After 20 minutes in the insanely crowded 24hr Fitness I walked into this place for some mood improvement. Nicely decorated walls, friendly staff, tasty, tasty lamb shawama. One not so minor carping - what's up the gross looking apron on the dude who serves the food? I don't usually pick on the hygiene of a $10-per-entree restaurant, but I can only tolerate what I don't see.

Today we were invited to a Graduation Party at Falafel Bite. The food was served family style on a large table in the center of the restaurant. It was presented well and looked tasty. The restaurant was clean and the staff was frienedly. Everyone appeared to be happy with the quality and the food... was tasty. I found the differing entres and the accompanyments very good and satisfying. There was quite an assortment available. The owners sat with and spoke to our party members and were extemely on-top of all of our needs. The desserts offered, namely baklava, was light, sweet and unique. I commented to the owner that I found it to be better than the average Baklava. I checked out the regular menu items that they offer and found the prices very competitive. They use only Kosher, ( "Halal" ), meats, from beef, chicken and lamb. The hummus was also better than average. I like mine less bitter and that's exactly the way it was. My wife loved everything that she ate, especially the falafel. The other important thing, for me, is that I could have the less spicy food, while my wife could enjoy the more spicy food. I found out that they will offer less spicey food for those who request it and they even offer " a less carb" choice menu. I read many of the reviews on Yelp for this restaurant and checked out a sample menu prior to attending this party. I would like to say, that, for those who chose to like this restaurant were very happy with the food, a big "high Five", and those who were less happy with this restaurant can Falafel Bite Me. As an Independent Travel and Food Writer, I am an objective commentator who says exactly what my experience is when reviewing restaurants and places of interest. If you ever have read my Column entitled " Don't Go ! You'll ruin It !" you'd understand that I am a straight- forward, from-the-hip advocate for or against. Good is Good and Bad is average. This restaurant was above average and rated a "GOOD" in my view. David S...

Yum-O! I would have to say House of Falafel and Falafel, etc (Fremont) have the best falafels I've tasted in Silicon Valley. I had the falafel plate which included a nice salad, a generous portion of hummus, and pita bread. This plate could easily make 3 falafel pitas. The falafels were long and rectangular...not what I'm used to...but whatever. They also tasted a little different as well. These falafels are crunchier and darker on the outside. I LOVE the fact that they have two big bottles of sauces for you to use....an awesome tahini sauce and a fantastic spicy sauce. I was able to make sure that EVERY bite was a perfect one. :) They also have a wonderful cream cheese baklava. Next time I will try the chicken shawarma plate! My stomach can't wait. ;) ------ Update: I tried the chicken shawarma plate and it was delicious!

One of the best Kabob place in my opinion! Meal comes with variety of veggie, hummus, rice and meat.

Me and my wife love this place.. untill now still no.1 Mediterranean place out of all we have been. we always order 1 falafel plate and that is big enough for us.. still 1 star less for expensive price..

3 1/2 Stars I've been coming here for the past year and half. It's great because it's conveniently located close to my work. I recently went yesterday and found the place to be remodeled. They painted the walls warm orange and hung a ton of posters and pictures on it. It was a bit tacky because they used thumb tacks to post them up, but it was a cute attempt. They even added a super soft sofa (alliteration anyone?!!!) with plush pillows in the kitty cat corner of the restaurant. Even with the so-so decor, the place continues to hold its charm. I love the Lamb Shawerma (both the wrap and the plate). Get the wrap if you're on the go. Plates come with a generous portion of yellow rice, plain hummus, pita bread and a salad. My favorite part of the salad is the pickled radish. The food is good, but I don't like how they add a spoonful of oil on top of the hummus. And the salad dressing seems to be just oil. Why???! Other than that, the food is delicious and great for the price. Non-vegetarian plates are $8.99 and wraps around $6.99 ($1 less for vegetarian). If you have a chance, check out Gyros House in downtown Mountain View. Liz. L is right when she said the lamb tastes a little fatty, so Gyros House may be a healthier bet. Tip: Ask for the yogurt, it's soooooo good with the wraps!

Great food, friendly service, and prices that don't hit your wallet too hard!! Love this place.

I just had lunch at HoF for the first time and I was really happy with the Lamb Shawarma wrap. The meat was tender, the veggies were fresh and the hot sauce was really good. My co-worker had the Chicken Kabob plate and he mentioned that the hummus, chicken and the rice were great too. I'll go back.

Their website has the WORST MAP EVER. Not only do they misspell the two streets that intersect at this location ("Arqves" and "Lowrence") but they also indicate that freeway south of here when traveling on Lawrence is the 680 (a highway that's like 10 miles away). I'm a cartographer so I can't help but notice these things. Well I guess except for me, most people wondering about this place are interested in the food, not the map. So let's go to the atmosphere instead. You order at the counter and there's a bevy of glass topped tables to choose from. Although my table was "clean" there was still a little food on it, and several pieces of food on the chair. There was also a cool bean bag couch area with a flat screen TV that blasts musicals in Arabic (Hollywood meets Lebanon?). My chicken schwerma was pretty decent. From what I could see the chicken quality looked slightly sketch. Thankfully it was wrapped up in lavash so I couldn't see or taste any sketchiness. In case you're wondering they serve halal meats.

Came in search of a decent falafel. Left with a Middle-Eastern burrito. I just can't get excited about a wrapped falafel -- pita is the only way to go. The search goes on. Decor has all the ambience of a hookah bar.

Perhaps I was too amped on this place cuz I LOVE mediterranean, and I read the reviews. I wasn't impressed. I had their chicken shish-kabob plate and the chicken was too dry. Man! People really don't cook their chicken right!

I came here for dinner about two weeks ago and I got the Mediterranian salad. I was expecting a big salad with goat cheese and chicken cubes and stuff like that, something reasonably filling. everyone else at the table of about 10 got their food before me, but I wasn't complaining because I thought the salad would be worth it. Well, it finally came out and it looked like a plate of salsa. It had some cucumber and tomato and stuff, and it would have made a very good salsa, but it wasn't a meal like I expected. Luckily for me, I was sitting across from my generous friend who shared with me her pitas and hummus, which went quite well with the salsa-salad. She also gave me some of her lamb wrap, which was pretty good too although a little on the salty side. Anyway, don't get the meditterranian salad if you're looking for something to fill you up, unless you have a good friend to share food with.

Not exactly the cleanest and nicest looking place. Price is good, food is really good! m not sure how they make their sauce but its good! There is another location of this place in cupertino which is a much smaller place. I personally like it here because there is much more room and less people (maybe at the time i went).

My husband and I stopped here even though the sign towards Lawrence was not illuminated. We are very glad we did. I had a lamb shawerma wrap, no tomato add eggplant. Husband had a chicken shawerma. My meat was so juicy and flavorful, and lots of it! I had a hard time finishing it off and had to just eat the meat out of the last 2 inches. The owner is very friendly and happy to be expecting TRIPLETS next month. He chatted with us for a while (we went for an early dinner, not lunch, which is apparently jam packed) and seems to be a very friendly and extreemly hardworking man.

I went here a couple of times with friends. There's plenty of tables and much more spacious than their Cupertino outlet. Tried the chicken shawarma.. it was okay but the Cupertino outlet's chicken was better and much fresher. Their fries and falafel, baitee kabab and kanafeh are good (but the falafel is not the best in town). Will still come here again bcoz of the space. i wish I can give them 3.5 stars but I can only give them 3 stars since the chicken shawerma at Cupertino was better (they get my 4 stars for that)

Update: If you order food to go, be sure to check if they missed anything. They've twice forgotten to put pita bread in my shawerma plate and once forgot to put hummus in my friend's shawerma plate. Oh and lately the meat has been a lil burnt....not feeling this place anymore. Would downgrade it to 3.5 stars if i could. -------- Tried the following: Lamb Shawerma - wrap and plate Chicken Shawerma - wrap and plate Lamb Shish Kebab - wrap Chicken Shish kebab - wrap/plate Their chicken shish kebab wrap is my favorite, but you can't go wrong with any of the above! Plates come with rice, hummus, pita bread and a salad Pretty good portion size for the $. Most plates are $8.99 and wraps around $6.99. I visit this place atleast once a week during lunch (its close to work).

Being a vegetarian ...my options for food tend to be limited. In addition, having been born and brought up in India ....most vegetarian food options in the US suck. But- Greek/Afghan food comes close to satiating my taste buds. Falafel Bite was surprising not crowded on a Saturday afternoon. The place was clean and they had pictures of all the dishes on their walls. Very useful if you are a newbie ! I wasn't. I ordered a Veggie combo which didn't fill me up ! But the food was delicious. Falafel balls were so good ...crunchy on the outside ..soft on the inside. Hummus was the right flavor ..didn't care about the pita bread. The combo didn't fill me up so ordered the vegetarian biryani ..which was surprisingly very yummy. It was served with a tomato curry ...mildly spiced and yogurt.

Had a falafel wrap once for lunch. Seems this was a favorite with one of my brothers-in-law who had lunch here for 3 consecutive days during his short trip to the US. Was good for the price - $5.99 or so. The surroundings are clean with some interesting middle eastern decoration on the walls. There was a string instrument made of animal skin and two white furs on the wall. The wrap sufficed me for the entire day - I kept half of it for dinner. There was a huge TV in a corner where they were showing an Egyptian concert. So there was some music going on all the time. The man at the counter was missing for some time. Will definitely visit again.

Pretty good.... Parking sucks... $4 for some hummus is a bit much... the food was pretty good though... fast service. I only had the falafel wrap... but it looked like there was alot of other really good stuff on the menu.... I think I'll likely go back sometime soon...

  • Sam K.

This place used to be called House of Falafel and they change ownership. The new owner is friendly and love to talk to customer. I wish I can give 4 stars but the House of Falefal at Cupertino is so much better in term of Fresh meat and portion. No complain about the restaurant seating or size but it is located in a complex shared with Fitness 21 and parking is rather challenging during lunch time.

  • Julie D.

Fast and Yummmmmmy!! It is close to school and open til ten so i can just make it after i get out of class. I LOVE the falafel. It is stuffed with lettuce, onion, tomato, eggplant. I also add tabouleh because i love parsley. The hott sauce is to die for and I just started eating the white sauce. (doesn't taste like ranch but reminds me of ranch)

  • Sarah K.

Hankering for fried chicken? Well, you're in luck because you can satisfy the same crunchy, deep fried hunger without the chicken (if you're vegetarian), without the cholesterol (well less :), and even without the guilt (if you're Jewish or Catholic). House of Falafel is your answer! If you're going with friends (and why wouldn't you?), you should share a falafel appetizer platter and a wrap! Lunch hour during the weekday is crazy so try to go a little early or a little late--before 1145 or after 1.

Have to say that I have eaten much better fare. I had the lamb kabob plate today and the lamb was tough and over cooked (maybe old goat??). The rice was pretty bland so I doused it with hot sauce.

Walking into this place, I honestly did not know what to expect. I've only heard word of mouth from plenty of folks to come in an actually try this place out. So on an evening that I was having my usual favorite exotic cravings, I decided to take up the idea and just go with it. I eat a lot at one time, so do not be alarmed at what I ate at this one sitting... I pre-ordered a nice sized piece of their Baklava (about a 2 x 2 size) which was soooooo fresh and tasty. Yes, I ate this before my food even came to me along with a Turkish coffee! I eat dessert in which ever order I want. Don't judge! Then for the entree (yes, shared with my loved one), we got the 6 piece Falafel balls and they were parfait! I could not stop eating them. I think I ate more than my share of them...so, that'd be 3 fairly, but considering I wanted them more... I got 4. Ha ha! So for my main meal, I ordered the ...I believe it was the number 6 (whatever the picture had, I wanted right then and there), which entailed two Kabobs of whatever meats they had (in which I ordered the chicken and lamb) , hummus, a salad and a fluffy ball of rice. It was so flavorful, I actually had tears of joy, that it was AS good as everyone had raved. So yea, try it and love it.

  • Roni K.

The falafel balls are ok. If you get it as a sandwich - the salad, pita bread, tahini and hot sauce are tasteless. Unfortunately the roaches walking by my table made it my last and final visit.

A cup of soup to go and a drink cost $8. It took 25 minutes to get the soup. Hmmm.

Food is quite good here. I've been here a few times and have had the kabobs and the falafel plates. The falafel here is probably some of the best that I've had. Nicely shaped balls of fried yumminess that will make your bowels oh so clean. ;-) The falafel plate comes with a tasty salad, hummus, and a side of pitas. Enough to make you full at lunch time. It's cheap, too. The falafel plate that I had was only $6 for five falafel balls! Not bad! Only thing that makes this a 4 star establishment if that parking is beyond unreasonable. The lot is fairly small and competes with space with the dentist office, Thai restaurant, a computer store, a yoga studio, a travel agency, a subway, and another computer store ... and oh yeah, the 24 hour fitness that's right next door. Needless to say, way too many business with very few parking spots available. I recommend getting there early to get a spot ... or if there are multiple people in your party, have someone hop out to get in line inside the restaurant.

I had the Falafel Plate ($5.99), which came with 5 crispy falafel balls, salad, hummus, & pita bread. Delicious! My friends ordered the Chicken Shawerma Wrap ($5.99), which was also really good, not to mention HUGE in size. The service was really quick (you order and pay, then sit down and they bring it to you). The restaurant is pretty informal. Lots of open tables at 11:30AM when we got there, but almost full by 12:45PM when we left. I haven't been to the other locations, so I can't compare, but I will definitely come back here! Great deal for great food.

  • Tony N.

I came here with a friend and the parking was such a hassle during lunch hours. It took us 20 mins and quite a far walk to get to the restaurant. I would have given it a 2 if i had to review the overall. Just food alone I would give it a 3 star. It was not that great but it wasn't bad either. I didn't get the falafel but i got a kabob plate. it was a bit dry and tough to eat. my friend had a falafel wrap which he said was good.

Yelpers--for once, I have to disagree with the majority. I ordered the lamb shawerma plate based on recommendations. The lamb portion consisted of smaill pieces of dry and untasty lamb. Really the spices on it redeemed the awful quality of the meat, or perhaps its preparation. The rice was ok, nothing special, and I wasnt very fond off the pickled salad. It just wasnt very good. I wont be coming back here. Sad, because i didnt even try the falafel. Good thing theres 10 other spots like this around the area!

    (2)
  • Arjuna S.

i eat here a lot - perhaps too often, but I've yet to get sick of it. This is probably the place that sparked my frequent craving for middle eastern food. Interestingly, I haven't tried the falafel here, but I've tried all of the kebab and shawerma wraps and plates and I've liked all of them. The kanafe's good here too, albeit a tad pricey.

    (5)
  • Ford P.

Chicken shawerma?!? Now that's a first! Of course I had to get that. Had lamb shawerma many times. The chik shawerma came in a long big wrap combined with veggies inside. Hot sauce and hummus bottles on the table added heat and creamy goodness to the $5 meal. Yum!

    (4)
  • Amy S.

My husband and I LOVE this place. We go about twice/month, always order something different and have always been satisfied! Excellent customer service and we really like the owner! Highly recommend. Also, nice to see all the fresh veggies that they transport in! :)

    (5)
  • Gregg T.

YUM! Someone at work recommended this place. Now we go almost once a week. It's pretty yummy. I almost always get the shawerma combo plate. It's got chicken, lamb, hummus, pita and salad. Not as good as Zankou Chicken in LA but still it makes my tummy happy and that's enough!

    (4)
  • Tom S.

This place may look like a stark cafeteria, but its hella good so screw the ambiance - the food is what matters. The falafel was delicious, I ordered a side not realizing that it was 12 falafel balls for $4... Awesome. I also ordered a lamb shawarma with no tahini. Delicious, almost as good as Truly Mediterranean in SF!

I love the falafal's here.. I think it is amongst the best in the bay..

Went for lunch today after reading the review on Yelp and have been wondering how many stars I'd give all through the meal! Its a simple, decent looking place in a strip mall. Nothing fancy, though they have floor cushions and low tables in one corner which seems like a nice cozy place to sit with a large group (one came in half way through our meal and it looked like a regular hang out spot for them) I decided to take one star off straight off for the service.. it is SLOW. It was pretty empty for a Sunday lunch, you had to order at the counter but our food took forever to arrive. The food itself was average, not bad, not great. My friend and I ordered lamb shewarma wraps and my husband ordered a kefta kabab platter. The wraps were grilled a la Gyros Gyros in Palo Alto which I liked. But they had some garlic mayo in them which was just strange (no I'm pretty sure it wasn't the spiced yogurt). The kabab platter was pretty big but again average. My son (one year!) had the falafels which he liked because they weren't spicy.. I didn't care for them too much either. All in all.. average.. and for me a gyros type place is comfort food which I have cravings for.. and this is definitely not it. Stop for a quick bite (or not!) but don't drive out of your way for a meal

    (3)
  • Derek C.

It's true. It's all very delicious and everything. Moist, yummy. absolutely cannot complain about the food. The service however and the crowds can be downright painful. If you're looking for a quick bite, call in an order. Or get in early. If you get in late, they seem to be out of their rhythm and you can wait a long time even if there isn't a crowd. You can spend this time thinking about the food and hopefully that will make it all better.

    (4)
  • G M.

The overly-humble name conceals the most flavorful Middle Eastern food I have found in the bay area. Nicely presented, quite fresh, generous, and inexpensive. It's a gem.

  • Neety P.

I had been craving kabobs all week so decided to give this place a try since it was close to my workplace. I had the lamb shish kabob platter for lunch today. So disappointed. Kabobs were super dry. I wish I had spent my 10 bucks elsewhere or had eaten my lean cuisine as previously planned and saved the calories :(

    (2)
  • Kim N.

Not quite the same as the other HOF..the other one is smaller and has a Doner plate which is lacking here. This location doesn't have outside seating but the inside is 3 times as large. Even though it hasn't been around too long it's packed to the gills even at 1pm. Had the kefta kabob plate and thought the kabob, hummus and rice were good but the pita and the salad were average. All my ex-coworkers loved their falafels, so it was thumbs up from 7 of us.

    (4)
  • Phoenix D.

they changed their name to Falafel Bite i think... but a rose by any other name is still a rose... DELICIOUS! my husband is isreali so i usually make him order, but you can't go wrong with the shawerma (chicken or lamb wrap) and their falafels are very tasty! not dry and hollow like some other places...

    (4)
  • Yelper ..

best falafel wrap ive ever had. amazing hot sauce. good prices. fresh having said that, the soda machine needs to move. its annoying having to walk through the line of people ordering to refill. the place is also pretty dirty (especially when it fills with smoke and everyone smells like falafels the rest of the day.) kinda sucks but i deal because the falafel wraps are incredible

    (4)
  • Chris R.

Went here for dinner on a Saturday night before going to see a movie. The place was deserted and felt kind of creepy. The food was fairly good and reasonably priced, but it took a few minutes for someone to take our order at the register. This place is definitely a lunch spot and not so much a dinner spot (unless you're looking for take-out perhaps).

I was so disappointed when we came on Sunday at 10:10am to discover that the sign was wrong and they didn't open until 11am. So, Cal and I left and did our own thing for a few hours. Then, we came back around 6p for dinner, and boy was it good! I got the shish kebab combo and Cal got the veggie combo. We loved everything on our plates. The salad, the hummus, the falafel...everything! My combo didn't come with falafels, so I had one of Cal's. The decor wasn't overwhelming, and I thought the corner with floor cushions was a nice touch. I think this is Cal's new favorite place in Sunnyvale.

  • Ed B.

Like the other House of Falafels, this is a no-frills operation with really good Mediterranean fast food. If you've gone somewhere else and tried falafel only to find it dry and tasteless, you've missed out. Here it is moist and spicy. Prices are pretty decent, especially since the portions are rather large. The falafel wrap is only $5 and most of the other menu items are $6 or $7. It's a bit hard to find because it is not visible from the street and there's no access to the parking lot from Lawrence. You enter the parking lot from either Arques (look for the 24hr Fitness building) or Titan way.

  • Nina S.

First time I ate here the sign read 'House of Alafel'. Now it reads 'House of Lafel.' Well, the more letters they lose off their name the better their food gets. The houmous (sp?) they sell is the best I have tasted since I arrived in this godforsaken place. It tastes like the real thing. I got tears in my eyes when I first ate it. I'm serious. The Staffs is nice too - very smiley. I can't wait to try their food when the next letter falls off the sign.

The best falafel in the Bay! I would always order the chicken shawarma which is delicious but I decided to give the falafel a shot. SO GLAD I DID! I haven't had falafel this good since I lived in New York. I love the fact that they are open til 10. It makes easy for someone like myself who works late then hits the gym after work. I always look forward to my 9:30 pm falafel! I took a friend visiting from L.A. to grab a bite here and she absolutely loved it as well. If you are a fan of Mediterranean food trying falafel bite is a must!

I went for lunch. First impression, looks like a very good place for vegetarians, lots of vegi choices. It was down hill from here. Utensils were dirty. Do they even have dish washer :-? We tired Vegi biryani, falafal and vegi wrap. We found some meat pieces in our vegi biryani !!! We complained but with nothing happened !!!!.... Can you sue these guys for serving meat to vegetarians... Not going there again !!!!

