This place is ok. Expect a long wait time. I ordered the asada nachos, i think way over priced.. $7.95 asada nachos: meat, guacamole and cheese. $8.90 to add beans and sour cream "Super Nachos". wait it doesn't end here.. ***The ultimate nachos are $11.35. Too expensive to order. Good luck! Btw, drinks sold separately. Customer service: between 1-3, I give them a 1.5 . The only great thing about this place is that you can call and order out on their busiest day and your food will be ready on time.

Chile Relleno burrito YUUUUMMMM! Will come back for this one Ultimate Nachos were also delicious. Big portion, enough to share! or you can get a half order.

Damn! If you ever stop by this place and order nachos, be prepared they charge you for everything, for the chips, guacamole, jalapeños, beans, sour cream salt on the chips, the shipping charges for the meat that was brought to this place and for the styrofoam plate. I give this place four thumbs down! The milks gone bad!! Oh yeah! They might charge you for the fly that lands on your food too!

She use your fingers to put my food in the taco ....I complained about my tostada and the lady jakie question me why and I just asked her for exchange for a taco so she went behind the counter grab my tostada And shove. The toppings into the taco shell with her fingers I witnessed her doing it with my eyes her name is Maria also goes by Jackie she's store manager And served it to me saying that it's the same thing

Long time patron of this local favorite and will agree with everyone else that these are the best nachos in town, if not all of LA. The purists stick with the never-fail Chile Verde for a good reason. They are a classic. When not in a pork mood, opt for the Carne Asada or make them veggie by loading up on everything meatless. Either way, you'll end up happy. Glad to report they offer half orders now since the original full size options are HUMONGOUS. Yeah, it can get really crowded at peak hours and you might get some attitude from the staff. That kind of stinks, but it's really hard to stay away from the food. I know for a while they stopped taking phone orders, but I think they went back to allowing them. Don't be afraid to try the other items as well. The hard shell tacos, taquitos, and quesadillas are also tasty!

Ahh yes good old Casa Garcia I've been coming here since I was a kid. I must say I think the quality of the food dropped just a little bit when they moved from up the street! That's why they get four stars. That said if it's your first time you must order the chile verde nachos with, and this is key extra juice!! Trust me eat them there otherwise if you take them home you will have mush So listen to good old uncle E eat them there and you will have a successful day every time my friends!!

Messed up my order. Told the girl at the cash register to correct it. Still came back wrong. Called to get her name and she hangs up on me. I do not know why this girl still has a job there! So rude!

This place is good. Came in for nachos and they where on point. Their menu is also unique so if you want to try something new, roll up. Stoner certified, they have a burrito the size of a small baby. For sure to suppress the munchies. The place is very clean. Fast service too.

  • David C.

Not the same mom and pop place we all use to know and love, service is terrible and the place is dirty. If the nanchos were not the bomb, wouldn't go. The staff is very unprofessional and constanatley screwing orders up....its comical If you can deal with it, and have a lot of time to waste, the nachos and still good. Customer of 25 years, not convinced with the new location, bigger not always better....

First time but definitely not the last. Get in order your food, by the time your done getting your drink, your food is ready! Nachos are definitely a must!

Anytime you want some good nachos you should come to this place. There is always people in this place. We ordered the super nachos that come with what ever meat you want, cheese, beans, sour cream and guacamole. Chips are crunchy and tasty. Pour the red chilly over the nachos and delicious. Each bite has a little bit of everything. I also ordered a carnitas hard taco that comes with meat, cheese and guacamole. It was also very good. I really enjoy the nachos and the tacos here. Next time I might order something different but we will see because the nachos never disappoint.

  • LYDIA B.

Everything here is good, popular for their unique nachos and best guacamole and chps are thick... that hasn't changed since the 80's! Their Louie Louie is a huge burrito (enough for family) with chili rellenos is worth a try! Their red hot sauce compliments their meals taste. If you're looking for 5 star fine dining don't go here. The food speaks for itself, taking to go is how it first started and how I keep it. ;-)

Came here for the first time the other day. We decided to share although we were starving I heard the portions are huge. Well they are huge and they are amazing! We ordered the chicken nachos and Omgosh out of this world! The chicken was shredded and I could tell it was quality chicken and fresh too! All the toppings were fresh and wonderful! All around love his place and can't wait to be back for more!!!

  • Fernando S.

These ultimate nachos are ridiculous! I got the full rack, and they over delivered. Couldn't finish even that I was starving on a hot day!

After a long day at work I headed to Pico Rivera caught in traffic that was congested in the streets to met my wife and to do some shopping after the shopping I told my wife, I was getting very hungry with a big appetite that's need be tame. My wife say let have the Ultimate nachos from Casa Garica next to the Krikorian movie theater. My wife was telling me it super size nachos all kind of meats like carne asada, chicken and pork but it's hard to describe this massive of a meal it can feed up to three person. Always carry a bib it can be Messi but this Ultimate nachos is so good lots of flavors but it was really hard describe so much ingredients fit in a average container. Plus we order two chili renello on the side they were so good they ad it chili verde with pork that's was one of my favorite so much flavors in one bite that's why I like chili renello. Overall the food at Casa Garica is always good that's bring the people in and get the restaurant packed that's probably why Casa Garica is so popular in my standard.

I was invited to come enjoy the "Best nachos in LA". I couldn't turn that down. Indeed they were the best nachos I've ever had. Real corn chips, not store bought. Topped with juicy carne asada, rice, guacamole, and real Mexican cheese. Mmmmmmmm mm. Service was polite and accommodating. Free refills on drinks. I highly recommend Casa Garcia!

Casa Garcia has been disappointing me lately :( Here's why: 1. I really hate how the employees clean the tables while people are eating. This might sound weird as most places do this, which is totally fine; however, when they clean the tables, they use some spray first that smells very strong and all I can taste while Im eating is that spray. A rag with soap & water would do just fine. The spray is way too strong. 2. Some, not all, of the younger employees have given me a bad vibe. On one occasion, the young girl was completely stuck when I gave her a $20 bill and $0.37 cents to pay for my $5.37 meal. I wanted $15 back. After staring at the money for 3 minutes straight, she handed my change back and just used the $20 so now I got back $14 & change. 3. I visited this location last night at about 8:50PM. The closing time was 9:30PM, which is why I was very surprised to see the "OPEN" sign turned off and it looked very dim. I thought it was closed. So I walked in and it was open. A young employee with purple hair had half the seating area closed so that she could clean. So I asked her, "Are you still open?" & she said "Yes, but it's only take out now..." I thought this was weird since they were going to be open for another 40 min! I ordered my food with an older women & she asked me "Is that for here or to go?" And I said "Well that girl (pointing to the purple-haired girl) said I had to take it to-go..." And she said "No, we close at 9:30, you can eat here." I was already annoyed and the whole place smelled like that cleaning spray so I took it to go. As I was leaving a mother & son walked in & they also asked if they were open & the purple-haired girl told them "Yes but take-out only." Ultimately, I was annoyed because that girl made it seem as though she could care less about the customers and all she wanted to do was clean up & close early. I felt very uncomfortable & unwanted as a customer by her. Some advice, if you don't close for another hour, just leave the "OPEN" sign on at least.

My BF and I just left this place because we heard many good things about the asada nachos. So went ahead and ordered them. We were both starving so we started digging in. Gotta say they were pretty gross. First they must have put a tacos worth of meat. They were so overwhelming with the refried beans. It's all I could taste along with the grease. The quality overall was very poor. It's like lonchera quality which is not good. I was hungry but not desperate enough to keep going. We both walked out thinking or friends were crazy and don't know what in the world they were talking about. Worst nachos ever. Bad after taste too. So we ordered asada super nachos and we got nachos with beans. very disappointed. Not sure all these people giving all these great reviews know what good food is. Place sucks. I'm sorry...

  • Tova V.

As much as I am enjoying sitting here, it's unclear as to why it's taken over 20min to get nachos! These better be the best nachos I've ever had. I could've driven all then way to Tom's and been on my home already. Ok so it took long because they lost my order. So I tried the nachos nope not the best nachos around. I guess I was too excited to try them. I'll stick to Tom's tailgate in lahabra

I'm 31 years old, and my family has been coming here since before that. Today, you lost a 30+ year loyal customer. Ever since Casa Garcia moved to the new location, they have progressively gotten worse. It's mainly horrible when the young/newer staff is left there. Are they capable of running this place? Yes. Do they want to? No. They could care less about anything going on around them. Its the typical new generation of lazy kids that had everything handed to them, and have zero pride in what they're doing. Their sloppy appearance says it all. Today, I place a phone order at 6:31 get there at 6:45, and don't leave until 7:18. If I'm going to wait over 45 minutes, whats the point of placing a phone order? I ordered some nachos and a bean & cheese burrito with a drink. When they finally called my order, the girl knew I was pissed and made no attempt to at the very least say sorry for the wait. Instead she was cold, rude, and just kept cutting me off. I tried to ask for a few more salsas, and before I could get "sal" out of my mouth she cut me off and said "there's 3 in the bag". Same exact thing happened when I tried to ask for another fork. I just got home to bite into a solid chunk of cheese in my burrito because its cold along with the overcooked tortilla thats just crumbling apart making a mess (not the first time since this new cook has been in the back). Luckily the nachos were okay this time. While waiting I noticed that almost everyone took an item back because their order either wasn't right, or it was cold. If you're the owner of this place, PLEASE take a look at you security cameras, and you will see I am not lying. It's sad to see a place that has been a cornerstone of Pico Rivera go down like this.

I detest it when reviewers write 5-star reviews; however, Casa Garcia deserves nothing less than 5-stars. The chile verde nachos are absurdly delicious, and every time I order them, they are invariably so. It's the proportion of ingredients that is important, but the final result is a matter of how they put them together. It is the equilibrium which is key. I never - ever - write Yelp reviews; I only use them, but I felt compelled to write Casa Garcia the review they most definitely deserve. This is a great establishment with wonderful food. Also, the owner is fine af.

So I went to casa Garcia during lunch which is only 30 min, I called ahead of time so it can be ready when i get there. When I arrived there the girl working the front did not greet or even say anything to me and there was no one else inside, she just ignored me. after 5 min of waiting I finally said hello I'm here for pick up and she took forever getting me my stuff. All I ordered was one box of nachos and it was cooked on time she just didn't have it prepared for me and was purposely being slow making me almost late to class. I am displeased how she was being careless and unfriendly. The nachos on the other hand were great just bad service.

  • Emma K.

We've been enjoying the delicious nachos for years! All of their ingredients are super fresh. I'm so happy they now have a sit down area to enjoy their food. The service is always fast and friendly. If in the Pico Rivera area, this is a MUST!

