I came here for a company dinner on a weekday, and it was okay. We were seated in a room, and it was pretty nice. We were given some pita bread with the oil/cheese/vegetable mix, and it was okay but not very flavorful. The pita bread, when still hot, was very chewy and good, but after it cooled off, it was not as chewy; it became slightly hard. Anyway, we ordered some appetizers: Mezze Platter with Housemade Flatbread (babaghanoush, hummus, tabbouleh, tomato, olives & pepperoncini) - The babaghanoush, which is basically mashed up eggplant, was very good. The flavor was great, and the eggplant was soft. The hummus had an interesting flavor; somewhat light, but still good. The tabbouleh was really light in flavor; it could have done with more. The pepperoncinis weren't spicy, but paired with the hummus and pita bread, it was really good. Antipasto Platter - The meats weren't overly impressive, and the vegetables were pretty oily. I wouldn't recommend getting this. Fish Plate - The smoked salmon flavor was good, but it was almost crunchy; it didn't have the smooth fish texture. The ahi tuna was alright though. The fish ceviche was quite good, although it could've done with more fish. I also ordered the Persian noodle soup, which was quite flavorful and unlike anything else I've eaten before. It was very thick, closer to stew than soup. The noodles were overcooked, but the flavor was good and it wasn't too oily. I would recommend this! For my entree, I got the lamb soltani, which came with a skewer of rolled beef and a skewer of lamb, as well as saffron rice, asparagus, tomato, bell pepper, and bok choy (which I thought was out of place). The rolled beef was delicious! Tons of flavor, very chewy beef, would recommend. The lamb however was not quite as good. It was a bit tougher, and it wasn't very flavorful. It just tasted like meat, no flavors beyond that. The rice didn't have any flavor until the bottom of the plate where the meat juices were soaked up by the rice, and the vegetables were just normal. In general, I wasn't overly impressed by the food nor the service, but it was a decent meal. Expensive though; good thing the company paid!

Overpriced hotel food. We had reservations at lunch but had to sit at the bar. What's the point of reservations??

I took my clients here for lunch and it was pretty good. The waiter seemed like he couldn't hear and we had to repeat our orders several times. It was pretty packed, so get there early. My mahi mahi kabob with basmati rice and green beans was very good. The view of the grounds was nice and clean. I would definitely come back.

Over priced hotel crap! Never again. Really slow service, food was like a food court. I got my leftover 1/2 a pizza returned to me in a card board box upside down! Way to go d-bags! had to ask for my bill 3 times before finally having the manager close me out. It's the only place to eat in this hotel so do your self a favor and go out to eat or get delivery.

I booked this place for Valentines day a month in advance. We got there 10 minutes early and was wondering why no one was working at the front to check us in. There were a few couple reserved the same time waiting til someone shows up. I started to have a bad feeling about this so finally after 10 minutes WAITING the manager shows up. He was telling there was something wrong with their system so it did not show any of the Opentable reservations and we had to wait about 30 minutes. OMG you got to be kidding me! So everyone was pissed off and either waited at the bar or the chairs. After 40 minutes, they finally sat us. They were lucky me and my gf have patience, but we still enjoy each other's company on this special day. Overall, I would give this place 1 star, but some food was good and the waitress was very nice. In my opinion, dont ever come here on special days or make reservations. This was first we ever had to wait this long on making reservations.

Came to Faz on a business trip lunch. Honestly had to take away a star because parking was a total nightmare (ok, got that out of the way). -- Restaurant was close to my work site for the week and I passed it a couple times. It was highly recommended by hotel staff too. Usually when things peak my interest I try them. In this case I was not overly impressed with the delivery. -- Food was decent, albeit not spectacular. My co-workers and I shared an appetizer plate that was a Mediterranean Sampler. A few good flavors, but found the dolmas were soggy and tasteless. -- I got the Grilled Avocado and Prawn salad. Really wasn't much to write home about. There just was not much seasoning, and the blandness struck a chord with me. -- We also got plenty of naan bread, which was good...especially with the hummus and oil. It was a serviceable business lunch outside on the patio, pretty quiet, good service from the wait staff, and glad I tried it. Next time up north I'll probably try something else, but Faz was OK. ENJOY!

I have been here many times for business lunches and dinners. The food is good generally, but it is overpriced. The Persian rolled beef is a "specialty" but it's basically street food, i.e. meat loaf on a stick. Throw some rice on the plate next to and charge $13 for it? Anyway, I hadn't bothered writing a review until tonight's meal which was so underwhelming I had to say something. I usually get a seafood pasta dish. Often there is a main menu item as well as a special seafood pasta. These have generally been decent in the past. Tonight I tried the lamb shank ($18 a la carte). It reminded me of my meal at the Black Bear Diner in Willows. yelp.com/biz/black-bear-… The lamb shank seemed as if it had been cooked in a non flavored broth or basically in a steam oven. The sauce that came with it was rather unimpressive and did not seem as if it enjoyed the flavor that should have come out of cooking a shank, In the sauce were chunks of carrot and potato that were severely undercooked. The meal was obviously one of these creations where different components are simply placed in the dish together, having never met beforehand. At the prices Faz charges, this is just unacceptable.

My company has hosted dinner every year for five years. I used to love coming here. Recent experience, not so much. For one thing, the appetizers they served have gone WAY downhill. Last year it was small bits of cooked lamb, shrimp rolls, and spring rolls. This year they slapped some pulled pork on slider buns with a little lettuce, and cut up a few egg rolls that were obviously pre-made and didn't have much taste, with sauce that you could tell came from a jar. They weren't bad, but not the sort of food I expect from high-end looking places like this. Better that kind of food served in a bar. As for the main meal, the experience started off fine. The arugula and radicchio salad with the blue cheese was delicious, and pretty much the only reason I give this place two stars instead of one. After that, nothing went right. We were having the speeches and socialization outside on the patio, with dinner inside, and the waiters delivered the salads to empty tables while everyone was out. For some reason, they did not give our table bread, which is sad when the olive oil/cheese dip looked so good. It took them over 40 minutes and several tries at contacting three different waiters before bread was finally brought over. But by that time, the main course had already been served to us. Most of my table ordered steak. I don't know what kind of experience the chef has, but he's obviously never heard of seasoning. There was NO seasoning at all on either the steak or the green beans with red bell pepper. I'm not joking...I took one bite of the steak and it tasted like absolutely nothing. The roasted potatoes were slightly seasoned, but a few were also served undercooked...one of my biggest pet peeves. At least the cooked ones tasted decent, but in my reviews undercooked potatoes automatically bring down the star rating. Also, I know there are going to be some differences in the served plates, but at our table, the differences were WAY overpronounced. For instance, the person next to me only had about half the amount of green beans that I did, and no red bell pepper at all. My steak was a "chunk" about an inch and a half thick and cooked rare, while the other plates had different thickness meats of varying degrees cooked various ways, none of which were even close to the same. I asked others in my party about the other dishes of choice, like the sea bass, and several of them agreed that it was a bland, uninteresting meal that completely lacked any kind of seasoning. The only one who seemed satisfied was the person next to me who got the tomato/artichoke pasta instead of the steak. I did not stay for the dessert course, but did not regret it...if it was anything like the meal, I would not have been impressed anyway. Trust me, you don't want to eat here. At least not the steak, and probably not the sea bass.

Came here for a lunch meeting in one of their large banquet rooms. There was a buffet of pita, rice, vegetables, ravioli, and chicken. The rice was my favorite, but wish there was something to dip the pita bread into. The ravioli was tasty, but tasted hints of cilantro which I didn't like. The chicken was so dry I didn't care for it. The staff was friendly but they disappeared quickly and didn't take our plates away when the meeting started. Overall, food was pretty good but wish the meat was juicier and tender.

Rating clarification - the food was very good; the service and the prices, not so much. I came here for a work lunch with around 10 colleagues on a weekday afternoon around noon. We had made reservations, so we were promptly seated in a room near the back of the restaurant. Our server took drink and appetizer orders fairly promptly, but from then on out service was very poor. When the drinks were delivered to the table, my pregnant colleague did not get her water. The server acknowledged it was missing & stated it was on its way. It took at least 15 minutes (if not longer) and us pointing it out again for that one water to be delivered. After we were almost through with the appetizers, we realized we had not ordered our meals yet. We had to flag down our server to ask if we could order. Once ordering began, she informed us that one of the items on the daily specials menu was no longer available. This would have been very helpful to know earlier as several people had wanted to order that item & needed more time to decide on a back up. I ordered the Grilled Avocado & Prawn salad and it was very delicious. Not $18 delicious, but thankfully this was a company sponsored lunch. There were 5 or 6 large prawns, a half of an avocado with a tasty aioli on top, and a good amount of deliciously ripe mango slices around a plate of lettuce. Many of my colleagues enjoyed their meals as well (Kobe Burger, Rolled Chicken & Rolled Beef Combo Kabob, Filet Mignon Kabob & Chopped Grilled Vegetable Salad, Chicken Kabob were some of the meals ordered that they enjoyed). At one point, my manager got up and took the water pitcher off the counter behind our table and brought it over to our table because our server had not been in sight for quite some time and many of us had empty glasses. The lack of service may have been because the tip was already included on the bill due to our party size, but that is a shame. I doubt my manager will want to come back here for a work lunch because of our experience. I will likely not be coming back because of the high prices, even though I really enjoyed my salad.

Overpriced food, you pay just for location. Melon juice is an extreme rip off but tastes so fresh and good. Kitchen is fast but the service slow. Plates of fully cooked food was just sitting there waiting for waiters to deliver them to the tables. I had the noodle soup ($7) and lobster and scallop paste ($26). It was yummy, but the slow service and overpriced items only have me coming here only for work occasions, never on personal ones.

Perfect place for a dinner! Peter ( manager) was just great! Bartender didn't do a very good job making a drink for me and my girlfriend, but Peter stepped in right away and did it the way we wanted it - very impressed! I always appreciate when management takes care of a customer who is a bit disappointed. Food is very good. Everybody makes mistakes - its the way how u take care of them - thats what is important!

We came with a party of 7 and were treated very graciously by a gentleman who spoke farsi. The restaurant is large but was quiet for a Saturday night. Their was a party outside that was celebrating a graduation. They are a middle eastern restaurant but are more on the Americanized side of middle eastern cuisine. I loved my veggie kabobs and the table enjoyed the hummus and bread. The only issue we had was that we were seated by a room rented by the large party. In the middle of our dinner they started blasting music for the party. I understand that they had rented the venue prior but I just wish so done would have notified us and placed us at a table that wasn't the closest to the stereo. We couldn't hear each other for the other half of dinner. They did offer to move us but we already had our food and it would have been awkward to move. Other than that I recommend this place!

I met the WORST service person i have ever encountered today - at lunch at Faz. I was humiliated, yelled at and forbid to be seated because I wanted to get a table for my business lunch while waiting for my customers to arrive. The GM was a total jerk ( I think the name is Asad.), It's sad because all the other service staff were super friendly and helpful. Here is what happened. I came in 30 minutes early to take a table for my business lunch. One lady was about to seat me, then this GM came up and stopped her. He yelled at me "it's a LAW for restaurants that 50% of the party need to be present to be seated". I asked why? He continues "what if the other parties do not show up?" I said, " in that case, I still need to eat." He went "in that case, I will put you on a table for one person. go wait!" I stepped outside for a few minutes - I was waiting for my customer and didn't want to make a scene. More importantly, I didn't want to bring myself to his level. Then I came back - another gentlemen greeted me " what can I do for you?" The GM saw me and came to stop him - " She can not be seated because her other parties are not here yet?" I went - You are very rude to me. I am here for a business lunch meeting, why can't I sit down now and have something to eat and drink while waiting? You do not have anything written in sight that says there is such a rule that prevents me from being seated. He rolled his eyes to me pointing out he is being rude. Then said, what are you going to do when you sit down? I said, I will eat something probably, I am hungry. He goes, are you going to order? I said, sure I can. He still refused to seat me. The nice gentleman and another hostess were looking at me very empathetically. They felt sorry for me. I was so humiliated. I come to this restaurant for business lunches because of the convenience. Even though I stayed for lunch today because I didn't want to inconvenience my customer. Yet, after he learnt how horribly I was treated before he arrived - he told me - we will not come back here again. Its just not right to treat anybody like that. If you have gone this far, thank you for your patience. I want to publish here because such behavior should not be tolerated. I found another yelp review back in 2012 using the words like "Vulgar, rude" to describe the same person I believe. If such a terrible person is in charge of the restaurant, who else can fix the issue?

Have you ever had a first date, and were fraught with anxiety over what foods are "safe" to eat? Well, I haven't. But I HAVE had a lunch interview once, and I suspect that is the next best (Or worst?) thing. I'd recommend Faz as a "Good First Impression" restaurant. The ambiance is on the classy side, and it's filled with a variety of people because of the hotel next door. But the best part is that they serve dishes that won't cause slurpy noises, greasy fingers, or awkward incidents that result in having more food on your lap than on your plate. Don't judge, this is a real problem for some of us. The dishes I have in mind are the kabobs. They were surprisingly tender and very juicy. The meat is cooked to perfection, so you don't need to worry about any tough or dry pieces getting stuck in your teeth during the meal. They also offer a variety of meats (And a vegetable one for you vegetarians), so you and your guest can order different things and share. Delicious AND interactive! What fun. I didn't get a chance to really enjoy the food, since I was a little too nervous about what I was supposed to talk about. But any restaurant that leaves me with my stomach full AND my dignity intact deserves 4 stars.

Was disappointed, not just in the restaurant but also thay it is the only one near my hotal... And its at the hotel... It was busy, which is usually a good sign.... Yeah, not so much... Service, forgettable... No wait... Apparently the customers were forgettable. Salad... Ordered a roasted beet salad on butter lettuce with aged sherry vinaigrette and Pablo crusted goat cheese. Sounds wonderful, right? What I got was canned beets (soggy) with sherry vinaigrette saturated mixed greens and a few little pieces of goat cheese... and a mean little and a few..... For my entrée i tried to do better, I ordered the chicken kabab... The chicken was good; moist, flavorful and just the right seasoning. Everything else on he plate was bland... Ah, such is the life of a traveler without a car.... Hope i have better luck tomorrow night for dinner

Always a reliable restaurant to go for business lunches, I highly recommend making reservation ahead of time during the week for lunches as at times there are conferences at Sheraton Hotel and there could be large crowds from the meetings dining in the restaurant. The Kabobs are always prepared full of flavor and tender. Love the salads if you are up for a lighter lunch. The daily Persian specials are always great if you like the Mediterranean flavors. The best part of my experience each time is the hot bread baked in the clay oven!! The service is great and the staff is extremely diligent and friendly. I keep going back for business lunches, even though I like trying new restaurants on a personal level. For business it is a safe/great bet.

I came here with a friend for lunch with limited time, so we bypassed the long line and sat at the bar. We were greeted immediately; the service was friendly from start to finish. The place is pretty dapper and probably the most upscale place in proximity to my work. The problem is that the dishes here do not commensurate with the decor and lavishness of the place. Being a Mediterranean cuisine, I decided to order the Rolled Beef Kabob. It's "delicately" seasoned ground beef served with saffron basmati rice, a roasted Rome tomato and seasonal vegetables. The kabob was flavorless including the rice. This was unfortunate, as I expected some spice from a Mediterranean dish without having to season it myself. Once I peppered it, it was pretty decent. The service and decor was the winner here, but the most important part of any restaurant is their food, which was of quality but lacking in flavor. Since our waiter (bartender) picked up on our comment of being in a rush, she made sure we were taken care of expeditiously. Unfortunately, I will only return for its proximity and convenience.

This is one of the places for silicon-valley business lunch. It's always busy during lunch time, so I like the energy there, but you get stuck in a bad spot, it could be pretty noisy to hold a conversation. Menu pretty much remains the same so there aren't any surprises during lunch time. I would say food is OK, and service depends on which server you get.

Aw, why the low reviews? I had a very enjoyable experience at this restaurant. It is very nicely decorate inside - very upscale. I came here for a lunch meeting and it was the perfect place to have it. It wasn't too loud. I love that this place has a lot of bright windows too. Anyways, I ordered the chicken kabob and it was absolutely delicious. It came with some vegetables and yummy rice. I came here about a year ago and I still remember how good this place was. If you have this dining card, they have a promotion of a buy one get one free deal here. I don't know if they still have it, but you can always ask.

First and last time! Our company had our Xmas dinner at the Sunnyvale location today and a waiter named Javier or Xavier made our lunch sour! He made a very rude comment about one of my coworker grabbing an extra dessert! ( given by another coworker) Very unprofessional! Charged so much per person and can't even trained their waiters right!!! Sad!!!!

