I love/hate this place. The cocktails are good but the service is questionable (and totally unreliable). Sometimes service is ok but, on most occasions, it sucks. Getting seated is sketchy and getting your order taken is the luck of the draw. I don't think they are good at anticipating their staffing needs. One evening, I think it was a Wednesday, they only had one waitress for the whole place. She was so overworked she was on the edge of tears. My advice: Just sit at the bar, that's where it's at. I highly recommend the Moscow Mule and the bottomless mimosa brunch (if you are lucky enough to get a table).

Went to the Pour House last night for dinner. Got there on a Saturday night around 6:30 and didn't have to wait for a table for two. We loved the place instantly: lots of dark wood, a gorgeous bar, and lots of scotch and whiskey. I had the Whiskey Fig after following the advice of other Yelpers, sprung for the 12-year Glenfiddich, and was happy I did. The drink is perfect. My friend and I shared the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes and sausage gravy. The chicken was moist and crispy on the outside. We also had the bacon mac & cheese, which he liked more than I did. It was good but didn't blow my socks off. We also split an oyster Po' Boy with sweet potato fries. Make sure to ask for the spicy ketchup (ketchup mixed with Sriracha). That dish was off the hook! I'd come back just for that sandwich and fries. My friend asked the waitress to choose his next beer, and he wasn't disappointed. I'll definitely go back and have already recommended the place to friends.

Last night I was there around 1:15 am, we got a couple old fashions and went to the back patio. About 3 minutes later, puffed up dude walks out and repeatedly tells us we need to leave. Like, it's urgent. So we walk through the weird hookah den and into the main bar to simply finish our cocktails, and instead we were aggressively screamed at by a bartender to "get the fuck out of here" as if we had caused some trouble. We literally had our drink made 5 minutes prior. On a Saturday night at 1:20 am, give me a break. I'm a longtime server here in Sac and after that treatment I will definitely not be recommending this place to midtowners. Let me also add this place is tacky and feels more like a hollow funhouse marketing on a gimmick. Places like this remind me of why Sacramento isn't taken seriously.

Really great eggs Benedict's! Also, while you may be hesitant about chicken and waffles, theirs is superb. And you can't beat bottomless mimosas. The only place so far that I will actually drink mimosas. Siting outside in the back is nice and relaxing. It's fun when the train comes by too: you're offered $2 jack Daniels train shots. Fun place to hang out with friends.

Sacramento seemingly has an ever-increasing variety of microbreweries and tap houses, and a few months ago the Pour House joined the mix. It offers a unique idea . . . taps on the table or rather in four booths. What a concept, right? I'd driven by the place a few times, but I hadn't stopped because it looked rather ominous from the outside. What a mistake I made. The interior is wonderfully bespoke, from the old wood walls and behind-the-bar motif to the equally stylish lightning fixtures and beveled glass windows. And for beer enthusiasts, there's no better place in town . . . . for those who drink PBR to those who prefer, limited-supply, high-end craft beers. In fact, that's one of the best things about the Pour House. Yes, there are beers at $15 a pint and there are beers at $3 a pint. On my initial recent visit with a friend we sat at a table (one of the special tap booths the next time, four sure), and each of use had two pints from the extensive on-tap list (one porter, one IPA each). We also both ordered fish tacos. The entree included three good-sized tacos (fish grilled, not fried). The tacos came with rice (nice seasoning). We concluded with couldn't think of a better match with our beer. But I'm also certain we'll find an equally good choice next time, though. We also appreciated the service. Our young male server had a smile on his face, was polite and genuinely seemed to be enjoying his job. That's all anyone really wants from a server, right? I'm not a big Sunday brunch person, but the menu did look appealing with reasonable prices. There's also a "killer" Bloody Mary as a house specialty, which seems like another perfectly good reason to visit the Tap House again soon.

I went to Pour house on a Friday night at 11:30 p.m. This was a same night I had just gone to LowBrau so I had little expectations of Pour house. For the last couple of years I had been losing faith in cool bars to go to but Pour House restored some of that. I was the DD so I didn't get any drinks so I can't comment on the drink quality or the prices. They had a live band there which results in a +1. There was ample seating for everyone in the place and they had a small back area with another bar and additional seating. I think what I liked most about the place was the crowd there... another big +1. People were approachable, dbag level was minimal, and the atmosphere was made for fun.

Only downfall to this place is the seating. Two of us came for the 49ers game this past Saturday. We were able to sit down just fine but the 4-person table next to us decided to sit 6 people instead of sitting at one of the booths, so they were rather close. There was no other available seats at that point though, otherwise we would have moved. If you're going to watch a game get there early, there's only 1 TV and not too much bar space. The food was DELICIOUS though. I asked what the server recommended and she suggested the pulled pork because its smoked for 10 hours. I agreed, it comes with coleslaw and BBQ sauce on it. I'm not a huge coleslaw fan because of all the mayonnaise, but this slaw wasn't overpowering at all and I ate it all. I also got sweet potato fries which were seasoned and yummy. My friend got the tri-tip which was also very good, it came with fried onion straws and then she added the BBQ sauce to it. Both were great sandwiches. Definitely be back, plus their chalk board said bottomless beer & mimosas on Sat/Sun with a brunch entree, will most likely be taking advantage of that deal!

This place is my go to on Friday nights, Saturdays, Monday nights, Wednesday nights, Sunday mornings, and Thursday afternoons! The bartenders and servers are always friendly, and there's a huge whisky and beer selection. It doesn't hurt that it's within stumbling distance from my house, and I had an awesome birthday celebration there for which they were very helpful and tolerant. On my most recent adventure there I tried the chicken strips and sweet potato fries. I love me some food, and have to say, the chicken strips were delicious... food of the gods. I washed it down with a sour beer (because I'm fancy like that) and macked on some hunies. Just kidding, my super-hot girlfriend was there with me and we talked about how great the chicken was for a while and then were on our way back to the house to "catch some Zzzs."

This pub has a fun feel to it; reminds me of the gold rush era. Its not just a bar the food they have to offer are restaurant quality. Good comfort foods and great sweet potato fries. They offer signature drinks as well as cheap beer and expensive whiskies. Gets packed on the weekends and whenever they have special events. Sometimes can be tricky getting a table. The servers are friendly and try to seat you as quickly as they can, even if it means sitting at the bar at times. Reserve the tap tables and hope they are working.

This place has the potential to be the coolest spot on the grid to have a micro brew. There are some things that need more work before this will happen. I've been in here twice, once for brunch & once for dinner. Brunch here is incredible. The food is good and between the bottles and taps there are plenty of excellent beers to choose from. The Denver omelet was on hits and not very pricey. Dinner time however was not so nice. The place was packed in front and there's another bar area in the back that doesn't get used. I don't like being jammed together like that for no reason. The burgers were pricey at $14 for a bacon swiss burger with fries. Then they forgot the bacon. And the ranch for my fries. And our silverware and napkins. And catsup & mustard. Thursday night football was on so I decided a second bottle of ale was in order seeing that I had a DD willing to hang out. That's when the service got REALLY slow. The ambience is wonderful however. It's nice without feeling too stuffy and the staff dresses properly which is a plus. Considering how new the place is I found it rather disturbing that part of the ceiling fell on the floor about 10 feet away from me. Not sure if I'm returning and I got the feeling on the dinner shift I won't be missed.

This is my new favorite place to go! I am in love with the staff, I loved the food, the atmosphere is great, and even great background music. The prices are really good too. Love love love. Ditching my usual go-to restaurant for eats and hanging out for the pour house. :D

This place is awesome!!! The food is incredible especially the Mac and cheese and the fried chicken. There are beer and whiskey taps at the tables so you can pour your own. Great rustic west atmosphere and super friendly staff. I highly recommend !!

I can't really rate the food or drink, because I was unable to obtain service. We walked in and were informed that there were no tables available so we sat at the bar. The bartender made eye contact with us at least five times and did not offer a menu. After about ten minutes he said he woudl be right with us. Five minutes later, we decided it was not worth our time. We left the bar and waited for our friend outside. We saw three other people walk in and sit where we were. They were offered menus right away and served. We went down the street to Benny's and received EXCELLENT service. If you want to keep your buzz, don't go here.

We were so bummed out at the crappy service tonight. We have always had a great time in the past but tonight the AC was not working well so we figured a drink would take our minds off the heat to sit for well over 15 min before we said forget it. The place was not as crowded as it has been in the past. So when we walked outside we noticed that it was much cooler outside the staff at the door were surprised when we told them that we did not even get a drink during the time we were inside and asked who our waiter was. Sorry we will reconsider other options before coming back.

I like this place overall. However it is really small and they have "Community Seating" if you don't know what that means, it means they have a few really large tables and they seat multiple parties at them. We showed up around 6:30 on a thursday and the place was packed. We had about a 30 min wait, which was fine because we were waiting for 1 more and we got drinks at the bar meanwhile. When our 3rd arrived we werent seated for a little while, which i thought was odd because they had a 2 top and a booth open.. when they came and got us they asked if the 2 top with an added chair would be ok, I asked if we could have the empty booth next to it instead.. to which i was told the booths are reserved for parties of 4 or more; then we watched as 12 people pilled into the booth after we were seated. I am not exaggerating.. about 4 adult men 4 large adult women and a baby in a car seat all tried to cram in there... finally after some of them decided to just stand around the booth, they came and told them that they had a bigger table in the back for them... bottomline plan the number of your party accordingly.. or be prepared to sit at the community table. The food was good, I had the pulled pork with sweet potato fries(which were really great) and the other 2 with me had the tri-tip sandwiches.. they also enjoyed their food. We also had bacon mac and cheese as appetizers and the grilled cheese sticks; which is basically a grilled cheese sandwich cut into pieces. They were also both good. The prices are reasonable for the quality i think. the ambiance is a little on the hipster side, but not annoyingly so.. I would like to try this place again, maybe on a fri or saturday night just for a drink or two, when i am not starving and want to have dinner. Its more of a bar then grill i would say. the decor is nice, however for us that were loyal patrons of the old Whiskey Wild it looks basically the same with tables and chairs and a freshly stained bar top on which patrons used to dance. I did ask if there was patio seating available and i was told I was welcome to go back there but there was no server. I am not sure what that means as I did not venture back there.

This poor poor poor little Pour House. Nothing will last here me thinks. Interior is decorated very nicely but I don't think that'll be enough to save it. Didn't like the entire let's rip off everything that's annoying about Shady Lady vibe either. Bartender was cool but every male that worked in there seemed to put off an "I'm WAY too mother fucking cool to be here" I mean can't we all see their "oldschool" inspired clothes and figure it out that we really shouldn't even be bothering them unless we are "ONE OF THEM"? BLAH. cheap enough wells though, I was REALLY scared there for a minute. NOT stront and the way they cut limes and lemons makes it look "pretty" but trying to get any of that luscious citrus into your drink? NO GO. Last of all, Coast to coast as their food?

