Several of the teas here are really tasty and refreshing. The staff is friendly and easily answers questions. The roasted milk tea with grass jelly has a light smokey taste and the grass jelly is super soft and fresh. Get the large. No regrets.

I know people may wonder what makes this place so special. Well, not only are their boba drinks delicious and refreshing, you also have the option of choosing how sweet you want your drinks. I am a frequent customer of this location, and I've never had a bad experience. All of the staff is welcoming and friendly, and work quickly so that you are not waiting on your drink for a long time. To top things off, if you want to stay and enjoy your drink there, they have music playing in the background.

Staff has been always friendly and you get to sample the drinks before buying. Quick service and patient! Will be back again! #s 2,3, and 5 are my favorites.

Definitely a very busy place. It was packed when we came here and took about 10-15 minutes for us to get our orders. I got the tea bar milk tea (black milk tea) and it was great. Good balance between the tea and milk. I also like that you can customize the sweetness of your drink. I did try my friend's matcha milk tea, but it had kind of a strange aftertaste so I don't think I'll ever be ordering that for myself. I'll definitely be back to try the other drinks though.

Order: #1 Large Grass Jelly Roasted Milk Tea. grass jelly was delish and perfect consistency but for some reason I really smell egg custard in it....weird. The milk tea was refreshing and delightful. I would come back for just the milk tea and no grass jelly. The store shop smells horrible!!!! Like the smell of melted plastic, I hope that's not an ingredient in our drink. Drink is good, service is adequate but definitely not a comfortable hangout spot.

A coworker of mine told me about this place and she highly recommended their #1 selling drink which was the "roasted milk tea w/ grass jelly" so of course i had to give it a try. I came in during noon and there was already a line so they were a bit busy since they only had 2 people working but i didn't mind the wait since i was not in a hurry because it was my day off and i was spending it with my two little love bugs. When we reached the counter/register the employee was really friendly and helpful because i told him it was my first time here so i did not know what was good so he recommended my their #1 seller and as far as something fruity but not too sweet he recommended the mango green tea. I ordered 2 of their roasted milk tea w/ grass jelly and 1 mango green tea in their reg. size which was huge compared to other places, i would say a regular size here is already considered a large. And sooooo, my coworker was right. The roasted milk tea w/ grass jelly was SUPER YUMMY!!! My youngest who is 2 by the way loved it so much she finished a reg. one all by herself and then after she asked if she could have some of mines. As for the mango green tea my oldest (5yr old) loved it as well. So therefore i highly recommend this place to anyone especially their #1 seller ROASTED MILK TEA W/ GRASS JELLY. Its DELICIOUS

Service: Nice and helpful staff! They asked about your taste and if you like to try their tea. They will make all the tea/ milk tea that you want to try Product: I most likely order less sweet wherever I go for milk tea. But this space has a perfect measure for the standard sweetness. Their drink is not so so sweet! Instead of boba, they got boba noodle! But I prefer their grass jelly! It doesnt taste like usual grass jelly, it tastes better Location: Since its new, there is no sign in front yet. However, its inside is clean clear! There are plenty of parking spots also

Yes I am fan of mango green tea with jelly large size! Try few other drinks but sadly disappointed... Will just stick my mango!

Great place for milk teas! I love how you can adjust the level of sweetness for the drinks because sometimes it's just way too sweet and not to my liking. 30% sugar or less is just perfect. Roasted milk tea and jasmine tea with grass jelly or red bean hits the spot. The staffs here are friendly too. They also have games here for you too...jenga and whatnot. Hit this place up if you're into milk teas. Sucks how they don't have boba though lol

  • Jessica K.

My first time here and I already enjoyed it already once I stepped into the place! I ordered the #1 since it was highly recommended by other Yelpers and I wasn't disappointed! I added extra sugar since I enjoy my milk tea to be sweet. The vibe of the place is very chill and there is tons of space! Also the sizes surprised me since their regular is usually a large in other places. The large here is definitely a big one. You won't feel cheated! Besides the strobe lights and the somewhat loud music happening, I was definitely glad to have a new tea place here in Sacramento, besides Tea Culture. A must try!

Friendly staff, good drinks, & a nice place to hang out. Their roasted Milk tea with grass jelly is a crowd pleaser. The peach tea with lychee is also good, and so is the mango tea. I'm not a big fan of the kumquat though, but if that's your thing then I say go for it. The only thing they're missing now is snacks!

I have been here so many times that I feel like I can write a Cool Tea Bar complete guide. This place has one of the best drinks in town. It's right on Stockton and 65th so you can get your Pho and milk tea craving fix at the same time. I like how they brew their tea fresh daily, make their own fresh toppings, and their drinks are not from powder even the flavored green tea. The customer service is excellent here. You can sample almost everything on the menu and as many samples as you want. People complain about their bad experience with some of the drinks but they probably don't know that you can ask the staff to change the drinks or even get a refund. I recommend their tea bar milk tea for milk tea lovers and the passion fruit green tea for green tea lovers. Overal, this place is really good and is worth a try.

The milk teas are pretty good here and the prices are really good because you get a huge cup for the price of a regular drink. I like how they use actual tea and how each drink is individually made. I can't stand powder milk tea boba drinks. However, like other yelpers, I don't like how they refuse to make the matcha less than 70% sweet (because otherwise it will be too bitter). IMO, it's my drink, I should be able to have it my way. And if it's disgusting, I'll know better the next time. The grass jelly is good too because it's really soft and easy to drink up. It isn't stuck at the bottom like at other places. They still don't have tapioca balls/pearls yet though. But I hope they do soon!

6 months or so later from my other review, I am STILL obsessed with this place. Sometimes it is a let down that they run out of toppings (which equals minus a star) but eh, I started to get the Tea bar milk tea (my absolute favorite) without any topping - of course extra sugar please - and I realize that less is more. Sometimes it is nice to drink a smooth drink with no interruptions. I prefer t-balls over boba now also. But anywho, thank you Cool Tea Bar for taking all of my money. Even though they close at midnight sometimes they run out of some milk teas around 10 also.....

Their large is HUGE!! Only for an extra 50c #2 tea bar is a MUST TRY I always get egg pudding with it . Get the matcha milk tea if you're feeling a lil adventurous ... I am a matcha fanatic I must say It is a must try for the matcha lovers

  • Shannon S.

The drinks I've tried so far have been really delicious. I usually get the roasted milk tea with grass jelly. They also let you sample drinks if you ask. Sometimes the drinks have an inconsistent taste but still delicious nonetheless.

  • Vivian L.

Grass jelly is ON POINT. Love love love it. The roasted milk tea doesn't taste as "roasted" as when I first tried it :( hopefully this will improve -- My bf takes me all the way here from Davis at least 2-3x/week!

Sacramento used to be a bobaless desert, where quality boba was nowhere in sight. That is, until COOL TEA BAR showed up and brought joy and to all the boba lovers in the sacramento area! alright, maybe i'm giving them too much credit, but their milk teas are definitely the best around. The fact that they brew their teas and don't use powder, just gives them a fresher, lighter, more fulfilling taste. My favorite, even after 100s of dollars spent on most of the boba menu is still option #1, Roasted Oolong Milk tea with grass jelly. Sometimes I like to splurge and add the egg pudding. If you really want to taste the roasted flavor, I recommend getting 70% sweetness and even lower if you have any family history of diabetes in your family ( it will get you!). On a lighter note, you will truly enjoy this place. Your taste buds will thank you!

I have not visit for the longest and sadly to say my favorite bubble tea girl quitted! Service will never be the same! Lol jk shout out to Sou and Shantelle! From the bay and back and back to the bay.. I have to update my review. I've tried everything on the menu here and sadly to say... There's nothing left for me here anymore. The menu needs new drinks... The drinks are also similar to cha time in the bay and I actually go back to cha time for their drinks (Hawaiian fruit tea) lately its been kinda watered down over there though... Still addicted! I honestly don't like the bar stool chairs. I've seen a kid fall off that chair before... Scared me! -1 They need new games.. Have you seen snowbees box of treasured game goodies!? They have everything! And it's fresh out the box! Cool tea bar.. Upgrade please? -1 Although I love cool tea bar... I'd probably go to snowbees across the street to hang out.. You can definitely feel a difference between the two vibes and atmosphere... Will re update when I visit again for their service since there will be new staff ;)

    The roasted milk tea was bombbbbbb. It was like love at first taste. The sweetness was just right (ordered the normal) and I can distinctly tell that it was freshly made-- something that very much set it apart from other places that sell milk tea. The grass jelly compliments the milk tea perfectly. They put big chunks of jelly in there, so it is worth the money if you're around the area. Overall, this is my go-to place for some real quality milk tea. Milk tea's from Quickly's, Tapioca Express, Moo Moo's, and Lollicup just seem mediocre in comparison to Cool Tea Bar's. If you're stuck on what to order here, just go with their milk tea's. ;}

Tell me why no other place in Sacramento has roasted milk tea with grass jelly?? It doesn't matter anymore because Cool Tea Bar has it! I was so excited for their grand opening three days ago to the point where I've already been there twice. I ordered the large roasted milk tea with grass jelly both times and it did not disappoint. It was just as delicious as the one I used to make special trips for in San Francisco. I sampled the mango green tea and that tasted really good as well. As for customer service, it was outstanding! The people that work there are super friendly and make an effort to make sure you have a great experience if you decide to sit there and sip on your drink. I see many roasted milk teas with grass jelly in my future now that there's a location so close to me :)

One of my favorite boba place when I'm in Sacramento! I rarely crave for boba or tea, but this place totally changed that! I'm really impressed with their milk teas and other fruity teas. My favorite is the roasted milk tea with grass jelly and passion fruit green tea with aloe vera! Its delicioussss! Definitely check this place out if you are in Sacramento!

I've been to this plaza so many times and didn't even know this place existed. I thought it would be mediocre since I've never heard of it, but my friend convinced me to go in. I didn't know what to order, so the guy behind the counter offered samples for me to try. How neat and convenient is that? Automatic stars for good customer service, esp. since he helped me choose something to order. I got the Jasmine milk tea. It was pretty sweet, but you can taste the tea. My friend ordered the same thing with 50% sweetness. I'm going to try 50% sweetness next time because the boba is already pretty sweet (in a good way though). Also the cups are huge. I would come back.

I was going crazy looking for this place because they do not have a big building sign. Thank god one of the yelpers posted a picture to help guide me there. I walked in, and this place had a really happy atmosphere. Bright colors (purple and pink). I walked in and was greeted. For a new place their service was not the best. I didn't get greeted, I was just asked if I was ready to order. Being new and all, I would like a the low down before ordering. Their menu selection is small which works to their advantage with all the competition around them. They specialize in "tea". Their milk to to be exact. This place has no boba, so don't go looking for it. I ordered a roasted milk tea with grass jelly. The flavor wasn't that bad, nor was it too sweet. For $4.50 for the large cup, I think it's a steal! It's huge!! Minus one star because I waited 12 minutes for my tea, and there was only three customers ahead of me who ordered one drink each, and six staff members behind the counter. I hope this place gets better! Only time will tell.

The best boba in Sacramento. I wish I found out about it earlier since I'll be leaving Sac pretty soon and I've been on a 4 year quest to find good boba here. As an LA native, for me this is the closest it gets to authentic boba with the right amount of sweetness, right amount of tea flavor, and correct boba texture. I don't know if the tea drinks are made from actual tea (vs. powder) but it tasted great and fresh. I recommend the roasted milk tea. They refer to their boba as "tea balls" which was kinda funny to say. Also the boba are not black as they are traditionally but a clear color which I had to get over. I usually get 50-75% sweetness since that brings out the "roasted" flavor of the tea. Minus 1 star because i wish they served food and they sometimes run out of "tea balls".

First time coming to this place, it was quite hard to find since they don't have a sign yet. It is located next to Lee's Jewelry on the side of the supermarket. Currently, they offer free phone cases (for Iphone, S5, and Note) with the purchase of 2 drinks & an iPad case with the purchase of 4 drinks. This was perfect because I have been looking for a case for my S5! :D In regards to their drinks, I tasted the Passion Fruit Green Tea which tasted the same as other places. Also, I had it with T-noddles which reminds me of udon noddles and tasted bland like them too. I was able to sample their most popular #1 Grass Jelly...Milk Tea, delicious! Their 'regular' size drinks are much bigger and seem like a large drink at other places. Will definitely continue to visit when I am in the area! P.S. minus one star because they don't have bobas :(. They said those are only available at their bay area locations.

Love this place. Thx Kayla N! Roasted milk tea with Grass Jelly FTW!!! Mango Taiwan Tonic if u want that fizzle on a hot day. 4 for Reg 4.5 for Lrg! Taro is real Taro. Get normal sweetness and it's just right. Enjoy!

Every time I come here they are either out of the only drink I get (jasmine milk tea) or they're out of their t-balls. It's come to the point where I have to call and ask them if they have the drinks I like. I go out of my way to come here and am getting so disappointed. I attempted to call them to ask if they were out of my fav goods but they don't answer. Employees at night could be a bit nicer too. I always say thank you and never get anything back.

Tried this place when they first opened and it wasn't all that great. Came back a few months later and they really perfected their roasted milk tea. I always get it in a large with extra sugar, at least once a week.

Their cashier, Kevin, is super helpful and friendly! He greeted us with a smile right when we walked in. Since it was our first time, he gave us suggestions and samples!!

I don't see what's the craze about this place...I came here on several occasions to try different things but I don't think it was that memorable. The most recent drink I got was the #1 which was the roasted milk tea with grass jelly. The grass jelly was really good but I felt like the milk tea lacked some flavor...they had really good customer service for a place packed on a Friday night though so I will give them that. I tried the "cool ball" which was a clear sweet ball and it was interesting. Maybe I should've tried it in a drink but oh well. The time capsule cards are cute though! Really nice thought and smart form of publicity.

Stumbled across this cool spot while doin some grocery shoppin! There is no sign so be on the look out. It's by the SF supermarket and in the same plaza as boiling crab. Today was my first time and it was pretty refreshing and the quality was good. I asked to sample the roasted milk tea and the mango green tea. Roasted milk tea was a bit bland for me, but the mango green tea hit the spot! Oh! Umm, this place does not serve boba. I found that odd. Instead they have some white jelly string topping called "T noodles" I ended up ordering a regular sized jasmine milk tea with grass jelly ($3.50+ $0.50 topping)

I really enjoy the drinks here, and I like the way the place is set up. I generally prefer a business have a few good options rather than a multitude of mediocre ones, and I would say Cool Tea Bar achieves that. While there are other choices, there are a few popular ones listed very large on the menu with pictures, and so far I've enjoyed all of them. I stil like the #1 the most - milk tea with grass jelly. The flavor of the jelly is milder than what you get in the grass jelly drink cans, and it goes with the milk tea surprisingly well. People tend to be surprised that they don't have boba, but everyone who's tried the #1 seems to enjoy it, and you can get your standard boba at any other milk tea place nearby. In a few words Cool Tea Bar is unique, simple, convenient and tasty, all good qualities in my book.

  • Karen T.

I got the mango tonic, the name is not on the menu in the store but online it does have the name and a picture. For stores like this, I usually get a strawberry drink but I wanted to try something new. The mango tonic is really good and I highly recommend it!

Another tea bar in little old sacramento, of course I had to try it. I ordered their special #1, the grass jelly roasted milk tea after sampling 5 other different flavors. Yes, they let you sample!! How great is that? Awesome! Add another 50 cents to upgrade your drink to a jumbo size; no thanks though, I wouldn't finish it. I came at around 9pm, so they had really loud music with a disco ball shining throughout the whole tea bar. It seems like all these boba/tea bars are trying to be hip to attract people, and I guess it's working. Oh yeah, they also open until midnight, definitely a plus for night goers!

ROASTED MILK TEA?! YES! FINALLY! You guys have nooo idea how long I've been waiting for a Bubble Tea place in Sacramento to have Roasted Milk Tea! I'm a hardcore milk tea drinker, so when I moved to Sacramento from the Bay Area I searched long and hard for a good milk tea place as yummy as ChaTime and T4. I found a few places here that I like such as Tapioca and Tea, but they didn't have Roasted Milk Tea :/ I come to this plaza often and noticed they were opening a bubble tea place here, little did I know they would serve the one drink I've been craving for since I moved here! ^_^ And so I guess the grand opening was couple days ago. As I am writing this I am still feeling excited to finally have a ROASTED MILK TEA place in Sacramento. This place is probably the first! FINALLY! Thank you Cool Tea Bar! *__* I'm so excited I said ROASTED MILK TEA like 4 times in this review already, lmfao Anywho, It's pretty good but next time I'll ask for extra sugar. It has the taste of roasted milk tea but wasn't as sweet as I would have liked it. Other than that I believe that this place will be "my new spot". Also the wifi password was on my receipt but it was incorrect so I couldn't use it :( However customer service was very friendly and were quick and prompt with our drinks! Another awesome thing is that they're open til Midnight!

Great place! If you're a fan of milk tea with tea balls (they're delicious). I ordered a jasmine tea in a size regular and it was more than enough! ($3.50) very reasonably priced. if you want tea balls added it is an extra .50 cents! Genuine and nice people working behind the bar! Even offered me to try the favors so I can choose my favorite kind! Very nice! Great customer service!

  • Lien C.

I like this place because they give you the option of how sweet you want your milk tea. Also the one and only tea bar places that make roasted milk tea to my liking in Sacramento. Their boba or cool balls are not for me. Grass jelly is good with the mixture but I sure hope they use the real boba instead of the cool boba which tasted a little different. One thing I don't like about this place is they are not very sanitize. They would use the same sticky cloth to whip the counter to whip your drink. Kind of disgusting if you think about it and now my cup is sticky.

  • Trang K.

I rarely come to this place anymore. I think the milk teas are of okay quality now with all the other shops popping up nearby....I've heard through the grapevines that new seats have been provided. I hope they are a bit more comfortable than before. Lastly, the tables were round and small, not too conducive to hanging out with more than 2 friends. :/ Tip for owners: Make it more comfortable or you will continue to lose business to other places in a one mile radius who also opens late into the night.

Came here again last Friday around 9pm. Very quick service. Never had a problem with workers. Oolong milk tea is my favorite!!!! It's not brown colored like other boba places. It's more of a very light green and it tasted refreshing. Perfect amount of sweetness. I didn't really know for sure that they had actual boba. But the boba was okay. I don't like how there are bigger sized boba and then smaller ones. It's as if they put the fresh, plumpy boba on top of the older boba. I just want the boba sizes to be consistent. Nice place to chill with family. Free wifi! I also remember at the very beginning they give you free samples of the drink. Idk if they do it anymore. My sister is obsessed with this place. I think there should be more variety of drinks. Overall, a nice place.

I do have a regret coming here . . . and that's not paying the damn 50¢ extra for a large! The roasted milk tea with the grass jelly satisfied my craving and made me wanting more. I chose 100% for my level of sweetness which wasn't overly sweet and was perfect for my craving that day. At the time the size of the cup just looked enormous and too much for me, but after a long drive from the Monterey Bay area in heat that I'm definitely not used to I was HELLA thirsty. I should have just went for it! Place is bright enough to wear my shades with its bright pink and yellow walls and high shiny white tables. I was not a fan of the stool high chairs. With me being vertically challenged and wearing a short skirt that day, it made it uncomfortable to sit in. Loud, explicit music was being played which I didn't mind (honestly, I kinda enjoyed it! Lol) I guess it gears towards their high school/college crowd. Service was friendly and bathrooms were clean. Location is kinda sketchy. Lots of parking but its in an Asian plaza, so you know what that means . . . lots of Asian drivers. Just deal with it!

