Out of the way. I've no idea how anyone would ever find this place if it wasn't for Yelp and GPS. Good beer selection. Nice pub food execution. Lots of mosquitos.

Love this place! It's a little more inland Sonora than downtown, but well worth it. Love the cod burger though not a fan of the spicy sauce they've begun adding too it. My husband always orders a special. Be sure to check their specials board when you walk in. Never know what they might have. Friendly staff and always have a sports game playing on a TV somewhere.

Off the beaten path that's for sure. I have never eaten here but the food always looks and smells amazing. Beer and Wine only...though I do not recall seeing any wine. It's a cute old building that looks like it was once a bank. They have a massive selection of local beers on tap and some "HouseBoatin" GoTo's (Coor's Light).Though I have never seen the place packed I'm hoping they have some excitement in the summer as they have a decent outdoor seating area and enough room to host a band or 3.

A good selection of craft beer and a menu with a good variety of foods. The building is a well restored historical structure, creating a fun place to enjoy a meal and beverages. The location for this bar and grill is in a less-populated country setting, adding to its charm.

Let's just say I was really glad that I paid for the meal with a gift card and not out of my pocket. My boyfriend and I went here and were pretty disappointed with everything but the fries with buttermilk parsley ranch. We started out with the hush puppies which were pretty dry and super bland. It was basically cheap cornbread. Then I got the chicken sandwich and my boyfriend a burger. Both were just alright. We finished with the cheesecake for dessert. We were lucky that they put a blueberry topping on it because without it was not good at all. For some reason the graham cracker crust was BITTER! The actual cheesecake itself lacked flavor. All of this cost $43, so if I hadn't had a gift card I would have been really upset about paying for this, but at least I know I won't be going there again with my own money. Also, we had a good server so that was nice. To me the food is either not good at all or just so-so, definitely not worth the price.

Excellent food and service. I like the burgers a lot . Don't pay extra for the kobe ones. The regular one tastes better . My mom got a turkey burger and she said it was good but patty was dry. The French fries and onion rings are good. The place is loud inside mostly on the weekends.

Our first visit, and not our last, Lord willing. Simple, clean decor. Great variety of craft beers. Wife and I both tried the Barrelhead IPA, suggested by our waitress. It was delicious! As was our food. Loved this place!

Friendly, fast service. The Greek salad was good, although not the typical Greek salad you would expect. Great lunch restaurant, very busy on a week day. Can recommend.

As you might know, the Standard Pour is related to Diamondback in Sonora although the it's focus is craft beer while Diamondback's is fine wine. Both restaurants clearly focus on outstanding ingredients that are artfully prepared. In other words, they are both foodie restaurants without the pretentiousness. The menu doesn't have that many items (recently expanded), but it's always been diverse enough that everyone in our groups have been happy. There always have daily specials to mix things up a bit. I personally like the salads, especially the Cobb. I think I've had everything with tuna or salmon and never been disappointed. If you want to go a less healthy direction, everything fried is good, especially the onion rings. My wife's favorite is the Roast Chicken Tacos with Lime Crema. If you can't make up your mind on beer, they have flights to you can try several (but let someone else drive). And, yes, they have wine and a full bar too. It's a couple of minutes off 108. If you're headed from Sonora to Twain Harte, it's on you way. Otherwise, it's a little off the beaten track. Either way, it's worth the trip.

The Standard Pour has a wonderful atmosphere, very friendly staff and quality food. There's a large selection of beers and wines with something for everyone. We love getting away for a mini date and visiting with the wait staff while we sip cold beer and eat yummy foods that have been creatively prepared. Most times we meet friends for "Taco Tuesday" which has become a regular social event in our small town!

This is my new favorite spot in the 209. They feature local wines (our favorites-La Folia, Jeff Runquist, etc) and some of the best beer made in the USofA (Cali, Oregon and Colorado). And the food. Oh my, it is unbelievable. From the tots to the steaks--these people know what they're doing in a kitchen (I'm salivating just thinking about it). We enjoy the ambience, the service and, again, the food and beverages are divine. The prices won't surprise you--make the trip to the Standard Pour. Trust me: you will have a great time.

