What a fabulous Ventura gem! Coffee is strong and smooth, vibe is beachy cool, and the sandwiches are heaven sent. The bread alone is a reason to stop by this coffee house. Each time I'm Ventura I can get a little work done in between appointments here.

What a pleasant find! When traveling I prefer local coffee houses, but often have to settle for the big chain for convenience. However today I found this place in a perfect location, easy to get in and out of, good coffee, good snacks, and nice people. Great seating too. I was sad at first that there was not a vegan option for a blended drink, when lo and behold the barista invented one for me!!! Very impressive!! I will make a note to stop here again when I'm in the area! Very yummy!

liked the place and it looked cool but don't try to get coffee 10 min before they close, cause they stop serving 10 min early and start closing the doors. Live music and cool atmosphere. However I pride a cold brew from him lol.

Despite the nice cashiers the manager came in and even though I had spent $10+ on coffee, tore my phone out of the outlet and said in a middle eastern accent,""No plug phone here, only computer!" When I pointed out to him that my phone IS a computer, and I was a paying customer, he did not care or understand. I will never return.

Worked here all day- good healthy food, quiet atmosphere, nice bathroom, free wifi, nice staff, cheap coffee

This place is right off the freeway and across the beach. Very small hole-in-the-wall wall kinda place but quaint! Stopped by on the way to SLO (on a thursday) and there was live music going on, which I think is hard to come by nowadays so I was pretty impressed. There's really nice art decorating the walls and the staff is super nice! I rate this place a four based off the atmosphere. I only got to try the lavender lemonade which was just ok. I liked that it was different but I wished there was more lavender in it.

My friend picked me up a mocha and breakfast bagel from here this weekend and both ended up in the trash. As she handed me my mocha she told me the 2 teenagers working didn't seem like they knew what they were doing...when it came to making my coffee drink she was right. It was burnt and smelled/tasted horrific. I had gotten up at 5am for an event and was hurting for caffeine but I couldn't take more than two sips of this. Our breakfast bagels were also of poor quality. The egg didn't even cover half the bagel and my friend said she thought they were instant powdered eggs by how they were being prepared. It came with a few slices of tomato, red onion, and a slice of odd tasting muenster cheese. We both threw away most of our bagels and with the coffee also in the trash this was sadly a breakfast fail. I definitely would not stop in again. UPDATE: Adding another star for now because the owner sent me a very nice professional message. I can't raise it higher because I really did have a bad experience with the food/coffee, but I was impressed with this service so I'll give Sandbox a try again next time I'm in the area.

So... The guy working was so high or so hung over that he had parked his car sideways through two spaces. And I had to tell him my order twice when he rang me up and then remind him three times what I had ordered! I could have told him anything in the menu and gotten it. That said, his espresso was still decent and so was the breakfast bagel so ... Three stars I guess.

Meh-- not great at all. I would expect more for a place in Ventura. Scones were great but drinks were sub par for a coffee shop and expensive. Nice location and place but need to improve quality. Owner (or manager) could have been more pleasant but guy making the drinks was nice. If you are in Ventura check out some other places first--This one doesn't impress.

Cute, quaint and healthy. I got a tuna sandwich and automatically came with carrot chips. Good move, owners. The sandwich itself was good and the red pepper was a tasty add. The service was great and fast, it did help that the place was slow at this time of the day. Overall great experience.

  • Adrien B.

Coffee was mediocre. Ordered a cafe mocha. Hubby got the espresso. Neither was anything to write home about. They had waffles on the day I went. For $5. It's just your standard hotel Belgian waffle and they didn't even fill it up all the way so I ended up with technically half a waffle. For $5! Total rip-off. My hubby ordered a breakfast bagel sandwich with ham and avocado and that was actually tasty.

Coffee is great and all their baked goods are vegan and delicious. Definitely coming back!

