The Sandwich Spot is right next to my school so I've been a few times when I'm in the mood for a sandwich (which isn't often because I'm not a sandwich person). The sandwiches here are pretty bomb though! I always get the roast beef bomb. Roast beef and cream cheese. LOVE! It also comes with their bomb sauce which contains garlic in it somehow. I'm not a huge garlic fan but their bomb sauce has such a good flavor I always get it on my sandwich. You have the option to not have it on there. It can make your sandwich soggy which sucks because I don't always finish my sandwich which brings me to another point, the size of their sandwiches. They're a decent length...maybe 8 inches but they back the sandwiches with a good amount of produce and meat (if you get meat) so what they lack in length they make up for in girth LOL. They're really fast making your sandwiches but this place is so popular (with good reason) so you could be in line for some time. They have meal deals which are nice. For their meal deal A you'll get your sandwich, a bag of chips, and a can of soda for $10.42. It's a bit pricy but their sandwiches are very very good.

Sweet baby Jesus! These sandwiches are good. I tried their cube deluxe sandwich (avo, turkey, prosciutto, and Swiss cheese) on their Dutch crunch bread! The sandwich was very good! Fresh ingredients and the spread they used added great some flavor. I ate the whole sandwich, I couldn't let it go to waste ! For just a sandwich spot, I was impressed! The interior is just like any other deli; small tables lining the side of the walls and refreshments, chips, and cookies beside the cashier counter.

Don't be fooled by my four star review of this place, because their sandwiches are consistently A+ like so BOMB and they've never messed up my order... I don't know why people have trouble with that here, (maybe because I always call mine in instead of waiting in line)... and I come here 3+ times a week on my lunch break/walk. Let me just say I'VE NEVER BEEN DISAPPOINTED. I am a vegetarian so maybe you'd think it's weird I hit up a sub place all the time BUT YOU'RE WRONG, haha. Because they have a delicious garden patch sandwich for 7 bucks which is so good for you, and always leaves me feeling great after eating it. It has cucumber, a good serving of cheese, condiments, garlic sauce, pickles, lettuce, onion, avocado, tomato, and some other misc. veggies. I cannot get enough of this. I also get the cheese sandwich when I want more protein and it comes with the same veggies except for cucumber and avocado... So it's basically the same but 2 dollars cheaper.... If you're a vegetarian like me, you can't go wrong. Now... the reason I left one star off and didn't give it five: this place doesn't look that clean behind the counter... It's just like, why do you guys have your hair down while you're making my sammie...? It's just unprofessional and looks undesirable to see sandwich-makers hair all over the place. Also the people working there are just blah, not rude or offensive just kind of trudging away. (But I used to work at Chipotle so I get how annoying it is to have orders thrown at you all the time. NBD) Additionally, they just have the kitchen's garbage in plain view of the counter, so the workers can throw things away (i.e. avocado skin) efficiently. And I get that, but don't put it where I can see it... IDK if it's just me but that kinda grosses me out. I also only gave this place 4/5 stars because of the disorganized nature of ordering (this is why I call mine in/pick it up). The lines are in no particular order and you just kind of have to wait until someone gets to the register/asks what you need. Even when I order mine in advance, and they have it ready, I still have to swim through an ocean of people who are waiting... It's just cluttered and again makes the place look messy and unprofessional. But I always order here for my office anyway since they do platters and delivery. They also take checks and the blonde owner lady is very sweet! So nice. Overall, I love the food, hate the physical/professional experience of stepping inside. I just PRAY that I never find a hair in my sammie. But it hasn't happened yet, so we're good. LOL.

The bomb sauce is very well named. I daresay, the bomb. Also the secret garlic sauce... Different and delicious. We're staying at the hotel next door which I was relieved to see a Togo nearby as having not consumed food since early this morning... Upon yelping seeing this place across the parking lot, why would you go anywhere else if you're in the neighborhood? The bf ordered the Vegetarian Thai Breaker and it was remarkably unique. I ordered the garden patch with bacon added and would say without the sauces (added the bomb to the garlic) it'd be just a sandwich. Kudos again to their sauces setting these apart as memorable and delicious. - The food truly deserves a four star. Go for the food and know in advance the cumulative reviews about the lack of caring service is rather accurate.

Walked in expecting rude service and a crappy sandwich, all of the reviews say that... I was greeted with a smiling face, talked to in a kind, professional way. Then my sandwich was good, nothing to write home about, but good. Way better than TOGOs or Subway across the street. And they have these chips, the Kettle Pepperoncini Chips. That was cool, never seen those before, those were good too! I'll be back!

I love the hot sandwiches here. Today I came with my bf and we both had a different sandwich to share. I got the Phoenix with the bomb sauce added because it is BOMB.com ! Ever since I had the sauce on the Mikey likes it sandwich, I decided that jalapeno ranch can go on every sandwich I order.. Originally, the Phoenix only has a cranberry sauce but with the bomb sauce, it was so much juicier and rich in flavors. I enjoyed my half salad with its simplicity of a basic salad with olives, tomatoes, cucumber, and banana peppers. I would love to give them a 5 stars base on the sandwich and service here, but frankly the price is a little too steep for sandwiches which is the only factor for the 1 star knock down.