I have seen check-ins from my friends here so I had to check it out. It was nice. A tad hard to find as it was in the back of a shopping center, but if you are familiar with the area finding it is no issue. The place is well set up for hanging out. I love that they let you borrow games. It keeps patrons there longer and buying more. They have a good selection of teas with ad ins. They are quick and friendly. I love it when people are friendly. The tea was good. Nothing exciting, but was exactly what I ordered green mango tea. You could taste the green tea which is a plus. It wasn't just a sugary drink. Very refreshing on a hot day.

I'm in la~la~love!~ I'm so happy Sacramento finally opened its own Cool Tea Bar! On our first visit here with the boyfriend, I got myself the Roasted Milk Tea with grass jelly and egg pudding, 70% sweet. Boyfriend for the Tea Bar Milk tea with grass jelly and egg pudding as well. Both drinks were deliciously refreshing, with a very nice balance between tea and milk. The biggest problem I've had with other milk tea shops is too much milk and not enough tea, and in the end, I get a mainly milk-tasting drink. 70% sweetness is perfect for me and I love that I get to choose my sweetness level. My boyfriend usually prefers fruity slushies/snows, however had to opt for a milk tea here because Cool Tea Bar only offers teas, or milk teas. And although they don't have a huge menu selection, I'm totally satisfied with a quality, but limited menu selection. Service was great, the cashier was really helpful, friendly, and patient in waiting for my indecisiveness. Nice white, shiny tables with the air con running... Makes a great place for a hang out spot in the summer. Location right by other restaurants and the supermarket makes it convenient and a great dessert.

Six days ago on 7/2/2015, I visited to this unknown place called, "Cool Tea Bar" which it's found in the heart of South Sacramento neighborhood between Florin and Little Saigon. Located farther to TK Noodle and SF Supermarket in this strip mall, Cool Tea Bar has all your favorite drinks from the Asian tea creations and exotic juices that will satisfy your appetite! I begin ordering the most popular, and best selling drink, Roasted milk tea with grass jelly with half of the sugar which you can chose any amount of sugar you want to make it sweeter or less sweet. As I drank it, it tasted very appealing! I can feel the mixtures of Thai tea (it could be) with lowfat milk on it which it balanced the flavor very well! The grass jelly is also tasted very good! There's a free, secured wi-fi right here, so you can check your e-mails and surf the web easier! It's located at the bottom of the receipt after you've purchased the drinks. There's a good, ample of parking here, so you can get there easier in no time! In the end, Cool Tea Bar is the coolest Asian tea bar that I've ever visited! I'll come back for more! Highly recommend!

I'm a fan of milk teas so was excited to give this place a shot... Especially right away after I learned my husband has never had bubble tea! It was a bit of a drive for us and a really hot day, so we were particularly thirsty when we got there. My first impression of the menu was that the choices are limited. I had trouble recommending a flavor to my husband because there weren't many on there I thought he'd like. I ordered their bestseller, the roasted milk tea with grass jelly, and he went with the passion fruit green tea - both at 70% sweetness (I like that this is an option.) I've actually never been to a tea bar that didn't automatically put boba in your drink, and found this disappointing. When I asked, they put some "tea balls" instead which are transparent rather than the black boba. They felt overcooked and mushy, not much bite to them. The grass jelly is also mushy so a more al dente tea ball would have been nice. The teas themselves were good in flavor, we probably could have gotten away with 50% sweetness. The size of the drink is generous so no need to order the large. All in all, if I'm in the mood for "bubble" tea I probably won't be returning here, purely for their lack of boba.

This place has become a huge disappointment. Today, I ordered a roasted milk tea with 50% sugar. What I received was a watered down iced drink. There was no roasted milk tea flavor whatsoever. I kindly asked the employee if it was possible for them to remake my drink. (I usually do not do this because I don't like to be "complicated," but my drink was way off). He looked at me as if he was offended and questioned my description of the drink as being watered down. He had absolutely no shame. I know for a fact he was about to deny my request, in a rude manner. His fellow employee had to step in ASAP before he said anything harsh and literally shouted: "I'm so sorry! Yes, of course we can get you a new one." He even offered to let me taste the new drink before he sealed the cup. If you are this employee and you are reading this, I just wanna say that you are way too cool for "Cool" Tea Bar! I highly doubt that I will return any time soon.

I wish CTB would open one up north of Sac (like Roseville). Their teas are great and their service is fast and friendly. The #1 is still my favorite with that grass jelly!

This is my favorite go to boba spot in the Sacramento area. I usually come here after eating at Boiling Crab (other end of the plaza) to just hangout and cause I'm already in the area. Their drinks are always up to par and consistent which I like. I've tried a variety of drinks from oolong milk tea, roasted milk tea, matcha milk tea, passion fruit green tea, and Jasmine milk tea but my favorite drink is the Jasmine milk tea. Ever since I tried that drink here, that's all I ever order. I'll add egg pudding occasionally and upgrade to large which is only 50 cents extra when I cave for the extra quench of thirst. Service is great here. Workers are really friendly and talkative. The wait for your drink never takes too long unless you happen to come in right after a large party. If you ever want to try a drink, don't hesitate to ask!

Mediocre boba place. It's in a great location though (near Boiling Crab and a whole bunch of good restaurants). I would agree and say that the pricing is great. It's only about $3.5 for a regular (but their regular is considered big in other places) and about $4 for big one (actually a jumbo sized one). They have a wide variety of toppings to choose from. Although they seem true to their sweetness level, I have found their drinks to be inconsistent. I went a couple weeks before and got the Oolong milk tea, which turned out to be really good, but I recently got their Oolong milk tea, which turned out to be too milky (I could hardly taste the tea in it). The other time I got the Jasmine milk green tea and that was also too milky. Hopefully I just went on their bad days, but there are other boba places in the area that I would rather try.

I'm so funny because at first I didn't really care for this place and I wasn't really a fan but now, my favorite thing to get here is the mango green tea. And fresh lemon tea kumquat isn't so bad either. They're both very refreshing. The place still looks the same, pink walls. Disco ball is still hanging from the ceiling. And they now have poloroids that they take of customers on Saturdays and Sunday's. They also display the photos for all of their raving fans to see next to the register. They offer boba now. I remember working and my co worker asked me if I wanted to try the jasmine milk tea with boba. It's actually really good and the boba tasted really home made. If they're not, they did a really good job on buying good boba. My favorites are their teas. The mango green tea FTW. Lately this place is all I crave for and its next to TK!

My first time at Cool Tea Bar, I was not a fan. I think it was because of what I ordered. I was then introduced to the Roasted Milk Tea with Grass Jelly. I believe they call it their #1 on the menu. I am obsessed with this drink now! My cravings are real! It is one if their most popular drinks. Don't go too late in the day if you want to try their Roasted Milk Tea because it usually is sold out. I like how my Fiancé surprises me now with my favorite drink after work because he knows I absolutely love it! Writing this review is making me crave it even more. I think I might actually go pick me up some Milk tea later.

Delicious, refreshing, and cool to the lips. I am starting to dig this place a lot. I rarely visit the Stockton Blvd. area of aZn town, but when I do, expect me to be in here hella loud. I've tried their #1 and #2 (top sellers) and my goodness, try it you won't regret it! Their grass jelly and egg pudding-- beyond words... Tastes so clean and fresh! Will leave you speechless, but with the occasional 'mMmm...' Friendly and patient staff. High seating arrangements to play footsie. Got your typical generic Jenga and playing cards so bring your competitive side. Too cool for school. Be like the cool kids. Cus Gweny, I know we're cool. P.S. mOOmOo I still love you ok! You're still my BAE~but sometime this happens: "Thug Life, one wife, a mistress and a girlfriend" - 2 Chainz

Great place to get your tea cravings satisfied! A bit on the expensive end depending on what you order but the drinks are unique-tasting and refreshing! I love their roasted milk tea with grass jelly! I spent $4-5 on a regular roasted milk tea.

Taste is great. Quality of teas are unique and it's hard to find that kind of flavor in Sac. Environment not so great. I feel like I'm walking into a high school party or a college freshman thing. Really loud, not my thing. HUGE TURN OFF: Employees throwing on their employee t-shirt at the counter after she was just sitting down with friends chatting, undressed for work. Leaves her long, messy hair down and starts working on drinks immediately without ever washing her hands, the closest thing to seeing her wash her hands was when she was rinsing the cups in the sink. That's gross, and I think her name is Kimmie. Her friend (customer sitting at table) even discretely reminded her to put up her hair while working but I guess she wanted to ignore it and let it fly from side to side from drink to drink. It's not like she was missing a hair tie, she had one around her wrist but decided to not step aside and use it. Pretty sure that's a health code violation in a place that serves drinks. Can't have a Serv Safe certification if your employees don't follow regulations. My kids are a fan of this place. Great tastes, just not great service.

I had to give this place a try since it was rated pretty high compared to the other places. The milk tea and boba was just average. In LA I'm use to my boba places making the drinks when I order it. Not having the already mixed and sitting in a container.

3.5 stars Lots of choices and I love that you can personalize how sweet you want your drink. I got green tea and it was just ok but everyone else liked theirs. Staff was friendly and place looks nice inside.

I like this place. I think it's the closest place to my house and it has reasonable prices. $3.50 for a regular and it's only 50 cents more for a large. You can bring your cards and chill with your friends. The ambience is super casual and chill. I recommend this to any of my friends who want to have some cool tea.

Updating my review because Cool Tea Bar finally has boba! Sort of... They may call them "tea balls" and they may be clear, as opposed to black, but for all intents and purposes, the "tea balls" seem to be Cool Tea Bar's version of boba/pearls. I think they're trying to go for "honey boba," because the tea balls do have some sweetness to them, which is nice. I wasn't sure about the tea balls, because I had tried the cool balls before and they were not my cup of tea at all (excuse the pun), but luckily, the staff was super sweet about letting me sample the tea balls prior to ordering. This is STILL one of the things I love most about Cool Tea Bar-- sampling! Seriously, why don't all boba/pmt/snow bubble/whatever places allow you to sample? Another thing that I've noticed is that Cool Tea Bar has apparently taken the "Tea Bar Milk Tea" off of their menu, which is odd, given that it used to be their #2 best-selling drink. But fear not, while the Tea Bar Milk Tea is no longer on the menu, that doesn't mean that it has disappeared altogether! You can still order it-- it's more just like a secret menu item now, only for those in the know. Lolsies. tl;dr: Still my go-to place for Boba in Sac, even a full year after opening! Thanks for keeping up the quality of your teas and listening to your customers and bringing boba... or at least "tea balls!"

Every time I'm in sac, I gotta hit up cool tea bar. RATCHET ASS MUSIC HERE. I walked in and they were playing a song with one of the line "POP YOU IN THE FACE, NO PUSSY ON MY SIDE" . well alright then. There's a time and place for everything, this is not the type of setting that should be playing these types of music. On top of that there's kids in here. But whatever. Their grass jelly roasted milk tea (#1) is still hood. They put a lot of milk in this time, but still good

If I could give them negative stars I would because they mess up my drink every single time and never seem to feel bad about it. The guy at the register tonight (talk Caucasian looking guy with glasses) was obviously new and told me the wrong thing (got cool balls and tea balls mixed up so I ended up ordering the wrong ones--ones basically boba and the other is like agar-type boba I guess?) I told the skinny Asian guy making the drinks to talk to the new guy taking orders (so he doesn't keep giving out wrong info) but he just looked at me like I was some crazy b*tch who didn't know what she was talking about..like bro I'm just trying to help yall out. Another time I went and had a pretty big group order of about 9 drinks for my coworkers and they only got one drink right. They remade the drinks, only for us to find out (once we got back to work) that they still messed up at least 3 of the drinks. The only good thing about this place is the free samples..but it's sad they don't even have t-noodles anymore cus that's what really set them apart. Basically I only came here out of convenience (they were one of the few boba places open late and I wasn't in the mood to deal with sno-bee) but this experience set in stone that I will never be back. F this place and their incompetent workers (sorry to be such a hater, but seriously I've given them so many chances and that many mess ups is just unacceptable especially since they're so unapologetic about it)

i wasn't a fan of this place at all before because they were missing boba. now they server boba and they call it coo t balls. one of my favorites to get is the number one with roasted milk tea and grass jelly and boba. but my all time favorite is the kumquat green tea because the flavor is very refreshing and not to sweet and not too sour but in-between both so i have found it my favorite drink at this place. i usually get the large size and its huge and it satisfy my thirsty cravings. i have also tried the cool balls which they have as a topping for the drinks and i think its pretty unique crunchy texture but chewy at the same time too. but as long as they keep the boba i am a fan of this place. during the weekends and holiday the wait could be long. i usually recommend during the weekday for the fastest in and out to get the drink quickly. I had came here a few times during the day time on a sunday afternoon and the wait was ridiculous long. i usually just leave and come back if i don't go somewhere else. lately i have came here a few times and they ran out of boba. one time i ordered 4 drinks and they forgot it inside and replaced it with cool balls without letting me know. i brought it right back in and had them make me new 4 drinks with boba. one time we ordered 2 drinks and one drink had boba and the other one didn't have boba. i only grabbed mines and sipped away and left the other one in the bag. when i got home i found out it didn't have boba. so i had to drive all the way back and ask why wasn't there was no boba inside. they said they ran out of boba, in my mind i was like wth?... should have told me in first place. they wanted to just give us the 50 cents back and apologize. i said no give me a free complimentary drink for the lack of communication and the drive back. then got my free complimentary drink the next day. one time i did caught that the boba were not flavored and was bland. i had to make a phone call and ask if they did. of course they would say it isn't. anyways sometimes the boba is off point. another time i went at night and they were out of green tea for the rest of the night. overall they always run out of boba. i have had so much different experience i had to share on here and update my review. i think they should have more boba shipped to them from taiwan instead of always running out of supplies. they do got their product down but when a customer drives all the way over there and running out of that item, it makes them mad and disappointed. now i have learn that it is best to call first and check before making a long or short drive just for the drink. i think boba is the main thing, when your a big boba fan and they don't have boba i don't want no other drink from them. the drink is only good to me because i love my boba. overall hope my experience helps for their improvements and hope it doesn't happen to you. thanks for reading and add of follow me on yelp.

Yum! I'm obsessed with this place. I seriously drive from Davis to Sacramento just for this. They have really good Jasmine Milk tea and Oolong milk tea. Their sizes are HUGE! If you get a large it can seriously be enough for 2 people only for 4 dollars. The staff is extremely friendly and some very passionate on their toppings. They have games here which are entertaining. They are also super quick (drinks are pre-made) and I usually get the drink right after I place my order which is very impressive.

I came here with my sister and brother in law because they were raving about it. They said how their cups are huge and they have good milk tea. Now, I don't like tea (I'm a bad asian, I know) but I was hoping they would have other drinks as other boba shops usually do. We came on a Saturday night around 7:45pm. There was a table of three enjoying their drink and playing a game. We were immediately greeted by the male cashier. The establishment had a strong citrus smell - kinda like cleaning product? It was a little off putting. Their menu isn't very large but they have some specials I've never really heard of, like roasted milk tea. My sister and her husband got that and enjoyed it. I got the mango 101. A female worker said instead of tea it was water. I wanted it to be a slushy, but it was iced. So it was cold mango flavored water? Kinda weird haha but the flavor was good. Wish they had more drinks without tea, but since they are a "tea bar," I guess I shouldn't of expected much. The male worker did check in with us and asked how we liked our drinks, so that was nice. The establishment has old school board games, so it seems like they want you to hang out there. Their seating, however, does not really encourage that. All of the tables and chairs are tall, so it's not that comfortable (especially if you're short like me). We thought about playing jenga, but the thought of all the pieces falling off the small, high table and onto the ground discouraged us. It seems like they'd make more money if they have snacks as well. Maybe in the future. A slideshow of pictures show that they do fundraisers and cater. Note: When I was there they were playing explicit r&b/hip hop music. I don't mind, but would have felt uncomfortable if my mother was with me. Seems like they're catering to the high school/college crowd.

I really really love this place. I've had a lot of boba, and I think this is the best place in town. If you don't know which boba you want, they give you samples! I always get the Jasmine Green Tea Large with boba or grass jelly in it. $3.50 for regular size and $4 for the large. Boba is 50 cents more. Honestly, just the get the $4 large with boba. It's the cheapest I've seen around for that size. It's massive and soooo worth it. Their drinks are pretty consistent. I've been here probably over 10x's and it has tasted the same. One time it didn't, and I asked the guy to add in more sugar. He realized later that they didn't add creamer and gave me a new one. So yeah, super great customer size and pretty consistent taste in drinks. The only bummer I would say is that sometimes if you come late, they run out of some drinks. I like their roasted milk tea and oolong tea, but it's a disappointment to not have the jasmine green tea sometimes. Overall, this boba place is awesome and I will always come back to it when I'm in Sac. Totally recommend it to everyone.

This place was really good, by far the best place I've had in awhile. There is a choice of how sweet you want your tea to taste. This was my first time here so I wanted to try the milk tea with grass jelly, I also tried 120% sugar which was really good. This location has a few tables and a few high seats to hang out with your buddies while you enjoy your drink. They have a clean bathroom for both sexes in the back. They accept cash and card payments. I would highly recommend giving this place a shot. Ive attached a picture of my drink, as well as a picture of the menu on the door. A very good vibe coming in here and the dude at the cash register was very friendly.

I've seen a lot of my friends posting drinks from here. The last time I was in the area, I didn't have time to try it. But today, I had time. It was HOT af outside, so I wanted something refreshing to cool me down. I decided to come try out this place. It's small. Kinda reminds me of...actually, any type of boba place high schoolers come to after school. They have, from what I could remember, were mixed green teas. I got the mango green tea, no boba, no toppings, regular sweetness. Why add more calories and sugar? They're regular size was pretty huge. I was thinking of getting the large because most places, they're large is small. I got up to the counter and saw that the regular was an actual large! Sweet! So I got the regular size instead. The mango was good at first, then I get hit with the sugar. WAY too sweet! I shoulda gotten it reduced like my sister did. Oh well, I'll do that next time. Even when all the ice melted, it was still super sweet. Service was okay. They were kinda busy with one order. The person ordered like 10 drinks or something. Girl was nice, but she didn't smile...a smile goes a long way. I would come back, but I would ask for a less sweet drink. The mango was just too sweet for me.

Love their milk tea. Jasmine is my favorite. BUT.. Rude service. Walked in and stood in front of the register for 5 min without being acknowledged. I was the only one in line . Note that there were two workers and both were in the front making drinks. The lady looked at me and looked back with out saying hello . JUST PLAIN RUDE.! && UPDATE: Waited 5 min in line 29 min waiting for my drink. I only order ONE DRINK. Does not take almost 30 minutes to make. They need for workers. The girl with the glasses was just rude over all. Didn't say thanks or sorry for waiting. && the guy who order after me got his drink with in 10 min of ordering. We order the same drink but different topping. THIS IS SUCH A JOKE.