Okay, I surf and I'm biased about this coffee shop. Located near C-street, this coffee shop is a surfer's paradise in terms of layout and theme. I gravitated to this place right when I walked in to The Sandbox. Cute wooden fence line the front patio with picnic style tables laid out in the front with even a doggie water bowl on site. I regretted not bringing my dog! A dozen of surfboards are displayed outside and inside the shop. The cappuccino could use some improvement, but the outdoorsy, dog-friendly, surf themed environment makes up for the whole experience.

  • Sara N.

One of my favorite coffee spots! Sandbox blend by far is my go to drink every time! Love the atmosphere as well as the local art displayed!

Despite its fairly nice accommodations and decor, I felt kind of uncomfortable while I was here. At the odd hour I came in--an afternoon on a Monday--this place attracted some unsavory types. Between the homeless guy sleeping on this place's couch and the drug dealer smoking weed and peddling his wares outside, I kept my head down while I worked and enjoyed my drink. Clientele aside, this place seems like it might be a nice establishment. They have a strong offering of drinks and treats. The interior is not shabby. There are a lot of comfortable seating choices. Perhaps come on the weekend or after work?

  • Whitney s.

I've passed this place about 100 times but I've never stopped. I'm glad I did. I got the salmon sandwich and a lavender lemonade. The sandwich was delicious as was the lemonade. Will definitely be back!

I stumbled upon this place while waiting for a friend. The coffee shop itself is very cute, open, with free wifi. I love that they have outdoor seating, and quite a lot of it! I enjoyed everything I got here, and the service was super friendly. I read on their board that they have weekend bands, would give it a shot!

  • Alyss H.

Came here a couple times, once for some food and coffee, another to check out the kombucha and listen to live music. The food is good, service was friendly and helpful. The prices are fair too. The live music event was cool, they had a food truck stop by too. It's a lil cramped inside so not everyone can see the musicians. Maybe have the performances outside since there aren't many seats where the stage is? Also there was a toddler who was banging away acting like a drummer of the band and it was very distracting. Maybe the child was the musicians' but man it was not adding to the performance. It did seem very stuffy inside, maybe because of the glass windows and the sun beaming through it kind of made a green house effect, I would recommend sitting outside. The restroom was ok, only one though. I would return if I was In the area.

Great reding spot! I only like coffee shops that have comfortable couches for me to read in :) Todd the owner is a genuine guy and is always intent on keeping the place in shipshape. I really like the fruit smoothies and and the food rules. This place is my little hideaway.

  • Jenny E.

Not a hello or acknowledgement ... As the OWNER .. Stood right there making a coffee drink for a customer. I finally said can I leave this money here for a coffee ... He mumbled something. Not one hello or thankyou . I then commented on how busy the weekend has been. He replies... It always is. Lol ... I live right around the corner and see how dead the place is most of the time. I'll buy my coffee at another local shop. I appreciate local businesses and customer friendly people. This dude is in the wrong biz. He needs to come to the Aloha so I can show him what good customer service looks like

    (2)
  • Niki M.

The best iced coffee you'll find anywhere. You think what you've been drinking is great...until you have the iced coffee here. You'll long for it when you're at any other coffee shop. Great outdoor patio as well as indoor seating. The service has always been friendly and prompt. It's a very welcoming, laid back, beach bum vibe. Yes, some sketchy people can be seen frequenting the place, but that's not the business, that's downtown Ventura. You're going to find that at any shop there. I've seen more regular people than creepy ones there. I'm serious about that iced coffee. I'm probably going to have to go get some now.

    (4)
  • Terry K.

Depressing environment matched only by the depressing food. Microwaved eggs served on a tasteless bagel by a unclean looking individual. Won't be returning.

  • D I.

Cozy. Definitely a local-feel coffee shop. Never crowded, close to the beach. Sandwiches are as fresh and tasty as their coffee. Hint: If you're trying to get some work done on the laptop, or sketching your next masterpiece, you can work hard or play hard at Sandbox.

    (5)
  • Angel M.

Location is good, parking is just bit limited.. They have a very cozy place.. Service is great.. Surely and definitely be back on thid place.. Try the sandbox blend its really good even though im not a coffee drinker..

  • Darren L.