Yum yum yum. I am starting all my reviews today with three repeated words. Just got back from lunch at House of Falafel, got the veggie plate: 2 warm crunchy falafels, two pitas, lots of hummus, baba-ga-something (yes I know what it is, I just can't spell it), tabuleh, salad, and dolmas. Awesome. To much food to finish, all for $7.99. Got sides of tahini, spicy red sauce, and tzaziki. Make sure to go before 11:30 or after 1:30 because the line get kinda long.

Excellent combination plates - shawerma, shish kabob, gyro, vegetarian. The Chicken Fillet Kabob is also very good. The sides (hummus, etc) are nice. Great pita chips and baklava. Friendly owner.

I used to have lunch at this location at least one a week when I worked nearby in 2007-08. I think it was called House of Falafel back then. Anyway, it appears that the profit motive rules with a very heavy hand. The chicken shawarma wrap used to be a plump entity full of a nice mix of good quality, well seasoned dark/white meat cooked on that vertical rotisserie and wrapped in fine lavash with a balance of lettuce, tomato, and tahini sauce and heated through with grill marks. It was extremely tasty very satisfying with extra tahini and hot sauce sprinkled on at the table. I was in the neighborhood again recently and found a VERY different product with the new owners. To their credit, they are more attentive and concerned moment-to-moment than the previous regime, with a cleaner space and attentive staff taking your order and delivering food. But the previous regime made MUCH better products and SURELY paid for better ingredients! The current shawarma for about $8.00 is mostly lettuce. That's right, lettuce. What do you think the profit margin is on this one? It also contains a few pallid blobs of tomato sprinkled with, oh, I don't know, maybe an ounce or two of tasteless dark crappy chicken parts within which I found, a GODDAM chicken bone! I can't believe ignorant sheep still stand in line here.

Looking at the take-out menu, it seems there are three locations of this restaurants (Cupertino, Pleasanton, and Sunnyvale). You place an order at the counter. You get a number flag to put on the table (like in Carl's Junior). They bring you the food. The dining area is surprisingly large (deep). Maybe about 20 tables or so. All the items are under $10. They seem to be doing catering as well. The place is open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. 7 days a week. First visit here at the lunch time. I had a lamb shish kebab plate ($8.99+tax), which came with two sticks of lamb shish kebab, hummus, salad, rice and pita breads. Not bad, I thought. They also have "wraps" (no sides) that are under $6. One of my coworker had a vegitarian combo plate. It came with baba ghannouj. I don't know if it was supposed to taste that sour or they overdid it with lenons, but it was quite sour. Otherwise, everything looked reasonably good. I don't know where the food's exact origin is (sure, it is Mediterranean), but I am guessing Turkish? I'd definitely come here again.

Go here for lunch often. The chicken shawerma plate is awesome. Usually pretty crowded but very fast anyways.

I'm a huge fan of this place. I order takeout here every time I'm in Sunnyvale for business. I stick with the Chicken b/c that's all I know is good. The people are nice and friendly. I usually get the Schawerma or the kabob dinner plates -- they are so good. The humus, pita and other goodies that come with the dinner plate complete the meal. I think I'll try the Falafel next week. I can't write more b/c I'm craving it right now.

I wasn't expecting much out of this humble place, but the food is really good. The owner said they made the best baklavas in town and he wasn't kidding. It wasn't overly sweet, it was flaky and not soggy at all. They tasted really fresh and home made, I was impressed. The falafel wrap and the salads were also good.

I'm working out at a client in Santa Clara right now, and I swear I go here every day, but somehow, I'm not sick of it yet. Hearty portions, plates for under $10, and a nice variety. What's not to like?!

After spending five months in Europe and enjoying sketchy falafel houses, I am thrilled to have found this place. The food is awesome. I went with the falafel wrap and my friend had the kafta kebab wrap and we both were drooling over how good the food was. We were so full about 3/4 the way into our wraps but couldn't stop eating. We had the Tziziki sauce as an appetizer, which strangely enough didn't come with anything to dip with (no pita strips or bread?!), but was also good. The bathrooms are disgusting, so do not use them unless you're about to wet yourself. Other than that, I cannot wait to go back, I'll just use the toilet beforehand.

Meh. My falafel wrap was rather dry. I prefer Falafel Drive In.

There was a line at Subway so I decided to try this place. I'll try to say this without typing my excitement in all caps: cheap prices, huge portions, good food, five stars.

I ordered 30 falafel wraps with the hot sause (chicken, lamb, beef), It was so good. I cant stop thinking about it. The meat wasnt even dry and it was moist. I even ate some later thoughout the day and it was still moist. The chicken was the best. I would definitely go there during lunch time but it does get ridicoulousy busy during weekdays.

Hit this place up for lunch because the line at Pad Thai next door was too long. Pretty sure the guys running this place are from Jordan, but its your standard "Mediterranean" fare e.g. falafel (duh), kebabs, shawarma, etc. Most meat dishes come in either chicken, beef, or lamb. Chicken shawarma wrap was big and tasty. There was a bottle of Tahini sauce on the table and Al Jazeera on the big screen. Will definitely be back.

Walked in to order at the counter, saw a cockroach on the floor leading into the kitchen, and one of the employees stepped on it. Gross! Somewhat dumbfounded, I still ordered a chicken wrap. Took forever, and it was completely forgettable. What wasn't was the cockroach. I will not be coming back here. Given the dumpy decor, I wasn't really surprised.

I split the Falafel platter with a friend, and it was just meh. Had better hummus elsewhere, and the falafel had the wrong crunchy outer shell to moist innerness ratio... too much crunch making it a bit dry. I'll have to try other stuff on the menu ... seems the wraps are popular.

This is my back up place to go for my Falafel Fix! :) My #1 choice is Gourmet Express in Milpitas. The food at House of Falafel is always good. The two things I almost always order are the Falafels, and Hummus. The Falafels are really good. The hummus is good too. The hours here are great...open until 10 pm on the weekdays. I'm not too sure about weekends. The staff is friendly... they let me come running in as they were closing one night, and didn't turn me away - I still was able to take home my Falafel Fix ;) Check it out... you won't be disappointed!! :)

Updated (12/1/07) Too bad I cannot give them more than 5 stars. I went back again and pretty much ordered the same thing. We added one Baklava at the end because we felt like treating ourselves. That has to be the best piece of Baklava I have ever tasted in my life. I am adding a "6-star" to my comment because of the dessert. ================================================== I'm convinced the people who bash on House of Falafel either have not tried their food, got their reviews mixed up with some other restaurants, or are competing businesses around it. This place has excellent food, period. I went there on a Sunday afternoon and was greeted with an empty restaurant, I was a little hesitant and asked if they were open. After confirming the obvious, I ordered a Falafel plate ($5.99), and my wife ordered a Shawarma Combo ($8.99, with Lamb and chicken). We both had the mint tea while we waited, still wondering when the crowd was going to storm through the front door and yell "You're on hidden camera!" The food came instead of my imagined friends, and both plates were so big, we had to take a moment to examine it before we started eating. The meats were tender and juicy, not dry at all, and falafels were piping hot, perfect with the white and hot sauce that came with it. We also enjoyed the hummus with the pita, and we even had to get more pita because the portions were so large. We couldn't finish our meal, even though everything was so delicious. The food made us forget about the boring interior design and the non-existent service. Finally, some people came through the door and sat themselves comfortably at the sofa area; I am trying that next time! After over-stuffing ourselves, we had to go for a walk at nearby Fry's just to work off the feeling. We are already planning our next visit.

I went here for lunch and had the falafel wrap (of course!) and it was good. Only problem is it seemed a little dry but with the squeeze bottles of sauce on the table I was able to remedy that situation. I'll probably go back again.

This is the best hummus and baklava you'll find anywhere. Decore is nothing to talk about, but the food is phenomenal.

Did I come here on the wrong day? The falafel was average and not as good as other places I have tried like the the falafel drive-in. Prices were not that cheap. I was hoping to find a falafel place that was closer to where I live but it looks like there is still no good local source for falafel.

This place offers great value for money. I order takeout or eat here about once a week and am a big fan. The chicken shawarma plate and chicken kabab are perennial favorites. The meat is always well cooked and tasty, and the salad that it comes with is excellent with a bit of hummus. I always top off the meal with some baklava - I may come here just for its crunchy honey flavored goodness! Sometimes I'll order the lentil soup which can be variable in its consistency - I prefer it thick as opposed to a more liquid form. This restaurant is highly recommended.

This place is no-nonsense and has great food. I tried their lamb kebab and sharwama and both were awesome. The sandwiches and platters are equally tasty and it really depends on how hungry you are. If you get take out, ask for the white and hot sauce togo. I love this place!

A little heavenly spot full of people in a hurry to get through their lunch hour. and a good way to get through it. the kebabs were delish, mainly the beef and chicken ones and the falafel was crunchy and flavorfully spiced to the bite. the service wasn't amazing; the cashier was a little rude, but what the hell. and the only negative I have is the prices for the dish i got was a little much (~$10) for a quick service restaurant like this.

Here are some reasons why this place deserves five stars from me: First of all the prices here aren't that bad. They specialize in falafel, and the prices here for falafel items are great deals. The falafel appetizer has TWELVE, yes TWELVE falafel balls for $3.99. Ask for some pitas (free) and you've made yourself a meal. The dinner plates are large, and the price for meat wraps (sounds dirty doesn't it? ...yeah you know you like the sound of it though) are only a dollar or two more than their falafel wrap. Second of all, it's not like they give you crap quality food, and if they DO then it's damn tasty...crap...quality food. I've tried their wraps, schawarmas, baklava, and each one of them was a winner. Except...for the kanefeh...it's basically fried cheese drizzled in honey. The cheese doesn't taste like anything really, so what you're eating is delicious plain fat, deep-fried, and drizzled in honey. Stick to baklava if you want dessert. The biggest downside to this place (besides the setting) is the wait for the food, but the people behind the counter always seem concerned that you aren't eating yet, so they go to the kitchen and talk...or something... But yeah you should definitely check this place out. Do it ya bum! (~ Thanks to the conglomeration of Micky Goldmill, Dave Chappelle, and Peter for that quote)

I prefer to call it House of Shawerma, because I always get the Chicken Shawerma Wrap. On occasion I'll get the Lamb Shawerma wrap or the Chicken Shisk Kebab wrap. Never tried the falafel. I prefer to sink my teeth into cooked animal flesh instead. Yummy. You must eat in so you can use the squeeze bottles of the spicy red sauce and the white sauce. A squeeze of each before every bite is what I do. They tend to overkill on the onions, so pick some of them out unless you want stank breath. Red Sauce + White Sauce = Delicious Pink Sauce

  • Michael A.

I got emotional over this food. So good and great value. This was my first time. Lunch time parking blows but the lamb wrap is excellent. Quick service and nice people. I'll complete my review once I come back a couple more times.

Good food, fast service polite staff. It is a simple place serving good food fast. Sometimes the room gets smoky when it's really busy but if you sit by the door it's not that big of a deal. I like to sit on their low couches and read a book. A regular stop on my lunchtime rotation of good eats.

The dishes are made with quality meat and vegetables. Can't really beat the prices for this type of food - this and City Kabob are similar in these respects. I had a kebab dish vs. a falafel one and was fully satisfied. Be prepared for the same motif and M.O. as City Kabob: walk up, order, pay, pick up.

Ahh such a waste of time, had a long line at St Johns so we thought lets give this place a try. We tried the chicken shwerma and the falafel wrap, they were simply aweful...I'll say Falafel drive in is the place to go if you are looking for some decent falafels

    (2)
  • Arti R.

Some of the best falafel and humus and their homemade Ayran and baklava are awesome! Nice yogurt-based condiments too. I have seen all kinds of people in this place - Indian (i.e., veggie options), Pakistani, Chinese, African American, Caucasian and Mid-Eastern, of course. I mean, that says something about the food, surely. The food is light on the tummy and we go there often. But we discovered it late stumbling upon it by accident what with it being sort of behind the building and all. Recommend take out if you care about ambiance. But if you love hole-in-the-wall, you feel right at home.

The lamb shawerma wrap was excellent. Prices were good. Plenty of room for seating. There was a bit of smoke smell to the place from all the cooking, but it wasn't so bad for me. Overall had a good lunch experience and would recommend to others.

This place has been pretty consistent in food quality and service. The guys taking the order are always smiling and very cordial. The lamb shawerma plate and lamb shawerma wrap are my favorites. Their baklawa is also very fresh and tasty. I go to this place very frequently and have returned a happy and satisfied customer every time.

The first time I went here was probably about 6-9 months ago and I can't say I was overly impressed with the falafel wrap that I got that time. I went back at my boyfriend's behest a month or so ago and I really liked the shawerma combo plate that I got that time. We have gone back a few more times since then. I have also tried the falafel plate (very filling!), the chicken shawerma wrap, and the lamb shawerma plate. The lamb plate was my favorite. It had a good lamb flavor and wasn't overly spiced or overly greasy. I have yet to re-investigate the falafel wrap and I don't know if I will. I will definitely be going back, as my office is right around the corner and this is one of the 3 places nearby where my boyfriend likes to eat when he visits for lunch. If going at noontime during the week, I recommend leaving in time to get there shortly after noon. That way the line isn't too long (although it does move fast most of the time) and there are still some seating available.

I've been eating food from here or the Cupertino location for the past 7 months... at least 1-2 times a week! What can I say? Yummmmmmmmy. I could eat here forever. My favorites/recommendations: - Chicken shawerma wrap - House falafel wrap (with roasted eggplant ... mmmm!) - Veggie plate (sampling of baba ganoush, falalfel, tabouleh, dolmas etc.) The staff are friendly and service is good. A few times it is touch and go with the freshness of the wrap or falafels, but that does not happen too often.

House of Falafel is one of the best Mediterranean restaurants ever. It beats the other one by Santana Row. Very good Shawermas, with a magnificent filling; and extremely juicy meat. The food meets the prices just right. While eating there; you can listen to great young relaxing Persian music. The employees are very nice to you. It is the best place to go if you're hungry and you want fresh food.

fantastic food...we ordered chicken shawrma plate and keftah kebab plate and desert kanafeh...its one of the best Mediterranean food in the bay area..plus prices are not expensive...the only thing is the location which is kind of hidden...anyways we definitely plan to visit hose of falafel more often now

  • Sharon L.

This place is good. But not great. The salads are tasty and fresh. But the meat quality sometimes gets me down. I''m picky about tough meat and things resembling gristle. I think the chicken is better than the lamb. Pita is fairly standard. Service is fine if not overenthusiastic. If you're in the area, this is a fairly solid place for food. But overall I prefer Falafel etc. in Fremont.

i was so excited to try this place because a few of my friends rave about it. so, you might wonder, did it live up to the hype? answer: definitely! i am CHEAP when it comes to food and $9 is a lot, but the kabob plate i had was delicious! one reviewer wrote that the hummus was disappointing, but it really wasn't bad at all. 4 stars and not 5 because i ordered a lamb and chicken kabob, but got beef and chicken. the beef was a little dry and the food takes a while. other than that, can't wait to go back!

  • Michael N.

I have been going here for a couple years, and now the place is under new management. It was pretty good before and I liked the shawarma a lot. When the management changed this place got even better....much better. It is cleaner, the service is better than the good service it had and the food is AMAZING! I will be going there even more than I did before. Don't miss this one. The best shawarma and falafel in Santa Clara hands down.

a little expensive (~10$ per plate after tax/tip) and they don't like credit cards good food though, i get the falafel plate. seems fresh lady is nice and service is good for a self-service place. ambiance/decor - i only go after going to the gym so who cares oh also they open early (~10am) so that's good

The place is a hole in the wall but the food is really good. The portions are large. I ordered the Lama Shawerma which really satisfied my appetite...a MUST try...generous portion of lamb, seasoned well, not dry, and big enough for 2. My gf had the vegetarian plate (the one that has the falafel balls, dolmas, hummes, etc) which was good also but definitely not as good as my wrap. We ate family style between the two of us and came out of there stuffed. Total cost + tax was ~$15.13 (w/o drinks or dessert). The desserts looked tasty but they were a little pricey for a hole in the wall place ($4-5).

Late night? Hella hungry? Go here dude, this place is legit AF. The prices are really fair, and it's just good food all around. I got the lamb + beef wrap and my god, it was honest to god one of the best late night meals I've ever had. I'll go as far as to say that if you don't eat here on a late night, you're an idiot. I'm only docking one star because I've only been here once. I'd love to see how consistent they are with their food. Solid options all around.

I've eaten my fair share of middle eastern and this place stands out to me for being fresh light and tasty! Everything looked great but I needed a more healthy option. So I chose the chicken dinner plate with extra salad no rice. Delicious-I'll be back!

Food is sorta ok, but the staff is racist and rude! If you are not White, or Arab, don't bother going here unless you don't care about being treated like a second class citizen. First, the food: the Falafel was good, crisp outer layer with a soft and tasty middle. The hummus and the baba g and the dip are good. The biryani was a disappointment, with massive pieces of onions and tomatoes taking up a third of the volume. Guess they don't have time for much knife-work. Next, the racism: the condiments are not on any of the tables. We asked for them after having seen someone else using them. The lady who brought our food dismissively suggested we go get it from the cooler bin. Ok, fine. 5 minutes later, the next table (with three White folks) ask for the same thing. The condiments are promptly brought to their table. We were missing our Baklava that we had paid for. We ask for it. It is brought and unceremoniously dropped on the table with nary an apology for missing it in the first place. In contrast, the other diners were treated with respect and politeness. We didn't even say or do anything to invite any of this boorishness. We were of Indian origin. That is all. Needless to say, we will never come back here and will be sure to let our friends know what to expect.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place altogether.. The cons include: -Dirty location. The soda machine has a layer of grime, the silverware was so dirty we ended up using plastic forks, and the bathroom was nasty. -Food is tasteless at best. Pita bread and lavash are store bought, cold and very dry. The lettuce they use in the wraps is yellow and soft. The meat is bland. The hummus was grainy and smothered with oil (and jarred American pickles?). Had to pour chili sauce on every bite to make it edible. -Service is average. For example we ordered 2 drinks at the counter and after standing there for a minute after paying had to ask for the cups, only to be waved towards another table where dirty looking red cups were stacked. Sorry, don't have any pros to outweigh the cons. Just don't bother..

  • Tina N.

Lafa me some falafel. Try saying that 10 times fast! Okay, that wasn't really a challenge. Ordered: - Shawerma Combo (Chicken, Lamb, and Beef) $11.99 - Lamb and Beef Shawerma $11.99 - Gyro Wrap $7.50 Tina's Treasures and Tribulations - Two gyro wraps for $24 - Unfortunately for me, I went on a first date to this location and that didn't work out. Ha! - I found side parking, maybe they have backside parking? I didn't check! Sorry, I'm useless. - Service was great and the server provided a lot of good suggestions - The fries are pretty darn good! It comes with the meals that you order and some yummy dipping sauce. - This place is pretty much a great find and family oriented for gatherings. - Plenty of outdoor seating - Will I be back? Maybe in the near future

I ordered beef shawarma , the beef was extremely dry and chewy . I had to take 4 stars just for the service . They had an huge order for catering which made us wait 25 min for our food . If you can't Handel catering maybe you should close your door so you don't waste walk in customers time .i mention that to the waitress and she just walked away without an apology .

I been eye-ing this place for a while now but never bothered to try it... Well my work ordered from here the other day and holy cow I was in for a pleasant surprise! I ended up getting a grilled chicken combo plate. It came with a HEAP of rice (probably 2 cups worth for your nutrition and fitness enthusiasts) and 2 huge chicken grilled chicken thighs. Also included was a small side salad, hummus, and some pita bread. Rice was super fluffy and tasty...and the chicken was super juicy. I liked how it tasted fresh grilled and it had a hint of flavor as if it was grilled on charcoal. Need less to say, the TASTE of the plate was just as generous as the portion size! I found out that the plate cost about $12 which is pretty fair considering the quality and quantity of the food. I added in my own chicken to the rice and had more then enough for a second meal. So I give it the coveted 5 stars...because the food was still WARM when it was delivered. It came on time, and tasted super fresh. I feel that many businesses in this area put to-go and delivery orders on the back burner due to the # of orders they get from the tech companies in the area, so to get a hot fresh meal was totally worth it. I believe there is a slight fee for delivery. As mentioned, I first notice this place as I work out at the Arques 24 Hour Fitness once in awhile. I'm sold, I'm definitely going to stop by for a postworkout meal or suggest this place the next time we order in the office!

Place is right next to the gym we go to and it's spacious. Falafel wraps, grandmas chicken, chicken shawarma plate, and spicy baked chicken plate is what we've tried and are all good Always coming back for more! Don't forget the yogurt and hot sauce with your wraps!

