This placed served up the best BBQ Chicken plate I ever had in all of the L&L restaurants I tried. The chicken was moist saucy, and full if flavor. It was accompanied with Mac salad and freshly cooked rice. I'll be bak!

I love the masubi here. Beside that I don't care for their any other dishes.

Its ok, hit or miss depending on what I order. I stick to the loco moco now. For fast food its good.

It's pretty good for an occasional lunch, and it's a good value. This is by far the best L&L in town. Portions are larger, food is hotter, and it's very clean and spacious, compared to others. If you're stuck in Greenhaven for lunch, it's worth checking out.

Love the food at this L&L location. Favorites are the chicken katsu, lumpia, and beef terikyaki. If you save some room for dessert, try their homemade LoLo freeze. It's like Gunther's but has better flavors like POG, passion orange, and pineapple. I have also ordered party trays several times and it is always a hit with people!

Every time I come here the food is always delicious and the service is great. I suggest calling in your order on their busy nights so you don't have to wait. I love their shrimp, macaroni salad, and pork.

Why did I wait so long to try this place?? My first time here. I had the special, which was seame chicken. I got the mini. Wow, it was a lot of food!! Definitely worth the price. I also tried the lumpia, nothing too exciting there. Their food is definately fresh and made to order. I can't wait to go back and try something else. I got to prepare myself for my first trip to Hawaii in December. Lol!!

I've been going here since it opened and I can't say I've had any problems here. Everything comes out as it should. The only thing I can say is the wait can get long around lunch; but that doesn't surprise me much. I like the katsu curry, kalua pork, loco mocos, fried fish, and BBQ beef the most. The musubis are always a good choice. Everything on the menu is good but I usually come here with my mind made up already. If you want an island plate lunch this LnL will not let you down.

Food was very good. The only thing was my macaroni with mayo where SUPER salty and tasted alot like garlic. Besides that food was great. Got the bbq mix plate. Wife got the katsu chicken. You get alot of food. Once you've finished ur plate you'll be set for the entire day! Will definitely go again.

I've been going here for years and finally going to write a review. The service here is great but I usually call my order in so I don't have to wait. Big portions for a good price. I always get my comfort food... the loco moco with easy over eggs. My boys enjoy the bbq and chicken katsu. We usually ask them to replace our rice with macaroni salad and for them to put all our macaroni salads in one box (Don't like macaroni salad warm....) They always get our order right!:)

I always get the spam masubi which satisfy me all the time. sometimes it can be wet or too hot the seaweed gets soggy and then it be hard to chew. I like getting the bbq chicken breast plate its so tasty and I feel less guilt and I usually prefer the brown rice over the white rice. its always a long wait for the food and sometimes the line can be long.

The staff are very friendly. I've been to a few locations, and so far, I like this one best. Good location, and food is almost always consistent. My favorites are; chicken katsu, spam saimin, Lau Lau and pork combo, and spam musubi. A good tip for takeout is, you should expect an average 25-45 min wait during peak lunch and dinner times. I once waited an hour for takeout. They have gained popularity in the neighborhood, causing the waits to be longer now.

Great selection of healthy items. I always go when they have the Groupon deal, otherwise I forget. Their Bacon Cheddar fries ($6ish) are ridiculously good. The bacon was seriously mountain high and the fries were extra crispy. Typically, fries that come with toppings are soggy, but man, they laid down the law and smacked those fries sure they're crunchy to the bite. They were still crunchy four hours later for dinner. I was impressed. As for the healthy option, I had the garlic fish meal ($7.50) under the healthy options section. Came with a salad, brown rice, and four pieces of fish. Caloric values are listed on the menu, it was no more than 500 for my plate.

Great food and great service! The lady behind the counter was friendly and prompt. Great for kids, too.

