Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

My wife and I had horrible service, while we waited to be seated we ordered margaritas at the bar, might as well be drinking kool aid. Finally seated and ordered. 45 minutes later we never received our food nor anyone else around us. Inquired with the server, manager never came by, We got up and left they probably never noticed. Plenty of excellent restaurants around, will never be back. Now they are being fascists on the parking lot and towing people. They are probably still waiting on their food!

I usually find their food good, but yesterday I had menudo and it was watery, not much tripe and sent it back. Waiter then asked me if I wanted something else in place and I said ok, and ordered Soapapillas... then some some reason they brought me an other order of menudo which I didn't' want, but since I was being charged for it, I brought it home...

We really want to like this place. It is so close to us. That being said, we've been here three times, and this was our worst visit yet. It took 40 minutes to get our food! Yes, you heard right! And, my husband had cold rice and lukewarm beans with his chili rellano. My burrito was just lukewarm. The waitress kept apologizing, but we received no comp on our bill. UPDATE!!!!! Well we had a new waitress and she rocked! Ashley was attentive, efficient, and a whole lot of fun! Our food came out promptly and was hot! What a difference! We will be back! And...... We will ask for Ashley!

Food was good. Service was good. Portions were big. Price was good value. The hot green chili was spicy enough.

Food was excellent, but... Restaurant was fairly empty and we were sat right away. Our server was very nice but we waited a very long time for our food. We told her it felt too long but there was nothing comped on our bill. Same song was stuck on repeat and drove us crazy. The relleno was perfect. We'd go back and try sitting at the bar for a quick meal next time. We'd also choose this place before 3 Margaritas any day, even with the long food wait. Prices seemed good.. Most small combos were around $8.50.

I would rather eat Taco Bell than eat here...and why they've reserved tons of parking and tow anyone in those spots, I do not know..they'll be out of business soon. I give it less than a year. The parking spots aren't taken because no one eats here because the food is a nightmare. Head on down the road to 92nd to 3 margaritas!! Get some good Mexican food there instead.

We came to Corona's for dinner last week...Even though it has sub par reviews....i decided to give it a try and see for myself.. I will say the lay out is kind of funky ....not my fav.. We get sat and our waitress is friendly and we order drinks ...she was fast and took our order...We don't eat meat so ask for veggie options ...our food comes and the burrito has meat...So she has to take it back ... The plate comes back corrected and it was pretty tasty considering its greasy cheesy americanized mexican food.... Our waitress was pleasent and the food was good.... She really tried hard to please us and that is so important to me... Who really knows if we will be back.... a lot of other places to try.... i had to see for myself and it was ok.. ;)

Awesome food and great service. I tried the posole and it was VERY good! My husband loves their mini chile rellenos. We don't eat out at mexican food restaurant often because we own one. But we will be back to Coronas for sure

Been here three times and every time the service and food were great! Looking forward to going back soon. I had a margarita on one of the visits and if anything, it had too much alcohol. The green chile is very good and if you like the fried foods like me, it's excellent. The ambience is fantastic and has plenty of parking. I've been there both when it was busy and when it was off peak and the service was consistently good.

Food is very bland ; taste like everything came out of a can; the guacamole had no flavor what so ever I would not recommend

This place is SO busy, and I don't get why. I thought the salsa was a standout - you could taste the green chiles, but the relleno was meh, the enchilada sauce was horrific, and the beef burrito was straight up gross. Took 10 minutes to get our drink orders taken...she was so nice, but lacking majorly. Sopapillas with caramel was a highlight. I wouldn't come back.

Service was great, food came out fast and was delicious. Reasonable price and great atmosphere!

Terrible! While waiting for our food (20+ minutes in the restaurant of 11 people) our chips and salsa tasted like Ragu sauce and the chips looked like crumbs from the bottom of the bag. I tried the steak tacos, which arrived cold, tough to chew, and flavorless. While being ignored by our waitress, whom was quite busy on her cell phone, I tracked down a manager, asked her to try the food, and she refused, and I don't blame her! Not to mention the over priced drinks! Save yourself the trouble and avoid this one!

Whoa, just hold your horses there. In all fairness, they just opened up. I'll be back, but it's lacking something...well it's lacking everything but newness. There is no spice... There server was nice... Margs are overpriced Mashed potatoes didn't suffice.. So my side was rice Rooftop will entice Lower the price, it shouldn't be a heist.

Our server (dude) was really smiley and nice They put cheese on everything (and charge you extra) I got a side of black beans and they dumped a boat load of cheese on it. Rice is all made in chicken broth (no vegetarian option) Skinny margarita: don't order it. Too much fruit & not enough tequila! (See photo)

We've must have gotten lucky! Food came out hot and quickly. Server was nice. Margs... Don't bother. No alcohol, just sugar water with a hint of lime. Gross.