Not a fan. I've tried several items, which I'll review below. Every time I've been inside the place, the lighting has been unpleasantly dim - it seriously feels like I'm about to get jumped or something. Chicken shawarma wrap: Comes wrapped in some kind of thin tortilla, reminiscent of lavash bread. Very dry and tasteless. The wrap as a whole smelled like Taco Bell and tasted like it too. Where was the Mediterranean flavor? Chicken shish kabob plate: Plates are better than the wraps for sure. But the chicken was a little rubbery, and the salad seemed like an afterthought that got thrown onto the plate. Prawn biryani: Tell me why my plate was served to me with three prawns. Three! I ordered prawn biryani, not biryani with a prawn garnish. The rice was good though, spicy and al dente Baklava: Sickly sweet yet dry - how do you do that?? Made my tongue stick to the roof of my mouth

I had a combo platter chicken and lamb kabob. Only complaint is portion is small. Otherwise food was great. I will come back if I'm in the area.

  • Pat T.

Terrible. If you cannot get pita right there's gotta be something wrong with that Mediterranean place right? We got the chicken shawarma plate, the chicken kabob plate and a side of fries. The fries were cold, and the chicken tasted rubbery, too chewy. The hummus was powdery and the salad that came with was the saving grace. Not worth another visit when there are a hundred other more delicious options around.

I used to frequent this place fairly requarly for a while. I did not stop going there because of anything the business did, but the experiences definitely did not make me want to go out of my way to go back. They used to be more accomating and hook me and my friend up with free sauce or let us customize our orders more readily, but we noticed a few months ago they started getting rather strict. They also raised their prices enough that made me think it was no longer worth it. To me, the food is good, and I've never been there and had bad food, but the overall environment, service, prices, and everything else changing made me not want to go there as much anymore. I think the one benefit they have is that they're open fairly late.

    (3)
  • Ben Y.

Friendly service, reasonable prices, and good food. I got the chicken kabob plate and falafels. The falafels were piping hot and extra crispy. The chicken had a nice char to it which kind of sets it apart from most places serving the same type of food. Definitely a solid choice for a work lunch or take out if you are too lazy to cook.

Ohh man this place is awesome. Ordered for Falafel wrap and vegi combo plate both were superb. Its been long time i had good Mediterranean food and i think i m sticking to this place for some time now. A must go place 9/10.

  • Michelle D.

I love this place! Service is fast and friendly and the food is decent to great (sometimes you get awesome meat, sometimes just OK). They get packed at lunch, but keep the line moving and I've always been able to get a table before the food is ready. Parking can be tight at peak lunch, tho. They let you customize the kebab plates (e.g. if you want one chicken and one lamb, just ask) and offer a delicious 'low carb' option that replaces the hummus with babaganoush, removes the pita and rice, increases the size of the salad, and adds a veggie kebab. All for just $2 extra. I'm not following a 'low carb' diet, but really like this option. The salad is more than just iceberg, with some fresh mixed greens added and onions and tomatoes. The veggie kebab is great with onions, tomatoes, zucchini, green pepper, and jalepenos. Always nicely charred. Unlike many mediterranean places, they have fountain drinks with free refills! And they are open early and late every day. Very convenient. Free wifi and big tables. During off hours it's a good place to get some food and some laptop work done.

Tried out Falafel Bite on Fri 7/11/14 with my co-worker. It's about 15 min drive from our work so not that close. It's across the street from Sports Basement and near 24hrs Fitness. I got a small cup of lentil soup which was pretty tasty. The lamb & beef wrap I got I requested no onions. I found the meat pretty dry, but it's a big amount. I ate half for lunch and half for dinner. Needed lots of sauce - hot sauce & tahini to make it taste good to me. They have one unisex bathroom.

Being Lebanese, I am picky when it comes to eating my "own peoples" food, and this place exceeds my expectations. Every since I've found them, I crave their tasty food. Especially they're gyro and toum (garlic spread). I'm super happy to have found this gem in the South Bay, and I'm glad they opened location #2 in Milpitas. Super amazing food and even better service, never been less than satisfied.

Fast service, good food. I've gone a few times to this place and had a feeling that it was good due to the full room and long lines. I opted for the wrap both times and left pretty satisfied. I wouldn't call it the best middle eastern cuisine I've had but it was very good. I will definitely go back and try a plate combo next time. The red and white sauces they have are very tasty and highly recommended!

The food was bland and overcooked. I wouldn't go back if it was given to me for free. Definitely not impressed given the other selections in the area

We wanted to go somewhere else but they were closed. I like that this place was open on Sunday. Service was relatively quick. Their salad came with my meal and it wasn't good because I hate salad with ice burg lettuce and very bad/cheap tomatoes. Other than that, the food was pretty decent. The chicken shawerma kabob that I got was well done and not dry. The hummus was really good. One down side is that they are a bit more expensive than other places. The interior was interestingly painted and I liked the set up where you order your food and then take a seat. This is definitely one of the better places I've gone. I would come back.

Best place ever. Everyone loves this place, even my my vegetarian colleagues. The chicken shawarma is killer; definitely try it!

It's pretty pricey here. I tried the Schwarma wrap and it was just okay. It's close to work though so I may come back if I'm craving mediterranean food but to me there are definitely better options out there. Sometimes I just get spoiled with high expectations from other spots :(.

My alternative Mediterranean place. Their combinations are good but what I don't like is that there's not much to customize in menu.

I came here some years again just driving around craving middle east flavors and I sure was glad I was. I had chicken biryani rice oh my god was it tasty the whole meal was very light and came with yogurt and hummus spread. I actually lost the location of this place and now here I am stumbling upon it again. I must go visit asap and try more.

The falafel here is very good and fresh, and the staff are super friendly. It gets busy at lunch time but that's goes to show how good this place is! Every time I come here it's always a pleasant time and never a disappointment.

I'm really debating on whether this place deserves 2 stars or 3. I work near by so it's a convenient place to eat. That's pretty much all the good stuff I can say about it. We've been here several times and every time, I wish it was better but like life itself, disappointment ensues. The prices are not low, it'll run you $13 for a plate of lamb/beef shawerma and $8 for a roll. Now, if the meat was juicy or the rice was aromatic, then I'd be OK with the price. However the food tastes exactly like the amount of care the cook puts into it, just like how much they care about the cleanness of the place, which is not much. Anyway, I'll be back because of the lack of options, and will be giving my semi hard earned dollars to them.

The food is amazing! I got the combo plate for the first time a couple weeks ago and have been getting it ever since. The hummus is amazing. I want to buy a tub of it and put it on everything! Recently tried the falafel wrap and for $6.99 it is a great steal for a quality bite.

Tried this place first time. Would give it 3.5 really. Lamb was dry and not flavorful. Tabouleh was average. Humus and dessert were real good. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable.

Great food, great options in menu for small and big bites. Baklava is the best I've had so far. Their spicy baked chicken plate was yum. Very lean cooking too. Their plate portions are very sumptuous. And the prices are extremely reasonable. Like our check was not over $22 for two. No doubt will visit again.

4.5 stars This place is popular with the lunch crowd! Get here before noon to avoid the lines and crowds. The popularity is well deserved - the food is excellent! Generous portions, and delicious Mediterranean comfort food. Heaven for vegetarians, vegan, gluten free or low carb folks. The hummus and falafel are so yummy!

Got the beef/lamb shawirma. The portions were huge and the food was amazing. The meat was cooked just right, the rice is on point, and the hummus tastes home made. You have to try the rice pudding dessert, its also very good. Overall, great food and experience.

If you are in for some mediterranean food, then this is the perfect place to stop. Their hose falafel wrap is my favorite. The Chicken shawarma wrap is also equally good. It good for the lunch menu but keep in mind this place gets packed during weekdays. You may end up waiting for longer than you actually take eating your food. The ambience is okay but could be improved for a better in restaurant eating experience.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! they are fast and really good. Their falafel is fresh and crunchy-just-right. Pitas are always fresh and warm. Roasted eggplant and babaganoush are yummy!!! The best part is that it's walking distance from my work. Drooling...

As I got out of my car parked right in front of this restaurant, I smelled...something good. From the outside, the restaurant looks pretty small, but as I opened the door and scanned the room, it was much bigger than I expected. I didn't see many tables filled, but there were customers scattered here and there. There were awesome pictures on the wall, all of the dishes looking quite tasty. I decided to get a falafel wrap, because this place has "falafel" in its restaurant name after all. I noticed a falafel wrap as well as a house falafel wrap, the difference being the latter having eggplant! I got that, and before my first bite, I smelled something burnt. I'm still unsure what it was, but it lingered for a bit. The first taste, besides the smell, was very good though! There was a bit too much white sauce in the wrap though, and the falafels/eggplant weren't evenly spread out. The hot sauce they give is good though! It's not too strong (and not too spicy either), and it complements the wrap very nicely. I wish I asked them to put it in with my food though so I didn't have to take one bite, dump some hot sauce, take another bite, dump more hot sauce throughout my meal. There was too much tortilla/wrap at the end too. Overall a good place to eat, and it's really spacious so it'd be great for big groups! Good food but also a bit expensive; my wrap came out to be $8.16 including tax. I would recommend it if you're in the area, but I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come here. They opened one in Milpitas, which is near where I work, so I'll probably check that location out soon!

One of my favorite neighborhood eatery. Tried many of their wraps - adana, falafel, veggie kabobs, shawarma, gyro... Every one of them was tasty. The wraps are fairly large (long) and make a filling meal. Other plates could be hit or miss. Grandma's chicken and mansaf here are just average. There are better Mediterranean restaurant for a nicer sit down meal but falafel bite is a good place for quick bite.

This is my go to spot post workout, just walking distance from the gym. The food is traditional Lebanese cuisine. Super tasty and a great value. They have TOUM!!! So good. The service is always fast & friendly, they have great recommendations. Got to meet the owner, great personality and excellent customer service.

Amazing food and vegetarian options! The Hummus is the best and the service was quick. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice. They offer carrot and apple as well but they were all out so I'll try those next time.

3.5 stars. Well, needed something quick and it was close-by. The falafel plate was pretty good and the wrap was huge! The murals on the walls were a good attempt to make the place look more personable.

Falafel Bite's deserve 6 stars! 5 stars for the tremendously delicious food and generous portions. +1 extra star for being open until 10pm. We often do not have a choice but to eat late and nearly all restaurants close at 9pm. You are usually stuck with fast food or a greasy diner, but now there is Falafel Bite. We have been twice and the four things we ordered have been so good we were nearly licking the plate. I have had both the chicken Shawarma and beef & Lamp Shawarma, as well as Gyro and a kebab. The plates come with a salad as well as Hummus! They are very generous. There are LOTS of choices for good Mediterranean in Sunnyvale, but Falafel Bite is a top choice for sure! I must mention that they are also the "Pay at counter and food comes to you" style. This is a personal favorite as it means you never wait on a server. When you are done, you leave on your own pace. This style makes it feel a hair less 'fancy' but I actually give it bonus points for this. Ok, 6.5 stars... LOVE THIS PLACE!

As other reviewers mentioned, you can smell the good food from the parking lot. I walked out of the gym and the smell made me go in. I ordered the Gyro wrap and for $7.50 the portion was great. What made this Gyro good was that the lettuce and tomato within the wrap were fresh and crunchy. Points for that. The meat had great seasoning and was plentiful. Definitely come here after the gym. It is healthy on the body and on the wallet!

Ordered a Chicken Shawarma plate here. The hummus which came with the order tasted stale. Chicken was dry and hard to eat. I would not recommend this place.

The falafel wrap (your choice of white or wheat pita filled with -- duh -- falafel, lettuce, tomatoes, and tahini) is good, but certainly not the best I've ever had. It's a tad on the dry side for my taste, but the spicy red sauce makes it better. It's a solid vegetarian option for a quick and simple dinner. And that's about all you can ask for from this joint: it's no-frills, no-nonsense, just Mediterranean and wraps. The ambiance is nothing to write home about, but when the craving for fried chickpea hits, it's pretty on point. The baklava was super sweet; however, when you're feeling indulgent, it'll more than do. Falafel Bite is not on my "must go again" list, but it was a nice late night meal kinda place.

Delicious home made style food! Very authentic and tender chicken fillet, falafel, hummus, and Knafe. Casual atmosphere and a spacious dining area. Highly recommend!

Delicious beef/lamb gyros! The baklava had my friends' eyes light up from delight-- it was their first time trying some. After you order at the counter, they bring your food to your table and it can take about ten minutes for preparation, sooo worth the wait though! My gyro wrap must have been ten inches long. They provide an extra side of cucumber sauce yum and my wrap wasn't spicy at all! If you do prefer spicy food, they have hot sauce. The meat is soft and tender with just the right amount of salt, while the wrap stays warm since it's enclosed by foil paper. Their fries lean toward baby wedge cut and are crisped just right on the outside and mushy on the inside. $7.50 for a gyro wrap isn't bad at all, for fries & a drink added it's ~$10. The baklava isn't too sweet here, $2.99/piece. I had to google the ground green stuff on top, turns out it was pistachio which makes sense because their rice pudding has pistachio on top. Below the pistachio is layer upon layer of baked phyllo hiding the slightly syrupy sweet spot with some ground ingredient I can't recall. I'm definitely going to dine here again and will probably call ahead to bring my coworkers for my birthday lunch soon. I can't believe I hadn't eaten here before!

Another lunch spot tried based on close proximity again, but one of the better options I've had in the area! Might be biased since I like Mediterranean food, but ingredients seemed pretty fresh, portion was good, but slightly pricier than competitors. Going in before 12:30 you can beat the long lunch rush line, and the girl at the register was so soft spoken but nice in answering my questions bout their plates. Went with the shawerma combo plate, which came with chicken and beef, rice, hummus, side salad, and a pita with the plate having little things like garlic spread, pickles, and beets. They have two sauce bottles at each table, and enjoyed the white one but loved the hot sauce. Overall good lunch, but pricier than agape grill at $12 and flavors aren't as bold and portion is smaller. I would get a wrap next time, they looked pretty big and were all under $10. Bottom line: would recommend agape over this place, but this one is walking distance from Fujitsu.

I decided to look up a Mediterranean restaurant located close to my husband's work because I wanted to bring him lunch on his lunch break and I randomly chose this restaurant. I ordered using Eat24 which is great by the way if you want to order takeout without calling- so convenient! When I arrived at the restaurant approx 1245 pm, it was packed and there were all these people socializing on their lunch break. This was reassuring that this place was good and I walked up to the counter and they had my food ready for me. How easy! My husband and I were impressed with the amount of food we received and how much it cost. The hummus was fabulous and I have been craving more of it ever since I ate it. Their rice was great and so was their salads and soups. We had a pretty big order, and it ended up feeding both of us for four meals. My husband asked to return to this restaurant again and this time he wants to feed his office too. We will definitely return. The food was so tasty! I also read they opened a location in Milpitas, I wonder if it is just as good. I guess I will have to find out!

Holy Smokes! This place has an awesome schwarma plate! I would never known about this place if not for my friend who had tried it. The chicken was tender and flavorful, rice solid, salad was okay, hummus was creamy and the little dollop of garlic sauce/cream whatever it is called is amazing. I remember having that at another middle eastern restaurant and it was delicious. Lots of tables, open til 10 pm. Service could have been more friendlier but other than that, the schwarma plate sold me!

close to a 3-3.5 star. we had the shish kabob combo plate - you can chose 2(of lamb, beef, chicken) skewers, comes with bread, rice, humus, salad, tahini n chili sauce. their plates are decently sized- can feed 2 if u arent too hungry.. i thought the kabobs were a little chewy as opposed to juicy - minus -.5 stars. will try somethin different next time - maybe their shawarmas..

Was at Sports Basement in Sunnyvale so decided to give this place a try. We ordered the Falafel plate, beef & lamb shwarma plate a beef gyro. The falafel were okay. They were a bit dense and dry in the middle. The beef and lamb had good flavor but a little greasy. My husband had the gyro and he liked it a lot. He said it was a good manageable sized gyro. Crispy pita with tender meat and just the right amount of vegetable and sauce. Would come back but I'd try the chicken next time.

I love this place! It's a little hole in the wall on Lawrence expressway where the back of the building faces out so all you see is FALAFEL on the wall. The bf and I usually get the chicken shawarma and the beef/lamb mixed shawarma. The plate comes with meat, a salad, rice and a large scoop of hummus. Big portions, I usually only get to half my plate if I'm not sharing. The lamb beef mix is definitely my favorite. It's perfectly seasoned and the lamb doesn't have a strong grassy taste like some places have. The falafels are so crispy when they come out and soft on the inside. You can e Ask for the tzatziki sauce with your plate. They have two kinds, get the cucumber one! This place is great if you're going vegetarian and looking for non meat alternatives. There is plenty of seating if you want to dine in, but usually we like to order to go and drive the two minutes home. I want to try the kabobs the next time I go, I heard they're BOMB!

Awesome! Totally stumbled on this place while at the Ham Radio Outlet next door. They found out it was my first time here and gave me a falafel, baklava and terrific yogurt / cucumber drink that was unique and amazing, all for free. Food was unbelievable. Coming back here for sure.

My husband loves the gyros and I really like the chicken dishes that come with rice and pita and a salad. The chicken thigh one is really good.. Not sure of the name. The hot sauce on the table is really good. The pita was okay wish it was a little softer. The service is okay not anything memorable. They take your order at the front and bring you your food there's really no interaction to rate. This place gets crazy busy during lunch time so plan ahead.

Pretty good stuff. I came in before work one day to grab lunch to go and got the veggie plate that came with falafel, pita, tabouleh, hummus and I think a salad. The food took a little bit longer than expected but they had just opened and I was their first customer so I think they were still setting up the kitchen. The woman helping me was really nice and offered me some tea while I was waiting. The quality of food was pretty good too. The falafels were just about as good as I've had them anywhere else and so was the rest of my meal. I would definitely grab food here again if I was on my way into work and couldn't make it all the way over to falafels drive in :]

I went to this place with my co-workers. It was good and everybody seems to enjoy their food. I ordered hummus, rice, & kafta kebab. The kabab was tasty, also they have really good garlic french fries. The price was reasonable too. The only thing was the place wasn't fancy but the food, price, and customer service was good. I will go again and recommend it.

Nice mom & pop restuarant. Spacious and has a calm atmosphere at night when you walk in. The best part of this place is their desert Walnut Baklava; which I was trying for the first time. It tastes great! Reminded me of a mix between an apple turnover and a cinnamon bun.

Although we made an order through doordash and experienced a slight mixup on what was actually received versus paid for, when I called to rectify the mixup, the owner Summer was very helpful and responsive to my concerns. They agreed to refund the amount for the the items that weren't delivered and the food delivered was quite delicious. Having used doordash several times before with no experience like this, I'm comfortable noting the issue was likely with the restaurant but regardless, the customer service and delicious factor of food received, makes it worth trying again!

Saturday night dinner was a big disappointment. I've eaten here before and haven't been this disappointed. The falafels were very oily and lacked flavor. The sauces were extremely bland. Hummus from the grocery store tastes better than the hummus we had on our plate. Post meal we even felt a bit sick. I don't see myself going back there again. Would not recommend at all.

This is a very good, authentic café/restaurant. The place is small and local, which is nice. The employees give off a semi- "soup Nazi" vibe, but it's not terrible. Just when it's rush hour, they don't really have any patience. Know what you want when you get to the front of the line. The quality of the food is fantastic. I've had the Gyros and the Chicken Skewers before... both are highly recommended. The spices on the meats are delicious. The only issue I have with here is that they keep raising the prices. Two months ago, the Gyro meal cost $7 - now it's 9. I understand they get a lot of business, but there's other great Mediterranean places which have lower prices in the area. Overall, I recommend the food... but be ready to question how much it costs.

Portions, portions, portions! This place is constantly reducing their portions. I was here a week ago and you could see the dish being empty when served. I still enjoy the flavor, but will be taking my dinners elsewhere until they figure out what went wrong!

Fast service if you order to go. I came here to order food after 7pm on a weekday and I thought it would be super packed. It was pretty much empty except for the three guys who ordered before me. There is ample seating and a TV playing towards the entrance. Clean. I ordered a falafel plate and I can't finish it in one sitting. It comes with chopped lettuce, tomato and slices of pickle salad, hummus and 5 falafels. And 4 warm pitas wrapped in foil came with the plate. I also ordered pistachio baklava. Really good! But kinda oily on the bottom. I'd come here again if I'm craving falafel. I have no complaints about this place.

I was craving for some falafels so me and the Canadian decided to peep this place out. We had a restaurant.com coupon for this place we've been sitting on for awhile so it seemed like a good idea. What I swallowed: VEGGIE COMBO PLATE: Four falafels, two dolmas, hummus, baba ghanouj, and tabbouleh. The falafels were crunchy and hot and had a good flavor. The dolmas were ok and juicy. The hummus had a really smokey flavor to them and he baba ghanouj was really tarty. I think I would have just been happy with the falafels and the hummus. yelp.com/biz_photos/kFI4… NAMURA: Wasn't sure what to expect of this dessert. It was almost like a coconuty corn meal slice of dry cake. It was an interesting experience but it wasn't my cup of tea. This place was alright and glad we tried it. We had a restaurant.com coupon so it was nice to get a discount. The owner was really nice and gave us free pitas to take home with my leftover falafels. Not sure if we'd be back tho.