So this is my second time to L&L Hawaaian barbecue in my life. First time was the one in laguna. Anyway, at this one, the lady whom served was pretty nice. She let me take my time. Food came out pretty quick, like 10 minutes? I ordered the chicken katsu, which was good, but cost like a BUCK more than the one in laguna...wth? why so? Anyway, other than that everything is goood, nice place, nice employees.

Okay, I've been to 6 L&L locations in the Sacramento area and this has to be the cleanest feeling and most "professional". You can kinda see the kitchen and it's well lit and very stainless steel. Looks clean in the kitchen. They were so busy that they had two girls working the registers and getting the orders out. So glad I happen to be in the area to see this mothership of a Sacramento L&L!!

    (5)
  • Ker F.

I wasn't too happy with my last visit to this L&L ... The girl at the register took a phone call as I was browsing the menu and it was a personal call which ended up putting her in a not so good mood and then after taking my food togo, my chicken katsu wasn't very good. It seemed like they gave me all the dry end pieces I guess the quality of food and customer service is Hit or Miss!! Luckily today the macaroni salad was good ...

Not bad Hawaiian food. And I love that they have spam musubi. It's a bit pricey, but most Hawaiian food is.

Good food, great portions, and busy. I like that they host local music and singers. They should do this more often.

  • K C.

Food: pretty good. I have been to this location at least 5-10 times for to go only....I usually get different BBQ plates which turn out well. The meat is moist and flavorful, macaroni is much better than store bought. Good portions for the already decent price-you will be full! The katsu chicken was interesting...very dry and not much flavor. The service is aweful; unfriendly young girls who chat with each other and play on their phones RIGHT in front of customers. This has been consistent for a while no matter who's working. Poor management? I would dine in if service were better...

I've been to this L&L on several occasions as it is the only Hawaiian BBQ place in the pocket area. Their food is consistently good and their service is consistently bad. I've heard that the manager only hires young female workers to work the cash register (which I've noticed is true). They're always talking to each other and their visiting friends, not really doing much. They're not very friendly either. My boyfriend, my sister, and I decided to dine here on a Tuesday night as we thought it'd be quick and easy. Well, we were wrong. My boyfriend ordered the chicken katsu mini meal and I ordered the special ahi poke and a side of rice (the poke doesn't come with any). My sister ordered the spam saimen. We sat outside because my sister had her dog with her. Shortly after, the cashier came out and informed me that they were out of poke and she refunded the poke and rice back to my card. I went in to decide what I wanted to order instead and had to wait in line again. I decided on spam udon, another special. If they were out of poke, the special sign should be taken down immediately as to not cause confusion. My sister's saimen was brought out first. About 10 minutes later my boyfriend's food came out. The cashier asked if we were waiting for more food, and I said I ordered an udon. I was sure my food would come out soon since it was just udon, but 20 minutes later my boyfriend and sister were nearly finished with their meals. My boyfriend went in to check on my order and was informed THE ORDER NEVER WENT THROUGH. If you already ran out for my first order, wouldn't you at least check to see that my second order was correct? Ugh. And I even told the girl that I was waiting for my udon. This was my first time ordering their udon. The spam made the broth a little saltier than I would have preferred. If I order it in the future I'll just get it plain. It was a little overpriced as well. My usual favorites are the mix bbq plate or chicken katsu. L&L's food quality is pretty consistent, but their service sure needs work. It's not like they're a new establishment, so maybe the manager needs to train the workers better. I would highly suggest calling in your order as they're usually slow as well. I would give it 2.5 stars, but rounded down for bad service.

One of the best L&L I been to :) Workers here are very friendly and the place is very clean with lots of indoor and outdoor seating! It's near my house and it's a good place for lunch with friends. My favorite is the chicken katsu :) Love the macaroni salad! The service is quick. Prices are reasonable and big portions :) Parking can be a bit of a struggle since it's shared with all the nearby stores, but you'll just have to walk a little bit!

It's been awhile since I've been here. It was really good this time. We ordered the udon, mix plate, Chicken Katsu and Saimin. it was all good.

