They have one of the best Vijayawada Biryani and Paneer in bay area. I like them so much that I never even tried anything else there I just wish that the maintain the place better .

  • Ragvendor P.

I've rated this place 5/5 for the food. I've been traveling across states and this is by far the best authentic Indian biriyani you get. Specialities include the vijayvada biriyani and kothu parotta. The taste is pretty consistent which I noticed, lacks in many places, kudos to the chefs.

    (5)
  • Saisujith R.

I liked the chicken hydearbadi biriyani better than vijayawada chicken biriyani. Customer service is not that great. Guy at the reception seems to be doing multi taking with no fruitful results.

    (3)
  • Naresh C.

Very very poor customer service!! The guy doesn't care for the customer. He just threw my card instead of asking for another card. I'll never ever go to this place again

  • Andy S.

This place is in an Indian grocery store. It's a small, very unassuming place. I ordered the special which said something like non veg combo. I ordered it and the man behind the counter came out to read it. I'm not 100% sure what I had. I think I had paratha which is some type of bread that seemed fried with a chicken korma. The chicken dish was very good but also very spicy. I had never had the bread before and I really liked it. The kitchen looked very small and more like someone's house kitchen than a restaurant. I enjoyed my experience.

    (5)
  • Kamesh K.

Extremely poor customer service, they don't serve the dishes all the dishes on their menu. When you call in the person on the phone is extremely rude and has no sense of how to speak to a customer. The kitchen looks very unhygienic, they really need to upgrade their understanding of customer service and basic etiquette. Even though the food tastes decent I would not go there just because of their unprofessional service!!

  • Anushaik S.

Chicken Manchurian is a big disaster, never order one. By the way Vijayawada Biryani is really good here for which i can give 4 stars and for Chicken Manchurian 0, that comes to a mere one star rating overall :)

    (1)
  • Manoj N.

Never going to recommend this place to anyone! worst customer service I have seen! Guy at the counter is very arrogant and ridiculous.Worst place food is average!

    (1)
  • Shubham J.

The Vijay wada biryani is not great at all. Its just chilly chicken and biryani mixed together. But that's not the bad part. The chicken it comes with is hard and chewy. Will probably not visit this place again .

  • Satya T.

Please avoid this place unless you want cockroaches in your food! I got a cockroach in my biryani and imagine how disgusting it is to find out after you have eaten half of the dish! Later, I was shocked to find out that this place was shut down twice in the period of 3 months by Department of Environmental Health. You can have a look at their official inspection reports here: sccgov.org/sites/deh/Fac… sccgov.org/sites/deh/Fac… Clearly even after getting shut down twice, they haven't improved their conditions. Please avoid this place at any cost. Not at all worth having such unhygenic food.

    (1)
  • Edwin Vijay R.

Extremely unhygienic place. Please avoid. Have a look at the kitchen and you will get a fair idea of how clean it is. I found a COCKROACH in my egg noodle. I am adding a picture of it.

  • Deepak S.

Vijayawada Chicken Briyani is the one that keeps me bringing back to this place. Lunch Buffet is also good. But gets filled in and hard to find place to sit. Not an optimum restaurant environment , but definitely worth good food.

2.5 stars. I leaned in the direction of 3 because I was given consideration for them being unable to fulfill more than half of my order. Modest in appearance is a kind understatement; it looks gross. When I walked up to the order counter, I was tempted to walk around and leave as it didn't appear hygienic. I know that dirty surroundings don't necessarily translate to unclean food, so I gave it a chance. They were prompt in taking my order, but not quick to fill it. Problems kept cropping up. Three times throughout my 20-min. wait they mentioned that they were either out of or couldn't prepare things I'd ordered. Each time I considered leaving; it seemed so pointless to wait around. For my trouble, they did throw in an order of rice for free. That was very nice of them. As for how the food turned out, the tikka masala was fabulously spicy. As hot as I love it, so that was great. However, the chicken was that bright pink kind you find at sub-par buffets. Too creepy. The rice was plain and perfect. The parathas were fresh and delicious; couldn't be better. The spices they use are highly potent because I was smelling myself for three days afterward! I don't usually smell after eating Indian food but I sure did this time. That could be good or bad depending on if you like the smell. It was a good quantity of food for the price, but them being out of key components of my order, along with the poor cleanliness were negative factors for me. Don't think I'll go back. It's a shame, as the location is ideal. FYI, I didn't do the buffet but looked around, and the foods are not labeled. There is ample room to sit but I didn't feel especially welcome. I waited on the bench near the order area.

