Went to the GK in Stockton for the first time tonight. First time for any mongolian bbq actually. It wasn't that busy and the food was great. I like that I got to choose what and how much of the meat, veggies, etc were in the bowl. Our meal came with soup, a little bowl of rice, some fried wontons and some type of bread/biscuit with sesame seeds on top. The waitress was friendly and checked on us quite a few times to see if we wanted refills. I'm already planning another visit within the next few weeks.

Very dirty. Tables dirty, grill not cleaned often. Floor sticky. Food so-so. I have no desire to go back.

So I've enjoyed West lanes counter part on March for years. Its hard to mess up Mongolian BBQ so it's an easy 4 stars. Ingredients are consistently fresh and this place is a little cleaner than March Lane. If you're hungry and you don't have a ton to spend consider this place. Here's my fav concoction at any Mongolian BBQ spot. Fill the bowl just below the brim with chicken. ( don't be afraid to use your elbow to smash it in there to get the most bang for your buck) add tofu, green onions, cilantro, spinach, baby corn a little shredded carrot and bean sprouts. (this should leave your bowl piled high, if not you're doing it wrong) Add teriyaki sauce, cooking wine, garlic and hot sauce. BAM!!! enjoy :) p.s. if you skip the noodles like i do you can actually make this a high protein low fat/carb nutritious meal.

Noodles were undercooked and ingredients did not taste fresh. Bathrooms were filthy and tables weren't wiped down. Their Tracy location is way better!

My grandpa &I are used to going to the Venetian Bridges location. However, we recently decided to try the West Lane location, and were overall satisfied. Especially since we didn't have to stare at those tacky pink walls anymore. The young waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. The man who cooked our food didn't make us wait one second after we finished preparing our bowls. We each gave him a little extra tippage since he was super friendly as well. I don't know about anyone else, but, I love the food. I'm always so full when I leave and can never resist to pack the rest of my meal up and bring it home for later.

Awesome meal and we had about 30 of us from water polo and they were extremely accommodating. Really delicious food and simple to grab a bowl and veggies to prepare!! The soup was delicious and so was the rice. Planning on heading back next time we head this way!!

GK Mongolian on E Hammer Ln in Stockton, California. Yelp Challenge 12/100 I came in the other day with my two eldest children for lunch here. My eldest chose this place to celebrate my birthday. Since I went to the other location with my youngest. These two wanted to try this place out. Note: My bday is in January and I celebrate for the whole month. Because thats how a Ninja rolls. If you didn't read any of my past reviews tip: This year I mixed it up, My three kids picked out places they wanted to take me for my bday month. I'm on that hungry status tip before 3:30 pm it's lunch only one serving and past, is all you can eat for $9.95 Tip: They take credit Pro tip: They serve alcohol NFL Tip: They have a restroom Major league tip: Good for large groups Don Juan tip: Great for a date We came in and the staff was changing everything over because they were getting ready for dinner. You can pick your own table but the waitress picked out a table for us. We grabbed our bowls and started to pile them up with noodles and toppings. Our drinks, eggflower soup and rice was waiting for us. So that was cool and we got informed that our egg rolls will be out shortly. The first thing, I noticed is the rice bowl they gave us is smaller here. Then the egg rolls came out and you get those instead of the peanut butter biscuits that they serve at the other location in town. Also you don't get the won ton chips here either. The $7.95 lunch bowl you get is bigger than the dinner bowl. Because it's only one serving so pile it up high to get your moneys worth. The service felt a little rushed, I think it was shift change because the cook and the waitress were different once 3:30 pm started. The dinner rush was swarming in with the quickness. We didn't even finish our food and our ticket was already for us to get cashed out. That's the only thing, I would have to say. But now I know come here at a different time. My heir to my throne tip:) my Son is crazy picky The biggest surprise of it all was my son, I was lightweight tripping because he actually enjoyed his meal. That right there made my day. He told me he would like to comeback whoop whoop. :) My eldest daughter she enjoyed her food the soup, rice and egg rolls was enough for her. She got really full off half of the bowl and took the rest home. My food was good and I always add them peanuts to it. It's a little crunchy but it tastes Gucci Meng. The egg rolls are basic egg roles but I really did want those peanut butter biscuits. Vincent Vega tip: check my other review for GK Mongolian to see the pictures of what Peanut butter biscuits are. Like always, I had a wonderful time with my children and we'll be definitely be coming back soon. Doing what this Daddy does best spending time with my children. My children are my world and everything else in life is a bonus. Vincent D aka VD aka Vebola aka Vincent Vega. Always, enjoying the simple things in life.

