Been to this place quite a few times now...can't get enough of the chicken pesto panini. I've tried others..but that is definitely my fave. It's a little pricey just for a sandwich, but it definitely doesn't compare to subway or even panera. Ingredients are always fresh - even the soups. Try to order ahead of time though because it sometimes takes a while to get your order. Not a lot of seating either so i always take mine to go!

Incredibly friendly service. Delicious Sandwiches, reasonable price point. Definitely worth the stop if you are in the area.

Awesome experience. It was my first time coming here & I honestly only stopped in because I was starving and already at the next door gas station. To my surprise it was very cute and clean inside, and almost all the seats were full. Luckily my order was to go. I'm vegetarian and they have a nice selection of options, I went with the killer tomato sandwich under the suggestion of the woman behind the counter. I got the half sandwich with the small broccoli and cheddar soup. Both were very good! A bit pricey but i do believe in paying for quality which is exactly what this is. I can't wait to try the other things on their menu! Great food and close to home, I will be returning and definitely recommending this place to friends

Love this place! Sandwiches are awesome!

  • Whitney W.

I just stopped by for lunch- I had the tomato killer sandwich and it was delicious! But my girlfriend had the chicken salad and it was very bland and boring. The girl working was very nice and fresh baked cookies came out of the oven and it smelled amazing! I would go back again if I lived in the area

I have absolutely nothing negative to say about The Sandwitch! This place is amazing :) I drive all the way from Rancho/Fontana just to eat here. Quality ingredients, delicious food, fast and friendly customer service and reasonable prices. The Sandwitch is definitely my go to ma and pa sandwich shop! My favorite is The Coven, but I get it cold. Such soft, fresh sourdough bread. Mmm mmm mmm! I recommend everyone try this place.

  • Lulu G.

I ordered the Sleepy Hollow with bacon provolone cheese and peppered turkey. It was creamy and tasty! Definitely want to try more items on the menu!

  • Elizabeth G.

Amazing sandwiches it's always hard to choose a sandwich because there's so many different types to choose from. My FAVORITE is the coven so far ! Friendly service and the place is nice love it!!

  • Davina N.

They just had a change in management, but they still get pretty busy. I would give them four stars but whenever I put in a phone order they put me on hold right away even when I know what I want and it takes five seconds to write down. P.s. Prices have been raised so that's why I had to drop another star. Not really worth the price. The witch (if you want the cold subs) and the dragons breath (if you want the hot paninis) are the best.

  • Jason G.

I'll start by saying that the quality of the food is really good and they make tasty sandwiches. BUT make sure you have time to kill. I have been more than once and every time I go it has taken a long time to get our order. This time took especially long, 25 minutes for 2 sandwiches. I would recommend for the food, just don't be in a hurry to get anywhere.

  • Laurie S.

Delicious sandwiches! Well worth the price and wait time.

Ordered the broomstick. It was delicious. Service was super slow. But we will come back to try other sandwiches.

Love this place. I have tried most of their sandwiches and all super tasty. Macaroni salad and potato salad is always great. My favorite sandwich is The B.L.A.C.K C.A.T. so delicious. I got my mom, sisters, and friends hooked. I tell everyone about this great little sandwich spot.

    (5)
  • Genesis M.

I just ate here for lunch they were busy but had fast service. The staff was friendly. I ordered the B.L.A.C.K C.A.T they were very generous with the bacon we also ordered Dragon's Breath and the Avocado Lovers sandwich. The Dragon's Breath was just the right amount of spicy. You taste the chipotle chilies most. They carry Pepsi products. They also have highchair available. The decor was cute not over the top. I took away one star due to the finish on the table we sticky at was sticky and chipping. Over all it's a great place to eat.

I have always loved the Sandwitch from the old owners to these new, I have been faithful. I rarely stray from the Voodoo or the Wicked Witch. I was a little bummed when I called my order in today asking for no lettuce or onion and extra pesto and when I got home there was lettuce and onion and little pesto. I can't knock it too much since this is the first time I have ever had an issue with my order from here. Also there is one girl who is always happy and went above and beyond today when I had a longer wait that usual. She has a few tattoos and was wearing silver and black sparkle shoes. So sorry I don't know her name. The Sandwitch is the spot for all your salad and sandwich needs and who doesn't love Halloween decor?

  • Monica M.

The service is so nice and warm, and their sandwiches are tasty. The place is a little too small, but it's decorated so cute that I don't care! The paninis are the best, just trust me. AND try one of their cookies.....yes yes yes! p.s. I really wish they were opened later in the day :(

I went in here on a whim because of yelp. I have no regrets, it is delicious here! I really recommend this place!

I just ate here for the first time and the food was outstanding! I had the white cat sandwich and it was delicious. I will definitely be coming back for more! Very, very good.

  • Hektor R.

the broomstick is very good, and quite filling. it can easily be shared. that sandwich is the only reason i'm not asking for negative stars. TL;DR TOP 3 FOR WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EXPERIENCE EVER i've been here many times, and i'd keep going if they hired better staff. the last time i was there, i stood in line with two friends for maybe 2 minutes while the young lady CONTINUED her conversation with her friend about very personal matters. i have no idea what was going on in her head as she made eye contact with me, phone in hand, and walked AWAY from the register to the back room. she actually continued her conversation quite blithely as another customer walked in. there were 4 patrons and she didn't care one bit. i decided not to buy anything, but stood there to see how long it would take for her to hang up. well, she outlasted me. i walked out with my group, but i doubt that made her hang up.

Went there for the first time because my husband and I saw an ad in the clipper magazine! Needless to say we loved it!!! It was delicious and very fresh. Cant wait to go back!

I hesitated going here for the longest time, but am SOOO glad I finally went. I had The Witch on sourdough and it was freaking awesome! Highly recommend this place when you need something filling but not greasy and fast food-ish.

The best sandwiches anywhere! Fresh ingredients, creative but not weird menu items, great service and a fun, relaxing ambiance. A MUST visit. We stop every chance we get. My partner is gluten intolerant so they wrap her sandwiches in lettuce and do whatever they can to make it yummy and special. AWESOME!!

Wrote a bad review of this place like a month ago cause of thier horrible service, and the owner apologized and promised me a coupon for a free sandwich via email, and I have yet to recieve the owners email????

i just moved to the rancho area so while in search of a yummy sandwich shop i stumbled upon this little gem. Initially i was amused with the play on words but soon found out their food is all business in a word delicious!!! They encouraged us to try half and half sammy combos which was an awesome way of really exploring the menu. I had the chicken pesto panini (my fav.) and the coven which was also pretty good. The decor follows the witch theme and is rather amusing the only drawback was how hot it was in there ,ceiling fans don't do much in this socal heat! i've gone back twice already it's that good! dare i say the best panini's in town!!!!!

    (4)
  • R C.

Not many good sandwich places around, however this one is excellent. The establishment is clean, friendly service and the prices are very reasonable. Only drawback is no fountain machine, you have to buy canned/bottled soda. No big deal, I'm just a fan of fountain drinks. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!

By far the best sandwich place I have ever tried! Goodbye subway! The only downside is that they aren't open Sundays...

  • Lee W.

My friend and I went to The Sand Witch for lunch based on their excellent reviews here on Yelp. I really wanted to like the place, but couldn't. Sandwiches here cost almost $7.00 and you get nothing with them, not even a pickle spear. Besides being overpriced, neither of the two sandwiches we ordered were very good. My friends chicken salad sandwich was extremely soggy and my roast beef sandwich lacked flavor. The bread they use doesn't have a good texture or even taste fresh baked, but instead tastes as if it came from the supermarket shelves. The one thing I really liked though was their homemade soup. Their baked potato soup was delicious, however I ordered and paid for a large soup and received a small soup. I wish I had gotten more of their soup. Since I got my order "to go", I did not realize they gave me the wrong size soup until I got home. Both my friend and I only ate half our sandwiches and through the other half away. If I go back again it will just be to purchase soup.

My family tried out this local shop after purchasing a groupon. . . would have missed out! Great sandwiches and probably a sandwich for every tastebud out there. AS first timers it was hard to decide but we received some good suggestions from the staff. We will definitely recommend this local shop. It seemed that lots of people swing by for lunch-to-go as the line kept getting longer behind us.

I stopped in to check it out and was very pleased with the Chicken and smoked ham panini. It was delicious and I will return again!! BTW it has free wifi... so it is a perfect spot to have a great lunch and get some business emails done. It is my kind of place!!

Today I went to the Sand Witch for the second time. First time I drove up from OC because of the Yelp reviews and today I happen to be in the area. This place is incredible. Seriously. I had the half and half, the VooDoo (10 stars!) and the Wicked Witch add bacon (thanks to the suggestion). The VooDoo hands down is one of the best sandwiches I've ever eaten. These guys are killing it and doing it with a smile. I will be back and have no issue driving the distance to have it! Thanks Bobby!

Food made with love. Very cute interior decor. Friendly and helpful staff that are on top of service. Will def come back. Highly recommended. I got the white witch, it's a toasted turkey sandwich on jalapeño and cheese bread with a delicious avocado paste. I also got cole slaw, the cole slaw is delicious and crunchy, everything made FRESH, there was no signs of frozen food. My boyfriend got the wicked witch, a toasted Italian sub. So you can imagine how delicious that was!

AMAZING SANDWICHES!! I'm normally not a fan of sandwich but I'll eat em. But this place is off the hook. Everything is made fresh and good service. Here are the reason why you all need to give a place a try.... Pros: freshly made, cute place to go for lunch, stamp card and the best thing about it.....they keep it for you per request if you go their offend, BEST BAKED POTATO SOUP IN TOWN (better than Black Angus), delicious chicken noodle soup, every sandwich comes with a cute name (makes you wanna try everything in the menu), all sandwiches are good (I've tried a lot of them), reasonable priced around $7 to $8 bucks, you can order 1/2 a sandwich with a salad or soup of your choice, meal cost average $10 but very worth it, GREAT SERVICE. Cons: small place, small parking, very hidden and hard to find, can take a bit long but you know it is FRESH, if you are on a time crunch then do not go. Overall: I love this place, 5 stars all the way, awesome service and sandwich sections, never bad, love the soups and worth the wait.

Today was my first experience at the sand witch. I'm not from the area so when I asked a few friends where I should go for lunch this was the only place anybody could talk about. Everyone was raving about how good the sandwiches were I thought to myself how good could they really be its just a sandwich. But after eating there I understand the hype unbelievable food great quality and even better customer service. guaranteed I'll be stopping in whenever I'm in the area

  • Alex P.

