Chicken Panini is BOMB! Salads are also excellent and beautiful but I hardly ever get anything but the Chicken Panini. Must Have. Service is very friendly and attentive, without being over-attentive. Lots of nice patio seating and cute Provence/Italiano vibe inside. Lots of nice deserts. Plus, the cute all-male staff is a nice bonus for the ladies. Even if everything about this place was utterly horrible (which it is absolutely not), it would still be worth it for that SERIOUSLY GLORIOUS Chicken Panini. Can't get enough. Have been going here for 7 or 8 years for that magnificent sandwich. Keep it up, Il Tram!

I get the chicken special no chicken substitute tuna. The food is amazing here and the service is pretty great as well. Parking is easy there's a 2 hour free lot right across the street. They are also open on Friday and Saturday nights till 4am, which is a great time to come f you want to grab a late bite.

Came here for dinner on weeknight and it was pretty empty. There is street parking, both metered and free. The restaurant is small but there is both indoor and outdoor seating. During dinner, many people came and picked up food so they definitely do take-out here. Things I tried: 1. Specialty chicken panini: this was excellent. Pesto sauce was creamy in the perfect way. I tried my friend's, who unfortunately got the lettuce wrapped version. It was really good and crunchy but I really wanted to try the sandwich with the bread! 2. Penne Milano: this was pretty standard. The sauce was a bit too creamy and liquid for me, but some people like it this way. Meals come with bread. The glasses of wine are pretty cheap.

This is the perfect place for reliable low-key Italian food. The service is always on point and there's plenty of street parking as well as a few spots in their lot. All of the salads are great, my favorite is the Il Tram Chopped which you can alter to exclude or include a plethora of delicious ingredients. The Paninis are always a hit as well. No frills but good food.

Came for a friend's belated birthday celebration. It's a sweet little Italian cafe. Carbs infested. Simple sit down. Food & Drinks: Pasta, sandwiches, salads. They were good but nothing too exciting. Their marinara to pasta ratio isn't the best. Set-up & Service: Like I said, it's a little intimate cafe which is nice. One of the girls made reservations for our party but they were pretty empty on a Friday evening. The food came out fast which was good. As for the waiters, they were a bit rude. They gave attitude towards one of the guests in our party because they were rushing to bus the table but everyone was catching up with each other, so the guy in our party didn't hear the waiter when being asked for his plate. When they were bussing the table.. I don't know if it was a long day or they just weren't up for dealing with a party but they were clearing the table out very hastily where my friend and I got hit/bumped at least once each as they were passing through picking up dishes. Too much invasion of personal space & too much attitude from the waiter alone. There's plenty of better Italian cafes left to try. Not planning to revisit.

Ate here for the first time and honestly the food sucked but I'm giving 3 stars for good service, plus it was quick, and the patio was nice to sit on. Otherwise I would give 1 star... Don't get anything with 'grilled chicken breast' as you will be served cold, pre cooked processed chicken (the kind you buy pre sliced at a grocery store). That's why the food came out so quickly. Yet, my chicken salad cost $14. The chicken alfredo was really a very small portion. Like c'mon it's pasta. Pasta is cheap, why be stingy? That would have still been acceptable but then it wasn't even good so didn't justify the size. The sauce was bland and the pasta overcooked. Lastly we ordered a bread basket which sounded good but was really cold stale bread. The type you usually get for free. (They offered to warm the bread after bringing it to the table which helped a bit.) Overall wouldn't recommend.

I haven't actually been to the restaurant to eat, but I have ordered takeout! This past weekend it was raining and I was in desperate need of some comfort food. I wanted to order from Postmates and this place was on the $5 delivery fee list. They have a large menu of grilled sandwiches (panini's). Like it took me a good 20 minutes to decide on The Sicilian (mozzarella, tomatoes, avocado, arugula, and pesto), which turned out to be an amazing choice! The sandwiches are pretty pricey at $11, plus tip. It turned out to be quite large though. I was able to eat half for lunch and half for dinner. Honestly could have been the best sandwich I ever ate. The cheese was so authentic and amazing. Overall I would order from this restaurant again, or more likely go in and see how the atmosphere is. But it's just too pricey to make my "go-to" sandwich place (sad to say).

Strawberry. Arugula. Salad. So delicious! We also ordered the ravioli and it was standard flavor, nothing spectacular. The cannoli for dessert was very good. Parking wasn't very adequate, but it was a very good meal.

I wanted Mexican Food. I was tired. I needed to pee. That's how I ended up here! But with all that said, I'm glad I came in! It was my first time here. Obviously not Mexican food, I told myself I wanted pasta in lieu of. Not the widest array of pasta options, but enough to choose from. I ordered the Penne Milano which was FULL of yummy flavor and fresh! The portion size was hearty. I sat on the patio and enjoyed the nice outdoor air. Service was SO friendly! I would come back again just for the fact that they were so nice and warm. They did have lots of sandwiches and lunch options so would likely try something from that menu next time. Overall, great dinner, nice space to relax, clean bathroom. Winner!

Came here for a business lunch. Sat in the corner booth against the window with the pretty decorative pillows. Very comfortable! Ate the chicken breast panini and shared a side pasta salad with my colleague. AMAZING!!! Tender chicken, sun dried tomato, perfectly melted provolone marinated in pesto on crispy grilled bread. Best panini I've ever had! The cold pasta salad was great too and a perfect match to a warm sandwich. They have a nice covered patio but it was a bit cold. There was a heater but didn't want to bother with that. Service was great and would definitely eat there again next time I'm in the area. Cons: Parking and one bathroom. Personally I don't like using unisex bathrooms but we had a hour and half drive back home. It was kept clean though!

I love the paninis here! Tuna special and chicken special are both amazing and I love their pickled veggies and pesto. Don't forget to try their desert paninis!! Strawberry banana and Nutella panini. Delicious

I have always ordered from il tram and own a local Business walking distance and i always encourage all my employees to order and I pick it up at once. This time when I went the cashier and waiter at the front were rude, making jokes that I found condescending. He mocked me several Times Even after I told him I would not come back and I found Him rude, he mockingly said "see you tomorrow!" With that attitude good luck, I don't care how good your food is. I got illlll tram service !

This place has my all time favorite salad... When they can get it right. My husband and I love ordering delivery from here but they always seem to mess up our order. One time they forgot my salad, another time they sent me the completely wrong salad, another time they left out some of the salad toppings, another time they put the wrong cheese on the salad. Seriously, how hard is it to make a salad that's on your own menu?! As a pregnant woman with intense cravings for this salad, nothing is more frustrating than not getting what I ordered. Oh, and when we called to let them know of their error they never answer. Their phone seems to just ring and ring. 5 stars for my salad - 2 stars for service = 3 frustrated stars And yes, I'm writing this venting review after NOT enjoying the incorrect salad they sent me for the 5th time. Whatever they sent me had a million dried cranberries on and I haaaate salad with dried fruit. I call that adding insult to injury! :(

Can never go wrong with il tram! Love this location because of the fast and friendly service. The food is always good. No complaints here! Would love if they would open a location in Glendale or Burbank though. :)

The Grilled Breast of Chicken Sandwich is sublime, and the Croissant Nutella with Banana or Strawberry is nothing short of heavenly! This was my first time ordering from this restaurant. My order was delivered promptly, and the food portion was perfect for lunch. I will absolutely be a repeat customer... Dr. Veta Patrick

  • Cassidy L.

My friend and I had dinner here last night and had a nice time. We ordered a Caesar salad and bread appetizer to start. These were both incredible and easily the best part of the meal. My friend ordered the panini which looked amazing and apparently tasted just as good. I had the spicy pasta meal which was very spicy and tasty. The service was very very good and they anticipated many of our needs. Only drawback is the lack of options. There were very few appetizers and you can basically only get sandwiches or pasta for dinner. Besides that, the prices were great and it was a nice outing.

My husband and I found this place on the way back from the Dodgers Game. And it ended up being the perfect choice! The service was great. Every associate that worked there was funny and helpful. If we could give a 10 just on service we would! We started off with the Tomato Basil Soup which was one of the best we both ever had. Then I had the Penne Ariabbata which was DELICIOUS! My husband had the Penne Milano which was really yummy to! Everything was perfect even down to the coffee and desserts! This is now one of our new favorite spots! Prices are very reasonable to :)

A friend suggested this place after she read the good reviews. The place is small and right in front of a busy street (Ventura blvd.). Even though they don't have parking in the front (unless you are ok with the meters or those are not taken already), there is a lot of parking behind whole foods. It doesn't even require validation so you can park there as long as you want. Now onto the restaurant vibe. The place was really cute with tables and chairs outside to soak in some nice sun, which is where we chose to sit. The waiter sat us quickly and let us choose where. She got our waters really fast too so we were happy since the beginning. The menu is a little big so we did take a little while to chose our food, the staff was still really attentive though and came to check on us really fast. I ended up ordering the "lunch menu" which was technically past lunch but she was super nice and told me she would gladly do it. The soup of the day was lentil soup and I have to say it was yummy. I also got the panini with chicken Breast and it was also super tasty. It's ok if you don't like soup, because she said she could switch that for a salad if I preferred so I am sure they would gladly do it. Overall I had a great experience, with the nice weather outside and pretty good prices (about $10) I am sure to come back..

An overuse of mayo ruined what could have been a fantastic sandwich experience. Mayo on a sandwich that also includes pesto aioli? I've eaten here twice, and both times I've experienced an overdose of mayo - everything else is really fantastic, next time I'll remember to ask for condiments to be on the side. Looking past the mayo debacle, the berry torte/cake is excellent.

After a rough night of work(bartender) and not much sleep because the dog your watching wakes up at 8am.... you don't want to cook.....So you throw on a sundress and stumble out the house with last night's make up...I find the closest place open on yelp that has breakfast and coffee.... I walk in and the guy at front counter is the sweetest... "beautiful tattoos and hair my dear." I know damn well I look a hot mess....but he is so friendly and helpful. He waits patiently as I change my mind 25 times. We chat about the morning....I get my food Togo....I get to the house where I'm staying....and start to eat. How was it you ask....awesome!!! I'll be back for lunch tomorrow.

The best chicken panini sandwiches in town! As well as the best kale salad! Friendliest staff who remember you form just a few times of eating there! Highly recommended!

  • Hannah W.

I love the chicken pesto sandwich! I ate the whole thing! I had a long day at the beach and was ready for food, but so yum!!! my only complaint is that the waiter asked if I wanted water maybe 5 times but he never brought me more. he made up for it by putting a lemon slice in it.

  • Ilona M.

Nothing short of spectacular. The staff is so warm and welcoming, that you wanna go back there just for that. However the food makes that thought even more appealing. Nothing I ever tasted was short of delicious. I go there at least once a week and still am not tired of it. I love the place, the staff and the food.

Came here on a Saturday night and was STARVING! So I don't know if the food was really that good, or if it was just me dying of hunger. We were seated almost immediately. We sat outside under a tent. it is a pretty small place and I was surprised there wasn't any kind of wait. Walked here from the hotel. We were starving and this place was recommended to us. Started with a ham and provolone tramezzini. I have been on a panini kick lately, so that led to this. Its not quite a panini, but it was still good. Its slightly grilled so its warm, and they cut them up small enough to be finger sandwiches. Had part of a Mediterranean salad which was pretty good, and I'm not even a salad guy. My entree was the Penne Formaggio. Its a huge plate of food. I thought it was decently good, not amazing, but it did the job. Finished with the croissant nutella with banana and strawberry dessert. Now i'm a pretty big nutella fan, so maybe I'm biased, but this was really good! Service was great! My glass was never empty, and I was pretty dehydrated that day. I would come back for sure if I'm in the area!

Best salads EVER. And the chicken panini sandwich is the bomb. At least that's what my kids tell me. We have been here at least 10x. And we all always order the same thing. Because we love these dishes so much. The South Beach Tostada salad, dressing on the side. The salmon salad. The house special: chicken panini sandwich. Last time I forced myself to try something new: the chopped salad. Delicious, too. Great casual atmosphere. Love the patio. Service is always friendly, happy to see you. And, recently a customer with WAY TOO MUCH ATTITUDE tried to get table for 4 for her party of 2 and she was politely declined, over and over. Impressively handled. BRAVO. Highly recommend. Will go again and again. Especially when our daughter is in town. It is her #1 favorite restaurant at home in the Valley.

