There are so many good things about Baker's. Small, family owned business and the ORIGINAL place in Sac to pick up Ice Glazers (donut & ice cream sandwich). Their donuts are always fresh and light and they use Gunther's Ice Cream. If you haven't tried theirs hurry up!! They are the BEST!!! You can't go wrong with the donuts either. Cronuts are on point & my favorite donuts are the Blue Hippo & Ube Fruity Pebbles! Mmmm I can't forget about the Cream Cheese muffins too!! I do suggest calling ahead of time to place an order because depending on the time your options can be limited. Thank you Stephany & family for the great donuts!! Check in and save on Cronuts!!

My favorite is the maple bacon cronut - never disappoints! All of their flavors aren't too sweet for my taste. The Ice glazers are awesome as well, but show up early before they run out!!! They ran out on me twice already. My only suggestion is having the customizable number donuts bigger. I ordered donuts in the shape of a "6" and a "3" and they look way bigger in the picture. They tasted good, BUT it was very small.

This tiny little joint rocks big time doughnuts! There is an ugliness that comes with wanting donuts on National Doughnut Day. Long lines and crazy people in those long lines. After a nine and a half mile journey from Carmichael to South Sacramento, there was indeed a line of people wrapped around Baker's Donuts on Florin Road. It was a slow moving line unfortunately, but at least I was waiting for gourmet donuts without a bunch of crazies around me. Everyone seemed patient and excited to celebrate this most awesome of nationally observed days. The beauty of this day, however, was that this little place (and it is a small place- like four small tables inside and two small tables outside) had people lining up and cars moving through the parking lot looking for somewhere just to get close. Krispy Kreme directly across the street looked like business-as-usual on any given day. Plenty of parking, no wait, AND they were giving away free doughnuts. I have never really understood the allure of Krispy Kreme, yet fanatics swear by them. Today only cemented my suspicions that they are just ordinary doughnuts. Witnessing this local small business, Bakers Donuts, "krushing" this corporate juggernaut on a day dedicated to their craft was very enlightening. The day was already off to a great start. So when I finally got inside, it was surprisingly clean despite the horde of people moving through. It was obvious the staff was under pressure, but they were handling it extremely well. As I started ordering, I was told they were out of a couple of things I was ordering. A Buttermilk Bar (for my mom), and a couple of old fashioned doughnuts had just sold out moments before I got to the front. The young lady at the counter was very cool and collected and had a great attitude despite the craziness taking place behind the counter. I then switched gears and said, "give me a nice colorful dozen like I see on your Instagram feed all the time." She smiled and quickly replied, "I can do that, but give us five minutes for a new batch to come up." Five minutes later I had a beautiful box of Bakers Donuts (see my photos), and I was on my way home back to Carmichael. The creations you will find at this place are almost endless. My box of doughnuts was a mixture of colored glazes and topped with yummy items like Cap'n Crunch cereal, Fruity Pebbles, Cocoa Puffs, chocolate chips, and even Oreo cookies. But that is a drop in the bucket to what they offer. You can get bacon maple doughnuts, cronuts (croissant doughnuts), and Ice Glazers (doughnuts filled with Gunthers ice cream) among other things. If you have never been here, you really owe it to yourself to check it out at least once! It's like Voodoo Doughnut, but in Sacramento, and yes... the quality is comparable between the two. Four stars! Easily! They have a trendy Instagram feed. If you like pictures of colorful delicious doughnuts, you can follow their Instagram feed here: @BAKERSDONUTS A great experience! Happy National Doughnut Day everyone!

2 words - ice glazers!!! Donut is fresh and they have the best ice cream! I tried the oreo mint and vanilla combination and it's just wow! It's a donut shop but my gawd their ice cream is delish! It's soooo creamy! Worth the drive ( and the gas!)

I haven't been to Baker's Donuts since Florin Mall was open and I was a pimply-face high school student. Back then they only offered the traditional donuts that you can find at your local grocery store's bakery. Fast forward to 2015...Baker's Donuts has set the bar pretty high for other donut shops...including the Krispy Kreme located next door. I mention the Krispy Kreme because they opened up next door to Baker's a couple of years ago. At the time, everyone (including myself) thought that Baker's would be doomed (chains like Krispy Kreme are hard to compete with). However, that is not the case. Baker's has introduced a new line of specialty donuts. These donuts distinguish them from the typical donuts that you would get at Krispy Kreme and other donut shops. Recently I purchased 5 dozen assortments of donuts for my coworkers. Because I'm watching my figure, I decided to try one of their speciality donuts. I went for the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup donut (a Yelp favorite). I was surprised to learn that the donut not only had Reese's Peanut Butter Cup topping, but was also infused. I definitely see why local bodybuilders go nuts over these donuts when they have finished a competition. These specialty donuts are in such high demand that they often sell out (I ordered mine a day in advance). I will definitely be returning to try out the other specialty donuts that they offer (the red velvet flavor is crazy popular)! Regardless of how busy they are, their customer service is exceptional. As a small business owner, I love supporting local small businesses. Don't fall into the hype of Krispy Kreme, give Baker's Donuts a try!

Support your local mom and pop donut shop, because it's fire. Glazed donuts with ube, thai tea, and blue hippo are amongst my favorites. I have no clue what blue hippo is or how the mint ice cream comes in blue, but it's magnificent. Prices are kind of steep but everything's made with love. Shouts out to Bakers. Please consider going green and switch from Styrofoam and plastic to biodegradable containers. :)

This place definitely has some Instagram-worthy donuts. The location is a bit sketchy and they had their specialty donuts in the back. They sell out real fast so you have to go early. The people working there were super friendly though. My friends and I were a bit frazzled on what to order since it was our first time but the lady behind the counter had great recommendations. They have a special menu to order cronuts from. Be careful, because cronuts do cost more. The ube and fruity pebble donut was a bit too sweet for me. I could definitely taste a hint of the ube flavor though. My friend said the green tea fruity pebble donut didn't have the green tea flavor, but it wasn't too sweet like the ube one. My only complaint is that some of the donuts can be too sweet. They had a Reeses filled donut and the lady even recommended us to share the donut because its too sweet. This is definitely the place to go to for specialty and unique donuts because you won't find their unique flavors anywhere else.

I remember coming to this shop before they upgraded their menu and added cronuts and various other unique donuts. I was scared by the opening of Krispy Kreme right next door that it would hurt their business, however the new editions definitely kept them going. Walking in now reminds me of the time I was younger since the shop is still a small hole-in-the-wall. Their donuts are better than ever and fairly cheap. My favorite is the Cookie Crumb Butter Cronut. If you haven't had it, you're definitely missing out. Support local businesses!

So we came in literally 5 minutes before closing (bitches, I know. But we were craving), and the lady happily opened the door for us. We grabbed three croughnuts... And she threw in 4 extra donuts for FREE!! On top of that, both the donut and croughnut were amazing... And that's after they'd been sitting out. I can only imagine how awesome it would taste fresh!! I'm definitely coming back for more!

Donuts baked from true bakers... this is Bakers Donuts. I recall Bakers Donut following me on another social media, and when I saw how their donuts looked like, I definitely sought to try it out. Pros: - You can walk in, or go through the drive-thru - LOADS of fun flavors to try out, from plain doughnuts, to cronuts, to even ice cream doughnut sandwiches. - Their donuts are always so appealing to the eye. - They accept cash and card! - Call in advance and they'll have your donuts ready once you go there to pick them up. - Filling doughnuts. I'm surprised that only one of these bad boys can keep me full. - Really nice and helpful workers, especially if you've never been there. Cons: - Parking lot is SO small. - Getting here is a tad bit difficult since Florin is normally busy. - Pretty pricey. One donut's about $3.25? - The place needs a bit more livelihood put into it. It looks worn down. I love their Ice Glazers (basically their ice cream sandwiches) I might actually prefer theirs over The Parlors. They put a large scoop of whatever choice of ice cream is available in between two delicious and freshly baked doughnuts with toppings of your choice. The blue hippo is always a favorite of mine. Minty ice cream with oreo cookie bits. MMMMMmmmm ~ I'm still dying to try out their cronuts. I'll eventually find time to try it out :).

  • B K.

I have tried every "cronut" (croissant donut) they offer here and they are all exceptional but I think my favorite is the cookie butter. They are all light and airy which is great since you won't feel weighed down after eating them like you would after a regular donut. Besides the cronuts, their other creative donuts such as the mint glaze with oreo topping are all excellent as well. My favorite of these kind is the peanut butter chocolate which comes with a Reese's on the inside which makes it so decadent! I love this place and can't wait to see what creation they come up with next!

  • Cara P.

Hands down the best donuts in the Sacramento area!! They are best known for their creativity, similar to VooDoo donuts in OR. I love their Reese's donuts topped with peanut bits, peanut butter and chocolate glaze, and a Reese's inside! Their maple bars with bacon are also an amazing creation. They are a popular donut joint, so if you want to visit, best avoid the busy hours like the morning-- anytime to beat the crowds. I remember going one morning around 11am, unaware that it was National Donut Day, and found myself in a line that wrapped around the side of the building. It's a small place, so sometimes they sell out quickly!

I traveled from the east coast to try these donuts and boy was it worth it! Came here on a weekend visit to Sacramento after seeing them on Instagram. These donuts are just as good as they look and then some. Service is super friendly and they really make you feel welcomed! So indulge a little and grab a donut here... or a dozen.

After describing my preferred 80/20 Paleo diet to a friend, she immediately took me to this spot - gotta love old middle school friends. To be honest, I was terrified. I hadn't had a doughnut in at least a year, let alone slamming two scoops of ice cream inside one. I made my friend share an Ube ice cream filled, glazed doughtnut and boy, was I pleasantly surprised! The doughnut was super soft and not as crystallized sugary tasting as cold glazed doughnuts sometimes get. The ube ice cream complemented the doughnut very well, and made for a gorgeous contrast of colors. I'm sure I even took a bite or two from the half that was designated for my friend (; The reason I didn't think twice about giving this place 5 stars is for the super sweet lady at the counter! We came here on a cold day, and she was the only one working there. The person at the drive through was being pretty rude, and another lady just walked out of the restaurant because she couldn't wait an extra 5 minutes while our order was being taken. The lady was thankful that we were patient with her, and gave us 4 free doughnuts after we had paid! Love my Sac town local business owners!

Warning: if buying cronuts (croissant donuts) call in your order and then pick it up. They make them fresh, which is great, so they need time to make them. I came at 5:30 am on a weekday and we ordered a dozen and a half cronuts of most of the flavors, and waited an hour for them. We didn't mind though because they were definitely worth the wait and the owner was extremely friendly. At the end, she ended up giving us 2 bags full of delicious donut holes and a couple donuts. While waiting, there was a consistent stream of people, majority of them were regulars that the owner chatted with and already knew their orders. When ordering cronuts, there is a menu with pictures of every one! The cronuts all look extremely overwhelming but once you take a bite of them, they aren't. The thick flaky croissant part underneath the frosting/toppings makes a great balance, so nothing is too sweet. The "Ice Glazers" (ice cream inside of a warm donut) is amazing! It's huge, so you can definitely share one. You cannot go wrong with the taro ice cream and captain crunch. YOU WONT REGRET IT. I will come back to try other flavors!

Coming into this tiny donut shop, at the break of dawn, I honestly didn't know what to expect. Sure, it's not the in the greatest neighborhood and the area is crawling with homeless. But, gosh darn, if it's not the nicest homeless population you've ever met. I shared my donuts and bought a cup of cocoa for this woman - why? I don't know - this place just puts you in great mood. The cronuts will do this to you people. Sugar equals happiness, what can I say? However, I need to add one caveat to this whole shebang. The delicious, flaky morsels are EXPENSIVE. $75 for 2 dozen cronuts. In saying that, they were tasty! Red velvet, espresso, maple bacon...the list goes on and on and they are all superb! They are splurge-worthy, I promise. And, you'll be a good citizen, because immediately after eating a cronut, you'll be a better person and will probably start volunteering and giving large donations to Capital Public Radio. You'll be the best philanthropist of Sacramento, the mayor will honor you, give you a key to the city! And it all started with a cronut. Trust me on this!

After eating an apple to satisfy my craving for something sweet; my mind was still fixated on something...red velvet. I yelped what appears to be close to me and BAAM! Bakers donuts popped up. Sadly as close as this location is from where I reside, I still haven't paid a visit. I finally made my way! I was the only car there and only customer. There was a sweet Asian lady behind the counter who greeted me. I got four cronuts and she gave me a dollar discount, and threw in some donut holes. That was super sweet. Taste: I only ate the donut holes and red velvet cronut. Donut holes were your typical.. Nothing different, just good. Red velvet cronut--the texture and taste is pretty incredible. It's not super sweet, which I like. The texture is of a croissant but crunch-like. Yumm! Would I come back? Most definitely, but I couldn't on a daily or weekly basis. I would have to gym every day and maybe twice a day.

Yummmyyyyyy!!!! Me and my families favorite spot for donuts :) my all time fave is the bacon maple donut and the donut holes

Bomb.com ..... Just saying. The bacon maple donut is to die for. There are so many varieties of doughnuts, it's incredible. I love all the colors and options they have. This place appears to be just a "hole in the wall" type of place .... But in reality it's so much more!!! We drove 2 hours just to come and experience the difference!

I was thoroughly surprised when I got to this little donut shop. It might have been the number of loiterers in the front, or the bags of cake flour (or was it bags of concrete...) but I guess i thought the place would be a tad bit cleaner. I'm also not really familiar with this side of Sacramento, so I didn't know what to expect. I only ordered a red velvet cronut. I wasn't sure of what else to get, and didn't use my trusty yelp app to provide the highlights. Seeing cool pictures of ice cream donuts makes me wish I had checked it out, but just based on what was available and looking at the menu, I couldn't figure out what to order... so I just went with cronut. They handed me a cronut menu, from which they dress up their cronuts to your liking based on the menu. It was okay. If you've never had a cronut, these are pretty standard. They have a lot of variety, which is nice. There is also a yelp check in offer, that you must call 24 hours in advance of ordering, but it's a pretty good deal. I just wanted one though. Sadly, there was a little piece of ... metal? In my cronut. Kind of like a piece of a twist tie wire. Maybe i'll try their ice cream donut if I'm in the area, but I don't think I'd drive out to get donuts from here.

WOW! I finally checked this place out. Yum!!They have the best donuts ever!! I died and landed in donut heaven. The staff that work here are super friendly and they also have a drive thru. If you haven't checked this place out...well....you're missing out ;)

I don't usually like toasted coconut, but I got the coconut cronut and it's delicious. Can't believe I've lived in sac for my whole life and never found this until now

Delicious doughnut combinations and very friendly staff. A huge win in my book. From maple bacon to blue hippo, the flavor combinations are endless. But man, are they worth trying. Everything I've gotten from Baker's has been absolutely delicious and everyone who I've brought Baker's doughnuts to were amazed. The staff also tends to slip you in an extra doughnut. They definitely know how to keep you coming back. Go here for all your doughnut cravings. Just do it.

On our way back from Tahoe, I told my family that we needed to stop by Bakers Donuts because I knew there was no way that I was driving all the way from SF to Sacramento to get an ice cream stuffed donut. After a late lunch, we drove up to this small, dark store that honestly, looked so unwelcoming that I thought it was closed down! However, I was proven wrong, when an Asian male employee greeted me with a warm welcoming smile. He had asked if it was my first time at Bakers Donuts and I told him how we traveled from Tahoe and lived in SF etc etc blah blah! After being informed that most of their flavors had run out, I ordered a glazed donut with vanilla ice cream and fruity pebbles which came out to be around $4. After receiving the glazed ice cream filled donut, the same employee opened the donut case and gave me about 5 donuts since it was my first time there! I thought the gesture was absolutely sweet, but totally unnecessary. The ice cream filled donut was very good and my sisters wished they had bought one when they had the chance! I love little mom and pop shops like these ones! Bakers Donuts truly exemplifies great customer service with a smile. Don't be like me and judge the book by its cover, because Bakers Donuts will prove you wrong!

On Christmas Eve I yelped and instagrammed for a place close by to order some cronuts for Christmas Day. I called and asked if I could preorder. The lady asked if I've ordered before and I said no but I'll come pick them up for sure. She trusted me and sure enough they were there the next day. They were a hit at my family Christmas party. I bought a dozen cronuts, glazed & cinnamon sugar. They were demolished! I saved one for myself and ate it that night. Warmed it up in the microwave and it was still delicious! I also bought a couple more items to take to my friend. It was $34 for everything after a $2.50 discount. I guess the cronuts are $2.50 a piece. Not bad if you're ordering a couple. Anyway, it was my first time and I enjoyed them. I'll be back! Thanks for the great service too! :)

  • L V.

to be honest, i really felt that this place wasn't going to do well ever since krispy kreme opened. i was proven wrong. they help brought cronuts to sacramento (there are a couple other places that offer it as well) and now they ice glazers. nice touch. i prefer conuts over ice glazers. whipped cream and strawberries cronuts are the bomb, but call ahead they sell out of that often. actually i would call ahead to make sure they do have what you want since they are super popular.

So we jumped on the hype and went to check out what Baker's was all about and my GOODNESS. I would eat one every single day if i could!!! We had a few of the regular donuts with different types of ice cream, mine was green tea AND SO DELICIOUS. Definitely don't make it a habit, but I'll be here at least once a month to get a fix!

  • Yang B.

We came a little after the morning rush, so there were no more cronuts left. We were able to put in a order of a dozen and a half and picked it up 2 hours later. The cronuts were fresh and delicious! I'm definitely pre-ordering the next time. They even gave us some extra donuts. Such a great place!

CRONUTS. Not going to lie, the hype is REAL. You would think the cronuts would be an sweetness over 9000. Like an overload. but no. Balances real well. Just GO.

had my first cronut today! A chocolate, almond, and caramel cronut to be exact! So delish. Cronut was flaky and fresh, not too sweet. Will be back again. Thanks Douglas!

Must have went on a bad day are something, have driving by this place for years my regular shop was out of donuts because I was to late getting there so I stopped here they had a small selection so I got the basic glazed and old fashions about a dozen as always I ate one as I was driving home it was the nastiest thing I had ever had spit it out of my truck window tried one more same. Went back to get my money back the girl was so rude I just walked and gave the donuts to a homeless many around back of the place.

Great gourmet donuts! Got the cookie butter and Oreo croissant donuts. Their stuff is always good, but the place looks like it needs some fixing up. Trash is overflowing on the side of building and water is dripping from pipes.

Background Story. . . .When I was in Jr. High my friend use to bring me these large plate size donuts from her family's donut shop, Bakers Donuts. I would make her sandwiches in exchange for the donuts. LOL and we have been exchanging food and eating ever since. So I have been consuming Bakers donuts for a number of years, not going to divulge how many but let's say the number is getting up there. Bakers Donuts has been the same mom and pop shop nestled on Florin Road forever. The service and product has always been stellar. Though Krispy Kreme is now in the spot of the old Tower Records, this does not seem to wave the loyal customers. My more recent trip to Bakers was for the one and only Cronuts that EVERYONE has been raving about! I wanted to treat my staff with some tasty treats for breakfast. I ordered a half dozen of regular donuts and 1/2 dozen of Cronuts (Red Velvet, Bacon Maple, Espresso Maple, and Chocolate Chip). My favorite was the Red Velvet, not too sweet with a nice drizzle of icing. Yummy!!! And please understand though I use to kill sweets when I was young, these days I'm not much of a sweet eater so if I'm loving these Cronuts you will also. Loving all the creativity Bakers is putting into their product to stay in the donut game. Cronuts to Ice Cream Donuts, or just plain regular donuts Bakers is top on my donut list!

Great place! They have a small parking lot and a drive thru. We went in and got an Oreo donut, sugar donut, fruity pebble donut, donut ice cream sandwich with vanilla bean, and a dozen donut holes. All very good (the donut ice cream sandwich was my favorite!) and the lady behind the counter was very nice. I saw a couple other pastries I want to check out next time. All our stuff was just about $7! They take debit/credit with a $0.50 charge.

CRONUTS CRONUTS! CRONUTS! This is probably the smallest business that I have ever reviewed, but it is full of creativity! I came with about 10 other friends and this place was instantly packed (yes, that small). We ordered a dozen of their cronuts (Croissants in the shape of a donut) for $36 with the $6 discount when you check in on yelp. Some of the flavors included, red velvet, chocolate almond, coconut, choc-caramel, maple, etc. IMHO, the flavors were pretty standard with a bit of a step up from ordinary donuts. But it's the texture of the croissant that made it stand out. The light and buttery croissant definitely got my attention. While we were sitting and eating, the owner gave us a free donut sandwich which had 3 scoops of ice cream and a thick donut. The ice cream flavors were Buko Pandan (Filipino dessert with coconut), Mint with oreos?, and Ube (Taro). All of them being very unique and colorful! The service was great! She was very patient with us despite how busy this place got. And even when she was helping other customers, she was very attentive and found time to assist us. Overall, if you're down to try some really interesting cronuts, or have some unique ice cream sandwiches I would recommend this place. It's located right next to an empty Krispy Kreme lot haha! If that's not a good enough sign for you to come here, I don't know what is.

I hate it when people over hype a place. Seems like the cronut craze is still going strong, and when people talk about cronuts in Sac, this place is almost always brought up. Well I'm happy to say that Bakers does live up to the hype. They make a mean cronut. We sampled the cinnamon sugar, maple bacon, the maple espresso, the chocolate almond and the toasted coconut. My hubby liked the choco almond best and my sister preferred the cinnamon sugar. I couldn't decide which one I liked best. I need to go back and try them again! They have a lot of cronut flavors too, as well the ice glaciers, which are donuts filled with the ice cream of your choice. The shop gets pretty busy so it's a good idea to at least have an idea of what you want before you get to the register.

Incredible selection and they tasted amazing! The real highlight here is the service. It was our first time ordering so naturally we asked a lot of questions and he answered all of them and was super nice about it. We ended up ordering 4 of the croissant donuts and he even have us one free! Will definitely be coming back!

I've been a regular fan of Bakers ever since they brought out the croissant donuts and ice cream donuts. Since my first visit, I've been back to try their new flavors, such as the thai tea and green tea glazed donuts, and their summer favorite, the ice glazer! I had my first ice cream donut here at Bakers, before The Parlor came into existence. Both are great in their own ways! What I like about Bakers: the quality of the donut is amazing! Which I think this is how it should be, since they are primarily a donut shop after all. They also put a ton of ice cream inside which I can always appreciate! The only downside can be the lack of options for toppings, but that doesn't affect me because their ice cream and glazed donut are enough to satisfy my sweet tooth. Service is great too. Douglas and his family members that run the shop have always been so nice to us whenever we stop by, always giving us a few extra treats to take home. Bakers will always be the original ice cream donut in my heart! Keep up the good work!

YUM! Best cronuts yet! We had one mission, and it was to get their cronuts! Coming in on a Saturday afternoon I was quite warily of the amount of cronuts they had. Luckily, they still had a good amount of variety left! I got their Cream Cronut and my friend got their Maple Espresso Cronut for the road! We also got their Ice Glazers with Pandan Ice Cream to eat there. The Ice Glazer was really good! It wasn't too sweet surprisingly. The cronuts were also worth the price. It was presented in a nice manner and tasted as good as it looked. I also came back on a different day for their Ube and Thai Tea donuts, since my friends LOVE LOVE LOVE Ube! Sadly, when eating the ube/tt glaze and the donut together, it tasted like a regular glazed donut. The ube/tt flavor only stood out when you eat the glaze by itself. My friends and I were really disappointed. Also, the cereal doesn't help. Yes, it looks pretty and instagrammable, but for taste, it makes the donut so much sweeter, especially the fruitty pebble topping was way too overpowering. They said they generally only make plain Ube/TT/GT glazed donuts on the weekends and on the weekdays they have the cereal topped ones. Personally, will come back for cronuts and ice glazers, not so sure about their Ube/Thai Tea glazed donuts.