I should start by staying I have only ever had takeout from this restaurant. My mom lives near by and often picks up food from here when I come to visit. I am a vegan and the rest of my family enjoys their meat so this is the perfect compromise. I can have my falafel and they can get their chicken or lamb wraps and we can all share the hummus and the baba. I have never been disappointed.

Delicious, authentic Mediterranean food. So flavorful and filling. Staff is very friendly too and the place is clean. Many middle eastern families frequent this place so you know it is true to heart. Almost feels like you are eating at someones home. We are from the east bay and SF and it's worth the drive.

Came here with my coworker for lunch and wanted to try this place out. Really crowded and long lines during lunch time. Everything looked promising. Good: Friendly service, extensive menu, saffron rice. Bad: -The person delivering your food is the same one wiping the tables. -The cup that I used for water smelled like it was wiped with an old cloth. -I ordered the lamb kabob plate. The lamb was, overcooked, dry and lukewarm. Looks pre-cooked and then reheated. The salad & humus that comes with is is ordinary. The best part of the meal was the saffron rice. -The restaurant is loud. -By far, the worst part is that while we were eating, people stood in the aisles waiting for an open table. Nothing worse than looking up to see a pair of eyes on you and your food waiting for you to leave. We stayed about 30 mins at most but experienced 3 creepy set of eyes looking continuously our way. One guy finally stood 2 feet in front of our table and just waited there. After a minute, we looked at each other, looked at our food, then looked at him and got up. He immediately sat down... Parking is horrendous during lunchtime. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing... but I feel there are much better places around.

Drove by this restaurant and decided to give it a try. The cashier was very kind and patient with my friend and I (we didn't know what to order). We ended up ordering the garlic fries, chicken plate and the prawn kabob. The humus was excellent! The chicken was very juicy, and the prawns exquisite! Our cashier/ server/ busser was very helpful. He was doing a great job multitasking. Definitely recommend it!

I come here once in a while because their food is def good. We had heard great things about Falafel Bites, but it was a really disappointing meal. We ordered the chicken shwarma wrap and it was soupy and yogurty. My son ordered the lamb kabobs, which were overcooked. Most importantly, the two young women at the cash register were rude and snobby. They were giggling the whole time I placed my order and did not seem very focused at their work. We definitely won't return to this place!

I ordered the togo over the phone. When I reached there 15 mins later, my ordered was taken incorrectly. While I was waiting there for my order to be prepared, the lovely lady at the counter sent me a free baklava. That was really nice of her. As always, the food was delicious. I've never been disappointed by the food and people here. **4.5 stars **

  • Elise G.

The best Baba ghanoush I've ever had. It was smokey and they texture was light and creamy. The chicken shawerma was moist and even had marbles of fat in it, unlike other places I've been where it's dry and white meat only. I still haven't had better hummus that tops Falafel Bite's. The shawerma chicken salad had pickled veggies in it and was tangy and delicious. Get the dressing on the side if you're ordering for pickup so your leaves will stay crispy. The portions are generous and justify the price. Call ahead if you're picking up food. Sometimes there's a line and a bit of a wait.

The decision between four and five stars was a bit difficult, but at the end of the day, this is more of a four and a quarter star place. Sometimes the gyros, fries, and meats are absolutely amazing - fresh, crisp, and huge. The other times, well... The staff (especially the lady up front) are very nice and professional. The waiting time is not too long, and overall the restaurant had a very ambient and clean look and feel to it. Note that if you do come in lunch times at Friday, it's super busy. I find the best time to come in is towards the evening or the weekends. Still, on a good day (which is ~70% of the time), their gyros and plates are second only to Zamzam down in Fremont (though, to be fair, all gyros are second to that place).

First, I would appreciate if these guys started using less 'filler' (unchewable) stuff in their 'shawerma' meat. For this reason i do not for for these types of meat. Second, when i order the Mansaf I want the lamb shank; not some unknown cut of meat that have been thrown in and covered up with sauce. I'm still craving what i had the first time with some hot sauce. But feel like I've been screwed when I've ordered it after that. Third, I do like the chicken shish plate and Lamb gyro is alright. The thing i do love is their garlic sauce and their hummus is good as well. Order safe and you'll be ok. But I want more thank ok for these guys and my own sake.

This place is a hidden gem! My fiance and I usually get some kind of wrap. I usually get the beef and lamb wrap. I think both the wrap and gyro are both great. Most recently, my fiance and I tried the lamb skewer wrap and it was BOMB! I can't believe we got good lamb for $8 and it wasn't gamey in the least bit! I think the food, pricing, and service are great, and it will remain one of those spots I am loyal to.

Stumbled upon this place and decided to try it because it was packed during the lunch rush. Ordered the chicken shawarma wrap and it was really good. Flavorful, filling and a good quick lunch. The white and red sauces were a great punch of flavor too. Will def go back to try their other dishes too.

Chicken dishes over here are cooked really well. It is tender and well marinated. My favorite dish is chicken fillet. The portions are quite large and highly satiating. Arabic tea is quite refreshing over here.

Since I go to so many Middle Eastern Restaurants I have decided to create a rubric to review these joints to make life a little more easy for myself and you my dear reader. Meat: 4 stars. I ordered the Shawerma which was very nice and juicy and definitely the highlight of the meal. The meat could have been little more tender though. Salad: 2 Stars. Lacking in aesthetics and taste. Thoroughly uninspired. Rice: 2 Stars Hummus: 2 Stars. Mediocre. Over all Assessment: Don't waste your money or real estate in your mouth here.

Upgrade time! We dropped in last night and found out they have new owners. I ordered the lamb shewerma, $7.99 and it was ready in ten minutes. The quality has taken a turn for the better: the meat is succulent and juicy- tastes just carved. Everything else, from the veggies to the wrap was fresh and good. Although, it's a bit smaller, the quality has gone up and I like quality !!! My friend ordered the Gyro and said it was good tasting. I saw it and it looked v. fresh. Customer service: friendly. Decor: humble and clean.

Had dinner with 2 friends on a Sunday night when it was nearly empty. Food was good, service was quick but not impressive, There are many things in the menu and all looked good. I tried the veggie platter, and friends tried lamb and chicken kebabs. We also tried the garlic fries - which was heavenly (a must order). The decor is generic with a faux wall, and cafeteria grade furniture. Good place to visit for middle eastern food at a reasonable price.

This place is a total hole in the wall, but the food is pretty damn tasty. In particular--and maybe this isn't surprising given their name--the felafel is moist and delicate which is a great change from the all-too-often dried out hard nubs you can get. I also got the chicken shawarma which was really tasty and I prefer it over the much easier to find chicken gyro or chicken souvlaki. All in all, this place was great and inexpensive for a quick bite to eat as long as you don't feel the need to have a fine dining environment.

We called to place an order for pick-up during the lunch rush hour last Friday afternoon. My colleague asked for enough food to feed 10 people yet when she arrived back to the office with the food there was only 1 order of each item. I quickly called the restaurant back and spoke to Summer whom apologized for the misunderstanding and put a rush on another order to serve 10 people to ensure it would be ready to have me pick up. I left the office to go pick-up the order and when I arrived they were just finishing up. An employee was kind enough to offer to help me to my car and the owner, Summer was very apologetic for the confusion with the original order. Yes, it was inconvenient to have to go pick up food twice from the same place to get the order, but the amazing customer service will keep us coming back in the future. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend this business! Thank you Summer for making it right! Next time we will use your delivery service for only $10 extra!

The meat is all good. Those kabobs have that nice rubbery-juicy-grilled thing going on that you find at the top notch middle eastern joints. The salads are tasty. The baba and hummus are fine. The pita are warm and soft (at first....you know how that goes). The condiments work. The dining hall is uninviting and always crowded, but you can always time it right by eating late! The girl taking your order is friendly, with her impossibly high pitched voice. All of that makes for a solid lunch and apparently most folks agree. So go early....or late!

Excellent, Tasty Fresh food! prices are very reasonable! The place could use more ventilation /fresh air & it would be nice if they could clean the tables more often... but their food & customer sevice has been excellent!!!!

This place is behind the 24 hour fitness on Lawrence Expressway, if I hadn't accidentally seen it when I got lost from trying to find iChaat Cafe the night before...I would have likely gotten lost (and accidentally come across iChaat cafe). I came here on account of my restaurant.com coupon....I was excited about the paperless app but when I arrived, the cashier refused my coupon because I decided to go green and didn't print it out. Guess they're behind the times....I had to pay the full amount (which was about $24) with the expectation that I was going to get my $10 discount. Not a good start. Atmosphere was super chill with what the Mediterranean scened murals and bright lights. Order at the counter, grab your number and the food is brought to your table. There are some really good choices when it comes to drinks: canned soda or fountain? Water or lassi (yogurt based drinks)? I hear the yogurt drink is not that great, I think it was too sour...just watered down plain yogurt. There is a mango lassi version...didn't hear great things about that one either. We ordered the chicken shewarma plate and the chicken biryani (which is basically the chicken shewerma with chilli flakes and rice where the hummus should be). Chicken was pretty tender, hummus was the way I like it (con-caved with olive oil in the middle...mmm). Portions were big so two plates was more than enough for my party of 3. Tried the baklava for dessert...not really too different from the baklava I get from the local desi grocery store. Ate my food. Left full. Service was good (after the initial, no-you-cannot-use-your-coupon incident). Everyone is quick and respectful behind the counter. All in all, good chill place to fill your tummy. I'd recommend it for a chill dinner, lunch or a larger family outing.

  • Abhinay K.

This is the place where we come over very frequently for grabbing falafel wrap and the chicken kabobs. Chicken is nice and juicy and falafels are good. They have recently hiked the prices slightly but it's worth every penny....I have been to some of the falafel places around which are a bit pricey and some of these even charge for the hot sauce/ tahini or else they give in small cups...

    (4)
  • Michael O.

I love the vegetarian options here; haven't tried any meat items. Excellent falafel, delicious veggie plate. One complaint: veggie items can take longer in the kitchen. If you want food to-go or you are in a hurry, call ahead.

    (4)
  • Kevin N.

It's an okay place... The food wasn't as good as I thought it would be and the place can be a bit dirty. Not only that it's prices aren't really worth the food quality. Might've just been me, but would not go here again.

I visited the place while on a trip to Sunnyvale. The Food is really tasty and the prices are very affordable. I tried the chicken Shawarma and it is great. The place is not fancy. But you get more in food than what you pay for compared to other falafel places around the area.

Koobideh plate is the best thing I've tried on their menu. The restaurant would be cozy if not for the fluorescent lights, but it is a nice pit stop for a quick lunch or dinner.

Hands down the best Chicken Shawerma wraps in the bay area! I usually get the Chicken Shawerma wrap with extra garlic/hot sauce and pickled turnips - absolutely delicious! Their chicken skewers and lentil soup are also good.

Hummus is especially delicious and passed The Hummus Test by extremely picky Hummus Expert from Israel in our office, so you know its good :) I order lunch for our office every day and this is one of the few places I can rest assured everyone enjoys the food and will not complain! Delivery is extremely reliable also. Very happy to have discovered them.

Yes it's me.. Ms. I'll never find a place with a decent Shwerma like my beloved Med Wraps in Palo Alto... Well I did and so happy that is is closer to home. Happed in here for lunch and wow, the wraps are certainly yummy and you get your money worth for sure! I mean I was in heaven with this more than enough wrap, friendly staff and ESPN to boot on the flatscreen. A bit of heaven for sure:) I can't wait to take my other half here so we can try out the biryani, the turkish coffee, etc. Weekday lunch, walk over if you can as with the popular restaurants in this strip mall hub, PARKING IS WAR!..

Just found my new favorite falafel place in Sunnyvale. The hummus comes with the chicken plate which is a huge bonus because a lot of places charge extra for that. Great place and even better food!

  • Terri V.

I had the fortune to dine here a couple weeks back. It located in a small strip center with plenty of parking. Order at the counter and they bring your food out to you. I had the Chicken Kabob plate and it was moist, and very flavorful. A big portion of food, included rice, and fresh tasting humus. Humus had a drizzle of olive oil leaving me wanting more. Also, had a side of Falafel balls and they were tender, fresh and full of flavor. I finished with a baklava for desert. It was lunch time and the line went out the door. The friendly staff got through that line in no time and my food was delivered quickly. I would go back again next time I'm in the area.

I've always lived so close to here, but never considered coming to this area to eat. Boy, have I missed out. Falafel bite is downright badass, with some of the best Middle Eastern food I've had since my trip to Turkey. Digging straight in: - Veggie Combo: 4 falafels, 2 dolmas, hummus, baba ghanouj, tabbouleh & turnips. What else do you need for an appetizer platter? The falafels were fricken amazing. Perfectly crunchy on the outside, and nice and moist on the inside. The one thing I hate about falafels is when they're too dry, but this place did them just right. The dolmas and tabbouleh were very fresh and you can tell they were just prepared. - Kafta: Your typical minced meat kebab served with rice, salad and hummus. Very well prepared and full of flavor. Tons of delicious rice, very fresh salad, and tasty hummus. - Beef & Chicken Combo Shish Kabob: Like the kafta, also very well seasoned and grilled to perfection. Comes with the same delicious sides. - Mansaf: Lamb cooked in aged yogurt, served with rice, lavash bread, topped with roasted almonds. This was what sealed the deal for me. For $14, you get a generously sized lamb shank, tenderly and evenly cooked to the bone, bursting with flavor. On top of that, it's covered in their delicious yogurt. The rice is some of the best I've had in a while, and they give you a shitload of it. - Knafeh: Always my favorite dessert at any Middle Eastern restaurant. Upon my first bite, it tasted like crap. Then I realized they give you the syrup on the side. Once I poured that on, the flavors just started rushing through. Loads of tangy cheese and plenty of crunchy nuts make it a dessert to remember. - Namura: Not the best thing I've tasted, but pretty decent. Pretty much a coconut honey cake. Overall, Falafel Bite was just downright awesome. Everything was screaming with flavor, and wonderfully and generously prepared. With a restaurant.com certificate, it was even better. The owner is a very warm and welcoming Lebanese guy.

So GOOD. Try their spicy chicken wrap! This place was recommended to me by my co-worker and now it's my go-to place every time i'm in the area for lunch. The place usually gets pretty packed around lunch on weekdays so try to beat the rush. I haven't yet tried their plates, but they look delicious. It makes my mouth water every time I picture the food in my mind.

Worst garlic fries ever. Soggy, mushy, under salted, not even hot. $4 for a bottle of sparkling apple cider. Are you kidding me? Shawarma wrap was decent, the wrap we a bit papery though...don't think we will come back. Overpriced for under average food. :(

  • Nirenjan K.

Falafel Bite is yet another Middle Eastern restaurant that manages to stand out among the crowd. The service isn't necessarily fast, but the food is definitely quite good. My usual bites here are the lentil soup (if I'm not too hungry), the falafel plate, and the yogurt drink. The soup is always hot, and perfectly seasoned - it comes with a side of pita, but it is quite simple, so don't expect anything fancy here. The falafel is always good, although it is a bit oddly shaped for the typical falafel. The yogurt drink is also freshly made, rather than the bottled stuff, and you can taste the difference. Definitely one of my spots to hit on the way back from a late night at work, especially since they are open till 10pm.

  • Natalie L.

I had the chicken shawarma plate and wasn't impressed. The chicken wasn't that great. The hummus tasted a bit weird like bananas. I know. WTF. I want to like this place because it's really close to my work and easy to pop in for something quick. I will give this place another try and order something different...

  • Anu M.

I have been going to Falafel Bite for a long time and it is about time I update my review to give credit to the food and service. The ambiance is not enticing, so I normally prefer to take home food. My husband and I usually buy one entree to share and the large portion leaves us on a full stomach. I have tried their Dolmas, Lamb Shawarma Plate, Chicken Shawarma Plate, Adana Kafta and Shish Kabob Lamb Plate. The plates come along with rice, salad, pita bread and hummus and the rice is always cooked to perfection. However, I am not a big fan of their meat wraps. My all time favorite here are their walnut baklavas. So crispy, soft and in short, heavenly! These are the best baklavas that I have had by far.

  • Jen C.

Presentation of the place- This place is not that attractive from outside, however once you arrived inside, there are nice murals- painted of Mediterranean feel, and has huge television in the front of the place. Even though the place with nice walls, you can tell it is more for quick dine in for lunch. Well, originally my co-worker and I were planning to go to the Thai restaurant next to it , but they closed. We ended up try this place, I like my gyro wrap and not so much of the mint yogurt drink. My co-worker ordered a lamb plate, which she enjoyed eating. The portion size is big for us ladies.

Solid halal option in Sunnyvale where there are very few choices nearby. Food is workmanlike but adequate. No complaints. But nothing to write home about either

I love trying different versions of gyros and Falafel Bite's version was just how I like it. Fresh tomatoes, crispy fresh lattuce, and perfectly tangy cucumber taziki sauce. The wrap was fresh and slightly crispy not overly chewy. You cannot miss out on the killer pistachio baklava either. Its about $2.50 per piece which is on the expensive side.... but you will not regret indulging.

I wouldn't care about décor or ambience if food is this nice even though I would have wanted the place to be a tad appealing but boy ! when it comes to food this place is one of the best. My favorites would be chicken shawarma(spicy),falafel wrap, Grandma prawns (if I have time to wait for order) end with the in house mint yogurt drink. Best falafel place around

    (4)
  • Crystal O.

Everything I had was terrific! The only thing I will ding them for on this review is that their dolmas come from a can. Everyone does this so I didn't take a point off. Their tabouli was perfect!!! I had the veggie combo plate. Very generous portions. I couldn't finish it all.

What a great restaurant! The service was awesome even during the lunch rush. Summer, owner, recommended Grandma's plate and it was delicious....a Lebanese dish, but I tasted a hint of Thai, (chicken ref bell peppers, and basil over rice). very yummy! The desserts were equally tasty and the hot tea w fresh mint was icing on the cake. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I was in a mood for some good mediterranean food and we just stopped by this place cos we saw this from the Lawrence expwy. We were so delighted to have found such a nice place. We ordered a House Falafel Wrap and Chicken Shewerma plate. The flavors were amazing. I had been to another nice place and wondered why they made this dish so dry. This place rectified that mistake. Totally loved it. Eggplant in the wrap was so yumm! We are definitely going back to try more!

I'll love to return here. It has good food and 'just fine' sitting area. I ordered gyro plate for myself and a chicken fillet plate for my wife. I added extra gyro for $3 as well. The quantity of meat was better than other places but I would have given it a 5-star if they gave a little more meat :) .. all in all a good place to go.

grabbed thee GRAND-MA CHICKEN yesterday. Its basically an eastern-inspired family receipe, according to the owner. It was basically a stir fry over a bed of rice, spiced with serano peppers. it was really good. i ordered the Chicken Kebab Wrap Traditional and the Lamb Shawerma Traditional for my boyfriend and his friend, they said it was really on point with its authenticity which is cool, and they ended up going back there today. Oveall, this place is a diamond in the rough. The staff is friendly and its a very casual environment. The staff always encourages people to call-in their orders which is considerate and overall smart idea to reduce wait time. much recommended!

I keep coming back to this place not only because its convenient but ultimately the food is good. Today I ordered a meat wrap (Lamb and Beef) to go. I got it back to my place and it was still hot (temperature). They also included the spicy red sauce and some other white yogurt like sauce. (Not tzatziki sauce)

I recently went there for a late breakfast ordered the falafel and its side plate of rice. The falafel was very delicious fresh I will definitely go there again for the same place definitely give them a try. They seem to have a good variety of food falafel was all I ordered.

My avocado was hard. Enough said. Just kidding, here's some constructive criticism for this falafel joint: When a customer asks to have avocado added into their wrap, don't just make sure you have avocado, but make sure you have ripe-and-yummy avocado ready to go. A few bites into my veggie wrap I crunched down on something bitter. I looked down at my wrap in horror to decipher what I just put in my mouth. It was the avocado, clearly in the early stages of its ripening. For the gal or guy who must have cut that avocado like an apple, realize that it is most important to have QUALITY food. I would appreciate you admitting your avocados have not reached edible maturity, so I can rest assured that my food experience is considered. That will bring customers back.

***4.5 stars*** i was craving chicken and mediterranean food, and since i was nearby, decided to pick up something to go. i ordered: *chicken shawerma wrap ($6.50) - took this to go, and was pleasantly surprised to find that when i arrived at my destination, the food was still warm! they gave me a LOT of chicken, a LOT of veggies, and rolled it into a HUGE lavash wrap. normally, i'd cut this in half, and eat the other part later, but i couldn't resist, it was so good! very tasty and seasoned very well. only complaint is that they put a bit too much dressing/sauce in the wrap, which made the chicken and veggies a bit soggy. *coconut namura ($2.50) - since i had to wait for them to make the wrap (fresh!) i asked to have the dessert on the spot, since i was starving. oh this was delish! i loved every bite of coconut, honey, nuts, and whatever else was in this square of yummy mediterranean goodness. very happy with the customer service as well. the gentleman who took my order answered several of my very detailed questions about the menu and he also brought the namura dessert to me on a plate when i asked for it right away. tasty food, great service, and low prices. what's not to like? if my wrap wasn't soggy, i'd give it a 5 for sure. i will be back for more of their mediterranean yummy-goodness!