Came here bc we thought it was different than the Grand Canal location (which I was sick of). Low and behold, same owners. I will say this location seemed cleaner and had a few more options, the main one I remember was asparagus, which was delicious. Everything else was the same: same free soda w to-go, same prices at dinner and lunch, etc

I only go to Stockton for two reasons. 1. To accompany my roommate to visit her family 2. To eat Mongolian BBQ! ! I'm not from Stockton and I have to say that this is one of my favorite restaurants of all time. It's so delicious, and it's so cheap! You have a huge bowl to add as much noodles, meat, veggies, sauces , etc. as you can , then the cook will pour it all onto a round cooker and fry it all right in front of you. With your bowl you're given a small bowl of rice, and soup with ice cold water. It's nice to have some variety with the BBQ it helps me fill up with other food so I have enough BBQ left over to take to go. You're allowed more than one bowl but you can't take it to go if you have more than one. I think? It's been awhile since I've been but the next time I'm in Stockton I will be there as soon as I can!

Bad service. Won't let you take your second plate to go even when they charge you for it. They charge for dinner if you order a second plate but don't give you dinner quality service (no biscuit). Also we had to fight to get a big box to take home food and they watch you to make sure you don't take some from a second plate.

I was very excited to try them after years since I've moved away. Plus side is they have shrimp and down side is everything you cook with it smells and tastes fishy and even worse the next day. Next time I will try without the added shrimp. Their sauces are great and they cook it fully to make sure the sauce gets all the way through and turns the noodles dark. The beef was chewy but overall flavorful. The soup is good and the price is excellent for the portions.

Update*** For some reason, the taste of the food is no longer the same. Has an old taste to it. If you're craving some Mongolian, they have another location on Grand Canal BLVD. My poor husband got food poisoning from this location, and now will no longer eat Mongolian BBQ :(

My recent trip was a little disappointing in area of service. My food was delicious, and I found out children eat for free. However, upon paying for my meal and requesting boxes, I was refused a third box for my son's food. I didn't quite understand why at first, but then I realized that they were likely trying to prevent people from getting a child's meal for the purpose of getting a second bowl of food for free. While that makes sense, it's a bit disrespectful in my opinion. This restaurant seems to be assuming the worst of people, and instead of trusting that I actually do want to feed my child, they've assumed I plan to scam them out of a free meal for myself. I'm not that type of person, and if they honestly think people are going to do that, then add a kid's meal to the menu for a reduced price so that my child can eat.

Food Was Decent. The Restaurant Is On The Messy Side. I Like The Tracy Location Better.

  • Wendy B.

DIRTY and not one time did I see any of them clean the griddle nor did anyone come out to clean the counters. So, DISGUSTING. My food tasted burnt. Never going back or recommending this place to anyone.

  • Miranda H.

Mediocre service, I expected that though. A little messy but I believe we walked in after a rush because employees were scrambling around to clean everything. Slim pickings an hour and a half before closing. Also expected. Still so many options and the only options I would pick even if there were more, although it would have been nice to have some bell pepper, they should fill up until last call paying customers deserve the full experience an hour before closing or an hour after opening. Convenient location, plenty of seating, quick, reasonably priced and absolutely delicious and unique. I will be back, earlier next time and with a huge appetite!

  • Heather B.

We walked in the place was dead, no one looked at us or told us where to sit. We grabbed a table. My daughter and I go up to get our food slim picking on meat they had not filled back up. Low on veggies and the sauce area was a mess. My dad and husband go up and they ran out of noodles and have to wait for them to bring some out. The cook sees people coming and decides to clean the stove I guess from the lunch rush. This Just Turned My Stomach You Should Do This Before Opening The doors. Noodles Good at least you can make it the way you want it. Side Comes with white rice... The rice was terrible. It was not cooked all the way Fried wonton were cold and stale. Bread thing they give was cold and dough like. Not fully cooked. Service was terrible had to go and ask for drinks. Soda was flat. Get ready to pay the lady tells my husband the machine was broken to leave our card number and she would run it yeah not happening. He goes grabs cash she then tells him the machine is now working. Don't think I will be back.