Came here with high expectations based on enthusiastic recommendations from a friend. Pretty long wait so we sat at the bar. Bartender messed up all drink and food orders. Not exaggerating. He forgot to get us chips and salsa even after 2 requests for it. Took just under an hour to take our food orders. Messed up both of them. Forgot drink order. Reminded him 15 minutes later. Took him 15 more to bring it. They were busy but that is no excuse for the worst service of my life. Our bartender seemed more like an untrained busboy with no sense of urgency. No apologies or comps to retain business. Food was just ok. Nothing to get excited about.

We had a party of four and everyone thought it was really good food. The service was great. I like the big booths. I also liked how they spread people out rather than jam everyone in a small area.

For only being open a short while we encountered a few quirks with servers and bartenders not being as "on their game" as you might expect with a seasoned restaurant. That being said, our bartender handled a difficult couple giving him an inquisition about the margarita ingredients and in the end managed to turn them into appreciative customers who learned a bit about each of the margaritas. We dined in the bar area since the dining area had a long wait. We also wanted to catch a SNF game and there are 3 or 4 good size TVs if you're interested in watching any sports while you eat. I ordered the plata margarita because it seemed to be the least of the options that would have a lot of unnecessary "fluff" ingredients. I chose the Don Julio silver tequila and the drink was mixed well. It was a bit on the sweet side for my taste, but not a bad margarita overall. The chips & salsa were mediocre. Mainly because the house salsa was too heavy on the tomato flavor & not spicy enough for our tastes. However, we ordered the salsa verde which was really good mixed in with the house salsa. For those liking spicier salsa - just ask for an extra cup of the salsa verde to have along with the house salsa. We ordered the stuffed sopapilla (with carnitas) and the carnitas plate. Each plate comes with a choice of two sides - we had the black beans and the rice. The black beans are topped with queso fresco and are a little on the salty side. The stuffed sopapilla was tasty and the green chile it was smothered in was also pretty good. The carnitas was also very satisfying - crisp on the outside and nice & tender on the inside. It was served with tortillas and a few slices of avocado. Next time, I will ask them to just smother the carnitas in green chile. I used the salsa verde when I made the carnitas tacos. We'll be back to check them out again - especially once the upstairs patio opens.

You know after having dinner here I was surprised to see their rating so low. Sure it's not a unique and amazing place, but based on the location and look I wasn't expecting anything more than what I got. The food was typical of any Mexican family restaurant. I had the tamales and my fiancé had the fajita burrito. The green chile sauce they smother with is amazing. Medium was hot enough for me and my fiancé enjoyed the hot. Their meat (we both got carnitas) is cooked very well and is delicious. The only thing we would like to see improved upon is their free chips and salsa. The salsa is watery and bland and the chips are almost stale. They have good deals for happy hour drinks. Definitely will be back since we live in the area.

So I was there last night I figured a week after opening should give em time but I was kind of let down. I've been hoping for a spot to chill and have a awesome steak burrito and wash it down with a tasty margarita up north here. I had the steak and avocado burrito. Portion and presentation got an A but the taste was missing something, like my steak was just grilled and thrown in there. For drinks I had the Italian margarita and an house margarita. The Italian for the price and having 3 different liqueurs in it you would think it would be a bit more potent but it was just meh... The house marg was 6$ which is about average but mime tasted more like margarita mix with a splash of tequila. My buddy got the michalada (I think I spelt that right) and he said it was way more tomato juice then beer. On to the service. I think our bartender might be new because after who I assume was the owner greeted us and set us down promptly we waited close to 5 minutes maybe more to be acknowledged sitting at the bar. After that we had to stop him to put in the rest of our orders. I will give it a few weeks and try it again, until then I'll be driving to Benny's still for my Italians and steak burritos!

We tried last night, Friday, opening night. They were slammed, it took forever. I will want to try it again, soon, when the kinks are worked out. The food was good.

I was there on 10/14/2014 about 5pm the place was' t crowded and it still took almost a half hour to get salsa and chips. The salsa was bland and tasteless, and the chips had a burned taste. Ordering was another story. The menu looks good but the waiter didn't listen to my wife's order and looked toNi me to order her food. The overall service is poor, it is slow and non - attentive. It was almost impossible to get anyone to the table. Our orders took more than 40 minutes to reach the table. The food was poorly prepared, the chicken in the stuffed sopapilla dry and tasteless and the green chill sauce was equally as bad. This is not a place to go to if you want a good Mexican dinner, on a scale of 1 to 10, 1 being extremely bad and 10 being extremely good, this place scores almost a 1. Stay away! !!

I read the bad reviews and wanted to try it out for ourselves. We loved it. The salsa was good, margaritas were really yummy. I had the fajita burrito and it was fantastic. My husband had the combo #8 and loved it. Our son had the burger and it was even decent. Will go back for sure. Service was good too.

