Everything was amazing from the wait staff to the bread... I wish I didn't live so far becuase i would be here all the time.

I was not expecting a 5 star restaurant in Yuba City, and this certainly isn't one, but the salad was crisp and fresh, the gorgonzola pork chops were delicious, especially the fresh green been/peppers vegetable side. The complimentary garlic bread was so-so, and the pork chops were a bit thin for my taste, but overall the meal was very good. My colleagues said the same about their dishes. I would return.

I had the 3 cheese tortellini, It had no flavor, I'm sure it was frozen for a while before being served to me. The restaurant was clean and the waiter was good.

Went to Marcello's last week for lunch, decided to have the lunch buffet. Evidently we must have got there towards the end of the buffet time as there was not much food for selection and what was left was in pretty small portions. The food was just ok. Will give them another try, but hoping for better results next time

This is a good restaurant. My favorite dish here is the fettuccine Alfredo. The service is good and the staff is always nice. Someone is always coming to make sure that you are enjoying your meal and asking if you are in need of anything to make your dining experience better. Definitely would recommend it!

Don't expect too much because you'll be disappointed. It was the service that bump this rating to 3 stars.

Not so great. Went for our sons 16th birthday hoping for some great Italian food. Disappointed! The res sauce is sweet and bland. Service was lousy, we waited for bread to be baked and our meal was nearly done. Salads were over dressed. Not going here again.

Traveling man looking for a little good Italian food and I found it here. Service was great and I followed my server's recommendation on the veal Marsala and I was not disappointed. Great ambience, and the staff is helpful and friendly. A great dining experience and I highly recommend those traveling looking for great Italian food at a reasonable price this is the place.

I was really disappointed. a few peoole had recommended it as wonderful. The wait staff were very nice, but the food was just bland. We spent $120 with tip for 5 people, had one appetizer, 2 spaghetti, 2 fettucini and a personal pizza. My kids are picky, and I am NOT a good cook, but we all agreed MY spaghetti and fettucini is better. And I'm not Italian. That's not a hard task. And I think it's only because I use more garlic and salt. The garlic bread would have been great with more butter and a little garlic.

No, really, this is a five star restaurant. The ambiance is wonderful, the service is accommodating, the food is superb. We are vegetarians who prefer vegan and we always find something we love. A great beer list, Moretti Rosa is our favorite, and we suggest you try it.

Nice and quiet setting! Love the dim light and the yummy soup. Their service is amazing and prompt! My date night spot! Blows any Italian restaurant in YC out of the water!!

Being the only local italiano resterante in Yuba they do a good job w/ everything overall. The service is better than some, and the food is usually a hit. I always bring friends & family here from outta town because it's never too crowded, but it is Yuba City so of course our local white-trashed idiots are nearly impossible to get away from. I don't drink wine so don't really know about the selection, but it's Yuba City so I wouldn't expect much.

Hubby and I have been here MANY times and service is always five stars. No matter the who the service is or the day you arrive. They always go beyond in service to the point of where you feel like you being spoiled The Food portions are large enough so that even my husband never leaves wanting. Yes! Most recently when we were there I decided to be adventureous and ordered the blackened salmon. It was the best salmon I have ever eaten. It was seared to a crispy perfection, top and bottom, while the inside was so moist and tender. Perfectly seasoned. So moist and done too. I kept thinking how did they do it? Perfect!! I'm sure it's no easy task. I will definitely order it again when we go back. Hubby LOVES the pasta Bolonese. Every piece of pasta is wonderfully seasoned and sauced with a rich meat sauce and tastes like it is made from a little Italian mama. And the garlic bread? Don't even get me started....ok I'll make it short, PERFECT. You will not be disappointed!

I went to Marcello's on my birthday on April 2, 2014 with my girlfriend and another couple. They asked me where I'd like to go for dinner. I said Marcello's. I'd been living in another state for the last 21 years, but use to go to this restaurant quite a lot in the Late 70's through the 90's. Our service was 5 stars, the food was 5 stars, and the cleanliness was 5 stars. I can't say anything bad. Now that I've returned to the area I will come to Marcello's more often. I plan on taking my daughter and grandson's there tonight.