I have been searching for a great tuna melt. I had been here years ago and thought I would give them another try. Their Tuna Melt was big and very good, almost great. The tuna was good, the tomato was good, the rest was good and it all went together so good. I think this could be my new favorite place to eat. The service was great, the blonde behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful. Thank you for a great experience.

I was in class down the street and decided to check this place out. As soon as I walked in i was greeted by the staff. I ordered "The Witch" sandwich by recommendation of the cashier. The sandwich exceeded my expectations by miles! The bread was delicious and all the food inside was perfectly portioned and well positioned, not messy at all. Will definitely come back.

Great variety of unique sandwiches to choose from as well as the option to make any of the sandwiches a half size for people wanting something smaller. Can get a tad bit pricey for sandwiches depending on what you get but all in all great first visit would definitely return in the future

The Food here is very good and the gals who work there are nice. I must say my favorites are the Cobb Web Salad & Dragon Egg Sandwich. The shop Is tucked away West of Mountain Ave on 9th.St but is a great find for quality food and good service.

We found this place by chance by looking at yelp. It's right near our house but kind of off of the beaten path. We definitely enjoyed it! The sandwiches are great, lots of options, fresh ingredients, and very hot (for the grilled sandwiches). I will definitely return! We had the coven and another one with chicken on jalapeño bread (the name escapes me) and shared. We both loved both. Nevertheless, we are so happy we found this place and will definitely return!

So, I have recently been on a panini quest. In search for the best paninis in my area, and I must say, they take the cake. They are packed with flavors and textures that go so well together, it makes panera bread look like Mc Donald's to in-n-out. And that says a lot. I love this place, the them if great! And the music is probably the best I've heard in any restaurant ever in my entire life, and that matters. You should defiantly try this place, you will not regret it at all.

I had lunch here with my mother and sister, we had delicious sandwiches that were very creative in design and were wowed by the kind staff. We received great customer service and by the time we finished lunch felt like we were right at home. We will definitely go back.

These sandwiches are awesome. They are always huge and packed with fresh ingredients. They have hot and cold sandwiches, chocolate chip cookies, peanut butter cup cookies, chips, soups, salads, and they just brought back the "Crystal Ball" meatball sandwich which was delicious. Also try the "Calico" of the secret menu it is really good too. Their tortilla soup is very good too. Another great thing is they made a sandwich special, just for my 2 year old son. The staff are super friendly like that. They also have high chairs available.

  • Adrianna P.

I came here yesterday afternoon. My boyfriend spotted it out and we decided to try it out... One word AMAZING! Both of our sandwiches were so full of flavor and the meats were so fresh! The girl at the front was so friendly and recommended the two top selling subs. We had the wicked witch and the coven both were delicious. We paid about 18.00 for both sandwiches and one fountain drink! I am very picky and the price seemed high at first but we still wanted to try it first. We loved it worth the price! One thing I wish the sandwiches were bigger I feel like they are a bit small for the price... Other than that definitely a must try.

I first came here in mid 2013 and had the pesto chicken panini. My reviews for this sandwich at the time was a 4.5 out of 5. Damn near perfect. And then I found out that this place was closing down. I didn't keep up with the news well enough and fast forward to the present time someone had told me a frequent customer ended up buying and the rest is sandwitch history. So, I recently came back and I started with my first choice ever which was the chicken pesto panini. Still great. Then a few days later I came back and ordered the roast beef sandwitch. I noticed a red flag when I two men sitting already waiting for their order to be brought out. And there was a young guy in front of me and an older gentlemen in front of him. The ass in front took so long just chating with who I assume is the owner was just doing that, chating. Not placing an order just bullshiting. To no exaggeration he took a little over 5 minutes to talk. After that ended, he didn't apologize for being rude and didn't even acknowledge the waiting people. He did the I know the owner look back, classic upland asshole. Mind you the two men upon entrance are still waiting. Then the young guy in front of me proceeded to order the same thing I had in mind which was the roast beef. Placed his order and moved on, one minute tops. Then I did the same thing ordered mine and proceeded to wait. After minute ten the wait started to seem long. Then I still notice the two men upon entrance are still waiting!!!! Then I see the server bring out the young guys meal before the two men that have been their forever. That made me a little upset cause I noticed the two mens reaction. They were very passive and didn't say anything. Then about two minutes later their food finally comes out. They didn't say anything other than thank you which was very nice of them. Then shortly after my food was ready. But what really made me mad is the main reason orders were coming out sync is that some of the sandwiches are prepped and thrown in the microwave, which means some items take a long time and items take about a minute or two. Microwaves do not belong in mom and pop shops, they don't belong in publicly served kitchens, but it will continue to happen. Now, upon unveiling this thing, the calssic quick melt of the microwave created a plasticky cheese texture as most of you know. That was all I needed to base this review, IT COULD HAVE BEEN GREAT WITH A TOP BROILER. I even went back and tried two more sandwiches and the end result was just mediocre at best. Just lackluster in flavor. Needs more experimenting, try new things. And last but not least if a sandwich shop doesn't even make their own pasta or potato salad, that is a major red flag. Using Reser's Brand is horrible. That's pure lazyness.

The Sand Witch holds a very very special place in my heart. I lOVE this place. So cute and unique with a good price. The sandwiches are large so they fill you up well, and are extremely tasty! My favorite one it the black cat. Not to mention the girls who work there are super sweet!

  • Joel B.

I've been here a few times with the old owners, and a few times since the new owners took over. The food is alright, and they have a wide variety of different sandwiches. One thing I don't like is when paying with a card, the computer asks if I want to leave a tip. Why am I leaving a tip for someone taking my order?

    (3)
  • Jordan P.

I was driving through Upland at lunch, so I decided to stop here thanks to Yelp. This is a quiet little spot behind a Gas Station, and there are three or four tables inside for customers. The staff was very friendly, even if the sandwich did not come out particularly quickly. I had the Coven, which was good and plenty of food. If I was in the area, I would not hesitate to stop here again.

Our visit today resulted in 3 great sandwiches and one over-the-top chocolate chip cookie. And we experienced none of the slow service reported by others. We loved it and will be back for more!

  • Rebekah S.

I would hit this place up again if I was in the neighborhood. I wouldn't drive out of my way just for it. The hub and I were driving out this way just for MDC (DUH!) and I needed food. This was back when I was still eating chicken though, not sure how good it would be as a vegetarian again. We got: SPICY CHICKEN $6.49 Grilled Chicken Breast, Pepper Jack Cheese, Red Bell Pepper, Onion, Tomato, & Chipotle Pesto DRAGON'S BREATH $6.99 Grilled Chicken Breast, Pepper Jack Cheese, Red Bell Pepper, Onion, Tomato, & Chipotle Pesto Loaded with Jalapeños and grilled on Jalapeño Cheese Bread. Both could have been spicier. Bring it on baby. Full blast next time ok?! The girls behind the counter were as sweet as could be. Told them we were newbies and they took their time explaining stuff to us, which is always awesome.

  • Crystal C.

I had the wicked witch toasted and it was really good. It had an extra sort of spice that I don't normally taste in sandwiches so it was tasty. I also liked the friendly staff and large sandwich sizes they serve.

  • Nick L.

This place is near my work, so whenever I don't bring a lunch, The Sand Witch is my first choice. They make great sandwiches and I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. The orders can sometimes take a while if they are busy, but I don't think they take an unreasonable amount of time. It isn't a fast food shop. Sometimes I just call in my order when I leave and by the time I get there, it's almost ready. My favorite sandwich on the menu is the Black Cat. I like it grilled rather than toasted, but either way, it is delicious. My second favorite is the Coven. It is always full of flavor and always satisfies. When it's hot outside, I will sometimes go for the Harvest Moon. It isn't as filling as the Black Cat or Coven, but it tastes great and the cream cheese and cranberry sauce is refreshing.

The sandwiches are good but not worth the price. 20 dollars for 2 and 1 small drink. I'll pass

Great sandwiches. Neat theme. Hot employees. What else do you need? The service can be a bit slow, but you can call your orders in if you are in a rush. Otherwise, you can enjoy the view while you wait. ;)

First time eating here. I had the half and half turkey sandwich and soup. Everything was extremely fresh and tasty. The employees were kind and helpful. Definitely a place I will be returning to! :)

I would just like to say thank you for sending my future husband home to me upset after he waited and waited (35 minutes) for our sandwich order. He was trying to do something nice for his future wife whom is laid out on the couch with her back out. I really hope the owner takes the time to read this because your four employees not only forgot to prepare our food, but after a continuous 35 minute wait LIED and claimed that "they made the order, but thought it had been picked up and threw it out". Really than why wasn't the order ever called out? Question #1 Why would you throw an order out when the patron is sitting 10ft away from the sandwich prep station? Question #2 Why would you boldface lie to someone while they have been watching your every move? Question #3, why would you continuously make eye contact with someone and never check on their order? We just wanted to let you know that we had such little trust in ethics of your business that we couldn't trust your rude employees to not spit in our food. So we threw it out. I never leave bad reviews and unfortunately your business has the honor of being the first.

Sandwiches are ok, nothing special. Service is abysmally slow on both occasions I've been here. The owner apparently doesn't believe in having an adequate number of people on staff to serve customers. Do not come here on a lunch hour, you will be late. Ridiculous.

  • David A.

Totally my FAVORITE sandwich shop. Try The Wicked Witch!! You won't be disappointed. The dragon breath is good too. Also the "Cobb Web Salad" is very good. My kids love it here too. They get the grilled cheese sandwich off the Hanzel and Gredel menu. Also, they have great cookies. We always get a double chocolate chip.

This is the BEST place for sandwiches. The Harvest Moon, Coven, and Avocado Lovers sandwiches are absolute MUST-trys. The food is fresh and the breads are delicious (apparently they get them locally from the Old Town Baking Company over in Rancho Cucamonga). The ambiance is very relaxed and the place is decked out in a cute witch theme. The staff is also very friendly and the prices are quite reasonable for the fantastic food you get. I would highly recommend trying The Sand Witch for a delicious lunch or a hearty late afternoon treat. You won't be disappointed.