Just left the restaurant and had the worst service ever!! The woman who was serving my table was the worst server she never came to my table once the entire meal.. Then we went up to ask for refills when paying and she said she would get them for us and NOPE! I feel like she purposely did not bring us refills because she knew we were done anyways and knew we would get tired of waiting and leave. Wish I had got her name. First time ever having terrible service here. I was there from about 1230pm until 130pm.

Love this place.. Always fresh ingredients. The only thing is they are kind stingy on refilling drinks. But overall its a great place for lunch or dinner

  • Raymond L.

The first time I went the service was pretty good, group of 9. But the second time I went, a group of 7, service was horrible. I know you build your own bowl of noodles, I'm not complaining about that, and give it to their grill cook. My had to ask the waitress to get our sodas, where we still waited 20 minutes when we had to ask her again. We were waiting for someone so we understood why they wouldn't come right away but 20+ minutes is ridiculous. It eventually took 30-40 minutes to get soda. They also didn't give my friend who joined us a bowl of soup, I'm pretty sure the staff hasn't changed I have no idea why the service went down so much. But the grill cooks were still wonderful, so there is that ;3

I love making my own Chowmein, a little bit of this and that and this...full bowl and I love that I can pack it Togo just as long as you can't finish your first bowl, all you can eat for dinner for a great price. Come here a couple times a time

This place is gross, gross, gross. Not just kinda messy, I mean disgusting. We used to come here because it was so much cleaner than the old one on Canal. Tonight there were piles of noodles and veggies all over the counter and carpet. No one bothered to even try to clean it while we were there. While we were in line the food ran out, no one came to refill and they just stopped cooking and all the employees were in the back. Everyone in line just stood there for 10 minutes waiting. Finally one of the ladies came out and started dumping more food into the containers. You can't just add fresh food to dirty water-filled containers! They are not following basic food sanitation procedures and I'm amazed they haven't been shut down. There was a pitcher on one of the counters that still had the price from a thrift store written on the side- good job washing your used kitchen tools! The grill area is filthy and so greasy. There is food splattered everywhere- all over the hanging sign, floating in the sauces. Some (but not all) of the tofu in my bowl tasted weird and sour- probably from dumping fresh food into old food. We were calling it tofu Russian Roulette. Eat here if you want diarrhea.

Went in today with the wife after not having been there for years and was highly disappointed with the place . Wasn't the same as before , the chefs that cooked our food looked irritated and snatched our bowls from us , paid $20 for a chowmein Togo with water downed sodas , food area was a huge mess , but overall taste of food was given 3 stars . Would like to see more of the employees smile more & clean up the place rather than look at you like your retarded for shoving down the meat in the bowl To get your money's worth . Not going to go back after tonight .

  • Amber T.

Average food for average price. Not great but not terrible. The quality of service is pretty bad, however. The waitress didn't even wipe down my table before my party sat down. I will always remember how there was something stuck to the table and she only tried to wipe it away with her hands and smeared it into the table. There was a mark left and I had to clean it myself. Disgusting.

I am in love with this place!!!! First time here, you gotta experiment with the sauces and see what works for you! Don't give up!!!! First, grab a bowl and you fill it with whatever you want! Meat, noodles, vegetables are your options! I love mine with a ton of veggies, very little noodles, and no meat! Don't be alarmed if your bowl overfills! They cook your food then put it in a bigger bowl! Sauces that work for me: 2 scoops of the house sauce, 2-3 scoops of the GK special sauce, 2-3 of the teriyaki sauce, maybe 1/2-1 of the sweet and sour, I skip the lobster sauce, ~2 garlic chips, skip the ginger, cooking oil, and sesame oil... Am I missing anything? Kinda naming what I remember haha :P Anyhow, this place is awesome!!! I constantly crave this place!!!!! LET'S GO ON A DATE TO GK?! :P

  • Jennifer H.

Roaches!!! I went to this place to get some takeout for lunch today and I witnessed the woman behind the counter sneeze into her hands repeatedly and then not wash them. Then when I went to the counter to put food in my bowl, I actually saw cockroaches on the counters and in the food! It was the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. Do not eat here!!!

the food was good. you customize what you want. dinner is all you can eat. refills were intact. cooks were cool. everything including service was good. it was just too much mongolian bbq for me after one bowl. will be returning back

I wouldn't really recommend coming here on a weekend day, I usually come here and it's decent but today is by far the worst experience horrible customer service wasn't sanitary you good see the grease after they so called cleaned the table refills on drinks almost never happen. Also would like to add the cleanliness overall is constantly getting worse time and time again soon i will no longer come if it continues.