First time here. Went for lunch. Loved it! Great low carb option with baba ghanoush and veggie skewer instead of rice and pita. Chicken was really good. Says "juicy" right on the menu. Not that dry stuff white people like.

  • Sonya M.

This place seems to be very popular for lunch with the "working professionals" crowd. I came here for lunch with a group of 6 total and we had a hard time getting a table. Once you order, they give you a number, and then it's your luck if you can grab a table right when someone finishes eating and leaves. I tried the chicken shawerma wrap and it was just okay. The sauces they have on the table gave it some flavor, but on it's own it was a bit plain. We had to ask to get our table cleared off and the service isn't particular fast considering it's lunch time and most people have to rush back to work. Overall, not bad, but nothing special either.

    (3)
  • Japna S.

The food here is really good. Super tasty. I get the veggie combo plate (falafel, hummus, baba ganouj) for $11.95 and shawarma. They now have a combo lamb and beef shawarma which is great too. The only thing I don't like is that prices are high for veg items which doesn't make much sense when you compare to non veg items. Service is a little slow so try to call or order in ahead of time

By far the best Mediterranean food you can ever dream of in South Bay. Totally worth it.

  • Kailey O.

The vegetarian options are awesome. I got the veggie plate. I wasnt sure what some of the stuff was, but it all tasted awesome. If you don't like parsley, then that isn't the dish for you. The decor is cheesy, but whatevs. The bathroom is confusing- there is one door with a Male Female sign, which seems like its only one bathroom, but there is a separate mens and womens bathroom inside that door. why do restaurants that have food you eat with your hands insist on supplying those paper thin napkins that you need 20 of throughout your meal. just give me one durable napkin and i won't need to waste a bunch. (taquerias are also to blame for this). Overall I was quite satisfied, and would come here again (it's very convenient if you have time before you need to take caltrain)

Being from out of town, I was looking for a Subway (pretty consistent) but was pleasantly surprised to find this joint. Locals seemed to love it (it was packed for lunch) and with reason... I had the vegetarian combo plate which was the perfect blend of healthy and not-so-healthy (ie, falafel) vegetarian cuisine. Tasted great! This spot is a must hole-in-the-wall!

Advertised as open at 10am, but they refused to serve us at 10:08 claiming they do not open till 10:30. Note to owner: keep your word and open on time or we can't trust you.

  • Jay Y.

I loved this place. My favorite's vegetarian's falafel. The staff was very kind to explain what they have and how the things like. Okay. I am just talking about the other cuisine in the world. I think this type of food is popular all around the world. The wrapper has different names though, like taco or naan. Sometimes it can be seaweed instead of bread such as maki or kimbap.

Went late in the evening and ordered a Falafel wrap, some lentil soup and fries. The food came relatively quickly -- the fries were thinly sliced, delicious and crispy. I have never eaten fries so good. Things began to go downhill from here : the lentil soup was awful -- it lacked taste entirely, and tasted like a lifeless paste; the Falafel wrap was similarly insipid with the Falafels steeped in oil but otherwise lackluster. I am not sure how this place received such high praise from others.

    (1)
  • Amy O.

I agree with Flor, I don't like their falafel here. But, I do like their gyro, hummus, and fries. They stay open past 9pm on the weekends which is hard to find in Sunnyvale. The gyro wrap special comes with a sizeable gyro wrap, several fries, and a fountain drink for $9.99. Pretty good deal. The food is not greasy, the service is nice, and the food is pretty dang good. I am happy we found this place. We walked up and ordered for to go, they told us 15 minutes, but it easily came out in 10.

The food never disappoints. The eating area could definitely use some updating but the staff are always pleasant and it's pretty quick to get your order brought to your table. Lunch is always packed, but worth the short wait.

  • Christy L.

My first time here, and I liked the fact that they had pictures of their dishes. They all looked good! I wasn't feeling like a rice plate, so I went with a chiken shawerma wrap. (It's set up like a fast food place: you have to order at the counter, and you'll get a number that you take to your choice of table. When the wrap came out, I was like "whoa, that's huge." Wrap was filling and good. I wouldn't mind coming back to try more of their food. Perhaps next time I'll try the wrap in its spicy option. :)

This place has now become my go to place for Mediterranean food. Their shawarma is always spot on. The flavors are great. My personal favorite is the grandmas chicken and mansaf! We moved to a different city but will still drive here to eat their awesome food!!

I work nearby on Arques Ave and a colleague told me that they can make spicy veggie wraps. Yesterday I ordered two veggie falafal wraps to go. One spicy and other regular. On reaching home (after 20 mins), I found that both were pretty same in taste. tahini and hot sauce provided with wraps were good but I expected to see some difference in both wraps since I ordered that way. FALAFAL STOP on Sunnyvale Saratoga Rd is still my fav falafal shop. Except taste and variety this place is better than FALAFAL STOP on every other parameter.

We accidentally found this little place and what a pleasant little surprise. Not excellent, but definitely good food. I did really enjoy the gyros. The baklava was pretty dry, but if you aren't after good baklava, this place is worth popping in. The lady running the restaurant when we came in was very helpful and unphased by the special requests of our daughter- an essential characteristic in my book.

There are quite a few places in the South Bay to grab shawarma, falafel, wraps, etc. I've been here a few times, at a friend's request, but this place just doesn't do it for me. The food is okay. Not great, but not the worst I've had either. The chicken has been dry or burnt on most visits, the salads were over dressed (the lettuce leaves were wilted which tells me that they have been sitting around in the dressing for quite some time) and the falafel sit in my stomach like balls of lead every time I eat them. My friend seems to love the food here and doesn't share my experiences, but I prefer Robee's or Dish Dash. The wraps are pretty good and I would recommend them over some of the other dishes. The sauces are a definite must, especially the spicy one. Portions are pretty big and prices are very reasonable for what you get with each order. Service is okay - you order at the counter, they give you a number to display and the food is delivered to you. Parking can get tight during lunch rush hours.

I used to come here all the time, until about 4 years ago due to employer change and location change. They used to be House of Falafel. Ordered the Chicken Shawerma Wrap, good flavor and presentation, but kind of light on filling and no tahini on the inside. Dry as a salad without dressing...ugh. So, I had to use that little cup of tahini they give you on every bite...ugh. For the same price I can get a way more substantial wrap at the House of Falafel on Stevens Creek Blvd. I saw a few Gyro Wraps come out and they looked killer and solid. I think I'll try that, next time.

The sign outside says House of Falafel, in case you guys get as confused as I did! My sister and I decided to split a chicken shawerma wrap and a greek salad. I told her I was reaaallllyyy hungry and if she was sure just half a wrap would fill me up. She rolled her eyes and said, "Don't worry." Holy cow. Their wraps are HUGE! Like, two burritos end-to-end huge, and all for just $7. Geez, I barely finished my half. It's not exactly stuffed full of ingredients though, so hey, it's not impossible to finish one yourself. The wrap itself was pretty dry to me, so I had to drench it with a ramekin of yogurt sauce. The chicken shawerma was delicious though! I was having a really strange craving for feta, so the salad did not disappoint. Filled with bell peppers, cucumbers, and huge chunks of feta cheese, the salad satisfied my craving just fine :)

This place is fantastic. I am originally Lebanese, and this place serves the most authentic Lebanese food that I've had in the bay area. FOOD: Authentic Lebanese. Delicious, healthy, with the right sized portions. SERVICE: Family owned. Excellent service. You do have to order at the counter and they will deliver the food to your table which makes this place more of a lunch place. For a lunch place, this is a 5 star restaurant. AMBIANCE and DECOR: Beautiful murals on the wall most likely of a Lebanese hillside. The important thing about the design here is that the design is cohesive. Everything works together for a lunch place. It is not designed for a dinner date with linens and candles. It is designed for the working class to grab a bite during lunch or after a workout. PRICE; The price point is just right. An average price of 7 dollars for a wrap, or 11 dollars for a plate. For the quality and service of this food, the price is just right. The only negative is that they have a TV on the wall which is always a negative point at any restaurant except for a sports bar. But it works because it's what the general populous wants. I highly recommend this place.

Came here for lunch today to meet up with some Ex-coworkers. Not sure why it's called full-awful, but now i know why. I ordered the Chicken Kabob because they told me the "Grandma's Chicken" wasn't ready. How could "Today's Special" not be ready? I told them they should have named it "Later Today's Special". It was already 12:10pm! Even though I ordered last, I actually got my food first. I was kinda disappointed for what my $11 got me. A small strip of chicken that was about 7 inches long by about 1.5 inches, some rice, a small salad, and a scoop of hummus. Where's the beef? Ok I ordered chicken, but still! I was still hungry after my "Full-awful bite". It wasn't horrible, but it certainly wasn't satisfying. I wasn't impressed with my meal today as I sit here munching on popcorn and Yelping.

GREAT!!! I have eaten almost everything on their menu. I love their shwarma and falafel. They dont use a traditional pita wrap, but some other type bread that is excellent. Why I like it is because you get to taste the food inside, rather than it being real "bready". Their sauces, both white tahini and hot, are flavorful and perfectly balanced. The only thing I dont like, which has nothing to do with them, is the parking in this complex is very poor. However, if you are lucky enough to get a spot or go on an off time, your stomach will be absolutely delighted.

Falafel Bite is just something else!! The place is actually very clean and roomy. The service is great and the workers are super friendly. But more importantly, the Chicken Shawerma Wrap is TO DIE FOR!! No exaggeration, this wrap is absolutely out of this world. If you've never tried it, TRY IT. And if you don't like it private message me and i'll personally buy you lunch to make up for it! No joke! It's on-point!!

The falafel wrap I had here was decently sized and pretty good. Nothing amazing. I really liked the pistachio baklava. As this is in business district central, I kind of wish the food came out just a bit quicker. We all gotta run back to work! If I return, I'll probably call ahead for take out.

I convinced a friend at work to try something new, and we came to Falafel Bite. I had the beef & lamb schwarma wrap, she had the chicken schwarma wrap. I was beyond pleased, and she would gush about it, take a bite, savor, swallow, and gush some more. Everything tasted fresh. The spices where fantastic (and didn't come across as strange to an American palate. Not sure if the food is Americanized or if it just uses non-threatening spices. Either way: delicious.) The cashier did miss my coffee order, but the server apologized and offered to get me a coffee anyway - no charge. (also of note - Turkish Coffee is different than a cup of black. It's a small cup, like espresso. Also it was spiced with something - perhaps cinnamon?) Afterwards, we got an order of baklava and headed back to work. And made plans to drag more coworkers tommorow. Also, come early to beat the lunch rush. By the time we where done eating, the line was nearly to the door and there was hardly a free table in the dining room.

I often come here out of convenience. Although it is not my #1 choice it's not bad. The prices are good and they have a nice selection of eats to choose from. I love the veggie kabob or veggie platter, both are about 8$ and enough food. My largest complaint is that they are slow. It doesn't seem to matter what time of day, if it is take out or eat in, it always seems to take a long time. The falfel isn't the best in the area, and it is funny looking (long not round). Will come back, but given the choice might try some place else.

This is one of our regular lunch spots, the food is flavorful and fresh. So we decided to cater our daughter's graduation dinner; rice, hummus, falafel, lamb and beef shawerma tray, and chicken kobabs. Food was delivered on time, was set-up beautifully, and it was delicious. There was plenty of food and all the leftovers were grabbed by the guests. Thank you Falafel Bite for a great event.

Hey. Falafel bite has great tasty food. I have seen big get together planned also here. Will sure recommend this place to anyone. I tried 3 or 4 different dishes out there and all were good. Choice is less than expected overall but I don't care.

I like coming here after going to 24 hour fitness in the same shopping center. The food here seems pretty healthy. I get the chicken shawerma wrap spicy. It is pretty large and filling. I also get the spicy marinated chicken sometimes, it's very juicy and the hummus is always good. I don't like the salad they give too much though. The people that work here are super friendly too. Sometimes I call in ahead of time for pickup and they always have everything ready in about 10 minutes.

The food is good here. But the ambience is very ordinary. We usually order Togo because of the surrounding. A bit of improvement in the environment is required to make it look classy .. Otherwise food is yummy .

I certainly had better. My brother and I came in for dinner before a long drive back to Davis. We ordered different dishes and shared some to sample. I love falafels, so I had the falafel plate which consisted of 5 pieces of falafel, hummus, and salad. One bite into the falafel and it tasted a bit burnt. The color did look darker, so I suppose they were swimming in the deep fryer a little longer than they were supposed to be. Texture was rough, to the point the roof of my mouth was getting scratched everything I chew into them. The hummus however was so smooth and delicious. My brother had the lamb shawarma plate and we both agreed that there was nothing exciting or remarkable to write about. Everything was decent overall, but don't expect to be blown away. They also have bottles of garlic chili sauce (by the same Sriracha brand) for your need of spiciness. Mediterranean with a kick of Asian.

mmmm I love Mediterranean food! falafel looks like meatballs, but they're just veggies fried in a ball. $5.99 for a falafel wrap is a good deal considering how big it is. I loved it, but I was bothered by the burnt taste in my wrap and how stingy the place is with the tahini sauce. to-go sauce cups only HALF filled & I wasn't sure if it was tahini sauce bc it was watery compared to the picture....or maybe the photo had hummus. lamb shawerma wrap was also good. owner was very polite too! ps orders after 9:30pm are to-go only. FB closes at 10pm

Outstanding! My wife and I go here every chance we get. Gyro plate rocks! The lamb is flavored perfectly, and the tahini is smooth and delicious. Dine in is preferred, but we have taken out once.

Very good Shawerma wrap. The flavor reminded me of backpacking Europe and grabbing Doner Kababs, Shawermas, and Gyros out there all over the place. Mediterranean joints in Europe are what Mexican taquerias are here in the West Coast. Very good fix until I get back home for places like Babalou's Mediterranean or The Mediterrranean here in the East Bay. The Service and place is very friendly and family oriented. The seating is huge family style and I have yet to bring my entire family of inlaws here.

Seriously great place for a quick bite to eat! With a ton of vegetarian options clearly labeled it made dining here a breeze. I came here a some girlfriends (around 10 of us) and we were served quickly even with a few of us not being too decisive. All our food came quickly and was steaming hot. My favorite thing to get here is veggie combo which has dolma, hummus, salad, rice, and falafel. The wraps are good too but I really enjoy the combos as I can get a little bit of everything. The falafel is green, steaming, and filled with a ton of great herbs and spices. The rice and salad is a great combination when you mix them together (sounds weird but try it). I also really enjoy the pistachio baklava coupled with the rice pudding.

My coworkers and I went there for lunch. Originally we went to Pad Thai, but that place was totally packed. And we can't wait since we need to go back by 1 PM. So we walked to the restaurant next to it. Falafel bite was half empty. The food menu is simple and they are pictures on the wall. Pretty easy to order. I ordered lamb kebab plate. It was good, but not perfect. I felt it's mixed with other things. It's not pure meat. My co-worker's lamb shawarma plate is much better. It may add some yogurt in it, it just tastes a little bit sour. But I like it very much.

The falafel is amazing. I went there during the lunch hour on a Monday and they were really busy. Food came out and was worth the short wait. They have a great garlic sauce that you can ask for. I am impressed with this place.

Great place for my meat craving moment especially with the lamb skewers (yes, you can pay to order extra skewers for the rice plate). The lamb has some fat blended in, which is the KEY!!! Chicken fillet used to be my favorite until I noticed the size of the fillet shrunk. Oh my, are the chickens on a diet!?

So I guess I don't love the FALAFEL. No diss on this place, but I guess they are just not my thing. If I am going to have something fried, it's not going to be a FALAFEL. Sorry. I really wanted to like them...but...not so much. Although they were green, crunchy, and not greasy, they truly were not what I had expected. Don't get me wrong, they looked super good...almost like meatballs, but these did not impress me. They lacked flavor and it was just not worth those fried calories. I did, however, like the rice and the hummus was ok. My friend ordered a wrap, and it ended up feeling like a big burrito that wasn't. 2 people $21 bucks also seemed a little bit pricey. I will come back for the kabob and maybe a wrap, because those looked and smelled good. Btw...what was up with the guy behind the counter. He truly was not happy to be working on Friday. Hmmm...someone get him a salad! Sorry fried balls, you are not my friends.

Had the lamb wrap and it was mighty tasty. The thin long lavash torpedo has big freshly grilled lamb flavor. Was intending on taking home half, but just could not stop myself from eating the whole thing.

I dig this place, they take the 5-stars card and every 10 meals you get a $10 credit, so hey almost like getting $1 off every purchase if you come as regularly as I do (since it is near work). They are also pretty fast, you can call ahead and have your food ready to go when you get there. Once I pre-ordered during the lunch rush and when I got there the line was almost out the door, but my food was already ready and they had me pay after I ate my meal. If you like spicy ask them to make your wrap spicy, they don't always remember to ask. Probably just some chiracha sauce but it kicks it up a notch. They usually give a little hot sauce and some yoghurt? sauce that goes well with the wraps. Are there better places? Probably, but it is pretty darn good and consistent.

  • Jesse S.

I ordered the falafel plate with rice. The rice looked nothing like the picture on the wall but it was still OK. The falafel wasn't great. I was expecting better considering the name of the place is Falafel Bite. Not bad but not great either. The pita bread and hummus was very good but they only gave me a little bit of pita. Would have been nice if they gave me a whole piece of pita bread. Also would have been nice if the restaurant was heated. It was freezing cold when I went in, and they had a space heater that was turned off.

I was hoping for a good eat after my work out (usually ravenous!) but was sorely disappointed. I ordered the lamb shawarma and got: -lamb was dry -pita bread was thin, dry and getting soggy already from the inside contents! i prefer mine thicker, fluffy, and wholesome -the sauce was just bland and not appetizing. it left a bad after taste in my mouth afterwards I was really hoping this place was better than since it's such a great, convenient location for me. *sigh* Maybe I will go back in a few years when I forget about how unappetizing it was!

We have been dining here for a few years now and have enjoyed it every time! The food is very tasty and reasonably priced. the Staff has always been very friendly to me. The Falafels have a wonderful crisp outside and tender inside full of spicy flavor. The Baba ghanouj is consistently fabulous! My favorite is the lamb & beef shawerma which has great flavor and the perfect combination of tender and crispy bits.

Last week, our church, Great Exchange Covenant Church had catered from Falafel Bite last minute as one of our other vendors dropped us last minute. It was 3 days before our Sunday Service and Falafel Bite totally stepped in in a HUGE way! Not only did they cater us last minute but they were super accommodative in all of our needs. On top of that, they delivered great food as always with their Falafels and their gyros! Thank you so much for great service, great food and overall a great experience for our church! I know our church folks will be back there to eat again! Blessings,

Ran in to get a chicken shawarma wrap to go. Walked in and ordered at the counter and was given a number. Not that busy on a Wednesday night. Only 3 tables were occupied and the place is pretty big. I guess they had a party or something because streamers decorated the place. They have murals on the walls and pretty clean place all around. I didn't wait too long and my wrap came in foil in a bag with one container each of hot sauce and tahini. I was asked if I wanted it spicy to which I said yes but when I ate it, it wasn't spicy at all. I used up my one packet of hot sauce. The flavor is really good though and I would get it again. I can't really comment on how it looked because i was too hungry to wait and I ate it while driving at night. This should be outlawed like cell phone use while driving. If you were on Lawrence around 8pm on Wednesday, I'm sorry. The dumb ass driver was me because I was too busy chomping on my wrap to pay attention to lights/signals/stops etc. I want to come back because as I waited for my order, I checked out their menu and I definitely want to try their mansaf which is my favorite dish at another restaurant. I also noticed that for $2 more you can get a no carb subsitute of babaganoush, extra salad and a veggie skewer. That sounds just as good if not better than the standard rice and hummus it comes with. They also take the five stars card so you get points when you eat here.

I finally have another great lunch spot near work! Falafel Bite has leap frogged its way in my top 5 current lunch spots. I don't know if the episode of No Reservations that I saw the night before where Anthony Bordain goes to Turkey and enjoys all sorts of middle eastern tastiness left me craving this stuff but all I had to do was try the Chicken Shawarma plate and I was sold. The chicken was really flavorful and the rice, salad, pickled vegetables that came with it were perfect. The hummus here is on par with the best that I've ever had. I honestly believe that I could eat a giant bowl of just this hummus and pita without a problem. Amazing food, great service, good value. I'm hooked.