I had to come check out Bakers Donuts ice cream donuts! Given that these are all the new rage I have taken it upon myself to try out all of the ones I can find in the Sacramento area. The exterior of Bakers Donuts is dismal. If I hadn't read the reviews and been with a friend I wouldn't have stopped. There is ample parking given the size of the place which was nice. The interior is small with limited seating (I want to say two tables) and could use a good scrub and paint job. The employee who helped my friend and I was really friendly and helpful. She gave us samples of the ice cream so that we could make an educated decision (and since we didn't know what 3/4's of the names were). All the flavors were delicious and would have been good by themselves. I decided to go with the Ube and Pandon flavors inside of the glazed donut (the purple of green ice cream colors you see in the photos). The end result ended up being an ice cream doughnut sandwich which was pretty good but messy to eat. This bakery is also known for their Cronuts which I had been hoping to try, but by the time we got here (around 3 pm) the selection of pastries was extremely limited. In the end we enjoyed our treat and had a fun trip going here. I've had better, but would return here. Hopefully if I visit again they will have a lot more pastries in stock for me to try.

BEST place to go to for donuts/cronuts in sacramento! Cronuts are amazing and so worth it! Ive tried Red velvet cronut, maple bacon cronut, blue hippo, green tea with fruity pebbles, and the cookie butter cronut. I like the red velvet and maple bacon donut the most. I couldnt really taste the green tea in the green tea donut- it just tasted like a regular donut to me. But definetly try the cronuts if you visit!

So good. I've been dreaming about coming here for a while, and while on a family road trip to Lake Tahoe I made it happen. Red velvet cronut: my favorite! All the best parts of red velvet cake on a cronut. The cream cheese drizzle was amazing. Maple bacon cronut: this tasted like straight breakfast. My husband ordered this one, and usually not one for sweets, he loved it. It's super super bacon-y so not for the faint of heart. Ube fruity pebbles donut: delicious glaze but a little too sweet. I liked the cronuts better. Giant plain glazed: for some reason, this was the best donut of my box. My brother chose this one and we laughed at him (it's the size of your head) but the texture of the donut itself was impeccable and so fresh and the glaze was amazing. Also, one of these big boys is actually cheaper than a cronut. Guava cream cheese croissant: this was one of their limited specialities of the day. The croissant dough itself was nothing to write home about but the filling was to die for. Really really strong and fruity guava flavor. Customer service was also really good. The young lady who helped us (didn't get her name) was extremely helpful and pleasant even at 6AM on a Sunday. She took her time explaining all the donuts available and even threw in a free one. She also didn't give us any grief for my husband's service dog which unfortunately happens often at mom and pop shops. Bottom line, I ate 6 donuts in one day. I don't want to see a donut for a long time but I'd definitely come back here once my stomach forgets ;)

BD needs to start branching out so that other people can try their amazing ice-cream donuts! The only one I know of is the one in Sacramento. A small maroon and yellow store, can't miss it! It's funny because it's also located right next to Krispy Kreme, but I personally would much rather come by here. The glazed donuts with ube ice cream and fruity pebbles is a MUST TRYYY! The glazed donut is sweet, but the ube ice cream complements it so it's not ridiculously sweet! Adding the fruity pebbles gives it a nice crunchy texture. The service here is good too- they're friendly and laid-back. Super helpful with suggestions on what to order. The cashier even gave us a free donut just because! Might have to come early in the morning for those cronuts because they sell out fast!

Growing up poor, we never had Klondike Bars readily available in the freezer, so instead my siblings and I would make ourselves ice cream sandwiches in between plain white bread. Gotta work with what you got, right? It may not sound like much, but those sandwiches were KILLER. I can't help but smile when I remember those simple days. An ice cream sandwich from Bakers Donuts evokes that simple happiness. It's so simple, yet innovative. Ube + pandan (coconut) ice cream nestled in between a warm, glazed donut = Amazingness. If you're ever in the Sac area, don't forget to make a stop here.

If you haven't tried a cronut (donut+croissant), please please PLEASE do yourself a favor and pay Baker's Donuts a visit. After all the buzz surrounding the cronut, I yelped bakeries around me and noticed this little gem. Everything that you've heard about their cronuts is not exaggeration; it lives up to its hype! Word of advice: call ahead and place your order for cronuts. They are made to order! Even if you want one, that's perfectly fine. Outstanding customer service! I had the cronut filled with whipped cream, sliced strawberries, and drizzled with chocolate sauce. It was the best thing I put in my mouth in a long time (that's what she said HAHAHA). But all jokes aside, it was seriously delicious. The croissant was very crisp, yet soft.. The most perfect crunch ever! My bf had the maple bacon, which he enjoyed very much. I'm looking forward to trying all of their cronuts in the near future. Can't recommend this place enough!

All you have to know is that THE HYPE IS REAL! I thought I had my favorite, local donut shop figured out, but I was definitely wrong. I never tried their croissant donuts, but I've had their other ones and DAMN, they are the fluffiest donuts I have ever had. Their flavors are unique without being "too sweet," or "too much" like how I would normally describe their competitor's donuts from across the way. Go!

How was this place written up in the Sac Bee?! Shop itself was pretty dirty. Saw a fly on the INSIDE of the donut case. Barely had any donuts left when I was there. Sold us a cronut without telling us it was a cronut. Cronut was not good. Got a donut from Krispy Kreme across the street afterwards. I am all about supporting the mom & pop shops, but it just didn't even seem like this place was trying all that hard (except for the Instagram blitz and the recent press). We walked in and there was only one woman working the counter, and as we walked in she walked to the back, out of sight, to make three of the ice cream donut sandwiches for another customer (but we didn't know this at the time) and we must've waited for 5-10 minutes for her to come back out. Huge disappointment, as I was very excited to try this place and drove about 20 minutes just for Bakers...not worth it.

CRONUT!! Emphasis on caps and the exclamation points. So I had this a few days ago and let's just say give me more. It's a croissant based dough made into a donut. Light, airy, buttery, great crunch everything you ever wanted in a croissant but in a donut. I had the maple bacon and after one bite I was upset I didn't buy more. I tried the other flavor a like maple espresso, cookie butter, toasted almond and all were delicious. They are pricey but well worth it IMO. If CRONUTs aren't tickling your taste buds they also have other specialty glazed donuts with fruity pebbles, Reese's, Oreo mint, Thai tea and ube. You can make it into an ice cream sandwich. If your a purist and go for the basics, the standard donuts are great and they often put a few of those in any order with a small discount. Great owners, great donuts, and innovative. Go nuts for CRONUTS at Bakers donuts

Although I'm currently unable to indulge in their amazing cronuts or ice glazers at the moment #dietlife (Dont ask why I used a hashtag), any other time I've been there has been nothing short of awesome. Service is friendly and donuts taste as amazing as they look.

Time magazine named the Cronut as one of the 25 best inventions last year. I'm lucky enough to live relatively close to a location that not only sells it, but more importantly, does it right! Second time here. I can't seem to get away from all the craze with their creative cronuts. The pictures look too awesome for me not to stop by and see them again in person. I finally caved in. "Donut" judge me.. This croissant-doughnut pastry is such a simple, yet clever idea. Every time I see or hear about it I always have that "Why didn't I think of it first?!?" moment. Then all I can do is ponder long enough to establish a craving that I can't resist. The urge is too strong! This particular location is awesome because they carry a lot of different flavors that are so unique and tasty. I was a bit hesitant, but during this visit I decided why not give their Maple Bacon Cronut a shot -- it was scrumptious :) Get it when you have the chance! The lady gave me two free donuts for no reason. Same thing happened during the first visit. Small gestures like that are unnecessary but don't go unnoticed. I appreciate the effort they put in their service and hospitality. They go above and beyond. Great employees and delicious donuts!

So...my friend brought me here for my birthday and I was not disappointed! An Ice Cream Donut Sandwich is the BEST type of dessert for this Birthday Girl!! The donut selection was also great considering how small the location is. The only lost point is for the appearance...if I wasn't with someone, I'd probably hesitate before coming here along. A little elbow grease to clean the place up and make it shine would go a long way... ...but lets be honest, we're not coming here for the ambience!

Came here due to the rave reviews about the cronuts and it sure was worth it! The cronut tasted amazing! Tried the maple espresso cronut and it was soft, buttery, and tasted super fresh. The only downside to the cronut was that it was a bit too rich for me. If I'm ever in the area, will definitely stop by again.

Had to go and see what all the craze was about....and now I understand lol. Ughhh so good! Everything there is delicious so it's hard to decide what to get without buying the whole place out. My favorite is the pandan/ube ice cream donut! The staff is great! Very patient and nice. I highly recommend that you come early in the morning because they run out fast. An even better idea is call ahead to see if they have things in stock.

Cronuts. They are just ridonkulously delicious. I've been meaning to come out to this location to try their version of cronuts after having my first one close to SF. It was a semi cheat day...but we ended up walking away with 15 donuts. Wth?!?!?! And no, I did not eat all 15. Haha. We pretty much ordered one of each kind ranging from glazed to sugar to maple espresso to maple bacon to red velvet and many, many more. Quick tip: heat up the cronut for a few seconds prior to devouring. You won't be disappointed. They range around $4 each...a little on the expensive side but hey, so worth it every once in awhile. Their new item? Ube and pandan ice cream stuffed glazed donut. Omg...after a bite, there were hearts floating over my head. Delicious. You must try it. Also, the peeps who work there are super friendly...even threw in a free cronut for us. 5+ stars...amazingness.

Absolute FAVORITE donut shop! I live in midtown and I typically don't leave the grid (stereotypical). I discovered this place when my roommate and I were craving something sweet after our adventure to ecothrift. So we just happened to see a donut shop near by... I am so thankful we made this pit stop. BEST DISCOVERY EVER! The staff is so friendly! There is always a happy face even if it's at 5:30 in the morning :) I recently surprised my coworkers with a dozen donuts this past week and they FELL IN LOVE! Fruity pebbles, Oreos and Reese's in a donut?! Say whaaaaaaa? You guys rock!

Finally got to visit this establishment today. I was impressed to say the least! Great customer service to go along with the great tasting food. I tried their ham and cheese croissant and it was pretty good. Freshly baked croissant with melted, cheeses goodness.

I was disappointed and unimpressed. Don't think I'll return. Finally decided to stop by here to check out the place that had great-looking cronuts, ube cake donuts, and ice cream glazers. From 65th, you can barely see the sign because of the trees! Oh and yes, Krispy Kreme is literally right across the street from them! Such a tiny donut shop, I thought with all the media hype it would be busy. Then again, I did swing by on an early Sunday afternoon. Of course all the ube cake donuts were all out. Actually there was a lady ahead of me in line who preordered practically all of the remaining cronuts. There was one pair of customers dining in but it's a really small place, seemed very old (definitely showing age). Could use an update and a clean, more spacious area if you want more customers to stay or at least have a nicer place to stand in line. The ice cream glazers (ice cream sandwiched between glazed donut halves, most popular are Magnolia brand ube or pandan ice creams) were available but honestly that's too much going on for even my sweet tooth -- would rather have an ube milkbar popsicle or Loard's ube ice cream, no glazed donut needed. I sorta got over my C.R.E.A.M. fix, downgrading from the full cookie ice cream sandwich to a 1/2 sandwich to just the ice cream single scoop or single cookie, haha. Anyway, the last flavor cronut (croissant donut) left was chocolate almond and the guy who rang me up was nice, paid cash ($3.50) for the one cronut. It was a decent size upon first look, and I'm sure there are much more flavors to choose from normally, but I bought this one just for the heck of sampling it, and crossing "cronut" off my foodie list. First bite though...very sweet chocolate icing and caramel drizzle over the almond slices, but the cronut wasn't warm or anything (probably sitting in the back after being fried) and the texture I was expecting more flaky and light like a croissant. This, however, was tough to bite all the way through and not dense but chewing it reminded me of the texture of those Filipino donuts (bitso-bitso) without the crunch of a freshly fried one. Understandable coming from a Filipino-run donut shop but honestly, I was wanting this first cronut experience to be buttery, fluffy, sweet, a little crispy on the outside, and rich. Heck, even Goldilock's ensaymada brioche is flakier! On my way home I noticed that Jack in the Box now sells cinnamon-sugar croissant donuts, guys, $1.99 for three pieces as part of their breakfast menu. Now I don't usually promote fast food, and I will gladly spend $4-$5 for a really awesome dessert (Rick's, Ettores, etc.) and have even splurged on some unhealthy sweets (deep-fried Oreos and funnel cake at the State Fair, senorita bread) but in all cases were much more satisfying than this. Sorry Bakers, I truly do enjoy supporting local shops, and fellow Filipinos, but I did not enjoy your cronut. Not worth the hunt, maybe I'll go back to shaved snow.

Bakers is one of the few places in Sacramento that has began to offer their version of the Cronut. The place is rather small and a tad bit run down but their donuts definitely make up for it. With Krispy Kreme literally right next door, this mom and pop donut shop has to up their ante and offer something more unique. Not only are they serving cronuts, but they are also now offering cronut/donut ice cream sandwiches. I have yet to try one! This was my first ever cronut and it was delicious! It was really flaky, much like a croissant, but something about it aside from the shape also made it a donut...? I tried the bacon maple and red velvet. I think I favored the red velvet a bit more but both were really good. They have superb customer service. My friend and I called in to make sure they had some left before walking in. A guy picked up and answered our questions very politely and even offered to reserve a couple cronuts for us. Apparently they run out really quickly, so I suggest calling ahead to reserve a few before going in. I would recommend putting Bakers on your food list if you haven't been here before!

Baker's Donuts is a fine example of the old adage, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." The exact same day that someone told me about this place, which serves ice cream donut sandwiches, I found myself driving there after work as if pulled by an invisible thread. I think I was intrigued because I've driven by the nondescript little shack in South Sac dozens of times without even thinking about it. One time I even parked across the street to buy a box of Krispy Kreme donuts instead--oh, the shame. The good: This tiny family-owned spot has a wide assortment of delicious cronuts, although the pickings were slim by the time I got there. I got a chocolate almond cronut and the flavor was awesome, even at 6pm at night. The let-down: I was more excited for, and thus less satisfied by, the ube ice cream filled donut I also brought home. Separately, the two things are great. The donut was deliciously crusted with a nice sugar glaze. The ice cream is the Magnolia brand, which can be found in the freezers of Asian supermarkets, and is well known for using milk and quality ingredients. But together, it may have been too much of two good things, like a pair of divas fighting to be the star and in the process failing to deliver a great duet. That said, I reserve the right to return for another tasting and review. Good to know: Don't be scared by the unusual rainbow of ice cream colors available, including: Purple = Ube, a purple yam common in Filipino food. It has a rich, fatty flavor. Green = Pandan, a SE Asian plant. Like vanilla, it is used in extract form for baking. It's aromatic, sweet, and exotic. They also carry donuts with other ice cream flavors depending on the season and customer demand. And in the evening hours, they have discounts for a dozen of their regular donuts. Will I return? YES. So many other flavors are begging to be tried. Never again will I be lured in to the shiny big building across the street.

I came, I saw, and yes, I cronutted. Since I dropped in during the afternoon, the small shop was not crowded whatsoever, and to my delight, they still had plenty of the hyped up cronuts. I ordered red velvet, maple bacon (yes, there's bacon pieces on top!), glazed and cinnamon sugar. The lady behind the counter also threw in a free donut for buying 4 which was a nice surprise. When I brought these back to my office, I cut them up for folks to try and all I heard was MMMMMMM, and OH MY GOD, and YES! I thought I was at the deli in When Harry Met Sally. They match up to the hype. They are flaky on the inside but have a good chew like a donut on the outside and are sweet and dreamy like everybody says. They are more expensive than a donut, but really who cares! Located near the old DMV office on florin, a krispy kreme, and such, so not exactly a sparkling spot. But don't let that HOT DONUTS NOW sign draw you away from this local business. This is really where it's at!

Best cronuts! If you don't know what those are you're missing out. It's a cronut into a donut. My favorite it the maple glazed bacon one. Omg! I'd say a bit pricey honestly. I think $3.50 for one! But pretty worth it. So good. And the owners are nice people. Sometimes they even give you free donuts! :)

Called around 7am on a weekday to reserve Ube ice glazers. Lady said they're out of ube until Wednesday or Thursday? Weird. Ok what flavors do you have? Pandan and Green Tea. Alright, while i'm on the phone can I also reserve cronuts? No, we'll have some when you come in. So, we go in. The lady makes us our Green Tea and Pandan glazers. They were yummy. Really wished they had Ube though, it should be announced that they will have certain flavors available certain days. Had to wait 30 min for cronuts to be made, that's fine. Ordered the red velvet and the oreo/coookies and cream one. When they finally came out they were fresh and warm, initially they messed up and tried to give me a maple/bacon one but i didn't hold that against them, mistakes happen. Also, since we were there, ordered a 4 pack of 2 ube glazed, one thai tea glazed, and one green tea glazed donut. TOTAL, spent $19.90 for 2 ice glazers, 2 cronuts, and 4 glazed donuts. Not too bad. The people are nice. I kinda felt bad because someone came in right after us and wanted a glazer, and the other lady told him the only flavor they had was vanilla, which was weird because we JUST finished eating our pandan and green tea ones. I don't know if that was true or if the staff just isn't communicating with each other. Oh and like someone else mentioned, they do not tell you it costs 50 cents to use debit, you kinda just find out once you receive your receipt...

Had a dozen best sellers ordered from bakers donuts and sent down with a good friend!!! Awesome service, great interaction through social media. Bakers is awesome. Ordered a dozen and there were 6 more Specialty donuts sent as a bonus in a separate box. I had to say the Reese's PB donut with the cup in the middle of the fluffy donut was one of the best I've ever had. Not over the top sweet or caked on frosting, super fluffy, and just enough PB taste and chocolate. Fruity pebbles cereal donut came pretty close as well. Cronuts are good, little heavy for me, but the concept is super legit. Keep up the good work guys!!!

This is maybe my fourth time coming to Baker's Donuts since I'm from the bay so I don't get to come here that often. The first couple of times I went they were great however yesterday wasn't so up to par. Since I knew they sell out quickly of the cronut's I made an order two days in advance. However taking the order was made a bit more difficult than it should be. I tried calling multiple times but no one would answer and when I finally got someone to answer they told me to call back in another 5 minutes. So when I called back the lady on the phone gave me a random number to call so that person can take my order instead, keep in mind this number was not listed anywhere on yelp nor on Instagram, it felt like it was maybe a workers cellphone number. Before I went and picked up the cronut's I called the location to let them know that I may be running late. I did this so they won't think I wasn't going to show up and sell my cronut's. Funny thing is the lady had no idea what my order was. I gave her my name but nope nothing. I was furious at this point because they lost my order and I had to reorder them. I'm not sure if this was because it was lost due to me having to call this strange number or if they often mishandle orders like this. Once I came to finally pick up my order I was more disappointed. They didn't have my order ready and they asked me what my order was again. So I just assumed at this point they didn't even prepare my order at all. I had to wait an additional maybe 10 minutes for my cronuts. So what's the point of ordering ahead of time if they're just going to forget your order and not be prompt about it? Finally after this whole fiasco, I got to taste the cronut. I haven't had one in maybe a year and I was pretty excited about it because I remembered how amazing they were. I took a bite of the Oreo, cinnamon cookie butter, red velvet cronut, and the apple fritter. Let me tell you this, last year cronut, totally better than the ones I tasted today. The experience wasn't all that I hoped for. The cronuts were beyond oily and not soft at all. Even after microwaving it still tasted like oil and was crispy. To be honest I don't think I'll be back for more after this experience. If I'm going to pay $3.50 for a cronut I expect the taste to be consistent. I don't want to be tasting a mouth full of oil and no cronut.

This place was super busy when my family and I came. The owners were patient with our orders, it being our first time going to Bakers Donuts. They didn't have anymore Blue Hippo donuts but they were very flexible and made me one. Their specialty donuts are so fluffy and filling. The Blue Hippo also had a subtle minty taste to it but I didn't think it was amazing like everyone said it is. I would definitely recommend the Ube (or Taro) donut. The purple glaze has a subtle taro flavor but the coconut shavings topped it all off. The Reese's donut is really good too. It has a peanut butter filling. Overall, I think their style is cool and the quality of their donuts are good but they're not 'to die for'.

What was the franchise owner of Krispy Kreme thinking when he/she/they decided to open across from Bakers? So foolish and naive. I finally went to this place after ogling so many pictures on their Instagram. The ice glazers were all really delicious. Trust me, I'm from the internet. More importantly, I'm from Orange County where Afters Donuts is located, which I believe started this whole donut and ice cream craze on the Best coast (reluctantly I know that NYC started all the donut trends, with Dominique Ansel's cronuts and Peter Pan Donuts or Holey Cream with the donut ice cream sandwich). Unlike Afters' sickeningly sweet concoctions, Bakers' sandwiches are paired more wisely. The eastern Asian ice cream flavors are at the right level of sweetness to be paired with any donut. Ube, Thai tea, and green tea - all so yum! The service is fantastic; the folks behind the counter are totally friendly and chill, even when it gets busy. Once I ordered a bear claw and ham and cheese croissant - both great, as you'd expect from any non-specialty donut shop - and the older lady threw in a chocolate cake donut totally gratis. I didn't know she did, because she was muttering about this quietly. I did not even get to properly thank her. If you ever read this, I love you and I want to marry your donuts. I have never been able to try their cronuts since I come here in the afternoon. The lady suggested I call in and reserve an order, since they run out so fast. Until we meet again, Bakers.

Drove an hour to this donut heaven. Pulling up to the shop, it looked sketch bc the parking lot was empty and their were some people loitering outside. Looks are deceiving. The lovely scent of freshly made donuts combined with the sight of the display case...omg. We ordered a dz of croissant donuts. Terry (terri...teri) was an absolute sweetheart. She handled the counter abs drive thru like a boss. She even took pics with us holding 12 pieces of soon-to-be-eaten perfection. The croissant donuts survived the hr drive home without being eaten. I semi threatened my bro and sister in law to ditch school to participate in a the gluttony of tasting all the flavors with us. Ohhh they lived up to our expectations! Check in for $6 off a dz. Enjoy.

This place makes a heavenly maple bacon cronut. Highly recommend. They were out of cronuts when I got there, but they were making more and I only had to wait 10 minutes it was worth the wait. I will be coming back here often. P.S. There was a Krispy kreme employee waiting to buy some cronuts.

This place might look sketch, but don't let that scare you away! It's really a nice mom & pop shop with awesome, unique flavors. I tried out a bunch of the donuts/cronuts as well as the Fruity Pebble Thai Tea Icy Glazer, but my personal fave is the green tea donut! I personally thought the Thai Tea ice cream flavor was kind of weak, but I would still recommend this place if you're looking something awesome to try in Sacramento.

This is such a small little shop that you would drive by it, but it has such a great reputation from my friends that I knew I had to try it. It is run by a Hmong family I believe. Didn't disappoint. Bought a dozen croissant donuts for a quick potluck treat, asked them to just get me a mix (I was in a rush), and they choose a beautiful assortment of flavors, and gave me a couple spare donuts for the road. The prices are affordable and the customer service is great. Everyone went home happy.