Stopped in for an iced Mocha. Super strong and delicious! Perfect for a hot afternoon. Had a nice chat with the guy behind counter while he did his thing. Cool place. Low key and quiet.

  • Debra R.

Ventura needed a coffee shop like this one. I am regular because I like their tropical iced tea, it is light and bright with local surf art displayed, the sandwich selection is great, and they keep making improvements. Comfy couches have been added recently, in addition to numerous tables inside and out. It has free wi-fi, it's casual, and the servers are friendly and low key. I enjoyed the live music on my last visit, but if there's no live music, they play nice background music. I visit about once a week since it's only blocks from the beach and provides free parking. The 101 northbound entrance is nearby, making it easy to swing by.

    (5)
  • Sarah M.

Great place to study, they have lots of tables for groups. Outlets are available throughout the place, as well as the computer bar area they have. All the food I've had has been good, reasonably priced. Good wifi, I suggest charging your laptop and sitting outside, it's beautiful!

  • Todd H.

The sandbox Coffeehouse is a great find in Ventura! the staff, the grill chef, the baristas, the owner, and the open mic host are all friendly and welcoming, and passionate about what they do. Great sandwiches, yummy beer, and a wonderful open mic on Thursday nights with everything from music to slam poetry to comedy- this is my new favorite hangout in Ventura! sometimes the traffic outside can be a little noisy, and if you're hanging out on the patio on a weekend it can be distracting to your relaxation or the music, but they have no TV (major plus), a clean restroom, delicious food and drink, beautiful art on the walls, and cozy surf coffeehouse decor! I'll definitely be going back.

    (5)
  • Melinda G.

Great $1 drip coffee...and the Cranberry orange muffin...mmm..yummy. I love that this place doubles as a music venue. Very fun place and the owner is great. Thank you Sandbox.

  • Jean Y.

Great sandwich I had at the Sandbox. A memorable roast turkey one! From my experience, I really didn't expect much from 'a turkey sandwich'. This one was different! Chocolate brown color bread had a special taste, not like multigrain or whole wheat kind of thing, the bread was just that good and fresh. Didn't have lettuce style veges either, some cute greens, tomato slice , cheese and turkey which had roast taste. Ice tea was also excellent. Definitely not Lipton. it had a bit of tropical aroma, though not too much. Live music on Sunday afternoon by the ocean, nothing can;t beat that! So far Capriccio on Main was my reason to drive out to Ventura, now I have Sandbox also. Cool! Service was kinda slow.

    (4)
  • Sara B.

Not a fan. The place is filthy, no greeting as you walk in, coffee is self serve and 4 out of 5 dispensers were empty. The one dispenser that I was able to get coffee from was filled with burned old coffee. My breakfast bagel was so grossed I just tossed it. Waste of money.

The kid was too busy chatting up his girlfriend( that was not an employee and just hanging out) to make my sandwich. When he finally did make it (20 min wait and I was late to work because of this) he gave it to someone else! I had to wait even longer for him to make mine and he didn't make it right! So I had to wait even longer for him to fix it! How bummed am I! I go there every morning and I will never go back again. They also falsely advertise kombucha and everyday I ask for it and they don't have it. TAKE DOWN THE CHALKBOARD SIGN OUT FRONT THEN!

  • Hank M.

There's a first time for everything... Never had to ask for a refund for the iced latte. I threw it in the garbage and asked her why it tasted like water. She started to remake it and I asked what kind of milk. NON-FAT. I asked for whole and she said they don't carry it. I said forget and she said , sorry, bye. NO. I'll take a refund thank you. YUCK

The drinks are well worth it! Average pricing and I am loving this blended chai! It's so so flavorful :) I got a strawberry banana smoothie for my boys and I tasted it and it's super amazing! I'm very picky too so I'm very happy with this experience... Easy to find, great atmosphere... I recommend . The wifi password could be shorter and easier ;)

    (5)
  • Anita C.