The boneless biryani continues to amaze! Everytime it is as good as it gets.

    (5)
  • Sai Teja S.

Best biryani I had in bay area.

    (5)
  • Giridharkumar G.

best paneer biryani ever!!!!! love this place

    (5)
  • Punit A.

eaten their vijaywada biryani a million times and still can't stop, though it's spicy as hell ;)

    (5)
  • Sambit T.

Tried the goat Biriyani. Value for money, lot of pieces, mostly boneless just for ~$11. It is not that spicey yet has a natural Biriyani taste.

    (4)
  • Jay T.

I ordered kadai paneer and gobi manchuriean it was okay...but their kitchen is sooooo dirty not clean..might not go there again

    (2)
  • Nikhila P.

The food was okay but not as good as Bawarchi, Sacta Clara. Went to Bawarchi Sunnyvale only because the one at Santa Clara is closed on Sundays. The service at Sunnyvale bawarchi is terrible. I ordered food to go and they asked for 20 mins time. I went there after like 35 mins, yet my order wasn't ready. When asked the guy at the counter , he was soo reckless to even answer properly but finally ended up saying "your order token was misplaced". I would have never gone to a place like this ,had I known of this service. Would suggest to opt for Santa Clara bawarchi anyday.

    (2)
  • Satyam K.

Panner biriyani is 10/10. I am from hyderabad, I know how exactly different flavors birianis tastes like. I have tried biriyani almost every other place. This is the best place for Panner biriyani. Just go for it.

    (5)
  • Surya K.

Awesome food great customer service ,this is really worth full food in Bay Area I love vijajayavada biryani

    (5)
  • Shriller M.

Anything you order after 8pm...good luck to your health...they are v busy so they dont maintain any quality... the oil they use made me sick..i used to like this place v much but now their attitude and food quality has gotten v bad.... i think they use same pan/oil for veg and non veg frying so be aware...and good luck!!

    (2)
  • Jay P.

The vijayawada biriyani here is one of the best we had in US. They are also very prompt and the food is normally ready for take out by the time you reach their place. However, the ambience is not good for dining and we prefer only take out.

    (5)
  • Shaveen K.

The Vijayawada chicken biryani is probably the best in Sunnyvale. I would give this place 5 stars for the food but the ambience is just terrible.

    (4)
  • Sanjay S.

Hyderabad cuisine. It's simple and inexpensive. Ideal for lunch. Nice place to have some hot dum biriyani. Food is spicy so beware. The ambience is not that great.

    (4)
  • Mukul S.

One of the best chicken biryani around Sunnyvale. I've tried various biryani here and I would rate them as: Veg - 5/10 Paneer - 7/10 Chicken - 8/10 Vijaywada - 9/10

    (5)
  • Tejaswi M.

Went to this place to pick Non-Veg family combo order it through phone. When I checked the price online, it is 19.99$ for Non-Veg combo. But when I went there to pay, the guy charged me 20.99$ + 4$, I was surprised to see this. I asked him why did he charged 20.99$ for Non-Veg and he explained that they increased the prices, then I asked him why did he charged 4$ extra for soda, he said that is subcharge they charge for Combo packs. I asked if I get a soda he said NO. You guys can do business but there shouldnt be any scam. I mean to say just for 4$ you shouldnt be showing this kind of mentality. I hope you do business in a righteous way or eslse sooner or later you will get screwed.

