No question this is not the best quick service Mexican food around. Great options, great taste and great price. The carne asada burrito is amazing - If you are al Alberto's fan...Just try this once. Nuff said :) Chicken pollo asada burrito amazing Rolled tacos far better than Alberto's Classic options as well. Love the salsa bar Over all one of the best quick serve Mexican joints around. Salsa bar is fresh and tasty. Love this place.

Horrible customer service! The girl was very rude and unprofessional. I went in at 8:30pm and she told me that they were closed but they don't close until 9. Will not be going back there.

Excellent, fresh food, fair pricing and friendly service ...... It could only be better if they served their food on plates with flatware.

  • Gerald C.

Always liked their breakfast burritos. Employees were nice to me and they take ApplePay!

  • Jared C.

Place is generic Mexican food. Not fresh or tasty.. If it wasn't for the sale items and high school kids this place would probably go out of business. The one thing this place has going for it is the " on special" prices are fitting to the food Quality. This place is perfect for the high school kid on a budget other than that I would not recommend it.

No cash refund sign is right up front for a reason! Even if your food looks disgusting. I did not even touch the carne asada fries, because they did not look appetizing. When I went up to the cash register to say I wanted my money back, the girl said it looked bad because I asked for it with no pico de gallo. I dont understand how that even makes sense! That's just rude and terrible customer service!

I love Mexican food and this is my favorite spot. I love the bacon breakfast burritos, flautas, carnitas tacos, and enchiladas. They have an awesome salsa bar that includes hot carrots. I have been going to this place since I moved to temecula in 2007 and have tried numerous other places, but keep coming back here.

I'm a usual here but one visit changed that. They did nothing to fix my order or address my concern. She just gave me a blank look and acted like I didn't know what I was talking about. She didn't even try to fix the mistake. Sorry, but not coming back. Very disappointed. You guys lost a regular.

  • Gina C.

Of course no one is gonna make Mexican food like my grandma but this place is about as good as it gets for fast Mexican food in Temecula. The beans itself are authentic and street tacos & taquitos r great! When I'm in the Mexican fat-girl mode, this is my jam!

I was in the area and was craving SHRIMP taco/burrito. I saw the "Taco Shop" sign and stopped by. Had several people eating inside. Cashier didn't greet me but that's ok. I ordered the SHRIMP BURRITO, no beans, and reg diet Coke. Paid $9.70. LIttle pricey but whatever. Service was fast and had steady flow of customers since it was around 1pm when I stopped by today. The burrito was decent size but it was GROSSSSS!!!!!! No flavor, whatsoever. Just tasted bland and plain. I tried adding Salsa , but salsa was also bland. Adding to that, the burrito fell apart everytime I pick it up. So I had to eat it with a fork. The salsa that was in the burrito was watery and i think that's what made the burrito gross! I was hungry so I just picked out the shrimp since that's what I paid $10 for! I was a first time customer. I'm sure there had better food in the menu but i will not be coming back to find out!

This taco shop is nothing to drool over. Its decent. But I come from san diego where I have ate at some of the BEST taco shops. This place doesn't even compare. But, its ok. Will KINDA hit the spot when in need, but I would rater drive to albertos off of rancho California by golds gym! (that place it pretty GOOD!) other than the food, the place is clean and they provide great service.

Love this place! The carne asana tacos and shredded beef tacos are amazing! Quick service, great salsa, great food!

At the suggestion of another Yelper I made my way over to this location. And boy was he right on. This place has great taco's and taquitos. Perfectly priced so you can buy them by the half dozen. The re-fried beans seemed ordinary but the tacos and taquitos really stood out. I like the diced carrots in the Mexican rice, it adds a nice touch. Remember this is a TACO SHOP... don't start slamming them because the GRINGO breakfast burrito isn't working for you. Who in there right mind is ordering breakfast burritos anyway. Must be the same type of person eating Kraft Mac N Cheese and loving it.... :) I'm sorry ...... but I've seen some other reviews at different taco restaurants .......and you can't give them 5 stars when they serve green mystery sauce as guacamole and have fatty meat ......... you just can't, its against the rules...... :) Quality is what you'll find here, along with REAL GUACAMOLE. And NO its not cash only! I will definitely be back. As a taco shop its a five star.