This place is a small chain, I first had it at the Encino location couple years ago. Now that I live here though I stopped and had this for lunch one day before getting a Pressed Juicery which is right next to it. The food is great and reasonably priced. I had the panini lunch special that comes with a drink for $10-12 depending on which sandwich you choose. I got the one with buffalo mozzarella and prosciutto and it was delicious, hit the spot! Only $10! this locations layout has a more cozy feel to it as well than the one in Encino. Definitely recommend this for lunch if you are in the area.

*** Food * Atmosphere It's a bit pricey for a sandwich place, but dammit it's worth it. Their sandwiches are definitely on my top 5 list in Los Angeles. They also have great coffee, desserts, arnold palmer, salads, you name it. Valet parking available, but parking is usually available on side streets- it does take some effort though. Atmosphere is awesome, great outdoor seating with shade so you can relax, enjoy the weather, and not get sun burned. They import their pesto from Italy. If you're a first timer - get the chicken special on tram bread. Just say that. Get a side of pesto. Enjoy your mouthgasm. Like, this is the place you take your parents when they come visit, or a cute girl you want to impress with delicious eats. I wish it was cheaper - but I GET it. It's worth it. Do: Bella add chicken, Tuna salad, Chicken Special, Prosciutto, Tiramisu.

  • Maysen M.

I'm in love with this place. I wish I always had the money to come here more often. Their sandwiches are pricey for a panini. But its worth it. They make their own pesto sauce that comes on most of the sandwiches. I always ask for extra on the side because it's that good. I get the chicken breast special. It's like the first or second one on the menu with sun dried tomatoes and avocado. So simple but so delicious. Their nutella croissant paninis are also really good.

  • Aram T.

Been coming here for years! Great relaxing lunch in spot. The staff has pretty much stayed the same forever(Studio City location).. Very friendly and on top of it! If you are a first time guest, I would highly recommend their Grilled Breast of Chicken sandwich. The pesto sauce in this sandwich is exactly what the 'spread' is for an in-n-out burger. It truly makes the sandwich what it is and separates them from any other cafe. For dessert i would recommend the croissant nutella.. Trust me.. just do it!

  • Yelena G.

Came here for a quick lunch and it was a pleasant experience. The service is really good and our waiter was really nice. I love the outside sitting area, great place to get brunch or lunch on a summer day. I got the chicken dijon panini and it was decent. We also ordered the bruschetta and it was really delicious, really liked their bread. I need to go back soon, I was too stuffed and I need to try the Nutella croissant.

This place is a excellent, if you like a large variety of fresh salads this is the place to go. The kale salad is amazing, but thats not all, they have delicous panninis and the icing on the cake is the nutella panini (heaven in your mouth). Definelty one of my top picks for Sunday brunch

By far my favorite location. The staff us very friendly unfortunately i cant remember their names. I found this spot about 5 years ago when it wasnt all that popular yet. Ive been loyal tp them since day one. Unlike other places they keep the same food on their menu. Always get a chicken panini.

Get the Chicken Special Panini with extra pesto sauce on the side and leave room for some of their awesome dessert. Been coming here for years. Never tried anything else and never will, just go for my favorite OG option.

Been coming to il tram for years now but this was my first time visiting this location and I am soo glad it didn't disappoint! I had the Penne Lorenzo which is always my go to dish here unless I opt for the Chicken Special Panini. Both are must try items. I will definitely be back to this location when in the area!

  • Mike Y R.

I selected the Yelp recommendation the chicken sandwich. It was a great sandwich but small. Kinda pricey but a nice opportunity to sit out front and people-watch. I'd go back but my wife was less impressed with it.

  • Renata G.

Chicken special? Strawberry banana nutella croissant? 95% of the time, that's exactly what people order. I actually had a strawberry arugula salad today. It was super delicious. My friend and I were obnoxious and they were dolls and put up with us. Many people don't know this but they have free valet to the just west of the restaurant and stores. Valley gem.

    (5)
  • Gohar N.

I come here at least once a month. I prefer sitting outside because it's a bit more calm and quiet. Every time I have the panini special which consists of half a sandwich and a side of salad. Their chicken special is delicious. However make sure to save room for dessert. Their Nutella/banana/strawberry concoction is scrumptious. Also, il Tram is kid friendly and great for families.

  • Priscilla L.

WOW!! This is our first time at this restaurant and the food and service is fantastic! I highly recommend the Potato-Leek soup. It's so flavorful and hearty. I love the tiny leeks they top it with and a small is a pretty large portion. The small house salad salad was crisp and fresh. The turkey breast sandwich is very delicious and even though I got a half soup, half sandwich combo, it was enough to to make me full and satiated for the rest of the day.

Atmosphere: cute trellis around the small amount of seating outside and a couple small tables inside. The decor resembles a typical cafe that is outdated. Service: The girl that served us was a little weird or maybe just rude. It was a slow day, we were the only customers there and we sat outside on the patio. Our waitress asked us if we were ready to order. We asked for another minute and in the mean time, she brought our drinks. I asked our waitress for a suggestion on a salad, since It wasn't my cheat day! She said "it's a salad, just choose one and call it a day..." Um what? Wow! That was rude and shouldn't you be giving good customer service? It's not like the restaurant was booming with people, she was merely talking with other server the rest of the time until another customer finally came in. Also, out drinks weren't refilled once. Food: I get if service isn't amazing, but then the food better be worth the bad service. I got the special kale salad that had a few slivers of almonds, dried cranberries, the tiniest crumbles of goat cheese, and CHICKEN was not fresh. It was the chicken you would get at the grocery store that was precooked and sliced for convenience. Yuck! So how did my salad come out to $14? I've had their other food here aka paninis which were also overly dressy and made with the same weird chicken. Overall: Bad service and bad food shame on you. If I come here again, shame on me. That will not be happening.

Really bland pasta. The spicy pink sauced pasta was so bland it couldn't be eaten without adding several spices. Overrated restaurant. First and last visit to this place. Too many other good italian options out there.

I eat at Il Tramezzino at least 3 times a week. The food is amazing, the ambiance is relaxing and the service is excellent. Great place for a celebration or just for a romantic evening. If you cannot decide what to eat, try the Chicken panini. The salads are also delicious. Go there you will agree with me.

I really like il tramezzino! This place is a quiet Italian cafe. The service is excellent, they are so friendly. Food comes out fast, and is very fresh. It's popping haha The food is fresh The flavors of the sandwich mix are amaz The bread with garlic spread is to die for I can eat that all day The sitting area is so so The service? Our waiter needs to learn how to be patient bcuz he seemed annoyed while I took my time to order Sadly they don't have an alcohol license!! Colorful tropical drinks would have been a must! (Only beer and wine for now) Ill definitely be going back to try other things on the menu soon!!

Not your typical Italian spot. I opted for the chicken sandwich.... Wow. It was incredible. My wife did the salmon salad which I also recommend. My boys worked a couple pasta dishes which were also phenomenal. Fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and mushrooms was very tasty. They have sooooo many great sandwiches. Definitely recommend

Il tram definitely deserves 5 stars, I love this place, everyone I know loves this place...it's absolutely never failed. I've literally craved and drooled over il trams amazing sandwiches. Their chicken sandwich is one of the best ever, but since I converted vegetarian they're are plenty of other options. Their menu is diverse, delicious, but really its the sandwiches they're known for. Other than the food, the guys who run the place are like family. They're sweet, kind, funny, they remember your name, orders. They'll hook up with little things here and there because so many of their customers are regulars...nicest workers. OH AND THE NUTELLA. Don't skimp yourself. Everyones reviews are legit...eat here

best service i've had in a long time! went to Il Tram with 2 friends last night. the staff was beyond nice and accommodating! the food was delicious. they're not scared off by special requests and seemed interested by some of our interesting creations and substitutions. (if you marry the chicken mushroom with the bella - it's fantastic) while we were there, they received a prank call...most people would be annoyed...these guys thought it was hilarious. they were also super generous and gifted us with dessert of two delicious cannolis! two thumbs up and 10 stars for Il Tram's food & service!

My first time trying this restaurant, since Italian is my favorite. It was definitely a good experience, and I would come back, and recommend to my friends. The atmosphere is very relaxed, the workers are all very nice and welcoming, you will feel right at home. The food is amazing, and so is the nutella dessert. The pricing is decent and the quality of the food and the restaurant is perfect.

This place is great. I loveeee their pesto. Their chicken special is their most popular sandwich and it doesn't disappoint. I always get the Chicken special with extra pesto on the side. the key to taking this Chicken special over the top is Flatbread! Get it on Flatbread people!!! I guarantee you it will not disappoint. O.. and their Nutella is awesome as well.

If you want to have a meal with amazing food, great staff and an awesome atmosphere, look no further! I have eaten here for years and I have never once been disappointed in the food or service. Whether it's a light salad, the famous chicken pesto sandwich or a yummy pasta, it's has always been great. Five stars every time!

Ok wow...so I got the Prosciutto Platter and...omg it's amazing. I know it's only simple ingredients but when combined it's an amazing burst of flavor in your mouth. The quality of the food was great. I also got the Caprese sandwich and it too was incredible. I got delivery which had a $7 delivery fee which was high and I would have normally passed it up but I am so happy I didn't. Delivery was fairly quick about 30mins and for LA that's pretty good. The delivery driver was very pleasant and had a smile on his face (must have tasted the food). For the two items plus two big bottles of Pelligrino tip and delivery fee it was $51.00. It's definitely not cheap, but they have a loyal customer now for sure!!

TERRIBLE SERVICE! Just got home from eating here...well actually we didn't eat anything here because we ordered a salad and the greens tasted sour and like pesticides. We told our waiter (a younger gentleman with dark hair) about the salad and he took it back to the kitchen. When he came back out he told us that it was probably because we didn't put dressing on it. Well maybe we would have if they had bothered to even give us our dressing on the side - it never arrived. In addition, how are you going to blame pesticide tasting salad on the customer? Dressing would have just masked the taste of the rotten leaves. The waiter then gave us the menu to select something else, which we maybe would have, but when he came back to ask what we'd like to order instead, I began to say something and he said "I'll be right back" disappeared and NEVER CAME BACK! Fortunately we were not charged for the salad. We will never go back here again and advise everyone to pick a different restaurant on Ventura if you're looking to eat in the area.

El tram has the BEST tuna lovers sandwich! I love the chill ambiance, and very catering staff. I wish you were closer to me or delivered, I would eat you everyday!!! :) LOVE LOVE THE BREAD!

My coworkers brought me to this restaurant. They've been here previously and I must say it was a pleasant experience. They sat us down immediately. They were very polite and somewhat entertaining. I ordered the Grilled Chicken Sandwich (first sandwich on Sandwich Menu) and man it was DELICIOUS! I would so recommend! I didn't get to finish the other half of my sandwich and asked the waiter if I could please have a box. He collected our plates and silver ware right after I asked. He then came over and told me that he accidentally threw half the sandwich away and I told him it was okay. He insisted and said, "Too late they're already making a new slice." I thought that was really nice of him. My overall experience was great. I would definitely come here again.

The Chicken Special panini is the best sandwich in Los Angeles period. The food is super consistent and the staff is friendly and gets to know regulars. Never been for dinner, always lunch.

delicious!! quaint little restaurant we stumbled upon for lunch. I had the fettucini alfredo and my dad had the three cheese ravioli with housemade pesto..I couldn't decide which one I liked more! I had an orange pelligrino and he had a stella. We ended our meal with delicious sorbets that come in their own original shell. My favorite kind of lite dessert!! So far its my new favorite italian restaurant in the valley!

Yesterday was my first time eating here. I thought it was decently priced and a fairly tasty salad. However, my whole office ordered from here, and 3 out of 8 people got food poisoning. Like, IV, hospital food poisoning. Luckily, I wasn't one of them. They didn't even order anything but VEGGIE salads. Not even undercooked meat could be blamed. So, while I enjoyed my food... my hospital co-workers did not.

Carbs Carbs Carbs...Lauren L is the only 1 left in the valley who still eats them. The most lovely little establishment to meet the needs of my desires. Parking is not a mess per se but it's not exactly ideal. You have to street park on Ventura and make a mad dash across the street. The outside seating is all shaded so even on the hottest day you can still enjoy the people watching (and believe me I watched some characters roll by). No booze here...makes me boo hoo. I usually get the brie, turkey and cranberry which reminds to be thankful everyday for this Thanksgiving feast. However, today I had the tuna lover's which was sooo yummy! Yes, it's $10 for a large sandwich with no sides. On the flip side I could take the other half home for leftovers. Next time I want to do the caprese or the bella. The boys working in there are dolls...super sweet and kind.

