Their food was good but the kitchen always messed up. I only come here because my son loves the special sandwich but no matter how many times I told them cucumber only and no spicy cause my son cannot eat spicy food but they always have to put in something spicy and upset me every time. Can't wait until my son get sick of it and said no. I'm gonna have to look for another place.

We tried the Lynda and shredded chicken sandwiches and both were fantastic. Indeed they were some of the tastiest banh mi sandwiches. Prices were reasonable and the service was good. I do think it was worth the short walk from the famous chain sandwich store. I wouldn't say it's a must-try eatery but if you're looking for a quick bite, it's a solid choice.

Beignets are yummy! The cashier didn't ask me for a choice of sticks or triangular beignets, but they came in a triangular shape, which is what I wanted anyway. I got the powdered sugar one, which came hot and fresh - delicious! They aren't heavy, but they aren't light as a feather either. Took the leftovers home, and they were still good cold. My friend got the Combo Plate to share, which came with a lot of different things. I was hoping the Taiwanese sausage would taste as good and sweet as it does in Taiwanese restaurants, but this wasn't quite as good. Maybe because it's a different type of sausage? The egg was cooked well, as was the steak. The steak had good flavoring to it, and my friend appreciated that it wasn't tenderized, which gives it a strange texture. Place got pretty busy around 10:30 a.m. Oh, and they also offer a lighter version of Vietnamese coffee as well as the regular strong version. We got both - I found the lighter version to be a little too sweet for me, but mixing it with the strong one helped. Our food also came with a basket of baguette bread. Their mayo and lard (or whatever it is) spread was really good as it had an added garlic flavor. My friend had some stomach issues after, and I had some that night, but I'm not definite whether it was bc of the food here or due to something else.

I love Lynda's sandwhich. I may not be old enough (or invested enough) to know who she is aside from her being a famous Vietnamese singer, but hey her sandwiches and food are the bomb and that's all I need. You really can't go wrong with eating here. They have the best drinks, sandwiches and desserts, full rounded meal without breaking the bank too much! The bread is nice and light, not too hard and not flimsy, it feels hollowed out, im guessing so that they can jam pack it with all of their meats and veggies. I usually just get the good ol' Dac Biet with the assortment of cold cuts, the BBQ sandwiches are also really good. They have lots of meat and lots of veggies and together it makes the perfect Banh Mi. Love it! On to drinks - lots to choose from. I like their passion fruit drink as well as their Vietnamese coffee. Hot and cold, whatever you feel like. For dessert be sure to get their beignets with powdered sugar (I personally like them better than the cinnamon sugar). Unless you feel like churros... go for cinnamon sugar. So good... I need to get my butt over to Lynda's soon.

Really enjoyed the shaken beef combo plate. Had a little bit of everything to try with some shredded pork, pork patty, sausage, shredded daikon and carrots, cucumber and tomato, tater tots (which seemed random), fried egg and even pate in addition to the shaken beef itself. I'm gluten intolerant so I ordered rice instead of bread for the side. I came in here for a quick lunch, and that's exactly what I got. I'll definitely be coming back! I do have to say that their iced coffee isn't like the gold standard, Lee's, but was still quite good. I highly recommend this place if you are in the area.

I don't know anything about Vietnamese pop culture, but this place is like Vietnamese Hollywood. Lynda Sandwich is named after the owner, Lynda Trang Dai, who used to be the Madonna of Vietnam. It's essentially a decked out banh mi (Vietnamese sub sandwich) shop with relatively overpriced banh mis. Don't get me wrong, the sandwiches here are very good, but they're also $2.95 to $3.95 depending on which sandwich you order. It's still not much at all, but in comparison, you can get a banh mi dac biet (banh mi with everything) for $2.00 to $2.50 at other Vietnamese sandwich shops. I guess you're paying for the more "upscale" and entertaining atmosphere here. It's certainly the nicest banh mi restaurant I've ever eaten in. It's actually modern looking instead of matter-of-fact or divey. One of the walls inside is covered with nothing but autographed Glamour Shots of Vietnamese celebrities. Another wall has huge graphic art of other stars like Marilyn Monroe. At your feet is Lynda Sandwich's own version of the Hollywood Walk of Fame -- Lynda Walk of Fame? -- complete with gold stars, also autographed. In the hallway leading to the restrooms, more autographs on the wall, and Lynda Sandwich merchandise like t-shirts, tank tops, and hats. Wow. Gaudy contemporary furniture and color scheme, a spotlight, Buddha statue, and plasma TV complete the look. The restaurant offers about a dozen different types of banh mi, beignets ($3.95), coffees, teas, and shaved ice with fresh fruit. In addition, they also carry some other Vietnamese cuisine such as rice dishes, soups like hu tieu, and stews. One of their daily specials last week was bun bo hue, which is a vermicelli noodle soup with lemongrass-based broth. No pho on the menu. I tried a couple sandwiches: Lynda Special (Dac Biet, $3.75) - various Vietnamese cold cuts including ham, shredded pork, head cheese, daikon, pickled carrots, cilantro, jalapeno, onion Thit Nuong ($3.25) - grilled pork, daikon, pickled carrots, cilantro, jalapeno Both sandwiches were delicious. The French baguettes were baked fresh and the crust was nice and crisp. Meats and veggies were good quality and not too much butter was applied to the bread. The sandwiches were quite flavorful and satisfying. You can't go wrong with either one. The Thit Nuong (grilled pork) sandwich tasted sweeter than the Dac Biet. The Dac Biet is what I usually order when I get banh mi. Service was great. Lynda wasn't there, but her dad was and he is a very nice gentleman. He saw me snapping a few photos in and around the store and offered to help me. He knew the best angles to take photos and everything. It was kind of funny. Oh yeah, and you may spot some Vietnamese celebrities while dining here. We did. Outdoor seating available so you can enjoy your banh mi and coffee or refreshments outdoors. 3 stars + 1 for the unique, "star-studded" atmosphere.

They charge $1 for credit card payment if your order is less than $10. Sandwiches have large portions of meat. But coffee drinks aren't filled up to the top, even with little/large ice cubes.

I'm not going to throw around the "best banh mi ever" title around because frankly, this was my first experience with this sandwich. I was very happy that my first banh mi was from Lynda Sandwich. I was extremely impressed, and for the price, you can't beat it. I got the banh mi ga, the chicken one, and it was super tasty. It appealed to both my European and Asian tastes. The moist shredded chicken is nestled instead perfectly crunchy bread. Let's not forget about homemade aioli slathered on the inside. It's the bomb. The perfect amount of herbaceous cilantro and the bite of fresh jalapeno among other vegetables round out the sandwich. This place makes me wonder how fast food burger joints survive? Swing by here instead of having an In-N-Out heart attack. It's cheap and awesome! I just wish I found myself in Westminster more often to try a few more of Lynda's sandwich choices.

This review is not about the food. The customer service here is horrible on another level. Sunday afternoon shift. The old man was taking my order then the phone rang. He decided to pick up the phone and took their order with me standing there trying to pay and looking dumbfounded as fuck. Thank you but no thanks. You can keep your food and I keep my money. What is wrong with Asians and customer service? NONEXISTENT!

I'm gonna be crazy and just give this place 5 stars. Ironically I have never dined in the restaurant. The hubs always picks it up for me. And I figured, if I still think it tastes good after a 45 min. commute I'm sure it's damn good fresh! I honestly love everything about the sandwich. The bread, the homemade mayo, the right amount of veggies and a good amount of meat. The right things are warm and the right things are cold. The bread doesn't tear my mouth apart or make a complete mess. I seriously love the food from there and yes it helps that I grew up watching Lynda in Paris by Night!! Love her!! I have tried the grilled pork, Lynda special, sausage and egg, chicken and beef. My favorite by far is the beef!! I just found out there's a chicken sausage one that I want to try next. It has a great selection for people who don't eat pork. I know, those people are a weird breed but hey I'm thoughtful. And for anyone who whines about the price - come on! Seriously. It's not that expensive compared to even getting a fast food combo somewhere. This is good quality food. Natural ingredients and very filling.

Their beignets are yummy, kinda small, but just the perfect bite. Their sandwiches are ok, not the best. Do order their combination plate and you won't regret it. Wished there was more tables and chairs in the patio seating. Service and staff needs a major revamp. Looks like they hire a bunch young high school girls that just don't care, can be a bit dumb-founded at times.

have only tried their org flavor beignets, strong iced coffee and the veggie banh mi and it was really good!!! I would prefer the coffee to be more rich/thick but it was still good. also like the decor inside. nice cozy place for some good banh mi and conversations !

My roommate took me here for breakfast. I let him order for me and it was 2 orders of xiu mai with bread and 2 vietnamese iced coffees. The xiu mai was yummy. Basically a steamed meatball in some kind of sauce/oil. You use the bread to dip. A very home-y meal and filling. Their iced coffee was as vietnamese iced coffee usually is--strong. I usually have to let my ice melt a bit before I can drink it. Otherwise I'll have heart palpitations for the entire day. The cafe itself is cute and quaint. Lots of pretty orchids inside to look at and a wall of Viet celebs to look at. From the outside, there's a grand opening sign--which i'm pretty sure it's been open for awhile. I definitely want to go back and try the banh mi! Better yet. Pick up banh mi, take it to the beach and enjoy life. That sounds amazing.

Awesome Bánh mì! Lynda is a sweet lady and her sandwiches are amazing. I live close to her place which is dangerous. I would recommend their shrimp and chicken sandwich. Next time I'm there I will try their beef sandwich.

I don't usually write reviews but I had to for this place. First off, it's SO CLEAN! Beautiful shiny floor, sparkling tables, clean walls, and shiny soda counters. I was really impressed with how well the place is kept up. You can tell they take pride in their business. Some sandwiches that stuck out to me were grilled barbeque pork sandwich to fried egg and chinese sausage to name a few! First bite: HEAVEN! Seriously, it was like biting into a cloud of juicy bbq pork. Best part, it wasn't messy. I didn't have sauce all over my hands and face. Also helped that I didn't get it on my shirt since I was on my way to a business meeting after. I planned on saving half for later, but I couldn't help it... I ate the whole thing! As I was eating, the owner Lynda came over and asked how I was enjoying the sandwich. Now that's customer service if I've ever seen it. I really felt valued since my first step in the door. I love this place! You guys are the best! Thanks for the Best Sandwich experience... I'll be back..0.

Lynda, I have never been to your store but I know a young lady who is a huge fan of yours. She is a special girl that has autism and her only wish for her upcoming birthday is your entire karaoke collection. Her family has been able to purchase all your dvds except for Lynda in Macau and Lynda I Want You. If you have copies of those two titles I will be happy to purchase them from you. This will make this special young lady truly happy to sing your songs. Christina

To satisfy our curiosity, my mom and I stopped by to try the "Lynda Special" sandwich when we were in the area. The shop is small, clean, and actually has a decor theme, unlike many other Vietnamese restaurants. It's decorated to look like a movie studio, with faux stage props and pictures of celebrities adorning the wall. We ordered the Lynda Special, and it was ready after just a few minutes. My mom thought the $3.75 (pre tax) price tag was steep, but I thought it was a bargain. I enjoyed the sandwich and really liked the creamy house mayo. It had a good amount of meat/veggie filling, and I liked that the cold cuts didn't have a strong stench like at other shops. I forgot to check if there was any pate on it (I didn't taste any), but I bet that adding some would be amazing. I don't usually have strong enough cravings for banh mi to convince me to drive all the way here, but I mean... if I did, I would probably come here.

My go to Vietnamese sandwich place whenever I go up to Huntington Beach! The iced coffee is amazing! Wish I could have one of those everyday. :)

Much bigger than it looks from the outside. I was skeptical, but I read about their BEIGNETS in OC Weekly. Were they right! You'll have to wait because they make them when you order, but they are amazing. They're warm and delicious and for about $4, you get a ton of beignets. They served our family of 5 so I think there were about 30 beignet triangles.

They have delicious grilled and bbq pork sandwiches that probably beat Lee's in Little Saigon. The parking is easy. The banh mi's are super cheap prices. The service is fast and everything is made fresh. It's near my house and I will definitely go back there.

This place was recommended by my nail lady, who's Vietnamese, who also said this place had better banh mi's than THH or Lees. So okay, I'll try it out. I walk in, the place was pretty empty. There are two young, sour-faced workers behind the counter. No friendly greeting, no smile, not even a crack. Okay. So, I ordered 2 grilled pork banh mi's, a berry smoothie and a large sea salt coffee. His response, "we only have one size." Okay, fine. After he gives me my change, he proceeds to the back and gives my banh mi order to the sandwich assembler. Then without washing his hands after handling cash, he starts to make the smoothie and the sea salt coffee. Errr...gross! I was watching him like a hawk, and the other sour-faced girl kept talking to him and giving me dirty looks. Isn't this place fairly new? Shouldn't you dumb f*cks be nicer to customers so they'll come back and bring you more customers?? I don't care if your banh mi's are good, which it wasn't, it was just okay. The sea salt coffee was kind of gross. I don't know if the berry smoothie was any good, I didn't ask the person I got it for. But people, Customer Service!!!! Or lack there of at this place. I won't be back. There are too many other banh mi places to suffer through sh!tty customer service. This place will become a statistic in no time...

I had huge reservations about this place because it's owned by a Vietnamese singer but at the same time I was curious. I was surprisingly pleased with everything though!!! BEIGNETS I love love the beignets here. They are made fresh to order, and you can choose between triangle or sticks. I like the triangles better because they are more bite size. For about $3.50, you get 25-30 beignets, which is awesome. I always get a batch of them. Note: They are made to be eaten right away, but when i need to transport the, the open paper thingy isn't so great. So I hit up the Ming Bakery next to it for a cute little box [costs 0.30 cents] and put the beignets in them. Perfect fit for one batch, and I can take it to my friends! BANH MI DAC BIET / LYNDA SPECIAL I made my mom order this for me and I really liked it. I asked for the veggies separate so that I can have some later and it was a good idea. The meats [cold cuts and shredded chicken] were tender and the bread wasn't hard like Lee's Sandwiches nearby. The spicy peppers added the perfect kick, and the pickled jicama and carrots were also well done. BBQ PORK or BEEF / THIT NUONG This is quite good as well. The meat wasn't dry, but tender and juicy. Also asked for the veggies separately. SERVICE Lynda works there a lot and you will see her at the register. She's nice and accommodating, and answered all our questions. DECOR Really cute. Cafe style tables, lounge chairs, and tons of wall decor. PATIO So cute. The decor, the chairs, the secluded little ambiance of it surprises me because its situated near the street and in a very busy shopping center. They did a great job with the patio.

This is a little classier than the typical Viet place, has nice decor and chill environment. The banh mi are good, bread is fresh and nice balance to ingredients, they don't try to fill it up with too much meat. The spread they put inside is a little different that most typical banh mi places but makes it taste better and moister.

  • Laura O.

Love the sandwiches here. They have a pretty good selection of options so you should have little problem finding something to fix your craving. The people here are really nice and the service is pretty quick. We were the only non Asian people in the place but we are used to that. That's the fun of food adventures.

The banh mi trung lap xuong here is bomb here even though it's very unhealthy. The mi ong Bo luc lac at Lynda's is also good. They are full of flavor! Their java jello is a yummy dessert and one of a kind because I haven't seen any other places that have it. Lynda sandwich is a place where you want to go to order food on the go!

  • Kim D.

I've been here more than a few times. I really like their Bo Kho, the portions are a good size and every time I've gotten it the taste has been consistently good. I also tried the beignet, and it's so good!!! It's definitely a must try! However I got the banh mi op la and it was good except for the fact the the bread was too crispy. So a minus star for the crispy bread! Customer service was great. The cashier was helpful and nice.

I LoVe Banh Mi! And will always be on the hunt for new places to try. One afternoon on my way to home from work, i noticed this cute little place off of Beach Blvd with a huge banner that said "NOW OPEN". At the closest stop light i deicded to look up this place. And to my surprise not only is it a new sandwhich cafe but not any run of the mill boring sandwhich cafe.. A Banh Mi making cafe! Bookmarked!! And rumor has it a popular vietnamese pop star is the proud owner of this business as well. Pretty coolio! I decided to stop here for a quick bite a couple of days later. Parking is pretty easy breezy. I was very impress that they keep this little cafe so tidy and clean. When i walked in they were on the busy side, but had a couple of employee's cleaning the windows and also outside cleaning the tables. Their menu is pretty easy to choose from so i deicded on trying their bbq pork (XA XIU) no jalapenos. What sets this place a part from the other Banh Mi places is they make their own mayo (which they will not tell you their secret). Hard to describe, but you a can taste a difference. The cafe is cute, plently of places to sit inside and out. The atmosphere has a relaxed vibe which makes it nice to catch up with friends or to have a bite to eat and study. It took about 10minutes for my sandwich to be ready. Total cost for my XA XIU $2.45. Not bad, the baguette was fresh (and not tough or hard, for once the roof of my mouth wasnt cut up like that last time i had lee's)it had a very light, crackly crust. Just the right amount of tender pork nestled under shredded pickled carrots & daikon, fresh cilantro, and crispy cucumber slices. This place is cool in my book, i'll definitely be returning here soon!

i got tired of lee's sandwiches cutting the inside of my mouth so i ventured to lynda since driving pass it so many times as it is down the street from where i live. believe me i was skeptical at first. i started off slow, with banh mi cha pork roll. my boyfriend liked to get the special, but we've tried four different kinds and everything was good. my favorite though is the chicken. i like how its shredded and seasoned, might just be my preference but its the best banh mi ga around here. another fave is the grilled pork, which my bf also likes and grilled beef. the butter in the sandwiches are so yummy, i like the veggies in them too and how it's not overloaded because i like having more meat instead of a sandwich stuffed with veggies. we go here whenever we can, which is at least twice during the weekend.

On my continuing quest for the phenomenal Banh Mi, by recommendation from a passerby in Little Saigon, I tried Lynda Sandwich. The french bread baguette, which is a key ingredient, was not fresh. I ordered the grilled beef version which was ground beef essentially that was flavorless. The vegetable ingredients were lacking and not very fresh or crunchy. I was disappointed.

The not so good: The ambiance was a bit to hipster for my taste... The Good, Correction the Great: The best Banh Mi and Beignets I have had in OC. We tried the Shrimp Banh Mi and the Chicken Banh Mi both were excellent, the bread was warm and soft, they were filling but light. The Beignets were not overly greasy but were very delicate - we loved them. The Vietnamese coffee was a bit weak for my taste but I will order a stronger one next time.

Wow so many haters =) We stopped in here after grocery shopping with my mom and got a Dac Biet Sandwich to share for lunch. It was pretty darn good I thought. Their bread is like Lees, which I like. It wasn't dry and the there was plenty of yummy meat inside. Overall, we were satisfied. The guy helping was nice. The restaurant itself reminds me of Starbucks except everything is Orange. It also reminds me of a movie production stage. Eh, a little tacky with the fobby singer photos, but not bad. Its more Americanized and it has potential for a place I would study at... maybe. They also have various coffees, shaved ice, yogurt, jello, che, boba and their famous Beignets. It's chill and I would come back again.