Service was awesome! Ambiance is perfect and the food was wonderful! Definitely try this place if you want quality, home cooked food at a good price! Not many restaurants in Yuba City can compare! The pizza was good. Can't wait to come back and try more menu items!! Support the local businesses in Yuba, they depend on you to stay in business

it was ok. Was in town and wanted a quick pizza. It was your average; however the place was busy and i asked some customers walking out the door how it was they said great! So if i come into town again i will have to go and try a sit down meal.

I'm from Louisiana, the state of AMAZING food, and this place is delicious. Service was great, and all four of us at our table loved our food, wine and martinis. Yuba City, you have a gem.

The ravioli and service were impeccable. I loved the fresh salad and homemade salad dressing. The decor is what every Italian restaurant should aspire to. Not too happy about it being closed on Halloween, though. This is a nice restaurant to sit down and relax with good Italian food.

Favorite restaurant in town! most of the staff is friendly, and usually the owner and his wife are there personally checking up on people.

Went to Marcello's last night (my 2nd time coming) and it was WONDERFUL. The food was delicious and the service was very good. I've gone for a regular lunch AND at a corporate party and both were excellent. It's alittle on the pricey side (for this area that is) but it's worth it if you're looking for a good atmosphere and great Italian food.

Well I was on the way back from Rocklin on Monday with a friend. We showed up at 8:50 PM when hours said they closed at 9pm.....Hostess said "NO PROBLEM". There were a few other still eating in restaurant. Our server was awesome. I had the Chicken Piccata and my friend had a person pizza. Our server suggested a GREAT Italian red wine for me(I wanted red). Liked so much I took a picture of the label to get some for personal(I only had a glass as all wines can be ordered by the glass...yehhh). Their bread with olive oil and balsamic vinegar is yummy and oven toasted after being glazed with butter and garlic!!!! My fav. Food came out so quickly. Food was outstanding. Veggies with my Chicken were just right, not end of night mush. And my friend Tom's pizza and very very good. Just a hint of sauce and the crust was thin and cooked just right. We got to talking to our server and with all the jobs she could get in her home community she COMMUTES to Yuba City from Roseville to work here. This place is a MUST try for anyone wants good Italian food. I grew up in So Cal and remember going to a family friends restaurant that was 1st generation Italian. This immediately took me back to those days. Fair portions, fair prices, and outstanding service on a Monday night just before closing..... THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!

Definitely one of the classier restaurants in the Yuba City area. Octavio has done a great job of maintaining the ambiance and fine dining experience. This is one of the few establishments where you can eat and hold a conversation without having to shout above the din of the crowd. The staff is friendly and seems to genuinely enjoy working there. The food will hold its own against any other local and many much larger restaurants. We had a wedding rehearsal dinner in the banquet room. They were kind enough to accommodate us at a relatively late notice and welcomed us with open arms. The food choices were very flexible. We could have banquet style. A limited menu or order off of the full menu. It helped make the whole wedding experience much more enjoyable by taking one potentially stressful event and making it a fun meal with family and friends. A great big thank you to Octavio, his staff and his family.

Last Saturday evening we had a delightful dinner with my son and his girl friend here at Marcello's. Started off with two delicious appetizers, and a bottle of wine. Each dinner was cooked to perfection. Always a treat to come and enjoy such a beautiful tuscany decorated and clean restaurant here in Yuba City, always with a warm and welcoming staff. Our prior visit to Marcello's was having them take care of a party of 21 for us in their private room for a 65th. wedding anniversary for our folks. The food and service was excellent! Well done, see you soon! Dave & Patty B.

Excellent food and when we came they had great deals on drinks :) Sierra (our waitress) was lovely and super friendly. The owner even came to the table to make sure our order was perfect. They were attentive and kind the entire time. Great experience.