Ok. Been here twice. First, was really excited to have a Coronas near me. Several folks I know RAVE about the Broomfield location. I know it's the same family that owns this location, so had high expectations. First time the hubby and I went. It was busy. No big deal. We waited about 30 minutes and had been told 45-50. The hostesses were pleasant. Loved the remodel of the location. We had been here when it was still La Estrellitas. Nice changes! So was seated. One girl brought chips and salsa. Chips were cold. Salsa was meh. We waited. And waited. And waited. This was just to be greeted by our server and order drinks. I ordered the house margarita. Hubby ordered a beer. For me, how good a restaurants margaritas are depends on their house. The marg prices were kind of high IMO. We also asked for water. We weren't ready to order, and figured by the time drinks came we would be ready. Server did not ask if we had any questions. We waited. And waited. And waited. We waited long enough to finish off the first basket of chips and still waited. Another table near us, sat, ordered drinks, got drinks, ordered food and we still did not have drinks or water. They had a better server. Hubby got up to tell hostess that we were still waiting. She found our server and finally got our drinks. At least they were cold. The house margarita was nothing special. Not to sweet or tart. Kind of watered down. Hubby's beer was cold. Can't screw up draft beer. Finally had order taken. I ordered the Chili Rellanos and hubby ordered a create your own combo. Chip girl came by and brought us more chips (cold) and salsa. We waited. And waited. Finished another basket of chips because at this point we had been seated an hour! Starving. We watched the table with the good server get there food. Another table near us was still waiting too and kept looking around. Food came. Now, I love cheese. Like love cheese. But there was way too much cheese in top of my everything on my plate. I scrapped a bunch to the side. Rice and beans were bland. Rellanos were ok. Hubby's combo was ok. Some of the beef in the tacos was bland, others were super spicy. No balance. Waited forever for the check. We chalked the night up as opening weekend bugs. Returned this past weekend with the teenager in tow. It wasn't busy. Was seated in the same area as the first time, but different server. Drinks, chips came quickly and order taken right away. Chips were warm this time. Salsa was still meh. I ordered gorditas mamas, shredded beef. Hubby ordered tacos al carbon. Teen ordered tamales. We waited. And waited. And waited. Mexican food doesn't usually take 30 minutes to get after ordering. Food finally came. Teen said tamales weren't bad, but the chili wasn't that great. He didn't care for the beans and rice either. He loves Mexican food and usually will have nothing left on his plate. Not this time. Hubby was not impressed with his tacos al carbon. My gorditas were on a not too warm plate. Watched a couple near us have their fajitas brought out. Usually fajitas are crazy, sizzling hot . Nothing. She seemed concerned, but still ate it. Not sure if I would have. I'm used to the screaming hot plates at any other Mexican restaurant in the area. We waited forever for our check. We waited to get our credit card back too. We probably won't be back. Disappointed. Coronas Arvada needs to figure things out and quick. I'll stick with Jack n Grill or 3 Margaritas. They have great service, good food and drinks, and good prices!

This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Food was amazing. The salsa was fresh and good the Mexican burger was awesome and the shredded beef tostadas were great. I'll be coming back

I've seen a bunch of negative reviews here, but we have never had a bad experience. The food is great (and I'm a snob with Mexican food) and the service is very good. Anybody who shows up on a weekend night should expect a wait. This is a popular restaurant for a reason. Only been here about a half dozen times since it opened, but favorites... Steak Tampiquena, Pozole, fresh Guac, crunchy Chile Rellenos. Oh, and the margaritas are tasty too. We'll keep coming back.

Very dissapointing experience for the second time since this location has opened. We ended up ordering from the host after complaining twice that we did not have a server. The host also brought us water, in dirty glasses. The appetizer came out with the meal, which was incorrect. I once again had to hunt down the server to get our bill and pay. The only good thing I have to say about our experience is that the host and hostess were very nice.

Went for dinner. we were greeted by friendly hostess. We asked to be seated in a booth she said it would be about 10 to 15 minute wait for a booth. We were the only family waiting for a booth, other families came and were seated immediately. I would think they sat at tables. From the waiting area we could see several booths that were not occupied. After a 15 minute wait the hostess sat us in one of the unoccupied booths we could actually see from the waiting area. There were about 9 empty booths in that area. our server was prompt and her bus person was quick with drinks, chips, salsa. the service was good and the food came in a timely manner. My wife ordered the stuffed sopapilla filled with carnitas. It came smothered with green chile and cheese. She said it was very good. and prepared very well. The grandkid had a build it yourself combo. he did not say much other than it was good. it must have been good cause he ate it very quickly even though I said to slow down. Don't even know if he tasted it. I ordered the combo number 4. It was prepared very well. The chile rellano was tasty the bean and beef burrito was good. the tostada came on a separate plate which was a pleasant surprise it was not soggy. I enjoyed the cheese enchilada nice flavor. I had the green chile mixed half and half medium and hot. Lots of food. We had to ask for containers to take some of the food home, except for the grandkid. He ate all his. I also ordered the house margarita it was nothing special. It was a bit overpriced. We have eaten at 3 margaritas and now Corona's. We all agree it is much better than the 3 Margaritas. To sum it up, food was good and priced about right for the amount you get, nice atmosphere, clean cause it is a newly renovated restaurant. We really liked the size of the booth and the high backs. Service was quick. Getting seated was a bit disappointing cause there was plenty of empty booths and we had to wait. When we were leaving we saw a full waiting area of diners. We did not understand that cause we sat in a area of 9 to 10 still empty booths. there was no reason for all of those people to have to wait to be seated. We will go back for dinner again. It was a quick and enjoyable meal. it certainly is not fine dining at its best but ranks up there with good Mexican Restaurants in other parts of the Denver Metropolitan area.