Once a month, a few friends and I get together for Brunch (the BBB girls) Today we went to the Pour house. Lured by the promise of Bloody Mary's (winner of Best in California and 2nd best in the country) - and yeah they're good! The Pour House came up trumps. The food was good, the drinks and drink top ups very attentive. Our server, Katie was a sweet heart. As with other times, with 6 or 7 of us in attendance each time, we do want to chat some, last month we were very disappointed to be asked to vacate our table at the Fox and Goose as we were already mid way through leaving, which was rude and unnecessary. No such problem at the Pour House.... nice and relaxed. The only comment in the negative from the BBB girls was the Hollandaise was a little vinegary, but mine was fine on my Salmon Benedict. I like the other reviewers comment of a walking coffee line. That might be a good idea, as there are no brunch reservations and they open at 10am

I had the pleasure of coming here for the first time for a Yelp event, during which I became quite enamored with this place. I heard through the grapevine about the unique individual beer taps for each table and was fortunate enough to snag a booth with some friends. This is a dangerous set up my friends (and one I welcome with open arms)! Aside from the beers on tap, the selection in general is INCREDIBLE! One of the few places in town to carry my new favorite (Track 7!). They even have their own ginger mix which was top notch. The food was on par as well. I got a catfish po boy which was incredibly satisfying and our table shared a couple orders of the sweet potato fries. I kid you not when multiple people stated that these were the best sweet potato fries they've ever had. Aside from the good drinks and eats, I also enjoyed the atmosphere. Love the lighting and layout of the place. It isn't very big though so I could see it getting pretty crowded on the weekends. I definitely plan on coming back but probably during off hours so I can enjoy a few beers and a meal.

Overall I really enjoy coming here. I've done the late night for drinks, dinner/happy hour and Sunday brunch. My favorite....brunch. The environment and set up is great! Service is also great it just gets really crowded at night when you're wanting bevies. They usually have a band so be ready for the loud environment. Happy hour has some great specials on drinks but it can definitely add more to the food menu for HH. Brunch has great options and came with my boyfriend for football Sunday (was disappointed they don't do the sound so we left) but the food was great! Their sweet potatoe fries are fab though! Definitely recommend this place!

Made my first visit to the Pour House (ha ha), on what turned out to be a very busy Friday happy hour/night. The interior is tastefully done...a classy, brewhouse with a sort of speakeasy feel: dark stained wood shelves, copper details, bartenders are wearing button-ups and suspenders, entire walls of whiskey and beers. THE DRINKS: Their libations menu is extensive with brews and whiskeys arranged by flavor profile. For cider drinkers like me (gluten-free!), they have quite a big selection, at least 10-12 different ciders...which is easily the largest cider menu I've seen in our area. They also have some good ol' fashioned cocktails made with fresh, hand-crafted ingredients. Though we didn't order one, the Moscow Mule seemed to be quite popular and we had fun watching the bartender masterfully create this potent libation served in a copper cup. FUN TIP: They play off of the fact that they are literally located right next to the train tracks with their special "Train Shots". Whenever a train passes, you can order up a Train Shot which is a really deep pour of Jack Daniels, all for $2! THE EATS: In terms of food, we ordered the sweet potato fires as as an appetizer. The first batch they brought us were barely warm and after I brought this to the attention of our server, she brought us a fresh, piping hot batch free of charge! Good thing too because those sweet potato fries were OUTSTANDING! The seasoning was delicious, they were the just the right amount of crispy, and were served with a spicy sriracha ketchup that was the perfect topper. I think I ordered the salmon - which was also pretty good - but the sweet potato fries were by far, the surprise WOW of the night. Wondering why I'm not giving the place a better rating stars considering how much I enjoyed it? I deducted a star for SLOW SERVICE. I understand it was a busy Friday night, but it took well over an hour to get seated. The hostess had initially said it would be about 20 minutes and when we noticed it was taking longer, we wondered if we should just order our food at the bar. After being assured by the hostess that it would just be a few more minutes, we decided to wait. Well, that few minutes turned into an hour+. I'm not picky. We could've eaten at the bar and would have been OK if the hostess has been more realistic about the time and perhaps had even recommended to dine at the bar.

Tried Pour House for happy hour last night and really enjoyed it. We will definitely be back when we feel like a cheap drink at a casual, but hip dining spot. When we arrived we headed for the bar and were greeted by a super friendly bartender. They had one of my hubby's fav IPAs on tap so he was happy. I asked the bartender to make me a drink he had never heard of before, but he graciously said he'd do his best and it was one of the best Campari Spritz's I've ever had. Since we were headed to dinner after this stop we only ordered one appetizer off the happy hour menu. About 30 min later it still hadn't arrived and we were done with our drinks so we asked the bartender to just cancel the order. He was super apologetic (the order somehow never made it to the kitchen) and he offered to buy it for us if we'd stay, which we gladly accepted. We ordered just one more beer while we were waiting since we didn't want to get too liquored up before dinner and the bartender split the pint into 2 glasses for us. Who does that!? Awesome. When they finally arrived the loaded tots were amazing!!! Overall, good drinks, good food, and great staff.

Cool spot with atmospheric lighting and crafty drinks. Most of the staff there is so-so, and they can be a bit stuck up/snobby. HOWEVER, Tajz is the shining star of the entire establishment and is the reason I return there. Truly passionate about what he does, he is always offering valuable advice and consultation on what kind of drink best suits you. He has a great personality and his excellent customer service is warm-hearted and genuine. Not to mention he makes awesome drinks! If you decide to check this place out, do yourself a solid and ask for Tajz.

My first time at the Pour House was great! Really glad that we got there early on Sunday. We got a great table, and it didn't start getting crowded and loud until we were about to leave. The toughest thing to do is choose what you want. They have so many great brunch selections, and their prices are amazing for the great food. My friends had a tough time deciding which beers to try from their great selection, and which whiskeys to try from their amazing Whisk(e)y Library! This is a great place to take people who are in town to visit. The only thing I'd ask from our waitress would be a bit more in the smiling department, and a little less looking like you're annoyed at being pulled out of bed on a Sunday morning.

Very impressed. The Pour House knows what it takes to make a successful bar/restaurant. Teamed up with Coast to Coast for an expanded food menu, along with a bar that has a stunning collection of beers and whiskies, there's so much going on here you just can't take it all in with just one visit! They've also brought Sacramento the wonderful invention of intelligent "table-taps" that offer two beer selections and one hard liquor, and then measure how much of what you've poured, charging you accordingly. Adds a bit of fun as you can pour your own drinks, and also a great option on a busy night because you don't have to wait on a waitress to bring you your drinks, you just pour away. I was in a group of six, and among the things ordered where a Salmon BLT, a BBQ Tri-Tip sandwich, a Rueben, a Pastrami sandwich, a Burger, and a Shrimp PoBoy. Yes, that's right, everyone at the table ordered something different. I didn't get to try it all, but it all looked very good, and I heard no complaints. The drinks on the table-tap were an IPA and a creamy wheat flavored beer (both names escape me) along with Jameson for the hard liquor option. Everyone enjoyed the table-tap, and the ladies even enjoyed a Whiskey Fig or two (or three), the Pour House's signature drink a friend of ours told us. It was a very nice dinner, the kind that you make sure to try and repeat in the near future. The decor of the place looked nice, and the table/seating felt good. I loved the lighting and the overall atmosphere that all showed an incredible attention to detail. The whiskey lockers were all lit up and served as a very nice highlight to the bar area, with the cool orange backlighting adding more depth to the place. The staff was very nice, and very helpful, and the manager Jon was an especially pleasant person who was quick to impress not only with his charismatic personality, but also with his vast knowledge of beers of all kinds. Well I salute you Jon, this place is something to be proud of. It's a testament of your ability to run a thriving success of a business, by keeping your customers happy, and coming back. I'll be back for sure.

I haven't been to this bar since it was Whiskey Wild's and my how things have changed. The place has definitely upscaled its ambience for a bar. The lighting behind the shelving looks nice and they have quite the display of specialty beers. Actually. the display ran across the majority of the bar, and I'm sure featured other alcohol, but I especially took note of the beers. We came here for the Yelp Bartender Olympics and were invited to try their Ginger Beer paired with the night's featured alcohol, Tullemore Dew whiskey. If you are a ginger fan, this drink is a must try! It's made in house and has a very strong and spicy ginger flavor. I'm not sure if Pour House serves the ginger beer alone, but I can definitely vouch for the beer and whiskey mixer. In addition, I had a whiskey sour, which was just fine. The bartender was very nice and accommodating. He checked in with us a few times while we were sitting at the bar, which I liked and appreciated. This place seems like a pretty chill spot. Only thing I didn't like were their fries. I'm not sure if it was some fluke, but you usually can't go wrong with FRIES! Unfortunately, they went wrong...I think I'll just stick to ordering drinks from this place.

I want to like Pour House. I really, really do. It's a block from my house. The interior is awesome. The beer list is great. The mixed drinks are generally solid. I gave it a fair shot: I was invited to one of the soft openings before the grand opening and left convinced it was going to be everything I wanted it to be and more. The crowd had been awesome: one of those rare evenings where you could walk up to anyone there and chat amicably about anything. The drinks were good and very reasonably priced. The music was solid. Since that night I've been four more times, each with mixed results. The grand opening was packed (as I knew it would be) but the A/C wasn't working, which is rough on a hot summer night like that. Saturday night was also good, though again packed. Neither night I was expecting service to be great with how many people there were but the bartenders did their best to keep up. Brief side note: Don't try and park behind Pourhouse. That's not parking; that's a train track. You'd think this would be common knowledge but Saturday night alone we watched two different cars pull in and get stuck on the tracks. The following two times were different however. I stopped by after work for a quick beer and couldn't get a bartender's attention to save my life. I was even sitting at the bar. The next night, a similar problem: my friend and I were getting food and the service was incredibly slow and hard to come by. The food was ok, although they forgot to give us a couple of things we had asked for. I think the Pourhouse's biggest issue for the time being is a crisis of conscience. It's not sure what it's trying to be yet. It's family friendly dining while college kids get drunk and spray people on the table taps? It's a high-end whiskey bar that will be a club on Thursdays? That crisis is apparent in it's clientele as well. Every night I've been it's been a mixture of bro's, hipsters, yuppies, Jersey Shore rejects, 30-something bar hoppers, and college kids. In other words, every group in Sac. Don't get me wrong, I love a bar with a mixed crowd. But every group has a distinct idea of what they want the bar to be; my fear is that it's being pulled into too many directions. So I'm holding out hope and will update this review as time goes on. Hopefully it starts to figure itself out.

Ok, I've gone twice now and had night and day experiences (literally and figuratively). I could only tolerate about an hour of Amateur Night on a Thursday, but the following Sunday afternoon was delightful. The bar itself is small and nicely redone in saloon style, with a decent menu of old-timey cocktails, burgers and bar bites. The element that was so out of place on Thursday night was the DJ blasting house music so loud I couldn't hear the waitress trying to explain how the table tap system works... which novelty is the whole selling point, right? Tables had been moved aside to create a small dance floor, but I'm not really into watching a bunch of college-age kids taking pictures and marveling at their lame break dancing and dry humping skills. In all fairness, it should be noted this was the end of the first week of college classes (but doesn't the bus take them straight from campus to BroWest?) Sunday afternoon we arrived to several eager bartenders and lots of empty tables, all of which were full by the time we left with, ah, slightly more mature clientele. We received very attentive service from our bartender, who promised lots of exciting features that will eventually be instituted, such as a whiskey society and nightly events. I'll be interested to see if they work out the kinks and/or continue with live entertainment. Catering to a young crowd will only keep you open as long as Whiskey Wild.

