Why on earth have I missed out on this place?? Great prices, food and service. My sister and I wanted to go to a taqueria because we feel like that's where real quality Mexican food is at. I've yelped around looking for taquerias and this place caught my attention because yelpers said that it's family owned. We came in looked at the menu and was greeted by a nice gentlemen asking if we was ready. I ordered a super chicken burrito with no beans and I also added a dollar to get it wet. My sister ordered a super carne asada with refried beans. We paid and got a number. My order came out to be $12 and my sister was $10 because she got a drink. As we waited we checked out the chips and salsa bar. Regular tortillas chips but the one that caught my attention was the green salsa!!!! It has to have guacamole in it because it was delicious!!!! I have no idea but it was amazing! I took four containers to go. Our food was served to us by a nice young waitress. She was so nice asking if we needed anything else. My wet chicken burrito wow delicious. Chicken was nicely seasoned and was not dry at all! I have no idea what the sauce that smothered the burrito was. I think enchilada sauce? I don't know but that was sooooo good!!! I loved it. It was too big to finish but I had half of it and absolutely wished I could have finished it because it was that good. I had a bite of my sister's carne asada burrito and the meat was also very flavorful and moist. I absolutely hate dry meat!! So it was a plus plus plus that their meat wasn't dry and bland. As we were eating the young lady was very attentive. She checked on us to see if how we were doing and asked us if we needed anything. Overall, I HAVE to come back. Such a great affordable spot!

First time eating here this afternoon for lunch and It was packed. The line was outside of the door but my parents and I still decided to wait in line because the food must be good or the place wouldn't be so busy. We ordered chicken shredded tacos. The customer service was okay but I wouldn't say very friendly at all. There were no smiles or even a hello from both the man and the young woman who brought our food to the table. The people who worked there seemed like they just didn't want to be there (which I don't blame them, it was super packed). Anyways, the tacos were cold. The chicken seemed like it wasn't fully cooked all the way (a lot of pink). I do have to mention that their chips and salsa bar were delicious! One of the best salsa bars I have seen so far here in Sacramento. Overall, I would come back here to try their other dishes, but I'm not too thrilled about their lack of customer service.

3.5 Came here for a quick lunch they offer free chips with a salsa bar and they were fresh also. 4/5 I got the bbq pork jumbo burrito which included guac, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, beans, and rice. The size of the burrito is slightly smaller than most supreme burritos I have eaten before but I was still full by the end. The pork was a tad dry and I felt some crunchy bits in my burrito. Bacon? The taste wasnt bad but I was not overwhelmed either. 3/5 Overall your average taqueria with a fresh chips and salsa bar for a very affordable price. Id go here over chipotle though.

I love this place! It is one of the hardest things I've had to give up while on my "healthy eating" kick. Today However I said eff it and went here for some hangover food. After last nights open bar at the Leatherby wedding (yes as in the ice cream haha) I was, needless to say, a bit under the weather. My two sure fire ways of curing this is plenty of water and Mexican food. I love Taqueria Garibali for many reasons. For starters, they have one of the best chip and salsa bars ever. Many different kinds of salsas, limes, and peppers. They give you the option of either putting them in a basket or in a paper bag to take home. I have been to many Mexican food restaurants/taquerias that charge you to take a bag of chips and salsa home with you. (cough, cough, Adalbertos, Chipotle...) So this of course pleases me. Second, the food is always prepared very fast. Anytime I go in there, no matter what time of day, my order is always ready in less then 10 min. I dont think I have ever waited more then 10 min for any meal I have ordered here. Third, SUPER NACHOS! I looooove nachos. Its a little bit of everything all in one. I split an order between my BF and I nearly every time we venture here. Fourth (and I discovered this today) The Super burrito "wet" style (I got mine with steak). Holy Heaven Batman! This is the most delicious, saucy, cheesy, meaty burrito I have ever eaten in my life. And that sauce, good grief Charlie Brown, can you bottle that up so I can take it home and dump it over everything?!?! I wish that I could share a bite with you now. It was so big that I couldn't bare to eat more then half. No worries though, I plan on eating it for dinner. Fifth, prices are about the same as any taqueria stand. It just doesn't matter so much because I know its worth it. I really dont have anything to say about the customer service. If I had to give it one word I would say efficient. Maybe they could use a smile? But when it comes to this place I really don't care because all the five things mentioned above make up for it. Go Eat Here ASAP. And get the super wet burrito. I dare you to tell me different! =)

There is no better salsa on the planet, unless your mom makes it! The carne asada tacos are rico style (small), but full of that semi-charred flavor you would expect. A squeeze of lime and away you go! If you are ever visiting the Arden area of Sacramento, do not miss this. That's an order!

OH MAN. I come here not only for the food, but for the crowd. It was late at night and my girl friends and I were extremely hungry. We were craving Mexican food, and so luckily one of my girls knew this place was open super late. It was 2am and even though the website says that they close at like 10pm, they lied! So we came in here, and I swear, we were the only Asians in the house. Pardon my ignorance, but I have never seen such ethnic group of Hispanics in my life! And these were your typical, very prideful Hispanics, with men that wore cowboy hats and women that wore clothes were just filthy that you want to cover your children eyes. Yet, it was quite entertaining because they were extremely nice, fun, and kept to themselves. These folks really know how to party, because many of them came in hung over! Any who, enough about the atmosphere, let's talk about the food. Fast and cheap; just the way I like it! I was feeling a little greedy that night and ordered two crispy tacos for a good price. First bite? Man, these were some darn good tacos considering that they had a ton of guacamole and were fried to perfection. Meanwhile, my other friends ordered their taco plate (consisted of two tacos, beans, and rice), and burritos. I didn't get a chance to try their dishes, but they looked pretty good. Plus, service here is excellent; we received our dishes in less than five minutes! Also, don't forget to check out the nacho bar!

Salsa should be sold over the counter its the best. Burrito was huge and great. The bloody Mary's are huge great way to get a date in a great mood. Great oh yea it was great. Have a great time

YAY! My brother took me here for a quick bite to eat. I ordered two pastor tacos. My bother got two carne tacos and a pastor. We also ordered orchata. There is a large chips and salsa bar with all the side conidments that your delicous tacos deserve. The wait time was not long. I enjoyed the tasty tacos.

  • V P.

Eaten here twice and enjoy time I really enjoyed my food. This place has the most moist and flavor led enchiladas ever. Their salsa bar was a good variety.

My second favorite Taqueria in Sacramento (My favorite is La Favorita Taqueria on Florin Rd.) This place opens late which is a huge plus! The food here is always pretty good. I normally order their burritos. I also love restaurants that have a self serve chips/salsa bar! When I go to a Mexican restaurant without a salsa bar, it's a downer for me. Beware of late night hours though. This place can get pretty packed late evenings.

This place sure can get busy on the weekends around lunch time! I came for the first time on a Saturday afternoon and the line was literally out-the-door. I figured that this place must be good then! The line did move pretty quickly, and I ordered an al pastor burrito and a chile verde taco. Total was about $7-8 or so. After ordering, they give you a number and you can pick your seat. The place has plenty of seating inside, and a number of tables outside as well. They have a self-serve salsa bar with a few different salsas. The chips were crispy and warm. The salsas were chilled and ranged from mild to quite spicy. After munching on chips for a few minutes, the food was delivered to my table. Both items were tasty and were really hot (just made!). Everyone I interacted with was quite friendly, as well. I'll be back. Notes: -Plenty of parking (they share the same lot with Cost Plus).

One of the best taquerias I have been to in CA. You can't go wrong with anything you order. Super burrito is excellent so are their quesadillas. Nice salsa bar too!

  • Meg I.

Great chips and fresh salsa bar (the avocado salsa is amazing), fast service, and decent prices. They only take cash and debit cards though, which is a little annoying but I don't need to be going into debt for a burrito anyway. I got the vegetarian burrito and it was delicious. Ingredients seemed fresh and were mixed together well, and they used a good amount of guacamole and sour cream which was pleasantly surprising - they didn't skimp with one dollop like other places. Everything was going great until 10 minutes after we left. My husband and I both got cramping stomach pains soon after eating, and as I searched for the nearest bathroom I knew I couldn't give this place 5 stars anymore.

  • L C.

I have been trying out some different taquerias in town to try to find a place with good burritos and this place has by far been the worst. A regular burrito is tiny. Its about the size of two taquitos put together. Also, last time I ordered a carnitas super burrito and there was a bone in my burrito. On top of the bad food the people that work here are not friendly at all and a bit rude. I lived in Modesto and Santa Cruz before moving to Sac and sadly I have not found a mexcian food place in Sacramento that compares to the taquerias in Modesto or Santa Cruz.

My first trip to Taqueria Garibaldi turned out different than I expected. When I first walked towards the entrance, I noticed the tile on the ground and immediately noticed the high quality patio tables. After walking in, the interiors tasteful design caught my attention. It was original and very well kept. I noticed the associates cleaning tables and walls whenever they had the opportunity. Proceeding to order, me and my roommate/bestfriend both ordered the super burrito. We noticed the different things on the menu and their prices. This taqueria lacks unique entrées but makes up for in quality and deliciousness of the candid dishes it serves. The burritos we ordered had a mouthful of flavor that I recognize from childhood having grown up in a Hispanic cultured home environment. One thing I recommend to this establishment... Chipotle is right next door. Their most popular dishes are all available at your restaurant. Try closing the gap between your prices and those of Chipotles to draw in those customers who look for something a little more bona fide than a chicken-bean-rice burrito. Three stars overall.

They automatically charged me for tips without my knowledge. They could at least inform me about it. I decided to ignore the situation. While I was getting salsa from the salsa bar a lady came and took my order number. I figured she took it because she was going to give me my food when she comes back out. I went back to my table and sat there for a couple minutes. I looked towards the direction of the cashier and he pointed to a bag on a table next to mine. I figured that was meant for me. I grabbed the food and walked out. Horrible customer service. This will be my first and last visit there.

  • Alan T.

The food here is pretty good, but holy shit is the chick who works the counter rude?! This is the third time I've had to tolerate her crappy attitude and I'm about to give up on this joint because of her. Management should tell her to fix her internal problems or look for a job somewhere else.

A true 5 star burrito. This place is in the same family of restaurants as La Fiesta on Alhambra and it lives up to their great reputation. I may even like it a little more than La Fiesta, which may be fighting words in some circles. The burritos here are amazing. Good selection of meat, fresh veggies, and constructed to perfection. The burrito construction is a key element of the entire experience, and these guys don't miss a beat. It won't fall apart. You wont be taking bites entirely of rice. It will not disappoint. Reasonably priced for some of the best burritos in sac. Good salsa bar (get the green avocado sauce). Fast and friendly service. Clean. Come see for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

Very pleased. The last Mexican place I went to in Sac came "highly recommended" and let's just say they were more than disappointing. We walked in Garibaldi's and I was instantly impressed. Tables were nice, the floor was a nice tile, had a nice bar. But beyond that it was packed. People's plates looked right. I had a staple of mine, and also a goo dish to judge a Mexican place on, Chile Relleno, reasonably priced, and a large horchata. The right cheese, the right pepper, a really delicious sauce on top, seriously I sopped that sauce up with my tortillas until my plate was clean. My wife had chicken fajitas and she loved them. She normally will not eat thigh meat because of the texture. The marinade on the chicken was great and it was cooked perfectly. She liked it so much I wasn't about to tell her it was thigh meat. I'd seriously pay whatever they wanted to charge to buy that chicken pre marinated to take home and grill myself. I wanted to try the shrimp dish my mom got, but she ate it all, she doesn't normally eat a whole meal no matter how good. Even my dad, who asked if chocolate milk has bell peppers in it, liked his enchiladas. All in all, good meal, staff was really polite, and the place was hoppin'.

  • T L.

This place is barely decent. The portions are tiny especially the tostadas and the jumbo burrito is smaller than anything I have ever seen in my life. But the meat is delicious which is why it earned a second star.

    (2)
  • Kilifi F.

This place won't disappoint. I am a certified Taco Critic and they can throw down. I'm a HUGE NACHO FANATIC and I like it a certain way, hence the one star, only because it's my favorite Mex-dish. Yummy place.

    (4)
  • Sun K.

They don't take cards. They're burritos are HUGE like, almost a foot long probably 7-8inches. I got the veggie burrito w/o rice and i ended up getting sick so I'm not sure if I came on an off day but I'm not going to risk getting burritos from them again. I might try one of their plates.

This is my favorite Taqueria in Sac. I come from the Bay Area, where there is good Mexican food at almost every corner, but here is Sac I haven't had much luck finding a good Taqueria. That is till now...I usually get a carnita's super burrito with re-fried beans. They re-fry them with chorizo for more flavor.. yummy. Others in my family get the lengua tacos and they say they are delicious. They make the BEST horchata I have ever had... here or the Bay.

  • Amy F.