Roasted milk tea is the bombbbb. I pretty much only get this drink everytime I come here. $3.50 for a regular, $4.00 for a large. Go with the large!! It's pretty big, but ohh sooo worth it :) good quality toppings, great customer service!

Came here with a couple of friends. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with pudding and 70% sweet. My friends ordered the matcha milk tea with red bean, black milk tea with grass jelly, and the honey green tea. Overall, not a bad place for boba drinks. But definitely not the best place I've tried. Not horrible though. I think 70% sweet was perfect. I tried my friend's matcha milk tea at regular sweetness and it was a little too sweet. I'm not too familiar with the boba places in Sacramento since I was just passing through, but I'd probably be back if I didn't feel like trying a new place.

Despite trying only one drink so far, this place has everything I want in a boba place. Huge sizes, cheap prices, acceptance of credit cards, and really good boba. I ordered one of their popular drinks displayed on the menu (The Mango Slush w/Boba) and it tasted refreshing, and good. You're able to customize the sweetness levels here, but I typically get it regular anyway which was perfect. Not too sweet or watery. Their own version of boba, "Teaballs",which were white, tasted pretty good and had good texture. I think it was one of the best ones I have tried actually. They were pretty generous with the portion too. Toppings were cheap (I think $.25 cents/topping), as were the drinks (About $4 for a 24oz, which was their "regular" size). If I'm ever in the area again, I'm definitely coming back here to try their other drinks.

This review is long overdue. I have never loved a milk tea/boba shop until now. CTB not only offers deliciously made drinks, but EXCELLENT customer service! Starting with the drinks, they are always consistently delicious. There's a good balance between creamy and tea flavor. I love that they don't skimp on portion/size or on toppings. The main thing I rave about when it comes to CTB is their customer service. All the workers are extremely nice and strive to make their customers happy. On one occasion, they had ran out of their TBalls (boba) so I substituted grass jelly in my drink instead. However, when they had handed me my drink, I overheard the workers saying the boba was ready to be served. Upon hearing this, I asked if I could have my drink remade with boba, but if it was a problem I would be okay with my original drink. The worker had no problem with making my drink again, this time with the topping I wanted. On another occasion, my boyfriend and I had bought two drinks, and they gave us a third free of charge for being loyal customers! I absolutely love Cool Tea Bar, and will continue to return. One of the best milk tea shops in Sacramento!

Probably my favorite milk tea place in Sacramento, around $4 gets you a huge cup with reasonable ice and delicious grass jelly. I wish other places would up their portions also. The place is small but colorful and the service is a hit or miss. Sometimes I get someone nice/friendly, other times I get someone who acts like they'd rather be elsewhere. My favorite is the number 1 & 2 and I always get extra sweet because I'm a glutton. Haven't tried the other drinks tho because I'm afraid of getting something I wouldn't like. One thing I hate is the location, everyone knows how busy and crazy the streets are around these plazas. But it's tolerable. I'd also love it if they had Thai tea on the menu so that I won't have to drive to Lollicup or Tap Ex for it. Anyways, great place - don't be afraid to check it out, and I'll be a loyal regular :)

  • Sara T.

To be honest, I kind of do like this place. The prices are reasonable. My favorite drink here is the Honey Green Tea -- $3.50 for regular and $4.00 for large, and cups here are quite big :) The service is quite fast, but if you go in when there is a crowd you may have to wait a bit. They do have samples, so you can taste some of the drinks before you order. The drinks can be super duper sweet so make sure to order it like 50% or 75% sweet! Overall, good place to hangout, drinks are good, but the music here can get a bit loud.

  • Samantha F.

FOOD: Been here twice to order: 1) Matcha Milk Tea - very good! Strong matcha flavor and not diluted or overpowering with milk. 2) Taro Milk Tea (50% sweet) - tasted like really taro diced and blended and (maybe) boiled with added milk and sugar. Tasted more like milk. Not the biggest fan of their Taro Milk Tea SERVICE: friendly service, but takes awhile for the order to be made since there are usually only 2 workers. AMBIANCE: bigger than your typical milk tea shop, plenty of seating and tables.

    (3)
  • Rosio R.

If you plan on getting matcha green tea don't get less than 100% sugar. Sister got 70% and it was super bitter! Hope we can fix it at home. Maybe we'll try something else on our next visit and grow to like it for more frequent visits. On a better note It was exciting to see the new location coming soon to EG on whitelock! I'll be there!

I got the regular milk tea with grassy jelly. The grass jelly was soft and really good. The milk tea was equally tasty. There really is not much more to say. I would come again.

All these new tea spot popping up everywhere in Sac got me excited! My friends brought Cool Tea Bar some over so I was able to take sip of their Peach Black Tea and Roasted Jasmine Milk Tea and both were delicious! The next day, I went for myself and was surprised to see Honey Pomelo Juice on the menu! I ordered a regular size for myself and really enjoyed it because I love pomelo. I think next time, I'll ask for less honey and none of the pomelo rinds that they add in there. I also ordered a #1, which I believe is the Roasted Jasmine Milk Tea with t-noodles for my gf and she loved it. Service is great, the girls were really sweet and didn't give me half a$$ answers when I asked them if such and such was a good choice. I'll definitely be back since they close at midnight, hence the 4 stars!!

I came here a few months ago and got the roasted milk tea with grass jelly. The price is decent as the cups are HUGE. However I was super disappointed that they didn't have pearls when I first visited. The roasted milk tea was good though. I sampled their peach oohlong tea today and it was super good which is why I ordered it but when I got my drink it didn't taste like the sample. Not even a slight change but an overwhelming honey taste that I didn't taste in the sample. The service here is always quick and friendly! But hopefully their drinks could be a little more consistent.

This place is pretty amazing simply not just for the drinks but the fact that you were able to sample their drinks. My friends introduced me to this place yesterday. I ordered a roasted milk tea with grass jelly. It was pretty darn good considering it was my first time here. The service is also pretty well. The worker there always had a warm smile on their faces. Overall good place to hang out and get some tea. The next time you come here, make sure to sample their drinks first. A lot of their drinks tend to be on the more sugary side, so it's important to try first then can decide on lowering the sugar or not.

I got the Jasmine Milk Tea with boba and it was so yummy! Their sizes are huge and staff is nice. Service was super quick and the staff was really nice. They let you make adjustments to your drinks regarding sugar/sweetness and add ins, too! I highly recommend this place!

The young the lady at the front was very kind and helpful. I appreciate the free samples. I ordered the mango oolong and my gf had the peach oolong. Both were refreshing, but I like the mango more. The drink was a bit too sweet for my taste, but it didn't overwhelm the tea taste and you can also customize the sweetness level. Decent price for their larger than regular size. I feel like the seating arrangement can use more depth. It's all high round tables and high stools. Perhaps they can add a section with lower seating where your feet can touch the ground. Oh yeah, the inside is pink as fuck. My niece would love the decors but she'll have a hard time getting up on the stool.

This place is awesome!!! I'm a regular (going almost every two days) and I can't believe I'm finally now writing a review lol. I would say they have the best milk tea (#2 Tea bar milk tea) in Sacramento and many of my friends agree! I also love the mango tonic and mango green tea!! Love the mango syrup!! This place will gladly give you samples to almost all the drinks so you would really like what you order. You can also adjust the sweetness and add toppings to your drink. My favorite toppings are T noodles and grass jelly. They don't have boba, but I heard they'll be having it soon... I also love the environment of the place! Great music and vibe. Opens until midnight which is such a plus, especially in Sac where everything closes at 9.

Really really good boba!! Its probably the best I've had but their drinks are a little more pricey. I had the mango tonic and absolutey loved it. I would still prefer Lollicup because it's also pretty good and just a list cheaper.

This place is very nice, although very loud i still come here to study because of the drinks and to hangout. The place is very cool so if its hot outside you might want to come here to grab a drink and dont forget that they have cards so that youll be able to play 13.

First thought when I walked in: Wow, this place is very PINK! Very spacious, cute, and looks clean. I finally tried the infamous Grass Jelly Roasted Milk Tea! It was different from what I've ever tasted and the roasted flavor was good :). I got 100% sweetness and even though it was great in the beginning, it ended up being too sweet for my friend and I a third of the way into the cup. Unless you're the type to like really sweet drinks, I recommend asking for a slightly lower sweetness level. I've also tried my other friend's jasmine milk tea and that was really good too! I'll get that the next time I come back. Adding other toppings is only 50 cents, and their cup sizes for a regular is really a large. We were surprised how big the cups were!! Best size and great prices :). Service was friendly and offered us samples as well. I hope they add more options on their menu in the future! :)

This is an updated review from a month or two back: I first gave this place four stars, but I find myself here almost every couple days that I had to bump them to a 5. I always have a Cool Tea Bar craving it seems. Their milk tea is honestly the best in Sacramento. They don't have normal boba as of now (though I heard from one of the workers that they are planning on getting them soon) but you can't go wrong with their grass jelly. It's made from scratch and the softest I've ever had. I personally love their number 2 and 3 on the menu. The milk tea and jasmine milk tea is very flavorful and always on point. Customer service is great. The workers are always friendly. Side note: Christina is my favorite. She is always friendly and always has a smile on her face. It's always a pleasure being served by her.

I'm not a fan of milk (a little lactose intolerance) and not a fan of tea (except lemon and sweet tea) so the combination of milk tea in general is not my drink at all. From all the hype about their milk tea, I finally gave them a try. I actually like their milk tea. Its very different from all the other milk tea I've kinda tried in the past. Of course, just a sip here and there from someone else's cup hehe...I have tried their #2 which is the Tea Bar with added grass jelly. One time with 70% sugar and another time with 50% sugar. I will stick with 70% sugar, not too sweet and not too bland. The grass jelly is very soft. You can just suck it up the straw! They were freshly made. The services here have been great. So far, no problem with them. Always so nice and helpful. They give out samples as well. They accept both cash and credit which is a plus. I usually don't like to go to places when its just cash only. I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me on that. One of the downside for this place is that they don't have boba. If they happen to have honey boba in the future, you will see me coming here as a regular too haha..Another con about this place is that at night time, they flash their lights like if you are in a club. The flashing lights are a little too much for me. Its very nice but I don't think its necessary If you like milk tea in general, you should definitely give them a try if you're in the area. My family is already a regular there and they're just open like a month to 2 ago. They go like almost everyday. I'm not exaggerating. My family goes there like 3-5 times a week! They love it that much. On top of that, they always get their large size. Overall, this place is a must go for milk tea lover.

Cool Tea Bar has the best tasting milk tea in Sacramento. I always go with the roasted milk tea with grass jelly. The workers are super nice and indoors there are high topped tables and chairs to hang out and enjoy your drink(s)!

Very friendly workers. They always give out free samples too. So far I like the tea bar milk tea and oolong peach tea. Best grass jelly in town! My only complaint is that they skimp on the toppings. All the times I went I got more ice than jelly :/

I'm so glad milk tea places are opening up in this area! Cool Tea Bar has become one of my favorite spots to get milk tea in Sacramento. Their tea is customizable as most boba places are now of its ice and sugar level. The large cup is HUGE, and perfect for those days when you crave milk tea like crazy. I find that sometimes when I get milk tea, I'm usually halfway done with it by the time I get to the car, so it's nice to have milk tea that lasts til you get home! I've tried several of their milk teas including roasted, matcha, and jasmine. The matcha was a little disappointing, but I might just have high standards for it since I've found my favorite matcha milk tea spot. Both the jasmine and roasted milk tea are really good, imo, so which one I get completely depends on my mood.

I came here on a full stomach but I was craving tea. From the moment I walked in the girls there were very inviting. One of them noticed we were first timers and immediately gave us free samples and we all know how I love free samples. Lol. Anyway, the first sample was the kumquat green tea which I ended up buying. The flavor was refreshing and slightly sweet for a perfect combination. It had a hint of calamansi flavor and made me remember my childhood. Yay. So 5 stars for the excellent service and the amazing flavors!

I can see why people may complain about the wait. Can't really blame them when there's a bunch of people coming in at once and ordering stuff like smoothies. (Notice how long it takes? Or is it just me). Anyways grass jelly roasted and mango green tea are my favorite. I feel like I've tried almost everything because they let me sample it. Their customer service is on point. Easy to talk to workers that actually care if you like your drink or not. I asked for a sugar level change and to make sure, they asked me to taste it before even giving it to me. I also heard that if they messed up on your drink, they'd make a new one for you right away. Versus tea culture, cool tea bar's sweetness is much more realistic and doesn't feel as if you drank a whole cup of sugar. They also use real brewed tea for everything!!! Except for tonics I believe. Really awesome setting, but the music does get pretty loud at night. I'm sure if you asked them to turn it down, they'd do it. A returning customer always.

The atmosphere is great here! I love the surroundings with in side the shop! They play good music and are very friendly! You even get your choice of the amount of Super used to make your drink! Awesome! And right now they are doing a IPHONE6 give away! ! So come in and get that drink and go in on that iphone! ;) GOOD LUCK!!

The difference between Cool Tea Bar and other boba places is that this place allows you to taste test a drink before actually ordering it! Definitely a plus since people always have such a hard time figuring out how drinks taste or what they're feeling. I like that I can definitely taste the tea behind all the drinks. Super great how friendly and talkative the staff is too! I enjoy the grass jelly roasted milk tea, half sweet ! I normally get half ice, but I would definitely recommend sticking to normal ice because the drink tastes better when cold. (I had an experience where I ordered half ice, but because it wasn't cold enough I waited to drink it until after cooling it in the fridge. Then it tasted great!) I also really like the Jasmine Milk Tea, half sweetened! It's like your typical traditional milk tea.

Pretty good. Got the no.1 which was grass jelly and roasted milk tea. I like that you can customize it like other boba places but they have limited toppings and the only thing I dislike about it is that they don't have boba!!! Overall taste is good but I'm a big boba lover. Oh yeah their sizes are a lot larger than average boba shops!

Definitely a new favorite place for me. I enjoy their roasted milk tea with grass jelly and the peach green tea with lychee. My mom loves their mango green tea :)

This place is pretty amazing. In the Davis-Sacramento Area, this has to be my favorite tea place to go to. The prices are decently cheap and the drinks tastes great! For a large size, which is larger than your average large sized cup at any other boba place, without any toppings would cost you $4! That is so cheap and the tea is great! You're allowed to customize the drink in terms of the level of sweetness, which I appreciate a lot. I usually order the Jasmine Milk Tea with 50% or 70% sweetness and it is just right. If you're from the Bay Area and have been to a place called Verde, you would say that the taste in this tea is very similar to that of Verde's. It's smooth and very rich, which I enjoy a lot! This really satisfies my cravings for Verde, and I don't have to drive 90+ miles to get it. Another drink I thoroughly enjoy is the Roasted Milk Tea. The tea flavor is very strong in this one, so when I'm aching for more of a tea flavor with the richness of a milk tea, i would go after this one. Since its tea taste is stronger, I would recommend getting it at 70% sweetness. The flavored teas are also great, but to get them at regular sweetness is far too taste for my liking. Go for 50% if you aren't looking to drink straight up sugar. The decor of the place is pretty hip and interesting. All the colors are nice and vibrant which keep the place looking lively. They changed their tables and there are a lot more tables now, however they only seat 2 people per table, which is kind of a disappointment. The tables and chairs are also very high, and a bit flimsy. But if you're just looking to grab tea and go, it shouldn't be a problem. When it comes night time, at around 9:30, they usually dim the lights and turn up their music, which gives it sort of a bar ambiance. However, the strobe lights can be a bit much. It's a nice place overall, with good drinks, decent prices, and helpful workers! My friends and I drive up from Davis all the time!

Love seeing new tea shops pop up in Sacramento! However, I'm turned off by their "no boba" concept. I'm the type of person that has to have boba in my drinks so I wasn't sure how to feel. They also have a picture of a drink with sea cream, however, when I asked about it they told me that they didn't have it yet. C'mon now! I mean, you're really playing with my emotions here. I finally decided to just order anything. I got the roasted milk tea with grass jelly and t-noodles (which is supposed to substitute for boba). The roasted milk tea was decent, the grass jelly was really good but the t-noodles was a flop for me. Not a fan. Oh, and on another note. I saw on their screens that they have tea making classes for kids which is pretty darn cool. I'll give this place another try when they start serving sea cream.

Cool Tea Bar is more of a tea place than a tapioca drink place. I don't think I even saw boba on the menu. But they do offer some fruit flavored drinks. It can be a little hard to find if you've never been. Not sure when they opened, but there's no signage. Looking at fellow Yelper's photos, I was able to locate it next to the jewelry store in the SF supermarket strip mall. Thus far, I've only been once. But the ability to customize the sugar level on your milk tea is great. I find a lot of other places that sell milk tea make it too sweet for my taste. So being able to cut down the sweetness is a nice option. If you want a solid milk tea, try the #1. It does seem a little pricey for a drink, but note that their regular size is like a large size compared to other places. (And large is like an extra large). 3 stars for a good milk tea, but one star gone for not being offered a stamp card when the person in front of me used one and minus another star for the loud music.

I've been here a few times and I usually get their grass jelly roasted milk tea. The first few times there is a decent amount of strong flavor but the ones I recently got I couldn't really taste the tea flavor. You are able to sample some of the items which is nice for first timers or if you're curious and want to try. If you get a drink and do not like it, you could get a new one for free. You can also pick the level of sweetness you want. I believe the levels 70% 50% 30% and 0% sweet. I think you can get it over 100% but I don't choose that option. I personally go for 30% which I like. Service here is friendly, every time I've been there they are super nice. People don't like that they don't serve boba here but the toppings they have a decent so I don't mind that they don't have boba.

I had the No.1 grass jelly roasted milk tea. It was awesome!! There is no boba tho but I was satisfied with what they offfered. I got to taste their passion fruit green tea and that was also good. My recommendation is to get the roasted milk tea with the grass jelly or not.

  • Kevin H.

I like the tea here. They don't use powder to make their drinks. This makes the shop a very valuable tea station because just most tea stations use Taiwanese powder. Customer service is okay. Not great. As for the location, it could be better. I am not from South Sacramento but some of my friends are. To me, I think it would've been better if it was situated on Freeport or Elk Grove.

This place is the bomb!!! I ordered a large roasted milk tea with grass jelly and a regular mango green tea.. Sooooo good!!! (: The customer service is amazing! They are so sweet! They kept insisting I sample drinks to make sure I got exactly what I wanted. Also, even after I placed my order, they had me sample my drinks as they made it to make sure it was perfectly sweetened. How nice is that?! The roasted milk tea is great! Like everyone else said, it definitely has a unique nutty flavor unlike the other milk teas you normally get. The grass jelly is also good! So soft and delicious, a great compliment to their milk tea! Their mango green tea is also so good! I usually hate getting flavored fruit teas because you can usually taste the syrup... a little too much.. But cool tea bar is different, just enough sweetness, so refreshing and doesn't taste like a cup of fructose haha! Their sizes are so generous as well! The large should actually be called a humongous! And their regular is the size of a large drink at other places like TapEx, tea culture, lollicup, etc! Their prices are so great for how much you get. They also aren't cheap! Other places fill up 80% of your cup with ice but not Cool Tea Bar! Too much to love about this place! I love the drinks I've tried so far and can't wait to come back for more! They are also open till midnight, awesome! THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE PEOPLE!!! A NEW FAVORITE!!!