I came home from work last week and my mom bought me some banh mi from here. I have been wanting to try this place out for awhile now, but its kind of out of the way for me so Im glad my mom decided to get some banh mi for me. She got me the Chicken Banh mi. I was surprised at how good it was. The chicken and sandwich was very flavorful and fresh and I like that the bread is nicely toasted and warm too. Very good! After devouring the sandwich, i came back here a few days later and tried their combination/special breakfast plate, which included eggs, steak, chicken, vietnamese sausage, tater tots, and vietnamese ham. All this came with their yummy bread. This item was very good as well. I am a big fan of this place! I will definitely be back when I am in the mood for some banh mi!b=

omg! omg! Lynda Trang Dai has a sammich shop! omg! omg! I had to go to this place. I was really hoping to run into Lynda Trang Dai or Tommy Ngo. Alas, I ran into Lynda's dad, who was gracious enough to offer to take pictures for us. And, even though I did not run into Lynda or Tommy, I did run into Be Map and Quoc Anh. They're celebrities too...in some people's eyes...back in the 90s. Here's a brief education on Lynda Trang Dai. She was the Vietnamese equivalent of Madonna in her days. She was a sex bomb back in the day. And so was her hubby, Tommy Ngo. But they best thing about them is they are really cool, down to earth folks. When I heard about her sandwich shop, I had to visit. The place is nicely decorated and really alludes to Lynda's days in the music industry. There's a wall montage of other Vietnamese celebrity friends and associates and their autographs. You can even purchase Lynda Sandwich gear. The floor has stars and autographs. Even the toilet seat cover has a star carving on it. The place itself is small, and probably seats no more than 15 in-door, but it does have a patio. The sandwiches are more expensive than usual, about 5 dollars a piece. They're pretty good, but as you can imagine, there's a ceiling to how good a banh mi can taste. We tried the Lynda Special and the Grilled Pork Banh Mi. The bread is good and has a noticeable more yellow hue than other banh mi. The servers were friendly enough, but weren't that helpful. They weren't too knowledgeable of the foods there. I also think the place could be better kept. Tables weren't cleaned from previous customers and even though we were one of 2 dine-in customers, we had no choice but to sit at the one clean table. The workers should be more mindful, especially when they're not busy. This place still gets a 4 star because I love Lynda

I came here on a Thursday afternoon and the first person that helped me was Lynda herself! She was so nice and even loved taking selfies with me! She's so nice and helpful. I ordered the chicken sandwhich and BBQue pork sandwhice and it was so good! The venue is really roomy and nice! A great place!

My boyfriend and I decided to stop here spontaneously because we were hungry and wanted a snack but snack ended up turning into lunch. I have to say I was impressed it was very nicely decorated inside. Clean and had enough seating for about 20 people on the inside. And about 10 to 12 people on the outside which judging by the ashtrays and the trashcan is probably an area where people like to smoke. Oddly enough my favorite part of the restaurant was the bathroom the bathroom was immaculate and very unique. since it was our first time my boyfriend I asked for suggestions for what would be the best sandwich to get we were told the Lynda Special which was so good that we ended up getting three sandwiches(one for me, one for my boyfriend, and one for us to have each half.) Now this doesn't mean that only one sandwich won't fill you up if you're not a big eater and even if you are a big eater I think one sandwich will still fill you up. But we will definitely be back if we are ever in the area again.

The most memorable experiences in life are the ones stumbled upon unexpectedly and under strange circumstances. On the last night of my first trip to Paris, I got caught in a sudden downpour and so I ducked into an unassuming, dark little bistro (Au Gamin de Paris, 51 rue Vieille du Temple) where I proceeded to have one of the best meals of my life. I had a similar experience at Lynda Sandwiches: I found myself in Riverside dealing with a family emergency. After a long, stressful day at a nearby hospital, I was famished: I was desperate to get something in my stomach before I got on the freeway. I think I was lured into the shopping center by Lee's Sandwiches' familiar sign, but I ended up in Lynda. Not sure what made me chose it over Lee's: certainly not the decor (which feels like a misguided attempt to emulate one of those "design on a dime" shows on HGTV). I live in San Francisco where Bahn Mi are as cheap and plentiful as they are delicious, so my expectations were low. But I was pleasantly surprised at how well-crafted (and inexpensive) my pork sandwich was. Over the next couple of days, I returned, ordering different things off the menu and each time falling more in love with this quirky strip-mall restaurant and the exceptionally friendly staff. On the third day, I hit the jackpot by ordering the beignets: steaming hot and crisp out of the fryer and dredged in powdered sugar, I ate the entire order before even touching my sandwich (which I proceeded to scarf down next). Overall, it was a tough, long week dealing with a stressful family matter, but I look back fondly on Lynda (and her beignets) for lessening the burden ever so slightly. I doubt I'll find myself in Riverside anytime soon, but next time I'm in LA, I just might take the long drive to Lynda ...

3.5 stars. The sandwiches here are pretty good I gotta admit. Pricier than most other sandwich places but more quality. The sauce they use is diff from others. Banh mi ga is quite tasty. Even though they have tables and seatings, it's a grab and go kinda place. I mean, who sits there to eat banh mi. :p

My mom insisted that we come here since it was owned by some vietnamese celebrity back in the day. Walking in - i was skeptical of the food because the decor screamed "I used to be famous" with her various displays of signed pictures of other famous celebs. It also looked like Lynda just used her name to open up a restaurant and expect people to like it just because she endorsed it. I'm not a big fan of people who exploit their name just to stay rich. However, after ordering the chicken banh mi - i was sold. The ingredients were fresh and the spread that they used enhanced the chicken! This has become one of my favorite banh mi places in the OC. The prices are higher than others but it's well worth it.

I returned after my first visit. Yes, their banh mi is quite good. I order Lynda Special, which is uniquel indeed as compared to the banh mi-special at other Vietnamese sandwhich shops. Customer service is okay. I wish they could have put someone behind the counter with a more friendly look and attitude, though I am not complaining their employee's assignment. Free wifi and lots of seating inside as well as outside in the patio.

Lynda Sandwich 3.5 Stars Gold Medal - Cinnamon Beignets Silver Medal - Honey Beignets Bronze Medal - Powdered Sugar Beignets The place is ok. Cute decor, but nothing special. The sandwiches are ok. Come here for the beignets though. Pretty good! They have three flavors. Original (powdered sugar), honey and cinnamon. Just like the OG ones in New Orleans, but smaller. Lynda Trang Dai is a Vietnamese singer and the owner of this place. According to my friend, she is a very big deal in Vietnam. She's always there, so if you wanna snap a picture, don't be shy. Extra half star for hob nobbing with a celebrity. OK place to spend an afternoon sipping tea and munching on beignets.

If you want a fresh tasting baguette and an overall light feeling sandwich, Lynda's is a great place. A co-worker brought me and a group here for lunch and hands down it will always be better than any Lee's Sandwiches. The only reason why I say that is because the ingredients tasted fresh, the way they cut their meat is better, even the way they spread their baguette is good. One certainly did not fill me up! They even have a vegetarian selection, their tofu is cut up and seasoned to taste like chicken, couldn't even tell the difference! Service was a little weird, everyone looked confused or a little disorganized, and the cashier could've definitely been more uppity and happy.

The first time I had lynda sandwich I was blown away... I had the thit nuong (grilled pork); it was warm n the bread had just the right about of flakeyness to it. The meat was delicious warm n tasted fresh. I also ordered the PassionFruit Iced Tea which was refreshing! I was so blown away that I came back three times that week.. I love eating there and sitting outside the patio on a nice sunny day with coffee in hand. However there is an inconsistency when dining in & ordering To Go. Quality of their To Go sandwiches did not have the same type of warm soft bread as with dining in. Which is a disappointment. Because people are on the go nowadays and would love to enjoy that same quality of sandwich... on the go! So if u want fresh sandwhich; dine in. If you To Go: U can basically go to any of the other sandwich place. (NOT Lee's though) This place does have potential though. It has a coffeeshop vibe, that I wouldn't mind lounging around sipping on coffee & tea. They also offer free Wifi too! 3 stars for the inconsistency of the quality of sandwich and mediocre service.

Hands down the best banh mi in all of SoCal. I've been to every legitimate banh mi joint in the OC, LA, and SGV and Lynda's has def got the magic formula. I don't know how else to explain it, because from the outside looking in banh mi is banh mi, but with Lynda I swear it was love at first bite. My favorites include the Chinese Sausage with Egg and of course the Lynda's Special. Both have distinct flavors and are quite filling, so take a cue from me and get both sandwiches even if you can't finish them.

I came here to try the bun bo hue. I heard that Lynda makes it herself. It's not bad not the best. The is very basic bun bo hue. If you don't like pigs feet, the blood cubes then you will enjoy it.

After so many good sandwiches in the past, I was bound to have a real clunker today. The normally very dependable BBQ pork was sliced from end pieces filled with fat and gristle. The baguette was cld which told me it was yesterday's bake. Might take a while to get over this experience.

I've been here twice. I'm a visual person so it was hard to decide what I wanted with no pictures on the menu. The first time I went here I ordered Lynda's Special. It was pretty good. The 2nd time----restaurant was kinda empty but yet we waited a loooonnng time just for 2 sandwiches? I didn't know it takes that long making banh mi??? Well, it was good the 2nd time around too....... :-) Also ordered their Beignets. Not bad! When we finally couldn't eat anymore I asked for a to-go container. The guy rudely says, "i'll wrap it!" Whoa. Okay! Once he took our sandwiches ....it took awhile for us to see it again! We were a bit confused about that. What goes on back there in the kitchen?! Anyways, I'd definitely come back to try other things on the menu though.

average.. got the lynda special and the meat was dry. the bread was hardddd. maybe it's not always that hard but either way quality control. they shouldn't serve stale bread. beignet was good but nothing I would crave for

So much hype about this place so I decided to try it out. It's a cute little shop. Love the decors with nice seating and tables. Vietnamese needs more spot like this to hang out. I'm a but tired of all the boba shops filled with tweens. Everytime I come here, I always see some Vietnamese celebs. The sandwiches were okay. They seem to miss a salty element in my opinion. The mayo is a little bit overwhelmed. It is nicely presented sandwich. The teas were okay. A little overpriced. Beignets were the star of the meal. We asked for 3 flavors mixed together (original, honey glaze, and cinnamon). The waitress said she is not supposed to do it but she'll make it for us anyway. They were so good. The best beignets in OC so far. I like this better Lilly's because it was light, fluffy, and crunch. They were perfect size and did not seem doughy. I think honey glaze would be my personal selection next time. It was different than other two flavors. They seem to offer a variety of desserts. Would come back to try them out.

Lynda Sandwich is a cute little mom and pop cafe with a chill and unique ambiance that makes you keep wanting to come back for some yummy food and relaxing leisure time. They specialize in Vietnamese sandwiches but also serve other Vietnamese dishes. I haven't tried anything other than the sandwiches but I plan to at some point because the pictures here are pretty appealing. The owners are a married Vietnamese singer couple. Naturally, the design of this cafe is music inspired. When you walk in, you see a wall of pictures of Vietnamese singers and their autographs. If you look down you see Hollywood stars with more autographs. I love the personal touch that went into the decoration. Onto the main attraction, the food. The sandwiches here are considered expensive compared to other banh mi in the area but the quality kind of justifies the price. I usually have no complaints... the bread is perfectly soft with a slight crunch, they don't skim on the meat, and the garlic mayonaise is amazing. There was a point where I really loved the sandwiches and would give this place 5 stars. However, my recent purchases were little disappointing. My dac biet (special) sandwich and chicken sandwich yesterday really didn't have enough meat and the bread was too crunchy for my liking. I also didn't like that there were big pieces of fatty pork in my special. Despite the disappointments, I'm still a fan. The sandwiches here are generally very tasty. My recommendations are the special, the grilled pork, and the grilled beef. The beignets here are to die for. Fried sugary dough...'nough said, what's not to love?! The portion is pretty big for a cheap price. *Tip: I always call ahead to order to go so my order is ready when I arrive.

So, at first, I was a little skeptical about eating at a place bearing the name of a popular Vietnamese singer...but I kept hearing good things about the place and wanted to check it out myself. We ordered a banh mi dac biet, chicken banh mi, passion fruit iced tea, iced coffee and cinnamon beignets. I'm not a huge banh mi person to begin with but once in a while i enjoy eating one. I was pleasantly surprised with both the dac biet and chicken banh mi. The bread was not to doughy and had a nice crunch (usually we have to re-toast at home). My husband commented he liked the pickled vegetables in the sandwich. I also really enjoyed my passion-fruit iced-tea as it was not too sweet but had a lot of flavor. The iced coffee was decent too. I wasn't that impressed with the cinnamon beignets. It's a good size portion but it didn't wow me like the ones I had in New Orleans and Houston. However, overall, I thought the quality of the food was good and it was a nice and relaxed atmosphere. Interested in trying more of the items on the menu next time!

came here and ordered the beignets--they have the honey glazed, cinnamon and original. we ordered the later two. Each order was $4 each with a plentiful amount of mini beignets. So price wise, was reasonable. However, like another reviewer had stated, the beignets here are too doughy and the cinnamon flavored one was too bland. Maybe I'm just comparing it to the beignets I had at cafe du mondu in new orleans--never have found a place that around here that is even 1/2 close to the delicousness that they serve there. In any case, won't be buying beignets here again for sure.

Banh mi thit is ok ( try better Banh mi somewhere else in OC)The Che and drinks are just decent. I guess it a good place to visits if your a visitor from outer state or a fans of Lynda trang dai. The restaurant was nicely decorates with photos of all the Viet stars and their signatures on the wall. Something to look around when you enter the restaurant.

I ordered the banh mi dac biet aka Lynda special in hopes that this would be my new fave sandwich place, but it's definitely a no-go. The pate wasn't very good and the meat portions were very slim to none. They also charge you an additional 25 cents per sandwich if you want to get the veggies on the side. Wth is that? Does it cost that much for a sandwich bag now a days? I guess I should try thieir chicken sandwich next time I'm in the area...maybe it will be better. I also ordered the cinnamon sugar flavored beignet sticks which were extremely tasty with very good portions. They kinda taste like pretzel sticks from the mall. Another favorite thing that I tried was the JAVA JELLO. I think that the non-coffee lovers may even like this. I thought it was very refreshing especially with the splash of milk on top. There's a lot of parking. Decor is very nice. Hope to run into LTD next time I am there!

The banh mi here is so good. My family ordered the thit nuong, dac biet, and chicken. All of the sandwiches were very flavorful. This is definitely my new favorite banh mi place. Sorry, Gala Bakery.

I've been in this plaza numerous times and I've never noticed this place. It doesn't look like much on the outside, but it's pretty nice inside. It's owned by the former Vietnamese singer, Lynda Trang Dai, hence the name and the many pictures of Vietnamese singers on the walls. I'm not a big fan of Vietnamese sandwiches. Got tired of eating them while I grew up. But even so, I thought the BBQ pork sandwich I tried here was really good. Great flavor on the meat with a crunch from the veggies. Don't even compare the sandwiches here to the atrocity to Vietnamese sandwiches known as Lee's. I also tried the bo luc lac (shaken beef) and bo kho (beef stew) here. The bo luc lac was flavorful and tender. I loved the garlic and the fact that the beef was cut into smaller pieces than usual because my mouth is smaller than most people's. Although the portion was just right for me, I felt $8 was a bit expensive for that amount of food. As for the bo kho, it was also really good. I've had bad experiences during which I've had to practically gnaw through my beef, so I definitely appreciated the tender beef they had here. Good food and decent atmosphere. They accept credit cards, but there's a $10 minimum charge.

I was in the neighborhood and was bookmarked, so decided to check it out. Pretty cool place and the staff was very friendly. I ordered the Lynda Special sandwich, the original beignets, and the passion fruit ice tea. I thought all of it tasted great, especially the passion fruit ice tea. Loved it!! I don't recall having beignets before and for the price, I got alot for one person to eat. I would share with someone but I wasn't with anyone so I grubbed it down myself. Yum! I had no complaints with the sandwich - it was great. This was a nice place to get your grub on and the staff very friendly.

I was gallivanting around HB this morning and remembered my Yelp Friend Sarah A's review of this place that I'd bookmarked. So, since I had one more errand to run in the HB before heading home, cooler in tow with ice packets I jumped past the 405 and jumped to it for a BANH MI Dac Biet-Lynda's Special. I always start with a sandwich or burger joints signature piece; if that's good grub then I explore other sandwiches like Davy Crockett and his men all alone for weeks on end...Ahem...the sandwich & Lynda Sandwich: BANH MI Dac Biet-Lynda's Special (AKA The Crack-Wich!): A 6 " sandwich, fully loaded with, 6 thick Round Cut Pork slices, Cilantro, diced fresh Cucumbers, smothered with that orgasmic Mayonnaise (as described in previous reviews) that they will not tell you how it's made (my Yelp Friend and expert in food prep-Tess M says it's most likely this seriouseats.com/talk/200… ) engulfed between two very thick crusty on th inside-soft on the inside sqaure cut French Rolls. When I got this sandwich home (as I always do with many sandwiches) I added some White Albacore Tuna and dribbled Hoisin Sauce on top, cut this delight into 4 squares so I could savor every bite as not to let anything drop on my plate but only into my mouth! I'm gonna say it finally-A Damn Good Sandwich! Price-$3.25! The young man who took my order very patiently explained which sandwiches are better made cold to (they make them hot too) and which ones are not. Also, he suggested the Fish Cake or Salomon Fish sandwich next time. The staff here are very efficient, personable, accommodating and, the clientele (although reminding me of my days playing Pan Nine at The Commerce & Bicycle Club Casinos) were regulars and that is always a good sign. The outside is very nicely decorated with umbrella covered tables and, was quite busy as mostly all of the tables were taken. Now the inside was very, very Chic-Moderene, very reminiscent of the French influence when Vietnam was a French colony back in the day. Also, from the beautiful fish scale Chandler, tables, chairs and especially the bathroom with very nice amenities (a lovely scented candle set in between an open armed golden frog=comfort & peace) and the high tech Loo, sink and faucet made me want to sit in the dim lighting and ponder! On their menu is printed: "Lynda Sandwich invites you to come and indulge with the stars" My Vietnamese friend Julie Phan (after hearing I went here today) informed me that this newly opened business is owned by a very popular Vietnamese Husband & Wife actor & actress and, the wife is a very popular singer in Vietnam as well. I'm coming back and do give this Gourmet Sandwich Shop (without the Gourmet Prices a shot), you will enjoy! Now you Yelpers: youtube.com/watch?v=hwqw…

I'm a vegetarian and have been to Lynda's a few times, right when they had a grand opening and sometimes afterward. There are not many choices for vegetarians and so I'm always stuck with ordering one kind of banh mi, vegetarian :). There's nothing really special about the sandwich, it's just somewhat of a new concept in twisting the ingredient a little bit. Those who are a fan of banh mi and know how to make it would understand what I mean. I'd go back here if I'm craving for their veggie sandwich.

I came here simply because the owner of this place (Lynda) happens to be my manager's sister. Anyway, I ordered the Cha Ca (fish) sandwich and it was very good and I'd say that this sandwich is my favorite of them all. The Bo Luc Lac with spaghetti is good, however I thought the spaghetti was a bit hard and could be a little more softer. The only bit of a downfall is regarding the price of the Bo Luc Lac, which was around $8-9 something for the entire meal, but I guess that's somewhat reasonable because you're getting 'meat'. Overall, this is a nicely decorated place with pretty good food and snacks. The first time I came here, I actually saw Lynda Trang Dai, super cool moment but I sadly, didn't get a chance to talk to her. Anyone who is new to Orange County and would like to try some Vietnamese banh mi should come here (other than coming to Lee's). Btw, their passion fruit iced tea is fruity-liciousss and pretty refreshing!