This review is for the catering and dining in. When you book Marcello's to cater one of your events, you really feel taken care of. Not only do they deliver quality food, but they make sure everything is perfect from the display to packing up after it's all over. My family has been using Marcello's catering for the last few years and we've always had a good experience. As far as dining in goes, the restaurant is cute. It has a cozy, family feel to it. They have a great variety of Italian dishes. The wait staff is awesome. My family is pretty large and our servers always manage to get our orders correct and out to us in a timely fashion. Pricing is well matched for the amount of food you get. If you're in Yuba City and looking for a solid dining experience, you should give this place a try.

Terrible service but good food. I got the linguini w clams and it was good however I had to ask for some extra sauce cuz it was a bit dry but very good. Loved the complimentary bread. I would come back.

  • Tricia F.

Super friendly wait staff. I opted for the vegetarian lasagna which was an excellent choice. Fresh garlic bread was awesome. The chef comes out to talk with you and ask how your meal was. The spumoni ice cream topped it all off. I will definitely be back!!

This place was delicious! Just had lunch there today, had the soup and salad special and my bf had the Alfredo. The calamari appetizer was super good and at the end the waiter even gave us some bread to take home! I couldn't print the coupon on I had from clipper magazine but I did show it to him on my phone and he was so sweet and let us use it! He was super attentive and kept checking up on us I wish I would of remembered his name! Neways we will definitely be back (:

    Amazing food! The service is excellent and the dining was just amazing. I usually drive to Chico for "Italian food", Olive Garden, but I just found my favorite restaurant(: I ordered the chicken marsala and the food portion was huge! A big plus in my book! (;

  • John m.

Marcello's is the Only Italian restaurant in town, so there is nothing to compare it too. I went there the other night and had the pasta with pesto. Nothing really stood out about the meal. The only good thing I can remember is the portions are big, so I was able to take half of it home . The dinner menu is a little on the slim side when it comes to the pasta section. No nocchi, no risotto, no fettucine alfreado, just the basic stuff. Now if you want Indian food, Mexican food, or Chinese food, then you have a big selection in Yuba. But Italian food, good luck... All in all Marcello's is adequate. Don't travel out of your way to get here.

Spectacular service!!! The staff, including the owner, were friendly and attentive. I came here with my goddaughter to celebrate her birthday, and we had a fabulous time. I've been to this restaurant a few times in the past, but the last visit was about 10 years ago. Ownership of the restaurant changed since then. To start off our dinner, I had the Italian Margarita. My goddaughter had water only. The Margarita was delicious! It was well-balanced in taste with the right amount of alcohol. I wanted a second glass, but I refrained. Maybe next time when I'm not driving. We did receive a complimentary basket of garlic bread with a bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar mix to lather our bread if desired. The bread was good with or without the oil and vinegar. My goddaughter ordered the Garlic Chicken Alfredo Calzone. Initially, she was going to order it as a pizza, but she ordered the calzone because she stated she had not had it before. The calzone was filled with grilled chicken, artichoke hearts, green onions, Italian herbs, mozzarella cheese and alfredo sauce. My goddaughter ate almost half of it, and I tasted a smidgen of it. The calzone was baked to perfection. It had a crunchy crust and creamy filling. I asked my goddaughter to rate the dish from 1-5, and she gave it 5 stars. I ordered the Capellini Pomodoro. It was made with fresh tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, olive oil and balsamic vinegar tossed with the capellini noodles. It was finished off at the table with grated Parmesan. It was absolutely divine! It was an orchestra of flavors with perfectly cooked pasta. It's a huge dish enough for two people. I loved it! I, especially, love that it was not rich and heavy. To finish off our dinner experience, my goddaughter had the Spumoni Ice Cream, and the staff and owner brought it to our table with a lit birthday candle and a birthday song. My goddaughter swore she was full before we ordered dessert, but she enjoyed it to the very end. What a trooper! No dessert for me, but I will have one next time to try out the cannoli. To the staff and owner: Thank you for a wonderful experience, and also thank you for singing a little birthday tune for my goddaughter. I'm a fan of this place now, and I hope it will not change. Keep it up!!!