This place deserves nothing less than Five Starts. If I could I'd give them Seven *******. My whole review may be a bit skewed because of my love for their nachos. I have only had one other item there and that's a hard shell taco. I can't recall how it was because I don't come here often due to the fact it's far from home and when I make it I only have nachos. Normally I like nachos with cheese sauce, not shredded cheese but this is an exception. The chips are make there rather than pre-made in a factory some where. The chips taste excellent. The cheese is shredded white cheese, which I think is Monterey Jack cheese. You can have your choice of meats. I prefer the shredded beef but I have gotten the carne asada which is an excellent choice too. I want to try the carnitas next time. It comes topped with guacamole also but me, being one of 5 people in the world who doesn't dig guacamole asks them to substitute sour cream for it instead. I ask for hot sauce too which comes in a squeeze bottle. I've always loved the combination of hot sauce with sour cream. It doesn't get much better than that. I love their hot sauce. Not sure if they make it or it's pre-made for them. It's not super spicy but it is spicy nonetheless. But the flavor of it is really good regardless of how spicy is is or not. They now have half-orders. I never saw the half-order option before but then again I get there only once every six months or so. I last week because I was in the area and honestly should have gotten the half order because the whole was too much although I finished it, it was so good. Then believe it or not I was in the area this past Monday so I ordered the half order and in this case I should have gotten the full-order because this time the half was not quite enough. So gauge your hunger and order accordingly. How do I know about this place? I worked at 99 Cent Only Stores corporate in City of Commerce in the IT department at one time for about a year. One guy who worked in the same dept also lived in Pico Riviera not far from Casa Garcia and he would work the night shift and bring some nachos from there to eat at night and he told me about the place. Since them I have been going there when I'm in the area. It's far and as much as I like it I don't go out there just for it BUT once in awhile I will have that hankering for these nachos and I'll drive out there just for it, but it's better for me if I'm out that way and just stop by. Oh the nachos the guy I worked with always got carnitas. I like carnitas but I never had their carnitas, so next time I shall try the carnitas nachos. Do yourself a favor and go there. I'm sure there might be other places that have nachos like that but I don't know of any, so you need to go to this place and get them. Service wise it's fine. The staff are not overly friendly nor overlly dull and unfriendly. Nothing to deduct a star from them over. Prices about average for Mexican food of similar caliber. But like I say, the nachos are special so these are above caliber. I don't think there are many places out there with nachos like this but as noted there might be a few out there since there are so many Mexican restaurants out there but I don't know of any, so I'm sticking with this place. House of Garcia wins me out!!!

I went in to try their nachos I've heard lots of things about them,,, nachos look pretty good but tasted not that good,, I just did not like the cheese that they use it was not melted and the way the chicken is cooked did not go with the nachos they were okay but I would not go back to try them again

    (3)
  • Jamie P.

They really do have the best nachos in town. Everything else is also game, so don't be shy to try something else. This place can get filled on any day of the week, but the staff is normally pretty good at fast service.

  • Jorge F.

The food is delicious and the workers are friendly. The only thing I would suggest is if your going to dine there for lunch break call ahead for a phone order. Their quick with phone orders.

  • Andres A.

If you are in the mood for some comfort food you need to check this place out. My favorite thing on the menu are the nachos. Best nachos I've ever had. Just thinking about them is making my mouth water Lol. I also really like the chile relleno burrito another classic but goodie. anyways I recommend everyone in the area to come buy and try these delicious nachos. Tip: Ask for extra napkins Lol

    (4)
  • Brenda M.

So disappointed. Unmelted cheese, bland meat, no jalapeños, to sum it up Flavorless!!! These were nachos but seemed to have been given to me half way through the process of being prepared. When I asked them to run them through the oven to melt the cheese they gave me a confused face. Then they put them through the microwave in a styrofoam plate, cheese nachos n styrofoam, thanks for the cancer.

The super nachos is super big and delicious! I went here for the first time recently and I'll have to say, I was impressed. The nacho had all the toppings I like and it was large enough to share with someone. My bf ordered it and I said I was going to have a little of it. Well, that "little" turned into about half of it because I couldn't stop eating it. Most the nachos I've had lacked ingredients or are either too greasy. This one is neither. I came back here another time and we ordered the Louie, Louie, which is a ginormous burrito. No kidding, it was HUGE! The bf and I shared it and we were only able to eat half of it. We split the other half for lunch. The Louie, Louie is nowhere near as good as the Super Nacho, unfortunately. They have the same kind of pork, but somehow, the pork in the burrito smelled more. In fact, the smell was a bit strong so I masked it by adding salsa. Other than the pork, everything else was good. There was chile relleno in the burrito, which is different for me. I probably wouldn't recommend this though. However, if you do plan on ordering it, then you'll have enough food for at least two meals.

  • Danielle J.

The food is good but service sucks I wanted to site n eat there but they couldn't provide me with a cup for water they said sorry we ran out yet they had coffee cups soda cups n could spare one for someone who orders two nachos n was so thirsty but don't like soda . It don't make any sense. What is that cup cost them like 40 cents.

I've been going here for about 10 years now. I usually always get the same thing. I started going there for their child verde nachos and I still continue to go here for the nachos. Will continue going nachos are def the best thing here in my opinion!

  • Hugo N.

I came in here to eat before going to a movie. I'm glad I found this place. The cashier is friendly, place is clean and the food is really good. I got the carne asada torta and the taco and my son got the carne asada fries. The salsa they give you is very tasty. I'm coming back

    (4)
  • Nicole T.

Everything here is delicious. The food is fresh and you can definitely taste it. But my favorite thing on the menu is the chile verde nachos. If you get them you'll understand why they're so popular. If you haven't eaten here you're missing out!

    (5)
  • Joel B.

Best chile verde nachos in town. This place has kept their original recipes that made this place popular then and now. Anything off the menu is awesome but if you are looking to feed a few big appetites, get one Louie Louie burrito. It's amazing and feeds 2-5 people depending how hungry you are. The place us always busy so expect to wait 10-15 mins for your food(sometimes even more wait). I highly recommend it for a bite before the movie since they are next door to each other.

    (4)
  • Rick S.

Casa Garcia advertises "the best nachos in town." Personally, I beg to differ, but many people order them--particularly the super nachos. The portions are huge and there are lots of ingredients but, to me, the nachos were bland and uninspired. HOWEVER, the chlis rellenos dinner and the chimichanga are amazing! I should try other items on the menu, but I keep going back to these two items. The people behind the counter are neither friendly nor unfriendly--just doing their jobs. The restaurant is pretty clean but not immaculate. The prices are reasonable.

  • Alexander Z.

First time going. Had the Carne Asada super nachos. Very very good ! Fresh as can be. Restaurant is small but well maintained and perfectly set up to sit the many clients who dine there. Friendly service and plenty of parking. The only thing that bugged me somewhat was that there vintage phone kept ringing @ max volume without being picked up till after many rings. Planning on going back with a bigger appetite.

    (4)
  • Rachel D.

Casa Garcia has the best (by far!) nachos I've ever had! The flavor of the meat and cheese was absolutely amazing, and the sour cream and guac was a perfect top-off. The restaurant itself is very clean and well looked after. The staff was great, and very kind. Two thumbs up!

    (5)
  • A J.

Went to get Nachos, they were horrible. The classic Nachos don't come with beans or sour cream as a standard but come with guacamole...so retarded. My friend got chicken nachos that were disgusting. They were wet and completely made the nachos soggy. The wait was about 25 minutes....never again will I come here. Can't believe my $10 nachos don't have beans and sour cream seriously WTF.

    (1)
  • Mayra H.

Another place I found again thanks to yelp.. All I have to say is... the Louie Louie is a must, a long with the nachos! My family has been coming to Casa Garcia for years, ever since they were across the street (target shopping center, back when it was Montgomery Wards) This place never dissapoints..

  • Abc L.

food was very bad... i remember coming to this place when i was a teen and the food was finger licking good.. now its just another wanna be mexican place.... not coming here again.

  • Sylvia Q.

I ordered the asada plate and I asked for medium rare but it was cooked throughly. Didn't like the fact that they put diced chicken on my meat. I didn't order chicken. Most likely that would my only visit there. I was not impressed nor satisfied.

    (2)
  • Robert A.

So the food here is yum. I can't argue that. Love me some nachos & chiles rellenos from here. However, my gripe is the service. Here goes: When you come in and order, you will be waiting a while (too long, if you ask me). I get that this means your food is made fresh but there is a limit! Even phone orders would be delayed and you'd still have to wait a while for your food. Last visit I walked in, with no line thank goodness, and while I was waiting for my food (shocker!) I saw a sign that said 'no more phone orders.' When i asked why, the girl at the register said it was because people would still have to wait for their orders or leave because their order was taking too long. So lemme get this straight. Instead of fixing the issue -- inefficient service and/or food preparation -- you eliminated the one thing that could, in essence, make things BETTER? No lo creo, Casa Garcia...get it together. Por fis! If you're going to raise your prices (don't think we haven't noticed) you need to raise your standards for service, too.

    (3)
  • J9 G.

Phone orders are back!!! Nachos are the best.

Best nachos in town!! That what I always get when I'm there and it never fails to hit the spot!

So my bf and his mother introduced me to this place. I've been coming here for 4yrs now. I first tried it at their old location, which was rather small but I felt it was better then. Ever since they moved to their new location, it just hasn't been the same. We haven't experienced bad customer service ourselves but we have witnessed other customers have very heated arguments with the cashier. Even security had to be called. Now about the food. It is pricey but they do stack it up with the nachos. It can feed about 2-3 people depending on how hungry you are. We tried the nachos with carne asada and it was a big mistake. Advice; STICK WITH THE ORIGINAL Chile verde nachos. They do charge for extras so it can really add up sometimes. I've tried the tortas but they're nothing special. I'd rather go to a food truck. I have also tried the burrito de asada, very good. When it is packed, be prepared to wait a while for your order, they do take a long time!

    (4)
  • Julia C.

3 times and my very simple order of "super nachos" was wrong when I got home. I think if I pay the extra money for extras they should be included. I will never leave without checking my order again... Service was better at the old location. Very sad... $30 for chili verde nachos, carne asada fries and 3 drinks pretty ridiculous. I will think twice next time

    (1)
  • Crystal A.

How are the nachos here consider good to most ppl?? I've tried this place a few times n twice I've gotten the carne Asada nachos. I don't know, but to me the cheese is suppose to be melted on the chips n meat not thrown on cold. The meat on my nachos was super oily n there was fat, yuck! I tried the chili relleno n it was pretty good. But I know way better places for nachos than this spot so I won't be comin back .

    (2)
  • Andrew J.

Customer service sucks here. I called in my order and I was told I had to wait so I did wait. While people behind me placed their order and got the order before I did and then when I asked about my order they had to check the tickets and said he did not have my order. Thank God somebody at the counter remembered me and come to find out my order was behind the counter the whole time.

    (1)
  • Marguerite C.

This place sucks, used to be good, used to love it. The service sucks, the workers are rude & it doesn't even taste like it used to. We've gotten sick eating their food a couple times, won't ever go back. Wanna remember the place like it used to be...