A friend is visiting us from Southern California. Since her last meeting was in Sunnyvale/Santa Clara. so I suggested dinner at one of my favorite restaurants: Faz in Sunnyvale. I have been coming here for more than 10 years ,I have never been disappointed... that is until tonight. Maybe i shouldn't have, but I decided to be adventurous and ordered the special of the day. KHORESHT (Braised beef and eggplant in Tomato sauce). First of all there is only one little piece of beef( size of a penny) in the dish and the sauce is so sour,I had to wash every spoonful down with ice water. And the acidity of the sauce ruined the taste of a good bottle of wine. The eggplant was just a piece of the leftover pickled eggplant for the appetizer dish thrown in as an afterthought. The meal was a complete disaster. I just got home to make myself a sandwich. As mentioned this was one of my favorite restaurants. But tonight I was a guinea pig of the chef and manager. I hope they taste the dish before they put it on as the special @54$#^&!!!!!!! Mr. Faz. This place needs your personal attention. Change the chef and manager if you have to. I have such fond memories of this place, i will come back and give it another try after I cool off. BTW, I did complain to our waiter and but based on the look of his face, I do not think he is going to do anything. So I decided to write this review. I hope Mr Faz will fix this problem before it is too late. From my perspective, Faz just went from 5 stars to 1 star.

********************* 1321 ********************** Mediterranean cuisine, hotel food, a business power lunch spot for the high-tech companies around the area, decent food, service can be hit or miss. The last two visits, I requested the hot sauce, the water, both time, the waitress forgotten. I had to get up and borrowed the tobasco sauce from the table next to us. They ae known forthe lamb, shrimp kabobs, as well as the salmon dish.

Catastrophe service, very slow and poor quality of food :( I went there with a coworker for a weekday lunch. We arrived at 12:15 where parking was full but we got hosted and served right away. We ordered Koobideh kebab and yogurt walnut side. After 45 min, while two other customers who arrived after us almost finished their food and one of them was waiting for check, our food was not arrived yet ! We complained about this delay and said if food does not arrive in less than 5 min we are about to leave. After 10 min, raw kebabs arrived ! Yes I mean it raw ! We called supervisor and he apologized and offered us another dish on house where we accepted since it was already 1:20 ! For those who know Kabab Koobideh, this is one if the most common and simplest Persian kebabs where they usually have it all the time and you could expect the fastest delivery time compare to other type of sophisticated kebabs. I don't recommend this place at all specially when you are pressed in time and have a special guest.

I was initially excited to visit Faz since it's right around the corner and had been Zagat rated. But after my visit, I doubt I will ever be back. The restaurant wasn't very busy that night; however, you wouldn't have known that from the service I received. I think I might have seen my waitress twice during the evening before asking for the check... which took exactly 43 minutes to arrive! And the food was blah... with not a very good selection. I ordered the pizza which appeared very appetizing with a large blend of different meats. However, after a few bites I reached the center of the pizza which was completely doughy and undercooked. My wife's chicken was also fairly bland. However, she did enjoy the vegetables... noting that they were well cooked and flavored "just right." This place is definately over-priced and over-decorated when taking the quality of the food and dining experience into consideration. The only time I would eat there again is if I were staying in the hotel and din't have a car to go anywhere else.

Gross. This place does NOT serve Persian food. Hell, it's not even Persian fusion...It's some basterdized version of Persian food. I can't even say that it's Americanized Persian food. Maybe I'm kind of biased since I have friends that are Persian, and homecooked Persian food owns restaurant Persian food any day. But wait a minute, no, that's not it either. This place is overpriced, with fake Persian food--it's not even good. At least they could redeem themselves a little if it tasted good. If you're looking for GOOD Persian food, I would recommend the place in Fremont off Mission Blvd. I think it's called Bijan, not sure--their food is pretty good. Faz on the other hand, serves dry, unexciting, rather boring and NOT tasty food.

I don't know why so many negative reviews. I consider myself a very picky eater when it comes to restaurants, and I love this place. I take clients here very often in the day time, as they have many seats. Even then, it gets very packed and can be hard finding a table. The kebabs here are among the best I've ever had, and most of the rolled ground beef plates are great also. I've tried many Mediterrnean places, and this ranks as one of my favorites. The calamari appetizer is good as well.Service can be a bit slow because the place is so big.

This is good place to celebrate a QUIET evening dinner. My first impression: VERY EMPTY. I hope the food is good....and it was. Very simple and elegant enviroment. I don't have any recommendations on the food (maybe that's why I can't remember anything special). I would come back here again and give it another shot.

I went here for dinner tonight. I got the chicken and beef kabobs, and my date had the hangar steak. The service was good, the food was good too. The kabobs were not too full of flavor but were pretty good. The steak was good and cooked nicely. This place doesnt look like a restaurant from the outside, but it nice on the inside. It is a little pricey but cmon this is the bay area.

I couldn't believe how bad my experience was at Faz both times I dined! The first time I went for lunch with my family, and they weren't serving half their Lunch menu for some reason. The food was really bland, completely the opposite of what I'd expect from a "mediterranian" restaurant. The only good thing was the free bread at the beginning of the meal. The second time I took a friend as a thank you for an airport pick up. My friend liked her salad, but she isn't the one writing this review, is she? My pizza was absolutely atrocious. It was so badly burned that I couldnt even taste sauce or cheese, just burnt bread, And on top of all that, it was more than ten dollars. Absolutely disgusting. What's more, the waiter refused to do anything about it. Avoid like the plague, to use a cliche.

Bland, boring food, with great atmosphere. The food is pretty bland - lots of tumeric in the beef dish I got, not much other spice in the three other dishes I tried. The atmosphere, however, is quite nice - it's an upscale hotel restaurant. Went there for a work function, will do my best to not return.

Hosted the saddest Mother's Day Brunch Buffet in the world! This place was so ill prepared that the only person that was smiling was me, and only because I found amusement in the suffering of everybody else from the staff to the attendees. They totally overbooked the place. My 15 person table boxed in an elderly couple. The split up the buffet into 4 different locations, but nobody explained that when we sat down. It only took me over 45mins of asking to get a glass of water. There were either no plates or dirty plates at every single buffet station. Most of the food was out or dry, or not cooked properly. The desserts were frozen, and not fully thawed. On and on and on.. it was bad. And my Mom didn't enjoy it, and it was Mother's day- that alone gives this place a horrible score. I don't know about regular eating here, but never again for Mother's Day Brunch.

Terrible! The pork chop (which they're supposed to be known for) was awful! We frequently go to Faz in Danville and went to this one thinking it would be the same... definitely NOT the case! Honestly, I can't believe they are even owned by the same person, which they are. The Danville Faz is amazing and we highly recommend, the Sunnyvale Faz... consider yourself warned! Don't bother!

When i got to the restaurant for lunch I felt like this place was going to be great. it had a great look, the bar was well stocked and the food looked great as i walked by the tables to my seat. The wait staff was very attentive and prompt. I was with a group of 10 and the food came out in a very reasonable amount of time. I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich and id have to say i was not impressed at all. The chicken was way over cooked and dry, the pesto was pretty much nonexistent. the only way i knew it was there was i saw the green. The other people in the group ordered various pastas and kabobs and they all looked quite good. Maybe it was just the sandwich. I'll give them another try for sure., but the chicken pesto was not a hit.

Very nice setting for a business lunch but the food was disappointing. Had not been here in years so decided to try the place out again. You may not think it's anything special connected to an old Sunnyvale Sheraton, but once you walk inside the restaurant, it's a whole different world. Tried the salmon and spinach salad - the salad and dressing was really good but the salmon was hard and dry as if it were laying on the grill for 3 hours. I went during peak lunch time when this place was packed and busy, so there's no excuse for old overcooked salmon. Also tried the great-sounding and great-looking triple cheesecake (three types of cheesecake layered into one) but it was dry like the Sahara desert. Bottom line: nice setting for a business lunch but set your food expectations low.

I've been going to Faz over the past decade. While it was at some point a good high-class atmosphere for a persian restaurant, where you would take out of town guests or go there for a special occasion, I can definitely say that this restaurant has taken a turn for the worse. I took my out of town guests there today for a late lunch and was very disappointed. The kabab and rice was better than average and somewhat consistent with my previous experience there. One of the highlights of the restaurant was its fresh baked breads, except they don't bake any bread during weekends, so we ended up having old bread. The service was very disappointing. My wife asked to get half salad and half rice instead of a full plate of rice for her kabab. The waiter turned down the request and said they can't do that. It's ridiculous. The desert quality was terrible. The baklava was really bad and didn't taste like Baklava. The Mud Pie was half melted when they brought it to the table. My wife and I were talking about the experience and decided to not go to Faz again. There are several other persian restaurants that have better quality food and service.

This is the place to go for a nice business lunch. I've taken several clients and co-workers here, and none have complained about the food. I did have a VERY happy VERY exuberant waiter last time, which was unusual, but the food was still wonderful so I let it slide. :) My FAV is the Free Range Roasted Chicken with Pomegranate, but the balsamic mixed green salad with grilled chicken is good as well. They have a great deck area in the summer, if you want to sit outside. One note of caution: They always try to seat you next to the drink station -- even when you have a reservation. You just have to point out that there are a million other tables open and tell them where you want to sit, or be doomed to having waiters wandering all around you the whole meal.

I like their rack of lamb! It is always made so perfect! The bread that they bring is fresh from the wood burning stove and they bring out a complimentary plate of herbs, cucumbers, tomatoes, walnuts, and cheese to eat with the bread. You may have to ask for it but it's on the house.

I don't know how in the world this place could get a 5 star rating. The restaurant looks upscale but then it all goes down hill from there. The presentation is pretty but the food is poor. They do give LOTS of rice as filler. . My daughter ordered clam chowder which tasted like canned and was served barely warm. The fried calamari was served with KETCHUP with some parsley in it! We asked for cocktail sauce and they insisted the ketchup was cocktail sauce. I asked for some horseradish and they said they didn't have any. (no horseradish to make cocktail sauce? Is that why they served it with ketchup?) My braised beef was tough. How do you get braised beef to be tough? My husband had the beef and lamb kabobs. The lamb was ok but the ground beef kabobs tasted like a sad meatloaf. Very disappointing. The entrees were not cheap either. Each entree was about $15 to $30. We spent about $40 per person with 1 drink. Service was ok. One thing that puts me in a bad mood is horrible food served at a high price. We will NEVER return here.

This is a very nice place. We happened to go when it was very quiet there. No crowd, fast service and we liked it. The food we ordered was good. It's a bit pricey but nice for once in awhile and special occasions. The place has a nice look, dinner party type feel. They have quite a bit of room too. We look forward to going again.

Faz's restuarant is a great place for any meal period. Monday through Friday, Faz offers great appetizers for patrons attending the bar. The kabob plates offer portions for 2-3 people. Basically, you leave feeling satisfied. Prices are high. Entrees range between $15-$30 dollars. Because portions are big, a couple of two requires oner appetizer, and one entree. More then enough. Lastly. the servers and staff are quite tenative to your needs. Enjoy.

Went here for Mother's Day brunch. We were seated right away but were promptly forgotten about. No one brought a rose for each of the moms at the table and we had to flag someone down for our drinks. The buffet selection was really standard and the flavors were nothing special. To make a disappointing meal even worse, I left my cell phone there and when I called them, no one turned it in. So I'm bummed on many levels!

Nice atmosphere, but food and service was bad. It was a little pricey and the portions was very small. We went after lunch and the place was nearly empty. The skinny host still seated us next to the doors where people kept coming in and out (very annoying). The appetizer looks like someone just threw a bunch of salami, olive, artichokes and eggplant together and priced it around $18. The food had no special distinct flavor at all. I got some braised beef that consisted of 4 tiny pieces, but it was tender. I do not recommend at all.

I've been to Faz now a couple times, but find the food a little boring and a tad overpriced. Nothing on the menu has blown my socks off. Service was fine and I think this is a pretty good place for a business lunch. I sat outside once and we were literally attacked by a squirrel. We kept trying to shoo him away, but the little bugger jumped on our table and stole food right off our plates. I don't appreciate a sack-of-pathogens with my meal.

I've been here a couple times for work. Atmosphere is good. Food is pricy but pretty good. Salmon, pasta, and sandwiches are good. I would not recommend the steak. The steak I received was cooked to my liking but the cut itself was very subpar.

I travel to No. California a lot and often stay at the Sheraton in Sunnyvale where this Restaurant is located. So, sometimes I end up eating dinner here ( not by choice). The room service for the hotel is also served from here. I don't even know what kind of Restaurant it is anymore. They have some Persian items, some Mediterranean stuff and then also serve steak and sandwiches. The food is below average and prices are crazy high. On my last visit earlier this week, I ordered the chicken platter which came with a chicken skewer and rice for $18.50. I get the same stuff Darya (So. Ca) for half the price and the quality is much better. This place is way overpriced and not a place I would recommend for Persian food.

First time there with lunch party of eight. The service was so-so, the waiter rude, the food average, and the bottled water outrageously priced. It certainly wasn't worth the $40/person we shelled out with the 20% mandatory tip. Dinner might be better, but I'd steer clear of lunch.

2.5 stars. The restaurant has a breakfast buffet that was pretty good. It was quiet and hosts a lot of people here for sporting events and conventions. This main review, though, is for their venue as a wedding location the time I was there. The challenge of having an outdoor wedding at this location is that while beautiful (and an option of a rain contingency), it is open to everyone and there were wedding crashers (no, it's not just in movies...). The coordinator was also pregnant, so she pretty much checked out and wasn't as helpful as she probably would have otherwise been. If I were the hotel/restaurant, I would have hired a replacement for her. The coordinator also forgot to set out the favors (which was a huge disappointment) and was pretty much incommunicado most of the time. The one thing she was diligent about was getting the bride and groom their champagne after the ceremony, but I packed the leftover food for them to eat myself. The hotel also lost some of the chair cover ribbons which was rented from an outside company, which was really unfortunate. Otherwise, they let you have a kid's food buffet, their staff is pretty efficient at setting up, and it's a great venue to have both your ceremony and reception in one place. They also have a lot of rooms to accommodate large parties and a nice deck for a cocktail hour.

I came here for my dad's going away party for work. They had reserved the outside deck and set up a buffet table of appetizers and had a private open bar set up. The decor was amazing. They set up persian rugs with accent pillows on benches. The service was also amazing and they were very attentive. It seemed as if we had someone stopping by our table every 5 minutes to clear off empty appetizer plates. The appetizers were surprisingly good for a buffet. The quiche was my favorite out of all the appetizers. I look forward to coming back for a real meal rather than a cocktail party.

Went here for an anniversary dinner with the novia and I wish I could totally give this place a better score because its beautiful but I cant bring myself to it. We were seated quickly and given this olive oil thing which we dipped our bread in. If this was all we had I would have been happy because this was the best part of the meal. I had the chicken kabob and she had some pomegranate chicken dish, both were below average but we still managed to eat half of our meal. I dont think we will be back since the best part of the dinner was me getting one of her rings stuck on my ring finger and spending 20 minutes trying to get it off.

Food was very bland. Absolutely no flavor. I didn't even think that was possible with mediterranean food. I had a mezze plate with a side greek salad. Salad tasted like lettuce with olive oil. Actually, less than that. It was just nothing. Pita bread was bland, bland, bland, nothing to it. Mezze was nothing special. Hummus had no flavor, baba ganoush and dolmas were ok. Olives were ok. It's a shame because it's close to my work, the environment inside is nice for a business lunch and I love mediterranean food, but not this one. I won't be back

We had our daughter's wedding reception at Faz Restaurant this past summer and it was the worst wedding planning experience ever! Promises not kept, contracts wrong, and we went through three Sales Managers (from Sept 2012 - June 2013)...very poor turnover rate! This was supposed to be a enjoyable experience and it's not enjoyable when continued stress was placed upon the bride & the bride's parent's. And beware...carefully think through your bar bill options BEFORE your event. We trusted the advice given to us (since THEY were experienced in wedding receptions) and we got dealt a big shock not even 3 hours into the reception. If you use them be prepared to micro-manage them through the entire process because things won't get done. You may also encounter problems with the language barrier...so be sure your points are getting across to the staff. The food was good but the customer service was horrible.

Good place for a business lunch since they seat you fast and service is good, but I can't say much for their food. I ordered the seabass lunch special and I had my doubts that it was actually sea bass. It wasn't the delicate, flaky sea bass that I've had in the past. It was pretty tough and had the texture of a well-done steak. I gave up on trying to slice it since I was having a hard time trying to slice and listen (business lunch) at the same time. This is a lot to say coming from someone who never leaves a bit of sea bass on her plate......ever.... I'd try it again since it's convenient, but will probably stick to the basics and try a salad next time.

Faz is one of those restaurants in Sunnyvale that has good service and nice decor/ambiance, but when it comes to the food, it falls short of impressing you. I came here for lunch on a weekday, and we had the hummus/cold meats platter, which was good, but nothing really stood out. I also had the grilled mahi mahi with grilled vegetables. The mahi mahi seemed like it wasn't marinated very well, nor was the fish that tender. Seemed almost rubber-like in texture, which is not how good fish should be prepared. There are many other places in Mountain View to go to for lunch, so if you have 5 extra minutes, drive over there to get something good to eat.

