This place is great! The restaurant is nice and clean and the staff is always friendly. The food is the best! You get huge portions and everything I have tried is delicious!

Yup, it's great for what it is. Can't believe the lunch is only $6.45 after tax. Even ordered dinner take out finally, and it was top notch. Their deep fried meat dishes have just enough batter on them, but not too much. Great Americanized-Chinese food.

This place is great for chinese food!! The sesame chicken is done very well, and the price is right. My fiancé and I typically order the "2 entree meal" and we have food for several meals. Keep up the good work.

Thanks yelp! You prove not to disappoint! Because of the reviews here, we decided to try out this place and it was, truly, done of the best chinese food I have had! Great deal and huge portions, it is definitely enough to have another full meal tomorrow. We live directly across the street and had our food, piping hit, within 20 minutes! I highly recommend this place to all!

In one word-WOW!! My husband and I decided to order takeout tonite for my birthday dinner, as it was so cold out. I opened the drawer that I put coupons and take-out menus in, thinking I was going to order from the same chinese restaurant we have always ordered from for the past 12 years. There on top, was the menu from J's Cafe that we had recieved in the mail, so I decided to give it a try. We ordered Szechuan beef, sesame chicken and MooGooGaiPan, along with one of each of the three soups. From the first taste of the soup, we knew this place was a winner! Everything we tasted had rich, homemade flavors-unlike any other Chinese restaurant we have eaten at. Each dish had deep flavor, and was packed with deliciousness. Halfway through our meal, my husband said to me "I think we have found our new favorite place"!! We were so thrilled with the food, that I called the restaurant to tell them how happy we were, and that this would be our new go-to place! We have already recommended it to a friend tonite who said she will be ordering from J's tomorrow on our recommendation, as she and her husband cannot find a chinese restaurant that they are satisfied with. I am postive that she will be calling tomorrow night thanking us!!

Five stars becaue this is as good as it gets with Chinese take-out! I am only commenting on the delivery as I have never been to the actual establishment. I know it is in a strip mall. I have ordered chinese take-out for years and years all over the country (I have moved around a bit). We usually order, low-mein, sesame chicken or general tso's and most chinese take-out tastes exactly the same. J's is the only take-out we have ordered where the sesame or general tso's chicken is still crispy even though it's drenched in sauce. That tells me that the food is cooked as it is ordered and I have an idea that most fast food chinese is cooked up in bulk and it probably sits in a pan for who knows how long until it gets to your door. Everything we have ever ordered here is good....chicken wings, dumplings, soups, fried rice, egg rolls...Not one bad thing to say about this place.

I have to preface this by saying that I made fun of this place when I passed by it the first time. It is a Chinese restaurant in a strip mall; those are always risky. I received a menu from them in the mail and gave it a chance. It was great! We had crab rangoon, hot and sour soup, and twice cooked pork. The crab rangoon was good. I enjoyed the hint of minced green onion. The hot and sour soup was delicious; a good spice but pretty mild. We loved the twice cooked pork. The meat had a hint of star anise which I thought was a great touch. As another review stated, they said it would be ready in five minutes which scared us. We showed up after 15 minutes and they were just bringing the order out. So, keep that in mind. It was everything that we wanted in a neighborhood takeout Chinese restaurant. By far the best in the area. And cheap. As stated in another review, the portions are large. We shared a dinner and had leftovers. We have tried so many Chinese restaurants in the area and were always disappointed. We had basically given up eating Chinese on this side of town. We won't be going anywhere else. This place needs more business. I would hate if it closed. Go there, you won't be sorry!