Lynda's fried egg/cured sausage sandwich, you could put most breakfast places out of business. Stand aside, eggs benedict. Move back, sausage mcmuffin. Look out, bacon and eggs! A new sheriff's in town and it is tasty! Chinese red sausage, a perfectly fried egg, some magical version of mayo, and spicy pickly veggies all rolled up in soft-on-the-inside, crispy-flaky-on-the-outside bread, for $3.25. Expensive for banh mi, yes, but I'll take it. Add that to the one passion fruit iced tea I've ever gotten from a Vietnamese place that isn't way way too sweet, plus, there is fruit in the ice cubes... and you've got one Yelper who is pissed that Lynda Sandwich isn't right down the street from her house. It would be a little weird to spend $5 in gas for a $3 sandwich.

Yay! I'm a phan! The service was great. nice peeps over there. YES... it is a little pricier than other Vietnamese banh mi places, but only by a few quarters. You can taste the freshness and quality when you eat the sangwiches here... i hope its fresh or thats just embarrassing on my part... I do have bad taste when it comes to girls. Banh Mi Dac Biet "combo" - Hot damn diggity my first bite... it was orgasmic. I wanted to commit homicidal acts of pure rage... must of been something in the pate. The bread was fresh/soft and doesnt cut up your gums like at LEEs. I noticed they didnt give as much meat as other places which is why I'm not giving 5 stars. They charge more and give a little... wtHEO?! Even the hookers I picked up on Harbor wouldnt do that to me :( Banh Mi Thit Nuong "BBQ Pork" - Like another yelper mentions, they have a different kind of marinate. and yelpers... yes its damn delicious. I would def recommend Lyndas! I may be over hyping these damn sangwiches but its bc its MUCH better than most banh mi places in the area. Smell you later.

Food is ok but when a hottie like Tommy Ngo is at the register..who the hell cares =P j/p. Take your visiting relatives here.. they'd get a kick out of it! I placed my order with a pretty cute guy. I then thought to myself "man he looks familiar." Then it clicked in my head "Ooooh Lynda is Lynda Trang Dai ..wowzers.. Tommy Ngo looks good after all these years!!" DECOR: When I walked in and saw a buncha photos of Vietnamese stars.. Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen.. Minh Tuyet.. etc. All of them signed the photos. I figured "man this person must know a lot of famous people." They have stars on the floor with autographs on them. Now it all makes sense. I waited in line (place is very cozy and almost a Starbucks atmosphere (but not the tacky boba ikea decor ok?. It actually looked nice with a mural of Elizabeth Taylor (the early years), Marilyn and the beatles. REVIEW OF THE FOOD: The baguette bread is thin and not too doughy in the middle. It is however soft yet crisp. The sandwich is put together well in regards to ingredients. It is just lacking in quantity of meat. The "mayo" on the sandwich is more like a garlic aoli..if you're a fan of those "nouveau" banh mi shops such as Le Diplomate in Irvine.. you'd probably like it here. The portion of meat is on the weak side. Thick slices of peppers and all the veggies were cut thick and fresh. The Xa Xiu was thinly sliced and not too flavorful. The Lynda Sandwich aka Dac Biet $2.95) was a-ok. Nothing too special. They offer Banh Mi Chao Tom (it's called Grilled Shrimp tho so I'm not sure what that is. They even have Chinese Sausage and Egg (that'll run you $3.75). Their Thit Nuong had a Ngu Vi Huong (5spice) flavor to it. They cut the Banh Mi in half for you for easier eating. Beignets are fried fresh. It's not super doughy but fried crisp. It was lacking in something but I couldn't pint point it. It was $3.50 an order. Their Lychee Tea is absolutlely refreshing. It's not super syrupy and sugary like your other boba/tea houses. I LOVE IT and I'm not a fan of sweet drinks. Bottom line: if you like the more "hipper" banh mi sandwich shops like Top Baguette, Tip Top, Lee's..etc... definietely check out Lynda sandwiches. If you like your sandwiches OG like at Ba Le, Gala, Saigon, Cali, then I'd say you might want to pass.

Let me start off by saying that I am not Vietnamese but none the less I am in LOVE with their food. I didn't really know what to order the first time I stopped in but being that I've been to lee's a few times I just ordered what I know. I got the BBQ pork sandwich, and let me tell you it's my new obsession whenever I'm in town. Also the plain triangle Beignets are soooo good they melt in your mouth and always come out fresh and hot. I promise that one day I will explore the rest of the menu but for now I'll stick to my original old school favorite. Lynda I love your sandwich can't wait til the next time I'm in town for a repeat.

came here for some good vietnamese sandwich and was getting tired of the same ol' Lee's. although this place is cute and has potential, i really didn't care for their sandwich. i had the Lynda special which is basically like the #1 combo at Lee's except they put this fishy type of mayonnaise spread in their sandwich. i thought it was just the Lynda special but they also put it in their BBQ Pork sandwich and the Fried Egg and Cured Pork sandwich (which was what he ordered). I really don't like any sauce in my sandwich so this was a huge disappointment to me. I ate the sandwich with much hesitation only because i was starving. other people might like the mayonnaise in their sandwiches, but it's just not for me. plus their sandwiches are nearly $4 each (eek).

I really like this place even though I've only been here twice! Both times I got their passion tea. I definitely recommend this item if you are thirsty or just want to kick back with a refreshing drink. =) Sweet Passion Tea with berry cubes.. yes! They have berries in their ice cubes.. gives it a nice touch! Since I just converted to the vegetarian lifestyle, I cannot try their meat sandwiches. However, I did try the vegetarian sandwich and it was legit! The store is clean and there is indoor and outdoor seating. It's a good place to sit and just catch up with friends. It isn't noisy like other places; definitely relaxed environment. I've seen both Tommy Ngo and Lynda Trang Dai here, which is a bonus because I loved listening to their music when I was growing up. I wish them the best with their new business and I'll definitely refer my friends and families to this place. =)

We always go for the grilled pork Banh Mi, with no onions and extra peppers. Today we added the Shu Mai (sp?), with bread on the side. Awesomeness. With Lee's Sandwiches just next door, this place has to offer something more than just great Banh Mi, and they certainly do. For about $10-15 for two people and enjoying every bite, we try to get here at least once a month. Bypass Lee's and give this place a try, and you too will be a convert! Also, the dude by the door playing the keyboard (some days) added a cool vibe. Check out the wall of fame, which covers the Who's Who of the Vietnamese community, all fans of Lynda!

Grilled shredded chicken banh mi was good but a little short on chicken. BBQ pork banh mi tasted different than other bbq pork I've had but it was good. A few pieces were just solid pieces of fat though.

Does fat constitute as meat? If so, then this sandwich is super meaty. This place reminds me of the rise and fall of Planet Hollywood. In the end if you like old trendy asian people and extremely fatty meats, then go here.

There are many sandwich places in the Westminster area, but I have yet to see a place give as much attention to detail as this place. I've been going here for a couple of years now and their quality has not changed. If you order a sandwich here, just take a moment and open it up. You'll find that every inch of the bread has been carefully spread with the famous garlic aioli sauce. Famous, I found out, because the owner, Lynda, is a popular Vietnamese singer. The sandwich will also be perfectly lined with meat, ensuring that you have a bit of meat with every bite. Whether you order one sandwich or twenty, each one of those sandwiches will have the same attention to detail. This is very different from the other sandwich places in Westminster because other places usually just squirt sauce onto the bread and throw meat in, giving you very inconsistent and uneven sandwiches. For a Viet sandwich, they are slightly pricier but take a step back and realize that you are asking for a 10 inch sandwich made better than the ~$3 sloppy sandwiches from Lee's and taste much much better than Subway. These sandwiches won't cut the roof of your mouth or force you to chew like you bit off a mouthful of beef jerky. In fact, if you take a look at the meat, you'll notice that its ACTUAL MEAT. not the super processed meat you find everywhere else. Lastly, another reason to come here is for the beignets (pronounced like "ben-yay"). As some of the newspaper clippings hung up will inform you, these beignets are very well made and very well executed. Although some may not be able to tell the difference between donuts and beignets, or between frozen dough and fresh dough, I can assure you that these beignets taste extraordinary. Other places use frozen dough and fry them in the same oil as their egg rolls and chicken wings (Lee's...) but these guys A). Make the dough FRESH EVERY DAMN DAY and B). fry the dough in its own fryer! What this produces is a pastry that is exactly between the texture of fresh baked bread and a donut. Beignets have a large air pocket in the middle but are also made of slightly chewy, slightly flaky dough. covered in powdered sugar and condensed milk, the Original Beignets are the perfect accompaniment to their strong coffee.

Nice place, Banh mi very good, number 1. The Beiget and the passion fruit drink was good but Lycee and yougurt drink was not that great. I didn't like the che either. But must try Banh mi, best sandwich in town!!!

  • Ben W.

The Good: I've been eyeing this place every since I started looking for beignets close to home, but I'm soooo lazy that I never wanted to drive here. Well my dealership is a block away and while I was chilling in the waiting area I pulled up my good old Yelp app and saw that this place was .2 miles away. I jumped up and started walking over. I really just wanted to have some beignets but I was so hungry because I didn't eat anything so far I also ordered a bbq pork banh mi and a order of the classic power sugar beignets. The banh mi was really good, it kind of surprised me. They didn't put mayonnaise in it (I'm anti-mayonnaise), but I believe I saw butter and bits of garlic that made me fall in love. I thought I was ordering 1 beignet that would be donut size but it was a huge order of smaller triangle sized ones. Fresh out of the fryer they are made to order and came out hot and oh so delicious. Way too many for me to eat and I was starved, but I managed to eat about half. When I left I had to take the leftovers home and the guy at the counter said that he was actually impressed by how many I ate(not sure if that was a fat joke). Great service and it looks like they remodeled the place, it's hip/trendy paint job decor. The Bad: Way too many beignets. I don't know if I should complain about this but I would love to see a smaller portion at a lower price. The Ben: Scratch another place off my long list of bookmarks. This will be my go to place when ever I take my car to get service. Solid food and service. Don't tell anybody but the female clientele and employees are pretty cute. Totally worth grabbing some tea/coffee and people watch.

After hearing this place is owned by Lynda Trang Dai my sister and I wanted to give this spot a try. The decor is simple and nice. Very orange and brown. One side of the wall is fill with signed autograph of other Vietnamese celebrities. The shop itself is pretty small. Adequate seating indoor and outdoor though. Now to the food. As a big lover of sandwiches, it was a must for us to order banh mi. So we ended up getting the Lynda Special, BBQ Pork and Beef. The Sandwiches are typical. I must admit, it is a bit different than Lee's or other banh mi places. But not so much to distinguish itself as better. We also had the beignets. Now those are really good. You have the option of cinnamon, powder sugar and I think there's a third choice. And as strips or triangles. Definitely get these! My sister also had the passionfruit tea and that is tasty as well. We were expecting passionfruit tea syrup, but it is sweet tea and real fruit pieces! Service was great, but a bit slow. So if you are in a rush maybe this wouldn't be a good place to stop by.

The staff is super friendly and this place doesn't seem like the typical vietnamese cafe/sandwich shop. It has a nice set up and looks like a cool place to hang out. They have different items on their menu including their very own beniets, mochis, Vietnamese sandwiches, shaved ice and java jellos. Here's what I got to try: Lychee ice tea - it's refreshing and sweet enough. I like it not bad. Tastes kids like any other lychee drink you would get anywhere else...can't go wring with that! Passion ice tea - now this I like more...this is their exclusive drink! I love it it's sweet an tasty! The drink will have ice cubes that has fruits in them which I think is a nice touch! Lynda Special sandwich - just the right amount of spice for me and I love the amount of aioli they put in! Yum! Very tasty sandwich!! I'd definitely come back!

So, I have been craving some beignets lately. I was going to make my own, since good beignets are hard to find around here, but a big pot of bubbling, hot oil? That sounds like a shortcut to the emergency room for me. So, I decided to go on another quest for beignets. The beignets here were amazing, way better than I had expected! You can get them in strips or triangles and they come in 3 variations: powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, and I think honey-glazed. I went with the triangles in powdered sugar. They smelled so good, I had to help myself to a few during the red lights on the way back. I was actually hoping to hit the red lights because that was how good they were! They were slightly crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. They were hot and fresh! The price was also good. For about $4, you can get a whole basket of them, definitely good for sharing. Service was also good. So, I got some good beignets and I get to keep my fingers. Yep, a good day!

I came here to grab a bahn mi pre-surfing and although it was good and meaty I felt it was a bit on the expensive side for the area that we are in. When we are in an area where you can get on the cheap, 3 bahn mi's for $5 or other house special dac biets for $2.75 each, I felt this place was over priced for what they were serving. On to the next one...

The feel of it: This place is spacious and comfortable to just hang out and do some reading or writing. It's not loud and the staff is very friendly. There are also outdoor tables and seats if you choose to enjoy the fresh air. Meanwhile, the seating inside consists of some small tables and small sofa seats--perfect for you to feel like home. The decor is different from your average Vietnamese Sandwich place. There's some artwork along the biggest wall and another wall has around 40+ portraits of Vietnamese celebrities. The taste of it: They're known for their Lynda Sandwich, banh mi dac biet. It's not a "WOW" sandwich, but it's good. I've also tried their banh mi ga, chicken sandwich. This was alright as well. To me, both sandwiches are missing something--that extra UMPH! Drinks range from hot tea, ice tea, coffee and smoothies--all very refreshing! Service: The staff as I've stated before are welcoming. They are also knowledgeable of what to recommend to you if you are unsure of what to get. The food is packaged up nicely with napkins and a bag if you choose to take it to-go. Overall: I recommend this place if you need some time to relax or get some work done!

I drove by one day and saw a sandwich place...thinking....WTH why would they do that...since Lee's is in the same plaza. I did see people there, and thought...hmmm,.....one day I'll have to make time to stop by Well my co workers got it...and it was soooooooooooooooo dam good! The baguette is to die for. I had a banh mi ga....and the nexy day we are like...what else can we get from there because their baguette is so good. we got bo kho...but it was to go...so maybe that's why it wasn't as good? I'm not sure... But the bo kho was okay. Nothing to die over for. It was the bread that made us continue to eat it. All i could think about is what else could i dip that baguette bread in...like Curry! YUM!

Came here for lunch with the fiancee. I ordered the Lynda's Special and she ordered the BBQ pork sandwich. We traded halves so we each got to try both, since it was our first time there. Bread was good, still nice & soft (as French rolls tend to harden if they're not fresh). The Lynda's Special was nice. The 'special mayo' wasn't bad, but if you're trying to eat healthy, scrape some of it off because #1 they heap it on and #2 I'm pretty sure its mayo & lard (as Asians often use). The BBQ pork was ok. The meat was a little dry, but the overall flavor was good. The veggies in both could've been a little bit fresher. I also like real jalapenos & the ones in their sandwiches didn't really add much heat or flavor. $6.50 for 2 sandwiches isn't bad at all. However, its Westminster & you can get 3 for $5 in various other places & the quality is similar. They may not have as much meat, but the flavors are just as good or better, the veggies are fresher, pickled veggies add more, & the jalapenos are spicier.

We've been looking for a great vietnamese banh mi shop for awhile now and Lynda Sandwich is it. Their grilled pork banh mi is the best around. Tasty meat with fresh ingredients that really bring the food to life. It feels lite, even though the grilled pork is probably doing a number on your arteries :) A major bonus is that the food is inexpensive and plentiful. We also got an order of beignets and it was more then enough for two people. Lynda sandwich has modern decor with friendly employees that appear to enjoy themselves. We would easily recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a great banh mi fix. It's our favorite in the O.C. We think Lynda's is going to be our new pit stop before our trips out of LAX or LBG. Check them out!

Better than other Vietnamese sandwich places because of the sauce so make sure to order a #1 special with extra Lynda sauce.

Not bad, not bad! Came here for the first time a couple weeks ago. Didn't think too much of it but we were in the area the following week and decided to give it another go. We had the thit nuong (grilled pork) and the chicken banh mi. Both were $3.25 each. It's a bit pricier than usual considering you can go to Banh Mi Che Cali down the street and get 3 for $5. It's worth it though, the meat is nicely seasoned and the bread is buttery delicious. Chicken and grilled pork were moist and juicy, unlike most places where it's dry and tasteless. I even saved half of my chicken sandwich to take to work at night and it was still scrumptious hours later! I wouldn't recommend the dac biet banh mi ($3.75) as much as the chicken or grilled pork, as it's not as flavorful as the others. The restaurant itself is pretty cute too - great place to have a casual lunch without paying very much.

I have to be honest: I was more than a little skeptical of how good the sandwiches would be here because it was owned by Vietnamese pop stars. I thought, "What would they know about making good food?" Besides that, I didn't think anything can beat Top Baguette's sandwiches. But a persnickety aunt recommended the place, saying that she really liked their bread and garlic mayonaise sauce, so I decided it might be worth a try. Boy, am I glad I did. This place is pretty nice with lots of tables/seating and free WIFI. However, the layout of the menu really leaves much to be desired. It really helps if there are pictures of the menu items, which this place does not have. The menu board just looks like a jumbled mess and it's difficult to know what to order. I asked the server what he recommended and he said the BBQ beef or the Chicken Sausage sandwich with an iced coffee with milk. I decided to go with the chicken sausage sandwich because it sounded interesting. The coffee ... blah. I had muuuuch better (Gala Bakery on Bolsa and Moran). The sandwich, however, was delicious. At first glance, it looks simple: Baguette filled with seasoned mayo, chicken sausage, cilantro, daikon and jalepeno peppers. But I was sold after just one bite. The bread was very soft yet chewy (a certain texture I haven't experienced at any other Vietnamese sandwich joint (trust, me I've tried nearly all of 'em). The chicken sausage was juicy and nicely seasoned. The garlic mayo -- wow (just be prepared to rinse your mouth afterward, unless you wanna reek of garlic). Overall, I thought the sandwich was excellent. I rated this place a '4' because the coffee wasn't great, the service could have been a lot faster, and I don't think there is a reason why the prices have to be that much more than many other sandwich shops - specifically Top Baguette. I think that Lynda Sandwich and Top Baguette taste very different yet are equal in quality and deliciousness. I recommend this place and will be returning, yet there are certain things that make Top Baguette my top choice.

I was just there on Sunday, 2/26, and the service was lousy! I ordered my sandwich to go, and instead of asking for my name to put on the receipt... the immature punk put "short person" as my customer name. So very rude and offensive! There was not a manager onsite for me to complain so I just left, but I will NOT be coming back! I've attached a photo so everyone can see.

Quality + Quantity I ordered the Banh Mi Dac Biet (Lynda Special) and Banh Mi Ga (Chicken Sandwich) which I split with my mother. The major problem I found with the Banh Mi was meat and mayonnaise. In my opinion, the meat had too much fat. (I do understand that some people enjoy the fat though). The next big problem was the fact that there was too much mayonnaise. In fact, I felt like I was eating a mayonnaise sandwich. It was, to say the least, slightly overwhelming. It was also a little too pricey for the size of the sandwich. Service + Cleanliness + Ambiance The first thing I noticed when I came was the fact that most of the tables had NOT been cleaned up despite the fact that there are no tables left to sit in. At first, I thought it was because the customers had just left. However, the tables were still not cleaned up after I ordered my food despite the fact that I had waited for more than 5 minutes in line (a line which, I'd like to add, was only 3 people long). I had to pick up some of the trays myself, move it over, and wipe the table down myself. They did make a mistake with my order and forget to take out the vegetables, but I don't mind because they immediately apologized when I told them and took it back in to fix. The atmosphere was okay. It was a little too noisy, but that's expected in a small sandwich shop with so many people in it. Overall, I'd come back again to give it another shot if I was in the neighborhood, but I think I'll stick with Boulangerie Pierre &Patisserie as my go to banh mi place.