Not bad for the price & the meal. The ingredients were fresh. I got the half sandwhich half salad deal, and I was satisfied. No complaints. The service was good. No complaints & yes I would come here again!

Savory sandwiches! I had the Bella and friends had the Veg # 2. We were unanimous. This is our new favorite little spot in the valley. Save room for the croissant with nutella & banana. It's beyond incredible. Side Note: Owner is super cool and made our experience all that much more perfect.

This place is definitely in my rotation of restaurants that i cant go more than six months without eating at . Went here today for probably like the 10th time in my lifetime and it was really good like it always is. I got the chicken special but asked for buffalo mozzarella instead. They were really nice and didn't charge me to substitute. Their garlic pesto sauce they put on is heavenly. Tastes so good! Also their panini is grilled to perfection with the bread being perfectly crisp and crunchy. The waiters can be a little cocky for some reason but whatever. Its really cute to sit here especially if you snag a table right on Ventura and people watch on a beautiful sunny day. Today we got to see the Kardashians chillin on Ventura and eating at Il Trem. That was fun. Anyway, anything you try here is really good. Their tuna salad is delicious and comes with really good salad dressing. I think their sandwiches should be $8 instead of $10.50 but its LA and fortunately for them, no one seems to have mastered that garlic pesto sauce so it makes me just want to go to them when I am craving a panini. Last but not least, save room for dessert! Nutella, banana and banana crepe type thing. Its sooooooo good!

So let me tell ju sumthing about thees place that not many other people have mentioned...the chopped salad is a hidden gem. The sandwiches are good, yes I agree. But the chopped salad is a wowzer. Hear that sound? It's my fork, scraping the plate, trying to get every last ounce of the salad into my mouth. Oh and all you sandwich eaters who are thinking, waaah, a salad won't fill me up, we'll you're wrong. This thing is a pound of food, filled with tons of salami and other goodes to keep even the most anti-salad fan happy. Note: I like this location better than the Beverly Hills one.

  • Arpineh K.

Loveeeee this place! You have to go here on a nice day and sit outside. My favorite dish they have is the Penne Tramezzino. It has red sauce and big chunks of bufala cheese and basil. Yum. My sister says the fettucini alfredo with chicken is the best dish they have. I've tried it but I prefer red sauce so I thought it was good but not as good as the Penne. The chicken and mushroom pesto sandwich is amazing too, if you're looking to eat a sandwich. The best part is the nutella croissant dessert that we absolutely must get every time we go. We like it with bananas and strawberries. The bill always comes to less than we think so the prices are very decent.

Have been a fan of this place since its only location was in BH and glad that there is one closer to my house. I like this location because it has ample outdoor seating, good people watching, and easy to find street parking (their parking lot is a mess and I highly recommend parking on the street). I pretty much have a standard order that begins with an iced-tea and the "pickles" which are a very vinegary assortment of veggies like cauliflower, celery, carrots, etc. They used to bring it automatically but it seems like lately you have to ask for it. If I'm in the mood for carbs I get the chicken special. If you want slightly less bread a good modification is to order it on regular bread instead of the panini bread that it comes on. However, my latest favorite is the south beach tostada salad. The dressing on it is amazing and it has just the right ingredients (fresh mozzarella, roasted peppers, tomatoes, onions, lettuce, and a Parmesan crisp). In the mood for dessert? A Nutella croissant panini is a must, while they offer it with either banana or strawberry I always opt for both!

  • S. T. V.

I had the prosciutto classico panini and it was really good! I was a little disappointed that the panini didn't come with any side dishes though... it would be nice for them to add a little bit of greens, or chips, or whatever on the side considering the panini is almost $12 before tax. My dining mates had the pastrami panini, according to them it was really good as well. Another person had breakfast and it was just scrambled eggs + bacon + tomato, nothing special. It's a nice place with outdoor seating, right on Ventura Blvd. I would say that it's a good place to meet friends for lunch / brunch if you're in the area. There's street parking (metered) available.

Had the Turkey chili and Turkey Breast speciality panini. Both were pretty tasty. Actually, everything that I saw people eating here looked pretty good. Most people were eating panini's and all of em looked appetizing. Has a cool little vibe too. Definitely worth trying if you haven't been here.

The paninis. Mmmm... So I walk to my own beat and instead of one of the Veg. Specials #1 or #2- (#1 has goat cheese, arugula, grilled eggplant, roasted peppers, marinated eggplant, and roma tomato./ #2 has goat cheese, roma tomato, grilled eggplant, mushrooms, arugula and basil garlic sauce.) I combined the two. I had the Veg. Special numero dos with roasted peppers added on. I dream big what can I say? My friend had the chicken special which was less complicated than my selection but that's life and I am a female so I make things a little difficult. The chicken special was really good and more simple with a few ingredients and full of flavor. Shared a fruit salad to start off which was super fantastic and fresh. Ended the Sunday lunch with a chocolate canolli and lattes. All of which was utterly satisfying. The service was great, the staff was so friendly and they seemed like they actually enjoyed working there. Pretty casual folks and it didn't hurt that they kept smiling. Didn't take a century to get our order hot and in front of us which was nice because I was starving! Prices were reasonable. (All in all I like the place and it is not too big but not too small. The seating, staff, location, menu and food on the plate in front of me was all just right.. -Goldie locks signing off .. Ha ha)

I give it 4 stars b/c the crowd is becoming annoying. Other than that you can't go wrong if you order any sandwich with prosciutto or goat cheese or mozarella or arugula or anything that will make that bread, with amazingly crunchy texture your taste buds to sing Verdi. Espresso cafe with tiramisu cake for the grand finale.

Great Lunch spot for sure. As a prosciutto fan, this spot is great place to grab a panini. They have three different prosciutto options on there menu and I went for the one with cantaloupe and brie, totally delicious! The one bad thing I have to say about this Ventura Blvd sandwich heaven is that they don't serve beer or wine! My sandwich really needed a Peroni or some other light pilsner!

My kids and I eat here ALL the time! The also offer local delivery before 5 for all you other lazy daisies! :) For lunch go for the Mikela salad and if you want a sandwich try the Chicken Mushroom! ITS SO YUMMY! The staff is super friendly and your food comes quick! Oh, and try the breadbasket, that little dip is really tasty! Happy eats! :)

2 suggestions, 6 words: Chicken panini, Strawberry-Banana Nutella Croissant. You'll be utterly satisfied...it's one of my favorite places to eat. It's a little pricey. The guys are nice in there, kinda funny. The people who eat there however are a little bit stuck up...but what do you expect.

Great place for a good, different salad. There were so many choices, it took me a few minutes to decide, but I settled on the Lorenzo salad and it was great. The mix of flavors was perfect and the grilled chicken was delicious. The staff was very friendly and the service was quick (which is just what I want for take out). I'm looking forward to returning soon and trying out other dishes.

Even though the Sandwiches is what makes this place good, it is the Soups that make this place great! The Tomato Soup is delicious. For some reason they don't make it everyday, but when they do it is a must! Every time I come here I always ask what kinds of soups they have. Even though they might not have the Tomato Soup daily, there other soups are a good substitute. The guys who work here are great! They are always accommodating and give your food as soon as possible. Aside from Soups, the Turkey Pesto Sandwich is one of the best Pesto Sandwiches I have ever had!!! I have been going here for years and this place has never disappointed me. This is also one of my favorite places for lunch. If your looking for a good place to eat for lunch, catch up with your friends, or enjoy the great LA weather, Il Tram is the place to be!! The only reason this place does not get 5 stars is because the Tomato Soup is not daily, and they do not have much variety in their menu. However, that could be a reason as to why this place is so special and sooooo good!

  • liza s.

Lemonade was a popular drink and it still is... At Il Tram, the lemonade is freshly made, perfectly sweetened and thirst-quenching. To date, I haven't found anything to match it.

  • Amanda C.

The atmosphere almost ruins this place for me. There has not been one time that I've been to Il Tram (that's the snobby private high school abbreviation, and I reveal this as a former snobby private high school student) when the obnoxiousness of the clientele and vaguely skeezy aura of the waitstaff has not been at least a partial turn-off. The chicken panini is the only thing I've ordered here, so I can only really comment on the food via the quality of this particular sandwich. Which is good. Not great, but good. I don't really get the super-hype about it, but then again I'm not really the Overpriced Sandwichâ„¢ type. It's possibly worth trying once, but the only reason I've gone back multiple times is simply because I keep company with people who have a rabid obsession with this place. I would definitely recommend other places over this one.

Amazing panini's!!! Their chicken and mushroom is out of this world. Outside seating is nice, especially the open area in the front. Indoor seating is fairly limited. Its a great restaurant, especially during lunch hours. Excellent customer service and food. Two thumbs up guys, great work!

Can never go wrong here. This is a great spot for a light lunch. There chicken sandwich/salad combo can't be beat. The sandwiches are amazing. Perfect crunch and yummy sauce. Its like a little bite of heaven. I'm rating purely on the sandwich and the service:)

  • Rebecca A.

This place is a great sandwich/salad/lunch/breakfast place. The studio city location is in my opinion the cutest and coziest of all the il tram locations, and it's got really cute indoor and outdoor seating. I used to come here all the time with my friends after school for a panini and some coffee. Its a great place to go to with friends or family, and is kid friendly, and it's good for people watching.....one thing that's funny about il tram is no matter what, i always end up running into someone i know when i go here, it's kinds weird but anyways, this place is really good paninis, they have a good selection of paninis.....i personally love the italian salami panini, the caprese panini, and the italian chopped salad. my brother always ordered the pasta with alfredo and mushrooms, and he says it's really good. I've also had a chocolate cannoli from here and it was okay, it was really just a pastry shell filled with chocolate ice cream. il tram doesn't have mind blowing food, but it does serve up consistently good paninis, salads, and other food, and it has a great, comfy, cute atmosphere.

My friend and I decided to come here because it was close to her work and we were grabbing lunch. I've never been to Il Tramezzino but I always see the reseda location and always want to go in so I was glad to finally experience it! We walked in and they asked us to sit anywhere we'd like. (Side note: I did see David Henrie from Wizards of Waverly place here. So random. The whole valley is filled with celebrities trying to not be seen. I saw Tori Spelling at the Reseda Il Tramezzino location) After we chose a table outside, they asked us for our drink order promptly. The menu seems very healthy, it's nothing super heavy and it all sounds delicious! I chose the bella sandwich which is a buffalo mozarella, sun dried tomato, basil pesto, basil sandwich...it was so good but I could only eat half of it - it's a big sandwich. The service was fine - it was nothing special but it wasn't bad either. Overall, I'd like to come back. It's a nice spot on ventura blvd to enjoy the sun and people watch, plus the pricing was really really fair.

I love this restaurant! The chicken special rocks my world I literally crave it then have to have it. Eating it with chalula sauce is the best. Their Nutella with bananas and strawberries is awesome and not super filling. Their salads are also delish. Honestly everyone I know has really enjoyed this restaurant. I was not impressed with anything at Il Tramezzino in Studio City. Service, food, and atmosphere were sub-par. I told the server I had never been there before, and I asked if he would recommend some sandwiches. He just gave me a blank stare. When I asked about the chicken breast sandwich, he simply said, "Good". He never checked back with me after dropping off my sandwich. After eating, I waited for at least 20 minutes for my bill -- which came only after I flagged down the manager and asked for it. My server finally delivered my bill without a word -- not even a "Thank you" -- and without slowing down as he rushed past me to another table. The chicken breast sandwich was mostly hard, dry, tasteless bread with very little chicken or anything else inside. It comes with no sides, just the sandwich for $10.95. Both inside and outside, customers are forced to listen to an unpleasant radio station playing over Il Tramezzino's loudspeakers. It's pretty annoying to have to hear all the commercials, news broadcasts, stupid DJ comments, and traffic alerts when you're trying to enjoy a peaceful meal. Most restaurants use a satellite music service, or even play selected music from an IPod. Health warning: Il Tramezzino allows cigarette smoking at the outdoor tables. Several customers lit up near me, which forced me to move inside halfway through my meal. I'm sorry, but smoking at a restaurant (even outdoors) is just plain RUDE. It's also illegal in California since 1998. Diners go to a restaurant for three basic things: service, food, and atmosphere. Il Tramezzino failed on all three. The food was sub-par and overpriced. The atmosphere was clouds of cigarette smoke and a loud radio. My server managed to get by with as little interaction with me as humanly possible. He never even asked why I moved from the outside table to inside -- he didn't appear to even notice. The only word he ever said to me was "Good" when I placed my order! Maybe I should take a lesson from him and limit my review of Il Tramezzino to "Bad", and leave it at that.