First let me say that I'm glad that this place opened here. This part of town was in need of a better option than the surrounding bars. Right when you walk in this place you can see what theme they are working for. The Pre-Prohibition Era decor and dress are noticeable upon entry and make for a relaxed environment. And of course: Taps at the table!!! Usually one dark, one light, and one of Jameson....that's right....Jameson!!! Sometimes I worry that themes tend to get in the way of good service or food/drinks, but in the case of the Pourhouse that doesn't seem to be so.... Although, I was there one night and the service was super slow! So slow that people were walking out! I have had pretty good experiences at this place, but some people I know have not, and I understand why. I think this place is still getting its feet under it. Many of the bartenders and servers are still very unfamiliar with their menu and drinks. The managers are all cool and seem like they have their hands full training what seem to be very inexperienced staff. I am a patient person with a background in food service, some I am more forgiving than most. The food is ok but a little overpriced. My spinach salad was great!, the fish and chips was ok., and the happy hour snack menu doesn't have a good selection. This place is 3 stars for food, drinks, and service. It gets the 4th star because it has such strong potential to be a neighborhood hot spot. Heck! It could easily be a 5 star joint after it gets settled in and the staff gets smooth. I live right around the corner, so I'll be here a lot. I'm expecting nothing but good things! Most importantly: Homemade Ginger Ale!!!! Goes great with whisky!!

The beer selection here is crazy good!! I highly recommend grabbing a seat at the bar if you're planning a visit. The 3 times we've tried to get a table, it's been too busy... third time was a charm though ..we were sat! One thing that might be a nice future plan for this place; would be a waiting area. It's really awkward to put your name on a list to be seated and then just stand in front of the door. the Host/Hostess' seem a little uncomfortable by this so we've always just left to go eat somewhere else if there was a wait. Food wise, it was ok. The pork pops were tasty if that's your thing, the burger was good, and the fish taco's were fine. In all, we'll return... but probably for a beer or two.

No A/C. No reserved signs on the booths. Kicked out of the empty booth (1 of 2 that were empty and allegedly booked three weeks out -a little self congratulatory there, hostess) No seating elsewhere. Self proclaimed GM was über cool trying to apologize for it all as we walked out...probably just rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic though.

Definitely my new favorite spot. I will say, it can get a bit overwhelming and crowded on weekend nights, but for an afternoon or early evening cocktail and snack? It's got it going on. The drinks are out of this world; first and foremost. Everything is freshly made, the ginger ale, the ice is crushed from a huge block, juices squeezed daily for cocktails, you can't go wrong. I definitely recommend the whiskey fig if you like sweet and if you like old school they serve their mint juleps in a copper cup. The food is equally outstanding, whether you want pub food or lighter fair, there is something delicious for everyone. Starter wise, the charcuterie plate and sweet potato fries are outstanding and pair nicely with the wide selection of beers the pour house boasts. The sandwiches are amazing! You can definitely tell love and care went into the recipe for the po-boy dredging; I particularly loved my fried oyster po-boy! For the taste, execution and atmosphere it definitely falls in the right price point and is a fun and quirky addition to midtown! Check it out!

Great selection of alcohol!! Lots of fun with a fun crowd and fun wait staff. Don't miss the back room and the outside if you want some fresh (smoky) air.

Pour House officially opens August 10, but my group was graciously invited in by the event hosts for their soft opening. We were also lucky enough to try out the new Pour Tables at the venue. Other reviews have described the interior, so I'll leave that aside. It's safe to say, however, that the decorations are really very good, and I enjoyed the Edison lighting immensely. The Pour Tables are really neat technology. The tables have screens set into the surface that measure out the amount of beer or whiskey that your table has consumed, and taps at the table for serving yourself. Each table gets two drinks per person, either two shots, a beer and a shot, or two beers. After that the waitstaff have to be called to re-up, or so I think. Each table can be set up with different beers provided that you call ahead of time. Of the three taps at each table, two pour beer and one pours whiskey. The best part, aside from the convenience of being able to pour your own beers or refresh old beers as you need, is that the machine can tell the difference between beer and foam! Thus, you only pay for the beer you get out of the tap. Jon, whom I assume is the manager, took the time to introduce our table to all the features at this new venue. The prices on the beers were reasonable, and the beer list featured some great local brews and some more popular national fare. Didn't have the chance to try the food. If the front room is too loud for your liking, definitely take a seat in the back, where its much quieter.

The interior of this place is really pretty amazing. It feels like a converted barn, a secret hideout, a rural county watering hole rehabbed by some visionary soul with deep pockets. Dark, rough wood rings the primary bar, lighting is genius, palette ranges from rich cocoa to calfskin. I absolutely love the feel of the place. Seems a shame that I'll rarely go back. And it's not for lack of service, which was more than adequate (and comely to boot), nor is it for the lack of selection, which was verging on copious for beers and solid for spirits, nor for the food which was satisfactory if not memorable, nor for the prices which were highish but fair. No, it's the crowd. The party crowd, always looking for the next thing seems to have found a new perch. From the overly loud dudes broadcasting their sexual conquests to the ladies of the evening who think Wednesday night is an appropriate evening for their skimpiest clubbing uniforms, not to mention the general deafening din that fills the place once more than a handful of Axe body spray walks into the place. If I return it'll be for a Sunday afternoon nip, or a Thursday happy hour, but you'll probably not find me there anywhere near the witching hour.

Jason Poolhouse scammed my company into performing a Paint and Wine fundraiser for Pourhouse. You guys are creeps. You never paid for our services but now I see you are trying to host your own Paint and Wine night.

My husband and I have been to the Pour House twice now. Both times have been really nice. The cocktails are great, the beer selection is great and the food is very, very good. I recommend the shrimp po'boy. Like other reviews have said the service can be so-so. The first time we went it was on New Years Eve around 7 p.m. so it wasn't crowded yet and we were able to get a booth with a group of friends. Our server was great. Very friendly, knew a lot about the different beers and drinks and even brought me a brunch menu because she heard me commenting on their unlimited mimosas and beer for brunch. The second time we went it was pretty busy and our server seemed very overwhelmed and forgetful. We put in our drink order about 10 minutes after we sat down and then waited another 20 minutes to get our drinks and to order food. But, this place has a great atmosphere and a great place to go with a group. It's starting to become our favorite place to bring people from out of town.

Such a great bar to chill at! The food is great and staff is super friendly. The must try drink is the Bloody Mary , it's to die for. The flavor is amazing!!!!!

A lot of these hipster craft beer places have been opening up all over the place but Pour House does a superb job at not being too gloomy, loud or pretentious. It has those booths with the taps in them and I'm not sure how well they work but props for hopping on that wagon quick and bringing it to sac. There is a nice outdoor area in the back where the smokers congregate and it doesn't take an absurd amount of time to get a drink in here. Overall, a good place to stop by on a weekend bar hop.

I've been to Pour House a few times and it never disappoints. I love the ambiance. Very chill and casual place with great drinks. I'm a big fan of their whiskey fig and Moscow mule. And who doesn't easily accessible tap right at their table. It's a must visit.

I hate leaving bad reviews for a place that is actually very nice and serves original & fresh style drinks HOWEVER, the staff absolutely killed the experience for me and my party of 10 - none of us would EVER go back. Me & my wife and a bunch of her co-workers went yesterday after work for happy hour. We arrived around 4:45 and put a couple of tables together. After we already had drinks and hanging out for a good 30 minutes one of the female staffers (I'm assuming door/reservation girl??? she walked around with a schedule book in her hand) came over (with a bad attitude from the jump) and told us we'd have to move at 5:45 for another party that wanted the tables we were sitting at and that our area was already "previous reserved". Keep in mind there were NO reserved signs at all on the tables, these were just common area middle tables and not a "pour" booth, we actually put the tables together ourselves to accommodate our own large group and no one said anything to us when we got there or for the last 30 minutes while we settled in, enjoying our drinks and ordering food. With that being said, we're not unreasonable. In light of her horrible attitude, we advised the female staffer that there were no signs saying it was reserved and were open to moving if we'd be comped our drinks and given another table or booth to accommodate us since we had already been there before almost everyone else. The staffer got even more bitchy and said flat out "NO" to our request nor could she guarantee us any seating either - so pretty much we had to move from our tables, not be comped a single thing for the huge inconvenience to our large party and now we have deal with this bitchy girl that knows absolutely nothing about customer service. Her bad attitude was completely ridiculous, she didn't even try to be nice about the whole thing - it was just a "too bad, so sad" attitude that we had to move from a supposedly "reserved" area that had no signs at all. We requested to speak with the manager but she told us he was too busy so we continued to hold it down at our tables and refused to move. She came over again with a very bad attitude, still trying to tell us the same thing and again we requested to speak with the manager, she said she'd get him but he never ever came over to defuse the horrible mood that his bitchy staffer created or address the issue. Eventually nothing ever came of this "other party" that "reserved" the tables we had, the bitchy female staffer later came over and said she found them a different place to sit, as if she was doing us some type of favor....she was totally ridiculous!!!! I would have loved to leave a zero tip for the horrible experience but the bar tender was great and she had nothing to do with this other bitchy staffer that was wrecking our evening. If it wasn't for that super unfriendly and bitchy staffer I would have loved to give this place 4/5 stars for great drinks and good atmosphere but with staff like that and an uncaring manager that doesn't take time to smooth over a bad situation for a party of 10, that's just absolutely outrageous in the worst way. All of us are working professionals in our mid-30's, ready to spend money and refer our friends and family to great places but rest assured, this will be one place that none of us will ever frequent again and will spread the word about this horrible experience.

Stopped in here on a whim with my 3 friends ~ lovely old landmark building (I'm curious about it's original purpose). And while it was one of our untimely Sacramento 110 degree days - the breeze on the patio out back was perfect in the evening as was the ambiance. I gave it 4 stars but switched to 5 b/c of the old building and selection at the bar - impressive. Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly, adorable, hostess who directed us to the bar and patio. My friends all ordered the "fancy stuff" as I call it, while I stuck to a local cider. They raved about their drinks and the food looked fabulous although we didn't eat (having just relished in a meal at FIrestone). However, my husband has been with his buddies and said the pastrami sandwich is deeelish! Seating is pub/bar style with scotch/whiskey/beer dispensary (tap) booth seating around the perimeter (which I think one might need reservations for??) and a patio outside. Pretty cool. Attentive staff and nothing but good things to say about the place! I hear that if the train blows by in the evenings, everyone gets a free shot of whiskey. perfect!

Came in on a random Tuesday night and it was purely to try their infamous bloody mary. HELLO! It is the best I have had. Not too spicy, not too sweet. They even sell the mix. Next time I am in need of some "hair of the dog" I will be back!

Pros: The atmosphere of this place is very nice and cozy. A local friend introduced me to the Moscow Mule, which was presented very nicely in a copper cup. The beer selection had a very wide variety. As far as the "bar bites" menu, I tried the bacon mac n' cheese which is delightfully rich and filling for its size. I also tried some of fries, and they are well done. The bar "food" menu is one of the best I have ordered from. The background music selection was excellent as well. Cons: No major ones. There are few table spaces, but I was fine with the set up. Bottom Line: I like this place, and I will be sure to come back to try other drinks on the menu. The food and drinks are solidly prepared.

Bf and I just went for drinks.... had the famous bloody mary... by which was THE best bloody mary i've ever had. It doesn't look fancy. Has no bacon, no extras and doesn't need the bells and whistles because the taste is absolutley delicious. The Siracha salt on the rim was yummy! Our waitress was friendly. I haven't had a chance to eat here but will definitly go back. All of the food that passed our table looked AND smelled SUPER!!!!!!! The only reason i didnt give all the stars is because i h'ave't eaten the food yet. I guarentee i'll be back to edit this review and add that last star.