Absolutely love this place! The food is fantastic, they are quick, clean and friendly. The last time I was there I was behind 6 people in line with every table in the place full. I ordered my food to go and it was ready within 5 minutes of me ordering. I have been many times and it is outstanding each time. Highly recommend!

  • Lacey C.

If you aren't a fan of mexican food, this is the place for you! I had the vegetarian tacos and my boyfriend had the chicken enchiladas. There is no spice, no flavor very very bland. My taco was basically a crap-ton of iceberg lettuce on some beans. I added a ton of salsa from the salsa bar to add a little flavor.

    (2)
  • Chrisy Y.

Decent. I've had better Mexican food. They were super nice and all, but the cashier totally didn't listen to anything my roomie and I ordered! Asked for regular nachos ... got nachos with meat. Asked for a Super burrito ... got a regular burrito. But they're okay ... and cheap though!

  • Nick G.

When I was taken here, I was told it was the best Mexican food in the Sacramento area. After my meal, I downed what was left of my delicious cantaloupe drink (agua fresca) and admitted that that was the best Mexican food I've had in quite some time. Since that time, I've been back once or twice, and have widened my menu experience. My favorite is probably the tostada del mar, its just amazingly delicious. It's very tangy, has some citrus kick to it, some fresh avocado on top, and the fish just goes perfect with everything else. Make sure you eat it quick though, the tostada will get soft and mushy if left in the juices for too long. The tostada de camarones is almost as good, and seems to be a very popular choice. I found it best to pour on the tapatio, it went excellent with the shrimp and avocado. I've also had the carne asada plate, the taco salad, some tacos, and a whole lot of their chips at the salsa bar. Love the free chips and salsa, I'm a big fan of the avocado salsa. This place is a hidden gem that gives you a lot of bang for your buck.

Better food and cheaper at el jarritto on broadway... Customer service not the best.

  • Mia C.

Have been to this taqueria twice, both times after 9 pm. The tacos were great. It was inexpensive and had to spend only under 15$ for 2 people. Almost all of the customers were Mexicans, so the food must be authentic.

  • Tiff L.

Stumbled by this place because I had a coupon for Cost Plus and I was hungry. Best accident ever! price was fair, food was super hot and tasty. I had carnitas taco and cabeza taco. Meats were flavorful and they were not stingy on the amount of meat. Husband had a super burrito with pastor. again the meat was tender and flavorful. It was smoking hot and helped melting the cheese, loved the gooey mess! what more can you ask for? I am coming here every time I am in Arden area.

    (5)
  • Mona A.

Awesome food, quick service! $1 tacos from 4-6 pm. And that's any tacos! Tried the fish, shrimp, and carne asada - all were bomb!

    (4)
  • Wendy P.

Not terrible but very much like a Baja Fresh or one of those other fake Mexican places. The veggie burrito has beans, sour cream, rice, cheese, iceberg lettuce and pico de gallo from what I can tell. This ends up being too many cold ingredients so the cheese doesn't melt. I might try it without the lettuce if I return. Also, at $5 it seems a little pricey. I don't know. Maybe I'm just used to Los Angeles where there are tons of great Mexican places that are authentic and cheap.

    (3)
  • Tria H.

I had the taco and the burrito. The burrito was good but not great. The taco was pretty good but too small. Like how they put salsa on it. The cashier was really nice to me and asked me if we eat these kind of meat at home and do we eat a lot of spicy food. The place was clean, and they clean our table right after we finished. They have tvs(like about 3). I'll come here again to try their crane asada which was new on their menu.

Stopped in this place after a discouraging trip to the mall on Christmas Eve. After all these years, never been to this place. Went based on the reviews of yelpers. The price is very reasonable. I had a BBQ pork taco combo with rice and beans. My hubby had a BBQ chicken taco. The food was delicious and the price is very reasonable. We enjoyed the fresh salsa bar and yummy chips. Definitely a spot we would go to when we are in the area.

  • James S.

This place is a gold mine. All of their dishes are great and so is the customer service. My favorite dish is the siete mares (seven seas)... The plate comes out hot and they are not shy on the crab pieces like other spots I have been at. It is pricey but it is worth it especially if you are hanged over lol...

The best spot For mexican food so far in sacramento! Ill go back again when in the area.

  • Kris B.

Just tried the veggie burrito - yum!!! So flavorful! And only $5.45. I think I might be hooked. Very filling, and great construction. Can't wait to bring my husband here. We're fans of the El Faro places in San Francisco. I think he'll agree that Taqueria Garibaldi knows their stuff. They take debit cards and cash only. At least, that's what the sign by the cash register said.

My go to restaurant when I'm in Sacramento which is about twice a month. I usually order my favorite Chicken Enchillada with refried beans. The chicken is very juicy, tender and flavorful and the enchilada is topped with a delicious spicy red sauce. The plate is served with rice, a lettuce and tomato salad and sour cream on the side. Awesome! The Pork tacos are good as well as the burritos. Service is quick and efficient and the food is reasonably priced. They also have a decent chips and salsa bar.

  • Joe A.

Taqueria Garibaldi rocks! My honey and I go once a week for dinner. Food is great. I love their red sauce, and re-fried beans. Huge chip bar with a ton of salsa. Not sure what they put in their Coke machine, but the Coke tastes great here. Huge plus for the avid Coke drinker. Very clean place, including the restrooms. As for the staff, everyone is great! I read some reviews saying they had cold attitudes, I think its more that some do not speak that great of English, which I don't hold against them. They take great care of us. Welcomed with a smile, and they know what I order. I have no complaints with them at all.

    (5)
  • Song C.

I really like the refried beans here. It's made with lots of love. I always get the chicken enchilada plate. I also love the self serve salsa bar. I'm a salsa whore so I help myself to one of ever flavor. I especially love drizzling the guacamole salsa over my enchiladas. Happy.

  • Reena R.

I had the chicken taco and the carne asada taco and both were very tasty. My friend and I arrived right before they closed, but they were more than willing to take our order. One of my favorite salsas is salsa verde and it was a bit thicker than some other verdes, but it was good. The tacos were a perfect size for a late night snack. Not too small nor not too big, just right. I look forward to come back here and trying something new off their menu.

Best Mexican food I've ever had in sac! Lived here for two years now, from the bay area. literally was so good that even when I was full i was still eating! I got the super tacos and my boyfriend got the super burrito he loved it! Also i got the horchata which was awesome! I'm super picky with my horchata haha. Definitely a must go to if you've never been !

  • Naz A.

DELICIOUS! Not as good as El Parian (on Watt Avenue), but pretty much the same. I think they are owned by the same person because the menu is almost identical (even in the font and style that it is displayed). El Parian is slightly yummier, to me. However, this place is a close second. If you're looking for yummy Mexican food that isn't very expensive, this is the place. It's casual, so don't get dolled up!

    (4)
  • Ryan F.

Pretty good tacqueria. I've had steak super nachos and a pork super burrito and both were tasty. They don't skimp on the meat and portions are quite generous. Good salsa bar.

  • Tony C.

This place hits the spot for anyone who enjoys Mexican food. They have a large menu with a Variety of different items. Service is quick, order at the register and they bring your food to you. They are open til 3am on Fri-Sat, which is awesome. And they have a nice patio area. They portions are huge. Suggestion if you like Spicy food: Torta Ahogada (Pork Sandwich "drowned" in spicy sauce). It was delicious and $6; enough you feed 2 people. They are more than willing to alter an order for your preference. Go HERE!

  • Doug P.

Not bad is my overall feeling of this place. The inside is really nice and they do have a chip bar which is nice. The customer service was good and my super burrito came out really fast, which im not sure is good or bad, and the burrito was pretty good. Decent sized, not huge but probably big enough, and the contents of the burrito was A-Ok as well. Good flavor the only thing I was dissapointed in was they filled in the burrito with lots of salsa and less meat. Id go again

  • Jenny J.

Always has delicious food. Boyfriend always gets tripas tacos there. For those who don't know, that is tripe and although you may shy away from it, there is no better place to try it for the first time than here! Crispy tripas makes a great taco. Also, I love the lengua (tongue) tacos. The meat was so tender and buttery. We ALWAYS go here for Mexican, and it's saying a lot because my boyfriend is full Mexican. Mexican approved!

  • Carol G.

My coworkers have been raving about this place but I was left unimpressed. The service is fast, and price is decent, but not only was the food not that great but I found what looked to be a pub hair in my salsa from the salsa bar. Was disgusted, Don't plan on going back...

    Delicious Al Pastor

  • Victor A.

The food was delicious! I came here with a friend after we did our Christmas shopping at Cost Plus, love that store! I ordered the regular carne asada burrito and 2 tripas tacos. The tripas were cooked right, crispy and soft and the burrito was oh so flavorful. The chips and salsa are free and unlimited which was nice. The whole place was clean and inviting. I would definitely come back. Oh yeah, shout out to the rude ass filipino girls at the salsa bar, it wasn't that serious, wait your turn!

  • john h.

I have been coming here for years. This is a top ten taqueria in Sacramento. I usually get their BBQ chicken tacos, seafood tostados or regular tostados. Their pastor is excellent. Their torta is above average and the burritos are good, but I think it is pretty hard to have a bad burrito. Their free chips are fresh and the free salsa ranges from slightly above average to average. Their service is lighting fast.

  • Amy A.

The food here is always quick, delicious and abundant! Order at the counter (bring cash) and have a seat 'cause they'll bring it to you. Stay and enjoy the nacho bar and your meal on real plates, and they'll clear 'em out for you when you're finished. One to try: the super taco--plenty of food for me (a desk-sitter) and less than 4 bucks. The super taco is a big pile of deliciousness with two tortillas underneath, which is served with soft corn tortillas, but they let me sub flour. Yum!

  • Elixa S.

This place definitely fits the bill as a great neighborhood joint that is open late. The food is good, the portions are generous, and the staff is very friendly. Oh and lets not forget that the prices are cheap. I always order way too much food, spend way less than any other place, and then enjoy the leftovers. It doesn't seem they do much advertising yet the place is always packed! Well worth the wait though.

  • Tom A.

Fantastic Mexican restaurant, truly a must-visit. I've been heading over to TG almost twice a week since my first visit. The ingredients are fresh, the food comes out quickly and the service is great. I love the constant stream of soccer games being played, as well. Most importantly, the food is reasonably priced and the portions are great. If you haven't been here, give it a shot!

  • Ben G.

I've been here for lunch a few times over the years, and i've heard both on Yelp and from others that it's THE place for Mexican food, but I gotta tell you, I'm not feeling it. The food is good, but it's not "run home and tell everyone how good it is" food. Am I suffering from the over-hype of others? Maybe. Did I have a nice lunch? Yeah. Service? No complaints. But for my money there's other places to go. I give them props for being open late, but I may never end up there at 2 AM, so that cool feature is wasted on me. So 3 stars says "A-OK", and I think that's right. Good food, and that's A-OK.

Taco truck with out the truck. I liked it!

  • Julianna O.

Taqueria Garibaldi scores points with me for smacking handmade tortillas down on the griddle, one after the next, while hungry customers in line leer lustfully. That's the mark of a good taqueria, in my book. Try the taco salad. The soggy tortilla shell that waits beneath of the gooey contents is worth stuffing yourself silly to get to.

    (5)
  • Nai S.

I ordered the shredded chicken quesadilla which is a favorite of mine here. However this time it didn't taste as good as my previous times here. The texture of the chicken was hard. I normally like my chicken soft. I like how they have a mini stand that has chips and all different kind of salsas for you. The good part is that it's free and unlimited. You can go back and eat as many chips & salsa as you would like. The soda machine doesn't dispense as much water at a time which is frustrating. They should really get it fixed

Before coming here, I read the review on Yelp and thought I would try it since I was in the area and craving Mexican food. I would have to say it wasn't the best food I've had. It's not authentic Mexican food. I ordered the chicken salad, and it tasted just ok. Nothing to brag about to my friends. The girl taking my order needed a lesson on customer service. They had their TV's on a soccer game, and she was paying more attention to that than taking my order. She barely gave any eye contact. Actually, I don't think I would come here again.

The burritos here are big, spicy, and ready in thirty seconds. Just like all the best things in life.

Love this place. Authentic Mexican to the max. I love the tripe burrito. It's very crispy and quite filling. The cabeza burritos are pretty good, too.

One word to describe this place: yummy! I come here anytime I'm craving Mexican food and this place always does the trick. Food always comes quickly and its always delicious! I usually get the carnitas burrito, asada nachos or giant quesadilla with asada! The tacos are really good too! They do charge 50 cents to use your debit card so just bring cash!

Best Mexican meal that Ive ever tasted! I the chcken enchiladas and pork Carnitas Super burrito. Meat was well seasoned, fresh vegetables... The Enchiladas were loaded with cheese, sauce, and healthy servings of sides. the business was clean and organized. I was looking for good Mexican food on my first trip to California and Taqueria Garibaldi delivered!

