I heard that "CASH ONLY" Boiling Noodle restaurant offers a whole lobster with garlic noodles for $12.50. So, I definitely had to give it a try. The restaurant is relatively new, modern and clean. Our server took our order: (1) Lobster with Garlic Noodles: My entrée came with a small bowl of soup containing two wontons. It was very tasty but had too much MSG. My lobster was butterflied with the claws cracked off. The lobster itself was yummy and the noodles were cooked al dente but had to much MSG.. (2) Pho Ap Chao Combination My friend's Pho Ap Chao Combination was delish. The noodles were crispy and the veges, beef and seafood were fresh and all good. I would return to the Boiling Noodle but request that only a little MSG be used in my order. I'm a fan ....... 4 Stars!

I had "Mi Vit Tiem" or duck soup at this restaurant. The duck herb broth is very good and the duck meat is very tender. The service was quick. We did not have to wait long at all. My sister's family had lobster noodle and they liked it a lot. BTW, the price is excellent too.

I have never been charged for water !!!! 50 cent?!? Really ? It's not about the money! Have travel around the world and never been charge for water! I will never go back on principle alone The price is cheap it's because they give u small serving. I'm glade for that. But! The water charge is pissing me off.

A friend had been raving about the lobster noodles here, so we decided to give this place a try. It's in a medium sized plaza with some other shops and restaurants around. Inside, there is plenty of seating and plenty of people at dinnertime, but no wait for out party of 7. The food did not disappoint! DO get the lobster noodles. You get a full plate of noodles with whole pieces of lobster, the shell on it and all, and the sauce that covers it all is delicious. DO get the shrimp wonton noodle soup. The broth is good and savory and the shrimp wontons are yum. Look out, some pieces of beef are included in this, which I wasn't expecting since it wasn't listed in the menu and I don't like beef, but this might be a plus for some. All in all, 10/10 would do it again for the lobster noodles. Haha

Typical Asian restaurant! So don't expect good service here. Came here with my family for lunch since my grandma loves this place. I had the crispy noodle as my entree and it came with a big bowl of soup on the side! I did not expect that but I was happy I had some soup! Everyone else ordered a small bowl of noodle soup. Even though it's a size small, it looked pretty big to me. The food was pretty good here. I heard their lobster noodle is what they're known for. We saw some tables order but we didn't have room to try it that day. I love the plum soda here. It was made perfectly! Not too sweet and not too sour. Oh yeah I knocked off two stars because they were cheap about their to go bags and their name is boiling noodle like they're copied boiling crab...

Paid $2.50 for a drink and they only filled it half way up.... What kind of service is that? The coconut drink was so watered down I could've just got water. The hu tieu DROWNING in msg got a major tummy ache half way through. I didn't even finish the food.

My boyfriend and I's favorite spot to grab Vietnamese style ramen. The broth is so so so good. He always gets the egg noodles with fried shrimp. I always get the large rice noodles with wontons and BBQ pork. Sooooo yummy. I frequently get the Hu tieu xao whenever it's too hot for soup. Equally amazing. Bummer it's only cash and there's no chase bank around that area. The tables are always clean and water is always refilled. Food is out in a reasonable time. Love this place.

If you think that this is another pho shop then you are wrong. The Boiling Noodle is a wonderful noodle shop that you see in those old kung fu movies. The restaurant is very traditional in what they serve and that is what makes this place a great place to eat at. You don't deal with all those modern, fusion favor b*** sh***t. This place serves wonderful egg noddle with a ray of different broths and topping. The meat lovers can experience duck, chicken, or pork. The veg lovers can experience vegs on a whole other level. There is a lot of different favors here, so try them all. Here is a downside to this traditional noddle shop, they are traditional which mean they don't speak English and it is CASH only. You might feel out of place being here, but if you can ignore that, then you will be fine.

Quite honestly the best broth in the Wonton / Pork Noodle bowl! Impressive! We are on vacation in Orange County and stopped by this place. Loved it and we came back for a 2nd time!

Pretty good noodle shop. It's a small, cleans and well-lit place. The chairs aren't that bad either. As for the food, the barbecue pork noodles were very good. It's kind of like a viet version of Shinsengumi, but you order it all at once. I ordered fried shrimp separately, and that was tasty. Pros + well lit + clean + tasty fried shrimp Cons - too much soup for the noodles you get Recommendation: just get noodles with fried shrimp.

Typical viet place, solid food, good portions, cash only! I came here with my uncle and we got the seafood noodle plate. For $8, the portion size was great and the noodles were solid. The oyster sauce was perfect but the plate was mostly filled with broccoli. The decor is simple and clean. Parking situation is a mess but what can you expect from asian plazas. Overall, cheap asian food. Order it, eat it, pay for it, and go home.