I've gotten NUMBER 2 everyday for the past 5 days! tea bar with grass jelly (depending on my mood) is definitely the way to go :) at first I ordered it extra sweet... But one time I forgot to, and it was still good enough for me, so 100% regular is great for me. NUMBER 1 is also good! The taro milk tea has only one size available and the texture of the drink is odd. It's kind of like drinking ube ice cream while it's melting. I wouldn't recommend it but each to their own.

YO, Cool Tea Bar is THE place to GO!!!!!! I love the name and how it fits perfectly to their description!! Cool: this place has a cool design! I love the color and atmosphere of the place! Very spacious!! Tea: the tea was delicious! I love that they let us sample the tea! We tried the mango green tea (yum!), roasted milk tea (double yum!), and jasmine milk tea (good), all regular sugar level (100%). I liked them all but I ended up getting the roasted milk tea with grass jelly!!! IT WAS mmMmMAZING!! They said grass jelly is made fresh daily and you can really tell!! For the size of the drink, the price is not too bad! Bar: So we came in a little later around 9PM and we sat there enjoying our tea when the server asked if "we mind if she can blast the music" and we're like sure... A few minutes later, she turned off the lights so it was dark and then turned on some other bright lights, music was very hip too. It felt like a "bar" environment. Anyways, must try!!! :D

A fun small drink spot in the heart of the Vietnamese plaza, it is more modern then the other places around the area and has a special flavoring to their drinks. would recommend their #1 drink because for me it is the go to drink.

Love, love, love, LOOOOVE this cool tea bar! Not only are their drinks good but the customer service is amazing! The girl cashier is super friendly and positive! The drinks themselves are pretty good! If you like the taste of tea, their drinks are flavorful! I'm so glad they have one in Sacramento now!

This is a nice little place ! Pretty clean. It was slow when I went in so I just walked up to the front. The menu is on a digital screen and there are a limited number of items to choose from. I sampled the number 5 -mango tea and the 1 - roasted milk tea. I really liked the milk tea and it was satisfying . I hope they expand their menu cuz then it'd be five stars imo! Friendly staff and pretty good service. Will be back to try other stuff. Also, the large for 50 cents more is so oooo worth it! I don't think I'd ever be able to finish it tho. It's HUGE.

To my surprising, I actually really like this place :) It's geared towards the younger crowd for sure. For anyone who's curious about trying this place out, I'd recommend getting the #1 (Roasted Milk tea with grass jelly). It has this indescribably great nutty taste to it, like you can actually taste the tea in it. Have you guys ever noticed at other boba places, you can't really taste the tea? For example the thai teas at other places are super milky. Overall, I'd definitely come back. I live in Elk Grove, but it's worth the short drive to the little saigon area.

Don't trust the reviews. They should call this store milk instead of tea since milk tea doesn't even taste like tea. It's all milk and sugar. Disgusting. The worker are bunch of teens who doesn't like to greet their customers and the skinny guy doesn't know how to thank customers.

    (1)
  • Mandy H.

The Mango Green Tea is pretty refreshing. It can be on the sweet side so maybe ask for less sugar. I've found myself ordering this drink w/ no ice at night, so I can take it to work in the morning. It's a great morning pick me up when I know I won't be in the mood for Starbucks.

Oh my goodness! This place is sooooo amaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing. Definitely one of the newest hot spots in sacramento! They have such high quality service and tea. My mom and I went in together for our first time and the workers greeted us as if they knew us! They were so patient with us when we were ordering and catering to our every need. They offered us taste testers for pretty much every drink on the menu. I highly recommend the Jasmine Milk Tea & Mango Green Tea. I've heard great things about the T-Noodles but I haven't tried them personally, yet. But I hope to soon! (:

I am really glad Cool Tea Bar opened since Tapioca Express has definitely been on a decline. I really enjoy their #1 (roasted milk tea with grass jelly); I love drinking hojicha (roasted green tea) on its own and am glad to be able to have it in milk tea form. They are my new favorite boba place in Sac. Pros: -They have interesting boba (eg. noodle boba) which are fun to try something new. -They offered us samples when we weren't sure what to try. -You can also customize the amount of sugar you want -Friendly service highly tolerant of my indecisiveness -boardgames available -size of drinks Cons -music always seems really loud -no foodstuffs -not a lot of tables

Ahh, new obsession the grapefruit green tea is sooo good. Hooked on the tnoodles it tastes so much better than boba. I'd choose this place over all the surrounding spots and elkgrove spots, even lollicup surprisingly.

A few weeks ago I finally got a chance to stop by and try Cool Tea Bar. I am a major fan of boba so I had to give it a try since I've heard great things about this place. It is fairly new so it does seem to be a favorite hang out spot for the youngsters. The girl working the counter was super nice. Since it was our first time here she let us try a bunch of different infused flavored teas and we were pretty much getting full off the samples alone :) I decided on the kumquat black tea and their large is really a large. You can also adjust the sweetness of your tea so that was a plus. Ours turned out really good, it had a nice combination of sweet and sour, with a light hint of citrus aromatics to it. This is now my new favorite Sacramento boba spot. Will definitely be returning here soon for tea.

  • Elle W.

I love the fact that their tea is brewed vs those powders boba places. Although the selection is not the greatest the drinks are great. My favorite is the jasmine milk tea with grass jelly at a 30% sweet level. That's another reason why I love their drinks, you can select the level of sweetness. The grass jelly here isn't like most other places. It's a big ole chunk of grass jelly and to me that's pretty neat. Most other boba places their drinks are too sweet for my palate. The only other place I love to get my "Asian" drinks is from 85* but since it's too far my only option is cool tea bar.

  • Linda L.

This place is great. Good drinks. I recommend trying their grass jelly. It tasted fresh and had a great texture. I've tried the roasted milk tea. I think it's too sweet so I recommend going to a smaller percentage for the sweetness. The peach green tea is also amazing. Again tone down the sweetness. Oh and ask for samples! The workers are nice and extremely helpful. Only downsides are no boba. Yes NO BOBA. And no food. But great place to try new drinks especially for the hot season.

  • Yvonne P.

I been here a couple times and it is amazing! The regular milk tea, green tea, and jasmine milk tea are the best drinks I think they have. Their taro is good but since it is real taro, the drink is kinda thick. You need to have an acquired taste to like it. Other then that, the workers are hella friendly :D

  • Nguyet K.

I love the roasted milk tea with grass jelly. The milk tea wasn't water down like many place I have tried. They have so many options like black and green tea. They had the option of sugar levels which is pretty cool because I have been to other boba place that make it too sweet. There was a lot of grass jelly, and it just melts in your mouth. I can't wait for them to get boba in though. So YUMMY! Writing this review make me want to go back for more. I was super surprise the first time I came here. Their large cup is the largest cup I seen a boba place having and their regular size cup is a large cup everywhere else. They haven't got boba in yet, they said soon though. The staff was super nice and friendly, since it was my first time with my group of friends. They was very patient and understanding. They asked everyone if we wanted to taste any drinks before ordering. Key thing was that they open late.

Great milk teas and cool trends. Bar like atmosphere. No boba here, but many other add-ins are available. You can even sample flavors.

It was a bit hard to find because they didn't have a sign up, you had to look for it. Other than that, The place is soo cute! They offered samples and if they didn't have one ready, they would make it for you right then and there! Great service and friendly. I ordered a lot of different drinks for the family and everyone enjoyed it. I had the roasted tea with grass jelly and it was delicious. My family loved the mango tonic and the mango green tea as well. They're not overly sweet which is a plus! I don't like too much sweet. The pricing was not too bad. I paid $30 for 7 drinks. I also noticed that they are open until midnight.. OMG!

Large is really large here. I got their popular roasted milk tea with lychee jelly, couldn't stop shaking. Must have been a strong brew that day. But no regrets! It was really good. Maybe too good cause I came back the next day. Lines can get quite long, and sometimes they do run out of add ons but that's what happens when it's good.

Love, love, love!!! It lives up to its' name! This tea joint offer different flavors that are not found in Sacramento since it is roasted milk tea. The prices are average and the staff are welcoming. Give it a try! :)

Chill environment, friendly workers, and good drinks! I came in with two other friends for the first time the other day. It was pretty late at night and it looked like a club or rave in there! The music was blasting and there was even a disco ball--A FRICKIN DISCO BALL!! When we got to the front of the line, we were greeted by friendly and helpful workers. They offered samples and suggestions! I ended up trying the mango green tea and was hooked! It was smooth and had a real tea fragrance to it. Not powdery like most places that offer the same type of drinks. They offered to adjust the sweetness level for me, but it was already at a good level. They didn't have boba yet (they're working on it so I've been told), but they had something similar called t-noodles. They even let me sample the topping! It was different, but I liked it! All in all, great first experince and I'll definitely be coming back!

  • Diem T.

Their Teas are awesome! I love their #1 it was 4.50 and it came with grass jelly. Keep in mind this place doesn't have boba. They do not allow you to make your own drinks as well! But their drinks on the menu are all super bomb. Their Mango Tea is really good too. Don't get the other mango crap because its just sprite and tea in it and they don't allow grass jelly in it.

  • Kathy W.

This is probably my favorite boba place in the Sacramento area. It's a bit far of a drive for me from Elk Grove but it's way worth it. I always get the #1 and I like how they have options of different sweetness levels cause I like it when my milk tea drinks have the tea flavor still and it isn't way sweet. At first I couldn't find the place because they didn't have a sign but it's just to the left of Tk Noodle!

  • Jason M.

I'm not a big fan of the actual boba- but I do love milk tea/ tar bars! It's nice to see an affordable place that serves decent tea based drinks. I got the #1- grass jelly roasted milk tea. It wasn't too sweet event with regular sweetness, but I must say, the portions here are huge! My friend got a large and it literally was the size of my two hands! You're definitely set with getting a regular. Great tea IMO, hopefully I'll be coming around more often!

I order their large no.1- grass jelly roasted milk tea. It's delicious, and it's almost intimidating how big the sizes are! You're definitely getting your money's worth no matter if you order a regular or a large! I will definitely come back here again to try their other drinks.

I came here on a whim with my friend one day because she was talking about how great it was. I have never heard of it but she convinced me to come give it a try. Right when I walked in I was greeted by the two girls at the front and they made me feel very welcomed. Since it was my first time they offered me samples and I loved them! The employees were so sweet and even offered to make me more samples to try. I ended up getting a large Tea Bar Milk Tea with grass jelly and egg pudding. When I saw their large I was surprised. Their regular would be considered a large at other tea houses and their large would be considered an extra extra large. It's crazy. I wasn't a big fan of milk tea or flavored tea, but Cool Tea Bar definitely changed my mind. I'm definitely a regular here now. They have free wifi, good music, great customer service and amazing drinks. What more could you ask for from a tea house?

I love this place and their pricing is reasonable for the cup sizes unlike other boba shops where they over price for a small cup. I met the manager Chris, I think that's how you spell his name, he has really good customer service and is very friendly. I love how they always give samples and how they make their drinks fresh!

This place is great. I went here last night because I was craving my milk tea and saw that this place is open late which is a plus! The cashier that helped me was very friendly and fun. The pricing is good too. A regular size is $3.50 and a large is $4 which the large is huge! It's a great deal. I stayed for a while to play cards with friends. The cards were dirty and missing cards but hey, everyone uses them and they are bound to get dirty. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with t-balls. I guess that's what they call boba. It was good. The environment is nice and is a good place to catch up with friends. I will definitely be back!!!!

  • Jenny Y.

The mango green tea is so refreshing on a hot summer day. The roasted milk tea with grass jelly was pretty good. The regular size here is equivalent to a large in other places such as Quickly's or Tapioca Express and the large size is equivalent to a x-large.

    (4)
  • J L.

This is one of the better milk tea places in Sacramento. I enjoy their roasted milk tea and will keep going for that. The regular size is pretty huge too, so you get what you're paying for. I tried the matcha milk tea once and it was on the bitter side and made my stomach hurt. However, is it just me or does it always smell like bleach or some kind of cleaning agent in there?? I have to take one star off for this, because that along with the bright lighting inside gives me the biggest headache just entering in there.

I've been to almost every drink places around sacramento but ones like cool tea bar? Not many. I went in for the first time with a group of friends for a late night drink around 9pm ish, the place looks like one of those asian clubs! Its amazing! When i walked up to the front, the employees greeted us and they were very friendly. Anyways, it was our first time and we didnt know what to order. The employees offered us samples of their top selling drinks which was surprising! Unlike other drink places, they offer samples until you find a drink that fits your taste! Peach green tea and Jasmine milk tea definitely my must get drinks! It took a bit long for the drinks to be made but with the amount of drinks we ordered it's understandable. This place actually provide a pretty chilling environment! Just a side note, they have no boba but they've got something called T-noodles, sounds weird but i like trying new things so i gave it a try. It turns out not bad, its somewhat similar to boba. Overall, definitely my new favorite place to go to. I was truly amazed!

Good hours. High prices, but large sizes. Minus one star because they have a terrible stamp card. Buy ten drinks in a month and get a free gift. The gift this month is an iPhone 5 case which is useless.. Not that I would buy 10 drinks in a month.

I got the honey lemon aloe and it's yummy~ friendly staff and I got my drink right after I ordered. It opens until midnight everyday!!! I will come back and try other drinks for sure! Wish they open up one in Davis soon

Their green tea litchi is amazing. Perfectly sweetened and I love this place because they can adjust your sugar level.

Their taro tea was awful. Took one sip and threw it out. I did taste my friend's jasmine tea, and that was ok. Just saying: don't get the Taro tea!

This review is long over due. The first time I looked for this place I was so lost they had no sign. But when I finally found it I loved their milk tea. It's different from other places. I like how I can can adjust the sweetness to your liking. I usually get the Cool Tea Milk Tea, with extra sugar and extra ice when I am on the go because it's still flavorful when the ice melts. The roasted milk tea is pretty different and it's very good as well. I would give this place 5 stars, but I dropped one because of the wait time.

Such a great place. I just went with a friend and the guy working the cash register was super friendly and had a vast knowledge of the menu and its options. I give him props and he sold me on the large size. I really enjoy this place. It's a must go!

This place is actually more of a 3.5 than a 4 but I'll round up. They're the only Boba place in the nearby area without Boba. Their subsitute is T noodles, essentially boba but in a noodle like form. Also the only place that has the roasted milk tea. Flavor is okay but I still prefer their jasmine milk tea with grass jelly. The grass jelly is made fresh so you've got to try it! I do also enjoy the T noodles in my drink as well. They also let you customize sweetness levels. If it is your first time at Cool Tea Bar, they offer samples. Just ask the cashier or the person making the drinks. I would also double check your receipts because I was over charged twice before. But they did give me back my money if you just show them your receipt. Since they have opened the interior seating has changed out a few times. Don't feel like it's comfortable to sit for long periods. Only drinks at this place, no food, & no outside food either. Their service is on the slower end too.

Really good service, however a little too loud when he was taking my order. The milk tea was really good, sweetness was perfect. The grass jelly was really soft and really good. definitely recommend ! Btw I ordered the roasted milk tea with grass jelly.

we walk in and are about to order and they tell us the boba is not ready and it will take about 30 minutes. ONE JOB-have boba!

New boba place in Sacramento!!! Checking this out on Sunday morning and this place is just awesome. Plenty of seats. Perfect for hanging out with friends. I ordered the roasred milk tea with 30% sweet- the top seller here. It's just perfect for me. Not very sweet but rich in tea flavor. The price is really reasonable. With $3.50, you can get a pretty large cup. Definitely will come again.

I ordered what they recommended, Jasmine milk tea with boba. They forgot my boba and it wasn't sweet at all. COMPLETE FAIL

Grass Jelly Roasted Milk Tea with Tea Balls, 50% sweetness, is my go-to drink here. Milk and tea taste fresh with a nice balance of both. I prefer Tea balls over the regular Boba because the white ones don't stain my teeth. 1 star off because I had to wait 15 min. for my 2 orders...it was a busy day today. I see that they're trying to hire more staff, which is about time.

Workers are super nice with free samples! I usually Oder the jasmine milk tea with grass jelly. Tried the new t balls with jasmine milk tea today, they were okay. Portion of regular size and price was decent. Cool tea bar is usually the place I go to satisfy my boba cravings.

First time trying this place out and it was pretty good! I got the jasmine milk tea with grass jelly. Nice and friendly environment. Very clean and new. When I went it was as busy so didn't have to wait long for our drinks. Way better than Tea culture!

There's a lot of rave to this place saying how great it is. My best friend and I decided to give it a try. Saturday afternoon, hot summer day. These drinks are awesome to help cool you down. So Saturday afternoon, my best friend and I went in. The ambiance of this "bar" is like a high school hang out. I guess you can say how Lollicup on Franklin Blvd used to be back in the days. Not much of a lounge though. Just high tables and high chairs--approximately 8 tables, 4 seats each to be exact. Don't ask me why I'm being so damn precise, it just so happened I noticed. Music is loud. Personally I don't have a problem,I love to feel the music. Nice flat screen TV's They advertise kid classes showing them how to make the drinks. I actually thought that was rather cute. The menu is smaller than Tap Ex or Lollicup, but they offer some pretty popular drinks. They don't offer Boba, but they do every other jelly. No boba, what the... Dear Owners: SF Supermarket is right there next to you. Please run and grab some boba, thanks. =) Anyways.. Moving on... I ordered the Jasmine Milk Tea. Quite tasty, I approve. First drink there and I was addicted. Hm, I don't remember what my bestie got, some tea drink. It was good though. So good, we went to the mall for 2 hours and came back for seconds. This time, I came back to grab something for my hunny. Got him a Taro Milk Tea, real taro too. Personally, I didn't like it. It gave a weird texture. VETO. T-T Then I ordered their so called popular drink Mango Tonic. VETO, VETO, VETO! It tasted like just straight carbonation of soda. I mean, I'm sure that's probably how the drink should be. But definitely not my choice of a drink. I couldn't even drink it. Basically, I tossed it with no shame in the game. Oh yeah, the second time I came back, the bar looked like a Vietnamese Cafe. Lights turned down, music turned up, strobe light going.. Not bad for a kick it for kids. My only downfall, when I was there at night, it smelled like sh/t. I don't know what it was, or if the trash wasn't taken out. It smelt like mixed garbage. Sigh... Overall, based on my experience so far, I give it a 3 star. Hasn't given me a wow yet, but eventually, I'll be returning. I'll just leave it as that for now. Deuuuces ! =)

I give this place 3.5 stars. I was really excited when I heard there was going to be a cool tea bar that will be opened in Sac. I tried it in SF and really liked it. I've tried the roasted milk tea with grass jelly, jasmine milk tea, and the kumquat green tea with aloe vera. I think my favorite is the roasted milk tea and kumquat green tea. You usually don't see kumquat on the menu at milk tea places and it's actually really good so I would recommend people to try this. Setting: I'm not a really big fan of the loud music that they turn on at 9:30pm (?) and also the disco lights. I find it hard to socialize with my friends because we have to try and speak over the music. I also hope the weird paint smell is gone by now. My friends and I don't really want to go back because they don't like the smell.