My first concern about started when I walked by during lunch and no one was in there. My second concern was when I called the first number printed on the to-go menus they sent out, and was directed to an as-of-yet not set up voicemail box. My third and final concern came when I called at dinner time on a Friday night, made a pretty big order, and was told by the guy answering the phone that my order would be ready to pick up in "5 to 10 minutes." At that point, I straight up asked the guy "is it already premade?" At which point he assured me that no no, it wasn't. So with a healthy dose of skepticism, and a back up plan of having ice cream for dinner if Chinese food didn't work out, my husband set out to pick up our food. He came back with hot, fresh and flavorful beef and veggies for me and sesame chicken for him. He ended up waiting awhile, so I think the guy on the phone just needs more practice with estimating cooking times. The hubby and I both really liked our entrees, but the apps (eggrolls, crab cheese wontons, and soups) were pretty meh. That being said, it is the best takeout Chinese we've had in Arvada, and we will be ordering from them again in the future. If you go by the text that accompanies the ratings on Yelp, I would probably only give them three stars, because I think they re A-ok, but wouldn't go so far as to call myself a fan. That being said, I think Yelpers have a tendency to rate places pretty low. For what it is--A Chinese restaurant in a strip mall in the suburbs--it's good. Seacrest out!

We were staying in a hotel closely and decided to try J's based on the many positive reviews here on Yelp and elsewhere. I'm eating the food as I type this, and I must say, the experience has been 100% excellent. The guy taking the order was easy to understand and was friendly. Ordered on a Saturday night at 5pm - they said it was going to take 45-1hr to deliver and it was faster - like 35 mins. Ordered steamed dumplings, egg rolls, and two orders of sesame chicken. Dumplings were great and their sauce was sweeter than the stuff I'm used to. Egg rolls, albeit on the thin side, were tasty, crispy and not too much "roll". Sesame chicken is delicious. I was concerned about the smallish nuggets, but I was surprised to notice the quality of the meat within. Usually you get some sesame chicken with fatty, chewy, or over-doughed nuggets. Not here. All food was delivered HOT, just like another reviewer mentioned. My only complaint, if that's what you could call it, was the young lady that came to deliver the food came unprepared to make change of bills?!? I mean, what are people thinking? Sadly, I didn't have single to tip her and she only got ~$.50 tip. Maybe she'll come better prepared next time? Certainly try this place if you are in the area, either visiting or living.

Really enjoyed the food and obviously so do a lot of other people they were busy! The egg drop soup was the best I've had. The pan fried dumplings were a hit with the kids. I had the Singapore Rice Noodles and the were amazing. We will be back for sure!

My wife and I both tried J's Cafe for the first time last night. We are really particular about Asian food, and we both loved our food. She had the sesame chicken and I had chicken chow fun. The serving sizes are gargantuan and the prices extremely reasonable. We got takeout, but the restaurant looked very clean when I picked up our dinner. The young lady who took our order and who I think was one of the family members was incredibly friendly. This is the type of small business that I love to support.

By far the best Chinese take out in Denver metro reminds me of Chinese food back in the bay area ca

SKIP this food..All I can say is bland. VERY Americanized, no soul, no flavor "Asian food". We went in ate, a group of 6 people. We all ordered different items ( Sesame chicken, triple meat in garlic sauce, kung pao, shrimp in garlic, a rice bowl, and happy family) . Each item was bland, not made correctly at all and expensive. I would suggest anywhere in the city before this place. Kind of a waste of money, the food is poor quality, thrown together. OK soups.

Main take away from this place it has just about the best Asian cuisine you can in the area. I got the orange chicken and was surprised to see a very healthy portion. It was awesome. Great flavor, not over sauces, and still retained some good crisp to it. Highly recommended. .. I will definitely be returning.

I love this place! Not only is the girl at the front really kind and awesome, but the food is reasonably priced and top notch! J's is always a good idea!

So we didn't eat the food here because I was just craving boba and for some unknown reason that's the only place around here that I could find with boba. We walk in and it looks nice but as I sat waiting for our bobas.... I got a strong smell that reminded me of a nail salon. Idk but I would like to eat my food without smelling the strong chemicals of nail products. Idk why it smelled that way considering there's isn't a salon next door but anywho. Our boba comes and it's pretty small for $4 a drink. I was already disappointed with the lack of flavored but then we took a sip and it was horrid. The boba was unreasonably chewy and the drink itself was watered down and icey. I kinda feel like if you can't get boba right, I don't want to try your food! Sorry but not giving this place another chance.