    (1)
  • Nick V.

Hands down the best Vijaywada Biryani. If you like dum biryani then you might not appreciate it but boy do I love it. I am not sure about other items served here ...

    (4)
  • Zdm E.

Absolutely love the food. I wish I could give 5 stars. Taking one star away since some personnel at the counter are let me just say "unsophisticated" in terms of etiquette. They are not very good in terms of giving a "pleasant smile" or talking with "polite english". one might find them brusque or brash. On the other hand there are one or two good guys who are polite. They treat you to a free buffet on point basis (FIVE STARS loyalty system). I got couple of free buffets so far. Coming to the food. Great "South" indian food (Please note the word South). Best part is that it has good authentic cooks from Chennai and Andhra. As a result you get great combination of both Chennai/Tamil Nadu entrees and Andhra style food as well. For example: 1) Malabar parattha (typical Tamil Nadu/Chenni style. You won't generally get it in Andhra) 2) Vijayawada Chicken Biriyani (quintessential Andhra style, spiciest ever!!! :) ) 3) Kothu parattha ( Again typical Tamil Nadu/Chennai) 4) Andhra chicken curry (Typical andhra style) Having said that, this place is not for going on a date night with your wife or family for that matter. But it is a place for those who are in Friday mood and miss the south indian spice punch if you know what I am talkinabout. If you are from North India and can't stand their spice and heat then spare your precious behind (pun intended LOL) and relegate yourself to a Shan biriyani. Otherwise your behind will be on fire the next day.

    (4)
  • Preeja N.

This place is great for vijyawada chicken biriyani.

    (5)
  • Teja G.

It's Saturday around 12 o clock in the afternoon and they don't have any goat, half the chicken dishes we can't purchase and the cook looks unhygienic. Hopefully the food is good.

    (2)
  • Somanagouda P.

Horrible feeling when I went near to hotel. Hygienic quotient is zero and really get scared to eat food over there. Taste is OK and how one can write hidden gem!! It's take away shop and I don't recommend .

    (1)
  • Jay M.

This is the best place for Biryani in the bay area, I always get Panner Biryani, its spicy and very tasty, the flavors will have a lasting effect even after finishing the Biryani. They have a combo package which includes 2 Biryani and a appetizer, which is a bargain. I have went back many times and its been consistent, I have been never disappointed. However customer service is little bit on the down side, the packaging materials they use for to go orders are cheap quality.

    (5)
  • Shravan B.

This is my first yelp review and I'm disappointed that it has to be a 1-star. We ordered the vijayawada spl dum chicken biryani and the chicken Manchurian. I'm not sure what people are raving about but the food is quite terrible. The biryani has old stale bright pink chicken pieces with little flavor. And the chicken Manchurian - oh my god! It was not anything like indo-Chinese. I later told him that I had ordered the dry version. The guy takes it, simply drains it (or may be squeezes the juices) and brings it back! Anyway, this was my first time at Bawarchi and certainly the last time. I cannot speak for other dishes, but I'm not going to try. There are better restaurants with better hygiene and quality meat.

  • the night w.

I was excited to find an Indian restaurant so near my last stop ion Wednesdays; I was hoping to make it a regular after-work deal. The dal I ordered was passable - but the youngish, tallish guy at the counter seemed more into chatting with his friend than attending to me and my order. Later, the older man at the counter seemed more concerned that I hadn't ordered rice with my dal, which is fine, but I didn't get the impression they wanted my business much, so I guess I won't be going back.

    (2)
  • Nithin P.

Worst chettinad chicken I ever had. They gave me 4 chicken pieces with the biryani gravy. I would strongly recommend not to go to this place to get curries. I was pretty new to this area and didn't know about this place and found it online.

    (1)
  • Raju S.