Third time here, third different sandwich. The biggest problem I have with this place is that I hate indecisiveness. Here I sit indecisive of what I want to order because all three sandwiches I've had were absolutely fantastic! The bread is toasted perfectly every time, hot stuff is perfectly hot, and cold stuff is perfectly cold. I've realized that I pretty much give 5 stars or 1 star in most reviews, unless people are overly harsh/generous and they need a dose of reality. I feel that any of my 5 stars deserve a visit and this place is definitely one of them. I got on a sandwich kick over the last few months. The Sand Witch is on par with the best I've been to (the Sandwich Spot in Palm Springs, and TKB bakery and Deli in Indio) I've had the Dragon Egg, which was the best egg salad sandwich I've ever had! No joke! The White Cat was awesome and only slightly improved when it's turned into the Frisky Kitty! The staff was friendly and quick to make a suggestion. Today I had the pasta salad on recommendation. It looked a little too mayonnaise'y at first, but was actually much better than I was anticipating. I recommend you eat here!

If I could give them 6 stars I would!!! Me and my babes came here for our first time today and had such an amazing experience!! I'm so glad we decided to try it!! The service here is beyond amazing the lovely girls here helped us pick out which (sand witches) they thought we would like. And they were spot on! I decided on a half and half which was the coven (my favorite)!! And the chicken pesto also amazing! My boy had the dragons breath with the broccoli cheese soup which he absolutely loved!! This is definitely becoming a regular spot for us!

I thought the grand reopening was an answer to my prayers because of how much I loved The Sand Witch. Today I have decided to no longer return. I called to ask the soup of the day and to place an order and to my surprise the number was disconnected. I decided to drive by since I only work down the street and the sign was on and said open. I pulled in and saw the new owner inside. I then saw he turned off the sign and as I was walking up to the door he saw me and continued to walk away. First off that was rude, he could have at least said they had closed or they were waiting for more staff to come in I mean something! But no. They took away Sundays, raised the prices, and now this! F the new owners! So rude and inconsiderate. It's a shame because me and my staff loved this place.

Sometimes a little hard to find a seat, but that's because the food is so good! The people are friendly, atmosphere is nice. Great lunch place. I always forget to get my punch card punched haha!

This place is amazing. Great place to have a nice lunch. Highly recommend trying the wicked witch, wicked pastrami, and the dragon's breath. I haven't had the chance to try their soups and salads but I will make sure to in the future. Also, they have nice veggie options for vegetarians and vegans alike.

New owners took over. Still great sandwiches but they seem to have raised the prices. A sandwich, tiny little cup of potato salad, and a drink, is like 12 bucks. Bit pricy for a lunch sandwich stop.

Yummy! Belly is so happy :) great place to grab a sandwich during my lunch break. New owner, different decor but same great food!

WOW, who knew sandwiches could be so mind-blowing? First time I came to the sand which it was after abandoning hiking the claremont loop half way through with my best friend (not one of our proudest moments, but hey we were starving!). And it was totally worth it. I was trying to decide between the tuna melt and the antipasto sandwiches when the girl told me that I could get HALF OF EACH!! Not sure why this impressed me so much, but it sure did. Both halves of my sandwiches were equally outstanding, but I think that may have been the best tuna melt I have eaten in my 23 years of life. You need to eat here. Like now.

Great sandwiches and salad! I only give 4 stars because of the prices and the cookie recipe needs improving. I would visit them again, the sandwich combinations all sound good! Much better than plan old Subway! It's rare to find a place that prides themselves on great produce and custom meals. I enjoyed their friendliness and suggestions.

I had the wicked witch (the toasted version of the original witch sandwich) and it was AMAZING. It is sooo flavorful, even the bread tastes good (has a garlic bread taste to it because of the garlic pesto). It is small inside, but there are tables. The place is cutely decorated with witch themed decor ^_^ you can also call your order in to pick up! Overall: If you want a good savory sandwich, this is the place to go!

This was my first time going. The staff is nice and welcoming. The menu is decent, there's a good amount of sandwiches to choose from. I decided to get the white cat and a cup of chicken tortilla soup. The food is alright, but I was disappointed. The soup had the consistency of a can of baby food, and seemed like everything was thrown into a food processor and heated up after. The sandwich had one slice of thin processed turkey on it and the avocado was barely noticeable. Not worth the $11 I paid. The table also had a weird finish on it that made it sticky. That kind of grossed me out. Probably not ever going out of my way to go back.

I wasn't very impressed for my first experience there today. The atmosphere is awesome and nicely decorated, and the staff was very friendly, but I went there for the sandwich. I got the white cat. My sandwich was missing the avocado and the lettuce was soggy. I also had a side of macaroni salad that they forgot to bring me, and it literally tasted like macaroni noodles and mayonnaise, it was repulsive, zero flavor. I took one bite and threw it away. I'm indecisive on ever coming back since I had to drive so far just for the experience. I hope this helps management with a few changes.

Food is great, I got the "broom stick" which was excellent it's a veggie panini, and a salad "the cobb Webb" clever idea all around, although the customer service could've been WAY better, no one was smiling, it helps when the employees make you feel welcome!

Still love the food at this place and the customer service is great. They changed the look of things inside and out. I think the outside looks better but I'm missing the look of the inside. It's just like any other sandwich shop now. I liked the charm of it before. It was a great place to bring people who had not been, because it was different. Now the only thing that makes the witch in the name is the name of the sandwiches and the little flower pots in the table. I still recommend this place though, just wish they would get that charm back.

Best lil sandwich place in town. Kind of hard to find the place, but definitely worth the try. The ladies here are very sweet and helpful. Everything my husband and I have ordered here turned out really great.

  • Kiersten O.

I went having higher expectations. I paid for a salad that cost 7 bucks and it's made with ice burg lettuce. Not worth it. Sandwich was great, I got the half and half which I thought would be a better deal, it's a rip off. Prices are too high and the staff looks miserable!

I've fallen in love with The Black Cat sandwich, I crave it all the time. I also really like the ham, cream cheese, and green chili sandwich and the cool thing is I can have half of a black cat sandwich and half of the ham sandwich every time I go in! I love that option. I also really like the punch card system because I've already got to redeem mine twice. The girls working there are also very nice. I just wish this place was open for dinner :)

A great place and delicious sandwiches! Location was clean and staff was very friendly and helpful! I tried the oven roasted Wicked Witch and was amazed at the amount of flavor in the sandwich and loved the kick of the jalapeños! My wife had the pesto panini and clam chowder was happy with her choices!

Oh My! Can you say ADDICTED! I cannot stop eating here and this place is my new found love for Sandwiches. I dream of the White Cat on the soft toasted jalapeno cheese bread. and with the simply satisfying cheddar pickle, this makes my mouth water all the time! Of course I have tried their Coven, B.L.A.C.K C.A.T, Dragon's Breath(That one is SPICY!), Sleepy Hollow, and the Buffalo Melt. But seriously the White Cat is the BEST!!! YUMMY!!! Plus all girls that work here are super sweet and are always smiling. If only they were open 24/7!

The first 2 times I came to the sandwitch I loved it. Great little spot to get a delicious, unique sandwhich. Cool chick's were working there and it had neat themed decor inside. They recently changed owners and the place isn't the same. Went there yesterday and they prices are higher and flavor was lower. I got the dragons breath which is my old favorite. Hours after being disappointed with high price and unpleasant taste came the affects food poisoning. I puked my brains out and haven't been able to hold down any food for 24 hours. I was able to talk to owner about concerns with chicken that was microwaved prior to serving. He apologized. I thanked him for ruining a great restaurant.

Went there for the first time for lunch with my daughter. Cute place, I liked the varies sandwich names. Although I have to say the girls making the sandwiches are extremely SLOW, there was maybe a couple people there! I was pretty disgusted when the girl preparing the food had long braids dangling the front of her chest and strains of hair hanging from her bangs, not what I expected for someone who prepares food. I gave 4 stars because my tuna sandwich was really good (glad I didn't find a long black hair in my food)!

Now that the Sand Witch is under new owner ship, the food is still great but the service is lacking. Now whenever my boyfriend and I walk in we feel awkward and like we are interrupting something. Also two out of the four times that we have been there since the ownership change, our orders have been wrong. One time that they messed up our order, it took almost 30 minutes to get it right! We were given a free cookie and told that it was just because everyone was new. One of the women was really nice about it but everyone else was acting like out order was super complicated and that it was our fault. I miss the old owner. I was absolutely in love with The Sand Witch when the previous owner ran the place. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. Also they recognized my boyfriend and I every time we walked in. Apparently the women that worked there before the ownership change still work there, but I have yet to see their happy faces. TL;DR Food is still great (which is the ONLY reason I still go). Service is lacking now that the new owners have taken over. Feel kind of uncomfortable walking in now because it feels like im interrupting or bothering them. Miss the old owner and the lovely ladies that worked there before.

Yum! I'm glad I got to check this place out. I got a spicy chicken panini. And it was delicious. I went with my roommates and their paninis looked amazing as well. I will definitely go back and try everything else eventually !

Yesterday was my first visit, and "The Sand Witch" did not disappoint! The service was prompt and friendly, the menu did not overwhelm, and included their signature sandwiches. The food was great! I had a "Witch" sandwich, which is an italian with pesto. For fans of fountain drinks, be forewarned that as of this review they serve drinks in cans and bottles only. Other than this, I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a healthy and tasty sandwich in a quaint and friendly environment!

I love this place! Every time I come in I am always greeted with a nice friendly smile and the girls are always so attentive and nice. The food is DELICIOUS and a really reasonable price. when i think of them tasty sandwishes... I head on down for a bite. Soft french rolls & yummy salami to satisfy any appetite. Try the Warlock or (my fav) the Witch.. don't believe all the hornswogglers on here that can't help but to b*tch.

  • Andy V.

I asked for something spicy and boy did they deliver! My mouth was on fire (I love spicy food) I thought the panini was maybe to small and wouldn't fill me. But I was wrong. Perfect serving. I believe it was called "dragons breath" (was in a hurry so I can't really remember but sounds about right though!).

If I could eat the sandwitch everyday I would. I mostly eat vegetarian and all of their veggie sandwiches are great! They have good bread. I have had a few sandwiches that I am not a huge fan (killer tomato, avocado) but most things are delicious. Always quick and reasonably priced. Hours are kinda weird though so make sure that you know they are open before you drive over.

Delicious delicious and so close to work. I come here often. The service is excellent. Only negative comment is that it does take a while for your order to be ready. Sometimes, though, its worth the wait.