Banh Mi Thit Nuong please. The sandwiches take AT LEAST 15 minutes. I could have taken a nap during that time. Although the sandwiches are good and fresh, the quality and satisfaction decreases with time. The sandwich itself did resolve around the mayonnaise goodness. The thit nuong itself was tender and meaty rather than the fatty kind. Overall, I would come back again. Would be more excited if they increased their efficiency. The prices are also decent (~$2.50 each).

This review is based on my experience as a first time customer over the past weekend (June 9, 2012). I found this place through four friends who recommended I must try this place. The customer services was great and friendly. The ambiance is relaxing. You can choose to sit outside or indoor. It's a nice place to hang out with your friends and relax. The place is clean and nice. Very "orange". I had the egg and Chinese sausage sandwich and Vietnamese yogurt smoothie, both were super delicious. The Vietnamese yogurt , if you never tried it before, I recommend you to try, but won't guarantee you will like it. I'm Vietnamese, and grow up with it, so I love the "flavor". My friend had Lynda's special, I tried it, it was ok, I still like mine better. But of course the Lynda's special is one of the most popular but it isn't my taste at the time. If you never have Vietnamese sandwich before and you can't eat spicy, you can opt out the jalapeno pepper by request or simply pick it out, your choice. They offers other variety of Vietnamese dishes here beside "banh mi" (Vietnamese sandwich). I haven't yet to try it, but I will on my next returns. The parking here can be crowded but it's a big parking lot so you can 99% of the times find a parking. I will definitely be back here again and try others vietnamese sandwiches they offers.

We love Lynda Sandwich. This was our favourite little sandwich shop that we would frequent at LEAST twice a week, because the service and food used to be so great. Lately, the Banh Mi Thit Nuong meat portions has been a lot less than in the beginning (probably to make more revenue, but still, we are basing our judgment from quality & quantity). We still go at least twice a week... we actually went today & yesterday... :) (Yesterday we ordered the Bo Kho... and we didn't like it... but the Thit Nuong is amazing... and has a flavour unlike any other sandwich shop, that is definitely what we recommend from here: Banh Mi Thit Nuong) Another thing that really drew us to Lynda Sandwich was the amazing array of vegetables that they put on their sandwiches. They used to give us a LOT of veggies (we ALWAYS ask for extra veggies on the side) and now the portions for the veggies are really dwindling. We also used to never have to pay for extra vegetables (it's a $1.00 charge now) and even though we certainly do not mind paying for them, even when we pay an extra dollar now, they give us even less extra veggies in the bag than when we didn't have to pay for them! That just doesn't add up for us, no matter what way we look at it... That aside, the ambiance of the place is nice. The patio with the Christmas-lights is quaint and quiet... the inside has a mural on the wall with a photo of The Beatles (which is an automatic plus for us) and automatically makes the place worth at least 3 stars. The bathroom is quite cute with stars painted everywhere, and even a star cut-out of the toilet lid. All the photos of the Vietnamese singers on the wall adds a nice touch too. And all the signatures of all the Vietnamese pop stars on the ground gives a nice, Hollywood-like feel to it. We still frequent this place very often, but with high hopes that the portion-sizes will go back to normal... especially the vegetables! A good amount of vegetables is what makes banh mi so great! That's what we think anyway! :) Definitely recommend the Banh Mi Thit Nuong (with extra vegetable)!

Honestly, I just came here because I wanted to check out the store that was owned by Lynda Trang Dai. Any Vietnamese person with parents that have watched Paris by Night should know who Lynda Trang Dai is. Sadly, she was not there when my friends and I came in, but Tommy Ngo (Another PBN legend and Lynda's husband) was. He was really friendly and surprisingly easy to talk to. Anyway, back to the main reason for Yelp reviews; the food. I ordered the Banh Mi Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork) and a lychee iced tea. The sandwich was really good, though I still prefer having sandwiches in a french roll instead of the baguette, but the bread still came out pretty soft, so I can't complain. The lychee iced tea was really good too, but I'm always a sucker for lychee flavored drinks...

The beignets are probably the best things about this place. I wish they were bigger though! They have different varieties of beignets, which is cool. I only like one sandwich and that's the BBQ Chicken sandwich. Most stores their "special combo" sandwiches are good, but this place? No. Sandwiches are also pretty pricey... $3.75 for a sandwich that's pretty small in my opinion. Cute little store though, and the service is good. My stars are for the beignets though.

Ever since Magnolia st. has been undergoing construction near Bolsa... Why would you ever do construction near bolsa... that's like Little Saigon's 405 freeway... Anyway, since the traffic can be killer going 1 mile to my favorite, Top Baguette, I've been stopping by here per Michael P's recommendation. Sandwiches are quite good. Have yet to try more than one sandwich. The banh mi cha is quite enjoyable. Iced coffee, sadly, was mostly ice. I found it oddly nostalgic to see all the Vietnamese pop star pictures on the walls. I was able to recall seeing some of the faces on the Vietnamese programs my parents used to watch. I'm always the youngest customer present. Does this place not appeal to the youth?

Been wanting to try this place for a while now from the reviews I heard on their tea, and what better day to try it then on a hot summers day. Got the Iced lychee: $2.95 in total, no tax. If you like lychee, you'll love this. It's jam packed with that taste. Not so much my taste, but my sister loved it, so there's my review.

Was in the neighborhood getting some chinese food and i remembered seeing a review about this place. - i cant say much since i only came here to get some beignets. Food: like i said above. i can say damn were they good. i cant wait go back and try their other flavors. they have original, which is powdered sugar, cinnamon, and honey glazed. i got the original and damn was it good. the total cost was 3.95 no tax from what i remember. and for just about 4 dollars you get about 20-25 pieces. thats one hell of a deal to me. Service: the service here is great. they have two teenagers working here so thats good keepig it hip XD. they are both very helpful too. since im new to the place they answered and helped me in every way possible Location: i like the location. its right next to hong kong express so i after im eating there i can hop on over and help myself to some dessert

The boyfriend and i stopped by here on a spontaneous whim because we planned to go to the nearby marketplace. Decor inside: interesting, entertaining to the eye. Decor outside: cute, and pleasant on a better so-cal weather day Service: average, just a normal -look up, read the menu so we can take your order- sort of thing We both had the pulled pork sandwiches + an iced coffee. I have to say, that the sandwiches were yummy. The boyfriend is always raving how he's craving Lee's sandwiches, but me...eh not so much. Not that i think its awful or anything, but eh..not something i'd go out of the way for. The sandwiches here, however are not omg orgasimically mindblowing buuut...yea...yea i can see myself coming back to order one of these. I'd order this particular yummy sandwich and eat it outside in their patio on a sunny spring day whilst reading a book just because it sounds like it would be a pleasant way of spending 30min to an hour on a saturday or sunday.

Mainly the Viet sub sandwhiches here are decent and affordable for a quick lunch stop. They have all the traditional viet subs and other dishes too on the menu, but my mf and I usually get the Chicken and the Lynda Special with all kinds of meats(grilled pork. pork loaf, & chicken) with all the cilantro, pickeled veggies(julienned carrots and jicama root) and jalepeno slices. The meats are flavorful and have a nice balance of texture and mesh well with the veggies. The bread is pretty good too, crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, with a buttery taste, just not freshly baked & hot out-of-the oven like some places. The staff is freindly, but iffy...young high school or college students who had no clue whether the desserts in the glass counter fridge were still good to sell or not. One server asked another & he opened up the lid and sniffed the one dessert cup that my daughter wanted. Yeah, not a good idea to get the che desserts here unless you have a strong stomach and are willing to risk getting your stomach pumped. Just stick with the sandwhiches here and you'll be happily fed.

They don't know what the meaning of BBQ chicken is or what it's supposed to look like. I ordered two BBQ chicken sandwiches and got some kind of shredded chicken. If they don't have such a thing they should tell us they don't have it instead of giving us any kind of chicken. Never coming here again! There are many other sandwich places that taste better and give you what you want!!

Love the food, and vibe of the place. I come by often for a cup of freshly made Vietnamese coffee. the chairs and couches are nice and comfy a good spot to just kick back and do some reading. The workers are very nice and friendly. This is my goto for banh mi.

This is probably the most dressed up Vietnamese sandwich place I've ever been to. Mad photos of people irrelevant to me are posted on every inch of the wall. It's like walking into a shrine dedicated to Vietnamese celebs. Somewhat overwhelming but overall, entertaining. The sandys are actually pretty good, yet slightly overpriced. I don't mind it since employees actually seem to be on the road to earning the title of "sandwich artist." Things aren't so sloppily thrown together and the taste is there. I typically go with the scrambled egg sandy with all the trimmings. Tasty and filling. The garlic spread is damn good, too much for some, but a very nice touch nonetheless. At $3-4, it's a good alternative to what one would normally get at Lee's or elsewhere. The beignets look amazing but I have yet to wade in those dangerous waters. I think I could probably eat at least a dozen of those in one sitting without coming up for air. One huge negative for me - I believe it's a one dollar penalty fee for using your card for a purchase under $10 or something like that. I nearly shat myself at the register when I got caught with this one. Surprise, surprise.

I drove all the way from Cerritos to Westminster just to check this sandwich place out. I got there and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised. The place is small-ish, clean, hip and nicely decorated. The vibe kinda reminded me of a cafe in Prague, minus the Czech patrons, smoking, drinking and eating at the same time. The counter servers are all young, hip, English speaking Viet-Am teenagers. They are very friendly and pleasant to the customers. Now for the sandwiches.... I ordered 3 subs, The Lynda special, grilled pork and grilled shrimp. The Lynda special - has bbq pork, tuna (pork and tuna..I know right?), veggie relish. $3.75. It was good, talk about a keliedescope of mystery flavors in your mouth in every bite. Grilled pork - $3.25 - it was okay, not much pork filling. Now the grilled shrimp sub - $3.95, I thought I was given the wrong order as I did not see a single shrimp in the sub. I went back to the counter and told them that I was given the wrong sandwich. The counter girl explained that it's actually a shrimp loaf/pate, sliced thinly. Oh okay, no problem it was a bit confusing for me since I was thinking of "whole grilled shrimp", you know kinda like bbq shrimp skewered together minus the bamboo skewer. The sandwiches were good. However, I find the subs to be smaller in size compared to other Banh Mi places. I also find the prices to be high for what you get. Plenty of parking. IMO: acceptable, not bad but not great either. Good place to go for snacks.

Honestly, this is as good as it gets for Vietnamese sandwiches. Amazing place that you have to try! Initial impression: As you walk into the store you'll notice the sheer trendy atmosphere and the wonderful collage of photos on the west wall. The place is clearly owned by a the well established singers, Tommy Ngo and Lynda Trang Dai. Food: The food is served thoughtfully on orange platters which resmeble the Paris by night theme. Soup which I purchased was warm but not cold and the temperature was just right. The food had a specific taste to it, which made it distinct from all the other "Ban Mi" restruants around Garden Grove. The food had a nice bite to it with a unique sauce which Lynda uses in all her sandwiches. Beverages: The drinks are amazingly refreshing and were served with garnish which complimented the teas. The iced coffee was bold but not too overwhelming and well balanced with the condensed milk. Would I recommend this place to a friend? YES YES YES YES YES! If you're in the Garden Grove area YOU MUST try this place! If you're lucky you might even bump into Tommy or Lynda! :-) Recommended Sandwich - Lynda's special

I don't know, there are so many places that serve banh mi. This place is pretty chic and nice and has decent prices but it's just ok. Not great. Yeah sure it's better than Lee's Sandwich shop but every Vietnamese place that makes banh mi is better than Lee's.

My first impression of this place was lukewarm because of the cold/unfriendly attitude of their front-line staff/order takers. It was late on a slow Sunday afternoon, and we were the only ones in line. There were two cashiers in the reception area, one was talking with the another staff member, and the other was idly fiddling with his cash register without even looking up to spare us a smile or to acknowledge our presence. After standing there waiting and being totally ignored for a while, I had to speak up with our order. So, case in point: please look up and smile at your incoming customers to acknowledge their existence, especially when they're just right in front of you waiting for your "smile." Don't pretend to be busy just for the sake of ignoring us. Now, as for the food - Lynda's sandwiches are above average with all the right stuff. Their prices are a bit higher than the other surrounding Vietnamese banh mi places, but different strokes for different folks. Their ambience is quite cozy with a mixture of Vietnamese Hollywood and new age décor. It's a very comfortable place to be lounging around, especially with free wifi, when it's not too busy or crowded. Not sure if this is a repeat choice for me due to their lack of courteous service.

I have been here a bunch of times on my way to work on Saturdays. I always get the Banh mi dac biet/Lynda special. It has all the Vietnamese meats, pate, pickled veggies, and mayo. All the flavors work well together and the baguette is really good. The place is clean and is nice to dine in or sit outside. The staff is really nice and the owners are really cool. I think I have seen Lynda on TV a few times. I would probably give the place 4 stars only because it isn't my favorite place. This is not to discredit their banh mi, it is really good. it is because I think banh mi is like pho...everyone has their favorite place. The reason I give it 5 stars is because before they were officially open for business I was shopping at the market in the same plaza, noticed the sign, and like a good Yelper, thought I would check it out. They were still working out the operation side and training staff but welcomed me in and had me try the sandwich and ca phe su da. On top of that, they gave it to me for free. That was awesome! It turned me into a loyal customer and I tell people about them all the time. Thanks Lynda and company! I hope you do well!

I love this place. Everytime I come down to Westminster I have to stop by here. I had stopped by here couple times and meet Lyda and Tommy. They are really nice couple. I love the Banh Mi Special. Its the best I've ever had. I wish they were in Sacramento.

I am not a sweet tooth person, but I am a sucker for try what is top in any food catergory out there. Donut is one of them. I have had donuts from many shops that are on the top list in OC. None of them that I would go back for more. Since I was in the strip mall where Lynda Sandwich was located, I wanted to check it. Usually I have a taste and share the rest with others. By the time I get to Peet's at Bella Terra for my coffee break, I devoured the whole bag of those mini beignets while driving. The beignets are so good!!!! I have been fighting the urge to come back to get more. I don't want to gain weight. I justify it with, "I will exercise tomorrow." Have not had their sandwiches, but my sister said they are good, and she preferred them over other places.

Yummy ! Came here w/ Dorothy L. per her suggestion ! Beef sandwich was great and only $3.55. The beignets are awesome and they give you plenty to share (thank you Dorothy L. for sharing them with us). It was Brett O and my first time here, I'm sure we will be coming back. Atmosphere is cool and trendy.

I'm ashamed to say that until now, I haven't had banh mi at anywhere other than Lee's Sandwiches. That's because my banh mi radar is crippled by white-girlness. Luckily, I live close to Westminster and Garden Grove and there are an abundance of good places nearby just waiting for me to try them (will my quest for foodstuffs never be satisfied?!) So when I learned about Lynda Sandwich, I was beyond excited, and when I finally did go there, OH YUM. Way, way, WAY better than Lee's Sandwiches, which isn't perhaps hard to do, but I thought I liked those sandwiches at Lee's...that is, until I had something that is so obviously superior (and by a lot). For starters, the baguettes that they use are INCREDIBLY fresh--I'm not a big fan of bread (to me, it's just filthy prison food), but the smell and the airiness of these baguettes paired with their perfect crusty crunch won even me over. Being a new comer, I of course ordered the Lynda Special. I have learned that whatever the shop's special is is usually the sandwich that has the most good stuff on it (afterall, it wouldn't be "special" for no reason, right?) What a fine choice that was--the meats were so fresh and creamy, there was just the right amount of mayonnaise, and there were tons of nice, fresh vegetables and pickles that weren't that sour, just FANTASTIC. My only complaint is that I like to be able to taste my jalapenos on my sandwich (I really like the heat), but these jalapenos bordered on mild ones and could barely be detected. Somehow, though, this was just what the sandwich needed because the other ingredients were so perfect, it might have been sad to overpower them. Yes, I think that's it. Therefore, the Lynda Special is perfection. Hubby got the barbequed pork sandwich, which to me, can be really hit or miss (that's why I never order it at a banh mi shop!) but he was feeling brave, and his courageousness paid off--another fine sandwich was had! Instead of being that gross, pink, over-sugared pork that is sometimes used, this was more of a mildly seasoned pulled pork--huh! And again, it was complimented by sublime bread and just the right amount of crunch and contrast from veggies and pickles. Best yet, these sandwiches were like, the size of my forearm. I'm a short little monster, but I have a mighty forearm--so it was a manly, meaty sandwich to be sure. And who's saying this place is expensive?! Any haters in regards to price should probably re-evaluate how they're spending their money because if you can get a sandwich at Lynda's with all the great stuff on it I described for around $4, wouldn't you do that?! Oh yeah, and that's another way that Lynda's is much better than Lee's--Lynda takes plastic! (I'm so over Lee's and their "cash only" policy). And there are so many other good things at Lynda Sandwich that I do need to return to try--lots of noodle dishes! Beignets! Smoothies! Coffee! Tea! Chinese sausages for sale! What's there not to like? Besides this, it's a very nice cafe, but crowded, even early lunch time on the weekend. There's a nice outdoor patio for seating, plus lots of cozy areas to lounge inside. The restaurant is sleek, nicely decorated, trendy, and fun--like what Starbucks wishes it could be. Also, the staff is very nice, too. As other reviewers have mentioned, there IS quite a long wait to get your food--you order at the counter initially, but then it could be a good 20 minutes (like it was for us) to get your take-out order or have them bring your lunch to your table. This could be because people seem to come in in groups and then just hang out lingering over coffee for a long time. However, this makes it very communal and relaxing. And oh yeah! Get their lychee green tea! I love iced teas, but I don't always want the surypy teas that are loaded with fake flavorings and sweeteners like you normally find at a boba tea place. This tea was way better than that--it was freshly brewed, didn't have fake lychee flavoring (it actually tasted like the real thing!) and had nice slices of lemon in it for a surprisingly zesty, citrusy flavor--it was a tea sensation and really woke you up and refreshed you. So Lynda, just know that you've created a sandwich star in the image of the star you are--thanks for opening my eyes to what real banh mi is really all about.

I am always craving banh mi and am always eager to try new places out. I recently heard that Lynda Trang Dai (LTD) has opened her own banh mi shop. I was eager to try, as I also heard that she makes her own homemade garlic mayo. I ordered 2 Banh Mi Dac Biet (aka Lynda Special), chicken banh mi, and an order of beignets. My mom really liked her Banh Mi Dac Biet. She thought it was interesting twist to add chicken to the Dac Biet. My mom's thumbs up really says a lot, as she is usally picky with her banh mi and like to stick to Vietnamese OG places, like Banh Mi Cali. As for me, I wished that I tried the Banh Mi Dac Biet. I thought my chicken was good, but I had better. The chicken itself was not as flavorful as other places (ie: Tip Top and Top Baguette). The flavor was really in the garlic mayo. And the banh mi did not have a lot of veggies. I am a veggies girl. BUT the bread itself was fantastic and that was what sold me. The bread wasn't hard and it was the right crispy, fresh, perfect texture. Overall, the store is very clean and fun. LTD herself was very nice and the workers there had a great customer service. I want to add that I called the shop because I was lost and LTD herself offered to stand in front of her shop to wait for me. That was nice of her. I would definitely go back and try out her Lynda Sandwich, with extra veggies of course. Tip #1: you have to spend a $10 minimum if you're going to use your credit card So overall, 3.5 stars for the food and extra .5 star for the good customer service.