This place is pretty darn delicious with yummy prices! Noodles aren't soggy. Great texture. Soup taste good too. I've tried the Mi Ga Chien Gion, dry or with soup, both good. Skin on the chicken is nice and crispy. Mi Vit Tim, yummy as well... Good broth and a good sized duck leg. Mi Ca, decent and it's their special priced item, just a few bucks. Portion's a little bit smaller but still fills me up. Final thought... Definitely will be back to try other items. Prices are great AND the food is decent to good. Clean, good service and great prices!

My first check in and have to write up a review for this. First impression about this restaurant, clean and eyes pleasing. Second, the service was fast and on time. Waiter and waitress was nice and courteous, no complaints about it. Third and not least of importance, food presentation was great and wonderful. Ordered the Rice and Korean stakes, allow me to tell you this little secret; this may be my new go-to place for me. But on the flip side, do not expect your stomach to fill up after just one dish, let this be your warning :) The stakes tasted good and smelled good as well. My boy shared some from my dish, he said "Yummy"; and I agreed. I recommend this restaurant to fellow yelpers, it was first check in and looking forward to the future check ins. I will keep you guys posted. Until next time, catch ya'll on the flip side! Be safe!

Today I felt under the weather and I really did not feel like driving deep into Asia Town or wait in long lines so I decided to give this place a try. When I first got in there were like 2 small tables occupied. I was told to sit at table #3 then the owner or manager had me move to table #19? I guess because they were cleaning that area I was sitting in? Anyways whatever I move sat at my table and waited. I ordered a Hu tieu tom bo Vien with a "fresh squeezed" orange juice since they charge $.50 for water. My food came out and it looked decent however I couldn't help but notice how SMALL the shrimp were. The bo Vien were big however they were not hot they were more like warm. Before I could even get to the flavor of the soup.. Sigh... The MSG had already attacked my tongue and numbed it. :( boohoo however the only thing I liked was the fresh big noodles they used in the soup. I tried the Orange juice and it was extremely sweet, so I'm sure there was a lot of sugar and water added to the orange. Sigh again... My tiny shrimp had NO FLAVOR and the texture was rather mushy... YUCK Nobody bothered to see if I needed anything of course because it's a typical vietnamese restaurant and once they give you your food you are now neglected. Soup:$4.99 juice:$2.50 Added nasty shrimp:$2.00 Wait what?!? $2.00 for shrimp when it was tiny and nasty AND MY ORIGINAL SOUP WAS ONLY $4.99? So you're telling me with $3 more I could've bought another soup.. Smh Lets just say I would rather waste my MSG intake else where... Sorry The Boiling Noodle

3 lobster specials , 3 soups, and 3 ice teas for $40! The noodles were fresh, the sauce was big on flavor, and the lobster was delicious.

Lunch time. If you want a variety for fresh and tasty Asian food this is the place. Convenient parking, seating...no waiting. I keep coming back again and again... Trust me check it out and you will not be disappointed...

My mom just got back from here & she told me she was eating her noodles when SHE FOUND A FLY IN HER BOWL. She called the server over & the girl did not look happy to be working there. They asked her if she wanted another bow but my mom was so disgusted that my mom said no. When it was time to go pay the bill, THEY CHARGED HER FOR HER BOWL. The one that she barely touched with a freaking FLY in it. I understand this is an asian establishment & service is very low on their list but c'mon. My mom said the only upside to this was that the chow mien was good, & fly-free.

$2.99 for mi ca? Winner in my book. Delicious, tasty, and darn cheap!! Comes out quick too! Good service! Bang for your buck!!!

Came for dinner and had the house special not bad for 4.99 Had egg noodles to go with it( you can also choose rice noodles should you please ) It had pork , chicken, crab( seemed like imitation/pseudo crab) shrimp, liver and greens. Flavorful, hearty delicious and cheap not an easy combo to find nowadays

Cheap and good. Down the street from my house so we frequent here when we can. Wonton noodles is good. They have lobster special for like $13.50 with noodle. Not bad.

  • Phuongngan B.

GREAT shrimp wonton noodles. I love that they include the crunchy pork belly fat with the noodles. The pork belly fat can be hard to find and a pain in the ass to make so thank God this place is generous. Each bowl is $5. Cheap! Service has been consistently good with friendly staff except for the last time. The 3 of us finished our food and my dad still hasn't gotten his crunchy fried noodles. he was hungry and pissed off. Complained to the owner and at least they were polite about it. It would have been nice if they gave us a heads-up to order something else but I'll let it slide this time.