Wow I can't believe how highly this donut shop is rated. I found out about this place through Instagram and was intrigued by the pictures I saw. Let's just say that the pictures are a lot better than the actual product. Let's talk about the store and location. It's off Florin Rd and as anyone around here can tell you it's not the best part of town. There were a bunch of bums in their parking lot. It really scared me and my girlfriend. We have never been approached by so many. I DONT recommend coming here alone or when it's dark out. Now on to the store... The inside of the store looked so dirty and completely killed my appetite. Everything looked like it was from a Wendy's from the 1970s and never updated or replaced. I'm cringing thinking about how dirty it was inside. The cronuts were mediocre at best. They were extremely oil and not flakey like others I've had. The ice cream donuts were lackluster. They literally just cut a donut in half and put a scoop of ice cream in it. They don't seal it or heat it up and don't taste fresh at all. The ube ice cream is bought from the grocery store... Which explains itself! Also they charge $.50 for credit card fees? Who still does that? Incorporate that into your prices or something. Bottom line I was very disappointed with the place and their donuts. I wouldn't recommend this to my friends and you won't me see me going back. If you do I recommend bringing mace or something to protect yourself. It really surprises me how highly they are rated but it's probably because they give free stuff for 5 star reviews.

I actually liked their doughnut better than their Cronut. I had such high expectations, the Cronut was hard to cut not soft at all, defiantly not impressed. It was okay I got there in the afternoon so maybe that's why. I will try again earlier to see if I could get something fresher, the pictures of their specialty donuts look so good :) I want to try the green tea

6/21/2015: Deanna Jaxine Stinson and I - stopped by this place after seeing one of their delicacies in the Sacramento News & Review. We ordered the doughnut ice cream dessert. Sure it was good and it's an original idea, but this is something you can do at home and save a lot of money. I spent $10.53 for 2 of these doughnut ice cream sandwiches. It's a doughnut cut in half with ice cream shoved inside. Right next door to this establishment is Krispy Kreme. I thought it was odd that this place which serves doughnuts would be next to Krispy Kreme. There were fireman outside on one of their tables. The fireman made a courtesy fire inspection. The place gets cramped up, there are things piled up in the back. It reminded me of a cluttered garage. The roof of this establishment has seen better days. If a fire were to get started in this place, it would instantly burn to the ground. After having our doughnut ice cream sandwiches, I was ready for Raging Waters today. This was the rest of our day, after Raging Waters, we ate at A&W, then picked up Princess Hannah and Hi-Pee and took them to Wal-Marts and then walked them at Zimbleman Park. Deanna rode her bike around the neighborhood. Now that you know about our Sunday, here is what we did on Saturday.....enjoy! forums.jazmaonline.com/t…

Super fluffy fresh tasting donuts! Fun toppings and cronuts too. Don't let the location or building scare you away.

This place is donut heaven, there is a great selection as well as your favorite beverage to wash it down. The thing that sets Baker's apart from the typical donut shop is their awesome creativity. They have the most original and delicious donut flavors you can find anywhere in the greater Sacramento area, maybe even all of California, maybe even the US! If you are worried about making the trip cause it's a little far away, don't be, you won't be disappointed. The world class donuts are well worth it. Only tip: if you have your heart set on a specific flavor, get there early, like 5-6 am early, or call a day ahead because they are so popular they typically sell out. Almost forgot, the donut ice cream sandwiches art also AMAZING and a must try.

This place is amazing. While the Krispy Kreme next door sits empty this place is busy. The family that runs/owns it is awesome and friendly. Fantastic treats abound! Not your Daddy's Donuts! Do yourself a favor and try the specialty line. I got a red velvet and dude, there aren't words.

My first time here I tried the dozen assorted cronuts. They're amazing and FRESH. A bit pricey but it's okay. The service is awesome. They're so nice. The cronuts sell out fast so call ahead. And the store is very small so it may get crowded. Id definitely come back though.

Yummy! The ice glazed was so good! The staff is really friendly and will offer all types of suggestions. Plus they gave me a dozen donut holes for free. I was not expecting that.

One of the two best places for donuts in Sacramento. Seriously so scrumptious. Always fresh. The family is always helpful and nice when I can't decide what to choose. And they're open til 8 p.m.! I'm here at least once a week for breakfast....or a snack.

With all the great looking pictures and raving reviews we decided to come for dessert. Complete disappointment! Arriving at the location which wasn't the best looking and not in the greatest area. We came from an hour away and arrived a little before 5pm just to find 3 ordinary cinnamon donuts. The server could care less either just told us to come back tomorrow. But I'm confused on why advertise donuts and being open until 8pm but don't have any?! Or even as far as having a drive thru window?! Location is open from 4am to 8pm but doesn't bake donuts daily. Seems odd. Waste of time and gas. :(

Heard all about the cronut craze a while back and when I heard Baker's Donuts had them, I had to get my hands on some since I love them donuts probably more than Homer Simpson and two plump cops in a patrol car in the wee hours combined. Lol. The place is on Florin Rd across from Sears so it's pretty ghetto. Watch out for those camouflage bums!!! Just playing. I ordered the coconut and glazed cronut and they definitely looked delightful but it didn't induce a foodgasm. The cronuts were flaky but they were also very very oily. For 2.50 each they were not amazing or anything. Bummer. I'll stick to the regular glazed donuts.

Best cronuts in Sacramento. Worth the trip to South Sacramento. If you live here like me, then you are in trouble due to the easy access. Gotta have the maple bacon, it's a must. Espresso makes you want a good cup of coffee. And nothing is wrong with the original glazed. Not just a donut, a cronut! Support a great family owned business. Better than the chain donut store that opened across the street.

I absolutely love the "regular" donuts here! This is always a stop for me when heading to Sacramento. I'm king of glad there isn't one closer cause i'd probably be picking up donuts everyday! I'm a simple gal, i like maple bars and the maple bars here are DELICIOUS! It isn't just a sugary lackluster glaze (like most donut places). This one actually tastes like MAPLE! The cronuts are ok. Like i said i'm a simple girl so these were a little much for me. However, I do encourage you to try at least one.

Soooo.... Wanted to see what's this big craze about Cronuts. Since I was in the area, I decided to drop on by on a "Sunday afternoon" - Lighter shade of Brown. The parking lot is oddly shaped yet managed to park right infront of the store (making my own spot). Lol! Walked inside and noticed the two workers were hustling back and forth taking orders from the drive thru window and in the store. They don't have Cronuts posted on their menu but when i asked them, they whip out their ipad and showed me pictures of their variety and different flavors. The guy said they have the biggest selection compared to other Cronut spots and I believe him because he showed me about a dozen of different types. So here's my order (yes I'm a fatty): Plain glazed: Cronut dipped in a white glaze. You can never go wrong with plain glaze as it's delicious. Red velvet: Sprinkled red velvet sugar with a light white glaze. Pretty good if you're a red velvet fan. Bacon maple: Generous pieces of crumbled bacon pieces with a nice maple glaze to hold the bacon on top of the Cronut. The brown sugar taste from maple makes it taste even better. Nutella with cinnamon sugar: sprinkled cinnamon sugar all around the donut with a zigzag drizzle of Nutella. I love Nutella (no homo) and the cinnamon sugar complements it perfectly. Espresso maple: glazed maple with espresso powder tossed on top. Great Cronut if your an espresso lover as this is a little strong. My favorite, Nutella cinnamon sugar, bacon maple and plain glaze. Yes I couldn't narrow it down to just one because they were all so CroLicious!!! I'll definitely make a couple of more rounds here to try the other different types for the experience. FYI, be prepared to bring a few extra dollars because you pay the price for Goodness.

I went through the drive through because the line was too long I waited at least 10 minutes before someone came to the window to take my order I had to pass three donuts because they did not have them in the middle of the day the fruity pebble one however was amazing hopefully next time I go they will have the maple bacon and the Oreo

Always drove past this place before the Krispy Kreme across the street opened up. I really hate generic donuts like the ones sold by KK, too sweet for me. I'm a fan of family owned and local business donuts so I knew this place was gonna be good. The sister had been bugging me to try cronuts and found out this place had them. It's such a great idea and their donuts were so yummy. Customer service was super friendly and informative, he was very sweet and even gave us extra donuts! :)

I have only been here twice but their donuts are really good! We usually pick up a dozen because we have a big family. The staff is really friendly and they seem to really like dogs. They have a wide selection of donuts and cronuts. Believe the hype.

  • Katelyn P.

My friend and I came here for the second time and tried the glazed donut with ube ice cream! Once again we loved it (last time we got cronuts)! The donuts are so fluffy and the ice cream/donut combo was perfect!

This local bake shop has been around for years! Cronuts were awesome! The dough is perfectly flakey and buttery! Cinnamon sugar, OG glazed, red velvet, maple bacon and chocolate cookie butter is what we ordered. My favs were chocolate cookie butter, red velvet and maple bacon ( this one is really rich and the bacon is perfect!) This is also a 24hr donut shop! Krispy Kreme is right next door but I would def choose bakers donuts over them anyday!

Amazing! The location is pretty cramp BUT the food and serve is amazing. I had the maple Bacon Cronnut and a hot chocolate. I can't wait to go back.

Amazing cookie butter cronuts!I haven tried any other flavors but I definitely look to trying them all.

  • Victoria B.

Skip Krispy Kreme! This place is so much better and the donuts are too diabeticly sweet. I know this place might not look the prettiest, I mean lets just be honest, it looks like a dump but you have to try it lol. It's really worth the try because you'll never go back to Krispy Kreme. Customer service is always great too. They messed up my order on a dozen cronuts once and gave me the entire doze for 50% off and a free cake donut too!!! Very sweet people, whenever I come for some donuts or donut holes they always treat me with an additional free donut.

If you're in search of some good cronuts, Bakers Donuts is the place to go. While most cronut places either sell out fast or are mediocre in taste, Bakers Donuts does well at both. As long as you call ahead in the morning, you can reserve your cronuts and pick them up at the time you specify. Both times I've done this (once on a weekday and once on a weekend) I picked up my order just fine, without any problems. The cronuts themselves are huge, flaky and delicious. They have an assorted variety of flavors: plain sugar, red velvet, mocha, chocolate chip, Oreo mint... My personal favorite is the maple bacon, a definite "must try"! Two thumbs way up for the super friendly staff too. Both times I've gone they hooked us up with some sort of freebie (a bag of donut holes or an extra cronut). The girl that helped me was nice enough to even remind me that if I checked in on Yelp, I would get a $6 discount on my order. Oh, and don't be turned off by the location being a little sketchy (ex. a bum started peeing in front of us right when we parked during our last visit). Just make sure you lock your car doors and watch your back and you'll be on your way with your yummy goodies!

Their cronuts can last a few days and still taste the same - mine lasted 3 days. I love their Oreo icecream donuts. The mint icecream with the Oreos are just fantastic. I will probably come just for the icecream. I haven't tasted any icecream like this anywhere. I finally tried their donuts with oreo ontop with the blue icing and its not as good as the icecream mint oreo. It kind of tastes like toothpaste. Overall, I think I'm done with with their special donuts and sticking to their icecream donuts. -T

I love their unique ice cream and the delicious donut is an added bonus. It takes a good donut shop to stay in business with Krispy Kreme as their neighbor. The blue hippo with fruity pebbles is my favorite :)

I've driven past this place many times but never stopped in since I've often seen sketchy people outside. My girlfriend heard they recently started selling cronuts & ice cream donuts so we decided to give it a try. We walk in and quickly notice how old & a bit dirty the establishment was. I'm all for hole in the wall restaurants so I brushed it off in hopes the food would make up for the lack of cleanliness. WRONG! They didn't have many cronuts to choose from and I overheard they often run out of ice cream donuts. I guess we got "lucky" since we were able to order a bacon cronut & an ube flavored topped with fruity pebbles "ice glazer". After we took a bite of each, we realized we weren't so lucky. The cronut didn't taste fresh but instead tasted extremely oily. Maybe the bacon on top seeped down to the cronut causing it to become extra oily? Onto the ice glazer which looked like something you could literally make at home. We were super disappointed and realized there was nothing special to it at all. The glaze was flaking off from the donut with just a scoop of ice cream plopped in between and barely any cereal. Not worth the money in my opinion!

Omg! Diamond in the rough! This is the most delicious donut place ive ever been to! Watch out krispy kreme coz this place got nothing on you! The have all sort of crounuts and donuts. If you ever in Sacramento (south) come check out this place, will not disappoint, trust me! Come early or call in their crounuts go fast! Try their donuts with ice cream! Glazed donut with ube ice cream is the bomb!

Yum yum yum in my Tum Tum Tum!! This place has delicious donuts for cheap. They even have CRONUTS!!! I've heard so much about cronuts. I was sad that I'd have to travel so far to try them but thankfully this donut shop actually makes them. One bite and WOW...My mouth was in heaven. You must try the cronuts!! All of the favors are delicious. This donut shop is quite small but the owners are awesome. They really do appreciate their customers.

Thank you Krispy Kreme's! If it weren't for your BIG fresh donuts sign, I would have totally missed this DONUT GEM! YOU GO Baker's Donuts! Let the big corporation do all the advertisement for you because you are doing everything right! After driving by and noticing the irony of TWO donut shops side by side, I went home and yelped Baker's Donuts and to my surprise I discovered BAKER'S had CRONUTS! I finally was able to try one today for the first time and I have never tried anything like it! I mean I've had my fair share of the cronut dopes. BUT what set these cronuts a part from the others was the TEXTURES AND THE TASTE. I picked up a Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chip cronut and it was so light, fluffy and buttery, but crunchy flaky goodness on the outside. I stopped by around 11am and although it was not piping hot I still thoroughly enjoyed it. The kind gentlemen who helped us out was so very kind and he looked very proud of his work and all the happiness he was bringing to the community. He was kind enough to not charge us for the donut holes that we bought with our purchase. Don't let the exterior of this little donut shop deter you from trying their cronuts and donuts. Let the donuts speak for themselves! They don't need a BIG FLASHING SIGN to draw me in because I know now every time I drive by this donut shop on Florin I'm going to have to resist the temptation of grabbing a dozen.

First time ever at Baker's and it was also my first time trying these hyped up cronuts... and yes, they are as delicious as they look! My boyfriend and I showed up around 10 am on a tuesday and got a dozen of variety cronuts. The guy that was helping us out was super friendly, we chatted for a few minutes and he even threw in some free donuts! My all time favorite cronut would have to be the toasted coconut, I don't have a big sweet tooth and that was a perfect level of sweetness PLUS I LOVED COCONUT! The reason for me not giving them 5 stars is because when choosing from the different cronuts that they offer, it isn't super clear on what they have and don't have that day. Especially for a first-timer like me, it was a bit confusing and hard too pick what I wanted and what my options were.

OMG cronuts *drool* After my friend posted a picture of the cronuts from here, I had to try this place. I decided to order a dozen for a work meeting anyways so I went in a day ahead to order. Came in at 9am the next morning and my cronuts were all waiting for my coworkers and I to devour. If you aren't calling in to reserve, they finish preparing their cronuts around 9am so get here around that time or you will come out empty cronut-handed :( I got every flavor but only tried two - Red Velvet and Nutella. Their amazeballs. You must try it. Also, they travel very well and still retain that crispiness throughout the day.

We came here because of the cronuts and honestly they are over-rated. We got the maple bacon and red velvet cronut. The texture of the cronut was a lot different than I expected. I thought it would be a soft buttery taste but it was kinda dry. It did have a lot of flavor. For two cronut it came up it cost $7. The lovely lady gave us a free regular donut I'm guessing cause she knew it was out first time here. AIl honestly, I prefer the regular donut over the cronut because it was much softer and had lots of flavor. Overall, I wouldn't come here again for the cronuts maybe if I'm ever in the area I would come back for the regular donuts.

I had to make a trip out here after I saw my friend post a picture of her Maple Espresso Cronut on IG! I've been wanting to try this new donut craze but haven't had the chance. It's pretty cool that this little mom-and-pop shop decided to hop on the wagon. This place is not just a donut hole--but a hole in the wall in its entirety. I went to the drive-thru and spoke to nobody for a minute or two until I decided to just park my car and go inside. I was reminded to call first to check if they have any cronuts left, but I felt like if it was meant to be, that there will be one waiting for me. Lo and behold, there was not one but TWO cronuts ready to be eaten. A Maple Espresso and Red Velvet. My original plan was to save half of each for my beau to try but after one bite of the red velvet, it was all gone in the next, lol. It took a lot of self control not to eat the second one, lol. Overall, the lady behind the counter was super sweet so I will definitely be back!

My sister recommended this place to me. So I came here to try the cronuts. Such a family staff! The service here is superb, and I love the different type of flavors they have for cronuts. Everything is delicious too! It might be slightly on the pricier end but it's worth it if you want a good cronut. I tried the cinnamon and red velvet one. We were even fortunate to get a little sample of the red velvet one with cookie butter -- yum!!! I feel overweight now by eating so many cronuts but it's delicious. If I am craving a cronut, I would recommend this place. I was fortunate when I came around 11am there were still lots of different flavors left but some did run out. The parking lot is a little small though but it'll do. There's also a drive-thru if you want to get your cronuts/donuts to go!

Came here the day before and they were sold out of cronuts :( but it was like 5pm. The lady working there told us to come back the next morning at around 9 or 10 AM because that's when they'll have more cronuts. So we came in today at around 9:45 AM, and fortunately they weren't sold out yet! They had actually just prepared a batch :O) They offered original glazed, house cream (whipped cream with custard), nutella drizzle, chocolate almond with caramel drizzle, red velvet, maple espresso, and maple bacon! We got the glazed, house cream, nutella, and chocolate almond ones, along with a dozen donut holes! MmmMmm... The donut holes were so cheap and a good size and a dozen for $1.25?! such a good deal! These were slightly glazed and fluffy, and were just the right amount of sweet. I liked how the dough was a little savory as well so it wasn't just all sweet, which made it more awesome! The cronuts were exactly what you expect it to be, the soft flaky texture and savory buttery flavor of a croissant with the sweet taste of a donut! My favorites out of the 4 I got were the glazed and nutella ones. I thought the house cream and chocolate almond caramel cronuts were too sweet for my liking! The simpler the better :D Overall, i really enjoyed the donut holes and cronuts we got here, I really liked the flavor of the dough, but -1 star for the donuts not being warm though :(

  • Crystal C.

One word... CRONUTS. Apparently, they only make a limited batch daily. One of the employees advised to call ahead of time or come early morning. The CRONUTS have attracted so much attention, especially by word of mouth. No need to even advertise! In fact, when I came in a little after opening I didn't see them on display. I had to ask for them. I bought a dozen of what ever they had, I would have bought more if they were available! I don't really remember all of the flavors but the maple bacon and toasted coconut really made an impression on me! The CRONUTS were warm, flaky, and worth every calorie. I'm glad I gave this place a try and this will definitely not be my last visit, but first of many! The staff was friendly and extremely helpful. They even gave me a discount and threw in a couple donuts.

Had my first cronut here TODAY!!! (Maple Espresso Cronut) Absolutely delicious! Here's A Tip:Come in early..because they sell out fast!! Cronuts and Donut Holes are fast sellers here! And 'NO' the cronuts don't taste anything like a 'regular donut...it's actually flaky, light and buttery. This place is known for their 'old fashion' donuts. They have been here for years. Krispy Kreme donuts are no competition. Why they pick a location next to another donut shop ...go figure. Baker's Donuts are fresh baked everyday and...not shipped from another store like Krispy Kreme. This is the place to come for fresh baked donuts...oh, by the way, about the drive thru window...you have to pull up to the window and a lady will assist you (she'll let you know what donuts are remaining and what are sold out) This place may be old and all, but the donuts here are always great! I recommend this place. I will be back for more!

  • Nancy L.

I came here to try the infamous cronuts wanted to see what the hype was all about. They have a drive thru which is a plus for me on those days I feel like wearing my jammies. You drive up to the window and honk seems simple enough. I ordered the bacon maple, red velvet and cookie butter flavored cronuts. Customer service was great the person in the window was very informative. This place has allot of character probably original esthetics since they been established. As far as the cronuts it's croissant shaped like a donut with toppings. I like both so this works for me. I give them 4 stars due to the fact it was a little oily. Best way I can describe it is as if oil seeps into the layers when it's being fried or not being drained/absorbed by something else after frying. This is not something I could eat everyday or even weekly since it's very heavy to me. However I would recommend this place and would definitely pick up a box to share at the office.

Amazing donuts and cronuts. Quick (and great) service. Reasonable prices. What more can you ask for?? This is a really small donut shop off Florin Rd where I never knew existed! I've been here twice at different times and was able to get the cronuts I wanted. I definitely recommend the nutella and chocolate caramel almond cronuts. The red velvet was a bit too sweet for me. Next time, I'm going to try one of those huge donuts they have.

My friend and I were pulling an all nighter and we were happy to see that Baker's opened at 4:00am. We arrived about 4:15, the shop was dark, the man behind the counter was being very rude to a homeless man that bought a cup of coffee, and the only donuts they had were from the day before... They weren't going to have fresh donuts until 6:00. We were disappointed to say the least... I understand that it's early, but if a place opens at a certain time as a customer I expect them to have everything ready.

  • Chiara M.

Delicious cronuts and very interesting flavors!! The cronuts were especially buttery, flaky, and freshly made... soooo goooooood. The lady working at the counter was so kind to give us two free donuts with our order of two cronuts! I absolutely adore sweets and I will for sure be coming back to this place.

  • Vivian V.

I'm a fan of their cronuts. I found them only because I yelped cronuts and they came up! Sadly, I knew about Krispy Kreme (literally right across from them) before I discovered this place. Baker's Donuts is definitely a hidden gem. The only thing is the place is tiny so don't expect to sit down and have a cup of coffee, you'll be getting your things to go. They also have maple donuts filled with custard. I grew up eating those but for some reason they are so hard to find these days, luckily this place has then. I will never be fit again. Damn you baker's donuts-I'm hooked.

Came here to get some Cronuts because I've seen soooo many people post pictures of them on instagram and boy did they look delicious. I've been wanting to try it out ever since! I finally had time to make my way to Baker Donuts to order the cronuts. I got the glazed and the chocolate/caramel almond. I was anticipating my first bite into the cronut. The moment it hit my mouth and i took that first bite, DISAPPOINTMENT. what a hype. I don't even get why everyone posts about these cause they tasted like regular donuts! i actually tossed it away. That cronut is nothing compared to the Cronut sold at Estelle's Patisserie. the cronut there is amazing! fluffy and flaky, just like a croissant! Honestly, I'd say don't even try this place out. Don't wast your money. Just head to Estelle's and try their Cronuts, i can promise you it will be worth it.

Located on Florin Rd. next to a Krispy Kreme's. I always hope no one talks to me from my car to the shop because there's always a handful of transients or unsavory characters hanging out and walking around the area. Note: This donut shop has a drive thru. Anyway, this shop has something I haven't seen in other local shops.. I usually see cronuts with some type of filling but here they ditch the filling and go for the toppings. I felt like a hundred balloons dropped from the ceiling when I showed up and they had fresh, hot cronuts available. Fresh and hot make a big difference. They're worth the hype. On top of it all, they gave me some free donut holes! Note 2: A regular I met in the shop said they have a second location on Fruitridge.

  • Pynki V.

Bummer. So we came here twice. But only tried it once. We totally felt we were conceived. Don't know what the rants & raves were about. The first time we came they were already closed. Note: Closed on Sundays. Even though on the huge street sign says it "open everyday 4am-8p." They're not. Even went thru drive thru to make sure. But nope. So we went across the street to Krispy Kreme & I got myself w dozen donuts. So the second time, we called ahead to make sure. They said they were open until 8pm. So we went & when you walk in it was pretty dirty. Its a small little walk area to the register where there's an Asian lady who doesn't greet you, just asks what you want to order. She asked us 3 times what we wanted while she was on the phone & she still didn't get it right! :/ We ordered 2 of the "ice Glazers" which is the donut w the ice cream in the middle. Well.. From the pictures I thought the donut was suppose to be the full donuts but we got the regular donuts w the hole in the middle. And there were suppose to be free toppings (fruity pebbles, chocolate pebbles & cookie butter) which she ran out of, well except the chocolate pebbles. She said she had a little bit left. We tried the ube (w the handful of chocolate pebbles which gave it a little bit of texture) & Thai tea ice creams ice glazers. And We were extremely disappointed. Not like I couldn't just go across the street to Krispy Kreme & get a dozen & go down the street to the S.F. Asian Market & grab a gallon of Ube & Thai tea ice cream & make them myself. I think that if you ran out of something you should half ass & jus substitute anything. You need to let your customers knw what they are getting. Oh & make sure you bring cash, they take ATM/debit but charge $.50 but don't tell you that until they slide your card already & they hand you the keypad where you have to put your pin number in & then you see the note that say $.50 charge! Sneaky. I guess the rant & raves were only for the cronuts. But dont think we'll be coming back. Its just too dirty for us. :( Sucks, because really wanted to like it.

