hours after my item was left, no one, including the at least three people who waited on us, was aware of the envelope left on the table laying right by plates and glasses that were picked up from the table several times during our stay? It doesn't sound right. That is the biggest deterrent for me. I would have been interested in trying their food again if it wasn't for that. So, the margaritas get one star and the overall service, unrecovered item notwithstanding, gets one star.

Yay! Authentic Mexican in my 'hood! Nicer inside than I imagined, arch-lined booths were cozy. Had an upscale feel. Very prompt service, good amount of attention. Excellent stiff margarita, complete with the shaker. Yum! I had the Original, but would definitely try the others. The huge lunch plate--actually a platter--surprised me. It was about 3 times the size of my head. Soft taco with al pastor was pretty good. Excellent guacamole, refried beans with cheese and Spanish rice. The al pastor had good flavor with chunks of pineapple. My workmate had beef with egg, and he enjoyed it. Two endearing touches... no sopapillas on the menu, but two small ones arrived at the end of our meal, and a rose was given to the ladies in the restaurant, a nice Valentine's surprise.

Why did I order shrimp this far inland!? Not sure. But my stomach was acting weird later and that's rare for me. I have an iron stomach and can handle just about anything. Mexican seafood can be a gamble and this time I lost. Should have ordered something pollo instead. Salsa was good, fajitas were fresh, margarita wasn't bad either. I'd try this place again but won't be ordering anything from the ocean next time.

Now, the food is more so 3.0, but because the salsa was really good, I even asked for 2nds, it obviously stood out for me, the portions were huge, and customer service was on point. We also got a free sweet bite at the end, (though nothing special, just a fried donut thing, still it was free and unexpected) and really great service. The food may not be super authentice or mind blowing, but the overall experience was super. Oh yeah, to top it all off, price point was totally average, but because of the large portions, you feel like you get a great deal. For $16, we had lunch AND dinner. New mexican spot for me!

Very authentic Mexican food. Food came out fast and plates were huge, too big. They have specials everyday and on the day we went it was carne asada which was good from what I hear. I had shrimp diablo and it was spicy! But I loved how they left pitchers of water on the table for you. Since it was my Dad's birthday, they offered free shots and dessert.

Two words: cabbage salsa! We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by a kind young lady who refered to us as amigos theough our meal. They have a good lunch special which comes with a lot of food for the price! Its your typical mexican food restaraunt with the usual suspects that you can find at hacienda, armadillo or three margaritas! What I learned really sets them apart from any other though was the hospality that we received from the staff. After finishing our meal the waitress brought by two hot sophapillas with whip cream and strawberries. It wasn't until those were gone that she mentioned if we were ok to get our check now. Oh and did I mention they have cabbage salsa!

Still loving it. My boyfriend and I stopped here last night since we were hungry and in the area. We were seated, had our drinks brought out when he found he'd forgot his wallet. I didn't have any cash or credit on me so we sheepishly apologized to the waiter and hostess and left. I was about to pull my car out when a gentleman approached the car. Boyfriend had seen him and knew he was a manager at the restaurant. He invited us to come back in to the restaurant and just pay our bill later. Wow. That's service. And I don't need any margaritas to appreciate it ;)

I really wanted to like this place because it's close to my home. Two bad experiences there are just unbelievable. First about a year ago, my wife and kids ordered a meal that had SPOILED cheese. We told the manager and at first he tried to tell us that it wasn't spoiled but I'm not an idiot and I know what I tasted. Finally he came out and admitted that a batch of their cheese had indeed arrived spoiled from their distributor. Which means there is no quality control in the kitchen. Believe it or not, we actually went back periodically since ( I don't know why, convenience maybe). Finally, my wife and I went in during happy hour about 2 weeks ago. There was sign out front that said FREE WINGS during happy hour. I love wings so we went in. When I went to get wings at the food bar there were none available. I asked our waiter and he said that it would take about 40 minutes for more wings to come out. Annoyed, I asked why it would take so long and he proceeded to tell me that I could order wings from the menu (in other words PAY for them) and they would come out sooner. That just pissed me off. I told him that when they take down their happy hour sign advertising free wings, Ill order and pay for some. Can you believe that any restaurant would do business like that? Others were complaining that same night that the "free tacos" they advertised on the same sign were slow to come out as well. I'll never eat there again. Should have known better when they served me spoiled food the first time.

Nom nom nom! This is walking distance from my house and I'm pretty excited about that. We got 4 good sized margaritas (you could actually taste the tequila, which is refreshing) for $11! $11! We also had some really scrumptious food. I had veggie taco salad and one of the best chile rellenos I've had in ages. The service and atmosphere were great. Only cons were, for happy hour drink prices you MUST sit in the bar. Also in the description of my taco salad it mentioned cheese twice....there was NO cheese on it. It was so delicious that I didn't send it back though. will return many many time.

Well, after tonight's experience i waivered between 2 & 3 stars. For me, it was 2 stars for sure. My food was lukewarm at best although the plate was screaming hot. How does that happen? My chili relleno was horrible. The cheese was not melted at all, infact it was literally a chunk of cheese in a chili. They brought me another one and the coating came off and there was hardly any cheese. The margarita was pretty good and pretty potent which was impressive for a 2.95 marg. They were really busy so the service was spotty at best and nearly non-existant. The reason i added the 3rd star is because the rest of our party of 8 was pleased with their meals.

Fake fake fake. Flour tortillas for the enchiladas. Everything tastes like its from a can. We were highly disappointed. To those who have positive reviews, you've clearly never had good Mexican food. Coming from So Cal where good mexican food is everywhere, I know my stuff. Skip this place.