If you want a bang for your buck, this is the place to go! I had lunch with my mom here and the total for 2 people was $8.00! We ordered 2 fish noodle soups (Mì Cá) a Chinese donut and hot tea. The noodle soup was a bit average, but for the price I paid ($2.99) I thought it was very good! I was a little unsure about the fish noodle soup at first, but my mom reassured me that it's good. The soup had a few mini filets of fish and the best part was the deep fried pork skin that they sprinkle on top of the fish. Of course, the portion sizes were much smaller than that if other noodle restaurants, but I thought it was the perfect size (portion control, folks!) The restaurant was also very clean. The tables were pretty fancy, not your typical Asian noodle restaurant.

Great seafood noodles!!! You get a good portion for a great price. I would definitely come back to this spot. It has fresh tasting seafood. However, as other reviews stated before, cash is only accepted)-:

Came because I heard they had Mi Wonton for $3, but it's $4...which is still pretty cheap! This was my first time in this plaza after 22 years of living here and driving by all the time. Kind of a small plaza, but not to hard to find. What we got: Hu Tieu Kho Dac Biet ($5): comes with a side of soup. It had shrimp, duck, fish balls, imitation crab, liver, and more things. Mix it all up and I thought it was pretty good. I thought it had a perfect about of sauce, it wasn't too little where it made it flavorless nor was it too much that it overpowered the whole dish. The noodles were thick, but didn't clump together like other places I've had it at. Mi Wonton Xa Xiu ($4): sister and BF got this and they said it was pretty good. My sister puts hoisin sauce on every soup noodle no matter what it is, but this place doesn't carry it! We looked around and didn't see it on any table and she was pretty disappointed, but even without it, she thought it was pretty good. Wontons weren't too small, xa xiu had good flavor/texture to it so it was good for it's price. Service: The ladies here know how to speak English or understand it at least. They spoke to me in Vietnamese...but I replied to them in English and they understood. But after you order and get your food, you won't be seeing them coming back to check up on you. After you're done go put to the cashier and tell them your table number and pay!

If you like mediocre food and water downed drinks this is the place for you. I have suggested that they rename their drinks to ice water. Got a good laugh from the waiter before he walked away in silent. Stay away people. Be very afraid people. If they cheat on your drinks and laugh in your face. What else is happening in the kitchen?

    (1)
  • Thomas H.

My family is a regular here and we love the food here. The food comes out rather quick and usually all at the same time. Most of the time they will give you short on the vegetables and I will often have to keep asking for more. Other than that the staff are nice and food is good.

    (4)
  • Ngoc N.

I came to this place for lunch today and had the popular dish for lunch which was a lobster noodle. The mini lobster was actually tasty but a bit stringy and tough. I liked the flavor of the sauce though. The noodle was ok. Plenty of noodles to go around but it was missing some garnishing or some light vegetables I think. I would have enjoyed it more. It was pretty straightforward. The service was also pretty quick.

    (2)
  • Chelle D.

The special now is the fish noodle for $2.99. Surprisingly there is no fishy taste at all. The fish slices were pretty thinly cut and there's actually not that many pieces. The best part about the bowl is the crispy fried pig skin that are like one centimeter cube sizes. Same broth. Fast and speedy service.

  • Sandy T.

I was always curious why their font type is the same as Boiling Crab's..... Anyways short and simple, cheap wonton noodle soup that tastes not decent but pretty good. The only bad thing is if you togo it's not the same price. I usually togo but it tastes fine to me!

    (4)
  • Cecile D.

The best won ton noodle soup in OC. The noodles are perfectly aldente with a snap. They make them in house daily and the broth is light and flavorful. I love the shrimp won tons because the shrimp is plump and juicy inside a thin own ton skin. The combination of broth with noodles and wontons and veggies is always a perfect comfort food that satisfies. Another dish I love is the filet mignon cubes with crispy noodles.

    (5)
  • Bao H.

The food is great... the customers service is not bad same as the other VIETNAMESE restauran. the owner here is very friendly and always smile with customers. Would be back again.

  • Lenny R.

This place is great. They make homemade noodles. Soup is delicious. Service was terrific. They came by to refill drinks and ask how the food is. The soup is only $4.95 and is large with a lot of meat. They charge $.50 for water and iced tea. So we had ice tea for $.50.

  • Thanh K.