My favorite dive Mexican place. The food is always delicious. Place is clean and service fast with cheap prices.

  • Jessica Z Christopher C.

Going here for years, we call it "cheep Mexican" it's a little on the greasy side but we are fine with. We recently move (just about a mile south) and I got the breakfast burritos, 20 of them. I ordered a few days before and they had them ready to go the morning I needed them. They gave me a 10% discount for ordering that many. The only down side is they only take cash no cards.

    (4)
  • K D.

Best Carne asada burrito in the world! Don't bother going anywhere else. Go here don't waist you time with Los primos or albertos.

Had the 4 taco lunch special ..half carne asada half pollo ..excellent !

I was a little worried that this place wasn't going to be that great because my wife and I are very picky when it comes to eating Menudo...so we were pleasantly surprised to see that the menudo was great!! Great flavor and a good color to it. Needles to say we will be returning for the menudo alone!! This place is a must try.

Best Mexican food in the Murrieta/Temecula area!

    (5)
  • Nino R.

3 stars is a stretch for this place, but the carnitas burrito saved them from ignominy. On my first trip here I ordered the breakfast burrito. You have your choice of bacon or ham while the other ingredients include a fried egg and refried beans. At a little under $4.50, I wasn't impressed at all. There was a slice of ham, a single fried egg, and a crapload of refried beans. Why is it every time I cheat on Alberto's I'm the one that gets the raw deal? Still, the best breakfast burritos can be found at the Alberto's on Murrieta Hot Springs. This afternoon I stopped by for a late lunch and ordered the Carnitas Burrito. Fantastic. Not as good as Alberto's, but pretty close. The salsa bar here is top notch--better than Alberto's. The pickled carrots and pico de gallo are very good and home made. But the pricing is off, especially when you pack an unnecessary amount of refried beans in your burrito. However, the dining room is immaculate so I'll give them another nod on that one. As far as trying to modify your food you can forget about it. I overheard other customers trying to subtract and add things to their combos and every time the cashier said no. Cash only! For for cheating on you again Alberto's...

I have been coming to El Ranchito for years, and I love their shredded beef tacos and they have the best ones out of all the Mexican places; I have gone to and ordered shredded beef tacos from.

    (3)
  • Eduardo M.

It's an average Mexican restaurant that has the average menu from tacos, burritos combination plates. I tried a carne asada burrito & it was all packed with meat & some guacamole. The meat did gave some flavor which did fill me up.

    (3)
  • Emma B.

    Good food, great service !

    (5)
  • Mike L.

Food is good. The best is the shredded chicken burrito. Service could be better. Cash only.

    (4)
  • Justin T.

Just the best crunchy beef tacos you've ever had in your life. Their shredded beef has to made by magical unicorns because I just don't know how you get that much juiciness into shredded beef. I eat here at least once a week and just yesterday I ventured away from beef tacos to the beef chimichanga. Man it was just as good. So the food is good, however, the staff is not the most friendly but in the end, I'll endure some pretty bad customer service to eat food this good. Prices are excellent too.

    (4)
  • Kevin L.

Came here for lunch with one of my Hispanic friend. 4 tacos and drink 7.49. Both of us likes it because the taco are flavorful, price was right and the service was fast.

    (4)
  • Russell R.

If you want the best shrimp cocktail you've ever had, try this one. It comes out in a huge margarita goblet, full of shrimp and delicious sauce. I add 5 of the little ketsup packages (ask for them), squeeze in three slices of lime and hit it with several dashes of Tapatio hot sauce. Extra cilantro and onions are also available for the asking. If you can find it better than this, tell us where. For now this one is tops. Still disappointed they eliminated the senior discount, though.

    (5)
  • Kris C.