  • Jen B.

This review is for the chicken special sandwich since that is the only thing I've ever eaten here. Sometimes I pretend I'm going to try something new but I always end up ordering the same thing. What can I say, I'm a creature of habit and I figure if it's not broke why fix it? The chicken special definitely doesn't need fixing, nor an explanation. Just try it. You and your taste buds will thank me.

What a great adorable little place for a nice afternoon lunch on a sunny day! Il Tramezzino is a quaint little place in Studio City that has a variety of menu items from pastas, salads, sandwiches, and yummy desserts. I order the same salad everytime I go but the hitlist is with the desserts! Don't leave without trying the Croissant with Nutella, Strawberries, and Bananas! WOw! You won't be disappointed.

After a night of drinking, all i wanted was to eat and sleep. So to not let my day go by just sleeping. A friend and I, decided to grab some lunch at Il Tram. This is my first time going, my friend had been there several times. She loves the sandwiches there. Being a first-timer i was a little impressed w/the quick service and the outdoor seating. Nothing like enjoying the sunny California day with some lemonade and sandwiches from Il Tram. It seemed ideal, right? Well, it was. We grabbed some chips, i think they were the salt and vinegar ones ( i can't remember, sorry) but they were bomb! They had some fresh ground pepper on them and came w/a basil garlic dip. Man, were they good! I could eat them all day. maybe not a good idea to do, but definitely worth the effort. I ordered the Firenze sandwich. It was HUGE! and very delicious. It had this spicy mayo that i could've used more of, but w/everything on the sandwich (smoked turkey breast, avocado, arugula, Roma tomato, bufala mozzarella) it was a good balance of flavors. I was only able to eat half, but definitely looked forward to eating the remainder for dinner. It was just what we needed, the service was fast, they were friendly and we were full. A girl can't ask for anything more. ..well.. at least for this day, i couldn't.

  • Angela T.

I loveee this il tram! their signature chicken sandwich is amazing and its the only thing i order. everything else is good as well but for some reason this sandwich has me stuck. There's times where ill get random cravings and drive from santa clarita to studio city just for the sandwich; crazy, i know. The service is great; really cool, kickback sort of vibe. And there desserts are the best. i suggest strawberry and banana filled crepes, if you ever decide to go. Definitely one of my favorite places to eat, hands down.

the chicken pesto paninni is yummy! gets busy on the weekends and parking is a pain but worth it. For $12, it's fairly large- but doesn't come with a side :( enjoy!

great for lunch chicken special is amazing! i choose to get it on flat bread because it is easier to bite. leave room for dessert for their take on canolis and their nutella crepes - but i ask for flat bread as well, with strawberries... BLISS!

  • Arpie A.

Friends kept raving about this place, so I gave in and tried it. I should have stuck to my instincts and known this place would have been all hype...I had the grilled chicken breast sandwich...thought it would be safe enough - nope - they screwed that up. First off, the bread is tooth-breaking tough! I felt like I had to chew for an hour to break down one bite - my jaw hurt after 2 bites! Second...there was nothing special to the chicken, and whatever sauce concoction they had on this was SO oily and SO overly rich at the same time that after one bite, I felt bloated, and nauseous. I wouldn't eat here again myself, but I won't give it just 1 star because there MAY be other items on the menu that are "ok"...so for that, I'll leave my rating at a 2. Not worth the hype or money at all!

I've had lunch here a couple of times and have never been disappointed by their food. Best part is the side of spicy vegetables.

    (5)
  • Hank D.

Always good. I am never disappointed, except that when I order my favorite, Chicken Special!, it always seems to be cold in the middle. I don't like to bother the waiters so I don't ask for them to heat it up, but that's my only quam with this place. Get the Nutella banana and strawberry dessert if you want to end the perfect lunch. The waiters are also always quick to refill waters and bring the check around when you ask for it. Great slice of Italian atmosphere when you want it.

I came here a couple of weekends ago and I'm still dreaming about the sandwich I ate. The place is a little noisy with a bunch of people (which I don't mind), but the service was good. Their tomato soup is ok, it didn't wow me. I will come again for sure!

  • Craig C.

I'm sorry, but the other reviewers on here don't know their chicken paninis. This sandwich is 3 star at best... the bread is average and the bread-to-ingredient portion is waaaay off (way too much bread). To make matters worse, the inside of the sandwich is cold... the cheese isn't even melted! (I know this wasn't just my sandwich because I went with 4 others and 3 of us had the same sandwich). You can get a much, MUCH better chicken panini at Toast, Yummy.com , Sunset Panini, Caffe Primo, even the Champagne Corner Bakery. This isn't a bad sandwich, just HIGHLY over-rated.

It was so hard to choose which of the yummy pressed sandwiches to get but you can't go wrong with any of them! The service was FANTASTIC. We had a warm greeting when we arrived and when we told the waitress that it was our first time there, she went above and beyond to make sure that we had a great experience! We were so stuffed that we could not fit any of the yummy looking desserts (imported from Italy) so we some to go and enjoyed them later that evening!

Chicken Special is what you want to come here for. Pressed to perfection. I love this sandwich. Chicken, sun dried tomatoes and pesto sauce pressed onto a baguette. YUM! I havent had anything else. I just come here for the chicken special and maybe a side salad.

Best chicken pesto samich ever!!! I will drive 30 minutes just for the chicken... You need to try this to die for samich.... I order it extra hot, with frsh tomatos instead of sundried. Yummies. Unfortuantely I can't tell you what else tastes good, because for the 50times I've been there, I've ordered the chicken samich... The parking is sometimes a bitch, if you can't find a space on the street. I always try n eat outdoors, for it's a bit stuffy and loud inside. Good stuff!

I went here to the Studio City location just last week for lunch. The menu is nothing that spectacular, as the food style is pretty much deli-like, with some simple pastas, sandwiches, and salads. I ordered two pasta dishes here that day. In terms of taste, it was actually pretty good. A little better than I thought it would be. The pasta was cooked just right to give it a good texture, and the marianna sauce was pretty nice as well. Overall, is it a restaurant I would recommend? Yes, if you're in the local neighborhood. But don't be driving 30 minutes out of your way to come here. The food is good, but not spectacular or varied enough for a must-go-there dinning occasion.

If you're looking for panini then this place is hands down the best place to go. I had probably the chicken pesto panini ever. Altho I admit it was my first chicken pesto panini ever. The salad is also really good and large in portion too. Finding parking can be a pain since its on a busy section of Ventura but there is valet. Also the wait can get long since the place isn't that big. Most of the tables are outdoors but this is LA so most days its better to eat outdoors anyways and if it gets too hot tell them to turn on the misters. Overall a great place, can't go wrong.

A cute little Italian place right on Ventura Blvd. I came here one afternoon with my family one Sunday. Parking can be annoying, but what parking isn't on Ventura Blvd. I had some pasta and it was great! If you are looking for this don't blink! It will be hard to find. This is definitely one of those places for everyone. Guys, if you are thinking of a new place to take your girl come here at night! It always looks so cute!

One of my favorite sandwich places in the world. As far as panini's go this is the place for me! The chicken Dijon panini is my favorite sandwich here. Oh and the chocolate croissant is unbelieaveable! Don't miss out on that desert! Let me repeat that one more time, save room for the chocolate croissant!

This place is my boyfriend's and my staple. Try any sandwich with the marinated eggplant. Yum. Their desserts and breakfast plates are also darn good. The only downside is, yes, sometimes the paninis come out a little cold on the inside. But frankly, I just don't care. Grab a table outside, and order the Vegetarian or Chicken Special.

CHICKEN PESTO SANDWICH with sun-dried tomatoes!! I love this place, this location is definitely better than the Beverly Hills one. Also the Pressed Nutella Croissant with bananas!!!!!!! DAMN! Plus the service is friendly and the place is cool, with outdoor seating, u might even spot a celeb while you're there.

Yeah 3 stars but I will say that yelp really needs to get on the whole "half stars" innovation. The chicken special sandwiches truly are great, but not a lot else is. I recently tried one of their prosciutto numbers and it lacked a lot. So much that I didn't even really want to eat the second half, though of course I did. Man gets hungry. Anyway, 10 bucks is a little steep for just one sandwich. Bonus points for offering Orangina and San Pellegrino soda. Take my advice, stick to the chicken paninis.

Il Tramezzino Pronunciation: \ill-, trahm-ih---zeen-oh\ Function: noun Usage: often attributive Etymology: ItaliaEnglish Date: Late 1990's Description: 1 a: AWESOME Tuscan cafe-style food with service so horrible it will make you ill! OK, really now, this place has absolutely the best chicken breast sandwich I have tasted in a long time, but MY FRIGGIN GOD MAN, this one particular brain-dead waiter moves slower than a quadropolegic turtle! You'll know who I am talking about if you decide to go there. We'll just say he's a bit rotund and looks like he's balding, so waiter guy... if you're reading this right now, GET BACK TO WORK MISTER... THERE ARE PEOPLE WAITING ON SUGAR FOR THEIR TEA AND A PIECE OF TIRAMISU! I am absolutely not kidding here, I have never in my life seen such an un-attentive, aloof, & dim-witted water and be you extremely forewarned... if you ask for something, anything, from a waiter, you're going to have to eventually get up and get it yourself. I asked simply for sugar when they brought our tea, 5 minutes later I asked again, then again two minutes later and still, no sugar. You'd have thought I was asking for the last drop of water in his canteen if we were stranded in the middle of the Sahara desert! I had to get up and get it myself. And this has happened with other things as well. Oh, and don't think you're going to get any refills on drinks anytime soon, FORGET IT CHUMP... you're just not noteworthy enough for that! It happens to everyone there. So we'll say that the tips are right at 15%, though I should stiff-em and leave a tip simply saying GET A F-ING JOB WITH THE CITY WHERE YOU CAN BE LAZY, SIT AROUND, IGNORE PEOPLE AND STILL GET PAID! But I just can't bring myself to stiff someone! So the food... I almost forgot, yes the food is awesome, especially for a quick lunch (one drink and a sandwich) or a first lunch date, if you want to eat, chat and hang around a bit and wait for your extras. The Tiramisu is also a plus, I'm a Tiramisu whore, I give Tramezzino an A with the Tiramisu.

Il Tram is amazing! Their chicken paninis are too die for. I've been to the other locations, but this one is probably my favorite because the workers are the best! I need to learn his name, but after going there for only one or two visits in the beginning, he recognized me and warmly greeted me the next time I went! The food, the service, the location are ideal!

2.5 but i round up. the place is just alright. i much rather go to le pain next door. the paninis do taste great though. i just wish they came with something more than the sandwich. they are quite expensive for their size. it will probably turn out better if you made it at home. i have tried their pastas but found them very lacking. this place is really just a glorified sandwich spot. the staff could be better. they don't really come to check too often but maybe their a bit too busy trying to look good. recommendations: most of the paninis you really can't go wrong

I have been going to Il Tramezzino since the first one opened in Beverly Hills over 18 years ago. I go there to eat with friends, family, my children and even by myself (whenever i can!). It is always consistintly delicious and beautifully prepared and served with a smile. I have experienced this over and over at all three Il Tram's over the years. This why I was shocked and dismayed to hear these ridiculous comments....given that we all know Il Tram serves hundreds of lunches daily and that only three out of eight of you got sick maybe you should cop to the fact that a virus was running rampant in your office! get a clue! Il Tram rocks!!!!!!!

Was looking for a quaint little place to get some dinner last night 1/17 and drove by Tramezzino. It was just before 9pm and the place appeared to be open. There were plenty of patrons sitting both inside and out and the sign reading " Please come in to be seated" was out front on the sidewalk. So we struggled to find a parking spot and went in only to be told they were no longer serving. When I stated that it was misleading to keep the sign out front as though they were still seating the young man at the front rudely and sarcastically told me I should go and make him a new sign if I didn't like it !!! Well that was enough to keep me from ever attempting to try this place again. Did not particularly like the smell anyway. There was sort of a burnt greasy smell coming from the kitchen which caused me to wonder how the food might have been.