I had the veggie patch sandwich here, and it was GREAT!! Everything was fresh, lots of flavor, made exactly the way I asked, and the chicks working were suuuuuper friendly! This is a cool little sandwich shop in a really convenient location.. I just grabbed my sandwich so I could eat it in traffic! The drinks & chips were also pretty cheap & good too.. They have peace tea & chips that don't have tons of preservatives in them.

Great choices and I like the crunchy bread. Nice staff and the location is clean. They have an original take on sandwiches and that is something to be appreciated. Kinda on the pricey side, but what place in Sac isn't? The BOMB sauce is quite tasty and I like to have it instead of mayo, which says a lot. This place is hidden in a strip mall and traffic seems steady. The staff is accommodating and seem to work well together. They have great suggestions and I was able to choose a sandwich that I liked a lot. My co-worker gets the chicken and says it is wonderful. They are clean in their technique and wear gloves to fix everything. Great spot.

Great looking sandwiches but slow and messy. Worker not using gloves to scoop cream cheese off the knife back into the bowl

So so yummy!! Got the number two (turkey) and it was fabulous. Will definitely be going back again soon!

Vegetable Thai Breaker is fantastic. Includes large pieces of pineapple and sweet sauce. Super good!

Omg!!!! So bomb. Went here for lunch and got the Ham turkey roast beef with cheese ... Amazing ... Best sandwich ever I will be returning!

  • Ben D.

I came here for lunch. I did not know what I wanted. I ask the girl over the counter what was popular and good. She recommended the night hawk which has marinated chicken, bacon, avocado, and I pick pepper jack cheese with everything on wheat bread. It was very good.

Great subs, staff was pretty friendly. I don't have a lot to say because it was just eh. I really love their subs, they are so great but the establishment leaves much to desire and the staff was just eh.... not rude or mean or anything but they also weren't energetic or excited to be there.. it seemed... could have just been a bad day.. I'll be back because the subs are so great but not enough to make me go back regularly....

I walked in, it was pretty busy, but the atmosphere was like a morgue. Ever see that that episode of Seinfeld with the Soup Nazi? This pretty sums up my experience here. NOBODY said a word, not even the workers. Nobody lifts there head to acknowledge your waiting in line, but when they do, expect an eye roll and a heavy sigh and an attitude while trying to give your order to the sandwich maker behind the counter. Nobody really smiles here either. It must be hell working there. Everyone looks so miserable. I had two workers actually contemplate in front of me whether to help me or not...Not cool and very unprofessional. The common theme when you read some of these reviews is that the customer service lacks. When I looked in the tip jar I saw NO tips in it...imagine that...you treat customers like crap you wont get a dime of thanks. I'll gladly take my business to the one in Midtown over this location any day, they seem much more happier, energetic and way more polite! This Sandwich Spot location should retrain it's staff in customer service skills.

Not sp gpod first time experience. Server didnt walk me through the selection. I hate olives but they were in my sandwich. Sandwhich was actually pretty good. I got the turkey sandwhich on wheat. I am just sad they assume we all know their routjne! Cmon its not Subway or Togos!

My company orders from this place all the time but I've recently converted them over the Signature Cafe. I just don't think that the quality of their food is all that great. They charge $8-10 for a simple sandwich and when you order more than 5 sandwiches they are bound to mess up on the orders. My fiance and I walked in her about a week ago because I told him that they were pretty decent. When we got home he opened his $9 dollar sandwich and was said with the end result. We recently discovered signature cafe and believe that the quality is much better over there. Not to mention you get more bang for your buck and the people are much more welcoming. Which is alarming because it's not a small "Sandwich Spot" like this place. However, the people seemed super stressed out and annoyed. All in all, I have experienced better and hope not to return. Sorry Sandwich spot but coming from a sandwich making and eating queen? Your sandwiches just didn't cut it for me anymore. Too expensive, sloppy and are always out of bread :) I can find better.

I've eaten at the Roseville location and their food is good. I got the roast beef bomb which comes with their bomb sauce and was very tasty. I wasn't impressed with their potato salad. It seems like it's not easy finding a really good sandwich place that serves good sides. They all seem to serve similar tasting generic sides and they seem happy with that, never improving on their recipe. They also seem a bit pricy. I paid $7.25 for my sandwich, $2.19 for a small potato salad, and then a drink. My whole lunch was just under $12. This location does not offer fresh brewed iced tea, which would have earned them another start from me. There are no fountain drinks, them only offer can or bottled drinks but the selection is pretty good. The staff? Very helpful and friendly. When I paid for my food the girl at the counter nearly short changed me. My total was just under $12 and I gave her a $20 and all she gave me was some coin change so I'm not sure what she thought I gave her money wise. It's a good think that I wasn't in my usual comatose like state. Oh well, I'm sure it was just a mistake. To summarize, a tad pricy but very tasty, I will return.