    (1)
  • Kathy S.

I ordered the carne Asada sope and felt the carne lacked flavor, had fat and the beans were watery. I would not come back.

Best place in town for great food and service. Have to try the famous nachos when here.

    (5)
  • Jonathan S.

The taste for the nachos are 5 stars but the price lowered it to 3 stars I payed 14 dollars for some nachos and a medium drink good nachos arnt worth 14 at best 9 and 10 dollar with the drink included

  • Annie H.

Pretty decent hard shell tacos but my favorite is still some place in LA. My bf got their famous nachos and it was ok. I'm not a big fan of nachos. This is just your typical Americanized Mexican food joint. Nothing authentic about it but it gets the job done.

    (3)
  • Doreen R.

This is an over all rating Pros: Great Super Nachos and cheap! Cons: Really Bad service, nothing else here is good :( and can get very crowed at times! I have been coming here for years. I use to love this place but even since they moved to their new location, service has dropped! The cashier are alway rude and can never get your order correct (if you try calling in your order). I tried to explore their menu but that was a big mistake. The old Casa Garcia use to be a little whole in the wall mom and pap shop. The cashier at the time were the owner two daughter, who were very nice! Service WAS a plus but now I try to save this place as my last resort!!!

    (2)
  • Matt Y.

Worst Carne Asada I have ever had... Very bland and very poor quality of meat. Out of all of the Mexican restaurants I have been too, this by far has the worst Carne Asada I have ever had.

  • Summer S.

Wow this place has some good food!!! I had the salsa verde nachos today and they were bomb! Ate there yesterday and had chicken flautas....YUM!!! My new lunch spot!!!

The. Best. Nachos. Evahhhhh Place was always a little hole in the wall, but now they've moved into a new location where you can actually sit down and enjoy the yumminess. Much more fun.

All i can say is: Nacho Nazis!!!! The "soup nazi" episode of Seinfeld came to mind while at Casa Garcia yesterday. Lady customer was complaining about her order and they dismissed her complaints. When she asked for a refund, the manager pointed to the sign on wall stating "no refunds". The manager's logic "I'm not losing money because you don't know how to order." Damn!!!!! The customer could have caused a scene or thrown the nachos in the manager's face, but I don't think she would've gotten an ounce of verbal support from the customers waiting for their food orders, including me. My mouth was salivating for the nachos I enjoyed as a kid. I stood quietly as the exchange continued. Please understand... As a kid, my parents would order two large chile verde nachos and like piranhas we would devour it in minutes, yearning for more. The nachos I had yesterday (which I requested that they substitute with beans since I don't eat meat) were just like I had remembered. They were just as large, with the right amount of guacamole and cheese. The homemade red sauce was plentiful since they placed bottles on tables. As I write this, I'm tempted to go again today. So as I do care for customer service, sometimes the food is good enough that I fall in line and learn to place my order so I avoid any confusion. Hence the four stars. I don't know about anything else on the menu, I go for the traditional nachos (chile verde) and that's it. Those nachos are worth my loyalty to an establishment that provides the worst customer service I have ever witnessed.

this review is for thier famous nachos, which I love but in my opinion are over priced!! if you want your nachos with all the good stuff (guacamole, cheese, meat, beans, sour cream) than you have to order the "super nachos" which are about $10 each, it's a pretty big order. definitely enough to share with one or two people but if your like me (party of 1)it's way too much. I would prefer a slightly smaller size for a cheaper price since it is just me, no point in saving any for later since the chips just get soggy and the guacamole turns green. I end up throwing half the order away since eating half will fill me up, I feel really bad about that so I don't come here as often as I'd like to. Also the wait to order and get your food can be up to 20 mintues sometimes!! so if your on your lunch break, beware!

My boyfriend told me about this place a few years ago and have not been able to stop coming ever since! They used to be in a much smaller place but ever since they moved locations (still in the same plaza) we have enjoyed being able to sit and eat. I love chile relleno burritos, and this place is good. It's not a super big burrito, but the cheapness of this place and the quality of the food is what keeps me coming back. Must tries are definitely the chili verde super nachos and their bean and cheese burritos. The super nachos are more than enough food for two people! It's also definitely a good idea to bring home leftovers for late night munchies (because I'm a lard ass, ofc). Did I mention? They only use monterey jack cheese? Yum!

Went here for the first time last week after being told they had the bomb nachos. Had the chile verde nachos and they were BOMB!! Will be back for more.

The nachos were great..but when it came down to asking for a cup of coffee..they tried selling us coffee that was sitting there ALL DAY..and when asked if they can make a fresh batch the manager said they couldnt throw it out but was willing to sell it to someone else..old bitter coffee really..DONT GET COFFEE HERE..

Three stars for the super nachos, but a big zero for the service. Girl taking our order made us feel like she wanted us not to eat there. You never say "to go right" when your not even done ordering. Hope her customer service gets better. Customers like smiles on people taking their order

Terrible service. Take FOREVER!! and still mess up my order. I was on my lunch break and had no time to finish my food because they took there sweet time. And white girl is very rude!

What can I say about this place other than BAM!! The nachos are outrageous! I haven't really tried much more on their menu, but I can vouch for the nachos with carne asada, WOW! I never experienced anyone getting crazy in here, but I can see how that might have happened cuz you do kinda get that neo-Nazi feeling sometimes. The order takers sometimes don't look at you when you're ordering except maybe when they first ask you what will you have. And that's just a quick glance. So I believe the post by Marisol C, Nacho Nazis!!! Too funny! But then again, I don't expect much in terms of quality service. All things considered, they seem to be very busy - They AIN'T GOT TIME FOR DAT!

Been coming here for a out 6 years. Nachos de carnitas are great, so are the traditional nachoa. Last time I went, I got the carnitas nachos, but I asked they pour some green salsa juice over them (as they are very dry otherwise). They charged, I think, about .50 cents to a dollar more. Not a big deal, but it just didn't sit well with me. Overall, delicious home style quality food. Good!

I finally tried the chile verde on the nachos!! Although, I didn't want to commit to getting the whole order of actual chile verde nachos, so I just got some chile verde on the side. Because that's brilliant. SO!!! Wow. The chile verde was DELICIOUS! Very very full of flavor and the meat was nice and (a little on the rough side) mostly tender. I kept pouring some meat and juice on my shredded beef nachos bc they tasted so much better that way! But keep in mind that your nachos will get soggy if you douse them in that juicy mixture of pork, but if you don't care bc it's all going in the same place anyway, pour on! Definitely going to try the whole order of those nachos next time! OH!!!!! And the horchata is freakin BOMB! Definitely my 2nd favorite ever (with Zavala's in first place.) for horchata! It had a taste of canela to it and I loved it. Almost finished it before even getting my food! Sweet. Literally!

Came here because it was highly recommended by a friend, she told us the nachos were good. Husband and I ordered chicken and asada nachos. Portions are great but the meats and salsas just have no flavor.

The tortas are getting smaller and they always forget to add the avocado. Casa Garcia needs to step it up.

I'm currently seating at Casa Garcia as I am writing this review. Today is my first time at this establishment after hearing several individuals raving about how good it is. The local time is approximately 1900hrs and the establishment is about half-full. The first thing I notice since it's my first time here is their menu, and it's a bit on the pricey side. Ordered the chile verde nachos and was given the stub from the order booklet. I noticed the food doesn't take too long, but I did notice 2 orders were called ahead of mine. Another thing I noticed while I was waiting for my order was that a few tables around the establishment weren't clean. In addition, the floor looked like it hadn't been cleaned; straw debris and napkins on the floor was clear evidence of this. Now to the food. The Chile Verde Nachos, were flavorful but I believe it didn't warrant the Price. Advice to Ownership/Management emphasized to your employees about cleanliness and customer service. I believe staff should have a smile on and have a more courteous attitude.

Very expensive food. Everything has to be an add on and they charge for every add on. Food is is descent. They are definitely not vegetarian friendly. My wife asked for nachos without meat and she wanted to add items to them, it would've been like $16 for nachos!! The customer service is not good either.

    (2)
  • Fam G.

Worst customer service, they were not willing to make a cheeseburger because they didn't want to dirty the grill. After I order a torta and pay, the cook comes out and says no more tortas, while the cashier is laughing. If they want to go home by 10pm they should close at 9:30pm. We will not be back, they just lost a long time client.

Yesterday wifey and I headed down to the land of old veteranos and fine ass hoochies...Pico Rivera! As we were rolling down Paramount we spotted the Casa Garcia sign, pulled into the big ass parking lot, which houses a movie theater, Coldstone Creamery, and some other shit that I didn't bother noticing because I was hungrier than a stripper for dolla, dolla bills ya'll. Walked in, strolled up to the counter and browsed the menu. Wifey ordered the flautas plate and I ordered the nacho fries from a cute nice girl with a big ass tattoo on her forearm (beautiful work to whoever the artist is), went and sat our asses down and waited. 10 minutes later our number was called and it was on. I opened up my container and was shocked to see the amount of fucking food they were able to stuff in it. Fries topped with beans, carne asada, shredded jack cheese, sour cream and guacamole. Wifey's flautas looked good as fuck too, with a side of delicious beans and rice. I dug in and immediately enjoyed the flavors of every single ingredient. I was only able to eat half of portion because it was filling as shit, took the other half home and my kid fucked it up. All in all great food, great prices, good service, clean place. Next time i'm in Pico i'm hitting this place up again.

Really good nachos I had. I usually get some nachos from Alberto's but with these nachos here are not greasy and gives you more chips and portion wise than Alberto's. It's my first time here and I'd come back again :)

It's always so good here!! I've eaten probably more than half of the nenu... not all at the same time mind you.. but the foods super delish the prices are eight and now they have a sit it restaurant which makes it all the better Definitely one of my fave Mexican food joints in pico ! Staff is always nice too.. Try the Mexican fries! Who wlda thought just fries beans and cheese would be so epic? Also the ultimate nachos could probably feed to 4 people.. got it today for the first time This chubby girls says wow!

    (5)
  • Ms. V.

Casa Garcia Nachos are to die for---chunks of pork chile verde poured over thick tortillas chips, topped with freshly grated jack cheese and guacamole. The Louie Louie is insane---a burrito large enough to feed several people, or, a couple of very hungry guys. Inside, you'll find chile verde, chile rellenos, lettuce, tomatoes and, of course, jack cheese. Do they even make anything else here???

    (5)
  • John P.

Grew up eating these nachos, always go for the pork in chile verde...i think its the super nachos that come with guac, cream, beans, cheese. I love the review that said it was like the soup nazi in seinfeld, the cashier is pretty mean looking and if your expecting your cheese to be melted than prepare to be a little dissappointed...otherwise prepare for glory that is the nachos! "Excuse me may i have the cheese melted on my nachos?" "What!?...NO NACHOS FOR YOU!"- Nacho Nazi

  • Kristen D.