This place has such a pretty patio and gazebo and the food was super yummy. I came here for a company lunch and despite it being 90+ degrees outside everything was really nice (thank goodness for ice water and large parasols/umbrellas). The service and food and etc was terrific. It's also a great place for wedding banquets also (for those interested)! ;) I would definitely be back and it's right off 101/237. Awesome.

We rented out one of the banquet rooms for a company event. The service was pretty decent (3 stars), but things went way, WAY downhill from there. The food was poor to mediocre. This place wouldn't stay in business in SF for more than 1 week. I had the "seared" (more like charred) tuna with sesame crust with a pineapple "salsa" (more like syrupy glaze). It was first of all completely overcooked, and then coated with this sticky glaze that made it sickly sweet. My boss ordered the same thing and his didn't have a glaze at all and was just flavorless. I saw him pour salt all over his fish during dinner. Others had the roast chicken which actually looked decent and a rib-eye steak which was okay-looking... just HUGE portions. Dessert was tiramisu which was lackluster... I ate about 1/4 and just couldn't do it. I kept thinking about Stella Bakery's sacripantina cake (TO-DIE-FOR). It was the opposite of that. THE KICKER ... My colleague suddenly got up during dinner to go to the restroom. Whatever -- it's a long dinner, understandable. Only, later... we find out WHY this happened. She was eating her salad and noticed a COCKROACH crawling on her hand. She brushed it off and it landed on the ground and she was playing it cool since we were presenting in front of 10+ clients. THEN, she feels this persistent cockroach crawling up her leg. She CRUNCHED it against her leg, killing the bug and then had to go to the restroom to clean up. Need I say more?

A very business casual place for people to talk about their work life. There was actually a lot of people eating lunch there considering it was on a wednesday/rainy day/ and in a hotel. It is best to make reservations. Try the lamb shank, I think most people like it. The Dolmas from the platter isnt that great. I ordered about 3 items and total came out to be around $60. I would rather spend less and get the same or quality food at elephant bar or athena grill in santa clara.

First off, the complaints and one-star haters are totally wrong. This place is excellent for everything from dinner to weddings and wakes. It's in a bit of an industrial location at the Sheraton hotel so it's a great place for business convention events and lunches. The chefs come out regularly to check on your table and the servers are always polite. They bake their own lavash here and the kabobs are superior to anything I've had throughout the bay area. Yum!

I typically go to faz for a monthly breakfast meeting. I enjoy the grounds there and the food. The breakfast buffet is good. Today I had the smoked salmon platter. There were capers, tomatoes, onions, a cucumber salad in a dill cream sauce, fresh dill and a well toasted bagel. Me likee! The service there is always conscientious. I enjoy faz and look forward to returning.

Met up with some friends here so they could take advantage of their Passport limited offerings. The food here is actually quite good. While it's a Mediterranean restaurant, they have a lot of American offerings on the menu. It's really pricey and you probably pay more for the service and atmosphere than the food but all was good with our handy dandy Passport discount. Complimentary pita bread and this other focaccia-like bread was served warm with some fancy looking olive oil dip that had parmesan cheese, cucumbers, and various sprinkled herb bits on top. Mediterranean platter appetizers came with your regular fare of hummus, tabbouleh, baba ganoush (eggplant), a couple of dolmas, tomatoes, pepperoncinis. It was well presented a good variety of everything but I thought slightly overpriced ($15). As in most cases, other people's orders always look better than mine so I ended eating more than half of my bf's Jujeh kabob chicken. The menu described it raunchily as "young chicken thigh" meat and boy was it juicy and tender. Their saffron rice was quite tasty, too. Had I any less self restraint, I could've eaten bowls of that rice. My order came looking pretty unappetizing. It was one of the specials of the day. I can't fully remember the name but something along the lines of khoreshi-e-jejuni, a chicken dish with pomegranate flavors. A plate of rice and then a bowl of brown texturized sauce with chicken bits swimming in it. The least they could've done was to garnish it with something green or just something to detract the brown-ness of it all. It actually tasted pretty good, on the sweet side, although I didn't appreciate the chicken's dry and jerky-ness.

I have been to this place a few times for lunch on the weekends. There is always tables available and the staff is courteous. I've eaten there roasted chicken with mash potatoes. It was average nothing special. But there chicken koobideh which they call chicken rolls are awesome. They are juicy and full of flavor. There chicken kabobs are also really tasty, juicy and flavorful. Decent place. Will come back.

I hate the South Bay. However, I'm always willing to give any restaurant its shot at fame in my books. This place embodies the hate I hold for the South Bay. 1. The food is way overpriced for what you get. (Good thing my company paid) I ordered the lobster and scallop pasta which was sold out. I ended up having a salad and clam linguine. 2. Our servers couldn't even explain the different food items. I asked what "Crem Anglaise" was, and they responded by saying it's like sweet dessert. My eyes were glazed in disbelief at his response. 3. The service was sub-par. At two occasions someone in our party had to get up and look for the waiter-- when our order was taking over 40 minutes and when the desserts were taking over 25 minutes to come out. 4. The food was bad. The linguine was limp and the clams sad. The salad was decent-- nothing eye-popping. My friends' entrees-- the ravioli and the pizza-- were mediocre. If there is anything good to say, it's that the restaurant itself actually looks clean on the inside. And the inside decor a little kitschy for my tastes. But fine nonetheless. Altogether the food was what I associate with the South Bay: mediocre, kitschy, boring. (think suburbia) (no) love ezra

I have been there for both lunch and dinner along with office colleagues. The decor is good, so for official lunch or dinners, It does not feel like you have taken your customers or colleagues to a cheap place. The food is average and nothing great and deserves only 3 stars. The service is ok too (prob. 4 stars). The dinner is pretty expensive and not worth for a private meal.

Random restaurant attached to the Sheraton which was also in the middle of nowhere. The place was completely empty on a weekend night. The menu is a random hodgepodge of dishes from varying cultures. Completely overpriced for the quality of food (which was definitely subpar). Olive oil dip was accompanied by thin dry stale pita bread. I debated between two dishes -- the waiter actually dissuaded me from ordering what I thought would be the more unique dish of beef stewed with peas served with saffron rice. He brought me a small sample, which was dry overcooked beef in a flavorless sauce over dry rice. The "free sample" was a nice gesture, but that was the "highlight" of the meal. What I ended up ordering was the safe dish of lobster & scallop pasta with a tomato-based sauce. Mediocre plate, $30 for a bowl of pasta with 3 small scallops and a sliver of lobster meat. What a waste of $$$.

First visit here was for NYE 2010. Before I list the cons let me just say I had a greattt time. So...my group showed up around 10:30 and the line was SUPER long. I think this may have been their first major event because the bouncer was noobb. They took FOREVER to check iDs and let people in. According to a friend who was working there that night, she was the only person with a VIP list and so the guys at the door couldn't let a lot of people in for the first half hour we were in line. So what about the rest of us with tickets?! Everyone started crowding around the door instead of getting in a line so it took even longer. Also..bathroom was GROSS. Crowd was 99.9% Asian which isn't so bad until people start getting too drunk and start getting into fights and stumble around. Security was good though. Cracked down fast. So...past all that craziness...Drinks weren't too bad, pretty strong. My bartender was a noob too, but least it didn't take too long for drinks. The main room was HIPHOP etc and a separate room was for HOUSE. The main room music was honestly the best I've heard at any establishment thus far. Lights were pretty nice. Place was packed. Outdoor patio for smoking/ getting air, etc. Even through all the crazy shit the night was very fun and memorable. They just need to work out some kinks...like entrance and keeping a clean or at least decent bathroom stall. Wouldn't mind trying their food if I come back. Oh yeah...Balloon drop was weak. No champagne. I guess if it was fun despite all of that, then it's worth a visit, guys!

Ahh, Faz, how I love thee . . . Faz is a Persian restaurant that has been serving the Iranians of the South Bay since 1995. Actually, I remember going there as a 12-year-old when it first opened, and I haven't been able to get their rolled chicken kabob out of my head ever since. It's delicious, and does Persian restaurants everywhere a favor by serving as a great example . . . of what I want to eat when I go out.

Food - 4 Service - 3.5 Ambience - 4 According to our Assyrian friend, this is the best Persian restaurant in the Bay Area. The quality of the food is really consistent here and the service is also very good. The location may seem odd since it's part of a mid-range hotel, but the interior of the restaurant, the attentiveness of the staff and the quality of the food is far superior to its humble association.

Been coming here for years, ALWAYS a great experience!! The food is awesome, the service was unmatched, prices were fair. I would recommend the Rack of Lamb, or Steak Kabob, I always take a groups of people there, (partners and investors) for some dinner and business, needless to say everything works out perfect every time and my guests, always feel like V.I.P and that is priceless to me. Very classy place. When I want to impress friends or VIP clients, this is the place, not the elephant bar, or some rinky restaurant that cant handle groups of 15 people or more, they can seat them but the service goes down the tube after 6 people, been there done that, sorry cant afford to loose a business deal.

Decent place. I came here for a luncheon because one of my co-workers is leaving. The service was pretty good and the atmosphere was dim, but nice. The food wasn't mind blowing and I certainly wouldn't have paid the price for what we had. I had the wild shark fillet. It was overcooked and quite dry leaving me to wish they had put more of the chutney on the steak to drown out the blandness and dryness of the shark.

We have been going to Faz almost once a week for the past 2 years. We love to go and listen to the music they have, whether it be sax or piano while relaxing with a nice glass of wine. The food is excellent and the servers are very friendly. Happy hour is great, with finger food or 1/2 off bar menu items. The Calamari is wonderful. This is a great place

I planned a work lunch here for our group based on the recommendation of one of my co-workers. The ambiance was quite nice. Modern and a bit upscale feeling for a restaurant in the middle of the Valley. They made a few mistakes, but service was EXCELLENT and they made up for those mistakes nicely. The steak was good, the shark was overcooked and the kabobs were either overcooked or undercooked. I hear that, for a fee, they will also do a bug sweep. I didn't ask about that, but I thought that was pretty cool! Actually 3.5 stars, but I rounded up instead of down.

I first came here in Oct 2006 for my sister's wedding rehearsal dinner. I ordered the chicken kabob with a side of saffron rice. I tried the duck salad - extra tasty, too. I savored every single bite. On the day of the wedding, ALL everyone could talk about was the food from the night before! FYI--- About 2 years later, I ate at the Faz in San Francisco. The service sucked. We had to repeat our orders to the waiter atleast 2x each, and he still managed to screw up the orders. If I were rating that place, I would give it 1 star. We left and ate at Ongpin. For the Sunnyvale loc, I still give them 4 stars.

Very nice decor, clean and open feel but the food was just "ok." I ordered seafood spaghettini, the menu did state "shrimp" and yep, the dish had ONE shrimp with some overcooked fish, bits of calamari and clams. The tomatoe sauce was too dence, not fresh tasting. My friend had filet mignon kabob that was charred and dry, shame, shame, shame. I gave them 2 stars because their appetizer dish had some of the best dolmas I've ever tasted. Overall, their food's below average with above average price. To be fair I can't complain about their service.

Faz has a very special place in my heart as it is where my sister had her rehearsal dinner and brunch for her wedding years ago. Everything we had there before was really good and the ambience is nice. They have a smaller room for parties and a patio area. The dining area is nice with soft lighting and a view of the open kitchen. I don't go that regularly but when some folks are in town, we head over for the nostalgia of it all. Service is friendly and fast. They know the menu and can make recommendations. Water glasses are refilled without asking and plates removed promptly. Their menu offers Mediterranean fare. For dinner we had the Mediterranean Platter which has dolmas, hummus, tabouleh, babaganoush, tomatoes, pepperoncini and olives for $15. All of the items were yummy. The bread basket has pita and comes with an oil and pesto dipping sauce which is really good. I ordered the Seafood Spaghettini which had tomatoes, garlic, shallots in spicy marinara broth $18. I wasn't impressed. The sauce, though somewhat spicy still lacked a bit of flavor. The seafood wasn't that much with about 3 shrimp, 2 scallops and some pieces of fish. I wouldn't get it again or if I did, I might want the curry cream sauce instead. But you know what they say, the best combination is the one the chef puts on the menu so I didn't ask for a substitution since it was the 1st time getting this plate. I tried the Breast of Chicken kabob( $18) which came with basmati rice topped with a spoonful of saffron and roasted tomato. The chicken was dry and didn't have much flavor and there were only about 5-6 pieces. Also tried some of what they call Rolled Beef which is really koobideh ($18). It was just ok. I've had better kabob and koobideh for way less than $18. This seemed overpriced for the flavors and portion. But really, you go for the ambiance and the nice dining experience so I would go back. Maybe try something else from the menu and reminisce about my sisters wedding again.

The quality of the food, actually, is pretty good, e.g. the rack of lamb (not done in the Mediterranean though, it was roasted with red wine reduction), lobster pasta (more like an italian dish). I was expecting some real good Mediterranean food but my chicken kabob was just so-so. I had the chicken tights but it was still slightly too dried. but it's flavorful though. the greek salad wasn't that good - the dressing was too sour. throwing some feta and olives doesn't necessary make a good greek salad. so the problem i have this place is...it serves delicious food but that's not the cuisine that it focus. the dessert menu doesn't even have any Mediterranean dessert at all. other side notes: the service was very good. and the decor of the place is pleasant. the restaurant doesn't have much wow factors to me. but it's not a bad place to have a fancy sit-down dinner in sunnyvale, esp if you have a big group of party, you should consider this place since it's not too crowded during the weekends.

I've been here a few times for dinner. I can say it's one of the few hotel restaurants I visit. The restaurant interior is modern and classy. It almost feels like you're on a cruise ship eating. Most of the time, you can just walk in and get seated as it's usually not that busy. Last night, there was a pianist playing various jazz music, which added a more ritzy ambience and mood. Their bread basket comes with a foccacia like bread along with pita bread. The dipping sauce tastes like balsamic, olive oil, garlic, tomato, and cheese, but it's excellent! It makes you keep eating the bread. We tried their antipasto sampler, which came with prosciutto, mushrooms, artichokes, olives, pepperocinis, and tomotoes. Good size if you're eating with a group of people. For dinner, I usually have their Soltani, which is their grounded beef and lamb skewer. I end up ordering this every time I eat here. It comes with basmati rice, roasted tomato, grilled string beans and bell peppers. The skewers are pretty big. The rice here is also excellent. The service is pretty good as they offered to reheat the food when two people at our table had to step out and come back. They often checked on our table and brought us refills of water. This is a casual place so there is no need to dress up.

We went here last night for my friend's birthday dinner. Our waitress (Roxanne) was very nice. She kept coming by to check up on us and i do feel bad that she came around like 5 or 6 times before we even started ordering. She as very patience and always put up a grin. So thumbs up for the service. Food... I ordered the filet minion and i thought it as not as flavorful as some of the other restaurants that I've tried. We also had appetizers (calamari and ahi tuna) which are ok as well. Bottom line, I wouldn't recommend this place or come here again just because I know other restaurants that serve the same type of food better with the same price tag.

Had lunch here. Went with the potato leek soup and the baked salmon entree. Truth be told, I didn't want to like the place. I was mentally preparing to write one of those edgy, hip 'thumb the nose' Yelp reviews. It's in a weird old building attached to a weird old Sheraton. Just like the one in Pleasanton is attached to a Sheraton Four Points. But in spite of me already thinking of pithy negative comments for my yelp review, it was very good. The decor was nice, the bar attractive and the service was crisp. After a tasty lunch, I topped it off with a very nice cappuccino. Honestly, if you're in this part of Sunnyvale at lunch, it's a great option. It's not cheap ($10-$20 entrees) but I had the feeling that no one there was paying with their own money.

Atmosphere 4 star Food 2.5 -4 star depending on what you get. Price: 2.5 star (for some food, way pricey) Overall 3 star. You walk in to Sheraton and you'll find this restaurant on the ground floor so you won't miss it. I had a party here at outdoor table/patio seating area renting the whole area and it was nice. They got one drink hut outdoor so people can order drinks without going in to the restaurant. The view wasn't bad as it's facing a lawn/gazebo and it's pretty nice to have a party for 100 people or so. I only ordered a drink here and went inside to have dinner so I can yelp.(yes, I 'was' going to stay outside to mingle with people but grabbed about 8 people and had to try the food inside!..hahaha) I ordered Chicken Linguine and it was good. 4 star.(The price was Ok.) But....my friend who ordered fish did not enjoy his meal as the fish was dry and it only came with a little rice and that was it. He ended up eating the table bread(which was good) even after he finished his main dish. Same with my other friend who ordered the kabob. Two small kebob cam with rice and that was it and the taste was just ok. This restaurant would be nice to go to enjoy the atmosphere on some special occasion but the food might not be good depending on what you order. I didn't order anything special, just pasta so I lucked out. For the price you're paying, if you really want to enjoy the food, you can look elsewhere. If you like to play the piano, as my friend did, they will allow you to play : ) It also has a bar if you want to just drink. Nothing around this restaurant so the location might not be great unless you happen to be in this area after a trip from Great America or something : )

The ambiance was nice, but the food was not up to par. For the price of the meals, I would expect the meat to be top grade. The chicken and meat just tasted weird to me - like it wasn't real meat. One of my friends ordered the chicken sandwich and only ate half of it because it had no flavor. The restaurant and service was good but the food needs work.