The drinks are amazing and so is the food! I love getting a veggie sandwich with and cappuccino in a mug:) do my homework or just relax with a friend! Great atmosphere and the employees are so nice and easy going. The ingredients are fresh and delicious

Husband is a coffee snob, but was pleasantly surprised by the coffee. He normally loves French pressed coffee, but the one offered is for two so he just got a medium roast in the carafe. He drank the whole cup and pronounced it "pretty good!" Staff was nice and attentive.

Its ok...nothing great, nothing horrible. Just happens to be a couple blocks from home.

Best $1-2 cup of coffee on the West Coast.

  • Krista K.

The coffee was okay. My friend did not like her Lavender Tea. She said it barely tasted like Lavender. I think she was being nice, because when I tried it, I didn't taste any. The owner was not warm and welcoming, and seemed annoyed with us for taking a couple minutes to decide on our order. It was the first time coming to this place for both of us. We sat on the couches on the right of the counter. They were comfortable, but it got really hot over there with no windows to open. Service was meh+ Atmoshphere meh+ Drinks meh+ =A-ok I was not impressed, probably won't come back soon which is a bummer since the location is the best thing about this place!

  • Jessica H.

I've only come here twice, but both times were great. Excellent iced coffee and a nice patio outside. Inside offers great seating and everything is kept pretty clean. It's close to the beach, so if you want to grab some coffee before walking to Surfer's Point, this is your spot. Parking is easy and accessible (they have their own lot). Recommended if you want something other than Starbucks and Palermo's is too packed!

  • Oulie T.

Cute coffee house located a bit off the main drag. I like the wooden picnic benches and deck right outside the front entrance. Great place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee with nature. Inside its cozy and intimate. They feature local freshly baked goods. I tried the blueberry scone which was good but a bit sweet. Lots of hipsters seem to frequent it here but then again it is a coffee shop so that's to be expected.

  • Alexson L.

This was a decent find in Ventura (I'm not local). It's in a great location right next to the beach and within a quick walk from downtown. Patio is excellent, and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Breakfast bagel was worth the penny and the iced coffee was very unique (not as bold as I am accustomed to, and had hints of sweetness). The place itself looks like a revamped diner/fast food joint. It looks very chill. I would love to come back for live music.

  • Lindsay H.

My family and I stumbled across Sandbox Coffee house while we were on a bike ride. There was live music playing while we were there, which was really nice. The food was great! I ordered a veggie sandwich and it was delicious. Will def try them out again. Great rest stop while on bikes.

Amber's contemporary coffee house / third space quest Destination One review: Sandbox Coffeehouse (in which I try to recapture the je ne sais quoi of the times gone by of Ventura coffeehouse culture and find my local, based on my explicit criteria) Location: tiny corner plaza, adjacent to head shop, mac repair joint and best pizza in town... this combination is inriguing, and yet, it's overall also a bit trafficky for a chill spot. Music playing upon entry: Rolling Stones best of Ordered: Cappuccino and Chocolate Chip Scone Food review: B. Very homemade-tasting, rich buttery scone. Didn't love the espresso roast, but the cap was very well-made, and promptly so. Menu had sandwiches but not too many sweets, and let be clear: I require sweets. Perfectly professional service. Grown-up. Wi-Fi: YEP! Outlets: nep. Environs: chill, sandy-colored California vibe. Kinda Pet-Soundsy. Nice bathroom. Everything tidy, homey and clean. Coffee table books, not horrible at all art, and a variety of seating options. I chose the leather couch in the sunny corner to work on a book review and some writing. Had to employ earbuds to drown out conversation, so possibly a better conversation/meetup space than thirdspace for work. Lots of outdoor seating, but in full sun, and subject to a lot of street noise. Given that the patio is fully enclosed in fencing, it seems like they should consider raising the height and adding some greenery to make a quieter, more gardeny feel. That would be my preference, anyway. Verdict: with the flexibility of this space and its proximity to downtown and the beach, it seems like a very, very useful social location. Further cozy-fying of the seating options would suit me, but Sandbox is definitely hitting their mark as a lunch-in-the-sun meets quiet-cuppa joint. Promising first entry in my competition.