Been going to this place since my husband introduced me to it over 15 years ago. Love how I can make a dish that fits what I like. My fave...all veggies with lots of sauces. Yummm.

Good food and great service. I am always surprised when people remember me, especially when I haven't visited an establishment in quite a while! We walked in and immediately the server remembers that everyone I am with orders Diet Coke. You go through the assembly line piling up your plate with whatever ingredients you like...then bam! The cook cooks it for you on the huge hot plate type a grill and bon appetite!

This is one of my favorite places in this area. They have gone down hill a little bit the past few years. I always ask for them to clean the wok before cooking my bowl and I never seem to have a problem with the food. Now the place can be messy at times because people do overstuff their bowls and it gets all over the place, but the waitresses are always friendly and welcoming. $9 for an all you can eat dinner not so bad.

    (4)
  • Christian J.

service is ok. rarely get checked on but the food is great. i always leave full and satisfied.

  • Robert Y.

If you really like noodles this is the place for you. All you can eat stir fry noodles with whatever you want in them for ~$11 isnt too bad but I would rather go to like a round table buffet as after the first or second bowl you are kinda bored and tired of the noodles. The meat is like freeze dried frozen but the veggies are relatively fresh. Complementary soup, salad, and pastry dessert.

it's the worst place ever!! sophie the chubby girl up front, she is very rude and racist!! don't get me wrong i mean if your white she will cater to your every need, but if your any other race be expected to be serve last!! im going to cut a long story short. i've never been treated so awful in my life, we didn't eat our food and left literally shaking!!! not to mention the place is dirty and all the bowls dishes are filthy!! food still stuck on it from previous dinners, yuck!! thanks sophie for ruining our lunch!! :/

We have been here for a while now and I do have to say that out of the three GKs around the area this is the best one. The isn't always the fastest but they do try their best and it's busy they can't keep up, but they do the best they can. They are always friendly. Great food.

GK Mongolian BBQ is my absolute favorite restaurant to go to. I've been going here for years, sometimes more than once a week. I have never once had a single complaint. All of the employees are incredibly sweet and recognize my entire family every single time and already know all of our drink orders. We've never met outside of the restaurant. As a very picky eater, this restaurant is very ideal for me because I can pick whatever I want and make my own meal. They are always very speedy cooking the food and the waitresses are very attentive. I can always know I will leave full, happy, and satisfied. They are also priced very, very reasonably considering how much food you are able to get.

  • Laurie R.

This location is great. The staff is so friendly and tentative to your needs. AKA, they refill your drinks and get your rice, egg rolls and soup out on the table quick. The counters where you pick out your ingredients are clean (and honestly, if it isn't, the place is packed and you will see the staff cleaning up as they continue to make a mess all over the counters). The food is great because you choose what goes in it :) I'm obsessed with GK because of their awesome noodles and fresh ingredients. There is another GK in Stockton near I5 and it isn't as up to date like this one. The Tracy location is very nice. I highly recommend going here. Even if you are weird like me and hate buffets, this place is great!

I am so disappointed in this place. Walked in to be seated at a hella dirty Tabel and the food was all over the floor. With a long line. Super bummed will definitely not recommend this place

  • Sheri G.

They close at 9:30 and we arrived shortly after 9. The lady asks us if we are for here or to go. We said for here would be great, but then she reminded us of their closing time. So I suppose 9:30 isn't when they just stop serving, it's also when they want you to GTFO. Taking the hint, we decided to get it to go. I guess I don't get it. I put a scoop of almost every kind of sauce in my bowl. BBQ, House sauce, Lobster Sauce, garlic chips, sesame oil...hit it with the garlic salt too, and still the whole dish was bland. I was wishing I had some plum sauce at home to add some flavor, but no such luck. I'm plum out of reasons to go to this place again too.

  • Robert M.

Went there recently with my daughter. We used to love this place, but...... The food has become very average. The service is poor and the place is dirty. We waited until our BBQ was cold to be delivered silverware. We completed our meal and watched multiple servers walk by a dirty napkin in the middle of the walk way. May not give this place another chance.

  • Meryl C.

