I just placed an order for the first time for delivery to the office. It was quick and the individual who came was very nice. He showed up in a uniform shirt, and by that I mean, he was wearing a polo with the restaurant logo on it, nice touch. Very professional. The portions are a bit small, I ordered the Tom Khar Soup and the Pad Thai. My only complaint would be portion size thus only 4 stars, but the taste is AMAZING. I LOVE broth in the soup. Outstanding! The Pad Thai was very good also, just the right amount of seasoning. I will be ordering from there again for sure.

Located in this small plaza with plenty of parking. Came in during lunch and the place was pretty empty, but it looked pretty nice inside but a little dark. What we got: Thai Iced Tea ($3): comes in a mason jar. Cute idea. Drink wasn't too sweet either. Pad Thai with Shrimp and Beef ($13): originally $9, shrimp $2 extra dollars and with added beef $2 more extra dollars. I figured since we were paying $13 for this dish, it would come out with a lot of food. Wrong...small portion compared to other Thai places I've been too. Noodle was chewy and a little to hard for me. Doesn't come with lime or sugar either. Kang Dang (Red Curry) with Chicken ($9): comes with a side of rice. You have your choice of meat. The chicken was pretty juicy and not dry. Bamboo, green peppers, and carrots were soft and not chewy either. The curry itself was pretty good, not spicy at all. I would order it again! Sweet Roti ($3.50): I don't know if it was on the menu because I couldn't find it, but I told the waitress I wanted roti and she asked me if I wanted it to go with my curry or the dessert one. You have to try it! It's crispy roti with condensed milk and some kind of brown powder on top. It was super delicious though and I ate 5 of them myself... Service: Didn't really pay attention to us as much as the other party that was there. But they were fast at refilling water and getting us the check. They would come by to ask us if everything was good though and if we needed anything else. Would I come back? Possibly, but just for the sweet roti!

Very pleasant. Food maybe 4.5, and decor definitely 5! It is so hard to find a romantic restaurant on yelp, and it is even harder to find a romantic Thai Restaurant on yelp - I would say that this counts as one.

I think it was "Pad Ka Pow," but it doesn't matter because for me, it was as interesting and distinctly Thai as it gets around here, which is wonderful. Spicy food is my hobby, and Sumran is not shy with the chilis. I told our lovely waitress that I am not familiar with Thai, but I love spicy and want "the most Thai dish on the menu," and I promise I will clean my plate. She didn't hesitate to make a recommendation. I would love to come back and try the curry dishes and everything else. My guest had Thai Chicken, which I am glad I did not order; looked ordinary. For me, Thai Tea is tame.

Yeah! Another visit to our Favorite Thai Restaraunt! Every time we visit we always love it even more! Try the seafood hot pot. LOVE their curries! Everything is GREAT!

Food takes so long to come out. This is quite a big restaurant inside, but only a few server. We have been waiting and waiting to the point we doubt they forgot our orders. Food is ok, services is pretty good beside the waiting part.

Kang karter is amazing!!! Im not a big fan of chicken so I've tried beef and veggie and they're both great! It's also super filling! I have to force myself to finish it bc it's way to good to waste. I can't wait to get off work so I can go eat some!

Overall: The food is great, but the prices are a little steep. Food: 4 Sumran Calamari: The calamari was perfectly crispy and it wasn't dripping in oil. It came with two sauces: sweet and sour sauce and spicy mayo. I didn't care for either because it made the calamari seem, for lack of better words, heavy. The calamari was fine on its own. If they were to pair it with a sauce, I would like something more refreshing to contrast with the heaviness of fried food. Sumran Tom Yum Hot Pot: I love love LOVE the flavors of this soup. At other places, it's always a little too sweet or too sour or too salty, but the flavors of this particular one was spot on. It comes with shrimp, button mushrooms, and a mussel (yes ONE mussel). I wish they had more seafood in it besides just shrimp. Other Thai places usually include squid, an abundance of veggies, and rice. We had to order rice on the side at $1.50 a bowl. Pad See Ew with Chicken: Again, the flavors were spot on, and I love the chewiness of the noodles. I just wish the portion was a smidge larger and there was more Chinese broccoli...I could literally count how many tiny pieces of green there were on the plate. Service: 5 The waiters were awesome. They were professional and polite, despite the fact that most of them were very young. Food came out quickly, water was refilled promptly, and the table was cleared immediately after it was finished off. Ambience: 4.5 The restaurant was surprisingly full for a Monday night. It was fairly quiet until a large party came in. Even then, it wasn't overly loud. The restaurant seemed newly renovated, and I liked how open it felt. However, the bathroom, was a little lacking. Although it was clean, its design didn't match up with the rest of the restaurant...it was your standard back-of-the-Chinese-restaurant bathroom.

The Place - Walking into Sumran is like sunshine on a rainy day, except not sunshine because the decor gives off a darker but classy vibe. Refreshing is the best way to describe it when contrasting the dated look of the host plaza versus the contemporary/modern interior of Sumran. Most of the people that I've introduced to Sumran just say "whoa" when they walk in for the first time. The Food - In general, the cost of food scales with the look and feel of a restaurant. Thankfully, one of Sumran's many strengths is their modest prices while maintaining a quality atmosphere. The lunch specials do not fall short of options with each special including the soup of the day or salad; my personal favorites are the Yellow Curry and the Gai Ka Pow. Having frequented Sumran enough, I've tried a large portion of their menu and can say that I've never been disappointed. Occasionally, there will be specials or limited time offerings advertised out front. If available, be sure to get the Khao Soy/Soi, it doesn't disappoint. The Service - I've been going to Sumran since they first opened as "Sumran" and have seen their lunch rush grow from just a few tables to a full house and have never been let down by the staff. They are always attentive and responsive and will sometimes chat with the customers depending on how busy it is. Food always comes out at consistent times and the restaurant is never understaffed. The Conclusion (tl;dr) - Nice atmosphere. Great and friendly staff. Great food at moderate prices with worthwhile specials. Also, in case you're curious, the owner and staff are Thai from Thailand.

I got to try a wide variety of foods at a wedding rehearsal dinner. Everything was very flavorful. The seafood salad had some spicy kick to it, which was nice. The Thai iced tea I got was so pretty and cute in its little jar, but had maybe too much cream for my liking. The food was a little salty overall, and the next day my fingers had swelled up because of all the sodium. I'd go again anyway! :) Bathroom was clean.

When I first walked in, I didn't expect the place to look as organized. Their lighting sets a relaxing type of mood; a bit dark. The place needs a/c. Their servers seem friendly and accommodated us right away to get our table. I got the Tom yum goong fried rice and my gf got pad sew ew. The fried rice has a tangy flavor that complimented the saltiness very well. And their pad sew ew is better than most I've tried. Over all I give the experience 8/10.

Nice place. Friendly service. Good foods. Affordable. They even have a bar. ... How awesome is that. I had the green papaya salad and it was delicious. Eggplants Deluxe is seasoned well but the eggplants was quite soggy. The Thai Ice Tea was good. Prak Prik King with beef was alright. I didn't like the taste and it's definitely off my order list. Pad Thai was good but a bit too eggy & lemony 4 me. Sweet Roti dessert was pretty tasty!

Food was okay, nothing extraordinary. Felt the prices were a bit high for what you're getting. Service was good. The place was clean. Ordered the following: Pork Pad See Ew - too greasy, bland Seafood Tom Yum Soup - Good Pork Ribs - I forget the exact name, good texture and flavor but needed a better sauce Battered Fish with apple sauce - good White Rice - ordered 4 and ate 2, would have been nice if the waitress told me it was too much rice instead of telling me they're individual portions. My only other complaints would be the knife that came with the ribs was too dull, ended up using a fork, and the motion detector on the light switch in the restroom wasn't working.

Went with the family to try out this place since yelpers seem to love it. Between the four of us, we ordered the pad thai, drunken noodle, eggplant delight, and forgot what my sis ordered. In any case, the service was excellent. The eggplant delight was okay, but I've had better. The pad thai was on the sour side which to me seemed odd. The only thing I found to be truly outstanding was the drunken noodle. Cons: I thought that it was a little pricey for Thai food. The drinks were overpriced if you ask me. $2 something is a bit too much for Thai ice tea when I know that other places usually charge $1.50 or give it out for free. Overall, the food was just okay but found the place to be bit overpriced (or maybe I'm just cheap lol ^^)

I've eaten at Sumran many times and today is the day I finally review it. When you eat in, you get a big portion, and when you order to go... you get so little. Why am I paying 9 bucks for such a small portion? When I eat in the store, I can barely finish it. The food is good, but the to-go just threw me off. I had to make instant noodle after eating the appetizer sized pad thai, I got to-go. I would have rather spent my 20 bucks at McDonalds.

Gold standard for Thai food. Maybe the gold standard for all food. Everything is made with fresh healthy ingredients and soul. Must try mango sticky rice, when available. Staff is friendly and place is spotless. Going there right now... :)

Quick, friendly and warm service. Not the best Thai I have ever had but certainly VERY tasty. The decor is inviting and gives you a relaxing sense and a break from your busy day. I highly recommend this place.

After trying to come here a few times and finding them closed or having a private event, I finally got to try last night, and I really, really like it. It has a nice clean feel to it and its decoration is very pleasing. But the food is the star.... Started off with the E-Saan sausage (Northern Thai sour sausage served with fresh ginger, peanuts, fresh thai chili, on top of lettuce), and a large Singha and a thai iced tea. The sausage was a very good starter and, with the fresh ginger, got us going. Next was the Pad Prik King with beef, and the Panang curry with chicken. We got it with white rice, but they offer brown rice for $1 more. Both of these dishes were excellent. The GF, who does not generally like thai curry, loved the curry. The Pad Prik Kink had some nice spice, but wasn't too overpowering. They have a good selection of appetizers, salads, veggie dishes (choice of beef, chicken, pork or tofu), and noodles (Pad thai and Pad See Ew come to mind). Also, they generally have some specials on the board. A welcome addition to the Thai cuisine in the area and a must try. I will certainly be back.

I have never been so in love with a restaurant! The panang curry is literally the most flavorful and tasty I've ever had. The service here is PHENOMENAL, as well. They are extremely attentive and super helpful with telling you what goes good with what. The atmosphere is calming and the decorations are beautiful. Definitely will be coming back!!!!

My wife and I walk in the door and were greeted with the most rude stares I've ever seen in my life. A look of pure disgust and disdain by the group of lady employees sitting around a table doing nothing but chatting and eating food. A look that sent shivers down my spine and the instant feeling of "eff this place, let's go where we are wanted as customers". Then a really nice lady quickly rushes to us welcoming us and took us to a table. While we were looking over the menu the same group of ladies were staring at us and whispering. My wife and I felt so uncomfortable and were ready to leave but then an extremely friendly waiter came over so we decided to stay. Sumran..... how about you treat your customers with a bit more respect. Your rude kitchen staff could learn a thing or two from the wait staff. For an appetizer we started with "Golden Needles" which is seasoned and deep fried enoki mushrooms. I've never seen this before on a menu so I had to try it. Enoki are very thin so it did look like a plate of golden needles. Our waiter said to enjoy them first without any sauce but then if we wish drizzle some of the sweet & sour spicy sauce on top. Sure enough, they tasted great both ways. Fun appetizer. yelp.com/biz_photos/sumr… Entrees: Pad Med Mamuang with chicken: Chicken was sauteed with cashew nuts, onions, green onions, carrots, and roasted red chilies. My wife wanted to try this and I thought to myself "yawn...sounds boring". I was totally wrong. It was packed full of flavor. The sauce had a rich taste almost like beef broth and soy that really tasted great. All the chicken was tender with no gristle. Sauce was so good we were pouring every drop off the plate onto our rice. Only complaint is it had zero spiciness to it even to my wife who think del scorcho sauce is spicy. Made no sense either since it was full of chilies. I topped it with those tiny green Thai peppers soaking in fish sauce so that kicked it up a notch. yelp.com/biz_photos/sumr… Beef Panang: Slices of beef with bell peppers, kaffir lime leaves, creamy coconut milk, and panang curry. It also had a strong lemon grass flavor. I was a bit disappointed the beef isn't slow cooked in the curry like most Thai restaurants but it was a fantastic dish. Even though the cooked beef was added to the curry it was very tender and the sweet curry was loaded with flavor. Wasn't the best panang I've had but it was very enjoyable. yelp.com/biz_photos/sumr… Besides the horrible greeting the wait staff was extremely friendly. My wife who I believe puts Thai Cuisine on her least favorite list not only enjoyed her meal but said she'd definitely come back. I too want to come back to try more dishes. I used to eat at the previous Thai restaurant at this address and was happy to see the very nice remodel job Sumran did. Very classy vibe to it.