I've been coming here for the last three years and I just remembered to write a review. This is pretty much a Mediterranean fast food place. The service is always fast and each visit is only a little over $10. I really like the hummus and meat plates, but I almost always get the Chicken Shawerma Wrap because it's my favorite. Once in a while, I like to order aside of pita chips as well. A small order is actually pretty large for me. I enjoy almost everything here except for the Shawerma Salad. The lettuce was chopped into strips and was very limp. In all the years I've gone here, I've only had one bad experience when my meat or the wrap was burnt. The flavor was very off and I couldn't finish my wrap. It seemed to be a one time incident because everything was back to normal the next time I visited. It's very family friendly and gets surprisingly crowded on a Friday night.

I can't say I'm an expert when it comes to Mediterranean food as I've only tried this place and Falafel Drive-In but this is a solid place to get your falafel fix. Prices are decent as most dishes average $7.99. The portions are big, though so you get good bang for your buck. If you're thinking of one of the dinner plates, I would go with the lamb shawarma as the chicken is hit or miss. Portion-wise I would skip the kabobs as the shawarmas seem to give you more food. Those will come with a large portion of meat, a scoop of hummus, rice, and a salad. It also comes with a basket of pita bread that you can refill if you need more. I also tried the lamb kabob wrap for the first time last night and although good, I'll probably go back to the dinner plates. There was hardly any lamb in the wrap and I was still hungry after eating it. The falafel balls on the other hand are a staple as those are dericious. I've only been here during dinner so I can't comment on the lunch rush. It's always pretty empty during dinner but I can definitely see how it can take a while to get your food during lunch as even when it's empty it takes a while to get your food. This is a solid place, however. Would recommend.

Cheaper than any other Mediterranean restaurant around. If you order your food to go they will still give you the hummus and the flat bread other restaurants they don't do that. Their pistachio baklava is very good.

  • Erica P.

Food is ooook, nothing special like real authentic middle eastern food, but close enough. Prices are little too high for the amount you are given. You can clearly see they increased their prices when they use paper and tape to cover their old prices. I would be back, but its not in my budget for what you get. Ps I ordered the vegetable biryani for 9.99$ and I thought it was decent On the plus side they have 2 flat screen tv's if you wanted to watch the game.

I ordered a lamb schwarma wrap from here and was disappointed. It wasn't terrible but I was looking for a more flavorful taste. The wrap itself was a very good size. However, I think it was the pita itself that felt a bit dry. I think I was looking for something slightly fluffier - maybe I should have tried a gyro instead? I'm not sure, but I'll definitely give them another shot. The wall was covered with pictures of other plates that the restaurant offered that looked delicious. Hopefully they taste better than my wrap.

This is my go to restaurant for lamb shawarma in the south bay. Whatever the red sauce is, I love it!! If you're really into authentic middle eastern food, ask for parsley in the shawarma, not the Americanized version they sell with lettuce. It can get busy at lunch time, but the line moves quickly. Service is friendly and fast. The only down side for this place is parking at lunch time can be tricky given all the businesses in the plaza.

Falafel wrap was ridiculously HUGE, wow. I had to cut it in half and save the rest for dinner. Dolma leaves are a bit oily, hummus is a bit too creamy for my opinion, but overall it was alright, nothing special here. also, never realized that green falafels shows they use herbs in their recipe.

I totally dig this place; I'm here at least twice a week! Location: They are located off of Lawrence Expressway, in the same shopping center as 24 Hour Fitness and Cindy's Yoga Studio. Parking can be a bit frustrating during weeknights around 6-7 pm - you're competing with gym goers and yoga enthusiasts. Ambiance/Cleanliness: This place remodeled in within the last year; the walls are painted with Greek Ionic columns and architecture with one flat screen TV at the back wall. I've been here enough times that the cleanliness of the tables are a bit hit and miss, but they're happy to wipe the tables down if you ask them. Food: I love their chicken shawerma; it comes with a side salad, rice, hummus and pita bread. Pretty good portions and always filling. The chicken kabob plate and the gyro wrap is also really good. Service: They are friendly, fast (sometimes the food can take a little bit longer if they are really busy), and accommodating. Overall Experience: Casual and friendly environment that serves healthy and flavorful food! Side note: I did notice the portion is a little bit more if you dine in versus taking it to go.

Meh. Nah. Ig. I was truly wanting to like this place, but the combination of several different factors turned me off to it. 1) Cleanliness, or lack thereof. The utensils I picked up were dirty, the mismatched glasses had flecks of something still stuck on them, and the hot sauce/yogurt bottles (in the cold case) were covered in a sticky film. Not a good start. Then came the meal. 2) The obvious lack of meat in my lamb shwarma wrap -- the first 4 bites were full of lettuce, and though the lettuce was fresh, there was just too much of it. The lamb that I did have was dry, which is so unfortunate. The good/decent points? 1) The rice was tasty, and cooked just right. 2) The hummus was plentiful as a side on my husband's plate, and was tasty, but a bit on the bland side as other reviewers mentioned. 3) The friendly service from the young guy at the cashier was a welcome break from the other parts of the business that disappointed. Maybe this place is better during the week, I'll give them that ... but I doubt I'll come back when there are much better Medi places in Sunnyvale.

So for my daughter's birthday takeout food, i was debating to get from here or Cafe Falafel in Santa Clara. I made choice for the latter and it was good choice. This time i decided to try Falafel Bytes and was disappointed. I got lamb shawerma, lamb kebob and beef kabob. The kabobs were a bit hard and dry. Shawerma - really burned. The only thing i really enjoyed was falefel - much much better comparing to cafe falafel. So not completely terrible place but i am not sure if i would go again, i just feel you can have better mediterranean meat elsewhere.

We stumbled across this place yesterday for lunch... and... well, I think I'm in love. Food? My boyfriend and I have taken a few trips to New York recently, and every time we get back to the bay, we are so bummed that we can't find a place that can ever compare to the halaal/falafel/rice plates they sell on the side walks of NYC. Until of course, Falafel Bite found us. In all honestly, I don't think there will be anything that can compare to the rice plates in NYC but this place comes close. I ordered the Chicken Fillet and it was so scrumptious that I had a smile on my face with each bite. Concerned that we might be disappointed again, we ordered garlic fries...and that too blew us away. I think it was the best garlic fries I've ever had...even better than a baseball game. Service? You pretty much go to the register order your food, take it togo or find a seat (good luck). But if you dine in they will bring the food to you. Nice and helpful staff, looks family run. Venue? Much bigger than it looks from the outside. I was expecting a cramped little deli-like spot, but it was pretty spacious. They even have a lounge area with a flat screen TV. Nothing fancy but definitely do-able. Oh, you'll see me again Falafel Bite...you'll see me A LOT.

I got a chicken sharwarma wrap here because who can mess that up? - well apparently this place can. It was soggy, and and the meat had cartilage in it - gross! It was a teenager with an attitude that took my order. I will not be returning... ever. With so many good Mediterranean places in the area, it's a shame to eat here.

I recently fell in love with falafels. I started going to Falafel Bite thinking that it would help with my falafels cravings. Strange thing is I discovered the Chicken Shewarma and won't order anything else. This lunch plate is packed with all kinds of amazing things: perfectly marinated sliced chicken, amazing rice, finger-licking good hummus, a nice side of salad, and some naan. Great lunch spot during the work week, but get there by 11:30a to beat the crowds!

Halal meats and AMAZING baba ganoush make for a wonderful Sunday night supper. Clean and pure, the flavors of their chicken shawema wraps move you to a holy state. Add a slice of baklava and reach heavenly bliss. You can even skip church.

This is a solid option for lunch if you work in the area, but get there early because it fills up quickly! I splurged on a plated lunch and was full and happy, cleaning my plate. I didn't feel like they scrimped on the meat either, good balance in portions of meat, salad, rice, and hummus. A just-over-$10 option I may be exercising again. The baklava was ok...a little on the dry side for me.

This is my goto place when i am looking for mediterranean food. If u are looking for the best shawarma this is it. They have some great rice dishes as well like the grandmas chicken which is oh so goood! And the mansaf which is a lamb curry served with some flavorful rice! Even though we moved to the east bay we always stop by here whenever in the south bay just to grab some good soul comforting food! Oh and dont forget the mint yogurt house drink. Great digestive too!

Excellent shawerma wraps. The spicy chicken is my go-to. Nice people, authentic middle-eastern flavors.

The falafels here are pretty good, but you can easily find better ones nearby...Athena, Agape, Dish Dash... This is more of a fast food/to-go type restaurant but you can sit down if you'd like. You stand in line to order and everything else is self served. I usually come here if I want a quick bite since it's fast and close to work.

Not bad not bad... actually, I think this is my favorite S. Bay spot for falafel now. They were tasty and crisp! Service was fast, food was inexpensive and the lay-out roomy (but not nice for a date or anything). Warning though, they seem to put a white sauce on most entrees so if you're lactose intolerant like my friend is, be sure to ask for it on the side. If you lost a phone there a few weeks ago, I found it and turned it in to the cashier... after asking everyone in the restaurant if it was theirs! See ya there!

This place has got one the best falafel wrap I've had so far..large, very crispy wrap, large crispy falafel balls covered in sesame, and lots of veggies and light tahini sauce. The chicken shawerma was so good - tender chicken bits, fluffy rice, spicy salad, and hummus. The cafe is fairly large, with plenty of seating. The drink machine was half out of order, but they had a lot of bottled drinks. Also, there is a corner near the front of the cafe where you can lounge on low cushions, and hover around low tables. Great for groups!

It's probably not fair, or even nice, to compare the chicken shawerma from Falafel Bite to my hometown favorite, Zankou Chicken. But...seriously. Ever since I've moved, I've craved a good chicken shawerma, so I was excited when I worked near this place - I went in with an open mind, thinking that if it was even half as good as Zankou's version, I'd come back. But, alas, the chicken wasn't right, and even the spicy version failed to impress me. What did impress me, though, was the staff. Enough that I decided to give it another shot, anyway. And I'm glad I did. Their Kefta Kebab saved the day for me - very well done. Seasoned well, not dried out, everything I wanted, really. The awesomely named Grandma's chicken was delicious as well - I'm a fan of the seasoning and the tenderness of this dish. But...man, that disappointing shawerma will always bug me.

What a gem! I really enjoy eating the house falafel wrap. The wrap is big enough for two people to share or two meals. I would give this place 5 out of 5 stars but the sauces are not that great. The sauces are a bit on the bland side but the taste of every falafel is what keeps me coming back for more.

Come here all the time, always hits the spot. I always order the chicken shawerma plate, which comes with three tender pieces of chicken that have been marinated in delicious spices and seasonings, you also get a flavorful yellow rice, salad, hummus and fresh pita bread. So much food with lots of get unique flavor. The hummus is simply divine! I also occasionally order the lamb shawerma wrap, which is sorta like a Mediterranean burrito. Yummy cuts or seasoned lamb, lettuce, tomato, red onion, yogurt sauce all wrapped up in a pita, really light and not too heavy. Food is always up to par, service is normally pretty fast, but there's always a lunch rush during the week. Really is a great place to try something a little different the your typical lunch and it's budget friendly as well!

Busy during lunch so be prepared to wait for a table and your food. GOod ambience...no frills. The little lounge area w/ TV is a little peculiar but doesn't ruin the eating experience at all. Ordered the chicken shawarma wrap after craving it for awhile now and I wasn't disappointed! Fairly cheap and portions are plenty. Not as tasty as the shawarmas at DishDash in Sunnyvale, but still worth it for the price and being closeby work. Definitely will come back again!

This place is an absolute no-go for me. Falafel balls (or in this case, falafel rectangles) were WAAAY too greasy and didn't taste like a falafel. We had an order of 12 and only ate a few of them. I was HUGELY disappointed at the way these turned out.

  • Joe P.

I like this place, but if compares unfavorably to nearby Athena (to be fair, Athena is a Greek restaurant, similar but different). All of their wraps are good, also garlic fries are tasty but way too expensive ($6 for fries!). Sometimes service can be slow, like when someone calls in an order for 30 items right before you're about to order. Nothing they can really do about that though, I forgive them for it. Overall it's a good place, I eat there sometimes.

So, I had the mansaf here a few nights ago, and it was excellent -- tender chunks of lamb marinated in a yogurt broth, served with saffron rice and almonds. Oh, I guess it's traditionally a celebratory dish - for weddings and holidays - so I'll save it to celebrate the nights I work out at 24 Hour Fitness next door. I will also ignore the calorie count so nicely listed on mansaf's wikipedia page :(

  • Mike D.

Prices went up substantially, food portions definitely did not. It's decent food, specially after 9 pm when options go out the window. The lamb shawerma apparently is beef and lamb, and the chicken filet is more like a chicken strip... with the prices having now gone up it becomes harder and harder to justify to myself why I go here.

Great food, great service, great coupon accepting system! Was recommended by a friend, the food was amazing the first time.Second time went to redeem a coupon for 10$ on purchase of 20$ order.the front desk guy accepted it without making any faces or hesitation. infact, generally the coupon reads 10$ discount but after taxes or something,it gives 8$ only it seems. This was told by the guy,but he checked again on the print out properly and said"It doesnt say here though,so it will be 10$.i would check with the manager later." Im a picky tipper.the serving staff is too good so is food.,i,the all time miser, actually tipped the change we got from the order. My personal best, grandma shrimp!!yuuummmyyyyyy as hell....omg!

I can't speak for the falafel as i only got the chicken shawerma- But i do believe i've found my temporary replacement for the Zankou chicken shawerma in LA. The chicken was tender, and with the additions of the tahini and hot sauces- fantastic! Portions are generous too. If it weren't so far away, i'd definitely be coming here on the regular. Next time i shall try the falafel and see if it stacks up against falafel's drive in. =O

This restaurant is AMAZING! I ordered online not really knowing anything about the restaurant only what is written on here. I wish I could specify what is good and what isn't but it's all to die for! Not only is the food delicious but the people who work here are extremely kind and inviting. I wouldn't have even cared if the food was bad because the people were wonderful!

I've been here a few times when I want something quick and yummy that is definitely not Subway. On average it's a solid 3, but the Mansaf I had was definitely a 1. I've had Mansaf at Dishdash and it my favorite dish there, but here it was too powdery. It was disgusting... I couldn't eat it. It's a shame, cause I really do like their falafel and gyros. They just way over did the flavor to the yogurt ratio? I should have known better when the dish came out yellow.. Anyway, I would say this place is still a solid 3. The staff are super nice and it's definitely a more casual place.. Just don't expect amazing things from the more traditional "dinner" plates. Go for the wraps or gyros and you won't be disappointed. The parking lot is a bit of a zoo during "workout" hours because of the 24 Hour Fitness in the strip, but it's not bad otherwise.

The sign said Falafel Bite, but is called House of Falafel on Yelp...?! Well, lucky for this place (whatever it's called), St. John's was closed so we stumbled over here for some grub. I liked that the menu was short and simple - pictures always help too. We came on a Sunday night, so we got great service. The whole time we were there, we saw a number of people picking up phone orders - that was comforting, considering the place was empty. I had the lamb shawerma, and fiance had the chicken shawerma. He finished the chicken, so it's safe to say he liked it. Not too spicy, just right. Being a lamb lover, I was disappointed that I hardly tasted the lamb at all. Don't get me wrong, it was damn good, but I was hoping for more of a lamb-y taste. The hummus was...dare I say it.... one of the best parts of the dish. The rice was very very bland, only tasted better with the hummus and meat. The salad was... eh. We may come back next time we're in the area, just to try other stuff on the menu.

We ordered take out here. Here's a summary of everything we tried: *Chicken shawarma wrap: Yummy! Huge wrap. The chicken was good. Not dry at all. *Kebab plate with chicken and beef: Beef was better. Overall, both were dry. However, the chicken was worst though. Smaller pieces of beef tasted more tender. Came with hummus, which was good. The pickled salad it also came with was okay. I wasn't very fond of the buttered rice. *Pita bread didn't taste very fresh. It was warm though. *Tabouleh - You get a huge container for each order. Tasty! Overall, I think I'll stick to the wraps and appetizers here! The kebabs are a little bit too dry for me! Probably makes a better lunch place! :P

Hole in the wall place; very unassuming and authentic (I think -- because there are always a bunch of native Mediterraneans eating there). Every dish we've gotten here has been phenomenal -- one of the best cheap eats we've found. Chicken plate: chicken seasoning was so flavorful, served with rice, pita, hummus and salad. House falafel: soooooo delicious with the eggplant and portion is huge. Love the hot sauce and tahini. Pretty much self-serve, but very much worth it for the delicious cuisine.

As a fan of falafel wrap..I usually try falafel at all falafel restaurants..:) I was not disappointed with the taste of falafel wrap. Only problem is it will be too crowded during lunch times. Go around 2PM and you get the order quickly and enjoy it leisurely...;)

Instantly Addicted! The Good: The shawarma wrap (spicy) is delicious! Pita chips w/ hummus = so tasty. The Bad: Didn't have a smaller (cheaper) order of hummus. The Review: I've only been here once, and I already love it. The lamb shawarma wrap was simply exquisite. The meat was tender, the insides were juicy, and the wrap was crispy. I thought of the wrap as a burrito so naturally I wanted chips and dip to eat it with. I ordered a small order of pita chips, and a small order of hummus to dip them in. Unfortunately these 3 items plus a drink came up to around $15. I'd say a touch too much, maybe around the $12 mark I wouldn't even comment on it. It went really well together though. Top it off with a couple of cute employees and you got yourself a great place for lunch!

I am giving this place 4 stars because the food is just that good. It is a hole in the wall place and has a lunch room atmosphere, but who cares? I get food to-go and I sit in and eat. The gyros are huge and very flavorful, I have had gyros all over the world and these are up to par! My favorite thing to order is the Adana Kafta plate-ground lamb roll served with a salad w/pickles, hummus, pita, and rice. The great things is that this place is reasonably priced; the plate is only $10.99. I would also suggest the Lamb kabob and the lamb wrap. The service has always been friendly as well.

This is my one of go-to spots for lunch during the work week when I want something mediterranean, or at least something that's not a sandwich or a salad. I really like their chicken shwerma wrap. You must add the spicy red sauce. I like their combo plates too because it has hummus. It's not the best hummus I've tasted but it does fine for a lunch. Sometimes their rice is not that well prepared or their veggies are not as fresh. Also, they raised their prices from last year so it's less value, hence the three stars instead of four.

  • Adrienne Y.

Sorry to do this, but this place has fallen off. It was great a year or two ago. Did they switch hands or something? The food is now smaller portioned and stingy, plus they always forget something. Whether its the pita bread, or the damn pita bread. Staying away from this place for awhile; trying to find another Mediterranean place to satisfy those cravings.

I was pleasantly surprised. The outside appearance was not very attractive, but the food was top notch. I had the kofte kabob, and I have to say it was delicious. The staff was helpful in suggesting their best dishes. I really like this place and will return the next time I am in town.

Ever since i moved back to the SF Bay i have been trying to find a Zankou substitute. This is not a Zankou but it does help the craving. They have a comparable garlic sauce which i crave. The chicken wraps and shwarma plates are ok. I was hoping it would be a 5 star place rating but I wasnt too impressed. If im in the area i will go back but Im still trying to find the Zankou of the Bay area.

Oh man, the Grandma's Chicken is insane. Order it medium spicy - you won't regret it. I came here looking for falafel balls but stayed for the Grandma's Chicken... It is dangerous that this is so close to my office, especially when it's cold outside and I'm craving something a little spicy

The chicken shawerma wraps were so delicious! It was fresh and very garlicy..... Yum! Just tried them for the first time and would def. get take-out there again. Few months ago I tried there lamb shawerma and wasn't too crazy about it. This isnt a place I would dine-in... Not so nice for a night out with your friends... Unless your just leaving the gym 'and just want to grab a bite'. Anyway.... Loved the chicken shawerma wrap!

Located in a small plaza lies this place. After going here a few times, I can say that this place hits the spot whenever I have a craving for it. Some days, the food is excellent while others days it's just average. The two dishes I enjoy is the lamb shawarma plate and grandma's chicken. The lamb shawarma plate contains lamb, rice, hummus, and salad. I personally don't like pickles in my salad, and this place puts a lot of them. The hummus is hit or miss; for some reason the hummus I had today had a really funky smell. The lamb can be really moist and flavorful, or it can be overcooked and dry. The grandma's chicken is an awesome dish if you like spicy food. It's chicken, bell peppers, jalapenos, and some cilantro over rice. The flavors blend in really well, though they overdo it with the cilantro; the cilantro overtakes the whole dish at times. Overall, it's a nice alternative to Subway or other fast food places if you're in the area. There are plenty of seats inside the restaurant but if you dine in, it may take a while for your food to come out.

Nice place! Ambiance might not be the best....but can seat atleast 40 from what I noticed... Service was great ! Food was fantastic... Although food was not packed with the zest and spice I experience at a couple of other Mediterranean places...the tahini and hot sauce compensated for it. All in all I like !

I LOVE THIS PLACE. they give you such a good balance of diversity and abundance. i go there for their lunch plates all the time. my favorite is the lamb schwarma plate. it comes with creamy hummus, salad, rice, and pita bread. the lack of one star comes from their price (they just raised it!) and the charge ($1) for a tabbouleh substitute.

  • Ben H L.