Every time I have been here, it has been way too crowded. Most recently, we called the day prior to get a reservation for a table and were told we wouldn't need one. When we showed up, we were told that the wait would be about an hour. No thanks.

I'm pretty happy with this place. Drinks were really good, well presented if a little slow. Love the ice cubes they use for whiskey on the rocks, and the $2 train shots are a novel idea to highlight what could be considered a fault, the rail line runs immediately next to the building. Only one tv in the main area and none outside makes this a less than ideal place to catch a game.

I want to start with, I will definitely try this place again. I went with a few girlfriends for drinks and dinner. The "feel" and style of the place was great, we all kinda fell in love with the decoration and atmosphere. I will say it was a little dark at times, the lighting kept changing and at one point we could barely read the menu but okay. The food was, alright. Being a vegetarian and a mac & cheese lover, I was disappointed I couldnt order it without the bacon. And they were out of the veggie burger so my options were very limited. The house salad was a great size for the price and the dressing was yum! The "regular" fries sucked though, had the texture of styrofoam. The drinks were delicious and totally made the night. The four of us all ordered different drinks (two rounds) and were impressed with all of them. The one bad thing was the service. We sat there for about 15 minutes before being able to order and missed happy hour prices because of it (pet peeve of mine). The server was okay, you could tell she didnt know the menu at all and had to ask, but I do appreciate her honestly of her lack of knowledge -- I'd rather have her ask and get it right than assume and get my order wrong. She was a bit slow but thanked us for our patience which saved the trip. I understand this is a brand new place with a brand new menu but let's just say she probably could have gotten a lot more money out of us. Next time, I'll try the bar & see how that goes.

I've only been to pour house once so far. Sat on the back patio around 8pm on a week night with a large party. The cocktail server was friendly. The drinks were decent. I found it tacky that they asked to hang on to a friends license when she ordered a Moscow Mule to make sure she didn't steal the copper cup.. I know copper gets stolen but, made me think I was in some ghetto place.. never had that experience at a bar before.

Great new addition to the downtown bar scene. I would characterize this place as an upscale whiskey bar that also serves some quality beers on tap. The interior is dimly lit, with a lot of wooden walls, tables, counters, etc. The bar space is somewhat small, and I'm still not quite sure if this place is trying to be a hybrid restaurant/bar or if they just wanted to provide tables for people to sit at. The do have some high countertops so you can set your beer down in the bar area and socialize. Big plus for having Templeton Rye whiskey, which is pretty tough to find. It's too soon to have a specific crowd/vibe, but my initial take was it's populated somewhat by 'bros'. But I'm willing to give it a few shots, and worse-case scenario I can walk a block down to Benny's to get drunk on the cheap.

Pour House has quickly become one of my favorite places to eat. The pulled pork sandwich is SO freaking good. And they have this drink called a whiskey fig that I have dreams about. The atmosphere is fun and comfortable. The biggest downside is that the service is reeeeallly slow. Doesnt matter if its a Saturday or a Monday, you have to wait ages for anyone to take your order, bring you drinks, bring your check, anything. So dont go if you have somewhere to be afterward, make sure you have plenty of time to relax and enjoy the delicious food and drinks. They have live entertainment that is kinda hit and miss. Check out the vapor bar in the back if you're into that kinda thing. Wish they had more vegetarian options. Their veggie burger is really boring and not that good.

We decided to try pour house after we attended the yelp party, and it was not quite what we expected. We were under the impression, I guess because of the name, that we would be able to pour just about any beer they offered from our table. At the booths, there was about 2 beers on tap and Jameson that you can pour on your own; you are charged by the ounce, which works out to be about the same price at most restaurants for drinks. This isn't a bad place to go have some whisky, it has a HUGE selection of whisky! Food: we ordered the cobb salad and sweet potato fries. I thought the cobb salad was typical. The sweet potato fries, however, is something I would go back there for; they were made with a hint of spiciness which I absolutely loved.

Thank you bearded bartender with the dreamy eyes for the attentive service & delicious drinks, and thank you too suspender mustache guy behind the bar. The polite staff almost makes up for the bar'sdouchebag practices. I came here on a Friday for happy hour with my coworkers. There was standing room only. The interior is small with only 4 booths and some tables, and apparently you have to reserve the booths a hostess said, a week in advance!?! The back half of the bar was closed off for a private event. It's a new bar, and It's Friday evening, why is half of the bar closed?!? My party and I stood around for a while, had a drink then left. - Cool ambiance with a prohibition era vibe - Friendly staff - Plenty of street parking Overall, It's a'ight. Worth checking out. Not sure if I'd be back.

This was my first time going to a pub and it was pretty cool! I came here for my friend's little surprise. At first, I was overwhelmed because the place was so lively! It's a really nice place. I love the decor! Though, the atmosphere reminds me a bit of a house party because you have to squeeze yourself through to get to where you want and they have an outside smoking area. For drinks, I think they're a pretty good price. $4-5. I consider that cheaper than places I've been to. I'm not a beer person so i usually get flavorful beer like cider. Their cider was only $4.50 and I liked it a lot. Most of my friends really enjoyed what they ordered. It's funny because my friend got recommended a drink and he really liked it. He's been trying to find it everywhere at liquor stores since then. The bartender that served us was pretty cool too! He really knows his stuff so all the drinks that he recommended turned out great! It was also entertaining watching the bartender climb up the latter whenever he had to grab a bottle. SOO overall, 4! This place is pretty awesome and I wouldn't mind coming here with my friends again.

Finally made it to brunch at Pour House recently, and absolutely loved it. We came in around 1:40 pm, brunch ends at 2. There was a 30 min wait so we decided to sit and eat at the bar. The bartender was pretty busy but quickly got our bloody Mary's out - which were yummy as usual. I ordered the Banana Nut Waffle, when our food came out there was a big confusion I think the bartender was just so busy, our food was mixed up with another two couples sitting at the bar. But I understood he was slammed. He ended up buying us all train shots, which was cool. I thoroughly enjoyed my waffle! Especially the maple whiskey syrup. Great prices too. I think I'll have to go again for brunch this weekend.

Pour House isn't like your ordinary brew pub. There are many more interesting beer, mixed drink and menu options than the standard pub grub. They seem to put a little extra effort into everything there. The decor is more flair, the food has more interesting and they put some thought and care into the drink menu. It has a kind of rustic old west feel to and has taps on the table tops. That alone should warrant top ratings. There's juicy and flavorful burgers with a soft fluffy buns. There's crisp sweet potato fries with spicy ketchup. The bartender was making his own ginger syrup for Moscow Mules instead of using something from a can. I took that as a good sign. The place has some real character, tasty food and oh those drinks. I'll be back for all three but most of all, the drinks!

This place is great! I love going to Pour house. They have a nice diverse selection of beers, bottled and tap, along with a variety of whiskeys and scotches. I'm talking beyond that cheap stuff! With that said, they still have the usual and have the coolness of doing $2 Jack Daniels shots when a train rolls by. The service is very friendly and attentive. The place isn't that large, but there is a back patio, which is pretty cool. The lighting is moderately dark, which is actually just right. They booth seating also has their own taps, which you can select what you want to and serve yourself however much you want (charged by the oz.)! Pretty cool idea I think, and it's all on a touch screen built into the table. They have a couple large screen TVs behind the bar playing the usual big sports event that is on and they also occasionally have a live band playing, all of whom have been pretty awesome. Lastly, the food. The kitchen is Coast to Coast Sandwiches, which I think is delicious. I haven't had anything here that wasn't good so order freely! All in all stop by this place, especially if you're a big whiskey, scotch or beer person, and grab a bite while you're there!

Went last night for the first time. Speakesy vibe with great decor, beer and scotch list. Problem? The service needs some help - inattentive, especially when I'm closing out my tab, is acceptable if you've got a packed house. But with less than 20 people, no reason for me to wait 15 minutes to have you swipe my credit card. Hope this critical feedback has an impact and look forward to my next visit!

Came here for sunday brunch and I am a little disappointed. Not much of a food selection, I ordered the omelete which was very good but I wish there would have been different options. I understand that this place is more of a bar but if you are going to advertise as a breakfast place please have some coffee or some apple juice. Two HUGE disappointments.

Bartenders here are terrible - rude and inattentive. If they had better bartenders it would be a decent place. Also, they don't seem to have any way to replace kegs that run out until the next day. Two kegs ran out and they didn't replace either.

Stopped in just for drinks. Had a terrible bartender. Shorter guy with a beard and pudgy. He was arrogant, thought he was cool and really rude but in a not so obvious way. He acted busy but it didn't seem crazy to us. I'll be back for dinner but till then 1 star for lame guy behind your bar. He's not keeping customers. He's loosin em.

My first experience at Pour House wasn't the best and I wrote a review on here about it. I was very surprised and caught off guard when one of the managers responded to my review in the comment section. I was overcharged for a drink I ordered during my first visit so the manager, Jon A., invited me to come back to Pour House so they could "make it right." I agreed and had a much better time my second visit. We went back on a Saturday night and expected it to be super packed like the first time but it wasn't. It was crowded but not to the point where there was nowhere to sit and the bar is jammed and it takes 10 minutes to order drinks. When I found Jon A., he asked me what I wanted to drink and I said I wanted a Blueberry Press but he suggested that I try the "best" drink that Pour House had to offer - a fig and whiskey drink, so I said sure. He also told me if I didn't like it, I could order my Blueberry Press. The fig and whiskey drink was really good. The flavors melded together well and I couldn't even taste the alcohol. After he had given us two of those for free, he brought over a Paloma made with grapefruit juice, which was also delicious. We were able to sit in one of the booths and got to use the taps, which was pretty cool. I have a new appreciation for this bar after my second visit and my interactions with Jon A. I look forward to trying more craft cocktails in the future.

Nice ambience and an epic liqour selection, but certainly nothing to write home about. I had the shrimp and grits, which were tasty, but a bit lacking in the shrimp area. The fiance had a burger which seemed to have a preformed patty, and was fine, but nothing exciting by any means. The taps at the tables are a neat idea, but more novelty than anything.

I have been here several times both for post workday fun as well ad brunch - and I really like it! I have tried several things on their menu - bacon mac 'n cheese, BBQ tri-tip, BBQ pulled pork, sweet potato fries... all have been really good. They also have a great selection of beer. A fun thing - every time a train goes by, they do $2 shots of Jack - and last night you had a choice of regular Jack and Honey Jack - fun! The service is usually pretty good, but last night was not great. Our waitress kept trying to take stuff off our table before we were done with them - menus, plates... and then had the OPPOSITE level of attentiveness when it came to refilling my glass of iced tea - it went empty and I had to wait more than 5 minutes for a refile 3 or 4 times. If this had been my first visit there, I would probably feel differently about it, but not every server can be great, right? SDo I will def be back - I'll just try REALLY hard not to sit in the sub-par server's section!

It's true! The best Bloody Marys. Went for happy hour between shops and enjoyed a drink and 1/2 beer just to play with the taps at the table. Grilled cheese sticks are the best grilled cheese sandwich ever. Wings were perfect good thing we chose mild! Best part possibly is the service. Immediate and constant but not bothersome. Didn't give it a 5 because I need to experience more. Returning soon!

I thought this would be a good place for a birthday gathering for two great guys. I called in advance and spoke with a manager, who said "no problem" we can reserve you a table for 10 people. This was also confirmed THE DAY OF THE EVENT and once again, "no problem". Come the night of the event, they ignored the request and "oops, we have a large event that is taking up all the table space". Our waitress was kind and apologetic (wasn't her fault) and tried to accommodate, but our group ended up all split up. She mentioned the person responsible was there and she would ask them to come apologize; however, nobody showed face. The food was also terrible! Unfortunately, this place lost business from a large pool of physicians who will not be using them for their pub gatherings.