Writing this as I'm standing in line, three staff members, about NINE customers, I didn't hear the staff members greet even one of the customers when they walked in - TERRIBLE. And they're very quiet while the customers are kinda awkwardly standing there. They literally look like they're being forced to make sandwiches. Customer service should ALWAYS be number ONE for a (food) business, and their food comes in second.

Writing this between bites of "#12 - Da Big Brudda"... Pros: Good sandwiches (several hot) with unique combinations and fresh bread. Bomb Sauce is well... da Bomb! Cons: A bit more expensive than your typical sando spot. About $8 for sando only. Tips: If you are in a hurry, try go before noon or after 1:00pm. Recs: #8 Hot Chick (spicy chicken sandwich), #12 Da Big Brudda (pastrami, rb, salami), and #19 Cube Dweller Delight (turkey, prosciutto, avo) I go here for lunch a couple of times a month due to its proximity to my work. Overall I think their sandwiches are good, probably one of the better places in Natomas in terms of taste and fresh ingredients. Lines can get long during lunch hour. Service... most of the servers are friendly enough. I mean it's a sando shop not Morton's so it's not a big deal to me. Table seating is sparse, maybe 5-6 tables seating up to four each. The higher prices don't deter me from keeping it on my lunch list, but I'd probably go more often if it were cheaper.

Based on previous reviews of this location I expected to enter a chamber of torture where sandwhiches and workers posses the same level of disgust as a scene from Hostel. To my surprise, I was greeted by the employees and my sandwich was ready in roughly 5 minutes. I'm not sure what people expect from a sandwich shop. Maybe they need the employees to chew the sandwich for them as they polish their shoes and create a perfect rendition of Mozart. Enough about the service, it's a damn sandwich shop. The "heat wave" one of the more popular sandwiches so I'm told was amazing. It was $6.50 and worth every penny. The sandwich here makes me want to try everyone on the menu and never step foot in a Togos or Subway again. That is the most important thing about a sandwich spot. The taste, and it's amazing.

  • Jen J.

Great sandwiches . They carry many varieties and you can always make your own or even substitute items. For example, I'm more of a cream cheese lover on my sandwich rather than sliced cheese. They accommodate your sandwich needs. Great customer service as well

Togos was busy so we decided to stop here for lunch. We've been before and have always had great sandwiches. This time was different. I ordered the French dip on Dutch crunch with no onions. My boyfriend ordered salami and turkey on slices sour dough with no onions. We made it a meal and ended up spending $21! I wouldn't mind spending $21 IF my sandwich was good and if it was filled with meat an cheese! First both of our sandwiches came with onions :(. There was no cheese on mine and the meat was significantly less than I remembered. I go to delis to get big meat and produce filled sandwiches. The amount of meat and produce was the same amount that I could have put on at home. The best thing about my meal was the bread and that's not saying much since I'm sure it's the same bread I buy from raleys. Probably won't be back, it's too expensive and doesn't live up to the price :(.

I had lunch today and enjoyed Da Big Brudda on Dutch Crunch with pepper jack cheese and everything on it. It was delicious and very filling.

So, I come here because I actually really like the sandwiches. However, my customer service experience today will probably prevent me from coming back for a long, long time. Like I said, I like the sandwiches, so I am not ready to make the statement "I will never come here again" but I definitely don't feel like giving them my business for quite a while. The girl taking my sandwich order could not have been more rude or bossy. I wasn't sure if it was me reading into it, but my coworker that was with me had the same impression when we left. Another one of the workers was very sarcastically making fun of another coworker's really good customer service skills, like it was wrong to be friendly to customers. She was doing this fully in front of me and my coworker standing there waiting to pay. NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL!! The conversation was then started once I got back to the office, since our office is down the street from this shop. All of my coworkers within earshot completely agreed with how rude the workers are here and one coworker wanted me to specifically write how rude the OWNER is and how it seems like the employees are miserable working for her. I get that it's a sandwich shop and not a "dream job" but why not make it a fun environment instead of like a prison? Ugh, just so annoyed with them and I don't usually even write reviews on yelp but felt compelled enough to put this on here with the hopes that they read this and CHANGE THEIR ATTITUDES!!

This is my first time trying any of the sand which spots and I am happy to say I will never return ! Waited 15 minutes in line. Rude workers. Ran out of bread. And when I asked for less spread and easy on all the mayo and what not this worker decides to put extra spread al I could taste was the mayo so much for my $9 sand which. Oh did I mention I told them no onions because I am highly allergic to it and guess what?! There was onions. The only I ate during my lunch break was probably a Benadryl. Worst place ever.

    (1)
  • Rachel G.

They are way too slow and lack any process or streamline techniques. I stood in line waiting while 9 customers stood in line and for a periord of 5 minutes not a single order was paid for. Everything is terribly inefficient since the set up is so weird each sandwich takes entirely too long to make.

    (2)
  • Ryan C.