This is one of those places that we always drove past and never stopped. I guess the main reason we never stopped is they close at 4pm, and we're usually out and about looking for dinner food after work, so that didn't quite work out for us. Well, the Sandwitch and I finally found an agreeable time to meet up. My husband and I stopped there for lunch. A minor problem with this place is in fact the parking. It gets pretty crowded at lunch time, and they have businesses next door that need their parking spaces for themselves. Regardless, we parked and entered. Very cozy shop, love the witch theme. They have a wide variety of sandwiches to choose from. At the time I decided to go for the grilled ham, cream cheese & green chili panini. This has since become my favorite sandwich, and it has also become a sandwich that I find myself craving at various times during the week ..... go figure. My husband had "Coven" and that sandwich had the same effect on him. Maybe there are spells inside the sandwiches that make you come back for more ... lol :) ANYWAY .... delicious sandwiches on nice and fresh bread. They have a varied selection of breads as well that you can choose for your sandwich. Also, don't forget to go tag the sandwich of your choice on their wall ;-) The girls that work there are super nice, very very friendly staff and personable. We love the entire vibe of this place. My only negative here is that there is no fountain drinks, but that's ok, it's not a deterrent at all. Also, it's hard to find a place to sit sometimes if you want to enjoy your food there on location. We're definitely regulars at the Sandwitch now. If you're one of those people who have been passing by the sandwitch for years and never stopped (and I KNOW there are a few of you out there!), do yourself a favor and finally stop. You will be very happy you did!

The Sand Witch has fantastic sandwiches at very reasonable prices. Unfortunately they will be going out of business on June 20th, so be sure to get there before they close up shop!

  • Melissa J.

Pretty good! I like their stuff, and the girls are always friendly and my order has always been right. I'm sad the egg salad was discontinued (it is unbelievably difficult finding a sandwich place that has egg salad!) but the other sandwiches are ok. It's not blow-your-mind amazing food but they're always fresh and have a LOT to choose from on the menu. I also think the "witch" theme is adorable!

  • Rich V.

I read all the positive reviews and I was so excited. I've been here three times. I've had the warlock, french dip, and a panini. All were very average. The sandwiches were all light on meat and flavor. There are plenty of other better options locally.

    (3)
  • S W.

I must say, I'm really disappointed since the shop changed owners. I work nearby and used to love the sandwiches here (my favorites were Killer Tomato, Black Cat, and Dragon's Breath). I've been back only thrice since the original owners left. Under new ownership, all three of my favorite sandwiches have gone up in price and down in flavor. The bacon in the Black Cat was no longer crisp, bread was squishy and hardly toasted, and avocado was minimal (in the past, the avocado would be OOozing. Not anymore.) The Killer Tomato was soggy and the flavor wasn't To-Die-For anymore, which is how I previously felt about this sandwich. The Dragon's Breath just didn't taste the same; the flavor of the chicken seems to have changed as did the jalapeno-cheese bread they use. I like my warm sandwiches actually WARM. My last 3 experiences w/ my 3 favorite sandwiches all came out room temperature in the middle. With the jump in prices, it is no longer a worthwhile endeavor. For what I got, $9+ dollars is a blatant rip-off. I'm very bummed, but I will no longer return.

My first time trying out this place. The girl at the register too the time to explain the menu and told us about the most popular sandwiches. The inside decor is very cute and clean. I ordered the coven and it was delicious!!!! My partner order the roast beef dip and she was loving ever bit of it! Will be back for sure.

They have a huge sign, really. Nearly drove past it until I saw their sign that was facing the road. Place was clean and the staff was friendly. They do have specials of the day and a stamp card too. I bought the special that day which was $5.69 plus $1 for a can of coke for $7.21 in all, tax $0.52 with it. The special was half a turkey and bacon panini and loaded potato soup. It was filling with the panini well grilled and crispy and the soup had chunks of potato and cheddar cheese. Not a lot of seating and the location is kinda hidden.

James Forest - my partner in crime on Two Guys Take on Food - absolutely loves this place so I finally gave in to his prodding and came on down with him one Saturday to check this place out. It's easy to miss off Mountain & 9th but once you walk inside you can tell this place is cared for. Everything is very clean and the staff greets you as you walk in. Granted, it's kind of hard for the Staff to miss customers since the shop is on the smaller side (and they're all facing the door) but the fact that they make saying "hello" so friendly speak to the spirit of the restaurant. They have a menu written up on chalk boards that explains their menu rather clearly and even if that doesn't explain things well enough for you they have order slips that you can fill in for what you want. Pretty nifty way to get your wants across, huh? And you really can order what you want. I'm a somewhat picky eater admittedly so when I chatted with one of the girls behind the counter about what I had in mind they were ready with suggestions and combinations they thought would help. And they were definitely right! I ordered a Turkey with Cheddar & Cranberry on a Wheat roll and I wasn't disappointed. The meat came in generous portions (sliced) and the cranberry was just right - not too runny and not too thick. They even grilled it slightly for me before adding the cranberry, which made everything come out *perfectly* (seriously, try it next time you go in). They also suggested one of the soups they had on hand - I think it was some sort of vegetable soup - and it went well with the meal. They really know their stuff at the Sand Witch! My only complaint is that while their offerings are quality you don't get as much as you think you would for the price. I got my sandwitch and the soup (plus a drink) for something like $8 or $9 and I was still hungry after my meal. Now keep in mind that the food was delicious! But I don't want to have to spend $10+ for lunch when I'm just stopping by for a sandwich. If I wanted that I'd go to Panera, where incidentally I'd get more food for the price. All in all I would definitely recommend this place! Just go in knowing that while the customer service and food are both excellent this probably a place better served for a mid-afternoon snack/meet-up than it is an actual meal to get you full (or close to it).

This is the best sandwich place I've been too! Staff is friendly, eating area is very clean, bathroom is also very clean. The only problem is they hours they only open till 6pm Mon-Fri & 4pm on Sat closed on Sundays. My boyfriend & I get 2 sandwich combos for under $20..you can even get half & half if you can't decide which sandwich you want.

I'm so glad I have 'The Sand Witch' to go to when I visit my family in Upland. After I got back from New York, I felt like I would never be able to find a sandwich place that I'd would be happy with. This place is one of my favs in California. Haven't tried all the sandwiches yet because I keep going back to 'The Broom Stick', and 'The Coven'.

I'll give you the good and the bad. The good is the food. The bad is EVERYTHING ELSE. If you don't mind being treated like the customer is the least important person in the world, I invite you to dine at this establishment. The girls are rude and do not pay attention to anything. They will spend LITERALLY (I'm not kidding) a half hour talking before they decide to touch any sandwich ingredients. They do not accept orders if you call ahead. They may claim they do but it's a blatant lie. They will accept your order but it is YOUR duty to come in and re-order because they require you to remind them. The wait time will remain an hour whether you call ahead or come in. If you have absolutely nothing to do all day, you'll love this place. The sandwiches aren't worth the wait but if time isn't valuable in your life then forget about it and just wait. Just remember that their conversation is much more important than your business. If you are like me and don't have the whole day to wait for food then go ANYWHERE else. Inside this sand witch shop incompetence is an excuse for work.

I don't understand why this even a 4 stars. The sandwich is subpar, we tried the pastrami and a roast beef, sadly it's nothing special. For the price you pay I highly doubt I would come back. There's The hat which isn't far away that taste way better and give you way more meat.

Our first visit here in July was a winner. Today was our second visit, and things were not as memorable. I ordered the roast beef pannini dip ($7). Crunchy grilled sourdough, filled with cheese, mushrooms, and roasted red peppers, but the thinly sliced beef had an occasional old taste to it. The broth that was the "dip" was not homemade and tasted like either a reconstituted or bottled version. I have to confess I am a drinker of the jus, and this just didn't do it for me. I even tried to give it to Lilly pup, and she turned her nose up at it too. Revelation....I seem to have a foodie snob of a dog, probably my own fault. Bottom line, I found myself longing for a similar sandwich from The Black Horse Tavern in Norco that far surpasses this sandwich in flavors, volume, and value, and has a jus that is fresh from the roast. Mr B had the lunch special - a half tuna melt pannini with a cup of cream of chicken soup with wild rice ($6). The sandwich was good, I would order it again, but nothing terribly great. The soup was most likely homemade, but very bland. I did appreciate that it did have plenty of chunks of chicken. There were no sides that come with the sandwich. Lunch cost 52 cents after deducting my $14 Groupon. It was a chilly day, and so was the interior. Very clean, service was quite friendly . You win some you lose some. Would I return? Maybe - for the chicken salad sandwich and turkey with cream cheese and cranberry that we had the first time around.

Amazing Food! I had the goal to try everything on their menu once, but I got stuck on the Dragon's Breath Panini! I have had that over 20 times. My very close second place sandwich is the Coven! I love that they get all of their bread fresh from a local bakery! I have taken several of my clients here and have yet to hear a complaint other than "Too Far" for someone working about 10 miles away, that is understandable during a lunch break, but for me well worth the drive. If it were closer I would probably eat way too many of their Reese's cookies! There is occasionally a lunch wait because there are usually several customers in line but I have found it dies down around 1:30 or 2:00 if you can take a later lunch and want to avoid the crowd. Great Job Ladies!

  • Carina m.

Great sandwiches. A small hidden gem. Would gladly return for more. Kind workers. Only complaint is that it kind of takes a while for it to come out, but for the quality of food you kind of have to expect it. Can't wait to back for more!

  • Lark F.

don't let the not so great area deter you from this greater than good little shoppe. First time here, i had the groupon (I'm telling you if i didn't have groupons i would NOT know where anything is!). I ordered the veggie avocado lovers sandwich, mmmmmmmmmmm, they did NOT skimp on the avocado, they mashed it like guac but it's not guac, it's just mashed avocado. It was delish. I had half of that and for dinner I had half the harvest moon which is basically turkey cranberry, also delish and very unique. I love that. I also had a side of the potato salad, very good as well. They're sandwiches are BIG, well big for me, and so if you're not a big eater you'll have some leftover for a nice light snack or in my case: dinner. Everything tastes fresh and everyone behind the counter was friendly and cheery. I love the theme, with witches and blacks cats and stuff. It's Halloween everyday! Their soups are in actual cauldrons. Cute. Customers who were in there seemed like they were regulars which is always a good sign. Prices are reasonable on their own, even more so since i had the groupon. My only complaint: they don't wear gloves when they make the sandwiches, for a state-certified germophobe like me (ok kidding about the state-certified, but if there was a certification I'd def be qualified) it's kinda hard to give five stars bc of that, especially since even the less creative "chain" sub shops wear gloves. If they changed that part of the experience it would be a solid 5 stars.

  • Jonnell T.