Marcello's was delicious. I ordered lasagna to go and was very pleased from my first bite to my last. The garlic bread was crunchy and delicious.

We were on our way to the nearby movie theatre on a Saturday evening and didn't want to deal with the "Applebees" type crowd so opted on a local business. ..GREAT decision! Our server, Erica was very sweet, friendly & professional. The atmosphere was perfect, romantic but also family friendly. This equals my favorite Redwood City restaurant; Lucia's in décor, food, friendliness, budget and even outdoes their wine list & bar!! Give it a try. Portions are GENEROUS and the price is right! We'll return when we're in town!

IMHO the waitress was amazing! Our kids asked for cherries she got them. They asked her for more crayons she got them. The food was meh, but 3 stars for amazing service!

  • Richard M.

Mediocre, at best. I had eggplant parmigiana, pasta and a salad. The red sauce was acidic and insipid. The eggplant was coated with a horrible crust that was nearly burned while the eggplant inside was barley cooked. The pasta was not home made and thus very ordinary. The salad lacked any imagination...simple iceberg lettuce with a dressing straight out of a bottle. Prices were comparable to what a good Italian restaurant might charge for the same dishes however given the quality they were seriously overpriced. Service was lackadaisical and inattentive. Anyone that thinks this place compares to Italian restaurants in San Francisco has never been to that city. Suggest you go to Pasquini's!

  • Araceli C.

I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The lasagna smelled like hard boiled eggs which it had too much of.

    (1)
  • Ryan T.

Their food is consistently good. The prices are a little on the high side but it is always worth it. The service is friendly and usually above average. The place has a nice atmosphere, quiet and peaceful unlike certain other places in town.

  • Sherry H.

Okay Italian food--the standard American/Italian menu with an okay wine lists. For this area, a good bet. Service is tops and food comes to the table in good time--still hot. Salads are fresh and cold. Price is in line with the area. We go there when we want a decent dining experience but aren't willing to go to Sacramento or Roseville. Also has a pick up window.

    (4)
  • Aileen K.

Service was fantastic! Ambiance was nice. However, the food left A LOT to be desired. Went there for lunch; had the fetuccini Alfredo and if anything it tasted like raw flour. Yuk! The salad was nothing special either. If it weren't for the service, I'd give it only one star.

Pleasant little place. I went on a night there were all you can eat beef medallions. The owner is friendly and will come out and talk to people. The service is good.

I have only been to Marcellos once and will probably never go back. I went to dinner with a friend and ordered a dish on the waitress' recommendation. I think it might have been veal piccata. The meal started with soup and bread. The soup was excellent and the bread and dipping sauce was good too. Then the main course came and that was the beginning of the end. My veal was way over seasoned and the veggies were a tad undercooked. My friend ordered lasagna and fettucine alfredo and offered to trade with me, he didn't mind the veal. I ate a bite of the alfredo and it was terrible, I could have made better at home. It tasted like sauce out of a jar. I took the lasagna home to eat later. The next day I heated up my lasagna and was eating it when I felt something weird in my mouth. I pulled a piece of paper out of my mouth and realized there was a drinking straw wrapper baked into my lasagna, eww. I haven't been back and probably never will. I do have to say that the service was very good (besides the bad recommendation). The waitress was friendly and fast.

I talked personally to the person in charge of the buffet and he said he would not fill anything up until it was all gone .My boyfriend and l went out to lunch today about 1 o'clock at Marcello's in Yuba City and I wanted to order the lunch buffet the food on the buffet look like it been sitting there for hours it was so dried out I couldn't even eat it the only thing I got fresh was the eggplant parmesan which was good but that's the only thing fresh everything else was g old I even recommended to some other people that were going to order do not order the buffet it was awful and it was not that late for to be that bad I will never eat there again and the prices are too high for what you get the service was pretty good though the buffet sucks. I couldn't even eat the pizza it was just dried out like frozen store bought pizza $0.99 kind my name is catherine bell and my boyfriend is don currier. We do enjoy going out for lunch but this was a very big disappointment.