The service is awful!!! The chairs and tables are always dirty, the girls working the registers are extremely rude, and they take FOREVER to finish making nachos...wtf? If it was possible I would give the service NEGATIVE 5 stars. I gave it two stars because the food really is good. This is why I only go there once in a great while (3 times in a year). In my opinion the nachos are 5 star quality, but it's not worth going there very often because it is a really unpleasant environment. They need to fire the register people. I've had MUCH better service at McDonald's or Taco Bell (which isn't saying much). I would love to be a regular there...but I can't stand crappy customer service. To be mediocre takes minimal effort, but to be exceptionally horrible takes a whole lot of effort. I'll probably go there again when I'm really hungry and feeling like an a**hole so I'll fit in :)

  • Patricia G.

I've been coming here forever and these nachos really are legendary! The cheese being fresh and not melted is THE BEST! I do not eat pork so I order just cheese and guac...MMMM! They give you more than enough! My parents like to add carne asada on their nachos and that's really good too. The key to this magical dish is the salsa!!! SOOOOO good! Everyone I know eats here and it's delicious.

I heard about this place from my co-worker from Pico! I can't believe I used to pass this place without noticing driving down Whittier from my Grandma's place back to school. It's a popular place amongst fellow Yelpers! They have a official letter and sticker. Like Howard explains it, it's a little place next to Target that is To-Go only, so I had a eat my nachos on the hood of my trunk. I ordered the nachos (which they're known for). Instead of carne asada, they used verde beef. It's pretty good because it's wet. That also makes the nachos a little different than the others you've had. However the cheese (Monterey Jack) isn't melted. I didn't like that too much. They do however really hook it up!! For $6.08 it's mighty filling, and totally worth it! But best nachos I've ever had...not quite. It's still worth a try if you're craving nachos.

friend brought me to this spot raving about the nachos, but i chose a quesadilla thinking it woul dbe good as well . wrong i guess this spots claim to fame is the nachos.its small place, associates are polite. if i cath a movie near by i mught just hit this place up for some nachos but other then that, this is pretty much all i have to say

    (3)
  • Stefanie C.

The food is great. I love it each time I go there. I usually just get the same thing, a burrito with everything. Huge! I get full each time. They are actually moving to a spot where you can sit down and eat. For now, all you can do is just stand in line for take out. This spot is very small.

I've been going to this place for a few years now. Recently I've been going there once a week and my waist line is showing it. lol! All I can say is the food is good. The quality is good and I'm looking forward to thier new location which I was told they are going to have an all you can drink soda fountains and inside seating. =)

You would never imagine that there would be a restaurant that caters to the Nacho Palate but if there ever was, this would definitely be at the top of the Nacho Zagat guide. I have been going here for over 15 years, since I first met the Grandson of the owner of Casa Garcia who has been one on my closest friends ever since. I think I can thank him and his family restaurant for about 20 pounds of good eatin! My favorite way to order nachos here are to order the Shredded Beef Nachos with some Sound Cream and have them drizzle the "juice" from the green chili pork. Trust me, you cannot go wrong with that. Thanks Darrin for those 20 pounds of Nacho Heaven!

    (5)
  • Lorraina B.

Seriously?? The nachos aren't even that great! I couldn't even taste the chile verde sauce at all! I plucked out a chunk from under all the gunk on them and tasted it minus the chip but nope! Not all that great guys! Id rather have super nachos from Albert's! Or Alfredo's...whatever its called since they change their name like alll the time!

    (2)
  • Miguel E.

I've recently been on a nachos kick and I have to say - Casa Garcia beats them all. Their "original" (i.e. chile verde nachos) are amazing. The place is tiny and strictly take-out but it doesn't really change the fact that the nachos taste like greasy calorie-filled rain drops from heaven. I do have to comment on a previous user's review - I agree that the service is terrible. I took the user's comment about the service with a grain of salt but I was wrong. Cashiers is totally rude. I've been there 3 times and the "service" has been consistent. If it wasn't for the nachos I'd probably never go back to Casa Garcia.

  • Mike A.

"Order of Nachos with beans please" my typical order. Although the nachos have changed slightly over the years and have gotten a little pricey these nachos still win my heart over just about everytime i eat them. I also like to get a louie louie (huge burrito with Chile relleno, rice, Chile verde, beans) and split it with someone. The best part of casa garcia is the Chile verde. I seriously recommend you order it with that. Ive had a few friends get chicken and other styles NO comparison they end up not liking them very much until i let them have some of mine. Dont forget this small is a hole in the wall no place to sit to be ready to eat in the car or you better live close by, those nachos get soggy FAST. As a kid eating nachos from here with my Uncle will be a memory I will always have. As a matter of fact i should give him a buzz and see what hes doing for dinner today!

    (4)
  • Jennifer H.

Seriously, and I mean SERIOUSLY, the best nachos ever! I'm the connoisseor of nachos (if there is such a thing!), so TRUST me. I've been going since I was a kid. We would drive from wherever we lived at the time to get them too. Small hole in the wall place. No place to sit, or hardly stand for that matter (due to the lines). Sometimes I just couldn't wait and would eat them in the parking lot. P.S. Everyone I have taken there has become a believer!

  • D V.

OMG! I haven't been here in years. I didn't know what happened to them when they had the big remodel in the strip mall, then we moved to the OC and life goes on.. My hairdresser introduced my family & I to these unbelievable nachos 20+ years ago. We lived in Whittier and my brother and I couldn't wait to eat these bad boys. We'd sit in the car and chow down. YUM!!! My mouth is watering just thinking about them... Homemade chips with chili verde running down them, sour cream and cheese - we always asked for extra guacamole with ours... The staff never seemed very friendly but that didn't stop us from coming. It was kind of like the soup nazi episode from Seinfeld but oh, so worth it! I've got to go back!

    (5)
  • Frank Q.

Yes their Nachos totally rocked my nalga, but their service was weak, the chick at the register looked like she was going to kill someone maybe by drowning them in a pot of hot beans, the dudes making the food were super fast and cool, I went during lunch time ordered the nachos green chile (pork) cheese, guac, and some crema and 2 hard tacos with cheese and guac. the food was kick ass and greasy but delish, if you need healthy shit do not go there but if you want a party in your mouth then go now. oh yeah and their hot red sauce is not hot all all so don't be scared. very small only take out.

    (4)
  • Bobby R.

Nachos nachos nachos. The best I've ever had. This place is small and you will miss it if you aren't careful. Takeout only and it is often crowded with people waiting for their food. The staff is not particularly friendly but the food is incredible and reasonably priced, although not cheap. P.S. Pico Rivera has a 10.75% sales tax which is horrible. It's not the restaurant's fault but keep that in mind when you order.

    (4)
  • Denise S.

You haven't had real nacho's until you've had casa garcia nachos. So delicious. Fresh chips, pork con chile verde, jack cheese, fresh guacamole, and add sour cream...hold the beans though....and voila...you've got a foodgasm in your mouth! so gooooood. I love this place and I love how it seems to never change...from the skinny mexican cook guy to the sort of moody cashier. This place get's PACKED at lunch, however you could call your order in ahead of time. If not be prepared to either stand in an elevator sized waiting area or make sure to order before you might have to pick up something at Target...or else you might have to chill with the sad little owners or the nasty ass chinese restaurant next door. I hope casa garcia never changes....from the cans of soda that they sell to all the kitschy USC stuff on their walls. :)

I'm going on strike senora garcia!!.. I am dissapointed by the quanity they are now serving their nachos. I have been a loyal customer since I was a little girl, now I'm reconsidering. I'm going on strike, lower your prices or go back to loading up your nachos the way you us to. I noticed it a few months ago, but tonight I had it. I wish I would've taken a picture so you all could see for yourself. There were hardly any chips and cheese in my nachos. My nachos did not look like as of the pictures provided by other yelpers.. Through out the years I've noticed their prices starting going up which is normal. But I think its unfair that I am paying more and getting less. I think it's hilarious that posted on the walls there are signs that states Pico has the highest sales tax.

GOOD EATS (Nachos) are awesome. Being a Pico native I grew up consuming Nachos from Casa Garcia. At times the food can be hit or miss but I still make the trek whenever in the neighborhood. If you find yourself cruising Whittier Blvd stop by grab the Nachos from Casa Garcia you will be glad you did.

    (4)
  • Amanda G.

This place is PURE nacho GOODNESS!! I have been going here for years. The nachos are delicious, meaty, cheesy, oh and fantastic. The prices are 6-10 depending on what kind of meat, toppings, ETC. The place it tiny and full to capacity (most of the time). You can sit outside and eat on the curb or...at home, because there are not any tables. I get chips with cheese, carnitas, and beans. My mouth is starting to water just thinking about it. I recommend you call in your order.

You need to get the Pork and Chili Verde Nachos. I tend to stay away from Pork, but these nachos are so goood.

  • Inner Peace Designs Z.

I have been going to Casa Garcia's since 1986 when the original owners owned this great Mexican deli. Overtime, the place has changed owners and the quality of the service has gone down. However, the Original Nachos are still the BEST! I do not order nachos anywhere else because nothing can beat these nachos. My recommendation is to add BEANS to the nacho order. They taste so much better!! Everyone that I have introduced these nachos have gone back and have told their friends, so I am not kidding you - these are great tasting nachos at a GREAT price!

The new location is OPEN! They moved to Paramount and Whittier near the movie theater. After 33 years you can say "The nachos are for HERE!"

Mmmmm!!! Nachos.. This place is freakin awsome when it comes to nachos.. Mmm! the Chili verde (pork) with extra meat...your like it meat heaven floating on clouds ot cheese and guac, the cruch of the chips are like anfels talking to you saying "eat up now, you can work it off tomarrow".. my god these are the best nachos not very heathy but screw it, I was once told "If you treat your self you cheat your self" and baby let me tell you I treat my self..Oh man and they have this ginormus buro called the Luie Luie it has 2 Chili rellenos rice beans cheese lettuce tomatos and your choice of meat, that thing is enough for two or one non human person.. I gave it a 4* and not 5 because if I strecth my arms to each side I could probly touch the count with one and the wall with the other..

  • Tina B.

nachos are yummy but the cheese it doesnt melt with the chips. i always have to microwave it. you can order on the phone to pick it up.. but they can never let me know the price!! they say theyll let you know when you get there.. i find that strange

These nachos leave me speechless each time I take a bite. They are unbelievably delicious. I really hate that they don't have a place where you can sit down and enjoy them. Night times and weekends the lines are usually out the door but it is worth it. Now let's forget that they are the reason why I'm on weightwatchers now. I miss you Casa Garcia!

    (4)
  • Jamie V.