Was blown away with the breakfast bagel. Short walk from where I'm staying at the Clock Tower Inn. I woke up late an Inn only serves breakfast till ten. Stumbled on this place. Turkey and avocado was delicious!!! With juice for 6$!?!?! unheard of in sacramento !! Will be coming back all weekend! Turkey sandwich is delicious too awesome they had sliced carrots to go on the side too! Super cute lil place with great food comfy couch and cool books!! Haha def try it!

We live a few blocks away and stopped by today for the first time for a quick afternoon coffee. The shop was bright and clean with a nice menu of drinks, sandwiches, and salads. We ordered 2 Sandbox ice blended coffee drinks without carmel ($4 each). While we were waiting for our order I noticed their dessert display with assorted pastries, HUGE muffins and one lonely lemon bar - my favorite. We had to add that (suprisingly only $2). The drinks were awesome. Better than Starbucks' Frap! The lemon bar? Amazing, it tasted like the ones my grandma makes. I already told my honey that I want to go back for another coffee tomorrow.

Good sandwiches and coffee, but be prepared to have some idiot screaming obscenities from the top of his lungs into a microphone that is audible through the walls of the office building across the intersection. If you don't mind being bombarded with F-bombs, while you consume your lunch then this is your place. As I have no choice but to listen to the amplified crap from my office, I will no longer frequent this coffeehouse at any time in the hopes that its doors close and a new operator who is more sensitive to its neighbors takes its place.

  • Ethan U.

I had exact change the other morning, so I stopped in for a cup of coffee. There were two other customers in the store at around 8 o'clock in the morning. Three of the four available coffee pots on the counter were totally empty, so we stood in line for the one remaining pot. For some reason they keep the dairy products in a refrigerator out of sight behind the counter. Sometimes you have to ask for them, sometimes they offer. I want to spend money here, I really do! But for some reason they don't seem to be able to get things running smoothly. I guess I will make coffee at home or -ugh- go to Starbucks.

Great latte and breakfast bagel. Perfect for a post surf place to get work done if you work remotely. Lots of tables, counters and chairs to work from. Surf pics all over. Great location. I'll be back!

It was walking distance from the loft we were staying at. The coffee was hot and flavorful. The pastries were brought in and were tasty. Good start to two lovely days in Ventura.

My favorite coffee shop in Ventura. I only go to local coffee shops and won't go to the big chains. I love that they have comfy couches and you can order french press coffee.

    (5)
  • Denni T.

They have since installed a cool bike rack and added some couches. Sandbox also has open mic night on Thursdays; acts including music & comedy. They have also begun selling beer and have a great job over the last few months making their location more inviting. Also ask about the locally cultivated kombucha ... Lisa, one of the employees has been bottling and selling her own creation at the coffee shop. Keep up the good work!

    (4)
  • Heather C.

Cute little independent coffee shop they offer coffees for all pockets from a $1 through to $4.50. Cakes were great too the chocolate brownie was heavy to hold but incredibly light to eat. The carrot and zuchinnie cake was lovely too. All added up with an easy exit from the 101 was great. Watch for the bathroom though the door doesn't lock!

  • Franklin M.

On our drive up to Santa Barbara we were getting hungry and stopped in Ventura. We ordered some breakfast bagels and coffee. The bagels were really good but could have been better if they used onion, garlic, dry tomato or some other variety. This would add more flavor to an already tasty treat, and the prices were very reasonable.

If you're looking for a place to chill w/coffee and do some work for awhile, this place is adequate. Scenery is of a busy intersection with an expressway behind you, but there are lots of windows, so lots of light, and the buildings on the other side of the streets are funky old Ventura structures. If you want a work break, the beach is right behind you under the pass-through under the 101. Coffee is good, free wi-fi. This is definitely a locals joint, the opposite of a chain. For me, that's a feature. That means you have to live with some rough edges. Chairs are wood and make a lot of noise when moved because the floor is painted cement. Tables are little somewhat rickety rounds (deuces) or older formica rounded corner (4-tops). In the main seating area, there is one ... ONE ... outlet with two plugs. And it's located 10 feet from the lone bathroom (unisex), on the rickety small round table side. That's a bummer. There's an outdoor seating area with a few older large picnic tables, really close to the street though. A short fence surrounding the area gives you some privacy. But no covering or trees. Looks like a very nice selection of sandwiches. Indoor "decor" is full of local photographers work hanging on painted cement walls, and some surfboards stacked in the corner, so that's kind of interesting. Nice-sized free parking lot off to the side. Kid-friendly, some kids toys, crayons etc. on the tables.