I came here a few weeks ago with my girlfriend to buy a drink. The moment we walked in, it reeked of cleaning solution, it was to the point that it made it uncomfortable to be in the room. Another thing was that the music was too loud for typical background music, it also sounded horrible, if you're going to play loud music, at least have good speakers. Their song/artist choice was also disappointing (very ghetto), they had songs talking about girls and sex when there were little kids in there. Anyway, we placed an order for one drink and had to wait like 15 minutes for it (which is ridiculous), there were other people who got their drinks before us and they came in AFTER we did. After we got our drinks we left quickly, the drink was okay, but it's not something we would get again. - B

This locations has a unique smell. It is horrendous. I have been to a location in San jose, and it was much better. The staff was quick, and informative. The one in the sacramento location fails to provide this service. I gave it a single star because my cousins enjoy their drinks. I do not recommend visiting this location without a nose plug!!

They had a useful list of bestsellers on the board and the cashier was super friendly, pointing out which drinks were made with green tea (#1, #3) and which were made with black tea (#2). I got #1 Roasted (Milk) Tea with Grass Jelly, as did three others of our group. It wasn't the best milk tea drink I've ever had; it had a vaguely burnt smell (which might have been the point). Another friend got the mango tea, which was pretty tasty. I'd get that over my drink any day. The ambience was a tad weird for a boba place (dim with strobe lights and hip hop music, not at all like the usual bright KPOP-esque boba places). I appreciate the availability of board games and cards, though. Overall, a fun place to chill late at night.

The update is not for the drinks* I still love my usual drink, jasmine milk tea with grass jelly (so good) but the 1 star update is for tonight's experience 4/11/15. We came in around 9 pm and the music is blasted and is full of profanity...all F*** and b***** every other word. I was sitting there hoping no families/children come in and I left as soon as I got my drink. Upbeat mainstream music, hip hop or not, is fine but this music was not censored and was hard to listen to.

I came here with my boyfriend and his cousins. We came here on the second day of their opening. We just happened to find this place while going somewhere else and had to stop by. I love trying new drink places and this place is pretty awesome. They are extremely friendly and very patient to new customers. They also know a lot about their menu and were able to answer all the questions we had about their drinks. My boyfriend got the roasted milk tea with grass jelly and I got the Taiwan mango tonic. Both drinks are great and the mango tonic is refreshing for hot summer days. Definitely recommend this place!

I came to this place on a Saturday for the first time. The lady in the front was so kind and greeted my sister and I right when entering the door. Then we were trying to figure out what we wanted to drink. She was kind and asked if we would like any samples. I think she knew it was our first time. We ended up ordering Jasmine milk tea with grass jelly and roasted milk tea with grass jelly. I loved my Jasmine milk tea. It was one of the best one I had. Anyways, I came back the next day on Sunday. No one greeted us. I asked the girl in the front with the pink glasses and bang in her face for a sample. She didn't seem like she wanted to let me try at all. She said "uhhh.... I guess". Like are you kidding me. If you didn't want to do it in the first place then say no. Don't leave the shot cups(sample cups) in the front if you don't like giving samples. Also, when they give sample it shouldn't be hard. Everything looks pre made already. Another thing is, when they make the milk tea for us to sample, they make so much to where it's like a regular size drink. And then they only pour the mixture half way fool. Then they waisted hella milk tea. Aside from that, the place looks nice I guess. Had fun playing jenga. They only have high tables and chairs. All in all, ONE STAR FOR GOOD DRINKS, AND NO STAR FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE due to that rude girl who ruined it for me and my sister.

I love this place, and if you don't like it it's because you're use to the powdered milk teas they serve down the street. Be observant people! They use REAL tea lol, appreciate its TASTE and the fact that it's not LADLED out of a refrigerator but made to order. It's like comparing McDonalds apple pie with an apple hill pie.. Just sayin!

I've been here two or three times, and there's honestly nothing spectacular about this place. Their grass jelly hasn't been consistent the times I went. My bf ordered a drink and I ordered another and I got triple the amount of grass jelly and he hardly had any. It was like I had enough for both of us and then some, but he had like 3 pieces. Jasmine milk tea is pretty good, but nothing special. I've tried the roasted milk tea that a lot of reviews have been talking about, but it was so plain and disgusting. Waste of my money. The only thing that's different is their sizes. Regular is like a large; large is like an extra large. All in all, I'd rather get my fix at Lollicup. Besides, CTB doesn't offer boba.

  • Kevin N.

If you are a huge milk tea fan then this is the place for you. Their unique T noodles is something new to Sacramento and it is amazing. While it might not replace boba it is a great substitute. They are however going to get boba in the near future. Their employees are always friendly and the vibe here is great. They also offer games that you can play with friends. Oh and I would like to mention that they close at midnight every day which is a plus since most boba places close around 10. Overall, my experience here is great and I recommend it to the milk tea enthusiast.

This place is just ok, being that it is a new place still. Obviously, it's a place to hang out for the kids, but overall, the price is a littler bit more, but however, you do get a lot more liquid for the price. Would I make my way out to get a drink? Probably not, if I'm not in the area. There was nothing extraordinary about it.

I now know what the rave is all about! 1. Very clean and sleek looking place. 2. My first time here... and I usually order thai ice tea everywhere I go, so I wasn't sure what I wanted to order. 3. The girl up front offered me to try the jasmine milk tea. Thought she was only going to give me a sample, and ended up giving my friends (3) and I samples! 4. Not only did she gave us samples of jasmine milk tea, she even gave us samples of another tea without any of us asking. *At this point, I'm already impressed* 5. We sat down waiting for our drinks, she personally delivered the drinks to our table. I know this isn't a big deal, but it's the little things that count. 6. Upon leaving, my friend was trying to rearrange back the tables since we added two tables together and she was nice enough to tell my friend that it's okay.. She could rearrange it herself! I wished I got her name. Awesome service. 7. Oh, and about that jasmine milk tea? YES! It was delicious! I highly recommend. My friend had a mango jasmine tea, that's alright.

I have to get my weekly dose of cool tea bar :) I only get the jasmine milk tea and it's so fresh and good! The workers are always nice and I get great service each time. They offer free samples of whatever tea you want to try and are more than happy to do so. When I was busy at my table with my friends, one of the girl workers even brought the drink to our table. She was so sweet! I will definitely be coming back at least once or twice a week hehe

I've been here a couple times and this is my go to place for good tea drinks. This one doesn't have boba but its fine because they have other toppings to add in your drinks! I really love number one which is Roasted Milk eat with grass jelly, but if you do not like grass jelly just get the drink for only $3.50 which is a regular but anywhere else this size would be their large! The drink is big and you get what you paid for a more so! Also after 9pm the turn down the lights and have flashing lights to set the mood. It is definitely different from your everyday boba shop but its fun!

im about to get gangsta in this place. I came in there twice and each time it feels like im stepping into a vietnamese bar. They got strobe lights with other color lights flickering on and off. I thought i was about to di nhau (drinking) until i ordered their roasted milk tea. It was too delicious, so delicious that i told my girl to slap me, twice. Their taro drink is costly tho, i think it was like 7 bucks. I think it's gonna cheaper for me to grow my own taro, buy all the ingredients, buy a blender and create that drink myself. 7 damn bucks. SMH. Anyways, their customer service is really great. I would definitely come back...but maybe during the day cuz the last two times...i felt really scared with all them little girls and boys sitting in the dark drinking their milk teas and looking at me.

Ok , so let me just say that I needed to use the restroom so bad because I drank a ton of water before hand. With only one bathroom I waited for the person in there to come out. He came out quickly and left the store , then I went in. And OMG!!! He clogged the toilet and everything!!there was **** everywhere and I felt like leaving the place and it made me not want to buy anything anymore.. So I just held it in and decided to still try something out and , I absolutely love this place !!! Real authentically brewed tea and no powder used!! I love their flavors and service is soooo nice!! Aside from that guy who clogged the toilet, my first experience there was awesome and I'm always craving cool tea bar!! :) keep brewing guys!!

I always get the #1 with half sweet. Very satisfied. The cup sizes match the prices. I only have been to the ones in SF and Sacramento. These places have pretty much the same quality. However, the location in Sacramento plays EDMs with disco lights! Thats whats up! =)

    (4)
  • Kevin L.

It's really busy, but the customer service makes up for it. They allow samples of most drinks in case you are stuck deciding on what to get. They don't have all their drinks out yet. I was shocked to learn about the sizes of the drinks, a regular at Cool Tea Bar is like a large at most milk tea shops. I love the number 1. It's a must have. Overall, I would recommend this place because it has a nice atmosphere to it. At night, they play house musics and turn on the disco lights. A little twist from a common milk tea shops.

I have tried this place three times since it has opened and I have had different opinions about it each time I have visited. I drink milk tea everyday so I am very very picky when it comes to quality milk tea. 1st Visit: The Tea Bar Milk Tea was pretty good. 2nd Visit: Very rude cashier. They do not have Boba here but I am not complaining about that. My brother opted for their string-like boba option but the cashier turned him away from this by saying they only recommend red bean with matcha. Although that's not what he personally wanted, he got the red bean instead. My brother also wanted 50% sweetness but the cashier insisted he get 70%. She kept persuading until he finally agreed. 3rd Visit: It's the same "rude" cashier and she remembered me because I just came the day before. Although she was rude during my last visit, I came back so soon since my cousin wanted to try it. He wanted the matcha milk tea with 70% sweetness. The same cashier would not let this order pass. She said they recommend matcha with at least 100% sweetness but this time she gave the reason that matcha was difficult for people to get accustomed to. As the drinks came out, she came to check up on us at the table. She asked how the matcha tasted and although my cousin said it was good, she could tell he didn't really like it. She walked back to her station and came back volunteering to make him a new drink. In that case, we took it. So I guess her point to suggesting higher levels of sweetness to the matcha is because she knew it was a harder drink for people to like and I appreciate her excellent customer service skills. After this experience, I would say that I will be coming back for more :)

It was hard finding this place for the first time because they don't have a sign yet but when I first walked into this place, I was greeted by the friendly staff. This store offers samples of the drinks so you can try it before ordering. I don't know any other milk tea places that offer samples to the customers. The price for the drinks are amazing! The size of the cups are huge too! A small is like a large at other milk tea places. The drinks I recommend here is the #1, Mango Green Tea, and Peach Green Tea. All the other drinks are good as well. You can also adjust the sweetness of the tea as well. At night time they have disco lights on with music that makes you want to dance. Overall it was nice having a new milk tea place open in the Sacramento area. This will be my new go to place for drinks and to hang out with friends.

I was surprised when people said CTB doesn't sell boba. I don't really care for boba balls anyway. I got the roasted milk tea (No. 1). I really enjoyed it! I got the large size my first time there, and it will definitely last you the day. I usually get a regular now except when I decide to share with a friend. I really enjoy the grass jelly compared the other grass jelly I've tasted. The staff was very kind. They also offered samples of drinks and of their toppings. We were curious what the t noodles were. They taste like a less sugary boba ball. Even though this place doesn't have a big selection, it still has pretty good drinks. I would rate it as one of the best Sacramento boba joints. It's hard to really like any boba place up here since I am from the 626 area in SoCal (boba central), but this place gets a thumbs up for me :).

This place is good because their milk tea is not powdered like other and it actually brewed. Very yummy and good. Their large is actually a large and regular size is pretty big

In love with their No. 2 with egg pudding! They finally have a sign out in the front, which is great. My sister and I come here from time to time to do our work and it's relaxing, although the chairs are sort of uncomfortable. Nonetheless, it's a good place to relax and hang out or just do your work because they have wifi!

I think am in love with this place !!!! Yesterday, I had the hubby ordered me a drink from lollicup. I took a few sips and I had to toss it away because it tasted so powdery. I walked with my parents while they did a little shopping. I seen this place and decided to give it a try. The girl up front was really helpful and offer a sample! Of course I'll take that offer and it is delicious ! I ordered the #1 with grass jelly and egg pudding will definitely be coming back here again.

I was craving for some boba after having dinner in Sacramento, and I found it through nearby location and seen couple of my friends check-in to this place. So I decided to check it out myself. When you first get to the plaza, you will not be able to find the place easily. Why? Because this place doesn't have a exterior sign yet. This place is located between a jewelry store and hair accessory store. I literally drove around the whole plaza to make sure I didn't miss it, but I did. Aside from the missing sign, the interior is actually pretty well decorated. It has a very bright vibrant colored wall, and the lighting is not too dim to make you fall asleep. More importantly, they have automatic TOUCHLESS trash can. The place was pretty cracking when I came in around 10pm tonight, which was not what I expected. They have disco balls and everything, and some electric dance music playing in the background. It somewhat resemblance to a bar. I SEE YOU, Cool Tea Bar. I see you what you did there. Let's talk about their drinks. Let me warn you about their tea. They are pretty STRONG, in terms of caffeine. I am a pretty avid caffeinated drinker myself. I am surprised their drinks actually kept me up for awhile. I would say they are pretty good replacement of espresso drinks or any sort of caffeinated drinks. Another unique thing about this place is that you can choose the sweetness of the drinks to your liking. I ordered the tea bar milk tea and the matcha milk tea. They both taste pretty decent, pretty strong tea flavored as I mentioned. The tea bar milk tea is some kind of black tea as the employee explained to me. It has a hint of sweetness to it. Since they don't have BOBA as a add-on, so I got the t-noodles, which has a similar texture to boba. Let's just say I prefer my milk tea with BOBA. As for the matcha milk tea, it just taste like matcha powder + milk + tea. Nothing too impressive. It just doesn't feel right without boba in my milk tea. Overall, Cool Tea Bar is definitely a nice addition to the milk tea places in Sac Area. One side note, they give you free phone cases that has "Cool Tea Bar" on it after you buy a certain amount of drinks. Given that they are still pretty new to the game, I will definitely come back again to see their improvement.

I have never been a milk tea kind of person, but after trying their milk tea with noodles jelly, I can not get enough of it!! The place is very pleasant and the service is awesome. Workers are accommodating and will help you decide what's best for you. I love this place, I just hate that it's so far away. But worth it! Really good place.

Came here couple times. Had a hard time finding this place. First time it was really packed. Not enough tables for everyone. Kinda loud but it will do. Had a number 1. Surprising it was actually really good and the sizes are pretty awesome a regular at any other place is a large here. So well worth the price. And a large is an extra large here. Im not so into the grass jelly thing but the grass jelly here is so fresh! Its delicious! Othee than that they just need a sign in the front.

I've had my fair share of milk tea from all over the states and this one is definitely one of my favorites in sacramento. The consistency is really silky which is a plus and their milk tea is always consistent meaning that it's always going to be good and doesn't have it's off days. Definitely a cool spot for any age group and they place fun music at night!

  • Joanna Q.

The staff were very polite when we came in, and even insisted to offer samples. I got the #1, roasted milk tea with grass jelly, and I have to say it was quite delicious. It's slightly sweeter than my personal preference, but the grass jelly is on point, similar to one I usually get from my favorite milk tea place. The price is definitely fair, considering the larger than normal sizes. I'd definitely come back when I'm in the area and would recommend it to others. Finally a decent milk tea place!

My sister and boyfriend decided to get a late night snack and we've all wanted to check this place out! When we got there, they were kind of taken back by the rave-like atmosphere but i enjoyed it, its very different than ordinary boba joints. When we ordered we got a regular milk tea with the noodles as a topping, a green tea latte, and a roasted milk tea with grass jelly. The milk teas were pretty good! The roasted one was different from average milk teas, less sweet but still tasteful. The green tea latte, on the other hand, was not my favorite. It wasnt as matcha-y as id like and was a bit bland. BUT, when i brought this to the attention of the employees they were understanding and accepted my request for the green tea smoothie instead. Im pretty picky when it comes to green tea drinks...but i was really appreciative of the ladies who made me a new drink and handled the situation with care instead of irritation. So thanks you guys for being awesome! Definitely made my experience a great one! :)

First timer and I ordered the honey lemon aloe. And thanks to my coworker for treating me or other wise I wouldn't have came! They are open until midnight and I heard they bust out the disco lights and play loud music so If you are craving teas or smoothies late at night drop by! I wish they had some snacks on their menu, so don't come on an empty stomach. The person who took my order was really nice and helpful and also offered samples which is such a plus!! I'll be back soon enough!

I think I'm addicted!! :) Very fresh unlike powdery made drinks like most boba joints. The best part is that you get to test out the drinks with any level of sweetness. Downfall is that they don't have much toppings or actual "boba" only something called T-noodles; which I'm not a big fan of (choking hazard) in my opinion. I'll just opt for grass jelly. Service is alright, still a lot of newbies in training. Other than that the overall atmosphere is nice and will be worth my drive from Elk Grove! :) :)

Awesome drink, service, cute waitress. I like cool tea bars milk tea cuz it has this really strong scent of tea unlike other milk places that I been to most milk tea place's tea is full of sugar and made with powder which is disgusting and unhealthy. The grass jelly is the best part and it is the best grass jelly I ever tasted. They made their own grass jelly and the texture of the grass jelly is perfectly cooked. When u order topping u just have to order grass jelly. Btw at night time the whole place glows making u feel like a night club that's selling milk tea. They also have the las test music in varies language

This is a pretty awesome new place to have in sac! Not only do they open later, they have really good drinks. It definitely resembles "the bar" vibe when you enter. I have only gone at night and it definitely strikes up like a nightclub with the strobe lights and music. Now onto the more important stuff, the teas. They are really delicious and it's a great and different style compared to the typically boba drinks they have in the area. I definitely would enjoy this place better if they had black tea, but the drinks still taste great. The toppings are freshly made and the teas are on point, not being to sweet or bland. It appears pricy at first, but their regular size equates to a large when compared to other places, so it is of good value to your money. Also, this place is the perfect go to spot for late night drinks and I'm pretty sure it would be the new "cool bar (as the name suggests)" once word gets around of its existence! FYI: it is hard to find at first if you don't know the area, especially since they do not have a sign up yet, so be sure to look carefully for flashing lights late at night to find the place.

New to the Sacramento area coming from San Diego. Staying with family so I checked out this place with my cousins. They have a very spacious interior with about 8 tables, seating 4 people each. Very friendly staff and they let you try different flavors so you can make up your mind. I grabbed the Tea Bar milk tea (No. 2) and it was awesome. Only downside is no boba served here but they have your other toppings such as grass jelly, red bean and aloe Vera. The thing that stood out to me most here was the portion size and the customer service. A regular is your typical regular that you'd expect, but once you upgrade to a large it is HUGE! I think you could feed 2-3 people with the large...or you're just a really thirsty person ;). One of the most friendly places I've been to, and will def be coming back to try the other flavors! My name is Alan and I approve this message. XD

Wait time too long! They need a system like Starbucks or Jamba Juice to get things moving.

So far this place has been opened up for a little less than a month but the drinks here are good! I usually order the number 1 with extra sugar because I like the sweetness. On other days I would get milk tea with red bean but the mango green tea is also very refreshing. Aside of the drinks the workers here provides friendly service.

Love this place. The workers is friendly and good looking the drinks especially #1 Roasted Milk Tea is awesome best milk tea in Sacramento by far for me. Definitely be back.

Never come back, experiences keep getting worst everytime I came. Took f**king 40 mins to get my 2 simple drinks with only 2 orders ahead of me ( each order only has 1 or 2 drinks). Im not even exagerating here. Employees had no intend to make drinks fast for the waiting customers, they were chilling and having fun with each other instead of focusing on pushing the drinks out asap. I wish yelp had a negative rating star so I would give them....