A group of four went to Corona's for lunch. We were seated promptly, but that was the only good experience we had. Service was poor. It took 45 minutes until our food arrived. The waitress did not come and refill our water until the meal was finished. The Huevos Rancheros were terrible! The eggs were hard and overcooked although my daughter and I ordered over easy and over medium. Tortilla soup was disgustingly cold and tortilla chips soggy. Would never go there for another meal.

I've been to the other location and was not overly impressed. The experience I had at this new location was way worse. Thought I read online that happy hour was 4-6 on Saturday, but the waitress told me it was 5-7. We arrived at 4:30. Ordered a margarita...nothing exciting. I ordered a bean & cheese burrito. I asked for a vegetarian sauce & she said they had a red salsa. It came out smothered in enchilada sauce. Fine, but not what I was expecting. The burrito had s different taste too. Figured out it was a corn tortilla vs flour. I hate corn tortillas. I told the waitress what I thought happened & she asked if she could take a look at it? I said sure. She then scraped the sauce off & inspected it. She told me it was flour not corn. Hmmm!! Tried to order another drink at 4:55...but waited 5 more min since it wasn't "happy hour" yet. Odd dining experience & it was not busy. Doubtful I would go back.

Decent food. Chronically understaffed. 3/4 times we've been in, there has been a wait but many empty tables. Two of those times we were told there was a 10-15 minute wait but in reality the wait was 20-40 minutes. Twice we've had our dinner order ready by the time we were asked for our drink order. We did eat at the bar once an had excellent service. Today it took over an hour to get our food and things were forgotten and the order wasn't accurate. When it first opened we figured they needed time to iron out the kinks but service has actually gotten worse.

The only positive part of our visit tonight was the beautiful decor, other than that, we were very disappointed. For the most part, the food was awful. Bland, and soggy. It didn't help that it was cold, because the waitress brought out one tray, then took another table's order, disappeared for awhile, brought another tray, then disappeared again. The manager came to cheerfully ask how it was, without noticing that 3 people were missing their food and no one had started eating yet. 20 minutes after the first round came out everyone finally had their food. It was obvious that the food was left sitting in the kitchen. The enchilada sauce was inedible. The beef in what should have been a beef and bean burrito was just wet beef, not a hint of seasoning. No one at the table was satisfied with their meal, and the waitress cheerfully cleared the mostly full plates without blinking an eye. A beautiful remodel does not make up for terrible food, we will not be back.

Five of us went for lunch today. Wife had a #1 combo & I had beef enchiladas "home style" with their colorado sauce. Our food was bland to the extreme and the word "glop" came to mind. We thought briefly about our meals being better if we had ordered other than mild but concluded we would have only gotten spicier glop.... something was missing, Flavor! One of our party liked his enchiladas (regular style) his wife does not eat much anyway so who knows on that one. Fifth person choked hers down she said afterward.

I absolutely love the location on 136th and Huron.. This one..not so much. I was very disappointed that the food was not even close to tasting like their another location. Might try it again in a few weeks. Otherwise I will done at their better location.

Was excited when I walked in but the experience went down hill from there. The staff said 10 minutes the wait was 35 minutes, order the Taco Al Carbon, nothing the menu stated was on the dish. The rice had Lima beans, green beans, peas and carrots which where clearly frozen. DO NOT EAT HERE. Service, food and experience are terrible.

We've been several times and have had no wait, good food. I was impressed with the extremely full taco a-la-cart. The medium green chili was too spicy (should have been listed as hot) but it has good flavor. I do have a high heat tolerance so be careful. The salsa was yummy and we got several refills. My son and my husbands food has been good. Yes, they could lower their price a touch and a few more happy hour deals, but overall a good value. We will be back.

Arrived about 1:00 for lunch. Had to try the place out as we've heard both good & bad. Ours was very good. My lady had a bean &cheese smothered burrito & I had a Carnitas with beans. She ordered mild, me medium. Got what we ordered. My pork was perfect! No fat & no grizzle--just pork. We will be going back shortly for supper & margaritas. We've been very disappointed with a # of Mexican restaurants in the past 2-3 yrs & hope this one will be a keeper.

Food was ? Drinks were ? Can't give a review on actually eating here because we and several other people just waited in the lobby like fools watching what I assumed to be employees of the place just walk by ignoring everyone. This was about 4pm on Saturday. I guess there was no host on. While sitting there contemplating just leaving, which we ultimately did, I looked up the phone number and called the restaurant from the lobby. Of course no one answered the phone either. How sad.