Service kinda poor. When I come in with my family there was only 1 table full, so is technically empty. We sat down on the table and when we're ready to order two young waitress girl were goofing off ay the counter, it took about 4 calls with one last loud "Excuse me!" For them to notice us. And I reveive the wrong drink. Little things count too. If your music CD is broken and scratchy please don't play it!

  • Linh L.

I've had noodle here before. Once to be exact. It was okay. I only went to try because my friend likes it here and it was 40 percent off grand opening. The price isn't cheap and the noodle was just average. It was good to eat but it wasn't so great to get me to come back.

In the evening, I came restaurant after I had heard from my friends about it many times. They had plenty of parking. The Jumbo soup with egg noodle was good. Skinny waiter and waitress serviced us good. The restaurant looked very clean. I will come back again with my friends for sure.

I'm pretty sure that this place has either went downhill after all the buzz about promotions and cheap deals. My fiancé and I went there last Saturday night which was 7/6/13. Let me just skip to end for those with no patience and hungry: it's not food that will make you puke, but it's definately not restaurant material! -I got a Luke warm, overcooked roast duck with egg noodles for 6.99. The soup's flavor had some herbal ingredients which made it taste okay. Other than that, the soup tasted like they microwaved it for me from the kitchen. The roast duck drumstick (which tasted like boiled duck) and A SINGLE bak choy cut in half so it's considered two veggies?? Noodles were very limited. It's about half of a bundle of egg noodles. I can understand or them to be cheap on the duck, but atleast keep your customers comming back with a little more noodle or veggies (the cheaper items). I had soda chanh for a drink and it was good because I didn't swallow chunks of sugar while drinking my drink haha. -My fiancé had Bo luk lak. Flavor was okay, but a little over cooked for 9.99. In a plate, you were given a portion of rice, portion of salad, and a portion for the meat. It looked like it has 5 beef cubes mixed onions, literally. Broth was good, I admit. He had a soymilk for 1.99. He said it tasted like it was worth a quarter because it was significantly watered down when he first got the drink. Would I ever give it another try? NOPE. I rather give me money to restaurants where customers can actually walk out feeling like they had eaten.

  • Henry T.

Not bad. My aunt recommended this place and my mom and I just had lunch there. I had the noodles with a roasted chicken, which was better than I thought it would be. The broth is very good. Not too salty, but with just a hint of sweetness to it. The place is clean, looks brand new, and is popular with the Little Saigon crowd. The food is dirt-cheap. We paid less than $12 for a lunch of two people. I liked the atmosphere. The one problem I had with the place is its location. It's tucked away in an obscure corner of this business plaza (one of several in the area), away from Bolsa Ave. It would draw more traffic if it was closer to the street to be seen.

    (4)
  • Cody C.

It was a nice clean restaurant with good pricing. It's a competitive market, so it's not easy for them. They're all smiles though so that's all that matter.

2.95 for a bowl of wontons. Good deal! Decent portion. I'm in loveee with the broth!

    (4)
  • Lana H.

just great shrimp wonton noodle with egg noodle. The wonton had whole shrimps and the broth hot and full flavored. my only little complain is the solids and broth ratio, more broth but you know what broth is so good sip that up! all this for $4.95 a bowl ... what a great deal!! this is my wonton soup spot!

  • Erin N.

I went here because My Vi My Gia closed on Wednesday and I was so craving for Wonton Soup. The location is not hard to find at all. Especially they have a small truck always park at the front with the restaurant's name. The restaurant was pretty clean and well organized. +1 star for it. I ordered shrimp wonton which is $4.99. The bowl is way too big for whatever in there. The wonton was ok, basically it's shrimp wrapped in wonton paper. The soup was tasty. It's lean not fatty that's what I like +1 star for it. Service sucks. They are not rude but sucks. Why? 1) Because the waitress doesn't seem that she is working at all. She keeps talking to the other workers and not even notice that I'm waiting for her to take my order. Again there were only 3 parties. Until another lady behind the counter told her to take my order. She didn't even want to go. She asked another waiter to do it. During my visit, she keeps talking loudly and non stop which is very annoying. 2) I ordered ice tea and I got an ice water. They are both 50 cent and nobody came back to refill my water. Not sure if I will come back.

We've tried their noodles & porridge, their soup base have too much MSG. We all get super thirsty afterwards. Not a good place to eat.

  • Michael B.

Apparently i can't read since it says that they charge 50 cents for to go orders which i didn't know my first time coming here. I tried the buc luc lac this time around and it certainly wasn't anything to write home about but i was satisfied. The place looks a lot nicer during the day and you can really tell they keep the place really clean. I'll for sure stop in again but I'll stick to the soups.

