My new spot for Bun Bo Hue! I used to go to Ngu Binh for my Bun Bo Hue fix, but they changed owners and now it tastes bad because they're so cheap with their pork ingredients. The Bun Bo Hue here is delicious and reminded me of the Bun Bo Hue that Ngu Binh used to have! All the pork ingredients were plentiful! Oh BTW, order the large because it's only $0.50 more than the regular size.

This was the first restaurant that we visited after landing in OC. My in-laws are from Middle Vietnam (Hue) so we wanted them to have some of the signature dishes that are from Hue. Vy Da is famous for those dishes. Ordered a sampler plate, bun bo hue, and bun rieu oc. The sample plate was yummy! It consisted of banh beo, banh bot loc, and others that I forgot now. Bun bo hue was also very good. Bun rieu oc wasn't as good as I had hoped though, but again bun rieu oc is not from Hue so maybe that's why ...

Amazing bún bò Hue & bánh bèo! The staffs here are very friendly and I love being polite to them. They talked to me and made me feel so welcoming. They are funny, too. My daddy and I started going here to eat after his friend recommended this place to us. The atmosphere is warm and nice for family dinner/meal. It's not too loud and the music is very relaxing. The way they decorate the place is traditional Vietnamese style. Parking is somewhat difficult time to time but not too bad. If you're looking for a Vietnamese restaurant that specializes in Hue's food, this is a must try.

Had lunch here with my dad yesterday which he recommended. 1. Bun bo hue: light good broth, tender meat, fresh veggies 2. Banh beo: dozen in an order, great for sharing, big pork rinds yum! 3. Com ga Vy DA (to go): has become one of my fav! Aromatic flavorful rice, nice chunks of tender chicken, fish sauce with ginger, mmmmm; comes with a side of soup 4. I've been a loyal customer for years. It's much nicer and easier to eat here since it remodeled and expanded. The old restaurant was always crowded and wayyy cramped. Banh beo is a favorite and always ordered! They're closed on Mondays but this is the place for pretty-close to authentic Vietnamese food for cheap! Some recommendations are the com ga, banh canh, and bun bo hue.

Summary based on 1 dinner: --very good signature com ga (chicken rice) dish --cheap --great service (pay at counter) with no language barrier --easy weekday parking in adjoining strip mall lot --easy to find --no wifi I've been meaning to try this place, known for its style of chicken rice, for a while since I've sampled a lot of Hainan style chicken rice in Singapore and wanted to see how it differed. It was really good and very different than the Chinese style. Contrary to Karen H's review, no giblets in mine. Maybe you have to ask for them? Overall win.