Here for lunch. The service started out ok, I am sitting here waiting and waiting to pay for my horrid food. I ordered off the lunch menu. When I took a bite of my egg roll, the contents came out in one horrid molded together bite. Not freshly made at all. The spicy pork was a pile of pork and veggies drowned in a cloyingly sweet sauce. They had the nerve to serve it with a side of that bright pink sweet and sour sauce. Still waiting to pay.......never again. Yuck

This is one of our favorite Chinese delivery place. They have great prices and quick delivery. Their food is generally pretty good. Sometimes are better others.

This is the best Chinese food that I have found since moving to Arvada. We had up until recently frequented a different place, but this is much better. They also have a very wide variety including some Thai, Japanese, and Vietnamese. For our first delivery order we went with sesame chicken and some rare steak pho. I was very happy with both! It's pretty rare to find a place where you can find good pho to bring home. All of the items that go in pho were present, including the raw meat! I was worried that they would just dump everything in leaving me with soggy noodles and gross meat...but everything was fresh on the side ready for me to add. I did need to add some extra things I have at home such as fish sauce and some extra hoisin...but NBD really. I'm interested to try their pad thai given the mixed reviews of it that are currently present. I feel like everyone has different taste when it comes to pad thai though...it's kind of a hard thing to review. The prices were cheap/average, and the food was here in like 20 minutes. We will definitely be ordering again soon!!!!!

Review is for food. Not eat in experience. Food was good had and tasty. Eating in at night was a note. No one there but take out orders. Service was good and food came fast. For a simple dinning experience good. If you want more than it is not that.

Very pleasantly surprised! I am from New York City so I was nervous to try Chinese food out here. I got the veggie chow fun. It was delicious. Also, it included all normal looking veggies as opposed to some of the unidentifiable ones that might appear in some Chinese restaurants. One more thing, the portions are huge. My dish could have easily fed 2-3 people. I will be having the leftovers for lunch tomorrow.

So for some reason my previous review of this place was removed for violating Terms? Not sure how I did that since it was a 5-star review I stood behind for 3 years. I've loved and ordered from J's almost weekly since 2011 or very early 2012. I've spent a ton of money there. But over the last several months the quality has gone dramatically downhill. The final straw was the last time I ordered. I used to love the rare steak pho but I cannot eat beef anymore so I ordered it with grilled chicken instead. They charged me $3 extra!!! Chicken is much cheaper than steak why are you charging me??? Not only that, the chicken wasn't grilled and was so rubbery I couldn't chew it. The broth was just off and had too much oil and floaties. The consistency isn't there in the garnish. Sometimes you get green onion sometimes not. The basil is sometimes very wilted or crinkly. I ended up trashing my whole, $18 pho. Huge sadness J's. Please re-evaluate and come back to the amazing, yummy, high quality, fresh place you were. Let me know when.

This is the best Asian restaurant I know of in the area. Arvada and Westminster are heavy on fast food, and most of the Asian restaurants are either Pho or $1 scoop places. J's Cafe is of the "Asian fusion" variety, and it's fantastic. I've ordered delivery from them before, but don't generally bother to rate restaurants the first time or two. (I don't tend to rate mediocre food, either. I have to be either excited or irate to even bother.) Anyway, last night J's Cafe was so busy that I was unable to get through to them by phone, and both of their numbers kept ringing through to voice mail, which is what their phone does when they're on other calls. So my adorable boyfriend drove down there to order and retrieve the food. I got the crab cheese wontons and beef skewers as appetizers, and the green curry, with shrimp added to it. I was amazed at the big slabs of beef on the skewers, and they were more tender and juicy than I've ever had anywhere. There were a half dozen large wontons in the single order, and I could taste the crab in them--an ingredient I suspect is left out at some restaurants. The green curry is fairly mild, but I don't mind. The portions of everything are large enough to feed me through the rest of the weekend, even though I'll be sharing a little of it.

Pretty good food usually get beef and broccoli, sesame chicken. The pho is actually pretty good but the one thing i dislike is the viet egg rolls, those things are nasty. Its like they put a piece of sausage in an egg roll. Definitely dont recommend getting those.

They were great about catering to my picky order! Dolish food! We had drunken noodles and pad Thai and enjoyed both!

Ok, so when you pull up you are immediately turned off because it is in a strip mall but make sure you go in! The service was great! The mango boba was filled with lots of "beads" and so refreshing and delicious! I ordered the orange chicken and it was good, little sweet but good nonetheless! Order the crab cheese wontons to start, they were hot and creamy crab heaven!