Always a solid place for a yummy salad or tasty sandwich. When my sister-in-law visited from MA, I took her here for lunch. She came back twice more during her week stay because she just couldn't get enough of the special chicken sandwich. Now I torture her by sending her pictures of my meal every time I eat there.

oooooo! fun! Found this randomely driving down ventura and that reviewer Jeff is right, it is a good spot for a breakfast date! This place was less crowded and had more options than it's neighbor Le pain Quo..whatever. Delish coffee (imported from Milan) and the toast is fab--it's grilled baguette. You could act and speak french here if you want, the servers try english so why not! Had a vegetarian omlette--chalk full of mushrooms and artichoke hearts and avo. fruit cup on side, freshly cut banana, strawberry, watermelon, cantalope. counterpart had grilled croissant with turkey bacon, feta and egg whites. give it a go!

Ok this place has a really good vibe to it, but man the food is pretty expensive for a sandwich place. So we got the chicken pannini sandwich with the avocado sauce, its a good sandwich, but damn man cant a brother get some chips or frieds, it came with nothing else. The service just down right sucked, i ordered a coke, and never got it, so then i was like fuck it how bout some water, i had to wait the whole time i was there,at the end when the waiter brought the bill, he brought my water, disgust, this place can be really good but for now its whateversssssss

I had been craving the tomato basil ravioli from Aroma Cafe but their line was out the door and around the corner so we decided on Il tramezzino and i'm so glad we did! The Penne Milano was sooo good, it definitely hit the spot! The service was awesome too even though we arrived 20 minutes before they closed. The staff was super attentive and made sure we had everything we needed.

All I have to say is this place has the BEST PANINI'S.. OH MY GOSH!! sooo yummy and juicy... I get their chicken panini and like I said it's the best one eva!! They have a wide variety of panin's and salads too. I tried their greens salad and it was not the best, the dressing kinda sucked. So stick with their PANINI'S!!!!!!

I love my sammiches. I consider myself an expert on them. And I also feel like they're really hard to get wrong. Well, Il Tramezzino didn't get it wrong, but they really didn't get it right either. I mean, it was a 3 star prosciutto sandwich with pretty decent goat cheese and mushrooms, but not really worthy of me writing a clever or witty review. And the waitstaff seemed slow to non-existent. We were sitting outside. In the corner. And it was freezing, so maybe I'm making it out worse than it was, but I wasn't blown away. A little wind blown, but that's about it.

    (3)

Reading through the reviews, it seems to be a fan favorite...the chicken special! That combined with an orangina, finished with a nutella strawberry and banana croissant panini is an amazing meal! Love this place!

my favorite restaurant to go to and have a relaxing lunch with some friends. I have never been disappointed, the food is always delicious and the croissant nutella is fantastic! they always have pretty fast service as well which makes it a great place to go to during your lunch break from work.

Awesome place for lunch and maybe even a date. I had the Penne Milano and it had a nice portion of chicken and the penne was cooked to perfection. Not recommended is the corn chowder, they put garlic in it! whats the deal w/ that!??! Over all a good place to eat and relax for a minute. Service was ok, not super tentative, but when you need something you can get the waiters attention easily. Don't sit outside in the front if you want some intimate conversation, the traffic on Ventura keeps the wind roaring like waves of the ocean.

Oh my GAH! It's my 100th review! YAYYY *does lil dance*. And I couldnt pick a better place to review! Il Tramezzino is one of my FAVE restaurants. Thats right! I said fave! They have the most amazing paninis. The "breast of chicken" panini is sooo yummy. It's chicken breast, avacado, sun dried tomatoes, and pesto. The tuna panini is also very yummy. The tomato soup is great on a chilly day with some pesto and bread. Don't forget to finish the meal with a nutella sandwich...mmmm...with bananas...or maybe strawberries. Words cannot express my love for their paninis. =D

Mmmmmm, the grilled chicken panini is yummylicious! My co-worker managed to talk me into dodging another delicious sushi lunch for "il tram" one day and I'm glad she did! The patio is ridiculously cute and so very perfect on any gorgous and sunny valley day. I'm definitely going to have to make it a habit to frequent this place!

This is a great place for a business lunch or to grab a bite on a weekend. Great outdoor seating. I always start with the Frappe, basically a fruit smoothie. Very nice. I've had a pasta, a panini and the tuna salad here. Everything is solid, if unspectacular. It's pretty well priced. The clientele is surprisingly fabulous ... lots of large sunglasses sitting outside, fo sho. A great local spot.

My whole table of 5 had the best time here. We had an impromptu engagement celebration and the guys were so nice about plating and serving our cake we had brought but that's jumping to the very end. From the moment we got there they couldn't have been more accomadating. We got to hand pick any table to put together to make a larger table. The service was great. Drinks, bread, etc. was always refilled promptly and the food was excellent. I would go back there any day of the week.

I think Il tram has the best panini's. The chicken special is amazing. I've had so many chicken pesto panini but nowhere compares to here. The food at both locations is exactly the same but the beverly hills location is open much later. I've also had a salad here which was alright but I don't think i would order anything other than the panini. For desert they have a delicious banana nutella croissant. The only downside is the sandwich is a little expensive and you don't get anything with it.

My favorite panini's restaurant so far. I prefer panini's here over roma cafe in studio city. Worth the try.

    (5)
  • Nat C.

Let me start off by saying that I prefer the Sherman Oaks location over the Beverly Hills one. (There is a Tarzana location as well, but I don't make my way over there as often.) The BH Il Tram is cramped and has limited outdoor seating, whereas the Sherman Oaks Il Tram has plenty of tables on the patio. I usually order the Il Tram chopped salad... the portions are huge and my favorite part about the dish is that it's actually chopped (or diced if you will). I noticed that Sherman Oaks recently started adding peppercini to their chopped salad... not a fan. Other than that, this place rocks.

Yum Yum Yum...the best grab and go possible. I love this place and miss it anytime i am not in LA. The Lorenzo Salad is my go to....i know they have a very popular panini....but overall thumbs up...i typically order take-out and my order is always set to go when I am there.

Delicious even though its a tad pricey. Sandwiches are great. Love the sauces and seasoning. Portions in the $12 salads are very skimpy but tasty all the same. Ill be back.

I was hanging out in the valley and asked a stranger for a restaurant recommendation and we landed at Il Tramezzino. Can you say yum? The portions were generous and the wait staff were extremely attentive. I had the tuna salad and I appreciated that it wasn't soaked in mayonnaise - it was just enough to moisten it. I forgot to ask for the balsamic on the side, but when my salad arrived I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had used it sparingly. The tomato basil soup was equally delicious and it was clearly made with fresh tomatoes. My son enjoyed dunking the sour dough in the soup as well. He had a panini which he thoroughly enjoyed alongside chips and a pesto dip that he loved so much that he asked for seconds. The lemonade was super delicious as well (barely sweetened, but perfect if you don't want to feel like you're drinking lemon with a glass of sugar water). They also had beer and wine on the menu. I'm very interested in returning and trying more items from the menu, hence the 4 stars as I've only tried one dish. I'm hopeful that the location in Beverly Hills is comparable to the Studio City location.

No words to describe how much I LOVE their paninis! Amazing place if you really want to enjoy your meal! I also like their dessert menu. Berry tart is delicious! Staff is very friendly. Some times there is some waiting time but look around how many customers they have! My only concern is parking. It's always hard to find where to park there :( I wish there were less problems with it

We've been coming to Il Tram for years. We try to frequent it as much as possible. The staff is always super polite and very attentive. Everything they make here is great, from the sandwiches to the pastas, but what really stands out is the Grilled Breast of Chicken sandwich. If you've never been, start here. Fair warning though - you won't want to veer away from it once you've tried it. Desserts rock too.

I've been going to il Tram for 10 years and I've never had a bad experience there. The chicken mushroom sandwich and the kale salad are extremely good. The service is always exceptional and the staff is very friendly. I highly recommend it!

I cannot recommend Il Tramezzino enough. They have great food and great service! I called in a very large order (~20 people) for pick-up with the intent to pick it up in less than an hour and they had it ready when I asked! Not only that, but they had everything labeled and double checked everything with me before I left. Ricardo was incredibly helpful and friendly throughout the whole process and helped me bring everything to my car. I felt terrible that I couldn't tip cause I was paying with petty cash so I figured writing this review was the least I could do. Definitely coming back. They can handle orders both big and small!

  • Cher A.

I love this place. I used to live near this one and I would eat there a few times a week. The waiters are incredibly friendly and always make you feel welcome. I always ordered the same thing with a few modifications and they would never get it wrong and would always remember my order. Also, I drink my hot tea with a whole lemon cut in half and they have never given me a problem when I asked for the whole lemon. The ease of their service is why this place was a favorite of mine for a while. Every person I brought to this place would ask to go back. I haven't been there in a while since in the last year I have been gluten free. Although they have many amazing salads, I know I will go there and crave the Veggie Special #2 which is incredible. If they had gluten free bread I would be back there in a heart beat. The one in Tarzana has great hospitality as well. The owner is over there and he makes you feel like you have entered his house and gives a great overall feeling. One late night out we decided to try the Beverly Hills location since it was open late but we did not have a great experience at all and never went back to that one. However, Il Tramezzino Studio City is a great location and you will be very happy you tried it out.

Best place ever! Lunch and dinner is always fresh and great. All their sandwiches and salads are amazing. Having driven past Il Tramezzino many times, we were not certain whether it was more apt for lunch or dinner; it seemed like it 'could' be finer dining, but also was potentially a sandwich/lunch style spot. We finally had the opportunity when we were invited to the osteria/trattoria hybrid for a private party on a recent weekend night. First and foremost, the service was sensational. From the owner to the manager to the runners, everybody was friendly, helpful & thorough; really accommodating. I had a Peroni in my hand within one minute of entering, and was never left empty-handed the rest of the night. The environment was welcoming - it's pretty small, my guess is the capacity is 35 people indoors, which actually lends to the intimacy and seclusion factor. In fact, if you park and enter from the back, you walk into an open-trellised seating arrangement that transports you away from Ventura Boulevard. Really cute. I wasn't a fan of the awkward counter layout in the front nor the flat screen television hung over the entryway in full view of every customer - it kind of detracted from the experience of a nice meal. The food, however, was great: *gorgonzola apple crunch salad in a sesame dressing. absolutely fun for a salad: mixed granny smith apples and slivered almonds, yum. *firenze sandwich: smoked turkey breast, avocado, arugula, roma tomato, bufala mozzarella & chili mayo sauce served on grilled ciabatta bread. This was mouth-wateringly good, and the ciabatta was pressed to perfection, crispy and light with the right density. *bella sandwich: bufala mozzarella, sun dried tomato, avocado, basil and pesto served on grilled ciabatta bread - literally one of the best vegetarian sandwiches I've had. *lastly and MOST important, Nutella croissant. Both the strawberry & banana versions are incredible. This is one of the most satisfying desserts on the planet. Wow. Do not miss this dish. *cappucino was a little watery, which is worth noting at an Italian spot. All told, good meal and definitely somewhere we'd go back for a spontaneously romantic dinner al fresco.

Lemme just respond to some reviews. This place is pretty much known for their paninis!!!!!! Everything else is pretty decent but their paninis are the winners!!!! As for the service, it's pretty satisfying. Honestly for the price, it's very delicious =)))))))) good stuff!!!! Went today and got the sandwich and salad special. Usually when I get a Caesar salad as a side salad it's tasteless but ill trams was delicious!!! And I got the chicken breast panini but with regular tomatoes instead of sun dried tomatoes. My Fav! They put this yummy green spread in it I believe it's garlic. Whatever it is.... It's DELICIOUS! One of my Fav places to go when in studio city!! Can't wait to go back and Try the Nutella one!!!!!

  • Kristin V.

The sanwiches are good...the soups are good (especially the creamy broccoli on Fridays)...but the caprese salad with grilled eggplant is my all time favorite. Plus they have a nutella-strawberry-banana dessert panini which is amazing. And the staff is great. If it's slow, they'll come hang out at your table while yelling at the soccer games :)

Went with friends here recently for the second time and ordered the penne milano pasta. It was good but so heavy I couldn't finish it. My favorite part was the dessert (croissant with nutella and bananas). Other than that if I come here again it won't be for a while and I will definitely order something else to try out. Liked how there was parking right in the back and the waiters were really nice. 3 stars because I believe it could be so much better!