A great go-to spot for a healthy meal, my BBQ chicken plate came amply loaded with protein and a large side of greens. Prices are reasonable too. No complaints whatsoever.

  • Samantha C.

We eat here on a somewhat regular basis with somewhat mixed results. The healthy garlic shrimp is usually pretty decent. My boyfriend always orders the Chicken Katsu. Sometimes he loves it but sometimes it is great. It just isn't consistent. My big issue is that they basically close early. They turn off the grill so if you come within the last 15 minutes or so, you can only order deep fried food. I absolutely hate that...so much so that I am sitting here waiting for my order of Katsu and then I'm going to Jimboys for myself. While I've sitting here waiting, two other people have come in and walked out because of the grill situation. If you want to go home at 9:30 then just close at 9:15 and save us all the trouble.

  • Serena A.

I like the food here, but every time we order over the phone for pickup it takes like a long time. Today, we called in our order at 7:06pm, they said 20 minutes or so, I came in and paid at 7:30, but did not even receive our food until 7:56pm and when I received it my order was wrong!!! and they had to remake it. To top it off there was one person working front. I don't think I will be returning or recommending anyone I know to go here. The cashier was not even very sympathetic. Oh! And I did not receive my food with the correct order until 8:06pm. That's just not acceptable service, you shouldn't even promise 20 minutes if it's going to take a full hour. I could have dined out at a full on restaurant quicker.

  • Yin I.

Their healthy menu is delicious. I got the garlic fish with brown rice and gigantic side salad and am thoroughly satisfied with it. The sauce is pretty good too. The interior is clean and it's a great place for a study group. Service was pleasant and quick.

I've tried 3 L&L's: Laguna, Bruceville and Mack and this location is hands down the best! Friendly cashier and they have the biggest portion servings compared to the other locations. I need to get my Hawaiian fix once a month and I'm willing to drive 20 mins from Elk Grove to get here. This was my first visit so hopefully I'll be just as satisfied the second time. Whatever ya'll did today just keep doing it.

  • Kelson P.

I love the spam musubi! I didn't realize they have a healthy options menu. I will for sure give it a try. My musubi and beef bowl came to $10.01, I only had $10.00. After consulting with a coworker and about 10 seconds of that awkward silence they allowed me to pull. 1 cent from the tip jar. Bad yelp review diverted.

  • David L.

We usually phone in our order and it's always ready when promised (usually about 20 minutes after I place my order). The chicken tonkatus and BBQ mixed plate are consistently excellent with great Macaroni salad, very generous portions.

  • Jen W.

This is your usual run of the mill L&L BBQ. They are all pretty consistent across the board. I liked the location of this one. There's quite a bit of parking around and the place is easily accessible. My usual order? Mini chicken bbq...sometimes I'll sub all rice, sometimes I won't. I always have to eat the mac salad first before it gets warm. Haha. Am I the only one who does that? I cannot have warm mac salad!!! Once it gets warm, I discard it on the other side of the box. Yeah yeah, I'm weird. =D Wifey always gets the mini loco moco. The servings are always large. You can make so many substitutions to make your meal a little healthier. The prices are great. Oh yeah, and don't forget to pick up some sriracha and a spam musubi!!!

After seeing L&L signs popping up here in California and Washington for a few years, I kinda grew tired of saying, "I wanna check that place out". On a whim, I finally did one day. I was bringing lunch to share in Garcia Bend Park, and only had an hour~ I needed something quick and hot without much fuss...You know, kinda like dating in your early twenties. Ordered two bowls, One Kalua Pork, one Hawaiian BBQ Chicken. In under 7 minutes, I was out the door, having spent less than 12 bucks. *Don't forget to tip. Why? Because it was SO good. This is the kind of fast food you don't need to feel too guilty about . The Kalua was rich, mixed well with the freshly chopped cabbage and carrot~ with just enough kalua-y pork juice to mix with the perfectly steamed rice. The husband and I kinda fought over the sweet Hawaiian BBQ chicken... typical BBQ lovers. I am deathly afraid of Spam. Any canned meat, really- so I may or may not try it here one day, but I have heard how great the Spam Musubi is. These guys offer catering, party packs and combo packs for a really low price. Kinda thinking of using them this summer!