I really enjoy the sandwiches here; they're really thoughtfully put together. You can get one of their signature sandwiches, like the "harvest moon" (turkey, cranberry and cream cheese) or put together your own options. I've had the "witches special" (italian grinder), the "poisoned apple chicken salad", the tuna and the "broomstick" (a veggie sandwich on jalapeno cheese bread). I've liked everything I've eaten here. My wife is a pescatarian so usually the only sandwiches she eats are tuna and a subway veggie. But this place has many vegetarian options so she has expanded her repertoire. The "Broomstick" sandwich is a popular veggie option and her favorite sandwich. I'm a meat eater down to the bone but even I enjoy the sandwich (in fact it's one of my favorites). The customer service here is always really good; they're very helpful and pleasant. The sandwiches are very reasonably priced and the even have a sandwich club. We get weekly coupons for this place (free sodas, b.o.g.o, 1/2 off). So, if your looking for a new sandwich shop TRY HERE!

Okay food, mediocre customer service and accuracy. Ordered the "Scaredy Cat" with no tomato and of course, there was tomato. Also asked for whole grain bread, didn't get that either. I had the expectation of more homemade food, but it seemed that everything was pre made? Not a bad place if you are busy or on the go... but I personally expect better from such a hyped up place. Lastly, I'm not sure about you but I would prefer the people making my food to not run their hands all through their hair and be biting their nails. Maybe its time for some new management??? Happy Eating.

My co workers and I eat here atleast once a week. The delicious food is only superseded by their awesome service. Recommendations: spicy chicken panini and broccoli cheddar soup.

After driving past this shop for the past three months (we just moved out here) we finally stopped in today to get lunch. And wow, we were NOT disappointed! Pro: Your should order the Roast Beef Dip Panini. It's roast beef, provolone, onions, peppers, mushrooms, with sourdough bread (which they get fresh from a local bakery) served with a cup of au jus to dip. The portions are huge! Lots of meat, lots of cheese. The onions/mushrooms/peppers keep it really moist inside, and the outside is perfectly crunchy, toasted, pressed sourdough. Super-Pro: It was only about $16 total for me and the BF, great price. Slight-con: The macaroni salad & potato salad are gross. They're both really, really sweet and sugary, which is weird and confusing. I'm not sure if it's made in-house, or pre-made and bought, but either way, it needs a serious recipe makeover. Pro: the women who work here are actually friendly! Love great customer service. She could tell we were new, and briefly explained their menu. Con: since there was only 1 person working behind the counter, our sandwich took about 10-15mins to make. Which was ok, we were in no hurry, but I felt bad for the lady who ordered after us, who was still waiting a good 20 mins after she ordered to get her food. Maybe hiring some more sand'witches' may be a good idea for this place? Meh?: I'm not bummed about the fact that they're closed on Sunday. Hey, everyone needs a day off. But what does sadden me is that they're only open until 4pm! I wish they were open until at least 7 on weekdays, or at least on Friday&Saturday. Saturday they're only open from 11am-2pm... seems kind of pointless. *shrugs* This is our new favorite sandwich shop though, as long as we remember how early they close, and can get to it in time after work. :)

Soooo good!! My husband had the Dragon's Breath, and said "This is the best sandwich I've had in a VERY long time." I have to agree- it was awesome, and the location is adorable!

This place was delicious! Unique and tasty sandwiches. My husband and I really enjoyed the Coven (hot turkey, avocado, bacon) and the roast beef dip panini (didn't even need to dip it was so good). Forget riding the Subway or hangin w/ Jersey Mike - this is a good witch and she'll put you under her sandwich spell. :)

Came here for lunch while in town for business. Had the Italian Special and a side of potato salad. Very yummy stuff. Good bread and tasty fillings. I'd be here once a week at least for lunch if I worked in the area.

Just recently started having lunch here. Rarely do I order tuna for lunch, but had the Sea Witch sandwich yesterday and it was AMAZING! Danielle, one of the employees, took the time to come out to the table area and ask us if we enjoyed our sandwiches. Apparently the guy next to us had to wait a few minutes for his sandwich and Danielle asked him if it was worth waiting for and his answer was a resounding YES!

This is a well-kept secret of a restaurant. Where it's located, you might miss it if you weren't looking for it, which is a shame because it's amazing. Very clean, very cute interior, the staff are sweethearts, and the food is REALLY good. My husband had the Harvest Moon, I had the White Cat and both were a good size for the price and a great blend of flavors. We will be back when we are next in town :-)

Went for lunch when I was in the area and ordered the chicken pesto panini. Very tasty with fairly fast service. Great crispy bread! Menu wasn't anything new, but they did the normal sandwiches well. Bathroom was clean and cutely decorated. My only complain was that the tables and floor felt a little sticky to me, but everything looked clean.

Rejoicify! This place is totally wicked! After eating here yesterday, flying monkeys couldn't keep me away in the future. Not sure what kind of wizards are working in the kitchen, but they sure can create some kind of miraculous kitchen concoction to, not only satisfy hunger, but tingle the taste buds. It was quite a warm day outside so I wanted to order a cold sandwich. I picked the warlock and the sandwich surely put a spell on me. I didn't think someone could create a roast beef sandwich this good outside of New York. It is clear the owners take pride in the quality of products they use. The roast beef was medium rare and full of flavor as if it was recently grilled. Hoagie roll was incredibly fresh. The horseradish spread added a tangy kick without covering up the other ingredients. All the toppings were perfectly portioned out so as to create the perfect sandwich. My friend ordered the Coven, a highly rated panini with a pepper jack kick. I'm already planning on ordering that the next time I go. With just one bite, it drew me in. The next time my flying bubble makes it out to Upland, I'll be sure to stop by and try some of their other options.

I've been here twice in a row this week because I happened to be in the area and let me just tell you something about this place; if you are wondering whether to stop by or not, DO IT. Service is great. The outside is kind of easy to miss if you're not looking, especially due to some construction going on at the moment but the inside makes up for it with its charm. The food is very filling and delicious! I love that they have a wide variety of sandwiches, including vegetarian. I've always been a panini lover and had to try the Coven upon reading the reviews prior to stopping by, and I'm so glad I did! So good! Everything looks freshly made with quality ingredients. I will be adding this place to my personal favorites and definitely coming back.

Cute place, but it's hidden on a side street. We tried the Veggie sandwich called Broomstick and it was pretty good! Very flavorful and I love the avocado and garlic aioli spread! Although one thing to remember for next time, was that it was very greasy for me, so I'll ask for no oil/butter next time. Definitely will be back when I am in the area.

The Coven- very good and flavorful. I love how the bread does not get soggy from the moist sandwich Dragons breath-definitely has a spicy kick that makes it SO DELICIOUS. Turkey Presto- so good. Instead of turkey the sandwich maker messed up and added chicken BUT made the turkey one and gave us the chicken for free as a sample. Overall great sandwich shop with reasonable prices. Tip: sandwiches do not come with chips,or any side, you must add a side to your order. Very good though. All sandwiches were yummy

Had some pastrami sandwiches. The BOMB! Heard so much about The Hat and that place doesn't even compare to here. I mean if u like dry pastrami, be my guess. Here, it's juicy. Only bad thing is, it may become addicting. Bad for you if you're a weight watcher lol. But that's ok, that means you won't crowd this place and it won't take long for me to get my sammich. Highly recommend. Great job Sand Witch. Hands down then two thumbs up!

Today was the first time I have ever tried this place and it was amazing! The sandwiches are served fresh and there is so much variety in sandwich flavors! I got the broomstick which was soooo good, it was loaded with huge chunks of avocado, sliced tomato, lettuce, peppers, a vegetarians dream! My buddy got the buffalo melt which had the perfect blend of spice and flavor for the wings, I'm getting hungry just thinking about this place. I highly recommend everyone try this place if you want a mouth watering delight!

I recommend The Sand Witch to all of my friends and family!!

Happened to be in the area after trying out my friend's new coffee shop Rad Coffee, which is pretty good by the way, but let's stick to The Sand Witch for right now. The atmosphere was great walking in. They have a witch theme from classic witch puns to Wicked quotes. Though themes are not my cup of tea, was nice to see a change from the average old sandwich shop. The girl working was very pleasant. She assisted me immediately while conversing. Know conversation may not seem out of the ordinary, but from my past experiences, people usually just take orders, give food, and attend to their duties. Having some conversation is a nice change. Now on to the food. The girl suggested a spicy sandwich and me being a sucker for spice agreed. Pretty much chicken breast with pepper jack cheese and a lot of different spices on a panini. Tasted really good to me. Price was not to bad either for the size. My appetite is medium, but that filled me up. Will definitely be back to enjoy another sandwich!

Love this place... they have the best sandwiches and the staff Is friendy. My boyfriend and I always get the Calico sandwich: turkey, bacon, cheddar cheese, peppercinis, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles on jalapeno bread. We always take ours to go... it's a small building with a bad parking lot and crappy air conditioning; plus I'm a Diet Coke girl and they only have Pepsi, if their sandwiches weren't so good I wouldn't go back just based on their soda selection. Also, they are a little pricey, so I don't buy their chips... I just eat my own from home.

Cute concept that presents delicious food. We shared the Sleepy Hollow and the Roast beef dip. No one flavor overwhelmed either sandwich - well balanced, not overly cheesy, not greasy or overly messy. Bacon on Sleepy Hollow was meaty, not fatty - a good quality bacon. Plenty of peppers on the roast beef. I asked to skip the onions as we had a later appointment and they were totally accommodating. The roast beef was tender and full of flavor. The au just was fantastic and added to the joy of the sandwich. Guy behind the counter was super friendly, came over to chat and wanted us to try the chocolate chip cookie. We were so full that we saved it for later - it was outrageous! So full that we could only manage a little bowl of soup for dinner. They are looking to expand - oh, please come to Claremont!!

Wow...this place is good and affordable! A group of us went for the first time and ordered 6 different sandwiches to share and I can't even tell you which was the best....they all were amazing!! Can't wait to go back!!

The food is good and pricey it would be worth it if these employees had a concept of time time. Many times we have put in a phone order and when we come in to pay that's when they start to process our order. We try to be loyal but never coming back again. And to the nice man at the cashiers place don't say it will be a few minutes when you mean 15-20 minutes.

This place is SO GOOD! When I started working in Ontario, my manager introduced this place to me because it is near our bank. I am forever thankful she brought me here! The White Cat is my favorite, but I've had many different sandwiches. They have a lot of options for cold sandwiches, toasted sandwiches, and paninis. I usually call in my order after I do deposits at our bank down the street and the order is ready by the time I get there. The girls are so nice here.