Very friendly staff, basic menu but with some interesting twists, and great a drink selection. The first time I visited was on New Years Eve around 3:00, a group of 4 we were the only people in the restaurant and it was COLD. $3 prosecco, happy hour beer and sliders were a hit as was the spicy pumpkin soup. The appetizers were a let down though, rock shrimp were small and bland, cumin tater tots tasted over cooked or stale. But the service was good and the menu looked promising- Second visit was a Friday, around 5:30. The place filled up quickly bit our waitress was great. I got a HUGE glass of the house wine, worth the $7. I'm not usually in the mood for a burger or salad at dinner time and unfortunately that's the bulk of their menu, however, the cod sandwich was delicious and the slaw was spicy as promised. My husband loved his Cubano and the shoe string fries. Both definitely could have lasted 2 meals but we devoured everything, I believe the menu is priced correctly. The fried avocado appetizer was mediocre, it could have used a sweet element to balance the venom sauce, but fun and different none the less. If you go in without the expectation of a dinner entre, and are looking for a nice burger or sandwich you won't be dissapointed. Definitely stop in for a drink and sliders!

Came on a recommendation from the very nice woman at Indigney Reserve who poured our tastings, (didn't catch her name! I stink!!) Told her I am vegan, she directed us here. All in all, a really good place to grab lunch. Seems to be more than a few beer and drink options: husband went with Moose Drool, I stuck with my new favorite, Indigeny Apple Cider (even though we had JUST come from the Reserve and tasting... C'mon, you can only get the organic brew locally! I had to!) Started with the full order of onion rings... HUGE plate. Shoulda gone with half order, but birthday boy said full. Delicious, but didn't even eat half. (Wasteful. I'm ashamed.) Husband got the salmon burger with side salad, tomato vinaigrette. Burger was really good, salad was okay... reportedly, dressing was meh. Bland. I had a burger with a portabello mushroom instead of a patty, which was really tasty. I also got the side salad, with a peanut-based dressing... YUCK. Way too intense, just kinda gross. I wouldn't recommend it. Seems like it would probably be a fun place to do dinner, too... $2 taco Tuesday, $4 beer flight Wednesday, etc. VERDICT: The Standard Pour has vegan options and Indigeny on tap = I'm all in. Check it out!

This is a perfect place to grab some food and beers after a day of climbing at Jailhouse. Great atmosphere, good beer selection, and good food. They also have a few power outlets along the walls if you need to charge your phone (since usually we are camping nearby). :P

Outstanding beer selection and very cool atmosphere. I've had to order a lot of food here to fill up but have only been twice so far....more like appetizers than full dinners. However I've only been twice and plan to return. Employees were on it both visits.....

This place was fantastic! My wife and I ordered a few appetizers and then food. Great beer selection and great local wine selection. You could also get a flight of wine. Like any good tap house we sat at the bar and had great service and food arrived quickly. Off the beaten path but worth every dollar! Will be back soon!

Had dinner last night and was very pleased, got a kobe burger and garlic fries and fiance got kobe burger and sweet potato fries, we were both very happy and satisfied, the beer selection was great also I really enjoyed the Ballast Point

Under coworkers' recommendations, dropped by to this "nice sandwich place." Almost missed it because it does not look like a burger joint all. Exquisite. Looks like it has alot of history almost. High ceilings. Spacious. Where am I? The food is very much like Diamond Back (I heard it was the same boss?)...almost identical menu. Under my very enthusiastic waitress, I had her fave...the Reuben ..She told me she personally loved it with sourdough instead of rye.. but I'm not too big of a fan of sourdough so I had it with the rye. LOVED IT! Something I'd come back for. Overall, a burger joint with great ambience. Check out my pictures : )

WHY HAVE YOU BEEN HIDING FROM MY BELLY FOR SO LONG? Sorry, I lost my composure. A local business associate just showed me this place, and unless he told me about it, I never would have found it (the road leading to the building looks like it leads to nothing). My "cubano" sandwich was delish (mmmmm pulled pork), and I like the multiple fry options. I wanted to get the garlic fries, but I have more meetings today, so I "settled" for the sweet potato fries (still very good). Prices were very reasonable (~$11 for the sandwich & fries), and I always love historic buildings, especially when they have been as beautifully restored/repurposed as this one (previously a bank). This will be my go-to lunch spot whenever I am in town from now on.

I have had apps, tacos, pork dumplings, burgers, salads, soup, beer, wine, fries, and more here. Everything has been awesome! The service is great. They never lost track of me even when my group was the only one on the outdoor patio. Taco Tuesday is a great deal! Incredible selection of beers on tap, including my weakness, IPA's. They have some tv's and I almost dropped a star for that, because I think it detracts from a social meal. But they can be avoided, especially on the patio. My favorite for lunch and dinner in tuolumne county.

