Diabetics at Whataburger

Diabetics need to be a bit cautious while dining at Whataburger. Almost every burger is rich in sodium content and it is highly recommended to keep your burger cravings in control while dining at Whataburger. However, you can always satisfy your cravings for a burger by choosing Whataburger Jr. or other non-burger items from the menu.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for Diabetics:

A diabetic should resist from ordering any extra meat-based burger such as Double Meat Whataburger or Triple Meat Whataburger to limit the sodium intake and calories. Most burgers except the Whataburger Jr. are high in sodium and hence should be avoided.

If you are a diabetic, you should also avoid Honey BBQ Chicken Strip Sandwich and Whataburger Patty Melt at Whataburger. Chicken Fajita Taco is also off-limits for diabetics. High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Great food!! We had the spicy guacamole burger and the jalapeño burger. Both were great, but if your looking for more heat and flavor go for the jalapeño burger! The only bad thing is this place is busy!! Which makes for a lot of noise! Beer selection is good. Lots of local beer and wine. Definitely a new favorite!

Way Over-rated!!! I'm not sure why this place gets such high marks? Their name is Burgers & Brew - 1) location - great! 2) service - very good! 3) Burgers - just ok - other places do a better job. But when you get a burger - you expect the fries - right? Their fries were soft (probably frozen) and my sweet potato fries were frozen. Tip: hand cut fries ! I can't wait for Broderick to open!!? (Owner - try BurgerMe in Truckee or Reno and try Lucky Beaver in Reno or Tahoe). PS. Their beer & selection was really good though...

Found my new favorite thing here on Friday night! On the menu, you'll see a Guinness shake, which of course I HAD to have. But then the bartender recommended ordering it with Old Rasputin Stout instead. SO GOOD. Oh. My. God. Really hit the spot on a warm night. I haven't had the burgers here yet, but I have enjoyed dropping in for beer and fries. They have one of the best beer offerings in midtown, and some unique fry toppings. One of them comes with guacamole!

Visited on a Sunday night. Good beer selection for sure had the Alabash...I ordered the chorizo burger it was missing something....flavor lol. Had onions rings instead of fries those were delish! Ordered the Baja fries you could make these just as good at home they were ok, good guacamole but missing a good chile salsa. The service was terrible we had Tammi, no greeting, we were there 20 min before she took the order, she was helping the to-go line, the food took another 20 she didn't ask if we needed anything...like a clean fork for one and some BBQ and ranch for the rings. Never refilled the water or cleared the plates and we had to go to the register to get our bill!

I first came here at the beginning of this year in January for SacAnime Convention and came back for the second time for Sacanime Con in the summer. This place is the burger spot for me! Both times my burger and fries were on point, so delicious. I will be back in Sacramento for next year's Sacanime Con in January and bringing a friend :D See you guys soon!

I had a great time here with some friends the other night! I love that they have so many awesome beers on tap. I had the 1554 Enlightened and it was sooo good! The burger I had was absolutely amazing and I upgraded to the Gladiator french fries. The fresh garlic on there was delicious and I think I'll get a full order of them next time because they were so darn good! They had grilled chicken, feta, garlic, and Caesar dressing on top! Mmmmm Great ambiance and tasty food! I can't wait to go back again! :)

Second time here not impressed with the inconsistent service. It took forever to get our drink order and longer for the food. It's always busy not a bad thing just annoying that you can't call ahead. Overall my enthusiasm for this spot is "meh".

I love this place. Awesome selection of craft beers and a staff that understand beer. The burgers are epic. They are like all American beef masterpieces. It has a friendly staff who can recommend you a proper pint and the atmosphere is very laid back . I will come here everytime I am in Sacramento.

My chorizo burger (although it sounded amazing) was mediocre at best. It was so disappointing I would have rated them one star but the beer I got was okay so I will give them two stars. Maybe they should change their name to just "Brew" :)

Burgers and Brew is great and has amazing food! The most recent time I went was during lunch time. You place your order in line and seat yourself. Your drinks are available right away from the bar (all drinks), and food is delivered to your table. The jalapeño bacon burger is great (especially when you add guacamole)!! The service was fast and enjoyable.