    (4)
  • Nikki S.

Spam musubi is a must try! they have a huge variety of food to choose from, good service! prices could be a litttle lower though and the fish i ate was terrible and i threw it away and ate the rest on my seafood platter. other than that every thing else is good.

Pretty good place to eat. Starting to like it more and more. Which may be a bad thing haha. Staff is pretty nice, and the food is great. It can get pretty busy on weekends though. I still need to try new things on the menu.

Located in the Lake Crest Village Shopping Center. I literally said "Oh Snap" when I looked up at the papers of miscellaneous things they offer.. They have Malasadas! Oh snap! Do they all have malasadas? Sure, it's not Leonard's but it's still deep fried bread with sugar. Okayyyy! Great addition to any of their Hawaiian BBQ entrees.. half or full plates, sides..

  • Mike L.

L&L is a good place for your hawaiian bbq fix. More specifically I have to get a Kalua Pork fix every now and then and this place hits the spot! The menu is diverse enough for anyone to find something they like. It's not the cheapest place, but the portions are big! I like how they have "healthy" substitutes like brown rice or chicken breast. They also have freeze drinks that are nice along with those really good hawaiian canned juice drinks. Those are so bomb. The place is pretty small with seating for about 20-25 maybe, but there is also seating outside. The staff is very friendly. Each time I go in they take more order with a smile and ask me how my day has gone. It's a pretty nice touch. They also bring your food out to you when its ready. Bottom line, if you need to get that hawaiian bbq, or just want to try something different than the usual, give this place a try!

    (4)
  • Bob P.

I'm actually a huge fan of this place. It's not the highest quality food or anything but it's good, and reasonably priced. I don't think I have ever had a bad experience here, and being new to the area I have found a lot of places that have let me down... I never thought a strip mall restaurant could have the amount of personality that this place does, but it's amazing. I recommend trying the bbq chicken and the fries.... the fries are freaking great!

  • Lauren B.

Standard good food on the go! I had been shopping at Nugget and we all know that nothing makes you want to find someone else to cook for you more than going grocery shopping...am I right?! The place was way more packed than I expected but the service was still friendly. I will assume the wait means that most things are cooked to order which I appreciate. Payed about $13 for the healthy BBQ chicken meal with garlic shrimp added and it did not disappoint. In fact, when the friendly cashier handed me my order she said she was going to try this exact combo for her own lunch today. I haven't ever tried the frozen treats and I pretty much get the same thing every time I go but they have never given me a reason to complain!

    (4)
  • Lynn J.

I come here all the time, the staff is nice but they are slow as hell. They keep taking orders while you food is siting behind them ready to go. Everything I go the front people is always working alone. Positive note- the food is always hot and delicious!

  • Ashley H.

Two words: MUST TRY!! I've been living in the sacramento area and working down the street from L&L for about two years now and just realized what I've been missing!! My first time I ordered the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken, just the mini is enough for me. Super filling with the rice and macaroni.. But my second and third time here I tried the Katsu Chicken, mini size, also comes with rice and macaroni , plus some special dipping sauce that goes perfect with the freshly fried chicken. The whole combo will make your taste buds going wild and leave you craving more and more!! Go order Katsu Chicken NOW!!

  • Priscilla V.

This is probably the cleanest L&L left. I drive all the way to Greenhaven just for it. The spam musubi is a must! It never fails for me. Everyone is always super friendly, but it could get pretty packed.