It's very good, but there is room for improvement... First off I can't believe it has taken me this long to try this place! I've lived in the area my whole life and never even realized it was here (it's kinda off the beaten path), also, it's in a beautiful historic building! Apparently the building was renovated in the late 90's, but it looks like it may be time for a bit of a freshen up, things are starting to look a little dingy. Maybe a good scrub is all it needs? We were there at a slow time, but the staff was all friendly and attentive . The menu items all sounded wonderful, but what we tried all looked better on paper than it really was, we did a sampling of the appetizers: The pork belly- Just a big hunk of pork belly with a little sweet/tangy sauce, taste was good, but if it was supposed to be an appetizer maybe slice it for easy sharing? And a small bed of greens would be nice. The kobe sliders- My favorite of the night, could have been a little more rare for my taste, but good sauce, and I loved the slice of cucumber! Some kind of grainy/fresh roll could have bumped it up a notch. Bacon and cheddar hushpuppies- Tasted more like green onion hushpuppies, which was a surprise considering green onions were not even listed as an ingredient. Definitely needed a stronger flavor of bacon and cheese. If the prices were a tad lower perhaps I would't even suggest these changes, but for the price point they do seem appropriate. Or, I guess they could just lower the prices... It absolutely has the potential to be a 4-5 star place with just a few improvements to the building and food!

I cannot say enough about this wonderful restaurant! First off everything on the menu I have had so far has been divine! Wonderful soups and burgers, the turkey reuben, to die for! The steak salad, sublime! The architecture of the building and the atmosphere is wonderful. The serine community of Standard provides a wonderful backdrop. There's always a lively group enjoying themselves and they provide a full bar.

Went to dinner there the other night. Haven't been in years but friends invited us and said they had went there not to long ago and were very impressed with the salmon special. I had the salmon special and it was very tasty. Was topped with a like sauce, laid on top of potatoes and sautéed breaded sprouts very good my husband was impressed with his burgers as well. Will go back for sure

Best of the Mother Lode! Kudos to the Standard Pour kitchen, wait staff and owners for a job uniquely well done. I spend half the year in the area, so I've tried every restaurant several times a year over the course of 15 years. My husband is an Executive Chef, so the Standard Pour is my Go To when he isn't cooking. The food is innovative, well prepared and has a terrific pairing suggested with each item. I usually default to one of the daily specials, so I can't recommend specific menu items, other than to say, no matter what was ordered, everyone at the table loved the food. But if they have smoked salmon, an ahi special, duck taco or a wedge salad special - don't miss them. There is a long list of artisan and craft beers and some outstanding wine offerings, in addition to some well done cocktails. I can't believe I can order a Newsom Harlow wine by the glass at such a reasonable price. And they even offer several Prosecos, pretty unique in this area. They have a patio that is dog friendly. A happy hour. A big space that certainly will accommodate large parties - and private event rooms to go along with outstanding food and libations.

Fun environment the restaurant is located in the an old office of a lumber company with a large bar with many beers on tap. Juicy burgers & sandwiches.Everything was tasty including the sweet potato fries.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Especially "the girls" Meg, Trisha and Sarah!!! Love taco night. The sliders were good until they changed the bun. Prices are a little steep for the little town of Sonora, but we still go there and always have a great time!

I've been here a few times, nothing exciting at all. The food is often prepared wrong, and I have found hair in my fries more than once. There is a lot of potential here, but the staff really needs to learn how to clean.

  • Fenny K.

Tried something different today. Pork ramen was ok, the flavor is very Americanize. Pork was tender but had no flavor. Mushroom was sweet and a little tangy which I really like Roasted tomato dressing was in need of seasoning. Buttermilk dressing was not thick and creamy.

I still go to Standard Pour often and still love the place. The current wait staff are much friendlier and professional now, which makes it a more attractive option than before. It's busier now that it used to be but the food quality and staff service are still top notch, perhaps even better than before. Menu is still great and their specials are often unique and appetizing. We often make a point of going there for Taco Tuesday, which are fantastic as most of the time the tacos are delicious, fresh, and not overly-fried. Beer selection is by far the best in the county, from draft to bottle, with excellent pricing. Few nitpicks (if the manager ever looks at these reviews): * still no grass-fed burger option (though the Diestel turkey options are fantastic). I don't mind the mark-up! * something should be done with the huge waste of space where the pool table used to be; nobody played because the door is behind the bar! Opening it up with more high top seating or live entertainment (Ricci's great idea) would be awesome. * outdoor seating is a total afterthought. It's a decent space but neglected and when I've sat back there it was easy for the waitress to forget us. It could be great, if only that banquet room were removed - how many do you need?. I could easily see that space completely opened up where it flows out to the patio and another little bar put in serving wine and a few cocktails, better outdoor furniture, clean up the trellis, heaters for cooler nights, and bring the TV entertainment closer as well. Outdoor seating, if done right, is where everyone prefers to be here in California!