This place is a hidden gem - hidden inside a grocery store! But dont be fooled by its modest appearance - they serve some of the best biryani here (second only to Biryani Bowl in Fremont). If you are a non-vegetarian, go for vijayawada style. If you are a vegetarian, get the paneer biryani instead of vegetable biryani. The paneer biryani is very special, the paneer is red in color with spices soaked in, I have never tasted anything like it anywhere else. They could be more generous with the "salna" :-).

    (4)
  • Diana D.

Awesome biryani, if you can handle the spice. Reducing 1 star because I too found stones in the biryani on one occasion.

    (4)
  • A N.

Oh man!!! If you are a fan of biriyani, I can bet all my intelligence and understanding of food and my judgemental taste buds, but this place has the best best best biriyani. I ordered the Family pack to-go last Friday. One Goat Biriyani, One Vijayawada Chicken Biriyani and one appetizer Chicken 65. The order took almost 20 minutes more than what was promised, but the food was the best that could ever be. Good quantity, 2 Biriyani items and Chicken 65 in less than 23 dollars. All fresh and ridiculously good tasting. I can't wait till this Friday again to go pickup good from here again. I know where the best biriyani in town is at! Thanks to Mr Ahmed and his entire crew.

  • Tania C.

Got food poisoning from their Lunch Buffet. Actually the name "Lunch buffet " is a joke. They merely have 5-6 items including rice and papad. There was no dessert AT ALL (though the label was their). Initially I thought they were filling items, but after some time they removed the labels also. And to be clear we went around 12:30 at a Sunday. And they charge $1 extra for weekend buffet compared to other days. LOL (Extra money for serving less food.) Now I come to the taste. It was written Aloo palak, but really I could not understand what was that (may be medley of leftovers!!!!).. And the "Oh so Famous" Biriyani was clearly the leftover one from God knows when!!! And that is the reason for my food poisoning. Oh yes, there was no raita as well. I gave them this 1 star for their courage and confidence to serve stale food to people. BEWARE PEOPLE!!!!

    (1)
  • Vignesh D.

Best hyderabad biriyani in bay area, especially their Vijayawada chicken biriyani !! If you don't mind the ambience or if you are getting your food to-go, then you will like this place. Service is also good, and people working here are nice.

    (4)
  • Bha V.

Food is ok. Be careful it can be very very spicy. Veg biryani was not too great . The chapathi with vegetable masala and dal was good . If you are not used to spicy food, better tell the cooks if they can reduce the chillies. Edit: BTW, this place has some serious hygiene issues. We found veg curries in those white plastic paint buckets kept near the wash room. Yuck !

    (2)
  • Deepak K.

Place is small , may not be the best "restaurant", but that apart, this place serves the best Vijaywada biryani. Period. The rice grains to the meat are perfectly cooked, the spice level is perfect, not too extremely spicy that you don't taste anything not too bland, perfect. I have travelled most of Bay Area in search of good biryani, and this one is sitting right at the top. I wish I could show u pics but I ate it all :p

    (5)
  • Balaji R.

Best biryani! Vijaywada chicken biryani is their speciality! To go is best option as dining is not so good here..

    (4)
  • Archana P.

Chicken Biryani - one of the best i have eaten in the US, and i am from Hyderabad who grew up eating Hyderabadi biryani. And then i tasted Ulavacharu biryani - its topped my biryani list. Chicken manchurian - also great ! The ambiance is not date night impressive, but the staff is friendly and nice, that makes me believe they are doing their best.

    (5)
  • Neetha B.

Best Egg biryani you will ever have!

    (5)
  • Satish B.

If you are not particular about ambiance... This is the place u will get real taste of biryani ... loved the food taste. Vijayawada Biryani is awesome :)

    (4)
  • Shubhangi Sandesh A.

Vijaywada biryani....yummmmmmmmmmm.... given a choice I wouldnt mind eating it for breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner. Never tried anything else over there coz we never get enough of the biryani.. a must try!!!!

    (5)
  • A G.

Excellent biryani, one of the best I have tasted. The meat was cooked well. I have tried a couple of their appetizers and were awesome. The butter chicken and kadai chicken are great as well. Great take-out place.