Because this is embedded in a hotel, I don't think it sees much clientele that 1) is staying at said hotel, or 2) works in the area. It's classy enough that I think most of the crowd comes from 1) and then only some of 2) come here. Such was the case for me (2) because we brought a client here, so luckily I didn't have to pay. Food was decent enough, I just don't see myself seeking this place out due to the location and price. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with this place, it's just that there's better places out there.

Went here w/ a coworker. LOVED IT, LOVED IT, LOVED IT! We ate outside on the patio, weather was perfect. Food was really great. Service, nothing stellar, but not bad, either. Really enjoyed the trendy/mod look of the restaurant. Food choices were unique. Lots of vegetarian options. The downside: Kinda pricey for workday lunch. I mean the company paid, so I wasn't too worried, but this is *NOT* the place to take you and your family (with kids)! Just not practical. A great romantic restaurant (I would think), and more suited for "impress me" lunches, or dinner. I'm going back in a week. There were so many great sounding entrees, I've got to think up enough excuses to have the boss pay!

Faz is a pretty nice restaurant and is the perfect size for a wedding that isn't too grand. It was quiet and quaint when we dined here last night, and the service was pretty good. The reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is because I didn't think the food was that great. We had salmon, chicken, rice, green beans, and bread. Although food presentation was done very nicely, the food itself tasted too bland and dry for me. For a Mediterranean restaurant, I would've expected more zest.

The garden setting and rosemary bread (with oil & vinegar) were excellent. However, any restaurant that does not have the things that are printed on the menu is deficient. When the lamb was not available, I had a chicken sandwich. DRY

We visited this restaurant for a Tuesday night dinner based on a recommendation from a colleague. The ambiance was very nice and the service was superb. I ordered the Chenjeh and it was just alright. I've had better steak kabobs at more casual Persian restaurants. We also had a nice dinner salad and ice cream for dessert. The restaurant was very nice and they had a pianist performing in the background. I may consider returning because I am interested in trying the other dishes.

Hotel restaurant where some of the Silicon Valley power lunches happen. With a Mediterranean bent, you get a variety of Kabobs, pasta, sandwhiches, pizzas, and meats from their wood fired oven. I've had great and ok dishes here and can't seem to place why it's inconsistent. Service is formal and it's a bit pricey. But hey, you're eating at a hotel restaurant and it's most likely going to be on someone else's dime.

Faz has been around the bay area for forever. I've celebrated a birthday at the one in Danville. And I've been to the one in Pleasanton. Today, I found the one in Sunnyvale to be up to the standards of the others. Unfortunately, the restaurant is under construction so we were seated in like a banquet room. I was with folks from work and we laughed about feeling like were at a conference or hotel seminar, complete with drink carts. Two words left: chicken kabob. And three more words: it didn't miss. One more word er, sound: Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

I made a reservation a month in advance for a celebration for 16 people, on the patio. Why a month ahead? It was important to me to find a place that had a good patio that would fit all of us. I went, checked it out for lunch, realized it was just OK food but the patio was pretty and perfect for the occasion so I made the reservation, A MONTH AHEAD, specifically for the patio. Fast forward one month, and we are there to celebrate. As I walk in I notice that there is a huge party going on on the patio. I asked the manager if there was reason for me to be concerned, and he told me "oops", we have the policy of overriding any past reservations if someone buys out the patio, and someone bought it out so my reservation just magically vanished from the system. No one ever made a phone call, and the manager made it seem as though it wasn't the policy to inform me. He felt sorry, and offered us any arrangement inside, but to be honest is was extremely unacceptable. We ended up sitting inside since it was too last minute to make a reservation somewhere else for 16 people. They gave us free champagne to compensate, but it was a really ridiculous situation. Above all, the food was just OK. We were the only one's sitting inside (very empty on weekends, mostly a business lunch place it seems) yet the the service was still severely lacking. Many items that we ordered never arrived. Water wasn't filled often. There is no bartender on weekends (!?) so the drinks were limited and for some reason took a VERY long time. So: it was an extremely disappointing experience, especially with the amount of work I put into choosing the best place for the occasion. I would hope that they change their policy to inform those relying on the reservation system.

If there were a negative score I would give it to the management of the restaurant. NO Management whatsoever, our lunch took almost half an hour To come to the table..... Four burnt pieces of jooje kebab. Took half an hour for the bill after asking 5 times. We got late for the seminar. The Tea is $4.00 per cup & no refills & now I have an upset stomach !!!! Don't go.... If I was not attending the seminar I wouldn't have spent a dime there!

What dismal service! If I could give a negative star, I would. I made reservations through Open Table and got there on time. We probably didn't need to make the reservations though, it was pretty empty. There was a class going on in the hotel and large party sitting outside on the patio. The waiter took us to the table and seated us, THEN set up the table. He took out drink order - and when he brought those back, took our order. The we didn't see him for 40 full minutes! At one point I asked someone, but he worked for the hotel and really didn't have any idea what to tell me. At some point in that 40 minutes, the class in the hotel let out for a break. Our waiter was their coffee guy, so we were just out of luck until they went back to class. He finally brought the food, which was pretty good. But certainly not worth that lack of attention.

Quality is going bad. Visited the place after few years. Not too bad but this was a much better place. The food does not taste the same without the sauces/spice that now you have to ask for. Disappointed that good places have to cut such corners. Still not too bad. Hope they take such feedback seriously.

For my 300th review, I will comment on the only upscale restaurant in Moffett Park near my office. The ambiance is nice, the patio is large and opens out toward the lawn. Last time I wen, I ordered the greek salad which has a delicious dressing which seemed handmade and soft feta cheese and robust kalamata olives. The food is very good and the service is good. It is a bit pricey, but they are the only game in town and they are capitalists.

The service was okay, they could have done a better job at getting our orders correct, it was very loud so do not plan a business meal here unless you are booking a private room to accommodate your party, and lastly the food was not as good as I had hoped for. The Mud Pie dessert was good! Better luck to me next time.

I came here yesterday for a banquet; it was my cousin's daughter's baptism celebration and they had booked the outside patio. We got there a little early and got a drink at the bar and watched the Atletico vs. Real Madrid match. I observed the staff a bit and how they interacted and I could see why people would say the service was not good. Let's just say there wasn't a whole lot of teamwork going and a huge party at the bar was neglected for a while. With that said, the service out on the patio was actually good. The manager and the staff were very accommodating and they checked in with the party many times through the course of our buffet. And the food was quite good too. They standouts were the seafood pasta with lobsters and scallops - they didn't skimp on the seafood at all. And the prime rib was excellent too. They served generous slices and the chef cutting it was very kind and amiable. So overall I had a good time here and was impressed with the food. When I read the reviews before coming here I was expecting the worse but again, I had a good experience at La Faz, at least for the buffet.

Service is slooow and the food although overpriced is decent. Coming here on a Saturday evening I was surprised to see the place almost empty with the exception of 2 other tables yet despite this it took almost 5 minutes for the server leaning over the bar to put her phone away and come great us. Once seated the tables service was really slow too. As for the food, I've had better Persian food yet the complimentary dip accompanying the Bread was amazing! It was Olive Oil with chunks of Tomato and grated Cheese! ( yelp.com/biz_photos/faz-… ) Such an odd combination but it worked so well. We were given 2 lot's of Bread, the first was warm and soft but the second lot was not so great. It came out so hot that we had to wait a while for it to cool down just so that we could pick it up and by that time it had gone really hard and chewy, almost like it had been put in the microwave. ( yelp.com/biz_photos/faz-… ). For my entree I had the Lamb Soltani Kebab which also came with with Rolled Beef ( yelp.com/biz_photos/faz-… ) $24. The Beef was flavorful and juicy but the Lamb was the winner for me as it was so tender I didn't even need to cut it, it just came apart when I stuck my fork in it. Rice portion was ample and grilled Tomato cooked perfectly. My Husband had the same ( yelp.com/biz_photos/faz-… ) but had rolled Chicken instead of Beef. He did initially ask if it was possible to have Chicken skewer but was told it would be an extra $12 to substitute which is outrageous considering the entire Chicken Kebab meal was only $16 and would have made his meal alone $36.. crazy! $5 up charge would suffice. He did however enjoy his meal. I did also have a side of the Yogurt Cucumber dip ( yelp.com/biz_photos/faz-… ) because I can't have a Kebab without it. The portion was ample yet had a really weird aftertaste that I just can't describe. Decor is romantic with white linen table cloths and dim lighting. I was a little taken aback by some of the ornaments though. We were sat on a half both where behind me were these huge glass jars filled with what looked like old oil from the fryer ( yelp.com/biz_photos/faz-… ). The kitchen is all open plan and a large bar is located at the front of the restaurant as you first enter.

I have been to Faz many times. Took my wife to Faz last Sunday for month's day brunch; so disappointing!!! Horrible buffet menu with limited selection for $50 per person. 1/2 of menu was cheap breakfast stuff and the rest either empty food serving dishes or weird food options (mix salad with strawberry!!!). No kabobs, no good stuff, nothing like their normal selection. The servers kept arguing with each other in foreign language (Turkish?) or not available. Very cheap!!

What a pleasant surprise. Wonderful food and service. My husband and I stopped here after walking on the Bay Trail. Our car was 4 miles behind us and we figured we would just call a cab or Lyft from the hotel. We saw the restaurant and decided we were hungry enough to take a chance on a hotel restaurant. The food was delicious and our waitress Sandrine was terrific.

My friends and I went to Faz to celebrate Luna New Year. We ordered Antipasti Sampler $14 and wine . Antipasti was a big portion. Good value for your money. We ate 1/2 of the appetizer, but where was the wine? Our waiter informed our wine was coming and it was 30 min ago. Do they know salami, cheese, olive don't pair well with ice water? Where was the wine? Our lunch was served. * Two of us had Lamb Soltani - it was a Skewer of Lamb Kabob & skewer of Rolled Ground Beef $ 24. * The lamb was tender but bland, lack of taste, not a hint of grilled as it had steamed/cooked in a George Foreman. Basmati rice looked and tasted as it had been sitting in the container for several days. Our entries looked sad. Not worth $24 each plate. * One of my friends had fresh fish of the day, it was sturgeon. It was better than our Lamb and beef kabob. We started eating. We were amazed and annoyed because our wine still didn't show up on the table. Did they run to Costo to fetch our wine, I thought to myself. I couldn't hold any longer. I asked another waiter to locate our waiter. 15 min later, the waiter brought our wine !! For desert, we had mud pie and cappuccino. Again, we finished our cappuccino but mud pie didn't make it to the table in time. What a total disappointment both in food and services. I don't recommend it. For the money we spent, we get better food and services else where.

Went here with a couple of coworker for lunch. Since we had about 10 we made reservation. They have this amazing melon drink there, which is basically fresh squeezed honey dew. It is very refreshing and not overly sweet. A must try!!! Another coworker and I wanted to split the beet salad, so they kindly split in into two plates and delivered it to out table in a beautiful presentation. Then I had the jujeh, which is marinated chicken thighs. The chicken was a bit overcooked/dry and the veggies on the side were not the greatest. So this was a bit disappointed. Service was very nice! I would come back for the melon drink and the amazing pita bread!!!

It's not bad, but there are many other, better options in the bay area for the price point (at least for my lamb kabobs). e.g. lamb wasn't very tender, rice was not flavorful, and the rice was also somewhat dry

I came here for lunch the other day with my boss. Overall a completely mediocre experience. We were greeted by uninterested hostesses who gave us a wait time then didn't bother to take down our name. Then greeted by a rushed server who seemed stressed out by the lunch traffic. My boss ordered the cheese ravioli which he said was very good. I got the angel hair pasta and was a bit disappointed. It was average. And the noodles were a little on the dry side. I wish they had included a bit more sauce or made it a little juicier. Wish I could say more. But it was really just average. I probably won't be coming back again unless my boss takes me there again. And if so, I'm ordering something different this time.

I love this place. I come here for one item in particular, and Faz makes it oh so deliciously. That item would be their rolled chicken kabobs. The succulent kabobs with string beans, colored rice, and a roasted tomato is absolutely delicious! I also ask for pomegranate powder to sprinkle over my kabobs and rice, which makes the meal even better. These are the best rolled chicken kabobs I have had in the Bay Area, and no other place has beaten Faz for this item in particular. The olive oil/cheese dip that they provide as the on-the-house appetizer is really good. You can adjust the sourness by adding either more oil or more vinegar. I have also had their tiramisu, which is just as good. The atmosphere is very nice, and they usually have a live musician playing in the evenings. Because the restaurant is connected to the hotel, there are always customers filling up the restaurant. Also, the ambiance is perfect if you're looking for a romantic evening or trying to impress someone.

Went to the Mother's Day Bunch this Sunday. Experience with the restaurant was very poor. As soon as we sat down at our table, no service was provided. Specifically, no greetings from the waiter and no water, juice, coffee or complimentary champagne was offered. Had to wait long time after before I had to ask to be served, and had to try three requests before someone was willing to serve. Throughout the entire brunch, not a single waiter ever arrived to offer refills, take away our plates, or any other service you would expect from a quality restaurant to service their patrons. Food quality and variety was decent, nothing outstanding. Several food items ran out, such as the Eggs Benedict, so you had to wait awhile before it was replenished. Also, there was a long line for the omelet and prime rib; would have been better if they separated these into individual stations for quick service. Also, the prime rib was all medium to medium well, so it wasn't tender and juicy. Finally, towards the end, although we were still eating desserts, the waiter handed the bill. When we didn't offer to pay immediately the waiter repeatedly reminded us to pay. This was totally unacceptable since we weren't finished . I will not return to this restaurant.

Came here with a group of about 12 colleagues. I shared an assortment of seafood for appetizer that was very tasty. For dinner I had salmon. It was to be served with steamed veggies and on a potato cake. I asked them to leave off the potato and to substitute the steamed veggies with roasted vegetables. They did not get that right. They brought out the dinner with steamed veggies and potato - and then brought the roasted veggies as a side. Think that we were charged for them, and they were too big and not cooked enough. They were thrown on a grill long enough to get grill marks on them (not roasted). I had to flag them over twice for ordered drinks (they were OK at filling the table water). It is close to my office and parking is easy - so I would return - but the service did not impress.

I came here with my co-workers after looking at various buildings for our business...we were tired...we were hungry...hours spent talking with building managements, contractors, building owners, lawyers....lots and lots of details....reviewing contracts and drawings.... just too much. So we ended up here at Faz. I've been to Faz many times before. The food here has not changed much. A section of the restaurant the ambience was very business like and another section was more appealing for the personal touch of elegance. There is outside seating available....which is nice on a hot sunny day. So we ended up getting the room in the back of the. I had ordered the Kabobs. The Kabobs I ordered was a combo plate which came with a Rolled Chicken and a Rolled Beef (ground Beef). This was served with Saffron Basmati Rice, a roasted Roma Tomato and String Beans and Carrots. My Rolled Beef was good and juicy, yet a little bit oily but ok. The Rolled Chicken....for the most part I thought the chicken was a little over cooked because it was kind of dried. We had skipped the desert and just spent the time talking about the buildings we had seen. A little beer always helps in these kinds of conversation. 3 stars for the food. 4 stars for the ambience. 2.5 stars for the price...(a little expensive compared to other places with better food). Overall I think I'm gonna have to rate this place a 3. I'll be back only if I'm lazy to go elsewhere.

I've eaten here several times due to its location . Overall the food is good but not worth the price . Some of the meals (kebabs ) are a little bland , but the pasta dishes are great. Try to sit outside on the back deck if you can and it will be far more enjoyable than the often busy and loud inside.

Honestly this place seems hit and miss. The service was okay, but we couldn't sit outside because there was supposedly some huge party that didn't get there while we were even still there. So fail there. My seafood pasta was REALLY good but my girlfriends Cobb salad sucked so much that we left most of it. Honestly, we should have sent it back. Dry chicken, old veggies. Yuck. How do you mess up a freakin salad? Would be 3 stars but it was expensive for what we got as well so meh. Skip it.

Terrible food at DIner I had decent lunch at FAZ in the past so I decided to take an out-of-town guest to diner at FAZ. This is the first and will be the last Diner for me at FAZ. I ordered Sturgen fish for my guest and myself because I had this dish at lunch recently and it was nice. The diner Sturgen smelled rotten and looked dark as compared to white as it should be. I told the server that this fish smells bad and is not fresh at all. He told me the fish came in the morning and should be fresh. I don't want to argue with him in front of my out-of-town guest. The rice is also dark and not fresh as compared to white rice at lunch. Clearly it is left over and stir-fried. My wife had grilled avocado and shrimp salad. The shrimp was also twice-cooked and dark colored as compared to light color at lunch. When the bill came in, it showed higher price for the Sturgen than the menu. This was corrected after this issue was raised to the server. My recommendation is avoid FAZ at diner as the food are re-cooked leftover and not fresh at all.