I know I am suppose to be doing back flips here while twirling batons...it just didn't click for me. By no means was the food bad but it wasn't socks being knocked off either or even take off my shoes good. Anyway, the service was quite good and the food came out promptly. (I came here for lunch and did take out).

    (3)
  • R J.

Against my better judgement, my wife talked me into coming here (instead of ALBERTO'S). We ordered some beef tacos, and they were very very skimpy on the cheese. I went back and asked if they could put a little more cheese, and they were going to actually CHARGE ME to put some cheese on the tacos. For 40 cents worth of cheese, you lost me and all my friends and all my sons friends from Chaparral HS as customers. HOPE IS WAS WORTH IT. Keep up the LOUSY customer service.

  • Mommy Z.

Delicious rolled tacos, chorizo burrito and excellent Menudo! Taco salsa is delicious!Friendly fast service! They now accept credit cards!

    (5)
  • Bob A.

Great food not greasy like some other places and food is delicious and flavorful only downside is they only take cash but worth the trip to the ATM for this place.

  • CINDY G.

One of my favorite places to eat Mexican Food in Temecula! I have been going to this taco shop for over 7 years.. staff know me.. and I have always been pleased with my food. Staff is very helpful and attentive. They are always friendly which is a plus! They also do phone orders which is awesome because they can get pretty busy, and I love the pissed off looks I get when I walk in and my food is ready! HA HA HA! Don't hate me people! Just call it in and you will be happy like me. :) My usual meal is the green enchiladas combo and some horchata. Green enchiladas are awesome! The beans and rice are pretty good, you know the beans and rice have to be good at a Mexican place. I also have a bag of their chips which are made fresh. Horchata is very yummy, not from the machine! (Major plus for me). They have a variety of salsas.. my favorite is the dark red salsa and the green salsa spicy and flavorful. The shop is clean and usually busy which is a good sign for this small chain. They used to be cash only but now they accept credit cards. They also have an ATM inside the shop for your convenience. The prices are good, and the food is yummy so that's what keeps me coming here.

First, the carne asada burrito was very good. The issue I had was with the service. In their defense, I was a bit of a pain in the butt customer. My wife is Asian and was "jones-ing" for some rice. So I asked them to add rice to their taco salad. It took some back and forth with the girl behind the counter to reach that decision. Then I tried to pay with a credit card while a rather large "cash only" sign was staring at me. I walked to a nearby ATM (the ATM in the restaurant was out of order) and came back to re-order my food. I asked them to hold the sour cream on the taco salad at least three times. When I got home, it had three giant scoops of sour cream and very little rice. Just get the feeling it was not an accident. The girl behind the counter was not the most patient I've come across. My burrito was very good. We ended up throwing the wife's taco salad away. Pretty disappointing. Plenty of mexican restaurants in the area with similar quality food and much better customer service.

  • Susan M.

From the first moment I tasted the carne asada taco, I was hooked! Bite after bite of the savory carne asada melted in my mouth. Now, I go here often to get lunch to go because the price is right and the food is good. I also tried a burrito, but it just was not as good as the tacos!

    (4)
  • Tamber G.

The place was packed when we got here! Great service! Menudo was good. Beef flautas were great! Carne asada burrito was just ok :) no tamarindo though :(

  • Yvette U.

Love the Super Nachos! Note: they only take CASH. ATM inside, but it charges a service fee.

    (3)
  • Jeff S.

Definitely one of the "Nicest" Taco Shops in the area. It's super clean, food is delicious, and service was decent enough as expected. Something about growing up with the Hemet El Ranchito and La Cabana Taco Shops as somewhat weekly ritual, something made me feel like the portions are slightly smaller than the other locations.

    (4)
  • Jason B.

Good food, good prices. Nothing really outstanding about the place, but it's good.

    (3)
  • Deborah S.

Very good food. Unfriendly, bordering on rude service today and several times prior. The girls at the counter today talked between themselves about boyfriends, etc. No" thank you", just shoved my bag of food across the counter at me. Won't be back. Done.

    (3)
  • James S.