I was craving some Asian food & picked J's Cafe off of Yelp because it had 4-1/2 stars. I also mistook it for another strip mall Asian place nearby on Federal, where a previous visit proved most tasty & convenient for a meeting halfway between Denver & Boulder. The fried dumplings were a promising sign, but regrettably ended up being the best part of the meal. These potstickers had a mystery meat quality to them, but the dipping sauce was spiced up to be much more delicious than usual, leaving me well appetized and hopeful the rest of our order would be a cut above the norm. Downhill it went from there... The chow fun was bland and unsatisfying. And the orange beef was so sweet it was practically inedible, not at all spicy as indicated on the menu. Be advised J's has no liquor license. No beer with our Chinese dinner was disappointing. Most of J's business appears to be take-out, so I'm probably in the minority of their customers with respect to requiring beer. The portions were big, so maybe other reviewers consider J's a good value for their price. Any place rated with 4-1/2 stars should be worth driving out of my way, but the experience here left me wanting for more than cheap mediocre stuffing.

Portions are good size on lunch special. Sesame chicken good a little too sweet but good the beef broccoli was bland. Also ordered the pad Thai huge portion but couldn't eat more than two bites. Tasted like lemon furniture polish. Also too sweet. Told them we didn't like it but still was charged. Which was ok can't like everything but kind of hoped they wouldn't charge us. Won't be back

Food is good, ambience is not, and I had to deduct a star for the intentionally obfuscating menu. Never quite sure what you're paying for here.

Best Chinese we've ever had! They are always fast and fresh on their delivery and prices are comparable to other places but give larger portions. It's rare to find a place with great wontons and egg rolls, but this place has it!

This is the best chinese restaurant in the area. The food is always excellent, big portions, pho is also great. Lunch menu is also big portions, quick service and good. Owner (someone who looks like the owner) is usually sitting in a booth not doing anything, but there is an older woman who works her butt off!!! highly recommend this place

Yum! Great Asian takeout. Big portions = leftovers! Egg drop soup is delish. As is the drunken noodle. Pad Thai was alright. Fast service, polite employees. I will def be eating here again!

Food is flavorful and fresh. I've tried more then a few items here and have been pleased with all of them so far. They have a great meal deal that comes with an entree, rice, soup, a wonton, and egg roll.

My folks and I where busy all day and ordered delivery. Very fast. I had them make me a vegetable dish only and add cashews in garlic sauce yum, yum. My parents had orange chicken, dad commented on the good taste and fresh oranges cut up and placed into the dish once cooked. Fresh flavors, always a winner. We will be ordering again..

Oh my shattered nerves! I have been ruined for life working in the best Chinese restaurant on the east coast. New to this neighborhood, so I thought I would give them a shot. Although just a simple dish of chicken and vegetables, it was outstanding! What a great assortment of broccoli, snow pea, bok choy, water chestnut and more. It comes in a beautiful brown sauce that is not too heavy so you can fully appreciate the chicken and vegetables cooked perfectly. They do not bother with the useless baby corn. I must say, I am a fan of their hot and sour along with the vegetable egg roll. Their homemade hot mustard is really hot, and I love heat! On that note, the second time I ordered chicken with vegetables hot and spicy, it was no joke. Did they saturate it with hot chili oil, only to make it greasy? No, they tipped me off by putting an enormous Asian pepper in the center of my dish. No sacrifice of flavor here by using superior ingredients. My head sweat and it was awesome! I would give them five stars, but need to experiment with their menu some more.

I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to Chinese food. We have been going to J's for years now because they are extremely friendly, the food is CONSISTENTLY delicious and fresh and the prices are great. We love J's! plus they deliver! : ) Our personal favorites are the beef fried rice, sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, chicken and vegetables, veggie egg foo young & the egg rolls. All so delicious, fresh, every time.

Great place w good fresh Chinese food. I've been eating here for 3 years now. Prices are very reasonable. Only problem I have is when I search yelp for chinese food when I'm in their area, J's does not appear. It only show up under "cafes"

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