Another drink place? In Stockton area? First thought? Why? There are already quicklys, lollicup, and tapioca!!! Hmmm.. I came here on a hot day with a friend of mine and ordered what i would order at other drink places. Passion fruit tea but with lychee this time instead of boba because they did not have boba. I ordered a small size and it came out to be what i thought was large. My friend ordered a large and holy cow! It was really big! I took a sip and it was omg! So good! Especially on a hot day! Their tea was perfect! I got it with 100% sugar. It was just perfect for me. I like how they asked what percent do we want our sugars. I'm not a big fan of lychee but i really liked theirs. Everything looked good inside. Cute deco, all they need are some couches and a bar maybe. I also like how they have games. Its different! Service was great!! Overall 5 stars

Prices are very reasonable. $4.00 for a regular (24 oz) and $4.50 for 32 oz. Have tried the roasted milk tea with grass jelly and mango snow. Both are very good. Best thing about this place is that they let you select the level of sweetness.sugar. Definitely can't wait to go back.

This place is awesome! I love the #1 and the #3 with Grass Jelly! Their flavored tea's are really good too ( I recommend the Kumquat, mango, or lychee). I've been going here for about a month now, about twice a week and every drink I order is always really good, done fast, and efficiently. The only time it ever takes longer is when like 10 people come in at once, and thats' understandable as there is usually only two people working (one at register and one making drinks). They have great customer service and their workers are all really friendly and helpful about their menu. All in all, their drinks are both consistent and delicious, and they let you adjust the sugar amount as well :D Five stars, and I will come back when i get paid this friday!

Drinks are okay. The taro taste really chunky. I don't like it. Royal milk tea just taste like milk. Jasmine milk tea is good tho. Place isn't visually appealing. Lights are a little too much. Music is just rave music. I don't think I'd come back tho. Plus my friend's drink wasn't sealed correctly and spilled

  • Heather T.

Love this place. I tried majority of the drinks and I must say they're all pretty good. Go for the #1 if it's your first time there. Ask for a sample too if you want to try something!

Best boba place in sac, you can choose your sweetness, they have a huge variety of drinks, workers are nice and always let you sample, boba is chewy, drinks are huge.

  • Emily V.

This place is quite nice! I loved the environment when I walked in although they do not have a store logo up yet so it was a bit challenging to find. Their prices are great especially for the sizes of the cup, the regular is like a large to me so their large cup is huge! The few times I've been here I've gotten the roasted milk tea which caught me by surprise. I honestly did not think it would actually taste roasted but I think they could cut down their grass jelly a bit. It's quite difficult to sip throw the straw but other than that I loved the decorations and such!

    (4)
  • Bonny L.

I got a large roasted milk tea with grass jelly and it was delicious. The tea had a nice toasty taste and the grass jelly had a hint of sweetness and bitterness which complemented the tea very well. I must warn you the large is very large! It's bigger than your average large cup!

    (5)
  • Vivian L.

I got #1 on the most popular list. It was good and authentic tasting. The grass jelly is homemade i believe and very smooth and tasty. I thought #2 was better than #1 though. Oversll, decent boba store but wouldnt go out of my way to get it

  • Sam T.

I ordered the passion fruit green tea, pretty decent. I have also had their roasted milk tea with grass jelly really good!!! The inly set back, no boba!! But its really good so give it a try!

This place is amazing. A place for true tea lovers. I'll definitely be going back for their passion fruit tea. Guess this place will Be the new kick it spot.

  • Frank L.

It's decent boba! I tried the SF one and the one in Sac. Both are comparable. I like how they give you a lot because their "regular" is actually a large in many other boba shops. Their large is probably just a gigantic pitcher of milk tea. You'd probably want to share that one. Overall, I like the drinks. Not too sure about the ambiance, though. I don't think I'd want to stay for very long with my friends there. Otherwise, if the boba is to-go, gooooo for it.

  • J L.

I've been here a few times now. So i think it's time for a review. Lol. I always get the #1 and the mango green tea with aloe. It's good but a "wow" thing. I also like how you can control the sweetness and that's a plus. Here's my main concern: Every time I come I always notice a gallon of milk sitting in the corner where the grass jelly are. I mean isn't milk should be kept in the fridge?? I don't know how long it's been sitting there. I just hope no one get sick or anything. Anyways it's a cool spot if your in the area

my first time coming here was about 2-3 weeks after this place first opened up and omg! I was blown away. The cost was average but when I got my order, I was surprised with how big the portion was! very well worth your money. I immediately thought yupp my new fave tea place cause i LOVE tea and this place had all the flavors on point! I also loved that i could choose my sugar level because I have a fave tea place in the bay that lets me choose my sugar but for some reason I never found a place in sac that did it until i came here. I was disappointed at first when I heard they didn't serve boba here because that's the only thing I like in my drinks but the girl at the register recommended T-noodles so I said what the heck, ill give it a try. I ended up loving the t-noodles and after that I started returning every couple of tuedays and sometimes fridays cause those were my days off. My first 4 times, my drink kept coming out amazing but for some reason the past 2-3 times it started not tasting as good as it used to be :( the flavor started to taste really bland and tasteless and also the t-noodles started to taste really OLD. It's supposed to be smooth and have a nice chewy texture to it but lately its been somewhat hard and stale tasting so i had to just throw half the cup away :( I thought the first time this happened, it was just a bad day or something but since it's been continuing to happen idk, i think i'll have to search for a new tea place since There's been a lot opening up lately. Maybe i'll try coming here again later down the road but for now i'll keep searching elsewhere

Decent tea. Horrible atmosphere. Currently sitting in a room with "Gangnam Style" blasting on the speakers and unnecessary strobe lights. Also no boba, so take that into consideration before making your decision to come here.

  • Bruce G.

Their milk teas are pretty good, despite the fact they use creamer instead of milk or half and half. Unfortunately they lose points for convenience, seeing how they're located so far away from suburbia. And the whole rave lights are pretty... Corny. And the joint still smells like fresh paint.

I was a lil disappointed after reading review and trying it myself. I loved boba tea and gifts in old Elk Grove but they closed down and was hoping I can find a milk tea that tasted fresh and not powdery like others,, Grass jelly Roasted milk tea: was ok. Nothing to rave about Milk tea w the stringy tapioca thing: tasted not much different for the roasted milk tea. Just ok. Doesn't taste fresh brewed. The tapioca strings was different. I prefer boba Prolly won't be back unless I was at tk noodles or sf market already. Best part is u get to choose your sweetness level. I got the 100% which is normal. Not too sweet. I like mine a tad bit sweeter so I'll try the 120% next time.

  • Thai N.

The led lights are really tacky. Drink prices are reasonable and the large size is actually really big. I got the number 4 and it literally tastes like 7up with mango syrup. Nothing special. Plus it's super loud so order loudly.

  • Jetty E.

I don't know what they hype is all about. I tried their Taro milk tea. I don't know want dirty bath water tastes like but I'm going to say it's probably better than the drink I ordered. I also was not a fan of the clear noodles. Blah. Yuck.

My favorite spot for a milk tea! This place is decent compared to the others in Sacramento. I usually order the jasmine milk tea, which has a very nice light flavor. For something a little heavier, my boyfriend likes the roasted milk tea. I have also tried their mango green tea. Its pretty good as well. I like it because I love sweet, but it may be too sweet for some people. You can adjust your sweetness level for the drinks, so thats helpful. They also offer sample tasting of the drinks on the side :).

Today was my first visit, and they let me try a lot of tea flavors. Customer service is really friendly. Tea was great:)

  • Karolyn H.

One of the best drink places in Sac! The drinks are unique so competition in the area isn't too bad. I mainly go here for the roasted milk tea with t noodles. If you're not feeling milk tea, the mango green tea is a great alternative

    (4)
  • Wendy W.

Their small size is the size of a typical boba place's large and their large is even bigger than I have ever seen! The only bad thing is they do not serve boba pearls as a topping. Otherwise, a very nice place and quick service!

    (5)
  • Tonee C.

The milk tea tasted blah. Not really sure what the hype was about. The price is decent and you do get a lot for the money but I'm welling to pay a little more elsewhere to get better tasting milk tea. Not worth my money, but you should at least try it once to form your own opinion.

employee was very nice, she gave me a sample of the roasted milk tea and mango green tea? the milk tea isn't my taste, however I asked for the sample of the jasmine gmt, and she basically made a whole order just for me to sample, which was very kind. because that's like waste product . I got the large Jmt with grass jelly. only 4.50 :o

  • Julie N.

My son and I love their milk teas with grass jelly....it's amazing... We have tried the Roasted Milk Tea /grass jelly, Jasmine Milk Tea /grass jelly and Oolong Milk Tea /grass jelly... They all taste great!! Our fav is the Oolong milk Tea though, slightly sweeter than the other..and they also give you the option to customize you sweetness level, a plus!!! Their grass jelly is amazing, super fresh!! Highly recommend!!!

  • Kimmy N.

I've had cool tea bar a few times and I think they have the best milk tea in my opinion. I always get number 2, tea bar milk tea which is pretty sweet but I love sweet in general. Toppings are. 50 which isn't bad, just like any other typical tea place. I like to add egg pudding and grass jelly (since they don't have boba which is a bummer). A regular is $3.50 and a large is only .50 more so mine as well! The large is as big as your head! And I have a pretty big head lol :p Service is real nice. The first time I came in here, the workers knew I was pretty lost so they offered me to try a sample of the tea bar and jasmine (since I asked for something sweet) and both were real good. I might start trying the jasmine next time. Everything is freshly brewed so none of that powder stuff like lollicup. Only thing I would hope for is boba or mini boba sometime in the future.

  • Lina T.

If you're gonna come here & you like milk tea, get the oolong milk tea... so good!!! the first couple times I came here, their honey boba was pretty on point but the last couple visits I've had, their honey boba have been tasting a little bland. I don't know if they changed their recipe? but they should definitely switch it back! Good little boba spot in south sac!

  • Steven V.

Come here for grass jelly milk tea! The grass jelly is homemade, perfectly-textured and delicious, pairing perfectly with their roasted milk tea. Best of all- the large is basically half of a gallon and a really good deal. You can customize sweetness and there are other toppings and a huge list of tea flavors. They have a pretty extensive menu, but I haven't heard great things about their fruit flavored tea or other toppings. Although seeming to be geared towards high schoolers and the hip Sac crowd, the tea and grass jelly is worth a stop especially if you're looking for a drink that will last a while.

I hope I'm not the only one giving this place 3 stars lol. Anyways, I've always wanted to try the Cool Tea Bar in San Francisco, but I never got the chance to since I live far away from it. But this location is actually close by my place in Elk Grove! Pros: - Their menu isn't too packed, but it isn't too plain either. - Drinks are customizable in terms of sweetness level and toppings. - They always provide a list of popular/recommendes drinks. - Accepts cash and card. - Sizes are acceptable for the cost of drinks. Cons: - The overbearingly loud music makes it hard for the workers to hear your order. - No sign outside the place, so it's hard to find. - Apparently there isn't boba here... although I dont see that as a bad thing considering I dont care much for boba balls. - A tad bit slow on service, even when the place isnt overly crowded. I ordered a Mango Tonic, and that was a big mistake for me. It's basically carbonated water with mango flavoring. Their taro milk tea (which was surprisingly the most expensive drink we ordered) is made with actual taro, not powdered taro, so be warned. My cousins had their Jasmine milk tea and the Tea bar milk tea and said they were decent. I'll probably stick to trying the milk tea and update my review, but until then this place gets a solid 3 stars from me.

This place is so deserted!! I have never heard of this place until my friend brought me here. It is located right next to SF supermarket. Plenty of parking and seating inside. I love their variety of topping choices! They have different types of boba(aka tea balls), egg pudding, grass jelly, and fruit jelly. You get to choose the percentage of your sweetness level and I personally like to do 70% sweet because I know their toppings are already drenched in sugar. The worker at the time was super nice and let us try their toppings and any of their drinks that were on the menu. There were so many choices to choose from that we ended up being there for an hour. In the end, I chose the #1 roasted milk tea with egg pudding. It was absolutely delicious. It didn't taste like the regular milk tea at all. And the egg pudding was just the right amount of texture and sweetness to the drink. I would definitely come again.

Best boba in the Sac area, hands down. I will drive the 20 minutes here, despite having a TapEx and Vampire Penguin (in DT, they sell milk tea) 10 minutes away. I love this Cool Tea Bar just as much as the ones in SF. The tea is always brewed nice and strong, and you can dictate the level of sweetness in your drink (I either get 50% or 70%, depending on if it's a hot drink or cold drink). Service is always friendly and doesn't take too long. My favorite drinks here are the jasmine, roasted oolong, and matcha milk teas. Honey lemon is pretty good too, if you're looking for something fruity (it tastes like lemonade!). And the price is right too! It's around $3.50 for a regular, and $0.50 more for a large upgrade. To be honest, the regular is more like a large at other places; the large is like...well let's just say, you're going to be making a lot of trips to the bathroom. One strange quirk of this location is that they do not sell "boba." Instead, they have "tea balls" and "cool balls." Since I don't really get balls in my drink, I can't say how they are, quality-wise. In actuality, these balls are indeed boba/tapioca, but due to some strange licensing thing Cool Tear Bar can't actually call them that.

I would come again for the huge sized drinks but I wouldn't order the boba. It doesn't taste like anything. Very nice workers though

This isn't your regular everyday bubble tea joint. It's a pretty limited menu, sticking to the classic and they do it the best way possible. Classic Mille tea, black teas, green teas, roasted milk tea, a few fruit tea drinks. That's all you need. What makes this place unique is they don't serve the regular black bobas. They what was is call tea balls, which is like bobas, but white and have a slightly firmer texture, more chew almost. Also they do, or did have jelly noodles as a topping. If you're looking for high quality and quantity bubble tea CoolTea is the spot to me. The first half dozen times I was getting the roasted milk tea with grass jelly, cool tea balls, and jelly noodles. But lately been feeling the mango 101. Both are to die for, depending on what mood I'm in, creamy or fruity. But with any drink here, you can't go wrong.

This place reminds me of Chatime in Oakland Chinatown! I heard that they opened a CTB in Sacramento recently and decided to give it a try since I was close by, I ordered a large Roasted Milk Tea with Lychee Jelly since they ran out of pearls (regular sweetness). I was bummed but lychee jelly was better than nothing. Their cups are HUGE compared to Chatime - their regular size is a large at Chatime and the prices are the exact same. I wished other shops would increase their portions as well, and their RMT tastes very similar to Chatime which is a plus because I've been trying to find a good milk tea shop in Sacramento ever since I moved out of the Bay Area. I do suggest adding more options and food as well, I will definitely come back next time I'm in the area.

My go to boba spot in little Saigon! I definitely stop by after eats at TK noodle. I highly recommend one of their best sellers, jasmine milk tea. Tea balls and egg pudding are super yummy. I just wish the egg pudding was cut up a little more. I always end up with a chunk of it at the end with no milk tea. Of course I still devour it but I'd like to enjoy everything at a good ratio! Don't recommend their blended drinks as much. Super icy and not well blended. But it's different for everyone. You might get luckier than me!

  • Jonathan C.

Came here after lunch to grab my milk tea fix. The place looks very clean and the drinks were on point. I really liked the oolong milk tea. They offer levels of sweetness for those who don't like their drinks too sweet. I got 70% which I think is perfect. Their regular size is the size of a large at quickly's or slightly bigger. 50 cents to upgrade to a large is definitely worth it.

    (5)

I enjoyed it. Great boba. I had grass gelly. A little on the sweet side. Spacious space, decent service.

  • Helen H.

I wouldn't say I'm a milk tea connoisseur, but this place satisfies. The only thing I didn't care much for was the décor- bright pink walls and yellow ceiling. I love the fact that they have a menu listing their best selling drinks, which made it much easier to narrow down my choice. I chose the #1 best seller- grass jelly roasted milk tea. I also like the fact that you choose your level of sweetness. I thought about whether to get regular or large, because there's only a 50 cent price difference. I figured I wouldn't be able to finish a large, so I went with the regular size. When my drink came out, I thought they gave me the wrong size, but a regular is quite big. I'd like to try one of their matcha drinks next time. If you have milk tea cravings late at night, they are open until midnight!

For a place with no sign, Cool Tea Bar gets a lot of business! I came back again and decided to try the t noodles since I read reviews and saw it was supposed to be their replacement for boba. It wasn't bad in my opinion! The chewy texture was good, but there wasn't any flavor to it. I tried the jasmine milk tea this time and enjoyed it. One of my usual go-to drinks at milk tea shops and Cool Tea Bar made it well. My sister got the honey lemon aloe, which I thought tasted good too. However, the drink is pretty clear so don't know if it's just juice and honey or what. My friend got the honey pomelo juice and said it got kind of bitter. One of the workers said toppings aren't recommended with that drink.

The wait for a half-decent milk tea place has tested even my incredible, endless patience. But finally a promising new star burst onto the scene! I tried their roasted milk tea with grass jelly, and found it quite good. I didn't really notice flavors that would suggest anything had been "roasted" in it but oh well, that shall simply remain as one of life's mysteries. The grass jelly was a nice texture contrast, and I didn't miss boba pearl things at all. I was bad at rationing the grass jelly ratio and ended up with mostly jelly at the end. Maybe I'll get better at it with practice - and I sure intend to be back to practice with Cool Tea Bar. Details: -You can adjust sweetness quite precisely, with like 6 levels to choose from. Much to my surprise, their normal (100%) sweetness is actually just right, unlike most places that are way too saccharine. So feel safe going with normal sugar the first time! -Their two size choices are regular or large, both of which are enormous -Decent number of tables/seats

Ever since I moved to the Bay Area I have a new perception of what fruit and milk teas should taste like. Coming back to Sacramento, my standards are quite high and Cool Tea Bar definitely fits my expectations. My go-to flavor is the mango green tea with lychee. Also a good tip is to ask for less sugar, you get more of the tea taste without feeling so bad about your sugar intake. I love their prices and I love their drinks. Definitely one of my favorite tea places in Sac!

  • Alyssa W.

Yes yes yes. Best boba I've had while being here at UCD. Pros: Cute little boba shop! The workers are really nice. This is the only place I've ever been to that lets you sample the drinks before you decide to order. The milk tea has a real authentic tea flavor! I've tried the Tea Bar Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Tea, and Roasted Milk Tea and they're all great! I've gotten the pudding a few times and idk what it is about it but it's kinda hard to drink with the drink and always clumps up at the bottom and is left at the end. But the boba (they call it "t-balls") is really good! Cons: None! Overall: Every drink I've tried here has been really good. I definitely would recommend!! :)

There are a few times in life when a drink is perfectly crafted to my liking. I'm not finicky to begin with, especially when it comes to milk teas, but this visit proved that I just might need to be exactly that. The drink I tried will be the new basis of comparison for future milk tea drinks from here on out. A friend (thanks Trang!) recommended to try this place, particularly their Roasted Milk Tea w/ Grass Jelly. What I thought about it? Perfection. The blend, the sweetness, the grass jelly, the look, the cool, the swag, the "yea that's right I'm a great-tasting milk tea" attitude. Normally, I'd savor every sip. It was apparent that that wasn't going to happen in this case. I chugged that drink down like it was my first after a trip from the Sahara desert. So refreshing and flavorful, but not too sweet. Hopefully in the very near future they'd start offering little snacks like other milk tea spots. Other than that this place is a must-go for all you milk tea lovers ~

A new Taiwanese milk tea joint amongst many other Asian drink competitors already in the Stockton Blvd area. So what makes this place different than the others? 1) It's not actually a "boba" place...because they don't have boba! You can get your grass jelly fix here instead. 2) The price of the drinks is a little higher (~$3.50-4.00 for a regular) BUT this is because the size of their cups is much larger than other places. The regular is the size of a large at Lollicup and the large is HUMONGOUS. Like, seriously crazy-big. I would totally get it one day just to look like a milk tea goddess. 3) The service! NEVER before have I gone to a milk tea place and been offered samples. This was super helpful since I wasn't sure what to get, and I was able to sample several of their most popular drinks, such as the roasted milk tea and the mango green tea (which I ended up ordering!). Drinks were also put out quickly. 4) You can choose your sweetness level (reminiscent of Gong Cha). This might be something you need to experiment with. I ordered the mango green tea with regular sweetness and would gladly get it again, but may want to lower the sweetness next time since it's a sweet drink already. On the other hand, you might want to increase the sweetness of the roasted milk tea due to it's smoky flavor? It's up to you! Customize away! 5) The atmosphere is just cute in general. Pink walls, pop music playing in the background, tons of colored straws to choose from. Still waiting on a sign outside, though! Overall, a great first impression. Drinks were yummy and refreshing. Would definitely come back!