3:00am! 3:00am! three. ayyy. emmm. Checked out this place because it was featured on Yelp as one of Sac's top nacho spots...NO LIES THERE. Maybe I'm biased for giving this place 5 stars because I was super hungry and super ____ at the time. Came after hitting the club, and Garibaldis was CROWDED. at the register: "Super Nachos, please." Daaaang it was delicious. And it soaked up the spirits in my belly. win-win am i coming back here? yep.

We really like this place. My wife first went there and enjoyed a carnitas burrito. Since we have had some really great food there. Prices are about the same as most taquerias. Nice salsa bar, great service. This time we had the 2 taco plate special. My wife had the carnitas tacos and I had 1 fish and 1 cabeza taco. Rice and beans were good too. It's a nice location for us. Cost Plus is next door so my wife likes to go there for a Lindor truffle for dessert. I grab a quick sample coffee. Cheap date!

The BF and I love to hit up this place when we are in the area. He LOVES the carnitas, and yes, it is pretty good. I'm a fan of the asada super burrito, which I can make into two meals easily. Chips and salsa bar are free and good, and despite a few of the other reviews I've seen on here I have been from early lunch to late evening dinner and it's never been a very rough crowd by my standards. And I scare easily. Go. Eat. Be happy.

Ever find yourself the holder of a major eatery secret that you don't want to let out because it might ruin the secret? That's my dilemma with Taqueria Garibaldi. I loooooove Taqueria Garibaldi, but that's not the secret. Jeez, do I tell; do I not??? I can't decide!!! What's not secret is their chile verde.Yum. Chile verde tostada, chile verde dinner, chile verde tacos, chile verde burritos -- all are fabulous. Ditto on the pollo (chicken) and BBQ pork. I want to try the Siete Mares, but haven't yet. A major plus is that they are open until 3 AM (!!!!!!!!!!) on Fridays and Saturdays. I love late night places and this is my new favorite! 3 AM! In Sacramento! Is that worth five stars or what? And now about service: The guy at the register is barely nice until you go in the second time and then you're a regular. After that second time, even the servers treat you like family. OK, here's the secret... my No. 1 "great value" tip of the week. The first time I went there, I ordered a glass of wine. The guy must not know wines because he gave me a HUGE BEER MUG of cold red wine -- LOL! -- for the posted price of $2.95!!! I thought it must be a mistake or maybe they were out of their wines glasses or SOMETHING, right? No. We went in again tonight and same mug, same price, same wine. Wow. Seriously? I love this place. Try it.

Literally the BEST mexican place I've ever eaten at. I recommend the carne asada plate. It was 9.98 but they give a pretty good portition and got me satisfied. The place is very clean and very nicely decorated. The chips bar was very clean and chips were FRESH. Definitely 5 stars for carne asada taste and presentation. They have a lot on the menu for you to choose from. They provided food fast (didn't take more than 5 mins to make the carne asada plate) and it came out so well. I'd definitely come back if i had the chance.

This place is ok if there was nothing else to eat in the area. I think this place is hyped up too much. I found the food to be bland.

Taqueria Garibaldi is a fun place to eat amazing authentic Mexican Food. Being Mexican myself , it is nice sometimes to go out and eat some real Mexican food.. this is the place. I have had the menudo, tacos, tortas, and their famous burritos. When in doubt...order a burrito.... you can never go wrong because they are amazing! On thursday evenings starting at 7ish, they have mariachis while you eat! Plus they have free chips and salsa! what more can you ask for! The only complaint I have is they don't have posole!

  • Todd S.

This place used to be a sushi bar. Then I was delighted as I saw it turn into great Mexican food. My favorite is the Ceviche de camarones. My favorite story about this place happened about a year ago. I was sick and had to drive to Walgreen's at 2am. On my way home, garibaldi was going off. Tons of people. Mariachi. It's more than a restaurant. The people are nice and for such a little place, it attracts big groups. Always busy, but the service is super fast. sometimes I wish it would take longer for the food so I can drink my beer.

  • Angelique H.

Excellent food and service. I love their salsa bar. They mix it up sometimes with unique salsas made from cabbage or cacti. I love their meat selection too.

I went to school in Santa Cruz and taqueria vallarta has the best meat aka "super" (only they didn't call it that, but i'm discovering that most places do) quesadilla. I used to eat them all the time and have been on a search for the next best thing. I think I have found a good match here at Taqueria Garibaldi. Located next to cost-plus on howe avenue, garibaldi has become my staple I need quick food and i'm in this area place. They serve the quesadilla with two flour tortillas, meat and cheese and lettuce and guac and sour cream. I like to get the guac & sour cream on the side, because it can be too much if you don't. They also have fantastic burritos. Apparently their veggie ones are good too as I have been there with a picky vegetarian who proceded to eat the whole thing in one sitting. The atmosphere is also okay, although their chairs are a bit uncomfortable in that, someone else has sat in here and now it slopes in sort of way. But if you like your quesadillas Taqueria Vallarta of Santa Cruz style, then you should check out garibaldi. A nice substitute.

hello everyone. Let me start off by saying that I have had a lot better. I ordered 1 carne asada burrito and 2 tacos of al pastor. yah. the burrito meat was not asada. the stuff in side the burrito didn't mesh together very well. it was very sub par. i didn't even eat 25% of the burrito. the two tacos were OK. the salsa was lacking flavor. the tortillas were soggy from the get cooked and had the uncooked flavor. I don't think I will be going back.

    Great asada taco.

  • Ben R.

Their carne asada super burritos are freaking good and their super nachos too. You will get your food pretty fast too and the prices are reasonable. Friday and Saturdays are open late. I mean really late like 3am.

    (4)
  • stephanie H.

Authentic Mexican food, this is given away by the fact that we are usually the only white people eating there. Lunch can get really busy with a line out the door, but it moves pretty fast. The prices are good and we've never had a problem- and love their Horchata drink!

    (5)
  • Nay C.

I like the al pastor tacos at this taqueria and it's super fast there!

  • Mike C.

That was some damn good food! I've driven past here for a few years now and never stopped by until last night. I was pleasantly surprised. The food seemed very fresh and the salsa bar was awesome, the staff wasn't too friendly but I blame that on how late it was (I was one of the last customers). So all in all I'll surely be back!

    (4)
  • Mariana L.

This place was pretty good when they first opened up but for some reason as soon as house prices dropped so did the amount of meat in their burritos! I hate it when good places get "chinsy" with their ingredients!

    (2)
  • Katy D.

free chips and salsa bar!! what's not to love! yes there are other taquerias that are comparable, but who brings in a mariachi band on tuesdays! love the tacos, nachos, and burritos. carne asada is tasty, but my fav is the carnitas. plus, this place is open for the late night crowd....sweet!

    (4)
  • Samantha Z.

I work just cross street from Taqueria and it soon became my favorite lunch spot when I crave Mexican food. Although Chipotle just down the street, Taqueria is way more authentic and they offer unlimited chips and variety of salsa. I love their burritos. Super chicken or carnitas burrito is my favorite. Give it a try, you would love it too.

  • Erika A.

This is one of the regular places I go weekly with a multitude of friends. We are all big fans of the tacos they sell there, especially the tripa ones. We tend to go after a night of dancing. It used to be the spot on Thursdays when they had mariachi there. Now it's the place to watch the futbol games. My favorite plate is the torta ahogada, like a subway soaked in sauce and filled with meat beans ad onions. They offer very good (looking) and fast service.

    (4)
  • Jenn s.

Pretty darn good! I think we were the only white people in there! My hubby enjoyed the super burrito with bbq pork. I ordered Enchiladas with chicken, rice, beans, etc....they were great and my daughter practically took over my plate. Loved their salsa. Will be back!

  • natalie r.

so, we're a bit bummed with garibaldi's now...the last handful of times we've been there the food has just been good, not fabulous. two times in a row we had major mistakes with our orders and they didn't "fix" anything for us. anyway, we've been going to taqueria guadalaraja instead and liking it-especially their pastor.

If I had to rate this restaurant on my meal, it would most definitely be in the 1 star range. I tried the trio of enchiladas. One chicken, one beef and one cheese. Rice and beans accompanied their friends on the side. First up, the enchiladas. If I had to choose a winner of the three, it would be the beef. Very tasty, and to perfection. However, the chicken was very fatty, and the cheese was just a mess. The worst part about everything, is the red sauce that topped it all. Can we say Las Palmas? This rec hid sauce had to have come straight from the can. Absolutely horrible. The rice was just ok, and the beans were not good. It had a strong chorizo taste. Sounds good, but it seemed to overpower the beans in my opinion. Alas, we get to the good part of the review. This section warrants the two extra stars. My wife, who always seems to order well in unusual settings, hit the nail on the head with her two carnitas tacos. Two corn tortillas, carnitas and pico de gallo. Simple, hearty and cheap. I believe they were less than $2.00 a piece. I think if I were to go back, I would definitely stick with the tacos. However, there are plenty of places in my mind that are far superior. Place was clean, plenty of parking and many, many televisions. I hope you enjoy futbol.

  • Sambo C.

I changed my mind from like 3-4 years ago. This place is definitely one of the best Mex restaurants in sac, to my knowledge. I love their salsa bar, especially the salsa verde and the pico de gallo. The salsa verde is creamy and taste like they added avocado to it. It's like a mixture of guacamole and salsa verde. This is my favorite place to get a burrito. Great portions and ratios of rice, meat, pico, guac, etc. Love their lengua burrito. I think I love anything lengua in general. I find it also pretty cool that they have seafood options for their burritos and tacos.

  • Mariah L.

I love coming here, they have pretty good burritos and the food comes relatively fast. They also offer free chips and salsa, which you can also take to-go. I typically get the carne asada super burrito, and its always turned out good! Parking is in a plaza so it is not hard to find parking.

  • Erick S.

This place is AWESOME! Fresh ingredients and delicious food. Awesome salsa bar with variety of salsas, grilled onions, fried jalapeños, chips, and the best pico de Gallo I've had. I used to think that good mexican food could not be found above Fresno/Bakersfield. This place changed my mind and is now one of my favorites. I am contemplating moving to Sacramento to be near this restaurant.

A must do for tacos. I ALWAYS stop in for lunch when I'm in the area. Their chips and salsa bar rocks. I only eat the tacos but can honestly recommend them all.

  • Mariel I.

I just love this place. I went here a couple weeks ago and it was my second time. This place is a must try the food is so delicious! I ordered the enchiladas plate I loved everything. The downside is that the customer service is horrible! This place has an area where you can get chips and salsa and just bring it to your table while you're waiting for your food. They also have a small bar but no happy hour. I can't wait to go back here. The service isn't horrible to a point I don't want to come back. It just they have no smile and just I don't know seems like they don't want to work there. I know if I owned my own place I wouldn't be having that. Let's say a must try! Hopefully when I go back there will be better service.

Man, I know Yelp likes long reviews but all I can say is YUM!!!!! The street tacos are so delicious! I had 9 and I feel FULL as heck but not guilty for one minute! Carne Asada is so flavorful, tongue is so tender, Al Pastor is so well seasoned and the pollo asada was so rich in grill flavor. I will definitely be back each time I'm in the Sac area. Thanks YELPERS!

YUM YUM YUMMY!!! This place is one of the best around. EVERYTHING literally everything they have is good!!! They have the best shrimp tacos I have ever had. The shrimp is cooked perfectly!!!!- and their Horchata- THE BEST!!! Love it!!!

  • Kathleen B.

This place had a line out the door, and is ridiculously busy! Well worth the wait, and it's completely understandable why there's a constant influx of people. Had the shrimp tacos and everything tasty fresh, authentic and delicious. Will definitely be heading back here more often!

Been a customer for years... Found a dead FLY and a strand of hair in our take out chicken nachos. I called to alert the business and they were rude and disregarded my concerns. VERY disappointed in the food and customer service. This was a go to spot now I'm looking elsewhere.

Garibaldi's is the only Mexican place I can rely on to always have great food that complements the service and the price as well. Located not too far from the mall and right next to Sushi Rocks. First of all, I would like to say that I love the hours that this place is open until on the weekends. 3am on Fridays and Saturdays! Imagine taking a bite into a burrito that has asada, which is grilled right in front of the restaurant, that melts in your mouth like butter, warm beans and rice with the contrasting cold, crunchy lettuce and tomatoes that is topped off with perfectly made guacamole and sour cream. Now imagine that at 230 in the morning on a late Friday night, drunk. Not being sober just makes the food that much better. Then, the next morning you wake up. You have a huge hangover. Where do you go Saturday morning to cure that hangover? Of course. Garibaldi's. For the pozole and micheladas. Bomb. Hangover cured and you get to watch soccer matches there too! There is even a free salsa bar with chips. The variety of salsa there is amazing. I enjoy the cactus and the green salsa the best. Now to talk about the service. It is so unbelievably, ridiculously fast and prompt. Every time I order my usual jumbo burrito, put my number down on the table, get a drink, get all the chips and salsa I need to accompany my meal, and my burrito is already getting cold at the table. Usually its the customer that waits on the food, but the roles have reversed at Garibaldi's. Garibaldi's dishes out great, quality Mexican food and will never let me down. Hands down the best taqueria in Sacramento. Don't forget to get horchata too...

