Food was horrible. Almost as if it wasn't cooked thoroughly. I had sesame chicken and instead of feeling full I got a stomach ache!! On top of it all I was given fried rice when I asked specifically for steamed rice. I called back to complain and the lady proceeded to argue with me about what I did or did not order. What a joke, I'm the customer you don't argue with me over $2 rice! AVOID this place at all costs!

Holy Giant Eggroll, Batman!! Seriously these eggrolls are so big, ONE is more than enough for a single meal. And they're tasty and the dipping sauce is good too. Terrrible maintenance and upkeep on the interior and exterior keep this from being a truly great place; the grimy factor is unsettling.

The reviews seemed spotty to me at first, but after finally trying Tam's tonight, I am impressed with this first experience. Had to have the famous egg rolls, and they lived up to the hype....they are big, fresh, crispy and quite flavorful. Having grown up in New York, I have pretty high standards for Chinses take-out, and I will give it to Tam's, their egg rolls are better than most NYC egg rolls...although they didn't have traditional duck sauce, they serve them with a house sauce that is pretty interesting and goes well with the egg roll. Also had hot and sour soup, a steal for under two bucks, and nicely flavored. Wife and I split the Happy Family, chock full of fresh vegetables and plenty of chicken, pork, shrimp and beef. The fried rice was also a standout- not at all greasy or oily, and with a very nice flavor and texture. More like real Chinese fried rice than typical Chinese-American versions. Overall we greatly enjoyed our first take-out experience, and look forward to trying more of the menu. Only reason not to give 5 stars, and this is selfish of me, but they don't have the full gamut of what I think of as "classic" Chinese take out, like moo shu pork and BBQ spareribs. But for what they do, they seem to do it very well, very affordably priced, friendly and quick.

We ordered delivery from this place last week. We got Mongolian Beef, Generals Taos Chicken, Wonton Soup and 2 of their giant egg rolls with meat. While the delivery was fast, the food was not good. The Mongolian beef was not spicy as advertised on the menu. The chicken tasted like the fryer it came out of. The egg rolls were different. They were huge and the little meat there was in them was masked by the half pound of cabbage in it. The wonton soup was pretty much the only good thing that came. I don't foresee this place becoming my Chinese place but at least I know it's here just in case I get an urge.

The Giant Egg Rolls deserve 5 stars. I got then twice in one week. My pic lists the ingredients. I'm not sure, but I think they use MSG because I crave them irrationally. However, on my second visit I added cashew chicken. It was really spicy hot and had a lot of celery as the main vegetable - no good. I'll try more items because you know I'm going back for egg rolls. Tams is just down the street from my church - yippee.

As a former A - West student, I used to think having Tams so close was great for lunch. Unfortunately, by the time they got the order ready, my lunch period was already over and several times I had to leave before I even got my food... The really sad part is, I had a 45 min lunch, far more than enough time to throw some rice and orange chicken in a styrofoam container... And their "egg rolls" are disgusting... egg rolls were not meant to be the size of burritos...greasy, disgusting burritos...

The best shrimp egg rolls anywhere! And the dipping sauce is awesome. We get orders to go everytime we come down from Cheyenne to visit (monthly), and it has always been great.

Pad Thai, Drunken Noodles and Curries, oh my. Tam's Cantonese Restaurant serves Chinese, Thai and Vietnames food to dine in or to go. The dining room is very small, and it's used more for standing around waiting on your to-go order. Most of the regular customers call in and pick up, either through the drive thru or they walk in and are out within minutes. I, on the other hand, walked in and ordered from the counter. Wow, they are quick and friendly. They do boast having the largest egg roll in Denver, a meal in itself! You can choose from meat (chicken & pork), shrimp or vegetables (bean sprout, onion, cabbage, carrots and celery). Each of these baby's weigh about 9 ounces. They also offer Vietnamese-style egg rolls (wrapped in rice paper) and served with chili lime sauce. I really enjoy the curry (panang, green or pineapple) and the Lo Mein noodle options. There are so many options and combinations, the portions are large and bountiful, making the prices outstanding. They are closed Sundays.

We've been eating here for years! They have recently updated their location and it looks amazing. They always get our order spot on and the food is delicious. Their giant egg roll is a must try! Maybe not the healthiest for you, but very tasty!

This is the ONLY Chinese delivery we call. The food is consistently good and fresh! I get the "happy family" and my fiancé gets the "sesame chicken." Tams always throws in free wontons and egg drop soup in the order. It typically takes about 45 minutes for delivery (we are west of Standley Lake).