Like wow! Yummy goodness. Friendly n great customer service. Amazing taste and CRONUT craze lol. A small corner shop with decent parking, well worth it for the great tasting donuts I've had. I bought 4 cronuts, the bacon maple, red velvet, toasted coconut and almond with chocolate. It's amazingly fresh, melts in ur mouth and I went in the AM, so I got it fresh and still warm :) I will definitely come here again and require N recommend friends and family. Wonderful service and I got a nice discount with my 1st CRONUT experience.

Asked a couple people where I could find cronuts to see what the hype was about and everyone said to come here. Came late in the afternoon and they didn't have any left so they suggested that I place an order for pick up the next day. So I ordered 3 strawberry and cream, 1 bacon and maple and 1 chocolate crumb. The next day, I didn't get a call saying that my order was ready but came to the shop anyway. Discovered that they weren't able to find strawberries the night before to make the strawberry and cream cronuts. But...we ended up walking out with 5 cronuts and 2 ube donuts for FREE!! Despite the fact that I didn't get what I initially ordered and was a bit disappointed, they made up for it with their customer service, delicious cronuts and donuts! Next time we're in town, we'll be back!

I was craving donuts so bad the very moment I saw the Good Day Sacramento segment on this mom & pop shop. I was so intrigued by all the unique things on their menu!! Sooo good & the customer service is AWESOME!! I felt so welcomed by the young gentleman working the register, great conversation! He gave me a deal for the dozen of donuts I picked out since it was my first time & even added a few donut holes free for my 2 1/2 year old. Amazing hospitality, this place definitely left an impression. No doubt I'll be back. Don't forget to try their ice glazers & kronuts. You won't regret it. Eff a diet & eff Krispy Kreme!! Lol :)

My very first time having Cronuts. After all the rave, I have been waiting to get my hands on these carb loaded goodies. I went there today since my sister is in town from SF. We called in ahead of time just to make sure they still had some because it was already 8. For sure enough they actually don't start making them until around that time so it was perfect. My sister and I ordered one of everything, haha. When we got there we actually ordered more cos the sis loves red velvet. Before I get to the Cronuts, let me just say that this place is such a gem. It's a tiny place that had been there for years and I hope that they will continue to thrive even after krispy kreme opened next door. Just seeing the people that went this morning you can tell that they have a lot of regulars All in all the dozen cronuts came out to $40. Yes, very pricey but better than driving hella far. I didn't even actually pay that. My bill came to much cheaper because Douglas gave us a nice discount plus extra donut holes and donuts on the side. Super sweet of him. Will definitely be coming back to show them some more love :)

I only tried the cronuts here. I am a HUGE donut fan so I have travelled far and wide tasting different donuts. I got one regular glazed, one red velvet, one chocolate with almonds, and one with Nutella. I was looking forward to the maple with bacon but they had just run out and were getting more. The cronut with Nutella was nothing to write home about. It lacked a bit of flavor even though the consistency was fine. The red velvet, regular glazed, and chocolate almond however were delicious. These cronuts are more moist, less flaky, and have more of a donut consistency than other cronuts I've had. That also means they are a bit more greasy, but hey, they're donut derivatives, and they tasted great. My mom, who got the apple fritter, also said that tasted wonderful, saying it was very light. The guy helping his mother out at the counter was very nice. I truly hope this family-run donut shop continues to do well. Definitely visit for the cronuts--AND other baked goods. The best time to go is around 9am, when they finish frying the cronuts.

Yummmm! Baker's Donuts is out of the way, but definitely worth the trip if you're in the mood to indulge. All of the cronuts are made fresh when you order, so if you have a large order it's best to call ahead. My sister, her husband, and I went to Baker's on a Saturday morning. The location is a little sketchy and the building is very old, but don't be scared off. Inside you will find delicious baked goods and a very friendly staff. We all shared the glazed, cinnamon sugar, red velvet, and maple bacon cronuts. Glazed and cinnamon sugar are $2.75 each and while tasty, I preferred the red velvet and maple bacon, which were $3.50 each. These were filled with flavor, while the glazed and cinnamon sugar seemed more oily/greasy (perhaps the other toppings covered the oil more?). Anyway, the red velvet cronut tastes exactly like red velvet as there is a layer of frosting inside too! The maple bacon was covered with delicious bacon (they don't skimp) that balanced the sweet perfectly. We also shared a dozen donut holes (15 cents each) which were fluffy and delicious. This place is a definite must try! I will be back when the guilt of this trip wears off (maybe after several trips to the gym).

I've been hearing about this while in the wall donut shop for a few months now so my boyforend and I decided a few days ago to go. Oh. My. God . I got this donut that looked like a pinata with its purple icing and fruity pebbles topping. I worried at first that it would be too sweet but lo and behold the sweetness mellows out and allows you yo enjoy the donut. The donut itself was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside-the perfect donut in my opinion. Come here and you will not be disappointed.

BACOOOOOOOOOOOON CRONUTS!!!!!!!!!!! (I knew that would get your attention)! LOL :) DECOR: My fiance picked my cronut up so I did not get to check out the decor or cleanliness of the place. FOOD: Bacon cronuts are the best thing going right now. First off the cronut in its self is amazing. So much lighter than regular donuts. THEN to top it off with a glaze and bacon...my goodness what a wonderful creation. I loved every bite. SERVICE: Like I mentioned my fiance went and picked up my cronut. He did mention that they were very nice and they even gave him free donut holes. =] I can not wait to try more cronuts!! Very excited that I discovered this place.

If i hadn't seen the place on the news i wouldn't have tried them. It looks like a tiny little dive. That can be overlooked because these are the best doughnuts i've ever had! They're a bit pricey, but worth it!

The Cronuts are delicious!!! Bomb.com maple bacon, red velvet, cookie butter, sooo dammm goooodddd. I'm not a sugar person but these Cronuts are a must try!! I'm hooked after my first time. I'm definitely coming back next time!!

  • Michael T.

4 stars cause they ran out of the bacon cronuts, but the maple mocha and red velvet were still awesome. Will be calling in next time to reserve the major bacon. You know it's good cause even with a Krispy kream next door it's still open.

Trust me ive had my fair share of donuts. This place is top notch. And the croughnuts are better than ever. They will make you whatever you want. Call ahead and they will have your order ready to go. And they are friendly. Kudos bakers donuts. First 5 i have ever given.

I always try to stop by here on my way to Tahoe. People here are super friendly and the cronuts are THE BOMB! It's best to call and place an order ahead because they usually sell out quick. I like mine custard filled so don't be afraid to ask for it.

  • Gee H.

CRONUTS!!!!!! The best of two world's as one. The owners are some great people. Wonderful service! Definitely would choose bakers over the crispy cream across the street anyday. If your craving for some CRONUTS remember to call in early to reserve yourself some as they go quick!

I bought a dozen CRONUTS this morning and they were amazzzzing! They were fresh, crispy, flaky, buttery-sweetness! Mmmmm Nom noms! They're pricier than your average donut but these are not your average donut obvi! They're so worth it! The owner even gives you a discount if you buy a couple, so why not splurge ?! My favorites are the toasted coconut and the chocolate almond. They even have one with cookie butter! So dangerous! But you can't go wrong with any of the Cronut flavors. Buy a dozen or two, trust me you won't regret it!

This tiny place whips up breakfast delights better than other places. Their cronuts are just delicious. We ordered a big batch of different flavors for our family but everyone went crazy over the maple bacon and the maple espresso. More power to this family run place. Everyone there is so friendly and makes you feel like you are in a small town where everyone knows everyone. That is hard to come by nowadays. Needless to say we will be back!!! Thank you!!!

  • Huy P.

Donuts on the way to Tahoe! Came to try their famous cronuts but we were there too early and the batch wasn't ready. The owner said to call ahead next time to let them know. So we got some other freshly made donuts and they literally melt in your mouth!

Saw them on good day sacramento. Called to place an order, they asked if I could call back in five minutes because they were helping a customer. To my surprise, THEY called me back in 2 minutes. I drove an hour to get there. Service was great. Cronuts amazing. Donuts were fresh. When i got there my order wasnt ready but it was because they wanted me to have fresh after driving an hour. And they tossed in a few freebies that they are trying out. Theres a pink donut that tastes exactly like a strawberry banana smoothie....awesome!Good assortment of product and they cook throughout the day. If they dont have what you want they will make it!!!. Amazing! They need to expand to Amador county. We could use a place like this.

Yummy donuts! Love that they have so many selections and if they don't have it they have pictures & can be made! It's a fair price. The service there is awesome they are really nice people!! They have deals when u purchase a certain amount of donuts.

  • Sophany H.

This donut shop has been around for years and is the best mom and pop shop for fresh donuts. The people who work there and own it will take care of you. Donuts are fresh and a good price and they also give you free donuts when you get a lot of donuts or if you order dozens. Don't support the high price KRSPY KREME business!! GO bakers donuts lol

    (5)
  • Bev V.

They sell out so often, so they recommend reserving them in the morning, but there's no point, they'll sell your order, even if you show up on time. Seriously disorganized. Didn't help that they were incredibly dirty, with rusty leaks dripping from their roof.

  • Omid A.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME! Delicious selections and baked to perfection! Way better than any Krispy Kreme or other donut shop. In fact a Krispy Kreme opened next door. I will personally stand outside Krispy Kreme and slap anyone that tries to enter and then personally guide them to the Bakers Donut. Do the right thing. Get a cronut from these guys. Join the movement this is john Connor and we are the revolution

I was so impressed with this place. I love hole in the wall shops and this fits the bill, this place is a dive but i say that in the most endearing way. I was greeted right away by the girl at the counter even though she was helping another customer. Extra points there! When it was my turn she was so nice and super informative, she gave me the low down on all of the cronuts and what the popular ones were. I am so indecisive so it took me a while to narrow it down and she waited ever so patiently. I finally decided on the maple bacon and my friend got the red velvet, so of course we shared. First of all they were SOOO freakin fresh! The bacon was so crispy and delicious and cronut was so flaky and delicious!!! I loved the red velvet one also it was a bit crumbly though. I don't know how the Krispy Kreme next door stays open.

We were from San Jose I happened to tan into bakers donuts from searching up Sacramento on Pinterest. When we got there we saw that there was a Krispy Kreme next door, later we were told that the Krispy Kreme moved in next to them so they had to do something different. Boy did they?! When we got in we were told that they were out of cronuts! Bummer! Then a guy came out and told us someone didn't pick up their order and that we can buy them. Man was I happy! We tried the maple espresso and red velvet. I have to say red velvet is my absolute favorite! I also tried the ice cream donut with Thai ice cream! That took donuts to a whole nother level! The ice cream was so good and wasn't too sweet to allow the donut to balance it out. The prices are very reasonable and the service was very friendly! Can't wait to come back again!!

  • Julienne S.

Waited in their drive thru line for about 30 minutes to find out that they had no cronuts at all anymore. The guy told me to call ahead and so I did the next week but the lady said to call at 6 am because she did not know how to take the order. Why even answer the phone if you don't know how to take the freaking order?? So I just called at 6 am to place an order. Told her I would be there around 4. I had errands to run after work so I got there around 4:55. When I got there the guy working there said I didn't call to tell them I would be late and that they sold the cronuts from my order. I get that I should be on time but shouldn't they mention that their policy when placing the order? Worst freaking service ever and I never plan to come here again. No cronuts in life are worth this experience.

    (1)
  • Stacy S.

The quality and taste of their donuts are ok. Their cronuts are smaller than other bakeries. Their display isn't appealing.

    (3)

they passed the donuts test! donuts were still good the next day! small hole in the wall old school donut shop.

  • Ashley D.

I started following them on Instagram right before moving here. I was stoked to have found a donut place to try. So I finally made it in to try something. We ended up getting the red velvet cronut, espresso cronut, apple fritter, and a FREE thai tea donut. They were delicious!!! But the best part was the service! Myself and my boyfriend were recognized from Instagram so they were super friendly on that level, and it was very appreciated. We will be going back very soon for sure!

DANM!!!!!!!! THIS IS TOOOOOOOOO DAMN good. This is a must have and a need to stop. There is a Krispy Kreme across the street that is getting no business, should close down or move!!!!!! Lol These cronuts R to damn good...... and the customer service is absolutely perfect, very friendly can call in order ahead of time. Made fresh. On a big order like over a dozen I definitely suggest calling it in, because they are always busy. Love this place. I live about 20 minutes away but make the drive for these cronuts, even though I'm not much of a donut person. these things here, Is how those kids say it- off the hook

    (5)
  • Jessica F.

Cronuts are definitely amazing. I just suggest to the owners to be consistent. I've boughten them on numerous occasions and felt like the quality had been lacking and The size and toppings were much less than prior visits. For myself, consistency is very important especially since each Cronut ranges anywhere from $3-$4.

    (3)
  • C. K.

The cronuts are amazing- best in Sacramento! Service was great- you will want to call your order in the day before to ensure you get what you want. My favorite is the chocolate chip or cookie butter cronut. The downfall is that you need to bring cash.

  • Jennifer C.

A little hole in the wall, but definitely worth going into. It really sucks that Krispy Kreme opened up next door. I really think that this place is gold! I went in here to try a cronut and I'm so glad I did! It was flakey and light and delish! It is $3.50 for a cronut which is average price. Very worth it!!! I went in there and only bought 1 and a maple bar and the lady that worked there was so nice! She was very welcoming and even gave me a free donut. Over all I prefer this place over the overpriced and overly sweet Krispy Kreme. Please support local shops!!!

  • Trynn L.

I came in wanting to try the ice cream donuts but they were sold out. I ended up getting the Cookie Batter Cronut. My friend and I split it (watching my calories). It was sooo GOOD! I would've preferred it to be warm though. They had been sitting out awhile since we came in the evening and they are made in the morning/afternoon. I suggest calling in ahead of time if you want the ice cream donuts. I hear they sell out fast.

  • Candi F.

Disappointed. I checked the hours. Says they close at 8pm. I'm 9 months pregnant. My husband drives me up there at 7:20. Their sign says closed and they were packing up. We ended up going to Krispy Kreme Woulda been our first experience.

This place is awesome!! Went for the first time looking to try cronuts and not only did we find them they had an assortment of flavors! All were delicious but loved the cinnamon/sugar crumb and maple bacon! Douglas helped us out. He was super friendly, explained the pricing and flavors. And even added a couple to our order for free. Will for sure go back!!

Let me just start by saying that the donuts Bakers completely blow Krispy Kreme's out of the water. I always drive by this place on my way back from school, but me not having much of a sweet tooth, I usually continue on my merry way. I'm super picky with my desserts. People say I have more of a meat tooth, per say, as I usually tend to crave savory, fried carb-y, and meaty items. But, from time to time, I definitely get the snack attack for something sugary and when I do, it better be damn good. Well, my sweet tooth came a calling so I did indeed stop on by. On first impression, it's a really small place. Not the fanciest of establishments, but that's never really bothered me before. I'm the type of person where if the food is good, that's all that matters. I could really care less if there's chandeliers or blue french horns hanging all over the place. Anyways, the selection was plentiful and I was tempted by so many. I was in a deadlock with all of the doughnut choices begging me to take them home, but in the end, I ended up get a rectangular cruller type of thing and a glazed yeast doughnut. I told the lady it was the first time I was there and I think she could tell I was eyeing this chocolate cake doughnut HARD because she was so nice enough to throw it in for me for free! Yay! I definitely left this place feeling mighty happy, but I had this strange urge to stop into Krispy Kreme before I took off. I've seen it open up recently, but I've yet to try it (partly due to my aforementioned microscopically sized sweet tooth). I love a good head-to-head challenge especially when it comes to food, so I thought to myself, "Hey why not?" I got a classic glazed doughnut there, took my stash and went home to enjoy my doughnut feast. Well, let me tell you the results of my glazed doughnut battle. Baker's donuts is, without-a-doubt, the clear WINNER. Not only was my doughnut cheaper (I think it was around 75 cents or something. Krispy Kreme's was over a $1), but it was DOUBLE THE SIZE. It made the Krispy Kreme doughnut look like a complete puny wimp. But beyond the value factor, it tasted a thousand times better. I never realized how much Krispy Kreme doughnuts suck. I think I was just enchanted by the open doughnut glazing factory when I was little because, good god, it just tasted so bad next to the Baker's doughnut. Baker's was just so fluffy and tasted so much fresher. I'm definitely only going to Baker's doughnuts to get my sweet fix on. I can't wait to try their famous cronuts next time. I really do hope this lil mom-n-pop shop stays in business because their doughnuts are so good and the owner seems so sweet, especially when compared to the generic chain doughnut slop next door.

  • Gemma D.

My boyfriend and I went here after discovering it on Instagram. Needless to say, the pictures make it seem 10x nicer than it actually is. We got two ube donuts. They were dry and tasted like lemon lime soda? I have no idea why, but, it did not taste like ube. We also got a ham and cheese croissant. I expected it to look like the sandwich they posted on Instagram, but instead I got a soggy, doughy croissant with a small roll of ham and some cheese wrapped in the very bottom. They also charge you 50 cents for using a card. We really wanted to like this place, but unfortunatley we will not be coming back.

I couldn't wait to get my hands on some Cronuts! Big, fluffy and delicious! I took a dozen assorted and my family loved them! Call early and go there! These Pieces of heaven go fast!! Suzie the owner was very sweet!

  • Ashley V.

Okay if you haven't tried a Cronut before it's a must! Not just any Cronut but the ones from this donut shop. Who doesn't like a buttery flaky donut with so many different options of flavors. I've tried the coconut and whipped cream and they were so good! NOT HEAVY OR GREASY AT ALL! I have also tried their ham and cheese croissant and banana but muffin on my way to work and that is must try too the muffin was so moist and the ham and cheese croissant is for sure my favorite. Even when I'm running late I am able to get what I want quickly. I definitely will be a regular here. Customer service was also great!

The place and area is a bit run down but the doughnuts are great. I get the hype of it but feel it lacks proper business skills to elevate it to a true establishment. I hate that their is a $10 minimum for credit card use. I understand that theirs a fee per transaction but it should just be built into the price.

    (3)
  • Chris N.

After seeing what all the hype was about these cronuts on instagram, I decided that it was time to dig in and indulge myself in one of these new hyped up treats. However as I entered the establishment named bakers donuts, it was small, tiny, and overall looked unsanitary. However ignoring these warnings i proceeded through, looking through their selection they did have a large variety. Upon looking I paid 3.75 for a red velvet cronut. When I came home and took a bite it was god awful. The cronut was oily, lacked in flavor, and overall was not worth my 3.75. I just threw it out and quit eating. Overall I had a terrible experience at baker's donuts due to the lack in flavor and oily cronut. Maybe I'll come another time but overall I was not impressed with their idea of the cronut.

  • Michelle A.

This place was amazing! The staff was very helpful and friendly. While their cronuts were a little on the pricey side, they were very tasty and they offered a variety of flavors... I bought a dozen of their cronuts and their ice cream stuffed glazed donut! Since it was my first time there, they were nice enough to let me sample a few of their other items for FREE! I'm not a big fan of Ube (purple yam), the ube donut was legit! It wasn't just colored purple, it actually tasted like ube! I would definitely visit them again the next time I'm in the area.

  • Angel M.

I like that they've stayed true to themselves and haven't changed since KK opened next door. They sell this huge Donut that they only make three of each day, nd if you want order a couple or just want to make sure, they have some, you have to call ahead! The lady that helped me was really nice, and threw in a free donut!

    (4)
  • Cee K.

My boyfriend and I walked in and we immediately walked away because the place looked unsanitary and disgusting. Sorry to judge but the place did not appeal to the eyes, therefore we lost out appetite. :(

So I've been here twice. Both times I've been incredibly excited only to be extremely disappointed both times. The first time they were sold out at 1 pm, which I passed as understandable, since they've been all over the news. The second time, I called in to reserve a few. I told them that I would be there by four. When I arrived at 3:45, they told me they had sold my order, thinking that I wasn't coming (even though I showed up early). Incredibly disappointed.

    (1)
  • Alexandra B.

Omg the cronuts! I got 6 of them maple bacon, caramel cookie, red velvet, almond nutella, maple mocha, and strawberries n' cream. Nice variety, and the flavors are so different. Personally the maple bacon is my favorite, but there wasn't a flavor that I hated.

    (5)
  • Loan H.

I got a little bit of everything today...couldn't help it! These cronuts were delicious. The espresso glazed cronut was the perfect balance of bittersweet. The cinnamon sugar cronut tasted like a churro! The red velvet was not overly sweet and had a little more of a donut consistency. You get a better deal if you buy a dozen. This place has been around since I was a kid. I'm glad Krispy Kreme has not bullied them out.

  • Melissa K.

So I have heard of cronuts from my friends and have never experience them. Somehow i was able to stumble upon them via my friends instagram. Looking at the photos I instantly started to drool and knew i had to go buy me some. Luckily I called in advance to see what they had left since they made a limited amount a day. They had so many flavors and were able to save me a dozen of them for me to buy. Cronuts came in snickers, maple bacon, cinnamon sugar, glaze, nutella, house cream, and RED VELVET!!!!!! I had to buy a little bit of everything and share. I was able to get a discount too, if you instagram or facebook a pic of your cronut they will give you 50 cents off. It was faith that i found them on instagram and highly recommend anyone who is curious about cronuts to come here. The price range for these delicious yummy cronuts were perfect. I think I will make a new years resolution to have one cronut a week. Along with the cronuts they had a variety of yummy donuts, a giant texas size and croissant ham and cheese. Its family run business and they provide great service.

SUPPORT LOCALLY MADE DONUTS over those AWFUL KRISPY KREMES !! I love the personal touch of the family who run BAKER'S DONUT. I NEED fresh, warm, cheap, yummy donuts every morning, when I hit the Farmer's Market across the way on Thursdays, and too many evenings to count !! BAKER'S DONUTS have the BEST donuts in town !!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about them, gotta go !!

This is the only place in Sac that has cronuts (croissants and doughnuts). They had a variety of cronuts. They were about $3.75 each, which I think it is too pricey for what they actually tasted like, which just tasted like regular doughnuts. The one with the Nutella was the only one that tasted different. The owners were super nice though. They gave me a $2 discount and a free dozen doughnut holes.

I found out about this because they went on a liking spree on my Instagram. A non-conventional means of advertisement, but hey, it definitely worked. Baker's is located in a dodgy part of town where you wouldn't expect quality anything. It's located right next to Krispy Kreme in a small building. Unfortunately, they were already out of their cronuts (or "cronutz" as they deem it to distinguish themselves from others) by the time I got there at 5PM. I got the next best thing which is their ice cream sandwich. The ube ice cream sandwich (purple yam for those of you non-Filipinos) was pretty good. The glazed donuts were so-so and didn't really blow me out of the water. That was the only thing I ordered due to the fact that they run out of certain specialty donuts in the morning. They recommend to order them a day in advance in order to covet those gorgeous donuts. I anticipate coming back and updating my review once I try them!

Oh double wow! Had the chai tea donut, donut holes and the blueberry donut. Delicious! The innards were tender, squishy, and moist. Slid across my tongue and down my gullet like it should. The blueberry was blueberry through and through. The chai was tasty and unexpected treat.

Super duper friendly employees. Discounts when you check in on yelp. We tried their cronut with bacon (Like the cronut, but the bacon was too much). We also had just a plain chocolate donut. The donut was just so so, a bit yeasty for my taste. The service though- it was so friendly that I'll be back... at least to try another cronut.