Chef poorly executed my lunch and the waitstaff needed training. I wouldn't return for food.

Undercooked and pink chicken in the chicken cesear salad!! The chef and the manager need to make sure the chicken fillets are not frozen when they're put on the grill, or turn the grill down and put a couple more minutes into your dishes. It's time to give your cook staff some basic health code training. A large portion of the chicken supply is contaminated with Salmonella which is why the health department requires all poultry items be cooked through. This is a case of food poisoning waiting to happen!!

Great place to eat and great beer selection! The food is amazing as well as the beer selection. We have never had bad service, food, or beer! I love the turkey Ruben on the sourdough bread!

The Standard Pour hit the mark in a variety of ways. Love the ambiance. Wide open and spacious. Beautiful hardwood floors, Great bar. Good beer selection. They only serve beer and wine and that's okay by me. Loved the minimal decor -- clean and simple but classic in its own way housed in the old Standard Lumber Co building. Staff was incredibly friendly. Helpful with recommendations of what to drink and eat -- well informed. We were a party of 10 holding a business meeting in private dining area. On a Saturday night the place was full -- a kid-friendly too. Anyway, our server -- Amanda -- was right on target. We ordered everything from that night's special pulled-pork sandwich and grilled salmon with polenta to Standard burger, steaks, and Diestel turkey sandwich. Also orders of garlic fries did not disappoint -- plenty of garlic. A round of desserts including cherry tart with vanilla ice cream, dense chocolate cake and...well, I'm too full to think. Portions are enormous. You might want to share. Prices very reasonable. Check out the herb garden out back. Yes, I would most definitely eat here again. In the heart of Tuolumne County and the gateway to Yosemite National Park. What more do you need to know?

Our food took a while to reach the table - granted, it was busy, and we were with a group of 12. This is one of the only places in Sonora that offers private group rooms for parties & families, & there are also TVs in the main room. The food is seriously on point, all the time. Just as good as the sister restaurant, Diamondback. Amazing. You really can't find good food like this anywhere else in Sonora.

Beautiful building, might have been a bank at one time. Great beer selection and since I'm a cider drinker, there were four options for me to choose from. We had great appetizers: $2 tacos (hey, it was Tuesday!) They were pulled pork and very tasty. We also had the bacon hush puppies with maple cream. Very good. I had the pulled pork sandwich with hoisin BBQ sauce and a salad. My husband had the turkey reuben sandwich with garlic fries. Both were great and we were bummed that it's so far from home.

  • Ricci S.

I LOVE this place! It's my go-to when my husband and I are trying to figure out where to eat. I always order the standard grilled cheese, and it is SO good. With pesto and bacon, you just can't go wrong. My husband always has the Kobe beef sliders, and they're to die for! I love the siracha mayo. Delicious. Crazy beer selection, super nice staff, quick service, what more could you ask for? The only reason I give it four stars instead of five is because I really wish they would utilize the space the have for live entertainment. It's an amazing building, and I would definitely go to any live show there. Love the place!

Another cool place in Sonora a few miles from downtown but a street away from our hotel. The coworkers and I were able to get a table pretty quickly on a wednesday night. The restaurant is huge because of the very high ceilings. I wonder what the building was used for previously. That day I was able to order a flight, or three 4 oz glasses of beers for a total of $4 when I order an entrée or something. I ordered a moose drool, apricot ale, and breakfast stout. The breakfast tasted exactly like black coffee, which was a little too much for me. For some reason the moose drool tasted a bit watered down, or maybe I like it a lot richer. The stout was probably the best of the 3. The apricot ale was very light and not sweet. I heard the Indigeny apple cider was good but very sweet. I ordered the salmon salad, which was delicious with their special dressing; however the salmon it self was a bit too salty for me. But I know I'm sensitive to salty foods! The other foods looked pretty good.

I just had to write to give this place some current love. I'm in Sonora every three months and find dinner options extremely lacking on the outskirts of town. I went by tonight and found myself in the bar with excellent service and friendly local company. I worked on my laptop with free wireless connection and ate a fabulous meal. Chicken burger minus onions add mushrooms. Sweet potato fries and a Caesar Salad. All of it full of flavor and fresh. Yes - the most impressed I've been in two years of trying to eat in this town. From the valley where we have way more options and I appreciated the cute ambiance and good easy food. I will never go anywhere else and they have created one loyal fan tonight.