A week before my brother's engagement party, I went to Faz to see what options they can give for our party of 25. It was the first time I was going there but I had heard good things about this place. When I got there Mr. Azad gave me a tour of the restaurant and went over the options and menus available for us. One day before the engagement, I called to see everything was based on our plans. Mr. Azad informed me that even though he personally won't be there, he will give special details to the management of the shift. Day of engagement, couldn't have been any better. Mr. Reza who seemed to be the manager there, really had everything well prepared. They provided us with a private area for our party and had setup tables just as we expected. The appetizers were on the tables ready as we arrived just like we discussed. The servers took our drink and food orders. Within minutes all the drinks arrived and shortly after the food was ready. ( All of our guests were impressed how fast the food was ready ) The food's portion and quality was amazing. It was very well prepared and seemed very natural for their servers to accommodate large parties. All of the plates for 25 of us arrived at the same time by 3 servers. After cutting the cake, even though we hadn't previously told them we need hot tea made, they were able to make and serve hot tea within minutes so our guests can enjoy their cake with tea. At the end of the night, we all got a complimentary plate of sweets for each table from Faz restaurant. Over all it was an amazing experience. It's great to have satisfied guests, specially on your engagement night. It was pleasing to see them organized and prepared for us. Special thanks to Faz Restaurant and staff ( Mr. Azad, Mr. Reza, Roxy, Rashad / Rashid (I am not sure if this is his name) ). We will defiantly do more business with them.

Not bad for business. I like the grilled chicken kabab, it was so tender. Sometimes service is slow but overall I am ok. Wine is ok, too. I like also bar area - I can sit down relax early evening.

I went here for lunch and it was a very nice casual restaurant. Before my order, they served bread and dipping sauce. I really enjoyed their balsamic/onion, etc dipping sauce. I ordered the chicken and beef skewers, it came with rice and vegetables. For lunch, the portion was pretty decent. Now down to the meats, ummmm I thought the texture was kind of odd for me. The chicken seemed to be blended with a different type of meat, it just didn't taste like chicken ..more on the pasty side. Same goes for the beef, it had the lamb texture. Overall, it wasn't too bad and I was super hungry.

Business lunch, thy name is Faz. Kebabs and bread...pretty nice but way expensive. There are much better places to get middle eastern food around but if you need something a bit fancier, this will do.

Had a wonderful Valentines dinner with my Baby! It was a pre fixe dinner. The place was nicely decorated with red roses and balloons. A pianist was playing beautiful classical music, American and Persian as well. Food was delicious. Azad, the GM was pleasant to speak with. My Baby had a nice conversation with him. There will be a special event being held at Faz for the Persian New Year in March. It should be fun.

I like having a nice resturaunt in the hotel. The environment was classy but relaxed. I will try again (& again & again based on frequency of travel). However, the chef needs to taste his food. Beet salad, completely bland, like he dressed it in oil and forgot the vinaigrette. Spaghetti vongole, overdose on pepper flakes, didn't resemble vongole (my favorite pasta dish) at all. Wine list needs a revamp, they could cash in if they carried higher quality wine given the clientele. I'll try again, the service was nice. But now you know what I WONT be ordering

Never order the salad! It was $12 for a Caesar salad but they gave me 6 pieces of thin lettuce and two cut up round slices of bread. It was NOT good and I felt completely ripped off! Worst salad ever! Less than a side salad portion.

This review is completely based on their breakfast buffet! Standard! That's pretty much what most people would rate it if they had the food. They do have a large selection of pastries and all the standard breakfast foods you would be looking for: cereal, milk, fruits, eggs, bacon, sausage, french toast. Very clean open space. Very inviting. Food taste is 3 stars. Not excellent, but certainly not bad. Staff is very friendly and it's right next door/connected to the Sheraton!

Faz has apparently been around forever, and seems to survive based on it's location and Silicon Valley people are used to going here for lunch. The food wasn't bad, but the service was so-so, and it took way too long to get in and out for lunch. -Mediterranean Platter - Hummus, Tabouleh, Roasted Eggplant Purée, Grape Leaf Dolmas, Imported Olives & Pepperoncini ($12): Ok. We asked for no tabouleh and extra hummus, but the roasted eggplant puree would have been the way to go. That was the best of the bunch, and it's better to just order that as a separate plate. -Grilled Avocado & Prawn Salad (Grilled Half Avocado Filled w/Chipotle Aioli, Grilled Prawns, Organic Baby Greens, Chili Lime Vinaigrette, $18): Really good! It was great they didn't skimp on the shrimp in this salad, and they were also a good size. A little overcooked though. However, the $18 is a bit on the high side. -Chicken Kabob (Boneless Breast of Chicken Marinated in Onion & Lemon Juice, Served w/Saffron Basmati Rice, Roasted Roma Tomato & Seasonal Vegetables, $16): Not very good. The chicken kabob was really overcooked and super dry. Barely edible- skip! -Roasted Pomegranate Chicken (1/2 Chicken w/Roasted Fingerling Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables, $19): Surprisingly really good! The chicken was cooked perfectly, and really moist. I loved the pomegranate sauce, but wished they gave you more. There was only a tiny pool of sauce on the plate. -Lamb Shank (off the Daily Specials menu, Served w/Rice and Vegetables): Pretty good, but the lamb shank was a little overcooked and on the dry side. -Swordfish Kabobs (off the Daily Specials menu, Served w/Rice and Roasted Roma Tomato): Also surprisingly delicious! The swordfish was cooked perfectly and still moist, and it had good flavor. Recommended! The food was uneven here, but it was the service that was the most concerning. There was no hostess at the stand when we arrived, and it took her a couple of minutes to return to the station. Once she was back, she had to double check that a table was ready, and it took another few minutes for us to be seated. She walked at a brisk pace to the back of the restaurant, and didn't bother to check if we were still following behind her (we actually got left behind, but luckily were able to still see where she went). Our server seemed overloaded/overwhelmed, even though we came for a late lunch (1pm). The lunch crowd was thinning out, but there were still a good number of people inside, and I think a lot of her tables were still dining. She took our order but dropped a customer's credit card on the floor, and since she disappeared for 10 minutes, we had to flag down another server to return the credit card. We also had to flag her down to grab our check at the end of the meal. Overall, I doubt I'll be back to Faz since the prices are high and most of the food is only average/not worth the price, and the service is way too slow/inefficient for lunch. The parking lot here is pretty big, so finding a spot shouldn't be too difficult.

Grilled Prawn and avocado salad is so good it's going to be my default lunch entree for this place. Rigatoni De Mare (prawns and scallop) and the Blackened Cod are also delicious! I really liked the thick flaky crust on the Chocolate Cheesecake. Pretty pricey place if you're looking for a casual lunch though. There's also quite a wait for the food, so don't expect a quick lunch here.

Wow. It's been like 10 years since I last came here ... and I did not remember this place being so bad. Granted, I had breakfast here... and for the price, it's decent. But for a hotel restaurant, I just expected more. FOOD: The buffet selection was limited. The scrambled eggs were over cooked and no omelet bar or other options. The bacon was under cooked, and most of the food looked like it was being circulated unless it ran out... so everything started to look old. The OJ was very pulpy and "fresh" fruit looked a little less fresh than one have liked. SERVICE: Big reason for the drop in star. Can we say, NO SERVICE? The wait staff don't smile or come to your table to ask if you need anything. I get that it's a buffet but there was only one other table occupied. I had to ask a couple of times to have my coffee refilled and when I asked for a couple of things for my kids, I got a huff from the waiter... sorry I bothered your bro! PLACE: It's located next to the Sunnyvale Sheraton. It's clean enough. The bathrooms were disgusting... had to walk to my room to take my kids pee. Just weird that a restaurant would allow their facilities to go so bad. PRICE: For each adult, a kid eats free... so worth it if you have children.

Faz was our dining choice for tonight. 6 of us ordered the Mediterranean platter, beet salad, pizza, pastas and kebabs. The food was good though on the smaller side for everything besides the pasta (the veg one tasted a bit weird...I think it had curry powder in it). The beet salad was 2 tiny pieces (read pieces not a bowl) of lettuce,5 chopped pieces of beet, one small goat cheese medallion and no dressing. For 10 bucks this was the saddest excuse for food I've ever eaten. Lettuce is probably one of the cheapest ingredients you can buy and even that was skimped on in the salad. Never get that! Roasted veggie pizza was tasty, med platter was again on the smallish salad and the kebabs were more rice and less veggies. I really did like the food and ambiance of the place but felt a bit let down by he quantities and the 20% gratuity! I thought it used to be 15-18% plus whatever you want to add but 20% was a bit high. The total bill with no drinks or dessert came out to about $135.

Food: bacon-wrapped diver scallops (NOT WHAT I ORDERED; SEE BELOW) on a bed of basmati and saffron with spinach. I removed the bacon, but the smokiness/saltiness of the bacon fat remained providing a good flavor accent. The three scallops provided a good portion and they had a nice texture (i.e., not rubbery). The rice included some sort of dried fruit that kinda tasted like craisins, but less tart. They were probably going for that savory/sweet thing which I ruined by not eating the bacon. The rice was not at all dry and crunchy as I'd seen in other reviews. Served with lavash and an olive oil dipping sauce made with cucumber and other assorted green things. Service: Caveat: Due to my schedule, I was there in that limbo time of 3:45 pm between the lunch rush and dinner service. My server told me that they were understaffed both in the kitchen and on the floor (she was the only server on the floor and was also tending bar). That being said, why should I have to suffer? My complaint is not so much that service was slow. It actually only took about half an hour for my entree to arrive. That's within the realm of reasonableness, especially for many things on their menu like kebabs and lamb that you don't want to rush. I think too many of the reviews don't factor that in. My complaint was with the quality of the service, not its speed. After it appeared that it might be a while, it would have been nice if the lavash had come out sooner so that I would have something to nosh on while waiting. It basically arrived minutes before the entree. And when the entree arrived....IT WAS NOT WHAT I'D ORDERED. I'd ordered a lobster and scallop pasta dish. Scallops and rice is kinda in the neighborhood, but still a fail. If I wanted to be surprised, I'd go for omakase. The offer to take it back and put in the correct order did nothing for me. What, I was supposed to wait another half hour? The other offer was for me to try it, and if I didn't like it I wouldn't be charged. Under the circumstances, I guess that's the only thing that made sense. Of course, if I hadn't liked it, it would be 4:15 in the afternoon and I still would have had nothing but a bag of peanuts from the plane in my belly. Not that I was in the mood for dessert, but it is customary when the restaurant screws things up to make that offer. No such offer was forthcoming. This is why the rating dipped from 3 stars to 2.

Came here during persian char shambe sooree. It is the last Wednesday of the persian new year. In either case, the restaurant looked great and is partnered up with Sheraton Hotels. We ordered the Masto Khiar (Cucumber and yogurt) as an appetizer which was okay. Pretty thick yogurt or it was in the fridge, however it was okay. Needs some garlic. The free bread is made at the restaurant and is pretty authentic. A home made concoction of olive oil, vinegar, cheese, onions, and tomatoes comes with it. I would recommend getting the persian platter which has feta cheese, onions, radishes, mint, parsley and walnuts to eat with your bread as well. We ordered one skewer of breast chicken and ground beef. I would recommend it with bread instead of rice to reduce the carbs, but that is just me. The bread soaks up the juices and becomes delicious. The price was 21 for each entree and 5 for the yogurt dish.

Great place to bring a client/spouse/date! Nice open kitchen atmosphere, spacious seating, and consistently good kebabs. I recommend going 'family style' and ordering several different kebabs to share with tablemates. The kebabs are served on warm, fresh baked flatbread. Grab a chunk and wrap up some tasty meats & saffron rice. My only complaint is minor: I noticed that the rice seems to have some dried out, crunchy chunks. I think they could do better at the quality of the saffron rice, but my guess is that they go through so much that it's hard to maintain quality on the side dish. Price is reasonable for the quality + quantity of food and the ambiance is inviting. The service isn't fast, but you can see the open kitchen, and those guys aren't just standing around. The wait staff was always keen on checking on refills or removing unused plates but didn't feel intrusive at all.

When we first arrived here, we noticed how nice the outside was and once we got in, I noticed how even nicer it was inside! This is a lovely place to grab some food. It's rather fancy, so a date would be nice here. Although, during lunch, it seems to be a lot of business people dressed up in suits. I suppose it is near a lot of companies so they stop by here for lunch or meetings. The parking lots get soooo packed at lunch hour! It was a little difficult to find a spot. But we found one in the side lot and went inside. We had reservations (thank goodness because it was completely packed!). My co-workers and I were seated immediately and looked over the menu, which had a variety of food! There were sandwiches, burgers, salads, and kebobs. I ended up ordering the Rolled Chicken and Beef Kebob Combo. The Rolled Beef Kebob was delicious! It was tender and it had a lot of flavor. The Rolled Chicken Kebob, in my opinion, was too dry and it was hard to chew. I wouldn't try that again...my co-worker also liked their Rolled Beef Kebobs and my co-worker who ordered the Chicken Kebob and said his chicken was also too try. The rice was okay, maybe a little bit too dry but not too bad. The veggies were good. Also, we didn't have any 18% gratuity, considering out group was well past 6 people, so that was nice! I wouldn't recommend the Rolled Chicken and Beef Kebob Combination ($14), I'd just go for the Beef Kebobs for a cheaper price ($11)! And if there are seats outdoors and it's a nice day, I suggest sitting out there. It looked rather nice. :)

I went here for a lunch with co-workers and had a good time. The restaurant is located next to the Sheraton hotel off of Mathilda. The décor was fancy and the restaurant had lots of people dining here. It looked like you could reserve rooms for parties or special occasions. I ordered the brick oven baked vegetarian (calzone style). It had grilled veggies, spinach, feta cheese, onions, and basil pesto, and came with fries. The calzone was filling with the veggies, but I felt like there wasn't much flavor. I couldn't taste the basil pesto. The table also received complimentary flatbread with a balsamic vinegar and olive oil dip. The flatbread wasn't warm, so it was chewy. Service was okay. We didn't get any refills on our drinks, so we had to flag people down.

I've been here about 5 or 6 times. It's great for the most part -- good food, good ambience, good service. The sturgeon kabob is really special. The value's not great, and it's never fun to go park at a hotel. But, the reason they lose a star from me is that the last visit, the piano music was turned up way too loud and our service was kind of poor.

This is really just a diner connected to the Sheraton Hotel. Unless you happen to be staying there and can't get food anywhere else, skip it. Really - skip it. We didn't realize this when we booked our reservations, but we figured it looked okay so we would give it a try. We were astonished by the way the hostess/managerial staff was treating us, and other tables. We saw a table with small children literally being screeched at by one of the hostesses, and another table that was squeezed into a ridiculously small table told that they shouldn't be complaining. There was one man working there who seemed very polite, but the rest of the women made up for that with their mistreatment of people. The food was truly marginal ... we had really expected something special, and it was not. The combination of "meh" food and crummy attitude makes this one a no-go. And on another note, note how many of their "glowing' reviews are people that have only rated this one establishment? Shady.

Came here with the wife and brother-in-law with his family for an early dinner. This restaurant is Mediterranean American so they have kabobs and various pasta and seafood dishes. The wine list is decent and they have a full bar which is nice if you want a martini with your kabob. The prices are standard for a white-linen establishment. Note: come hungry because salads and entrees are huge.

I must say that my first experience here wasn't the best but since I've been back its gotten better...The food is always amazing and the service has improved tremendously. I love the kabobs and basmati rice with sumak. The sumak is a must.

Good Morning! For my cousin's graduation, my family made 1:00pm Reservation for 12, on a Saturday. The server took 10 mintues to give us our menus, then we had to SHARE menus, because they ran out. There were only 5 or 6 different tables full, ours and one ther table had more than 10 people in our party. 30 mintues after we're seated, the server informs us, they ran out of Nan! He also informed us, that they ran our of Lamb, which 5 people in our party were ging to order! Our Appetizers (Hummus) come, and we couldn't eat it, the Nan wasn't at the table. It took our Lunch 50 mintues to arrive at our table. Then we ordered dessert. The server forgot about my tiramisu, but did bring my decaf coffee. As my family was finishing up their desserts, i JUST received my tiramisu! I needed another cup of Decaf, and the sever was nowhere to be find! I saw the decaf craft, and my teenager cousin refilled my decafe for me! This was my 1st impression of this resturant and it will be the LAST!

Came here for a business brunch meeting so the food is not really indicative of the overall restaurant since it was mostly breakfast foods (eggs, pancakes, bacon, sausage, hash browns, muffins, fruit, etc). I wish I could've tried the Persian food. The facilities themselves are ok. It's weird to see a picture of the toilet right below my review as I'm writing... o_O

The mens room smelled like a dead fish inside! You would lose your appetite guaranteed! Management...ever heard of an air freshening system? There's no excuse for a restroom that is maintained in that condition. The food is just mediocre and the staff wasn't anything special.