Great sandwiches. Usually have a good experience. However i called in a sandwich, got to work and saw they gave me the wrong one. Went back to get a new one and they closed at 4:30 even though they're supposed to close at 5. Sandwich spot you're better then that, but i still love going here

    (4)
  • Paola M.

I really love their sandwhiches. I would frequent the location on freeport but one of the workers was pretty rude. With that said, the workers here aren't rude they aren't super friendly either. During lunch the line is crazy long. You must try the bomb sauce, its simply amazing & I always get it on the side. Now they also sell cookies & wow !! They are so good, probably some of the best cookies I've ever had.

    (4)
  • Christiana M.

Amazing. The sandwiches are so good and I love the sauce that they use. Unfortunately when I went, they were out of avocado. But we happened to come towards closing and I guess they were throwing a bunch of stuff out so they gave us a huge discount. They were very friendly at this spot and talked with us while making our sandwiches. It was a nice experience. The place is a small little take-out restaurant with some seating inside and some really cool paintings on the counter. Sandwiches are normally pricey, but they are well worth it! Also, I just got am add in the mail stating that they now deliver. Score. Now I can get fat on their yummy sandwiches in the privacy of my own home ;).

  • Miranda H.

Don't understand why they only have three stars I thought they were delicious and had very friendly FAST service , even though the employee apologized for the wait, what wait?! I had the Mikey likes it with chicken instead of turkey DELICIOUS! The Dutch crunch was slightly too crunchy but that's how most would like it I assume. Kind of pricey like most delis but I think they are reasonable since I was overly full after I finished my flavorful sandwich. They are like a better version of Mr. Pickles, my sandwich tasted similar to something I may have had at a Mr. Pickles, but like I said better. The place is fairly divey, they could use fresh paint, new chairs, and new flooring it kind of looks like a circus threw up on the place which also makes it look dirty, which is really my only complaint. I would definitely return if I am in the area and I highly recommend the sandwich spot to anyone in the area who is a craving a delicious hot sandwich!

  • Jake R.

Ive been coming here for some time now and i have to say i am a fan. I came in during the lunch rush today and got the Mikey Likes it. It was delicious. The dutch crunch bread is amazing and the sandwiches are very filling. The girl that made my sandwich was very friendly and worked quick. No REAL complaints with the sandwiches or staff, BUT, today was probably the 2nd or 3rd time I came in and dined inside and heard the younger guy that works there talking a lot of shit to the women employees. I just always seem to notice him complaining and being rude to the girls he works with, even in front of customers! Dude just seems super immature and emotional all the time (GROW UP!) Other then him I love this place and will continue to come back

  • Justin W.

I had a Turkey, cranberry, and cream cheese sandwich. It was good, not great, but better than those other chain sandwich shops. I'd prefer a little more cream and cranberry on my sandwich, but all-in-all a decent price for a solid sandwich.

  • Sorina G.

My boyfriend and I found this place on yelp and decided to try it out. Was really good and both of us were very pleased with our sandwiches. The ladies working were really helpful and helped us decide on exactly what we wanted.

It's pretty hard to mess up a basic veggie sandwich and The Sandwich Spot chains usually don't disappoint. This franchise location looks a little run-down and could use some fresh paint. I went before the noon lunch rush and was helped right away. I couldn't help but notice the haphazard, hand-written signs all over the "premium chips" indicating that they were not included in the meal deals. It just seemed a little ghetto. They don't have fountain drinks, just canned soda and some bottled drinks. I'm personally not a fan of the "bomb sauce" but everyone else raves about it. If you've had the garlic sauce at Mr. Pickles, I think you'll find that it's pretty much the same thing.

Stopped in for lunch and had a turkey bacon avo sando. Great sandwich and I would eat here again. Staff was friendly and service was prompt.

  • Will L.

It's the bomb sauce that makes all the difference. Its a secret sauce that adds a bit of creaminess and enhanced flavor complimenting the meat plus veggies in your sandwich. Its kinda like a ranch dressing slightly milder with a hint of dill maybe? One of the best sandwiches I ever had. Otherwise its just another sandwich shop with blah decor. This establishment is right across from a Togo which at lunchtime the line is almost out the door. Here, I think its not as busy but their sandwiches taste just as good if not better. But I still think you get a slightly better value with Togos concerning price and proportions. As far as service with a smile, not so much here, the smile that is. My service was great, so I wouldn't hold it against the establishment. I will definitely come here for sandwiches again.

    (4)
  • Devo S.

I love The Sandwich Spot, but cannot afford to go there all the time because their sandwiches are a LITTLE pricey. However, when I feel the need, I'll splurge on the #4, the turkey and cranberry w/cream cheese on wheat. DELICIOUS! The staff is friendly and efficient, even during their uber-busy lunch rushes. I recommend this fine establishment to all :)

    (4)
  • Loren L.

I really like the sandwiches here and the macaroni salad is my favorite. It is expensive so I don't get to go here as often as I would like. The Bomb Sauce is really good. My coworkers have said it the best sandwich they ever had.... It does get a line during lunch so be sure to call your order in ahead of time.

  • Samantha C.