An update review eh? Let me explain. I was here recently with a friend from out of town and we ordered a banh mi ga (chicken) and dac biet (special). Only problem.. is our order took FOREVER. 10 mins later we got our order, and the owner (employee ?) profusely apologized. She said their sauce machine broke (the one that makes mayo? Couldn't you whip that up from scratch..?) and that was why everything took a while. She gave us two complimentary java jello cups (which really just seems like xuong xa (grass jelly) with espresso) on the house. Ok, granted the java jello was just 'okay' a Vietnamese place giving a complimentary ANYTHING for inconvenience? Now that's a miracle.

I was a little skeptical at first, knowing this cafe was owned by famous Vietnamese popstars Lynda Trang Dai and her husband Tommy Ngo, thinking it would be a celebrity endorsement without much else, but to my surprise the place really left a great impression! The decor of the place is modern and trendy, the walls adorned with photos of vietnamese celebrities, to add a touch of vietnames flare! =) There's lots of places to sit throughout the cafe and outside seating as well. The menu here is simple with a variety of banh mi (vietnamese sandwiches) and a few special items like bo kho (vietnamese stew). The sandwiches here are probably one of the best I've had. They are packing a lot of flavor and there's some sort of special spread that makes it better than all the others in town. For $2.75 a sandwich, tax included, I think it's a great deal!! The best option here is probably the grilled pork sandwich. They also have something that is sometimes hard to come by and those are beignets! They were actually really really good! They're not oily or soggy like you'd think they would be and the powdered sugar is just the right amount of sweetness. The passion fruit ice tea is also good here. Not too sweet and it even comes with ice cubes with berries frozen inside ... fancy for a vietnamese joint ... right? =) Love this place!

I'm going to keep this straight to the point... Pros: 1. Great unique twist to the traditional banh mi sandwich. Love that Lynda adds chicken to the special sandwich. 2. I love Lynda's house made garlic mayo aoli. Its not the typical mayo that you would get from other banh mi shops. 3. Their pickled veggies taste fresh and are not overly vinegary...they certainly don't overwhelm and take over the flavoring like some of the other sandwich shops. 3. They have beignets!!! Generous portions for $3.50. 4. Tasty flavored ice tea. Love their passion fruit ice tea Cons: 1. price is a little high which I probably wouldn't mind so much if they werent so skimpy on the meat/filling. I always ask for extra veggies to help bulk of the sandwich a little bit in order to feel like i'm getting my money's worth. 2. I'll say again that I love their house-made mayo, its pretty damn good. However on one particular occasion they must not have gotten their egg to oil ratio or consistency right because as soon as I sat down to eat my sandwich, the mayo had already separated into this oily dripping mess. Maybe they were having an off day. 3. I ordered the veggies sandwich to go for a vegan friend and I asked the guy at the register TWICE to confirm that this is a VEGAN sandwich and both times he nodded yes. Unfortunately he must not have understood what VEGAN is because when I handed that sandwich over to my friend, turns out they put that disasterly drippy mayo in it (egg and oil was separating)....now if my pal was vegetarian he probably wouldn't mind so much. but he's vegan. Needless to say it was a vegan fail. Every other vietnamese sandwich shops I've been to, their singular vegetarian offering in their sandwich menu has always made their veggie sandwhich 100% vegan which some soy-based sauce or vinaigrette. 4. They give you behemoth servings of beignets but they don't have takeout boxes?!? If you can imagine what a big mess honey glazed beignets would be to take home without a takeout box.... Conclusion: I do for the most part enjoy the food. I hope they are reading these reviews and take the constructive criticism from their clientele as a means to help them improve their business. All in all, I think this restaurant is heading in the right direction and to be really fair, its Lynda Trang Dai's first foray into the food service/restaurant business. I am impressed at what's she's done for herself...going from legendary viet popstar to restauranteur. I'm looking forward to bring the parentals here whenever they are in town...I'm sure they will be a bit star strucked

Lynda's is probably one of the best vietnamese sandwich places I've ever been to and I've been to a lot. After finding out about this place through my sister who lives in the midwest. I decided to stop in while I was in the OC. First impression left a lasting impression on my mind. The place was modern yet trendy and best of all, the owners are Tommy Ngo and Lynda Trang Dai (huge vietnamese pop singers) and they work the registers! After finding out about this place, I found myself stopping in every weekend to try something new but my favorite still remains their thit nuong - grilled pork sandwich and the beignets! I heard Lynda has some special mayo that she concocts and adds in each sandwich. The prices are very reasonable and everything includes tax. The items I'd suggest you trying are the following: *passion fruit ice tea - delicious and not so sweet ice tea w/ a hint of passion fruit flavoring. It comes with fruit infused ice cubes. * grilled pork sandwich - delicious!! delicious!! * beignets - so light and fluffy and not overly greasy! They taste like fluffy pillows of delicious fluffy dough. Good beignets are hard to find! Thankful that my search is over and I've found my place. * meatball sandwich - ask them to add the meatballs in the sandwich for you because it usually comes with a side of french bread and the meat swimming in some broth.

I was so excited to discover this place because they make beignet fresh to order. Sadly their beignet was just ok. I prefer mine traditional size. Theirs are like mini bites which affects the over-all taste. I also order their #1 Dac Biet sandwich special & BBQ pork sandwich. It's better then Lee's Sandwich but not as good as Banh Mi & Che Cali,

Kick ass sandwiches...how do they Make them for about $3?! family operation and owners are Usually there. Huge Wall of Vietnamese pop stars autographed pictures. Much better than Mr. Lee. Casual, nice place and clean. Can you be addicted? Think I am.

PARIS BY NIGHT! The minute you walk in you will realize really quick that this place is completely over done. Basically there are two main walls you'll be looking at... The one directly in front is some sort of memorial... haven't quite deciphered it yet. She has paintings of Michael Jackson, the beetles, Marilyn Monroe and so on... I'm not sure if the paintings are her musical inspiration or is she comparing herself to them. Either way... the décor is ridiculous. The wall to the left is a shrine of the great Lynda Trang Dai... enough said. She even went as far as to have stars on the ground. Let me remind you that this is a sandwich restaurant... which happens to be disguised as a Hollywood souvenir gift shop for some reason. After soaking in the ambiance... I finally gathered myself to order some food. I went the Lynda special (Banh Mi Dac Biet) and damn it took a long time for them to make my food. But then when the lady handed me my food I realized it was Lynda Trang Dai herself! She was like 20 years older than the pictures on the wall but you can still tell it was her... maybe overdone makeup and the glitter in the hair gave it away but I was star stuck (maybe not)! How can I be mad at living legend making my Banh Mi! For all I know she could have been in the back conjuring up another Paris by Night masterpiece. Honestly the food here is OK... there are plenty of Vietnamese sandwich shops that top this one... but for sure this one deserves a visit. It's around the corner from where I live so for sure I'll be back again.

2 stars due to the wait, you're not in and out like Lee's. It was just me and it took a good 15 minutes for my order. Also, there's no sign but it's a $10 minimum order to use your card. I wanted to check it out since I always pass it on my way to lee's but I highly doubt I'll come back. Sandwiches are better than Lee's main stream sandwiches. I got the Lynda Special (dac biet). You can taste the difference in the mayo, Lynda's uses a special mix they make. Iced coffee (cafe sua da) is NO BUENO! I prefer Lee's. They don't use crushed ice which I think makes a difference & they don't put enough condensed milk. Decor is nice, a little over board for a sandwich place..feels like I'm in a disco tech!

On Christmas night, I was driving to dinner with my family when I noticed a bright new sign in the plaza for "Lynda Sandwich." As a huge fan of banh mi, I immediately made up my mind to try this new joint the very next day. When I pulled up to the store around 2pm, I was surprised to see a whole crowd of people inside. Wow, business was already that great!? Well, I stepped up to the counter to place my order with an incredibly friendly gentleman who appeared to be the proprietor of Lynda Sandwich. After I made my order, he explained to me that their store was having its grand opening on Dec. 30, but I had happened to venture on a preparation day. They invited friends and family to try their sandwiches while giving their staff a chance to work out the kinks in their operations. Well, I sure was lucky enough for this exclusive preview of Little Saigon's newest Banh Mi joint. Quick description of the atmosphere: Very "pop culture" setting with a bright orange wall painted with celebrity silhouettes. Another wall is covered with Vietnamese celebrity portraits (I believe many were signed?). The furnishings have a very "coffee lounge" feel and overall, I was impressed by how upscale this place is compared to most eateries in Little Saigon. I kept it simple and ordered three things: 1) Banh Mi Dac Biet - Their combination sandwich consists of cured pork, ham, and shredded chicken over pate. I was especially impressed by the flavor of the shredded chicken, and the pate they used was much creamier than what you find at most Banh Mi eateries. The pickled daikon and carrots were thinly julienned and topped off with just the right amount of cilantro, jalapenos, and sweet mayo. 2) Banh Mi Trung Lap Chua - Fried Egg and Chinese Sausage - First thing I will mention here... the bread they use is fantastic. The shell is crunchy, but thin and easy to bite through. The insides are foamy, but chewy enough to be a true baguette. Overall - it had just the right amount of resistance, but was easy to chew and incredibly flavorful. I had to mention the bread with this sandwich because of how well it held up to the hot fried egg and sausage - I saved half of the sandwich for later, and even after a 45 minute car ride, the baguette did not turn soggy. Anyway... I'd never seen this combo at any other banh mi place before (or maybe never noticed) but this was exactly how I would imagine the ideal Asian breakfast sandwich. The fried egg was perfectly medium-well (no running yolk, but moist). The sausage they use is the sweet variety... I probably would have preferred a more spiced sausage to help it stand out, but it was tasty nonetheless. The rest of the fixins were exactly the same as the Dac Biet. 3) Ca Phe Sua Da - Their iced coffee was very tasty - unlike Lee's "famous" iced coffee, the espresso flavor is actually quite pronounced. There's plenty of milk and sugar, but in no way does it overpower the taste of the beans. Overall price for all this? $8.50 - hell yeah. Maybe not the cheapest in Little Saigon, but you are getting VERY good quality for your money. Well, I absolutely loved the sandwiches that I got from Lynda and I plan to come back the next time I'm in town. The real test will be how they execute once they swing into full operation... let's hope I haven't set our expectations too high!

My aunt told me about this sandwich place with good chicken sandwiches. I did not know that it was owned by the Vietnamese pop star, Lynda Trang Dai. How do I know this, because, growing up, all you see Vietnamese parents watching are Paris By Night tapes. When you first walk into the store, there is a huge wall painting on the pop star; also, on the other side of the wall, there are tons of pictures of other Vietnamese popstars. I guess those were my first hints. The pop-star was also there taking orders. The place is small but clean. I've only had the chicken sandwich. The chicken is breast meat and well flavored. Apparently, the big hype is the garlic mayo. However, I don't eat mayo, so I thought the sandwich would be pretty dry. To my astonishment, the chicken meat was well flavored and not at all dry. The sandwich is lacking in the vegetables though. I haven't ordered any other sandwiches. However, there always seems to be a steady flow of people. Everything is a little pricey though. The sandwiches are all at least $3, including the coffee. Some of the sandwiches and dishes can go up to $5-8. The OJ was $3. I could not believe it. It was good OJ, but still a little pricey. The bread itself does not seem to be made at the store. It is definitely not as fresh as places who make their own bread. But, at least the bread is not stale.

Only had the cinnamon sugar beignets, which were great but not mind blowing. I do love that they were made fresh and warm. But the problem with that was it took a while to make them apparently and you end up just sitting and waiting. I suck at waiting haha. The decor is definitely unique with lots of Vietnamese pop stars covering the wall. The interior is pretty small with only a few tables and chairs. It was pretty dead when I randomly decided to stop by on a late weekday afternoon - maybe it's busier during other times. Or a lot of people order food to take with them elsewhere.

is this my favorite banh mi place? quite possibly. now, i'm not vietnamese nor an expert at banh mi, but i AM someone that looooves food. so here's my take. ordered 2 banh mi to go: the grilled pork/thit nuong ($2.75) and the egg+chinese sausage/trung lap xuong ($3.75). SO FREAKIN' GOOD! i know it's not the cheapest, but it's pretty standard pricing and the quality is AMAZING. the bread is good, the grilled pork has an awesome marinade - not too sweet and nice and savory - it's really unique and good... and the egg sandwich is just yum - scrambled/fried egg with thin slices of chinese sausage and the usual banh mi toppings. Lynda's uses a special sauce./spread and it is good. i really really reallllllllly like the banh mi here and can't recommend it enough. i also got a cafe sua da - my addiction ($2.75) and a passion fruit iced tea ($2.95). The passion fruit iced tea is amazing. so good. it has a nice strong tea flavor, and isn't too sweet or fruity. it's perfection. the sua da, well.... i haven't tried it yet, because i'm saving it for an early morning drive tomorrow. but i just KNOW it's gonna be great. the service is amazing. they are SOOOO nice! apparently the owners are 2 vietnamese pop stars? the ambiance is nice, it's so clean and modern here.

Disclaimer, I am not Vietnamese. Stopped by for the first time today. Ordered a Cured Pork and a Fried Egg Sandwich. Asked what "cured pork" was, the young lady taking my order did could not give me a description, but said it was her "favorite sandwich". Ordered it to try it, turns out it's Chinese Sausage. The Sandwich was OK...it was hot. The baguette was less hard than Lee's so that's a plus. The decor is very modern and trendy, there's a mural with the Beatles, Marilyn Monroe, Michael Jackson etc. There's both indoor and outdoor seating. Bathroom is Unisexual, plus the door was not easy to close. Food service is not as fast and the price point is slightly higher than other Vietnamese Sandwich places. Ordered Ca Phe Sua Nong, Vietnamese Hot Milk Coffee was surprisingly good, much better than Lee's sandwich or any other place. WiFi is free.

One of my favorite lunch spots. I love their Bo Luc Lac and Salmon + Rice. Both are very savory and generous portions, balanced with salad on the side. The powdered beignets are my favorite go-to sit, snack and drink item. Definitely worth trying the Passion iced Tea, full of flavor, not watered down. They also freeze fruits in their ice cubes, makes it look so cool!

My banh mi pate cha, (an lien) was served cold! Banh Mi Thit Nuong (grilled pork) was so dry and tough, i thought i was eating jerky. Sorry Lynda, but I was greatly disappointed. Not coming back!

If you're looking for a sandwich that is just a tad more than mediocre, then this is the place. Similar to Banh Mi Cali and Lee's...difference is that the veggies are fresh and the seasoning from the mayo/butter spread and meat has a delish aroma. I ordered the grill shrimp sandwich. I have to say its tasty but its not filling. C'mon, for $3.75, I expect more veggies(cucumber and daikon carrots) and shrimp. Oh, and btw, its not "grill shrimp", it's more like very tender shrimp paste. The bread wasn't fresh...more like day old and stale. Sorry, I live in the area, so its very convenient for me if I want fresh bread. So, call me spoiled when I expect my peasant sandwich to be and taste fresh! $2.75 VN coffee was not too strong with just a hint of hazelnut. I like my coffee to taste creamier...so next time I'd ask for extra condense milk. I think for $1.50 for one mini red bean mochi ice cream is waaay pricey. For an extra dollah, I could get 6 mochi in a box at the store. I was accutely disappointed when he said they're not serving beignet that morning cause they were cleaning out the fryer in prep for Chinese New Year....whatever that means. Oh, they only take cash...for now. The cashier says they are working on installing a CC machine. He was very polite and decent looking. Service was pretty quick and not busy at all.

This place opened up just a few days ago and was already pretty busy when I walked in on a lazy, rainy Sunday afternooon. Apparently one of the original Vietnamese pop stars, Lynda Trang Dai, is the owner of this lil establishment, which explains the modern decor & pics of Vietnamese pop stars on the back wall. I had the Lynda Special (Dac Biet) and ordered the Grilled Pork for my BF. Prices were about what you would expect from a Banh Mi place, at about $3 a sandwich. The sandwiches were not bad. I also ordered some beignets, which were also something like $3 for a small basket. All-in-all, this place was pretty decent. A great alternative to the generic Lee's sandwiches, which is just across the parking lot.

Like walking through a video stream of "Paris By Night"...the place is decked out w/ Asian celebrity photos, paintings of famous past stars on the wall (i.e. The Beatles, Marilyn Monroe etc..) in an Orange/Black fashion. There are lounge chairs/tables to hang out and relax too. Enough with the past times of my parents old Vietnamese VHS music video concerts of "Paris By Night"....on to the real stuff...the hype of the FOOD! BBQ Pork Sandwich: - Pork was good...not dry - Bread was pretty good, but the one I had wasn't fresh, I can tell it was an older piece of bread - Garlic Mayo (the hype) was what made the sandwich I must say. If it wasn't in it...this sandwich would be over like Jennifer Lopez's movie "Gigli" Cafe Sua Da (Vietnamese coffee|Espresso w/ condensed milk & ice) - Decent, espresso had a lot of flavor, but wasn't feelin' it (I prefer my Cafe Sua Da a little sweeter...my fav spot is Gala's...just my opinion) - It would've been better if they used crushed ice I probably would've given them 4 stars, but the wait for my food/bev was a little long...considering I was the only one in the store. Most traditional Banh Mi places make their sandwiches within seconds...this place took about 5-8 min. And THEN they made my coffee after the sandwich came out, so that was another 2 min wait. Understanding they want to make it fresh, time is more important to me when I need to get to work. Price is a little higher than "typical" Banh Mi places as well. $6.00 for a sandwich & coffee. Not complaining, just when you're going to charge higher than the norms, I expect better than the norms. If you haven't tried, its worth stopping by. I think the place is "OK" but not bad.

Lynda Sandwich puts together a righteous Bahn Mi! I have been waiting years to try Lynda Sandwich and finally (thanks to work) an opportunity to give their heralded sandwiches the Pepsi challenge. This Little Saigon staple is owned by Lynda Trang Dai (purportedly the Vietnamese equivalent of Madonna) who has been making her style at the venerable Banh Mi for a few years now and hangs her hat on the fact that all the bread and fillings are housemade daily. Each sandwich at Lynda's comes in a crusty baguette with pickled daikon and carrots, cilantro, green onion, cucumber, fresh green chilies, and a generous dose of an ultra potent garlic mayonnaise that pulls all of the ingredients together regardless of the protein you choose. At a colleague's direction I chose to go with the Egg & Chinese Sausage Bahn Mi. The eggs are warm and fluffy, and the Chinese sausage is sweet, savory, and chewy. With some Sriracha sauce drizzled on top, this is my idea of a heavenly breakfast Banh Mi. The flavor profile is far more complex than the short ingredient list and at $3.95 you cannot beat the value. I was very happy to finally have the Lynda Sandwich notch in my Banh Mi belt and cannot wait to return soon to sample other sandwich options.

Beignets here are awesome as they make them when you order them. They have 3 types: original, glazed, and cinnamon. I've tried original and glazed and they are awesome. They are bit-sized pieces and you get a tray of them. I haven't tried anything else here yet but when I do find the chance I will. The interior is nice and they have free wi-fi so it's a chill place to hang.

Best Banh Mi in HB. They bake their own baguettes and so everything tastes fresh. I like the grilled beef and rotisserie chicken banh mi the most. Super flavorful. I have been here at least 20 times... as they are next to the Infiniti dealership. At first was surprised at how good... now im hooked. Oh yeah... big banh mi sandwich os $3-$4.00. Cant beat that.