    (5)
  • Prakash N.

These guys do have good biryani and parothas. But looks like recently the management or the people have changed and now they don't make parothas all the time. Fish fry is heavily colored with red. But they tastes good. When you see the fish oddly colored red, you loose interest in eating it. Their vijaywada chicken biryani is a much try.

    (3)
  • Archan K.

Best Briyani u will ever find in California state .Gives the real taste of India .Chef Ahmed and Chef Rajan are the best chef in the town .Super friendly and knows how to Greet the customer .do check out their taste .

    (5)
  • Ashish W.

The menu is for show... they only serve biryani's... it is mostly a to-go place. Very limited seating....

    (1)
  • Jacqueline L.

Delicious and such nice people! Wonderful customer service :) samosas by register were very good also! :)

    (5)
  • Julia J.

The food is delicious and spicy. The buffet has a nice selection and a fair price. If you go here don't expect a great ambience but the food is yummy and the guys running it are very friendly.

    (4)
  • Natsu Y.

Great Southern Indian Food. I liked it a lot. :)

    (5)
  • Praveen N.

Please don't ever come here! This is the worst place I've ever eaten in. They got my order wrong and there were stones in my biriyani!!!! The roti was very hard and the paneer very oily..

    (1)
  • Vishal K.

    Biryani was ok ok

    (3)
  • Subbu G.

They had a good vijaywada biryani. Its spicy and I loved it.Typical Andhra style food. Its my favorite biryani place. I did not know they had a food service section inside the Bharat Bazar. They should advertise it better.I feel bad i missed it all these years. Its better than the Paradise biryani Pointe.

    (4)
  • Tin S.

Wow. The vijayawada chicken biriyani is awesome. It is Boneless chicken biryani which made me remember the food in Hyderabad. HATE THAT IT IS NOT AVAILABLE A LOT OF TIMES. HATE THAT IT IS PRICED AT $12. I can spend $12 ocassionally for a biryani but what if we are a gathering of 4 or 6, which for me is a case much frequently the price of 2 or 3 dollars shoot up by 15 or 20 dollars more. Just giving you 5 starts because i loved the biryani. The regular dum biryani is also nice. Not as great as the vijayawada biryani. Dum biryani I would prefer this over peacock. Don't know why it's not available a lot of times. If people like the biriyani they should make more. Initially when I went inside Bharat bazaar I saw the lunch buffet and did not like the limited variety and ordered the biryani.

This review is for Sunnyvale Bawarchi (Inside Bharat bhazar). We did not go here, but ate the food at a party, that was orrdered from here. There is something terribly wrong with the food. I ate vegetarian only on that day, some chinese noodles and fruit salad (custard). Also had vegetable biryani, palak paneer and malai kofta. Palak paneer and malai kofta are good - 4 stars there. Vegetable biryani and chinese noodles are not so good - 2 stars there. There was a weird smell and taste to the fruit custard. It was terrible - negitive stars there. I had terrible headache after eating this, and threw up later in the day and was sick for the next 24 hrs. Will never step into this place as long as i remember this experience.

  • Debashis J.

After hearing the praise especially for their Biryani I went to have a dinnere with my wife. The vijaywada biryani was really awesome. It was spicy. So if u do not like spice then do mention the same over the counter. We ordered a dosa as one biryani was not enough for two people.Dosa was again good but the sambhar was extra spicy..too hot to handle. My wife liked it though. Will recommend.

    (3)
  • CS C.

They have awesome Vijaywada Biryani! Ordered thei sabji once, its very mediocre and passable. The 4 stars are for their Biryani and nothing else.

    (4)
  • Sandeep K.

Vijaywada Spl Biryani !!! Best ever !!

    (5)
  • Teja B.