So I am generally a big fan of Sandwich Spot and I really tried to like this location but I'm giving up after today. I actually left today without a sandwich and walked across the parking lot to Togo's. All I wanted was melted cheese...call me a weirdo but I like my cheese melted. I wasn't getting any meat so I asked that they toast my bread with the cheese. The guy tells me, "This isn't Subway" so then I asked if they could just put the bread and cheese in the microwave for a few seconds and he tells me that it won't taste good. I then reply that I'm willing to take my chances and he straight up says no. This is my sandwich, I wasn't asking for your opinion on what I wanted. Ugh!

  • Chris E.

I am a fan of the Sandwich Spot and thought they were all the same but they were not. The environment inside this restaurant was rather cold. Not sure if we went on an off day but the sandwich designer was really nice but the older lady in the back was rather cold. I had asked if the Sandwich Spots all had a theme because I had been to different ones and she rudely replied to the sandwich designer "no". I believe it was her attitude that made our experience less desirable. The sandwich was good and made to order with no mistakes. But they offer no soda fountain so you had to purchase a can or bottle. Then the sandwich deals didn't include all the chips which was rather strange. I would just assume have all the chips included or none of them. The cost was higher at this Sandwich Spots than the others I had been to. I will stick with my favorite Sandwich Spot on 65th!

After fighting off "recruiters" I was in need of a snack - BADLY! I noticed The Sandwich Spot from the road and decided to stop in. I ordered a veggie sandwich with cheddar cheese and a garlic mayo that was actually pretty good. I added avocado and got a meal deal. The bread was decent, and the sandwich reasonably sized. The price was a little high. It cost me around eight bucks \for a sandwich and a drink. Good as a stop in but it wasn't spectacular. There wasn't anybody inside by the time I walked in. I sat in my car debriefing for a while, watching the lunch rush pass me by. Probably was the best idea, as it is a bit small inside. After my meal I got back on the road. Nice little filler snack before dinner. Recommended for those who are famished in search of a close snack!

I've been here probably 3 or 4 times, and I would say that compared to the other local places to get sandwiches you get a better tasting sandwich for a little bit more money, which is worth it to me. I've gotten Da Big Brudda (hot pastrami, roast beef and salami), and my wife has had The Mikey Likes It (hot turkey, cream cheese, avocado). The Bomb Sauce is good, whatever it is, so definitely have them add that to your sandwich if it doesn't come with it.

This place was recommended by a friend. While waiting for my wife, I read reviews on yelp and was kind of turned off by the bad reviews on the price and customer service. When we entered I was pleasantly surprised by Brian who greeted us and asked if we had ever been there. When we said no, he was extremely helpful; explained the menu and gave us some recommendations. I ordered #16 and my wife #4 both on the crunch roll (as recommended by our friend) and the sandwich was yumm-o! Both are hot sandwich, but we requested cold, and he delivered with no attitude or questions, just an, "of course!", and a smile. I loved everything about it! The toppers (there were plenty!) the bread (was delicous!!). There were no fountain sodas, but I didn't go there for soda, I drank a peach snapple while I enjoyed my delicious sandwich. Brian let us know he would be around if we needed any help, and another gentleman offered to wrap up our leftover as we were stuffed. We will definitely return and recommend The Sandwich Shop to anyone who ask or wants a yummy sandwich.

This place rocks! The sandwiches are always great and the service is fast and friendly. We recently had a company event catered and everyone wanted commented on how great the food was. Thanks to Judy for the great variety and quality you provided.

I went into The Sandwich Shop in Natomas for lunch today and to start things off, the staff just looked at me like, "ugh not another one." Then the red headed guy who took my order did the following.......well for one he had NO gloves on and was touching everything including his dirty apron, I asked for a certain type of bread he first said that it will be a few minutes but then turns around and says, "oh wait here's one with mayo already.' WTF! Was he really trying to serve me dry looking bread with mayo that was put on from a previous order that another customer did not end up buying? PLUS he had his NON GLOVED hands all over it. I told him, "um no I want it fresh, that is actually kind of gross." I will never go there again, also the owner could be just a little more friendly and smile, she was kind of stuck up...come on now lady it is just sandwiches.

  • Nick C.

Boooo! This place is crappy. Really bad customer service with attitudes galore. They skimp on the ingredients on their sandwiches and they are WAY overpriced. I came here when they first opened up and have not been back since. A sandwich and chips = $10. Really?! I can go to Togo's or Subway and get more for my money. Again: Boooo!!!

  • Erynn S.

Come here if you want a nice sized sandwich at a decent price. The staff is always friendly and more than willing to accommodate your request. The have seating inside and have an outside area as well. Try the RiverCat or Hot Chick sandwiches... you won't be disappointed!!