Pros: -closes at midnight -can choose sugar level Cons: -NO BOBA!! -watered down tea -too much creamer -NO BOBA! Me: May I please add boba to that? Employee: (looks at me weird) No boba. Me: At all...like you ran out? Employee: No boba False advertisement and watered down tea. Not returning.

My first experience here kept me coming back for more! The employees are nice and patient when we wanted to taste test many items. The noodles topping was a little weird. And the only downside is that they don't have boba but their drinks are good even without it. My favorite is the roasted grass jelly MT! It's a perfect blend of tea and milk. So tasty! And their sizes are a boba lovers fantasy. They are much larger than the usual cups and only for $0.50 more. Totally worth it!

I've been to cool tea bar in San Francisco and I love it there. It is tasty drinks in large sizes. This is their new location in Sacramento. Right now it is not something that will blow you away, but it is not bad. I will probably be coming back to try the other things. My favorite is the roasted milk tea ( from the sf location, have not Tried it here yet) The exterior is kinda hard to spot right now, with no exterior sign. It is in the plaza with sf market next to ws hair and lees jewelry, you will see the drink stickers in the window. Currently they do not have boba. I'm not sure when they will start serving it, but the sf location has boba so I assume they will serve it here eventually. It is kind of a busy environment inside, lots of people coming in and out. The seating are all high bar stools and high tables. Very pink interior. Also the music varies from calming Asian ballets to loud pop. I got the mango 101 mix, because I had no idea what it was and wanted to try it. I asked the staff and that just made me more confused, he explained it very fast and with bits of missing information. I decided to try it anyways, and luckily it was pretty good. It is pretty much a mango juice base drink with a ton of add-ons. It tasted good, and the textures and tastes of the addons were good too. However, I thought the regular sweetness was a bit too sweet for me, next time I will be trying it with less sugar. My favorite drink is the roasted milk tea, the tea flavor is really good and it hold strong enough even with sugar and creamer. I have not tried it in this location yet though. Overall, this place is good, I think it has potential. It is relatively new so I think it will get better. Try it out! Cheers

This is my girlfriends favorite tea spot here in Sacramento! The guy who took our order is very friendly and very knowledgable about the whole menu. We ended up getting a regular milk tea with boba and I guess it automatically also comes with grass jelly! Which is a plus ! We ordered their large size and believe me, it'll satisfy your boba cravings because their large cups are huge!! Will definitely come back!

Very yummy! I was in San Jose and they have these white bobas and I have been dying to find a place in Sacramento that sold it. I am not a fan of the chewy black bobas and these new boba balls are made with seaweed agar and it is oh so yummy! I love their lychee green tea with the white boba balls!

Great service and good drinks!!! They have different levels of sugar for you to choose from which I find really cool. A regular is huge and I couldn't even finish mine (well it was my after dinner treat anyway lol). I got number 1 which is the milk tea with grass jelly, 30% sugar, perfect amount of sweetness for my taste. Will be back for sure!

I'm really picky and very particular but this surpassed my expectation.. I ordered the mango green tea with half sugar and it's still super sweet and so good! I'm really impressed.. Place is cute and clean Had FREE wifi on your receipt. I tried the roasted milk tea with grass jelly and tea noodles with half sugar.. It wasn't that sweet but I like the grass jelly and tea noodle.. The drinks are refreshing. They don't serve anything else though.. As in fried foods or appetizers.. Plays loud club music type thing .. House music .. Customer service was excellent! So sweet the worker asked me to try it and if I didn't like it he will replace it with another.. Good experience! Try it out! No boba though.. So be warned :)

I walked into the store and was greeted by a clean and colorful interior. Tables line both walls leaving plenty of space inbetween for people to line up and order their drinks. Chinese music played over the speakers making for a very asian feeling environment. My girlfriend and I approached the front counter, apprehensive, not knowing what to order. The man at that counter was like, yo, if you don't know what you want, I can give you some samples. At least I assume that's what he said because I was in the bathroom but when I came out there was a small sample cup waiting for me. The prices seem decent, especially given the size. The regular seems to be the same size as a large at lollicup or similar places while the large is, like, really big. I wanted to get the large since it was only 50 cents extra but I knew that my bladder would never be able to contain such a massive beverage as we were soon going to be watching edge of tomorrow. Not that it ultimately mattered since I still ended up going to the bathroom during the movie. I'm kind of disappointed at the lack of boba. I realize it's not a boba place but having had so much milk tea with boba it kind of seems odd to not have boba. The grass jelly imho doesn't add much to the drink. Maybe some texture but not nearly as good as boba and it doesn't seem to add at all to the flavour. Drinks were decent for the most part but seem to rely on flavour syrups as opposed to, idk, fruit or something. I guess that's kind of the norm but not nearly as fresh and stuff. Idk. it's decent but I wouldn't really crave it so it only gets 4 stars. Oh, and why doesn't it have a sign? I realize it just opened, but sometime during the renovation process someone must have thought, hey, maybe we should have a sign outside so people know what this place is. Apparently that didn't happen (or they rushed the opening) cause there's no sign. I'm sure that'll change soon though.

Number 1 on the menu - roasted milk tea with grass jelly and egg pudding with 25% sugar is amazing here. I usually don't order milk tea, but CTB makes it really good. Their passion fruit tea is really good here too, it doesn't taste too syrup-y and more tea based. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. Overall, I'd recommend roasted milk tea with grass jelly and egg pudding LARGE.

Cool Tea is a pretty cool boba joint, good, but not exceptional and there are not a lot of options to chose from like Tapioca Express. But, they deserve 4 stars for opening till 12AM, perfect for us night crawlers. Also, for a new boba joint their milk teas were on point. Although, I prefer Tea Culture, this place is less crowded by teenagers at night and the service is definitely more superb. They're all smiles, unlike the -__- face you receive at other places. Also it's spacious, good for big groups to sit and chillax sometimes. It's the only boba joint here with a disco ball, playing loud music. So for teenagers too young for the clubs or bars, this is the closest thing they will get. However, it is quite difficult to find, if you haven't yelp this place ahead of time because their sign is not placed up yet. It is in the same plaza as TK noodle, next to Hair accessories. My friends and I got the Grass jelly roasted milk tea and matcha smoothie. Their regular is the size of a large at regular boba places. So, I suggest to just get a regular and not get greedy. 100% was the perfect sweetness anything below it will be too bland. Grass Jelly Roasted Milk Tea 100% sweetness: It was okay, I didn't notice anything spectacular, however it's pretty good for a new business. The baristas making it knows whats up. But, there was too much grass jelly in there for my taste, I'll just ask for less next time. Matcha Smoothie: It was really good! The only con is that you have to wait for it to melt, so it takes quite a while to finish the drink. I would recommend this place, just so you can try more variety of boba around the area. Next time I'm going to try the mango ice tea :).

Because they don't have a front sign yet, I totally drove pass this shop and made a full circle. I failed to see the tea drink decor on the glass... with so many boba options around I was curious as to why this place opened up right in the middle of its competitors. I decided to go big and order a large No.1 the grass jelly roasted milk tea. I'm not a huge fan of overly sweet drinks (or any desserts) so when I saw the option to control the sweetness level, I was very happy. The interior design is very plain at the moment but the bright colors are inviting. I love the led light lining the counter table and pop music playing in the background. As far as the crowd here, it looks like a good hangout spot for friends that just want to chat or play some card games. I was hoping to find some snack selections, but it's just all drinks folks. My milk tea was quite delish. I can tell they took time into making it taste fresh while using natural ingredients. I love how the huge grass jelly chunk in my drink gets broken as they shoot up through the straw. With each sip, I enjoy a small jelly too :). Did I mention it's a great hangout place already?? With late hours til midnight, it's an easy place to pick when looking for somewhere to hang while sipping a refreshing drink. *Slurps away*

My favorite Sacramento asian (milk) tea! Must try: Roasted Milk Tea - tastes similar to genmaicha. The #1 roasted milk tea with grass jelly is my favorite! Refreshing, perfect tea taste ($4 for a regular and $4.50 for a large). It's hard to find a good roasted milk tea around town. So if you're a fan of the genmaicha style roasted tea definitely stop in. Details: Their regular sized drinks are quite large and they also take credit cards. I really like how there is the ability to customize the sweetness of your drink. The levels at 0%, 30%, 50%, 70%. The amount of sweetness kind of varies by the drink. For instance the milk teas at 70% aren't too sweet, but the fruity teas taste much more sweet at 70%. You can also get your drinks without ice, they fill it to close to the top too! The business is located in a somewhat sketchy part of town, I'd be more cautious if I'm around there at night. There's adequate parking usually because the shop is farther from the supermarket. They play music after 10pm and it turns into a "club" feel. Definitely my go to tea.

I have to say, I love the roasted milk tea with grass jelly. Its delicious and my go to drink every time I go. However, today I experienced something that has turned me away from going there again. The cashier that helped me was great, friendly and very accommodating. I gave an extra tip and waited happily for my drink. Now, the girl making the drinks made a drink incorrectly for the person before me and decided to put the drink in the trash which is fine. She pushed the drink into the trash, pushed some paper towels over it and pushed it down. Okay, fine. What she did next appalled me. She went straight to make my four drinks after that...WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS. I went up and asked them to remake my drinks, she rudely asked which one? Like honestly if a customer just caught you not washing your hands and then going to prep food then you should remake all the drinks. Anyway I told her all four. She turned around and angrily dumped everything away and didn't apologize. Last time I will ever go back here unfortunately.

I've been looking for a decent boba place in the Sacramento area and I was excited to see that Cool Tea Bar opened up a location here recently! I'm a fan of their location in SF. The only problem with this location - there's no boba! D: I'm not sure if they're planning to have some in the future but I really hope they do. I ended up getting the mango green tea with aloe. It's very delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day, and I like a bit of tea aftertaste in my drinks just so I know that it's not all artificial flavoring. This shop is still new so I'm assuming they're still training their workers and fixing up their menu. Their toppings selection is a bit sparse and the service is slow compared to the one in SF, but I will give them the benefit of the doubt and come back here to try it again in the future once they have more experience. Hopefully my rating for it will be higher then. Also, I'm glad to hear that they're opening up a spot in San Jose! Will definitely check that place out whenever I'm back home :)

While I admit that this is one of the better milk tea places in Sacramento, I feel that it is overrated. Sacramento doesn't have many options for milk tea, and seeing that Cool Tea Bar is a great improvement from Tapioca Express, Quickly, and the rest of the milk tea spots, it does deserve some credit. However, if you compare the tea to that of the Bay Area or LA, it doesn't match up. I went a few times during a visit to Sacramento, and I found the drinks to be watered down and the flavors to be just a bit off. I also find the prices to be a bit high for pearl tea, but once again I attribute that to there being few pearl tea options in the area, so this place is able to capitalize on the milk tea cravings of the people. On the positive side, they are very quick to bring out your order, and the staff here is one of the nicest I've come across. It's also rather roomy in there, so it's a great place to hang out. I do like that you can adjust the sweetness level of your drinks as well, but I found it to be a bit inconsistent depending on what drink you get. The take-home: Overall meh milk tea, but one of the better ones in Sac.

Ever since the first day I tried this milk tea spot, I have fallen in love with it! My guilty pleasure! My favorite drink to order here is the Tea Bar milk tea. I love that they brew the tea themselves instead of using powder like other spots. The tea bar milk tea which is the original (black) milk tea has a different taste to it than other typical half and half milk teas. You can taste the tea and I love that there's a balance between the tea and milky sweet taste. I have also tried the roasted milk tea which is made from roasted green tea and has a stronger taste than the tea bar milk tea. It's also delicious but I prefer the tea bar milk tea. This place has a variety of toppings but no boba. I'm not really a fan of boba so I'm fine with that. Also, no snacks, just drinks. So far, favorite milk tea place hands down. This place does grass jelly justice (my fave!).

Teas mostly. The review is based on quality of the quantity received. It's left of the market. I hade the jasmine tea. Kind of tasted like ten ren. 1-star: I've had hemorrhoids more pleasant than this. 2-star: I would rather avoid this place. 3-star: On par with other similar establishments. 4-star: Will return as often as possible. 5-star: I refuse to find a better place.

My husband and I are from out of town and wanted to find a good bubble tea place. Reading the positive reviews brought us here. The staff were friendly and helpful. The place is clean, spacious, and bright. My husband got the matcha smoothie and I got the matcha milk tea. Basically the same thing. You can taste the matcha flavor vs at some other places. We both enjoy the drinks. They do customize to your sweetness level. We both aren't fond of sweet drinks. We went with regular sweetness bc we don't know how sweet is regular sweet but it was good. Overall, it was a good place to try.

Updated 1/19/15 - super late but they have tapioca balls now. They're called T-balls. I came into Cool Tea Bar with my brother one night because he was raving about how good their milk tea was. I'm a huge fan of milk tea, but I was skeptical about coming here because they didn't actually have boba and I love boba. I ordered the jasmine milk tea with egg pudding and OMG I loved it! The jasmine flavor of the milk tea was there but not overwhelming and combined with the egg pudding, it had a really nice, creamy flavor to it. I ordered my boyfriend the Taiwanese mango tonic and it was equally as good. It was like drinking a mango soda. Both drinks were $4 but I got a large and my boyfriend's drink was a regular size. With the egg pudding added into my drink, my drink itself was $4.50 but the drink was HUGE. As some other review said, a large is 30 ounces. That's a great value because at other places, you pay about the same amount, but a large somewhere else is way smaller than the large here. The cashier was very helpful but she didn't ask me what level of sweetness I wanted to if you don't have your drink too sweet, make sure you let them know. Fortunately my drink wasn't overbearingly sweet so I was fine with whatever percentage is standard. Please don't come here expecting tapioca balls. They don't have them.

Decent drinks, decent prices. I do like that they provide a small list of customer favorites. I usually order off of it and it's never failed me. The drinks are hit or miss, sometimes made well and sometimes, not so much. The service is what's to be expected of a small high-schooler run business.

Sorry guys dropping stars because of: A) wait time...it took 20 minutes to order 1 drink. Why do I have to wait for 6 people dancing around having a milk tea sampling party? It took the cashier 10 minutes to make TWO different teas for tasting. Then she got 2 orders wrong, and held up the line even more by letting each person sample their drink...again. I'm all for customer service and letting people try the teas, but maybe move it to the side or help the people who know what they want first? B) need to separate where you pour the tea and where you wash the shaker. I know it's just water but the idea of cups lined up in the sink, tea splashed everywhere, then water from you washing the shaker splashing in the drink was just an unpleasant sight.

Cool Tea Bar is definitely one of my go to spots for tea. I really like their roasted milk tea and their passion fruit green tea. The workers here are very nice. They offer samples to any drinks you want to try. They also provide Jenga, Checkers, Chess, and cards for your entertainment.

3.5 stars for good roasted milk tea with grass jelly. A few notes: -delicious grass jelly -the regular size (~24 oz I believe) is a large at other boba stops, hence the higher prices -sweetness can be adjusted at several levels -no actual boba or fresh fruit drinks available -no food

My cousin bought me a drink from this place before and I must say, it was pretty good. I haven't physically come to this location but after dinner at Crab City, my sister wanted to grab a drink before heading home. So we came here and it was packed with a crowd with a long line. I ordered a regular size Mango Green Tea with Grass Jelly in it. I asked for 50% less sugar since I don't like it too sweet, and it was pretty good. I liked the way how it was customized to my taste so it was good. I've never been a big fan of teas that makes my mouth dry but it's actually pretty good. Majority of the people who come in this place are mostly young teens. It's a good place for good quick fixture for teas rather than boba drinks. I'd definitely visit their other store locations when I get a chance if I want a quick fix. The only thing that I'd critique is that the servers should smile more so that they're more friendly to the customers who comes in.

Cool tea bar is my number 1 place to go to in Sacramento when I'm craving milk tea. The decor of the establishment isn't very appealing but that's not why I go. The drinks are of quality and always come out super fast, you're never left waiting there longer than 5 mins unless it's super busy. All staff members are super nice and always helpful when it comes to questions and suggestions.

Just like any other milk tea places, but I like this one a bit more because the milk tea doesn't taste like it's so concentrated with powder. Larger cup size and the price is a big cheaper. Tried their glass jelly milk tea (100% sugar) and it's pretty good. The kumquat tea is pretty good also but it's sour for my liking.

Went here with a couple of friends not too long ago and gott damn it was super bright inside! If you live in the night like Batman, you may want to wear sunglasses inside. Anyway.. I ordered a #2, Tea Bar Milk Tea and added some egg pudding up in there. The woman working the front said it was naturally pretty sweet and explained we have the option of determining the percentage of sweetness we'd like. I said eff it, I got a sweet tooth, got 100%. When the drink came out I thought they messed up and got me a large when I ordered a regular size. These drinks are huge! Honestly, I didn't know what to expect out of the taste but it was delicious. I've heard the roasted milk tea was bomb but I'll have to save that for another day. Kind ladies working the counter..large serving sizes..plenty of topping choices...flavorful drinks...Not to mention free WIFI o.O If you want a nice alternative to boba, this spot could be for you.

Best milk tea/boba place in Sac so far! Even though they don't have actual boba (they have boba noodle tho, which is pretty good). I got the #1 which I think is the roast milk tea with grass jelly. It was the perfect balance of milk and tea-match made in heaven ^___^ The service was top quality! I don't know the servers name but she gave us lots of sample and was super nice when answering our questions. Good milk tea + excellent service = 5 star rating :D

I've been here a couple times and have always ordered the #1 (grass jelly roasted milk tea). Davis boba ain't all that (actually it's not good at all) so of course, when I'm near Cool Tea Bar, I have to pay a visit here! If you want to have a sample, they're more than likely to offer you some, just gotta ask :) Shoutout to the employee Kevin for nice and energetic to us!