I received phenomenal service from Eryka this evening. She was attentive, honest and gave great recommendations! We enjoyed the chicken Milanese, tour of Italy, house wine, house bread and canolies! Eryka was truly professional, sweet, honest, attentive, amazing, assertive, awesome and honestly the best waitress I've ever had. We will be back!

I often come to Yuba City, where most of my family lives. On several occasions, we have called ahead and made a reservation of 15+ people, and have been given our own area. So nice to see an elegant, family owned restaurant in a growing city where chain establishments have been popping up by the dozen in the last few years. Service is always great (although my order has been butchered a couple of times. Just make sure to confirm it before it gets put in, especially when you're a part of a large group). There hasn't been a time where I have dined here when the owner has not come out to say hello to our party and make sure we are having a great experience. Bravo to that. The food is definitely on the heavier side of Italian food, but man is it good. Complimentary bread with oil and vinegar are the starters, and then there is a wide scope of dishes on the menu from which to choose. Soups, stuffed mushrooms, a variety of salads and pastas, sandwiches, salmon, steaks, thin pizzas, and CALZONES. There is also a full bar in a dark ambiance. Classy.

  • G S.

Bland, flavorless food tiny tiny portions & way overpriced. By the time our food arrived it was really cold, did not seem fresh at all. I cannot exaggerate how teeny their portions are compared to the price. Service was quite lacking as well. Definitely would not recommend.

Terrific food and stellar service. Can't say enough. I don't live nearby, but when I come through here I will have a meal here again.

What a wonderful surprise! I would give Marcello's 4 stars in my hometown because it is that tasty. We went on a Monday night, and the restaurant was not crowded. There is ample parking in the lot on both sides of the building. The hostess was super friendly, and our waitress was equally as engaging. After being seated we ordered a glass of wine. While perusing the menu, we were served some of the best garlic bread that I have ever had. We ordered two dinner salads and some of the homemade, made to order arabiata sauce for the bread. Do yourself a favor and get the sauce to dip that salty, garlicky, yummy bread goodness in. You might wonder if you even need an entree at this point of the meal. The house salad was tasty. It had plenty of goodies in it, including a hearty fresh tomato that was sink your teeth in delicious. We mixed creamy Italian and blue cheese dressings. The extra salad was $6. which seemed kind of high for what you got. For an entree, we split the Chicken Cacciatore. The penne pasta was cooked well. The chicken was a tad on the salty side. The veggies were tasty. All in all, the quiet ambiance, the super friendly service and tasty food were a winner. I will be back!

For around here the place is good. We like to go for they're Tuesday night buffet. They bring the food out several times during the evening to keep it fresh. When you see them adding something-go get it,otherwise it gets a bit dry or overcooked. They Have two types of salad, fresh fruit, pizza(not so good)chicken w bow tie pasta, spaghetti(not so good)eggplant Parmesan, ribs(not Italian, but good) tri tip, minestrone, dry garlic bread, dry cake and brownies. They did a good job catering a wedding I attended.

The service is superb and the pesto is even better! We enjoy good foods, especially Italian foods, and the taste is authentic here! If you are a resident of Sutter, Yuba City, Marysville, Linda or Olivehurst I wholly recommend visiting this place for lunch or dinner with your sweetheart and/or family. The ambiance is good for both. Dress casual or professional. Enjoy! !!

I Had lunch here today right when they opened with a co worker . I explained I was on my lunch break to the waiter . He was very accommodating and made sure we were in and out in 40 Minutes. The food was excellent, I had the taste of Italy which gave me a variety , only wish soup or salad came with it . Bread and balsamic dipping sauce was great as well ! I will be back .