  • Melissa B.

Lately when I've been presented with the decision to turn left to go to Garibaldi's or right to go to Chipotle, I've definitely been turning left!! Everything I've ordered has been delicious! You should really get some tacos. I don't even care which ones you choose because they're all great. The shells are perfect. The shrimp ceviche is pretty darn (that's right, I said darn) tasty. Not life changing, but I'd get definitely it again for a light and refreshing lunch option! Their salsa bar is great. Each one has a unique flavor profile and they're all good! The service is efficient and nice but definitely not too fluffy. I need to try one of their molcajete dishes. Apparently they're amazing and I'm down to get one next time!! You should try it if you haven't already. There's a patio for outdoor dining too! Cheers!!

I really really really like this place! I have return 5 times since my first visit one month ago. Every time a bring a different person to try it and they all love it! I tried the super burritos and the were the best! This last time I tried the Fajitas (shrimp, chicken and steak). When I tell you it was the Best Fajita Plate EVER...I mean that! Meat season just right! I am HOOKED! Food is served really fast! Place is always clean, no matter what time a day you go! Customer service is great too!

Food was great. Came here with some friends on our lunch break (we were on a time crunch). We came on a weekday around 11am-12pm and there were only about two other occupied tables. Food came out pretty fast. Very nice atmosphere and decorations with plenty of room and tables. Some of us got enchiladas, burrito, and burrito bowl. They all said their food tasted great. I got an order of 3 tacos. They were served with my choice of meat (I got steak) and on corn tortillas, which are usually smaller in size. The prices can be a little better compared to other taquerias. The tacos were $1.95 each, whereas many other places price their tacos anywhere from .99 cents to $1.50. The steak was just okay, nothing remarkable; I wish it was more seasoned/flavorful. Besides taking your order at the cashier and bringing out your food, drinks are self serve and salsa bar (with chips and salsa) are also self serve so nothing much to complain about service here.

  • Alyssa S.

This place is incredible. The staff is very nice and their food comes out fast! The taste is very authentic and delicious. Their prices are very reasonable. I have had the chili verde and the super burrito, both of which were amazing. I also love their chips and salsa bar.

O-M-G! Best place ever. The food took me back home. Lobby is very clean. They have salsa bar. And they are always checking making sure is clean and stocked. They have sports Tv. Very layback scenery. Outdoor sitting as well. We ordered their shrimp coctel, coctel mixto, and tacos. So delicious and fresh. Tacos where good too, so good my 2 year old ate two! Lol great place for family. I'm definitely coming back.

Great food! They make it really fast but they got our order wrong instead of the chicken they gave me carnitas and opposite for my boyfriend. Otherwise it wasn't too expensive ... Free Chips and sauces. The grilled onions are the best!

  • Jennifer F.

I used to come here all the time in college, it was cheaper back in the day but for the restaurant type of service I enjoy the come up, order and get served your food without having to wait on people to serve you. Can't complain about the food especially the salsa bar. Tasty!

  • Victor H.

What a great find! I love this place. It's open till 3am and is always packed! I ordered the Torta Ahogado made with tender flavorful pork, vinegar, & onions. The bun is dipped in a housemade red salsa and grilled. Oh so good! It's messy if handling with your hands, but they give you a knife and fork. Still make sure you have plenty of napkins!

    (5)
  • Dusti W.

Tried to order at 1am and they are open until 3am and was told no more orders. I asked why she said they don't! If you're open until 3am you shouldn't stop taking orders before 1am I don't get it

    (1)
  • Amber L.

By far one of my most favorite places to get good, authentic, and amazingly fast Mexican food. If I have to be somewhere, I can order, choose a table, go get my chips and salsa, and usually within a couple of minutes, the food is there. They also have fresh squeezed orange juice, with options for beet, carrot, combinations, and THEN there is Tamarindo, Horchata, Pineapple, and sometimes Cantaloupe. The options are many, the food is good and truly quick, and always delicious. I have been coming for years, and since we have moved recently to the area, we will be here more often! Mucho Gusto!

Food is awesome. Took off stars because our order is often wrong. Check your receipt to be sure special instructions are on their. Check your food to be sure you got what you ordered. Today we ordered a taco with black beans. Came to me with whole. Ordered a taco salad with no rice. Came with rice. Cashier got the beans right but forgot to note no rice. So front and back of the house were not on their A game today.

    (3)
  • T C.

Ok, but not great. A little pricey for Mexican food. My burrito had beans and rice inside it. I don't like it inside. I want it on the plate to the side. I was also hoping for a full service restaurant, not one where you order your food at a window. However, those seem to be harder to find in CA. I probably won't be back.

Best mexican restaurant in town, hands down. I've had the Chilaquiles (omg), burritos, nachos, chile rellenos (awesome), enchiladas, tacos- carnitas are soooo good, never had a bad meal. I moved about 9 months ago so I don't get to eat here as often but I'm going right now. What to get..... So hard to choose

  • Angie V.

Gave 1 star only cuz theres not an option for zero. Awful experience and one of the worst management ever here. Came in today to pay alot of money only to get our order wrong which they changed but were mad to give us the difference in money. Then my bf had chicken bones in his burrito and when we complained to the manager about wanting all out money back and none of their food he said no. The cooks were in the back laughing like it was sooo funny. I feel if u do not speak spanish then they discriminate against u right off the back. We were treated lik shiit from the start and when we told them they got our order wrong the manager told us no they didnt that it was our fault for ordering wrong. I will never come here again...

  • Sanjeev B.

Hands down the best taqueria in town. This place is open really late on Friday and Saturday nights. Sometimes, less is more, so I will not say too much about this place as it has a ton of reviews already. If you want some good, quality Mexican food, hit up Garibaldi's.

  • Casey T.

I'm always very happy with my food from here. I love Mexican food and this place is the only place I go to, aside from a place in Lincoln. The portions are very generous and the flavor is super tasty! (:

Hands down the best burritos in Sacramento. Would come here all the time late night growing up, and continue to recommend it to anybody looking for some amazing Mexican food when they're in Sac.

  • Kory R.

Stopped in for lunch. We didn't realize they only accept CASH or DEBIT (with a 50 cent fee) but thank goodness we all had either. I ordered the Pollo Asado Super Burrito with a small drink. The burrito came out really quick and was ginormous! It was pretty tasty but the reason for 3 stars vs 4 is because my burrito didn't have much meat and was overloaded with rice! The chips and salsa bar was a nice touch and everything was fresh and well stocked! Overall, it was good but I like a little more meat in my burrito!

    (3)
  • Miesha T.

Great place the prices are very affordable. Good service food comes right to you in less than 10mins. I would recommend this place. First time coming here I do plan to come back real soon!

This place is good but not better than La Fiesta on Alhambra. Their salsa bar can be good one day and really weak the next day. I like their tacos "al vapor" that they sell on weekends

  • Sue T.

This is my first visit. ... but probably not my last. The crispy chorizo taco was so good! The beans also had nice flavor, but lack salt. I would like to see them expand their salsa bar. All in all, pretty good.

Got crispy tacos, excellent. I really liked the fresh salsa bar its a great addition to the taco. My friend got the super burrito. And loved it! We will come back again!

I've only been here 3 times so I've only tried their carne asada wet burrito and their breakfast chilequiles with egg. This last time I got their chilequiles, I called ahead to order them because they are usually busy, but when I got there they were not ready. They forgot to start my order so I had to wait for them to make it. It seemed like the cook rushed my order because the cheese was not melted and the eggs were runny. I also chewed on an egg shell. The first time I got chilequiles they tasted significantly better than the 2nd time. This place is always busy. It seems to be a pretty popular place. I will go back when they are not so busy and try something different. Their micheladas look delicious so I definitely want to try one of those. The prices are a little over priced but they do give you a lot of food. The staff is also not the friendliest. They do not greet you or smile. They always seem to be in a rush or a bad mood.

This place is the bomb.com on the weekends the best menudo ever served with homemade tortillas. I've tried alot of there plates and everything is really tasty. This place is probably one of the best taquerias in Sacramento i've been to. Staff is great and your food comes to you very quickly. Their salsa bar is pretty awesome as well. Definitely recommend it.

If you're looking for a Mexican spot that gets the job done, this is definitely it. I've had their Carne Asada tacos and burritos before, their Carnitas is mediocre and tasteless. It's walking distance from my apartment and this was the first place I tried out when I moved here 2.5 years ago. They have a salsa bar that's pretty tasty and who doesn't like chips and salsa?? Their menu is extensive and has great choices and a full stocked bar. Lots of seating! Plus they're open late for those who like to eat after 9.

Best place for quesadilla and AL pastor, the server is nice and quick. 3 tv for you sports fan. Their food is really authentic and reasonable price. Definitely coming here again. Friday and Saturday they close at 3AM!

I went in for lunch due to the convenience. I was shopping next door at World Market and had to get back to work so I decided to walk across the parking lot to grab up some Mexican food. It was about 12:15pm on a Thursday, and pretty occupied with a steady flow of customers coming in and going out. It appeared there several groups of 3 to 5 people coming in together, I'm guessing they were co-workers from surrounding offices, which I took as a good sign. You walk up, place your order from the menu above the heads of the cashiers, take a number, and seat yourself. As I've said in another review, I usually gauge a Mexican spot by it's carnitas and tortillas; so I ordered the regular burrito with carnitas, easy rice, and no salsa to go. **No salsa you ask? Yes, I'm a bit of a control freak-I like to be the one to control how much, and the kind of salsa I have with each bite; plus, this place had a pretty decent salsa bar-clean, neat, and orderly. My order came out really fast, the guy handed me my order and kindly thanked me. I chose packet up to different salsas, a little bag of chips m, and I was out the door. When I got back to the office I was ready to dig in. The burrito was still hot and as I took my first bite I was happy to say, it was just as I ordered. Two things I was bummed about: 1.) they had whole beans rather than those yummy unhealthy, lardy refried beans. I should be thanking them for helping out my arteries... But really? Give me the bad, yummy stuff, that's why I ordered Carnitas! 2.) the carnitas were a little dry, a little skimpy, and under-seasoned... But then, maybe a little more healthier since they were light on the salt? However, when I think carnitas, I'm thinking greasy, tender with crispy parts, salty, yummy goodness-super unhealthy! Please add more carnitas to the burrito, I should be tasting the carnitas up front in every bite, not in every other or every two bites! Other than that, I thought it was quite decent and I will totally give them another try. From other reviews I've read they seem to be quite good and I really can't gauge it since Ive only had one thing on their menu. Once return I will revise this review.

Came here because i work down the street. Ordered just a regular burrito half lengua(tongue) and half carne asada (steak)... Really good i was impressed... I usually take the beans out and sub lettuce or more rice, but today i kept them in. Not being a fan of beans, i must say, their beans are really good and prepared really well... They also serve food with a chilli sauce which was on point... Next time im on lunch i am definately coming back to try their menudo... Which i couldnt stop staring at

So I haven't eaten my ham & egg breakfast burrito YET. But the menu says $4.75 for breakfast burrito YET my receipt says $5.10+ tax I didn't order anything extra. Just like to know the REAL price ahead of ordering.

Family and I were staying at a local hotel and wanted Mexican food. We did not want anything fancy or expensive but something more than Taco Bell. Went on Yelp and saw that this restaurant was close so decided to try it. We were pleasantly surprised with our experience. Food was great! Service was good and food was served lightning fast. Our family of four ate for about $36 including a large Michelada for me and horchatas for everyone else. Next time we are in town and in the area we will definitely be back. I travel for work and use Yelp a lot to find places to eat. I normally don't post reviews good or bad but since my dining experience here was so nice I thought I would take the time to post a deserved good review.

By far my favorite Taqueria. I'll miss this restaurant tremendously when I move back to the Bay Area.

With some late night munchies raging, an impromptu stop here was in order. The al pastor tacos are legit - well above average seasoning and loaded up nicely with toppings. On the other hand, my carne asada burrito was pretty lackluster. No char to speak of on the steak and on the smaller side overall. Service is solid and the place is spacious, though it's worth noting that it's cash or debit card (with a surcharge) only.

This taqueria is so bomb. It's right by my house and so I eat there all to often. Never disappoints! A consistently awesome place to eat

If you want to eat some bomb Mexican food you need to come here. The burritos are delicious! Filled with love and the meat is juicy. I tried the nachos and the are yummy as well. I personally don't like the guac in my burrito but this place is legit. I tried the wet burrito with the red sauce and I must say the burrito tastes even better with the sauce. They have a wide variety of Food and a nice salad bar with salsa and chips, jalapeños, lemon, lime. This is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Sacramento. You will love this place.