Of late, the South bay Indian restaurants do not truly have stood to my expectations( read Peacock and Athidi). Bawarchi has filled in that gap. All though not the bestest of the biryani i have had in the bay area, the food is decent and well priced. I frequent this place quite a lot because, its pretty close. The portions are not huge(maybe i am big eater) but then the taste is good. I have tried their Parata, Chicken Dum Biryani and the Vijawada Chicken Biryani. Wouldn't suggest this place if you are going for special dinner(since this is in an Indian Grocery store), but otherwise its a decent place to be... Won't accept Credit Cards for orders less than 15 bucks 4 Star from me :)

    (4)
  • Loosey B.

Tried this place last weekend on the recommendation of one of hubby's co-workers. I thought the food was amazing. The hot (spicy) naan was fantastic and the mattar paneer was incredible. Maybe I just like food too much, but it seems that every week we find a new restaurant that is excellent. It's a strange place, inside a store, but while waiting for the food to be cooked we were able to buy some real British goodies. We'll be going back, and definitely have another spicy naan!

    (4)
  • Vatsa S.

It's a restaurant within a grocery store. Ambience is not good. Food is ok. We ordered Egg Dum Biryani and Paneer Masala. The first Biryani they served had a small piece of bone it in. We had to send it back. The Biryani was OK and the Paneer masala was decent. We noticed that most people ordered to go.

    (3)
  • M R.

Ok...so the biriyani is good...not as good as Peacock, but good nevertheless. Where it really gets me is their service - or the lack of it. We usually take out from this place and call to order. Food is almost never ready when we get there, they have to scramble to even find the order that was placed. On top of that, the side order is always the wrong one - always!!!!! We order Chicken 65, and they put in chilli chicken - always!! It was really annoying the first time, and subsequently, it was a pain to wait for the right order...I mean ... c'mon... we have to check every single time to see if the packet contains what we ordered... We're not going back in a hurry...

  • Kim N.

I dont think a lot of people venture in here because it's actually inside the Bharat Bazar. Having been a few times now I have to say they have excellent food that is not dumbed down for American palates. The problem however is it's a crap shoot as to what they will and will not have. Im often opting for 3rd/4th choices as I get stonewalled on my original selections. Also there's not much ambiance and it seems recently they're changing the space around so there is a bit of chaos. The first time I was here I saw that they had goat brain fry like what Tony Bourdain has on the streets of India on No Reservations. Good enough for Tony? Good enough for me. It was damn tasty. You'll also find they sometimes have unusual dishes (even for Indian menus) like rabbit and venison, but again, it's a crap shoot. They cover a wide range of cuisines, dosas, desi/Chinese, kabobs, biryanis, and curries. The most recent trip the goat curry, chicken tikka masala, paneer pakora, Hyderabadi shrimp masala and Hyderabadi lamb biryani were awesome. Don't be afraid to go in here if you're looking for something that is out of the ordinary to fulfill your adventurous palate.

  • Rajan B.

Poor quality of food. Specifically for Koththu Paratta. Not consistent and it tasted like oatmeal! Spice Hut is far more better and cheaper. Oh yes, spice hut is much cleaner!

  • Sai D.

Biryani is good, occasionally chinese is good too but the service in Los Coches, MIlpitas is super bad. Usually guys are there to give your order. Sleepy and sloppy guys get your order, usually mess up and then open stuff before you to check if its the right one..simply dumb..keep asking your order 100 times.. if you want to call and order, the usual dumb guys dont answer and if you go there to order and pickup, it would take easily half hour coz our dudes mess up things or usually are too slow fooling around. Management.. fire the guys and charge us a $ more and get some trained guys to take orders and serve the food. I am not going again to this place though I used to be a regular as its pretty near to my place. Don't have too much patience in life to waste on these sleepy souls. Thx.

I liked the Veg Dum Biryani. It was really tasty and i ll come back for sure.

  • Sireesh B.