We came early for some cronuts (around 9:30 am) but they're out for the day. Not a normal occurrence since they serve it throughout the day. They just sold out. We ended up getting a dozen donuts. The guy was very engaging and friendly. Even gave us some free donuts. We plan on coming back the next day for some cronuts, though. We were told you can even call to reserve them before you pick up. After tasting their donuts, I can say they taste better than the super sugary sweetness of Krispy Creme. Soft, tasty and just the right amount of glaze. It is right beside Krispy Creme but I'll go here anytime. My husband says they've been at this location a long time. Don't be deceived by the smallness of the place. There are some yummy goodness inside.

Tried 4 different kinds of cronuts with my friends but the maple bacon was by far the best in all our opinions. Super great service and worth the wait while they cooked up a new batch. My fat ass says no but my mouth says yes yes yes!!!

This place is great! Little shop inside, best to get your donuts and go. The maple bacon croissants are great but they are not included in the dozen. $3.50 each. I would choose this shop over Krispy Kreme for sure. Just won't buy the croissants.

I had to try their CRONUTS after seeing a couple friends on Instagram post pictures of these delicious thangs! Hubby & I decided to try 4 of the CRONUTS, the coconut, maple bacon, red velvet, and the strawberry Nutella. All of them were so good! I've been wanting to get more, but it's kinda a far drive from Elk Grove, so I give them a 4 star rating.

Excellent customer service! Owners daughter was friendly and helpful. Tried the ube ice cream donit, the ube donut, the maple bacon cronut and the glazed donut the size of your head! All were delish!!!

Stepping into this family's business is just like being at home! They care about their customers and they make my sweet tooth just tingle but maybe that's a cavity. Anyways, loved how she compensated when there wasn't all the order we wanted. Most def coming back next time.

These look way better in pictures than in person. I was expecting them to be amazing but they were merely ordinary. The place definitely needs renovation as well, it doesnt even have air conditioning.

Was referred by a friend and wasnt disappointed. Now, it was my first time trying a cronut and it was delicious. Ive tried ther bacon maple, chocolate maple( i think it was), oreo cookie, and cappucino flavors and all were so good. I also tried their ube ice cream donut sandwich and that was awesome, although a little sweet so i needed a lot of water. Highly recommend. They are the usual "hole in the wall" looking place, right next to a krispy kreme, but dont underestimate. They are good. They even gave me some ube cake donuts for free, which my cousins enjoyed a lot. Get there earlier in the day if you want a wider selection of cronut flavors as once they run out, thats it for the day.

Cronuts are good, but expensive for what you get. The cronuts are very small and very sweet. I'd rather stick to my local donut shop to get my donut fix.

Love the staff here. My Co - worker and I are regulars and market cronuts to various healthcare places. Everyone loves them and can't get enough. :)

Tried my first Ice Cream Donut today.... I'm addicted!! The ice cream flows perfect with the sweetness of the donut. Also learned that it's best to call ahead of time to order the cronuts but lucky there were two left. We for sure will be coming back for more!!

  • Caitlin G.

I've had cronuts at a few other places but NONE have been as delicious as Bakers! The place is definitely run down and the owners need to clean up the trash outside and slap a new coat of paint on. BUT our maple bacon cronuts were THE BEST I've ever had. At $3.50 a piece they are a little pricey but so worth it!

So Ive been living in Sac all my life and I just found out about this spot hehehe. Anyways the boo & I tried to go on a Sunday around 4:00pm just to find out that all the cronuts were sold out :( lesson learned... So Tuesday came along and I decided to call in and have an order put on hold for me:) you bet I rushed over after I got off work around 4pm and walahhhh got my order. 4 different cronuts for $12. I was so excited! Ate half of my Strawberry Cream Cronut in the car and the other half as I got home. I loveeeeeed all the cronuts. I will be a returning customer.

  • Bliss B.

Ordered their cronuts and found them to be extremely greasy. Way too oily for my taste. Every bite was like biting into a glob of oil. Never again. Long wait (1hr between getting in line and actually receiving donuts) and horrible parking accommodations. This place is not for me. Not worth the wait, not worth the trouble.

  • Tina R.

Went here for the first time today. It was also my first time ever having a cronut! Had the coconut cronut and it was amazing! I will definitely be returning soon! My only regret was not taking a picture of my first cronut experience..lol

  • Angela P.

Tried a cronut for the first time today and it was amazing. We tried the Mable bacon, the red velvet, espresso topped and choc. Chip, all good. I think I can make this stop part of my morning commute. The people there were very nice and helpful. I will be back. Yumm!

I saw my friend post a pic of cronuts and had no clue what it was, but really wanted to try it since it look so delicious and thought that it was a regular donut. Then come to my surprise after talking to a patient. He told me that there was this new thing out call cronuts. Not knowing that I heard the name before I asked him what it was, and he told me it's a cross between donut and croissant that generated from new York not to long ago. So curious as I am to try new things. I finally got my butt down to this location and immediately I was greeted with a big smile from the young guy working there. Even though it is a small mom and pop shop it didn't bother me much. He was very knowledgeable, welcoming, and personal and so was the sister I believe. On top of that we made it just in time to pick up 7 flavor, which 4 was being place as I was ordering. The cronuts was amazingly good and fluffy. Especially the flavors are to die for. Oh can't forget the free maple cluster reg donut and 1.75 off for 4 or more items. Happy with the experience I also tip after I got 8 cronuts for $26.xx I will be back. P.s. they will even hold order for cronuts if you call early enough. Even if it's for 1 flavor

  • Heather N.

The hype about the cronuts surpassed my expectations. We tried all offered flavors, a dozen minimum is a must. The bacon maple by far is my favorite because I mean come on, bacon with anything is pretty perfect. They are a little pricey however the quality, freshness and size is why they aren't your typical .80 donut. I'm looking forward to my next trip!!

  • Christine G.

Best Cronuts in Sacramento!!! So many to choose from. There is a maple Cronut with bacon, peanut butter cup Cronut, red velvet crumb cronut. They also have a great selection of donuts with fruity pebbles on top!

    (5)
  • Xuan N.

Called ahead but was told there are plenty of CRONUTS. By the time I arrived (10mins later) I barely was able to order a full dozen. There was a few people in front of me and I understood. Sweet lady went to the back to make me two Bacon Maples to complete my dozen. Definitely don't judge a book by its cover. Not a new or fancy shop but they make the yummiest cronuts in my area. I would visit everyday if my metabolism was working at its best.

  • Denisse C.

The owner cares A LOT about his customers! I decided to try this place about one week ago and they owner trusted me so much that when I had already ordered the donuts, I realized I had forgotten my debit card at my apartment. So he gave me the dozen donuts and told me to pay the next day! He believed I would love them so much that I will come back the next day. And I did :) great donuts!

Best donuts and cronuts in sacramento!! I love the creativity behind each creation. My first visit here, I was greeted very politely, while I was looking things over. I grabbed a maple bacon cronut for my boss and a glazed fruity pebble donut for myself. The girl that helped me was very nice, and also threw in a Ube donut for free! Delicious!! I believe they're donuts made from purple yams, which is not something I would normally try but wow, I'm craving those Ube's now. My fruity pebble donut was everything you'd imagine it would be, I'm sure I was eating it with a smile. I didn't try the maple bacon cronut which I deeply regretted. I made another trip back specifically for my own maple bacon cronut and it was so worth it. I've never had anything maple bacon, so I didn't know what to expect. This is a must try! Weird combination that makes such perfect sense if you like bacon and maple by themselves. Bakers Donuts is amazing! I'm surprised they haven't put the Krispy Kreme next door out of business, they're that good!

This is not a real review for this donut shop whatsoever. I'm sure I would rate it higher HAD I HAD A DONUT! Yes... drove all the ways there (sketchy, creepy part of Elk Grove mind you) and low and behold they had been out of cronuts and many of their other donuts since about NOON! What the heck are you doing still open until 8 Man? Perhaps, yes there are other items to be sold but this is a donut shop! The guy behind the counter was pleasant and cordial about it, he had a sign posted on the glass door after all so what can you do? No Donuts, No Go next time I was thinking as he handed me one of their cards and suggested that I call ahead on another donut run. A fair suggestion for the rest of the Yelpers and others reading this review! I hope to update this with a conquest and having one of their famous donuts! I like Krispy Kreme so I went ahead and visited them next door. Until then... call ahead?

I went yesterday morning to try their bacon maple cronut. It was good! The service was great and they even gave me some extra donut holes. I also ordered a coffee. The cronut, donut holes and coffee was yummy! Will definitely go back.

I came in here to grab a few dozen donuts for Donut Friday at work. Everyone loved the Cronuts, which were gone in minutes. The regular donuts didn't last much longer. Great donuts, great service, and great prices. I'm definitely coming back!

  • Kristine O.

We went to try the cronuts and were not disappointed. They had an amazing texture-- and the flavors, delicious! My favorite was the Maple Bacon. Anything fancier than the plain glazed takes a few minutes to prepare, so if you know what you want, call in advance, and they will have it ready when you roll up to the drive-through. They were on the expensive side at around $3. each, but I've learned you should expect to pay more for a cronut than a donut anywhere.

Beware !! Small shop which might have amazing Cronuts but actually getting one of them flaky mysteries is a whole different story ! I tried and tried and still to no avail.. But my mission continues .. On my day off tomorrow .. This time 7:30a!

    (1)
  • Sandy L.

They have assorted flavors of cronuts worth trying without the extra fees like other donut shops and he even gave me a discount which I appreciate so much. I will definitely come here again and again. The guy at the counter was very welcoming and helpful. That's what you call good customer service. They also have a large variety of different donuts! I look forward to trying the others as well on my next visit. You won't be disappointed!

  • Jennifer M.

I was on yelp looking for the nearest store that sells cronuts from elk grove. Thank goodness for yelp. Their cronuts are the best. It was flaky and very tasty. My children just loved their cronut maple with bacon. The owner was very friendly and even added some free samples. I will be going back again soon.

This place is GREAT!!! I will be honest I pass this place a lot and never stopped by because I thought it was just a generic donut shop. However because of the croissant donut I had to stop by. First of all, THEIR CROISSANT DONUT ARE AMAZING!!!. I bought a variety of different flavor and it was all amazing. THEIR MAPLE BACON CROISSANT DONUT IS AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS AND HANDS DOWN THE BEST TASTING ONE!!! So I definitely definitely recommend that you try it because you will not be disappointed. Also the young guy behind the counter is super sweet and has such great customer service!!! A piece of advice is if you are going to buy more than one or two, order ahead of time because they do sell out fast!!!

I am a pastry chef who has been dying to try cronuts. I was not disappointed. They had a very nice selection of flavors and they cook them to order. I will be making them soon.

I must say, Ive been living in Sacramento all my life and it is just now that I've heard of this hole in the wall donut shop. Known for their kindness and their cheap donuts, But more for their cronuts. I finally got to try their cronuts. I ordered the coconut, red velvet, and maple Bacon. The coconut and red velvet weren't what I expected. It tasted like a regular donut to me. But the maple Bacon cronut was to die for!!! It was flaky on the outside, donut-y on the inside, and They were really generous with the Bacon toppings! This place is right next to krispy kreme and I don't know what krispy kreme was thinking, But I'll take this donut shop over KK. The only thing that bothered me was that this shop gets a lot of homeless people coming in. As I waited for my cronuts to be made, a homeless man came in and was just looking over my shoulder really closely while I was on the phone and also made comments at the pictures I was looking at as I scrolled through instagram! That's probably the only reason Why I'd give this place 3 stars because of the location.

Came here for the first time a couple months back and I've been meaning to write some sort of review for quite some time now, but NOW is the time! I remember coming in for the first time and being greeted happily by the staff in the back, to me that meant alot because it felt like walking into a old relative's house and right off the bat they offered me something bomb to eat. I remember just scrolling thru the menu board and whilst looking it all over the girl behind the counter, Steffy (if i remember correctly) gave me a ube glazed donut free of charge. (Kudos for that lol ), but if anything I've tried a good amount of the menu here so far but I must say, I can't even pick just one favorite donut, the whole menu is on point, on fleek, too damn delicious man. My recommendation tho is try anything with the ube, ube/pandan ice cream, and bacon. Just have yourself checked for diabeetus after making a trip here. Cuz you'll be facing a sugar high like no other haha

Great donut shop my niece loves the muffins! Blueberry, lemon chocolate chip, and donuts are always fresh. So much better than crappy cream next door. And they have a drive thru!

I've been driving past this place for as long as I can remember but never stopped in until recently when I found out they sell cronuts here. I've tried 3 flavors so far (glazed, red velvet and maple bacon). Glazed was great, red velvet was a bit too sweet for me but maple bacon was the best. I'm not a big fan of bacon but the combination of sweet and salty was perfect. Donuts holes are good and the glaze is not too sweet. I tried the apple muffin the other day. Good flavor but was too dense for my liking, so I probably won't get anymore of those. But overall, it's a great place to get donuts. The family that owns this place is very friendly.

Read and heard about the cronut that I had to try it for myself. I was surprise to see so many good reviews on Yelp regarding the cronut and am really happy to find out that the place (Bakers Donuts) that makes these cronuts is located close to my home. When I got to the store they only had a few cronuts left on sale. I was told more was being made and that I could wait or place an order and come back later to pick them up. Since I was in a hurry to get back home I bought what they had on display. I chose a glaze cronut and the cream filling cronut. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. There is no doubt about the goodness of these cronuts. They were delicious. I will definitely go back again to try the other flavor cronuts that they have. Check out the pictures here on Yelp to see the different flavors of cronuts that this place have.

First time been here, very not impress me at all, this place is over rated, so me and my buddy order 4 different kinds of cronut, I was very regret taking my first bite, way too much grease, we can't even finish the first one, we have to throw the other 3 cronut away, just by holding it with ur finger tip the grease started to dripping, omfg really, if you want ur kids to die then go for it... Or u know u wanna kill someone to collect insurance money this is the best idea, and afterward we just wanna taste the ice cream that they have , and that bitch charged me $3.50 for A cup... Then when it arrived it's A SCOOP 1 FREAKIN SCOOP . At least FILL up the cup for $3.50... It's not even a big cup... Please don't take this as we negative... It's honest review. Just fukk my whole day up, thanks a lot I think it might have to go to hospital in little bit if this grease feel doesn't go away. I WILL NOT COME BACK AGAIN!!! EVER!!!!

  • Claudia B.

This place is a joke!..almost $3.00 for a Cronut!!...flies in the donut case and service terrible!!!...next time I will go next door to Krispy Kreme where I am sure they Do Not have flies on the donuts!!!

  • Dave K.

This place is awesome! i love to be able to pull into their establishment knowing that Krispy Kreme is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET!!!! More power to family-run, independent businesses! Keep this place alive by stopping in and picking up a delicious Cronut! They are delicious! My first time there the owner threw in a free one just so I would try it. Now I'm hooked!

  • Joe K.

The only donuts I have tried at Bakers are the old fashion donuts. They are so crunchy on the outside and so light on the inside and so delicious that I have never wanted to try anything else. Maybe I have just been lucky and got them when they were fresh, but they are the best old fashion donuts I have had. Unfortunately the donut shop is old and dirty looking with very bad seating and motor oil might even be a compliment for the taste of their coffee.

My 3 star rating is for the doughnuts because they were actually good and fresh. My sister raved how they put ice cream in their doughnuts so we went there but, later in the day on a Saturday so no cronuts or other specialty things were available just a few glazed ones. Which is ok because I wanted glazed and I expect a doughnut place to run out after 12pm it's common. But I was disappointed about the ice cream options there's only like 3-4 flavors to choose from and most of the flavors are unique Asian inspired flavors like thai tea or ube etc the only one I knew what it was, was the mint with oreo cookies. I mean I thought a place advertising that they put ice cream in their doughnuts would at least have vanilla which goes with everything and is a neutral flavor that alot of people like. I had the ube the purple one with a glazed doughnut and it was good. I was just disappointed in the lack of variety there. They don't need to have 10-20 flavors but dang at least go to a store and buy chocolate and vanilla to appeal to some other customers. The 1st time my sister went there she said they ran out of ice cream so we called them to see if they had any ice cream before we went there. Idk maybe the fact I went there for the ice cream in a doughnut is not their speciality but their cronuts are more of their thing. I can't judge those since I didn't try them and they ran out due to use getting their later.

The cronuts are the big thing now and this place needs to be visited by some kind of food network or cooking channel show. This small business is a prime example of customer service and great product. The donuts are fresh and tasty. I even ate one a couple days later after purchase and it was still tasty and moist! (an Apple fritter left in the paper bag and on my table) Yes the cronuts are heavenly, flaky buttery, sweet goodness that will have you forgetting the price and want more. They are $3.-$3.50 each, but use the yelp coupon for 6 off a dozen or if you get 6, they'll give you$1.75 off.. Call ahead for your cronuts and they'll be ready when you arrive, or cross your fingers and hope they'll have some if you walk in. I arrived at 9 am and they just finished making them, so call if you want to see if they have then before then. For such a busy shop, they never sacrifice quality or customer service, that's why I love them.

Been here three times while up in Sac. Every time was past 5 pm so it was slim pickings. Was told last time that we can call ahead of time to reserve an order. I live about an hour away & was going to be in the area today & called to reserve an ordrer to be picked up by 5:30 pm. Was told it had to be picked up by 3 pm. I told the young woman our dilemma of not being able to get there until around 5:30. She said they couldn't hold them past 3 pm because then they waste the order if it's not picked up. I tried to ensure her we would for sure pick it up & even offered her my credit card number to hold or pay for it. She still wouldn't accept my offer to hold an order. Piece of advice/suggestion...accept credit card holds/payments for phone orders. You get paid either way + you get happy customers = smart business. My family & I absolutely LOVE their cronuts...their customer service....not so much.

Ube ice cream filled donut. yum. Thai tea glazed donut was good too. Friendly service, huge selection for such a small place. Glad to see the old spudnuts building still pumping out delicious donuts. KK across the street can learn a thing or two. Definitely going back to try some of the other cronuts.

Went in but they didn't have cream filled at all. Not much selection either. Was really sad to see that ... Left to KK

The owner has great customer service. Cronuts are amazing! Crispy, not greesy. Lighter than donuts. They can even customize flavors for u. My favorite so far is the chocolate with almond cronuts.

Super giant donut. Need I say more? I've been dying to try this treat since I saw Big Black eat one on Rob & Big. But there's no donut place around me that makes it.. that was until my friend told me about Bakers Donuts. Unfortunately they don't make too many of these a day. So you have to go early to get one. The giant donut is probaby the side of 3 donuts together. It's so big & delicious I finished it in one sitting with two of my friends. I then had a sugar high for a few hours afterwards. Not only do they have super giant donuts but they also have plenty of other styles of donuts as well as donut holes! Plus.. they have a DRIVE-THRU!! how cool is that!! Definitely stop by Bakers Donuts once you're done shopping at SF Supermarket. You won't regret it!

I came here for the CRONUTS that everyone been talking bout. its was bout 8 in the morning and they only make it on Tue,Th and Sat. I guess it was my lucky day. they didn't have any out and I ask the cashier. I believe that he ask the owner to come out and I told her what I was looking for. She ask me what I wanted and what kind. I told her I wanted 2 of each kind than she said it be 8, she told me if I get a dozen she give me a discount. So a dozen it is. I like that it was nice hot and fresh. when I took them home. I cut each of them into four pieces so I can try it. The first bit i had was a bit into a burst of oil. OMG made me so disappointed. I was looking forward to trying this for months now. Every bit that I try was just oil. the owner told me that they don't usally look like that. SO i don't know Bu I would love to give them maybe one more try so i can up their stars. But as for now ill have to give them only 2 stars. It was a big dissapointment

So i've gotten donuts here a few times before, everytime i go they always give me some extra donuts. I saw all the buzz about their cronuts and finally decided to try one today. I bought two maple bacon cronut's one for me and a friend. The guy who served me ended up giving me two free donuts. Support Bakers Donuts not Krispy Kreme the people at Bakers have great customer service. Anyways, on to the cronut i had high expectations... and boy was i NOT disappointed! You get the maple flavor then the flavor and crunch of the bacon. It was one of the best things i've had with bacon!!! The maple bacon is $3.50 a bit pricey but they will give you free donuts so not too bad. Do yourself a favor and go try one ASAP! I went around 11 am, make sure you call ahead of time because they run out quick.

I have wanted to try Cronuts for quite awhile now but don't live near a place that serves them. On a trip to Sac me and my wife were finishing up some errands and wanted a snack. I saw a Krispy Kreme near where we were. I decided this would be our destination until I yelped it. Horrible reviews and a competing donut shop across the street with amazing reviews and CRONUTS!!!!! We decided we would go to Bakers instead. I went in and was greeted by a very friendly woman behind the counter. She asked me how I heard of this place and have I ever had a cronut before. I said no. I decided to order two bacon maple CRONUTS and a couple drinks. She threw in 2 free donuts. This is how you get and keep me as a customer. I went back to my car took out the cronut and literally said holy ****. It was delicious. My wife took a bite of mine and immediately said " I want the other one, don't eat it." True love. After I left I almost felt guilty for ever considering to eat Krispy Kreme. It's like having a gourmet pizzeria across the street from a Pizza Hut, but the prices are the same or close to it. I can't recommend this place any more highly and would be willing to make the hour plus long trip to Sac just for these bad boys.

Anytime I've needed donuts, I've gone here. When my dad first started working in this area 15 years ago, I'd always stop by and grab a few twists after school. They'd always give extra little donut holes or extra samples. Their donuts are way better than the Krispy Kreme / Dunkin's! Fortunately, I've moved back to Sacramento, and this place is still around! Nice family owned/ operated donut shop, help them out by buying some delicious donuts! Me Gusta.

Go figure I had two consecutive days of morning meetings that I had to take donuts to. Contrary to my review of my neighborhood donut spot C&K Donuts, Bakers Donuts was a better experience. Guess what? I asked him to just choose the dozen donuts for me and GUESS WHAT... HE DID! No attitude at all. As a matter of fact he smiled and said, "Sure!". AND he threw in the extra one for bakers dozen. He gets a big thumbs up from me. The donuts were tasty too. I had half of an old fashioned glazed, my favorite. :) The only other thing I will say is that the building that Bakers is in looks so small, sad and kinda broken down. Not a fancy donut spot at all but very good and great service.

Don't let the location scare you away from the goodness! My boyfriend and I wanted a nice snack after a day at the park with our son. I've been wanting to come here for sooooooooo LONG definitely glad we finally came. It's been here for years so I don't understand how I missed it. Anyways, great experience all around. Customer service was good. Very helpful and personable. :) my boyfriend got the Thai Tea w/ Fruity Pebbles (LOVED) & I chose the Peanut Butter and Chocolate Donut (AMAZINGLY Delicious!). If you haven't tried it come by, it's amazing for your donut craving. They have so many options to chose from we will definitely be back for more! :)

Talk about donut heaven. Got an assortment of old-fashioned donuts and some cronuts. Everything was beyond tasty. The cronuts were chewy and fluffy. The regular donuts were also super light and fluffy. Cannot go wrong with anything here. Worth a visit! Tip: Try the croissant balls on a stick!