I'm sure their overall star rating is 4 stars because their food is good. I like their pad kee mao and the papaya salad but their portions aren't up to par with their prices. Usually I always have left over noodle dishes but I actually finished my pad kee mao. At other Thai places I have to bring it home for the price that is offered here. So other than that it's good and the prices aren't overpriced but if you know Thai food I'm sure you can find a better place. The papaya salad wasn't spicy when I asked for spicy but maybe that's me because I love spicy dishes! And the pad kee mao is a little oily. Other than that I have nothing else to critique! Try if you're willing to try, it never hurts. I would only come if I'm just in the area and I'm hungry and don't want to go elsewhere. But I wouldn't make it a trip to come here.

This place is proof that you shouldn't judge a book by its cover! I did take-out from here last night for dinner. I ordered online and just went and picked it up about 30 min. after. Pretty convenient. Instead of getting my usual tom yum soup or green curry, I decided to try some new stuff. I got the glass noodle salad with shrimp, the pineapple fried rice, the crying tiger, and the moo grob. My favorite of them all was the moo grob. It was fried, crispy pork and it came with rice. How have I not known of this dish before?! It was like thick, crunchy bacon. I'd take this over regular bacon any day! The pineapple fried rice was also pretty good. It could have used a little more seasoning though. The crying tiger was a little overdone and it was a little tough. The sauce that came with it was good though. The salad was just okay. Nothing too memorable. Of course, I also got a Thai iced tea. Refreshing, but I've had better. Walking in, you're greeted with this dark, sleek, romantic interior. The outside facade did not prepare me for that at all. Service was good. Prices were decent. Overall, I was pretty satisfied. I want to come back for that crispy pork!

Love coming here to eat. They know my order as a "regular" before I even sit down. Very nice staff and very clean restaurant/bathroom. Make sure you ask for "Thai hot" if you really like spicy. Mango iced tea is awesome.

This restaurant used to be called something else. I came here when they first changed ownership, and was sad to find out they didn't have my favorite dish on their new menu. It was a spicy bamboo dish. During my last visit, the manager said they could accommodate my custom order request and charge me for a similar dish with pretty much the same ingredients. Today, I was in the area so I dropped by to order some takeout. This time they wanted to charge an additional $2.00 to add bamboo to a dish. I don't mind paying extra for a custom order, but it really irritates me when restaurants try to rip you off like this. If they were using fresh bamboo, I probably wouldn't mind paying $2.00. But they're not. They use the cheap, canned bamboo that cost less than a buck at the market. And they probably would only be using 1/3rd or 1/2 the can only. Iced coffee $2.95. Bamboo $2.00. Does this make any sense? Bye bye.

My girlfriend and I LOVE Thai food and most of our favorite places have shut down. We found them because we wanted something easy to order and to-go styled, and I have to say I'm VERY impressed with the food. The food is great, the ordering is convenient, and the staff are always very nice. We love the yellow curry and pad thai with either chicken or tofu, we tend to switch back and forth. Their thai tea is also very good! Definitely a great go-to restaurant, especially if you just need to get quality food to-go!

This is my favorite Thai place, hands down. I cannot even put into words how impressed I am with this place. Food is amazing and the best service I have ever recieved at a restaurant (consistantly)! Food: The sampler plate (calamari, satay chicken, eggrolls, and tempura). This is a no brainer, you HAVE TO get this as an appetizer. They have an array of sauces to accompany this place and the perfect cucumber salad...and I usually HATE cucumbers. The satay chicken is my favorite of the four, but trust me when I say, this one is a must! Their pad see ew and pad thai are amazing. Its not JUST noodles like most places and the flavor is consistantly on point. I also tried their Pan nang curry (they have diff levels of spices) and my god, my mouth is literally watering as I write this review thinking about this curry! Its a flavor explosion in your mouth and if you have no shame, you'll probably lick the bowl. The owner was sweet enough to end our meal with complimentary dessert of fried bananas and ice cream and it was so incredible, im at lost for words. service: they are the sweetest people ever, family owned and they set the standard for customer service. They take the time to explain the dish, offer awesome recomendations, and they are super attentive with refills. I came twenty minutes before they closed one night and they welcomed me with open arms, their service never waivered, and I did not once feel rushed. This place is dimly lit, very romantic but still casual. The prices are extremely fair and its the cleanest Thai restaurant I have ever visited!

My friend and I decided to eat lunch at Sumran Thai Cuisine. It has a very pleasant atmosphere and excellent service. I had the ginger pork, it was delicious. My friend had the green curry chicken. It had just the right amount of spice. Very reasonable prices. I recommend it for everyone.

We discovered this place shortly after they opened as we enjoy going there before massages that are in the same center. This is a family run business and the service and food is outstanding. Best pad see ew I have had! They are so accommodating and friendly! Have brought many friends here and everyone loves it!

Sorry Sumran, I was rooting for you. Food is average. Customer Service needs more work. I ordered for delivery and waited over an hour. I called to check on my food and they said there was no delivery. She then argued with me and said "No. No delivery". Did not bother to check with my order, asked for my name or phone number. I had to explain my order to her. She then realized that my food have been sitting there and asked me if I was going to pick it up. She then yells at her co-worker in Thai as I was on the phone and understood everything. Please use the hold button. Horrible customer service. On top of that, she cops an attitude. Ugh! Never going back. Like I said, food was so so.

This is the most legit thai food I've had since I moved to Orange County. The salads are spot on. Like how my mom and old boss would make it. I had the beef salad delivered to work and it was so good I came back for dinner! The flavors are true to the culture and I think I may have just found my new go to Thai place :D

Excellent food! Great price and really yummy. We got the beef Penang and shrimp pad Thai. I asked for the Penang spicy and man was it hot! Be careful! I like heat so I didn't mind so much. The curry was still excellent. It helped having some ice cold freshing coconut juice to wash it down. Great pad Thai too! Overall five stars. The restaurant is nice and clean, with a very modern and dark look. Definitely a good date spot. Great job guys! A newly found gem for me in Westminster.

Pretty sure I've already written a review for this but I'll go again. Location: Kinda a crappy location neighborhood wise, but really easy access wise. Corner street mall next to the 405 and westminster. Lots of parking in the center's lot. Interior: Spacious, modern, clean, comfortable seating FOOD: Some of the best thai around. Maybe their yellow curry isn't as good as Rocharin's, but their noodles here are waaaaaay better than Rocharins. I've had so far: The panang curry. Absolutely wonderful. Flavorful, deep, rich. I'd get this every-time if I was that type of person. Pad thai: I hate Pad Thai. Generic, uncreative, overdone, lame. I liked this one. Quite alot. A nice flavor, and a serious portion Yellow Curry: Very Good flavor, a little more orange than i would expect. Our Veggies were a bit underdone which isn't a bad thing, just noticed it. The only comment was that it was TOO mild, but that was fixed with the spice rack Eggplant Delight: I think that was the name. OMG!!!! This was good. For a veggie dish (I got it with tofu) it was mind-blowing. First of all, the veggies (eggplant and carrots) were beautifully aldente, which is difficult to do with eggplant. The flavor was super tasty, rich, and had that characteristic you usually only get when you incorporate a meat. ***SPICE**** So I'm a HUGE fan of spice. This is the ONLY place so far that will give it to me spicy enough for me to appreciate. Very Very spicy is freakin deliciously spicy here. They don't mess around. More importantly, they don't just throw in red pepper flakes at the end. The spice is well incorporated into the dish and adds to the flavor, not just shallow heat. Water: I noticed here that the water came in nice, large, heavy glasses. It was nice to have a large water glass, not that common anymore.

Certain dishes were excellent. Delicious red curry. I had mine with chicken. The ribs are not what you would expect. Super dry and breaded. The owner was very nice though and took them off the bill. She says they are very popular so maybe its a cultural specialty. The service is a little slow but they did not lose points because they were so friendly and thoughful.

Wow! I agree that this restaurant is above and beyond my expectations. I bought a Groupon expecting not much, but it turned out to be the best Thai restaurant I've had in OC! The service was great. The waiter was very friendly with my son - he even offered to watch him while we ate. The food was fresh and tasted delicious.

I look around at the tired little strip mall, then at the chic Thai restaurant. This is Westminster? Maybe in an alternate universe..but no, there's the table tennis hangout, and across the street I can see Westminster Lanes. Sumran is sparkly new, fresh and clean like the morning after a rain: the food tastes like it, too -- they use the best vegetables with that just-picked quality, and everything is cooked to order. This great new place opened under my nose about a month ago, but I didn't notice right away. I was teetering between awarding Sumran four and five stars, and then I tried their Pad See Ew. Five stars won. The curries here are another winner, the green curry chicken being my new Most Favoritest Curry. If there was one thing that didn't deserve a five star rating it would be their spicy beef salad; the lettuce quality was there, but the dressing had little flavor and the beef seemed bland and skimpy. The shrimp salad however was nice if you took away the big wedge of cabbage (not my favorite thing to find taking up half a salad's volume). But if you consider a Crying Tiger dish to be a salad of sorts -- and I do -- then Sumran's Crying Tiger more than made up for their beef salad's lackings. As of now I've only been visiting Sumran for lunches and takeout, but every part of my visits from the service to the chic makeover, have been just right. This may be the one restaurant in my part of town that would qualify for a romantic date option. But remember, this is Westminster -- aka, affordable. For the moment at least....

We just tried this place for the first time and it was so freakin good!! I had the Pad Ka Pow, you can choose from 5 spice levels. I picked spicy and it was the most spicy thing I've ever had!! And I love spicy! My boyfriend had the Pad Kee Mao with the same spice level. His was just as spicy and tasty! We will definitely be trying this place again but next time medium spice level for sure!! The only reason they lost a star is because the portion size we received was super small compared to other Thai places. Other than that we will definitely get delivery from Sumran again!

Wow! I didn't expect much from here going in and I'm glad I didn't. I ordered seafood salad and a bowl of tom yum soup with veggies instead of shrimp/chicken. Seafood salad came with mussels, squid, octopus, white fish and shrimp on top of lettuce, tomatoes, carrots and red onions. The dressing was just the way I liked it, sweet, sour, salty, and spicy. Hit every spectrum of flavors. Delicious. Tom yum was different, they add milk to their soup, nonetheless, delicious also. For dessert I ordered the roti, yummy!! Crispy crepe like dessert, drizzled with condensed milk and cinnamon. Definitely coming back here.

Last night, I had dinner with my siblings and boyfriend here. I liked the Thai tea, the food was okay. I don't think this place would be my favorite compared to the other places.

I live in Huntington Beach and had left my car at the shop overnight for some work. I was really craving some .pad thai and tried to order in once but they told me that I was half a mile too far and they wouldn't do it. I was really disappointed because this place had good reviews and I've been dying to find a good Thai restaurant around HB. Fast forward to now, I came with my parents and fiance on a weekend and man this place did not disappoint. The pad thai was delicious. We also ordered the papaya salad and green egg plant curry which I also recommend. However, the star of the night was the pad see ew. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. I'll be coming back for sure.

This place exceeded my expectations for lunch. I wasn't expecting such fresh and great quality food. No offense, but I wasn't too sure about this place being in a strip mall; However I was sorely mistaken. I will be coming back to this place!

I love the modern vibe I get from this restaurant. With the cool, asymmetrical table we were seated at, and the drinks served to us in mason jars, Sumran Thai is out to make a statement. And I was impressed. We came with a large party, but all our dishes arrived more or less at the same time. Our appetizers, the Go Green Satay (thanks for not using sticks) and Sumran Calamari, were both delicious and well portioned. The lunch specials are a great deal, with most of the dishes at only $6.95. It comes with a soup or salad too! I got the Green Curry Chicken with Tofu Soup. The soup was a pleasantly yummy surprise; usually I don't expect tofu soups to have much flavor, but this one was bursting with it. The curry was filling and mildly spicy (don't know if there were spicier options, but they were not offered). However, my mom's pork with ginger had far too much ginger in it, so steer clear of that. Great bang for your buck! Even without the great lunch specials, the normal menu is fairly priced, or at least the same as a lot of other Thai restaurants I've been to. For dessert, someone in our party asked for mango sticky rice, but they said they didn't have any more :( We settled for Fried Green Tea Ice Cream instead, and it was a delicious, delicious compromise. Food: 4.5, Service: 4, Environment: 5, Price: 4

Very impressed by this restaurant. Great ambiance. The Panang beef was prolly the best I've had. The chicken pad Thai was very dry and not flavorful. Now I know to stick to the curries. Pretty moderately priced.

This place is excellent. The food and service is wonderful. We ordered the Sumran Pok Pok salad, Pad See Ew and Tom Yum soup. For desert we got the fried green tea ice cream. I really like the Pad See Ew. The flavor is just right. The noodles were not soggy. Overall, I recommend this place. Btw, the place is clean.