I will definitely drive across town for this place. It's like a Benito's ( yelp.com/biz/benitos-tac… ), but with less trannies and crack deals going on! I can enjoy my bean and cheese burrito while looking at cheesy poster graphics! I love it! Go here and eat the food! But don't bring your debit card! It's useless! It's like 1992 at El Ranchito!

    (5)
  • Jennifer A.

Delicious food! It has been consistently good for years.

    (4)
  • Crystal A.

It was average. Hot sauce not spices. Some flavor but not a lot. Kinda bland. Nothing out of the ordinary. Place was slow. We were only one of two couples there. But yet, tables weren't clean. Cashier, Rose, was nice tho.

    (2)
  • Jenny P.

Yum! I've been looking for a place like this! So delicious. Great carne asada burrito and shredded beef tacos. Staff was nice. Great little taco shop. Will definitely be returning!

    (5)
  • Princess C.

I've been going to this taco shop for over 6 years now. This is the best taco shop in the area, by far. The food is consistently good, it is very flavorful and not greasy. The chips are awesome and very addicting. I live in Murrieta and I pass about 10 other mexican food restaurants on my way to El Ranchito's, but thats ok...I know its worth the extra drive.

    (5)
  • Eva S.

Excellent food everytime. Reminds me of the fresh food my mom cooks.

  • Mike H.

We have gone to this place EVERY Tuesday for years now because, with a coupon, they had 99 cent tacos. Things have been tight for us, so this allowed us to have one meal out every week. They used to be cool about allowing us to copy our coupons, but 6 months ago they told us no more. If we wanted a coupon we would have to "find" one ourselves. My husband got pissy with them and told them that sucked. Right before he was leaving one of the employees who knew my husband was a regular, slipped him 20 coupons and we were able to continue our Tuesday tradition. But last week we ran out of coupons, hoping he could sweet talk them into giving us a deal because we are regulars proved fruitless. No one seemed to give a rat's rear end that we are regulars for years now. No coupon, no 99 cent tacos. Period. Without the coupon the tacos are $2.50. A bargain, yes, for their tasty tacos, but just too rich for our blood when you need to buy several. So, we will now have to trek over to Puerto Nuevo in Murrieta because even though we like El Ranchito more, we simply can't afford them. And atleast Puerto Nuevo doesn't require a coupon for their Taco Tuesday event....ever.

  • Chris G.

Best tacos I've had in a long time. Super fresh, authentic, and easy on the wallet. The carne asada tacos are the bomb!!! (And not a gutbomb!) :)

    (5)
  • K S.

This is the best. Every time we have friends and family in visiting, we take them here. The absolute best! They just added a debit/credit card option which makes it that much easier. Everything on the menu is authentic and awesome.

    (5)
  • Isis R.

Probably some of the best mexican food around here. They pretty much have all mexican food basics and more. You can customize your order for just a bit extra. Love this place.

    (4)
  • Space O.

Very, very good. I went looking for this place based on its reviews here on Yelp. After a while, I did find it (all those strip malls and shopping areas begin to look the same at night). First, bring cash. No credit cards accepted, although there is an ATM in the dining area. Second, order your meal. I had one of the specials - pollo asado burrito, beans, rice and drink for $7.53. Large, well prepared burrito. I ate half and brought the remainder home. Third, check out the bar with the salsas and carrots. And yes, believe what the labels say...hot is hot! People were friendly, parking was easy and the time to prepare the order was reasonable.

    (4)
  • Carole S.

Went due to reviews and was very disappointed. If I was only looking for a greasy mini Baja taco, then it was fine but I wanted something big and juicy. All I got was a 5-bite taco and my mouth is not very large, and the Al Pastor meat was tough. How you get tough meat when it is diced into little tiny pieces I don't know, but they did. The radish they served with the taco was larger than the amount of fillings in the taco. Not worth the money. By far the best tacos are Chronic Tacos, big and well filled and oh so good.

    (2)
  • H Q.