Cozy cafe' atmosphere, family-run and there's Lynda, too (often chattering on a headset or cranking out dozens of extra coffees per hour.) The menu has uniquely good twists and turns on the usual Bánh Mì places, and I can see why the loyalty of fans is so strong, despite the ups and downs of the family service (just call ahead and it will be ready for you, if you can't tolerate the occasional misses.) One of the few places that has the quite interesting Combo Plate version of a Bánh Mì, which gives you everything but the BBQ pork (that's an extra item) on an assemble-it-yourself and figure out what you like best on your fresh baguette with a full array of delicacies. While priced at double a typical single sandwich, we managed to assemble five 4-inch baguettes each with our fixins - plenty to go around. The beignets are fresh and excellent, with some of those unique twists that comes with dining here (like honey-glazed, and cinnamon fluffed, or dare I suggest - have both combined?) Coffee drinks are top-line (with enough caffeine to flog any drowsiness right out of you.) Considering there seem to be four or five competitors right within the same shopping mall, I think there really are great reasons you'd come here instead. It's not cold-feeling with the usual insistent "You ready to order yet?" and subsequent wandering away I see at so many other dives around Westminster, and accomodates all your idiosyncracies about ordering and ingredients. I think the best improvement would be just adding some of those little plastic table numbers to orders, to make it easier for the great food to find its way to the right customers. On really busy days, I can see where it could get really frustrating to watch your food orbit the restaurant trying to find its owner. Just remember, she's doing a great job at keeping it at a single '$' with a warm heart. As businesses go, that's priceless right there.

Ordered Salmon and rice to-go $10.26 (Com Ca Salmon) I placed a phone order during lunch time, around 1:05pm. The gentleman that took my order said it would take 15 minutes, but ended up taking about 20ish minutes, no biggy, I didn't mind the wait, but a heads up if you're in a rush. The salmon came with seasoned rice, a small picked salad, & sauce on the side. The salmon wasn't that big in size, and the flavor wasn't overwhelming or mouth watering delicious, it was just okay to my liking. The salmon had fried garlic on it, and was lightly seasoned. The garlic flavor still lingers on my tongue this very moment, even after an hour of my meal so be aware. The rice was seasoned but seemed light as well and a little on the dry side. I wish the meal had a little more moisture to every aspect of the meal, it would've been a lot better I think. The older gentleman who helped me was very nice and pleasant.

I like to think that I'm a sort of selective reviewer. I will typically review a business if they are really good or really bad. Wow - that is the impression I have after visiting Lynda Sandwich. The food here is top notch. The smoothie, which was a Strawberry smoothie, was delightful - sweet, but not overly so and tasted natural. The Beef Stew is delicious and savory. The baguettes that accompany are some of the best I've ever tried. They crisp perfectly outside when you break them and soft warm inside. The service is very good and I'll definitely be coming back here again to try the other menu items.

See my previous reviews. Food is still good - my favorites being the Bun Bo Hue noodle soup and their Banh Mi Trung with Chinese Sausage. I docked them off two stars because of their customer service (or lack of it). On more than one occasion while waiting in line and even when I'm in front of the cashier, if the phone goes off, he'll take the call in front of me or another customer. I can understand that you are able to phone in your order - I do that often too - however, from the years of working with the public, my understand was that you always help the customer IN FRONT OF YOU - not the one that's calling in. If its just as important for the restaurant to take in phone orders, then they need more staff. This has happened more than once - most jarringly this morning when the clerk took two back to back phone calls while I was paying for my pickup order. There was already a line of people behind me too. I think Lynda Sandwich, with their great selection and great food has a loyal following (me being one of them) - so that's probably why they feel they can cut back on customer service, but stuff like that doesn't generally last. The food definitely helps, but if I had to choose between this place and another restaurant that offered a delicious version of the BBH dish AND that had great customer service, I'd start frequenting the competition. That's the difference. Your customers will only put up with so much before they leave.

I stopped by for a quick bite. The menu is not extensive but it's a sandwich place. They have noodle soups, stew, sandwiches, meatballs, desserts: pudding and pastries, coffee and tea. I got spicy noodle soup (bun bo hue). The broth was flavorful and there was a good amount of tender beef; however, it was missing some ingredients: pork leg, blood cubes, pork/fish cake, cabbage or banana flower. I wasn't expecting all of these ingredients but it would have been better if they got most of these. My friend got the meatball in broth with bread. They gave us a generous amount of baguettes. This dish was tasty. We waited awhile. They forgot our order and apologized and gave us a complementary passion fruit iced tea. The service was great.

Came here after my dad suggested it was a good place. I've heard of Lynda and she's been part of my household since I was a child. Her karaoke songs were epic. But this place was a disappointment. Came in, looked at menu and was ready to order. Was not even told a welcome or anything from Lynda or her workers. Tried to order and it was like they were trying to avoid me. Mind you, this was when no one was in the shop in the afternoon. This was just bad customer service. The decor was full of famous Vietnamese celebrities. It was a bit much and tacky to be honest. I ordered the Lynda sandwich special. It had basically the banh mi combo of any restaurant with the pork loaf and what looked like shredded chicken. It tasted good actually. It just ruined my food when I had to think about the bad service. Would I come back? No. The food wouldn't justify my next visit. It's far from me since I'm in the SGV and Lynda and her workers don't seem to want my business so I'll take them to other places I find better.

I've been eating Bánh Mì Xíu Mi ever since I was a kid. Lynda's version was great! I asked the cashier and he told me all of the sandwiches have the "Lynda sauce" which has a lighter taste than regular Bánh Mì. The bread was soft, just the way I like it. There was plenty of meat. I also grew up listening to Lynda Trang Dai's songs. Everybody should check out "Supermarket Love Affair" on Youtube. It's cute pop music. I love it. Respect to the Madonna of Vietnam! "Paris By Night" viewers holler back. I loved seeing the pictures of all the Vietnamese celebrities on the wall. How often do you see that in America? It's cool to see. I'm proud of my Vietnamese culture and our beautiful music, food, and people. It's not any different from when you go to a diner and they have pictures of celebs that went there. My friend and I loved the comfy couches we sat in. More cushion for sensitive rear ends. The service was quick. The passion fruit drink I had was nice and sweet. There's outdoor seating too and plenty of parking since it's part of a shopping plaza.

Banh Mi sandwiches are pretty good here but a bit pricer & smaller than other Viet sandwiches in the surrounding Little Saigon area. They have nice decor & setting that's great for students/ just to hang out & chill with friends. Great music here. Free WiFi here too, but I wish that they had more outlets for peeps then that would be great for customers. Customer service was ok as well. Tip: They accept credit cards here but min $10 charge or they'll charge you an extra $1 if under.

good food. only complaints was that the tables were not cleaned before we started eating. we had to ask the kid twice to wipe the table down and when he did, he wiped the crumbs and drink residue onto our pants rather than wipe away from us. second complaint: ordered a lychee tea (that was on point) but had a solid ice block preventing the straw from being inserted. customer service needs work.

It was delicious when I went there the first time. The baguette was PERFECT. It was buttery, with the right amount of crispiness. It was so good that I returned about 2 weeks later. However like other reviewer said, the baguette was stale. It was soft, not crunchy like the first time I visited. It's like they covered it in a bag to keep it from going hard. In addition to, the meat was greasier than before. I'm so disappointed with this place. I thought I found the perfect banh mi shop. I guess I will have to find a better place that serve with FRESH baguette,

The owner ( Lynda ) took my owner. If I was the owner I would make sure my customers get what they have requested . Since the beginning she had good sandwiches then afterwards she started to be very thrift with the meats / sauce. Knowing that I requested extra sauce and chicken . When I ate it there just about 10% more chicken and the bread tasted so dry . Their food went downhill .... Also their passion iced tea is way too sweet . The iced coffee tastes too bland and watered down. The dining chairs here are difficult to sit. You literally have to slouch your back just to take a bite in these chairs .

I've had this place bookmarked since they first opened which was years and years ago. I had Monday off so I decided to pick up lunch here and take it to my wife who had to work. I called in my order at the suggestion of others but the place was completely dead when I arrived. I ordered two of the "Lynda Special" Banh Mi which are the same as a Dac Biet Banh Mi anywhere else. It was shredded chicken, the fattiest ham I've ever seen in my life, some sort of strange bologna looking thing, and pate. It came with their secret sauce, cucumber, jalapeno, pickled daikon, and pickled carrots. I also ordered two of their iced coffees which they waited until I arrived to brew so it wouldn't be watered down. My wife and I both enjoyed our sandwiches very much. All the fatty meats packed a lot of flavor and were balanced out nicely by the pickled veggies. The special sauce tasted like a blend of mayo and soy sauce which was fantastic but a bit scarce. I wish it had more sauce since it really complimented the ingredients. Bread was crusty on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. the Cafe Sua Da(iced coffee with milk) was fantastic. They brewed up espresso fresh to order so it had a really strong coffee flavor, much better than some others I've had, but like most places, it was a ton of ice. Lynda Sandwich is owned by the Vietnamese American pop star Lynda Trang Dai. Since I know nothing about her I looked her up on youtube and we listened to a few songs while eating our Lynda sandwiches. Overall I really enjoyed this place. I like Thanh Tam Bakery a bit better but this place had much better atmosphere, was friendly, and they actually take credit/debit card with a $10 minimum purchase.

Couple days ago I took my friend to this place to try it because I have heard so much about it on Yelp. It was good! I ordered a Banh Mi Dac Biet / Lynda's Sandwich. Although the wait is a bit longer than Banh Mi Che Cali but I thought it was worth it. The environment was great. The decorations were beautiful. Unlike other Banh Mi places the wait may be a bit shorter but the surroundings are very dirty. There are no where to sit and just relax. At Lynda Sandwich, I would say it's like a mini Guppy's. There are plenty of chairs there for us to sit and relax and watch TV & just chill. I would recommend this as a hang out spot too. The Banh Mi was delicious the taste was long lasting. The mayo really took my heart away. I love it. I would definitely come back & you should try it =)

Great looking place, it's new and has non traditional vietnamese additions. They are super slow though. Maybe because they are too new and have not gotten used to the traffic. I will give them another chance in a few months, but three stars for now.

I got an order of the cinnamon beignets which was a lot bigger than expected. It was freshly fried and super yum. The lychee-green tea was good too. The sandwiches were okay, I like my banh mi with pate and head cheese. Overall, modern vibe and super clean. Everyone should check it out just to get a glimpse of Lynda and Tommy who are always there. They're super hands on, from cooking, serving, and staffing the cash register.

I was coming here literally everyday! I really loved there sandwich n sugar powder beignets. But lately, they've been slacking the quality. There sandwiches aren't consistent in taste, some days it's really dry and hard and bland, and somedays it's soft still crispy and flavorful. What's wrong with the chef? I expect to come and pay for something I think I'm getting. I don't like how the little boy with the short short haircut handles his customers orders. I would come in and order the "Che. Bap" I made 9 orders of it. He brought the 9 orders all packed without the coconut, and told me they ran out. I waited close to 20 minutes... And I said it's not complete without the coconut, I don't want it. He returned my money, but couldn't he told me earlier???? Cause I was waiting basically just for that!! They need to retrain there employees, I don't care how much they pay there employees, but they r running a business, n if they want loyal customers, at least be honest with the customers in the beginning! I don't think I would come back here again, sorry Linda sandwich... U made 20-50$ from me literally every morning..... I'm going else where until u guys apologize!!!

I thought this place will be a great sandwich place cause, its own by lynda & tommy(Vietnamese Pop Star) The sandwiches are ok. But, the prices are not good. For a sandwhich, its almost $4. Not everyone could afford $4 for a sandwhich. Please reduce the price, everyone would appreciate it and lots of people will come.

  • Brad B.

First two reviews captured the banh mi pretty well. The only part I can add are the beignets. They're awesome! Fresh, light, and delicate. Not oily at all. They are definitely a differentiator between Lee's or other banh mi houses.

  • Risa K.

Their banh mi are very good, served on warmly toasted bread. They may not be the best in Orange County, and they are definitely not the cheapest (nor fastest, I should add), but they are pretty darn tasty and the atmosphere is so much better than most other banh mi shops in Westminster. Sometimes I want a peaceful lunchtime setting to read a book or just use the wifi while eating my bbq beef sammy, drinking my cafe sua da, and hiding from my children for an hour. If I am only getting takeout sandwiches, I might go somewhere else (maybe Top Baguette). Or if i just wanted coffee, Lily's is my favorite. But if I want a relaxing and delicious lunch (but still affordable), I will choose Lynda. Plus, it's so convenient to go grocery shopping at the supermarket in that same plaza, which i should add, has pretty good boba tea place in the entrance part. While I might only give the food/drink 3.5 stars, the ambiance relative to other local bahn mi places definitely bumps it up.

This place recently opened and is owned by Vietnamese pop-stars Lynda Trang Dai and Tommy Ngo. The ambiance is a cool hip retro vibe. One large wall is covered with a mural of 80's popstars, such as Madonna and Michael Jackson. Another wall is adorned with signed pics of Vietnamese pop-stars. The menu consisted mainly of sandwiches, coffee drinks, and beignets. Thus far, we have tried the combo special sandwich, chicken sandwich, bbq pork sandwich, shrimp sausage sandwich, and beef stew. The combo special sandwich was very disappointing. The meat was sliced too thick especially the char-siu pork skin. The pork skin had a slimey crunchy texture to it. I did not care for it. The chicken sandwich was made with seasoned shredded chicken. The chicken portion was chintzy in the sandwich. The bbq pork sandwich was almost un-palatable because it was super dry and cut way too thick. The shrimp sausage sandwich was okay. It only came with 2 slices of shrimp sausage. The beef and tendon in the beef stew could have been cooked a little longer. The meat was not as tender as I would have liked. I really wanted to like this place. I find myself comparing the sandwiches to some of the other banh mi shops that I do like such as Cali, Saigon, and Top Baguette. I am really disappointed!

Sandwiches was very average. I ordered banh mi dac biet and the grilled chicken. The sandwiches have very little filling of meat and shredded carrot n daikon (not pickled).

We tried their Lynda Special sandwiches which are packed with layers of meat in a very tasty mayonnaise; the bread has very good texture. Their sandwich is a definitely step up from other Vietnamese sandwich shops. We definitely will come back to try other items on their menu.

Should you find yourself in westminster -- quite unlikely -- and in the mood for the perfect Vietnamese sandwich, Linda Sandwich is so good. On my first vist, I had the grilled pork sandwich. The French bread was so crisp and delicious with cilantro, jalapeños, jicama, carrots and Linda sauce -- hot, cool, crispy, crunchy, perfect bites every time. The next day we visited again and this time we had the sliced pork -- ditto -- sandwich perfection. Oh and maybe because Westminster sits smack in the middle of the OC and LA, while really being in the middle of nowhere -- a sandwich is about $3.50.

This trendy little coffee shop has the most amazing sandwiches, i'm obsessed with Lynda's secret sauce that she puts in it. Even better, the sandwiches are affordable for a student like me. Not only are their sandwiches are amazing, but so are their beignets and java jello. I love beignets and now i dont have to fly alll the way over to New Orleans when i crave it. And when i want jello and coffee and the same time, the java jello hits the spot. I've also never had mochi ice cream better anywhere else but here. i love EVERYTHING on the menu.

Best banh mi by far.... Lee's sandwiches and other places has nothing on their banh mi. Lynda's sauce is really what makes the sandwiches special!!! Also try the beignets! THEY ARE DELICIOUS!! Don't waste your time going all the way to down town disney when you can go to LYNDA SANDWICH! My favorite flavor has got be ORIGINAL and cinnamon :)

Nice place to relax and enjoy some snacks during the day. I have to admit that I typically go to the Lee's Sandwich instead, but wanted to try something different. The inside is hip and trendy and well decorated. I tried 2 different sandwiched the Lynda special and the grilled shrimp. Both were tasty and enjoyable as the bread was fresh and not too firm. Overall I was impressed but thought that they were slightly high in price, but not shockingly high. I just wish some Viet sandwich joint would pack on the ingredients and fixing (subway style) and charge a little more for it, but give me something to feel satisfied with.

Ordered the Banh Mi Thit Nuong and Passion Fruit Iced Tea. The Banh Mi took way too long. Being as I was the only one there, I was NOT expecting to wait for 5 minutes and I was NOT expecting on getting a Fried Egg sandwich when I ordered BBQ Pork. But that being said, I really enjoyed the wrong sandwich and my iced tea :) I thought the bread was okay, but the veggies were really fresh and all the flavors were good, delicious. I thought some of the prices were a bit steep (not outrageous), but I'll probably come back to try the BBQ Pork sandwich that everyone is raving about, haha.

I don't write much but this place deserve a review. The place itself is kind of cheesy but they're old Vietnamese celebrities so that's okay. The sandwiches are the best I've found down here in OC, its quality meat and the bread is so soft n delicious. The sandwich is pretty big as well and they have other food dishes too, haven't tried it yet but looks delicious. I recommend the Lynda special sandwich. Come here for quality sandwich! I hear the beignets are also good.

Lynda's makes the best vietnamese sandwiches I've tasted so far. Regardless of what type of sandwich you order, the bread is PHAN-tastic and the dressing/mayo is super tasty. I always order at least 1 Dac Biet (Lynda Special) and either their BBQ pork (Xa Xiu) or their Sausage and fried egg (Trung Lap Xuong). The place is pretty crowded on weekends so there's usually a wait but it's definitely worth it.

When I heard Lynda Trang Dai opened a sandwich shop, it was definitely on my list to try it out and even more when I heard raving reviews about her sauce especially from her. So I got the chance to go when our family took a trip down south to go to disneyland. We stopped by before we hit the road back to north cali and I must say...it didn't live up to my expectations. I wouldn't say it's bad but I wouldn't say it lived up to the hype. The atmosphere, although looked great on camera, seeing it in person was just a tad too much, very gaudy. Like other reviewers said, the handwritten menu was hard to read and just made it harder for me to decide what to get. I'm the kind of person that likes to try out what the business is known for so hearing how Oprah picked out their mochi icecream, I got that along with her dac biet sandwich just to try out the sauce. I tried the mochi first and although it's good, I wouldn't say it's the best. The outer shell part was very soft and easy to bite into but I didn't felt the icecream was anything special. I might as well go to trader joes and buy theirs. So now on to the sandwich...first bite...loved it! the bread was not hard and the meats were soft but as I got halfway done with the sandwich, I started to get sick of it. The sauce was far too sweet for my taste, I heard there's garlic in it but I don't taste it. The meats and bread was still enjoyable but then again a lot of sandwich places are, her selling point was the sauce and it didn't impressed me. Overall I'll say that the place is overrated which is why I gave it three stars, it's not bad but it's not to die for. Maybe if I'm down in the OC, I would stop by again but it's not a must for me. Also they didn't have tapoica pearls...wah? what vietnamese place doesn't?

The food here is so so, but at least the decor was contemporary and hip. I did like the bbq pork banh mi, but I am a glutton for pork so my opinion is probably biased. My wife didn't care for the pork though. As for house special sandwich, it contained some type of fatty char sui pork that made me gag. I forced myself to swallow that piece, but I was astounded by the crazy looking piece of lipo-fat that I pulled out from the banh mi. I will never order Banh Mi from this place again. If you want good consistent tasting banh mi, go to other established places in Little Saigon (i.e. Top Baquette or Banh Mi Cali). The shining light of this place is that you can order Beignets! Did you hear me correctly? Beignets son! Not very many places make Beignets, but the only problem was that they were sold out. My next goal is to come back and try them for sure.

Lynda sandwich $3.75 bread is hard ,they must not make it here. Other places are cheaper like saigon sandwich Or Teo s sandwhich .If you got money to spare then this is the place for you.

So I waited for over 15 minutes just for my beignets. Service is super slow I tell you. The place looks clean and very bmodern, but the crowd is a little off. The price is quite reasonable though except for the beignets. I havent got a chance to eat the banh mi there so I will likely to pay a second visit to give my final judgement on this place.