Fresh satay spring roll was really fantastic. my wife and I had the pad woon sen and ginger mushroom(very gingery). Everything was fresh tasty. Zero to complain about. Definitely a great meal.

I was in the area on a work break and had curry on the brain so I stopped in here. Pros: -good ambiance- modern but cozy decorations -cheap lunch specials- $6.95 for soup or salad and an entree -they offer brown rice -the green curry was delicious! It was mild (even for my white girl taste buds) but I added spice to it. It was a touch sweet, but I liked it -delicious jasmine rice; it held it's own among the curry Cons: -my soup came out warm, not hot at all -I ordered brown rice, but was served white -this is picky but they served the curry on a flat plate- I prefer it in a bowl or at least shallow bowl- the sauce was spread all over the plate and the veggies weren't soaking in it while I ate... I had to do a lot of scraping to get all the sauce -I would've like more curry- I cleared my plate except for some rice (however I hadn't eaten all day so I was pretty famished) Overall- I would still come back! It's a fairly inexpensive alternative to fast/ grab and go food

We can here for pre movie dinner which is close by to Regency Theatre. They have happy hour pricing. I got a glass of Australian Merlot for $4. Which was very good. A better deal was for a whole bottle for $15. Another happy hour deal was $2 off appetizers. This is what we ordered. Fried shrimp, fresh vege chicken rice wrap, calimari, chicken pad gai taim, red duck curry, & lychee fried rice. The flavors were fresh & spices bursting in my mouth. You can control your own heat with added chilli if so desired. The ambiance is very clean & modern. The staff is attentive & my water which tasted clean was kept filled. I would definitely be coming back.

Great food. Great price and ambiance. Clean sleek yet Thai feel. Service was good. Had the pad keep mao, nice flavor perfect spice and good meat for 9 bucks. Shared my wife's dish fried pork belly served Chinese broccoli style..and desert. Fried banana with ice cream or wait for it...fried ice cream!

Was a first time customer for lunch yesterday. Was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food. Service was also very good. The place looks a bit old on the outside, but much nicer insider. I had the pad woon sen, which is the clear rice noodles with vegetables and meat. It was very good. Portions seemed ok to me. About average. My companion had the pad thai. She liked it, it was a large portion. Would definitely come again. A little pricey for the area given it was not yet dinner time. Two entrees and one drink cost about $25 with tip.

One of my favorite Thai spots in the beach cities area of OC. Sumran serves a more modern take on some traditional Thai favorites. The atmosphere is clean and sharp, waiters are generally attentive, and the prices are very reasonable. One thing I have noticed is that their in-shop food is much better than when I have ordered deliveries - which are fast, but consistently missing something or incorrectly placed. You are much better off ordering take out to pick-up, or just coming in to get the full experience. Heads-up though, this place is a blast freezer of A/C, so order something spicy to warm up!

  • Katie H.

One of the best Thai places I've been to in the OC! Their papaya salad has a really nice kick of heat, but not to the point where your tongue feels like it is going to fall off. The drunken noodles are also a fav of mine! Again, just the right amount of spice to make the meal more exciting :) Everything tasted very fresh! Only downside was that it took a while for our food to come out. I have yet to try the roti dessert that many seem to talk about but the mango and sticky rice dessert is a must! Particularly right now since it is still summer and mangos are still in season. The rice had the perfect amount of stickiness and coconut flavor, without overpowering the mangos. Another plus is that the thai iced tea came out in cute mason jars!! I'm such a sucker for cute things like that. The drink itself was pretty refreshing too. There is a definitely romantic vibe with the dark decor but I like it and I shall return, especially since it's so close by!

Love the food, and we love the service. We look forward to dining in because everyone is so nice. Everyone is. The delivery is great service, too, but obviously not as much interaction. Haven't tried a lot on the menu, because we keep ordering the same stuff, we love it so much.

We used to come here ALL THE FREAKING TIME. It's one of the cleanest thai places we've been to. We loved it. It was just so easy. EXCEPT, they were closed one random day. The sign read, "Exhaust fan broken, CLOSED"... Suspiciously, I walked to the front door to see a very frustrated kitchen crew. Scrambling around, looking very stressed. They opened the door and stated that they would be back in business in 2-3 days. FOR AN EXHAUST FAN? I guess I must look like a freaking idiot or something for someone to think that would actually sound reasonable to me. Because, IT'S NOT. THEY WERE CLOSED FOR ROACH INFESTATION. Yes! So many people got sick and reported them to the health department that they had a random SURPRISE inspection! If I didn't look it up (which I would've anyway).. I 'd never known. The sad part is that they lied. The gross part is that people got SICK from it. The worst part is that we used to eat here. I feel disgusted. Do you even know how many roaches you need to have to get shut down for more than half a day?! It's got to be FREAKING HORRIBLY ..Fuggetaboutit. EHHHHHHHHHHK!!!!!! So mad

We have eaten here before without any prob but last weekend we had FOOD POISONING that lasted the whole weekend. Vomited until we couldn't vomit anymore, my friend had to go to ER since he became dehydrated, and had severe diarrhea. I looked up this restaurant inspection record and they had a long rap sheet as of 7/10/14! So they lost this local customer ! Strongly NOT recommended!

This place is fantastic!! Friendly, family owned. Great service. Clean!! Everything on the menu looks fantastic. It is hard to choose a dish. They have specials that are not on the menu. I had the Grilled Squid with spicy dipping sauce. Very good! You won't find it on the menu as it was a special for the day. Highly recommend it when it returns as the daily special. My daughter and GF had the Pad Kee Mao (drunkin noodles) with the spice level from 1-10 they both chose the level 7. Just the right amount of heat. Very delicious! Noodles were perfect!! The portion size is large so next time we will all order different dishes so we can share and try each dish. (Family Style) Dad Deaw- Beef or Pork Thai Jerky with the spicy dipping sauce is wonderful! Sweet Roti for dessert ! So good ! Can't wait to go back and try everything on the menu !

Whenever my girlfriend and I are craving Thai food, this place is number one on our list. The cooks really know what they are doing and utilize each ingredient to ensure that a the flavors pop and stand out. I recommend the Pad See Ew, Thom Kar hotpot, Angry Fried Rice(spicy!), and the Sumran calimari, shrimp and shortribs. A lot of the dishes are customizable to what kind of meat you want too (seafood, beef, chicken or mixed). The prices are a bit higher than most, but it is still very affordable and translatable to the foods' quality. The establishment has a relaxed ambience with the dim lighting and quiet noise level, perfect for a conversational get together between friends or that special someone. The staff is friendly and helpful, but expect a slight wait time between check ins for drink fill ups. The wait isn't bad at all, but it is there. The staff's friendliness is their most redeeming quality; you will never see then without smiles on their faces! If your lucky enough to be within the vicinity, they also deliver with surprising speed and comparable food quality. I cannot recommend this place enough and I promise that there is something for anyone here. Just jump in and give it a try, you won't regret it!

Came here for dinner tonight with my boyfriend. The atmosphere was ambient and the staff was friendly. I ordered panang curry with chicken and my boyfriend ordered pad se ew with beef. When our food came out, we were surprised at how small the portions were. Our meals were literally like appetizers to us and we finished our food in less than 10 minutes. The panang curry was ok - I've tasted better. But my boyfriends pad se ew was unappetizing. The noodles were rubbery and hard to chew and the beef was flavorless. We are disappointed. Would I come back? No.

This place is gold! I'm kind of selfishly happy that it's not crazy popular (yet) because I've never had to wait for a table. The food is delicious, and they have numerous vegetarian options. The pricing is really fair considering the good service and quality. For me, the main thing that sets this place aside is the ambiance. I love the window treatments! A lot of hole-in-the-wall Thai food spots have great dishes, but there's usually something lacking about the interior design. Not at Sumran. It's beautifully and simply decorated. I've been to Sumran a few times with my boyfriend and every time is great. They were kind enough to accommodate me and a group for my birthday, and as usual, the service was spot on. They even brought me a (bomb!) birthday dessert. And they have wine. I just really love this place.

This place used to be called Chaiyo but they closed down and remodeled it. I'm not sure if it's under the same management or not but I still love this place. In fact, I actually like it a lot more now. The ambiance is a lot more romantic now with candles and flowers displayed on every table. They dim the lights and play really chill music (I've been wanting to ask them where they get their music from for the past year but I keep forgetting). Their service is excellent. My glass of water was never half empty. The food came out promptly. I like their new serveware set; it goes well with their careful presentation. I don't have any complaints. This is my new favorite place to go to for Thai food. Actually, it has always been my favorite even when it was called Chaiyo, I just like the new improvements more. Even though they made everything look a lot more classy, prices have not changed which is awesome because you can still get fancy without burning a hole in your pocket. The only thing I thought was weird was how the servers kept coming over to check up on us every 2 minutes asking "is everything okay?" I know they're just trying to be helpful and courteous but I had 3 different people ask me that like at least 10 times in one seating lol. It's okay though I'm pretty sure they're just paranoid because it's new. I will definitely be coming back again very soon! I'm probably going to become a regular...

The iced green tea I ordered was very refreshing. My meal started with a silver noodle soup which was pretty bland/boring. I then got the yellow curry chicken... unfrigginbelievable!! Sweet, savory with the right amount of spice. The servers are nice if not always "present". I will definitely be returning :)

Love this family business. Food is freshly prepared, delicious, lovely presentation. All of the employees are friendly and gracious. One can eat there, or carry out, we do both. While you are waiting to pick up your order, they seat you and bring a cold glass of water while you wait. Large variety of Thai food, reasonable prices.

Best Thai place I've eaten at. The service is great and so was the food. We ordered a bunch of food off the menu but the trout with apple sauce, chicken pad see ew, beef panang, and the bomb seafood combo was the best! This is now my go to Thai place in the OC area.

This thai restaurant is under new ownership and thank goodness because when it used to be called Chaiyo, it gave Thai food a bad rep. Thai food is my favorite type of food and Sumran is now my favorite place in Orange County so far. Ever since they changed names/ownership, they must have also hired a new chef because the flavors and quality of the food is so much better. My family loves eating Thai food family style so we order a ton of different dishes off the menu. We've ordered: pad see ew, pad thai, spicy tom yum soup, duck salad, duck curry, thai omelet, golden noodles, fried fish, fish cakes, chicken satay, and the list goes on. My favorite will always be pad see ew as well as all of their other noodle dishes because the texture of the noodles is perfect (chewy and firm, but not too firm and definitely not soft). Some of the dishes could be a little salty, but I like my foods salty whereas my grandparents and parents don't like it that way. Customer service could be a little improved upon, but for the most part they are pretty good.

The restaurant is really nice with the dim light and the cute decoration. Their dishes are very delicious, with me, it is the best Thai restaurant around here. the waiters and waitresses are really nice, and they really care about their customers. One time I came here with my family, there was one of their employees show me which chili go with which dishes (because they have plenty of chili sauces ). Really nice place and i highly recommend this for my friends.

Wah! I got cravings for Thai curry after I went to the 626 Night Market in Arcadia or something like that and I asked yelp for good Thai places around and I was kinda shocked to find one nearby. The interior is kinda dark, but I'm not bothered by it. It's pretty spacy too. The service is pretty good. I was seated immediately and while eating I was checked up on fairly often. I had the yellow curry lunch special the first time I visited and the green curry the second time. I don't really know how to describe the taste of the curry but I thought they were both really good (Sidenote: I don't really like bamboo shoots, but they weren't so bad). Ummm the portioning of the meal itself looked small but I was rather full after finishing the plate. I'll probably try something that's not curry next time around.

I went here last night for the first time since they changed their name. While the place looks nice,I was sadly disappointed. They no longer have the entree I usually order. We ordered three entrees which all came out at different times. The portions were kinda small also.It took a long time for each one to be brought to us and each one was kinda cold.We were never asked if we wanted rice.I guess you have to pay extra. So I ordered some sticky rice that came to me in foil shaped like a brick. It was the only thing hot. There are better places in that area.

This place is great! Came here for dinner, and absolutely loved everything. We ordered the tom yum noodle soup, which was delicious. Between the two of us we finished the entire pot! We also had the pad see ew, which was delicious. Sweet and savory at the same time! Service was friendly, not too slow, and the ambience is nice and quiet. So glad we found this new gem!

This restaurant is a wonderful neighborhood Thai food place. The decor is super cute and simple inside and the servers are wicked nice. The food is good, but not fantastic. My fiance and I go here at least once a week because it's 1.5 miles from our house. If you like spicy food try the drunken noodle dish, it's quite good!

I went here twice and both times I ordered the chicken pad thai and I wasn't really satisfied because I felt the pad thai had a "funny" taste then the other pad thai's i've had at other thai restaurants, but this is just my opinion because it might taste fine for other customers. The servers are pretty nice as well and the place is pretty clean and the restroom is pretty clean as well. I'll come back to try other dishes when I come to westminister but i'll probably just order something else instead of the pad thai.