So I decided to go ahead and give this place a shot regardless of the OK/mediocre reviews. The place itself is a bit small and actually does have that Mr. Pickles feel, as everyone said it does. They don't have much seating either, so if your planning on eating in then don't come during their lunch rush hours. They have a sign at the end of the counter that says "Order Here", but for some reason some people just stand in the middle of the 2 people making the sandwiches, which sometimes get people confused and causes people to cut in front of others -- not cool (- 1 star). While getting my sandwich made I felt a bit rushed. They quickly ran through what you wanted and asked you to go ahead to the register to be rung up ... I needed two sandwiches (they never asked, "Is this all for you?"), so when I told them I needed two, they replied with, "Oh, Ok. Let me finish this one first." Well yea, I was going to wait for them to finish my first one before giving them my next one, but since they insisted me to move forward so I decided to throw my other order out there (-1 star). After giving my complete order I went over to the register to pay for my sandwiches and the woman looked at me as though I should have waited for all my sandwiches to be made. So I asked her, "Did you want me to wait for my last sandwich before I get rung up?" She replies with an irritated, "No. Just tell me what you have." When i told her what I ordered she was very rude and was in a rush. C'mon now people, you need to communicate with each other -- the employee making my sandwich tells me to go to the register to pay and the person at the register wanted me to wait for my sandwich to be finish being made. I know it is lunch rush, but it doesn't mean you should rush your customers or be at all rude (-1 star). I paid $15 for 2 ~6 inch sandwiches ... they do taste great -- warm bread and fresh veggies (+1 star) . But it is a bit pricey for a sandwich (-1 star) ... they need to either lower their prices or stack up the meats, veggies, & etc in the sandwiches. If their prices were lower, their sandwiches were stacked, or their service was great ... then this place would probably get 4-5 stars from me -- and probably from a bunch of other people as well ... but until then it looks like this place only gets 2 stars.

I have to say I was very disappointed in my service yesterday. I had high hopes for the place since a few of my friends told me that sandwich spot is excellent. Perhaps they meant a different location. The man making my sandwich was VERY slow, taking way too long, and asking me the same questions over and over (what kind of cheese was that? What kind of sandwich did u want again?) I only had two sandwiches both of them cold sandwiches (one Italian, one avocado and turkey) he put the meat of one in the microwave for about 3 minutes and walked away. I just kept staring at the meat cooking and cooking and cooking. I finally asked someone to stop the microwave. I couldn't figure out what sandwich meat he was cooking. Both were cold I thought. Turns out when I got home, the sandwich was COMPLETELY WRONG! It wasn't an avo Swiss turkey. It had corned beef and some other dark meat. It took his 15 minutes ( no I'm NOT exaggerating ) for him to make 2 sandwiches wrong. (the second one he forgot the avocado) I paid 14$ for that crap.

I came in for the first time recently and ordered the Night Hawk - marinated chicken, bacon, and avacado on wheat. The chicken was so tender and delicious; the bread was perfect. My friend ordered Da Big Brudda - hot pastrami, roast beef, and salami. He also enjoyed his sandwich. I knocked off one star because the guy making my sandwich kept stopping to talk to his co-worker...I thought that was rude. I'm sure he could've continued with the sandwich and speak at the same time. I do look forward to trying their other sandwiches; the Hot Chick and the Roast Beef Bomb.

Two of my co-workers and I ordered our sandwiches over the phone for pick up. When we arrived, the woman helping us was EXTREMELY RUDE to us when she found out we were paying separately for each order. They are located near several business parks, so I'm sure these types of payments are common. My friend proceeded to make nice small talk with her and she was brutally rebuffed. Walking out, I made sure everyone within earshot knew that she was rude. Judging by the reviews of this place so far, I wish I would have done my research before trying them out. Not going back. The mediocre sandwiches they serve aren't worth that type of treatment.

Friendly staff, large sandwich. I'm going to say the big thing keeping me from going 4 or 5 stars on this was the quality of the meat. The sourdough roll the sandwich came on was fantastic, but just not good enough to carry the sandwich entirely. If this sandwich place sliced the meats to order it would probably be out of this world.

Seriously don't know how this place it coming in with 2.5 stars! The sandwiches are sooo good and so reasonable. If you are walking across the parking lot to get an overpriced Togos instead then you are clearly on something. The sweet rolls are to die for! The tri-tip that they grill outside on nice days is heaven in a meat slab. The smoked mozzerella that they have on occasion is enough to make you climb over the counter and start eating slices when no one is looking. Yes, the staff is goofy and laid back but that's part of the fun. They have never been rude or unfriendly...really just a bunch of goof balls. Oh, and if that wasn't enough....have one of the peanut butter cookies with the peanut butter cups on top. So good that I had to take a deep breath just typing that!

I thought I would give this place a try since it's close to school and my friend told me it's pretty tasty. I walked in and it was unpleasantly warm inside the store. I don't know what it was --- the combo of sweat, meat, and heater, I guess?? The staff working there was pretty intense --- to the point that they were unfriendly. The girl who made my sandwich had ATTITUDE! She kept giving me dirty looks, I didn't understand, I kept answering her questions and smiling at her. Prices were pretty high --- I only ordered one sandwich and it came out to almost $8.00 --- eeeks! Not coming back!