When this L&L first opened ,up in the Nugget shopping center by our house, we really enjoyed the food. Our favorite was the seafood combo with the fried shrimp, Mahi Mahi, and scallops. The large order was very generous ! lots of jumbo shrimp, perfectly cooked large sweet scallops, and huge pieces of moist fish. As time has gone by we've noticed things changing little by little. The size of the scallops got smaller, they must have changed suppliers or something, they just weren't plump and flavorful any more. Then the portion size has gotten smaller, less shrimp, scallops, & fish. The last 2 times we ordered from them not only was the portion for the large order skimpy, but both the Mahi Mahi & the scallops were over cooked. The fish was so dry that even dousing it in lemon juice and drowning it in tarter sauce couldn't save it. The scallops were so over cooked that we didn't know what they were at first, they were little shriveled up dark brown balls. Only after dissecting them, and noticing the scallops were missing, did we deduce that they were supposed to be the scallops. We haven't been back since.

This is the second time I've come to this restaurant, and it is still as amazing as the first time. We always get the spam musubi because it's the best musubi there is. The cashier are all very nice and polite, however there is one cashier that act a bit snobby like she knew what I was going to order. That's why I'm only giving it a four stars. Ohh, the place is so clean compare to other restaurant.

    (4)
  • Lisa L.

Yummy spam musubi! The place is pretty clean and spacious. I walked in on a Wednesday night and there was only one other person there. Yay! I was worried there was going to a line and long wait from the other reviews. The girl took my order and I think it took about 5 minutes or so? Used up five of my lives in candy crush while waiting. I always get the mini so have room for a spam musubi. I always get the BBQ chicken. Yum. Can't go wrong with classic food.

I like L&L food. I think they are serving it the best way they can; which I love to eat at least once a while. However, I hope they make sure that the whole restaurant and bathroom are always neat and clean.

I love their BBQ mix plate and their chicken katsu plate. The service is okay depending on age server. If you get the older asian gentlemen it will most likely be very good but the two or three younger female cashiers are not very professional the make you wait by answering personal phone calls or restaurants calls even though you were first in line or before the call was made. Also sometimes they chitchat with the cooks behind them being oblivious at your presence making your order wait time longer than it needs to be. Some of the cooks as well are not very professional. I once heard them get into a verbal fight using very explicit language disregarding my presence while they fought. The restaurant is very clean and gas a customer only bathroom. Its parking area is part of the shopping center. So good luck finding parking that's near the restaurant on holidays or during peek hours. I eat there every other week when I get tired of my usual takeout food, the food taste and quality are always consistent which is a plus. The price runs about 5 to 7 bucks plus tax for a mini plate and 8 to 10 plus tax for a regular size plate. Overall the restaurant gets a 4/5 rating the food is very good and service is okay most of the time.

Sometimes I just crave Hawaiian Barbecue, and this is the closest location. My family and I have tried out most things on the menu and the food here is comparable to other L&L locations. In addition to the usual offerings, this location also serves malasadas, lolos (frozen slushy desserts, like Merlinos), and other goodies. This location is pretty quick with preparing orders, in general. But the customer service is hit or miss. Some of the younger workers behind the counter don't seem to know how to multi-task and it causes a back-up in the line. Also, they seem to frequently run out of items- even when it's not that late in the day. The last two times I've ordered food, they've been out of barbecue beef, and it wasn't even 6:30 p.m. yet. Also, they wouldn't let me substitute it with another item. Notes: -Plenty of parking in the shared parking lot (Lakecrest village).

I like to drop by for work lunches and order the Healthy Garlic Shrimp plate. It's lower in calories since it has brown rice and salad instead of macaroni salad. I've tried the spam noodles but it was just like eating ramen. Not special. I like the spam musubi. Makes me want to get some with the garlic shrimp for my next lunch now! Love love their Malasadas. So hot and fresh, so bad for you! I like the Hawaiian music playing in the background. Doesn't feel like Hawaii at all but the music is nice.