Going out to dinner with my parents on Saturday nights used to be part of a weekend routine that got old because the options always stayed the same. But then I grew up, started going out to restaurants I wanted to go to, and realized years later that it had been a while since I had spent as much time with them. But almost as importantly, I hadn't been to many Asian restaurants. Good news: it's a clean, bright place; they were blasting Christmas music that didn't make me feel like I had traveled to a dark alley in China, and the people were so friendly that it didn't make me feel like I had been kidnapped and held hostage in China. I tried the mi vit tiem, which was probably the best I've tried. Easy to say because I haven't tried this at many different places, because they don't make it at many restaurants. But I know my flavors. This has got it. It's essentially a yellow noodle soup dish with a dark broth made with herbs and dark secrets, with duck cooked for a fall-off-the-bone amount of time. Git it.

The reataurant is clean. The food and service are very good. Plenty of parking and they have air conditioning so it is great for hot day.

The place was clean, the server was nice, even though he got my to go order wrong. I asked for fried rice and when I got home it was not there. The wonton soup was ok,I had better.

Very clean inside. Beautiful woman waited on me. She had a golden wishbone necklace. I ordered the BBQ pork egg noodle soup. Big bowl and very low price ($4.99). Tasted wonderful except not much meat in there. I would have given 5 stars if there was more meat. Maybe they can raise the price $1 and add more meat? If I go back I will ask for extra meat.

    (4)
  • Terri T.

their dishes are delicious!!! I tried their wonton noodle and then their beef steak with fried rice once and kept on coming back for more. Their beef steak has nice extra kick to it that is to be remembered...like a the meat is being cooked on a fire burning wok pan or something and doesn't compare to any that I've tried before at somewhere else. Definitely a good place everyone must try!!!

  • Chau V.

My cousin read about this restaurant on the Vietnamese's newspaper, so we decided to check it out. This place is relatively new, judging from the wall paint and new tables. I believe it is a great alternative to Luc Dinh Ky just a few hundreds feet away. Their house special noodle (either in soup or dry style) is quite delicious. Customer service is great. The staff was so solicitous that I doubted for one second that we were actually eating at a Vietnamese restaurant. Cash only!

  • Daniel C.

Typical restaurant in the heart of Bolsa. I'm usually here when I need soup after a night of drinkin. Budget Hangover Cure Recommendation: $2.95 for a regular sized bowl of Wonton Noodle soup (Mi Hoanh Thanh.) Cash only, of course.

  • Catherine T.

I went here w/ my parents to try the noodles. When you walk in, the servers pointed you to a table. They were going to sit our group right in front of the kitchen when there were other tables available. I didn't want to sit in front of the kitchen w/ all the noise and everything that you see. So I asked to sit at a different table and the waitress was a little rude about it. So I got the special, which is their wonton noodle soup. They have discount on it. It was ok. The broth wasn't anything special. They do give you a good amount of noodles. However, the filling in the wonton was small. My sister and dad ate the noodles dry. Both complained that the sauce was way too sweet. They both ended up pouring their soup on the side on the noodles. My mom had the dry noodles w/ the sauteed pork. Pork was soft and had a nice flavor. The sauce that went w/ it was still a little too sweet. Servers never came back to check on us, as expected. But they didn't look friendly either. Besides the price being cheap, nothing else special about this place.

Went there with my aunt and two cousins. I loved the furniture. The tables are made of marble and the chairs are solid dark wood - very posh. Ate the $2.95 wonton soup special! Great food and they give you a big portion.

I came here with my buddy's family for dinner one night, on a whim. The place smelled like an Asian noodle place. Yum. haha. :P The lighting was nice bright, which I liked. I don't particularly like dingy restaurants. It always feels like their trying to hide something - like dirty floors. Anyway, I'd ordered the Mi Hoanh Thanh, which was $2.95. Pretty good deal. :D The bowl was just the right portion, in my opinion. The soup base wasn't bad either; not bland, but not overly flavourful either. I think you only get 3 or 4 pieces of hoanh thanh per order. The service wasn't the best. And I was VERY DISAPPOINTED that they didn't have sriracha sauce! I've never been into a Vietnamese establishment that did not serve that magical sauce! They had sate chili though. I settled, but I was still disappointed. Good thing I now carry that shizz on my keychain! I'm prepared for these types of flavour emergencies now! Overall, if I was in the area and my friends and I didn't feel like going to Luc Dinh Ky or the like, and also didn't want to spend to much money, AND we were in the mood for some noodles, I could see my self coming here again. I just wouldn't go out of my way for it.

  • Kathy T.