Stupid me, I keep going back to this place. The nachos are good, yes. But the price is totally insane.. I think their over pricing is the reason they had so much money to give out thanksgiving dinners to thousands of people yesterday.. Don't get me wrong, its a good deed. but if they get it as a tax write off, we should too for buying their food! The first time i went alone (my bf normally goes) I wanted the guacamole on the side because I do not like it and well he does.. (.70c) for it on the side! Because the nachos I ordered came with guacamole or else I wouldve understood. Might as well take your own side container. Next time I went and fine was prepared for the high prices which are higher due to pico tax . fine. i get their mexican fries to try them and get home and low and behold ... no cheese! I opened it and saw there was no visible cheese but gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it melted into the beans... but we ate like half of it and no there was no cheese.. ($2.95 for a little container of fries with beans and cheese) So i call them and horrible customer service.. that i could take it back so they could put cheese on it. not a new one, not a credit, acting as if i was lying to them about the cheese. i told them to forget it. i will NEVER GO BACK! Go to in-n-out across the street, they know about customer service and they don't over price and they believe THE CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT! Save yourself the hassle and money.. in these times your money is better spent somewhere else..

    (1)
  • Dennis M.

they seemingly raise prices every time i go back, and the nachos aren't the same anymore. i don't know, maybe feeling ripped off makes me a little more critical. no 5 stars for you!

  • Amie H.

I got to say that these nachos are not that great. No flavor, there is no distinction between these nachos and others. They are also overpriced.Go somewhere else.

I've been going to Casa Garcia for years. I moved out of the city and occasionally will drive out to have some nachos. The last two times (within the last 2 months), the nachos made my stomach hurt. The first time, I was shocked. The 2nd time, I knew there is a problem. I am hoping that they will read this and make some changes. I am almost sure it was the pork. Perhaps, the way it is prepared or they change the ingredients to save some money. Eitherway, the cheap way is never the best way. I only buy Nachos!. I am not a fan of there other food items. The other items such as a burritos are too expansive and have beans only.

Had a Really Bad Experience Friday Night. Ordered the New Nacho Fries. First they gave me half an order when I ordered the full, Second, I ordered Chile Verde, All I got was Beans. I added Jalapenos and Guacamole. Neither were there. So I asked them to Correct the Order. By Then my wife was done with her Nachos, So I asked for the order to go. They didn't cook the Fries. Literally, the Fries we Still Cold in the Middle. Not sure what was going on, usually they do a lot better. Very Disappointing. We called and tried to explain what happened. No One Could Do Anything. Completely Ruined Dinner Friday Night.

Ive been coming here for years. I had a PANIC attack when I came down once. I had no idea they moved. I thought they closed down. Thank GOD they didnt. Want some good eating? Casa Garcia is in my top spot for nachos and some good carnitas soft tacos. One tip try to beat the rush of people because this place can get packed quick but well worth the wait!! Did I mention I've been coming here since I was like 8 years old and I'm 34 for now!

  • Francis M.

The highlight for me was there supper burrito carne asada, beans, rice, sourcream, avocado, pico de Gallo, some lettuce. I enjoyed every bit of it!!!!! As for the nachos....hmmm best in town not likely, its good but I wont go as far as saying best. It might be the cheese I have to admit I rather have the real nacho cheese...not white cheese it hardens and its not so appetizing. All in all it was a good spot to try. 3 stars for food 2 for service= 5 stars yay you pass lol...

The nachos here are by far the best I have ever had. Loaded with all the good stuff and tastes great. My mom would bring me here as a kid when they had the smaller place down the street and it is so nice to see such a great family owned business move their way up!

I LOVE this place. Hands down. It is a bit pricey for most mexican fare in the area, but so worth it. i'm a huge fan of the super nachos, which are a meal in themselves. I've had carnitas, chicken and asada top those nachos at one time or another, and all have been awesome. the carnitas are not overcooked or chewy, asada is not greasy, and the chicken isn't dry. great guacamole and fresh-tasting ingredients top the nacho plate. it's good to share, but so good, why would you want to?

  • Sylvia B.

We only order one thing, the super nachos! I prefer the chicken, which is piled on and for a small charge I add jalapeños Or onions and cilantro-that takes them to a whole new level. It is truly "Nacho Nirvana" for us nacho lovers! Don't believe me then just take a look at the posted pictures! The food is consistently great, never been disappointed.

Oldie but goodie, On my recent trip back to Pico Rivera I revisted one of my most fav places to have the best nachos everrr! Let me say that they did not let me down. They tasted just as good as I remembered and were big enough to share which was a plus. If you are ever in Cali you must try these nachos. Get the chile verde nachos they are the original and the bestest ever!

Let me tell u the nachos are the shit and I love there red salsa and of course you can't forget about the burritos there a little greasy but still very good!

Casa Garcia is a Pico Rivera go to spot for great Nachos. Their new location has seating with a nice atmosphere and very clean. The employees are very nice and always seem to make small talk when your ordering which is definitely a plus.

Green Chile Nachos..nuff said. Used to go to the one accross the street and was served by this old veteran dude with a thick mustach who always hooked it up. So weird that years later I came to the new location and Nachos tasted exactly the same as before..so good. True, their customer service is..Meh.. But when the crack is this good, do you really care how the dealer is serving it? Nope. This would have been a 5 star review, but they bumped up the price on their nachos and their place was a mess (cheese on the floor, chili on the tables, trash filled to the rim). Get it together Casa Garcia! You guys are the bomb!

All you've got to come here for are the original nachos. My family has been going to this establishment for over 20 years. Well we try, as we aren't from the area but its well worth the drive. I just love how the juice from the meat makes everything else in the nachos taste better. Just add some salsa for some spice and you're all set. Casa Garcia turned something so simple into something amazing and they've continued to do so for years. By far the best nachos I've had. Whenever I'm in Pico Rivera I crave those nachos. Keep up the good work.

One of my favorite places to eat at!!! I've been going there for over 20 years. They started out as a walk in restaurant only and now have recently moved to a dine in location. I ALWAYS get their famous nachos. I HIGHLY recommend this place.

  • Jessica E.

THE. BEST. NACHOS. YOU. WILL. EVER. HAVE. I feel so blessed to be introduced to this place. So delicious. So big. You need to share with someone. Don't go and get a burrito or taquitos. YOU HAVE TO GET THE NACHOS. Or else you just aren't doing it right. Listen to my advice and you will be in love at first taste.

Long story short, don't blame your customers for your mistakes. Secondly, don't charge customers for your mistakes. Your food isn't good to the point that I would want to come here again.

So I decided to grab a bite here before I went to the movies. I bought a carne asada taco and was actually okay. I really wanted to try their famous nachos that they brag about, but I couldn't bring outside food to the movie theatre. Still having the nacho craving from the day before, I went back the next day. Big mistake! I ordered the carne asada nachos and was surprised to see the cheese wasn't melted, it was just shredded and sprinkled over the chips and beans. When I asked the manager why the cheese wasn't melted, she said the heat from the meat will melt the cheese, but unfortunately it didn't. Then I asked for jalapeños and was told it's an additional .38 cents. Really!? So I finally sat down to eat and the meat had a nasty taste and had so much fat, that by the time I removed all the pieces of meat with fat; the nachos ended up being chips with beans. I thought they were a bit pricey, too. The salsa was about the only good thing out of this experience. They do give generous portions, but what good is the quantity if the quality isn't there. Long story short, the food is over rated. The nachos at King Taco are better and they don't charge extra for jalapeños.

Just like I remembered! But it's been so long since I've been there didn't realize they moved from their original location to a cushy, new location next to Krikorian Theaters. Well worth the search. So frickin' good! The chicken torta however should be eaten in the restaurant, was sogged out by the time I got it home, but it was still yummy!

Hands down, the best nachos I've eeeever had & the best food I've ever had! I've even coming here since as long as I can remember & I've NEVER been disappointed. All I've ever gotten is their nachos and every single time it's just as good as the last time. Their nachos is top five of my favorite foods to eat!

  • Tina-Marie L.

Are these the best nachos I've ever had? No. Are they pretty good? Definitely. Do I wish there was more chile verde on them? Yes. Especially with the $8+ price tag. I mean, they're nachos. If I'm craving nachos, then I'll hit up Casa Garcia. I don't think I'm down to try any of their menu items. Especially after reading that their nachos are the best thing.

  • Nancy P.

Like many people, I ate here as a local and they were only take-out. I have since moved to Long Beach and I can't find a place like it. Try the nachos with chile verde, completely amazing. I come back any chance I get. Ps. No more phone orders so expect to wait a few minutes. As in, you've been warned if you're starving.

This nachos are the BEST! There fresh cheese, avocado and the meat is SOOO good! There is nothing like Casa Garcia! Been coming here for over 20 yrs now.

Went here about a year ago, kept forgetting to write a review for this place. I went here with my international roommate for some authentic Mexican food (anything not Taco Bell) and for the rave about the nachos. I order the nachos, he go the chimichanga. The nachos were pretty good, a little pricey. That's not why Im giving 1 star. I'm giving 1 star because after my roommate finished half of his chimichanga, he pulled of a TOOTHPICK from it. (We hope to god it wasn't used). I can understand some misshape; stuff happens. However, how they handle it was unacceptable. We bought it to their attention about the toothpick. The cashier brought out the manager and after telling her the issue, the first thing she said was," What you wanna do about it?". Not sorry, not our mistake. He didn't really want another toothpick chimichanga, so we said we wanted to just bring it to their attention and threw it away. After this, I finished my nachos because ill be damned to throw away nachos that expensive. Than we bounced, haven't been and probably wont be back from now on.

You probably came here because someone local said that Casa Garcia has some of the best nachos in town, or heck, in all of Southern California. Do you take their word, or those of myself and fellow yelpers? Chances are the nachos brought you here. And for good reason. These aren't your Americanized "nachos" that are slathered in yellow cheese sauce. These ingredients are fresh and different, which helps them stand out. Chips, jack cheese, guacamole and your choice of meat (get the traditional chile verde, that's where ALL the flavor is). That's it. One order is enough to feed 2, maybe three people, so the price is right. I HIGHLY recommend getting the regular nachos with chile verde and adding some beans to the mix. Although the meat is usually enough to give it enough flavor, the beans add a whole new flavor dimension to the crispy flavor triangles. Trust me on this one. As far as their other offerings, their tacos and burritos are good. Nothing feels or tastes too greasy (sans the quesadillas, which can be a bit cheese-heavy) and it should be noted that they put the juice from their chile verde in a LOT of their menu items, so some items do have a little tendency to have a similar flavor. Ever since they moved to this new location a few years ago, adding MUCH needed seating area, the ambiance of the place has definitely improved. The people are nice and it's a decent place to stop by when the Mexican food craving hits. In a nutshell: Get the nachos with beans.

  • Catbox H.

Hands down, best loaded nachos I've ever had! It's all in the meat really. I had the Chile Verde nachos, and they were scrumptious and wasn't really greasy. Also, every single customer in the restaurant had nachos - that pretty much says everything.