Excellent service, we had 3 different vegetarian sandwiches, all good (broomstick, killer tomato, and deviled egg). We also had the fresh fruit that unfortunately tasted fermented to us but customer service was excellent about refund or exchange without any questions. Very nice.

Unparalleled. There wicked which is incredible. Better than jersey mikes, which wich, subway, and jimmy johns combined. You don't want to miss out. I literally get cravings. Cool staff and best service. Fresh and on point

  • Laurel T.

I had the white cat sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. It was very fresh and very filling. Next time I will have the half and half option listed on their menu or perhaps take half home instead of getting so excited and eating the whole sandwich in one sitting. I attached a photo of the sandwich while I was there :) There are so may different types of sandwiches from vegetarian, different meats and options for either hot or cold sandwiches. Every one behind the counter seemed very pleasant and courteous. Btw, this place can get a little busy if you are trying to eat during lunch just be prepared. I went about noon and all the tables were filled but one and then 5 more people came in.

  • Greg W.

My gf n I love their Calico Sandwich. The turkey, bacon and avocado are super fresh and the jalapeño bread has a great flavor. You'll never go to subway again.

I have mixed feelings writing this review. The sandwiches themselves were good. Unfortunately they weren't the exact sandwiches we wanted. You see, when we arrived the cashier informed us that they were out of nearly every bread type and pastrami. We were told that they receive bread shipments on Monday and are generally out of everything by Saturday. Well that's just lovely, maybe you should order more bread! This says two things to me: 1) They know that they have a problem and have not attempted to fix it 2) The owners are more worried about their bottom line and don't care that they will have half of their offerings unavailable by the end of the week In the end, yes I will be back but never again on a Saturday.

  • Julie K.

Love love love this place! Ambiance is super cute, and the food is amazing! One of our fave lunch spots for sure! I always get the Half & half meal with clam chowder and the Sleepy Hollow panini. The clam chowder is a good size portion, and up there with other amazing clam chowders I've had. Good mix of creaminess and potatoes without being too thick or thin. The Sleepy Hollow comes with peppered turkey, which is too spicy for my wimpy self, but they customized it for me with regular turkey without blinking an eye. So good! My husband swears by the Wicked Witch hot sandwich, and won't try anything else cuz he loves it that much. It has a bit of a kick for you spicy fans, and goes great with potato salad too. Give it a try...you won't regret it!

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. Cute theme and clean with a nice portable air conditioner however I probably won't be coming back, I even used a coupon from the Upland bogo coupon book, my total was $16.86, I tipped them before my sandwich came out and now I want my 2 bucks back!!! I ordered the turkey pesto tomato. The pesto and sun dried tomatoes is what sold me but there wasn't any pesto? Instead loaded with mayo!!! And it was sun dried tomato paste? Instead of the real thing?? My squaw panini was burnt. I thought about taking my order back but the thought of waiting for another 30 minutes will annoy me more. My boyfriend gave them 2 stars, I laugh because I think this place deserves 1. He ordered the witch on sourdough, the bread was ehh and I'm sure his pepperchinis and lettuce was old. The loaded baked potato was watery, I was sad I got the large instead of the smaller one because I was disappointed in the quality of this water based soup with chunks of potatoes, pieces of bacon, and chives in it. There was only 2 girls working? It was very slow for a Saturday, I would think the owners would hire more minimum wage high school girls to come in, however since the girls can only produce a couple of sandwiches every 30 minutes then the owners would actually lose money.

The front of the building and the business sign were not eye catching enough for me, but word of mouth got me to try it. I am VERY pleased with the menu choices and prices. Very good sandwiches. I prefer the wicked witch. The price is very good considering how much meat is in it and the large size. Beats subway, Quiznos, Jimmy Johns any day!

Second visit with a story this time. I came here 18 months ago and was not impressed for reasons I do not recal. Last weekend the owners handed out free sandwiches at a local bar. Although I did not get a free sample I felt it was a nice touch to advertise locally. Do today, I visited a second time. Not a 4 star due to rather slow service but the 1/2 and 1/2 was very good. I had the Black Cat and Cheese Soup that were both above average. Nice job owner of getting a local to try a second time and changing my Yelp reveiw.

They had a deal going on with Groupon $7 for $14 worth of food and I bought into it. When I arrived it was not that busy and when I ordered my food I went over by $1.50. They told me that I would need to spend over $5 to use the credit card (even though my total order was over $15). I bought the soup just so I can go over the $5 and after all that hassle they didn't even give me the soup. The Vons up the street offers better sandwiches at a lower price plus this place has horrible hours.

Tried this place for the first time in 14 yrs after passing thru many times, tried turkey n bacon panini, it was good, will try something else next time. Better take it to go than eating in, its too inside the establishment, must try.

This place is great!! I tried it once and wad hooked. Its so fresh n amazing. You gotta try The Witch and the pastrami. You wont be disapointed. Everybody that ive brought here loved it. The staff is friendly. Its in a hidden spot so be sure not to pass it up. Enjoy :-)

This place was good. A little pricey, $17 for two sandwich combos. Its a tiny place and if people are seated at a table next to you, it can be quite annoying because it feels as though they are talking in your ear.

I am a sandwich lover and love to find little hole in the wall gems like this place. I have been eating in here for about a year now. I've tried alot of the items on the menu and they are all so fresh and yummy. The deli meats are thick and juicy, the produce is crisp and always fresh, the prices are reasonable and worth every penny, the owner and her lil witches are all amazing and friendly! There is always someone coming and going from this place and they all feel lucky to have found this place cause it is awesome!!! My only complaint is they aren't always open when I come by but maybe I need to just get there before they close hahaha.

Any place that has a turkey and cream cheese panini gets my vote. The girls that work there are so sweet and accommodating for new customers and they take their time to make sure the food is made just as ordered. Plus, who minds having some eye candy while waiting for your food? LOVE it! :)

  • Mindlessboreden ..

I work down the street from The Sandwitch and hinestly go least once a week. This is really one of the best and most unqiue places to get a sandwich. They have a large and awesome variety of sandwiches with names that really fit the theme of The Sandwitch. I highly recommend anyone who wants an amazing sandwich to come here! The only flaw i think they might have is the wait but its always best to order ahead of time if you know the menu.

This place totally hit the spot after my hike at Mt. Baldy. I was in the mood for a cold sandwich and the witch sandwich was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this place. Also the girl helping us totally looked like Sansa from game of thrones.

Sandwiches were nothing special. In fact we had to wait 25 minutes for our 2 sandwiches and cup of soup to go. SUPER SLOW SERVICE for a Saturday lunch time. My girlfriend ordered the grilled turkey pesto panini on squaw. A brief description would be: burnt with too much mayo and no pesto. I had "The Witch" on sourdough. This was basically an Italian BMT. I am glad I ordered no mayo after seeing my girlfriend sandwich. My Witch was dry and the lettuce was not fresh. Our soup, well let's just say we were upsaled by Charlotte who told us the soup was this amazing potato with bacon, cheese, and chives soup. So we ordered a large cup. One word to describe this soup WATERY. Watery with lumps of potatoes and some bacon bits. And where's my crackers!!! So not too impressed. Good luck to other future customers. I gave this place 2 stars not 1 because of the cleanliness, the cute witch decor, and the friendly (but slow) staff.

DELICIOUS sandwiches, but I found myself a bit irked at the service. Hopefully it was just an unfortunate mishap. I've worked at a restaurant, so I know orders don't always come out in the order they were placed. I'm usually telling everybody else to chill when they get impatient. But... We placed our order for two sandwiches, after waiting for a good five minutes or so at the register so she could finish the sandwiches she was already making. Then the group behind us placed their orders, taking a full five minutes or so to do so because they were asking a ton of questions. Because there was only one girl at the time, this means our sandwiches weren't started on, which is okay. Another worker walked in while the second group's order was being taken. When they were done receiving the order, they both got started on THAT group's order first, completing it entirely, before I heard them discussing what was on our order while looking at the kitchen slips. All said and done, it took well over twenty minutes from the time we walked in to the time we got our food. And that's with nobody else at the register, and only one other party after us. Sure, it could have just been a fluke or honest mistake (it happens, I've been there), but I was thoroughly annoyed.

First visit for lunch today. When I walked in, I was greeted by the cashier, who as others have mentioned is very easy on the eyes. I ordered the Avocado Lover, because, well I am an avocado lover. :) I choose the jalapeno cheddar bread and provolone cheese. Let me just say, this sandwich is a game changer. I could honestly have it everyday and be more than content and I consider myself to be a serious carnivore. Avocado was fresh and perfectly seasoned. The jalapeno bread is obviously freshly made and gives it an extra little kick. I am in love, I can't wait for my next lunch at The Sand Witch!

This place is awesome for many reasons. Main reason is the food is amazing and delicious, though i have only tried 5 of there sandwiches but each amazing. Location it's right between the 10 n the 210 so i stop by whenever I'm in transit. Best Sandwiches in town

Food is very fresh and delicious BUT they get VERY busy around lunch time and also accept orders over the phone so be prepared to have to wait a good while for your food to be ready. Great place for a leisurely lunch if/when you have time to wait but not the best for a quick lunch break from work...

  • Karissa J.

The place was so delicious, as well as providing you with a great unique atmosphere. The size is very cozy and makes you feel like you're in a nice little cottage eating gourmet food. Getting "The Broomstick" and "Harvest Moon" sandwiches, both my girlfriend and I enjoyed them immensely. The sides of potato salad and macaroni salad were great, with the potato salad being our favorite. The only reason at all I docked it a star is due to the fact that it was FREEZING inside, and that the price is a little more than your average sandwich shop.....but you're also getting better quality as well. We will definitely be going back, if not making it a staple for nearby food.

I love the really fun and unique style and theme of the Witches at this place. All of the sandwiches and soups and whatnots are all named appropriately, making the whole experience more fun. Fortunately backing up these fun names are some really cool and fun staff who seem to really enjoy their jobs and love to make super tasty sammies. Which they are. Be it a panini, or a hoagie roll, or half of each (which you can totally do! How cool is that!?) everything we ate (sandwich wise) was delicious. Nice fun simple and playful interior too. I must note, as it's a sore spot with me... They do not make their own coleslaw or potato salad. It's store bought. Maybe two of the best sides ever invented by man to go with a sandwich, and they are really really easy and cheap to make on your own. So...why wouldn't you!? Skip the sides. Not worth it. Though their soups I believe are made in-house, that would be a better choice next time.