Their "Standard burger" was really good. I ordered it medium rare and was happy they would make it for me that way. The chicken confit was so so, a little sweet, won't get it again. Service was very good. They have a large board when you walk in with interesting specials on it !

  • K D.

Great atmosphere, and good selection of craft beers. Menu is a bit sparse, but what you would expect from a pub type fare and the appetizer selection could be better than french fries, onion rings, and a few other fried options.... however for Sonora, with limited dining options, this, and its sister restaurant "The Diamondback," is one of the best.

Well, we ate here again for lunch and we were definitely satisfied. Our waitress was fantastic!! When she brought out the food and she noticed my son's plate looked too greasy, she had the cooks remake it. She answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable of the menu. Our fries were cooked to perfection (first time they were way overdone). Overall, I'm so glad we tried this place again because the food was fantastic. A new family favorite!!

VERY impressed! Came here on the recommendation of one of the locals. Beautiful historic building. Our waitress/bartender was so sweet and prompt. The chicken salad was fantastic. My husband said his fish and chips were so fresh and tasty. We will definitely be back!

The food is good, but service is always slow. If you aren't in a rush and have time to spare to eat and enjoy some drinks then go for it, but if you're on a time constraint then go with a different option.

  • Kelley J.

I've lived in this area all of my life and when a new restaurant comes around we always try it out. Amazing is how I would describe this one! The food is so good, everything we ordered ( we've been twice ) has been way above my expectations, the Kobe beef burger was delicious and cooked to perfection, their take on a Reuben was delicious and creative, and I love that they support other local businesses by sourcing some of their ingredients from other locals. The prices are what amazed me the most, for the amount and quality of the food you get, you can't find a better deal in this county! I will return as often as possible and recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting our area! Don't forget to try the garlic fries and the chocolate cake, wow.

By far the best burger in Sonora! Atmosphere = awesome! (Historic architecture with an updated feel) Food = excellent Beer = excellent Staff = excellent Absolutely no complaints about the Standard Pour. If you've been disappointed by the Snowshoe or Lumberyard before, please give the SP another chance. You will not be disappointed!

We didn't care for this restaurant when it first opened, but it has improved dramatically over time. We went with a large party last week and everybody enjoyed their food. My tri-tip sandwich and fries were perfect. Our server was nice, but the food did come out pretty slowly. That's the only reason this is a four-star review and not a five.

  • Kd E.

Really good food! I had a salmon salad. My only complaint is that the salad is very small and not very filling for $10. Quality food, and it's presented really nice! Cute location. I will definitely return on my next trip!!

  • Chris N.

Overpriced, mediocre, bad service. I have tried this establishment twice, and both times I've been disappointed. I was hoping that on my second visit I would find the service and food to be better, but it was not to be. For the prices they charge, their food and service should be better.

Another Diamondback fan- and beer nerd.. Took the family there on "pint night" (first Saturday of the month). The service was excellent!! (Vanessa was our server), the food menu small, but creative. We found the food prices to be very reasonable. Had a great pulled pork sandwich. My wife's sandwich was also good, but the side salad was wilted- a problem we've experienced at Diamondback as well. It must be a drag when the big bag of mixed greens starts to go slimy, but c'mon.. Don't serve it! The draft beer menu is large and pricey, skewed toward the ales, with some variety. Granted, they are serving 20oz pints, but $7-8 a glass is not going to draw me in for a brew after work with any regularity.. . Which is too bad- the beer selection is what I always wanted at Diamondback. Lastly, wish there was a location in the building away from the big TVs on all the walls- the kids became mesmerized. The building has a nice feel to it, and the management has done well with the paint colors, etc., to create a warm atmosphere. Expect it to be somewhat noisy though, due to the tall ceilings and old wood floors.

    (4)
  • Casey E.

To be fair, I have eaten here at least 5-6 times since it has opened. Each time hoping I would be impressed. Each time I was disappointed. The building has so much potential! I wish they would stay open later and have more late night bands/entertainment because the old bank set-up is awesome and I do appreciate the beer selection. That being said, the food it underwhelming at best. Each time I have tried something else, salads to ramen specials to salmon burgers to grilled cheese and sandwiches. As I ate it, I realized I could have made the same dish much better with much more flavor and fresh ingredients myself at home. The last straw was when they served my husband a sandwich with bread that had to be 5 days old it was so hard. Good food starts with fresh ingredients and after that we will not be back.