I would describe this place as Very Plain. Nothing about it is very exciting. I had the River Cat sandwich, and it was just ok. It wasn't bad or anything. All the ingredients they used seemed to be fresh. But everything about it screamed "plain jane": the looks, as well as the taste. For a sandwich as plain as it is, in my opinion it was over-priced, almost $7 for just the sandwich by itself. I'd rather go to the chain places (Subway or Quiznos), or even Safeway's Signature Cafe and get a better tasting sub for $5. In short, nothing special here, other than over-priced, plain subs

Gross. I second the review about the "bad vibes". I felt them too. They have a whole bunch of "specialty sammies" but they don't know how to make a simple sandwich that tastes really good with good ingredients. I asked for oil and vinegar (they couldn't believe I didn't want mayo) and they didn't have it. But they had some gloppy "garlic spread". Um, no thanks, I gotta go back to work and then hit the gym - I don't want to smell like dirty teenage boy stank. I asked for sourdough bread - they gave me tasteless, stale white bread. My sandwich was pretty awful. I mean, they make Subway taste like a million bucks (Subway has better bread, oil and vinegar, and all kinds of veggies, unlike "the Sandwich Spot". They charged me full price even though I just had turkey and veggies, no cheese, etc. The woman who works there is very unfriendly. The dudes are all way too intense. Do they really need 8 working at a time? Maybe if they had less people working (standing around) they could get some tasty bread, some quality ingredients, and some oil and vinegar - not everyone likes mayo, duh! Not going back. Yuck.

I dropped in here with a friend, during our lunch break, from a training class. His sandwich looked tasty; however, I didn't get anything. I found it really odd, to say the least, that they have a sign stating they aren't required to wear gloves, but will upon request. It kinda defeats the "sanitation" purposes if you've already palmed the meat & veggies, but wear gloves for the occasional customer. I think I'll pass on this spot.

I don't understand why this is getting bad reviews? Everyone's allowed to have a bad day... A good sandwich shop is a must wherever you choose to live. The customer service is great and everytime I have called my sandwiches are ready. If I have a choice between Quizno's and the local Sando Shop, sorry the Local Shop wins... No rock, paper, scissors needed... The Hot Chic rocks, the Chicken Lickin' is so scrummy and the dutch crunch roll is melt in your mouth freshness.... I have now cheated on the Hot Chic and am having an affair with The Cube Dweller Delight... And if you don't like the Fancy Sandos, they have the plain stuff too!!!

The Sandwich Spot is quite possibly my favorite place for lunch. I went to school nearby and it was the perfect place to get a huge sandwich, for far less than Beach Hut Deli. No matter what kind of sandwich you're into, they have it. Expect to wait in line if you go around noon, but it's well worth the wait (most likely a place without a line during peak lunch hour, isn't the best place). The service is friendly and if you go frequently, get a stamp card (buy 8 sandwiches get the 9th free... although they usually only make you buy about 4).

Judy and the busy team are quick, friendly and make amazing sandwiches. I saw her preparing a huge catering order when I was there and next time I host or attend a function in the Natomas area I will certainly have Sandwich Spot do the catering. Great food, easy and convenient location and plenty of parking.

Really average. There are many better options in town, and not even that far away from this place. It felt a lot like Mr Pickles. Menu was similar; chintzy buildout with a bare minimum of any attempt at ambience. People were nice enough; turnaround time a little slow. Most of the sandwiches are right around $7, plus or minus 50 cents. If it weren't a franchise (and thus not paying franchise fees), they could probably back their price off by a dollar and I'd be more interested. I guess what I'm saying is either: a) you ought to get a little more for your money; b) prices ought to be a little lower; or c) if you're going to imitate someone in the market, please be better at it than they are. For my $7 sandwich, I'd rather go to Beachhut Deli, Dad's Deli, Roxie, or even Mr Pickles. Sandwich Spot: Please try and do something to differentiate yourself. Oh, and please get a soda fountain machine. Don't the distributors basically give them away now? You can probably buy one at Costco, for all I know.

Get here before the lunch crowd or you may have to wait a bit. Definitely worth it though. not a lot of seating inside or out so plan on your food with you.

I'm glad I didn't yelp this place before going. I might have missed it. It reminds me of the Soup Kitchen from Seinfeld. They have tables inside, but you can't get to most of them for the line of 20 people waiting to place an order. I had a hot chiecken sandwich with pepper jack and bomb sauce. It was very good. A sandwich, chips, and soda combo will set you back about $9. I liked the variety better than Subway.

This place is just a touch over better than average, if average is Subway. They have fresh bread that is hardy and the use a decent amount of meat. They are fairly inefficient at making the sandwiches so the line can be long. Biggest issue is I think they are over priced 6.49 for a hammy san. I probably would go to Togos across the parking lot or Subway across the street before I went back here. 5 dollar foot long. My rating is 2 Stars.