Ate here again today. I have been reading some negative reviews. I'm thinking the business might have been sold or something. Good creative sandwiches delivered in a reasonable time. I agree, we should not be tipping for no service though. The last 2 times i have eaten here the food has been good and the service was above average.

It was my first time at this restaurant and second time eating a sandwich from here. Both times the sandwiches were amazing. Seriously, if you're in the mood for just a good hearty flavorful sandwich, this place is a must try. They have a good variety of cold and toasted sandwiches (also panini's). I ordered the wicked pastrami, perfect amount of everything. I loved it. My friend ordered the scaredy cat which is basically a loaded BLT on sourdough bread, I tried hers too, I really liked it. The only reason why I'm docking this place is because the service was super slow. We got there and waited our turn in line and when we were ready to order we had to wait for the service lady to finish her order on the phone before she could take ours, it was a good 4 minutes before we could order. Then also actually receiving our sandwiches took a while too. However I'd rather wait for a "Sandwitches"sandwich than a subway sandwich any day. I would DEFINITELY order and eat at this place again, except next time I'll probably call ahead! ;)

I was in the area, & looking for something to eat, FAST. I was staaaarving. After seeing the name, & menu, I was very intrigued. After reading the reviews, I was convinced. I tried the coven & the buffalo melt (half&half). SO. DARN. GOOD. I had subbed out the blue cheese in the buffalo melt for ranch, & it was AMAZING. Definitely hit the spot! The coven was delicious as well. These sandwiches are packed with so much flavor! I will definitely be going back; new favorite sandwich place!!

I love the Sand Witch! I've been coming here for quite some time with my boyfriend and we are both big fans. First off, the concept of this place is really cute. A lot of the sandwiches are witch-themed (though I do have a suggestion for the owners if they read these- you should call the Chicken Pesto the Chicken "Presto"). The decor is cute, too. They could have gone really over-the-top with the witch decorations, but they kept it moderate and the result is a really great looking sandwich shop. Second, the sandwiches are amazing! I have eaten all the vegetarian sandwiches, and my favorites by far are the Broom Stick and the Dragon Egg (sub the bacon for avocado- it is amazing! One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Owners- you should add this to your veggie sandwich menu and called it "the green dragon egg"). My boyfriend is in the process of trying all the meat sandwiches and his favorite is the Dragon's Breath so far. I haven't tried any of the sides because the sandwiches are insanely filling, but I did try one of their chocolate chip peanut butter cookies and it was really good also. I knocked off one star for a few minor complaints: The place is a tad bit too small and they need more employees. They are often very busy on Saturdays and it is hard to find a table. In addition, the sandwiches do take a very long time to come out. It's not a big deal at all because the finished product is so good, but keep that in mind if you are in a time crunch. Also, I wish they were open later because my bf and I would pretty much eat there all the time :).

My fiance and I were visiting from of town and had lunch here. He had the Wicked Witch and absolutely loved it! I had the Poisoned Apple salad. It was ok. I wasn't aware that it had onions and dill pickles since it didn't mentioned it on the menu. The service was a bit slow.

I went there for my first time today as we do a lot of business just based on yelp reviews. The young lady in my front office said I need to go try this sandwich shop as they had what looked like a really interesting and different sandwich menu. I figured I'd give it a try as it is about a block from my bank. It was very easy to find even though some yelp reviews said it was hidden. The dining area is very clean and there were lots of smiling faces as I came in to order. No one bothered me as I was staring up at the menu and it gave me time to make my decision and try something I wouldn't usually try. I got my drink and chips and was waiting for my sandwich to be done when one of the smiling young ladies apologized and let me know that they had burned my sandwich and were going to have to make me a new one. I said I was in no hurry and continued to wait. The wait was really not excessive at all and if they wouldn't have told me I really wasn't going to complain as it wasn't that long. Here's where it gets good. The young lady called my name that my order was ready and gave me a coupon for a free sandwich!!!! It really wasn't necessary but it was really appreciated!!! Based on the service I received, I would recommend this place soley based on the service and the way I was treated. I headed back to work thinking to myself that even if my sandwich tasted like a block of wood, there were three or four other sandwiches I've gotta try at this place and will be back for my free one. Boy did I get the opposite. The White Cat sandwich and all of its ingredients were super fresh. It was toasted perfectly and for the amount paid, they stuffed this sandwich with meat and avocado. Now they have a customer for life! I will be sending my office folks over there tomorrow so they can try it out. Something tells me I'm gonna be here a bunch. Thank you very much for your awesome food and second to none service, you should be proud of your place, its awesome!

Had a kick ass lunch today at the Sand Witch. I tried the pastrami and cobb salad and both were excellent and generous. My wife had the egg salad with bacon, etc. Her's was also delicious. The service was friendly and the sandwiches are absolutely amazing. Hands down one of the top places in the Inland Empire to get a sandwich. Unusual combinations, fresh bread, awesome flavor. My pastrami was so tender and flavorful, all the condiments were in beautiful balance. I can't wait to try one of their other offerings. Highly recommended!

If you're looking to grab a quick lunch, do not come here unless you order 30 minutes in advance! I went there to grab a couple of sandwiches and ended up waiting 15 minutes to order an another 15+ to get two paninis. Ordered Chicken Pest Panini with gluten free bread and it was just ok. Tasted kind of bland, but juicy.

Sandwiches here are quite good! Unfortunately they weren't hearty. We both left here without that full satisfied feeling. Now, some would argue that it is better that way but I wanted to be full!! I know this is also kind of lame, but they don't have a fountain soda machine...it's just one of my things. Service was friendly and helpful. I'm sure we will be back, just not when we are starving! :)

I have been in L.A. nine months now and this sandwich place tops my list for a must try. I recommend The Black Cat but truly you cannot go wrong at this place. Standby for photos of future visits. Menu: thesandwitchshop.com/Men…

Solid sandwiches! I do have to agree with some previous posters, expect somewhat of a delay when they make your sandwiches, especially during lunch time! I got the chicken pesto panini sandwich. It was a perfect blend of melted cheese, chicken, pesto sauce, and bread! Usually other places just slap things on here and there, but honestly they put a lot of care into making them here and it's definitely worth the wait!

  • Kevin T.

So far, I have had the broomstick, the avocado sandwich, the cheese sandwich (all vegetarian), and the tuna sandwich- all of which are delicious! Most importantly, the sandwiches are made with a smile, so they taste even better!

Very fresh bread and meat. A big upgrade from subway. I will be returning to this restaurant. The pastrami was great as well as the italian.

Why have I waited so long to try this sandwich (witch?) shop? The exterior and location of the place doesn't really give you a very good indication of the quality food you will find inside. I finally saw the positive reviews pouring in, so I decided to go with some coworkers and give them a shot. I went with the chicken garlic pesto panini, and was very much happy with my choice. The chicken itself was juicy (for chicken breast), the pesto sauce nicely flavored, and the bread perfectly crisp. I have to admit that I have a soft spot for toasted sandwiches in general, and this was no exception. The warlock preparing my "sandwitch" did a great job, and you can tell that they take their time whilst casting their spells to carefully craft your meal. No kettles brewing (as far as I can tell), just great sandwiches.

My friend told me about this place and i seen the reviews on here and i was pretty excited, my favorite sandwich place is corner deli and is a little too far from where we live so we thought we would give this a try, well we did and it's just average, i cant believe all these 5 star reviews, i dont think these people have tried an amazing sandwich... i went with my wife, forgot exactly what it was called but i ordered a roast beef sandwich with horseradish mayo with bacon and cheddar. it was good, dont get me wrong, but nothing that anyone cant make at home if they tried. the filling had a nice flavor but the bread just seemed plain, it was fairly soft, not much texture and was just kind of "meh". my wife ordered the dragons breath, and i disliked this one more. it had a lot of filling but not spicy at all (im a gringo, i cant take much spicy food but my wife eats chili like candy lol!) so my wife wasnt impressed, it was just ok. all in all, im not opposed to coming back, but if im craving a sandwich, corner deli in ontario is the place to be, best sandwiches i have ever tried. overall 2.5 stars

I was working in this area for a good three months and this definitely was my go to lunch spot! DELISH!!! I tried a few of their sandwiches and by far my favorite is The Coven (make sure to get it hot) the coven can be served cold or you can request to get it hot, which I highly recommend you do. When you take a bite into it all the yumminess is melted together and just tasted so GOOD! Sooo mouth watering! They also have soups that are yummy as well. The place has a cute lil theme and has good service. Great place to go for lunch.

The sandwiches here are unrivaled! You won't find anything like them around this area. I LOVE the Broomstick (it's a vegetarian) but I always add turkey :) The sandwiches are packed with flavor and are so filling. They have daily soups which are great too. My sister and my boss LOVE this place and would eat here everyday if possible. They do get SUPER busy so it's easiest to call in your order and pick it up. The girls who work here are so friendly and sweet! Couldn't ask for better sandwiches or service!

Small little place but it gets packed at lunch. My food took a really long time but it was pretty good when it did come out. The servers are helpful with suggestions and they can do half/half panini's which is great for someone like me who is indecisive at times. the place was kind of loud but only because of three guys who were talking like it was their own house or they didn't care. They said that I could order ahead if I was short on time but I thought to myself that it's a sandwich shop. Put it together, put in under the press and serve it to me shouldn't be that hard. That being said I'd give it another try but give myself more time to sit there and enjoy it this time instead of having to eat it in my car and rush back to work. 3.5 stars would probably be more accurate.

If you're looking for a sandwich, this is the place. It's pretty hidden but their sign will catch your eyes. I've tried I think the dragon breath sandwich which I vaguely remember but I believe it had a hint of spice to it. I recently tried the harvest moon (turkey with cranberry sauce?). What really blew my mind was the reeses peanut butter cookie.

So just experienced this spot for the first time today. Of course I had to rush over and write about it. This place is AMAZING!! If you want to have a fresh sandwhich made for you right in front of you with all fresh ingredients (not like the half-ass stuff you get at subway), then this is the place to go. Friendly service, and a very clean and cute atmosphere. I had the half and half, which I picked a garden salad, which was very refreshing and the balsamic vinaigrette is to die for. The chicken cordon bleu panini was the best panini I have ever tasted! You can really tell how good something is by how fresh the ingredients are. My boyfriend had the tuna melt, which he completely melted over. LOL I will defiantly be going again and trying there many other different sandwhiches that also looked delicious for another lunch break!