I stopped by here because I was in the area and saw the reviews here on Yelp. I tried the 4 Taco Special, which was no longer $5.50, but $6.99, which made it their most expensive Special. I got them with Carne Asada instead of Chicken like the previous poster. The girl taking my order was nice. She was helpful and gave me my drink and chips right away. I tried the milder salsa at the salsa bar. It was really good! Very tasty, fresh and complimented the chips perfectly. I finished off the chips and waited for my tacos. I waited a little longer than I would have like to. Someone that came in a minute or two after me got their meal before me. When I got my tacos, they reminded me of these yummy tacos I used to get at the Plaza Pasadena Mall many many years ago. I still had to wait to eat them because they were really hot (kinda like the room temperature). I put some salsa on it to try and cool it down. Once I was able to eat them, I found them to be really delicious and worth the wait. The meat was just right, not tough at all or too spicy. The tortilla was a tad oily though. Admittedly, I was a little disappointed at the portions at first, but I left feeling really full. Maybe I ate too fast because they were so good. I would eat here again just to try the burritos which looked really good, but unfortunately it probably won't happen any time soon. This location is the closest one to me and it's 60 miles away.

  • Andre A.

This taco shop is definitely one of the better places around here. I don't know why I didn't come here more often when I lived out here! It is kinda hidden at the end of the shopping center. I tried one of their care asada tacos and it was good like others have said. It was a lot better than other taco shops. Their bean and cheese burrito was good too. It would be even better if the flour tortilla was more like other places. This one tasted more like the ones you can buy at the store.

    (4)
  • Anthony S.

Great food. Tried the 3 taco plate. I wanted three more ! The bad part is they skimp HARD on the chips. The salsa was great. I am going back soon.................

    (4)
  • trent m.

Defanitely one of the best and most consistent around. My only issue is with the carne asada burrito. Its OK, just not as good as some of their other food. Im not into lettuce as being standard in a C.A.B.

    (4)
  • Lynn F.

I love this El Ranchito!!! Their rolled tacos are the best around, and their beans are always delicious. This is in my opinion the best taco shop in Temecula. WAAAYYY better than Rosa's. Their hot carrots and salsas are consistently delicious. I would go every day if I could! It is a pain that they only accept cash, and it seems like when we've needed to use their ATM it's broken. However, their food is soooo good that to us it's worth it! We go about once a week and always have great food.

    (5)
  • Rich M.

Definitely the best taco shop i've tried in Temecula food wise. The service isn't spectacular, but i'm not really there for that. The smokey style salsa is really tasty. I ordered the tostada/taco/enchilada special the other day for 5.99. very good price and included a drink. The place has been packed every time I go there and not with just gringos, the sign of a truly decent taco shop. Not perfect, but the best i've found locally so far.

    (4)
  • Jason S.

Great Food at Great Prices. I cant say enough abou the food and service here. My favorite is the Chicken soft taco special, four tacos and a drink for 5.50. Salsa bar is also beter than most and hot carrots too.

    (5)
  • Gary M.

Really good food. Some of the best Mexican food in the area. Fair priced too. Kind of a hole in the wall type of shop, but those are often the best.

    (4)
  • Shelly V.

This is perhaps the best Taco Shop in Temecula. Always a tell-tale sign of a whether you've found a good taco shop is the crowd (or lack there of) and this place is always packed. Menu is typical burritos, tacos, tortas... try the combination plates (each around $5.50) for a great deals and big portions. My particular favorites are the Carnitas Soft Tacos ($1.29 each) and the Fish Burrito ($3.50). The beans are great probably full of lard but worth every trans fat laden bite. Salsa bar with three or four choices lets you heat up your items to your liking. If you are hung over try the Menudo available everyday ($3.99 bowl) and delicious and if you don't know what Menudo is eat it first ask questions later. See that envelope of coupons that comes in the mail for a few pretty good deals.

  • Foodie B.

Don't live in the area but have relatives who do and everytime I visit, I always stop by. Can't get enough of their fried taco with shredded beef. The combos are such a deal! Wish they open one the OC.

Great taco shop and location. I live in Murrieta but am willing to drive there because of its' quality and value. Good menudo and great carna asada.