I was expecting better. My family and I went in during a Bronco game thinking it wouldn't be very busy and we could get in and out quickly. The waitress was friendly but unorganized. Three out of our four orders came out wrong.. Not sure if the kitchen or the waitress was at fault but the waitress should have caught the mess up. The prices weren't too bad. I realize this they haven't been open long. We may go back in a month or so to see if they have gotten it together. I hope they do. There aren't very many good Mexican restaurants in the area.

Our first and will be last visit last night - service was consistent with Coronas at two locations (iffy at best). There were 12 in our party - and only 2 people said - "food was good" - . Pretty pitiful. I had the steak fajitas - the meat overcooked and lack of flavor and the flour tortillas were dried out - almost hard. The carnitas were also flavorless and the corn tortillas were also bland and dried out. The two mexican pizzas were probably the best of the 12 entrees but had better at the other location. Had to ask for chips/salsa several times. Overall - not impressed :( if we choose to come back -it will be at the North location -which the service is always inconsistent but the food is usually decent.

For the food itself this restaurant would get probably four or five stars. My kids had the carne Asada. And my wife and I had the Carnitas. We were served chips and salsa right away but it took them over 20 minutes to get us our drinks. Even just water. To waitressed seem to only have about eight tables and it didn't seem that busy but we never seem to get her attention. We were there and hour and a half and my wife never received one refill on water nor was she asked for one. They forgot our sauce that we ordered special. they forgot our tortillas. When we were ready for our checks and a to go box we had d to ask three times in order to get it. The waitress brought our to go boxes and gave them to someone who was still eating, at another table. I think she forgot we were the ones that asked for it. So we had to ask again. Go back because the food was pretty good but only when I have a long time to dine

This restaurant COULD be a staple in our community; but they just can't seem to get it together. The renovation is beautiful, I only wish they would have a better training program. There seems to be a disconnect between the front and back of the house, ticket times are long and the staff is always stessed. We usually sit at the bar, Tony and Travis are great and personable. Most of our other visits have been sub-par...food varies depending on the kitchen staff. I hope this restaurant will survive, in a small community where word of mouth can make or break you.

Maybe it's bc they are new? Not sure but this place is so so. The vegetarian selections were okay and the service was plain awful. It's crowded but they can't manage it. I love 3 margaritas across the street and hacienda and corona ' s will not last with such great places near by. I don't see what the fuss.is about this place. Maybe they will improve but restaurants should try their hardest when they are new. This one did not even meet expectations -.food left a lot to be desired and the service was jusy okay.

We were there around 6:30 on a Sunday night. They were pretty empty and the server we had was serving 1 other table that I could see. She was extremely nice, but was a horrible server. Took her almost 15 minutes to get our draft beers to our table. We then ordered right away and it took over 40 minutes to get the food, and when we did get it my husbands was wrong. The food was VERY greasy, very bland, and very overpriced. We will not be back! Only reason for the 2 star rating is because the work they put into the building itself is amazing! They obviously put a ton of money into remodeling the building, too bad they didn't put as much into the food quality and customer service training.

  • Heidi M.

The first time we went, it was good. Good customer service and good food. The second, not so much. It took 20 minutes just to get our beers. 2 Corona's. All they had to do was pop the tops. The toastadas were soggy. I couldn't even eat them and service was extremely slow. Today, we put in a to go for lunch. My boyfriend was told the bartender would be the one to help him. Once he went over to the bartender, he was completely ignored. We won't be back and I don't think this place will last long. New or not, your staff should know what good customer service is. If they don't, they are in the wrong industry.

The place is a great building and great location. The service wasn't horrible but wasn't amazing either. My fiancee and I went on a Sunday night, so not to terribly busy. The server was sweet and we could tell she was busy so drinks took a bit. The drinks were good. I got a corona Rita and my man got a marg. overall food was average. Could use some authenticity. Would come back though, we are texas natives and miss tex-mex!

Tried coronas for the first time last Thursday, and it was some of the worst food I have ever been served at a restaurant. I ordered the tacos al Carbon and they came out soggy and unseasoned. The waitress also screwed up multiple things on our order and seemed generally lost. With all the great Mexican options in CO, coronas needs to seriously step up their game.

I have been reluctant to try this place because of the reviews but it's so close to my house we figured we would give it a shot. We had awesome service and both really enjoyed our food. One of us had a carnita burrito and the other ordered fajitas. The portions were generous and we were stuffed only part way through. We will visit again for sure!

I was hoping it wasn't as bad as the reviews. No such luck. Ordered the #8. Taco, flauta, and cheese enchilada. The taco and flauta were supposed to be shredded beef, they brought me ground. It didn't matter. They are having some fish taco special, and both of those things tasted like fish. I think the beans came out of a can, and the rice from a box. The salsa wasn't necessarily bad, there was just something weird about it. I won't be back. The service was mediocre at best. Not a good place. I'm disappointed.

Had dinner there last week - waitress had too many tables - slow at taking our order, did not re-fill our drinks. Food came out cold and very small portions of rice and bean - I mean very small portions. No taste. Had to ask for chips and salsa. Staff needs training! I would not recommend.