I am a frequent customer of Lynda Sandwich and would like to give the place a review that I hope is helpful, as well as clarify a few wrong assumptions that I noticed while reading other reviews. 1. I noticed a few people complained about the sandwiches having too much fat in them. Well, the Banh Mi Dac Biet (Lynda Special) actually has three types of meat in it: pork roll, chicken, and this meat that is called "thit nguoi" in Vietnamese. This type of meat is basically the fatty part of the pork. It's SUPPOSED to be fatty, so if you don't like fat, then make sure you order Lynda Special without thit nguoi, or something else altogether. 2. The "photo-shoppped" poster that looks like a positive review of the place is actually an advertisement for the mochi that they sell there. If you actually read that poster, it is just to inform customers that the mochi they sell at the shop was endorsed by Oprah on her show. 3. Since I stop by nearly every day, I actually ventured into Lynda Sandwich the night they had their private party. They politely told me that their hours were 7:30 am to 8 pm. It was, in fact, after 8 pm, so they kindly asked me to return the next day. Now, on to my review. The banh mi is delicious. I never even liked Vietnamese sandwiches until this place! My favorite is the chicken. Unlike other sandwich places, the food is fresh. Regarding the food portions versus the price, I'd just like to say quality over quantity. It's really not that expensive, seeing as tax is included, and it's definitely worth it. As far as drinks go, I love the passion iced tea. The lychee is good as well though. I can't say I'm a true coffee drinker, but I liked their cafe sua da (iced milk coffee) as well. The beignets are great! $3.50 for a huge order. 15 pieces or so. I could barely finish it myself...but they were so addicting that I managed to anyway. The java jellos are an original-recipe coffee-flavored jello that they sell. They're only $1.50 and once you try one you won't be able to stop eating them. They're perfect if you want a light snack or dessert. The service is great. They are all very nice! People seem to complain that the service is slow, but obviously if the line is long and the place is crowded, you're going to have to wait. Overall, I love this place and I'd definitely recommend it.

Lynda Sandwich is definitely different from your typical Vietnamese sandwich shops. It's trendy, great customer service, and great food. What more could you ask for? Food - I've had the Banh Mi Bo Kho several times! It's made just the way I like it: thick sauce, tender meat, and green chili peppers to turn it up a notch. The only sandwich I've tried is the Lynda Special, but since all their sandwiches have the same sauce, I'm sure I would enjoy them all. Drinks - Coffee: It's great! Unique to any other place. Try it blended. They told me they had someone develop the flavor over several months! That's dedication! Oh you, you actually see Lynda and Tommy there all the time!

Tried this place out and it's pretty nice. We got: Combo plate: fried egg, beef, sausage, and various other bits and pieces. The beef was tender and well seasoned, but it took a while (like 10-15 minutes) to get the food, and it was a little cold. chicken sandwich - well seasoned, the baguette had a nice crust on the outside, chewy on the inside. but it took a while (like 10-15 minutes) to get the sandwich. Was it supposed to be hot? Dunno since it wasn't when I got it. cafe sua da - not as strong as I usually like, but not too bad. but it took a while (like 10 minutes) to get the coffee. mochi ice cream (AS SEEN ON OPRAH!) - I didn't try this, my friend did. but it took a while (seeing a trend here?) to get the ice cream. I don't know why the little guy behind the counter didn't just hand it to me, it's prepackaged in those little plastic containters that they use for sauces. We had to wait about 5 minutes to get this little prepackaged container with one mochi ice cream (AS SEEN ON OPRAH!) in it. Come to think of it, the little guy was a little odd. He told me $1.50 for the mochi ice cream (AS SEEN ON OPRAH!) and when I gave him the money, he turned around to talk to his buddies right as I was handing him my money. Kids these days... Food is pretty good, but I'm not too fond of waiting 5 minutes for a prepackaged mochi ice cream (AS SEEN ON OPRAH!) while little guy is busy talking to his buddies.

Place is good. It is my go-to Viet Du Mah Sandwich place, since I live less than a mile away. Had a beef sandwich, cinnamon Beignets, and a strawberry smoothie. The smoothie was just okay but the other were good enough to come back to.

Zero star if I could!!! Who has a private party at the store and have no sign mentioning it was closed... Walk in to check the place out to see why such a great review but turns out to be a big let down...got kicked out...could at least help us out since we walked all the way in

okay so maybe i'm a little bit biased since i am a huge fan of her music (Lynda Trang Dai - the owner). but the decor alone deserves a woohoo! as good as it gets! the bright orange (even in the bathroom) theme throughout the store makes me happy to be there = ). the sandwiches were also pretty good. my friends and shared the special, grilled pork, and chinese sausage w/ egg. really no complaints there! the price was decent, not much more than any other vietnamese sandwich shops. if only it wasn't so far away, or else i'd totally be a frequent customer! still holding out for the day i will be able to see her, or have my sandwich handed to me by her. sounds totally creepy but please don't judge me = P

We ordered several of their sandwiches... the Grilled Pork, BBQ Pork, and Lynda Specials. All were REALLY good, even the ones that we took to-go, kept really well. Fresh flavors, well balanced sandwiches. For drinks, I really recommend the raspberry ice tea. My friends had the lychee ice tea, which they all enjoyed. Oh, and the beignets.... SO GOOD. I ate a handful of them, and kept going back for more... The java jello will give you a great jolt if you're planning a night out after dinner. The owners served us with a lot of personal attention, and the food came out quickly... we'll definitely be back.

my .02ç I decided to go after reading all the review from Yelper's. Customer Service: Very good. Kind people behind the counter, Tommy Ngo along with the staff welcomed me when I came in. Decor: Nice and warm. Atmosphere is great for hanging out with friends after work I suppose. Cool autographed pictures of the music industry people. Poor choice. Rent is probably cheap there but if it was on Bolsa, the profit would be great enough for someone not to care. I ordered a 3x chicken sandwiches and a coffee. The coffee was over priced and did not taste any better then Banh Mi Che Cali. The sandwich is mediocre. The spread that they use really enhances the flavor of the meat. Without it, I don't think it would taste that great. The amount of meat they put in was insignificant compared to other places. Same with the pickled veggies. $2.75 is a great number but this sandwich is not worth $2.75. I can see this place being a hang-out for all the people in the music industry since it's owned by one of their own. I'll be trying their other sandwiches before I decide if I want to be a regular.

Love the grilled chicken sandwich! the mayo was so moist and buttery. it was amazingly delicious! usually when you order a Vietnamese sandwich, it would stink with the smell of the veggies but Lynda's sandwiches presents a wonderful sandwich that smells the smell of perfection. i would advise getting a credit card machine though. quiet disappointed when the cashier told me it was cash only

Pros: Good bread, keeps fresh even after a few hours. Cons: Pricey, very little veggies. My SO had the dac biet and I had the cha sandwich. We split an order of beignets. All in all, a good experience, but a longish wait and a bit pricey for the area. A huge plus, we saw Linda herself come out and help customers while waiting. Cool to see! We will be back to try other things on the menu.

Let's start with what you see when you walk in. You walk in and the first think you see is an orange mural in front of you. The mural has marilyn monroe and the beetles. It's a really interesting mural then you see the cafe tables it's really cute. Then you see on the floor these stars with Vietnamese singer's autographs on floor leading you up to the cash register. You are greeted with the two nice cashier ready to help you. I ordered banh mi chay (vegetarian sandwich). I ordered a dine in so it didn't take too long for my sandwich. The sandwich was fresh and the vegetarian sandwich was really good. It's better than other vegetarian sandwiches at other Vietnamese banh mi places. The first bite of the kind of crunchy just so perfect banh mi then you get the taste of the filling of veggie "tofu and other ingridents." I'm not sure what's the filling but it sure do taste good it melts in your mouth. I shared with my friend banh mi chay and she shared with me her banh mi trung. I must say the banh mi trung is pretty good too. It's so fluffy and buttery. It melts in your mouth too. Overall the sandwiches are good. The price is good $2.95. The place was cute but I thin the color orange is a little too much for me. Overall a great place for sandwiches. (:

I must admit. I was an anti-Lynda Sandwich in the beginning, but after a couple of more tries, it's ok. Here's my take from my last visits: 1. Food- Hits and misses on some days. Sandwich depends on the maker I think. Ask to toast the sandwich if you're eating there. Lynda Special didn't seem that special. BBQ was ok. Tea drink is pretty good. Love the fruit ice cubes. 2. Wait time- HORRIBLE. Last couple of visits I waited 20 MINUTES for 2 sandwiches. FULLY staffed and slow crowd. 3. Cleanliness- Expected to not be, but it still irritates me when the tables are left dirty to dine in. 4. Price- Very affordable, but more overpriced compared to other Vietnamese sandwich shops in the area.

I avoided this place initially because from the outside it looked like a regular restaurant but because of frustration with the poor service at Lee's, I went ahead and went in today. After walking past the outdoor seating, you have to make a right turn to see the counter and then it indeed started to look like a sandwich shop. I had the BBQ Pork and at $2.95 (tax included), it costs more than nearby Lee's but NO QUESTION it's worth it. This is one time where the premium cost actually matched he quality. Lynda was there supervising things like an owner no-doubt should. The service was much better and the eatery looked pleasant. Several people were using laptops. I did not know (or care) who she was but from the autographs on the wall she obviously has entertainment connections and it was kind of cool to browse the pictures on the wall.

Lynda, I'm not Vietnamese, so I don't know who u are, but thank you for bringing us this wonderful little gem! Wow! A cute place with great friendly service and delicrious food! The grass jelly drink was amazingly good...the red beans were a nice little treat! Yum! We got the special....another palette pleaser and the siu mai...the kind that comes with the bread and soup separately....haven't tried it just yet, but it smells fantastic! I'll be back for the biegniets at some point....oh and they take credit card....a big plus!

as everyone suggested, i tried the grilled pork (add pate, and no vegetables except for cilantro) accompanied with ca phe sua da (iced vietnamese coffee.) no complaints about the sandwich nor the coffee. i tried some of my friend's passion fruit tea, i would definitely recommend that.

Good sandwiches. Friendly staff. Fresh inviting decor. I had the dac biet and I like the baguette bread with just the right amount of crunch. Also the combination of meats and sauce had a delicious blend of flavor with a hint of salt and spice. I will come back again to try their other sandwiches!

This is a great sandwich shop. This is as good as Top Baguette but with more variety. The shop was opened by a former Vietnamese Singer, Lynda Trang Dai. She decorated her shops with friends or fellow singers. The shop is small but cozey, with several tables and a patio for smokers. The price is reasonable. food: 4.5/5 The sandwiches are very good with the bread bakes fresh each day. Even if you buy the sandwich and eat it the next day, the bread is still good, not hard like a popular sandwich chain. The shop have fresh beignets (very good), small variety of che (dessert which is good), and do an nhau (appetizers, also good). ambiance: 4/5 The walls are decorated with Vietnamese celebrities and singers along, with in wall painting of dead American celebrities. A little bit cheesy, but it works, since the owner used to be a singer herself. There is one large TV screen. There is a patio for patron who smokes. cleanlyness: 5/5 The place is new and clean. This is rare for a Vietnamese Sandwich shop. service 4.5/5: The staff is young and helpful, speaking both Vietnamese and English, which is a plus. They are quick and friendly. I never had bad service yet for the several times I visited this place. The shop also take credit card, which is convenient. cost: 4/5: This is decent cost, comparable to most American sandwich shop. But, a little higher than most Vietnamese sandwich shops, but not much. Parking: 5/5 private lot. safe. Overall, I am very impressed with this shop. This is a cross between Starbuck and Lee Sandwich, with decent price, good service and cleanlyness. The score tips this toward a 5/5 in my book.

The decor is really nice with photos of famous Vietnamese faces on the wall on the left right when you walk in. It's like I was on the set of Paris by Night, but I haven't seen Lynda Trang Dai yet. Anyway, I love their Banh Mi Dac Diet! It's $3.75 per sandwich, but their meat quality and portions are better than Lee's Sandwiches. They give you a combination of thit nguoi (special cold cuts), pork roll, and slightly sweet shredded chicken. I am hooked. They also offer hot plates of traditional Vietnamese dishes and I heard that they are delicious. My friend goes here for their beignets. This cafe is worth a visit.

came here with my friends today since my brother and his girlfriend always talk about this place! the cashier at this place was really friendly and she helped me with what kind of beignets to buy (: it took around 5-7 minutes for them to get done but they were absolutely delicious and were in a cute togo tray! one of my friends who barely eats sweet stuff couldn't stop eating.

This place is over priced and the sandwiches are not that great. What pissed me off the most was the cafe sua da or viet iced coffee. The coffee was way watered down and tasted like it was powdered coffee. How can they make the coffee so terrible? The coffee wasn't filled to the top too.

My mom keep nagging me about how this place is open by a vietnamese pop star. LOL say that a vietnamese pop star having her own sandwich ahha. Came here today with my gf and the interior of the store was very modern from the wall to the chairs and tables. The price for everything here is a bit more expensive than other places. GF ordered a chicken sandwich, I ordered a lynda's special with a ice coffee total bill was around $9. The wait took forever! i mean cmon it sandwiches and coffees how long does it take to make. Food was great though, it was well perfect balance out, fresh veggies and the meat didn't stink like other places would and for the bread it was soft and crispy. The iced coffee was too sweet for me. Overall its pretty good, the wait sucks but then im addicted to those sandwiches so it won't matter. Btw they accept plastic.

Very impressed on my first visit. Great decor and furniture with painted mural of famous celebs ( Beatles, Liz Taylor, ect.) and a wall of famous Vietnamese celebrities. They have a nice selection of sandwiches, coffee and tea drinks and other items. They were busy at lunch, but the staff worked orderly and at a fast pace to get everyone their order. I didn't mind waiting a few minutes and well worth it when I got my sandwich. It was great and I enjoyed every bite. While I was waiting for my order I looked at the other dishes being served and they really give good amounts of food with nice presentation. A must try!

Banh mi dac biet is good especially with extra mayo. $3.75 for a sandwich is pretty pricey. I was expected to wait at least 20 mins for my sandwiches but was pleasantly surprised that it was done in 10 mins. Service is bad though. The short and shaved head guy named Martino needs to learn some customer service skills. He's grumpy and unfriendly so he shouldn't be running the register. Hopefully Lynda or Tommy read this post and give this guy a boot!

Ugh, what mixed feelings I have about this place. I wish they were clean. But is another dingy Asian place. If you are going to be dingy and unsanitary, at least hide it from your customers. It's my first time here, I was hungry and excited about a good bahn mi. I ordered the grilled chicken and passion fruit ice tea To go. As soon as I was done paying for my order I looked directly forward which faces the swinging wood doors to the dungeon(kitchen). My eyes gazed to the floor and I see a huge plastic container filled with the carrots and veggies they use in the sandwiches!!! Ugh gross. I wish I got a photo but had no chance. C'mon people. I don't even handle my dogs food like that. You can't put food you are going to serve to people on the ground! Where's the health dept when you need em.? My appetite sank but I was starving... So i had a bite of the sandwich, and it was good, the chicken was a bit salty...it was shredded and for some reason tasted like a tuna sandwich. If someone told me it was tuna, I would have believed it. Maybe it was the texture. The ice tea was good. different and refreshing. I am so torn. It's good but how can I erase the thought of all my food just laying around on the ground before its made into a presentable sandwich? maybe next time I will go in blind folded and eat blindfolded.

this is one of 3 places i will get a chicken sandwich from. it was so good i had to come back a second time later today. the gentleman at the counter told me it would be 15 minutes for the bread to come out. I hesitated for a second but stayed because the sandwich was just that good. he even offered me a free iced tea for my wait. i will come again

I had the banh mi dac biet and chicken sandwich. Both were ok, nothing spectacular but not bad also. I liked the beignet. It was pretty sweet but definitely recommend eating it once you get it because it wont be good a few hours afterwards. Lastly, I ordered the passion tea with berry cubes as others have mentioned and to be honest I was disappointed, wasn't a huge fan of it. True to other people's experiences the service was pretty bad. I called in to place a togo order and when I got there the food was still not ready. I got there 15 minutes after I placed the order and by the time I got my order it was 30-40 minutes after I ordered it. It feels as though she is still working out the kinks to running the business and processing and producing people's orders. It seems a little disorganized in the back. The prices are decent so would recommend trying it out.

Dude the Lynda special bang Mi is dank (4 stars). I think it's the butter that make it tasty. I also try the banh mi ga(chicken).., it was like 3 stars.Inside the bakery/store feels like a lounge.

Lynda's is an absolute must for anyone. Whether you're the picky or love it all type, Lynda's has something for you. If you're on the go, a sandwich is such a delicious meal. If you have time for a sit down meal, they have a number of hot dishes that are authentic and delicious! Note: A lot of people complain about the prices (~$2.95-3.75 a sandwich), but the quality cannot be beat. It's way better than Lee's and so worth it! Recommendations: Sandwiches - Ga, Xiu Mai, Xa Xiu, Thit Nuong, Dac Biet, Chay, Cha. Hot Dishes - Salmon, Bo Luc Lac (medium), and everything else. Whatever you order, you're safe. Nothing is bad.

I love their chicken sandwich!! Their sandwich is the best. I prefer this place over any other Vietnamese sandwich place! It's a little pricey for a Banh mi, but it's totally worth it! It doesn't have that strong smell like lee's sandwiches. The bread isn't as hard and crunchy, it's made just right!

My sister and I are obsessed with their shrimp cake sandwich! We stop here to get some for the next day's lunch whenever we are in town. Get the veggies on the side and pop the sandwich into the toaster oven for 10 minutes and bam! No it doesn't explode, but it does taste as fresh as the day it was made! I don't think I've ever been here when it was busier than having one or two other customers in the restaurant. It's a cute place, clean facilities, and if you're lucky enough, Lynda is there. I remember seeing her performances as a kid whenever my parents watched Paris by Night on the telly. She's really cute/nice in person. I have also tried their fish cake banh mi and it is also really good, but shrimp cake is kind of special, so if they haven't run out of it, that's always our first choice. Their baguette is WAAAAY better than Lee's Sandwiches.

Awesome, awesome, awesome sandwiches here! I had Linda's Special the first time I went here and loved it! I returned the following day and had the grilled pork sandwich. I quickly finished the grilled pork sandwich and ordered Linda's Special again (2 sandwiches)! I'm definitely coming back here for more. Oh and their Vietnamese iced coffee is really, really good, by the way.

The sandwhiches are barely better than Lee's which isn't saying much. But the service is hands down terrible. I ordered an ice coffee and one sandwhich...After waiting 20 minutes I noticed that a regular came in only because they knew his name ordered the same dtink as I and immediately receieved it.. After a few more minutes I walked over to the counter to check on my food... Are you waiting for your order? (No I'm just standing here watching you work)...yes I am I reply...I nearly hit the floor when she asks..what did you order?..(you can take my money but not remember what my order was?) So I reluctantly tell her which she then gives me a bag that had been sitting on the counter and tells me it'll be another 5 minutes for the drink....won't go back.

  • Steffie K.

The sandwiches here are delicious! Full of flavor and the bread is really soft compared to the lees sandwich across the lot. I gave them a four star rating because there is always room for improvement. Been coming here for like a year now. Today had to be that when I'm writing the review, I bite in to old bread which I'm pretty sad about because they are great with their sandwiches and using fresh bread or at least same-day bread. I'll continue to go there and give them the benefit of the doubt that they had a bad day today or were short on bread somehow. And I will definitely let them know the next time I stop by.