Well I would have loved to have been able to rate this place for the food ... only though I was not able to even step foot into the place. The hours of operation? False. Apparently it is only when they feel like opening. Do not waste your time coming unannounced. Last Friday my boyfriend and I finally decided to have a date night after my pregnancy cravings were dying for pad see ew and I have been yelping like crazy for a good place. Luckily he lives in the area so we called ahead to get take out. No one answered after six calls. Straight to voicemail? So we went down to eat in and guess what? All the lights were off and it WAS CLOSED. Oh yeah it was 7:30 pm. ON A FRIDAY. I had read in one review a while back that their hours were off. They were right. Drove back from picking up dinner somewhere else and it was still closed for the rest of the night. Drove by yesterday, closed in the afternoon. They were open when I was on my way to work. WHEN ARE YOUR ACTUAL HOURS? So sad to see a business work like this. Sumran you just lost two customers with a big appetite who live right around the area.

Really good food with a really friendly staff. I don't have one negative thing to say about this place. It's a great place to dine, with a comfortable atmosphere. The food seems to be expedited if they know you are waiting to take it to go.

Really disappointed with this place. I ended up here looking for Chaiyo. The place is under new owner etc. Decided to give the place a try and check it out and ordered to go - chicken pad Thai and the Tom Yum Goong soup. The soup was NOT Tom Yum Goong - the broth tasted like Miso Soup!! I'm surprised at the reviews that says it's the best Tom Yum they've had....I guess they've never had authentic Thai soup - not Japanese!! To make it worse, I paid $12.95 for the large soup which came in a small container with 6 shrimps. Yes we counted since we couldn't find any. Then the soup was all broth barely any mushrooms or other ingredients. And the pad Thai - chicken was sparse and dry. The pasta was overlooked and pad Thai was extremely bland. Plus I'm pretty sure there were no peanuts. Overall, I will never return to this place! I made a mistake of trying them out and wasting $25 in two measly disappointing dishes.

Good customer service. Nice, clean space. Great Thai food. Red curry, pad thai shrimp, spare ribs, tom yum koong, Spring rolls, chicken satay, pork belly with basil and Chinese broccoli and sweet roti were all delicious. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

I will some this up in two words; THE BEST!! we found this jem on a whim while getting lost going to the Westminster Mall. The staff here is super friendly. The food is authentic and very fresh. Tried the Thai tea which was very different but refreshing. The coconut soup is to die for. The best I have ever had. Beef satay was flavorful, tender and cooked to perfection. For the main course I had a spicy shrimp and rice dish (sorry, the name escaped me). I love the spices and flavors that are used to create this dish. One of the tastiest Thai meals I have ever eaten!. I'm bummed that this place is so far north of where I live but will have to make the drive again soon!

Fantastic Thai food, they deliver (if you're lucky enough to live within 3 miles), AND you can order online, AND you can pay with Paypal?! It's too good to be true! I don't have leave the house, I don't have to actually speak to anybody, I don't have to dig my credit card out of my purse and I can enjoy really really good Thai! Yay! We recommend their Pad See Ew (we get it with beef...best I've had locally)...also loved their Angry Sumran Fried Rice (we ordered mild, and it was still SPICY...and I usually have to ask for things to be extra spicy so Sumran scores more points for not messing around with the heat factor). Love this place. A must try if you like Thai.

Family has been telling me about this restaurant for awhile and so we finally went together. I was very impressed with their food and did not have one thing I did not like. I liked the fact that they made some traditional dishes that I rarely find here when asked. So don't be afraid to go off menu. If you are looking to try a new Thai place I would say you can't go wrong here.

Solid Thai food spot. Very nice interior, easy acess location with plenty of parking. Portions were large and about $9. Wasn't a fan of their mango green tea- they made it with sugar syrup...yuck. But the meal itself was great.

I ordered the thai BBQ chicken lunch special. It was 6.95 for 4 well seasoned (curry) and cooked chicken. The soup was so flavorful and the boiled meat was so tender and that was just the appetizer. They serve fountain coke here and free refills! That's an extra star immediately. The decor is somewhat dark but probably meant for the night dinner time. Hidden place in Westminster. I'll be coming back to try other dishes.

Ordered delivery the night of moving to Huntington Beach. I was able to order online and was even able to tip in advance! Along with free delivery, I already felt really good about the place. Food came on-time (~40 minutes after ordering) and was still piping hot. Ordered the red curry and wonton soup. Very good flavors, almost reminiscent of my mom's cooking. Got a good portion of rice, which I was very happy about. The only problem was that there were no utensils. Not a big problem and definitely not big enough to lose a star over. If you need the utensils, play it safe and add it in the comments when ordering online.

Duck salad was fresh and different. I would ask for the dressing on the side next time as the fish sauce was a little over powering. The ka pow rice entree dish was pork belly and fried basil in a savory sauce. Yummmm! Yes the roti dessert is a must. I love condense milk!

The restaurant is newly remodeled and very cozy. Staffs are friendly and prompt. We ordered the pineapple shrimp fried rice w raisins and nuts, which was moist and flavorful. The seafood combination was excellent. Fresh seafood (shrimp, squid, fish, and scallop) sate in the chile sauce. A little spicy but very tasty

This place is not what you'd expect, but in a good way. I like the decor, it looks professional, but the place is run by a super nice family. It's in a random plaza near the freeway, but when you step in it's instantly cozy and feels like it came out of a bustling city. The food we got was less than $9 an entree, but I would've gladly spent $16-18 at another restaurant and have been satisfied. We ordered the Kang Dang red curry, the Bangkok style soup, and the Po-Pia spring rolls. They were all excellent and I worked hard to get every last bit of my curry's spices before I left. That itself should be a huge compliment to the chef. If I lived closer, I could see this quickly becoming a regular spot. It's got all the makings for one: yummy food and an expansive, yet not expensive, menu. One of my new favourites, I'm glad Yelp steered me to a place I would've otherwise driven past!

Excellent customer service. The crew seems happy and up-beat. Had their garlic grilled salmon that was quite delicious! Cooked to perfection with a side of white rice, green beans, broccoli, and sliced carrots. Thai Tea to wash it all down! I will be coming back and hope this business stays busy! Thanks guys!

amazing service! I ordered the typical chicken pad thai and it was alright (like any other pad thai - it was kinda missing carrots &peanuts &chili flakes tho..). Since it is my first time here, I'm hoping to come back and try their other dishes. My favorite though was their DESSERT roti, booommbbb! Must try!! The ambience and decor is super nice! Clean, modern. I want to go again at dinner time for the dark, candle-lit ambience :3 The flowers on the table were also super pretty :) They also serve their drinks in mason jars, trendy and unique! But to top it all off, the service was amazing and on point!! Our servers were super nice and always attentive. At the end of the meal they asked me & my bf if we had an recommendations to their menu, told us their special deals, and were genuinely concerned if we enjoyed our meal. A+++! Forsure coming back here again :)

Food Quality, Service, Cleanliness!!! I am a devoted vegan with a very restrictive diet (No added Salt, Sugar, Oil). The family owners here know my dietary restrictions and honor them with tasty delicious options such as the Sumran Salad, Fresh Rolls, and Steamed Vegetables. I have a wonderful place to dine out. The owners shop for the vegetables every day to provide excellent quality fresh vegetable options. AOK, for those of you who do not have these restrictive requirements, I frequently overhear from other customers how delicious the food is at this restaurant. I have also known this family for about 14 years. They basically ran another Thai restaurant in Long Beach. I have come to regard them as my friends and now family. They treat you as kin, call you by your name, remember what you enjoy off the menu, and welcome you enthusiastically when you arrive and graciously thank you when you depart. My water glass is never empty! Want great conversation, EG will stop by your table and share life experiences with you. Mom and Dad / Ann / EG and Porn / EJ and Grammy / EK and Pam / June and Junior / Sumran Staff are all wonderful beautiful people. Restaurant is immaculately clean. Very pleasant, comfortable, and relaxing environment. Plenty of parking, restaurant is easily accessible off 405 / Westminster Blvd. Please verify for yourself. You will not be disappointed.

This incredible Thai restaurant came highly recommended to me by a friend and it did not disappoint. I was really taken aback by the calming ambiance. The furniture and the overall design is exquisitely modern and elegant, yet not overbearing. Small touches like flowers in little vases at lunch are delightful as well. The service was superb. I usually go through water glasses pretty quickly and they were ready to fill it up without having to be flagged down as with other restaurants. Since this is a pretty new restaurant, they were quite curious as to how we were doing and if we had any complaints or suggestions; we had none. The food was fantastic. Don't forget to try the appetizers (particularly the chicken satay with a savory peanut sauce). But my all-time favorite at Sumran would have to be their mouth-watering beef pad Thai. I'd recommend it to anyone. To any dieters out there, be warned. Their dessert is beautifully crafted and irresistible! Have a bite or two. You'll love it! Overall, I really enjoyed my dining experience. Five stars all the way.

Usually we dine in, but one of the little ones is teething and totally cranky. Pick up is great too.. We called it in and are picking it up. The pad Thai is awesome, probably the best Thai food I have ever had. The service here is good. My parents are regulars and the servers know them. I like the Thai ice tea too. It is so wild, it is strong and sweet. Great hole in the wall place in the middle of Westminster.

This place has a great happy hour for drinks and some things on the menu. I had the spring rolls for an appetizer the worked nice and crispy. If you like spice get the drunken noodles, noodles were cooked perfectly and the veggies were not over cooked. The atmosphere is very calming. You wouldn't expect the cool vide inside from the appearance outside, its in a strip mall and can be hard to spot.

This place was pretty good! I came for lunch with my boss. He had shrimp fried rice and it looked pretty good. he ate it all and didnt offer me a bite so i guess it was good....i had Thai BBQ chicken and it was a lot of food and pretty tasty. They serve Jasmine rice which was really good. I had to take half of it back to work with me because it was a ton of food. There is a nice lunch special menu for around $7 a plate or so. What a good deal. My only complaint is service is sloooooooow at lunch time. If it wasnt for my boss being with me, i surely would have been in trouble when i got back! I do recommend Sumran but go when you have plenty of time

Tasty Thai food with just the right amount of spices. Cute decor and super friendly service! I highly recommend this restaurant. One of our all time favorite Thai restaurants in So. Cal! We love their creative menu. In addition to the traditional and authentic Thai dishes such as the curries, panangs and Pad See Ew, they also have a few unique items you won't find at most other Thai restaurants. For example, they have this great appetizer that looks like golden haystacks made with enoki mushrooms. They are out of this world! If you are in the O.C. area and craving Thai food, be sure to check this place out. Also worth the drive out to the O.C. for this place even if you are no where near the area!

We found this place thru yelp. We had the spring rolls, 4 small rolls but they were delicious, green curry and one of the fried rice dishes. Everything was really really good. The prices were very reasonable and the decor and ambiance of the restaurant was very nice. Service was good and attentive. We finished dinner with the desert roti. I wish I had known about or seen the menu items on the back page of the menu. There were a few things I would have liked to try.

I was looking for a quick place to pick up lunch so that I could get back to work. I found this place on Yelp so I decided to try it out. I ordered the Yellow Curry lunch special. It came with a heaping bowl of glass noodle soup for only $6.95. (Lunch special). The interior of this place is very nice and it seems very sanitary. Also, you can tell the quality of the meat. My chicken was white and did not look mysterious like what you'd find at other Thai and Chinese restaurants. My take out took about 10 minutes to get but I didn't mind waiting because I knew they were making it fresh. If you want to eat healthy, they offer brown rice (as opposed to white) for $1 extra. I will be recommending this place to friends and co-workers.

I had a baby shower lunch here with a decent sized group and everything seemed to be on point. I had the Pad Thai and also the BBQ chicken dish. Both were good sized portions and were pretty affordable (under 10 bucks). I'm not a Thai food expert so I can't really do a ton of comparison with other Thai places but the flavors were strong and pleasing. Everyone in my group seemed to be pleased with their meals and the service was extremely friendly. They were very accommodating with everyone's needs. I was impressed with the service and their friendly attitude. Good food, solid prices and great service.

This was my first time and it will be my last. Ordered the Jungle prince curry, asked that it be Thai hot, it wasn't even Caucasian hot! Rice was over cooked. I ended up tossing it and drove to Phuket for real curry!

came back to find out my old favorite thai place is under new management and totally gone. The lunch specials are good but not extensive. The prices are a $1 more than the pervious place as well. Otherwise, food is good, clean and great staff.

Food is usually good. We have enjoyed most items except for the deep fried ribs which were not that fantastic. Although they tasted better the next day. It is odd that one of the waiters sits and talks to the visitors as they dine.