Not bad for the price. I came here on a cold day for some noodles and wasn't too disappointed. My family all ordered the wonton noodle soup (only $2.95!!!) and they enjoyed it. Not the BEST, but the value is amazing. I had to be the black sheep in the family and ordered the Egg Noodle special (Mi Dac Biet..I think) It came with all sorts of goodies: chicken, shrimp, fish ball, liver slices, minced meat, fried pork rinds, fried minced garlic). It was flavorful and came with a bowl of soup. The noodles aren't as good as the ones at My Vi Mi Gia, but not a bad alternative. All in all, not too bad and I would return if I was in the mood for noodles.

  • Eric A.

I like the house special noodles served dry with soup on the side. It is prepared with the right amount of sauce. Pretty good in my opinion. Only complaint is the squid that comes with it. Sometimes it tastes like its still raw. Definitely worth a try!

  • Heidi H.

Cheap wonton noodle soup. Not much to say but that it's a decent place to go to for a quick and simple dinner! House special fried rice was just okay... Stick with the wonton noodle soup!

My dad and I had an early dinner tonight at The Boiling Noodle. My parents had been here before, and my dad said it replaced a BBQ restaurant that used to be here. The sign that is in the front of the restaurant shows that it opened on June 16, 2011, so I guess tomorrow would be its 1st year anniversary. My dad and I both ordered hu tieu. I got the Hu Tieu Do Bien (Seafood noodle soup) and a Thai iced tea. I thought the soup was very flavorful and delicious and tasted very healthy. Price was very affordable at only $4.95 per bowl. The wonton noodle soup here is only $2.95! Definitely worth a try!

I first have to start off with how bad their service is here... It's not horrendous but it's not good either. When I walked in to the door, unlike other Vietnamese restaurants, you don't get acknowledged... You have to inch closer to the people for them to take a glance at you. What was even worst was that I made eye contact with one of the workers their and they simply ignored my presence until the manager lady had taken notice of us. Despite its name, I chose to order a rice dish at this place. Just a forewarning for anyone who would do this as well... Don't. My mom and sister ordered noodle dishes and those came out quick but my plate of rice and meat took at least half an hour to be executed. I was getting frustrated so we had asked one of the workers there on whether they forgot about my dish or not and got a response with an attitude. Excuse me? By the time I got my food I just wanted to finish it and leave... I was so upset withy their lack of customer service. They do everything so slow it's unacceptable. Although despite their awkward location, the restaurant is roomy and has nice decor. That's the only reason why they're getting two stars...

So it's been awhile since I've yelped, and I am more than happy to start it off again with The Boiling Noodle!!! Oodles of goodness is what I have to say! What makes it even better is that it's only $2.95 for a bowl of won ton noodle soup. The won tons are absolutely delicious... very flavorful and meaty... as for the noodles, it's the thin egg noodles, and they always seem to cook it perfectly here, never undercooked nor overcooked! Lastly, the broth, O-M-G, good. I think some of the people that have tried this place were expecting the Taiwanese noodles or something along the lines of it, but WRONG-O BONG-O! The broth is supposed to taste light, and for extra flavoring, you can add the red vinegar and the jalapeno peppers in the jar that they provide... these two condiments will complete your won ton noodle soup bowl to perfection! Honestly, how can you beat the price of $2.95 a bowl? Even at 50 cents additional charge for togo and/or 50 cents for water, that still beats the other restaurants in the area charging $5-7 a bowl! And mind you, they do NOT skimp out on the noodles! Like my niece says all the time, "Try it! You'll like it!"

Wonton noodle for $2.95, it's good for the price . What else you expected for $2.95. I like it.

The service is crap. The server, a lady, has no expressions whatsoever. I dont know about you guys, but i lost my appetite because of that. Ok, to the food... Porridge was ok. I tasted burnt and way too simple. The egg noodle house special was very good though. Chinese simplicity to the fullest. Hai Nam chicken does not look appealing, but its good. The food here, though, is cook by fat not oil, so those of you that has a weak stomach then dont come here. Would have given 3 stars, but service was crap. 2 stars only.

It's funny when I read reviews on Vietnamese restaurants and it is mostly about the bad service. People...!!! If you haven't already caught on... there is rarely a Vietnamese restaurant or Asian restaurant of any kind that has great service. It is pretty much non-existent in bolsa. It is what it is! Yes, they just point to a table, yes they never come check on you. But who cares, I am used to this as I have been eating in this area for years. I've been here three times and I loved it! If I needed anything I just flagged down the waiter and he quickly got whatever I needed. I have been looking for an alternative to Luc Dinh Ky for years since one of my favorite noodle soups is Mi. The Mi Xa Xiu and Mi Tom Chien is really good. The Hu Tieu is the thicker wider rice noodles. The place is new, clean and prices are cheap. The broth is decent. It has definitely been added to my list of restaurants to eat at when I'm in the area. CASH ONLY!!