I seem to be getting the hang of choosing sauces and seasonings to make my food palatable- this place has always been a no-no for me because I could never make a combination of meats, veggies and noodles good enough to eat an entire bowl! Came here for early dinner with the in-laws and the kids. Was served soup, rice and chinese biscuits. (OMG chinese biscuits... I need to learn how to make you, like yesterday!). We would maybe come here again, if the kids are in a good mood and it's not busy. I find that I have to choose places that we can get in and out fast, before the kids get antsy... and this place did ok. Having the two cooks at the grill helped out a lot when the line seemed to get long... overall satisfied with my experience here!

I do not even know where to start. The food was just bad. I've been to several other Mongolian places and without a doubt this is the worst of all. I know how to make a decent dish with limited options. I had mangolian in much bigger cities like NY and at much smaller places than Stockton. The problem with this place is .. Wait .. There are several. I went in at around 5:30 pm to grab a quick to go so I can go back to my room and watch my dearest spurs play. This place was unclean.. Very unclean. I understand if they were swamped and super busy that they didn't have someone to keep up the cleanliness of the line but at 5:30pm when there was just me and few other flies around nobody bothered cleaning the dishes and the surroundings. There is food all around and oil/sauces flowing on the counter tops. There options to build your custom noodles are very limited compared to several other places. The options of sauces and oils are pathetic. So flavorless .. Im totally surprised by the reviews. Maybe this is as good as it gets for Stockton .. But for me it's sub sub sub par. I'll avoid this place at any cost. PS: dinner to go is $9.65 incl taxes. You get a very doughy sesame seed thing which I left in the same to go bag I got it in after a bite and some puffs/fries which are just drenched in over fried oil. Just yuck! I am beyond nauseated thinking about going back here again!

I am not a fan of Mongolian BBQ. However, this place is OK. I would come here for the all-you-can-eat because it is not to pricy. The food tastes average. All mongolian BBQ tastes the same to me. The cooks work really hard and really fast though. However, the service could improve a little. It always takes me forever to get some water.

I have to say that I didn't like my meal, but that's my fault all alone. This was my first experience at a mongolian bbq place. I heard many times that it was good for a quick meal, but for some reason never had the time to really find one in my area. So when I saw GK, I wanted to try it out. I initially didn't know how the restaurant functions, so I was bit confused until I spoke to the waitress at the counter. So I when started picking my items, I kept going back and forth for what I wanted. I added the meat, noodles, veggies, cooking oil and sauces. I was a bit sloppy. Then waited for my turn to get my meal cooked. As for food, you can only blame yourself, so I do. This place received a low rating due to cleanliness. When I went to each station, there was a clutter of foods spread out everywhere. Over at the cooking oil and sauce stations, there were oil and sauces all over the counter, Which made the counter sticky. The tables are a bit too close together in set up. Plus, if you eat here, you might end up smelling the food being cooked to steam and smoke of the cooking burner. To be honest, I'll give this place another shot. They were extremely busy when I was here and I believe my meal will be better from my prior experience. I believe the lunch time rush caused my grievances.

Very yummy food. I just wish you were able to get 2 bowls with no restrictions, you have to pay extra and no take home box if you get 2 bowls. I have never been disappointed.

I have been going to this ace for years and love the food. I went to eat there a week or so ago for lunch and I also made my two year old a very small bowl( the equivalent of maybe a cup of food). Now I've never been charged in the past for his food de to such a small amount. I didn't mind paying for his bowl but asked our waitress if I can actually make like a half of another bowl to make it worth the 7.50 that I was about to pay. The waitress responded yes that it wouldn't be a problem. I then asked one one the main waitresses for the to go container that way after they cook it I could just have it ready to go . She then proceeded to tell me that to against their policy to allow me to get more food ad whatever I originally cooked is what I have to pay for. I explained that our waitress told me differently. When she asked our waitress the girl totally denied it and stated I have no idea what ur talking about. I asked to speak to the manager who gapped to be the cook and he barely spoke English. Basically he told me that the the policy is the policy and thy didn't care if they lost business over a half a bowl

Not mind blowing food although it was decent. Nice staff but place was filthy. Looks like floor hasn't been swept in days, dirty tables, bathroom horrendous. Probably wont give it another chance.

came closer to closing time which means you just get to eat the scraps that are still left out. the guy cooking was really nice thought. just remember to come earlier in the day if you want a variety and not leftovers.