Great sandwiches. Everything is fresh, high quality and handmade by a colorful buch of very positive people. Every other week a drag out an old grill and MAKE their own tri-tip - a must have. The sanwiches are a bit pricey, but if you use the frequent eater card, it gets better. Something to watch out for - lines can get HUGE if you don't time your visit right, as you can easily spend 15 minutes waiting to make your order, but that's the burden of popularity and poor timing on you part. If you come at 11:15 or 1:00, there is typically very little waiting.

Good sandwiches! They don't skimp on the meat and cheese. They use green lettuce (like romaine) and not iceburg. It can be really really packed. Not too expensive. Other chain sandwich places can't compare. The girls working in there could use a few tips on customer service and being polite, but I don't care, I'm a bitch too so F*CK it! It's like 10 minutes of my day and a kick ass sandwich.

I absolutely love this place. Been coming here for over a year. Yes they are a bit pricey, but their sandwiches are amazing. The staff is always extremely nice to me, and will go above and beyond to try to please me. They are generous with their portions. The produce and bread is always fresh. I've never really had a problem with this place. Sorry to see others don't share my enthusiasm for this place. It's my favorite place to go for lunch.

Love this place. The sandwiches are great. They have outside seating if you want to brave the heat. The folks that work here are always very polite and quick. The only reason they dont get 5 stars is the crowd and the slightly high prices. There is usually quite a wait during the lunch hour.

They really didn't have much varieties on their bread. Unless we had to wait a extra 5-10mins. Soo not prepared. Will not be coming back to this place. Plus one of the ladies acted like they were too good for us to even buy from that place.

I love the special sauce! The bread is always fresh (Sourdough Roll is my fave) and they put plenty of meat and veggies.A little on the expensive side, but I say totally worth it.

Lets do dead center, 2 and 1/2 stars. It is expensive for a sandwich place. I went to the midtown location long ago and me and the Ms. had two really good sandwiches which were sitll good after making the trip to the delta for a picnic (although I can't for the life of me remember which sandwiches they were). Anyways, I had a hearing down the street and needed a relatively quick bite to eat so I headed in here (my other option being a TOGOS). I got an egg salad sandwich on rye. This was respectable egg salad. Not to goopy and mayonaissey like some. It was real diced eggs with just the right amount of additions to hold it together. The bread was well toasted, not so hard it cut my mouth, and was very good. I got it with all the fixings which were fresh. No, I didn't fall out of my chair but it got me through till dinner. The staff seemed fine to me. They didn't rub my back while I ate or cut my sandwich into bite size pieces but hey, I came here for a quick lunch, not to find new best friends. If you don't mind the prices its a decent, but not extraordinary, sandwich.

I went out of my way to try this place after it first opened. You can always tell when a business has just opened - everyone is so eager to help you - bordering on creepy-eager. The tuna sandwich on sourdough was not bad. I would say average. They are over-priced and I agree there are better places to go for a sandwich in downtown. Practically no vegetarian options. I probably won't go back.

Went today to try this place out. It felt A LOT like Mr Pickles, catchy names for the sandwiches, and tasted just about the same. To me, the sandwiches needed some more development. I do agree, slow-ish turn around time getting the order together. Granted, they were putting together and order of like 50 sandwiches, but then again, there was 5 or 6 employees working. I'll go again, but I definitely wont go out of my for a ho-hum sammie

So I walk in the store to order and there was only one other customer at the counter and 4 employees behind the counter (one was the owner). I'm standing there ready to place my order and no one is even looking in my direction....finally one employee who was on break sitting down eating had to ask another girl to take my order. I guess stocking chips, taking a break and cleaning the counter where more important than helping a customer! I was pissed and ready to just say forget it, walk out and drive to Mr. Pickles instead. The girl that made my sandwiches got on my nerves because she kept asking me all kinds of questions about how I wanted my sandwich made....I'm thinking to myself "just make it the way the description says and if I want something different I'll let you know!" She asked if I wanted 2 or 3 pieces of bread, garlic sauce, crispy bacon... So I get home with my sandwiches only to be even more pissed off when I realized that she made one of them with the ends of the bread loaf! WTF!!! All the other dumb questions she asked me but never asked if I mind having the ends of the bread loaf....THe sandwiches were good, (2 Capitol Cities w/bacon, lettuce, tomato, avocado, mayo) but the service was spotty so I'll never go back. Mr Pickles is just as tasty plus you get a free chocolate chip cookie!

I go to the Sandwich Spot about once a week. Oddly enough, my first experience there was not good, but I went back because it's so close to my work. The first time there I had a mediocre tuna sandwich on sourdough. It was so dry and lacked any flavor. Now I get the hot pastrami on a sweet roll and oh my goodness is it good! The bread is soft and warm, they put plenty of fresh veggies and the most delicious garlicky sauce. So even though the sandwich is kind of filling, I always end up eating the whole thing. It is a little more expensive than say Subway, but the quality makes it worth it. As another reviewer mentioned, the staff is a little over-eager. There is rarely and occasion when I'm not enthusiastically asked, How is your sandwich??? I prefer to just order and be left alone. But I've been there enough to get used to it. They mean well. I highly recommend this place for a yummy weekday lunch.