I have been eating here for the last 30 years . Is best known for their nachos but their carnitas tacos are some of the best around. Highly recommend it. Only drawback is that they do not take phone orders any more

I've been coming here for years, and recently the food hasn't been the best. I usually order the regular nachos and lately they been cold and the tacos are soggy they need to pick up their game and stop being lazy no one likes their food cold!!!

I don't understand how this place has four stars..I got a carne asada torta! Complete mess! It seemed like they just threw it together.. I couldn't even pick it up without it falling apart! My carne was salty but I did enjoy the taste and amount of guacamole they provided..I also tried the nachos and it's not all it's cracked out to be..this isn't authentic Mexican food !

To be quite honest, this review is for nachos. Which I'm sure they all are. Why is it for nachos? Because that's all I've had. We used to come here (well to their old location) all the time when I was a kid. I recently visited this new location this last weekend when I had a hankering for nachos. My mom doesn't really like them (she prefers Pepe's, which is a different kind of nacho), but she willingly made a "sacrifice" for me and we stopped here to share an order since they're huge. I've had the super nachos, but the original nachos are always the best. They're served with freshly made chips, chili verde (so the chips at the bottom get slightly soggy and drenched in meat juice), tons of guacamole, and tons of monterey jack cheese. Load it up with hot sauce, and it's perfect. My mouth is watering as I write this. A part of me feared that the new location somehow would've affected the food. Was it really that the food was never good and it was nostalgia that kept me coming back? No, it was definitely the food. This location is such an improvement. Fast moving, and air conditioned.

Food is made well and portions are good for the cost. Tacos are made with lots of filling, guacamole, lettuce, tomato and cheese. Enough for a salad. Taquitos are nothing to brag about. $3.99 for 3 with guacamole. Place is clean and maintained. Staff is young and are always busy cleaning of preparing orders. Atmosphere is relaxed and has a feeling of comfort. Everyone seems to know everyone.... has seating for about 50. Double and quad tables.Makes party trays too. Chili Sauce is great. Take some home if you can.

So let me straight up with my Yelping community I am a Nacho Cheese kind of guy. Yes that's right the golden molten lava fake cheese stuff that comes from a can. That being said I kind of enjoyed these nachos but I wouldn't put them on the top of my list. Unfortunately it is not my cup of tea but I thought for sure they might make me a believer. So here are the pros and cons: Chips= Fresh and crunchy till the last bite (I'm a fan) Meat was carne asada= tasty and not overcooked (I'm a fan) Cheese= shredded white cheese with good flavor but it never really melted and left some chips naked (not a fan) Toppings include guacamole and crème= the crème was good but pretty common and the guacamole had a good texture and flavor was good and well seasoned (I'm a fan) Price= too rich for my blood $9.20 (Definitely not a fan) So my final word on this place is that I wouldn't mind going back after pay day or someone else was treating. I definitely would not order the nachos but the burrito was good unfortunately I didn't order that but I was lucky enough to get a bite.

I have been going to the ORIGINAL casa garcia for years and the new place does not compare at all. The new restaurant is generic like every other small shop in SoCal and the people working in the kitchen are not the same people that ran the original kitchen. The service is slow, and the teenage girls working the front counter definitely don't care about the happiness of the customer. Hey casa garcia, here is a creative thought for you: If you TRULY cared about your customer but can't seem to get your orders out in time, at least start taking phone orders! Why does the customer have to sit around and wait because you have a poorly staffed kitchen???

    (2)
  • Vero N.

Horrible customer service!!!! I was called back to pick up a napkin from the table because she said " I WONT PICK IT UP!" Really?! Where is management? Just lost 10 customers!

Best nachos EVER! Not to mention the asada tacos are delicious with a great amount of meat compared to other taco places. This is my spot for nachos and tacos.. Hopefully they start opening places everywhere cause they're so amazing!!

Love this place. After so many years, the food is still the same. (except the prices)

    (5)
  • Angel T.

BEST NACHOS...EVER!!! The carne asada nachos never dissapoint, although they have a variety of meats. They have large servings, topped with a lot of grated cheese, sour cream and guacamole!! So be prepared to take some leftovers home. The only downfall about that is nachos never taste the same once cold.

  • Patrick S.

FORGET THE BORING NACHOS (Cheese and Chips) - IF YOU WANT GOOD UNIQUE NACHOS GO HERE AND TRY THE CHILE VERDE NACHOS! I've been going here since I was 7 years old(am 32 now). Their Chile Verde recipe hasn't changed since then - AND IT SHOULDN'T. Chile Verde Nachos is the original nachos. This is what their known for and it shows. People line up, snaking around the restaurant on any given weekend. One order is shareable but if you are a "phat a$$" like I me, you can finish one and not eat for the rest of the day. They have traditional items also, but I have never really tried them. There's other places for that(ie King Taco and El Galvan).

    (5)
  • Rudy A.

Food is good but overpriced. They can't even give you a cup for water. I was told if I wanted water, I needed to buy a bottle of water! Heads up to the owner.....greed will get you no where!

  • Edgar M.

I like these Nachos better than other "famous" places in LA. I'm not even a Nacho person. I actually order the all meat asada burrito and bum nachos off other people. They make their own chips and the meat has always tasted great to me. They give you plenty of food, though you do pay for it (not cheap, but still reasonable). I've never had a problem with slow service or too little food, as others have written. I actually couldn't finish a nacho plate on my own. For all those negative reviews, I'm sure they keep coming back because no place around the neighborhood is as good as Casa Garcia. I actually learned about it from a co-worker in La Puente. We would drive from out there for lunch and fight the 605 traffic while risking going over our hour lunch. It was well worth it too. It's that good.

  • Mike F.

I've had a couple of things at this place. About a year ago, I tried their nachos for the first time (at the old location). They were good, but I'm not sure about all the raving. Then again, I'm not a nachos kinda guy. I recently had their all meat carne asada burrito, and it was way better than I expected. Their hot sauce provides just the right amount of kick, and the burrito was rather large for the price paid. It's jam packed full of meat, and they'll add onions and cilantro inside upon request. Get it like that. You'll like it.

    (4)
  • Lupe J.

"Best Nachos in Town"? Not! Ultimate nachos... Raw onions? lettuce? Tomatoes? These are not nachos! Not worth my $10.85. Poor quality crane asana.

    (1)
  • Fred P.

I still love the nachos but now I noticed the difference. At the old place there was a propensity for the cooks to hook it up big since most who order are watching the cooking and prep. At the new place, it seems that you get a lil less carne and juice (you have to ask of course). The pace of the customer service is also slower, now the cooks look out at the diners, before it was 1, 2, 3 out with the order. Still love the food but there is good competition in Pico so they need to step it up again.

My daughter and granddaughter had lunch here today, I try not to drink sweet things and I hate diet sodas, I am diabetic and I asked for a glass just for water, I was told no and to read sign they had on counter. Beans were watery rice was just ok tacos ok, over all I would not eat here again. My daughter loves their nachos. I did not try. So sad that girl had a little attitude.

  • Sunnie W.

I used to frequent this place, they had the best nachos ever! Last year, they moved down the street to a bigger location and now their food is really overpriced!!! I feel like I'm being duped into paying their rent. The flavor is exactly what I remember but the serving size has been cut in half! I suggest going to Albertos in Montebello.

This review is for the Carne Asada Nachos. First off, if I had known there were "Super" nachos to be ordered, I would have done that, well ... except I would have had to dish out another $2 just for beaners and some sour cream. So, I guess the good ratings given for this establishment are for the Chile Verde Nachos. I draw this conclusion because the Carne Asada ones were horrible. The meat is undercooked, I guess, because it was hard. It had no flavor and was full of CEBO (chunks of FAT). I picked out about 1/3 of my meat because I didn't dare put that in my mouth (and I've been known to put almost anything in my mouth), so that says a lot. I do have to mention that the cheese was fresh and the guacamole was the real thing. Although, one random bite into a chip caused a flow of oil to come gushing out onto the table and down my face. I must've hit a geiser. What a buzz kill! Since my husband is so fond of this place (for their burritos), I think I will try another dish, preferrably of the Chile Verde type, in the future. As for the seating arrangements, please be warned that if you sit in the middle aisles, your food will be gawked at by people standing in line and they WILL occasionally bump your shoulder with their purses or badunkadunks.

  • Adam G.

I would totally give this place a 5 stars if it was still in its old location near target. Ever since it moved the quality has gone down a bit. There have been numerous times when i pick up an order to go drive home and lick my chops for some good nachos and tortas, only to be disappointed because the is spoiled. This totally ruins the meal especially after pouring it onto my food. The salsa in my opinion is what makes the food even better. The nachos are delicious and so are the shredded beef tacos and the tortas de asada. Oh My i love this place i have been a frequent visitor here for over 14 years and i hope it never goes away.

    (4)
  • Oscar G.

Ever since they moved to the new location, the service and food itself is lacking. The nachos are lighter, less chips, less toppings. The service sucks and I preferred the other set up of being able to watch the guys prepare the food in front of the glass window. There have been times where I call and call to place and order and they don't pick up phone. I go over there and they are open. I placed an order once over the phone and drove there, they still haven't even made it.

Pretty, Pretty good. I usually order the Taquitos. Yum. Nachos are good too. I haven't had a bad meal here yet. Though sometimes they forget to put the onions and cilantro on the soft tacos....(that's crazt, and makes me mad) I love onions and cilantro, Please don't ever forget again Casa Garcia!!!!

Would be 4.5 if I could give that rate. Came here last week, and from reading most of the reviews, our food was great! Definitely found a new nacho place and will be returning often.

New location same great food. Very clean location with simple decor. Menu board makes ordering much easier than before. Love the self serve drink station. So what did we order- SUPER NACHOS! Made our trip from Riverside worthwhile. If you haven't tried the Casa Garcia specialty, it definately needs to be on your bucket list. See you next time.

  • Roland L.

A place known for it's nachos, but I don't see why. Every time I have ordered nachos, the chips are way too hard, too much cheese and hardly any meat. Each time I have ordered carne asada nachos, I get many hard cartilage pieces. Yuck!

  • Sean Y.

Because my self-control sometimes resembles that of an ant, I imagine I might be tempted to partake in a dazzling array of controlled substances if they were legal...but since they're not, I guess I won't...a deterrent, if you will. Just like with this joint. Even though I love their guddamn nachos, I didn't eat here all that much because the old spot used to be so small, I was forced to eat in my car in the adjacent Target parking lot or drive home with them and by then, some of the magic is lost. Both options kinda sucked, but every now and then I'd bite the bullet...but now they've done changed the game. But real quick, the nachos...that's the flagship of this place. Rightfully so. Yeah they serve other stuff...burritos, tacos, etc. But the nachos are the star of the show... -Homemade tortilla chips...the thick kind. -A huge ladle of chile verde. I always order extra meat. -A huge dollop of guacamole...the REAL kind, not that fake-ass alien piss that some other places try to serve. -A generous handful of shredded jack cheese tops it off.. ...and that's it. Simple and delicious. Trust me, every messican and all 5 of the white people that live in Pico Rivera love these nachos...if you try them and don't enjoy them, please drive over to 1st Street and leap head-first from the bridge...you have no taste... I digress...so now CG has gone and moved down the street into a nice new sit-down joint complete with a soda fountain and comfy booths. I was here the other day and almost came back the very next day... The deterrent is gone...I'm doomed. I hope the Feds never legalize cocaine.