  • Patrick V.

The food was very tasty, but that is where the positive ends. The value doesn't make it worth it. Very expensive! I was charged $4 for two small 12oz sodas... to go! Plus, when we got home to open the bag, that was handed to us taped shut so we couldn't inspect before leaving, the portion sizes were horribly small, the sate wasn't even on sticks, there were no napkins, no soy sauce or anything. Just wasn't worth the almost $40 I spent to feed 3 ppl. In an hour we had to find something else to eat. And that was WITH them throwing in an extra portion of rice!!! There are many other places that are a far better value.

The place is remodeled and looks nice . We ordered the fried calamari which was really good, and sumran fried rice which was also pretty yummy. But I ordered pad see Ew , which is my usual order every time I go for Thai, but the noodles were chewy as fuck ! Grosssssss

Love love the food been here a ton of times it's all great food! The customer service is amazing! Every time I've called for an order there super helpful! I remember I called while I was pregnant and wanted Thai tea but the girl informed me it had caffeine in it so she went threw all the other drinks they could make that were safe for me to drink but that would still satisfy my craving lol. So today I came in with my 8month old son. Picked up my food and the girl working the registrar noticed I had my hands full with my son in one arm and my keys, wallet, and cell phone in the other! So not only did she offer to help me she actually opened the door for me AND carried my food to my car (which was not parked right in frount). I swear we have been a ton of times and everyone is always super helpful, nice and patient. This place is great!

All 5 stars! First time here. Beautiful inside. Romantic atmosphere killer food. We had 5 dishes and they were all exquisite. Great presentation and authentic taste. Staff was really nice and helpful explaining the dishes. I'd say this place is a diamond in the rough. You'd never know from the outside appearance what a beautiful place your walking into.

I love this place! My friends and I have their food delivered kinda frequently haha but I also enjoy eating at the restaurant as well. The employees are friendly and I've never had a bad experience. Every time I go I order their Pad see ew, it is so DELICIOUS. Their Thai fried rice and yellow curry is also very yummy (perfect hangover cure) haha This is always my go to Thai food place :)

  • Jackie N.

Love this place! Their service has always been super great. They're so nice, and I've never had a bad experience. Last night we accidentally ordered the wrong dish and they offered to replace it just like that! We ordered the Tuna Tartar, but meant to order Tuna Ceviche (it's not on the menu but it's amazing!!) Right when she brought out the plate we were like omg we ordered the wrong one! and the waitress gladly offered to exchange it for us without an extra charge. We've been a long time customer, and continuously come here ever 1-2 weeks :) Definitely give them a try.

This is a great Thai restaurant! I remember this place used to be known as Chayo or something like that under old management. New management has taken over for a few years now and they revamp the place and cleaned up the menu. The food here is sooo delicious! I've tried quite a lot from the menu from the many times I come where with family and friends. I would get to taste everyone else's dish and thought hey maybe I'll get that next time. The pad Thai here is definitely my favorite. It is moist and flavorful and I usually order mine sans peanuts. They make sure to do it right. You'd think requesting no peanuts is quite simple right? Just don't put them in? Well most places I've been to can't seem to do that because my requests for no peanuts always end up with peanuts... So Sumran is a step ahead because they are attentive. Speaking of attentive- the customer service is wonderful. I never feel forgotten here. Okay, it's quite small of a space so it would be hard to not be but you'd be surprised at some other places where servers would disappear into the kitchen or back for 10+ minutes. They frequent each table making the rounds to ensure their customers are doing well and have everything they need. One last thing- the Tom Yum Goon Fried Rice here is a must try! A great mixture of citrusy, spicy and herbal flavors. It's is a dish you will not regret ordering.

I came here with a couple fellow Yelpers before a CMYE movie down the street. I got to the restaurant about a half an hour before them and saw quite a few people getting orders to go. When we sat down, there was only one other occupied table and one more group came in after we sat down. It's pretty clean and modern inside. We ordered: Pad Ka Pow (Spicy Sautéed Basil) chicken sautéed with fresh basil, chopped string beans, garlic, and fresh chili. Served with rice. Pad Kee Mao (Spicy Drunken Noodles) Stir-fried flat rice noodles, chicken, tomatoes, fresh basil, and chili, served on lettuce. Pad See Ew - Beef, stir-fried flat rice noodles with egg, and Chinese broccoli. They were all good, but the portions were a little smaller than usual. I also got a Thai iced tea and it was served in a small mason jar. Service was fine and there's plenty of free parking in the lot. I'll probably be back before another movie.

  • Jonathan Z.

My group wanted to have a nice sit down dinner before the movie CMYE, so we thought Sumran fit the bill. Upon entering, we were immediately welcomed and show our table. This was before the dinner crowd and on a Monday, so there were plenty of seats available. The seats along the wall are especially comfortable. To start I ordered a Thai iced tea which came in a mason jar. It was not too sweet and tasty. We ordered the yellow curry with chicken and the pad Thai. The yellow curry came with thinly sliced carrots, bell peppers, good chunks of potatoes, and bite sized pieces of white meat chicken. The curry itself was a little thin for my taste, but it was flavorful well made. The pad Thai didn't have peanuts, but the noodles and beet tasted right. I liked Sumran Thai and it will be on my radar for places to eat in Westminster.

I love Thai food and we needed a place to eat before watching the new Avengers movie with the Yelp crew. Outside, it looks unassuming and run down. It's in a weird sector of town but from the inside, it's great, modern, and a nice place to bring a date if you're so inclined or to have a nice fancy sit down dinner with friends and family. Menu is affordable - nothing over $12. I ordered thai iced tea and my usual, the yellow curry with chicken. The thai iced tea was great and refreshing and also presented well in a mason jar. The curry was sweet and flavorful with a generous helping of rice. Service was hit and miss which was odd because it wasn't even crowded. I think we were the only diners and we still had to ask for stuff and try to get the waiter's attention. Oh well. Overall, a fun dining experience with the Yelp ladies.

Sumran Thai Cuisine caters to a local crowd in a food-deprived area of town. It's a "safe" choice for customers who may be wary of more "authentic Asian restaurants." The servers here speak flawless English, the dining area borderlines modern, and they only serve white meat chicken. Wait, what? I ordered the Khao Soi (not on the menu) based on a picture I saw on Yelp. It came (disappointingly) with skinny egg noodles, but the author of the photos told me the wide flat ones could be requested. I opted for beef since they don't offer dark meat chicken. The soup was too sweet and all the lemon juice they gave me could not help it find balance. It also had no depth in flavor. A few flimsy pieces of beef were floating inside. The Grilled Beef Salad was topped with lean beef that tasted like top round. This cut is barely edible rare, let alone grilled well-done. I'm not a fan of tough, dry beef. The Duck Curry was a winner, coconut-milk-based yellow curry with roast duck slices and pineapple chunks. It's a shame the portion was so tiny. If you're here to eat family style, be ready to disown your family if you want to be full. Sumran Thai Cuisine has superb service and trendy touches like iced tea in a mason jar. It also abandoned authenticity in the process. This local joint may be a "safe" choice, but I can safely say it's the most boring Thai food I've ever experienced. OC offers far better options.

Came here with some fellow Yelpers before a nearby movie event. Part of the reason why we chose this place was we saw that they had a happy hour on their web site. Alas, when I asked about it I was informed that it was no longer in effect. Boo. The atmosphere is pleasant, with modern decor and soothing music. They have all the usual suspects on the menu so I decided on my usual go-to: yellow curry with tofu. It had good flavor with a bit of heat and I was enjoying it, but then I noticed that there were absolutely no potatoes in the curry. There's usually a few pieces of potato to be found in this kind of curry, and in their menu it's even described as having potato. Suki B, who also ordered the yellow curry, did not see any potatoes either. So when the waiter came around to ask how things were, I told him that there were no potatoes and could he possibly just give us a little bowl of it to add to our curry. He was very apologetic and even offered to give us new bowls of curry, but since we'd already eaten about a quarter of it I didn't think it was necessary and just asked for some potatoes to add. Whew, aside from Potatogate and the other server disappearing at times, we enjoyed our food--it's pretty solid, reasonably-priced Thai food for the area. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Pleasant atmosphere with good food, but service was a little hit-or-miss.

This is our go to Thai restaurant in the OC. Flavorful and good portions. We order from Sumran at least once a week - pork larb, pad thai, drunken noodles, garlic deep fried pork ribs (must try), pineapple fried rice and panang curry with extra veggies - delicious!

We were craving thai food and came here on a whim. We were really impressed with the dishes and everything that we ordered spicy packed a kick. We have been back twice now and the dishes are all great and service is friendly. My favorite was the pad see ew and the larb. The entrees all come with a side of rice which was enough to share between two people.

  • Tyler T.

The Thai food here is good, it's not the best I've had, but it's not that bad either. I would describe the food here as having lighter flavors than I am used to from a Thai place, but the method and style of cooking still taste top notch to me. My friends and I ordered the Jungle Curry, the Green Curry and the Pad Kee Mao. I actually did not like the Jungle Curry, but I don't think I'd have liked it if some other place cooked it either. It had a good spicy kick to it, but since it is made without Coconut milk, the overall flavor (not including the spiciness) felt a little bland and uninspired to me. The Green Curry was excellent, albeit it relied a bit on the sweetness too much. There was a good blend of flavor and taste, but at some points it did feel a bit too sweet for my palate. That being said, it was still very good, though I felt the amount of rice they gave was not enough for the amount of curry they provided. The Pad Kee Mao was excellent, although it also felt a little too sweet at points. The noodles were cooked very well though and the overall flavor of the dish was excellent, though of course not the best I've had. Overall a good Thai joint that I wouldn't mind going back to, but probably won't go out of my way to go to.

I love Thai food so if you do too, you can't go wrong with having a Meal here. Their portions are on the smaller side, but the flavors are right on. Love their friendly and clean atmosphere! No pressure and low key in a small plaza. Food tasted very fresh! I felt like they were not stingy on their ingredients. Beef panag curry was savory, sweet, and rich in coconut cream. I suggest getting their brown rice...it's delicious and not dry like other Thai restaurants. Papaya salad is delicious and I love how they do not use raw cabbage as a garnish/ filler. Pad Thai isn't too shabby either. The flavor is there but there was no WOW factor. They provided plates and forks as their place settings. Tip to the owners: I found it easier if small individual bowls, chopsticks and/or spoons were provided because a lot of your food (rice, noodles, and broths/soups) were hard to manage with the forks provided. The slots between your forks were very wide and hard to grab food with.

This restaurant deserves more than 5 stars! Everything about this place is A+. Everyone who works here is super friendly and gives excellent customer service, it's always clean and has the cutest modern decor, and the food is inexpensive but the quality is great. They have the best spring rolls and peanut dipping sauce I've tried in the area and I love the pad kee mao! (I hope I spelled that right, lol). I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants Thai food (:

Love the layout its very cute and modern, dim lighting. One awkward table under the spotlight in the middle and that's where we were seated. Lol We ordered: Pad Thai with Shrimp and Beef- A bit bland, had to ask for the spice seasonings, more nuts, bean sprouts and lime juice. Then it was better. The beef was a bit chewy and hard. Shrimp was cooked well Boat Noodle- The presentation of it was very nice. The flavor was delicious however once again the beef was too chewy and hard. It felt like they precooked their meat and when they put it in the hot broth it cooks even more and makes it not tender anymore. Thai Tea- It came in a mason jar, very cute and hipster. It wasn't too sweet so it was good. Mango sticky rice- out of season :*( Cant blame them for this though Nice place to try. Good service. Fast and efficent.

I've never really had an idea on what Thai food really was until some of my friends out for lunch here at Sumran. Since then I've been able to try quite a few and can still confidently say that this is my favorite. As soon as you walk in expect all the staff to greet you warmly and offer you a table in SECONDS. Most of their tables seat 4 with exception to a few set aside for larger parties. Tables are neat and clear of any debris every time I've gone. Service was insanely fast, it almost made me skeptical... that went away as soon as I tasted their dishes because they all have so much flavor. Some of my favorites here are the Duck Curry, Beef Pan Ang, Roasted Thai Chicken, Tom Yum( shrimp). All their curry and soup dishes come with a side of rice. Ask for a spice rack if you're like me and want a little extra kick in your meal. Tom Yum comfortably feeds 4 and comes with either shrimp or chicken. Good flavor, not too salty, and filling. Beef pan ang on the other hand is topped with a delicious sauce that goes great with any entree. Try it yourself and enjoy!