Nice size venue with two rooms and bars. Yesterday was my first time there and it was for the Beer Olympics. Didn't drink any beer but had plenty of GOOD drinks. They also have some good appetizers and food. The bartenders were nice and happy to serve us. If you like bars, you will love this one.

I've been to Pour House several times now and I am still not sure of what I really think of the place. In some ways, it seems as though they are trying to be a cocktail bar along the lines of the Shady Lady. The menu has a number of really inventive, sophisticated, and delicious drinks on it (the Whiskey Fig is just amazing) and they stock a great array of liquor. On the other hand, it's not the kind of place where you can order a classic cocktail that's not on the menu. When we were there last night, one of my companions ordered a Last Word and was told they didn't have any Chartreuse. That's something they really ought to have on hand if they're trying to be serious about their cocktail program. Then there are the taps at the booths, which could only push the "pound the Jamison's and get hammered" angle. The $2 "Train Shots" also function to get people well-sloshed. The food is a cut above your normal bar food, although again not as interesting as the Shady Lady's. The charcuterie plate was really great when we were there a month ago but not as interesting last night. The shrimp po'boy was very good and the burgers look excellent. Service at the bar was rather poor. We sat down and waited quite a while before anyone came to take our orders. Then it was a pretty long wait before two of the four of us got our drinks and another long wait before the other two got theirs. Service improved when we moved to a table and had the focused attention of a waitress, although they strangely do not allow you to carry your bar tab over to the table. (What the hell is that all about?) Ambiance was okay, although the shreeky music they started blasting through what sounded like a bad sound system didn't help. So I guess this is the kind of place you might go to if you want to try (only) the interesting cocktails that are on the menu or if you just want to get stinkin' drunk and have some decent food while you're at it. Nothing wrong with that.

Wow. Gone are the days of dancing on the bar and endless fights at Whiskey Wild. Complete transformation into a relaxed Adult-Oriented prohibition-style bar... ala Shady Lady, but too new to be SWAMPED like Shady gets. Came actually for my fantasy football draft. Management was super cooperative and had us set up in the back bar area. Let us on their private wifi network, gave us our own servers who were glad to dish out their own fantasy advice! Happy hour drinks were super cheap, and they definitely don't short pour. They make up for being right next to the train tracks (and the inevitable loud building-shaking trains that come with it) by offering $2 shots of Jack Daniels for your inconvenience! Can't beat that! Had the Shrimp PoBoy and sweet potato fries. I've traveled a lot within the SouthEast, the Big Easy, and all around the Gulf of Mexico, and this ranks up there with the poyboy's I've ever had. I'm a HUGE nut for sweet potato fries, and theirs are done in a good cajun spice coating that's not overpowering but with a little ketchup makes for the perfect match of sweet/savory/spice. If i had one critique it'd be that the full-price drinks can be a little small in volume. They're packed with alcohol, and if you read the drink menus you can see they leave a lot of the filler out.... But something about being served $7-$9 drinks that look/feel closer to shots or maybe shooters on ice makes me wanna go back to ordering more of the well drinks. Hoping this place is here to stay because I'm for SURE coming back!

Great bacon Mac n cheese. Good feel/atmosphere. The service is relaxed, in other words I think they like to have you hang out for a while. Really like it and will be back.

I've been patiently waiting for Pour House to open. I finally got a chance to check it out this past weekend and I must say that it's pretty cool. The idea of having taps of Jameson and beer at every table is genius. Unfortunately, the chance of locking down one of these tables (there's only 4 or so) on a weekend night are slim to none. So if you want one, show up early. The thing that sold me on Pour House was its menu of custom cocktails. They're diverse and, from what I've tried so far, crafted masterfully. I'd really recommend ordering one. I'm sure I'll have to update this review in the future. There's a lot of positive ideas flowing through this place. I'm interested in seeing which ones stick around.

My first impression of Pour House was a soft opening. There was great music, the crowd was lively, bartenders were attentive, and the smell of that brisket on the BBQ was enough to make me slide out of my chair. In the short time it's been open I've managed to swing in probably 5 times. Some nights its dead on, other times service was pretty slow and you're waiting around for too long. I think Pour House has major potential they're just trying to find their "groove". Go ahead and give it a shot...the shrimp po boy, bacon mac n cheese, spinach salad, sweet potato fries...ok now I'm hungry.

Where to begin? I guess I'll just review my third and final visit there. I really did try and give this place an honest chance and all three times I've been let down! Me and my friend found 2 seats at the bar last night and were acknowledged in a decent amount of time. The bartender helping us was very friendly and promptly took our order for a couple beers and some food. (It was pretty packed for a Wednesday night but nothing insane going on.) We ordered some cheesy bread and veggie sliders. The cheesy bread was decent. Kinda greasy and the marinara sauce was a little chunky for my liking but not bad. The veggie sliders however, looked nothing better than a dog biscuit. They lacked flavor and were dry like sawdust. If that was the worse part, it wasn't anything a little sauce couldn't help...sorta. But sauce could not help the slimy piece of plastic I pulled out of the middle of my slider. I thought at first it was a onion skin (even though there were no onions on the slider.) Upon further investigation it definitely was a piece of Saran Wrap. And not a little piece either. After feeling uneasy about having just ate plastic I told the bartender right away. He brushed me off to this other girl, maybe a manager. She seemed to be ordering a crying new girl around all night so I figured she was "in charge" if u can call it that. When I told her, she replied with "Oh yea, that happened to me last week!" Wtf seriously!! Maybe you could have left that part out!! She said she'd take it off our bill, which was expected. So thanks for that! Not 5 minutes had passed when I look over at the edge of the bar about 4 feet away from me are at least 5-8 employees raising their shot glasses to the roof, toasting to "the worst night ever!" Wow awesome!!! I just ate plastic and the employees are getting drunk to forget their night. Needless to say, I will never be going back there again. $12 Crispin is a joke. Their food sucks. Employees don't care. It's just a mess. If plastic is in your food pyramid then Pour House is for you! If not, of stay away since clearly it's a weekly occurrence!

I found my way to Pour House for a YELP event. I can definitely see myself coming back to try out the beer taps that are self-serve on the tables-- genius idea if you ask me! Oh, and I cant forget to mention the delicious sweet potato fries. If you are looking for a bar/restaurant for a chill night out- check out pour house!

Loveee this place. Only a short walk from the house, so it is frequented often! First trip there with friends, we got lucky and were able to sit at the table with the taps. What an amazing concept. I can't believe I've never seen that before, and I hope thats the future for restaurants. Food is amazing, big props to the po boy and sweet potato fries. YUM! The drinks are awesome too. Bloody mary is one of my favorites. I crave it sometimes. The boyfriend enjoys the extensive Whiskey menu too. Overall, Pour house is fun, great ambiance, great food, great drinks.

Came here for my daughter's high school grad party! Had a party of 14 and they gave us the entire patio. Service was promt and friendly. I had the salmon, my wife had the tri tip, my daughter had a there signature burger, and my son ordered mac and cheese of the appetizer menu. Everything was cooked to perfection. Cant wait to go back and sample more!!!

Came here on a Sunday afternoon & had a really great time! Sat at one of the tap tables & really enjoyed the experience of pouring our own Jameson shots & sampling the beers in small pours at our own pace (you always can get a cold sip!). We had already eaten & just ordered a side of sweet-potato fries & the side of bacon mac & cheese. Both were super reasonably priced & superb. Additionally I got excited for the cocktails & ordered the "Whiskey Fig" shaken with fresh citrus & fig jelly, as well as a moscow mule because I read 'fresh pressed ginger". Both were delicious. ...there was already plenty of alcohol flowing at our table, so we didn't partake in the $2 whiskey shots whenever the train passes, but LOVED that concept, the whole bar cheered & got engaged. We had a really cool & sweet waitress, and we exited without it costing an arm & a leg. Totally great place!

We weren't even planning to come here, but when we drove by, we saw how crowded it was, we decided to stop by. Oh, the number of girls dressed up in tight dresses and in heels walking towards the place also persuaded us too. When we went in to Pour House, it was a full house, people everywhere, we can barely move. If you want a drink, good luck. But I have to admit, the atmosphere is great, the design of the whole place is great, not to mention the lighting... it's so dark even a dinosaur looks attractive.

Great drinks and food but all the bartenders I've interacted with are complete jerks. They're not happy to be at work. It's disheartening

Great spot to relax and have a nice cocktail or good brew. However the place gets to busy on Fri / Sat night and aquiring a chair at the bar is like hitting the lottery. I would give it 3 1/2 stars / C + but I'll be nice and round up to a B.

This will be the third time I have been here. I really really want to like this place and I really really want to, want to go back. The food is good and the drinks are great, the service is terrible. I don't understand. I have worked in service for about fifteen years from restaurants to coffee shops to retail, and there is a constant- don't make the customer feel uncomfortable. Apologize once, and don't blame your coworkers. On a Wednesday evening we had an hour long wait for a table, not a big deal as we were happily seated at the bar and chatting. The hostess was the one that sat me at the bar to wait for my friend and when I went to go check on the status of the table she said "I tried to find you," which I thought was hilarious as she was the one who sat me there in the first place. They were unusually busy for a Wednesday night, and I understand that. I am appreciative that they were so apologetic but at the same time if you are apologizing profusely for something in that type of environment, it is always better to make amends by paying more attention to the needs of the customer (ie. making sure the table has utensils, and that their water glasses remain full). I feel like they needed another server or two, or maybe better organization, because when you have an unexpectedly busy night well yea it can suck and it'll be a hard night but guess what? You are being paid to be there AND it is an opportunity to make more money....right? Again the drinks were delicious and the food was really good, but the service, man. The place is so cool on the inside and makes me happy to be in there because it reminds me of some of my favorite bars in SF, but I have been so disappointed I cannot go back and I can't recommend this place. I'm so sorry.

Coast to coast Benedict was awesome. Biscuits & Gravy were heavenly. Bloody Mary IS the best, and I don't even like Bloody Marys. If the train goes by, train shots are sold for like, $2. Good times. Friendly servers, good vibes, reasonable prices. Never had a bad experience here and this place keeps me coming back.

Pour House is a lot like Shady Lady, for anyone who knows Midtown bars. The prohibition era-style bar is a big thing in California right now, so it doesn't surprise me, especially with the success that Shady has drawn from it. This place has a nice-sized menu, and even has a few options for a vegetarian like me. The drinks are creative and tasty, with some really exciting and unique ingredients. Huge beer selection, but my favorites after the first visit were the Airmail and the Ginger Rogers. I'll definitely be going back many times as long as they keep their quality up! PS. They showed the Giants game! One thing they offer that Shady Lady doesn't.

We have been regularly going to Pour House for a while now and it's one of my favorite spots downtown. The bartenders are all super knowledgeable and really nice. Their house made ginger beer is to die for. I've tried almost the entire menu now and every dish I've tried is so decadent and delicious. Go in early to get a seat at the back bar and you'll be set for the evening.