They have a promotion where you can get a small bowl of egg noddles with red meats for $3.99? I came here with my friends today. I ordered a bowl of their house special dry noodles for $4.99 while my friends ordered egg noodles with pork meat (?) for $4.99 and a small bowl of egg noodles*(*their promotion) Anyway, when the food come out. The small bowl and the regular bowl have the same portion of food. LOL the difference is the bowl (the regular bowl is bigger than the small one) I thought my bowl of noodles was decent. It was a bit plain and the shrimp tasted weird. - 3 stars The also charge 50 cent for a cup of water, I think. The customer service we received was alright. So, they deserve a decent 3 stars for their service. The place is quite roomy but some of the seats are too close together (I had a hard time getting into my seat because of the chair from the table behind us) Overall, I would say this place is an OK.

I been here twice and this place is not bad. I ordered the Mi Xa Xieu (Charsu Pork Noodle) and the Mi Hoanh Thanh (Wonton Noodle Soup).

I eat here a lot. The atmosphere is great, the service is awesome (especially from that cute girl Kimi), and the food is to die for. Ok, maybe not to die for, but the food is great and cheap. As far as people complaining about being charged for tea and water, I think that's standard nowadays in Bolsa Restaraunts. I highly recommend the bo luc lac with fried rice (ask them to switch out the red rice for fried rice... no extra charge and so much better). Now that I'm writing this review and thinking of the bo luc lac, I'm hungry again. I guess it's time to run over there and grab another bite (and do a little stalking of that cute girl Kimi. Did I mention that she's cute?).

Nice environment, they have nice tables and chairs with big screen tvs. Service was pretty crappy, they never gave me the vegetable add ins for my mi hoanh thanh and I got my drink after i got my meal. Mi hoanh thanh was 2.95 which is a very good deal, but the portions were small. There were only 3 pieces of hoanh thanh and 4 pieces of xa xiu.

JEEBUS Wonton noodle soup for 2.95?! I had to put my cardboard box up for a second mortgage just to afford a meal here.

My younger sister called and invited me to this place along with her two teenaged sons. My youngest sister's teenaged kids were also there. The service people are very friendly, especially the waitress name Dao. My sister and her husband ordered the Seafood Noodle Soup. The 4 teenagers and I went for "Mi Wonton" and two plates of the Shrimp Fried Rice. BFF just ordered the House Special Fried Rice and a drink. According to my sister, the bill less than $40 bucks. Good deal I think. With gas prices and grocery prices kept climbing their ladders, a bowl of wonton noodle soup for half of the price compared to most other places is a blessing. I hope they have that deal going for a long time, so I would be there more often without feeling that my pocket has a hole in it :-) feel cheap once in a while. On 9/13/2011 I came back for more Wonton noodle soup, this time the broth tasted a bit sugary sweet alike, IMHO. I also had a chance to read through the menu, here are the basic prices: Any food items packed to go, there will $1.00 charge on top of the price Beside their special wonton noodle soup deal on the banner out front, all soups are $4.95. All stir fry noodles and fried rice: $6.95 Beware of the extra charge on hot tea !!! I think I'm gonna disappear for a while.

I've been here 3 times in the last month. I discovered this place through my hubby who is a big fan of mi hoanh thanh. I was very impressed the first time I was here. The place is clean and the service was super fast. We ordered 2 bowls of mi for $2.95 each and a beef chow fun. $14 for the whole meal. What a deal! They also played my favorite French songs. I recommended this place on Facebook right away. The 2nd time I took my 3-years old here. We ordered the $2.95 mi and a bowl of chao ga. They brought out chao ca instead. Not a big deal I thought. Then they brought out a bill and they charged me for the water and the hot tea. I could understand the hot tea, but seriously, 50 cents for tap water? I know some people think that it's the standards on Bolsa to charge for tap water, but I'd rather pay more for my food than paying for the H20 that comes straight from the faucet. When will these restaurants get it? I still didn't give up on this place, so last night my hubby and I took my mom and my 2 little girls here for dinner again. We ordered 3 bowls of mi and a mi xao gion. We weren't going to order any drinks. My mom said out loud that she couldn't drink tea at night. Then the waiter said, "How about some hot tea and 4 cups?". Well, I had my own water bottle but I thought, what the heck, some hot tea would help my sore throat and 50 cents for the teapot isn't too bad. The food came almost instantaneously. This is the part that I was impressed with this place. I was the only one that drank the tea. Then when it was time to pay, lo and behold, they charged us $2 for the tea. I was furious at that point. The waiter wrote down 4 teas, so we got charged 50 cents each. WTF! My 3 year old doesn't drink tea!! I was gonna leave a nice tip but just because the waiter is an idiot, I left him a measly 75 cents. And for the greedy owner who nickle and dimes people, they've just lost 3 customers.