The service was great and they did a great job of preparing the takeout for the trip to my home kitchen... the problem: the food was very mediocre. I am a pretty experienced Thai food lover and I know good Thai food when i get it and though they were really, really nice folks, this was not particularly good Thai food by any stretch. I was really, really disappointed. My hopes were very high. I ordered Green Curry, Papaya salad, and Spicy Eggplant delight. The Green Curry was a real let down - just passable, and the Eggplant dish was down right embarrassingly bad -- the eggplant was barely cooked, wasn't spicy, and generally terrible - ridiculous, and the papaya salad was just barely OK. Too bad. Sad. Get a better cook -- that's my advice.

Dude. If you are into Thai food, this place is the shit!! May I recommend papaya with shrimp? Duck curry is damn good. I have tried a variety of other dishes and they are great. They are never too busy and I hope they stay this way bc I hate waiting for food : )

This is my go to thai place whenever I am in the mood for thai food. Their service is really quick and the food comes out fast even if they are busy. They are very attentive . I ordered the pad see yew and it was delicious. There wasn't too much grease like some other places I have been to. I also had the panang curry which was a little sweeter than usual. It still tasted pretty good though. I love how they put their thai tea in mason jars. This place has a very friendly and cozy atmosphere.

Came here on a Thursday for lunch, place was packed! Had a good lunch menu with $7 specials (see picture). I had the Thai iced tea, yellow chicken curry and soup of the day. My friend had Thai iced coffee and a spicy glass noodle salad. We ended with the fried bananas and a gelato truffle. Everything tasted great! Food portions were perfect, everything tasted fresh and was presented well. Our bill came out to $37 for the two which included our drinks entrees and two desserts. Definitely coming back to try more of the menu!

I love Thai food and this is the best I have had!!! My "go to"s are the Chicken Panang Curry (I get max spicy) and the sauce is always perfect and not too watery with the beef satay. Seriously, this place is the bomb!!! It's not the cheapest but I am willing to pay a little more for the quality.

Started with the spring rolls, they were not the best ever but they were pretty good. Followed with the pad Thai, the basil chicken dish and the cashew shrimp and they were all delicious! The basil dish was suggested by our waitress and ended up being my favorite!

3.5 Stars Located in an older plaza. The restaurant however, has a sleek look and modern touch. We were greeted almost immediately once through the doors and were seated within 2 minutes. Good amount of customers too. Beverages came out pretty fast. The food took a bit long but it came out all at once. *Crispy Fried Trout w/ Apple Sauce Fish was nicely filleted and deboned. Lightly battered and deep fried. Taste like what it is. Deep fries fish... The "ahhhh" part was the Apple Sauce Salad that goes with it. Great flavors & texture. Quite delicious. Great alternative over your typical papaya or mango salad. *Crying Tiger Always too well done everywhere I go. I asked for rare, it came out medium. Flavor was decent. Meat however, was a tad tough. Would prefer more rice powder in this dish. *Beef Panang Good flavor curry. Very Rich. Great with white rice. Had leftovers so the waitress packed it up for us in the kitchen. Nice! Average joints would just give you a box and bag to do it yourself. Final thought... Decent food and good atmosphere. Clean and friendly staff. Would come back.

We were looking for a place to eat before heading over to watch Jurassic World with the Yelp event. My sister had heard about this place from a yelp friend of hers and wanted us to try it out. We headed in a little bit early before the dinner rush. Turning into the parking lot from one of the streets was a little weird; just because the turning outlet was at a weird angle in that if you turned right into it, you might end up hitting a car if it was the first car parked in the first parking stall but if you turned left into the place, it was okay. Once you walk into the restaurant, it is very nice. The setting was very modern and the ambiance gave a hipster feel to it. (Their Thai Ice Tea comes in a mason jar! - How cool is that!) There weren't a lot of tables filled yet as we were probably super early but I did notice that a lot of people came in for take out. Menu was pretty straightforward. I ordered the Beef Pad Thai and the portion control was really good. The noodles were seasoned and cooked perfectly. I even ate all of the beansprouts which is a feat for me, and anyone who knows me, will say that too since I don't like to eat vegetables of any kind. Lol. The beansprouts were cooked and mixed in with the noodles so well that I don't even remembered eating them until after I finished the dish. My brother-in-law had the Kang Karee (Yellow Curry) and he liked it. The potatoes in it were cooked right. It didn't break apart if you had stabbed it with a fork. I have to admit the white rice that came with the curry wasn't up to my standards but it was good if you had put it in the curry to soften the texture of it. Overall, I think Sumran Thai Cuisine is a good place to come hang out with friends. It's trendy and the wait staff were pretty friendly and attentive.

Happy hr 3-6 pm. $2 off appetizers. $4 wine $15 bottle $2 beer I found this restaurant next to the movie theater and figured to try this place with my friends. I should've looked on Google Street View because my GPS was acting up and told me to do U-turns. The restaurant is located in a strip mall with various stores. I believe the sign says Thai Food so keep an eye out! The waiter was very courteous and had given my friend water while she waited for us to arrive. The place is nicely decorated and doesn't look cheesy or fobby. Modern and simple. We didn't wait very long for our appetizers to come. The calamari and shrimp were great. I'm not too much of a fan of the spring rolls but they were okay. We all ordered various dishes and shared family style. I'm glad they provided rice for your meal because some Thai places charge you extra. My friend got a Red Curry Duck dish, my other friend got Chicken Pad Gai and I ordered the Lychee Fried Rice. All the dishes were really good. I loved the Lychee Fried Rice. I was scared it was going to be too sweet for such a savory dish but the combination was delicious! The waiter was quick to fill our glasses with water and asked us if we needed any more food. Will come back for more!

I came in for an early dinner with a coworker, and it was not busy at the time. The restaurant was very spacious, clean, and updated. The servers were also friendly and attentive. I ordered the pad thai with chicken and green curry with beef (which our server recommended) along with a sweetened mango green tea that she also recommended. The mango green tea was delicious! It was refreshing, didn't have too strong of a tea taste to it and was not too sweet either. The Pad Thai was average, not the best; however, I did enjoy the green curry! Would recommend ordering that. If only you could make it spicier though. I'll probably be back to try other items.

We came to Sumran before the movies last night, and I have to say I was pretty underwhelmed. We planned to arrive a full hour before the movie, but it seems we didn't need that long at all. Within 5 minutes of ordering, our food was out. That's great if you're at a drive-thru, but it made me question the freshness of the dishes. My pad Thai was pretty lackluster, and the chicken was just eh. The green curry was better, but I think the sauciness just helped cover the bland ingredients. I was really excited to try this place, but I left disappointed.

never disappoints. been here a good number of times and i always ask for either some sorta curry, or the khao soi. the khao soi feels like something that takes getting used to for most? every time i come here i request they make the food as spicy as they can, and i always leave a teary-eyed mess. it's spicy, but i'm still able to taste the full flavor of the food which i really appreciate; the service is on and off depending on who you get and the time of day, but overall i'm pretty satisfied regardless (the food makes up for a lot). i make it a point to come here whenever i can.

I live very close to Sumran and I go here quite a few times dating back to when it was Chaiyo. Aside from that, everything else is average or a little above. I probably would not go here if it wasn't so close to where live. The Good - Nice ambiance, clean, and friendly staff. Chicken yellow curry is as good as I've eaten anywhere. The Bad - The portions are way too small. Rice is served individually which isn't good if you want to eat family style. The pad thai is a little dry to me though I admit I like mine a bit sweeter and less dry. The fried rice is very pedestrian. When I'm really hungry or picky, I would go to a different thai restaurant. However, if I want a cleanliness and service, I'd go here.

  • Rachel S.

My siblings and I love coming here. The service is always excellent! They are very attentive and helpful. I am absolutely obsessed with the yellow curry. I normally don't even like curry and am very picky with it but Sumran gets it right every time I go. Their pad see ew is also very tasty and the sauce isn't watered down like at some other places. I will be bringing more of my friends here for sure!

Sumran Thai Cuisine has been on of my favorite restaurants to dine while on my business trip in Seal Beach. I agree with other diners that this place is above and beyond my expectations. Don't be deceived by the exterior. The dinning experience was excellent! I ordered fresh spring satay rolls and spicy basil chicken on their lunch menu. It was very very delicious! Service is great and very friendly! One of my top thai restaurants!

Hands down, best Thai restaurant in Westminster. I haven't tried anything from here that I have not enjoyed. I've been coming here for over a year now for my Thai fix. You can literally order anything on the menu and you can't go wrong. Really friendly staff who has no problem accommodating to any needs you may have. Nice setting in the restaurant and a really clean feel. I would recommend some dishes to try, but there would be too many to list, so just order the whole menu!

They informed me they are under new management True or not, I was disappointed in my food for delivery. We ordered a shrimp pad thai, a Sumran pork short rib, and beef fried rice. Each portion was very small. The shrimp pad thai was okay. It lacked flavor. The pork short rib was probably our favorite thing out of the three, still it was over fried. The beef fried rice was my least favorite. It was boring and wasn't anything special. I think our total was $45 or $50 for the small portions and was definitely was not worth it. We were disappointed. Our delivery took 45 minutes.

This restaurant has changed ownership a few times now and pleasantly surprised w the current outcome. Nice clean and modern interior. Nice date spot as it has "romantic" lighting. Dishes are flavorful and good sized portions. My favorite dishes from here include Green curry w chicken and fried fish w apple flavored sauce. Great for take out as well :)

Best Thai restaurant I've ever been to to be honest. I phone called for pick up & they told me that they'd be done within 10 minutes. Surely, they didn't lie because i came literally in 10 minutes...and they were already done! Once I walked in, they immediately greeted me and reached out for my order. The outside of their restaurant is sorta dark, so I was a bit afraid of trying this place out, but the inside is just, just so wow. I fell in love with their decor the second I stepped in because it definitely sets the tone of everything. I ordered their chicken pad thai for a pretty decent price ($9.67) and I think I got my money's worth. Definitely coming back and recommending you guys to my friends.

This is the first time I've been here and I am not really impressed. I tried the lychee-tini, coconut soup, sutan fresh rolls and the yellow curry with brown rice. Everything was really good. They claimed the coconut soup was a little spicy but I didn't think so at all. The good: somewhat flavorful food and a nice, modern looking restaurant. The lychee-tini was $8 but it was pretty strong. The bad: the bar area is an eyesore and the restaurant is really quite small for the amount of people who come in for dinner. The yellow curry also just tastes like they mixed ketchup and mustard together for the sauce. It was gross.

Our friends took us here for dinner. Located in a crummy plaza, this place makes it a lil ol gem. I always order papaya salad and when I asked them to make it spicy, they made it spicy. Unlike some places where they are afraid to spice it up when asked! We also ordered the pad thai chicken. This is a good dish to order if you are trying thai food for the first time. It hard for places to mess it up....but when they do, they mess it up. Luckily the pad thai was perfect here. We also ordered green curry, but for some reason, it came out later than the rest. By the time it did come out, we were already slowing down and getting full from the other dishes we ordered. I wasn't in the mood for curry, but from the looks of it, my boyfriend did enjoy it. We will come back again whenever we are in area.

I ways love getting my Thai fix here. I've never at rinsing because it was always easier to order to go and pick up my food. It's the only place that's close but it's one of the better ones I've eaten. Food: Curry and pad thai is delicious. Problem: Place is dark at night inside. First timers: Get the vinegar and peppers.

I love this place. The servers are friendly and I've always been served promptly. Even take out orders are filled quickly. The food is delicious, portions are good, and prices are great. I love the amount of mushrooms they put in their tom yum soup, while they don't overload it with large and hard chunks of lemongrass like other local restaurants.

Bleh. I went to this Thai restaurant before they had revamped it or changed owners. Before the revamp, the service wasn't too bad, the food was excellent, and portions were worth the price. I can see where parts of the places needed to be updated, but it wasn't too big of a deal. However, I'm not too big of a fan of the remodeled restaurant. Service is excellent, don't get me wrong, but it's not really Thai food any more. It's just catering to the American taste buds. Flavor isn't very authentic any more, and portions are tiny, as if they're trying to serve this to an upper-class clientele. To be truthful, you can probably come here Monday through Friday during lunch, and all you will see will be businessman or people on their lunch breaks from work, but they're a bit more middle- to high-class clientele. I really miss the original, authentic, class Thai flavors. I do think the updated restaurant is beautiful, and they definitely did a number with the service. But the food isn't worth the visit. Paid $7 for a bowl of soup that was as big as a fistful...ugh. They only accept credit cards if the check is $10 or above. Also, 40% of the time that the bf or myself has gone here, the place is closed. Yes, they are open every day, but we came in on a Tuesday afternoon, Friday evening, Thursday evening, and a Thursday afternoon, and the doors were locked and lights were off. We checked the hours each time, and they were supposed to be open when we visited. Probably won't come back. Not worth the time, effort, and money.