Not bad for the price! I was craving a big lunch today and decided to try GK out. Only $6.85 per person during lunch! Pay an extra $2 and you can get all-you-can eat. The meal includes a mini bowl of rice, soup, and an egg roll. I already had plenty of noodles to eat so I barely even touched the rice. The soup was decent. Basically, a corn-starchy egg drop soup with some cabbage and tofu thrown in. The egg roll, on the other hand, was not good at all. My boyfriend bit into one and was not pleased. He said it was super bland and was just not good. I didn't want to ruin my appetite so I didn't bother with my egg roll. The Mongolian BBQ itself was good! Nothing extraordinary but good enough to please my hungry belly. Here's what their display included: Meats - turkey, chicken, pork, beef Veggies - bean sprouts, cabbage, spinach, onions, bell pepper, broccoli, cilantro, green onions, jalapeños Other - tofu, pineapple, mushrooms, peanuts Sauces - BBQ, house special, teriyaki, lobster, sweet&sour Extras - ginger, garlic, cooking wine, vegetable oil, sesame oil, bbq twist oil I really like how you can add your own amount of noodles. I'm told that at other Mongolian BBQ places, they give you set amount. I'm not too big of a fan of carbs so I rather load up my bowl with veggies and meat. In all, this place is a really cheap way to stuff your belly. I'll definitely come back. I really need to work on my strategy when it comes to piling everything into my bowl! :P

Came in for lunch today ($6.82). Lunch and dinner pricing are different. During lunch, you can only take one trip to the buffet-styled food counter. But during dinner, its all you can eat-- so you can take as many trips as you like. Also, only during lunch are you allowed to get a to-go box for your left overs. Every person have different preferences when it comes to food. This is a fun place to eat because you get to make your noodles bowls to you likings. Just beware, you are going to leave this place with smelly clothes. TIP-- Add your meats and vegetables first, then go back and pile on your noodles. That way, you won't have meats/vegetables towering up and falling out of your bowl.

Finally.... I get to eat here. Yes I am a '1st to Review Whore.' Not much really any longer. It gets too stressful. Being that I no longer work and refuse to leave the house and yelp all day long. Met my friend here for lunch today. The decor is very different from the other location in Venetian Bridges area. Plenty of parking. The food is pretty much the same. Draw backs: - only one line to prepare your dish. - table service wasn't worth twirling my panties in the air - the serving of rice was not sufficient - getting a refill was 'too little, too late' - asking for a lemon slice was apparently asking too much... I got a bit of attitude to go with it! Please keep in mind that I am basing those items on the other location. 3.5 stars.

Think I've only been here once or twice during my time in this town during college. I came here with a bunch of friends for dinner, and there really isn't much that I can remember from the back of my mind. Nothing really stood out to me. This place can leave you smelling after a meal in here. I'm not particularly a big fan of Mongolian BBQ, but I've had better at the malls. I'd only come back if I had nothing else to eat and was craving a big bowl of chow mein or something.

This place surprised me a little bit, although not very much. The price is decent for lunch and all they seem to have a wide variety of ingredients available for you. Plenty of sauces as well. I'm not that big of a noodle fan so perhaps this review is a little biased but I feel like just giving an OK review to a noodle place is good in my book. They give you rice (not like you need it), soup, and some pastry thingamajigger. It was aight. Service can be a little slow but that is ok. I understand they can be busy sometimes. Might come here again if my gf goes again. Other than that, I wouldn't just go get it to go or anything.

First time here today for dinner. It was all you can eat for $7.50 if I remember correctly or 7 something. A very small bowl of rice, soup, fried wonton strips and some peanut crackers were included with the dinner. The area where you pick out your meat, veggies and other items was clean. I was bummed that there was barely any beef and it was never refilled while I was there. The pork was good when the pieces of meat wasn't too fatty. I don't like to eat really oily foods so having half my noodles soaked with oil didn't make me very happy ._. Overall, I enjoyed my noodles when they weren't very oily and the soup was pretty good too. So if you like noodles, this is the place to go since it's all you can eat for dinner and it's not that expensive!

I LOVE the noodles here. My boyfriend hates me because I want to eat here all the time. The lines can get long around lunch time. They also give you a little bowl of rice, soup, and an eggroll.. all of which are super bland and I never touch. But, the noodles are delicious! I usually only go for lunch since I can never eat more than one bowl at dinner.