This place is a hugely busy lunch spot so already I know that their food must be decent. I've been here a few times for their lamb schwarma wrap and falafels. Their falafels aren't shaped like traditional balls but instead shaped like round cones. They still taste crunchy good on the outside and easier to dip them in the spicy red sauce and the yogurt sauce. BTW, the hot sauce was definitely hot...so it's pretty legit. The lamb schwarma was decent, about on par with other places that I've been to. The next time I go, I'm curious to get the kefta kabob wrap. Good luck getting a table here at lunch between noon and 1pm, cause you'll be waiting a while. When I order to-go, they usually get me my order in about 5-7 mins

    * Friendliness of the cute girl who took my order = 4 stars * Cleanliness of the dining area = 3 stars * Dryness of the kefta meat = 2 stars * The explosive shits I got 2 hours later = -1 star ** Average = 2 stars

Whenever I can get my lunch in a reasonable amount of time. I'm happy. I live by my stomach. If I'm hungry, generally I'm cranky. When my stomach is full, I'm happy. Lots of stars for the fast service and yummy food at this place! I usually get the Gyro wrap and its super yummy. They do a great job stuffing a ton of meat in the wrap. Fries are mediocre and the only complaint I have is that the bottle condiments are sticky.

Rain makes me not want to study, exercise, or cook. This is how I found myself cleaning off a plate of lamb shawerma at House of Falafel this afternoon. Yum yum =) This place is on par with Gyros Gyros in downtown PA, although if I were pushed to choose one, I think I'd go with Gyros Gyros because the lamb I had today here was a little bit fatty ... Gyros Gyros has better quality? Other than that, everything was delish! Hummus is good, portions are plentiful, and they have a surprisingly spicy red hot sauce that's very good when mixed in with the hummus. Their pita is also very soft and yummy. There's also a yogurt sauce that I did not try. Tea and drinks are refillable. Decor was very nice. I was expecting a dirty hole-in-the-wall type but the walls looked newly painted, the tables were clean, and there was a big screen TV in the corner. Very nice.

I've had better. Much better. The lamb shawerma wrap had more tough, gristle than I'd prefer. Spat out about 4 wads of gross toughness that I left the last half of my meal on the place. Every table needed bussing (looks like a dumpster exploded in there), so you basically ate on someone's lunch remains. And the parsley in my cup of water sealed the deal. Trying to think of an upside, but sure can't right now.

I visited Falafel Bite last week, for lunch. This is a great place for Shawerma wraps and salads! I think the prices are a little high, but the food is good and it's all very fresh. I need to go back to try other things before I can give this restaurant five stars :).

After hearing nothing but praise on Jatbar.com , I visited this HoF location a couple of times. Parking was the first problem. I had to drive around a while to find a spot. Annoying. Crowds were the second issue. I was lucky enough on my first visit to get there before noon and grab a small table. The people ten minutes later were not so lucky, and the line remained about 30 people deep for the next half hour. Reading some other reviews (here and on Jatbar) you would think this place was the second coming. (OK, so I have my religions confused). I found the food to vary between pretty good and not so good, depending on the dish. Here's what I have tried here from best to worst: Falafel plate -- consisting of 5 large falafel balls, hummus and salad. The falafel balls were fresh and quite tasty, but just a tad on the dry side for me. The hummus was very thick, dense and unimpressive. It tasted like hummus concentrate they shipped from the old country. I prefer hummus that tastes like it was homemade that day. I was hungry so I scraped my plate, which was tough considering the large amount of food they gave me. And it cost me just $6 and change. Good value for this meal, despite the poor hummus. Combo shish kebab plate w/lamb and chicken -- The chicken was really good - nicely flavored and cooked perfectly. The lamb was just OK. The salad and rice they gave me was on the small side, though the rice was cooked perfectly. Hummus was the same as before, i.e. unimpressive. Chicken schwarma wrap -- Better than the lamb wrap (see below), but nothing spectacular. Kind of sad and small. I much prefer the wraps from Mediterranean Wraps in Palo Alto. Lamb schwarma wrap (to go) -- The first thing I noticed was how light the bag was...uh oh. Then I got back to the office and opened it up. Hmmm...still feeling very light. This was a tiny wrap and they were not generous with the meat. Kind of a ripoff for $6.48. The meat itself was on the dry side, but was fairly tender. I had to add some yogurt sauce to liven it up a bit. In the end it left me a bit hungry and I bought some chips from the machine at work. Not good value this time. Disappointing. I would eat here again if I was in the immediate area and the line was short, but I won't be going out of my way to eat at House of Falafel. Pros: Some items are pretty good, nice selection Cons: Very long lines at peak lunch hour; disappointing hummus; smallish, sad wraps

After a workout at the gym came here for a gyro. The lady working the counter was really pleasant and I got my food to go. The wait time wasn't that bad but I was really pleased to see how the packaged the food. The fries had holes to vent so they didn't get soggy. The gyro was really tasty and I would come back here again.

I wasn't sure where to go for lunch today so my coworker and I decided to try this falafel place. there was quite a selection from shawerma wraps to kabobs, vegetarian and non-vegetarian. based on what was on people's tables I decided to order the shish kabob combo (beef and lamb). I have to admit the service is really slow. it probably took like 15 mins for my order. I started with the hummus and was impressed. then I moved onto the salad which wasn't too bad. it had lettuce, beets, pickles, tomatoes but not much dressing, a little plain. it's ok, salads are not meant to be drowned. the beef and lamb kabobs looked really good. I took my first bite of the beef and it barely warm. I moved onto the lamb, same thing, not hot at all. to top it off it was pretty dry and bland. I had to pour hot sauce to give it some flavor. what a disappointment after starting off with the yummy hummus. hummus, good... salad, ok.... meat kabobs, eh... I would've given 2.5 stars and since there aren't half stars, they certainly do not deserve 3 stars. after waiting 15 mins I would expect the meats to be hot since it's fresh off the grill. if you want good kabobs I'd recommend Chelokababi. at least their meats have more flavor.

honestly been coming here for a wile. seems like the food gets worse everytime i come here. first of the hunmus tasted more like tahini sauce than anything. didnt taste the lemon or garlic at all. second the meat i ordered which was suppose to be lamb and beef, came out too be just beef that was over cooked, and was so rough . barley had any seasoning on it. . i wont be coming back here anymore. just an opinion an a arab .

This place should be called "falafel bites". Went on a Sunday after finding out the St. John's was closed. Ordered a veggie plate and a lamb kabob plate. While the veggie plate was fair the lamb kabob really sucked. Dry, tough and not favorable. Could not identify the meat but certainly did not taste of lamb. Should call this 'mystery meat". To add insult to injury the place was about empty but it took us about 20 minutes to get our order and was about $30.00 for two (what a rip).

Just had lunch here today with my husband and kids. This place is crowded in the weekdays during lunch time. We ordered the lamb shawerma... Ammm it was just ok for me. The meat is a little tough. It should be tender coz they've been roasting it for hours.next time I'll stick to my usual order the chicken version. The chicken shawerma is tender and more flavorful. You can never go wrong. Then we had the adana plate. It's like this long flat sausage... And it's lamb. This one is good and tender and the hummus is great. What I really like here is their baklava. Pistacchio baklava is freakin good. I can eat 6! Quick service and yah not bad for a casual mediterranean dining.

Very authentic middle eastern food. Everything is also made with fresh ingredients which you can taste. The Falafel and lentil soup are great. I try something different each time I go these and have not had a bad dish. Excellent rice dishes. Staff very friendly and accommodating. Even when line is long during lunch, it moves fast.

St. John's, Yoga@Cindy, the arques 24 hr fitness, as well as a Subway and other food places are here. Forget about parking here around noon. Just forget about it. Come early or late - definitely carpool, or be willing to walk. After work though, not too shabby. They have a nice plush arabesque seating area with a TV, but I always just walk in for take-out. Only thing I ever order is their falafel wrap too. But it's big, tasty and does the trick.

An ok place for lunch when at work. The ambiance is very cafeteria like and they do take their time to get you your food. One thing I would recommend however is the lamb salad which is pretty amazing (even without the dressing). Other than that, its your average greek place, there's nothing bad here but there's nothing particularly about this place either. Also if you're coming here around lunchtime, realize that it will probably take you at least 15-20 min to find parking because everyone and their mom seems to come to this plaza for lunch.

Falafel bite is really, really good. The place was packed again today for lunch. I went in with Scott to grab takeout for a few people at work, and it felt like we were standing in a crowded bazaar in the middle east. Lots of people, lots of food, lots of conversation. A lot of everything. In any case, I am a sucker for the falafel wrap. What's not to like? The falafel, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and sauce go so well together. It is a tiny bit spicy from the sharp onions, but mostly it feels like you are eating a crunchy salad in a wrap. Yum. I did find out that waiting 5 hours to eat another one leads to mixed results - not nearly as good as the one I ate for lunch. Yes, I had it for both lunch AND dinner. Yep.

3.5 stars Fave: Shawermas, MANSAF! What Falafel Bite does REALLY well (and I've never seen this dish at any other place) is the mansaf. It's a lamb shank cooked in a yogurt sauce served with rice on the side. It's extremely tasty -- the lamb is flavorful yet lean, and the yogurt sauce isn't your typical sauce.. it has some really nice complex flavors. Of course, the same goes for the rice -- it's not going to be your typical white or brown rice. It tastes like saffron rice but I'm not sure. Wikipedia states that mansaf is the national dish of Jordan, so perhaps that's why I haven't seen it around. Haven't been to many/any Jordanian food places. But if lamb isn't your thing (and why not?), the chicken shawermas are also quite good here. The price (around $7 or so) is reasonable as well. I've only tried the falafels here once, but I felt they were good. My disclaimer is that I'm not a vegetarian or someone who has falafels a lot of the time so I may not know what I'm talking about. But each order is 12 balls so it seems like a solid value. Beware of coming here during peak lunch hours (i.e. noon); the parking lot is decently sized but a lot of the spaces are taken up by people who use the neighboring gym during lunch.

Very mediocre food unfortunately. I got the Chicken Shish-Kebab plate which had dry chicken, dry rice, and dry hummus. On top of that, they got my order wrong which I realized when I finally got back home. I'm a low-carber so I asked for extra salad in lieu of rice. Instead I got all rice! They have a sign out front trumpeting their low carb selection, so one would expect them to be used to it. At least they were generous with the rice portion, it was enough to feed 3 average sized men I would estimate. As a note, I didn't experience the slow service that so many others did. But I was the only one there, so that may have helped. I'd recommend House of Falafel on Wolfe and Steven's Creek which is much better, for the same price. yelp.com/biz/house-of-fa…

came here from great word of mouth. came on a friday night, pretty busy, seems as though its good for large groups. ordered the lamb kabob plate, and the beef plate, and a side order of garlic fries. total price we felt was somewhat expensive but hey this place has great reviews so it must be worth it. the entree's both came out pretty fast so we were happy about that. they also give you a small salad also. taste of the lamb and beef were both pretty good. i wouldn't say it was one of the best i had, but it was good. the reason for 2 stars are because of the portions for the price seem a bit expensive in my opinion. also we weren't too pleased that i had to ask the staff 3 times for the garlic fry order as they forgot the order. i believe the garlic fries were around 5 to 6 dollars and the the amount they give you is some fries on a desert type of place. we were hoping for a basket of fries so we were disappointed by that. overall seems like this place is great for large groups as its a large restaurant, but due to its small portions and high prices, we probably won't be heading back as there are plenty of middle eastern foods in the bay area.

My husband and I love this place!! We always order a double order of hummus (delicious!) and falafel wraps! The family that works there is so friendly! Always generous with portions! We have tried The Falafel Drive-In and definitely found this one to be way better!

All I can think about is that garlic sauce that came with the chicken shish kabob plate...so good...so highly inappropriate to eat it during lunch and then go back to the office for a bunch of meetings...but I did it anyway. Uh...sorry coworkers. The chicken was also pretty good - not dried out or lacking flavor or anything. Although how would I know with all the garlic I ate. I should mention that the pita was a little stale. And the tabouli I think had mint in it which threw me a little because it's not what I'm used to. The baba ganoush was really good, the hummus wasn't super awesome but didn't suck or anything, the falafel was crispy and pretty awesome, the baklava was goooood...but man all I can think about is the garlic awesomeness..................

Sooooo goooood with decent prices. I usually get the Veggie Falafel and its the epitome of freshness. Fresh crunchy lettuce, tomatoes and nice pipping hot veggie "fried balls" (don't laugh....I don't know what else to call them) with a warm toasted wrap (with grill marks). Sometimes the wrap gets over toasted and becomes hard. You can eat it with their "red or white" sauces. Their bakalava is really good.....I luv the taste of crispy, flaky, layers of chewy honey, pistachios and buttery goodness. But I can only eat one, and even then I'm sharing my 1 piece. Lunch time is ridiculously crazy here....either go early or later so you can find a decent seat or even sit in the cushiony area with red, orange, purples and rich green pillows.

The service here is realllyyy reallllyyyy slow. We have to wait 15-30 minutes every time we come here. This one time, I was eating my wrap and felt a water drop on my head. I looked up and their ceiling was leaking O__o I used to always get the wraps here, it was decent (solid 3 stars). However, the more I come here, the more I realize the food is not that great. The meat is too dry and the wrap itself is too hard to bite through sometimes. I try to switch it up and get the plates instead (beef kebob or chicken shawerma). For me, it is better than the wraps b/c I also get pita bread and hummus but it is just not worth it to go here anymore with the slowwww service.

Came here because we had a restaurant.com coupon. The guy at the counter told us that they only take cash with the coupon (our mistake - it said so on the coupon). We didn't have any cash on us, but he let it slide which was nice of him. I got the falafel wrap, which was much bigger than I was expecting. My wife got the kabob plate, which was a decent sized portion as well. Both of our meals tasted very good. They also brought out baklava at the end of our meal. We would definitely come back here again.

I got introduced to this place by an old college friend who did a simple search for Lebanese food when he visited me in the Bay. I immediately loved it and have been taking people here ever since. They have the best Shwaerma (sp?) in the area and their prices are good. Their service is excellent. They get you your food quickly, and it's piping hot, fresh from the kitchen. Their sauces taste great. They also have a vegetarian menu that my old manager tried and he thought it was good. I would recommend this as a good lunch or early dinner spot on most weekdays/nights. They say they deliver but I can't speak to that since the one time I called for delivery they said they had a special event going on in the place and couldn't come out. But I give it 5 stars...it's great food, price and atmosphere.

so im not expert when it comes to mediterranean food, but house of falafel (falafel bite?) has some really good food! my boyfriend works in this area, so yesterday he suddenly thought of this place to eat, and i agreed since i love to try new places, and it sounded like a great idea. first off, the service here is great, the lady who was working was very friendly. she explained the dishes to me since i really had never tried this type of food and didn't know much about it. i ended up ordering the veggie plate, which was really good. every component of the plate was very good and tasty. my favorite item in it was the falafels and baba gannouj. yuh-uh-mee! on top of that, i love the sauces they have ... a spicy red one, and a white one.. not really sure what they are, but they taste great. but watch out, the spicy one is REALLY spicy. my boyfriend got the chicken shawerma plate, and i tried the chicken which was also really good. the restaurant also has an area with pillows and seating on the ground with a big tv, which i thought was pretty neat. overall, i had a great experience here. even though i honestly didn't know what i was eating most of the time, everything tasted GREAT. would definitely come back again !

I am eating some chicken shewarmas as I am writing. The chicken is pretty tender and juicy, but I would go for the kebab if I want it less greasy. The salad is okay, not my favorite with a bit too much oil in the dressing. I wish the rice can have a bit more flavor to it. Overall, it's alright for a lunch meal especially when I crave for MEAT (loading on protein before my 3 hour workout)!!!

This place was much better as House of Falafel. Better to drive to Cupertino to House of Falafel. The lamb shawerma wrap was a on the dry side, and it was supposed to be spicy and it wasn't. My husband's combo plate didn't have as much hummus. Their idea of a "greek salad" was huge pieces of green and red bell pepper with huge pieces of onion doused in oil and vinegar dressing. When my cousin asked for it with lettuce they came out with a plate of sad looking lettuce. I'm very disappointed this is no longer House of Falafel.

I have falafel cravings every now and then, and the default destination used to be this place which is close to my home and I used to get fair service and good food. Slowly this place is getting worse every time I visit. Tonight was the last visit of mine. The dude at the counter has no knowledge of service because first he argued with me while taking the order, then did wrong calculation and charged me more than I should have paid. I realize this some time later and went back to show him how we might have calculated it wrong and then again he argued with me. I was in no mood to spoil my evening so I just walked out with my cold stale food. I am surprised that in this age of immediate reputation, how restaurants can afford to provide poor service and still make money. oh yeah, they recover it with increased prices. Lamb in yogurt dish here costs whopping $13.99 for a restaurant that is at best a take-out.

I am a big fan of falafel and I am so happy a quality falafel restaurant is next door to a yoga studio and less than 10 min drive from the bank and doggy groomer. The falafel is fresh and not greasy. Also foul, an Egyptian dish is served and this is the first place in the south bay I have seen it. If you like falafel, you will like it here. It is packed during lunch hour.

I've been to the one in Cupertino many times but tonight was my first time at the Sunnyvale one. I really had no idea it was here, even though I've been to 24 Hour and St Johns in the same minimall. Go figure. It was Monday night and the place was empty except for maybe one customer and a small group that seemed to be the family that owns the place. Ethnic music was blasting and the place was a bit cold. I ordered a falafel plate and a beef shish kebab wrap. It took about 5 minutes to come out. I wasn't really upset over this since they had no customers, they had to make everything from "scratch". The wrap was pretty good. By itself it was a 4. Comparable to any good burrito in heft, the wrap was dense and flavorful with a nice little crunch to it. The falafel was not as good. These are very different from the ones in Cupertino. Cupertino ones are balls about the size of a golfball. These were poo-shaped, more like swollen almond rocas than anything. They were a little too crispy and brown and hard and had sesame seeds on the outside. It almost didn't seem like it was made of chickpeas thanks to the rather thick fried coating. Maybe it's because of takeout, but the accompanying sauce is watery and not very flavorful. I much prefer the tahine and garlic sauces. It was OK but I know there are much better falafel places, including the sister store that is very close to work.

See, now this is an excellent example of good food in a less than stellar location. The restaurant is set up like a high school cafeteria, and at lunch you often have to sit down at an unbussed table if you want to dine in, but the food is terrific and worth waiting for someone to come by and clear the table off. Falafel Bite proves that good food doesn't have to be expensive or served on a ceramic plate. And for a place that's so busy, they're still very quick getting the food out to you.

OK, so I haven't eaten here since they changed their name from House of Falafel to Falafel Bite. I'm hoping the quality of the food stayed the same or got better. I'm going to try to eat here again soon to see how it compares. In the old incarnation it was pretty good. I tried quite a few of the dishes on the menu, but one thing that kept me coming back was the Lamb Shwarma Salad. I do the low-carb diet thing from time to time and it can be challenging to find a variety of restaurant food that is low-carb. The lamb schwarma salad was pretty low-carb if you don't eat the pita bread they sometimes serve with it (I got free pita at times and not at other times) and it's very tasty and spicy with lots of olives and pickled turnip. I like it with extra yogurt sauce too. It can get very crowded here at lunch time, at least it used to, and I'm not a fan of crowds so I try to eat lunch either early or late.

My friend and I ate here for lunch yesterday. Some parts of the place read Falafel Bite, while some read House of Falafel. I was confused. He had the chicken shawerma plate, and I had the shish kebob plate. We both had the worst case of diarrhea later that same evening. My friend threw up EVERYTHING he ate, and I wanted to throw up but was able to keep it down by taking anti-nausea medication, but the runs are still here till the next morning. Good luck.

Ordered the Falafel Salad. Good price. But just okay. Falafel only 3 star. Take out in Styrofoam box :(( To many pickels in the salad and all iceberg lettuce... falafel broken up over salad and not packaged separately from salad on take out... make sure to ask if you order salad. Also ask to pack Tahini dressing separately, otherwise everything gets mushy if you do take out. Bottom line: Decent but not the best Falafel in my opinion. Also had the Baklava, eh again only 3 stars. Overall, the falafel probably tastes best if you eat at their numerous tables rather than take out.

House Falafel wrap is the bomb! The difference between the regular ole falafel wrap and the House version is grilled eggplant. I never have managed to TOUCH an eggplant, much less slice it and cook it - so for 50 cents more, HoF can add it for me! yaay! The wrap is over a foot long, with very nice greens and tomato, the falafels were heavenly b/c they weren't dry at all but has a unique crunch, and I can get the wrap spicy! I am soooo happy my coworkers took me here - I had to be the pain the arse b/c it was Friday which means no meat Lent Friday....ooh la la. I may be just coming here alone on Fridays! Not sure about the credit card minimum though - the super nice guy said there's one but didn't specify how much.

I've been coming here since it was called House of Falafel and I have never never never been dissapointed. We stick to the shawermas (both rolls or plates) as well as the falafels. The Special falafel sandwich is DA BOMB! if you are vegeterian. Only thing to be aware of is... the place has no ventilation and when you go there... you'll be smoked... literally you will smell like a mediterranean cook after you're done! Enjoy!