I had the Lamb Burger, it wasn't bad. Also it was different with the yogurt sauce. Next time, I will try a more fatty burger. Nice place to hang out for lunch. :)

This is a good place to drink beer and have burgers and fries. I would not recommend getting the chili, steak sandwich or fish and chips. They were all extremely bland!

Love the food here. My wife and I order pick up at least once a month. This particular time though, my wife called for a pick up at approximately 5:45pm. The woman on the other end gave us an estimation of 15 minutes. I arrive at 6pm and pay, food isn't ready yet so I grab a seat. I see two boxes come out 5 minutes later, its somewhat busy but not "dinner rush" busy (the place was only about 30% full). I sat one table away from the bar which is primarily where the take out is collected. Food sat there a couple more minutes and I eventually had to get up and ask a random waitress if she could check to see if my order was ready. She was nice enough to ask if I wanted some sauce for my burgers. This experience wasn't bad enough to say I won't come back but it was a little frustrating.

Vegan: Highly recommend their portobello burger with no mayo. I added jalapenos and their spicy guacamole!! YUMMY! For the side, I did the mixed green. Pretty standard...

If you're looking for a place that accommodates vegetarians look no further. They have the best smoked tofu burger in town and to go along with it you can choose from about 10 different specialty fries. You can't go wrong with any of those but I prefer sweet potatoe fries as my side order. The service is always great and the staff is super friendly. FIVE STARS!

I have been a loyal customer at this joint for years and I'm sad to say that I will never dine at Burgers and Brew of Sacramento again... I came in with a group of eight coworkers on a Tuesday night. We were seated in an hour. No big deal, it's a popular joint and we stood outside enjoying our beer. I ordered a turkey burger without mayonnaise and took a large bite. I noticed my burger tasted different and saw that it was still very pink and if you know any better, eating raw turkey is no good. I sent it back and they gave me a complimentary side of fries to nibble on as my party continued eating. The waitress brings out my burger and I notice the exact same patty on the new bun. My initial first bite was clearly visible! This meant that the cooks threw on a turkey burger patty that was clearly bitten into back on the grill as other new customer's foods were getting cooked alongside and more. That was disgusting but I still tried to stay positive and continue dining with my coworkers. I take off my bun to throw on my BBQ sauce and I see that there is mayonnaise all over it. My initial order was with no mayonnaise. Again, I don't know why but I said forget it, I don't need two buns to enjoy this meal. So I lift the bottom one and there was also mayonnaise all over the bottom bun. After that, I sent it back and asked to not be charged. The waitress seemed a little snobby although I spoke clearly to her with no anger whatsoever. After all, she didn't cook the patty. She's just a waitress. I've dealt with a lot of bad service at Burgers and Brew because most of the employees are drunk but they usually serve great burgers late at night. But this was appalling and unacceptable! Be careful the next time you take a bite into a burger by those who didn't even want to provide a new patty even though it was bitten into and thrown on the grill YOUR food is going to be sitting on next.

Burgers & Brew was overall a pretty good dinner time experience. We went around 6 o'clock, which I guess was prime time for downtown dining because there were no tables available outside, where I really wanted to sit. It was no big deal though, so we just sat inside. However, it was EXTREMELY loud in there. It was packed - every table was filled with people & it sounded like everyone was shouting over each other. I was sitting right next to my boyfriend & could barely hear him when he spoke. The tables were so close together that people kept bumping into his chair. We were seated, I checked out the very long beer menu, then we ordered drinks. They were out of the first 2 beers I chose so I just settled for a random one. It sucked because you never really choose a 3rd backup beer, so I didn't even get one that I really wanted. I ended up liking it though so it wasn't too bad. Next we ordered burgers & garlic fries. The wait time was a bit long, but expected since it was so busy. I ordered the buffalo burger, which I assumed would be a buffalo chicken burger. So I was pretty surprised when my food came that I just got a normal burger with lettuce & tomato. I said something to the waitress & she said that the buffalo burger is actually made of bison meat. I don't remember what the menu said, so it could've easily been my fault for assuming, but it was still a bummer. The garlic curly fries, however, were great. I feel like it could've been a better visit had we not gone when it was so busy.