Stay away from this place! Not only do they treat you based on your appearance once you step into the restaurant, but they also ignore you and disregard you the entire time. After getting past the long wait to get in our order, I asked the waiter specifically to make my dish a particular way and he brings it out exactly the opposite and tells us that its better his way! Who does that! In addition, the food was luke warm. How does that happen when it comes straight off the grill? Probably because it was sitting out forever. Not that this is important or not, they went cheap on our side order! I looked over and noticed the table next to us had a larger portion of veggies than ours. I would NEVER go back. Not worth the price or time. I had the ground beef skewers with rice and veggies. I definitely had better else where!

really nice ambience and bar - food is terrible! I had a lamb kabob that I am pretty certain was made from lamb rectum however can't be certain. It was a week ago and my breath still smells of it. Pasta I had was a watery mess. This place is a shame!

This place looks great when you enter making you think wow this place is gonna be awesome. Not the case at all. The trio came here last night for dinner as a celebration for new years and the service with BASHAR was awful. He didn't even check up on us even one time. after we ordered our food, My sister had to wave down another waiter to bring our waiter, but they rudely said he'll come when he's done. We were like woah. Then I asked for a side of asparagus and he rudely said no, your food is already coming and we don't have asparagus. When my sisters plate came, she had a side of vegitables with ASPARAGUS! I was like wow, never coming here again. Then she waved down another waitress who was nice enough to take her food back to cook her meat well done since she is pregnant and exaggerated how important it was to make sure the meat was overcooked. We didn't make a big deal, and my friend said his food wasn't that great either since it was cold. We ordered beef kobideh which is supposed to come out fresh and hot and juicy like rose market on Castro. Its embarrassing. Never coming here again. Very rude service, mediocre food, and cold. They make it seem like it has some HYPE but really, its all show. Move on.... I will go back to Arya for they know how to cook food and present proper service.

This is a great spot for an event or just for lunch. The food is very tasty: I loved the Babajanoosh, hummus and the chicken kabob. It has a modern decor and open concept. They have a beautiful outdoor event area. My cousin had a lovely wedding ceremony here.

First visit for a dinner. Ordered two specials - chicken & artichoke pizza and baby iceberg salad. Salad was lacking dressing, pizza was bland at its best. For dessert we ordered chocolate pecan tart. It looked great, but tasted terrible. Pecan base was crumbling and falling apart, very dry and tasteless. Chocolate part had very little flavor too. Quality of food is sub par, one star goes for the prompt service and overall ambient. Will not return.

So I feel like this restaurant gets a bad rap. I actually came here last weekend for an engagement party. I believe that the cuisine, from the appetizers to the main course were all traditional Persian foods. Starting with what I think was Borani Bademjoon, which was a scary bright yellow color, but AMAZING. The hummus was wonderful as well. And there were several types of bread including crispy lavash and a yummy foccacia to spread these on. There was also an absolutely amazing spread of fresh fruit. For refreshment, there were several types of coffee, hot water, and also Persian tea. This was set next to a table set with traditional Persian desserts including little cookies, puff pastries, and some kind of ground pistachio thing. My favorite were these squishy cookies that had nuts and a citrusy flavor. Too bad I don't know what anything is called. Dinner was served buffet style. One of the dishes was a gigantic salmon that spanned the entire silver platter. The fish was a bit dry, but presentation was very impressive. As for the food itself, I really enjoyed the saffron rice, the rice with nuts and bits of fruit, the eggplant stewed with tomatoes, lentils and beef (Gheimeh Bademjoon?), and the koobideh especially. I was a bit sad that there were no roasted tomatoes though. :( I think that Faz does Persian food very well, but the American/Italian fare is not as good a value when taking the price into consideration. I think their ratings would be higher if they focused on the Persian specialties, which they make very well!

The restaurant ambiance was great and the food was very good -- however the service was, and I hesitate to say this, terrible. The server approached our table and said "You want anything other than water?" He interrupted me in the middle of ordering a glass of wine "WAIT, he might get a bottle." I knew he didn't want a bottle, because we discussed it. When he came back to take our order he said "Gentlemen..." and stared at me with a pen and paper. He never came to check on us, and when it was time to pay -- he simply dropped the check, came back to pick it up, and then dropped it back off (no words). I've never had worse service. I do not think this is indicative of the restaurant, but it was our experience. I did speak to a manager, so hopefully the situation was resolved. They have a great vehicle, but need to figure out how to drive it.

Recently went here on a Friday night with my family and another persian family we are close friends with. Upon entering the restaurant we were pleasantly surprised by the sound of a live Pianist playing Chopin like it was no big deal. My father is a big fan of Chopin and ended up conversing with the Pianist for what seemed like a while, hahha Dad! Now on to the food! I ordered the lamb rack while my brother got ground beef kabob and others got either chicken or filet. All the food tasted authentic and passed the Iranian taste test. Rice was also good and had colorful saffron coated over it. The server was prompt and repeatedly make sure our party was happy! Good job Faz, we have been coming here for a few years and definitely bringing more guests.

I am a former regular of this restaurant. I recently had a billing dispute and took it up with the Manager. He was extremely rude and dimissive, and refused to discuss the prospect of his Waiter making an error. I will no longer patronize this restaurant. Check your bill prior to payment.

I've had food off of their regular menu before which was ok, and more recently their catered food... which seemed much better. Their catering is a good option for Persian food, and they offer a full Persian catering menu from ghormeh sabzi to kabobs to mast-o-khiar even though I didn't see these specifically on their website. The price per person is better than some of the other Persian restaurants in the area. Service is good and the location is nice, though a bit out of the way...

Good for a hotel restaurant. Eat here at least 2 nights a week when traveling for work. Some nights are better then others, but it is not bad. It's prob a 3.5, but since I have been so many times, I'll go with 4. If you are not staying at the Sheraton, I would prob eat somewhere else. However, as far as hotel restaurants go, this is prettay prettay prettay good.

I just had a party of 100 at the Faz in Sunnyvale and everything turned out to be just FABULOUS . Foad was my catering captain and did a superior job. Faith is the manager there and looked over everything so carefully and paid a lot of attention to details. The food was OUTSTANDING and all my guests absolutely loved it. Service was wonderful with very friendly staff. The ballroom was set up beautifully and very functional. They set up a fruit table for me that was beautiful and cut everyone's eye as soon as they enter the ballroom. I can not thank Faith and Foad enough for going out of their ways to make everything look so perfect and making my big night a night to remember forever. Thank you again!

I like this spot! It's got an array of menu items but is known for the Mediterranean dishes (kabobs) - today's weather was just right for a good meal! This restaurant has option to sit outside or indoors and parking is for hotel Sheraton as well as for Faz the restaurant. Great salad options and has italian dishes (pastas/pizza) and is a very nicely decorated restaurant. It's awesome eats!

I think it is a bit inconsistant. No long ago I went and the food was great. Today, the food wasn't impressive at all. Not seasoned properly, fish too dry, steak burned outside (though medium). I also felt being rushed out I was in and out in about 40min during lunch time.

Faz is a really elegant restaurant with a romantic ambiance. It's a great place to have dinner with your sweetheart or a nice lunch with the girlfriends. They serve Persian and Italian dishes here. I really like their Jujeh, which is grilled chicken thigh meat kabobs. They serve it with delish grilled vegetables that include squash and zucchinis. What I really love is the Italian dishes. The Lasagna and Chicken Cacciatore dishes are scrumptious. I'm a pasta girl at heart.

I have come here a number of times. First off, coming from a girl with a Persian family who has had at least one intimate wedding reception, and two engagement parties here. I think it is safe for me to say this place is simply alright. The atmosphere is nice, and the back outdoor area is beautiful. The service was good, and very accommodating. The open drink bar on the back patio was decent. However, the real deal.... is the food. For some reason, my family insists that this place has delicious Persian food. But I have experienced MUCH better restaurants than this. The best thing I had was the lamb chops that a waiter was serving in the back patio, during the hor dourves session before actually sitting down to eat. (Yes, I come from a culture and family that appreciates food and loves to eat.) When it came time to sit and eat. I walked around the large buffet tables and was disappointed to find the rice way overcooked and the meat dry. I was disappointed, and wished I had eaten more of the delicious lamb chops that were served much earlier in the party. Other than the food, the atmosphere is great and the service is fantastic. But the food? Not worth the price. I can find better Persian food else where.

We stayed in the Sheraton for 2 nights, so having a decent restaurant in the hotel was very convenient. Homemade linguini with scallops & shrimp in creamy tomato sauce was el dente & the chicken kabob on safron rice was superb. We just couldn't find our waitress most of the time and she kept forgetting what we asked her for, such as lemon wedges & to go box. Breakfast was not as impressive. Loved the olive oil & vinegar with cucumber chunks & coconut shreds that comes with bread.

My husband made a reservation at Faz for our first Valentine's Day when we were dating. When we showed up for our reservation, they told us there was an HOUR wait. I know it's one of the busiest holidays for restaurants, but seriously...an hour wait when you have a reservation! We got out of there and drove around for a long time trying to find a restaurant with a shorter wait. What a horrible evening. We finally got a table at Fontana's in Cupertino -- at that point, I'd eat anywhere. A few weeks passed and my husband was contacted by the restaurant with an apology and make-good gift certificate. So we decided to give them another shot -- the food and service was okay. We weren't impressed enough to return, though. About three year ago, family hosted a large bridal shower for me here. They have a beautiful room in the back for groups -- no doubt, the restaurant itself is nice inside. The food was just okay, though. I don't think you get what you pay for.

I brought my wife and kids here to celebrate Mother's Day. Other reviews were hit or miss so I decided to take a chance. A menu for Mother's Day brunch was provided on the website so I knew what type of food to expect. Whether or not it tasted good was to be determined. The deco is modern and inviting. The host greeted us and offered my wife a flower in honor of the day (nice touch). We had the option to sit on the patio and I'm glad we did as it was a nice day to sit outside. The brunch buffet was great ranging from the traditional bacon and sausage and french toast to ceasar salad (w/ anchovies on the side), shrimp cocktail, prime rib, flat bread pizzas, and my favorite that day, beef kabobs. Over all, the food was great. My belly was fully full and satisfied. The atmosphere was very nice. The service was so, so but not bad. It was crowded so I didn't expect five star service but it was expected for a Mother's Day brunch. So would I come here again? Absolutely!

I think this place is very prepared to handle people on a lunch hour. We were in and out in almost exactly an hour. I didn't feel rushed--not at all, they are just fast and efficient. I ordered the "Rolled Chicken & Rolled Beef Kabob Combo Skewer of Each". The "rolled" and "kabob" distracted me from the fact that the meat is (as stated clearly on the menu) ground. So I don't understand the "rolled" part of the name, nor the "kabob" part. It is basically ground meat pressed into a long riblet-type of form. The chicken was yellow and the beef was brownish. The chicken had a nice flavor, the beef was ok. Both meats were very greasy/oily. So were the veggies, which had no flavor. The veggies were baby bok choy and red peppers. The rice was flavorless, but at least it wasn't oily. The pita bread was very soft and yummy, but it was cold. It would be nice -- to me -- if it were warm. But part of the efficiency comes from the various plates of pita bread they have set about at the ready. Which means it is going to be served cold. Our glasses were never empty and several of the wait staff checked in on our needs. It was very pleasant. I am not a fan of greasy meat. I don't even like my burgers greasy. So, I probably won't go back. As I have said in other reviews there are just WAY TOO many outstanding places in our area to eat. I don't need to spend time and money on "Meh" food. (Food = Meh / 2 stars . . . . . Service = Yay! I'm a fan / 4 stars . . . . .totaled to 3 stars, it's ok.)

2.5 stars I've been here twice, once with coworkers and once with friends. Restaurant is big, nice, clean but food is overpriced for the quality that you get, maybe that's why it's never crowded when I go (but then again I've only been here twice). These are the dishes I tasted and they were all mediocre *Linguine Clams: Fresh Spinach, Tomatoes, Garlic, Shallots in a White Wine, Fennel Herb Broth $18 *Seafood Spaghetti: Sautéed Clams, Calamari, Shrimp & Fresh Fish, Roma tomatoes, Garlic, Shallots in Spicy Marinara Broth $18 *Kabobs are served with Saffron Basmati Rice, Roasted Roma Tomato & Seasonal Vegetables...I think I tried the beef Kabob The descriptions make it sound so good but the taste is a disappointment, I wouldn't recommend this place.

On 8/10/12 I made a reservation for 2 through Open Table's website for 6:30 pm on 8/11/12. On 8/11/12 at 3:10 pm I received a call from Faz saying that they can't accommodate me because there is a private event, therefore I needed to find a new restaurant and let my date know that there is a change of plans. Why I was able to make a reservation a day before if they have a private event and why they only called 3 hours 20 minutes before my reservation time??

This place is pretty damn good. Mango Ice Tea- delish Chicken Kabob Salad- amazing Barg Dish- so GOOD & the bread- warm & fresh I love the interior and the outdoor seating. This is a great place to come for lunch or happy hour. I would recommend making reservations as every time I've come in during lunch it has been pretty damn packed. The servings are good portions for lunch, I usually feel like Persian Restaurants give huge portions, but the amount of food was good. The menu has a decent variety of non-persian dishes as well, like pastas. The service was alright...not amazing and not bad. I guess the only annoying thing was that they brought out the bread with the entree but we weren't expecting bread anyways and it was so good I'm just happy that they brought it out in the first place! :)

went there for lunch today - still 2.5 stars pita bread was warmer today. i think you just have to reach for it as soon as they put the plate down. ordered the crab cakes to share. the crab cakes were plated on a small salad and a few slices of tomato and mango. i was tempted to get the rolled ground beef, but got the grilled salmon with lemon avocado sauce off the special menu instead. the salmon was a bit oily. it was cooked medium well. i wish i asked for the sauce on the side though. i couldn't taste the avocado... it's green but that's about it. seasoned vegetable was green beans again. the table we got was right by the door to the back where tables were set up outside. a strong breeze of cold wind attacked EVERY TIME the door was opened. not good. Martin was our waiter. i think he was our waiter for the last few times i have been there. he's always nice / give us good service.

I go to Faz once a month for dinner with business colleagues. I have been doing this for 3 years. The food is consistently excellent. I love the Persian dishes such as kabob and the Persian stews. I like the garden area and we even held a party there. This is the great place.

When I think upscale restaurants with good food in Sunnyvale there are only 2 or 3. I just discovered a new one that has all that and is not too expensive either. Had a totally awesome b'day party!! The interior are so beautiful, and upscale and they have different private rooms that we had no problems fitting our 50 guests and kids. For the lunch buffet we ordered the Chicken Sultani kabobs, Grilled veggies, saffron rice, bread, salad and Ravioli. Kabob were really tasty and everyone just completely demolished the food !! For the vegetarians the Ravioli was very nice. It was a simple filling of ricotta cheese, with fresh cut tomatoes and basil in a tomato sauce. It was hearty and delicious. The ravioli's were large, and people ate it up!! The outdoor patio was amazing, a lot of our friends & their kids spilt over there and that is where we had a nice bird show. The wait staff from the morning shift was not that attentive so I had to go call them a few times but the shift changed at cake cutting time and they were really nice with bringing out the cake and serving it to our guests. Would highly recommend this as a nice upscale place to have a party or to go eat Persian and Mediterranean food in Sunnyvale!!

Hadn't been to this place in 15 years and went the other day for lunch. This is the only 'nice' restaurant in this part of Sunnyvale, though my experiences there in the 90s didn't leave me wanting to go back. I was pleasantly surprised by the updated interior and had the pleasure of sitting in a smaller room with floor to ceiling windows - gorgeous!! Started with fresh pita bread and their dipping sauces. Whatever the non-vinegar sauce was, I want the recipe. Tried to get it out of the waiter but he said it was 'top secret'. Hmph. If anyone figures this out let me know - definitely olive oil, cucumber, garlic and fresh herbs - parsley? mint? Maybe a little parmesean? Couldn't really tell but YUUUUUMMMMM-Y. Menu has tons of choices - definitely something for everyone. We had a large group for a birthday party so we started with their Mediterranean platter and their antipasti sampler and both were spectacular. The prosciutto, pepperocini & olives tasted like they were straight from Tuscany. I had their Barg Kebab for lunch - the meat was okay, the rice was okay (adding currants would have made it spectacular) and the veggies were sparse. I was definitely disappointed. The service was okay. Our waiter was a little 'colorful'. I'll leave it at that. I'd go back as long as I'm not footing the bill :).

Ultimate when it comes to drinks at the bar or food served at the table. If you are at the bar, enjoy the attention of the bartender, who makes all the drinks to sheer perfection. I have tried all his creations and would vouch for all his superb creations. There is no Happy Hour for drinks here but enjoy the Happy Hour for food, I love the bread/naan and the kebabs but for me it's all about Fernando's Long Ice Tea here... Trust me the best Long Island Ice Tea EVER!! No Hang overs... No Cheap alcohol... I have no clue how he makes em, even though I watch him every single time.... so darn good... Fernando.. YOU ROCK!!