I'm new to the Sacramento area, and I was looking for a place to eat, after shopping at Cost Plus World Market next door. I stopped and ordered 2 soft carne asada tacos. Man on man, they were delicious!! Flavorful, juicy and yummy. And like other reviewers said, they offer free chips and various salsas. The only thing I didn't like was the strong smell of fish inside the restaurant. But not a problem; I sat at a table outside :o)

Great authentic Mexican food! I highly recommend tostada mixta or tostada de ceviche. My brother in law is a big fan of tacos al pastor. Very clean and affordable food.

The Garibaldi Taqueria has a number of things that make it an above-average taqueria: the food, the service, the decor, etc. But you could say that about a lot of places in town. What really impressed me? They're open 'till 3am on Friday and Saturday. Sacramento is in dire need of more late-night eateries, and I've found another one to fill the void. The menu is excellent and diverse; no posole, menudo or albondegas, but they do serve breakfast all day (chorizo y heuvos!) and they have a variety of items that expands on the usual fare. The folks working there are super-friendly, and the decor is really pleasant. Love the murals on the walls.

  • Mashood S.

Love this place! Guy at the cashier is always nice to me and is usually smiling! I love the food. I also love how the chips and salsa are free. It's actually something good for us and them as well because I know a lot of people also look forward to the free chips! Free is good! I usually get a wet super shrimp burrito and I absolutely love it. You can never go wrong with a burrito from here.

  • Hugo S.

Decent food overall. Went with my family. Didn't like how cooks didn't send all of our food at the same time. Each plate was about 7 minutes after the other even though two plates were exactly the same. Food was ok. The guac on our carne asada plates was too old to be served.

  • Evan E.

Solid. Its not a "must visit" place from the times I have been there, but if you are in the area its worth it to stop by. Portions are good, prices are reasonable, food isn't anything to rave about, but I have never been disappointed either.

Lengua burrito is excellent! Beef and BBQ pork quesadillas are delectable. Beef taco is superb. Self service salsa/chips bar is clean and very fresh! Nice ambience outside in the evening(patio tables)! Would be 5 stars if waitress could be more friendly and smile more!

  • Christina P.

The Food is ok, but the problem is that I Placed a to go and Hugo who took my order was very rude and was was hurrying me off the phone. I understand you maybe busy but it's no reason to treat a customer that way. He needs to dealt and I hope management will.

First time here and we will definitely be back. Food is very good! What kills most taquerias for me is the horrible quality tortillas. This place makes their own right in front of you and they are delicious!

They have adult beverages aka: Alcohol +5 stars Stylish & CLEAN interior: +5 stars Self serve Salsa Bar: +4 Carne Asada Super Burrito: +3 stars HOTTEST Jalapenos EVER: +5 stars Speed of food being prepared: +5 stars Tried to hit the Giant Orange as based on the hours listed of operation they should have been open however they weren't as we traveled all the way across town for them so on our way back home feeling grouchy, disgruntled and hungry we saw this place and swung in for dinner. Carne Asada Super Burritos x2 @ $6.10 each were the poison of the night and they were true super burritos in size and served up to us within 5 minutes or less after we ordered. And I only ate half of mine saving the other half for lunch the following day and it reheated remarkably well too with a good 1/2 cup of sour cream to drown it in from home too.... Yummy! I had one hell of a long work day and was wanting some delicious adult elixir to quench that thirst so was thrilled to see that they served booze so I went with a Coors light which was icy cold and delicious along side the burrito. As always burrito was ordered minus the rice but was full of freshly prepared, perfectly cooked and tender pinto beans, cheese, sour cream and asada. So far one of the better asada burritos I've had on my search for the best carne asada burrito in Sac. The meat isn't grilled which is how I prefer it as it gives it so much more flavor verses the boiled/simmered type like they serve here... I did dislike however that they did not attempt nor offer at all to make up for the void of space within the burrito that the rice would have filled and should have as there was entirely too much tortilla if that makes any sense at all; next time I will specifically request them to however with either extra beans or maybe even a lil extra meat and beans and see if they attempt to charge for it or not which they shouldn't. I know how cheap rice is to purchase and make however that is irrelevant. Self refill on the soda's too which I love as I have a thing for fountain drinks and love the self serve option so you don't have to depend on an employee to get your drink on. I LOVE LOVE LOVE flaming hot food and was blown away as soon as I sunk my teeth into the first of what would be many pickled jalapenos from their salsa bar as immediately my entire mouth lit up with the waves of mouth numbing heat as the pickled juice and jalapeno flesh scorched it...... IT was amazing and the highlight of the entire meal for me actually... No joke it was as my mouth, lips, throat and stomach were toasty warm for a solid hour after the meal was done... Heaven on earth........

DELICIOUS. This will always be my favorite Mexican food in the area. They're busy all day, even at 2 AM (they're open til 3 on Fridays and Saturdays) but it's totally understandable. Pretty authentic in my opinion, and the cheese enchiladas and the tortas are AWESOME. If you're looking for good Mexican in the area THIS is the place!

I'm have a limited time for lunch, I ordered a shrimp burrito to go. Got back to work and ready to chow down on my burrito and it was carnitas. I was so hungry that I decided to eat it and half way thru the burrito I chose to stop bc it didn't taste good. I'm not gonna go back there again.

Burrito wasn't "jumbo" I clearly asked for a wet burrito with no tomato. Not wet.. Still got tomato. There was some kind of fight going on in the restroom police showed up. Only reason I'd come back is cause I work across the street..

Love this place!!! My boyfriend and I come here all the time to get take out because it is pretty close to our house. He usually doesn't care for Mexican food and I love it, so I am happy that we found a place that he actually wants to go more than once every three months! I usually get a burrito and they are always super tasty, and he loves the nachos, wet burritos, and the carne asada fries! Pretty much everything we have gotten here is really good. And they are SUPER fast when you order which is always nice! Also, the restaurant is very clean- which is important to me!

Carne asada burritos are my absolute favorite, last place I had one they had to much beans and rice. Here at Taqueria Garibaldi my carne asada burrito had the perfect combination of meat, guacamole, rice and beans. Smaller than some burritos but I like that didn't feel overwhelmed. The salsa bar is good too, great combo of green and red salsas. Great service our food came out very quick, and everyone was very friendly!

I've been here many times because for the most part I enjoyed the food (except for today because my order wasn't correct) and it's close to my home so it's convenient. My problem with this place is the cold "I don't give a damn" attitude from the guy who is always taking orders. He doesn't even say hello he just stares at you until you say what you want. He has horrible customer service skills and I went there about 45 minutes ago and his attitude was less than pleasing. There are too many Mexican food restaurants around so I have no problem not coming here anymore. Too bad when pretty good food is ruined by bad attitudes.

This place is pretty close to where I live and I love burritos so it made sense to check this place out. It's nearby a really commercial area, lots of shopping plazas. The entrance is not along the street though, you have to go around to one of the sides (perpendicular to the street) to enter (don't stand at the wrong door like I did, I probably freaked out some families as I tried really violently to open the wrong door). Anywho, I got pretty excited when I walked in and saw the salsa bar. There was a deep red one with chunks of garlic *very excited*. I got the carne asada super burrito, chopped beef with rice, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, pinto beans and hot sauce. I also grabbed a few containers of the deep red salsa. The burrito was a decent size (don't worry, no where near the size of a Chipotle burrito) and the beef was decent but not very tender. The red salsa helped a lot. Since there are better burrito places in Sacramento, I most likely will not return to this place.

The food was...good? It had good flavors and stuff, but I just have a hunch that I may die of ekoli later this evening... I saw how they store their food and I just don't know if it is safe... I'm not a health inspector by any means, but I do think that there should be certain kitchen ettiquette when your guests can see the kitchen... I will leave it at that. I may return...

Taqueria Garibaldi is one of the best Mexican food restaurants in Sacramento hands down! I've been here several times with friends and I've never been disappointed in the service or food I received. The restaurant is small but has a lot of great energy and they always soccer games on TV. Okay that's a dead giveaway...it's a Mexican restaurant there is always soccer on. I like the FREE chips and salsa (I just wanted to add that they are FREE) and the ambience of the place is like Chipotle infused with Taco Bell. It's very Mex-i-Hip...if that makes any sense. SERVICE: The service at Garibaldi's is always friendly and fast. You'll go to the salsa bar and walk back to your table and BOOM! Your food is already there. How do they do that? FOOD: OMG! The food here is incredible. I love their Ceviche Tostada, Shrimp Super Burrito, and the Horchata is heaven! I go here at least twice a month, shoot even twice in one day. I know...that's a little too much but I can't help it. The food is really that good. Their salsa bar is legit! Cucumber Salsa, what?! I put that salsa on everything from burrito's, ceviche, and even in my Horchata. OK? I wouldn't put it in my Horchata but I can't say I wasn't tempted. You have to try this place for yourself to be the judge. LOCATION: Garibaldi's isn't in a terrible location (I think it's the only one in Sacramento) but if I were the owners, I would think about moving the location (if they grew to a larger restaurant) down Howe Avenue about half a mile to the old TGIF location. That would be a great spot! You'll never have to worry about parking as there are always open spaces. And I've never seen a cleaner bathroom at a restaurant then at this place. I mean it's like you're at the Hyatt of something the bathroom is so nice and clean. OVERALL: Garibaldi's has a special place in my heart...I mean stomach. I love coming here to stuff my face in some authentic Mexican cuisine every now and then. My only complaint about this place is the prices. They're pretty expensive for a Taqueria. I guess you pay for what you get...and what you get is delicious food that fills up your tummy and makes your breathe smell like Pico de Gallo.

I came here with my girlfriend on Thanksgiving day and was not pleased with the service. All we ordered were two chicken tacos and it took them nearly ten or 15 minutes just to make them. And a family of three ordered after us and they received their food before us! The family were of Mexican descent and both me and my girlfriend are not Mexican so I was starting to think that you only receive good service if you are Mexican. The food was good but me and my girlfriend are not coming back. They are racist towards their customers, especially to me and my girlfriend.

  • Julia P.

I enjoyed their food and ambiance - however, thought the portions were a little small (I had the taco plate combo) for the price - however, probably healthier that way. I liked their salsa bar (lots of choices) and noticed that the employees were constantly cleaning and keeping that area nice and stocked. and I thought it was cool that they had a fresh juice bar (carrot, orange, etc.) instead of just the usual soda and drink (makes it a little more upscale), kinda cool since I haven't seen that in a mexican place lately. (though I didn't order juice) So probably healthier than the average mexican food place. Lots of Mexican people eating there on a Friday night - which I think is a good sign for authentic food. I ordered carry out and asked it I could have chips & salsa (it's serve yourself..) while waiting. Wow, super fast service. It seems like I waited 60 sec for my order on a Friday night. I will be back!! Would be a good place for a group since - pretty fast, they seemed organized and on top of their game (service wise) and I think it would be easy to each individually order and get food lickity-split! The tacos I ordered were super fresh, however, a little spicy for me (I don't like super spicy food - I'm used to more Tex Mex - which I don't think this place is..). Next time I will probably ask for salsa on the side, or ask if there's a way to make them a little more mild.

So... is everyone who works here attractive or is it just the way things have worked out during my visits? They are also really friendly, which I guess matters more since people don't go to restaurants to look at the staff (unless it's Hooters or something). I have been here a few times and so far it's been pretty good. I really like the street tacos. They seem small sitting on the plate, but they are loaded with flavor. They get kind of messy and juice dribbles everywhere, so hold them over your chips! I am trying to think of what else to say about this place. I should mention that it's spacious, has a salsa bar, is open late, and has a lot of refreshments... booze and non-booze alike. Mostly, though, my mind just keeps wandering back to the tacos and my stomach starts to growl.

Omg!!! Where have you been all my life?! I ordered the jumbo burrito with carne asada and wet. There was a bit of a line when I got here but wasnt to bad. YUM! A solid place to grab a quick Mexican meal. Taqueria Garibaldi has so much to offer, from burritos, to sopes, to ceviche! The BF & I came in at 9:30pm on a Sat night 30 minutes before they closed & ordered two Al Pastro super burritos ($6.10 each). After taking our order with a smile, the food came out in less than 10 minutes, just enough time to hit up the magnificent chips & salsa bar! You can take a baggie of chips & little containers of salsa & marinated peppers to-go so you won't miss out on the full burrito eating experience at home! The burritos had great flavor & they weren't too greasy, but truly hit the spot after a day of fun under the Sacramento heat. My only complaint is that the burritos are about 50% rice, which soaks up all the flavor of the burrito so it tastes good, but I could definitely go for more meat, cheese, & guacamole! Also, CASH OR DEBIT only!

I don't understand the good reviews for this place. This is a place for people who have never had good Mexican food. This is a classic suburban strip mall Mexican restaurant; with the addition of a "salsa bar" with some tepid cooked salsas. The place was clean and the staff was nice but that's all I will give this place. All I wanted was a quesadilla with an order of rice and beans (queue the Suicidal Tendencies) but this place couldn't even deliver on that simple dish. The beans tasted canned and the quesadilla was not grilled on the flat top but probably microwaved. Hubby got the carnitas nachos and the pork tasted more like canine than pig. Combined with the volume of this place (i.e. loud), I think I'd only recommend this place for people with kids--as other small fries seemed to run around this place freely.