The chorizo burger and the bacon burger are my favorites here! This place has not disappointed in several visits. Prices are reasonable too for food and beer. It also has a little outside patio too so that nice. You can sit outside and watch the downtown wierdos, creepers, drunks, hootchie mommas and the dudes that like to walk around in their suites and feel important. LOL jk I saw mayor Keven Johnson walk by out here at last years St. Patties day. If you want a big juicy burger and your downtown this is a place you got to check out!

Great food. I have been here many times in the evening. Today was the first time in the afternoon. I wasn't aware of the self service and i sat for 15 minutes before I realized I was not going to be served. I like there full service mode much better. I think the wait staff would as well as I didn't have anyone to tip.

We were starving after flying into Sac and checking into our hotel. This place was just down the street and it did not disappoint for a second. There was a bit of a wait but we totally understood why after our meal. Ordered the chorizo burger with onion rings and it was downright delicious. Huge portions, not too greasy and well seasoned. The onion rings were hot, crispy and plentiful. The draft beers were ice cold and the service was impeccable. We had about 4 people including our waiter who were all willing to serve us anything we needed. Not the cheapest burger ever but well worth the experience of eating here. Highly recommended.

The name of this restaurant says it all. "Burgers and Brew"!! This is a nice chill place to hang out with Family and Friends. I heard the Lamb burger and Spicy Guacamole burger is suppose to be tasty and popular. I personally only tried the Bacon Cheese burger so far and I've enjoyed it. The portions are pretty big I must say! I shared my burger because I actually wasn't that hungry. The menu for beer is pretty extensive, more than a lot of other places. I totally would recommend this restaurant for those who really like burgers, and big ones too! Besides all the food and drinking, this place can get a bit crowded on the weekends. Glad there is a lot of street parking to accommodate the businesses on R street. Easy to find! This place is right between Shady Lady and R15 Bar. After your dinner at Burgers and Brew, The party can continue at the bars! Enjoy!

They get four stars off the back just for serving decent burgers after nine at night in the Sacto area which is becoming a rarer and rarer feat. It's one of my goto spots for late night take out - as the crowds there are always pretty big as there is shady and ace of spades right next to it. Usually I can get in and out for pickup in less than 5 minutes which is fantastic given the food. I have gotten sick once here and truth to tell it did turn me off to the spot for a minute but honestly - I've been here enough times...I'm not really concerned, especially considering the food has been consistently good quality. I usually order the lamb burger and it's always been pretty spot on yummy - they also do cheese Fries which is always a fantastic choice to really Quench that late nite fat attack. On another note I will say the staff here in my experience is always way friendly and more importantly efficient ..so way to go there. I'm a fan

They have one of my favorite vegetarian burgers in Sacramento, the tofu burger. It is smoky and hearty, delicious with additional avocado and caramelized onions. Their garlic fries are also delicious and they have a nice wine selection and intimate seating arrangements.

Came here for dinner with a group of 8 friends. The place was absolutely packed and now I know why. Their burgers are delicious. I ordered the spicy guacamole burger, a little hesitant because I was afraid it would be too spicy, but let me tell you, it was perfect! My patty was cooked perfectly medium. The guacamole was super fresh! It was amazing. My only complaint with the entire meal was that my curly garlic fries were drenched in garlic and way too potent to eat. Overall, great place to grab a beer and a burger!

Had the worst experience here tonight. Ordered an IPA (beer) and received a glass full of ice with beer and asked the waiter that I wanted a glass that didn't have ice. When has it ever been acceptable to serve beer with ice? The waiter gave me attitude the entire time I was there and gave me a funny/disgusted look when I asked to have my beer replaced. I've never been so embarrassed to recommend a restaurant to others.

I love experiencing new food when I am out of town. This place is somewhere I could go back to again. The menu for the french fries is a fat girls dream. Well I am not a fat girl and it is still my dream. Just wow. Sat there wondering which one was somehow slightly better than the next because I could have ordered them all. Got a huge plate of them for an appetizer. Honestly, I do not remember which ones but that does not matter. ORDER THEM ALL! Also ordered a boca burger and the waiter suggested the onion rings on the side. Best suggestion I had heard all day long. Nutella cheesecake for dessert. Sadly, I could not take ONE BITE of the burger because I was extremely stuffed from the fries, onion rings and cheesecake. I tossed it because my hotel did not have a fridge. That is just so sad. All I have to say is those onion rings?! Were the BEST I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE. Yes. Believe it. It is true. Cheesecake was eh. I would pass on it next time.