Kudos to the owners for being so successful in the midst of being inches away from a prominent and notable donut establishment. I'm not the biggest fan of donuts, but my boyfriend wanted to try this place out, so it was only appropriate to go right after a long workout. Expect a tiny hole-in-the-wall with high quality donuts. Donuts: Yummy! I bought the oreo+ube and white chocolate+fruity pebbles. I liked the ube! So clever and delicious to have an ube flavor, I've never been to a donut shop that offers such a wide selection of frosting and filling flavors. Legit wide selection to please everyone. Service: Honestly, personally service is crucial to my overall experience, and the owner truly made my day. He was friendly, patient, honest and helpful. I mainly went to Bakers for the cronuts and unfortunately they had just ran out, but he was honest and told me it would be about 20 minutes... maybe more. I told him I drove from the other side of town and I couldn't wait, he told me to call ahead next time. I will definitely take his advice. I ask a lot of Q's and he answered all 10 of them with no hesitation. Price: Good price for good quality! Ambiance: Small, hole-in-the-wall, but well kept donut shop. Friendly staff and the old-fashioned donut shop feel! Overall: I'm not the biggest fan of donuts, but the service, quality and price made it an overall wonderful experience. I'll definitely be coming back for the infamous cronuts!

I don't even eat donuts or cronuts but this place always seems to get me to at least try them Especially since they have so many flavors.. It's about 25 mins from my house but I make the drive because they are just so yummy.. The service is outstanding as well they always go above and beyond to please their customers.

A local gem in the heart of South Sacramento! If you're in your late 20's and mid 30's and grew up in South Sacramento, as a kid you probably came here at least once or twice. Locally owned, Bakers Donuts has been around since 1985. And was one of the few donuts shops in the Area. Today was my first time back here since the I was a kid, and thought it would be a treat to take my boys here for their 1st time as well. The outside and the inside are the same, but their menu has expanded in the last 18 months, making them more notable to to the greater Sacramento area. They kinda had reinvent themselves as Krispy Kreme thought it was a good idea to move in right next door, and try to push this area staple out of business....but no such luck! The competition lit a fire under BD, and that turned into brand new creations that stimulated both your eyes and your tastebuds! We arrived around 10 to a bustling parking lot, and walked up to the small shop. And even though I hadn't been here in over 15 years, it was just like I remembered....until you saw their section of goodies!! You walk in and behind the counter you don't see the basic chocolate and glaze donuts, and instead you see blue, green, yellow, orange, purple, green, and pink's. Some are topped with your favorite cereals or cookies, like Fruity Pebbles and Oreos. And have unique flavors like 'Blue Hippo', Taro, Thai Tea, and Ghirardelli White Chocolate. I got a half dozen assorted donuts and cronuts, and picked up their 'Blue Hippo' (blue mint glaze & Oreo pieces), Thai Tea w/Fruity Pebbles and plain (orange glaze with or without Fruity Pebbles), Ghirardelli White Chocolate cronut (yellow glaze with Oreo toppings), and their chocolate almond caramel cronut. My oldest son wanted the Blue Hippo, and my youngest wanted the plain Thai Tea donut. And of the 6 we got, I tried the Blue Hippo as well. Since I've only tried the Blue Hippo so far, it's the only one I can describe taste wise. The mint and Oreo flavors really complimented each other, and since Oreo's are a chocolate flavor. It was like having a blue mint chocolate mint. Oh and it tasted AMAZING!!! My oldest son said it was the best donut he's ever had. My youngest also love his Thai Tea donut. Now that my boys have had a taste of the "good stuff" they can't wait to go back again. So now it'll probably be a new thing we do, and we'll go on a Saturday or Sunday morning, and each pick out our favorite donut to enjoy! If you haven't been here yet you're totally missing out!!

This review is especially for the Ice Glazers. I'm a huge fan of The Parlor, but I might have turned over a new leaf after trying the ice glazers today. They have four flavors of ice cream: Vanilla Bean, Thai Tea, Taro, and Blue Hippo (Oreo Mint aka Mashed Oreos in Mint ice cream) Two types of toppings: Fruity pebbles and Captain Crunch Just like the Parlor, it's stuffed in a glazed donut, but it isn't warm. However, since it's just a regular glazed donut, it's so easy to eat without ice cream dripping all over you. the ice cream to donut ratio is much bigger as well compared to the Parlor. I was very satisfied with my first try of the Ice glazers for $3.50. The Thai tea ice cream is delicious, on point with the Thai tea taste and the blue hippo is incredible, especially if you're a fan of mint ice cream and Oreos. Looking forward to trying the croissant donuts and their specialty donuts on my next visit.

Pulling up to this location I was pretty hesitant to even get out of the car because of the area and the type of people loitering around the shop. If that didn't turn me away the amount of raw product on the outside of the building should have been a warning. This cannot be sanitary! But it has such good reviews... My wife and I went inside and placed our order. Since they are known for the donut ice cream sandwiches that was my choice. I got a glazed donut with vanilla ice cream and fruity pebbles. WOAH! I don't think I have ever had anything so unnecessarily sweet in my whole life. Now if you've read any of my reviews you know I love sweets, I live for sweets. This was too sweet. I don't think I've ever said that before in my whole life. The donut was freshly made and soft but overly sweet. I don't know what they do differently but one bite of this donut ice cream sandwich was enough for me. I couldn't handle all the sugar. There wasn't even much of a flavor that you could distinguish. It was just so sweet it made my teeth hurt. After my visit I'm still left wondering why this place is rated so highly. I would skip this place and try something else. Honestly, I would have preferred a donut from Krispy Kreme which is right across the street.

These donuts are AMAZING! If you are ever in the area, you definitely HAVE to try them. Though we got a bunch of them, these are the ones that I tried and I loved them all... - Maple Bacon Cronut - you can never go wrong with bacon anything! - Ube with Frutti Pebbles - Thai tea with Frutti Pebbles - Glaze with Frutti Pebbles The only thing I can critique about those tare I wish there were a little more Frutti Pebbles on them. :) These donuts are unique. I've never had an Ube or Thai Tea one, so I was pretty darn excited to have them. Make sure you pick up an order if you're in the area. You can also call ahead and order... that's probably your best bet because they WILL run out. Yes! They're THAT good!

I came here in search of a worthy duplication of Afters in SoCal. It was good but not amazing. The choice of flavors is pretty limited and not as creative in comparison. I got the blue hippo ice glazer with fruit pebbles. The donuts were good, and the ice cream wasn't too sweet. But it was basically what it sounds like, donuts with ice cream, so you can't really go wrong. The location was pretty janky. Pulling up, it looked pretty shady and no one was really around. I think when I came they were about to do some renovations because it looked kinda a mess. It's not a place I crave for, like Afters and I base my love for a place by the simple question "do you wanna go there again?". Sure... if it's on the way, but I'm not going out of my way to get it. I'd go out of my way to go to Afters though.

Innovative pastries. They are definitely aesthetically pleasing to the eyes. When you go to this shop you will not expect what you're thinking. It's a tiny shop. Call ahead of time so you can ask if they still have the cronuts and what varieties. If you call early enough they will even place some on hold for you to pick up. You have to have an incredible sweet tooth for this place. I couldn't even finish my chocolate almond one. It was delicious don't get me wrong! It was just very sweet. They are mainly popular on weekends! I'd recommend this place to someone who wants to try something new. I don't feel like I'd go back since I experienced it already and I wasn't blown away. Cool concept though!

I FINALLY was able to make it down to Bakers Donuts in South Sacramento to try some of their famous cronuts so I took the 30 minute trek down there from where I live. It's very conveniently located right off the freeway which is nice, and also has a drive thru and two parking lots which had more than enough spaces to accommodate a weekend morning when I went. The inside was PACKED because the area to order and where the line is is SUPER small which only adds to everyone's frustration and anxiety. Service was ok, a little less friendly than I had hoped. They have the donuts displayed on a wall behind the counter (and everyone working) so it's really hard to see what they had available. I tried to ask a few questions as to what they had left but was only met with a "whatever is here is what we have". I don't think they realize that I cannot see that far let alone be able to distinguish what each donut is. They don't have a list of what's available either. After some back and forth (and much confusion over who was next) I ordered two Maple Bacon Donuts (they were out of the cronuts), one Chocolate Almond Cronut, one Peanut Butter Chocolate Donut, and one Ube Donut. They threw in some free donut holes as well and I was on my way! The Chocolate Almond Cronut was fantastic! I have had one other cronut before but it didn't even compare to this one. It was amazing! Fresh and fluffy and perfect. The donuts were only average; they are definitely known for their cronuts for a reason! The Ube Donut had a frosting more like play-doh, and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Donut had a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup in the middle but otherwise didn't have much flavor. I would definitely come back to Bakers Donuts for some more cronuts, but would probably skip their donuts next time.

I really admire the concept and creativity Bakers put into innovating the traditional donut most people know of. With that said, I think their donuts are a little bit too sweet for my liking. I called ahead and was lucky enough to save 4 maple bacon cronuts in addition getting a thai tea and ube donut when I arrived. The cronut wasn't as soft and croissant-like as I had expected, but probably because it was already 2PM and had been sitting out for a while. The up part was they did not skimp on the bacon, it was present in every bite! The thai tea and ube donuts were softer and more enjoyable but rather sweet. This is probably because they mix cream cheese into the flavoring, however, because of that the thai tea and ube flavors were only subtly there. There's probably a logistical reason behind doing this, but I just wish the flavors could somehow be stronger. The interior is really really cramped. Pretty much only one group of people at a time can stare at the display of donuts. It was Eileen L. and my first time there and I assume the owners expected we knew what we wanted so there was a little miscommunication due to language barrier. But they are sweet people and usually offer a free donut with your purchase, which is a gesture worth commending them for! That's how you keep your customers comin' back ;).

MAPLE BACON CRONUT ON A STICK! Need I say more? Don't make me say more! Okay, I'll say a little more. The standard donuts will not disappoint, but you don't go here just for a plain donut. The cronuts are the best I've had on the west coast, and possibly in the universe. I tried 4 different cronuts, on and off the stick, and immediately obtained tummy wood. I want to do unthinkable things with these. I also treated myself to standard donuts and was very pleased. Staff is very friendly and happy. Must be from working near these delightful treats. 4 of 5 stars because $22+ for a mix dozen is a bit outrageous. I'll definitely be back, but for a few treats instead of a full dozen.

Yep. Every Sacramento residents on every counties are totally obsessed for this popular bakery creation, the world's famous "cronuts" in this South SacTown's Baker's Donuts. Cronuts is a special bakery item that it shaped as a donuts in a croissant way. Cronuts tasted like croissant with magical flavors of creations from red velvet flavor to Oreos cookies-n-cream flavor. I've tried both flavors, and it taste so good. Yep, the cronuts orders are very popular on demand every day. The best way to make cronuts orders very efficiently, you can call their number, so the bakers will take care for you until the orders has completed and pick it up. The service is well received, and I have no issues or complaints at all! Very friendly and supportive. Overall, Baker's Donuts is the best local donuts shop in the South Sacramento area! I highly recommend that place! You won't regret it!

Donuts are good here. They have a lot of specialty donuts. I came here a few times to pick up some glazed donuts and blue hippo donuts :) I haven't tried their cronuts, but I heard it's good? I ordered a dozen donuts for my friends and it was easy to place an order and it was ready to pick up the next day! This place doesn't have much seating and sell out of their specialty donuts fast, so be sure to go early!

Awesome donuts with many awesome flavors. I'd say the best in Sac. I wish they had the burger truck there more often. I loved the maple bacon donut burger.

Cronuts galore! Although the cronuts here look way too sweet with it's toppings on top of sugar on top of more sugar, they are surprisingly not overly sweet at all! One bite into the red velvet and I knew instantly this was my favorite. It was incredibly flaky and the flavors were just perfect. I didn't get to try many of the other flavors because those disappeared within an hour or being brought home but I am sure they are delicious as well. I will definitely be back to gorge on the Red Velvet whenever I am back in town!

This place is amazing! They have such good cronuts, I only found out about it recently through reading the SNR, but it was definiately worth going to. It would be smart to call and order before going there, so you can get your order fresh. What I also really like is that they have a drive-thru, you don't even have to go inside! But where the bakery is located is in a very not-so-nice area. As for what I ordered, I actually got a 12 pack of cronuts of an assortment of different flavors. But, they didn't last very long as soon as I got home, so delicious! Personally, as a fan of coconut, I really LOVED the coconut cronut and the strawberry one, yummy! But, I'm definiately sold, and I will be going again in the future, especially to try the ice glazer's aka ice cream donuts.

From hearing about all this cronut craze, I had to try it out for myself. Now that I have tried it out, I AM DEFINITELY A FAN! These cronuts are croissants made into donuts and the texture of it is DELICIOUS! My boyfriend and I got here and they only had 5 cronuts left. I told her I'd take ALL of them. Haha on top of that, we ordered a few of their regular donuts as well and she gave us a few dollars off and some free donuts! She knew how excited I was when I first walked in. She felt the good vibes from me. I think it was my good vibes that got me the few dollars off and free donuts. ;) My bf and I tried the sugar/cinnamon cronut right when we got in the car and it was already delicious! I was savoring every moment and bite of it. We also got their red velvet and 2 other ones that we haven't tried yet. I'm trying to save a few for myself tomorrow. I hope I can do it. Haha! Anywho, if you ever want to try a cronut out, come to this place! It's family owned and operated and you'll definitely leave with a happy tummy. You can also call to preorder their cronuts because they don't make too much unless you preorder them. I will now become a regular here and I am definitely supporting this business! Forget about that Krispy Kreme next door, COME HERE! It's allll worth it! :)

So, so, soooo good! I've heard about Bakers but haven't stopped by until yesterday. I visited again today. Might be going by tomorrow also. Did I mention I live 13 miles away. Not close and no real reason to visit that area of town except to get my Cronut fix. I could go on but go try it for yourself. Quite tasty and very pleasant people too. So far, we've had the red velvet and cinnamon cookie butter cronut. Devine. My son thinks their basic donuts are also delicious. Until we meet again Bakers.

So today I cam to bakers ( ON NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY) and they were closed !!!! That's just sad, I even herd a guy say he came all the way from Davis just to buy some doughnuts and they were closed. wow I like this place but come on guys.

I didn't know what the cronut craze was until I tried Bakers Donuts. My BFF is a regular customer here, so when i visited him, this was a must try as he talks about it all the time. The parking area is small. When entering, there are about 2 tables if you choose to sit down and eat, but it looks like everyone takes their orders to go. The ones who run the place are very nice and helped me figure out what to get as they noticed it was my first time there. Smells so good inside i was getting lightheaded! They have various flavors of cronuts, but only make a certain batch at a time. Luckily when we arrived, they just made a fresh batch so my eyes began to get bigger than my stomach. They had various flavors this day from maple bacon, red velvet, something coffee and cookiebutter! COOKIEBUTTERRR!! we opted to get a variety, strawberry shortcake, cookiebutter, oreo, red velvet and something else i cannot remember. EVERYTHING was so GOOD. the first bite and your mouth goes into overdriving asking what the hell did you just bite into, wanting more and more! Try warming it up for few seconds and its even BETTER! They also have donut ice cream sandwiches, using some filipino flavors such as Ube and Buko Pandan. They use their original glazed donut and smack the ice cream in the middle. I was a fat ass and got both Ube and Buko pandan because food, thats why! It may seem ordinary, but it was so good. maybe it was because i was on vacation, that my taste buds were heightened, but whatever, this place is the shit! Definitely call ahead of time if you plan on purchasing a big order of the cronuts. They sell out fast. or they can make a batch for you from what my friend tells me.

  • Amy H.

I was linked of this magical place that has cronuts but are famous for their ice cream donut. I imagined a legit ass donut shop but it was a small shack looking thing that looked like it used to be a taco shack. The cronuts looked old and not fresh but the flavors did look interesting. I knew I had to get the ice cream donut so I got Ube and pandan in the donut. So sweet and ridic and now my mouth is numb. You can literally make this yourself so it ain't no thang. It was built up a lot in my head and it ended up being anticlimatic. Min credit card charge is 10 bucks or just do debit.

I've heard many good reviews about this place, so I finally decided to see what they hype is about their cronuts. I researched that they run out fast, so on a Friday, I called around 8:30AM and ordered a dozen of cronuts. I wasn't familiar with their flavors so I asked what flavors they had. The man on the phone listed so many that it was hard to keep up, so I asked if I can just get a mixed variety but with no coconut and two red velvet in the mix. He said it was no problem. I asked if I can pick it up at around 11:30AM and he explained that that's fine, unless it's past an hour which means that they have to sell the cronuts to someone else. My first reaction when driving up to the place was, "Is this the right place??" The building is really small and the area is sketchy. There are a lot of loiterers. They hang around the parking lot and you really have to be careful driving there because they aren't paying attention to their surroundings. When I went in and asked that I wanted to pick up my order, they hadn't prepped it up. It was already 11:30AM. I waited about 10 minutes and finally got my order. They also included a box filled with free donuts which was really nice. When I got home, I saw that I got a variety of cronuts, but it only had one red velvet cronut, when I specifically asked for two, and they included a coconut one when I had asked not to include one. I was disappointed. However, when I bit into one, I almost forgot about the mix up. I enjoyed the red velvet and maple espresso cronuts. Each cronut is $3.50, but they have a deal when if you buy a dozen cronuts, you get $6 off. Overall, the cronuts are delicious with a great variety of flavors and the staff add extra donuts with your order sometimes, the area is sketchy and always check your order before going home.

Omg best donut!!! Maple bacon, shoot I was super skeptical. IT WAS AMAZING. "Cronut" is crazy good. And they were so nice to my son. He ordered two donuts and a apple juice an the lady gave him some donut holes on the house. This is definatly something I will crave! Damn u Bakers!!!!

Went for my first time not to long ago and omg the lady who works there is super friendly and sweet! She likes it when you communicate with her and that's what I did too :). Can't get over how wonderful she is! She gave my friend and I free simple donuts which was very nice of her. Anyways came here for the cronuts and I got the cookies n creme one? I'm guessing that was the one, the red velvet, butter batter & my friend got the almond chocolate one? I don't the exact names for the cronuts but they all looked so delish! So I had extra cash and wanted to try the bacon cronut. I honestly never tried bacon anything with a sweet food or some sort. BUT THIS BACON CRONUT WAS AMAZING!!! Oh my god. The best !! I love it so much :)! This place is definitely 5 stars, great service & yummy cronuts!

I've been wanting to try cronut for the longest.. i found this place by accident and they have cronut. Lucky me! However, when I got there all the cronut were sold out. Was very disappointed, so I try they regular donut which is still good. The lady told me that their cronut sold out very fast, the best way is to call ahead of time to order cronuts. The next day I call to check if they have cronuts and I was lucky enough that someone order a dozen of cronuts and didn't pick up. I stop by I got myself 4 cronuts and they lady give me discount and throw in some regular donut and donut holes. This place is awesome. Cronut is so good, very tender and texture is to die for.. I only try cookie n creme and glazed. On friday pthey have ube donuts! Double awesome.. Location is next to Krispy Kreme but Bakers donuts taste way better. Support your local business. If you around sacramento, make sure to stop by. Will definitely coming back again.

I like the bacon maple kronut and whe I'm using yelp to check in got $ 6.00 off for a dozen kronut, yay :) Daughter love their doughnut holes and doesn't like to share. Will come back again when we are having a doughnut craving attack :)

Aww man, no more cronuts? It's okay, I'll take everything else... hehe. My boyfriend and I tried the ube fruity pebble, thai tea fruity pebble, and green tea donuts. Don't know another place I can find these donut flavors. My boyfriend has a sweet tooth and ate most of them and said they were A-OK. I ate the ube and thought it was pretty good. The donut itself was super moist! I want to try the cronuts next time. The girl working suggested that we call ahead of time and she can reserve it.

My first time coming here I was only able to order one cronut since they ran out so quickly. The lady in the front was so helpful and kind. She even offered free donuts to me since they ran out of cronuts. She also offered advice that I should call at least ONE day ahead to order cronuts so it can be available for me. And so I did! I called a day ahead and they reserved a dozen cronuts for me. I told them to just put whatever they thought was good inside lol I let them choose which cronuts to put in. Which was good because they gave me a variety of flavors. Cronut wise: IT'S SOOOOO GOOD! It's exactly what you think a cronut will taste like, and the texture is to die for. If you're living in sac or passing by, definitely try this place out. It's a mom and pop shop so we should definitely support local businesses. Location: it's next to Krispy Kreme but man Bakers donuts taste better in my opinion. You can get Krispy Kreme anywhere else you know?

  • TRACY R.

I thought this place was going to close down after Krispy Kreme moved in next door. However, it just forced Bakers to step up the donut game to the next level!!! And that level would be CRONUTS!!! I'm so glad that this place is thriving!! They still have the best regular donuts AND now they have the most amazing cronuts I've ever had. Soft and flaky, different topping sand flavors. You have to try one!!! Do it now!! Mind you 6 cronuts were about $18. Regular donuts are still the same price. Definitely worth the yummy goodness!!

Showed up all the way from Lodi. Wasted my gas, and they only had muffins left at around 7:20pm. Disappointed. If your a donut shop, then you should be serving DONUTS till closing time. In that case when you run out of donuts might as well close the donut shop.

Donut ice cream sammies! Finally a place closer to home! I've been looking for a place similar to After's Ice Cream in SoCal who make their version called "Milky Bun" Over here they call it "Ice Glazer" I came in wanting to try one of these bad boys out to see how it compares to the one in SoCal. it's not bad, I mean let's face it, any ice cream sandwiched in between a glazed donut is delicious! However I just wish they had more ice cream flavor options and I wish the donuts were warm when served. That would've been just so much better. Oh well, I'll take what I can get. I do wanna try their cronuts, but everytime I come in they're sold out. So it definitely looks like they're killing the game in the department. But I guess I'm gonna have to find out for myself next time.

Hit or miss. I love mom and pop shops and I love donuts. Which is why it's hard to write a less than stellar review for this place. When the kids are helping and running the place it's so much better. Their customer service is great and they are super personable. The donuts are on point. When the older people (maybe the parents) are working it's just not as good. Customer service is not the same and the donuts can be greasy and overly sweet. We really like the creativity and uniqueness of the flavors. Just wish they were more consistent.

First of owners are great people! I showed up asking for 5 dozens, I was stupid enough to not call ahead, but they still made it happen even though they were super busy. Their donuts are definitely one of the must try guilty pleasures. Highly recommend their bacon maple glazed donuts. My next mission is to try their cronuts! Oh and their croissant with ham and cheese is also bomb!

place is very dirty. The lady has horrible customer service. Tried the donut with ice cream and it is delicious. But cleanliness and customer service are priority to me as a paying customer.

This place is beyond amazing. I have heard about this place for a good 3/4 months and how good it is, but hey! You never know how good it is until you try it.. And that day for me was today. I have got there in the afternoon when there wasn't as much people. I didn't know what to get so the worker helped me out and suggested some few things for my friend and I. However, my friend and I ended up getting one Vanillia Bean Ice Glazers ( basically ice cream donut ) , Donut Holes, Red Velvet and Bacon Cronuts which was extremely good! It's a plus when the service is great and the worker is super nice and friendly. You might think it's pricey for donuts but for the quality and quantity you get is so worth it!! Definitely will be coming back real soon to try some new flaming flavors. :-) PS: I forgot to take a picture of my beautiful vanilla bean ice glazer because.. When I saw it.. I just had to eat it because it just looked THAT amazing.. Sorry!! :X

Had to have an ice cream donut at this place after seeing them on channel 31 Good Day. I called to make sure they had them available. The gal said not a problem. My husband and I decided to go through the drive through. This place of business has been here for years! On top of that they are across the street from Krispy Kremes but I had one thing on my mind was to try their donut ice cream sandwich. I asked for the glazed donut with chocolate ice cream. The gal offered me to try the über ice cream and I was sold! I was a happy camper after that. Plus we also purchased the maple bacon Cronut. Omg to die for. My husband said the price was cheaper here than the place he purchased one for me downtown. Plus this one was much better taste wise. Get your donut filled ice creams today and Cronuts here. You will thank me!

The place was a little old, dirty, and run down. Didn't get to try the cronut because they were sold out. So I tried the Thai Tea donut which was pretty good. The custard in the custard chocolate donut was a little too sweet. I think this place is a little over rated. I've had a lot better donut at other mom and pop places.