A great addition to Sacramento. The tap tables are fun, but the beer selection behind the bar is really the shining star. The biggest crux decision is choosing from the extensive beer list, or opting for one of the delicious hand-made cocktails. The food is high-end pub grub with comfort good staples; think tri tip sandwiches, chicken sandwiches, and reuben with sides like sweet potato fries, coleslaw, and bacon mac&cheese. The menu is limited, but is delicious. Service was fast, courteous, and knowledgeable. I would like like to see an expanded dinner menu in the future with more entree choices beyond sandwiches. Will look forward to seeing the Pour House evolve into a Sacramento favorite.

first timer impression as we dropped by to get some pliny the younger but were told they sold out a half hour earlier in the day... went to this bar on a monday night (last night) and received terrible service. bartenders were standing around and talking more than they were serving their customers. i stood at the bar waiting for a beer and could not believe that they were totally engrossed in the conversations either with themselves or with some customer that must be there every night. the crazy thing is the customers that were sitting at the bar seemed to be just nursing their beers or playing with their phone the entire time. that was again part of the problem, our group of 6 had to wait about an hour for a table to open up when the guys that must frequent the bar were just sitting their without food or drink at their table for over 45 minutes. a couple of the girls were over at this table the entire time talking to them instead of pushing them out the door to have us seated. totally blew me away because one would think that they would want to start up a rather large tab that could end with tips for them being significant. because the service was so bad, we only tipped 15 percent rather than our usual 30. aside from up front service, the beer was very good and so was the food. we had sweet potato fries that were served with a sriracha ketchup, fried dill pickles, hot wings and a couple of us had tri tip sandwiches. the guy transporting the food back and forth was totally kicking butt and i felt sorry for him that he didnt have any help while these bartenders were just BSing with themselves or regulars. i wish i could have given a tip to this guy. the sriracha ketchup was great, i had never thought to mix the two but it came out really good with the fries. i usually mix cholula with a bit of ranch dressing to make a good dip for the sweet potato fries but this was just as good. the fried dill pickles were awesome. the cook prepared them perfectly and if they were originally frozen, i want to know the name of the company that makes them! the hot wings were pretty bad. they tasted rubbery and arrived luke warm to the table. the tri tip was kind of fatty which is weird because that cut usually isnt so im guessing it was totally tri tip. the sandwich is served with what looks like razor thin sliced beef marinated in bbq sauce. we got the side of fries with the sandwiches and they were just ok, nothing special to the regular fries. other than the beef being kind of fatty, it was an overall good bbq sandwich. i tried 3 of their beers, the dogheadfish, alaskan and the rye. our table ordered the rest of the specialty beers and the only one they served in a pint glass was the stella one of our ladies ordered. all were very tasty but rather than being served in a pint glass, they were served in a tulip glass regardless of the beer poured. this makes me think two things: a) they are not sure how to serve their beer but want to make it look fancy to the local hipsters. or b) they want to charge full price for the beer but save it at the same time so they charge $6-9 per 12 ounce glass. i will possibly visit this pub again if i am ever in the area otherwise i will stick to the local breweries. there are just too many other options where they serve great beer and food. my advice to the owner would be to scratch a lot of the folks last night that are more interested in conversation and not making you money. our group dropped at least $200 in the hour or so we were in the pub. if we had been sitting longer, im sure that number would have been doubled. i also would recommend that the bartenders get in the habit of either pouring drinks or helping the kitchen guy out with the food. in reality, the kitchen guy should never be on the floor delivering food, always the floor staff. instruction should also be given to the bartenders on what glass to use for what beer being employed at a pub and not knowing has got to be embarrassing.

I tried the mac and cheese at one one of the food truck festivals and I shared it with my bf, who loved it, and went back to get him some but they were all out. The folks that were working inside the truck were really sweet and I got an address for the pour house and have been wanting to try it out ever since. We finally made our way out there on what happened to be Valentines day and I was very pleased. The place was real chill and low key and all the staff was super friendly. Got the mac n cheese and the tri-tip sandwich and both my bf and I were happy. He had fun trying out different beer too. It wasn't a weekend or too late for it to be the party crowd yet but I am curious to return on a late night when they have bands... Loved you guys! Thanks for the great service!

I really like this place! It was a cool atmosphere, yummy specialty drinks, and lots of good beer! I have always loved Coast to Coast sandwiches so the food was great. The service was very nice but so so so so slow! Took a long time to get our drinks( even though we were sitting at the bar) and our food took even longer. All together we really enjoyed it!

DISCLAIMER: I'm not a beer drinker. That being said, the husband (champion beer drinker) and I both enjoyed Pour House. Nice service and atmosphere, and the tap tables were cool. When we walked in and saw those taps on the tables, we were all like "oh, snap! Taps!" Well not really. Sort of like video poker with a little screen, but it counts down ounce tally. Each tap table has 2 different seasonal beers, as well as Jameson's (when we went). The beer was a bit foamy, and the server explained that it was foaming up so much because the beer was so "fresh" and the tap hadn't been turned on all day. Whatevs. Brunch was good--I had some beer banana waffle thingy with whiskey syrup. Could have used more syrup but that's my own personal addiction I guess. We'll be baaaack and maybe they'll add a syrup tap. Sweet.

I am very, very pleased with this place. After the disappointment of Whiskey Wild, I was worried this space was doomed, but they did a first class job on the refit. My husband and I had a rare Friday night without our son so we walked the short block from our house and had a terrific meal without a wait. I love the comfy booths with taps and the beer was just perfect... I had veggie sliders (a treat since they're rarely on a menu) with delicate sweet potato fries. My husband had oysters and a spinach salad and he was said they were both great. Great service, decor and sound level not so loud that you can't enjoy a conversation... I liked the live music alot. All in all, a fine addition to the neighborhood. Thanks!

Always been a fan of this place. Never had a bad time there and drinks are always well made and on time. That is if you are there any other time besides lunch. Got there at 11:30 to find the place less than half full. We sat ourselves and the menu was delivered to us and then we waited, and waited and watched as the place got full with folks but there was still no service so we moved to the bar. The bartender there has always been great and got us our drinks right away but still nobody cared to take our order. It was at this point the waitress came by to take an order from the table next to us who arrived after we did that I asked the waitress what the soup of the day was to which she turned around and flat out said "No soup today" and walked away before I could ask to have the order placed. REWD! Didnt even ask if tere was anything that we needed just waltzed away!! Eventually the manager took our order at about 12:10. Then waited and waited until I had to say something to the staff that we cant wait any longer and will be taking our food to go. They politely apologized and explained that they only had ONE cook in the back and that another just arrived (this is at 12:35). I really am not interested in hearing about how poorly staffed you guys are and to tell me that its an exceptionally busy day is still no excuse. I ordered a half sandwich and a flippin' salad for Christ's sake and in my opinion it should of been no longer than 20 minutes to get our order. Finally get our order, and another apology, but at this point I'm thinking that maybe even the fries would be on the house? NOPE! sent us on our way with our half sandwich and side salad that they didn't even give us a utensil to eat with!!! Sorry for the long play by play. I still have high hopes for this place but today was one of the worst experiences I've had anywhere. Ciao!

Food was OK, it took 40 minutes to get! RIDICULOUS... for a lettuce wrapped burger. The curly haired blonde waitress thought she was Peter Pan and pranced around the room like she was in the showcase showdown..... Peter Pan can you please get our food????? Please!!! Less prancing & more working... No napkins, no mayo, no mustard, & no asking if everything was good.... She SUCKED!!! Send Peter Pan to never never land!

Just came from my first of many evenings at the Pour House - although a new establishment, they are on the right track. a few notes: Staff - everyone is friendly! My waitress didn't know the exact bar inventory (which is huge), so she introduced me to a bartender and we all talked bourbon (which I can do for hours!) Admittedly, the food service was spotty - have you ever started up a service business? It takes a couple of weeks to get supply, stock, and inventory dialed in. In the meantime, enjoy one of the amazing selections of beer and liquor, relax with your friends, and enjoy one of Sac town's better watering holes. I'll be a regular.

The fig whiskey cocktail here completely converted me into a whiskey lover. Yes its loud and expensive but it's also nicely styled and the vibe is different than any other bar in Sac. My only compliant is that the TV above the bar ruins the vibe for me. I don't know if its the TV itself or the unflattering zombie light it gives off but they would be doing us a favor if they turned it off!!!

Service was great! For a busy Sunday morning, staff was excellent. They should take a cue from Fox and Goose and just set the coffee out on the bar for self service. Waiting for coffee is no fun. This is a fun place with a cool look and I appreciated the blues music playing as opposed to the pop crap most places play. But now for the two stars part of my review.. This is a prime example of how most places in Sacramento seem to be..they have a good idea, but the execution falls short. :-( To be fair, I think most everyone in there was in there for what must be a famous bloody mary because everyone was drinking one.. Since I had to head to work, I ordered only food. The prices are awesome..but I think the food reflects the cheap pricing. I ordered the spinach omlete without bacon. ( i dont eat pork or red meat which left almost no choice without this option. ) My sweetie ordered the denver omlette and one of their "beer battered bannana bread waffle" which our server highly reccomended. The omlettes came fast...but what a bummer. They come with a couple spoonfulls of their house potatoes..which were the best part of the meal. Ordering my omletre sans pork resulted in a way overcooked mess of egg with chopped spinach mixed into the egg. It was folded like an omlette...but when i cut into it: there was NOTHING inside!! No cooked spinach..no cheese...no nothin! It came with nothing..no toast..just a hard rubbery mess of egg and the afformentioned meager serving of potato. Come on Pourhouse! Offer something delicious! ( that does not mean it must include everyones requisite bacon! Sigh. Boyfriends denver at least looked a bit betrer and did include a small sprinkle of cheddar cheese. The hyped waffle...almost inedible. Apparently, it is a banana bread waffle because of the inclusion of banana bread ale. Otherwise..its just a big hard ordinary waffle topped with banana. Best part of that was the maple syrup witb whiskey in it. Overall super blase and unless i need to try that bloody mary, I cant see going back.

This bar is too crowded for my liking. I'm more of a mid-day, afternoon, happy hour type of drinker anyway. Perhaps that comes with old age. As busy as it is I have found the bartenders to be quick, and attentive enough so as not to make you feel like another face. I would definitely recommend going to this place with friends...never alone...

Stopped by Pour House for the first time last week for some appetizers and a few beers. Great atmosphere, has an old speakeasy feel to it. Great selection of beers and speciality drinks. We ordered the cheese sticks which are a grilled cheese sandwich cut into sticks with a marinana dipping sauce and sweet potato fries. The fries were perfect and crisp. I liked the cheese sticks too but wasn't wild about the sauce. The pilsner and stout we ordered were very good. This is a great place just to hang out, will definitely be back. Rumor has it they do deals on whisky shots when the train rolls by. Might just check train schedule before I go back.

Pourhouse has the #1 Bloody Mary in all of CA (the mix is made at this bar by Preservation and Co) and the best ginger beer I've had in my life! Real chunks of ginger! The ambiance is great and what's not to love about discount shots when the train rattles by. :)

This is my new favorite place for Sunday Brunch! My husband and I both got the chicken and waffles, with a side of biscuits and gravy to share. The chicken was so tender on the inside and so light and crispy on the outside. The waffles were seriously tasty...especially with Sriracha butter and Whiskey maple syrup on top. Sriracha butter...fabulous! I had an Irish Coffee, which was delicious. For breakfast dessert, I ordered a Moscow Mule, which has become my favorite drink recently. So, I reviewed another Moscow Mule a while back. One from Capital Dime. It was good. But the one made for me at Pour House is most definitely the best I've had. I told the waiter (who was very friendly, prompt, and generally awesome) that I wanted it to be pretty strong on the ginger. And, holy ginger, Batman! It was fantastic!! Aside from the food, the decor is very cool, the noise level was just fine, even when crowded for brunch. The atmosphere was so comfortable, my husband and I stayed after our meal and sat at the bar, finishing our drinks while watching the US men's hockey team beat the Russians in the preliminary round at Sochi. Pretty great Sunday out!