Always looking for good Thai and this is a great find! Ambiance is cozy that straddles modern but not quite there. Still on the nicer end for the prices. Portions are very generous! Both the Pad Thai and Duck Curry we ordered came in a huge portion- perfect for leftovers. Pad thai was average, but curry was very good. Dessert was a roti/condense milk- it was ok. Service was on the slower end and when I arrived there was a 10 min wait even though there were clearly open tables. Overall- affordable, tasty and generous portions. Will definitely be back :)

I'd like to give this place a 5 for their service because they were great. Unfortunately we ordered the pad ka pow which I was super excited to see on their menu but the pieces of meat were rubbery and hard to chew. They made another one with chicken when we told them we couldn't eat it as is (I rarely ever send anything back so it had to be bad) but I think I just lost my appetite at that point. The drunken noodles were decent though.

  • Amanda R.

I've only gotten delivery ( which is awesome they do) and have always had a good experience with them. Takes a little long to get the food but it's well worth it. Never had a bad dish there and I'm super picky about food. I'm from the south and never had the opportunity growing up to go outside my culture and try new foods until I moved to California. I've never had any desire to try Thai food. Thanks to my persistent husband we tried this place and now it's our go to for Thai. We try to get a new dish every time but it's hard because we really love the beef jerky, ribs, pat si u? No clue, and the yellow curry and dessert rice with mango. You really can't go wrong with this place.

Delicious food! We have dined in once and had take out twice. We live within a block of this restaurant. It's a Hidden gem. I didn't expect such a nice restaurant on the inside! Everything is really clean and the staff is very nice. When ordering take out, go directly through them, not through the "eat24" app. Going directly through the restaurant will make it go much faster for delivery. The staff is amazingly friendly as well! I look forward to our Thai food nights whether we eat out or eat at home.

We came here for dinner before a movie at the Regency theater nearby. The decor is very pretty and relaxed, and the servers are attentive. The food is good, but not the most awesome Thai food I've ever had. You have the option to sub tofu or veggies for meat in the entrees. There appeared to be two vegetarian appetizer options, the spring rolls and the crispy mushrooms. I had the yellow curry with tofu, which was good, but the potatoes in it were very bland. I've had better potatoes in my curry at other Thai restaurants. They were generous with the tofu, but not so much with the veggies. I would have liked my curry to have had a few more peppers and onions. My husband had the beef pad gar-tiam and the mango green iced tea, which he enjoyed. White rice comes with the entrees, or you can substitute brown rice for $1 more. Parking was a little difficult since it's in a busy shopping center. I would probably eat here again if I happened to be in the area, but I wouldn't make a special trip to come here.

One of the best Thai restaurants I have been to since Thailand. The food and the dessert was great. We tried the Shrimp and Asparagus, Red curry with tofu, Pad see ew (yumm), the mango sticky rice was delicious and the sample appetizer platter. The food was fresh and each dish had its own very distinct flavor. I highly recommend this place. Found it on Yelp and I would have never tried it if it wasn't for all the reviews I read about this place. The service was also amazing, they were very attentive. Keep up the good work.

I feel like I might be betraying some of my other usual Thai haunts when saying this, but I think Sumran is the best thai food I've ever had. There is nothing I don't love about this place. Everyone I've ever brought here is equally impressed. Their panang curry (my go-to dish) is so amazingly sweet, it's awesome. This isn't a knock on other places who choose to emphasize the earthy flavors, but I am in love with the flavors brought out by Sumran's take. I've also had the pad see ew, and the pad thai, which are both excellent as well (although not as stellar as the panang). Honorable mention goes out to their thai tea, which is also extremely sweet (in a good way), and never disappoints.

This place is delicious. I haven't had a bad dish yet. During the week they have a great deal for lunch. For $7 you chose between a handful of dishes and it comes with soup or salad. They have daily specials, and it's always a bunch of different things. Their main entrees are great too. I like everything with chicken, but I recommend the Pad Tai or the Lychee fried rice. Huge portions. Great price. Nice staff and they deliver, but it's better to dine in.

  • Amy L.

The staff was friendly and the atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. This would be a cute little hidden date spot (except it's also in a shopping plaza with odd stores, so maybe not a first date place). Food presentation was cool, modern plates, and they serve their drinks in mason jars! Food flavor and taste was okay; not the greatest Thai restaurant, but decent flavors. Everything was good, but not that wow factor, Price and quantity/portions were also fair. The menu also had a lot of different selections too. Mango Iced Green Tea - really delicious drink Chicken Sumran Tom Yum Goong Soup - good soup Beef Pad See Ew - good dish, but nothing of a wow factor Chicken Pad Thai - good Beef Panang Curry - best entree that we ordered. Really yummy Beef Kao Pad Supparod Rice - basically pineapple fried rice, good.

Really yummy neighborhood thai spot that delivers within usually about 20 min. and offers brown rice. This is one of our go to take out places when we have date night in. My absolute favorite dishes here are the yellow curry with chicken or panang curry with beef, and my boyfriend always orders the spicy drunken noodle.....all very tasty! I added the extra star due to the fast delivery time!! Would give a 4.5 if it would let me.... point and a half deducted for the lack of spiciness when you ask for it to be extra spicy and their Tom Yum soup wasn't that great.

My boyfriend and I are avid thai food enthusiasts. If we were stranded on an island and could only choose one type of cuisine to eat for the rest of our lives we would choose thai. Having said that, it was only acceptable to check out this thai food place after grocery shopping nearby. At first glance, this place is hidden between a donut shop and a hookah store in a strip mall. However, the humble outer appearance is a stark contrast to the sleek, clean, modern interior that greeted us when we first walked in. My boyfriend ordered the tom yum fried rice and I ordered the pad sew ew. Both dishes came out in a timely manner and the food was delicious. I was surprised at how much I liked the fried rice: the light bursts of lime flavor added the perfect amount of acidity. The warm relaxing ambience, the wonderful service, and the delicious food made for a wonderful experience. We hope to be back soon!

My favorite new Thai place! Always friendly and they have great service! Try their spicy beef salad and their green chicken curry. I wish the spicy beef salad was a little spicier, but that's only because I have a higher tolerance for spicy food. MUST TRY!

Have tried many of the Thai restaurants in the area and this one hit the spot. The pad thai and green curry were both excellent but the pad see ew was the winner for me. Full of flavor and delicious. This will be my new go to for Thai food. Only downfall is that I am half a mile out of there delivery area :(

  • Magnus C.

Although the restaurant is located in a dilapidated strip mall don't let that cloud your judgment. The restaurant is clean, the staff friendly and useful, and the food excellent. I have nothing but the best things to say about their Kang Ka Ree. As an added bonus, if you ask them to pretend you're not white (in case you are) they will adequately spice up your food. Highly recommended restaurant. Added bonus - while you're waiting for your food, mosey on over to the corner of the strip mall and watch a bunch of grown ups have a serious go at ping pong!

Nice little surprise! Don't judge this place from the parking lot. It's nicer inside, the food was great, and the service nice. We ordered pad-see-ew beef (very good) and pad-Thai chicken (good). The sodas are pricy for a small jar cup.

So disappointed with this place. I love Thai food but this is not up to par with authentic thai flavors. They cater to the "Caucasian's" palate. Pad Thai is too bland. Drunken Noodle is not even spicy and hardly any veggies in this dish. I could go on... Everything else on the menu is either too salty or too sweet. Only thing decent is Thai Iced Tea.

This is my go to spot for Thai food in OC. It's pretty much the most delicious, cleanest, and friendliest staff having place around. The food isn't expensive and it's damn good. I have yet to be disappointed. I'll eat here over and over. Even the atmosphere is nice, they actually took the time to make the inside look nice. Def check this place out if you're looking for good Thai food in OC.

First time here. Menu looks great. The real test coming soon. Update - I don't really know authentic Thai food but, I was impressed. Quality, freshness, taste were spot on. The Pok Pok (papaya) salad was sweet and spicy (remind you of anyone?) and very delicious. Actually, everyone was pleased with the dishes they ordered. I'd go back.

This is all time my favorite Thai restaurant because it's very close to where I live. I order the same thing every time I go, Pad Thai , pad si ew and papaya salad. This is an amazing place, decor is simple but very nice. It's a rare place that would be perfect for both a family dinner or even something intimate with friends or a significant other. The best part was the server, they are amazing friendly and attentive. Will add to my review as I try the menu more. But great place so far, and they have delivery too. So stop reading, and just go. The best Thai restaurant in the area. No doubt.

I have been sick all night after eating their food. Price $28 for 3 dishes ( soup, glass noodles, fried rice); small portions; extremely greasy; meat seemed boiled with no flavor (pork, chicken) shrimp ok good size. Not fresh at all. Be very careful about eating here.

Sunday night dinner....a delight! Absolutely loved this place! We came after we purchased a Groupon. Our servers were very nice and explained very well what the differences were with the items we were considering for dinner. My hubby had the yellow curry, medium spicy and it was DELISH! A little spicier than the average "medium" heat, but he was soo happy because it was sooo tasty! The added spice was a special treat. He always orders yellow curry and he said this was one of the best he's had. There was PLENTY of food and it also came with a side of rice. I ordered the Pad Thai and it was YUMMY as well. A little sweeter than I had hoped, but yummy nonetheless. :) We also ordered a coconut water that was refreshing and tasty. The decor is delightful, the place is very clean and everyone was so friendly. We can't wait to come back, a gem indeed!

Friendly service, great tasting Pad Thai. Price wasn't bad seeing as the serving for me was big enough for (2) portions, yay leftovers!! They have a happy hour from 3-6p, wouldn't mind stopping in for that and sampling some of their appetizers which sounded delicious. The sweet chili sauce was the best, not too spicy, not too sweet. Only complaint, I got a shrimp dish and the tails were still on- I hate working for my food, especially when it's a dish that's all mixed together, but otherwise really good.

This is my favorite Thai place in OC. -Great food, you can see and taste your ingrdients, no msg crap. Every menu item is delicous here. I have a hard time choosing because everything is just so good. I'm guilty of coming here at least once a week because I've been trying to try every item. -Great service, a bit slow because the food actually takes time. Great things take time -Environment, this Is the cleanest thai place I've been to. It's very comfortable and modern.

After a long journey of finding a good thai place aince moving here... this is an absolute favorite! The waitor does warn u that it takes a little longer bc everything is made fresh BUT do not mind this what so ever. Food is crisp , crunchy everything ud expect made fresh rather than sitting there premade. Delicious delicious delicious. Excellent service as well and very clean inside . Great experience in all categories.

This place is pretty modern in terms of decor and plates/dishes. It's a very clean place, which is much appreciated. My cousin ordered the Picky Samplers appetizer that had a combination of Po-Pia, Chicken Satay, Sumran Shrimp and Calamari. I loved how the server explained what each sauce was and what was most popular for dipping the appetizers in. We also ordered a bowl of Tom Khar (Spicy Coconut Soup), Chicken Pad Thai, Beef Pad Ka Pow, and Sumran Pok Pok (Papaya Salad). Everything came out in a timely manner. The service is awesome here! Everyone is very attentive and thoughtful. The food is great! I'm picky about pad thai and wished it was a bit sweeter. The Beef Pad Ka Pow is great, but salty, so make sure to eat it with rice or something that will balance out the saltiness. The Thai Tea comes in a mason jar and is okay. The bill was very reasonable for a party of 4 plus a toddler. Overall, I'd definitely come back!

This used to be another Thai restaurant that my family and I frequented. So, we decided to give this new place a try. The decor was modern chic and the place was very clean. Although the decor was nice, the food was a disappointment. Entrees: Tom yum soup: sour but needed more lemongrass flavor to it Pad Thai: very bland; mostly noodles with very little anything else. I was expecting more from this dish since it was one of their must try items. It basically tasted like just fried noodles. Garlic pepper beef: prob the best dish that we had. Lots of garlic but not enough pepper. The beef was tender but it wasn't anything special that you couldn't make at home. Jungle curry: this was the restaurant's spin on healthy curry because it is made with no coconut milk, just curry powder. Couldn't taste the curry at all. The dish tasted like stewed vegetables with very little salt. Service was good, but food was just lackluster.

I don't know what is happened at this place but it has gone downhill since the last time I ate there. We ordered takeout last night and it had to be the worst I've ever had. It seemed like they gave us all the leftover and old food that they were just trying to get rid of. The pad Thai had no flavor the barbecue chicken was dry the pork ribs were super dry and tasteless. I had been raving to my sister about how great this place was and felt embarrassed after eating their food with her. Disappointed, extremely disappointed.

Only have gotten their stuff to-go so I can't make a complete review until I actually dine in. But for their to-go stuff, it is good. Quite a different twist on their style of Thai food. We got the chicken pad see ew and tofu yellow curry with rice. Their flavor profile leans a little bit on the sweeter side, which was a surprise. Overall, I do like it but it does have a different profile than the usual Thai food I'm used to. I'll have to flesh out this review after I've dined-in their restaurant.