Eat here at least once a week, always get the chicken special on baguette. Extra side of pesto and usually grab a bread basket while they make the sandwiches. I am the pickiest eater in the world. Just meat and cheese on burgers .. No condiments.. Don't eat vegetables. But not here!! No substitutions .. No complaints I eat just how they make it .. Perfect combination of flavors

Great restaurant! Staff is nice, a bit slow, but they are usually busy the restaurant is popular. It's right on Ventura so traffic is a bit noisy and good luck finding any parking! But the food itself it totally worth the trouble once you get seated. The Grilled Breast of Chicken was amazing! (I believe this is there chicken special) I cannot wait to go back and try more dishes, but it will be difficult to not get the chicken again, it was so good!

Visiting on Sunday afternoon with my fiancé... sat indoors in the booth/sofa. The vibe in this place is so nice... it doesn't leave you with a cafe/school cafeteria vibe. The entire wait staff is SO professional! Their service and demeanor is like NO OTHER. I really appreciate that because it makes frequenting this gem so much easier. The food makes it ALL THE MORE worth it! I've never been disappointed in anything I've had here... from all their sandwiches to their salads and continuing with their desserts! There must be magic going into their food... it's seriously unexplainable. Combined with the amazing food and the PERFECT vibe, this place cannot get any better. I'd rate it 10 stars if I could...

I live around the corner from this place and walk past it daily but have only eaten there twice, both for lunch...until today. My usual breakfast place was closed so I decided to try Il Tramezzino. I wasn't even sure if they served breakfast. They do. I had my dog with me so I wasn't sure if that would be a problem. Nope. There is plenty of outdoor seating. The waiter was so nice that he not only brought a bowl of water for my dog, he also brought him some food. That alone won me over! I ordered a scramble. It was very tasty. Service was attentive and friendly without being smothering. I plan to return soon.

I was very excited to bring my friend from out of town here since he is a huge sandwich lover. We had one turkey tramezzini and shared the grilled chicken sandwich. The turkey tramezzini had good flavor, minus the semi soggy bread. It was plain. The chicken sand which was one note. The basil garlic sauce gave my friend and I a stomach ache later on in the day. It was just too much/ too over powering. We enjoyed the sand which bread on the main sand which though. The wait staff is friendly. You could tell they have a good rep ore with their customers.

Cute little Italian cafe in Studio City. When I used to work around here, I ordered their grilled breast of chicken sandwich or their fettucine alfredo all the time. It tastes phenomenal!!! Their pesto sauce is what makes the sandwich so tasty (fatty, but good!). The bread is perfectly toasted. I would highly recommend if you are in the area.

Note: For Crepe with Nutella , bananas and strawberry and powdered sugar on top dessert only. I've had lunch here once before and it was good but I come here when I wanna be bad and have one of the best desserts in Los Angeles. My mouth is literally watering and my stomach grumbling thinking about the perfect combination for a mouth orgasm. Ohhhhhh! Nutella Crepe, AKA mouth orgasm with powdered sugar on top= a delicious crepe with nutella, bananas and strawberries (can leave either out) that is folded and made slightly crispy and sprinkled with powdered sugar. If you wanna be naughty and have a party in your mouth this is the place to go.

I used to love this place... The food is still good... But the service sucks. Our waiter went on lunch (without telling us, we saw him sitting there eating) in the middle of our meal and never returned. We stayed there for over 20 mins and then finally went inside to pay. Kinda lame...

Best Food, best service. I recently ordered some food trays for customers that I do business with. There were 3 consecutive orders for pick up at 8:45am, in one week, Mon-Wed-Fri for a breakfast presentation that I had. Everything was perfect. My order was prepared exactly as I requested, and the food was yummy. Thank you Il Tram!

Fellow vegetarians you must try their veggie panini. One of the best vegetarian sandwiches I have by far had. Very rich and unique in taste! Although food gets a five star rating, their overall interior design needs work. Place is outdated and not too inviting. They are lucky their food is good!

Had the dinner special of half sandwich and salad. The chicken with mushrooms sandwish was very enjoyable but the cesaer salad made the meal. The service was great and the ambiance was very nice. very homely hole in the wall that i look forward to returning to. thank you for an enjoyable evening

I'm a regular here! First off it's located within walking distance from my job and it's a nice little walk. Our office brings it in on occasion when our manager buys staff lunch so I've really only enjoyed their lunch dishes and some desserts, but they have dinner entrees and breakfast available. I'm a creature of habit and there's only a few selective items that I get which I HIGHLY recommend: 1) The Tuna Lovers Salad which has: White albacore with chopped roma tomato, cucumbers, red onion, corn, mixed with a lite mayo topped with avocado and lettuce 2) Grilled Breast of Chicken Sandwich: Sun dried tomato, avocado, provolone cheese and basil garlic sauce However I have ventured out a few times and has the Bella Panini, Fettuccine Alferdo (they add mushrooms to it which is a unique add on). And of course the desserts... the Croissant Nutella is good but on a hot summer day, definitely get the Lemon Italian Sorbet! They serve it in a sundae cup but they actually scoop out the lemon, fill it with sorbet and freeze it as a whole, it's topped off with whip cream, sometimes mint leaves and a fresh sliced strawberry. VERY Decadent! They offer great lunch specials like a half of sandwich and half salad for under $10 and recently added a happy hour menu. I would call and inquire about their happy hour, personally I've never been. Staff is nice, they let you sit anywhere however it's mostly outdoor seating, the from is covered with umbrellas while the side is more of a patio covering, during the winter they have heaters and in the summer they have misters in that section. Again I usually walk to the restaurant since it's close to my work which works to my benefit since only street parking is available. I've only had great experiences here, from the food to the outdoor ambiance! Great place for lunch.

Great food! Great service! The South Beach Toastada salad is TO DIE FOR. And the pasta salad. And the potato leek soup.... Okay okay. EVERYTHING here is great! :) I will keep coming back since it's convenient to my work and so quick! Yum yum!

YUM! My cousin introduced me to Il Tram just the other day and it was a great lunch spot. Cute patio, very large menu with lots of fresh, healthy options. I got the South Beach Tostada Salad which was really good and my cousin got the Chicken Special Panini with extra pesto which was to die for. I can't wait to go back & try other menu items! Will be taking my fiance and all my friends soon.

I've started writing this review 4 times already. The first 3 times I ended up deleting the words I'd written without taking my index finger off of the delete button. The 4th time, however, I erased the words with slow deliberate taps on the keyboard, in what I could only describe as a violent calm. I sat back and thought, as I often do, about why I've suddenly been paid a visit by the ghost of writer's block present... and it hit me. I just didn't find this place particularly special in one way or another. It makes me a little sad, too, because this place is pretty cute. My wrists are being slowly eaten away at by the razor's edge of my laptop. It has no bearing on my impressions of Il Tramezzino, but I just needed you to know, my phantom internet companions, so that I wasn't alone in this. Now, as for this restaurant... meh. I mean, they served food. That was kind of cool of them. You had to pay for a bread basket if you wanted one, which wasn't so cool. I had a sandwich that tasted like it'd been set on fire with mayonnaise (please don't question me; now is not the time)... but may have otherwise been good. I didn't know there was going to mayonnaise on my meal of choice, or else I would have just asked for it to be kept off. To be fair, I am particularly repelled by the taste of it, so it might not bother you at all. Oh, I did order a fruit smoothie which, for its part, was actually pretty good. I would definitely have that again. I think Dan liked it, too. Well, I mean, he said he did, so I suppose I should say rather that I know he liked it. I really wish yelp had an italicize option. I think that I'd be much funnier if I were properly italicized. Anyhow, I'm going to give this place another try. The servers were all pretty nice, and I don't think it'd be fair to judge all the food based off of my mayonnaise panini. I'm told that their salads are pretty delicious, so I'll need to have one of those before I can really make a judgement on this place. Until then, remember, that this last line of my review was completely unnecessary.

Came here today for lunch with two of my friends. It was my second time and had been a long time since the first time I had been there. I must say, I really liked it! The food is not out of this world amazing like everyone makes it out to be, but it is good. I got the half chicken sandwich half Caesar salad combo, which is very filling. Customer service is awesome Denis our waiter made sure everything was perfect. I'm pretty sure I will be back.

Like all other yelpers here (and every customer to every eat at Il Tram) I ordered the chicken special, and it is consistently good! I went to visit a friend at the UCLA Il Tram and the chicken special was amazing there too! Ok it wasn't as good as the restaurant, but all campus food blows.

Came to have a chicken caesar salad and I was served a cold piece of chicken that looked extremely processed. I was expecting a fresh piece of chicken off the grill

From the outside Il Tram looks like every other trendy expensive restaurant on Ventura Blvd. Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of delicious places from Encino to North Hollywood. When you walk in, its a small cottage looking restaurant with a giant patio, great for a spring or summer brunch. This place was a lot like any typical Italian restaurant, but their focus was more on lunch with a ton of salad and sandwich options. We went there tonight to celebrate Mother's Day very early, and it ended up being a good choice. The waiters were great. Very helpful and we got along pretty well with them, all of us cracking jokes left and right. I enjoyed the Penne Milano (grilled chicken, basil, pine nuts, roma tomatoes, kalamata olives, and roasted peppers in a mildly spicy pink alfredo). Again, I said that I enjoyed it. My sig other ordered the cheese ravioli with the alfredo sauce, which was really good as well. It wasn't too strong and creamy, which a lot of Italian restaurants (I think) over do. Side note about the bread, be sure to ask for some, because it's delicious. I definitely enjoyed eating there, and hope to add it to our regulars list for when we are in Sherman Oaks.

Amazing. If I could give them more than five stars, I would. The food is great. The Apple Gorgonzola salad is awesome and the buffalo mozzarella and sun dried tomato sandwich is soooooooo good. My wife loves the pasta pollo - not sure what they do to their sauce to make it taste so good. Do not, DO NOT, neglect to order a Nutella croissant for dessert. Wow. The staff is polite, accommodating, and prompt. You could not ask for more from this casual curbside cafe. We are customers for life!

Absolutely loved this place! Food was phenomenal & service was outstanding. The waiters were very friendly from the beginning. We were greeted & seated and talked too. Our drinks orders were taken and brought out shortly thereafter. I am a picky eater so I really did not know what to order. I went with the Alfredo Fettuccine and was absolutely blown away! It was beyond delicious! I could not get enough of my meal! They have indoor & outdoor seating, although there are only a few tables inside. This is by far my favorite Italian restaurant. Oh & the prices are very decent for this restaurant. You definitely get what you pay for! Will gladly return soon!

Service is always spot on here, no matter how busy they are. It's one of the things I love most about Il Trem! That and their chicken special.... Pair that up with an Arnold Palmer and you got yourself a lunch of champions right there.

Great service & delicious sandwiches and salads. Busy on a Sunday afternoon, especially if you want to sit outside on a beautiful day. I highly recommend their salmon salad & their most popular chicken sandwich. Definitely one of my favorite sandwich spots!

  • J.C. A.

I've been here a number of times and I've yet to be disappointed. The food is always good, with great sandwich options and I love their fettuccine Alfredo. Everything is reasonably priced and light fare which makes it great for brunch or lunch. This location is small and intimate, but does have indoor and outdoor seating options. I've always received good service, but it is very no frills and they let you have conversation rather than checking in on you constantly, which is good in my eyes. I could see it being slow if you were in a hurry to go somewhere though.

There is NOTHING like this place. I probably crave it on a daily basis. They have the best chicken panini and the pesto? I EAT IT WITH EVERYTHING! Seriously the best go to place. By the way they even serve toorshi, my middle eastern people know what's up! The staff is so friendly and they do anything to help you and make your experience the best. Overall, 10/10!