What a disappointment! We went to the Sunnyvale location, it is not noted on the restaurants website itself or on Open Table, that this restaurant is attached to the Sheraton Hotel. In very few occasions has a hotel restaurant been a satisfying dining experience. First impressions are important. We were greeted by a boisterous wedding reception, the banquet room that was hosting the wedding reception spills into the restaurants lobby and there was no host/hostess manning the front desk. After several minutes, a gentleman asked if we had been helped and then promptly seated us. The restaurant was empty. There were only two other tables seated, per the website Faz seats 120. The wedding reception in progress utilized the restaurants bar, so there was a good portion of our meal that was filled with the wedding guests drunk and revelry of a good time. What originally brought us here was the beet salad we saw on the restaurants website link via Open Table. On the menu we were handed, the beet salad was mysteriously missing. We inquired with our server, who told us the beet salad was a daily special and was not available, however he said he would inquire with the chef and the manager to see if it could be made. The manager told us beets were seasonal and the menu changes, The chef did offer to make us the salad except they didn't have the beets. Upon seating we were given flat bread similar to naan, along with a dipping sauce that was a mixture of olive oil, balsamic vinegar, cucumber and mint. The taste was very similar to your usual oil & vinegar mixture but I was left with the distinct taste similar to raita. This was a very promising start. We opted to start with that evening's special which was a Pear Salad with roasted walnuts and a pomegranate vinaigrette dressing. The walnuts were not roasted and the dressing bland, I expected more flavor or at least a sweetness since it was supposed to be a Pomegranate vinaigrette. For our entrees, I chose the Fettuccine Marco Polo, which was described as having prawns, spinach and tomatoes in a light curry cream sauce. My husband had another one of the evening specials Khoresht, which was a braised beef with kidneys beans over a saffron basmati rice. Presentation of my meal was acceptable. The other was however was less than desirable in my opinion. His braised beef and kidney beans were coated in a green mush were served in one bowl and a plate of rice was also provided. For my dish, it had great potential, but somehow feel short of taste bud happiness. I expected with the strong scent of curry, that the cream sauce would have had more flavor, the tomatoes used were no different than what you'd find in a run of the mill salad bar, cherry tomatoes would have been more flavorful or at least bite size. I had a total of 4 shrimp in a very large bowl of pasta. In the end I would have appreciated a smaller portion of pasta to shrimp ratio with a bit more flavor The braised beef did have good flavor, a bit heavy with the lemon and the saffron basmati rice had no flavor, so it was a hit and miss, overall acceptable barely. We did not stay for dessert, coffee or after dinner drinks.

Food was ok at best. None of the dishes were special in any way. Most problematic was the service: the waiters kept interrupting conversations, didn't remember preferences (ice, no ice), even poured water into a beer glass, forgot to bring additional silver ware when asked - overall just didn't care or try.

We don't get a lot of choices out here in Y! and Juniper land. Faz is where we gather for dinners with our director when she's in town from NYC. Their pita bread and olive oil/balsamic dipping sauce is to DIE for. I think I can have that as a meal and leave happy. The fish and sandwiches are not bad. I've had amazing Salmon and Halibut here. I think people are let down because they come here for dinner expecting phenomenal authentic dishes. While Faz deserves credit for attempting to do this, you need to keep in mind that the majority of people coming to this restaurant are not from here. (probably staying at the Sheraton) As with most Ethnic restaurants, it won't be as authentic as the hole in the wall in the shady neighborhood. Bring your clients here. Take advantage of expense acct business lunches and dress to impress. Happy hour on the patio is beautiful in the summer and they have a nice spread for you to enjoy. Minus ONE star for the hostess that decided to put in her two cents about the restaurant. Sorry skinny hostess, the customer should always be right. Didn't they teach you this at hostess university? Tsk, tsk!

I work around the corner and come here often for lunch. I used to get the combo chicken and beef kebab all the time but burned out on it. Now I'm onto their salads. Their steak salad has baby arugula with a light, lemony dressing and filet mignon. I have to say its one of the best steak salads I've ever eaten. I also love how they constantly refill your beverage. Cloth napkins makes it feel fancy for lunchtime and the fresh pitas they bring out are great too. Oh, their caesar salad comes with real anchovies on top which I hadn't seen in a long time. If you're going for lunch, make reservations - they are packed during lunch.

The food is great here! The kebabs are awesome, the rice is delicious, and they definitely have traditional flavors down. This place is a great place to have a lunch or business meeting- unique, but classy at the same time! AND authentic. Nomnomnom. 4 stars because... well... the prices are a bit high. But hell, you payin' for the class, eh? High maintenance, high output! :D (that's what she said)

My first experience at Faz left and impression and I never forgot. About 5 years ago I needed a place to host a team dinner meeting. I remembered FAZ. We used the banquet room and decided on the dinner buffet. The food was excellent the staff was excellent and everyone loved it. I have lunch at Faz every so often and this year I needed a large enough place to host another team event (different team). I decided to go with Faz yet again because I was pressed for time and they never fail me. I spoke to them and they were able to accommodate me on such a short notice. I got so many compliments from my team. They were really impressed with the food, the atmosphere and how they were treated. I did the buffet style with, roasted veggies, mashed potatoes, chicken and mushrooms, ravioli's and NY steak. Who would of thought that a buffet with such good food could actually taste so good. When you think of buffet style you don't think fresh! Everything was fresh and hot! My team members we're surprised at how good the steak was. The food was just delectable! I got the most feedback on the Ravioli's and the steak. I definitely recommend this place for large team events and/or groups, parties etc. Personally I like that this place is hidden. Think of it as a hidden gem. Most folks who come here or know about it work or have worked in the area. This place is great for a romantic evening. Boys, take your wife, she will love it and so will you. Thus far I have tasted and I recommend: Salmon- Best Salmon I have tasted, I love the salsa fresca on top, it compliments the salmon well. Steak- They have excellent steak and always cook it exactly how you order. Their mashed potatoes are always so creamy and yummy, the green beans with bell peppers are so delicious, you must try them! I also love the nan that they serve with the oil and vinegar, that is appetizing. I'm not suppose to eat breads but I cannot help myself! I give them 5 stars for excellent service, food, cleanliness, atmosphere and wait time. It can be pricey but it's worth your money. I have not found one negative thing to say about this place so I do believe it deserves the 5 stars I am rating it.

Five of us have a monthly lunch. We have been in existence as Wackos Anayomous since Sept, 2011 when we dined at Original Joes in San Jose...never again...some of us have been going there since the mid 60's on a regular basis...it has gone way down hill. Anyway, Faz is a really nice place for lunch. Food and service were great...nice round tables make it very nice for conversation. Only one minor complaint-took a little effort to get coffee refills. We don't go to the same restaurant twice in the same calendar year...we will go here again in 2014.

My coworkers and I went to Faz for a b-day lunch. We've been here before but the service that we received from Aimee was outstanding! One of the gals who is a vegetarian ordered a soup but the broth was made with chicken stock so Aimee substituted for a veggie platter on the house. We were celebrating a b-day so she also brought the b-day a dessert on the house. We asked her about the jars that were displayed all around the restaurant. She explained that they were garlic fermented in balsamic vinegar used as spread for the pita bread. She brought us some to taste. She made sure our beverages and pitas were well-replenished. She was one of the BEST servers we've ever had and made our dining experience very memorable. She was not only nice and accommodating but also very pretty. Thank you Aimee! You really made our day and we will definitely return to see you.

I love FAZ. It's a great place for happy hour. I work nearby and this place is also great for meeting clients, interviewing candidates over lunch, team events, etc. The happy hour is awesome because it's a nice upscale environment with a guy playing the piano. My favorite part however, is the free chips/salsa, cheese plate, fruits and veggies w/ dip. I can pretty much come here and have my dinner. They also have this AMAZING flatbread with dipping sauce - olive oil, balsamic vinegraitte and herbs and spices. It's really good. I would love to find out how to make it. I've had some of their dinner items such as the Chicken Kabob Salad and some seafood dishes. It's in the Sheraton hotel, and the grounds surrounding it are really pretty, great view of the gardens. You can also have a business dinner/meeting or event here and book the private room in the back.

Taste: 4.5 Value:4 Cleanliness: 4 Atmosphere: 3 Wait time:3 Overall:3 1 being the worst, and 5 being the best let me put it this way, Food is great, place is great, the guy playing the piano in the back, is great, this is a good place for that reasons, how ever the service SUCKED BAD. This place isn't exactly cheap, I took my clients here as a celebrating. With these pries I expect them to notice when I am out of water or bread. Which she never did, Also my steak kabob wasn't as rare as I wanted it, she never asked if it was okay when I first cut it, also my friends wasn't cooked enough. She seemed as if she didn't want to be there/ wasnt happy with her life. If they fired some of the bad waitresses id defintally bump up my review to a 4/4.5 ish.

Went here for our anniversary when we could not get a reservation at another restaurant. Glad we did. It was exceptional in every way. ..food, atmosphere, view, service, ease of parking and noise level. Why do people put down restaurants attached to hotels? In this case it is attached to the Sheraton. This means that you get the benefit of easy parking and a beautiful view of the grounds from the floor to ceiling windows and doors. The decor is lovely, and the service was terrific. I wanted a seafood pasta, but the seafood penne with shrimp and scallops came with a Marinara sauces. The seafood linguine with clams came with a white wine sauce. When Roxanne, our server, saw me deliberating between the two, she suggested they switch the sauces for me - so I got the penne with the white wine sauce. It was delicious. We split a huge Greek salad and had a lovely wine, Faz Chardonnay. Finally, one of my prime judging points for a restaurant is noise level, and Faz was great on this. My husband and I could have a real conversation without shouting. It felt very warm and intimate. Finally it was moderately priced. I highly recommend.

Faz is your typical Silicon Valley lunch restaurant where exec's will conduct business lunches and so forth. I've dined here on several occasions, and typically Faz has slow service, with overpriced entrees. Today was like no other occasion, we ordered a starter and the service was so slow, our waitress came back 30 minutes later with our check. We calmly explained that our lunch entree had not even arrived and your giving us the bill! She was a little embarrassed and returned 10 minutes later with our food. The Chicken Jejuh was dry, and my colleagues ravioli was bland. He added a ton of red pepper flakes for flavor. This place is hit or miss in my opinion, but it's never the first place I would recommend for a business lunch.

Kind of hard to rate Faz because their dishes were all over the board. Their Mediterranean appetizer was pretty good, as was their chicken noodle soup of the day, so I'd give both of those a 4. For the main course I got a combination of the chicken jujeh, beef and lamb kabobs (hey, it was on the company). The jujeh and beef kabobs weren't bad, being flavorful (jujeh was slightly salty) and juicy, so a 3.75. But the lamb kabob was terrible - bland, dry, and had that poorly done lamb taste. I was also disappointed with the grilled tomato that comes with these sorts of dishes, as it's usually one of the things I look forward to most. Theirs wasn't grilled or seasoned enough though, so it was lacking in both taste and texture. Last few notes. Service is good though - fast, courteous, attentive. Price isn't justified by the food quality though, and definitely not a place I'd come to if I was paying.

Not as good as I had hoped. The service was mediocre. Same with the food. The steak was a dry and chewy. The menu did not look too Greek. I guess it is part for the course for a hotel restaurant. Much better options in the area for Greek food at every price level.

My husband and I took our family there for dinner on Saturday. The place was empty. Only 1 other group of people were eating there. The place was very clean and nice. Our salads were superb, but I was disappointed that we were not offered fresh cracked pepper. I even saw the pepper mill on the counter for the staff to use, but our waiter didn't even bother to offer it. Our dinner wasn't that great. I had the seafood rigatoni with spicy marinara. It needed Parmesan cheese badly. Which I had to ask for since it wasn't offered. The pasta was overcooked and mushy. The rest of the group got kebabs. The beef was over cooked and dry. The chicken kebab was moist and good. My husband got the fettucini Alfredo Marco Polo with shrimp. When it came we were both shocked to see that it was a curry flavored dish. How is that Italian? No where in the description did it mention that. This was our second time here. The first time we went was on a Friday for lunch. The food and service on that visit was great. I think it's better to eat here during the week when they are busy and not on the weekend. I do think they need to improve in there service and quality of food. The food was way overpriced for the quality if food we received. They also need to provide a better description of there menu items.

Came to Faz yesterday with some gals from work for a "team pow wow". Very nice decor. Nice atmosphere. Popular with the local lunch crowd. I ordered a steak kebob salad with gorgonzola cheese, pine nuts and pomegranate dressing. Others ordered: Salmon with cous cous, Chicken pesto pizza and Prawn and avacado salad. All dished were presented nicely. And smelled wonderful. As for my lunch, the steak was cooked perfectly, on the rare side. Arugula was fresh. A little stingy on the cheese but what there was of it was quite tasty. Pine nuts could've been toasted a little longer. Pita bread was served to the table. It was nice and soft. The olive oil for dipping had very distinct flavor. One I hadn't tasted before. My one big complaint was it was quite expensive for lunch. My bill came to $24 w/tip and I only drank tap water. I would definitely come back if someone else was paying. They had a lot of interesting stuff on the menu. Oh, and P.S. they had a cool deck area outside that would be nice on a spring day. Unfortunately for us it was raining.

I got the Soltani entree which was a combination of lamb and beef kebobs with rice and vegetables (green beans and peppers). Both the lamb and beef were so tender they could be cut with a fork! Both were perfectly seasoned and the rice is very good, though could use more saffron. Excellent meal...had me craving it again the next day. Beautiful spot at the Sheraton perfect for business lunches and upscale dinners. Highly, highly recommend their meat dishes.

So, I've eaten here several times for business lunches, and it's pretty decent those times. Prompt friendly service, fresh and tasty food, not cheap but not horrible either. So, I figured that it'd be good for dinner too and I took my family there to eat tonight. I have a line at which my satisfaction with a "real restaurant" falls below that of fast food, at which I regret going to the "real restaurant." While I am not against spending money on food, I am against spending more money on a restaurant that delivers food that doesn't taste as good as fast food. In this case, I was considering going to El Pollo Loco or Boston market, both of which are ok, but fairly mediocre, compared to a real restaurant both in experience and in food quality. But, they are both fairly consistent and you know what you are getting for your money. I was about halfway through my meal at Faz and I bit into the 3rd piece of undercooked and rock hard rice that made my teeth ache like an orthodontist who hadn't gotten laid in a long long time. I realized that I had crossed the line, that I was thinking wistfully of chicken and salsa in a torilla or sloppy salty sides overflowing onto greasy rotisserie chicken. My meat at Faz was pretty tough and had that off flavor of a cheap cut of beef, like that 3 day old cut of beef with the orange discount tag at the supermarket. The rice was close to it's normal buttery self, except that there were several land mines of uncooked rice kernels that made eating it like playing russian roulette at your dentist. And, the $8 kid's meal that tasted like soggy noodles with ragu poured over it was disappointing, mainly because it was soggy noddles with ragu. :P Service was attentive and polite, but the food was a shipment full of fail, so it's going to make me think twice about even eating lunch there. Definitely won't be back for dinner.

I've been dining at Faz for over 6 years! I'll admit, as the years have gone by, each time I visit it seems as if the crowd becomes less and less. At my last visit I was surprised to see the restaurant was practically empty! =( And I'd made reservations to ensure my seating?! Luckily my purpose for coming was not to count the number of other guests but for the food, right? And, of course, I was not disappointed. I came in expecting nothing but a satisfiable, well cooked, and presentable meal. I ordered my usual (and favorite) dish - the chicken Kabobs served with Basmati rice and steamed veggies. Mmmmmm!!! Still as good as ever! Then, to top off my meal, I had to have an order of their housemade Mud Pie. It was perfect! Ok, I won't lie - the appetizers aren't anything special. The Calamari we ordered was a little 'rubbery' and the pita bread tasted as if it had been sitting out. It was a little stale actually (or atleast it tasted like it). Faz, are you under new management? Take me back to your glory days when the crowds were bustling and the food was a little fresher. Other than that... I still love ya!

Been here a couple of times for happy hour and the food & drinks are great! This week our team headed here for lunch and most of us ordered the daily special - Lobster & Scallop pasta ($26). Since I'm allergic to scallops, the kitchen was able to substitute it w/shrimp w/no up charge. Yay! No skimping on the seafood here, the large chunks of lobster & fresh shrimp filled me up. Even their starter Greek salad was a generous portion. Waiters were attentive and decor, nice. Can't wait to come back when the weather is warmer to enjoy some cocktails on the deck!