Food is good depending on the cook and server. Nachos are the best thing here although sometimes they skimp out or get your special request wrong. Great prices good Mexican fast food better then Alberto's.

Rudest customer service! They tell us and other tables that we have five minutes left to eat because they're closing. Gets my order wrong and doesn't want to fix it. After arguing back and forth they finally fix my order. Food is very over priced. Very poor/bad customer service. Customer obviously does not come first.

    (1)
  • Christina M.

The Best Origina Nachos!!! My order is usually original nachos with no pork meat . Instead extra guacamole and pork juice on side....Yummy Treat Suggestion: Plz keep all tables, floors and trash cans clean. More staff needed.

Best tasting nachos in my perspective ! They can use a little more Asada but other then that they were amazingly good!

    (5)
  • Ernest G.

Nachos are amazing but I have to admit last time I ordered carne asada nachos there it literally had no meat in it. I know they were busy and all but that shouldn't have happened. This place should get a 5 star but for now a 3

    (3)
  • Ron M.

Supposedly the nachos here are to die for. After ordering the super nachos with carne asada I politely disagree. No question, the nachos at Casa Garcia are perfectly acceptable but to me, nachos means melted cheese. You won't get melted cheese at Casa Garcia. There are 2 types of nachos, those that come with nacho cheese like they serve at king taco or carnitas michochan and the type they serve at Casa Garcia which comes with grated cheese. I like both kinds, but if I'm having the grated cheese kind, the cheese must, must, must, be melted. Seating here can be a challenge, especially if you have a big group. They have plenty of 2 people booths, and only 2 booth's that seat 4. They have plenty of tables but they are all butted up next to each other so tightly that no one from East LA or Pico Rivera would be able to squeeze into. Casa Garcia's nachos are serviceable but I've had better.

  • P N.

So today 8/25/11 was the first day at the new location. Old location is closed but this one is less than a block away at the Krikorian Village Walk Theater. This location is way better. First off they have tables so you don't have to eat your nachos in your car before they get soggy. They have self serve drinks and a restroom. They kept the stainless steel look for the kitchen and brought over the old sign to add to the decor. I was the second order at the new location. I was expecting the food to be off since the new stuff isn't 'seasoned' yet but it tasted the same. I also asked for guacamole on the side which the gave to me on the taquitos instead which strangely enough is just like the old spot. ;)The place looks real nice inside and out. They accept credit transactions but not debit transactions due to their merchant account which sucks.

    (5)
  • Diana P.

Well, If you visited the previous location not much has changed except that they now have seating & a self serve soda station. If you haven't been there, they have some great chile verde (pork chunks in green chili) super nachos which are freakin delicious. Casa Garcia doesn't skimp on their toppings which makes the food that much better. It really is great food!

Sometimes the nachos are really good but if you're taking them home, they get cold fast. Some of the food is over priced especially for a bean and cheese burrito. There's a long wait because most of the time this place is busy... They don't take phone orders...

    (3)
  • Cindi B.

SUPER NACHOS~ one word AMAZING! One order will feed 4 small sized people or 3 medium sized people..lol. This place is always busy so be prepared to wait... but it's worth it. It's also a little pricey, but again-worth it! Have had the burritos or other plates, but I've heard they are just as good. Definitely worth the drive too!

  • Albert W.

People come here for the nachos. It's big and piled high. Food is similar to the Alberto's type of nachos except this place is a sit in and it's clean. Also it's in the same shopping center as the theater so don't follow the GPS.

This is the spot from my hood. If you have to get one thing from Casa Garcia, Nachos. I order the Carne Asada nachos and add beans. Can't go wrong. If you're still hungry order the taquitos

  • Terri B.

They honestly do have the best food. We have been coming here for years, they are famous for their nachos. I'm excited about their new location will finally have a place to sit and enjoy our food. The only thing I don't like is their service, the cashiers are always moody and rude, Ive just have learned to deal with it, get my food and leave. Maybe they'll hire nice happy people to service their new location. I would give them 4 stars for the food but I have to deduct for their mean cashiers.

  • Michael O.

Can't go wrong with the super nachos. That's actually all I have ever tried at Casa Garcia. A little on the pricier side but the quality matches the price. Super nachos don't get much better than this.

  • Debbie D.

I have always loved the nachos at casa garcia and told everyone they r the best! i had not been to their new location until today and was totally looking forward to some great nachos. What a disappointment!! the nachos were all chips and little else for 9.95!! Ur employees were nice but too bad the food wasn't. Totally let down!

Liked the place, liked the customer service, but I was disappointed with the chile verde nachos. I was so pumped up. I read the Yelp reviews and my girlfriend raved about it. It was okay, had better. Good luck to them.

When you think of, "nachos".... does it conjure up images of stale tortilla chips saturated in gooey neon orange cheese-product? If so, you're probably deprived of ever having had AWESOME nachos, and as a Los Angeleano this is a "must-do". Having been engaged to a "nacho afficianado" for nearly 5 years, I've tasted my share of nachos.. and there is only one other place in all of L.A. that comes even remotely close to preparing nachos as delicously decadent as Casa Garcia does. It's a hole in the wall, but you can't miss it because there's always a line out the door. What makes the nachos so good? Well let's start with the chips. They not those paperthin processed prepackaged tostido chips that we're all used to. These are deep fried corn tortillas cut into four portions to look like chips. This creates a a great crunchy texture for which they pour over whichever type of meat you like. We always get the shreadded beef, but ask them to drizzle the juice of the chile verde pork over the nachos as well. I highly recommend this approach. You can also get beans, or not... it's up to you. Finally the entire giant thing is covered in lots of shreaded monterey jack cheese, guacamole and sour cream (if you wish)... also there is a great hot sauce, just ask for it. Nothing fancy here, but the combination of these flavors is outstanding! Please be warned though, this is some serious eating you are about to do... and it can be a dangerous venture if you don't pace yourself... and it will hurt. This is something you only want to do occasionally, because the problem therein lies in the fact that once you start eating these nachos, there is no stopping you. They are THAT good! So what inevitably happens is that you eat too much of them, and then your body is useless for the next two hours....and there will be lots and lots of moaning (of both joy and agony). Therefore the best time to eat these nachos is during a movie or football game. Gives the tummy plenty of time to recover. Casa Garcia is an institution for those from the East L.A. area, and it's unfortunate that they haven't taken some of their earnings and opened up new locations in numerous other parts of L.A.... I mean who's running this place? Invest the money from your cashcow, and turn it into a franchise. Oh well, like I said in the beginning... all Angeleanos should try Casa Garcia at least once. It'll change your view on what nachos should look and taste like.

what can I say. I been eating Casa Garcia nachos since i was like very little. Now I take my daughter to eat nachos, she loves them. They are the best nachos in town. Also the new locations is great its right next to the Krikorian theater, it has a bigger spot so you can sit down and eat.

The best nachos ever! My rating is based on the nachos only. My good friend grew up in Whittier and brought me to Casa Garcia during our college days. I've been hooked ever since. I personally prefer the original nachos and sometimes add sour cream. The super nachos and super combo nachos include more toppings/ingredients (beans, carne asada, sour cream..) but I think the Original are fine the way they are. I order the chile verde nachos, which consist of tender pork meat in chile verde sauce. If you want real Mexican nachos, this is the place to visit. FYI There is no seating, the place is small, but usually they have a couple chairs outside. Casa Garcia will be moving to a new location which will have a seating area within the next month or two I believe.

  • Jen G.

Their nachos are amazing! For around eight dollars you can have a meal for two and still have leftovers! The chips are made fresh.. And its topped with chile verde pork, monterey jack cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Yummm. I usually add beans to my nachos too.(: The people who work there are friendly and the service is quick. Even when the line is out the door. The only downside is that the place is small and there is really nowhere to sit and eat. I hope they open up the new location very soon! I'll most likely be there opening day haha

  • Dani M.

hate to say this.... but the nachos arent the same anymore as they used to be. ever since they moved to the new location, I go rarely.

I was here 2 weeks ago it was great as always, today the Nachos were greasy ( not in a good way) the cheese was grated thin and sparse and to tell the truth it just wasn't good

So many people have been telling me how great the nachos were at this place. So I order Asada Nachos and they were Horrible!!! I go back and tell all the people that were talking so highly about it. They said I got the wring Nachos, that I was supposed to get the Chile Verde Nachos. I went back today and what a difference! Very good! Just a bit on the pricey side.

    (4)
  • George B.

Honestly... Maybe the best nachos I've ever had!

    (5)
  • Elmo N.

Yes the Nachos WERE great but I recently found out they have closed their doors :( Where to go now for my nachos? Thanks for the heads up guys, nice to know this place is still rockin! Headed over for a fix.

  • Supattra S.

Yummyyyy! Today I came with my boyfriend and his family. The nachos were sooo good. Definitely would recommend this place. The nachos come in a huge takeout box w/ chips, meat, cheese, guacamole, and more. :D

    (4)
  • Jacob T.

You go for the nachos. The chips here are excellent and that makes all the difference. Get the super nachos and just dig in. I prefer the chili verde, it's consistently great, the chicken is good too but the chili verde is usually attacked first when I go with a group. Their red chili is also tasty; I end up pouring it all over the nachos, but it's still good even without.

    (5)
  • J G.

They finally moved locations next to the PICO RIVERA Kirkorian Theaters!! Their servings are back to normal, instead of ripping you off and there is seating inside! they have some nice ladies working there that don't charge you no DAMN 10 cents for extra chile! LONG LIVE CASA GARCIA!

    (5)
  • Stacy S.

My husband insisted we eat here after he did a printing job for their menus. I've now eaten here three times and it gets better each time. I recommend the Chile Verde super nachos or plate. The carne asada nachos are also great, as are the Flautas, which I request with guacamole NOT sour cream. Stay away from the flavorless chicken soft tacos...

  • Tisha N.

I have been going to Casa Garcia since it opened. Im originally from Pico and moved to the OC. They have the best Nachos EVER!!! They also have really good burritos too. I am so excited to see the new location were you can sit down and enjoy your food. Now I can eat them fresh before ending back to the OC.

Bad customer service and the nachos weren't even good to make up for the lack of service. :\

  • Ralph G.

I'm NOT going to say this is the best place ever! But the nachos with chile verde are delicious!!! I've tried other things on their menu and I'm not impressed, they're not bad, but not great either! But no matter what I get with the chile verde and pork, I'm beyond satisfied! Back to the nachos: Great chips that are made there; great tender pork with green chile, not spicy just with great flavor; fresh guacamole, not the watery stuff; and mounds of fresh cheese! They are great!!!! Family favorites: Taquitos, shredded beef crunchy tacos, green chile burrito.