Years ago I used to live off Florin and discovered this place. I used to buy my twin boys a dozen donut holes for $1. This was when my twins were still in car seats and the drive through was very convenient for me. The owner always gave me a few extra donut holes for stopping in. Coming here was always a treat. We moved out of the south area about 5 years ago and of course found donut shops in Elk Grove. Recently we were on Florin and were shocked to see a Krispy Kreme across the street from our favorite donut shop. We bought our usual bag of donut holes which have only gone up to $1.25. Came home and read the Yelp reviews and glad to see others were dismayed to see KK across the street as well. It just has made me more determined to support this family run shop. Since that evening I have stopped in a few more times and to sample their famous cronuts! What a delicious discovery. So flaky and light and of course sinfully sweet. A little more than your average donut at $2.50 a piece but a nice treat to have once in a while. I have only had the glazed but want to try the cream filled one too. I hope Bakers continue to be successful, the owners son actually told me many customers leave KK to come over and give them a try. Tell them you Yelp and they may give you a discount. Keep up the good work Bakers. I am a fan!

This small mom and pop shop serves THE BEST cronuts in town! Don't let the outside appearance fool you, there's a ton of sweeeet goodies inside. The owners are very friendly and are always welcoming. I've come here mid-day and there usually isn't much on display during the time so they will accommodate you and you can place a specific order on the spot. No other cronuts can compare --- they are sweet, buttery, flakey and very tasty. The must try is the maple bacon and red velvet (of course). I will definitely come back to try their flavored glazed donuts (thai tea and taro) and also their ice cream donut sandwiches -- can't wait!

My friend brought a dozen cronuts to my birthday bash and I was a bit skeptical since the original hype was in New York and this place in sac was non existent to me. My friend got 3 different kinds of cronuts, bacon, some kind of powdered one and chocolate chip peanut butter kind. I am a bacon person but sweets with breakfast food is a bit of an off combo. First bite, LOVED it! OMG it was the best thing EVER. Bacon gives the cronut an extra texture that makes it even more amazing. It has the croissant texture in the middle and it's perfectly flaky/chewy. I'm tempted to drive up right now so I can be first in line tomorrow. I am also curious to see what other flavors they have. Perhaps something with a sweet fruity kick? That would be delicious. Seriously this place is Amazing!!!

Came here yesterday to try their donuts based on all i have seen on instragram. They have specialty donuts i was interested to try. We got there at 10am and to my surprise the shop it self is super tiny. Kind of hard to see what donuts they have available. The specialty donuts are $3.50 each so kinda pricey. I got a dozen donuts & my daughter picked out one specialty donut. The donuts were good, the raspberry jelly & crumb donut were my favorites but they were nothing out of the ordinary just a regular donut shop but it does have a drive thru. The people that were there looked like family & were very friendly and they sell tshirts too which is cute. I don't know if i will return or not considering its a drive for me but they were alright just not quite what i was expecting.

Okay, let's be honest...if you're wary of certain parts of town, this might be too questionable a location for you. If it were just my husband and I, no issue whatsoever but since we were with the kids, we did have to rush inside as the homeless individual followed us in asking for various items. BUT, the service was absolutely disarming. Definitely a mom and pop shop and the mom was super sweet. We ordered the ice glazer (ice cream sandwiched between a sliced donut) and they came out nicely proportioned and actually neat/tidy for an ice cream sandwich. She noticed we like Ube so she gave us a complimentary Ube cake donut as well as some donut holes. Will come back again but will perhaps use the convenient drive thru next time.

It seems like more and more people are finding out that they sell cronuts, because there has been a big increase of reviews within a short time period. It's usually hard for small mom and pop stores to survive because of big chains, but in this case I say Bakers Donuts will beat out Krispy Kreme, which is right next door. Thanks to Instagram, I was able to discover this hidden gem. I've wanted to try a cronut for the longest time and now there is a place which is close to me. The store is small, so most likely you'll be taking the items to go. The mom/son were really friendly and were all smiles. They seem really proud of their product. There are a variety of different flavors. I had the maple bacon and red velvet cronut. I liked the maple bacon one and finished it off quickly, but it was a little greasy. It was a perfect combination of sweet and salty. The red velvet one was a bit sweet for my taste buds. Like a croissant, there were several layers to them and the exterior was a bit crispy. If you haven't had a cronut yet, then you definitely have to come here!

Best donut in Sacramento, hands down! Great classics and fun unconventional twists. The family that runs the joint is super cool. They are also one of the most creative users of Instagram.

The hype is real. Donuts are awesome, Cronuts are awesome, Donuts + Ice cream = more awesomeness. My only complaint is the ube cake donuts are super yummers but only available on weekends (I'm never in the area to get any)!

Omgaaaaah!! The best donuts+ice cream ever!!!!! I came here a few days ago and only got their donut holes, but those were pretty bomb. And today, I decided to try something better; ice glazers! I came here around 4 and there were no cars in the lot and I thought they were closed, luckily they weren't! So the bf and I walked in and the first thing I saw was a sign saying "Ice Glazers $3.50" with all the ice cream flavors and toppings. I ordered a vanilla bean with fruity pebbles, whereas the bf ordered taro. I ordered a dozen donut holes along with it and my total was only $7.75! Since they only had 9 donut holes left, the lady boss threw in an extra donut and only charged me $.75 for the 9 donut holes, which I thought was very kind of her. What I ordered wasn't overly sweet and it was so yum!! It was like... Tasting the rainbow, literally (because of the colorful fruity pebbles of course.) This is a great place for donuts and honestly, I prefer this over Krispy Kreme any day! And they're right next to each other. I have yet to try their cronuts! Maybe next time! I'll be back soon :)

Tehehe so I'm the friend Dung N. and (maybe?) Linda N. were referring to in their reviews and am so relieved that they enjoyed their cronuts as much as I did!! So I was referred to Bakers by a friend who knew I was a huge fan of Sweet Dozen's cronuts. I decided to stop by on my day off and was surprised they had 4 different flavors to choose from! Glazed, red velvet, maple espresso and caramel almond nut. Because of my disappointing trip to American Sweetie, I learned not to go overboard by buying too many cronuts at once so I just had the original glazed and maple espresso with a large white mocha! Each cronut was $3.25 and the white mocha $3.75. First, let's start with the white mocha! It's from Java City so it was pretty good. However, I'd add an extra shot or 2 of espresso next time. As for the cronuts...score!! They were both delicious; not too sweet, a bit crunchy and a bit flaky. The only downer is that they're more oily than the ones from Sweet Dozen so after a few hours, the cronut ended up tasting more like a donut. Their donut holes are amazing, too! Next time, I must try this Nutella cronut Linda N. mentioned. Also, it would be amazing if they started making cinnamon coated cronuts like a Sweet Dozen. *wink wink* =D The owners of this mom and pop donut shop are the nicest people ever and they even have a drive thru! I will definitely become a regular at this joint. Move over, Krispy Kreme..

You know they say you can't buy happiness but you can buy Ice Cream Donuts which is kind of the same thing aka Heaven. This hole in the wall has the best fusion donuts I've ever had in my entire life!!! Donuts-these aren't just your average donuts they have some for the salty sweet sweet lovers like maple bacon and some more unique flavors like Ube and Thai Tea. Cronuts-I've gone twice now and they were sold out! You gotta order these babies like an hour prior to coming but they all look amazing. Dying to try Maple Bacon, Red Velvet, and Cookie Butter crumble something!! Lastly their Ice cream donuts....my mouth waters just thinking about. Best thing ever! The ice cream doesn't melt out like in Ice cream sandwiches, it soaks in the donut and just makes it ooey gooey goodness! they are a must try!! Service-super friendly even saw the owner throw some donuts in for free for his regulars $$- for cronuts they can be pretty pricey but I'm sure worth every penny!

So the first time I went here it was pretty late and I only got a regular donut, second time I was smart and ordered ahead. I tried the captain crunch & fruit pebbles and BOY WAS IT GOOD!

Bakers donuts is hands down the best place in California to get croissant donuts! It's family run so everyone and everything is authentic. It's not too fancy or spacious but then again it's a donut shop so it's not a problem. Croissant donuts are always made fresh with at least an hour prep time before ordering. These serve great for parties or a fancier breakfast for a loved one. It's location is very easy to find.

Today was my first time going to bakers donuts. I decided to try their ham and cheese croissant, delicious!!!! I was very happy. However lady was rude. To her, my friends credit card was weird and did not work with their machine and started giving us attitude. Sorry but i work as a cashier/waitress and going somewhere were the employee is rude makes me feel disrespected bc i never greet customers in that tone. I will be going back but maybe ill try the bakers donut in fruit ridge. P.s i wish i had another croissant right now :D

Tried my first cronuts here and they were amazing. They're still the best I've tried so far compared to the cronuts in SoCal. I love their creative flavors and the way they glazed their cronuts to be so appealing not only to my taste buds but also to my eyes. The price is pretty decent compared to the other places I've been to, $3.50 for one cronut. And the 3 times I've been here, I've always called in to ask the lady to set aside the ones I want for later pickup (because they are known for running out later in the day). And when I go pick up she always throws in a couple of free Donuts :) They also have donut ice cream sandwiches! I've tried their Ube and pandjelly (with actually jelly inside) and the flavors were definitely there! I've yet to try their Ube, Thai Tea and green tea Donuts! But hopefully sometime in the near future :9 I would come here everyday if it were not for my healthy conscious lifestyle and if it the drive weren't so far from my apartment.

These donuts and cronuts are on high demand right now!!! I came here because there was an article circulating facebook about this establishment and their magnolia ice cream donuts. Beforehand my coworker kept talking about these cronuts and I was intrigued with curiosity on what does a cronut tastes like. I came here on a Saturday around 11am and they were dead, however, they ran out of cronuts and ice cream donuts. The gentleman working the counter told me that they will make a new batch and it will be ready by 130pm and recommended me to call in your order so they will reserve some for me. So i called in around 130pm and the lady informed me it will be ready 3pm. When I got there before 3pm, there was a line out the door! What's funny was that there is a Krispy Kreme next door and it wasn't busy as Bakers Donuts haha. The people who work here were really nice, helpful, and patient. Let me tell you, it was bussyyyyy and everyone was ordering their cronuts and ice cream donuts. It was line out the door busy! Great for business! I got the donut ice creams and the cronut. I ordered the Ube, Thai, and Green Tea ice cream donuts. The donut ice creams were good to try, however, the donut can overpower the taste of the ice cream. The flavor can be unbalance. I like the idea of using Magnolia Ice Cream! That's that premium ice cream! It was a good dessert on a hot Sacramento summer day! The cronut was on point, crisp to perfection! I would describe the cronut as a churro in donut form. I had the ube cronut and it was icing on the donut! the ube enhance the flavor of the cronut. Best Cronut i ever had! Overall, If you are a big donut fan, this is the place for you. You'll be supporting local businesses! To be honest, I'd rather come here than the Krispy Kreme across the street. These are the kinds of foods I'll take my friends who are out of town visiting. I'll take them here for dessert. Definitely check it out!

If you can make your way past all the down-on-their-luck folks loitering in the old, dirty parking lot, you'll be rewarded with some mighty delicious baked goodies. I used my "sweetdeals" coupons from SN&R (saved 50%) and finally got to try Sacramento's most popular cronuts. They did not disappoint! They truly were flaky and fresh, and just slightly oily. They had about 6 different flavors left to choose from on my visit. Of course I got the famous maple bacon and red velvet. I also got the toasted coconut, one with chocolate chips, and another with almonds. They weren't as sweet as they look, which is alright in my book. I can't stand pastries that are sickly sweet (like the donuts across the street!), so these were perfect, especially the bacon maple. What a great combination of salty and sweet. One cronut will set you back $3.50, but if you buy 6 or more, I believe you get some sort of discount. Also, if you check-in on the Yelp ap, you get $6 off a dozen. Tip: If the parking lot turns you off, you can use their drive-thru window. I just had to see for myself (looking at the pastry case) what I've been missing. Don't miss out!

Bless the souls of their owners and bless my poor heart because it is weak from how good this place was. First of all, their Iced Glazers or the ice cream sandwiches were amazing. You can't get any better than a fluffy donut with Filipino ice cream flavors that remind you of your childhood. Then of course, the Cronuts. The texture was just right. You have the crunchy exterior you expect out of a fresh croissant and the fluffy interior as well. You can tell the dough wasn't overworked because the layers are visible and it wasn't tough. That's the mark of class act croissant. It wasn't too sweet and even the presentation was more than pleasing. The service was top notch. You had a brother and sister team manning the front and they were such a joy to talk to. They gave us free donut holes and extra Cronut with our purchase and having the yelp check in offer made the deal even sweeter. Overall, I highly recommend this place to everyone to come and try. Meanwhile, the Krispy Kreme on the other side could take a note on how to step up their game because their lot looked pretty empty and we all know the reason why.

Before writing my review, I visited Bakers Donuts twice so I could write a well-rounded review. But I'll start at the beginning: FIRST VISIT: -PHONE EXPERIENCE: Prior to visiting, I called in to pre-order and ask a few questions. This was a little off-putting because there isnt a menu to order from, no names of donuts to be found online anywhere, and most shockingly the person who answered the phone made it really clear that they didnt have time to be on the phone...i dont even know what to say about that...its confused me to be blatantly rushed off a 45 second phone call by an business. Nevertheless, I called back and was able to pre-order for the following day. With no menu, this took some time. -DRIVE-THRU EXPERIENCE: When we picked, we did the drive-thru and since i'm assuming this is a family business - i'm guessing it was the son that served us. MAN WAS HE AWESOME. He was super happy to help us, really appreciative of our business and even threw in a free Ube Fruity Pebble Donut. SECOND VISIT: -PHONE EXPERIENCE: This time I tried to call and pre-order but the woman who answered asked me to call back. So rude. I did not. -IN-STORE EXPERIENCE: We showed up a bit early i'll admit, but seeing as there is no information online whatsoever we showed up before the cronuts were done. That was disappointing. We suffered the same inconvenience in store as we did online and on the phone - NO NAMES FOR ANYTHING. The guy who served us shorted us a donut and ultimately didnt seem like he was interested in helping us at all. Donut quality is excellent. Absolutely zero complaints here which is why, despite the STRANGE service experiences, you still get 4 stars. Key Takeaways as a Customer: - Pre Order the day before - Use the Drive-thru if you can - Dont bother calling if you have any questions - Only patronize this business when the son is working because he's the biggest asset they have in customer service. Suggestions for the business: - Launch a menu online that includes ALL your flavors (and maybe some images or descriptions) - Update your Instagram with your daily menu if you provide different varieties -Work on the customer service aspect a little bit. Hire some younger peeps who are friendly.

Oooooh My Goodness!! I am in HEAVEN!! I found this place off of another Yelp reviewer. It's a small little place but foot traffic moved quickly. When we pulled into the parking lot I was kinda skeptical. Small parking lot so it filled up quick. We pulled around the corner and walked. I laughed because Krispy Kreme (so.?) was next door with only a couple of cars. So I have a craving for cronuts. BAM! Fresh Maaaaple Baaaacon Cronuts!! Holy Batman!! It was DELISH!! Warm...fluffy...sweet...salty...PERFECT!! I loved it. Will be back soon.

Love the cronuts!!! I always place a pick up order of a dozen assorted cronuts and they always have it ready for me b the time I arrive. They do run out of te cronuts if you show up later in the morning. Check into the business on Yelp and they will give you a discount. Love the cronuts and it's a special treat for out of town guest. Everyone loved it!

No star at all for me. Drove down South Sacramento enticed by scrumptious-looking pictures of donut ice cream sandwiches and discovered almost nothing available. Ordered the Blu Hippo anyway and not all close to what the pic looked like.

I follow them on Instagram and have been dying to go, so we finally were able to today! We got there around 10am and it was pretty busy, but the line went by quickly! We ordered 2 maple bacons, 1 fruity pebble, 1 Cronut, 1 Oreo mint and 1 Reese's donut! They were all sooooo amazing! My favorites were the maple bacon, Cronut and fruity pebbles! The service was fast and friendly. I would totally recommend coming here. It's a little bit of a drive if you are coming from the Roseville and Citrus Heights area like us, but totally worth it!! They also gave us a few free doughnut holes! Like I said, great customer service! Follow them on Instagram for mouthwatering pictures!

If I could give them ten stars, I would for today's service. I went to Bakers early this morning at around 5 am and they didn't have cronuts ready yet, which was cool because we were coming back to the area in the afternoon. So future note to self, call ahead of time to see when they have cronuts available. Knowing that they run out hella fast, we put an order down for 5 cronuts to pick up this afternoon. But, we were still hungry and we were already there so heck, we ordered ham and cheese croissants and hands down, it was probably the best one I've ever had. I'm kinda glad that they didn't have cronuts that early or else I wouldn't have tried that croissant! Came back in the afternoon and they had our order ready on time. ALSO they threw in 2 free glazed cronuts with our order! We decided to get more donuts for our friends so we pretty much wiped out the rest of their special donuts AND they threw in more free regular donuts AND gave us a discount. Amazing right? I didn't even talk about the cronut yet. I had a red velvet cronut and it was.....wait, I'm not gonna spoil it for you because it's something you have to experience for yourself and trust me, it's amazing.

Best donuts in Sacramento. Marie's on Freeport comes close, but Bakers is king. Donuts are always varied, and unique. Ice cream donuts and the cronuts are amazing. Staff is awesome too. Every time I would go late in the afternoon , the staff would throw in free donuts with my order. Been coming here since a kid, krispy kreme right next door doesn't stand a chance.

The Evolution of donuts is here, at this very place! ! Cronut - A donut that is big in size but surprisingly light. It's bread but it doesn't fill you up like a regular donut would. Also comes in lots of Flavors or combinations. Krispy Kreme is right next door but everyone would rather grab a donut here. It's unique and it really is the best donut I ever had. If you haven't tried one, you need to get one ASAP My advice for ordering goes as follows... - Call in advance if u want a dozen. It's best to let them know a day ahead or early in the morning. They sell cronuts all day but some are more popular than others and they do run out. -Most popular cronuts are maple bacon, red velvet, and cookies and cream -The location does seem kinda sketch. Even in the day time, so just be aware of your surroundings Last but not least, the staff here is very friendly. As long as your buying a couple they always throw in regular donuts. They will even sometimes give a discount for buying a dozen or more

I decided to come here after I found out they made red velvet cronuts since I absolutely love red velvet everything. I have had cronuts at various other places in Sac and this one is by far my favorite. It was light and chewy and had the perfect amount of red velvet in it. I went with my boyfriend and he got the brown sugar cronut and the donut holes which he loved. The donut holes werent completely glazed so it wasn't overly sweet and the cronut was just as perfect. What was nice about this place is that I called ahead to see if they had red velvet cronut and the guy asked if him to hold one for me. How awesome is that, you can call ahead and hold an item. When I got there I was also impressed by the selection of various flavors for the cronuts since I have ever seen the basic ones. The service here was awesome, the guy I spoke to on the phone was super nice and professional and when I went into the store the guy was telling me about how he wanted to try to make different flavors for cronuts and see how they do. You can tell this place really cares about making a good product. Also might as well go here versus the krispee kreme next door because its better and its always better to support local mom and pop shops.

Service was great! I think the guy with the glasses is the owner. Super nice! We got the maple and bacon, peanut butter crumb and chocolate with almond. They were great! It's not like a croissant dressed up like a donut. The cronuts had more chew than a croissant. Must. Get. More. NOW!

I'm so ecstatic that this mom and pop store is still surviving next to Krispy kremes. I never noticed it till one day I magically stumbled upon it on yelp. I usually drive to the bay to find this such thing they called "cronut" I was thrilled to find a local place right down the street from my work place. This could be dangerous though :x I walked in, and the owner was helping another customer. She looked rather irritated at them because their child was screaming and jump around the place. I wouldn't blame her. When she got to me, she looked at me and pointed and said you came for this huh? I smiled and said yes!! I was so happy until she told me that each cronut was 3.50! I was sad to hear the price so I only got four. She told me she would give me a dollar off. So that turned my mood around just a little bit. On to the selections! There is everything from bars, to bear claws, to basic donuts. My cronut was amazing. Flaking and moist just like a crossaint, and the texture was like a donut. I'm so thrilled I found this place. I will come every so often because the price is steep, and it doesn't help when you have strangers coming in demanding free donuts and water. I was scared for my life!

I am a donut lover :) I've always looked forward to try different donut places. This mom & pop donut shop is wonderful! The donuts, cronuts, and ice cream cronuts are great! I've tried all three and they are visually appealing and most importantly, they taste great! I first checked out this place about two years ago to buy regular donuts (maple bars/buttermilk bars) and they were tasty! So remember to pick up some regular donuts as well! My friends and I went yesterday to try the special cronuts and ice cream donut. Had a wonderful experience. My friends and I split an ice cream (half pandan and half ube) red velvet cronut on the spot and it was very refreshing and tasty! yumz!!! The marriage of the red velvet cronut and ice cream was def. a party in my mouth. We only wanted to split one since it was our first time trying it and we did also splurge and bought 19 cronuts! We love variety. However, next time, I will eat a whole ice cream cronut on my own! If this place were to be closer to where I live, I'd pick up a dozen at least once every month for my lab :)

I was so happy to have found a place in the south that sells cronuts, I recently lived up north.... Maybe people in this area do not know how a cronut is suppose to taste. For me, the cronuts here are somewhat hard, dry, kind of stale, and not "airy" or light. Flavor wasn't there and it was a bit salty. Guess I have to drive all the way to Madison for my cronut cravings. 2 stars only because my daughter likes all the color selections and they have interesting flavors like Thai tea and ube.

Yummo donuts...better tasting and more hardy than Krispy kreme...their donuts are not too greasy, not too sweet and just a very good basic donut...love the large variety they offer and great customer service!

I love this place. Its soo good. Im so in love with the house cream! I love the bacon maple cronut. The red velvet is too sweet and I didnt get the red velvet concept. Its just regular cronut with red velvet cake crumble all over it. I also called in my order at 6am, I asked for red velvet with house cream and I didnt get it. She said she wrote every word I said over the phone. They said they couldn't do it anyways. I got plain cronut with house cream, it was awesome. But still. I never had cronut before until I came here and it was very enjoyable eating a cronut minus the phone order incident. One thing I didnt like is its overly over price. On positive note, they have Java coffee here. I couldnt pass it up. Their large iced coffee look like medium. I still need to go back for the ice cream sandwiches. Drools!

How...how are you gonna put ube ice cream into a glazed donut?? Gahhh, best idea ever, especially in triple digit Sacramento heat. Other ice cream flavors include: pandan, thai tea, green tea and vanilla bean. Ice-cream filled donuts go for $3.50. Bakers is also famous for their cronuts which I have yet to try.. will be back :]

Seriously nice ppl early in the morning!! Had to be part if the cronut nation!! Two old ladies playing cards, so adorable and staff were so friendly! These cronuts are gems!!

Came in around 5 pm and was the only one there. The owner was very nice and generous! Got the red velvet cronut, oreo cronut and was given 2 donuts on the house all for $3. The cronuts were really fluffy and totally addicting. Will be back next time to try the maple bacon cronut

Cronuts are AMAZING!! totally worth the drive from Stockton! They were out when we got there, but they were making more so we were given a card to place our order. Got a call about an hour later saying they were ready. Toasted coconut is the truth!!!