Ok, so you want some good Mexican food? Well this place is the best hands down. Myself and a couple of my co-workers usually go at least once a week, sometimes twice. Great prices for the portions you receive and the quickest service anywhere...even when it's busy and it usually is, the line goes out the door at lunch.

If you're hungry and in the mood for great food Garibald's won't let you down! Anything you order on this menu will please your tastebuds; and your order will be up within 5mins or less after you order. It doesn't get much better than that. Love this place, have been going here for years. Oh, and it's inexpensive and open late!

I was already not having a good day and for you to tell me what I ordered when I know I ordered something else is just downright RUDE. I asked a question about what kind of cheese comes on the nachos and he replied. I then decided to go with the quesadilla. The receipt comes to me and I'm like I ordered a quesadilla, and instead of simply changing it, he told me "no, that's what you ordered." He made such a huge fuss about it that someone who was better at English had to come over and help out. The cashier was still going on about how I ordered nachos. I just wanted to make sure I was getting meat on my nachos, because I asked for a no meat quesadilla and was charged for nachos with meat. So yeah, this experience pretty much killed my dining here. I don't know if I'd go back. Given this is CA and there and so many Mexican food eateries here, I give places one chance to completely blow it.

Oh my lord, this place is awesome! This is authentic Mexican food, and so, so good. We had the carnitas burrito, and it was delicious all by itself. Throw in some of the spicy salsa, and you've got a little bit of nirvana. Can't wait to come back and try other things, because I had food envy watching plates being delivered to the people around me.

I have been going here almost weekly for 5 years. The ceviche tostadas are a really good deal. My favorite is the tripe taco/buritto, however the texture of it is inconsistent. Go super if you are getting a burrito, it makes it significantly better. The bbq chicken is probably the healthiest meat on the menu, but it is still pretty good. The the taco salad isn't really a salad, its the contents of a super burrito with lettuce put inside a tortilla bowl. Food overall is a little heavy so be prepared for that.

came in here for a late night snack. was a lil disappointed that there weren't any cocktails available since it was 130 in the morning but had the fish ceviche tostada and it was ok. my husband had got the chile verde burrito. it was a pretty decent size. I had got some asada nachos for my dad, that he loved. my overall experience was good. I'll definitely have to come earlier in the day to try their seafood cocktail.

best mexican food in the arden area as far as i am concerned. the avocado salsa served at the complimentary salsa bar is awesome. during the lunch hour it is too mild but it seems another cook prepares it for the dinner crowd and it is light years better and way spicier. i usually get two items here, the fish super burrito and the super carne asada nachos with fresh sliced jalapenos, not the pickled stuff. both dishes are awesome, full of flavor and there is a lot of food to eat. not sure about the claim from the previous reviewer that the jalapenos were the hottest, i find them to be about middle of the road, neither spicy nor mild.

I love burritos..a lot. like A LOT. Since moving to Sac from SF i've been burrito deprived and searched for some good places and I saw the reviews of this place and thought i'd give it a try..I regret it. The kitchen was't that busy at all but here's how my order turned out: I ordered a super carne asada burrito to go...for 7$ (35cent fee for using a debit card) and it was the tiniest super burrito i've ever ordered. One end of the burrito was warm and the other end was cold? Normal? I think not. The first bite i took was literally a bite of sour cream..wtf. Continuing on, the meat was dry and flavorless, no salsa at all, and it was just all bad. By the time i was a little half way done, BAM there was the salsa..no wonder why half the friggin burrito was cold. Maybe they just don't know how to evenly distribute the ingredients? ugh. The only good thing about this place is the tortilla chips bar. The tortilla chips are all warm, ready to be scooped into a bag or a little box container with cooled salsas on the side. *sigh, my burrito cravings is simply not satisfied here.

Pretty darn good Mexican food, served VERY fast = a solid lunch spot. First off, let me note the unlimited chips and fresh salsa. I guess I didn't realize that not every place does that! Once I had to pay for a chip refill elsewhere, I realized how awesome this actually is. Not that you actually end up eating a ton of chips here, though. The food comes out FAST. I've had several different meats here. Several varieties of burrito. Numerous plates of nachos. And I've still yet to be disappointed. Good, flavorful meat (with a tiny bit too much fat sometimes, admittedly) and huge portions usually have me full and satisfied, if a bit sleepy. The place is pretty much always packed at lunch. Try it, and you might see why.

Carne Asada fries were good. The meat was seasoned well but there wasn't much of it. Service was fast and the salsas are different, not spicy.

Food quality that you receive here is definitely above the others. Going into this restaurant at first lets be honest I was sceptical. But due to their average prices and above the rest taste in quality I find myself coming back here. Enchiladas, quesaillas, and super nachos are good choices to pick from if it's your first time coming around. But you probably cant go wrong with any of their items on the menu. With the optional seating that they offer you will never have problems finding a place to sit and eat there even with a groups of 4+. Since seating is offered inside and out. They also offer free chips and salsa while you wait for yoyt food to be d delivered to you, which is great to munch on and help fight that appetite. When it comes to beverages that compliment your entrees there are various options from Fountain drinks which include free refills and beers as well as Mexican specialty drinks. This is a great place for lunch or dinner with occasions of meeting friends or having a meal with family.

I have not been to this restaurant for a few years. When I did go, several times, I found the food to be very good. My issue was with the cold attitude I received from the order taker. I felt like I was not welcome there, which made for a bummer of a dinner. Judging from the scattering of recent comments about the customer service, I will continue to avoid this place

Ok... lemme break it down. : ) Customer Service: 5/5 The place does good work. Friendly but not fake. Which is something that I can always appreciate. Also, staff picks up your plates once you are done. They won't come refilling your water or anything... but that's really not an expectation at a place like this. Atmosphere: 4/5 I like it, they keep this place pretty clean and it has a nice set up. Lots of parking and water misters outside that spray on hot days. Plenty of seating inside and tvs to watch some soccer while you wait for your food. Food: 4/5 I love their vegetarian burrito. One thing this place has that El Parian does not is the option for black beans. The breakfast burrito isn't quite as yummy as some others I've had... but it wasn't bad either. I think my heart was just missing potatoes too much. Prior to coming here... I thought all breakfast burritos had potatoes in them... apparently that is not the case. The salsa bar here is better than most. The guacamole sauce mixed with some their hot sauce is the way to go. And instead of putting it into those little cups and trying to dip my chips, I usually pour the salsa directly onto my chips. But don't use their chip trays as giant dipping containers... it's wasteful and staff will not appreciate it. They have a sign up regarding this... and it makes sense to me. Conclusion: 4/5 I'm not sure if Taqueria Garibaldi has any connection to the El Parian restaurants... but the food and salsa bar are very similar. I like that this place is open late and serves yummy food that is relatively inexpensive. Long live Taqueria Garibaldi's. I know there is a Chipotle just across the street. If you are given a choice between the two... skip Chipotle. TLDR: Good, clean, fast, cheap, yummy Mexican food. But not perfect.

I've been wanting to check this spot out for a while. It's near where I live and it always pops up first on my Yelp and some of ex Co-workers use to recommend it. I tried 2 tacos (street style). 1 was carne asada the other chicken. I loved the carne asada one but not the chicken. They added some type of salsa to the chicken, which I wasn't feeling. My parents were the one's we went here to eat and they said the customer service was good and they enjoyed their tacos as well but nothing compared to Chandos tacos. I won't knock this place out completely I still would like to eat here again and try other things off the menu. When I do so I'll update my review.

Open until 3am on Friday and Saturday night!! Cheap Delicious Clean What more do you want from a Mexican restaurant? They also have a wide variety of things. Plus fresh squeezed juices and a big chip / salsa bar.

I live in the area and often crave burritos, so one day when the craving hit I decided to try this place out of sheer convenience. Not the best decision I've ever made. I got a chicken burrito with pretty much everything on it. Mainly I found the meat to be dry and bland which kind of ruined the whole thing for me. I'm sure there are other things on the menu that are fine but this burrito really disappointed me.

I was excited to try a new taqueria, hoping to find one around our house to fulfill our taco needs. I was hoping Taqueria Garibaldi would be it but I need to give it another try first. Atmosphere: Casual, relaxed with soccer playing on the screens. Family friendly. Service: Fast, efficient, polite, nice. Food: I got the veggie burrito wet style. It was an impressive sight, a burrito slathered in red sauce with cheese melted on top. Unfortunately it didn't taste as good as it looked. There was just not very much flavor to the whole thing. There was a giant glob of cold shredded cheese in the burrito and it tasted pretty bland. BF got the fish tacos. He prefers fried fish in the tacos, they were grilled here. He thought the tacos were very good and gave it five stars. There were giant vats of what looked to be agua fresca by the cashier and the menu looked promising. I will definitely be back to try something else. Maybe the veggie burrito was just a miss? Overall: Not decided yet, but would recommend the fish tacos because I know my BF has good taste. ;)

This is one of my favorite places to come to for Mexican food. It's cheap, delicious, open late, and located conveniently in the Arden area, and not too far of a drive from Sac State. The place is pretty clean, and I never have trouble finding a table. Their salsa and chip bar is really good. I love the guacamole sauce they have. My boyfriend and I got pretty full off sharing a plate once, so you really do get your money's worth here. The burritos are great too. The service here is pretty good. They're really good at cleaning the tables promptly after customers leave, which I liked seeing.

I really used to like this place, however; over the last year their service and quality has really declined. I've been wanting to write this review for a long time but I keep giving taqueria garibaldi chances to redeem themselves, but to no avail. I always order a super burrito with no meat or salsa. One incident I will not forget happened with the guy who seems to be the usual person working the register at night, he's a little larger and seemed muscular in build with a slight Spanish accent (I'm providing such a detailed description of him so you know to be wary of him if he's ringing up your order). I go in and ask for a super burrito with no meat and salsa. He says ok. I wait for my burrito and can't wait to get home and eat it (I always get it to go). I get home, bite into the damn thing and THERE'S LETTUCE AND SALSA. Maybe not a big deal but when your really hungry and just want some good food and your order is messed up it can be pretty upsetting at the time. Anywho, I call the place because I felt I was very clear in stating my order and wanted to figure out how my order was messed up. The same guy who took my order answered the phone. I told him I had just come in and ordered a super burrito with no meat or salsa but for some reason there was lettuce in my burrito and some other stuff I hadn't ordered. He says oh yes I remember you ordered a vegetarian burrito. I was like, uh what no I ordered a super burrito with no meat or salsa. He continues to say, yes that's right a vegetarian burrito. I again said, no I did NOT order a vegetarian burrito, I never said that. He then said, when you ask for no meat that means you want a vegetarian burrito. Since when does asking for no meat mean I want lettuce instead? And since when are you a mind reader? I was really upset with him telling me I ordered something I never ordered and yet at the same time he acknowledged that I asked for a super burrito without meat or salsa; it made no sense. And not once during that conversation did he apologize for messing up my order. I've seen this guy at the register every time I've come in since this incident so I'm sure he's regularly working the register. Both prior to this experience AND EVERY SINGLE TIME I'VE BEEN THERE SINCE, THE CHEESE IN MY BURRITO IS NEVER MELTED ALL THE WAY. In the world of Mexican food, nothing upsets me more than unmelted cheese and hard rice. All in all, I do not recommend this establishment to anyone. Rude service and subpar quality in food, there must be better Mexican food in Sac.

Ordered a super burrito with some flautas, food was amazing! The burrito had just the right combo of rice, beans, meat and cheese. There are a variety of salsas with chips. Great service ! The waiter brought out our food right away . Definitely coming here again !

Love the Chile Verde and the rice and beans are perfectly seasoned. The chips and salsa are very good and they have a melon fresh juice that is so refreshing! Everything tastes very authentic and I love going here!

I wish I could say the service here made up for their undistinguished food but with exception of the El Pastor taco, Garibaldi left me unimpressed and I certainly hope the abrupt and unpleasant service they showed isn't common practice here. Perhaps I came at the wrong time but I certainly didn't experience the kind of food or service everyone seems to overly rave about here. A co-worker and I showed up midweek around noon-ish. When we walked in I was impressed with how decorative the setting was and how clean the place seemed to be for a strip-mall taqueria. It was pretty crowded and from my visit it appears to be a spot where folks can come to enjoy their favorite soccer match as people were cheering and clapping while they enjoyed their cold beers and tacos. Then I step up to place my order and after asking a question about a menu item, I received an eye-rolling response and immediately got the feeling that I must be inconveniencing him as there were clearly other things he'd rather be doing. Either way, I ordered a Pastor and Carne Asada taco (street style) and also a crunchy chicken taco and a crunchy Carne Asada taco. The salsa bar was clean and the chips were certainly fresh but the pico de gallo was pretty bland and it was obvious the tomato's weren't ripe. Both the pastor meat and the carne asada meat on the soft tacos were loaded with flavor and both were pretty darn good and easily the highlight of my lunch here. The crunchy tacos? Well, these things were a huge disappointment and there was nothing crunchy about them. They were smothered in chopped lettuce and sour cream with a wet and soggy shell, the chicken lacked any flavor and whatever sauce was put on top of these should be left off in my opinion. If I return I'll probably stick with the street tacos and perhaps try one of their burritos that looked good but I sure hope the service isn't as discomforting as it was during this visit. Usually i leave the food reviews to Shay F. but the Torta Ahogada I had here was delicious enough to get me off my lazy butt and write a review, because YOU MUST EAT ONE! I'm in Sacramento on business, and searching around the hotel for something tasty to eat brought me here. I started with the super nachos with al pastor - very tasty, and a huge portion. That should have been more than enough, but I remembered reading a review on the torta, and I had just enough room in my stomach and enough curiosity to get back up to the register and order one (with pork). I had the full intention of just eating two bites to satisfy my curiosity and taking the rest back to the hotel for a late night snack. Instead, I took a bite, and just kept eating and eating until I ate the whole thing. I'm a fatty. oh well. if you're in the area, definitely swing by!