So I was there Saturday night. We got sat down right away and the host was very nice even bring us water. We waited for about 10-15 mins before our waitress come but instead of coming over to us she come to another table that just got sat down. So we got our orders in and it came out pretty fast. I got the Trio ( lasagna, fettuccine and chicken parmigiana ) the chicken was so dry and tough like it was cooked for days. The fettuccine was very plain and bland the lasagna was okay. My fiancé got the shrimp fettuccine and there was only four shrimps for the price we paid I expect at least five shrimps. The waitress never ask if we want our water fill, she only come over to ask if we were done eating , I felt like she was trying to rush us out. So we got our check and there's a seating fee! Wtf is seating fee ? If I'd known I would stand and eat. Lol. I give it two star because the host was nice to us and the bread was good. Everything else blahhhhhhh. So if you like Italian food I'd not recommend this place. Better off get a frozen meal from walmart.

  • Austin B.

Well I guess you really shouldnt judge a book by its cover, I wasn't expecting much when I came here, and boy was I mistaken. Amazing food and a great staff. My italian trio was excellent, and I was especially happy I was able to swap the alfredo for anything else. The pesto pasta I had instead was so full of flavor, and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Not a whole lot to complain about, except that I would go with a entree over the buffet, which was not all that interesting. If you are looking for a great Italian place in Yuba, then this is your place.

Wonderful Catering service. Was on time and the food was delicious. The owner was very nice and helpful. If we ever have an event we need catered we will order from Marcello's again. One of the better restaurants in Yuba city for sure!

I was a little nervous with the parking lot empty at 11:30am. We had the lunch buffet. Pretty good choice of pastas, egg plant parmesan, pepperoni pizza, salads. Food was hot and well seasoned. No complaints really and the reasonable price made this a possible return when in the area.

I've been a couple of times now, each time it was a to-go order. They did a pretty decent job overall with the food, though the first time they still put dressing on the salad even though I asked for it on the side. Who would dress a to-go salad anyway, even if it isn't requested on the side? The salad was still good though, because luckily they didn't overdress it and I didn't have to go far. The next time I ordered the Caesar salad again and this time while they did serve the dressing on the side, they made the salad incorrectly. There were carrots in it and no parm cheese. The rest of the food was very good, and I would probably return, just without much of an expectation that they will get the salad right. I would like to dine in as it's very nice inside and everyone I saw who works there was very nice.

What a great restaurant in an unusual location...the Yuba City/Marysville area, halfway between Sacramento and Chico. But, since the locals know it's a good place, there are always quite a few patrons in there. I've eaten there both on Sundays and on Tuesday night, when it's Family Night (read: buffet). There are a few different pastas with different sauces, chicken, tri-tip, soups, salads, and desserts. When I've ordered pastas, they are always good and one of the sauces (a type of a tomato cream sauce) is my favorite. The steering wheel is always tilted up a notch after leaving Marcello's. I was expecting a lot of 4-stars. I grew up on Italian food, courtesy of my parents, and this place passes my test. The prices are appropriate. The service staff is friendly and casual. The owner and his wife are delightful people - very professional and cordial.

  • Kristi G.

Delicious! Terrifc food! The only thing better is their wait staff - so hard to find these days - but Marcello's has obvioulsy made training their staff and providing great customer service a priority. The owner always comes to your table to ensure your complete satisfaction, so hands on and refreshing to see! Support our local economy and our local business owners!

Living in a small town there's not much to choose from when it comes to restaurants. But Marcellos is always amazing. The food and service is great! We loved it so much, we had them cater our wedding. Not only were they affordable to hire but they went over the top with the service. Everyone at my wedding was incredibly impressed with the food and loved it as much as we did. The owner Octavio is very professional and greets us every time my husband and I eat there. I highly recommend this restaurant for lunch/dinner and catering.