***1/2 Full disclosure, this is actually a 3.5 star review. We had been to Diamondback several times, love it, and were looking forward to enjoying a nice meal away from the crowds of downtown Sonora. We came here on Saturday night with 4 adults and 2 toddlers. The place was relatively busy, but we were still seated right away. My first look at the menu and I was pleased. It is a simple menu, mostly burgers, sandwiches, and salads (you're big boys and girls though so I'm sure you know how to click the link above and check it out for yourselves). My brother-in-law said they had great burgers, so I obliged and ordered the Kobe burger. I also ordered a 20-oz. "Hops of Wrath". I was impressed by their beer list; had some great micro's on tap including a few that were new to me. They have a tasters flight, which allows you to try several small pours, but tonight I wanted a pint (or a 20-ouncer whatever). My beer was the highlight of my meal. My burger came out and was a little rarer than the medium I ordered, but to be honest if you're going to err, err on the side or rare. I got a side salad instead of fries. That may have been a mistake because my bro-in-law's garlic fries looked awesome and my salad was just okay. Anyway, my burger came with melted Pt. Reyes Blue cheese and homemade pesto. This sounded way better than it actually was. I love pesto and love blue cheese, but apparently not together. The blue cheese was sooooo strong. It over-powered everything; the pesto, the burger, the fixin's (including the onion), the bun, and even my beer! :( I was hungry and ended up eating the whole thing, but I was still tasting it hours later. So, obviously the burger was not stellar, but I'm willing to forgive them. I know what it's all about so I just won't get it next time since I obviously can't handle strong blue cheese. But the restaurant had a lot more to offer. It was classy, clean and spacious. It is really a pretty unique building. The wait staff was very friendly, the service was good, and there was plenty of floor space for our kids to run around. My sister-in-law thought the girls were getting looks from the hostess, but I think she was just amazed at how adorable they were running around and laughing. The place was loud enough that I didn't feel anyone was disturbed...and I try to be very aware of these types of things because I used to give other parents the stink eye when their kids were annoying me while I was eating out. I would definitely eat here again. If it was closer to my house I would probably eat here frequently. The beer specials seemed fun, and I think the other menu items deserve my consideration. When I do manage to find my way back, I will update my review. Next time I'm going with the pulled pork sandwich or chicken tacos!

I want to take the best of both DBG and Standard to merge....really. Love the beer selections at Standard, wish they were over at DBG with the better menu. Love the intimacy of DBG and wish it was over at Standard. You can customize almost everything on the menu at Standard, except for getting a 1/2 & 1/2 (half salad, half fries) like you can at DBG...which doesn't make any sense. Please for the love of everything holy, Eric...PLEASE don't put a pool table in...Standard is already loud enough.

I can't imagine there's a better place to eat in Tuolumne county. The garlic fries are - without a doubt - the most garlic'ey thing I've had in my life, eclipsing Safeco Field's legendary gralic-fries for that title. The mac & cheese is worth the inevitable triple-bypass. The beer-battered onion-rings are something like the platonic ideal of onion rings. My spicy Indian eggplant sandwich was a bit spicy for my tastes - but that's a me problem, not a restaurant problem. I mean, it says "spicy" right there in the name. And the flavors were excellent. My wife's peanut-sesame noodle salad was excellent. And once our 2-year-old had finished with his macaroni, his parents happily ate the remaining 3/4ths. I thought it was silly that so many other reviews started out commenting on the service - but it really was outstanding. If you're anywhere close to the Standard Pour - you owe it to yourself to come here.

After eating at the Standard Pour quite a few times, I have come to the conclusion that they need a new cook. I always order my burgers Med. Well and they always come med to med rare. Always undercooked. Send it back and you get a burned burger. Not very professional. I have politely complained but to no avail, burgers still way under cooked as of today! It will be a long time, if ever, that I return to this establishment, maybe after it sells and new owners take over.

We (wife and 4 yr old) visited on Dec 14. We were seated with smile. Then no one came to our table for 25 minutes. No one told us the specials. We had to get up out of our chairs to go and read them for ourselves. We had to flag down someone and ask them to take our order. The woman said our waitress was busy. She took our order. Then we did not get our food forever. And most was cold. The taste was good for cold food. Very disappointing. Not going back.

Kobe blue cheese burger was top notch. It was as good as the counter in San Jose at Santana Row. Very busy. Portions were good size and they had craft beer flights. Family and Christmas parties. Many young couples with small kids. We're on our way to It's a Wonderful Life with Sierra Rep theater in Sonora. No problem to get out in time.