  • Eduardo P.

I would've rated this place 4 stars if they'd used good-quality meat. We ordered the carne asada nachos and about 90% of the "meat" was either fat or tendon--it was grossly off-putting. The salsa and the guac were really good but I refuse to patronize a business that doesn't care about quality especially their meat.

    (2)
  • Phillip P.

Best place to go to for Nachos, new location is nice and clean and has a dining area now, but the food is just as good as its always been. I usually order the nachos with no juice (meat juice) is what I call it. if u don't specify that and u take ur plastic bag of nachos home or to ur car u could have a cup or so of meat juice all over the place. the carnita tacos and Louie Louie burrito are also bomb here!

The best nachos/Mexican food ever...sorry King Taco!

  • Laura R.

A coworker first introduced me to Casa Garcia when I moved to Whittier 10 years ago and was asking if there was any good places to eat in and around the area. She recommended the nachos of course and the Louie Louie, which is a double chile relleno burrito. That burrito is good because unlike some chile relleno burritos they don't add ranchera sauce so its just the rice beans lettuce tomato and chile. Oh, and its big enough for two. The nachos however, are what they are known for. My friend Rogelio LOVES nachos. We got some a couple years back for Halloween but nachos don't keep that well and he wasn't that impressed. It used to be strictly take out. Fast forward to their new location in the shopping center where the Pico Rivera Krikorian is and add seating for dine in and you have a winning combination. The place is always busy. The Ultimate Nachos are HUGE! They come with asada, chile verde, beans , guacamole, cheese, sour cream, lettuce, tomato, and onion. They have smaller nachos with less ingredients and of course you can't go wrong with their basic original nachos. I've also had their carnitas soft tacos and those are so good, the only problem I have is that I'm not a big fan of their chile salsa, but those little tacos are amongst the most flavorful I've ever had. Oh and their guacamole is real! All in all this is a great nacho place and I'm really glad they are now a dine in establishment. Now I feel like eating some Nachos!

I'm an very disappointed in my trip today at casa Garcia. My order was incorrect and when I went back up to the front to told them. I received poor service from the girl working and she walked away without asking if I wanted it fixed. I work in custom service and the she handled the situation wasn't how it should be handled. I won't be coming back here anymore. And you can thank the girl with the jacked up eyebrows for that one. :)

Chili verde nachos add beans! Best nachos around and i'm not even a huge fan of nachos but these are delicous. Love all that fresh shredded cheese, meat, chili......mmmm mmmm

  • Maria M.

Nachos are overrated. The cheese isn't melted and the green chile is dry. I do like their new location. I do recommend their hard shell tacos ( shredded meat, make sure it's not asada. That's a disaster) and their flautas are priced well and taste good.

I go to the Target there alot, so I had walked by this place a million times without noticing it. I was excited to find the rave reviews about this place on Yelp because I love nachos, so the first chance I got, I hit this place up. I went on a Saturday afternoon right when they opened, but to my surprise was not the first person there. Actually I was the third person there and both of them ordered multiple orders of nachos, which was a good sign. I ordered the carne asada nachos and I got a whole heaping of food. But ultimately, I was disappointed. I mean all the ingredients are there and its all good, but it just doesn't seem like nachos to me unless the cheese is melted. To me, this is just tortilla chips with hella stuff loaded on top. I didn't notice at the restaurant that they don't melt the cheese on top so imagine my disappointment when I opened up the box and had to nuke it in the microwave, making the chips lose a little bit of its crispness. Granted the place gets hella busy and melting the cheese would take a bit more time, but whatever. It would be better. Cost: $7 for a carne asada nacho

  • bobby r.

With the fully loaded nachos, you can feel every chip pushing you one step closer to death. Very delicious, but I always feel like a fatty after I eat here. So if you like chips to go along with your mountain of cheese and meat, try this place.

  • Melissa Q.

I get nervous going to a place with a lot of hype, "this is the bomb" "the best nacho's ever!!" "so gotta try this". Mostly because you set high expectations for the place and when you go, utter disappointment. So after years of my brothers and their friends ranting and raving over this place, I decided to go with them and give it a try. It's a small hole in the wall and easy to miss, unless you go there at 5:00pm and see a line out the door waiting to get in. It's so small, its take out only. For a long line, service was pretty quick; after all, they just throw everything together since everyone seemed to order the nachos. Also, CASH only. I ordered the Chile verde nachos (pork). They looked so good with the juice over it, lots of shredded cheese, decent scoop of guacamole and sour cream. I opted not to get the beans since my bro's got that. It smelled so good, I was excited, and I LOVE nachos to begin with. When we got home, the chili verde was still warm and the cheese slightly melted. Some of the chips in the middle were soggy from the 8 minute drive home and there wasn't enough pork for the nachos. Now I know why my brothers asked for an extra scoop of the chili verde, but even then, it seemed like there was just double the juice... WHERES THE MEAT!! This was my big disappointment. So now I get the double scoop of the meat. The chili verde was full with flavor. The chips that weren't drowned it's the juices tasted nice and fresh and not stale like some places would do you. Just FYI, if you like your cheese completely melted, this may not be the place for you.

Ok, this place is puny....i mean itsy teenie small. Now im kinda tall and slightly horizontally challenged so this place was very clausterphobic. (I'd like to emphasize slightly) So let me warn you....there's no table or seats. You'll have to order take out or eat standing outside. This place supposingly has the best nachos in town. I ordered up their carne asada nachos with no add ons. Sour cream and some other toppings will cost you extra. I was dissappointed that they didnt have a soda dispenser....so no refills....just bottled water and soda cans. My meal cost me $8.10....if you were to add sour cream and whatever topping they had and have a drink....you're looking at a $9-$11 meal. DAMN! So my boss and I are chowing down, sitting on walkway. The chips were thick and had greasy goodness. The carne asada was lean and served with fresh guac. What I didnt like was that they don't melt the cheese. They just dump it on top of the meat. All in all, it was okay. My boss, born and raised in East LA didnt think much of it. Sorry Rick, I know you loved it. (yelp bud) Service was great and fast, nachos were okay, but way too expensive for my taste. They post a letter apologizing to their customers about having to raise their prices due to the cost of food.....so they must of had some complaints. I've yet to see any restaurant raise their prices even with high rice and wheat prices early this year.I guess I can say that I've been there. I can also say that I won't be going back. My wallet can't take this kind of punishment.

Ok, so when it comes to nachos I am EXTREMELY picky. I do not like nacho cheese nachos, those are just bootleg. I want REAL nachos. Iv'e had a lot of nachos and Casa Garcia's is by far THE BEST! I'll make the 25-30min drive just to get these nachos. I wish they were open later though. Chili verde pork on nachos...WOW. The special usually consists of the Chile verde, cheese and guacamole and everything else is extra. I usually add beans and sour cream. The guacamole is real guacamole too, not the watery stuff. The chips are homemade, nice and crispy and oily. They give you a nice portion as well. There is nowhere to sit and enjoy your nachos though, so hopefully you live close or have a spot close by to eat them before they get soggy on you.

Ignacio was a wise man. he put some tasty stuff on top of tortilla chips, and created a masterpiece. its a good thing he did, too!. had he not become the namesake of this great food, im positive a plate of slathered tortilla chips would, today be known as "Garcia's". My g/f's Father, Tony, was a big influence on me. one day after working on his 55 Chevy truck all day, he took me to this little hole-in-the wall called "Casa Garcia". i waited outside seeing as the little nook was full of people. Tony soon emerged with a plastic bag with two foam containers inside. when we got back to the truck, he handed me one of the boxes and told me to dig in. when i opened it, it looked very plain. a large pile of chips slapped with a large dollop of guacamole and coated with a generous helping of shredded jack cheese. there were bits and chunks of pork scattered about in between the chips. i was a little confused at first, not finding any refried beans, or sour cream. but if Tony said they were good, i was willing to go on faith. my first bite was a soggy chip taken from the bottom. i was pleased to taste the sour/spicyness of the Chile Verde that the pork had been stewed in. the flavors melded together so perfectly. the home-made chips were sturdy enough to hold the juice and still be crispy. wow, i was blown away. Tony had started working on the truck again, but i was still entranced with my lunch. it wasnt until i heard the clang of a dropped wrench that i snapped out of my daze, and put the remnants down to get back to work. minutes later i almost licked that foam container clean. i have written reviews about other nachos(see Villa's Tacos) but these must stand alone as the Best Nachos i have ever had the pleasure to devour. shed your expectations of what you think Nachos should be, and prepare yourself to be surprised, and stuffed.

Every time someone describes something to me as the "best thing ever," I am disappointed. This was no exception. Drove for about 20 minutes to pick up these nachos. I think it's a plus that it's actual cheese on them. But what the heck is up with the cheese NOT being melted? That is just wrong to me! They didn't taste bad at all, but I would never go back.

  • Rachel H.

1/3/13. We have been to your location for many years. The old place I have no complaints. But your new place We have tried several times and I keep thinking it will be better. It really did not the burrito the flour tortilla was so dry it was breaking as my daughter ate it . The tortilla should be soft not dry. And the taquitos were half cooked and you get stinger with the guacamole. I don't think we will give you another try,,,

  • Emily P.

What i like is that it is a hot spot in Pico Rivera I have already seen friends of the family have posted about the nachos which are always great but i will posted about the meat, it is delicious soft and juicy and chunky some places they over cook it and it is thin and hard.I would also like to review the rice is fluffy and soft most people review the beans but i would much rather have a side of rice than beans because i could always have beans at home both my grandma and mom make them but rarely does my mom make mexican rice because we are the only two that will eat it but everybody beats out my moms rice but don't tell on me. My grandma only makes white rice i guess nobody taught them how to make rice but they didn't. So, I love rice and get it at every mexican restraunt.

Best Nachos in town....hmmm...you bet your NACHOS they are...but don't forget the Carne Asada burritos with guacamole, sour cream, a dash of pork chile verde sauce, that is as big as your calf muscle!! The carne asada is first class. I think the nachos get too mushy if you take the long way home, so I usually get 3 speeding tickets everytime I go home from this place. Thank God they have started taking ATM cards.

The Nachos are the BEST IN TOWN! The tacos and burritos are great too - but the NACHOS ARE A MEAL!! So good!

Another place recommended to me by a friend. The nachos rock here!!!! It's a tiny place with no tables or chairs inside, only a few chairs right out the door to enjoy the goodness of Casa Garcia. Big portions and very cheap! :-)

  • Ulysses B.

This place is the bomb!!!! The nachos are the best I have ever had. I live in LA and drive to this place just for that. Althought I'm not to thrilled about the move, I hope they remain the same and not start changing up the menu...I kind of like the hole-in-the-wall feel.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