Nice place with a patio and such. Locals looking place with a offer of the dollar cup. One dollar cup patron was enjoying the patio a little too much, sitting there with his cart in tow and a fresh hangover he was head down and looked to be barely surviving. I believe the dollar cup brings out the best in the street.... Aside from that I had the cuban espresso and it was sweet and strong. My wife had a cappucino but was not impressed. I would come back for the cuban, I would pop in while riding my motorcycle since it looks to be a fairly outside friendly place.

Great little coffee place within walking distance to the beach. I haven't had a coffee yet but the Sandbox Ice Blend with caramel was delicious and very reasonable on price. Staff are friendly and the place has a good vibe.

Yay! Finally a coffee house that I love! I'm so sick of all the other ones around.... seriously, no kidding. I get so tired of the same old stuff. Sure, there is Starbucks and Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf that everyone loves but I am tired of that! It feels so generic to me, I don't know... maybe it's just me? I want a place that screams at me and says "Welcome to happiness!" when I walk in the door. This place does that. It smells fantastic. Their coffee is superb and it's an art gallery too! It's right by the beach in Ventura, you can seriously walk to the beach. It's also right within walking distance of the main strip in Ventura "Main Street" and across from Tony's Pizza. This place is the kind of place I love. It's hip! It has amazing coffee! It has sandwiches (you can smell them omg from outside).. and the people who work there, all I can say is you want to become their best friends! They're amazing! I want to go back there again and again and again! AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Solid place with friendly staff. Coffee is just above average and the bagel sandwich was standard. Worth going but nothing special...

  • Heidi R.

Super delicious coffee. But I have never waited so long for a bagel sandwich. After 25 minutes I left. Rule #1 don't ever get mad at customer! All they should have said is "we are a little slow today. Might be a while" & I would have ordered accordingly. I wanted to like this place. Bottom line. Great coffee spot. Expect an extremely leisurely wait for food.

  • Hilary W.

Just grabbed some coffee and tasty treats from here. The owner was there- super pleasant guy who said they just opened a week ago. The coffee was delicious and service friendly. The only constructive feedback I'd offer (since they just opened) is to add some character to the space with perhaps some artwork, comfy places to sit, etc. Warm up the ambiance to make it a place where people really want to spend time. And with such a fantastic near the beach location, you could really make it into a quirky spot that people love!

When my wife and I first dropped in here, they were just getting started and didn't have menus printed up yet. We were looking for breakfast, so the woman at the counter was really nice and made us some excellent breakfast bagels with eggs, muenster cheese and bell pepper. Great way to start the day!

Found this great coffee shop while spending some time in Ventura. Absolutely fell in love with it and kept coming back for the coffee and sandwiches. Customer service was exceptional and the restaurant itself was spotless. I enjoyed the local artists photographs on the wall and the surfboards used as decor. I will visit again when I'm in the area.

Nice cafe close to the freeway in Ventura. It had a couple of sofas and some outdoor seats. Not a huge variety of drinks but enough. We tried the mochas with rice milk and soy milk respectively. They weren't quite chocolately enough for our taste but the coffee itself was good. I would go again if passing but wouldn't make a trip there directly.

Chicken salad sandwich is good and the seasoning they had to the carrot chips is delicious. I believe they had the same seasoning to their breakfast bagel sandwich which is pretty good.