Service is slow, but worth the wait. Best banh mi spot in the OC, nice flavor, and fresh meat ingredients. Reasonable prices. Also love their beignets with powered sugar, big enough to share with 2-3 people. Freshly made every time I order

Banh Mi and Bo Luc Lac The Banh Mi here is excellent. Fresh baguette and fresh ingredients. Dac Biet-4 stars Do I ever order anything else? Nope. Dac Biet is the combo sandwich with a bit of everything including pate. For me, the freshness of the veggies, quality of pate and freshness/quality of the baguette mean everything. Here, they pretty much did a good job on everything. I am a fan and then some! Bo Luc Lac-4 Stars A love steak and the history with the French and Vietnamese produced one of the best steak dishes on this planet. Bo Luc Lac, if done right, uses the best cuts of filet mignon. The uniqueness of the dish for various places comes from the spices and flavor from the "shaken" portion of the meat. Some places offer fresh veggies. The guy behind the counter suggested it to me. It was not the highest quality meat but the flavor was excellent. I was surprised. The meat was A-OK but the flavor and seasonings made me a fan. Lynda? Where was Lynda? I totally want a photo and autograph!!! I am a fan of this place even though I have been here once. I am hesitant on giving five stars on one visit. The girl behind the counter needs some people skills, but the guy sold me on trying another dish. I look forward to coming back and hopefully can get my photo and autograph from the International Super Star... Lynda! Update coming soon! I am a fan! Lynda Sandwich, Orange County..another reason the OC is the best place to live!

The best Vietnamese sandwich paired with an awesome staff and an amazing atmosphere have kept me coming here repeatedly. Yes it is a bit out of the way from the central of little Saigon but it's way worth it for the awesome experience I get every time I come here. Awesome place to try, and a go to place for banh mi!

I've been in a bahn mi rut recently and haven't written any new reviews. I just felt they weren't worth it, until now.... Lynda's makes an awesome bahn mi. At first I was a little put off that they charged slightly more than other places, but the price difference was small (.50 to $1) and the choices are really tasty. To top it off, the bread was fresh and had the soft chewyness I like. I got the grilled pork bahn mi and was impressed by the seasoning. Next sandwich? I will be back.

  • Loc N.

The banh mi here is okay for $3.95 a pop. The quality is the same as everywhere else but at a steeper price. The place is well decorated with tons of signed photographs of known celebrities in the vietnamese community which to any white guy just looks like a bunch of fobs. The service was also mediocre, the girl at the front desk doesn't seem like she cares for her job so much.

LYNDA - u need to read this!!! I gave this place a low star because the food quality I had received here was very poor. I came here because of the yelp reviews, but now I won't be coming here again. I expected the sandwiches to be delicious or somewhat better than other competitors but I was wrong. THE BAD-----I had ordered the Lynda special, the grilled pork, and an order of beignets. It turns out my bread/baguette was made from leftover bread or STALE bread. There was no crunch what's so ever. It was bread from the day before that's why it was so soft. I expected the bread to be crunchy and fresh from the oven. This is the first time in my life buying vietnamese sandwich made from stale bread. VERY DISAPPOINTED !!! The Lynda special sandwich was ok barely any chicken inside and chicken is way cheaper than other meats so why can't you add more chicken???? The grilled pork has this weird curry flavoring? It was a little bit odd to eat this since the flavoring just doesn't taste right. ----the pickled shredded daikon and carrots was VERY BLAND no crunch whatsoever or that vinegretty taste. Maybe it was soak in water? BEIGNETS----for $4 it was not worth it. It was only mini fried dough covered in powdered sugar. They got dried and hard by the time I drove home. GO TO LILY's Bakery on brookhurst and bolsa for better beignets. SERVICE- I came here and stood in the front counter for a few minutes but the cashier girl never even acknowledged me or anything. I mean can't they even say "hi hello or welcome" to their customers???? But anyway the service does needs to be improve. Overall, I had expected more from this place especially when it's coming from a famous singer, Lynda. I just hope you don't get food serve in STALE or LEFT OVER BREAD when ordering Togo like me. Or better yet check your sandwich before you walk out of there.

Finally dicided to stop by after hearing people say the banh mi here is good..I ordered banh mi special w/ no veggie pickles..got my banh mi and there was ALOT of veggie pickles in it, the banh mi was COLD I wish they would at least heat up the banh mi..i didnt really enjoy the cold banh mi one bit.. Customer service was a big NO..the girl who took my order did not greet or smile at all..same goes with the guy!! The banh mi was ok, their butter sauce was good but I wont be coming back for the service!!

I put this place at a three star rating because their food really is delicious. Lynda's house special sandwich was great and had really spectacular flavors. She is also extremely kind. It is her staff of workers who just give off such a rude vibe. They never say anything rude to you, they just give you the stink eye or roll their eyes at you. I'm sorry I don't know what I want to order as soon as I walk into the door. It seems that she micromanages everything from decor to food which is why she is so successful but her staff needs a revamping. I can't imagine what they are like when she isn't around.

  • Vanessa N.

Lynda Sandwiches trumps any other banh mi place in my opinion. The sandwiches are a bit pricier but you get what you pay for. Sandwiches are made to order - veggies, meat and bread are always fresh! What I typically order: Banh mi dac biet Vegetarian banh mi with a fried egg (never without) Bo kho Combination breakfast sampler (better than Coffee Factory on Brookhurst) Passion fruit iced tea (Love those fruit filled iced cubes!) Beignets

  • Vy L.

What happened Lynda? My wife and I have been a customer since the day they opened. Back then, the food was generally delicious, The banh mi ga (chicken sandwich) was so good, it had become our favorite. Late last year I switched to banh mi chay (vegetarian sandwich), it was very good also. But for the last few months, the baguettes we ordered were soft and cold, not crunchy. I've been getting less and less "bi chay" (the vegetarian meat) and the sandwich spread was barely there. This morning I gave it another try, the sandwich was totally bland! You've just lost a long time customer.

I hate to state the obvious but at lots of Vietnamese places a big white guy isn't always treated the best. But I still go back for the amazing food. At Lynda's sandwiches the customer service is very good. The banh Mi sandwiches are amazing and the iced coffee is great. The Pho is on point as well. Nice little hidden gem definitely worth the visit to get a great tasting sandwich. The location is very clean and modern which is important for any restaurant. I will be very pleased to make a special trip to get a great tasting sandwich.

Got back to work and try it not bad , I will come back again only because A buddy wanted to see what she look like now .... I will try more food and give a real review on food not her lol

The food here is SO great! The banh mi dac biet is so flavorful. I love the shredded chicken & special mayo sauce inside. The hu tieu bo kho tastes like how my grandma makes it -- oh so delicious. I also like to dip the baguette into the broth. Try it if you haven't! The bo luc lac has small portions unfortunately, but the meat is cooked extremely well. It's tender and FULL of flavor. I tried the thai tea and passion iced tea, and they tasted super yummy as well. Haven't tried the beignet, but it looks so tasty! Decorations are on point. Very modern and classy, and I love it! I just wish the tables were a bit bigger to fit groups of 4+. I won't say the service is very great. You'd expect Lynda to greet you, right? That didn't happen to me. She minded her own business and even looked grumpy when she gave me my food. The cashier is also super rude... Could've been five stars... Just work on your service and you'll be TOP NOTCH.

  • Anners C.

Would definitely give 5 stars if seating was a little better. My husband and I frequent this place on Sundays and order the same "fried egg and lap xuong sandwich" with java jellos. It's not the most filling meal, but it's really good, fresh, and did I mention coffee jello?!? You also can't beat the price for a cheap, light lunch. There are also combo plates too, I haven't tried any. Still hoping to run into the Vietnamese Madonna of the 90s and her hubby Tommy!

My go-to spot for banh mi (Vietnamese sandwich). I love their butter sauce and always ask for extra in my sandwich. Unlike Lee's or other places, they don't skimp out on the meat! I mean, it's not overly stuffed with meat, but they put just the right amount! Their specialty and chicken sandwiches are my favorites! Ohh and their desserts are good too

  • Andy L.

I'm a big fan of banh mi, I can eat it almost everyday if I really have to. The sandwiches here are good, a little on the pricier side though. Food: Came here after hearing my mom talk about it for weeks after she saw a commercial for it on some Viet newspaper. I sort of regret not listening to here earlier. Went with the Dac Biet sandwich and it was delicious! Comes with pork roll, pork belly meat, shredded chicken, house mayo and veggies (doesn't come with pate but it's not really missing it). The thing that made the sandwich delicious was the house mayo, it's full of flavor and they give a generous amount as well. The shredded chicken is also pretty good, will try it by itself next time. Besides the sandwiches, Lynda Sandwiches have some other Viet dishes as well and they do look good from the Yelp pictures. When I was there someone had a noodle soup dish and it smelled awesome. Will come back to try everything else. They also have some drinks too but I already boba from elsewhere. Service: Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The girl running the cash register is fluent in both English and Vietnamese, the guy though had some trouble with Vietnamese from what I saw. Food comes out quickly and they give orders by name not number (makes it more friendlier imo). The place gives off a cafe vibe but still works as a late night hangout if that makes any sense. Not a lot of seating but it works for a quick stop, there is some outside seating though. Location: I'm not too knowledgeable about the Westminster area but it seems there is always traffic, especially on the weekends. Lynda Sandwich does benefit from the fact that it is located in a huge plaza so there is plenty of parking.

  • Morgan D.

Everything here is delicious! You can tell the quality in meat/bread is superior to all the cheap Vietnamese sandwich restaurants that focus on quantity/low-quality ingredients. My favorite sandwiches are the vegetarian ham (made out of tofu or something, but tastes amazing!!) and the chicken (shredded and mixed with great seasoning). Other notable dishes that I like are the bo luc lac w/garlic noodles, and the soup dishes.

This place has really good banh mi. And by good I mean better than Lee's Sandwiches and Banh Mi Che Cali's around here. I've tried a lot of banh mi and so far, Lynda's has been my usual place to go to. It's fresh, juicy and hot. I just love how juicy the banh mi is. ^.^ it's really flavorful and just right. My personal favorite is the shrimp cake sandwich. I always get it; it's savory. I tried the grilled shredded chicken too, it's good but a little on the plain side. One time, the ran out of shrimp cake, and I decided to try fish cake instead...well what do you know, it did taste fishy ;o it's okay, but it's a little too fishy for me. Another thing I tried was the beignets. I bought them at two different times, it's not all that great. It tastes really chewy and eh, like it's cooked right out the freezer. If anyone's ever had the beignets at the Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney, now THOSE are good stuff. Because I had that, I didn't like Lynda's beignets. Nice try but, I'll just stick to sandwiches and coffee :3 Other than that, I love the shrimp cake banh mi. I need to try other stuff. Service wise: It's just simple. I'm not looking for anything out of it, except to buy banh mi. It's your typical Asian service cafe. Cool place to study at though! Freeeeee wifi!!!

Great flavors & fresh ingredients. I actually like the food & presentation. However, I took two stars off, even though part of me wanted to take more off, b/c the three times I went there in two weeks I waited for more than 30 minutes for my sandwich "to go". Noticing that larger orders after me (including one that had about 8 sandwiches) were out the door right away (these were obviously not phoned in orders). Is this an ethnic thing, b/c the two & then five customers that were "expedited" & had their orders ready before mine on both incidences were obviously asian (specifically Vietnamese). I know I don't look asian because i'm half white, but come on I'm a polite paying customer. I come in with a shirt & tie looking business professional & buy a couple things. Even when I traveled around the states for business, the South & mid-West never made me notice something like this and I'm not one to be paranoid to things like this b/c Westminster is almost my second home. At least the second time this situation happened the young, slender man who was the cashier had the decency to whisper "sorry" as if he shouldn't apologize. Mind you, it's not as if they forgot about my order, b/c I'm always in front of the pick-up counter waiting with the other customers.

I been here a few times the service and sandwiches is not that great. I still like Tip Top Sandwich better. There is nothing special about this place, none of the food or sandwiches stood out. There are lots of sandwich shops around Bolsa that taste 10x's better than this place...I would have to say good bye Lynda...

My favorite banh mi place! I try to stop by whenever I'm in the area to pick up a few banh mi to go. My favorite is the Chinese sausage with egg, but Lynda's special is good too, as is the veggie option (they use some kind of fake meat that tastes almost like pate!). You can customize your sandwich (extra meat, extra sauce, add fried egg, etc) but just be aware that doing so can rack up the price to $5 or more per sandwich. The sandwiches are made to order and take some time, but you can call in your order in advance. Lots of parking in the shopping plaza.

It's difficult to find a place that offers beignets around here. I normally go to Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen at Downtown Disney or Cafe Tourane in Garden Grove. As I was cruising down Beach Blvd, I decided to make a stop at Lynda Sandwich for their beignets and sandwich. The youngsters would like this place. The vibe was hip, cool, colorful, and comfy chairs or not. I ordered their original beignets with extra powder sugar and their special combo. sandwich. The beignets are made to order so it took around 10 minutes for the wait. Beignets - @ $3.95, you get between 20-22 triangle pieces which is pretty good for the price. I thought the size was perfect, it's not too small or too big. Since I am a dainty eater, I took two bites per piece....PERFECT.... with the extra powder sugar, it really kicked up a notch so that was plus. The down side was that it's a little too doughy. I preferred less dough, more fluff. They're still good, but not 5 star good. Special combo. sandwich - $3.75. It cost more than my favorite place, Tan Hoang Huong ($3.00). The shredded chicken was a little dry, the pickled veggies didn't taste like "pickled", too bland for me. Their cold cuts tasted about right and so was the french baguette. It was just alright. If you haven't been here before, it's worth a stop. I would not go out of my way for their food though. Although, their menu is quite eclectic. It's a little bit of everything. Maybe they should focus on a few things that they are quite good at instead of spreading themselves thin.

Tasty, the mayo they use has a good amount of spice. Wish they had a tad more meat and toasted the buns, but this place still compares slightly above the rest. Veggies are fresh as far as I can tell. I had the Lydia special. Grilled pork next time.

The sandwiches here are actually very good. The bread or baggette is good quality and not too buttery like Lees sandwich. My family have bought from here many times and they are quite consistent. I am happy with the service as well.

I came here after one year to see if they improved but their food is still the same stale cold bread , very less on the meat and got diary after eating her sandwiches.. Don't get me wrong I love their banh mi bo nuong but I dont want to spend all day in the bath room after eating there. Sorry to say but I'm done with this place.

Although I do not know the Vietnamese singer that owns this place, I do love her sandwiches! I wish that the red colored meat wasn't so fatty though.

My wife wanted to go to the grocery store where I bought live frogs. We got hungry and skipped past the chain food of Lee's Sandwich and luckily ordered here! The place is tiny and the ambiance is laid back. There were toddlers and elders eating and I couldn't help but notice all the autographed pictures of Vietnamese stars on the wall. I ordered a grilled chicken and my wife ordered a pork sandwich. We also ordered the cinnamon hot pastry deserts and some flaky garlic bread. My sandwich was spicy and very tasty. Definitely going to go back and try more on the menu. Oprah recommend some flavor of their ice cream. The smoothies also caught my eye. Yummy!

I know this is shocking but to be honest, I'm not the biggest fan of Vietnamese sandwiches despite 1. being Vietnamese and 2. being a giant lover of most all other sandwiches. And it's not that I dislike Vietnamese sandwiches, they're great-it's just not my favorite thing ever. But yah, why Vietnamese sandwiches are popular and loved by all? Pate, pickled vegetables, head cheese, baguette and home made mayonaise-that's so French-esque and it's deliciously sophisticated (if you think about it) but ridiculously affordable. That's what makes Vietnamese sandwiches great. So on behalf of my family (especially on behalf of my Vietnamese-sandwich adoring brother), I have to say that Lynda's offers a great sandwich with a skinnier easier to manage baguette size. I am from San Jose and my aunt will buy a whole giant bag of this stuff to bring back to San Jose when she goes to SoCal to visit.

I have been here a total of about 4 times! I love getting the Lynda Special!! For me, I don't really like too much of the pickled veggies, so I just ask for extra cucumber! The quality of the meat is very good and fresh! MUST TRY THEIR PASSION BLACK TEA!! DELICIOUS!

Love the food here! The only problem is that the wait time to get the food is too long. Then again, the product makes it kind of worth it. Food tastes better when you're hungrier.

Just had the cafe sua da. It wasn't as bittersweet as it should be for the traditional drink. The bitter coffee taste was off and so was the sweetness. I think instead of using Cafe Du Monde, which I personally think is a must, they might have used some instant coffee or something like that without as much chicory. It tasted really processed whatever it was. And as for the creamy sweetness you usually get with the condensed milk, this place kind of lacked. I've had other ones like this were this use half n half instead of condensed milk. Fat kids don't like this move. Please please don't do that people. Other than that the decor was nice and clean and service was fast. I might try their banh mi or something other than coffee if I ever come back.

this place feels like a hipster hangout there are orange walls and pictures of vietnamese celebrities all over the walls they serve a veggie banh mi it has a lot of unknown mystery vegan tofu products which was ok the bread was really good too the beignets were good too but there are way too many in a basket maybe cut the portion size down? I also got the iced coffee half sweet and it was really good friendly service

Oh haaayyyy!!! Warm and fresh benignant with powder sugar?! Yum yum! I went to Lynda two different times for benignant and oh man! Each time they were so good and tasty! I'll ignore the fact that the service was a little slow the last time I came here.. Tasty Benignant in my mouth.. can change that in a second :)

Best banh mi ever. So much better than that Lees place. Awesome BBQ pork. Friendly staff and great food. Never had a bad experience at Lynda's. Most I've the time I am the only white person in the place and that is really cool in my book.

Def not the best banh mi in town. Came here to try based on an article I read in the OC Register about hot spots in Lil' Saigon, including this place. Based on other Yelp reviews, I ordered the grilled pork and grilled chicken sandwich. Ups: The grilled pork and chicken were seasoned really well. The bread was fresh and had the right level of crunchiness. Downs: A bit pricey at $3.25 each. With so much other competition in town, it should've been cheaper. Also, I personally like my radish and cucumbers pickled all sweet and tangy. There wasn't nearly enough radish and it was too thinly sliced, like 1/2 the width of a piece of noodle and the cucumbers weren't pickled at all. Total bummer. Undecided: Can't comment on the Lynda sauce since I despise mayo. Plenty of parking spots and if you need groceries, there's a great grocery spot in the same plaza that's pretty clean and the vegetables are fresh.

I stopped by Lynda's Sandwich for a to-go order for hubby and sonny boy. As you walk in, the vibe is like a coffee shop but they offer bun rieu, banh mi, and other Vietnamese entrees. You order at the counter...but, it was a lil confusing looking at the menu board because it's all handwritten and all over the place! Look up at the menu board... look here for the specials...look here at the bakery counter. OMG, I just want simplicity! I ordered the chicken and grilled pork banh mi sandwiches to go from the very nice counter server. As I was waiting for my order, I was imagining eating a grilled salmon entree at the restaurant. It would be like dining at a Starbucks...umm, uncomfortable. Hubby and sonny boy thought their sandwiches were just "A-OK". Hubby said the bread was fresher than Lee's but he didn't care for the shredded chicken. Sonny boy said his sandwich was aight....nothing special. Lynda's Sandwich offers an inviting atmosphere, friendly service, and "A-OK" food. 3 Stars.

Food was sub par and the dessert wasn't good. Service was also lacking. I wouldn't go back or suggest this place to others.

Lynda Special. I get no pickled veggies. Its delicious! The bread is fresh, warm and crunchy. The meat is flavorful and a plenty! The service was quick and very friendly... The only downer is a lack of appetizers. When Lees is so close by and offering Egg Rolls, Spring Rolls, Wings, etc... I would have loved even one option at Lynda. Move over Banh Mi & Che Cali, I think this place might have replaced you as my favorite Banh Mi...!