Ehh, came here for a family dinner and wished we had gone to Boiling CRAB instead. The environment was pretty nice, roomy for restaurant in such a random area. Although there was a sign that said it had been opened since June2011, I had never even noticed it until I arrived there, and I literally live diagonally across from it... Their dishes were okay, nothing stood out about them though compared to all the other asian restaurants in our area. We were in a group of 15, most of us ordering different meals. I got the $2.95 wonton noodle soup special and you definitely get what you pay for. It wasn't that great, but it fills you for a $3 meal. Their service was okay. Our male server was a sweet older/middle aged guy who was friendly while talking to us, however there was this one female worker who just rushed everything. She quickly went down the tables taking our orders and once we were done, she grabbed all the menus away so quickly. I was still holding mine and she just came and grabbed it out of my hand without saying anything -__- I was like, wtf uh, rude. The veggies they gave us was literally like nothing, it just sucked. They charged extra for little things, like adding drinks into togo cups or anything togo. I don't know, some things were okay at this place I guess but I'd probably not go here again.

Great deal! 2.95 for a bowl of wonton egg noodle. Came in during lunch nd every table was filled... Had to wait about 10 min. Tried the hu tieu.. Pretty good. My bf had their salmon special. It was pretty plain and boring. Small chunks of salmon deep fried. It was actually kind of mushy like tofu. Stick to their soup dishes! Service is always decent.....better than most Viet restaurants.

Food was ok, not the best though. I still prefer the chinese noodle house on brookhurst and westminster near tasteas. The soup that came on the side with the mi kho dac biet tasted better than the dish itself. The waiters were nice, but it seemed like other customers weren't satisfied with their service while i was glancing around. So i give it two stars.

Actually not that bad. The Mi Won Thanh isnt the best (mother in law) the soup is bland but for once I did not leave feeling faint due to the overuse of MSG and you can always add red vinegar and soy sauce. Other dishes are at a very decent prices the only complaint that I have is that $0.50 for tap water and the ice tea has a funky taste but maybe I am not used to it. Overall not bad.

I've eaten the dry special noodle and it has imitation crab, fish, squid, fish balls, sliced pork, shrimp, and more. And it only cost 5 bucks. The place is clean, with a friendly staff. They've earned a repeat customer. I don't understand how some folks have a hard on for paying 50cents for water? On my way!!

The service was very good, but these are top ramen noodles at best. I'm serious. Just go buy Top Ramen for 99 cents. You will not be having a fine Vietnamese noodle experience here.

So, it was a lil difficult finding this location, you can't see any signs off the street and its well hidden inside a shopping center. I am really glad I was able to locate it because it was pretty good. The raves here about the Wonton Noodle soup are right on the money! for $2.95 a small soup is a good size surprisingly.. also had the seafood fried rice which came with tasty pieces of scallops, shirmp and other goodies.. I definately would go back...

Average food at a cheap price. I got the crispy breef chow mein and it was a decent sized portion. The decor is nice.

This place is pretty good. Of course i got the won ton noodles for $2.95 which was a great portion for its price. my brother got the fried rice which was excellent. I'd definitely recommend it for the price. and this place will only get better in time. make sure you check it out for a quick economic meal. :D

I went here for the first time the other night, craving for a bowl of wonton soup! The store is nice and clean, fancy granite tables and matching chairs! I ordered a regular bowl of wonton soup...FOR ONLY $3! How awesome is that! It actually tastes great and I love the egg noodles. I've found most restaurants' egg noodles to be super thick and chewy. That is not the case here at all. It was very refreshing and for the price, I couldn't be happier. I'd definitely come here again especially when I'm hungry and on a budget.

Wonton mi for $2.95? Score! 3 of us had lunch here--each with an iced tea and the total was $10.61. Good service, clean and bright restaurant. SPOTLESS bathroom. The food is hard to argue with--quality, price, taste. Minus one star because this is not the best wonton I've eaten--and I've tasted plenty! The filling could use a little overhaul, but overall the texture of the noodles, broth, and char-siu is enough to make a repeat customer out of me. CASH ONLY, btw and add a few cents for take-out orders.