(See photo)

WORST service ever!!!! Restaurant was empty, our server checked on us once in an hour refilled one drink... I told him we just wanted to pay for our drinks and leave he said with a smile ok!? There were 5 in our party... As we were getting up to leave our food was coming out, he tells the food runner to take it back they don't want it... I told the manager she didn't care either... Now we are across the street at 3 Margaritas where the service is unmatched and the food is always fast and delicious, never again will we go to any Coronas restaurant....

The service sucked the waitress was rude... First time we went they screwed up my fiances food he ordered a shredded beef burrito with no beans all rice.. They brought him a shredded chicken then they took it back and brought over a shredded beef and BEAN burrito and he said NO BEANS. The margarita sucked its pre made and it wasn't strong just tasted like margarita mix took forever for the manager to come out so we just left we recommend jack-n-grill and armadillo!!!! Coronas SUCKS BALLS!!!!!!

Terrible!!! We were really hoping for a good Mexican restaurant in Arvada, but this is not it. The service was horrible. It is the worst service I have had in years, and it was not that busy. The food ranged from ok, to terrible, depending who at our table you asked. The food came to the table cold and had to be sent back. It took forever for us to get the food back. Their red chile tasted like thick catsup. We had to ask three times for our check and for a box. I finally stood up in the middle of the dining room to try to get someone to help us and we had been there almost an hour and a half for a simple lunch. I honestly think the food is better at Taco Bell and it would not have taken 90 minutes and cost almost $70 for four adults and a kiddo. We will not go back. I would not waste your time or money.

The worst tasting food ever. While the service was very good. The food was terrible. First it was very bland no seasoning at all.I order the beef gorditas.halfway thru my meal I took a bite of a piece of cold chicken meat.I showed it to my waitress and she will get me another plate.my daughter order the fish and chips. The fish had a terrible smell and taste to it almost like it had been set out over nite and refrozen.like I said the service was good we still left a tip for our server because it wasn't her fault. The place may be fairly new, but cooks should know how to cook a good meal no matter how old the restaurant is

We went on a Saturday night around 6:00 and were seated promptly, although it was a pretty full restaurant. We received chips and salsa as soon as we were seated and the salsa was tasty. Our waitress greeted us in timely manner and offered to take our order, or get our drinks and give us a few minutes. Upon her return, we were ready to order - a smoother burrito for me and a taco/relleno combo for my wife. SIDE NOTE TO ALL SERVE PEOPLE: please keep water glasses full, particularly if that is the only thing someone is drinking. After all we live in the desert that is Colorado. Anyway, our food arrive fairly quickly. It was warm, but not piping hot. The taste was pretty good, although I found the ground beef in the burrito to be mushy (which I detest). I am a fan of green chili and had the burrito smothered with their hot version. They also have medium and mild. The hot had a good taste and good heat. I may order just a cup of that next time. The taco on the combo plate was soggy, which seems to be a typical problem at Mexican food restaurants. The relleno was crispy and had good flavor. Did I mention I was only drinking water? I did get a refill after I was 80% done with my meal. That is one of my pet peeves. We did receive our check, paid, and got out of there at a good pace - not slow and not rushed. All in all I would rate Atmosphere 5; Service 4; Food 3; Overall 3. Not sure we would go back soon, since there are as good if not better Mexican food restaurants closer to our home.

Terrible service, mediocre food. Knowing they've only been open a few weeks, I set the bar pretty low, but they still managed to fall way, WAY short. I never trust a Mexican restaurant that doesn't have queso as an appetizer. Corona's only has a small side of queso that we tried, and it was awful. It just tasted off, like it was burned. Bleh. The rest of the food was extremely basic, no distinct flavors, no kick to any of the sauces, lukewarm to flat out cold upon delivery... again, bleh. Like another reviewer said, some of the food at Taco Bell is better, and I actually said that to my dining partner when we left. I would have honestly preferred a $.99 taco from Taco Bell with a free packet of fire sauce to the bland crap I just paid $13.99 for. We were tucked back in a corner, and completely ignored by our server. We didn't need anything during the meal, which is good because we weren't checked on at all during the meal either. But when it came time to get the check, that was a 15 minute process. Then when the wrong check was essentially flung on our table, with the server immediately disappearing, it was a full 20 minutes until I could track her down to get it corrected. I actually got up twice and ran after her through the crowded restaurant to give her the wrong check, and both times she disappeared. I finally followed her into the kitchen, and 10 minutes later the correct check was finally brought over. Not only did she not apologize, AT ALL, but her response was, verbatim, "That happens sometimes." It was at that point I made the decision to leave without paying, something I've never done, but my partner didn't want to skip out, so we paid, reluctantly left a ~12% tip, and will never return. Save yourself the disappointment in every aspect of the dining experience and head to 3 Margaritas across the street. It's better in every way.