Waited for over 20 minutes and my healthy garlic shrimp plate was horrible!! Basically boiled shrimp with lots of garlic on top. I called and asked how it was prepared and was told it was sautéed. No color to the shrimp so defiantly not sautéed! The best part of this plate was the huge salad that came with it. The shrimp are so gross I threw it away!

L&L at this location does not come short of any other location. Delish! However, on one particular night the wait was very long. I ordered two orders of chicken katsu to-go. After waiting for about 15 minutes at a table right in front of the cashier, I decided it was about time to check up on my meal since I noticed the crowd coming in after me had already received their food. I'm pretty sure they missed my order. Though they did not admit it, the cashier gave me complimentary lumpia and assured me my food was on the way. How can I not get soft and forgive them because the lumpia was yummy! I received my food shortly after like she said and was excited to bring some lumpia home to my brother. We chowed down and knocked out. mmmlicious! As such, I would say they are doing their best with their service since it was a crowded evening.

this was a tiny whole-in-the-wall that you could easily miss while cruising down Broadway we came to a Groupon deal. The owner seemed to be present, he was pretty nice although his cashier looked like a gangster. The food took a while to come out, but it was good as usual. The place is fairly clean, I would come back to this location if their was another deal.

  • Chris K.

My daughter loves this place and she finally talked me in to going. The girl at the counter said it would take 15 minutes for our order to be ready. It actually took 30 minutes from the time I paid until the time we walked out with our order. If you like lukewarm greasy overpriced food, then this is the place for you. I will not be returning.

I was super stoked when an L&L opened up close to my house. I've been going here for a while. Some L&Ls are hit or miss. I like this L&L location and I'd give them 4 stars if they would stop putting raw onions in their Mac salad! I'm constantly spitting them out, so does my husband. I'm not even sure why they put raw onions in their MAC salad as many people have an aversion to raw onions.

  • Jason L.

L&L is good for what it is....a quick taste of Hawaiian cuisine. Don't go here if you are expecting a 5-star gourmet meal. But it is a big step up from fast food burgers, chicken, etc.... Their food is good and the service is excellent! If you have time to wait and aren't in a huge rush go ahead and walk in and order, but I recommend calling ahead. I'm not a big fan of spam but for those that are I hear the Spam Musubi is good. I like the Chicken Katsu and my kids are big fans of the Short Ribs and we all agree on the Macaroni :) Anyhow I know I will be returning to get a little taste here and there and while doing so and enjoying a Kona Longboard I will be thinking of getting back to the islands :)

You have to tried the Lolo's (ice freeze) here! It is so yummy. It is perfect for the hot summer days. They also have poke. My favorite now is the garlic shrimp. They will also do healthy dishes for you with regular salad instead of the mac salad and brown rice. My family loves the BBQ chicken and Short ribs.

Great for a chain restaurant! I've been here several times and they have friendly customer service, good food, and affordable prices. A good place when I don't feel like cooking. My favorites are the healthy BBQ chicken plate, which is, grilled chicken, brown rice, and a mixed green salad with a sesame vinaigrette. The saimen (noodle soup) is good (during the winter time), but the portion is kind of small. The spam musubi (spam sushi) is good, but a little heavy in the rice. Lastly the malasadas (Portuguese donuts) for dessert are absolutely scrumptious! They are soft, light, fluffy pillows of sugary goodness! I personally think they are way better then a traditional donut! Overall a great place for affordable, quick, good eats!

    (4)

I've eaten here lots and I really wanted to like it because (1) I LOVE HAWAIIAN FOOD and (2) there really isn't much to eat in this area (I grew up in this neighborhood and my parents still live in the area But.. it never fails to disappoint me. The food is ALWAYS too salty and the macaroni salad is ALWAYS warm (warm mayonnaise = disgusting health code violation). I've tried everything on the menu, but I think I'm done with this place. The only L &L restaurants that are actually good are in HAWAII.

I come here the same time every week to watch a Ukulele group perform while I enjoy my dinner.