I'm not sure what all the hype about this place is about exactly. At first I thought this was a boba shop, but they actually don't even sell boba here even though they apparently have it at least some of their other locations. While that doesn't appear to matter to some of the other reviewers, I actually really like boba and always order it, so Cool Tea Bar not having it is a downer for me. I also always try to order fresh fruit drinks at these kind of shops and Cool Tea Bar doesn't have any fresh fruit drink options available. Strike Two. Since there was no boba and no fresh fruit drink options, I decided to go outside of my comfort zone and try the Peach Green Tea with 30% Sugar. While at first it seems impressive that you can say how much sugar you want in your drink, I thought 30% Sugar was way too sweet! I should of ordered my drink with No Sugar, but somehow I'm doubtful that was gonna make this drink still worth the price and be the equivalent of a fresh fruit drink. On top of all this, I didn't see any food options, which I actually really like at both Lollicup and Tapioca Express. I don't plan to come back here when I can get fresh watermelon juice with boba along with fried tofu at Lollicup across the street.

TL;DR: Free samples, customizable sugar levels. Definitely a fan. This little shop is hidden away a few stores down from the ever-so-slightly ghetto SF Market. Once inside, the menu is displayed on two screens behind the counter. I found the menu a little overwhelming at first because there's SO much to decide. Which tea flavor (which all include their name)? Which add ins? What sugar level? Would you like a sample? Luckily the guy behind the counter was patient with me. The answer to that last question is definitely yes. I tried a honey green tea and their new Tea-balls - which I'm fairly certain is just white tapioca balls, aka boba. The best part is that they don't skimp on the samples or with the add ins for your actual order. I ended up ordering a regular sized Cool Tea Milk Tea with 50% sugar and Tea-balls and it was delicious. Definitely worth a trip back if I'm nearby.

This by far one of my favorite milk tea spots it's better than all those other ones in that area! My favorite is the jasmine milk tea with grass jelly... It is sooo good!!! I also have a slight obsession with the milk teas here lol so I go almost once a week to fulfill my milk tea craves! Service is great and sometimes they have long lines but it's worth the wait and it goes by pretty quickly. Overall I really like cool tea bars milk tea!

  • Garett C.

I would rate this as one of the better boba tea places in Sacramento. I have tried the jasmine milk tea and mango green tea drinks. The tea balls (boba) are chewy with a decent flavor while the cool tea balls (agar) are too soft for my taste. I'd probably say to go for 70% sweetness on the sweeter teas to be able to taste the tea. Try to ask for less ice, but know that the ice doesn't melt too fast even in a warm car, so it's not a bad choice to have the extra ice. I would say that this is close to being as good as brown sugar bubble milk, but has a little more variety. Oh, and cool tea bar has white boba which has a different flavor than the brown one. Tl:dr - good flavor, decent boba, less sweet and less ice. Enjoy!

This place is alright. Their size for a normal regular is huge, unless it's just me lol. I really like how you can customize the sweetness level. That's the first place I seen do that. Their menu could do some work and add more choices. I decided to get the regular mango smoothie with no adjustments and it was tasty. Nothing special though. Maybe I'll adjust the sweetness level and see where it goes from there. The employees are very nice and helpful. They have free samples that you can try if it's your first time. Currently, they're doing an raffle for an iPhone 6 giveaway. You have to buy 10 drinks or something to enter I believe.

First of all I love boba places that let you sample things before you even buy it and I love places that give suggestions. To me it shows you care! First time going here and the tea balls were AMAZING and the milk tea was the perfect sweetness. Not only that, the egg pudding paired well with the tea so thank you kind sir for the suggestion! Definitely my new boba place in Sac! can't wait to become back

The roasted milk tea with grass jelly is my favorite. The cups are huge. You can choose how sweet you want your drink. I thought 100% sweet for the roasted milk tea was fine, it wasn't overly sweet.

Cool tea bar is always good. The service is awesome! My favorite thing is the roasted milk tea. I don't know what it is but I always crave it! My first time there, the staff was wonderful! They let me try ANYTHING I wanted. They made like 4 different drinks just so I could be sure I got the one that I really liked. I felt bad that they had to make so many but they said they could use the drinks for sampling. The next few time I went there, I knew exactly what i wanted! No waste there! Cool Tea is the best boba in the area!

Let just say, I'm a major milk tea junkie. Any tea places that you can think of in Sacramento, I've tried majority of them. But cool tea bar... Man, I don't know what in the world the world they put in their tea, but it keeps me coming back for their roasted milk tea. In my opinion, they have the best roasted milk tea I've ever tried. All the other places milk tea don't really compare to them, although they don't have boba, they do have other toppings that will compliment your drinks. Their huge is HUGE, so if u ever get a large, make sure you're thirsty. Haha. Their roasted tea usually comes with grass jelly. Honestly, it tastes fine with or without it. I usually get it with grass jelly without ice because getting iced fills basically half your cup. Customer service here is usually good. I'm not sure if they still do, but if you're new, they will allow samples for any drinks that catches your interests. I've tried other drinks and I think their alright, #1 wins me over and I don't come here for anything else. -1 star because they need to get boba. It's probably because it's a pain in the a** and they don't want to be like any other tea places but can't have milk tea without boba!! So to management, please get some boba!!!! K thank you. Now stop reading this long ass review and get yourself some roasted milk tea. U won't be disappointed.

A 10 year old child can boil some tapioca pearls, so I'm not sure why they can't do that here. I enjoyed the drink I've tried here. The Roasted Milk tea is good. I like how you can order drinks less sweet, and the portions are generous in the large cups. Service is usually good too. Since I'm rarely ever in this area, I probably won't be here too often. It's just not worth the 25 minute trip to me. Worth trying if you're a fan of milk tea.

I LOVE Cool Tea Bar! Best boba place hands down in NorCal. Me and my friends swear by this. You can really just pick any drink from the popular menu and fall in love. My personal favorites are the roasted milk tea with grass jelly and the mango green tea. The grass jelly is seriously ON POINT here, so fresh and so delicious. Most boba places just give the hard, gross textured canned grass jelly but Cool Tea gives A+ grass jelly! I would definitely drive here from Davis to get my fix of amazing drinks! The workers are also very nice!!

New boba placed opened next to the SF supermarket. It has a very simple and efficient design. Also quite spacious for people to hang out My favorite drink to order here is their number 1, grass jelly milk tea! It is consistently on-point and fairly balanced. I would say Cool Tea Bar is one of the better milk tea places around the area as they do not make taste super sugary and sweet ie. tap-x, quickly, lolicup, etc. Still retains some milk and tea flavor. Overall, great and quick service, definitely recommend to give it a try

My favorite drink here is the Mango Green Tea. It may be too sweet for some people, but I feel like the level of sweetness is just right for me. I would say it is currently my favorite flavored tea place to go to. Mango tonic is good too, but I get sick of drinking it halfway and just try to finish the other half so it doesn't go to waste. But 5 stars for the Mango Green Tea!

I rate it as a 1 star purely on the jasmine milk tea. I taste no green tea, I taste all milk. I am a big milk tea fan and the tea has to be strong and equal out with my milk. I am not a sugar fan and asking for 25% sweet was still too sweet and it tasting mostly like milk made it taste like I got a milk tea and not a green milk tea. Highly dissapointed. Everyone raves for this place, but I don't.

This review is way overdue, but I LOVE THIS PLACE! ^__^ So far, I've only been here about 3 times, but it's probably the best tea place in Sac. I don't know why people complain about them not having boba, but who cares?! In this area, there are like 394304934294324 boba places (Lollicup is right around the corner, Bambu is across the plaza, Snowbee, Tapioca Express, Huong Lan, etc!), y'all. COME ON, YOU AIN'T GONNA DIE WITHOUT BOBA. Lol. There's like, "T noodles" which are suppose to be like boba? I haven't tried them yet, but heard they basically taste like nothing. Oops, I should mention the looks of the place. They don't have a sign yet...but that's okay because when you step inside, it's soooooo girly and pink! Honestly, there is a weird almost fishy stench (not really fishy, but I dunno how else to describe) whenever I come here. NOT THAT IT IS A BAD SMELL, LOL. But I have a strong sense of smell and I just always smell it :-( There's a disco ball hanging on the ceiling! Haven't been here at night, but heard that they turn off the lights and it looks like a club haha. Oh yeah, they also open until midnight I believe! Too bad it isn't located near my house or I'd go more frequently. - The first time I came here, I ordered the #1 roasted milk tea w/ grass jelly. OMFG, it did not disappoint! Usually I give up on milk tea at other drink places, but daaaaamn I fell in love! It tastes very fresh and the grass jelly actually tastes freshly made...unlike some other drink places. - The other times, I've ordered the honey lemon tea and the peach green tea. Both were great! But omg, let me share w/ you my experience when I came to order the honey lemon tea... So the honey lemon tea comes with aloe bits and it's under the "special drinks" I believe. Oh yeah, they told me if you order from the "special drinks", you can't adjust it, like you can't substitute whatever topping comes with the drink for grass jelly/fruit jelly/etc. When I ordered this, the girl told me they ran outta aloe and asked if I'd like to add another topping so I asked for lychee jelly. The drink was made pretty fast, maybe like 3 minutes tops...(wonderful customer service btw!) Anyways, so after I got my drink and was sitting at the table w/ my sister waiting for her drink, this guy worker comes up to me and he's all, "Hi, I'm sorry but apparently we didn't run out of aloe and we'd like to make you your drink again so you'd get the real taste of it!" I was all like, "NOOOOOOO it's okay!!!!! I like it!" But he was extremely persistent, telling me that the lychee jelly I had w/ my honey lemon tea would not taste the same as with aloe in it, haha. I was still like, "No no no it's okay ^_^ I'm fine with it!" Then like 2 minutes later, the owners (I think. They were pretty young looking so I didn't know they were in charge o_o) told the dude to make me another drink anyways. OMG THEY ARE SO NICE. OH. The sizes are great as well! The regular is just enough for me--at most boba/tea places, Cool Tea's regular is like a large for other places...which means, their large is hella big. I don't think I'd be ordering a large unless I was dehydrated af or stuck in a desert. OH YEAH, their bathroom is very clean and nice! AND THEY HAVE FREE WIFI. The password to the wifi is on the receipt!!!!! :-)

There's no sign.....it took me a few glances before finding them but I really like this new boba place! There's been a few new ones in Sac but this is one of my favorites. I don't actually order boba when I want a boba drink. I just like the drinks..usually a honey green tea or jasmine milk tea. This place doesn't actually have boba...but the drinks are still good and they offer other toppings! My favorite is the egg pudding and grass jelly. Their #1 roasted milk tea is the most popular and it's also my favorite (could use a little more roast tea flavor though). Well...it's the only one I've had so I guess I'm a bit biased. They offer samples so feel free to try other stuff out. I don't like when desserts/drinks are too sweet so I usually go for the 70%. I actually wanna try 50% next time because even 70% seemed kinda sweet. They're also super nice and quick here! Unlike some new businesses when they're kind of slow..or confused...or kind of stupid (no offense to other boba places). They're open until midnight, which is pretty cool cause you don't really get that in Sac. It becomes a PG-13 night club or something because they dim the lights and the music is kinda loud. Their tables are kind of small, but they have board games so that's a plus. Oh, and their cups are huge! Their regular is equivalent to a large and their large is like...supperrr big. It's only 50 cent more for a large too!

I'm not a milk tea person, but their passion fruit green tea with lychee is so bomb. I'm usually a meh person when it comes to these kinds of drinks, but for some reason it got me sooo hooked. I live in Elk Grove and the fact that I choose this place over all of the boba places in Elk Grove says something. Their staff is always so friendly, and the best part is that they give you samples! I think the fact that they don't have boba steer many people away from this place, but honestly having a different topping in my drink just makes things more interesting than the usual. I would definitely come back here again and try all of their other drinks.

YAY! I am so happy there is a place like Purple Kow here in Sac now! I am a huge fan of milk tea and these so called "boba" places here in Sac are not cutting it. This place is not your average "boba" place. The teas are fresh brewed, the toppings are scrumptious and the sweetness is to your tasting. I like it at 50%. I am only giving it 4 stars because I now see why other milk tea places (like Purple Kow) put their cups in the short stumpy cups unlike the regular size cups they have here. I like the cups short and stumpy so you pretty much get a taste of the toppings in almost every sip. But that's just me being nitpicky. Overall, this place has great customer service, it's clean and the drinks are delicious! I recommend the Roasted Milk Tea with Pudding.

I got their most popular item, roasted milk tea with grass jelly and for my first time trying grass jelly in a drink and I gotta say, I might like it better than boba. Less filling and I was surprised by how easy it broke apart. Thought I was going to have to eat that with a spoon. Their 70% sweetness was plenty sweet already. I liked the "roasted" part of the milk tea which was a little twist from the normal original milk tea. Glad to see decent milk tea does exist in Sac, just have to go all the way to South Sac where all the legit Asian stuff is.

Great customer service! They offered me a taste and I asked them to make it less sweet. I thought they would just add milk or ice. No. They poured it out and made a new drink for me! I felt really guilty about it but thought that was really nice. Know that you can customize sweetness level right off the bat. There was a short wait but it wasn't bad. Once they saw the line getting long (probably because the guy had to remake my drink), they called for reinforcements. Wait wasn't too bad. Order the large bc it's huge and it's only $4 (for most drinks). A tiny drink at Starbuck's costs me more than that! I have tried the jasmine milk tea and the matcha green tea. Both are good. The jasmine milk tea could be more aromatic but I'm a stickler for that. I didn't hang out here but it's a well-lit area and has plenty of tables and chairs if I wanted to. I'll be back to try some more of their teas!

I really liked this place. The milk tea was really good. They also had "TEA BALLS" similar to Boba but clear. THey service was fast and friendly. There was also a strange guy dancing oddly in the place but it was entertaining. The decor needs some work.

We had samples before we bought our tea!!! Really chill place. But... haha all the seating are two chairs per table... felt like for couples. Oh well we dragged chairs together. :) Refreshing tea...ahhh.. portions are bigger than usual. **Happy face

First of all people who are complaining about cool tea bar not having boba needs to get over it. This place is NOT a boba place it's a tea place. So they need to stop being so close minded, I don't get how people can give them less star just because it doesn't have what they want... can't people just rate them by taste & service? With that being said; I love their #1 & #5 with egg pudding! I tend to get mines with light sugar which is 30% I like the fact that it's a little different then some other places in Sacramento. So I can see why some ppl aren't use to it & just can't accept it. I also tired the milk tea & Taiwan tonic soda, I thought both drinks was decent. Nothing worth stopping by for. The service was fast & the employee was nice enough to let me sample almost all their drinks on the menu with different percent of the sugar so I can figure out which percent of sugar I enjoy the most. I just love the fact that they close at 12 every night not just the wkend! So far everyone that I brought to cool tea bar loves this place and I'm also addicted to their drinks.

Cool Tea bar was really welcoming. The cashier Chris and the other worker Josh was very friendly. As me and my roommate tried to figure out what we wanted they offered us a few samples that they had. It was pretty chill, I got a passion green tea with tea balls. They had decks of cards and few Kendamas to play with as you wait for your drink or if your just sitting around. After about 10-15mins the workers asked if we enjoyed the drink that we got. I honestly loved it and would come back again! They had really good customer service. There drinks are amazing! And It's a good modernized boba spot to check out!

I'm here practically everyday! I'm pretty picky about my "boba", so you can bet on this place being delicious. You've got to try their Grass Jelly Roasted Milk Tea! My go to drink Jasmine Milk Tea is great here too! If you get grass jelly make sure you're constantly drinking the jelly, because it floats and you'll be left with a good amount of it at the end! They don't have boba, but they do have T Noodles which is the same thing in a wormish form. It's an interesting change from typical boba places. I like it. :) The customer service here is top notch! There's an asian girl who wears glasses that works all the time; she's the best! Ask for suggestions if you dont really know what toppings for the drink you're ordering. They'll really cater to you if you want your drink adjusted a tiny bit. In fact they've had me and my friends sample our drinks before pouring it out to make sure it's just the way you want it! They also always have samples too! So make sure you try those!

This place is awesome! Their drinks have been consistently good each time I've ordered them. I usually get the #1 or the #3 with grass jelly. I like that they're really generous with the amount of toppings they put in their drinks. They're not skimping on the grass jelly like other places! Definitely my current favorite place to get milk tea. The decor is kind of tacky, I don't like how flimsy and cheap the chairs and tables are. I feel like I'm gonna fall off or they're gonna break on me. But the review is for the milk tea and if you want excellent milk tea hen this is the place to go!

Cheers for milk tea where I can actually still taste the tea! Not sure why, but all the recent milk tea places in Sacramento has the milk tea tasting more like milk than tea. I've had the normal milk tea and the roasted milk tea with boba (yes they have boba, it's clear boba but it's definitely boba, pretty good boba too, perfectly cooked with no hard center and not too mushy and it was sweet, I love when the boba is cooked with a sweetener it makes a world of difference in my boba enjoyment and so many places don't bother) and the grass jelly. I wasn't sure about the grass jelly because it just sounded weird to drink with milk tea, I mean I like grass jelly as much as the next person, but in milk tea? Surprisingly it works really well. This might just become my go to boba spot. I also like how they will make the drink for you and adjust the sugar as needed if you request it. I usually get the 70 percent sweet, but I do have a little bit of a sweet tooth when it comes to drinks. The one thing I don't like about the place is the disco ball, not sure where the owners are going with it, trying to bring in a club atmosphere at a boba store? Unlike the grass jelly, that doesn't really jive well milk tea in my opinion. Also the drinks here are huge for boba tea! The regular is a typical places large and the large is a size I have never seen in boba shops. I think it's 34 ounces.

My number one go-to drink to judge a place is the mango green tea. I ordered it here first and loved it! Not too sweet and not too...tea-ish. Haha but my boyfriend ordered their number one seller, roasted milk tea with grass jelly. I loved it even more!! I had to order a second one for myself and save the mango for later. They don't usually have this milk tea everywhere else. I like the taste, it's not too strong. And more importantly I don't like grass jelly but I enjoyed it here, it has pudding consistency. Definitely would come back here. Their sizes are bigger than most places, for pretty much the same prices! Next time I would like to try the Taiwan mango tonic..or probably just another roasted milk tea or two :P

Every time I go to Sac I always stop by here. It's much better than the places in Davis. I usually get the large jasmine milk tea. It's only 50 cents more for a large and you get a lot more. They have games here to play also. Staff is always friendly and are willing go give out free samples.

Pink and yellow...pink and yellow. Nope, that didn't work. Black and yellow it will remain except when you walk into Cool Tea Bar. The walls are SUPERRRRRRRRR pink. Anyways, I digress. The drinks here are GREAT. We normally get the roasted milk tea, which is DA BOMB! In my humble opinion, it tastes just as good as that one popular place in the City that shall remain nameless. Parking here is a breeze, but the sh***y drivers are what you gotta worry about in this strip shopping mall anchored by SF Market.

It was love at first sip! The roasted milk tea tastes delicious, with just a hint of toastiness. My husband loved his passion fruit green tea too. Both were at the right level of sweetness, but Cool Tea will customize the sweetness level for you! And if you know the large at Tap X, well this place's large is much larger and for the same price! Service was friendly. It wasn't busy when I came, so they had time to give us samples of drinks. That's when I knew that their roasted milk tea and I were meant to be. Note: Unfortunately, they do not have boba! But I don't mind, I love grass jelly. Maybe they will in the future if more people suggest it.

Everyone is kind of obsessed with this place. I am not sure if its because of what i've been ordering but I don't find anything amazing about it. I would say that the music kind of throws me off because it's so loud. I would definitely come back to check out more to their drink menu though.