Meh. I was looking for a nice lunch spot to take an out of town guest on a Sunday afternoon, so I Yelped Italian in the area and settled on Il Tramezzino based on the reviews and the location. The service was not very great at all. From a service standpoint, it was very clunky. When we walked in, the host told us there was a table outside available, and rather than leading us out to the table (there were a few) he just kind of pointed and we had to assume which one he was talking about. The menu had a lot of great choices on it, but I was in the mood for pasta, so I went with the penne arrabbiata. The waiter warned me that it was spicy. (A. I know arrabbiata is spicy, that's why I ordered it. B. The menu tells you it's spicy.) The warning was not necessary. The penne itself was very overcooked. They let it cook about 3-4 minutes too long. Totally not al dente. The sauce was decent - pleasingly spicy, but had a sauce-from-the-jar flavor. Trader Joe's frozen penne arrabbiata in a bag is way better. The server wasn't very attentive either when waiting on us. We had to flag him down a few times for refills of our water. My two lunch companions got sandwiches and were pleased enough. It wasn't horrible, but I wouldn't come back. Not for mushy pasta and inattentive service.

The pastas in here are pretty amazing. They also have some Panini sandwiches that are worth trying, and I mean you have to try them at least once!

  • Nancy T.

I absolutely love the panini's here, as well as their chopped Italian salad! Best of all, they have a really great outdoor patio, where you can sit and watch traffic - those are definitely my favorite types of cafes to eat at these days! :) Prices are pretty reasonable and expected. The service was also excellent, as they first messed up my salad order, but quickly fixed it as soon as they realized it was wrong.

Absolutely love il tram. It's in a great location. Pretty small and cozy. Service is always so casual and friendly but not annoyingly nice. The food is delicious, everything I've ever tried I've loved. The fetuccini is great, Caesar salad, chicken breast sandwich, tomato basil soup, and mostly everything I've tried but can't remember. Prices are good and it makes a great lunch.

  • M A.

Love Love Love this place. They treat you like family here! I know everyone raves about their chicken special, but there's sooo much more to try from their menu. And if you leave here without eating the Nutella croissant, you are definitely doing yourself a disservice.

  • Coofie C.

Il Tramezzino is a little gem. Great casual atmosphere. Lovely patio. Italian version of shabby chic furnishings. And, of course, delicious food. We had the prosciutto platter - excellent! Then we had the chicken breast sandwich, lettuce-wrapped, and the Firenze sandwich. We didn't have room for dessert, so we'll try that next time. Trust me, there will be many "next times" at Il Tramezzino for us!

absolutely my favorite place for lunch. their sandwiches are amazing especially the sicilian. i always get the same dessert, the nutella croissants and i highly recommend it. i'd come here everyday if i could but it's a 20 min drive from my home!

  • Stacey C.

Delicious for brunch! Ordered the $9.99 Daily Special which includes a 1/2 sandwich and 1/2 soup or salad. The Sicillian sandwich and pasta salad were both delicious, and not too heavy despite all the carbs. Would definitely come back

Best service ever! Every time I come here the waiters provide excellent service. Denis always remembers my name and order! Try the veggie special #2 you won't be disappointed! My boyfriends favorite is the chicken panini. They now serve beer and wine! (Yay mimosas!!)

  • Dal Z.

So disappointed in this place and there service. My girls and I called and placed an order and asked if they can put in the order in ten minutes and they agreed. We were stuck in traffic so we were 10 minutes late and when we arrived I was shocked at the attitude that the server had. He began to explain that he threw away the food and that this is a loss for their business. I asked why they threw away the food when we were only 10 minutes late and he just wouldn't stop with his smart comments and going on and on about the loss to the business. First off your not the owner, your a waiter and second of all no matter what the situation is you never give attitude to a customer or make them feel unwanted. WAIT TILL YOU HEAR THIS! We sat down an literally almost instantaneously he brought out our food and so it was more than obvious that the food was not thrown away and indeed was just in the kitchen. I asked him why he said that the food was thrown away when it wasn't and he literally PUT HIS HANDS IN MY FACE AS HE WAS TALKING AND SAID THIS IS WHY WE DON'T TAKE ORDER OVER THE PHONE TO EAT HERE. WOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW. NO TIP FOR YOU BUDDY and a loyal customer lost. In fact more like 20 loyal customers lost. This guy really deserves to be fired because if I were the owner of this place I wouldn't want someone treating my customers like this. Side note ( FOODS AMAZING) but still wouldn't go back because of how terrible the service was.

Celebrities. Almost every time I'm here, I spot a celebrity in their natural habitat: munching on great food. I've been coming to this location many more times than I've checked in on Yelp. This restaurant will always be successful merely based on the outstanding customer service. Their food is out of the question. You will leave the restaurant completely satisfied and full. There have been times where I have ordered the wrong item and they've switched it out for me without any complaint. THIS is an example of a perfect restaurant. I salute you, mighty sorcerers. Thank you for satisfying my stomach's need for mouthwateringly delicious food.

Eat here every so often for a late lunch(3-5 when everything else is closed)..It's a decent little Italian spot, nothing exceptional but good for a quick lunch. Generally I get the Chicken Breast sandwich, it's good but not the best I've had. If I want a good pasta I'll get the Il Tramezzino Chicken pasta, its pretty good..The Ravioli they added to their menu is good as well, usually get it with the pink sauce. Service is good here, usually don't go in when they're busy so I never had a bad experience.. It's not a cheap lunch though.

Great food! I love the chicken sandwich. It tastes amazing and has never disappointed me. Always tastes delicious. The Caesar salad is great as well with shredded Parmesan cheese. If its a sunny day you can sit outside and have an amazing lunch.

  • Patrick B.

This is more of a sandwich shop than an italian restaurant. I wouldn't go expecting a hot meal. Went for dinner and found the menu to be limited. Ordered the fettuccini Alfredo and was disappointed with the quality. The chicken tasted like dry, pre-cooked, processed chicken. Pretty bad, especially considering this is the only meat on the menu. The Alfredo sauce was more of an oily coating. Bread with the meal was a bit stale and mediocre.

My review is a 3.5 stars. Had lunch there yesterday (12/29) with four friends, and after all the rave reviews of the chicken pesto sandwich I had it....good, not amazing, and here's why: the "pesto" is mayo based and I'm not a fan of mayo (especially a lot of it, which the sammie has). The sandwich seemed rather uninspired to me and certainly not worth $10.95! All of us had sandwiches and had the same conclusion. I will say that the staff was warm, quick and friendly, wonderful patio vibe, and nice place. I would try something else next time. I just can't support all the rave reviews here.

This is one of my favorite spots in the Valley I've been to all 3 locations and they're all pretty much the same but I like this one for its location and its the nearest one for me. I pretty much always get the grilled chicken pesto sandwich and its always AMAZING, no seriously best pesto sandwich you'll ever have. I've also tried their salads also good and you honestly cannot go wrong with most of the items on the menu. Make sure to try the desserts if you have a sweet tooth, the nutella crepe is delicious and leaves you very satisfied. Nothing but good stuff here :D

Although I've been to all three locations. This place is my favorite by far. It's a small, cute and cozy and I love all the waiters here. Super friendly and they always remember you once you're a regular. I always always always order a chicken panini with extra pesto and sun dried tomatoes on the side. Sometimes, I might get a side salad but I always make sure to leave some room for the nutella croissant stuffed with your choice of bananas, strawberries, both or just nutella. Super yummy, and definitely worth every penny. Yum!

Chicken special sandwich! That is all. I've been here a few times on a Saturday afternoon and it could get a bit crowded. I'm a girl who sticks with what she knows and likes and I like, well no scratch that, I LOVE their half chicken special sandwich and caesar salad. From the crunchy bread to the garlic pesto sauce I adore every bite of this sammie. The service is great and the patio seating is perfect. Parking can be chaotic so don't pass up those open meters. Love love love this place.

This place has bomb panini sandwiches! I always order the chicken pesto panini and guaranteed top it off with a nice nutella and banana croissant pressed panini style and topped off with powder sugar! You have a very relaxing seating area right on Ventura blvd and the service is great! I highly recommend everybody to try this spot for the perfect lunch.

    (5)
  • Ted R.

Great food but they are always busy so it's not always the best service. The chicken special is amazing, it has the best pesto sauce and the tuna lovers special sandwich is really good too. Recommend if you like panini's and want to chill on the blvd.

  • Milana K.

Just like the original location in Beverly Hills, the food here is amazing. It never fails me everything on the menu is great. I recently tried pasta (which I never even thought of ordering, but that was really good too) Always get the croissant with nutella, nothing beats this desert!!! I like how they have been doing lunch specials and happy hours recently to attract new customers. I like this location more then Beverly Hills simply because they have a nicer patio and its a prettier place to sit outside, and isn't as cramped as the Beverly Hills location!

Really like this spot. So hard to find good Italian food in LA, but this definitely qualifies, and it's a bit on the cheaper side. Nice environment, perfect lunch spot. Try the ravioli with pink sauce.

  • Wuhoo S.

The best Panini place in Los Angeles!! I get their Chicken Special. Something about the peppers, avocado schmear, and the way they grill their tasty chicken makes this one of the most mouth-watering hot chicken Panini. The chicken is never dry, and the vegetables are never bitter. I get an extra serving or balsamic vinaigrette and pesto sauce to dip the sandwich in. It is an explosion of all the good things made on this earth in your mouth in a single bite!! I like to wash down my heavier Panini with an Orangina (sparkling, orange drink with pulp) and some kettle chips on the side. Their salads are standard as are their soups. But their desserts, like their paninis, are fantastic!! I recommend the cannolis.

Went to this place last night with a friend, we split between the two of us a chicken special and and fettucini Alfredo.the service was great food came out fast and everyone that worked there was very friendly I will be back very soon.my friend and I couldn't have been happier with the place overall.

Customer service is great! My favorite Italian restaurant. I love Il Tramezzino. Two close friends of my girlfriend and I brought us out here when we first moved to LA. We love it. Great little place for lunch with friends. They have an outdoor seating area with heaters which is nice. I always order the Penne Milano which is tasty and the portion is just right. Definitely need to go back. As I am writing this review, my stomach is growling. This means lunch here soon. *Calls up friends*

I LOVE IL TRAMEZZINO! I've been coming here for a good 6 years, and I still don't get sick of this place. Honestly I order the same things.. - Honey dijon chips with the dip - Bruschetta (occasionally) - CHICKEN SPECIAL SANDWICH - Croissant nutella (with banana and strawberry) It hasn't changed in so long, and highly doubt it will. I LOVE THE CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE! they are all awesome, once they see me walking in they already know what I order and they just put it in. Very friendly and helpful, you feel very comfortable. Basically love this location since I've been coming here for so long, but I now work next to the Il tram in Tarzana, they are just a great!

TVery nice place. The foods great also. I tried 3 of their pastas, and liked all 3. My girl really liked the pasta with the pink sauce haha. There seating is perfect. Interior seating is very comfortable. They got couches inside, and outside is shaded with many umbrellas which is nice. Their staff are very friendly and always check up on you. The best part is there are a lot of cute single girls here fellas.

Man oh Man! I love Il Tram! EVERYTHING! From the panini's to salads to DESERT! The desert and COFFEE is OUT OF THIS WORLD AMAZING! I get a Cafe Mocha always after I eat, and its the best Cafe Mocha in the world! The tiramusi and nutella crosiant is so amazing, WOW words cannot describe it! I put pictures up! look at them the pictures describe how good it is way more then my words can.

I've really never had any complaints or bad experiences at Il Tram. I've introduced it to tons of friends and everyone is instantly hooked once they get the Chicken Special. It's the #1 chicken sandwich on the menu but regulars call it the Chicken Special. I always ask for extra pesto because it's amazing when it's dripping out of the sandwich and because I'm a condiment whore. Start with the pickled veggies and end with the strawberry and banana Nutella. Really can't vouch for anything else on the menu... except I did do the half sandwich/half salad once and the caesar was great with freshly grated parmesan. Also, they just redid their sidewalk patio on Ventura Blvd. so it's a perfect lunch spot but if you want to sit inside take the corner table with the leopard pillows.

  • Frankie F.

Love this place the good is always delicious and the staff is always very welcoming and joyful. Parking is a little bit difficult and annoying but all places on Ventura usually have the same situation. Overall this place is really good never had a bad tasting meal ever.

WORST customer service ever. I called to place a delivery order and after being put on hold for the better part of ten minutes I hung up and called back. They then told me I could not place two orders on the phone only one and immediately hung up on me. So incredibly rude and never again will I order from them.

  • Ilya T.

The only thing I have tried here has been the Chicken Special Panini with extra pesto sauce on the side. It is one of the best paninis I have ever tried. The quality of the chicken is good. The pesto is some of the best that I have had. It is not too thick and the flavor does not overtake the sandwich, like some pesto does. It's a bit on the pricey side, but its definitely worth it. I will have to try something else from their menu next time I go.