Very happy with this restaurant. The food and the service was very, very good! We had a pizza and it was mmmmm mmmmmm yummmmy!!! We also had an appetizer of fresh mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, and basil with a balsamic reduction. I look forward to trying something else on the menu. Definitely coming back here. There is a full bar and a private room for parties.

The ceasar salad was great, the lasagne was great, the bread was good, once again, I had fettucini alfredo, and I wasn't impressed. The service was excellent. The owners came out and asked how wverything was going. By far the sweetest server in history. And the cannoli she recommended was AMAZING. I'll be back for the service and dessert alone.

Great service from chelsea. It was our first time there and the food and atmosphere were great. We got prompt friendly service and enjoyed our dinner.

I'm only giving this restaurant a 5 star rating because THERE ISN'T ANYTHING HIGHER!!! We went there for the first time about 10 days ago while picking up our kids from the Sac airport. (We live in Chico) There aren't any good Italian restaurants in Chico and we were all wanting Italian. Decided to try Marcello's. It didn't disappoint! We were given a table immediately in a private room. We are a party of 5. That was pure luck on a Saturday night at prime time. We had already walked out of a restaurant in Sacramento after waiting 40 minutes and still weren't seated. (offered a booth with a chair at the end! NO!) Anyway, I am very picky about my Italian food since my grand parents both came from Italy and only cooked homemade dishes. Our food was exactly as we ordered, very tasty, hot, and no mistakes. The bread and salads were great we well. The bread.....OMG, the BREAD! YUMMY. 5 stars just for that please! The waiter and everyone else who came to take care of us was amazing. Very attentive. My meal was actually delivered by the chef himself. I am pretty sure that at some point in the evening all of the staff had been in to take care of us for one thing or another. Desert was awesome. The restrooms were super clean and stocked with everything just like at home. I was completely impressed. My husband and I are both self employed and take special notice to the little things that run a business and bring customers back. We will for sure be back often. I know we will make a special trip from Chico just to go there for dinner. Our oldest son is getting married and we happened to notice that they do catering as well. I will be checking into that and post an update. You never know when a bridal party or reception will require the best Italian food. Please check this restaurant out when you are in town. You won't be sorry. C~

Beautiful restaurant! My fiance and I went here on a date night since we have never tried it, we were impressed. I asked our server his opinion on two different menu items and he was 100% honest, he didn't try to sell me the more expensive meal. From beginning to end everybody was polite and helpful, will definitely be going back.

Basically a local Olive Garden. Nothing over the top great, nothing to really complain about.

I thought this place we pretty great. The service was good, the server was a nice guy who was more than willing to give a recommendation. I went with the recommendation and got the Chicken Marsala. It was fantastic! I also had the toscana soup which was creamy and delicious.

We actually decided to give Marcello's a visit a while back on my wife's birthday; she was wanting Italian, but we didn't have the time to go out of town on that specific day. We first went to Strings on her recommendation. Yeah, the one in the mall...After a very unpleasant experience (the place was filthy, staff was rude, the water didn't even look clean which I didn't get since I drink YC tap all the time; truly a shame to the Stings name), we decided to head on over to Marcello's after remembering it had opened. Well, I've gotta say, its not my favorite Italian restaurant, but it certainly is a vast improvement for this town! The staff is friendly, the inside is fairly nice and spacious, the location is convenient. The one caveat is the food is less than fantastic; seriously, I would choose Olive Garden over Marcellos (although I do like Olive Garden, so no its not an insult). I've just had much better "Italian"; and yes, it really is a shame that there aren't any legit Italian restaurants that cook more than unimaginative pasta dishes (and oddly enough, American style steak dishes), but that's just the way it is for some reason. Anyways, back to the food. The food is overall decent, just lacking...flavor. Its far from "wow" in any manner; I'd rather fill up on bread truth be told. We've tried all their pastas, none of which was spectacular, with marinara sauce tasting akin to Prego sauce with some minor spice modifications. It just wasn't wow in any sense. The price is also less than spectacular; I really don't get how Italian restaurants can charge so much for pasta dishes when the ingredients are dirt cheap and incredibly easy to make, but again, that's just the industry standard. Overall, I'm giving it a 4 because the atmosphere is great, the service was great, and the food was palatable, and I'm incredibly grateful to have another decent restaurant in the area, which YC somewhat lacks in (although we have a wonderful selection in fast food...). In most other cities, I'd give it a 3.