It's been a long time since I've written a 5-star review for food (that isn't brunch) but WOW, I really like this place. Everything about this place comes together to make a perfect package that makes for a wonderful dining experience! First, Burgers and Brew is on a nice little street with some hipster shops/bars nearby, lending to its credibility. My roommate and I actually sat outside on the patio and it was a warm spring early evening so it was absolutely perfect (if only we were on a real date.... sigh!) AND they have umbrellas so there's no worrying about the sun smacking you in the face as you're trying to eat. I noticed that a lot of people walk their dogs around here so I suppose that could be a downside for some, but I love seeing people and their pets out for neighborly strolls. It feels homey! The burgers are freaking incredible!! I got an avocado cheeseburger which was SUPER juicy even though it was cooked a bit more than I requested (medium was more like well done, but I don't care too much... just be warned). I got a side of garlic curly fries which ohmygoodness just incredible. I was supposed to share with my roommate but I think I ended up hogging most of it. They have a few interesting choices here like a lamb burger or the buffalo burger (which my roommate got, but she couldn't really discern any difference from a traditional beef burger) but I think they know their burgers well and you can easily go with any burger and be ok. Sadly, no brew for us this time, but we definitely put a mental stamp on this place as a repeat, so next time for sure! The service here is exceptional. They don't try to talk to you when your mouth is full of food but they also don't ignore you or leave you hanging for the check for hours and hours. They also get major props for recommending the garlic curly fries. Loved everything about this place and I don't know how long I can stay away before I come crawling back to gobble up their happy hour menu next (!)

Great burgers, a nice pub setting, with plenty of brews on tap. Caution: Parking is a bit difficult. You may have to hike a bit. This is one of my go to places for a great burger. The staff are courteous, and they whip out your order relatively quickly. They have good deals for their happy hour. Also their food is consistent. My recommendation is to stick to the basics.. Burgers, fries, and brews. I was not impressed with their soups and some of the things i've tried on their menu. Their appetizers are great, my favorite are the beast mode fries. The burgers are hefty, i've never been disappointed from any of them. If you're looking for a good burger and a nice setting to hang out with friends, this is the place!

Ok, so I'll keep four stars for the dope beer selection. I've been several times and only had one bad burger. If you don't come here after midnight then don't worry, but if you do - watch out (and this is in all fairness). If you're gonna stay open this late, B&B, make sure you're training your guys right or giving them enough coffee (haven't had a dry burger anywhere else in Davis, the rest have all been medium-rare like I ask). Seriously though, if it before midnight you're probably fine.

Best burger for the money in Sacramento. One of the best beer selections as well. I have come here at least 30 times. I usually order the Spicy Guacamole burger. Today, I decided to go with the special, the Spicy Blue Cheeseburger (at least that's what I think it was called). Burger was cooked perfectly, as usual (medium rare is the only way to have a great burger). The red hot sauce, with the blue cheese, with the jalapeños, made for a fantastic burger. As for the beer, I enjoyed an Arrogant Bastard (since I am one) and the Alpine Nelson (highly rated and hard to find). I love their constantly rotating taps. Service was quick as usual, as well. Order at the counter before 5. After 5 they have table service. Both are quick.

I've been here on two separate occasions under two different types of dietary habits. The first time I went here was for my friend's birthday. The place is tiny, tiny and we had a HUGE party. Someone we managed to squeeze like 20 people on one table but their wasn't much elbow room. I got the spicy guacamole burger with fries. Spicy guac is officially the way to my heart. De-freaking-licious. I would lick that spatula clean. I remember my brother-in-law got the bison or buffalo burger because I tried a bit of it and it was actually very good. I was expecting a really gamy piece of meat, but you couldn't tell it wasn't beef. Recently, we returned here for a quick bite to eat after flag football. Since my last visit, I stopped eating red meat. I would've opted for a chicken sandwich or some but sitting out in the sun all day kind of ruined my appetite. Anyway, I ended up getting the Baja fries which is like carne asada fries without the meat. It came out piping hot and was delicious. I'm telling you..GUAC. It makes the dish. My sister got a side salad it was humungous. Definitely had to take it home. Lots of bang for you buck. Would definitely return and maybe get a beer next time too.