Ok, we've tried this place twice and won't be back. First time, margaritas were virgin and food was below taco bell quality. Thinking it was just because they first opened we thought we'd give them a few weeks to do better job. We ordered beef and veggie enchiladas last night. First time the spaced out waitress brought them out they had the wrong sauce - sent them back and mine still had a wrong sauce but I didn't want to send them back again. The cheese was so heavy that we had to scrape it off, and they were tasteless and way over cooked. The mushrooms in my dish were like rubber and it was hard to cut the enchilada. The side salad was fresh and had a good variety of veggies. Sorry guys but there are many other Mexican restaurants in the area that are way better! I only gave you a two star because the salad was good.

  • Casey O.

The salsa tastes like tomato paste. Drinks are served in pilsner glasses which are nice; however the food is rather bland and lacks seasoning or any genuine Mexican flavor. If I had the choice to come here again I would drive a bit further and visit some other place.

  • Cher S.

The food was poor in quality, served cold and tasted awful. Service was acceptable. The price point was far too expensive for the greasy, congealed fare. Our order was incorrect as well. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. The waiter did ask us if we would like to have our food microwaved... This is the first time I have ever left that much food sitting on the table rather than taking it home with me! We usually love Mexican food, but this is one major exception to the rule.

Glad to see the unoccupied building hustling with cars again however, it was a disappointing visit. We were seated promptly by the friendly host into a newly renovated dining room with fresh decor. The menu was quite large something similar to 3 margaritas but not as diverse. We started with the mini rellenos with the hot green chili. It was layered in somewhat melted cheese, and boy did they mean mini. These tiny peppers were wrapped in quite a thick wrapper which almost had the texture of a bad egg roll. The taste was subpar. We then ordered our entrees and my girlfriends grandmother ordered a burger with simply cheese and bacon on it. Upon receiving, it came with all the trimmings, mushrooms, onions the works. We asked the food runner to fix the order and he agreed taking it back to the kitchen. When the server dropped off the second burger it came with the bun and patty. That's it. The server agreed to take it back to the kitchen. Round three the burger arrived as described and she couldn't wait to join the rest of the party at the table and eat with us. Sadly we were all finished with our food and the party turned into a pity party as we all watched grandma eat all by her lonesome. Sorry grandma. The other tables around us had similar long wait times. Some going through 3 baskets of chips and sometimes salsa. That's of course if you asked for it. And long wait times with 2.5 children can seem like walking through the valley of the shadow of death. After grandma finished her burger as we all twiddled our thumbs critiquing the way she chewed, we asked for our check and 10 minutes later we received the bill in all its full amount glory. Now we weren't looking for a free meal or waiting to pull my new jeans down for some make up kisses, but some acknowledgement of what happened with the burger would of been nice. An "I'm sorry" or communication of what was going on would have been appreciated. I approached the manager with our bill and he was apologetic saying he was aware of the situation.....? So why am I having to inform you? Later the server came back asking if everything was okay. WOW! Miscommunication seems to be the function of this new to the area restaurant. Corona with this being your third restaurant opening I would have hoped things were in order but with this first experience, I'll stick with 3 margaritas.

Had a similar experience as other reviewers. They definitely made great upgrades on the building interior and have funky glassware. Service was friendly but they were busy so it did take a while to get noticed in the bar area. Food honestly was meh and nothing more than what I can make at home. Salsa was good though.

Omg the worst experience I've ever had went for a late night dinner and our waitress ignored us most of the night our food was flat out grossing and over cooked when we brought it to Manger attention she looked at us and said she was sorry it was not up to our standards and then rolled her eyes once we left(refusing to pay for food we did not eat) finally our waitress noticed us and chased us out telling us we needed to pay it was extremely rude I will never go back and I don't recommend this place

Where to begin...first of all, you Yelpers who gave this place more than 1 star...we clearly ate at different restaurants. There was dried food on the outside of my drink glass, and it was clear from the lip-prints on my dinner companion's glass that neither one had been cleaned. Ew! The food was lukewarm, first of all. Isn't that some kind of health code violation? The enchilada sauce was directly from a can (OEP if I'm not mistaken), the beans were so runny you needed a spoon to eat them, the onions were very obviously frozen, the rice has almost no flavor at all, calabasitas is NOT a soup...and on and on. The green chile had no flavor, and not a hint of meat in it; I suspect it's also frozen or out of a jar or can. The prices were quite high for what was being offered. Needless to say we won't be going back.

Too bad zero stars doesn't exist. Long story short, came here for lunch. Server got our order wrong but told us she didn't. Brought out the right food and there was a hair in it. No apology, no manager , and still had to pay for the food that had the hair added. All we really wanted was an apology but we didn't get one of those either. Won't be back.

Wanted to try local restaurant for Mexican instead of driving all the way to El Pariso....mistake. This place us a little busy and not sure why. The food was very bland. Nothing was seasoned and even the hot chili was mild. Menudo wasn't seasoned and hominy added too soon making it mushy. Steak tacos were abismal. Steak seemed precooked and tough with again no flavor. Steak sopapillas had dessert sweet dough not regular. The multi dip appetizer was awful. The queso was what seemed melted cheddar with what tasted like chorizo grease and same for the spicy bean dip. They were terrible and not edible. Salsa and guacamole were average and ok. Green Chile not bad. They seemed understaffed and it took a while for drinks appetizers and food each time. Drink refills were sparce too but server was nice. Waited forever for our check too. It was just terrible. I didn't feel very well the rest of the day. I felt like I ate a plate of lard. El Pariso is far better and worth the drive. I don't think we will go back. Too bad. We need authentic and good Mexican in the area. Jack and Jill is even better locally. The building was renovated and nice. Wish I could say more positive.