I was shopping around for catering for my baby's 1st birthday and i came to know from one of my friends that Bawarchi is good...I went ahead and talked to Srikanth from Bawarchi. He not only was pleasant to talk, he was very very helpful in selecting the menu, having the good saving tips in different orders. And, he personally came to the party hall and arranged the food (trust me it was much more food than I ve ordered)...the arrangement of food with stickies of item names were great. The highlight of my function was undoubtedly FOOD!! Thank you Bawarchi & Srikanth!!!

  • Vin J.

The only restaurant where the veg biryani is tasty & like biryani is undoubtedly bawarchi. No other restauant ppl knows how to prepare veg biryani

    (5)
  • Satish V.

This place is totally underrated! It reminded me of the food back home (Hyderabad). We had Veg Dum Biryani and it was perfect Bawarchi birayni. Don't forget to have it with the Mirchi ka salaan. But if you cannot take spicy food, this place is not for you.

    (5)
  • Ab Y.

Few years back, I ate Veg Dum biryani (it was just $5 at that time), it was good. Lately I heard that they have increased the price to $8 and the quality went down...

    (4)
  • S N.

i don't care where you are located, if the food is good, I will come. This place has some of the BEST biryani in town. The place and the food feels and tastes like food you get in India.

    (5)
  • Ashok K.

The prices in the website is wrong, last night I visited Sunnyvale (inside Barat bazzar) Bawarchi. Ordered biryani and sides. Biryani has too much oil (they charge ~ $9) but website says 6.99 same for other items. they are cheating. restrooms are not maintained properly will never go back

    (1)
  • D J.

I have had better biriyani and food and with better quality and quantity. I will not go back again to this restaurant.

    (2)
  • Sujan V.

Lunch buffet is really good and worth a try. Chicken Biriyani, Parotta with Chicken Korma are my favourites on the buffet menu.

    (4)
  • Kishore J.

I go there mainly for their Bawrachi Special Vijayawada Biryani. Its different than the regular dum biryani's we get at a lot of places in the bay area

    (4)
  • Mano B.

There are different biryani's all over bay area. This place has a pretty good chicken biryani. May be the other reviewers mentioned about the mutton biryani which is not on par with chicken biryani. Also I have tried the Vijyawada chicken biryani. Its a different flavor and awesome taste. Its made to order and it has an excellent flavor to it. The buffet here is a real cheap but very good tasting food. They have this surprise south indian dishes such as kolambu, sambar, rasam, vada, pagoda, bisibeda bath etc.. that is excellent. The south india parotta I had in this place is the best parotta in the valley, it tastes even better than anjappar parotta. Even though this place is known for biryani. This place also silently serves dosa which is really yummy. Its on par with dosa palace dosa with really good chutney and sambar. I would also try the chicken chukka, pepper chicken and request for higher spicy level if you are into more hot food. I would also try the Indo-chinese dishes like chicken fried rice, chicken manchurian and chilly chicken. That really gives a twist. Its a great to-go place to take good Indian food home..

Well this place use to serve the best biryani with good quality and consistency may be 4-5 months back...unfortunately things have changed now . May their cook changed or something its no more the thing.... Updated Review 8/17/2015 I guess they changed Management ...like their Vijaywada Biryani ...seems to be consistent so far ...its lil on spicy side though...i would give 3.5 rating ..

The only draw back of this place is... its inside a grocery shop! Other than that, its great south indian andra food. Try their chicken dum biriyani. Nice spicy chicken gravy.

We ordered food for our daughter's birthday from Bawarchi Sunnyvale. Food is excellent and every guest loved it. Their words "Just like back home". The Vijayawada biryani and Paratha was super hit. I am a regular customer now and I recommend this place, especially for take-outs.

This place has the worst Biryani in the entire bay area. The chicken is totally undercooked. Taste is plain awful. Not going back ever again.

Im a fan only for their vijayawada chicken biryani. I like it very much. Very spicy and little costly. But once in a while i go and get this biryani. Place it not nice to dine in. You can just get a to go.

I got food catered twice from this place and both times the food was very good. The food by default is on the spicy side, so if you want it milder you should ask for it. The rates were reasonable too.