The first time I tried Mangolian was at Fire & Ice in Lake Tahoe. Man, that is good food and an exciting atmosphere! But who can drive 4 hours every time you have a mangolian craving? We (as in my family of 5) tried GK Mangolain and enjoyed it very much. Price is reasonably inexpensive for an all-you-can-eat. They offer several different kinds of meat including steak, chicken and pork (shrimp is extra), noodles, sprouts and veggies that you pile as high as you can in the generous bowl they provide. You then pour as much sauce (teryiaki, sweet & sour, garlic etc.) as you want on top of your bowl, hand it to the chef that is standing infont of this huge round skillet and watch as they use this huge stick to cook your food (about 4 minutes). I hesitate with the waiter service question because although it is a self serve, they do bring you drinks and clean up your table. They serve a small bowl of white rice and soup with your order and also some sort of bread cake that I think is a dessert but I never eat because I am always too full from the mangolian. Always busy, waitress always friendly and we usually spend less than $50 for 2 adult and 2 children buffets (my 1 year old eats for free).

This place is always busy every time we go especially during dinner time. Which means.. it has to be good. Or is it cause it's cheap and you get a lot? =/ I mean I'm not a big fan of Mongolian BBQ but my boyfriend loves it so we're here every once in a while. When it's busy don't expect the ONLY working waitress to fill your drink when it gets low. Well you know how it works... grab a bowl, pile it as high as you can with your fixing of meat, vegetables, and different flavoring you can add. Then you have a guy cooks it in front of you. Yummy yummy. And with every meal it comes with a small bowl of rice, egg drop/flour soup, and it looks like some fried won ton wrappers with sweet&sour sauce on it. I think? And when you're down with your bowl, go back and repeat. This place is okay to me, but I prefer Fire & Ice. They have a bigger selection but cost a bit more but totally worth it. Even though it closest one is in Lake Tahoe. Boo. 4 stars because this is the closest it gets to good Mongolian BBQ in the area =)

When I buy my first home, I'm totally going to renovate the kitchen to be fitted with one of those big ass griddles. Think of all the tasty food you could prepare on it. Fluffy pancakes, yolky fried eggs, salty SPAM,.. hrm I can't think of anything else right now but I'm pretty sure the possibilities are endless! In any case, what shouldn't be prepared on a griddle is Mongolian BBQ. Okay okay, I'm sure I'm gonna lose some fans with this, but I just don't like Mongolian BBQ. It's all novelty people! Think about it. You stand in line, prepare your own food and wait while some dude pushes it around with a long ass pair of chopsticks. Not to mention the clouds of smoke blowing in your face. And seriously, it all ends up tasting the same no matter what combo of meat, noodles, veggies and sauce you fill your bowl with. 3 Stars because Ghinggis Khan Mongolian BBQ is still decently priced, the buffet is kept clean and the service is alright. Lunch is limited to one bowl per person, but dinner is All You Can Eat. Meals include steamed rice, fried cheese wontons, and baotse bread, but drinks are an additional charge. Oh hey, I almost forgot one of my most favorite sandwiches. Grilled cheese with peppered bacon and Granny Smith apples sandwiches! Dude, don't knock it 'til you've tried it,.. and I'd SO be able to make that on my griddle. Hrm, and what else??

OK So I like coming here. Food is good. (it all kind of taste the same though) and there is plenty of it. I like how fast it can be. But one of my pet peeves is smelling like a place when you leave it, and boy do you smell like food when you leave. I only have one complaint (beside the funky smells on your clothes when you leave) is the amount of rice they give you. So there is like half a cup of steamed rice if that, and of course that is gone in like 2 mins. and they charge you $0.99 for every extra half cup of rice. Seriously GK BBQ?? GIVE US MORE RICE!!!

I love Love LOVE the Mongolian BBQ on Grand Canal. So when this new one opened, I was like "Great!" Because it's closer to my house then the Grand Canal one. So my husband and I go and visit. They had just opened and the service was VERY bad. Not only did I have to practically beg for a refill, I had to get up 2 times to get our biscuits. My husband said since they were busy and had just opened to cut them some slack and try it again another time. Which is what I did last week. So this time, service was a little better. But then they bring us our soup, our rice, and a spring roll (Spring roll...? Wth?? What happened to my biscuits!? Where are my wontons??) AFTER we had already sat down and started eating our food. I thought they were Appetizers? The line for the food wasn't clean. Everything was mixed in with everything else (Which I know happens, cause it's a "Free for all" I mean I've been guilty of dropping a pineapple chunk or two in with the broccoli...who hasn't?) But my husband almost slipped and fell on some tofu! Also, another thing: They have a GIANT tub of Jalapeno Peppers on the counter where the food is cooking, so someone can add them to a plate of food and be cooked on the grill....I know everyone likes what they like, but I don't like having my mouth burned off (Or dying b/c I'm allergic) or being given the "Side eye" when I ask them to please clean the grill cause I can't eat that! Bottom Line: I Love me some mongolian BBQ. Just not this one. I'll drive across town. I Want my biscuits.