  • Robert Z.

Tacos, Tacos, And More Tacos. Tried this place out today for a late lunch. It's a solid 3 1/2 Star Taco Joint. Tried Four Different Types. Carnitas. Carna Asada. Lingua. And A Fish Taco. The Carna Asada was a little dry and tough. The Fish was pretty good and quite large compared to the other street tacos. THe Carnitas Taco was outstanding and was my favorite of the four. The Lingua (Beef Tongue) was a little over cooked but super tender. Better Tacos than some I've had. There is plenty of Parking, and plenty of seating. The prices are fair on most of their items. The Salsas are not bad but their hottest wasn't all that hot. However the flavor was good. The service was friendly and fast and pleasant. All in all I will eat here again next time I'm in the area. Enjoy

All taco shops are not created equal. Came here with no expectation and ordered one of their specials which consisted of a beef (shredded) taco, cheese enchilada, bean tostada, & a drink for $6.99...not too shabby. The place was so clean (bathrooms included) and the staff was kind and professional. I did come on a Saturday night maybe 30 minutes before closing time (10p), which probably had something to do with it, but hey, maybe that's the key! That beef taco was one of the best I've had in a long time! Yum! The shell was fried to perfection, and the meat was very tender and moist. They also didn't skimp on the cheese, which is my taco shop pet peeve. A-okay in my book. I'd definitely come back here if I were in the area. Check them out. Enjoy!

  • Sandra F.

Wow! Okay, I'm from the southern tip of the OC...basically, grew up on some of THE best Mexican food you'll ever eat. The El Ranchito Taco Shop, reminds me of my childhood - fresh, delicious, and excellent Mexican food. The shop looked very clean, and more importantly, smelled clean ~ I'm picky that way. ;) My son chomped down his Carne Asada burrito, and described the meat as, "perfectly seasoned, juicy, and tender - not chewy at all." Everything we ordered was fresh and yummy...the service was quick and very friendly. El Ranchito is our new favorite.

OH My!!!! This place is Amaaaaazing!!! My office orders from here alllll the time and have yet to have a reason to complain! from there beans, to tacos, even their salads this place is perfect every time. The Carne Asada is flavored perfectly that i cant even eat it from anywhere else! if I could give more then A five star this place with have it!!

Carne asada burritos are great.....picky daughter loves their carne asada burrito....and recommend the rolled tacos

  • Dave W.

Service was quick and friendly. First time here so just got a couple tacos. One asada (beef) and one lengua (tongue). Hot sauces at condiment bar were good. Pickled jalapeño, carrots, and onions were perfect. Busy at lunch time too is a great sign. Would come back for sure. Tortillas held up well too, which is a big plus for me.

I gave this restaurant only 4 stars because I've only tried a few items. For lunch we ordered 2 orders of the Supreme Tacquitos (4) with a drink. Being San Diego Natives we had high hopes even though they were called Tacquitos, they would taste like San Diego Rolled Tacos. They DID!!! So excited! Later for dinner we ordered sides of rice and beans to take home, the beans were AMAZING! I do feel it's over priced though, $15.10 for lunch?! $8 for a standard size of rice and beans?! However if your craving rolled tacos, it's still cheaper than driving to SD. my favorite mexican so far! UPDATE: always consistently good, our go to for Mexican in Temecula. Mmmmm

Very bad service the lady with the caked up face was extremely rude ... She shouldn't do customs service . Service was very under par. Food is pretty good wouldn't recommend it to yelp users

El Ranchito USED to be the best of the best mexican restaurants in Temecula. My family and I used to come here at least twice a week and each time was astounded by the delicious food. However as the years went by, the quality of the food slowly began to dwindle. Now, The food is pretty mediocre. While they are far from the worst, they are definitely no longer the best. They used to be the restaurant I craved and longed for while away at college and now that I've moved back, I would probably not even go here. Price-wise, they are pretty much priced the same as any other mexican restaurant in the area. They do have some good specials that come with extra sides and a drink. I'm not sure if it was just that one time I came here, but I think the portions have also gotten smaller. Such a bummer that this place is no longer the greatness that it once was!