I went a while ago so I don't remember the names of the sandwiches that I got but I remember both kinds being very good. I know one was a chicken pesto and the man must have gotten some kind of roast beef because I remember it coming with au jus. I love how this place is decorated. They carry out the witch theme throughout the restaurant pretty well. I also loved the furniture. Very me! The food took a little bit to come out but that's ok because the taste was worth it. Parking is rather limited, however I've never had any problems. I initially went because of a Groupon deal but I wish they were opened longer, it seems like anytime I consider going there it is closed.

The boyfriend and i enjoy eating at mom and pop shops and today we decided to check a new place out. came on yelp and noticed that this place has good reviews so we checked out the menu and made a phone order. we ordered the chicken pesto and dragon's breath sandwiches. i tried the dragon's breath first and i really enjoyed it. gave me a mexican food vibe. i recommend this sandwich. its got lots of bold and savory flavors. next i gave the chicken pesto a try. i don't know if it's because i had the dragon's breath first but i really didn't care for the chicken pesto. it didn't have much flavor and i wish there was more of the garlic pesto spread. in the end, i would def. be coming back. i'm hooked :)

So check this out... The other day I had to get my radiator fixed, so I drove out to Upland and dropped my car off. While I was waiting, I stopped in for lunch at The Sand Witch. I had never been here before, and figured I would give it a try. Walking in, I immediately loved the vibe - Jack FM playing on the radio, beautiful girls behind the counter, and the place was packed - on a Wednesday afternoon. I ordered a panini - two actually, well, sort of. The ladies at The Sand Witch are awesome and let you choose two different halves to make a whole sandwich. I had a Chicken Cordon Bleu for one half, and a Chicken Pesto for the other. The food took a few minutes to make, but as I said, they were busy. The sandwich was AMAZING, hands down. While I loved the Chicken Pesto, I believe the Chicken Cordon Bleu was my favorite only because the dijon mustard they used was so darn good! I live in La Verne, so it's a 12 minute drive for me (I realize this speaks mountains of my laziness), but definitely worth it. I'll be going back this Monday! By the way, the girl with the pink hair is one of the friendliest people you'll ever meet. LOVE THIS PLACE!

I love a good sandwich and they have a sandwich that I LOVE! Now, let me start by saying I am not a vegetarian but if it's good, I'll eat it. Their sandwich, The Brew, is my favorite sandwich. It's a panini-style sandwich with melted provolone, mayo, pickle, red bell pepper, onion, tomato and black olive. It's warm, creamy and gooey and has the perfect amount of acidic tang to each bite. I've tried other sandwiches and they were ok but it's The Brew that keeps me going back. Their sides are alright; the potato salad and macaroni salad aren't special and their soups are tasty but not mind blowing. I'm fully satisfied getting The Brew without any sides. Since I've discovered this place I have not returned to Subway or Quiznos - there's no reason. I have discovered the perfect (vegetarian) sandwich!

We are new to the area and have passed The Sand Witch countless times. We decided to stop yesterday and I am so glad we did! Hubby had the chicken pesto panini, full of flavor - amazing. I had the black cat, also delicious. Everything is fresh, portions are huge and the price is reasonable. What more could you ask for?!

cute sandwich place forrest f discovered back when we lived in upland. next the gas station, this place is super easy to miss but well worth the hunt! cute menu with sandwiches named after their witch-related theme (ex - the black cat). friendly cute girls behind the counter with a slight hard rock edge, service is quick, prices are decent, theme-matching decorations, and ingredients are super fresh (meats taste like they're directly from the deli, thinly sliced, generous helpings, and i like that the iceberg lettuce is also thinly cut, crispy, and chilled). forrest y loves their pasta salad and i like the surprisingly large selection of canned sodas (grape soda, raspberry and lemon iced teas, mountain dew, a&w, and all related diet versions too). minus one star for limited hours - closed on sundays and hey, some of us heart sandwiches for dinner!

bought a groupon to check this place out since it was local. I orderd The Coven and it came with peppered turkey, bacon, pepper jack cheese, and some other things on sourdough and it was great. There is some really cool sandwiches that i wanted to try. Im glad i ate this one. Id try something different next time just because there looks to be alot of good ones. Will be back

I ordered a Turkey and Tomato Pesto Panini and it was pretty good. It was a little on the greasy side though. The mushrooms and cream cheese were a nice touch, but they put way too much cream cheese in it. I never thought I'd say that! It just made the sandwhich really heavy and soggy, and not too pleasant to bite into. I don't even want to know the calories, I can only imagine! It's a cute place, staff is very friendly, prices are good, parking is a little challenging since they only have like 5 spots in front, but go after 12:30 and it's not busy. Look, any sandwhich can be delicious if you put a pound of cream cheese in it, but I guess I expect more from a sandwhich. I like my sandwhich to be thick, not flat, soggy and greasy. I will go there again because I think I just ordered an inherently soggy sandwhich. I will go for a regular turkey next time. Oh and if you order what I did, make sure you eat it at the store. Taking it to go probably made it soggy since it was wrapped so tightly. I do recommend this place despite the imperfections!

I had seen this sandwich shop on 9th Street just west of Mountain Ave. in Upland. I later read the reviews. It looked like a good choice especially after I viewed at their Website menu. I like the added touches of a variety of pesto sauces and great toppings. Plus they have soups. I was hungry for lunch and when I got their I decide to get two sandwiches; one for lunch and one for dinner. I got the Panini Turkey Pesto, it has a creative selection of toppings and sounds delicious. It was very delicious and was packed with tender cuts of meat. My other sandwich was a Traditional Italian...they call it the Witch!!! I was thinking it was going to be like any other Italian sub...No It was a cut above. Again, nice amounts of meat and again there was the pesto sauce; this time it was garlic. It was the best I have had in all of IE even a little better than Claro's. The cuts of meat were the most flavorful I have had. To top it off The service was great. The Two pretty girls behind the counter were nice and helpful and glad to get my business. If they were the witches they were the good type. Also other customers seem to know them on a first name basis. The place was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend you give them a try. One note they are only open from 10 AM to 4 PM.

I don't know what that dude said about it being pricey...you get what you pay for. You want a cheap sandwich get a $5 crap long at subway...The sandwitches ;) here are good! Try the chipotle pesto or sun dried pesto they are awesome. My co-worker and I ride our bikes at least 2 times a week to get a sandwitch from there.

The Sand Witch had become my #1 Favorite sandwich shop of all time. I'm a somewhat a creature of habit and tend to keep ordering the same thing once I've found something I really like. For me it was their Italian Special sub, called, "The Witch." The bread they use is really soft and tasty, but what makes the sandwich is the Garlic Pesto. The other day, I was in the mood for a hot sandwich, which for me usually has something to do with meatballs or Italian sausage, but sadly neither was on the menu. I tried the Roast Beef Dip Panini on the recommendation of the staff and it did not disappoint! While waiting, I took a close look at the menu and spied a few other creations with plans to try them on future visits. As I write this, I'm indulging in their Antipasto Panini sans mushrooms and pepperoncini. This delicious grilled sandwich is otherwise filled with salami, pepperoni, capicola, provolone, onions, olives and per my request, the heavenly garlic pesto. It's like a party in my mouth. Next time, I plan to try the Ham, Cheese (cream), and Chile Panini. The place is clean, the food is fresh, and the staff is friendly. The prices are pretty excellent for the quality of the food. Sandwiches run $6-7. I live 25 miles from here and plan to move my store out of Upland. When I move, I'll be making the occasional trek here just to come to the Sand Witch. On the downside, they are pretty much a lunch only place open between 10-4 weekdays and 11-3 on Saturday.

WOW! Best panini I have ever had! I got the spicy chicken and the cool thing about this place is there are like add ons that modify the sandwitch :) I got it dragon style it adds a lot of spice to it! It was so good! Staff is awesome and it was fast! Great price, even better value!

Love this place. If you are sick of processed lunch meat and blah sandwiches this is the place for you to try. I love the hot pastrami sandwich. With chips and drink will set you back about $8 or so but it will be your best meal of the week. Proud to support local businesses, especially ones as tasty as the Sandwitch!

I dont know whats better... The Coven sandwich or the decor. It is so cute and whimsical inside I smile then entire time I'm in there or is it because the food is so good. I think I might need to go back and figure it out.

Love this place! Went there for the first time today. Love the atmosphere they have going. So far the Antipasto sandwich is my favorite(if your going to get it, get it hot!). Friendly staff, great food. Only issue I have it lack of a "soda fountain", I'm not a fan of can soda when I go out to eat.

Use to love this place . Purchased a groupon and have used it 3 times on the 4th time I was charged a dollar because I needed to buy something else . Did not want anything however rather than waive the dollar they actually took it. Not a big deal but customer service sucks . When I Went to pick up my food the lady who was the owner I mentioned to her it was not a case of the dollar but the principle of it . She said I got a great deal at groupon and implying the dollar was no big deal . I In turn gave her my groupon card back and basically to her she needs the dollar more than I do . Dont get me wrong food great but the customer service and attitude of the owner will not have me coming back..

I really like this sandwich shop. It took a whole lot of "I should go there's" while driving by but I finally did. I've been there three times now and it has been great every time. So far I have I tried The Coven and The Witch. The service is quick and friendly and the food comes out in a timely manner. The only downside is the parking and the lack of seating inside. The place is real small so there isn't much room for tables. If you're going there during the middle of the lunch rush plan on taking it to go.

  • Justine R.

To my surprise this little shop was so near me, I thought, how could I have missed it? The location makes it hard to see from the main street, but it is definitely a locals spot. The small parking lot makes it hard to park because there is such limited space. I ordered the special of the day, Half Chicken Pesto Panini & Cesar Salad for $5.69 . I made it a combo for an extra $1.50 and got a soda and a side. My choice of side was the potato salad, next time I would like to try the macaroni salad. The place is so cute and feels like you are literally have lunch in somebody's house. The tables and chairs are what you would see in somebody's dining room. This is a place is a must !!

  • Sandra Y.

The sandwiches here are so good. The inside isn't much to write about - just a few tables and chairs, but it is beyond adequate. In case the name didn't give it away, the whole place is 'witch' themed, and even the menu items are creatively named. I have been here 2 or 3 times, and was always more than happy with my sandwich - I ordered a side salad once and it wasn't that great, and I'm not sure about the soups because I haven't tried them. The menu is huge and there are options for a variety of preferences.

This place has the BEST vegetarian sandwiches that you will find in the area. The Broomstick is absolutely delicious. To the point that just thinking about it makes me want to go and get one. They have fresh, quality ingredients. Excellent breads. A creative selection. Potato salad as a side. The staff is friendly and gives great suggestions, and the food is served very quickly. I could not recommend this place more.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