THIS IS NOT ITALIAN FOOD! I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shout at you. But when people call stuff like this Italian, it makes me mad. Like my previous review, this restaurant caters to my work several times a month through sales people who like to butter up our doctors. And our doctors LOVE it. Everyone in the office salivates like Pavlov's dogs when the smell of alfredo sauce comes wafting through the clinic. I, on the other hand, not so much having a finely-tuned palate, but having grown up around many a friend's New-Jersey Italian grandmother, cannot subjugate myself to eating this after the first time I tried a teeny tiny but of their "marinara". Italian food is not and does not consist of all pastas with alfredo and vodka sauce, stale garlic bread (ew) and baby back ribs. In fact, i am quite sure that baby back ribs are in totality, NOT ITALIAN, Anyway, I digress. I'm not a fan, but I'm very, very picky about my Italian. It's the one food that, to me, unless done perfectly, is just not worth eating.

Had the pizza. Ok. Service was good. We weren't expecting much in Yuba city. I would probably not go back....it wasn't bad, but nothing special, except it's in Yuba which like my other reviews of Reno restaurants makes it pretty good when taken in context. 2.5

My husband and I have been to Marcello's several times and have chosen it for our anniversary dinner a couple of times. I cook for a living and am VERY picky whenever I go out to eat. I don't like to pay for restaurant food that I don't deem excellent, so we don't go out very often. After over 20 years of my husband being married to me, he too, has become a food critic. The ambiance is very nice and romantic, the waitstaff is very attentive and it's always a nice touch when the owner/chef comes over to our table to greet us. My husband says their marinara sauce is the best he's ever had in a restaurant. Their all-you-can-eat pasta night is a great deal with a variety of choices. I love the fresh bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil to dip it in! Their Calzones are great too and they always give you more than enough to eat! The whole dinning experience is wonderful and it is one of our favorite places to go in the Yuba-Sutter area!

The wait staff is excellent and food is delicious. I have eaten at Marcello's multiple times and had a very enjoyable experience each time. Excellent pastas, succulent steaks, awesome pizzas and calzones. The prices are comparable to an olive garden but the food and service is nothing you would be able to find in a chain resturant. I never had an empty glass or was dissapointed in the food. The interior is low lit but not dark and very clean and quiet. I reccomend this to anybody who wants an evening out with someone special. haven't been able to find better italian food in either rocklin or roseville.

Very reliable Italian food, the best pasta in Yuba City. (Don't laugh.) Very accomodating to children, a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, a private banquet room, reasonable (but not cheap) prices. I hear the pizza is excellent, and my mother-in-law reports the halibut is very fine. The vegans always get the penne primavera with arrabiata sauce, though the arrabiata usually needs some spicing up with chili flakes. A so-so wine list, about what you'd expect for the area. It's between Marcello's, Salute, and the Dancing Tomato for the best group dining in town.

Good italian food for the area of Yuba Dirty. If I had the choice betwen here and Olive Garden, I'd go here in a heart beat. Dancing Tomato is almost as good but the spaghetti sauce here is much tastier.

Definitely not the best Italian food I've ever had, but for the Yuba-Sutter area this ranks pretty high, right underneath Pasquini's on the quality scale. However, the service at Marcello's trounces Pasquini's by a mile. The owner personally greeted us and went around to every table to make sure people were fully satisfied. The food is very solid, again not mind-blowing, but solid. For only 9.99 you get endless pasta, which is a great deal. A meal won't change your life by any means, but if you need some good Italian food close to home in the Yuba-Sutter area, Marcello's will more than satisfy your cravings.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