I know of another reviewer who said it all: "you can tell the man eats here." This is quite a nice place with lots of business deals and work-subsidized lunches going down. But it's the bay area, so almost nobody is wearing a suit. The restaurant is part of the Sheraton hotel complex on Mathilda, just north of the 237 overpass. If the parking lot is full in front, just go around the side or back and there should be plenty of spots. It's a short walk through the hotel grounds to the restaurant. The restaurant interior is large, clean and quite fancy. It almost looks too nice for the aging hotel that surrounds it. And there is outside seating as well. Every time I look at their spacious back patio I think, "that looks like the perfect spot to have a G&T." Someday I'll have follow through with that.. The staff here is usually friendly and sometimes chatty. The menu is Mediterranean food with a Persian bent. (ghormeh sabzi is typically on the special menu) but has other options such as specialty sandwiches and gourmet pizza. I have eaten here twice and stuck to the Mediterranean dishes. Both times the food was excellent. Meals are served with two kinds of bread: flatbread served crispy and slightly warm, and a more spongy style bread with a buttery taste. Yum. The rolled beef and chicken kabob plate is quite good. The beef, which is moist, tender and full of flavor, definitely wins out, but the chicken isn't bad. These are served with a wonderful, bi-color, basmati rice with butter. Also included is a perfectly roasted whole roma tomato as well as green beans and peppers. Total cost of this meal was around $15. The ghormeh sabzi is awesome. Full of big meaty chunks of lamb and well seasoned. Maybe a tad too oily but this has not stopped me from using my flatbread as a scoop to get every last bite. This is served with the same wonderful rice. An eminently satisfying meal. Total cost was $19 including tax & tip. This is about twice what I normally pay for lunch, but Faz has such good food and ambience that I can't take off too much for price, but then I can't give it a 5 star rating either. Pros: Great food; Large menu; Pleasant setting Cons: High prices

Bottom line (at the top to save you from going to the bottom of this post): I would be embarrassed to take a business client here. I went here for lunch with a coworker/friend and it was bad all over. While the restaurant décor and ambience is very nice, the food is - to put it nicely - crappy! I got the lunch special lamb shank ($16) and the lamb was tender but on the dry side. The dill & butter rice was the real problem though, there were a lot of dried out, hard grains of rice and I was afraid of chipping a tooth on them. My friend got the roasted chicken ($16) and it had a wonderful, crunchy skin, which was sadly overshadowed by an extremely DRY and stringy interior. These obvious issues with the food are not acceptable for the price you are paying. When the waiter stopped by to ask how our food was, we both looked at each other to decide if we should say anything. Our overly anxious waiter preemptively answered his question himself though and left. Why this place is extremely packed during lunch is beyond me. Maybe it is because it is one of the only sit-down restaurants in the immediate vicinity. Drive a little farther and go to a restaurant with cheaper and tastier food.

I spent a couple of afternoons in the bar of Faz the last couple of days. They have a mediocre beer selection, and serve them in a frosted mug. My frosted mug had about an inch of ice in it, not too fond of ice in my beer. Frosted mug okay, inch layer of ice inside, not okay. They have 2 televisions, which would be great if they were tuned to different things, but they seemed to always be set to both. One of the guys behind the bar didn't understand English. I believe he was just cleaning up, or refilling the bar, but since he was more visible than the busy bartender, myself and other patrons were frustrated with his inability to assist. They have a small spread of homemade potato chips, salsa, cheeses, and vegetables that are free. Additionally they had a 3 set of hummus on the bar menu for 6$ that I wished I tried.

We took Mom and Dad here for lunch when we looked at another house down in the Sunnyvale area. We arrived hungrier than normal, so we ordered alot of food. They say that hunger is the best spice, so we pretty much devoured all that was set in front of us. Coming in at about 2pm, we missed the lunch crowd, and had the place pretty much to ourselves. Our waitress was kind and quick, an excellent combination. She checked to see if they had quail (only one quail kabob left) and when we bought plates to share, cheerfully brought small plates for us to use. She brought hot, damp napkins to use after eating the quail and refilled my soda cheerfully when it got to about the quarter mark. We shared the Mediterraian (I can never spell that word, please forgive me..). platter with the fresh, warm flatbread. There was only one dolma (but it was good), but the babaganoosh and the humas were very tasty and the chopped cucumber and tomato were a fresh relief. We cleaned that platter (there's a Colorado saying when you clean a plate that it will be a clear day tommorrow!) Let me just say that the quail was fantastic. Not only was the quail good, but it came on a bed of sweet rice with tasty bits of...many different ingredients. We all enjoyed the quail. The jujay kabob was okay. The zeresh pollo was very nice. I had the half of pomegranate chicken which came with mashed potatoes. I didn't eat the potatoes, because I am just not a mashed potatoes kind of girl. The pomegranate chicken, however, was delicioso! Good service, good food, and a very pretty restaurant. What more can you ask for? It was not cheap, but four adults with rood to spare came in under a hundred dollars. Not bad. I know that I will want to come again... on a special occasion. It would be a nice restaurant for a first date or an anniversary.

I'd say this is a good restaurant. The food was good. Wide variety to choose from on their menu. Service is great for large groups and a little slow on the smaller groups 3 to 4 people. Otherwise this is still a good restaurant.

So, it's hard to determine if I would even give this place a three if my meal wasn't paid for by someone else (My work took me out on a date, I like to say). Even though I wasn't paying for myself I took note of the prices and they all seemed exceptionally high for what the food was. I ordered a $15 Chicken Kabob Salad, which (while tasty) consisted of nothing more than skewered chicken, a half a potato cut up, lettuce and a cream dressing they attempted to label a Vinaigrette. As I said, the salad was fine but it just seemed very plain. After lunch I had espresso which was not bad but not as rich as espresso should be, but most places that aren't coffee heavy tend not to get it right anyhow. The plus was the bread they served was good (even if the communal style had me hoping everyone seated had washed their hands). Also the service was very good. The staff was attentive and made sure everyone received refills and was well served. Not bad but I could never see going there to spend my own money. Just do it on the company dime.

Business lunch at Faz today, not my choice. Here is the deal: the setting and ambiance are relatively nice. It is a fine place to hash out a business deal. The service is OK. They refilled my diet Pepsi 4 times without me asking for it, but at the same time put two incorrect lunch orders in front of me before setting mine down. The issue? The food is not great. I had the balsamic vinaigrette salad with chicken. The greens and dressing were quite tasty...but the chicken was awful(ly bad). It was hard and did not taste good. Period. The hummus in the middle of the table was bland. The pita bread was OK, but not very pita-like. So I ate the greens and had 5 glasses of diet Pepsi. And I left more than a little bit hungry. On the plus side, the meeting went well.

Silicon Valley lunch spot for a decade. Good atmosphere and a good, centralized location, but parking can be a bear when they have functions over lunchtime. The service is generally good, however they seem to have a high turnover of employees, so the servers are sometimes (in training). Food is good, in general. I've had everything from the Kabobs to the Roasted Chicken to the Salmon and the Pizza (which is my favorite). I've had better Kabobs, but the food here is well prepared and generally tasty. I haven't had a bad dish.

The food was ok, but the service was TERRIBLE. our waiter could barely speak any language and when we complained about then portion we had to talk to the chef to no avail. Last time there. Now I know why other reviewers complaining.

Since they were busy for lunch, I ended up taking their suggestion and sat at the bar. I ordered some kebabs and the house red. The kebabs were okay, but for the price, I could've gone to Robee's Falafel for cheap and have more food to go along with it. Also I feel that the amount of executives and white-collar men in the establishment was just a bit intimidating for me, as someone who isn't at that level yet. Ah well.

I had so-so expectations for this place. I ordered a simple Caesar salad with chicken, my friend ordered the chicken linguine. The presentation of the food was great, it had a great smell, large proportions. Unfortunately both my dish and my partners fell short of expectations. The chicken in the Caesar salad was dry and difficult to masticate. The chicken linguine was topped off with a nice sauce but the chicken itself was tasteless. After finishing the difficult meal, we informed the waiter of our food and he took it off our tab. (hence the two stars). Shortly after I got my usual drink, a tequila sunrise.. yeah it sucked. I would not come back here again. Thanks for the experience at least.

two words: WAAAAAAAY Overpriced. I didn't think their food was fantastic. The menu confused me, i didn't know if I was in a Medteranean restaurant, or Italian. Pizza? or kabobs? Our lunch for four, tap water, and no appetizers were around $91 dollars. GEEZ. There are better 'Persian' restaurants around for a fraction of the price. I was also actually shocked that they do a mandatory 'service charge' for a table of 4. usually it's 6+, which is understandable because there are lots of people but I'd think 4 is normal. The service was unimpressive. If you're going to do an automatic 'service charge' ie Tip, I expect for you to bring the meal to the correct person who ordered it and not come by the table and ask who got what. Even with the discount we get there, I wouldn't want to go there again.

I've been here a couple of times. The food is good - certainly not as good as Dish Dash a couple miles ago but a hell of a lot less crowded. Also a hell of a lot more expensive. So fine, whatever. They give giant sized portions so I guess that sort of makes up for it? The decor is pretty nice - open feel with a nice color scheme (of course I don't remember but they were nice). And my friends love the bread with olive oil dipping sauce with I don't know, cucumbers and garlic or something in it. For me...if you're going to serve and olive oil/vinegar, don't put pita out. Because seriously? That's not going to work very well. As for the rest of the food, like I said, good. But not totally worth the price. But food plus ambiance? That works for me. What was weird at this particular lunch was the service. It wasn't spectacular - very small amount of bread brought for number of people and really, really slow at bringing out more once asked. And then this dude TOTALLY couldn't figure out what we were expecting with the bill. We put in a bunch of cash and asked him to put a certain amount on the card. So he went away and attempted it. And then came back and had a pretty long discussion about how there would be too much cash leftover if we wanted that much put on the card so did we maybe want less put on the card? It was seriously bizzare how long it took to figure out and kinda killed it for me. It's like he had never gotten a tip before and didn't realize that the extra $$ was probably going to be his tip.

I've been to Faz about 10 times in the last year and a half and it's not because I love the place, but because its convenient when I'm staying at the Sheraton. My last trip experience at the restaurant was this past Thursday. I normally try and go to other restaurants in the area, but the group that I was with just wanted to stay close to the hotel. As other reviewers have stated, the restaurant is really overpriced. But since I go on a business trip, I don't normally look at the price. I have found that the fish dishes are normally the best thing to order. I have had some of the appetizers (crab cakes), but thought they were really dry. So if you have to go the restaurant, stick with the fish!

Couldn't really see where the restaurant since it is hidden behind a bunch of trees. The place is decent even though we were the only table there on a Sunday evening. I ordered the grilled salmon which a tad over cooked but still decent. The string beans were a tad under cooked and you could definitely taste the butter in the mashed potatoes. It was an alright experience overall however I would probably not come back again.

Sorry, I guess I'm a 1 star hater. First off, don't order the omelets. They don't how to cook eggs. I ordered a veggie egg white omelet and I got back an over cooked egg white patty flipped over greasy, sopping veggies and I paid 13$ for it. The waiter never checked on me and I was pressed for time so for the sake eating something vs eating nothing (which is way worse) I grit my teeth and swallowed it. I later asked for a comment card and the hostess told me they didn't have comment cards... Apparently. This is not a place where you want to eat. If you don't care about these things then at least go to Denny's down the road. At least they have corporate standards on the food and you'll save money. If you just like well plated food that isn't cooked properly, then take some pepto and eat here at least they atmosphere was nice.

The interior design of Faz is very nice. Subtle & chic, yet classy. The service isn't bad, but it's nothing to rave about either. Last time I went, I had the Chicken Linguine which was very good. It's a linguine dish with mushrooms, sundried tomatoes, chicken, and a garlicky light cream sauce. I enjoyed the dish a lot. Also had the calamari which was very good too. OoOOh, and the bread that they give you before your meal is delicious. The menu is more on the pricey side, but the food is pretty good and this is in a business area. Bottom line : food is pretty good, service is ok, but the restaurant as a whole isn't necessarily spectacular. However, I do want to try the rest of their menu. They have some dishes that really grabs my attention such as kabobs and an avocado/jumbo prawn salad.

The food is very good. The Ambiance is also clean, trendy and nice. I have been there at least 6 to 7 times. I didn't have a problem with the service. The crowd tends to be lots of business people from companies around. They make their own bread in a traditional Persian oven. It's a site to see. I would definately recommend this place and would go there again.

More like 2.5 stars. + They handle the influx of local tech geeks at 12 sharp very well, very short wait for a table, even with no reservations Bread and dipping oil is very good - Despite what I read about the good service on here, I didn't experience it. Waiter charged the wrong amount to my card It took about 10 minutes to flag him down to correct this Food is 'eh'...even if a sales guy was taking me out, I don't think this would be my first choice

I went here with a friend to celebrate her deflowering (her word) as a convert from Republican to Democrat. We were both in the mood to celebrate. The biggest problem with Faz is finding it. It's attached to the Sheraton hotel. While there is a sign, it's easy to go past. Just look for the Sheraton by Moffett Field. That's really the only thing negative I can say about this place. The ambiance is very nice. This is a good place for a date or a celebration. Even a business dinner would be right at home. Upscale but not standoffish. The bar is bright and well lit. People are friendly and the drinks are good though not superstar. My friend was happy with her martini. My margarita was fine though nothing to write home about. The drink size is large. The restaurant has a Mediterranean slant with lots of the typical American upscale meat dishes too. We shared a lovely polenta fries as an appetizer. They were nicely seasoned and the dipping sauces added just the right counterpoint. My main dish was completely awesome. I order the chicken in walnut pomegranate sauce. I haven't had better in Persian restaurants. It was well seasoned, tasty, and superb. The portion was HUGE. I have enough for dinner and, maybe, even a lunch. Coffee was strong and tasty. Service was quick, friendly, and attentive. Prices were a little on the expensive side. You won't get out of this place for under $20. With drinks figure on $35 to $40 at least. You will be totally full and happy for the money. Overall I can't think of anything else I'd want from Faz.

Came here because on opentable.com they said that there is outdoor dining, and it was crazy hot outside. Nope, we got there at 8pm on a Saturday night, only about three other tables had people, and no, they don't do outdoor at night. Excuse me host with the attitude, which is where the poor service started. Once we placed our order, we didn't get checked up on. Our dinner was served by someone else. Butter and Dip: 5 Stars (the bread rocked and so did the dip!) Food: 3 stars. I ordered the lamb kabob. It came with rice and veggies. The lamb was boring with very little flavor. I waited to get someone's attention (took 5 minutes at least). I asked for more of the dip that came with the bread, put it on my lamb and then it was super good, and the rice was very good as well. My friend ordered the Pomegranate Chicken. It was severly overcooked. Service : 2 stars Maybe it is better here at lunch when they are super busy from the Moffett Park offices. The menu actually was very innovative and we wanted to try a few different things...but, not sure I will try it again.

Came here the other night for dinner. My guess is that majority of their diners are people from out of town and they come here out of sheer convenience b/c its within the vicinity of the hotel. Also b/c they are from out of town, they don't know where else to eat b/c they don't know the area. When we walked in, it looked like we were about to be denied seats b/c we weren't dressed up. However I was relieved when I saw that some of the other diners were dressed very casual, some even wearing sweats (hotel guests...?) I don't know why but I expected more ethnic mediterranean food, however was disappointed that their menu was filled with pizzas, pastas (um...fettuccini?), shish kabobs, hummus etc. Doubt we'll be back...

I have been here on occasion and usually it has consisted of buffet style self serve. It's alright. The food has been hit or miss and I've heard other tables complain about this or that. Eh... It doesn't change that some of the offerings I truly enjoyed like the prime rib. Some of the deserts have been also hit or miss. Some of the tiramisu..if I recall correctly were partially frozen....hmmmmm. I guess that comes with the nature of mass prep for large functions......but still. I do kind of like the hide away location they got going on there. I would never have imagined it being there. Speaking of which..isn't this the old location of Charlie Browns??? I have read other people's reviews and have seen an upswing..perhaps they have addressed certain quirks that some people find offensive. I want to try to this place out again and experience under a different light. When that will be? erm... I dunno - considering that I heard that the chef or previous chef rather has gone back to MacArthur Park....oh well.

we went there tonight, the place is quite nice. It was not crowded. The have a decent wine list and made us a cocktail as well. The bread with the olive oil was really yummy...we asked for it again! The Olive oil had cucumber/parmesan cheese and is delicious. The appetizer we had was the mediterranean platter, which had a little of everything. The hummus seemed fresh. We also had a Pizza which was also good. So why the 3 star ??? for such a lightly crowded place the service was not good. We asked for bread and the waiter forgot twice. The food was good and so may go back.

Faz is a place for power lunches. If you are in the valley and want to be seen this is where it all happens. I have been here several times for lunch and it never lets me down. When I visit the same resturant more than once I usually like to try new things, but Faz is the only place I always gravitate to the Chicken and beef combo kababs. Excellent and finger licking good. All their grilled items are definitely a notch higher. The entree comes with these crunchy veggies of beans and peppers, yum just yum! The kebabs are made of ground chicken and beef with spices added. The yellow rice and a side of grilled tomato round off a great lunch. Service is fast since the lunch crowd doesnt really have the time to sit around. But if you do look around you see the starch iron shirts in deep conversation. The place is bright, lively and large. Always love coming to Faz!

Faz is conveniently located to all the companies in the 237 / Mt View corridor. The ambiance is nice and the service is fine. I have tried their salads and they are great. The menu caters to every taste. The persian kabobs are good but the lima bean rice dish was just dry and not very flavorful.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