I dont usually write mean reviews but after my visit today at Garibaldi its inevitable. The food here is gross The service here is horible. I found a dead cockroach in my taco it was the most nastiest thing thats happened to me in my life I went to tell the cashier up front and he started yelling at me saying its not there fault I was so shocked I felt like trash will never come back to this junk again

Mexican beer, mixed with soccer games on flat screens, I honestly couldn't ask for more out of a Mexican restaurant. I love the enchiladas and carnitas tacos!! Fresh ingredients, friendly staff, fast service and reasonably priced food puts this restaurant on the top of my list of places to frequent. While I eat out more often that I like, because let's face it I enjoy cooking, I'm guilty of frequenting this Taqueria and I suggest you give it a try. The patio will prove to be a spot to enjoy my meal even on those hot summer days.

I always have the hardest time deciding what to get at this place. My first choice is always tacos because they make the good taco truck tacos, you all know the ones, meat on a little corn tortilla soaked through with juices (or lard whatever its Mexican food) and topped with a little salsa or hot sauce, love those things. Then there is the super burrito which is super in both size and taste. All the best stuff in it and no lettuce. I am completely opposed to lettuce in a burrito fill it with rice and beans if you need a filler but never lettuce dammit. Sorry back to the topic. Get it wet and it goes frome pretty good to Damn thats tasty! And then the super nachos. Who in the world doesn't love nachos, yeah I know its Tex Mex and not authentic but I'm white and could give a crap(does Yelp edit out expletive's?). They also have free chips and salsa which I cant get enough of. My only complaints about Garibaldi are 1) It isn't the friendliest place in the dining world, the guys that work the register will pretty much never smile or say Hi which is a little odd I mean I am going to give them money in just a few moments. And 2) I think its a little over priced but then I always come back so they must have the price right. This is good authentic Mexican food, one of the best I've had in Sac.

I do not like to be mean, but this place was terrible. I ordered 2 crispy tacos with chicken. The tacos were dripping with water from too much lettuce and vegetables that were probably pulled out of an ice bath 10 seconds earlier. The chicken was just bad, bulk chicken that reminded me of my high school cafeteria. My wife ordered a tostada salad; and we agreed that this place loves to serve food that is supposed to be crispy as a soggy mess. The service was pretty slow for a taqueria, but at least the decor was alright.

When they give you free Chips and Salsas you know you're in for a treat. One of the better Taquerias in Sacramento. Huge burritos and traditional tacos. Their service is SUPER fast, most of the time they beat me to the table while I'm loading up on chips. I often hit them up if I'm in a rush and feel like fast-food without the fast-food flavor. some days the free guacamole is awesome, other days it is so-so. Either way, it beats Chipotle hands down.

I just tried this place like a month ago and I've been there like 4 times since. The food is not cheap but when it's that good, you can get away with charging a premium. I've had the torta ahogada, it was yummy and quite spicy. I've had carnitas, carne asada, and al pastor tacos. All are very yummy. The salsa and chips are a nice bonus too. They have a mural of Jalisco, Mexico on the wall inside and the food definitely reminds me of the food in Jalisco/Guadalajara. I don't usually like to pay 12 bucks for some tacos and a soda, but I keep doing it because the food is so good.

This place is expensive and the food is mediocre. I wasn't too impressed with my vegetarian burrito, and can only liken the experience to eating a salt stick. I'm not sure what was in the burrito besides lettuce and beans- I was afraid of a sodium overdose and didn't get very far into the burrito. The beef tacos were marginally better. And although it may not seem like a big deal, this is just for those that are contemplating scoring a free meal under the kids eat free special. In order to get the deal, the child needs to be within eye sight. I don't know which eye the guy was using since he saw us walking in together...into a nearly empty restaurant. I'm pretty sure I can tell what eye contact looks like. I guess the whole eyesight rule makes sense but wouldn't it be a wonderful world where people chose to believe in honesty rather than distrust. Alas, the world is full of scumbags trying to score a free kids meal with no kid. Well, at least now I know what it's like to be interrogated at a tacqueria. Geez, I thought I was going to have to sacrifice my niece.

We paid way too much for the mediocre tacos in a city with several better options. I got the buche because I had such a great experience with it elsewhere, and it was a bit over-crispy and lacking in flavor. The special of the day was the menudo, which was pretty good, but the $7.50 "small" bowl was enough to feed 5 people. A $3 small would have been much more manageable. The chip bar wasn't remarkable. My pineapple agua fresca was delicious though.

Came for lunch before hitting Cost Plus next door. Place was packed, and mostly Hispanic customers, which I take to be a good sign. (I can say that - I am Hispanic.) Soccer playing on the wide-screen TVs. You order at the counter. Had the chicken taco. Husband had the chicken tostada. Taco was very small, and kinda sad looking, but was packed with meat, and the salsa on top was great. Rice is like what my Mom used to make - but slightly less flavor. Husband thought his tostada was OK. Lettuce and tomato on top - not quite as fresh as it could have been. Based on 2 visits, I would say good basic Mexican food, reasonably priced.

This place has a deliciously hot salsa bar, much spicier than most. I had the super pollo asado burrito. I also had a pina agua fresca, which was a tad watery, lacking an intense fruity flavor. Overall the meal was very tasty and the meat was crispy and juicy, if a bit too salty. I look forward to trying the seafood items, that I greedily observed others eating. A coworker saw my facebook posting and mentioned that it is not kid friendly in the evening, apparently it gets a little rough. That is second hand, so use your own judgment.

I go here alot, and some if the reviews people are posting lead me to think one thing. They do not know authentic Mexican food and think Dos Coyotes is good(ugh). My wife is Mexican and I am well versed to good Mexican and bad Mexican food. The first thing is not all Mexican food is the same. It varies upon region, so that can have a big factor on it. But, this place is very very good. The super burrito is priced well and for a buck more ya make it wet. There torta sandwhiches are in my top 3 for places I eat at. The food is always hot and fast and with good portions.the salsa is awesome, I love their tomitillo green sauce and the chips are always fresh. I would not take someones review heartinfly if they refer to Dos Coyotes and Chipotle as "authentic or good" Mexican food. That like saying round table is Italian pizza.:-(

I can't get enough of their Carnitas Super Burrito. Way nicer than Chipotle next door and 2 dollars cheaper as well. Their chips and green salsa are great too. Cash only though, or 50 cents extra for debit, which is a little annoying.

My first time here and not my last. The food was fresh and not greasy at all. My dish was chicken enchiladas. The chicken was not dry and I was expecting it. the sauce was great! The prices are great. The kids meals were big and filling! My husband said his burrito could have used more meat because there was too much other stuff in it. The restaurant was rather loud because it echoed but they do have lots of seating outside.

Three of us ate at Taqueria Garibaldi Tuesday night (Apr. 9), and the food was just okay. I had the shredded chicken burrito, and it was lukewarm. In our party of 3 people, 2 were handicapped, and had medical service dogs. The server at first asked us to put the dogs outside, but we politely declined, citing the need for the dogs to remain with their human partners. We were still seated and waiting for our food, and the server came back, this time requesting that we move to a table in the rear, citing "dog hair" as the reason. We complied, but the whole experience was embarrassing and hurtful, and I would hesitate to return there, with or without my friends and their dogs. The 2-star rating is for the food, but the experience was definitely in the 0-star category.

Love this place. First discovered it's sister shop in Roseville, then found it on Howe Ave. I always give five stars when the quality, quantity and price are all great. I only like authentic, fresh mexican food made by mexicans. They can feakin cook, and they love sharing good food. Amen I love the burritos, and tamale plates. They are also open quite late on the weekends. They have everything you want. You know its good when most the customers are of the same nationality. ;) What can I say mexicans love good mexican food, and good on 'em.

It was pretty damn expensive for a little Mexican place. (NEG) There's outdoor seating, good for a nice day. (POS) The portions were HUGE. (POS) My "wimpy" Kid's Burrito was quite yummy, even for being just bean/cheese. (POS) The inside was quite small. (NEITHER.) Did I mention it was expensive? (NEG)

Four words: Barbecue Chicken Saucy Burrito. Mother of Christ. If you don't know bout' Taqueria Garibaldi, get to knowing. Quickly. I'll go as far as to say that this is, hands down, the absolute best taqueria in Sacramento. Well, the best I've had, and your opinion sucks. So yeah. But seriously, their chips and salsa, their amazing food, their authentic qualities, their service with a smile, their ice cold Mexican beer selection, their outdoor patio... a must for true foodies looking to escape the ideas that all restaurants are better in Midtown.

Oh.... My.... Gawd....... Becky, look at her BUTT after she ate that whole friggin' veggie wet burrito to herself! Ahhh yes....I did consume an ENTIRE veggie wet burrito to myself this past week..and have spent diligent hours at the gym undoing the damage...but oh damn was it ever worth it. I went to TG first with my sister during the Christmas season, in the midst of a rainstorm that felt more like bibi shotgun pellets than raindrops. We were starving, and my sister recommended we split the Camarones Rancheros..which is basically soft tortillas filled with the shrimp in spicy sauce. I think for this 1 entree and 2 drinks it was only $10 and we were stuffed. The plate came with the shrimp in the sauce, lettuce, guac, sour cream, rice and these cheesy beans that were amazing. On the side we got enough flour tortillas so that we EACH got 3 to ourselves. The second time was this week, and was deemed the burrito incident(see first paragraph). I got the wet veggie burrito, which is a gigantic burrito of rice beans, guac and sour, smothered with enchilada sauce and cheese. I think it was $5 or 6? Totally worth the price and will get you through 2 meals. The food is just delicious and tastes authentic...not tex mexy like a couple of the popular chains in the area. Before I'd gone here, I totally dug Chipotle..which is still good but does not even compare to Taqueria Garibaldi. Have I mentioned the chips and salsa bar?? Very impressive! There are chips(of course...), but in addition there is avo salsa which is really good and fresh, their pico is the best I've had and the tomatoes are firm and not mushy which I love, lime wedges, radishes, a couple of additional salsas I haven't tried yet, and they have these HOT peppers and carrot slices that will kick your ass. My husband paid me $5 to eat one of the larger peppers. What a sucker..he knows I love spicy food..but I couldn't resist. :) So, go to TG...stuff yourselves, leave fat and happy..you will NOT be disappointed! :)

I went here about 5 months ago based on Yelpers' reviews. I could not have disagreed more with the consensus. My friend and I both ordered the carne asada super burrito and both were salty. Mine had a little something extra though: grit (and no, not the edible kind). The crunch of sand and the 1/8" long pebble made me lose my appetite immediately. I was tempted to take a picture of the pebble, but you'll just have to take my word for it. Some may say that my experience here was a fluke, but honestly even if it weren't for the grit, I would not return here because the food was overly seasoned and lacked zing. What a major disappointment.

Whenever I try a new Mexican food restaurant, I order the cheese enchiladas. My theory is that if they can produce this simple dish, then the rest of their food is worth trying. The cheese enchiladas here were flavorless. The chips were bland. The salsa was the highlight of the meal because I kept saying in my mind, "saaalsa (like on Seinfeld)." My friend tasted my enchilada dish and immediately wrinkled her nose. However, she ordered the beef taco salad and enjoyed it. With so many other options for lunch, you can do much better.

BEST MEXICAN FOOD EVER. AND THEY ARE OPEN SUPER LATE!! SOMETHING GOOD TO SOAK UP THE ALCOHOL FROM THOSE LATE NIGHTS AT THE CLUB DRINKING TOO MUCH AND SMASHIN TO SALSA MUSIC. the employee's dont know much english but they are nice and very helpful they come serve you and everything. i always get there carne asada tacos and a shrimp cocktail. the super quesadilla is good without the salad that normally comes in it.