Cheap, fast, super tasty Mexican food....what more could you want? My family has been going to El Ranchito at one location or another for near 20 years and will continue to do so as long as the doors stay open. We've tried pretty much everything on the menu and have never been disappointed.

"NO BUENO" !!!! VERY POOR QUALITY OF FOOD, SMALL PORTIONS AND RUDE/BAD SERVICE If you scroll all the way down to the bottom you will see a link that says... "29 other reviews that are not currently recommended " Seems this is yelp.com/not_recommended… This place was a 1st and last visit. There was only 1 other customer and it was a to go order. I ordered the "Grilled Chicken" burrito as it was advertised on the menu with the specific words..."GRILLED CHICKEN" I clarified with the gal and she told me it was indeed a grilled chicken breast inside each burrito. (If only she had been truthful and not rude) The burrito was (WARM) and after 3 bites I got only the taste of rice and beans...Keep in mind it was a $ 7.00 burrito and when I opened up the tortilla there was a few tiny and I mean very tiny little nibble bits of chicken no bigger than the size of a dime. Maybe 2 1/2 oz of chicken total with rice and beans for $ 7.00 I asked the gal what the portion size of the meal was and she said that it was about 4-6 oz. I then took the burrito up front and showed them the few and tiny pieces of chicken that were inside............ Here is where the problem could have easily been resolved but instead I was met with a real BAD AND NEGATIVE ATTITUDE. She stated....."This is our grilled chicken and that's it....your interpretation is different and that's ours". This link below is just one of the many pictures that GOOGLE shows about "GRILLED CHICKEN" not the micro mini nibbles I got. seriouseats.com/2012/06/… Does this woman argue and fight with every customer??? Not to mention the foul and nasty language she used again me, in front of me to her co-workers about me in Spanish.....Hey not everybody advertises that they speak Spanish and guess what lady......I speak Spanish.......Jokes on you !!! She would not get a manager and said she was in charge and that there was noting she would do. What horrible customer service...Bad move lady....Well this is what I am doing on Yelp so that others do not have to endure the same horrible and demeaning experience. I left and shared this horrible experience with 2 others who said they were also once and only customers there also for crappy food.

Bookmarked El Ranchito awhile back, finally tried it before wine tasting earlier this week. This is a tiny little place located in a shopping center a couple miles North of wine country. As soon as I got to the register I noticed a sign stating they will no longer give out complimentary chips and another sign that says Jamaica and Horchata refills are $1.08...made me wonder if this place is falling on hard times. At lease the soda refills are still free! I ordered a #1 combo, a hard taco with shredded beef, a cheese enchilada, rice, and beans. Combos don't come with a drink so I ordered one of those too, and my meal came to just under $10. My food was alright. My favorite part of the meal was definitely the taco, there is nothing better than a well made shredded beef taco, in my opinion. This one was spot on for what I like. The enchilada though, was just meh, the beans were runny, and the rice needed some spicing up with salsa. My friend ordered taquitos, which she enjoyed but I did not try. I saw another person's order of carne asada street tacos that looked good. I suppose their name is "Taco Shop" so maybe tacos are the only way to go here. I will try it again on another trip to Temecula, stick to tacos only, and see how I feel about it then.

They have menudo daily, unlike other restaurants that only serve it on weekends. The menudo was great and you get a pretty big portion. The burritos however are quite small for the price.

Worst food ever! Can't understand the high reviews. Came here on a Sunday night with my husband and my visiting sister and her family. Ordered some carnitas. carne asada and chicken taco combo plates. Everything we ordered was served lukewarm; what's worst is we were the only order they were fulfilling. The meat in the carne asada taco tasted old and of low quality meat. Rice and beans were bland and boring. On top of that- the place smelled old and musty. The service didn't make up for the bad food either- the girls at the counter were a bit annoyed when we asked questions about their menu items. Don't waste your time or money.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