Hands down the best sandwich spot in the valley. I wish there was one in every city. The staff is great. Very attentive and pleasant. The food is something else! The salads, soups, sandwiches, and desserts are delicious. My favorite salad is the Southbeach Crisp or something like that. My favorite soup is the Broccoli Cheese. My favorite sandwich is the Prosciutto Clasico but with goat cheese, a really good simpler option is the Chicken Special. And for dessert either a Nutella croissant with bananas or the tiramisu. My mouth is watering!

Ehhhh. This place is aight. I know everyone will vouch for the chicken special, but every other thing on the menu is just so-so. A bit overpriced and underwhelming. Service is so-so.

Tuna panini & salad = $25.00 and the salad was basic.

I love the chicken special here! You have to order it with extra pesto and balsamic dressing on the side to make it a truly amazing sandwich! I would also suggest ordering the honey Dijon chips with pesto to dip it in as a starter. For dessert, if you have room, order the croissant with nutella, bananas and strawberries. It is to die for! I absolutely love the Tarzana location but this location has absolutely the worst service of any restaurant that I have ever been to. The first time I went, I asked for bread and when I received the check, I realized they had charged me for bread. Are you kidding me? After this, I swore I would never go to this location but then they offered a groupon. So the next time I go, it turned out that they had cancelled the groupon. I decided to stay since the boyfriend and I had already made the trip to Studio City. I sit on the patio for about 10-15 min and none of the waiters had come by to offer water or even take our order. I finally couldn't take it anymore so I went up to the counter and the guy had the nerve to say, quite rudely, that he was just coming out. After we had received our food, no one had come to check on us at all. Unbelievable.

I would have given these place 4 stars but due to the great service provided by "George" they definitely deserve a 5. Came here after a hike and shared their tomato bisque, Caesar salad, and Dijon Panini. All delicious and tasty and the only complaint I would have is the size of the Panini but hey perhaps after a long hike I was a bit too hungry!!! We asked about deserts but then had to leave and George was courteous enough to bring it to us anyways. Very yummy nutella wrap with strawberries. Their service is efficient and fast. Place is clean with nice outdoor seating around. They do have wine so if you would like to enjoy a glass or two while having a nice evening that is good to have as well. Will definitely go back soon.

The location of this eatery is lovely, and the sidewalk patio is adorable. The waitstaff was courteous and even brought a dish of water for my pug (I didn't even have to ask!). As for the food: I may have picked the wrong item for my first meal at Il Tramezzino. I ordered the Specialty Chicken Breast Sandwich, and it wasn't quite what I expected. I didn't realize that the chicken breast would be chopped into cubes, and I expected avocado slices rather than an avocado puree. I also didn't expect there to be so much garlic sauce; the sandwich dripped quite a bit. It was good, but I can't say it was great. Also, for $12.95, a side of salad or fruit seems called for. However, the pastas that other diners were eating looked very yummy, and given all the positive word I've heard about this place, I am open to giving Il Tramezzino another try!

They are not accepting the groupons they had up the other day... wish they would have told us BEFORE we ordered. I had given the coupon to the waiter before we ordered... and the manager said this was a problem all day, so they really should have put up a sign. I thought they dealt with the entire thing in a really annoying way... I understand promos don't always go as planned, but the manager (owner...whatever?) was just kind of aggressive and rude about the whole thing. Even if this is a problem with Groupon, it ended up being a problem for ME and sourred the entire lunch... and we weren't the only grouponers there that felt this way. Will not be returning & wanted to warn other grouponers out there.

"they employ ex con looking waiters...wtf, way to ruin my nice lunch." - jacqueline p. ("You grow up the day you have your first real laugh -- at yourself.") yelp.com/biz/il-tramezzi… Jacqueline P.: I wanna be your waiter! What does an ex-con like? Hmmmmmm? I read Jacqueline P.'s review of il Tramezzino and made a bee line for it to see the ex-con looking waiters, because I've always wondered what people mean when they say to me: "Gee, you don't LOOK like an ex-con or a felon." And I get that a lot. And after all, I'm here in LA to moderate a panel on safe and successful reentry strategies - primarily for young people who leave prison. Who knows. Maybe I can get a few of them waiter jobs at il Tramezzino. So, I set out for lunch. The out door patio is delightful. The menu borders on vast for a small place. The food: all looked delicious. I decided on a Soup of the Day (tomato) and a Tuna Lover's Scoop, which had avocado, red peppers and other good stuff mixed in. The waiter: really, he looked fine to me. But just to make sure I asked him: "are you an ex-con?" He said: "awe c'mon....do I really look like one? You must be thinking of Jacqueline P.'s review. EVERYBODY asks me that. But nope. Not an ex-con. Sorry." I wasn't in the mood to try the renowned chicken sandwich, but I may go back today to see if I can find any ex-cons. Oh, another thing: The fresh orange juice was out of this world.

Nice Il Trem. It wasn't crowded when I went, but empty. The waiter was chill, we just said "2 chicken specials" as we walked in and he then brought out water. The outside patio is nice because it's somewhat secluded and has ivy on the wall, which is a nice touch. The chicken specials arrived promptly and they're good as always... a really nice sandwich. The cold chicken in the middle is actually a nice contrast to the hot bread. In my opinion they put a little too much aioli on the sandwich. The cheese also doesn't do much for me. All in all, a nice spot. However, parking sucks on Ventura at any time of day, so be ready to parallel park with cars behind you.

I love to walk to this place and order take out. 99% of the time I will order their chicken special sandwich. It's the best! If you choose to sit and eat, it's always a good experience. Their staff has always been friendly and helpful, and I've never had to wait long for my food. They are also very dog friendly, you can have your dog sit outside with you on the patio. It's also a great people watching spot :) And for those who live close and don't feel like making an appearance, they now deliver!

I come visit LA at least twice a year to see all my friends, and each time i come i make sure to come to il trem. The sandwiches are to die for. And by sandwiches i mean their chicken special. Never in my life have i eaten a better sandwich. I dont know ( well i have some clue) how they make it, but i cant get enough. I've ordred pastas and different sandwiches here before and nothing compares (although everything i ordered is still delicious) to their chicken special. I also really like their set up. Very liad back atmosphere, nice outdoor seating. The only thing i would change is the waiter service. The last time i was there it seemed like they employ ex con looking waiters...wtf, way to ruin my nice lunch. Other then that, great place :D

I love the food here. The chicken sandwich is great and so is the Penne Lorenzo. For desert, my favorite choice is the Croissant Nutella with Strawberries...yum! Only gripe is that today we went there for lunch and they didn't bring us out any bread but, they did for everyone else around us. Maybe they just forgot. 2 notes: Valet parking now...no self parking They deliver for lunch

get the Tuna Special. It is probably one of the best sandwiches in town. The service is always great, the staff is very friendly and the restaurant is very clean. They have a great outdoor sitting area. We are so happy to have this restaurant so close to us.

Hands down my favorite place to eat lunch when I'm in the Studio City general area. I know they make lots of food I haven't tried all of it but their Panini's are to die for. Pretty much any vegetarian sandwich they make I've had, it's reasonably priced, but the parking is a hassell but worth it in my opinion. Weekends are insane there so if it's your first time I recommend you go between 2-4 on a weekday so your not turned off by the busyness of the 11:30-1:30 work crowd, and the weekend crowds.

Um I think I just stumbled upon the best chicken panini sandwich thus far. I don't know what Il Tramezzino means... maybe "Sorry, you'll never look at chicken panini's the same way again?" I was definitely surprised in a good way. The sundried tomato along w/ the basil garlic sauce is MONEY. Sure other restaurants use the same ingredients in their paninis but Il Tram's perfect ratio of ingredients blends into an indescribable, highly addictive flavor. I couldn't stop myself from eating the second half of my sandwich. On top of that, their bread is like a crusty like a baguette (not overly greased like some panini places who shall remained unnamed) and that perfectly rounds out the melt-in-your-mouth-delicious chicken filling. Yum, you won't be disappointed!

If I'd not read yelp reviews I would not have gone here....and I also would not have had such high expectations. The food was meh. But the service was great. Not sure what all the hype is about but I thought it was a pleasant meal.

Went here for lunch with a large group of coworkers and have never been more disappointed with a restaurant. The paninis were bricks of tastelessness and the pasta could only be described as a soft, wet pulpy mass. It pains me to say this, but even Cheesecake Factory can do better.

I have no idea what people are saying worse place ever. People that say that about this place are either super picky about everything, or there just ragging it all the time. Don't listen to the bad reveiws this place is amazing. Food is so good. The service is always great. Definitely recommend this restaurant to anybody looking for some great sandwiches, pastas, and specially desert.

Outstanding service. Great food. Outstanding service. We were offered water while waiting on the sidewalk for our friend, offered to have our ice teas put into to go cups when we left. It was a very hot day, so that was appreciated. Multiple people greeted us, multiple people said goodbye, but not in a smothering way, in a way that felt like they care about their guests. I don't live in the valley, but this will be my first choice if I am meeting a friend there.

i went here to grab some lunch with my sister. i wouldn't really call this place a real Italian cafe, but it is a nice place with pleasant outside seating facing Ventura Blvd. i ordered the Bella and added prosciutto to the sandwich. i was expecting to taste the fresh basil and a light pesto flavor, but in my surprise, they had added a lot of mayonnaise to the sandwich which killed the flavor. it was interesting because on the menu they dont mention that the sandwich has any sauce, except pesto. my sister had the Venezia and felt that the mayo was too much on that sandwich as well. the menu does mention that the venezia has mayo, but i think they had over done it. my recommendation would be to ask your waiter/waitress to go easy on the mayo, or not even put it on the sandwich.

Picture if you will blizzard-like conditions in Los Angeles (51 degrees), a sky filled with horrifying greys and ghastly deep blues (like, 3 potential rain clouds) and then picture us (Michael E and I), deciding to eat...outside? What in God's name were we thinking and how on Earth did we survive!!!! Well, just barely, I mean, with weather like this, man, it's a miracle. But thanks to the help of a nice warm panini filled with prosciutto, goat cheese, mushrooms and arugula, we were able to get through our lunch with only a few shivers. As for the rest of the experience, it was a cute place. The service was a bit slow, but that might have been our outside in the far corner table choice, but really it wasn't really all that bad. Besides the guys were nice and the food was fair. Not sure that I would rush back here again, but it worked as a cool little joint to grab a bite on a Saturday afternoon.

I grew up in the valley, Il Tram was theeee place to go to lunch back in the day. It was consistently delicious and they let you smoke outside. Then I grew up and neglected my chicken special sandwiches with that amazing green pesto garlic goodness.... So the girls and I decided to do a lunch date, sit outside and enjoy the nice sunshine and smog and pollute our lungs with nicotine... the service is always amazing, I don't know what anyone else is talking about, in fact the manager always comes out to say hi....but the sandwich? what did you guys do to my chicken special? is it because my taste buds had matured? is it because all that smoking had killed my taste buds? it was cold. and weird. Turns out its some law thing from some group who's initials I don't really remember but they need to keep their chicken cold, but you can ask them to warm it up for you... everything is amazing... minus them charging you like $4 for bread...and its not even fancy bread try: chicken special with extra pesto mikela salad and surprisingly enough, their fettuchini is amazing with all the mushrooms...well it was good 5 years ago when i ate carbs

I went here for a coworkers birthday and was pleasantly surprised. I'm not a big sandwich person, it's the one thing that I just can't see spending money when it's the easiest thing to make at home. The sandwiches at Il Tramezzino, are no ordinary sandwiches. I ordered the Chicken Dijon and it was really good. It did have a strong Dijon flavor that cleared out my sinuses immediately, but I'm kind of a wimp when it comes to a little spice. I also got this pesto sauce on the side to dip my sandwich in. Total fat-ass move I know, but I LOVE sauces and this one was no exception. I don't think I could eat any sandwich from there without it. The sandwiches come alone, but trust me, you don't really need a side of anything. You are so full just from the sandwich alone. The parking is a little bit of a pain. It's all street parking. So either you usually have to park a ways down, or across Ventura blvd and play frogger getting across. You'll have built up quit an appetite by the time you reach the restaurant.

GREAT sandwiches, great service. The grilled chicken sandwich (ordered by 4 out of 5 people) is fantastic! Love this place and sitting outside to enjoy the day.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