Where to start? My wife and I love this place! Being new to the area, we were looking for a great bagel place and Sandbox delivered. We have been regulars ever since! I always get a Breakfast Bagel and it honestly can't be beat. It comes with Muenster Cheese, Egg, Tomato, and Onion. You can also add Ham or Turkey for a small charge. The Sandbox Blend beats Starbucks Caramel Frappuccino every day of the week. They also have great healthy sandwiches. Every time friends come to town to visit, we always take them here. Great location, friendly staff, great food, and low prices. I highly recommend Sandbox to every coffee drinker and sandwich lover in Ventura County. Live music, great photography, and comfortable seating is just the icing on the cake.

Not my favorite coffee shop in the 805. I came here and had a latte and it was not very good. The coffee did not have much flavor. I ended up throwing away half of it. I went on a Thursday night and they had local performers, I applaud their support for local musicians! The concept of the coffee shop did not work for me. It is kind of weird to have regular benches outside a coffee house. I probably will not visit this coffe shop again, unless I am in desperate need of coffee and the only other coffee shop avaialbe is starbucks.

A girlfriend and I met here for coffee with our toddlers on a weekday morning. Good coffee, delish pastries, smoothies were YUMMY!!!, and the atmosphere was kid friendly. The staff was incredibly warm and friendly, thanking us for coming in and inviting us back again soon. We'll definitely return! Probably going to make this the spot for our standing coffee date.

Stopped by today while traveling through the area and looking for a place to relax and decompress. Had a refreshing glass of tea and enjoyed the patio. Owner was super nice gave me a scone and my dog a treat, even offered me a place to sleep on the patio! (im backpacking around and look like a gypsy with things strapped, tied, and dangling from every possible point of attachment) awesome photography and art throughout the shop. Great shop, Bravo!

Great atmosphere! Enjoyed the French press for 2 with my boyfriend today! Was enough for about 5 cups! Live music on the patio. Great place to enjoy coffee near the beach! For sure going to come back to try the food!

Comfortable seating, welcoming atmosphere, wifi, good place to work, very friendly staff. Occasionally get some obnoxious customers (e.g. they'll have exceptionally loud conversations with people several tables away instead of sitting near their conversation partner, or they'll try to share one of the couches with you, or will monopolize staff attention). So in terms of being a good place to focus, it's probably only a 3/5...there are quieter spots. Anyway no complaints about the business...the coffee was a bit bitter for my taste, but I'm very sensitive to it since I'm a pretty new coffee drinker. I can't remember what sandwich I ordered but it was decent and hit the spot.

Haven't tried the coffee yet but the staff was very friendly & my sandwich was amazing! Ordered the veggie sandwich, added turkey & spicy mustard. Looked like something out of a magazine & tasted phenomenal! I hope this place sticks around!

My wife and I stopped in on our way home from a day trip to Ventura. We ordered soy lattes (mine with skinny mocha), and they were excellent. Smooth, not bitter, and my mocha tasted like Hershey's syrup but was sugar-free! Spotlessly clean, bright and sunny, freshly planted flowers in their flower beds on the patio showed the owners really cared to keep the place up and well-tended. Great personalized service, too. We'll be back!

Very well priced menu. Sandwiches are a must have. The Veggie is my favorite. The bread they use is my absolute favorite. The owner is always in to say hello and is friendly as usual. I highly recommend this place to any passer by or local!

This is a great coffeehouse and EXACTLY what was missing on the westside of Ventura. A friend and I came to do some work this afternoon. The drinks are very well priced, and the coffee was very good. We decided to stay for lunch, and my salad was a great value and pretty tasty. My friend had a tuna salad sandwich, which she seemed to enjoy as well. The management is super friendly, and I will definitely be back again in the near future.

Can be a bit noisy for studying in the main indoor seating area, but there are lots of other places to sit inside and out. The chicken salad sandwich was very nice. The drip coffee is solid, and the french press is a really nice option for better quality coffee. Plenty of outlets, and free wifi.

Charming coffee shop. Friendly and neighborly, with a bit of funkiness (the good kind) thrown in. Stopped in for lunch. Had a very healthy chicken salad sandwich (made with spinach leaves and chopped carrots on the side. Reasonably priced and delicious. Comfy, unpretentious surroundings and cheerful friendly staff, WIFI and good choice of music make this a place I will come back to.