I have become addicted to this place. Their food is always fresh & absolutely delicious. I usually order the Seafood Combo w/the BBQ beef (which is like Korean beef). They give u so much food, that its enough for 2 meals. Plus I absolutely love their macaroni salad....simple with just mayo, carrots & garlic. I could eat a pound of it!! Also, at this location, they serve lumpia. It's not as good as homemade but its a lot better than I've received at some of the Filipino restaurants on Mack Rd.

Not exactly sure why this location has a low average rating. Among the L&Ls I have been to in Sacramento and elsewhere, this one is the best. Always clean and modern looking. Two flat screen televisions on the north and south walls (usually either showing the Food Network or sports). My favorite dishes are the Mixed Grill (Hawaiian style bbq chicken and beef) plate, the Loco Moco (two hamburger patties with two fried eggs over white rice with brown gravy poured over everything), and the Chicken Katsu (deep fried chicken breasts cut into slices and served with a sweet Katsu sauce). All plates are normally served with white rice and macaroni salad. But I skip the macaroni salad and ask for "all white rice". The macaroni salad isn't bad (a bit sweeter than the typical macaroni salad) but I prefer just having extra rice. I always leave satisfied.

Nancy I love you but I HATE this L&L. Their food is the same as all the others, fine. And just the same after you're done eating you feel like a hippo at the bottom of a river.. or maybe that's just me... But the point of this review is that, THIS L&L isn't like the others in that they have a HUGE flat screen on the wall playing the food channel, and one of those display things with brightly colored desserts and stuff with neon writings.. pretty.. but SO not what I'm used to. I don't want to go back. Honestly I shouldn't ever eat another serving of Chicken Katsu again.. But you can't keep me away from the Musubi! Oh and there was outdoor seating.. I dont recall if it was for L&L in particular or another place but hey its seats.. what are they going to do? Come out after you and tell you you can't sit there?

I just moved from San Francisco, and I was looking for a hawaiian drive in. My sister bought me a groupon for this place and when I went, the coupon wasn't active yet. I ended up buying something anyways, and to say the least, it was good. Good price for a meal that can last you all day long. I ended up coming back to fulfill that groupon, $10 for $20 worth of food, the best deal ever!

i love this place! the first time i went here i was skeptical. it's a hole in the wall, and it seemed pricey for what it was.....until i got my food! first, i love that they have healthy menu selections, i have been there several times now and can't branch out past the healthy bbq chicken because it's THAT good. bbq chicken, brown rice, and a side salad and the portion is huge, making it worth the 7-8 dollars. the only complaint i have is, even when there are not a lot of people in the restaurant, i have had to wait about 15 minutes. it's always been completely worth the wait though!

I started going to this place because my co-workers love this place and I would always walk in while they were eating it. First time there, didn't know what to expect and the lady behind the counter was very sweet and explained the menu to me. I ended up ordering the katsu chicken and LOVED IT. The only downside is the wait is a little long, but they cook everything right there, so I can't complain. I now call ahead and have no issues. I just read that that they have on Roseville, so I will be definitely checking that out

I go here when I need a quick Hawaiian BBQ fix. This place to me is yummy. The people who work here are so friendly. You may think service is slow, but hold up and just wait, because their food is the bomb and you get a lot. When you walk out you won't only be saying MAHALO, but you'll be so stuffed and satisfied! I love going here! I usually get the chicken katsu with 2 scoops of rice instead of the macaroni and they're nice about it!

Now this is the way an L&L should be! Its very clean, nice decor, staff greets you with an Aloha when you enter. The girl working the counter was very nice and cheerful...but mannn as soon as the cook got the order wrong she got nasty, treating the cook like he was some sort of idiot, raising her voice in front of the customers, then turning around with a smile and an aloha to the next customer. Makes me wonder how genuine that aloha really is! Food came out promptly. The only beef I have with this place is just that, their "beef". You know how some Chinese restaurants can get their beef to be super tender you don't need teeth to eat it? They do it by soaking the beef in baking soda which tenderizes the meat, but also sucks out all the flavor. If you leave it in too long or dont wash off all the baking soda, the beef takes on this very unpleasant taste. That is exactly what happened to my BBQ Beef. It was super tender, but had that slight metallic/almost rotten taste you get when too much baking soda is used. Minus one star for that. Portions are true to L&L, and their mac salad and musubi are on point.