The food is great. If you're gonna holla at that all you can eat, I don't recommend eating those side dishes they give you (soup rice and pastry). When making your plate, try to cool it a little with the sauce. This location lost a star due service. One night I was here it seemed the cook was doing all of the work. He was a great guy, but was frustrated with the employees that night for not working. A few of these employees were standing behind the the counter talking while he was busting his as. While eating, I was rarely approached by servers and had to request drinks several times. Poor guy, hopefully his coworkers step it up.

It's quick. Not a fan of the noodles. My lil' girl, who is 2, loved the soup w/ some rice added and bean sprouts. If I go again probably do only veggies n meat.

The food here is awesome! The sauces are a bit weak, but I can live with that! Lunch is limited to 1 bowl, and dinner is all you can eat. I tried lunch this time but I'll certainly go back for dinner another day. The spring rolls that came with the meal are awful. Soup was too salty, and rice was too mushy and not steamed well. Props for everything I paid for though. The BBQ portion I have no complaints about. I just have to season it a bit more heavily next time.

Do not use tofu in your noodles? I am thinking that it makes my noodles bland and flavorless, or its just everything that is just flavorless and I used the sauces! No flavor at all, it was horrible. I guess its just not great for vegetarians (i am one), they also have this thing called lobster sauce which was ewwy to me but the lady said every sauce was vegetarian (still didnt use it)..The mall Mongolian barbecue is 10x better which is pretty sad. The first time I came here a spider interrupted my dining experience, and being an arachnaphobe it was not pleasant, they didnt even seem to care either, i just left.

This place is just ok. Pretty standard all-you-can-eat mongolian BBQ. The place, although brand new, isn't super clean - mostly due to food and sauce spillage. The service is pretty good, but man alive someone needs to put a fire under the dudes that work the 'donut.' If 3 people are in line, expect a long wait. Most places in bigger cities are rocking 2 different piles of food with great dexterity. These guys seem content pushing their single pile of food with no urgency. But hey if you are in the mood - go for it, just pray that nobody else is there.

This place is in a newer strip mall and the dining area was clean and welcoming. They had tons of meat selections, but could cant say the same for the veggies. The veggie bar left me longing for more. Not to mention that the entire area was messy and had not been cleaned recently. The waitress was nice, but never came around to refill our drink cups. Overall, I've been to better--but this will do when I'm having a Mongolian craving.

Choose from a bunch of meats, veggies and sauces. The waitresses are friendly and in a nice area by shopping malls. They have some great sauces to add and then they cook it up in front of your eyes. Great value too! Men's bathroom kind of messy so we'll give it a 4 instead of 5. Everything tasted fresh and delicious.

I hadn't been to GK Mongolian BBQ in 3 years. Since it was Sunday and we had gone to church, we were hungry for lunch. By "we", I mean my husband and my ten year old daughter. It was pretty much new to my 10 year old since last time she went I really had to help her. This time she was excited to create her meal! Meat, noodles, "smash", add tons of veggies. How could it not be delicious, we created the meal! The cook was very friendly and made fun suggestions. I don't know why I waited so long to go back to this restaurant. We'll be back soon!

Good place to eat if you are really hungry and want something cheap. I really like how dinner is all-you-can eat even though I can barely finish 1 bowl haha. As for the noodle bowls, nothing can really go wrong since you would make the bowl yourself. As for the service, it's not as good as it should be. And they do need to give more rice & soup. Overall, this is a good place to go if you are hungry for dinner and craving noodles.

yummy make-it-yourself stir fry at reasonable price. if it doesn't taste good, you cant really complain cause you mixed it all up yourself. so the Mongolian BBQ of course is great. the fried wonton skins are so-so, the bean cookie thing kinda bland, and the egg drop soup tastes it was made with dishwater. so, avoid all that and just focus on the steaming stir fry dishes you can concoct with four different kinds of meat, noodles, and veggies. oh, its kinda fun to watch them turn your raw mixture into an edible stir fry dish. i swear, i think i could bring in anything and they can fry it up and make it taste good. next time I'm gonna tote over my lunch leftovers and see if they will stir fry that for me too...

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