Simple put, this place ROCKS! The beer selection is insane. Tons of beers on tap and like 100+ of bottles. Not just your normal beers, but an amazing selection. The staff is very helpful at explaining the selection. The food was great. It's bar food with a cool twist. I hate to call it bar food, as it's amazing. Cheers to the chef! We did a party in the back, and it was great. The service was fast and accurate. The outside are was perfect for our crowd. All and all, do yourself a favor and check this place out. Oh, get a table with your own two taps of beer and a tap of whiskey! Cheers to the pourhouse crew. You guys knocked it out of the park!

i went to Pour House on Sunday at 430pm for a very late lunch w my family. The service was great, the drinks were delicious but the food was unacceptable. Gross even. The normally delicious sweet potato fries were soggy and so salty they made my lips hurt. The veg burger was boring and the cuke salad just too much. I definitely applaud them for trying something new on a veg burger but the amt of cuke salad they put on there was larger then the patty! Another person in the party got veg sliders and the tahini dressing makes the bland patty even more bland. The bbq.sauce is AMAZING, rivals the one from Jacks. ;) I heard others in my party saying the tri tip and pulled pork were delicious. The drink I had this time was the Airmail and it was DELICIOUS!

They have a great selection of beers (both on tap and in bottles) and make their own hand-crafted cocktails - which is a nice touch. Their menu is small but their food is good. They have a special brunch menu and their bloody Mary's are very good (I think they even won some award - #1 in Sacramento? or something). They sometimes have trivia on Monday nights and that is a lot of fun. Al-in-all the place is very chill and a great place to meet friends for a drink or a quick dinner during the week. They have live music on some nights as well.

Four stars at the bar. A fine beer list. Bartenders who take some pride in their recommendations and don't disappoint. I like the fact that they are dressed up and not sloppy. The cocktails are smart, deceivably strong, not syrupy sweet. Fresh ingredients used. Syrups, jams, and juices all house made I believe. It's a great place to wet your whistle. The ambiance is attractive as well. Great booths, a few with taps. L shaped bar with lots of seating. The brick walls and the stripped down, old timey light fixtures work well together without it feeling to cold. Behind the bar is a small spiral staircase leading to a mezzanine and I hear they have a DJ up there on Thursdays. Super cute idea. Three stars for the food and table seating. The taps are a great idea and are a big hit if you like one of the beers on tap. One of the perks is you can pour half beers, that way it stays cold if you like to nurse your pint (like I do and get yelled at for all the time). The food is not bad its just that its only slightly better than your typical bar food. The hostess and waitresses seem to be a little on the slow side, but the owner/manager is gregarious and enthused about his spot. I know for certain that the Pour House will be in heavy rotation for happy hour.

Moo was a great bartender! He made some amazing drinks and provided great service and conversation. This place is has the most awesome atmosphere and style. Filament lighting, brick walls, rustic hardware, and not to mention the beer taps at the booths. Wish I lived in Sac just to visit this place more often...very cool!

Second time around - once again, 5+ stars. I had the Denver omelet, chunks of black forest ham, omelet cooked perfectly. Potatoes had great flavor. My husband got the chicken and waffles - I never really got the concept or tried it....until Sunday. Holy smokes - flavor explosion. The waffle was perfectly crisp, chicken well seasoned and crispy yet moist and tender and siracha butter topped it off. Home run! And it was packed, however, the staff handled it perfect and our bottomless mimosa's and beer was never empty. SCORE

I remember when this use to be Whiskey Wild (if the name is not correct, oops its been awhile). The bartenders here are awesome (Moo, Thank you, you're the best). The draft tables are so cool. I would like to see something like that at a wine bar. Its fun and adds to the moment you are sharing with good people. Just don't stay in the front of the house, get up and explore the back too.

When we first walked in, I was like, "whoa". Their theme is prohibition-era as evidenced by the decor and uniforms. There were two girls in the corner who were posing for photos and looked like they walked out of a black and white photograph... that was a trip. I ordered gumbo (daily special) and my wife had the Philly Cheesesteak. Both were FANTASTIC. I will be back. They showcase as a bar, but I was very impressed by the quality of our meals. Lastly, SWEET POTATO FRIES... get them.

Excellent Bloody Mary's! What brought us here was an article in the newspaper about where to find the best Bloody Mary's and Pour House was named! We planned on getting a quick drink and then off to another restaurant for dinner but once we had their Bloody Mary's we decided to stay for dinner. The service was outstanding as our bartender was attentive and did a wonderful job with the Bloody Mary's and later...a couple of martinis. The Bloody Mary's are sooo tasty they actually sell their mix! I bought two bottles and can't wait to add a little Grey Goose and enjoy at home. Their Reuben sandwich and potato salad were amazing! They also had live music which was a perfect ending to an already nice evening! Will definitely return....

Brunch Review- Went in on a Saturday for brunch and was really surprised by how tasty and affordable the food was. Got the chicken and waffles with a biscuit and gravy on the side. Chicken was cooked perfectly, and while a little salty the crunchy sriracha breading totally made up for it. Waffle was large and tasty. Biscuit was a bit dense and doughy but the gravy was pretty good. Craft cocktail prices are a bit high (she got the whiskey fig and I got a beer) and it was a little noisy out on the patio when the train came by. But hey I got a $2 shot of jack for it! In short I will definitely be back real soon!

Went to Pour house recently on a lunch break. Food was good but not only did we have to wait 40 min to be served, the place was half empty. Ended up having to take our food to go. I would go again but maybe when I had more time to spare.

Cool decor. Copper mugs for your mule. Delicious not-too-sweet cocktails. Fantastic meaty sandwiches. Sure to please men and ladies. Go early if you are not into crowds.

Great service, great food, and great variety of drinks. I loveeeee hard cider and this is the only place I've found to have variety AND cider on tap. Pulled pork sandwich, sweet potato fries, and hard cider are my fav.

Just got back from this place on Grand Opening day. Great decor. Great beer selection. Unfortunately, they have some kinks to work out with the kitchen. It took us almost 2 hours to get our food which is unacceptable. Yes, I said 2 hours. I'm assuming that won't be the case once they get everything worked out. The food, when it finally came, was phenomenal. I had the salmon sandwich with sweet potato fries which was really, really great. The two beers I had helped diffuse my annoyance at the lack of acceptable food service. I'll be back. I want to check out the table taps. Big fan of technology being integrated into bars.

I absolutely love the Pour House and their staff. They totally went out of their way to make room for our party of 12 at pretty much the last minute. We had to wait a little while but the hostess continued to come out and check on us and to give us a status update on the seating. The waiters/waitresses are super attentive and very friendly. They have a great selection of both food and drinks and the atmosphere is fun. Plus every time a train goes by you can order $2 shots of whiskey. I will definitely be going back.

I've been here over an hour and they still haven't taken my food order. The old fashioned I ordered is tiny and there's a ridiculously huge ice cube in it. I got 2 teaspoons worth of an old fashioned. Recommended if you're retired and have all day to wait.

I've only been here on the weekdays, but each time I'm there I've had nothing but good services, decent food, good drinks and overall a great atmosphere. Definitely a place I'll be going back to!

Went for lunch on their grand opening. Awesome decor, felt like I was in a mix between a miners' tavern and a 1930's speakeasy. Had the smoked tri-tip sandwich, which happened to be one of the best I have ever had. And the best part ..... EYE OF THE HAWK on draft. Will definitely be returning. Excellent staff, quality and well-rounded draft selection, very reasonably priced. Great spot. I wish them nothing but success.

I second my first instinct on service. The bartenders are awesome. My cup runneth over (with booze and delight).

I'm going to be pissed if this place doesn't make it. But if their level of service and management doesn't make a dramatic turn for the better, it's heading into the gutter like so many other places in town have. The pros: OUTSTANDING beer selection, whoever is doing their ordering knows a thing or two about brew; Very cozy and comfortable rustic pub atmosphere; menu offering is spot on for a brew pub; the waitresses are polite and attractive. The con: Abyssmal service. Seven of us rolled in for a Friday lunch at about 11:30. The place was far from packed, I'd say it was at 30% capacity. We ordered a round of brews and it took 10 minutes before they arrived at the table. Not the end of the world, but you know...we ordered our food before our pints hit the table top. Then things got a little bit worse: 10-15 minutes later two of seven meals arrived. 5-10 minutes passed before the next two sandwiches came out. Then a few minutes later my sandwich arrived. Then 15 minutes after that, my buddy's wings arrived. How in the hell does it take a span of 20-30 minutes for an entire table's meal to arrive? I'll tell you how: a poorly managed kitchen. That being said, the food was good. I got the catfish po' boy (great flavor, a little scant on the fish), my buddies got the philly cheesesteak and they liked it. Quite a few of us got the sweet potato fries and they are amongst the best in town IMO. So there's no problem with the quality of food, but the delivery is a disaster. I hate to be a hater, and I'll be back, but I'll be hesitant to go for anything other than brewskis. We didn't get to try the table taps, but I'm sure they are pretty rad. Anywho, I hope this place improves because it could be great. Here's to hoping!

I love the interior and lighting of this place, it creates a unique and appealing atmosphere. Crowded bar and difficult to get a table but that is a sign of a good business if you ask me. I really enjoyed their signature (i think it is) cocktail the Moscow Mule which is ginger beer, lemonade and vodka served in a chilled copper mug. Sad they have to take a deposit for the cup, but that is the classless consumers faults that steal and not the business'. I wished the staff would have kept to a more strict dress code of a old time saloon.

I'm still up and down on Pour House. I like the location, because it's removed from all the craziness of J street. The inside is extremely nice, it looks classy and it's extremely spacious. They have a great selection of drinks and the food looks amazing. I also think the taps at the tables are genius. The problems I have for this place are as a late night spot. Once all the tables are taken up and the bar is full, there isn't really anywhere to stand. You either have a table or you're at the bar. The back patio area is ridiculously small. It's cool for smoking a stoge real quick, but hanging out back there isn't always an option. The worst part is the bathroom situation. One stall and one urinal for this huge bar that always has a pretty good crowd. I've been during the day and loved it, but the night was another thing. Still really like this place though!

I have a friend who has spoken very highly of this place so I decided to try it for brunch. We walked in and the hostess who seemed very young and inexperienced (think deer in headlights) explained it would be a half an hour wait. I looked at the four empty tables in a restaurant which (was very small and only had a handful of tables I could see) and inquired about them. She explained they were reserved for her manager. I admit, my response was sarcastic "all of them"? Yes, all of them.... With the exception of one. Okayyy. I asked about that one vacant booth and was told our party of two was too small to be seated there. Only a party of four could sit there. I am not sure what this place is about, and due to nonsensical seating and poor service, I won't find out. Too bad, but if you want to be a profitable restaurant in downtown you need to do better than that. We took our business elsewhere.

I liked the layout of the bar and the interior design. Good beer selection and service was fair. The Thursday night theme of loud DJ house music is odd considering it does not fit the atmosphere and is misleading. If I wanted to dance on a Thursday night I would not be at Q & 20th. Suggestion to management would be to drop the Thursday DJ theme as it is contrary to why most people would go there.