My friends order take out form here a lot, and they swear by this place. Its not really my type of food, so I play it safe and order the Chicken Shwerma. Order it and make sure you pick up the spicy red sauce they keep in the fridge to the right of the counter - good stuff. For the price of the meal the food is pretty good, and all the dudes working there were pretty nice - i mean i didn't have an extended conversation with them, but our interaction was pleasant enough to base this judgment on. I didn't wait too long for food so I cant comment on that, but sometimes we call in advance before we pick it up. The restaurant is kind of hidden. The parking lot is off of El Camino and behind a tiny strip mall. Now that I think of it - Everything I've ordered has been take out, every time - but there is seating for you and your group if you wanted to stay and eat. They have a corner area with floor seating - and they also have a huge flat screen TV, but I've never seen it on. Give it a shot.

Falafel Bite (they are in silicon valley... maybe they should have gone with Falafel Byte?), formerly House of Falafel, is within walking distance of my apartment and is heavy in my rotation. The former owners sold it to a family who are all very nice and seem to be taking the place in a bit of a new direction. The inside is very large, as other yelpers have pointed out, but I have only seen it fill up during lunch time. Also, the new owners revamped the lounge area. They've added a nice TV and surround sound, which can be enjoyed from couches and pillows in the corner near the television. I cannot speak for the quality of the eponymous dish (I am too much of a carnivore to pass on some lamb), but the lamb shawarma wrap, which I almost always get, is very good. The wrapping has a nice subtle crunch to it, and the lamb is always tasty and tender. They can sometimes go overboard with the Tahini sauce, but, if you ask them, they will tone it down for you. Oh and I've never been a dessert guy, but i ALWAYS get a piece of baklava, which is baked fresh every day. And it's delicious. Falafel Bite has fed me on many a nite, and it has never let me down.

Two words: Slow Service --I can't imagine being here when it gets really crowded..I bet you'd have to wait a 1/2 hour just to get a quick dish --I went this Saturday afternoon and it wasn't too busy..actually, everyone in the place was already eating so I figured service would be somewhat fast..it took about 20 min, which isn't too bad but if you're going to take that long, I expected my chicken wrap to be hot and it wasn't --decor is decent and has nice big pictures of various plates/entrees..service is pretty friendly..everything was clean except for the bathroom (someone clogged it, nasty) --this place overall is decent but i've had better wraps at pretty much every other location..plus with slow service and lack of hot piping food, it only deserves 3 stars

I really liked this place. I had a falafel sandwich here. I tried their tahini sauce and the hot sauce as well. The food was good and the service was also very good. Although I did have better food before, its not bad at all. The guy who took my order was very nice and hospitable. The tahini sauce though tasted like paste (ive had good tahini sauce before) and the hot sauce was Siracha sauce that you would get at any asian store. But they had a really good selection of Arabic food. The shawarma looked authentic and they are also open EVERYDAY from 10.00am to 10.00pm so when you have that late night craving for dolmah or falafel - this is the place to go. They also make several other middle eastern favs. like bhaklava, Knafeh, biryani etc...This is a must try place!

Kefta Kebob Wrap W/ Hummus! The hummus here is delicious. Be sure to order an extra side of hummus to snack on. The kefta kebob is delicious and perfectly seasoned. For some reason everytime I come here, there's an EMT or firemen around. I guess it's a hot spot for people who save lives.

I was hoping to like this place because it seemed like a happening joint for lunch because of the crowd. I ordered the Mediterranean salad and a Turkish coffee. I seriously think that they were harvesting my lettuce from another state and were busy plucking the chickens for my colleagues' kebab..because it took over 25 min for us to get our food. To top off the very slow service...my salad was awful. Seriously....I usually like dressing with my salad...not salad with my dressing. Not only was the salad a heaping pile of dressing......the dressing wasn't even good. Way too tart. Oh and the Turkish coffee was a waste of money. It comes in a teenie weenie cup with some sort of strange aftertaste.

my roommate was saying how good the chicken was here, so we can one night to give it a try, but they were sold out. so I ordered the gyros combo and a side of baba ghanoush. the gyro was aight, but dry, the baba ghanoush was pretty bitter, they prob did not sweat the eggplants. guess Imma have to come back to try the chicken. oh yeah, one of the waiter guys kept bringing out food to the wrong table.

We went there for a group lunch with 10+ people and they seated us in the corner with coffee tables and sofa. So we didn't sit comfortably and the team members didn't get much a chance to talk with each other during the lunch. Thumb dow for that. I thought they could've combined the small tables for us to sit comfortably. I ordered kefta kabob combo plate. Read great reviews of it but I just found it so so. The appearance wasn't great. The taste was so so. I've had better mediterranean food before, like Arya in Cupertino, or Chelokobabi (?) in Sunnyvale.

Haven't dined-in at this restaurant yet and have only ordered for take-out. I've tried the chicken shih kebob which comes with a salad, hummus, pita and rice and that was very very good. I really wish they had a spicy chicken option, though. The chicken was cooked perfectly and the rice was nice and fluffy. I loved the light tangy dressing in the salad but the pita was a bit too hard for my taste. The garlic fries were very garlic-y, which I love, but when I eat fried goodies, I need for the oil that it's cooked in to be fresh and it wasn't very fresh in this case. Fries were a little brownish and tasted of old oil. I hate that. I do believe that the restaurant needs to be better maintained, in terms of cleanliness, but it's these little dusty non-descript establishments that often serve delicious and authentic foods. The guy who took my order was incredibly friendly, which I always appreciate. Falafel Bite is definitely my go-to Mediterrenean restaurant.

KNAFEH was the best, infact the first time I tried this dessert but trust me it was was so yummyyyy.... Writing this review just coming back from a nice Lunch. We had a combination plate of Lamb Shawerma & a Chicken Shish Kabob wrap. And everything was super flavored & nicely cooked. There dine-in is little ordinary, but definitely recommended for a Lunch. Taste wise better than Dish-dash at Sunnyvale downtown :)

This location is under new management. Although I have never been here under the old management, I have heard the food is much better now. I went here for lunch about a month ago (fasting these days so wont be able to have lunch again for another couple weeks!), and the food was very good. We had a large group and the service was pretty fast. Good size portions and reasonable prices. Definitely recommended.

Another Discovery with Michael C. and Cindy N. and "quick and simple lunch" was the order of the day. This place is fast and good. But parking at lunch time is a real hassle. So I'd recommend going a little early or a little late to make sure you can quickly find a spot. The restaurant is not very large and you basically order food at the register and get a number so they can find you when the food is ready. Though it was my first time here, Michael's been here plenty of times and said it was usual for this place to have long lines. Today, we were lucky and were able to order almost right away. We shared the food, and today we selected: - 12 piece Falafel appetizers - Chicken Shawerma wrap Seasoned, slowly roasted chicken, shaved thinly, served w/ lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, onions, & tahini - Kefta Kabob Ground lamb grilled, served w/ lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, onions, & tahini - Lamb Shawerma Seasoned, slowly roasted lamb, shaved thinly, served w/ lettuce, tomatoes, parsley, onions, & tahini This place certainly isn't one I will avoid, but I wasn't particularly satisfied with the food. The place is called House of Falafel, so I expected a really good Falafel, but it was really dry and none of the crusted herb flavors came through really well, giving it a bland flavor, more so than the Greek restaurant on Tasman. Oh well. The other dishes were pretty good though. My favorite of the day was probably the Chicken Shawerma wrap. I'm not a huge fan of wraps, but the chicken was definitely really good compared to the Lamb Shawerma plate and Kefta Kabob. Having said that, the latter two dishes were just fine. I may come here again, but next time, I'll order anything but the namesake.

First, the food... I would agree with Bob C's review... the food was a bit dry. The falafel plate was just okay (nothing to write home to Mom about). ;) The salad was absolutely lame... dried lettuce, sliced pickles and onions = BLEH. The sauce on the table is definitely a good thing, plan on using a lot of it. Second, the atmosphere... This place was clean and there was no problem finding a seat for me and my friend. They even had a corner with large puffy couches to sit on. That's where the cool kids eat falafels. Third, the service... No complaints here. They were nice and fast. Overall I'll probably keep searching for the ultimate falafel joint, but this place will do in a pinch.

Owners are wonderful and food is excellent!! They use higher quality meat than competitors. Imported spices and everything is made right there. Baklava is the best!!!! They can get busy during lunch hour but there is a reason for that people!!! The food is great and worth the wait. Everything is bright and clean! This is my family's favorite place to eat when they are in town. We keep trying to find similar quality food but Falafel Bite has set the bar so high we have not found anywhere that comes close!

This place can be hard to find if you don't know the area. The most obvious landmark is the 24 Hour fitness that you can see from Lawrence. It is located one building next to said gym, next to Subway and a Thai restaurant. I've been coming here for six or seven months now. It hasn't disappointed me yet. I usually order the lamb kefta plate. Very decent portions for the price. Service is friendly. Nothing to complain about really. A great place to come to for your Middle Eastern food fix. Try it out. They are open til 10:00pm. (helps the late night techies a lot)

Not great, not bad. I order the lamb wrap, and the meat was a bit tough and hard to chew through. First few bites were good, but got worse as I got to the bottom of the wrap. For a quick cheap bite though, its hard to knock this place.

After being on a gyro craze over the past week I decided to come here as it is really close to my work and all the great reviews. I invited my boss and my co-worker to come along to try it, too. We got there at 12 on the dot and the line was already about 8 people long. What was cool was that they had a guy taking our orders while we were standing in line, so really we were just waiting to pay. This helped a lot because after we paid our food only took about 2 minutes. My boss and I ordered the lamb shewarma gyro's and my co-worker ordered the lamb shewarma plate. We all loved our food. The 2 sauces (white & red) that were on the table were great accompaniments. 1 squeeze of each with each bite did the trick! The meat was tender and flavorful and the wrap was grilled to a lovely crisp. No soggy, dripping mess here! Also, they were huge! I almost had to force feed myself to finish it...it was on par with a super burrito at El Grullense Taqueria lol. Next time I may try the lamb shewarma plate because it looked so darn tasty. I also got a baklava that was pretty good in size. However, it wasn't really too my liking. It was soggy in the middle, so I couldn't really enjoy it. I like my baklava crispy & flaky! Overall, we had a great meal here. The food was amazingly good, (minus the baklava), prices were right, the wait was good, they had the A/C blasting, and I can't forget to mention that in the front of the restaurant they have a seating area on the floor! Cute! Hands down this is the best gyro spot ever...go ahead and quote me on this one! =)

My office used to frequent this place in the past few years, but sad to say that the quality has gone down and the prices have risen. I ordered the Veggie Biryana, which comes out to nearly $10 (with tax) for a plate of rice and slim pickings of vegetables. Sorry to say I don't think I'll be bringing my $10 back to Falafel Bite. For a super yummy and much more reasonably priced option, I recommend Sunnyvale Cafe!

Awesome falafel - fresh, crispy, light, delicious. The staff are really friendly.

Located just north of Central, amidst an office park, House of Falafel is pretty unassuming. However, the huge crowd during weekday lunch begs to differ. It was pretty much standing room only today and after a quick scan of the room I decided to get my order to go. The house falafel wrap (falafel, tomatoes, lettuce, eggplant and tahini) came to just over $7 including tax. Surprisingly, the falafel stayed pretty crisp during the drive home; I was expecting the thing to be a soggy mess. I was a little disappointed after seeing some of the non-vegetarian wraps - those were definitely huge - while the house falafel seemed about 2/3 of the size. Still a decent deal, though. The hot sauce added a nice kick too. The wraps don't seem much more economical than the plates, with prices differing only by $1-2. Would definitely stop by again if I was in the area, but I'm not sure I would trek all the way out to the middle of Sunnyvale just for their falafel. A strong 3.5 stars, but not quite into 4 star range for me. YMMV.

Have been here about once a month since last summer, back when it used to be "House of Falafel 2". Now, they have a easier to read menu, but nothing much has changed. The Vegetarian Plate is delicious, with about 6 falafel "eggs" (they are shaped like eggs..., generous helpings of hummus, tabbouleh salad, a couple of dolmas and warmed pita... YUM. I really like the lamb shawerma wrap, its lamb, salad, onions and tomato wrapped in a toasted-on-the-grill lavash bread. I like the toasty, crunchy goodness... Something I REALLY LOVE about this spot is the fact that they have squeeze bottles for table use filled with tahini or chili sauce. So if you're a tahini and chili sauce freak like I am, this place will surely make you happy. All in all, go for the food, strictly for the food. Don't mind the decor... it's more of a lunch place, than a dinner spot...

So I decided to try this place out because I was having this itching craving for anything falafel! I knew this place was here but I dont know why i never got around to trying it. But anywaaays, went on a Saturday afternooon around 1 and the place was pretty much empty and no line. Wooot wooot. Ordered a falafel wrap and the guy was nice enough to give me a brochure & was patient when I asked questions. Soo huge plus there! Waited maybe 10 minutes for my food, which i dont know if thats too slow? But besides the point, the lady was nice enough to hand me my order and not call out my number. Went home & took a bite into a generous amount of falafels in my wrap! I was super happppy! I gave this review 4 stars instead of 5 because I compared it to my other falafel experience which was sooo goooood...but its all the way in SJ. But for now, this is close to home & I wil definnately come back when those cravings come to attack me!

Popped over here when the line at Pad Thai was to long. Wasn't disappointed at all. Food is delicious and the deserts are awesome too. YUMMY! To bad the parking is a pain at lunch if you don't get here early.

This location is right around the corner from our house so it's too bad I don't like it more. The chicken shawerma is probably the most tender I've had, but the lamb shawerma and kefta are always dry. And why, oh why, is the fried eggplant in your house falafel wrap always WAY OVERSALTED and practically burnt? I've had better experience with the food at the Stevens Creek location.

I had a falafel wrap. Good tasting falafel wrapped with tomato lettuce and hummus in lavosh. Spicy sauce was also very good.

Excellent little Middle Eastern restaurant. Due to the location, this place is swarming with local tech people at lunch (in case you're hunting for a middle-aged nerd - but please don't hit on my husband, who is a hot middle-aged nerd). You order at the counter and the line moves quickly, even at peak times, but if you want take-out I would recommend calling in your order so you don't have to wait in line and then wait for your food. Falafels are as they should be: bright green on the inside. Salad is a nice filler for your pita (I wish it had more beets, but I'm guessing few others do). Vegetarian items are clearly marked on the menu (yay!). They serve halal meat. This is my husband's favorite lunch-time restaurant in the area. He usually gets the beef kabob wrap. I think the easiest way to get here is to head east on Arques and make a U-turn at the first place you can after Lawrence. Then turn right into the driveway just before Lawrence. You will see it on the left. There is also a Thai place next door.

The food here is good and the price reasonable. And it at least *seems* much cleaner than the Cupertino location. A good choice for lunch in the area.

Menu Item: Chicken Shawarma - comes with light "salad", more like a side pile you'd get for your burger, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, a pickle wedge (o_O? yeah...still got me on that one...), and a few olives - hummus - love their hummus and it comes with hot pitas. - spiced rice - good - chicken is very tasty. It's spicey in that it has a lot of flavor and spice, but isn't hot spicey. It can sometimes be on the dry side, but is still very good. *EDITS* Lately, the chicken has been really dry. - a very large portion for ~$10 and very splittable with an appetizer - Menu Item Rating: 3.75 Awesome: - Inexpensive and rather large portions (split-able with a side) - Yummy - Had lamb wrap and it was great!!! Yummy lambie! =D Lots of meat, but not like gnawing off a side of some poor sheep. Good blend of spices. - comes with HOT side order of pita for sharing with the table. - also have a yummy looking veggie menu. - took a group from one brick there and lots of room for big groups. Sucks: - There was a new worker and the person at the counter was ragging on him the whole time. Sadness. =( Poor new guy...didn't even know English EDITS: ANNOUNCEMENT: I was in there over the weekend. And they are BREAKING AWAY (very Kelly Clarkson) from the other House of Falafel (the one in Cupertino) and are going to Falafel Bite. Things have already seemed to change. They are repainting the place (no more orange walls) big huge mural. We'll see how the food is on the other side of things. AS OF EARLY JULY: $15 minimum for credit card

I was generally impressed with my experience at Falafel Bite. Came here on a rainy Sunday so it wasn't that crowded. Had the chicken shawerma plate. Came with chicken, rice, hummus, pita bread, and salad. I thought it tasted good and my buddies remarked that their kebab plates were delicious as well. Service seemed good for that style of restaurant. Workers there seemed friendly. There are a few TVs and I believe a couch in the dining area. Overall, I liked it.

I've really come to like this place. The chicken shawerma is nicely spiced and has yet to disappoint me. The falafel ball appetizer plate is really generous and a crowd pleaser when I go with work people. The hummus and tahini sauce are well above average too. When you get the hummus appetizer to go they give you a lot more , so think about taking one with you instead of getting it at the grocery store. The salads are kinda bad, but there are plenty of other good options on the menu. P.S. I like being able to go to a restaurant and watch Al Jazeera for a few minutes. Who knew that Al Jazeera was pretty normal and not some propaganda machine like Fox News? It's more like the BBC. See? I *learned* something at House of Falafel.

My son and I went here for dinner on a Tuesday and weren't terribly impressed. He had the Gyros plate and I had the house falafel and we ordered babganouj on the side. The falafel was "OK" but nothing special -- the balls were a bit on the soft side with little crunch, and the wrap had a very small amount of lettuce and the ends of tomatoes rather than good slices. The gyros plate was OK, but the amount of meat was rather disappointing. The babaganouj was rather poor-- very little olive oil, none of that smoky taste a good babaganouj has, and a lot of lumps. Also, it was rather more bitter than necessary. All in all, we found it rather pedestrian...

House of Falafel is crack! Im fiendin' bad for this place on a weekly basis. I always keep telling myself to order something different, but I always end up getting the chicken shawerma cause its soo dam good. The cost $8.99, and you get a very generous amount of grub on the plate. The Sunnyvale location is alot bigger than the Cupertino one. Pretty nice decor, and a couple of nice comfortable looking couches sittin in front of a big screen t.v. bumpin some middle eastern jams. Im gonna bring a couple of friends down here next time and see if they do bottle service.

Yum-O! I luv mediterranean food. It tastes so healthy. This place is great. I went here with my girlfriend and it is great cheap eats. I had the chicken kabob plate and she had the chicken shawerma plate. Then we shared 2 baklavas: walnut and pistachios. Both to die for. Definitely be back again.

RATING: 3.5 Stars OVERVIEW: A very decent quick lunch spot and a good value. FOOD: Good. The falafel was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside.... not overcooked. The chicken shawerma was good but the seasoning didn't have much pop. SERVICE: Good. The format is "order at the counter and it's delivered to your table". ATMOSPHERE: Clean but nothing fancy. Vinyl table covering says it all. But there is a nice floor pillow area and a big screen TV. VALUE: Very Good. The plates have large portions for about $10. PARKING: Bad. There is a lot of traffic in the surrounding strip mall and inadequate parking. Walk if you can. A friend ordered the Falafel Plate which came with 6-8 large falafel, Mediterranean salad, hummus, rice pilaf and pita bread. I had the Chicken Shawerma Plate which included the same sides as above. The falafel was very well prepared... crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The chicken shawerma was good but I expected more flavor from the seasoning. The hummus was tasty but the salad was just alright. We also shared a baklava which was decent but not great. It was flaky and not too sweet but tasted a little undercooked and just slightly dry. Needed a touch more honey. The self-serve hot tea with mint leaves was very good. There's not much service since you order at the counter, you get a number and the food is delivered to your table. The space is clean but just a step above "cafeteria". However, there is a cool floor pillow area with two low tables and a big screen TV.

Biryanis, falafel plate/wraps and skewers etc are safe bets, good and consistent. The Baklava especially when it comes in fresh is excellent as well. Good food at a good price.

Since my last visit, they remodeled a bit and if you've seen the place before, then anything would be considered an upgrade. I normally go with the chicken or lamb shawerma wrap and for $7, you can't go wrong. This thing is crazy delicious. And it's huge. Make sure to grab a breath mint when you're done 'cus the smell lingers after. After our meal, my friend wanted some baklava to-go so she went up to the register and asked for one. Unfortunately she only had credit on hand. (apparently they charge your card if you don't spend more than $6 or something) The man at the register was kind enough to give her one for free. It must've been her feminine ooglies because I've never gotten anything for free by any means. I wish I had some.

Huge wraps. I got the chicken and it was a bit dry. Not the best. I like Gyros N Gyros in Palo Alto on University although they're a bit pricier than here. Not sure if I'll be back...

Ordered that lamb kabob plate. Meat was tougher than shit. Rice was good. Hummus was good. Restaurant environment was good, really packed with people during the lunch time rush. Walls had crappy middle eastern painting, but there was this cool little seating area in the corner with pillows and stuff. It was a little pricey around $11 for the meal. I wouldn't go back unless coworkers decided to go back for some weird reason.