This place I have now been 3 times over the last two years. I enjoyed the first two times and recently went back on Friday. The food was a little bland ( I only got a bean burrito and a relleno). The relleno had little taste but the pepper was super spicy. It was alright, but definetely not my favorite Mexican Restaurant.

  • Danielle T.

My fav Mexican place (since there is not a Chevys here)! Service can be a little slow at times, but they've always made up for that with free drinks! Chile relleno is not their speciality, but get the chimichanga, enchiladas, or smothered burrito and you will not be disappointed! Very comfortable place, especially for those of us with children. Great neighborhood Mexican place with yummy food, delish margaritas, for very good prices!

Like any restaurant this place has amazing dishes and then there are those other dishes that I really really disliked. Plates that I loved included the Carne Asada, Chille Releno, Carnes de res, any of the dinner dishes. The ones I disliked was the nachos with cheese (drowned in cheese) and the cheeseburger (I don't know why I ordered a cheeseburger at a mexican restaurant, Chalupa was ok, but the best dishes are the dinner dishes. Also I am addicted to their margaritas they are the best I have ever had... I am so addicted! Dinner dishes are great and so is their chille relleno and margaritas. I do like it here and go maybe twice a month.

So I suggested to my husband that we give this place a try due to the high rating here on Yelp. It was just ok. Nothing to write home about. But I am going to write about our experience here. First of all, my husband parks the car while I go get a table. The hostess seats me and I said, "My husband is parking the car. He's wearing a black leather jacket." That means, when a guy in a black leather jacket walks in, bring him to my table. When my husband found me, he said the hostess gave him a blank stare in response to "You just seated my wife." Apparently, the hostess wasn't very bright. We ordered chile con queso as an appetizer and it came out lukewarm, if that. It was somewhere between cold and barely warm. Queso doesn't taste very good when it's not hot. I kept trying to flag down our waitress, but she kept walking away and doing something else. She disappeared for quite a while. So here we are sitting with a bowl of cold queso. The next time we saw her come out was with our entrees. So we told her the queso is cold. I start eating my beef fajita burrito, while my husband starts on his combo plate (enchilada, tostada, and tamale). I guess I should start off by saying that the entree plates are enormous. No person needs that much food at one meal. Our waitress comes back out with our queso. It's not any warmer than it was before. Grrrrrrrrrrr... and at this point I'm eating my meal and I don't want to send back the queso again, because then they probably would just spit in it. Who the heck knows? I've heard the stories from coworkers and friends who used to work in food service. Both of us left quite a bit of rice and beans on our plates... the burrito was ok. I probably would've been just as satisfied by ordering two tacos and no queso. All in all, I'd have to say Hacienda Colorado is 10x better. So for the person who said Casa Vallarta is better, NO WAY, José! We'll drive the extra distance to the I-25 and Colorado Hacienda to get their homemade tortillas, refried beans, queso, and guacamole and enjoy our "Make-our-own" burritos. What can I say? You don't know what you don't know. So until you try something, you have no clue what it's going to be like. Oh yeah, and they had this god-awful karaoke going on. Our table was closest to the karaoke room. One couple towards the end sounded like a dying animal. We were about to call the humane society. Not exactly the most enjoyable of environments... In summary, burrito/combo platter were ok. Queso was bad. Service was hardly mediocre. Karaoke was horrible - it should be done in a soundproof room. But I can see how this place might be decent if you downed a few margaritas beforehand.

My husband and I have been here once. I thought it was pretty good, got carnitas. My husband got a burrito, which he did not like and has decided we won't be going back. So, give it a try and judge for yourself!

Great place for inexpensive and fast yet great tasting Mexican food for lunch. Go there get the lunch special and you can be in and out of there quicker than a McD's. They have some kind of magic oven that spits out your order of burrito, enchilada, tacos or chalupa in less than five minutes. Plus, they end your lunch with a small delicious sopapilla covered in cinamon, whipcream, and strawberry sauce. Go and Enjoy.

Best Mexican restaurant in the Aurora/Parker area. The chips and salsa rock. Guacamole is great. I'm not a fan of their ground beef or chile rellenos though, better chile rellenos at Sams #3 on hampden. Everything else is really good. Free sopapillas at the end of the meal and great service. On the weekends you get to dine to the sounds of karoke. Kind of adds a fun element. Very reasonable for the size and quality of food you get here. I love it!

Solid Mexican food. I judge Mexican restaurants on their carne asada burritos, and hopefully these were a representation of great overall quality. It was a huge, tasty burrito, the service were good, and the beers were ice cold. My kind of place.

GREAT fajitas! Margaritas that are stiff enough to walk by themselves! Service was great and fast. This will be on a repeat list for me! (If I can remember where it is!)

Skip it. Nothing worth stopping for. I may just be visiting Denver for the weekend, but I am certain there are better places for better Mexican food.

As we walk into one of our favorite spots in Aurora, Juan opens 2 bottles of miller light and shakes our hand. He welcomes us with a genuine smile and cold beers! The staff at Casa Vallarta is friendly and accommodating. There is karaoke on Friday and Saturday, so it gets crowded. The owners and managers have little control over the kids running crazy while their parents sing Abba. When you're in, have the shrimp cocktail or the pollo a la crema!! Definitely go on the weekday if you are planning a family dinner.

Not the best Mexican food but we always have great service, and even though you only have a view of Parker Road when dining outside, it's still very pleasant. I love Chile Rellenos but theirs are not stellar. The free dessert is nice perk!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