YEA BOY! Food was super good and great waitress - Cindy. I had a monster combo (4 items) and my wife had the stuffed sopa. We both really enjoyed our meals and with half priced beers during happy hour, we have found our new Mexican restaurant. The Green chili has big chunks of pork and the medium temperature was just right. We will be back soon....... (Arvada location)

This is the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Wonderful staff, great selection of beer on tap. Will be returning often! The fajita burrito was amazing. The rice was also good, and I'm not a rice person. Recommending to all my friends and family.

My boyfriend thought this place was some other restaurant but when we parked he said he wanted to give it a try. He said they completely remodeled the inside and out. Once inside, I quickly found my way to the bar. We had to wait for a table and I needed a cocktail. I ordered a lemon drop martini and the waiter served me a sticky martini glass, with a very obviously old lemon peel ,and he made it with some sort of well vodka Gross. I forced myself to suck it down and I went back and told the same bartender to try that again with grey goose. He did hand me a better tasting drink in a clean glass but still had an old lemon peel on the side for garnish. So the bartenders were either over burdened or inexperienced. When I looked at the menu, I started getting nervous because they had way too much .. and when a place has too much that means they don't focus enough on making their dishes outstanding. I ordered a cheese enchilada a la carte. SO glad I did. what a disappointing plate of food, no flavor absolutely no spice. Taco bell has more to their items... The server was very nice and she was very attentive with us but the food could not be anymore blah . The place is new and so they wanted us to fill out the comment card and we were very honest about the service and the food. I hope they make a few changes and freshen things up .. but then again that would mean they would become a new restaurant and this would mean a new review.

The salsa tastes like tomato paste. Drinks are served in pilsner glasses which are nice; however the food is rather bland and lacks seasoning or any genuine Mexican flavor. If I had the choice to come here again I would drive a bit further and visit some other place.

How sad.

  • Jeff H.

  • Jeri T.

  • Jess S.

Stay away! !!

Food is very bland ; taste like everything came out of a can; the guacamole had no flavor what so ever I would not recommend

I have been coming here for a few years. When they opened, the food and service were both great. It really seems to me that the place is going downhill. Last Friday, my wife and I went there for dinner. We shared an appetizer that came with guac, queso and pico de gallo, plus your choice of another salsa from a list on the back. Even though guac was not on the back, I asked if it was possible to get a second portion of guac for our 4th item. I was pleasantly surprised when she said yes. We also ordered the special, a steak and avocado burrito to share. After a while, the waitress brings out the appetizer. I tried the guacamole and noticed it was bland and kind of tasteless. Then to add insult to injury, after we had started eating the waitress comes over to tell us she was wrong about the guacamole, and we would be charged an extra $3 for the 2nd guac. Even though she admitted it was her mistake when I specifically asked about this, she made no offer to take it off the bill. This was annoying. The burrito came and it was mediocre, the steak being overcooked and over-salted. We skipped dessert and asked for the check. The extra guac turned out to be $3.50 not $3, and we were charged for an order of posole which we hadn't ordered or received. She re-did the bill and we paid and got up. Before we left I decided to tell the manager about the mix up about the guacamole, to give her a chance to make it right. But she had the same irresponsible attitude as the waitress. She acknowledged the mistake but made no effort to take responsibility for it. I found out that she was the one who had made the waitress charge us. I was surprised that she didn't offer us a discount coupon or a card for a free drink or something, anything! I didn't expect the money, and $3.50 isn't the point. But to admit a mistake and not be willing to even make a token gesture to set things right, just seems like terrible customer service. This visit was the last straw. I will never be back.

Awesome food and great service. I tried the posole and it was VERY good! My husband loves their mini chile rellenos. We don't eat out at mexican food restaurant often because we own one. But we will be back to Coronas for sure

Who really knows if we will be back.... a lot of other places to try.... i had to see for myself and it was ok.. ;)

(See photo)

We had a party of four and everyone thought it was really good food. The service was great. I like the big booths. I also liked how they spread people out rather than jam everyone in a small area.

I absolutely love the location on 136th and Huron.. This one..not so much. I was very disappointed that the food was not even close to tasting like their another location. Might try it again in a few weeks. Otherwise I will done at their better location.

The salsa tastes like tomato paste. Drinks are served in pilsner glasses which are nice; however the food is rather bland and lacks seasoning or any genuine Mexican flavor. If I had the choice to come here again I would drive a bit further and visit some other place.

This is the best Mexican food I've had in a long time. Wonderful staff, great selection of beer on tap. Will be returning often! The fajita burrito was amazing. The rice was also good, and I'm not a rice person. Recommending to all my friends and family.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