Have eaten at (or from) Tams for about 4 years. Always considered it the best we'd ever eaten, and then we had to suffer without for month after month while they were remodeling. For the first few months we didn't know what was happening with their building. Thought maybe it was not even going to be a restaurant. Then, O Joy!, it was going to be Tam's again! We eagerly awaited their reopening. First couple of times at the new place were good but different. But now, sadly, we have realized that something has changed besides the building. A new cook maybe? Or new recipes. The food is not the same.......... My favorite, ordered last night, the Kung Pao Chicken was first of all dry, not nearly enough liquid and worst of all full of jalapenos. Wife's Cashew Chicken was also full of jalapenos (and also very dry). Jalapenos have not previously been the source of heat at this restaurant and somehow seem inappropriate. Will give them probably one more chance so that we can try our other favorite, the Green Curry w/chicken. If that also has changed we will move on, regrettably.

This is some of the best Chinese in srvada. Service is excellent and love the take out. Very hard working folks who strive hard to provide tasty food at decent prices. They offer the A-one st students discounted prices. I am eaten at Imperial Gardens on Brosdway, this was far better

We went here a couple of nights ago on an impulse, after receiving a flyer in the mail. Turns out they have been here 30+ years. The building is sort of old 50's hamburger joint.. not impressive, and the smell of the cooking is a little strong. The food and service are where they shine though. Service very friendly and willing to make whatever changes your request. The Sesame Shrimp was awesome.. very very tasty and fresh! The giant Egg Rolls are absolutely delicious... I intend to make a meal on just these my next visit. Crispy, battered, deep fried HUGE Egg Rolls, and the stuffing is excellent... well spiced, tasty and very fresh ingredients. We will be back... probably as take-out as it is close to where my girlfriend works. I can't wait! :)

While visiting Arvada my hosts sent me to pickup food from a place up the street. I was in love with the building that hasn't received a facelift in 50+ years, and even more in love with the great food. The giant eggrolls are like little footballs, and the other dishes we had were delightful.

Do Not Eat Here! I orderd a mongolian beef meal and terriki skewer appitizer for almost 16 dollars....I feel sick now, couldnt hardly eat any of it...When i got home and opened the to go package...i smelled a bit of sour smell from it....I got a plate and porpotioned a plate of food and sat down at the table and took about three bites from the mongolian beef....Horrible...I took the plate and tossed it in the trash....I took a bite from the mongolian skewer...no flavor of mongolian....sorry thats terrible....I know this is next to Arvada West High,,,,but after the lunch fast food rush...you should be serving good hot delicious food at that price...And they should be serving tasty food to the students at the school...My neighbors had tried this place and was also sickened by what they tried to consume, but i thought i would give a benefit of a doubt and give it a try....No way would i ever go back to this place and what a shame...the owner is my neighbor in grace place condo's...The Kokaro on wadsworth and 52 is healthy good food....I will drive extra to get asian food from them...Sorry Tams....You should stop sending menu flyers out....your food is terrible....!!!

The story behind this place is awesome, the food is great and the family (Tam's surviving family) are really awesome. For being so close to my house, it is awesome. The fried cheese and chicken lo mein rocks. It's cheap, fast, and very unassuming :) good value, good people :)

Worst decision ever! We usually don't stray from Chopstix but thought we'd try something else one night. BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!! I placed an order for delivery, was told it would be upwards of an hour AFTER I gave all my credit card info. I didn't mind that and figured it would be a little quicker like most places. An hour passed and never a knock on the door...An hour and 20 minutes and we were still waiting so my husband called to see where the food was, the person said the driver was about 5 minutes from our house so my husband thanked him and hung up. 20 more minutes passed and still no food! My 2 small children passed out while waiting about 10 minutes after this call as well, which highly upset me. My husband called AGAIN at the hour and 45 minute mark and was told the driver had JUST LEFT the restaurant with our food!!! 25 minutes later our dinner finally arrived, we are only 10 minutes (if that) from the place, the driver said he was told to give us $5.00 back from our $45.00 bill, really? That's all?! My husband just gave it to the driver since he didn't wanna take it out on him. 2 hours and 10 minutes of waiting was not worth it. I had to wake my kids up and they weren't happy about that but I couldn't let their little bellies be hungry! Eating the food you could tell that it had been reheated in a microwave, it was terrible! The rice was the only decent thing we ate!!! No flavor at all. I was hoping after waiting that long we would at least be wowed...Taco Bell would have been a better choice though. I will never order from the awful place again. Just thinking about it right now makes me livid! :-/ Chopstix will remain my chinese delivery of choice with Happy G in a close 2nd...awesome people and super fast delivery every time.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