Delicious food, takes awhile to get it, and overpriced. They do have a plasma! lol Bri will tell you they're all ritsy which I mean it's the suburbs so it's not gonna be rundown in this area but L&L is always a bit more but the quality of the food makes up for it.

The only things I like from here are the katsu chicken and the macaroni salad. I honestly just order the mac salad sometimes because it is the best I've ever tasted. I guess I like the onions in it and its simplicity. I also love the sauce that comes with the katsu l. I am a sauce junkie so I ask for two sauces so I can drench not only the chicken with sauce but the rice too. I can't eat this too often because it is fried and very rich, but every time I have it, it's oh so good!

The food here is not the most flavorful but it is filling. The portion size of the BBQ mix plate is insane. Another comforting filling meal is the locomoco. Just don't forget extra salt/ pepper and other condiments or your mouth will get bored fast.

This L & L BBQ is pretty good for fast food. My only gripes: 1. They take a while for take out, so I suggest calling in your order ahead of time and then picking it up. 2. They've gotten skimpy lately with the sauces, going from small to go containers to eeeny - teeny - tiny containers ... I remember ... don't try to act like I wouldn't notice. 3. The curry doesn't taste like curry. It's not spicy, it just tastes like normal gravy. 4. The teriyaki burger is toooooo salty. 5. Avoid the low - fat menu...it's so dumb. You're at a fast food joint anyway, go all the way and get the fatty stuff off of the fatty menu. I had the garlic shrimp and I wanted to throw it back in their face. Only 6 shrimps ... and they were super tiny! boo! Recommendations: 1. Gravy fries with gravy on the side ... you must order the gravy on the side. If you don't, they will drench your fries in a pool of gravy and the fries will just taste like soft potato poo 2. I know this sounds nutty ... the plain burger ...not the teriyaki burger, not the cheese burger ... just the plain burger. Less is more, all it has is a hamburger patty slab, with lettuce, tomato, and onion ---- it's so good. 3. Katsu chicken ... hot and crispy ... yum yum! 4. Any of the BBQ platters ... the way BBQ should taste. 5. My all time fave ... the Loco Moco. It's a hamburger patty with an egg and gravy on top with a side of rice. I order my egg OVER EASY, that way I could break the yolk and mix the yolk with my rice, meat, and gravy. 6. The udon is yum yum!!! 7. I know this sounds like a nutty one ... if you're a spam fan, you need to try the spam musubi. It's rice and spam pressed together wrapped with seaweed ... exactly like sushi. 8. Customer service is great. I got a free sample of their Merlino's freeze, that was nice. And this one time, one of the ringers, I believe he was the owner cuz I've seen him just supervising in the back before, offered me one of their canned sodas cuz he had to change the C02 in the soda dispenser --- so nice, so honest! Go in and try!!!

The best L&L in Sacramento. Amazing staff. I always order the katsu and masubis. The katsu sauce is perfect other locations are usually watered down.

Ordered a ramen burger for lunch with less than ten other patrons in the restaurant. I waited 18 minutes for the burger. The food tasted pretty bland, so I added teriyaki sauce. Strangely, the teriyaki sauce tasted bland too. At least it was somewhat filling, but I wouldn't order this again.

Some of the employees working the front counter are not very bright. They keep screwing up my order. I asked for mac and to sub out the white rice with green salad. I got green salad with white rice, but no mac. The girl even repeated it back to me so I dunno what the deal was. I was already home when I saw it was rice and I was not about to drive all the way back. Stupid casheir. Lame...Lame...Lame...