This review is based solely on their online takeout ordering. I ordered online through Yelp and my order was ready in 15 minutes. I walked into the restaurant and the cashier had my food in the brown paper bag ready for me. All I had to do was show the cashier my credit card that I ordered with and I was off with the food. My meal came out to $35 for a dinner for two. Now for the food review....YES!!! I've eaten at numerous Thai places in OC, and I must say this one definitely takes the prize as the best one. I picked up chicken pad thai, crispy vegetable rolls, chicken red curry and chicken green curry. I mean the food was so good, between two of us, we were just trying one thing and zipping around our plates to try the next as soon as the bite was down our throats. The red curry was phenomenal. I don't say the word phenomenal when describing food that often, but it definitely deserved this adjective, liberally might I add. Green curry was delicious but not as good as the red one. The pad thai was on par with the rest of the meal. It tasted like something I stole from someone's house in Bangkok. I really wanted more pad thai since most places give you a bit more, but it was as authentic as it gets and that's all I could ask for really. The spices and herbs in all of the dishes were pin point in balance and flavor. It's been 4 days since I ate this meal and all I can think about since is ordering from Sumran again. I feel like this place has a secret that the rest of OC is missing out on. I usually don't write Yelp reviews unless a place deserves my time. This place deserves my time. Sumran, thank you for providing my tongue with the Thailand culinary vacation it has craved for quite some time

Place is located in a ugly strip mall. You would think it was a dive but you're be wrong. Was greated right away and sat at a good table with in 5 mins. Friendly service, they know he menu well. I had the yellow curry and pad Thai. Both were excellent . the price was awesome.

I usually order food from here to go. Nothing against dining in, it's just usually more convenient for me. The waiters and owners always seemed nice when I come by to pick up my food, and offer tea or water while I wait for it to be ready. My favorite dishes here are the curries.

One of the few yummy Thai restaurants around. There are so many sorry Thai food places in Orange County, luckily this one popped up to help make up for that. The decor inside has a nice modern look. Pad Thai here is actually cooked right - delicious - where as most places has dissapointed. I got the beef one and the meat was whatever, but the noodles and everything else with the selection of their maximum hotness level was adequately spicy while still being flavorful. Golden Needles are fried shrooms that taste nice with a light dip of their sweet and sour sauce. The Roti is like little greasy fried flat bread. Thai Iced Tea is of a good standard.

This place is seriously great. Exterior will fool you. It's located in a tiny market strip. The interior is clean and updated. I got the yellow curry (lunch menu $6.95) and mango iced green tea ($2.95). For dessert we had the fried banana with coconut lychee ice cream (unsure of the price - maybe $3/4). I love yellow curry when it's made right and this place makes it right! The mango iced green tea is great if you like sweet teas, like I do. My mom got the pork with ginger, but since she is a vegan she asked if they could make it without pork ($6.95) and a chrysanthemum green tea ($2.95). My mom loved her meal because it was mostly green veggies and spicy ginger. Her drink has a subtle sweetness and was more on the tea side of flavor. The fried banana I got came with ice cream, and since my mom is vegan we asked for their coconut ice cream because it did not have any dairy. Their coconut ice cream has green tapioca balls in it and sweet corn. This may sound strange, but it made it different in a good way. Straight coconut ice cream can start to taste like ice after a while, so the sweet corn kept the sweetness going. This place makes everything fresh to order, even the soups! So there is no big pot that they precook. Everything looks and tastes fresh! So good. Super cheap; super fresh; super good!

I am glad that I tried the new restaurant under a new ownership. they did a marvelous job on the remodeling, what an ambience! it was beautiful and clean. The service is excellent, the dishes that I had was delicious. I am coming back and can't wait to try the other dishes on the menu.

Been going here for a while now. I love it, husband loves it, and kids love it too! We've had pad thai, different stir fry noodles, fried rice, soups, different currys, drinks, desserts, appetizers and they are all delicious! Everytime we go, we just switch it up. They make everything to order so whatever ingredient u don't like, u can ask them to take out or u Can ask to add stuff or extras of whatever. My kids like the shrimp cut up in the rice instead of whole and they will do that for u too. Great service. Always friendly, happy, and the restaurant is clean. :)

I have only ordered takeout here. The servers there are really nice. They gave me a seat, the menu, and a glass of water. They make it seem like I am dining there and I question if I should tip them for their hospitality. Anyways, I usually order their pad thai and the spicy clams (?) that isn't on the menu. If the clam isn't on the special list for the day, you can still ask them if it's available. Enjoy!

AMAZING! Best papaya salad I've ever had! We ordered papaya salad, pad se ew, & pad thai. All made with fresh ingredients! Every dish was flavorful. This is hands down the BEST thai restaurant! The girl that took my order over the phone was super helpful & friendly. Everything is PERFECT about this place! Can't wait to go back when I'm in the area. Thanks, Samrun!

Four PM on a Sunday and we were the only table seated. Waitstaff was courteous and mostly attentive (Broncos v Cowboys on TV) and the food was quite good! The chicken larb was tasty, but I would have preferred a few more cabbage leaves to scoop it up with, but I was the only one at the table using them, so it worked out. I usually prefer my panang on the spicy side, which this was not, but it had a hint of heat, the flavors were well developed and the sauce was not skimpy with the coconut cream. The pad ki mao noodles were well seasoned, but they were a tad stuck together... comparing them less favorably to Torung or Sanamluoung (sp?) and the beef was a bit tough, but really these are nit-picky things to complain about. The iced coffee's served in a mini mason jar and was delicious. Reasonable prices... we'll bookmark this one for next time!

The food here is amazing! It's a bit pricey but well worth it. My favorite is the nan dessert and just about everything is good. I've never had anything bad here. Also it's a bit pricier than other Thai restaurants but well worth hit for the service, cleanliness and quality of the food.

Tom yum and pad thai was too sweet. Also, the dark lighting in the restaurant makes it very difficult to see the menu.

I have been here a few times and I love the food along with the environment!! I love their Pad Thai and their Tom Yum! I recommend this place to anyone who's looking for great on the go Thai food!

Love this place! I have tried the tom yum soup and tom yum fried rice, the shrimp pad thai and the dessert roti. All of which are mouthwatering! Try their thai iced tea also and don't be afraid of asking for their suggestions. They suggested the tom yum fried rice and im glad they did because now I order it almost every time I come by;)

Pleasant atmosphere but the table edges are very sharp and I scratched my leg while sitting down. Nice ambiance, quiet and tastefully understated. Perhaps it needed more plants? Otherwise lovely grey and wood without the obvious LOOK AT US WE ARE THAI decor on the walls. The food was fantastic and the service was professional. My only star off is for such a long wait to get anything.

we are thrilled to have found Sumran. We have been there 4 times and tonight we are ordering take-out. A jewel in an odd in-line mall. Two nearby stores have table tennis, who knew there was such a craze. Pad Thai with shrimp and Yellow Curry with chicken - we are stuck on these favorites.

Went for lunch today. We have been looking for a good Thai restaurant near work since our favorite place closed. Much more upscale inside than we were expecting. It's located in a very generic strip mall but once you enter, very modern and slick. Service was very good. Food very good but lacking a bit of the heat we look for in Thai food. We will be back, but will ask them to kick up the heat.

This place used to be under the management name Chai-Yo. One of my favourite Thai food places. When I heard they have shut down, I was kind of sad. I decided to check out the new place, Sumran with my girlfriend. We walked inside and the decor was really cute and clean. She ordered the Picky Samplers; which came with Po-Pia, Chicken Satay, Sumran shrimp and Calamari. We also ordered Tom-Yum soup Hot Pot. The sampler was pretty decent with a lot of free dipping sauces. The Tom-Yum was okay. It came with a lot of mushrooms. Overall, I will be back again to try their other items.

Okay, hubby and I can finally stop ho'n around at all of the Thai restaurants, we are ready to settled down! This place is legit! EK, the owner, is a really friendly helpful guy who takes the time to get to know his customers and make recommendations based on your taste. My personal favorite is the Pad woon sen (did I spell that right?) and hub's is the pork larb. mm mmm MMM!! The remodel looks great, food is awesome, good drink selections. We'll be coming often!

This is a new modern restaurant. The service and food were quite good. My only complaints are that the soup came out slightly above room temperatur and that the restaurant had no heating on a cold and rainy day. Because it was cold in the restaurant the food cooled off too soon. I had a yellow cury dish which was very good and the soup was very good but the temperature was detracting. More items need to be added to the lunch menu. I will be back to try other dishes but they need to get the heat fixed/turned on.

I absolutely LOVE this place. I am now a regular there as well as a regular delivery orderer! The service is very personal and friendly. The food is incredible. I order the fresh satay rolls every time and am addicted! They now have happy hour from 3:00 - 5:00 ... woohoo!!!

My fiance and I came here last fri night for a late dinner and this is our new favorite thai restaurant. It is a hidden gem. From the outside you would never know this place was so good. Decor is very chic and sexy at least for a strip mall restaurant. Service was amazing. Food was amazing too. We got tom yum soup with shrimp I can't remember the exact name but it was the one on the menu they said was a must try. It was the best I have ever had, really! Pad see ew with beef was delicious, light and delicate not greasy at all like at alot of other thai places. We ordered a beef waterfall salad which was not on the menu but they made special for us, it was excellent. We also ordered the ribeye steak ( I forgot what they called it) but that was the best and the dressing/sauce it came with was fantastic. We will definitely be frequent visitors. I cannot say enough about how great this restaurant is.

My wife and I love this place!! We own a pizza place around the corner and they've become our goto place. The owners are family and treatment here is beyond superb. I can't leave without an order of ribs and my wife freaks out for their curry chicken. Thanks Sumran you're awesome.

Absolutely the BEST Thai Food around! The service is incredible. EK is the main man, and he actually takes the time to treat you like family. The steak is quality meat, and the restaurant's overall aroma is that of a clean, high class, superb quality restaurant. They will even customize your order for those of you that are picky eaters (like my wife). Do not let the area fool you, this is definitely a diamond in the ruff! Once you enter, you transcend into an entirely different place. Personally I recommend the Pad See Ew and the Panang Curry! Incredible taste!

I have only been here twice but tried 4 different dishes along with soup and the Roti dessert. Everything has been amazing! The best Thai food have eaten in quite a while. I have several friends that live in Thailand and cook for me when they come to visit. Sumran has some of the most fresh and flavorful dishes you can find. Everyone that works there is super friendly and helpful. They offered to make something special or change something about a dish if you like, so they are very accommodating. I highly recommend going and giving this place a try....and then going back again.

This is some of the best Thai I've ever had, and I've been to countless places. I've been there 3 times since this place has been under new ownership (used to be Chaiyo) and everything I've ordered was excellent. Their angle is that everything is made fresh to order so if you are a vegetarian or have food allergies they can make it without, unlike most of Thai places (ie : fish sauce in the curry). The food is very flavorful, authentic, and the service is great. Everyone who works there is very friendly and attentive. Prices are good and the atmosphere is great as well. I'm definitely going to keep coming back. I honestly can't remember the last time I've had such great Thai food. Eat here, you can't go wrong and you will be addicted!

Ordered pad Thai and mango sticky rice to go. Pad Thai was bland just as a previous reviewer stated. I need my Thai food to have flavor! The mango was good but the sticky rice needed help. A little too mushy for me taste. I am disappointed and wish I'd never looked up the yelp reviews that recommended this place.

I solemnly swear that this is the best Thai restaurant I have ever eaten at so help me God. It's seriously that good. The saddest part is that so many will never find it because it's located in a dingy, ugly, sketchy small strip mall at Edwards and Westminster. Lock your car doors, look around and over your shoulder, then run safely inside. The place is totally remodeled and is very, very nice. It's a family run biz and the service is excellent. Now onto the most important part, the food. Wow is all I can say. They changed their menu and have some of the most interesting and creative "Thai" dishes I've ever seen. Tried the YF tuna tartar and it was fantastic. The pad thai was also very good. The place was so good that we tried to return with friends couple days later on a Tuesday but they were closed! I realize everyone needs a day off, but we need to eat, and you need to make $$! So stay open seven days a week. The funny things is, if you took this place exactly as it is and moved it into say.....South Coast Plaza, they could charge double and there would be an hour wait each and everyday. Trust me, give it a try, and if you don't love it go back to McDonald's because your pallet sucks!

The Tuna Tartar, curries and salads have all the delicate flavors and spice one hopes for in Thai cuisine. I've only ordered for delivery via Eat24hours.com but it arrives excellently packaged, piping hot and gorgeous. I get it medium hot, and it's not that hot that it reduces my ability to enjoy the nuances of flavor, so if you need added kick, you better go higher. I love this place.