I love you! The flavored croissant donuts are bomb. Went here last Saturday but they were sold out. It was only 2pm! Luckily my friend placed orders for pick up the following day. Yummy, they weren't too sweet

This little donut shop is pretty awesome. I just got a dozen cronuts. Rite now, get a dozen cronuts and get 6 dollars off. I did come here yesterday around 2pm and they ran out. So today i called in my order. Its probably for the best anyways cause they make it on order. Which was pretty awesome cause my first bite of the cronut was warm. The cashier was super friendly, she gave me some donut holes cause i had to wait a few minutes when i went to pick it up. So far i tried the maple bacon and maple almond. Both were really good. I like the bacon one, it was sweet and salty. I would definitely come back to this place to try their donut ice cream sandwiches. Yum! Oh yeah, its next to a kripsy kreme. I dont know why they open next to bakers. I dont even know any krispy kreme that actually made it in Sacramento. Im all team BAKERS Haha. #TEAMBAKERS

This place has mouth-watering donuts, period. They're also sometimes nice enough to give you some freebies. The maple bacon Cronut is on point! I like that it's not too sweet :D yaaaay for donuts and cronuts!!!

  • S S.

This is such a hidden gem! Visiting friends in the area and we were taken here to try their cronuts. It was my first time trying cronuts ever, and I was pleasantly surprised. Their cronuts are beyond delicious, especially the maple bacon. I normally stay away from sweet and salty mixtures, but was talked into trying this, and boy am I glad I tried this! Will definitely be stopping back again next time! :)

The little donut joint was so good my stomach was happy .. The price was inexpensive and they have a variety of difference ice cream flavor and the donuts are amazing

Best donuts anywhere. The cronuts will drive you mad. They're phenomenal. Their flaky texture paired with some sweet, sticky concoction, my favorite is the male bacon. I love the sweet and salty! I've been coming to this same location since I was a kid. The owners may have changed, (I don't know if they have), but the quality is still there!

  • Jav L.

They have some pretty delicious donuts, the older lady at the counter is really cool, usually gives me a new donut to try last time she gave me a blueberry one which i have no clue what it was called and it was DELICOOUUUS! their ice cream donuts are ok too, but their other special donuts like the one with oreo cookies or the ones with cereal, theyre so sweet and soft, and make you regret eating every delicious sugary bite but when you finish the first one you want to get a glass of milk and get another one and then regret it all later once youre done, but crave another one. Dam you guys. I want a donut from you guys now.

The apple fritter is giving me shesst pains like it was made by the mighty hand of Ghawd and I am unworthy to wield its intensity. I need to go the fucking hospital but I'm at work right now so for now I have to rely on the ancient Chinese medicine, 7-up to heal my body. I've never been here before and I am unaware of the hype of this place but apparently it's super popular because we came after a 2 hour rush of customers ordering all the fucking cronutts and other hyped donut flavors. All that was left was a few jellies and a shitload of apple fritters, which is slowly eating my heart and working its way to my motor functions. i'm dying

I drove all the way out here to see what the hype is on these Cronuts! The place is a little hole in the wall, very tiny. I was upset by the service I received considering how great everyone says it is! The young man was very nice and helpful but the two ladies working were not! They both seemed to be in a bad mood. And at the end I asked one of the ladies for a box and she looks over to see what I have left on my table and just shrugs her shoulders as if she didn't want to give me a box! Didn't say nothing to me when she handed it. Never received a hello or thank you from them. Now let's talk these Cronuts! I might be the only person on here to say I didn't like Cronuts :( I was so bummed. Tried the mocha maple, and the one with chocolate chips and maple I think........ I bit into the mocha one and it was soooo greasy! I couldn't finish it. Unfortunately, I wish I could jump on the Cronut band wagon but they weren't my cup of tea. I will say that the glazed donut with French vanilla was donut heaven! That was delicious! I think I will stick to my local donut place and add ice cream myself!

Tried Baker's Donuts for the first time today since I just moved around the area. I bought a red velvet cronut for $3.50. I never had a cronut before but heard they're really famous, so I had to give it a try. I have to say, the texture is so delicious. It's flaky, and crispy just like a toasted croissant. Mmmmmmm, will be back when I'm in the area!!!

  • Maria Poala L.

Best cronuts! Must try! I love the one with bacon. And almonds! Nom nom The lady is really nice and gives discount if you buy a lot, I bought a dozen and she gave me like 4 free donuts!

Went in for 1 came out with 13. I just couldn't choose! The donuts were all delicious. The staff was super helpful and friendly! It was worth the drive!!

Came on a Sunday at about 12pm. Still plenty of cronuts to purchase. They do have a variety of flavors to choose from but I decided on four flavors: Red Velvet: My favorite from here. Appealing to look at and tastes amazing. I highly recommending trying this flavor out. The cronut is basically rolled in red velvet cake crumbles and drizzled with an icing on top. So simple yet so tasty Original glazed: If you are trying out a cronut for the first time then you gotta have an original to visually see what a cronut really is and kind of appreciate this unique hybrid! Chocolate with almonds: This is exactly how it sounds. Nothing fancy. I think it needs more chocolate and should be cream filled! Chocolate chip with cookie butter: Just like the chocolate with almonds. Very simple and I expected more. We ordered four cronuts and it came out to about 12 dollars. So about 3 dollars a cronut. The lady who rung me up said she discounted $1.50 since I bought 4. I thought that was pretty awesome. Most places sell their cronuts for about 4 dollars and I have even seen cronuts for 4 dollars. So this is by far the cheapest place to get your cronuts. The consistency of this donut/croissant hybrid is pretty much on spot here. When I cut the cronut in half, I can see the layers inside the cronut. That was pretty awesome. Not as greasy and not burnt like I have seen other places. They cronuts also look so tasty looking! I have had cronuts elsewhere and I am able to compare. This place makes it good for the price and taste. Its hard to find cronuts in Sacramento and so this place is pretty much the best you can get here. My only complaint is that most places that make cronuts usually have the options of cream filled cronuts. I feel with how big the cronuts are that they can be a little dry and with a little extra cream inside the cronut can really enhance the flavors! Maybe next time when im here, I will ask if they can make the cronuts cream filled.

Maple Bacon Cronut... don't even bother asking questions. GET ONE. or two... or three. or twelve. Yeah, yeah.... cronuts are all the rage right now. This little mom and pop shop has battled the giants like the krispy kreme across the street - but the love and passion can be tasted in their cronuts. The lady working the front is super nice and accommodating! 10/10, would eat again. Srs.

  • Jennifer N.

Food: A cronut is a mix between a donut and a croissant. It's both flaky and doughy AKA amazing deliciousness. - Glazed cronut: good but it was my least favorite. 3/5 - Red velvet cronut: very sweet, a little too sweet for me. 3/5 - Maple bacon cronut: this was my favorite! I didn't expect to like it so much. Apparently I like sweet and savory :) 4/5 - Chocolate almond cronut: this was my second favorite. The almonds gave a nice crunch! 4/5 Service: The guy was very friendly. He gave a lot of recommendations and even gave us some free donut holes! 5/5 Final thoughts: I'm not huge on sweets for breakfast but I'll definitely come back for one of my random cravings.

I love bakers donuts!! They have an amazing variety, today we tried the ube donut and it's amazing! Just like everything else! I was bummed they ran out of ube ice cream for their ice cream sandwiches but it gave me the chance to try the hippo blue oreo mint and it is now my second favorite! I'm never disappointed here!

I've lived in South Sacramento for most of my life and at the time, Bakers Donuts was just one of those places that you would drive by and pay little attention to. But thanks to word of mouth, social media and let's not forget handy dandy Yelp... they were able to get their name and product out there and now are a local gem, or well, they've always been. I am happy to say that Bakers Donuts is one of those rare instances of a product living up to its hype. It's also nice to see the underdog come out on top being that big bad Krispy Kreme is next door and there were more people inside Bakers than KK. My gf and I had the pleasure of visiting Bakers Donuts at what we thought was an early hour (around 11ish). To our surprise, they were all out of Cronuts by then... we're obviously Bakers Donuts noobs hahaha. At that moment we were a bit disappointed but were assured by the owners that if we call ahead of time they can make whatever flavors we desired for us to pick up. We decided to go old school and get a dozen assorted all of which were made fresh and were delicious. After talking to one of the owners for a bit, we were given some free donuts to take home as well, the Ube donut in particular has to be hands down my favorite. My only regret about Bakers Donuts is not coming in sooner. We will definitely have to come back to try the donut ice cream sandwiches and my gf really wants to try the cronuts... So folks, please learn from my mistakes, call in ahead of time to ensure you get the flavors you desire.

Now I've been a Marie's Donut fan for a number of years, so this was a difficult choice to step into Bakers. I've been seeing them around a lot lately, and read about them in The Bee so naturally I was curious to give them a try. I came here with my two kids a couple weeks ago and got 4 donuts and a dozen donut holes. I was really blown away by the different varieties they had to offer. I also liked the specialty donut pictures when ordering. The staff were very friendly. We would have sat down and ate there, however all the tables were filled. It's a very small shop with a drive thru window which was nice to see. We came home and started cutting into them so we could all get a taste of each one. The 'Cronut" was really good. Nice flaky layers, but a tad bit too sweet for me. The Reese's PB donut was also too sweet. The donut holes did not compare to Maries donuts. These were a bit too soft for our liking. The maple bacon donut was just ok. All in all, a good stop for us. I will definitely return for a ice glazer when the weather gets a bit hotter.

  • Allyssa P.

the drive thru experience was awful. I waited 20+ minutes before actually getting to the window & then it took another 10+ minutes to get me one cronut & one donut. I had the strawberries & creme cronut which was mediocre. it was a little soggy after a few minutes and the taste wasn't anything rememberable. I wouldn't recommend this place if you've only got a few minutes to spare.

This is a small hole in the wall donut place...its actually right across from Krispy Kreme donuts...unfortunately I arrive at the end of the day; therefore I only had a choice of the coconut or almond cronut...almond it was..honestly im not sure what a cronut is suppose to taste like because I haven't tried the original cronut at Dominique Ansel Bakery in NY yet, sooooo for now I have to say I enjoyed every bite...now the ice cream scoop between a donut was interesting...nothing spectacular...definitely not worth $4.00..

If no star(s) was an option. Came here a few years back with my husband for the first time. We went at the time when they weren't busy but a lady was before us in line, after she left we ordered and sat inside the place and ate our doughnuts. The lady working there were organizing the donuts on display and dropped 1 donut on the floor and picked it up and put it right back to display for sell right in front of us. Disgusting! After that we lost our appetite and never went back!

Little donut shop with all the typical donut shop essentials. The thing that makes this shop different is that they carry cronuts as well. The red velvet cronut was awesome! Very friendly staff and would recommend checking them out if you are in the area.

    (5)
  • Stephanie H.

I love the cronuts they have here! I've gotten so addicted to them. Also the store owners are really nice and friendly! It' sucks that their regular donuts are overlooked because of the cronut craze. I like all the donut this place has to offer best in sac!

  • Brian T.

Never had I imagined myself waking up at 7AM on a Sunday for donuts and cronuts... At first I regretted the decision of promising my friend that we'll go early for the cronuts, but after seeing how amazing these cronuts look, and how tasty there are... I can only imagine myself coming back for more! We got a dozen of assort cronuts; my favorite being the Maple Bacon one. I'm a fan of sweets, but when it gets too overwhelmingly sweet I can't take it anymore. However, Bakers was just right for me! I would also highly recommend coming for their ice cream glazed donuts... donuts + Asian flavored ice cream... who could resist that temptation?! I had the glazed donut with Ube, and it was simply amazing. It gets pretty packed in the morning, and it's just this tiny little shop... but who knew it'll have such delicious pastries. Definitely a hidden gem! On the plus side, staff here are super nice and accommodating!

To be honest donuts really shouldn't be a part of my diet, however on the days when I allow myself a cheat meal, this place is usually my go to spot. It's been in the same place forever. I remember seeing this place for years and years but I never went in because it doesn't look like much on the outside. Just some dinghy shack on Florin road but then I searched for kronuts in Sacramento and this place popped up. Now I have never had kronuts anywhere else. Why bother? I fell in love with them at bakers donuts and have no desire to try them anywhere else. I'm hooked. Prior to my going meatless I had the maple bacon and the red velvet. Both are amazing. I highly recommend them. And then I started following them on IG and saw pics of an ice cream filled donut!! What?!?! So after viewing these things on my feed I finally made in to try it. Now I am half Filipino so I am well aware of what ube is and unlike most of my fellow pinoys I'm not a fan of the purple stuff. Never have been so I didn't get the ube flavor however I did get the pandan. Ice cream and donuts are an epic combo. The pandan flavor is more of a fad thing I think. I barely could taste the pandan it is very mild but I loved the idea. I think any vanilla or chocolate flavor would be over powering. Would I buy the pandan ice cream and donut combo again? Probably not. But I will always be a fan of this place and I applaud their inventiveness. Don't take my word on it though. Try it. It's worth it!!!

Went here for a cronut, left with 4. They are not nearly as rich as one would think they're actually pretty light and fluffy and awesome. Hopes and dreams came true. The family that runs this shop are top notch ! Very friendly and professional. They don't rush you, it was a very pleasant experience. I will definitely be returning. P.S. I think they're ramping up cronut production to support the demand. I arrived after 10 AM and was able to purchase cronuts. The Krispy Kreme lot was empty.

I had the strawberries and cream cronut and it was amazing! It was made fresh and tasted so delicious. The restaurant only has a few tables available, so hopefully you can find a good seat so you can enjoy the yummy goodness!

  • Just N.

Only 3 stars cuz when I got there they were out of cronuts. :-( I think cronuts should be served all day!!! However, the donuts I did get were absolutely delicious...especially the plain sugar donuts. When I moved out east, everytime I asked for plain donuts, I'd get one with glaze on them...can't tell you how pissed off I got everytime I got a glazed donut...of course, this was about 13 years ago. I think the east coast now has plain donuts (plain as in sugar, not glazed). Anyway, love, love...and yes, Krispy Kreme was next door, but I live near where Krispy Kreme was created, so we opted for this place...trying to do as the locals do...

Baker's Donuts has been in the Sacramento area for years. Aside from the oldies but goodies, if you haven't tried the cronuts, they are amazing!!! Although this place is very friendly, they could use a bit of a makeover, updated phone system (customer service) and official website with the image/pictures labeling each donut. Customers are top priority. While visiting the store in person is great. For the user experience with web and phone needs improvement to ensure great customer/user experience.

  • Marshall M.

This is an amazing donut spot in Sacramento! The trick to going to this place though is to get the donuts when they come out hot out of the fryer! The donuts are light, fluffy and warm. They have a great selection and they usually have special donuts with fruity pebbles, bacon and other crazy combinations. The only knock on this place is the location because it's in a seedy part of town.

  • Heather B.

Stop whatever you are currently doing and go buy some Baker's Kronuts. Seriously. They are that good! This shop is tiny, but full of amazing flavors. There are tons of kronut and donut options. I tried a glazed and a cinnamon-sugar kronut. Both were very yummy, but I preferred the glazed just because it added a little more moisture to every bite. My husband tried the red velvet and the chocolate chip cake batter. He said they were great! We also bought a glazed buttermilk bar- it is the standard by which I judge all donut shops. We were given a glazed old fashion for free. After eating our two Kronuts each, we were pretty darn full. Well, we went out of town for the night, came back the next day, and realized we still had our donuts at home. But who likes old donuts? Uh...me, when they taste like that! Even just sitting around in the bag for a day and a half, that glazed buttermilk bar was the best I've ever had! Gotta try a fresh one next time! Forget the chain next door- this place is donut heaven.

Oh my Word!!!! I lived in sac for 10 yrs... Am a connoisseur of donuts, drive a few hrs for a "amazing" donut, and do not eat just any ole donut!! Why did I not know about this place!!! Had a cronut this am!! WOW!! 10+ layers of croissant/dough buttery goodness!! Words cannot describe my tastebuds while eating this today, other than, thank goodness I bought one and drove 20 min away before even tasting it!! I wanted and definitely would've eaten 3 before even feeling the effects of it!! The owners daughter was super nice and chatted with me as if I was the most important customer. Move over Krispy creme!! You should've tasted Bakers before moving in next door!!! Also the convenience of a drive thru and definitely worth any amount of time wait!!! Muah!!! Cookie Monster would definitely be converted to donut monster!:)

I came here when it was raining.. and my first thought was my cars to low I'm gonna scrape turning in hahaha. But anyways Krispy Kreme is literally right across the st.. but I seen so much of bakers on IG it looked so bomb. It was pretty slow and cold I didn't know what to order. But the lady who worked was super nice, she gave me extra ice cream and I didn't realize what she said until my bf told me and I felt so bad!! So If you're reading this sorry I was just too excited to eat my ice cream sandwich hehe will be back

All I have to say is, it's a good thing I don't live closer to this place, or I'd be going ALL the time. Donuts are a weakness that I REALLY aim not to indulge in too often, but when I saw the beauties this place creates on Instagram, I couldn't hold back. On my way to visit my sister & niece in sac, I made a pit-stop here, and wound up buying 4 of their specialty varieties: Oreo mint, fruity pebbles, maple-bacon, & hot-pink w/sprinkles. My ONLY regret was not eating them fresh that day; I waited 'til the next to share them with my man. They were still good, but donuts should always be consumed ASAP. Next time he's coming with, or I'm scarfing them all to myself ;) Don't let the size of this place or location fool you. Check it out!

A friend told me about this place and after looking at pics here on Yelp, I just HAD to try it! I ordered 4 kronuts (or is it cronuts?) I got red velvet, maple bacon, maple espresso, and chocolate chip and cookie butter. In a addition to that, I got an ube ice cream glazed donut topped w/ fruity pebbles.... Where do I even begin?! The ube ice cream glazed donut sandwich thingy came out first. Ube? Good. Glazed Donut? Good. Fruity Pebbles? Good. All together?! GREATNESS! Moments later, my kronuts came out in a clear to-go box, making the deliciousness of it all very much visible... Salivation. I had to rush home so I can try it and share with my family. Once we popped it open, I was filled with great joy from the sweet and perfectly flaky awesomeness that are these kronuts! All of them were mouth watering good, but I would say the maple bacon is my favorite. Perfect combination of sweet and savory. Bacon never disappoints! On top of all that, the customer service was great! Very nice and friendly staff who are interested to know how I heard of them and how I enjoyed my ube ice cream donut thing! Their customer service makes this place all the better!

I had the ice glacier and my friend had just some regular donuts and let me tell you, it was amazing!!! Every time we come we have never been disappointed. Not only is there food great, their customer service is even better. We had mary and she was the biggest sweetheart ever!! If their donuts were not good we would come back just for her. Nice job bakers donuts!! Love, satisfied customer.

My coworker and I work graveyard shifts, so we love coming after work, at 730am, we get fresh warm cronuts and hot cocoa. Staff here are friendly and cheery. I love getting free stuff here occasionally for purchasing a lot. Get their resses donut! mmm

Omg so in love with these Cronuts. So amazeballs delish. They are super flaky and light. I can eat then every day. I guess it's a good thing I live on the other side of town. I placed an order for pickup but when I got there i wanted to try another flavor. I really wanted to try one of their espresso maple Cronuts but they were all out. I told them I'll just wait till next time because I lived on the other side of town and couldn't wait for the next batch coming out. She was so sweet and offered to scrape off the sugar of one Cronut and add maple and espresso to it. That was so sweet and how's that for customer service. Yes, the maple espresso was so good. I don't even like coffee. Their donut holes and apple fritters are yummy too. They even gave me a few extra donuts for free. They are worth the drive and then some.

My family has tried other places but they do not compare. We tried the ice glazers and got some cronuts to go. Yummy! Go early or order a head of time on the cronuts- they sell out- but so worth the wait.

I absolutely LOVE this place and I love it even more since they bake cronuts! I love how they can also customize how you want it. The maple bacon cronut is so good! I mean, all of them are good but that has to be my favorite of all time. The staff their are extremely friendly so that's a plus, too! Thank you Bakers Donuts for providing Sacramento some of the best donuts/cronuts! I will definitely be back for more!

First time here and it was OK. DOES NOT COMPARE TO MARIES, LIKE AT ALL. Got an apple fritter and an assortment of cake donuts. Everything was tasty except the apple fritter was REDICULOUSLY greasy. Seems like the oil wasn't hot enough when they fried it. Just go the distance for maries donuts.

Delicious! Had their cronuts n I was not disappointed! We got 5 cronuts for 14.50. Will go bac to try their ice cream donuts.

First off the Cronuts at this place are quite possibly a little piece of heaven. If I had a choice between being skinny or a dozen cronuts for life. Just call me Big Booty Judy. Hell I'll even get the titanic tatted on my stomach so we can watch it sink in my rolls together. This place is awesome, clean, moderate to fair priced. I'm not sure how the service is as Im usually so busy pointing and grunting at what I want or stuffing my face once I get it. Run do not walk to this place now!

Always wanted to stop by and grab some donuts and try some cronuts. Was recently in town and in the area, so we stopped in this lil family operating donut shop. They were out oh no! Travel many miles too but you can place orders and pick them up, thank goodness for sure. Ordered an assorted dozen of CRONUTS! So deerrrrricious! Maple espresso, maple bacon, red velvet chocolate chip and more... my sis and I almost devoured the whole box of then to ourselves. I love supporting local businesses and service was great and she remembered me when we went to pick up. Keep it up guys, doing great don't let that place across get to you. Next time I'm in town will have to try the ice cream...

After finding this place on yelp, I finally visited this place. We were warmly welcomed and the lady figured it was our first time there. She gave us a discount and threw in an extra Kronut for us! The customer service was great and the kronuts were yummy!! Will definitely come back!!

  • Christina C.

They look AMaZINg! Most awesome and delectable looking donuts I have ever seen in person... But they taste pretty poor if you have a rich pallet. They are overly greasy it's like biting into fat, the frosting is mildly flavored. They have cronuts which is awesome and they are extremely unique too but again... Just soakedddd in grease. They are a great place to go to have a fun experience with donuts and they can make anything u you want per request, but I'm all about flavor not just how it looks.

The cronuts here are heaven! I brought home a dozen donuts and the maple bacon is definitely my favorite. I've had maple bacon donuts else where before and wasn't that big of a fan because I thought it was too sweet plus I was never a huge fan of donuts, but the maple bacon cronut here is just perfect! Not too sweet and the cronut texture is flaky, crunchy, soft, and just perfect! It's hard to describe something so delicious haha. Not only are their cronuts amazing, but the customer service there is great too! Everyone there is friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back for more.

Not a big fan of sweets but I came here to try cronuts for the first time just to see what the hype was all about. I had the strawberry cronut and OMG it was so heavenly! It was just the right amount of sweet. I hate when things are too sweet. The texture, the flavors, everything was just perfect. I highly recommend bakers and their cronuts are a MUST try! :)

I came here about noon after coming seeing my friend post a picture on Instagram on their cronuts. And thank good I tired them. Got them when they were fresh hot too! The red velvet was really sweet but hey, it was still good. I'll probably take my cousins here too when they drop into town.

A bit pricey but worth the try! It's really good and the portions are huge. It's better than the regular donut, for sure!

Been a customer for 25 years... Love, love, love their donuts! So far I haven't purchased any of their speciality donuts, I'm kind of a traditional girl, but if they are anything like the regular old school donuts, they must be amazing! I love that they have a drive-thru, makes it so easy to pick up a dozen for the kids on a Saturday morning. Milk is always ice cold, big plus, and service is friendly. When Krispy Kreme opened next door I was a little worried, but I should have know they could hold their own against the big boys. Quality and great service wins again! Only one small negative is the drive thru is a little shabby...old gum and stained concrete. It seems to have been missed when they painted everything else.

Had some cronuts from here from my coworker and they were good. Tried them again today and was disappointed. The cronuts were NOT fresh and very oily. The oil tasted really old. I was not fond...and I don't see myself going back to try them again. I rather go to Marie's Donuts for some fresh traditional donuts.

I've been here twice this far. The staff is super friendly and the donuts are delicious. Every time I come in I'm greeted with smiles and great service. I usually go in to place my order since they sell out of their popular cronuts very quickly on the weekends (which is usually when I'm in town). They're very accommodating and this last time I came in, they were able to double my order at the last minute upon my request. Amazing little gem in Sacramento!