I've eaten here several times since they opened over a year ago but when i ate here recently it was the first time I had the Kobe Beef Sliders. Where have these little wonders been all my life ! Just yummy deliciousness! You gotta try them. Love this place

I love this place! My husband and I think this is one of the best values in dining. Great food, great service, and really reasonable prices. The portions are so large, we always take home left-overs for our next meal. We don't live in the area, but when we come to town, we make a point of going to The Standard Pour. You will love it!

As a HUGE fan of the Diamondback Grill, I had to try this place out. It's a bit out in the middle of nowhere, even for Sonora (or Standard), and is really the only place in the area, but a good location if the economy recovers and the rest of Standard fills out a bit more. I went on a Tuesday evening, and the crowd was at about 25% capacity in the early evening. The setting is basic, but nice. There is a large entry area, with several tables throughout the restaurant, and a decent-sized bar area. The design is simple, but I would imagine it will fill out as the restaurant progresses, similar to how the Diamondback was back before it moved to the larger location across the street from where it is now. The bar has several flat screen televisions with sports showing, which is perfect for any bar setting. The menu is simple, which is also good for an upstart place that is basically surviving and possibly growing thanks to the reputation of it's sister establishment and word-of-mouth. The menu consists of bar food with a much higher complexity than one would normally think. Some choices are similar or taken from items on the Diamondback menu, but all are very original and detailed. The prices are a bit high (which is somewhat normal for a new establishment), and I hope they come down a few dollars as the restaurant progresses, as it could possibly scare off the casual diner. I believe the range even for appetizers starts at $6 and the menu goes up to about $20 for select entrees and specials. Their twist on Mac 'n cheese is nice, but for $9 seems a bit high for an appetizer-sized pasta dish. I had the Satay Beef with Thai peanut sauce, which was $8, again it was delicious, but a bit high for five small chicken skewers. I would imagine these prices could be subject to change in the future, but maybe not. Even if they were $1-$2 less it would seem easier to swallow (no pun intended). While the beer and wine list is fairly extensive, this is another area where the prices are on the high side. $7-$10 for a 20 oz beer or a glass of wine is a bit much, and is also another area where even a $1-$2 reduction would make someone a lot more likely to order a drink in the first place, or even order another one. For now, I would definitely stick to going to the Diamondback Grill, but with a few tweaks, I could see making repeat trips back to this place. But it's a very good start for a new business in a community that seems to be losing so many, or where a good place to eat tends to be few and far between.

Three of us had a lovely lunch here. The server was delightful. I had the chicken pesto pasta special and the chicken was tender. My husband has the pulled pork citrus sandwich and the meat was tender and flavorful. Dad had a salad and enjoyed it. My husband also liked the fact that you can order a 4 oz beer for $2. It's a nice way to try new beers. The atmosphere is light and airy. We will definitely come back again.

Terrific place with very good fare and great beers. Our service was 1st rate and friendly. We only had lunch but really loved the Spicy Eggplant sandwich and the Diestel Smoked Turkey Rueben - you couldn't go wrong with either choice. If you are watching sports there are plenty of TVs though you should not expect to hear the announcers over the drone of this working restaurant. We felt the place was a winner and will be back.

I have had nothing but a positive experience at the Standard Pour. I live locally and I have a large family. I found that the servings were large enough that I can divide them in half and serve one plate to two children and I can rarely finish my own plate. The service is excellent. As a matter of fact last time I was there the waitress knew I would be dividing plates and she brought extra plates and cutting knives so I could cut them up. AND she did everything with a genuine smile. The beer selection is excellent. Two of my sons LOVE the wild boar sandwich. Out of the many restaurants in Sonora I chose the Standard Pour for an upcoming event because I know it will be a great time.

I'm no vegetarian but........the Spicy Indian Eggplant Sandwich with Jalapeno, Cilantro, Ginger and Peanut Spread, Cumin Yogurt Raita, and Pickled Cucumber is fantastic. The service has been great everytime I have been here. There is nothing Standard about this place, it's great!

Very friendly and helpful staff, Nice atmosphere but the food is unimpressive. Have been there twice and both times, food was disappointing. I had a roast beef sandwich that was a special last time and it was so full of grizzle I had a hard time just taking a bite. May try again but it will be because of the atmosphere.