A friend and I tried this place for the first time last night, and we were not disappointed! The place was full, even on a Tuesday night, but service was still pretty speedy. We had the sweet potato fries with sriracha ketchup and the bacon mac and cheese. The portion sizes were pretty decent considering they were side dishes, and the prices weren't bad. The meals seem expensive, but from what we saw on other patrons' plates you get what you pay for! The beer selection is AWESOME, and I love that they have a bunch of unique craft beers on tap. The taps at the table looked cool, but we didn't sit at one considering there were only two of us. I would definitely go back here with a group. Also, I thought the train would bother me, but it just adds to the ambiance. (Also, the $2 shots of Jack probably now elicit some sort of Pavlovian response in me... how can you hate a train when it means whiskey is coming??) I would highly recommend this place!

I have now been here for lunch and brunch. Lunch was yummy (Tri-tip sandwiches and bacon mac 'n cheese) however service was a little slow. Brunch was also impressive with endless mimosas made with fresh squeezed orange juice. My eggs benedict and breakfast potatoes were delicious, but my friend's Banana nut bread waffle left much to be desired. Overall, friendly staff and really cool atmosphere.

I orderes the pour house burger, with cheese and bacon, cooked medium, and a Bud Light. The burger was small and cooked well-done, and hardly warm. Medium means hot and pink in the middle. Well done means no pink. My burger was overcooked and then it set out. The pickles and vegetables included with the burger were of high quality and very fresh. For the price, I had higher expectations. The menu looks interisting overall; and the novelty of pouring your own beer from a tap has obvious appeal. I could tell quality ingrediants were utilized, but cooking something completely wrong is an unforgivable sin for a "gastro-pub" that portrays themselves as taking food seriously, and this should be very embarrassing. The details matter and need to be executed consistently and accurately to survive in the hyper-competitive restraunt industry.

I've been part of restaurant opening so believe me I know how hard it can be and that things can and will go wrong, now, that being said... My friends and I came in on a Sunday evening. The place wasn't packed by any means. The waitress took are beer order pretty promptly but then proceeded to take 15 minutes to get our drink orders to us. There is no excuse for that. If something was going on she should have updated us not just ignore us. Then it took her another 30 minutes to come and get our food order. The food was good... they were out of a lot of things but they just had their opening so that is understandable. The coolest part about that place is that you have your own personal taps at your table! You would think that the wait staff would be excited about that too.... Well, they clearly were not. I mean, that is something that no one else has in Sacramento! The waitress never even talked to us about it. I would have thought it would have been the first thing she would have talked about.... Let us know how it works etc. We were all there way too long and we all left pretty disappointed and kind of irritated. I am not giving up on this place... I'll come back. I think they just need to find their groove.

Beer was great, sweet potato fries were great, service sucked. It wasn't really the waitresses fault, when she ordered our drinks and rang it in her job was basically done. The main reason for us waiting was the bartender, he was taking pictures playing on his phone mingling with the staff wasting my time basically. My friends and I were just watching him just playing around the whole time. We got our drinks in I was enjoying the ipa's we did have to walk up to our waitress for the check (really the only mistake she did.) Funny thing is when we asked for our check the bartender finally spoke up and asked if we wanted that last drink (we ordered that drink a little less than 20 minutes prior from that moment) Beer and food was really good so if you go here I recommend you ride the bartender a little.

Well, I made a second trip. This time, it was a (surely typically) busy Friday night. I was there primarily to see Carly DuHain -- that part of the evening did not disappoint. However, this place has *serious* accessibility issues that are amplified tenfold when it's busy. There is a lowered accessible area at the bar (on the left, right up against where the stage was set) but it is severely wedged into a corner, and the stage takes up some of that floorspace. That area was completely packed in with people when I first arrived, but fortunately staff was kind enough to clear them out. Unfortunately, this area is almost completely ignored by bartenders. I'm not sure if it was because it was busy or what, but I was overlooked numerous times by multiple bartenders. And although the accessible area is lowered, it is a fairly deep bar, so there's quite a distance to yell out to get any sort of attention. *All* of the tables in this place are bar height, meaning that I will never suggest this place for a meal. I don't want to feel like a dwarf, eating alone at a full 2 feet lower than my friends. I've seen this done in other places that have just opened, but I must say that I do not like this trend at all. The booths with the fancy taps are a tiny bit lower, but they are oddly situated so that a wheelchair would not fit at the ends of them. Anyhow, I don't think I'll be back when it's busy. And I seriously doubt that I will ever eat a meal here. Maybe the patio is better...

The food here is good. I had the shrimp po boy sandwich and it isn't bad. I'd definitely recommend it. The beer selection is great. You can pour your own beer at your table thus why its called Pour House. Full bar at night. The night life in this place isn't all that great. Its completely dark inside. This is a better place for a dinner before going out into the town but make sure you go before 9pm. But the setting is nice even though its dark. You interior design is very unique with the way the bricks are set up on the wall. Very modernized and a great visual.

I have not been able to make it here after work to try out the 'pour it yourself' thing. Great sandwiches from Coast to coast though... great. I hope that they make it suspect that the location will be tough.

I'm glad I stuck to my two-visits-before-reviewing rule for Pour House, because the first time I visited, I was over this place pretty quickly. Opening weekend, half of the beer list was out, service was incredibly and confusingly slow...but that's all in the past. Since then I've been back with friends and a date, and have been pleased with my experiences. Any place that has 21st Amendment Back in Black on tap gets an automatic star. I'll definitely be back to get my beer fix.

Nice atmosphere! Live music, good food and love the way the bartenders are dressed. In addition, your own tap to pour beers or Jameson at the booth tables. My sister-in-law ordered bbq ribs and little over done.

This review is based solely on the bar and not the food. This place has 2 bars, a back patio, and big dining section with taps on the booth tables. The micro beer and craft spirits selection is one of the best in the area. Overall great setup, attentive bar service and great scene.

I have been here before and wanted to try different atmospheres to write my review. Well it is different every time and it's always packed but it's a small place. The food is by the west coast sandwich food truck (which is delicious). Tried their special which was the jack Daniels ribs and the pol boy sandwich which was GOOD! It was good company and try their drink and which I'm not a whiskey person but good and fruity. Its called fig whiskey. It's one block of ice cube and the liqueur which is good. It's a mist try even if you aren't a whiskey person.

Really good cocktail list and food. Reminds me a lot of The Rick House in SF. Great to have another option down town. Only wish they had a bigger Gin and Vodka selection. St. George Gin and Hanger One Vodka would be nice.

Discovered this little gem while surfing the yelp review for beer. Went here with a couple friends on a Saturday night. I called ahead and made a reservation for a booth at 6:30 pm. Spoke with Maddie who was very polite and accommodating. Arrived on time and found that our reserved table had been taken by a group. Maddie took care of this little issue and we were seated promptly. We started with a round of pints, Ballast Point Sculpin IPA! The service was very good if a little slow, place was busy. I had the Kobe burger, cooked medium to order, very tasty. My significant other had the cheese steak, arrived luke warm, tried to send back to warm it up and were told the kitchen can not do that. Oh well, overall a nice place to get a great beer and hang with friends. The Pour House will be on our to go spots when in Sacto.

It is hard to find places that use all natural ingredients in their drinks apart from Zocalo, Shady Lady, and Mayahuel....so when I found Pour House right in the middle of downtown, I was stoked! It has a shady lady/burgers and brews feel. Their drinks are super yummy and like I said they use natural ingredients. They take longer to make because they do hand crafted cocktails, not just 7-11 slurpee margaritas out of the machine ;) so you do have to wait a bit but that is part of the going out experience! I loved it there and will definitely be going back. The prices are super reasonable too. $7 cocktails? Please and thank you. Go Pour House!

Love the food and great beer selection!!! Had the buffalo wings and Rogue Dead Man beer. YUM! Especially like the beer taps at your own booth! You can call to reserve a booth with your own beer to pour!

Pour House is great. Awesome crowd and great service, specifically Alexus! They have great music and even have keg tabs at booths! HOWEVER... They got rid of the bacon Mac n cheese which was their signature. Greatly disappointed about that considering we would make trips to pour house just for that.

We stopped in on the first week open as standard for my antsy family. The beer selection is great and the snacks are very tasty and not at all diet food. We tried the cheese sticks with tomatoey dip, mac and cheese with bacon crisps and fries. The service was a bit slow but apologetic and genuine. The beer selection is large and the whiskey at the booths option, seems a bit scary. The scene is stylish and old fashioned. Loved the stairs going up to the office and cute guy outfits; slacks, caps and suspenders. The scene was a bit douchy and young for my taste, but I am not too concerned, as long as I keep it to afternoon and dinner time and stay away from bar scene time.

I went into Pour House a couple of weeks ago. I doubt I'll go back. The bartenders were jerks. It wasn't very crowed when my friend and I arrived. We found a place at the bar right in the middle. We were ignored for too long and when the bartender finally asked what I wanted. He didn't even bother to say hello or walk over to where I was. I asked for a whisky "over". He said in a flat voice "over what". I find it hard to believe that he didn't know what I was talking about. Maybe the matching wannabe hipster bartenders should try to be a bit nicer. We decided to move to a table after we got our drinks. The waitress was lovely and the busser was friendly. The food was good but the snobby bartenders need to get over themselves.

Stay away! The ONLY reason this place gets one star is the server (petite brunette, calls everyone "luv") for handling her mix-up well. Came in at 545 on a Thursday - got a table just before it got crowded (not a pour table, one of the regulars). Ordered drinks and food - waited TWENTY minutes for a drink. After nearly an hour, we realized everyone around us, who arrived after us, had gotten their food. So we check with the server, who confirmed that the kitchen had forgotten about us/screwed up our order. She did manage to rush the replacement order and take the food off the bill which was super sweet. But, the food is ATROCIOUS: the mac n cheese looks like cafeteria food you'd find for $1.95, the sweet potato fries were mediocre at best, and the grilled cheese sticks are the worst grilled cheese I've ever had (believe me, grilled cheese sammies are my fav). Soggy, greasy, tasteless and crooked (come on, you can't stick two pieces of pre-cut bread together?!?!?!) Another friend who I bumped into had a similar experience - waited 25 minutes for a damn drink. Hey manager, how about you wise up and learn how to run a business. Instead of having idiot hostesses and managers who walk around doing nothing, why not make it a self-seat spot, and put those individuals to work - you clearly need more waitstaff AND people behind the bar/kitchen. Wake up before you run your business into the ground.

Tried the fig whiskey - very unique and delicious. Great presentation as well! We also thoroughly enjoyed the smoked tri tip sandwich, probably the best one I've EVER eaten (better than My BBQ Spot and Buckhorn which I adore). Brilliant smoky flavor and the spicy sriracha infused bbq sauce that comes with it MMMMM. And sriracha ketchup for the fries upon request - yes please! Lastly, we tried the bacon mac'n'cheese and it was truly yummy too. Very impressive. Only concern is how slow the kitchen was but the food was certainly worth the wait and I know this is common with new kitchens. Haven't tried the pour stations at the tables along the walls but they look awesome and I can really appreciate the concept. Huge variety of whiskeys and beer, your liver and taste buds will never be bored here.

Meh. Came here on a Thursday night. Crowded with slow service. The beer tasted weird like they don't clear their lines or something. The food was extremely bleh. I ordered the Kobe burger and it was extremely bland. The place has a good atmosphere tho. Good place to just sit at the bar and order a drink.