GRADE INFLATION ENDS NOW! I missed my turn for Chipotle, so I thought I'd try this place because the parking lot was close to full. It is prominently perched on Howe, in front of the Cost Plus World Market. I ordered the two-enchilada plate and no beverage, but it still cost me over 9 bucks. A drink would have put me well over 10. That's a lot to pay for a mediocre Mexican meal. I asked for 1 beef and 1 chicken enchilada. My plate was smothered in gooey cheese, most of which I scraped off into a congealed puddle. The key ingredient in any enchilada is the sauce, but this watery-looking stuff had no discernable taste whatsoever. The chicken was decent, but the beef was awful. An enchilada should have shredded beef, or ground beef in a pinch, but never carne asada. Yet carne asada is what I got, and the quality of the meat was just slightly better than old tire rubber. A few of the pieces were somewhat tasty, but others I had to spit out because they were just rind. Blech. My plate came with rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, and a pile of shredded lettuce topped by a lonely tomato slice. The salsa bar was decent, with unlimited self-serve chips, but that really was the "highlight." With much better and more affordable options just a few blocks away (Dos Coyotes in Arden Fair; Chipotle just down the street), it's a wonder this place manages to stay in business. I guess the steady stream of locals that trickle in just don't know any better? I'd probably rate this two-stars if the service was friendly and the place was clean and nicely decorated. But it wasn't.

I was glad to find Garibaldi open on a Sunday. The place was kind of a dirty mess. My carne asada was too salty and I was not a fan of the flour tortillas used. In a city with so many Mexican places, I will likely not make it back here.

Me and my boyfriend went in after reading some good reviews, and we were not let down. We ordered the super nachos with carne asada (even though the carne asada fries were pretty tempting). Along with some carne asada tacos. The nachos were pretty damn good with all the toppings and the extra salsa that we added from the salsa bar. We will be returning! Oh, and fresh juices made here too!

Really? Only 3.5 stars on Yelp? This place has the best Mexican food in the area. The tacos are always right on. The al pastor is our favorite and has a wonderfully intense grilled flavor. The tostada de caramones (shrimp tostada) features fresh shrimp and avocado on top of a delicious fried corn tortilla. Taco and I also had the birria (goat stew) a few times and it had a wonderful "stewed" flavor like it had been braised for many hours. The agua fresca is refreshing and there is a large selection of salsas which all taste very fresh. Once we also ordered the fried fish and it was very good (although not our favorite.)

I like the salsa bar - there's a variety of salsas & vegetables to choose from. The chips were fresh. I had the two cheese enchilada dinner. There was enough food for two people! The beans were tasty and the enchiladas had good flavor. They carry a good selection of Jarritos. I counted three TVs showing fútbol. It was pricier than your average Mexican dive ($25 for two), but I'd definitely go there again!

"ohmygodohmygodohmygod" Thats normally whats going through my head when i see my food walking up to me. I know whats in store. My tongue gets so 'cited that it wants to leap from my mouth and assault the food directly. This is good stuff. The Al Pastor super burrito and/or giant quesadilla is something of true legend for my brother and I. The portions are massive, and the price is right for the food they send your way. I got the shrimp ranchero and wasnt too impressed. Stick to the burritos, quesadillas, and nachos. Is it 'true' mexican food? Nah. Is it probably the most goddamn tasty burrito place in Sac? Yup.

. . . this place is 'tha bizness' . . . everything is fresh and made to order . . . their salsa is the siht and also they show soccer games . . . its slightly better than la festival in that they have a nice set up inside with several widescreens and the bathrooms here are a little cleaner . . . you definitely have to sit down and eat when you get food from here . . .

This place is very authentic and delicious! Whenever, I'm in the mood for some good Mexican food I always think of Garibaldi. I would have to say that many other Mexicans agree w/me because there are always other Mexicans eating here. For me, that's usually a pretty good sign that a restaurant is authentic. They have the best carnitas around and an amazing salsa/chip bar.

I too love this place. Tasty authentic tacos, yummy salsa bar, birria that honey likes, and sweet aqua fresca - what's not to like? Recently I've taken to ordering burritos without the tortilla. Something I learned from a friend who is reducing her gluten intake. Me, I was just trying to reduce calories. Turns out they still gave me enough rice, beans, meat, and salsa for 2 lunches!! What a deal!

This place used to be one of my normal stops. Price was good for being a step above fast food. Favorite thing to order is the chili verde super quesadilla (not the grande). However, my most recent visit resulted in me not returning. 3 out of the 8 people in the group of us that went, came down with food poisoning. The common denominator was the green thin guac that is in the salsa bar (which means it had not been changed/refreshed). IF you are thinking about going just stay away from the salsa bar.

Not that it didn't taste home made it just didn't wow me. But its a good stand by, hits the spot, but didn't knock my socks off.

Aii Mami! It smells good in here. It seems like all the white people order Super burritos, but the Mexican guys that come here covered in paint on their lunch breaks know what time it is. Their tables are filled with huge plates of oysters on the half, whole fish smothered in some fiery-looking red sauce, and cocktels de camarrones. The shrimp tostada is outta sight, with huge slices of avocado on top. Get that. Fast service, A+.

Terrible food. Worst guacamole in the world. Will not return

There absolutely no excuse for going to the Chipotle across the way. THe burritos are solid, the tortas and sopes are excellent, but it's really the seafood entrees that are the way to go here. The camerones tostada and the fried fish dish are the best things on the menu.

Excellent Mexican food! Good prices! Good portions! I highly recommend Taqueria Garibaldi to any Mexican food lover. I used to work nearby there and it went under my radar for a year or two before someone introduced me to it and I was totally impressed! The giant quesadilla there is basically like a grilled giant burrito. You get so much for a good price and the food tastes very good! I think the location threw me off from it before, but don't be discouraged by that. The atmosphere inside is nice and the service staff works hard together to provide good service and food. They are VERY quick with getting orders out, be it carry-out or dine-in. A GREAT place to go to for lunch, if you can. They are actually also open quite late if you want to go there for dinner and a beer or something. They have live mariachi music there on certain nights, which I thought was cool. I wouldn't consider it the type of place to take someone on a relaxed dinner date to, but it would be a good place to take friends, family, or significant others if you are looking for a good quick meal. I highly recommend it!

my first time, and probably my last. i stopped here for a laptop lunch during the week and ordered a burrito "wet" ? because i love the steak ranchero at dos but did not go there and paid $1.50 for a bit of sauce and cheese. whatever. i'm not the type of person to cry about a couple of bucks (or $11, in this case) so i sat down with some corn chips and pico de gallo and began some research for a project for school on my computer and waited for my food, which came relatively soon. i was not prepared for pinto beans which i find disgusting, nor was i prepared for what tasted almost like s-a-l-a-d d-r-e-s-s-i-n-g, not sour cream, in the burrito with a huge ammount of iceburg lettuce. i guess i came here because i couldn't bear the thought of another chipotle. the meat in the burrito was so thin and miniscule that i had to pick at it with a fork. we're not talking cubes of steak here at ALL. this is not a hole in the wall they've got coke soda fountains and flat screen tv's on the walls i didn't like being charged $.50 to use my card. i read the other reviews of this place first and, as i expected, it was a bunch of raves. sorry. i'm not the queen of england er anything but i'm not simply wowed by a bunch of sodium and fatty meat to please my palette, cuz it won't. mediocre. not disgusting, but very mediocre.

I knew this place was good the second i walked in, Why? because I was the only white person in there. and according to my Friend Marcus, that means its good. And the smell reminded me of when I go to Mexico. This place hands down is my favorite Mexican place to eat at. The food here is so traditional and everything is delicious. The place is always, always packed with people eating here. The best part is they have a chips and salsa bar that you can help yourself to once you have placed your order. And I have no sooner placed my order and I turn around to get chips and my food has already come. I love it. I can get out of here and be full after only spending about $6 on two tacos, and their tacos come fully loaded with guacamole, sour cream, cheese, lettuce, and salsa. Yummm I love this place!

Taqueria Garibaldi is one of my favorite taco joints in this great city. I don't know if it's the loud atmosphere or the interesting taco choices or the salsas or what - all I'm sure of is that it makes me happier then almost any local joint. I've been a lot, but I'll detail my most recent visit here. First: good God, it was cold in there last week! Someone had propped the door open and all that icy Arctic air was streaming grimly inside. I hauled over to the chips and salsa bar and quickly ladled out some of their delicious and authentic salsa. I especially like what appears to be the roasted tomato and chili verde, and the creamy avocado. The chips are also pretty good, as they appear to be made on premises - none of that bagged or mealy crap that passes for edible other places. I ordered the ceviche de camarones, and two regular tacos - one cabeza, one chorizo, with a side of guacamole. My mother opted for a hard-shell pollo de asado taco, with beans and rice. The food arrived quickly, and I started on the tacos, which are served on corn tortillas with chopped onion and cilantro. I'd never had cabeza before and was pleasantly surprised. Although yes, it is indeed "head", it had a fatty and beefy texture that reminded me of the marrow inside an osso bucco bone. Combined with some of the (merely okay) guacamole and a little bit of salsa, it was an interesting and extremely filling combination. The chorizo was also extremely impressive - greasy, pungent, and incredibly bad for you, just the way chorizo should be. I wolfed these down and started on the ceviche, which was served on a hard tostada with a little bit of mayo and some apparantly ketchup-derived sauce. It was tasty, especially with a bit of sliced avocado, and had the fresh and lime-infused snap I've come to expect from good ceviche. My mom wasn't thrilled with the pollo asado, claiming it was "hard" and "tasteless", and I was inclined to agree with her - a bit overcooked. The rice and beans were perfectly good renditions, but nothing to write home, although these common sides rarely are. I do enjoy the little salsa and lettuce salad served on the side of the combination plates. It's a nice touch. Garibaldi is a great choice for authentic, casual, and inexpensive Mexican food, as long as you're okay with ever-playing soccer games and occasional blasts of freezing air. It's my favorite choice for the "real thing" in the area.

This is the way Mexican food is supposed to be. I have not found any comparable place in Sacramento and I'd be hard pressed to do so.

If you read my original review, you can see that this was my favorite taqueria in town. "Was" is the key word. I went late night on Friday, and as usual, the place was packed with the Latino club crowd from down the street. It's been months since I've been there, but I just knew they would satisfy my Mexican food craving. I ordered the regular nachos w/ carne asada ($5.15), thinking the "super" nachos would be way too much food. Well, damn, I was wrong! They brought me what looked like a serving size of nachos supreme from Taco Bell. What the hell is this? Where's the big piled on plate of nachos? I was so disappointed, not only with the quantity but the quality went downhill too. My friend ordered the tacos tripa. She said it was overcooked and the tortillas tasted stale. It didn't settle very well in her tummy later that evening. I didn't get sick, but extremely disappointed. Even if this was an off night, I won't be going back!

My friend Mike and I came here last night to get some food, and I guess we must have shown up early, because it wasn't quite packed to the rafters when we got there. I ordered the biggest size carne asada burrito they had, and a drink. The prices were reasonable and their menu is pretty big and filled with all kinds of stuff you won't find at taco bell, such as menudo (which is a good sign that at least your in a semi-authentic mexican food establishment). Anyway, I went over to the salsa bar to fill up those little plastic trays immediately after giving the guy my order, and the burrito was already on the table ready to be devoured before I was even done deciding which spicy salsa wanted to give me hiccups for the rest of the night. Whoever they have back there making these burrito's is fast as hell!. Anyway, the food was awesome and the crowd that was in there makes me wish I would have stayed awake in Spanish class back in the day because it made ease-dropping on other patrons conversations near impossible (kidding). I guess they must get a pretty rowdy crowd in there though later on ( we went at about 1:30 am) because they had three security guards inside the restaurant and one standing outside. That's four more security guards I saw there than the number I had seen at black Friday at Walmart, which means either someone probably got stabbed there recently or that rent a cops are naturally attracted to any place that serves free chips and salsa. Either way, I would definitely consider buying a bowl of menudo here and eating it down the street at Chipotle just to say I have.

This place was alright. I ordered the super burrito with steak and black beans which tasted fresh! I had half of it and loved it but when I ate the other half I had enough of it. It says it comes guacamole but there was 'barely' any or none =[ Quite a decent place though.

I love the carnitas on everything they make. It has a nice crisp to it. I've had it on the nachos, taco salads and burritos.

Great place to kick back and watch some soccer on the weekend. (I'm not much of a soccer fan) I am however a fan of carnitas and they were top notch over here. I got a carnitas super burrito which was Chipotle+ sized and a challenge for a big guy like me to finish. The carnitas were crispy and flavorful and the green salsa was excellent on chips as well as the burrito. This is a good authentic Mexican spot in the Arden - Howe area and the price ua right. I would definitely visit again. Chipotle and Dos Coyotes are my other favorites in the area.

Carnitas wet burrito... Just thinking about that carnitas wet burrito makes my mouth water and my heart skip a beat. Oh, yes. There are dozens of other items on the menu but I have never even bothered to look in their direction because of the awesomeness that is the carnitas wet burrito. -1 star for lackluster chips and salsa, but they are free.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