Heartbreak :( I am a Diamondback lover and was expecting excellent tasting food at the Pour, but maybe with a bit of a change from the downtown locale. To my dismay, however, many of the menu items at the Pour were almost exact replicas of the Diamondback. I ordered the Turkey Burger, probably not the best item to measure them on, but honestly, it was a weak presentation and delivery. The turkey was soggy, the bun was dry and our waitress was slow. If this was my only trip to this area, I wouldn't be impressed with Sonora's culinary offerings, but I have to give it one more shot. I'll probably try the Mac&Cheese since so many have raved about it and I'll report back. Also, on a side note, this place is LOUD LOUD LOUD so if you're bringing a baby or looking for a cozy date spot, think again -- I recommend some acoustic tiles -- seriously.

This place was recommended by a friend, so we tried it out during lunch. Was pleasantly surprised with the food, service , and beer list. The wait staff were very attentive, yet not annoying or overbearing. I wouldn't hesitate to hire them myself! The building is noisy...kind of echoey, so I'm going to subtract from a perfect rating just a little because of the accoustics. Other than that, NO complaints at all! Would recommend the place as well. The food was fantastic. The whole place super clean. And the 4 oz sampler beers are a nice touch.

Pretentious, retired, flat-landers will love it here but if you actually live and work in the Sonora area, my advise is to skip it. The food is incredibly overpriced ($6 for 4 small pieces of garlic bread), my husband was served a cold pulled pork sandwich and I did not enjoy my flat beer. Oh, and this is no place for families unless you like $9 Mac n cheese that you get to feed to the dog when you get home. For these prices, they could at least make thier own fries.

Great concept, good staff, noisy, small portions and paying for a $7:00 for a glass of wine our glasses were half empty when served.

We love this place. Fantastic location. Great service. Unique Menu. My husband had the Standard Burger and I had the Spicy Eggplant. He thought his meal was perfect with lots of flavor. I too like my dish, but I do have one complaint about it. The bread used on the sandwich is all wrong. You don't get all the flavors, because the bread is to thick and dry. I simply took the top off and it was perfect. I ate the the top of the bun separately by dipping in their house dressing and it was delicious.

I had a pork belly confit ramen that was good. I'm giving them an extra point for having pork belly confit anywhere near Sonora. My husband had a bleu cheese burger. He said it was a good burger. The beer and wine are very expensive. Good beer. The staff was very nice. I would eat here again. Love that I have a restaurant closer to Tuolumne!

This is a great place. It is the same owners as Diamond Grill in Sonora. The place was crowded and everyone seemed to have a good time. I had the skirt steak, fried & salad. My friends had the taco's and a deluxe hamburger. We all enjoyed the meal. The wait staff was young, well trained and great. Cost was $45 plus tip... This is not a place to get a cheap meal. It is a moderately priced great meal. The place wad full of local folks. Flat-lander and local will enjoy.

We first went to the standard pour right after they first opened, and I will agree with some here - the prices for beer were too high. Thankfully that problem has been solved, and they have refined their menu quite a bit, so some of the early reviews while fair at the time may not apply now. The prices have come down and it is now very reasonable. I was sad to see a few of the great appetizers go with the changes. Still the food is great,. the standard grilled cheese is awesome, and the Kobe sliders are great. I also love the simple yet tasty goat cheese salad ( my personal favorite). They routinely have very good specials. I have had a few misses. The portobella mushroom sandwich was ho hum, but for the most part I have loved everything in the place, and it is on e of my favorite places to take out of town guests. The staff is friendly and unpretentious. I definitely recommend the Standard pour. Along with The Diamond Back grill, and Tallulahs, it is one of our go to restaurants.

I like the Pour. Food is good, quite creative at times, good beer selection, friendly staff. Ambiance is a little sterile, though, could do with some softer surfaces to break up the cafeteria-like feel. Also don't care for the sports bar TV's, but that's just me.

This was a huge disappointment. They also run the Diamond Back Grill, which is excellent. Service is terribly slow, food is served cold, flavors are not appealing.

This is the latest venture for Eric who owns the Diamondback Cafe in downtown Sonora, and that brings high expectations. It is odd that the menu is so limited, considering that the Diamondback has a more adventurous menu and it is a much smaller place. Maybe it is temporary, and he will add more choices as time goes on and he is confident the staff can pull it off. We were pleased with our orders, my wife ordered the macaroni and cheese, and I got chicken tacos. The chicken tacos came with fries, which was kind of wierd but good. My wife commented to the waitress that she would have liked to get some sort of greens or vegetables with the mac and cheese carbo load. The atmosphere of the building is nice, the building was originally the offices of the Pickering Lumber Company and has character. What it lacks is any kind of noise buffering, and the place is too loud (a characteristic that it shares with the Diamondback, by the way). Will we go back, yes, but our first visit was not overwhelmingly great so we will probably wait awhile.
