My favourite Starbucks in the world!!! A good spot to study and chill. They have Reserve Coffees charging mat and evening snacks and wines. What more can you ask for? You can also order through the app if the queue is extremely long. But the best part are the baristas. They are super nice and welcoming, especially CHRIS! Always glad to visit this place. In terms of customer service, the standard here is much higher than any of the other Starbucks I've ever been.

As I sit in this Starbucks and write this review I'm a tad disappointed in what I just witnessed. A homeless man, I'm assuming or perhaps he was just an "odd" man, was just (who didn't smell, who wasn't doing anything annoying or obscene) just asked to leave as he was eating his (paid for) bagel and cream cheese. To me a customer is a customer... He spent his money and was trying to enjoy his breakfast just like the rest of us. Very disappointing to see this first hand. It's one thing if the guy smelt super bad BUT he didn't... I know this to be true because I was sitting right next to him. The employee who did the dis was a little guy named Chris. Who had the worst short man's complex I've ever seen. Not a typical amazing Starbucks employee. I'd suggest the manager of this location rethink this hire and quick. I'm a HUGE Starbucks fan. Always make it a point to go to an establishment in every city I'm in. I'm from San Diego in fact and I'm in Pasadena for a conference over at Cal Tech. Never in a million years would I ever think I'd give my all time favorite coffee shop two stars. Sadly today is that day.... Not cool Chris, you did the wrong thing. Shame on you.

Have you ever been to a middle school library at lunchtime?... Okay, understandably you probably have not since you were in middle school. Unless you're a middle school librarian. Or a middle school student. Or a principal like... well, you get the idea. That's pretty much all you need to know about the Starbucks. They serve coffee, hot coffee... Flavored coffee... Foamy, whippy, sugary goodness. The cacophonous din that hangs in the air at this location has a volume directly correlated to the class schedule at nearby Pasadena City College. Aside: my late aunt, Aggie, Who lived on nearby Marion Street, used to frequent this location. She would spend the better part of the day there, knitting and crocheting all sorts of incredible creations - - blankets, animals, stuffed critters, and other interesting things. She was a pretty incredible, but very unassuming person. If you're reading this, I wonder if you remember her? It has been several years since she passed away, but she was in there pretty much every day, drinking coffee, and creating things with her hands. Anyway, if you're on Colorado between Hill and Allenn and just can't make it home without getting a cinnamon dolce latte, this Starbucks is as good as any other to make a stop, drop five bucks, and caffeine up.

I hate writing a review like this because I don't want to come off as a heartless cruel person. But I have to be honest. First, the positive - very friendly, smiling young man taking my drink order at the counter. He was very attentive and nice Now the Negative - not even 7pm yet. Half the place packed with students studying. The other half of the place ? - homeless people with bags and bags of stuff with them. Most people in each group had really no obvious drink that they have purchased - or maybe they had finished it, and just had not purchased another. The lady in front of me was homeless with all of her bags, and she did purchase her drink. . She was very nice and bless her, paid for a drink with change. She had every right to be there. But after I had my drink, I start walking around looking for a chair. There are none. All those students studying, where were their drinks ? Then I saw at least three tables of homeless people, bags of stuff - but no drinks. I went all the way to the other end of the store, to the corner - and there was a homeless person with numerous bags piled high in the corner. He was taking up enough seating for a party of four people. I went outside and it was warm enough to sit outside. There was not a single paying customer at the outside tables. There were 3 homeless men - once again, with no Starbucks drinks that they had purchased. I did not feel safe sitting on the patio whatsoever. Okay, Starbucks - it was not a raining freezing night where the manager could be concerned about his fellow human beings safety. It was a nice cool night about 7pm. If you are concerned about the homeless people in the area - give them a free cup of coffee and Keep printed lists of homeless shelters and food pantries in the area, then hand them a copy so they can get the things they need from the proper resources. But, myself, a paying customer, had no place to sit. Isn't a customer supposed to make a purchase every few hours to be able to keep their table ? Isn't there a rule like that? The manager needs to explain this to all of those students taking up your tables studying. I go to Starbucks at least 4 times a week. This is the first Starbucks I have been to where I felt unsafe, and unappreciated as a paying customer. I won't be back to this particular Starbucks ever.

I'm a student at PCC so this is in perfect proximity. I'm sure it gets crowded during the day but I'm only here in the mornings an it's not too crowded. The baristas are the friendliest of all Starbucks and the REALLY know how to make their drinks. It's pretty clean in here as well.

  • Allison Y.

Been to this location a few times when I'm in the area. Always packed with students from PCC across the street. Although they have at least three baristas working, the line is always building. Lots of businesses in the area as well that order in bulk so wait time can be even longer. Parking lot is in the back or you can park on the street.

It's quite unfortunate to rate this 3 stars and this is 3 stars for drinks I have ordered here because they tasted good. MINUS TWO STARS FOR: -Slow service, whether it's making drinks, taking orders, or just chatting a bit with each other -Need to sign into wifi every time but too slow to even load that page! -Most importantly, the amount of loitering (sometimes homeless/mentally disabled) people in the store. I have no problem with them coming in because it is cold but it gets to the point where I am being disturbed and cannot do work inside anymore. I feel bad but I think it should be regulated, as old reviews have said, since they are not really being customers to the store.

I ordered a green tea latte, one of my faves i was surprised when they handed it to me and the powder was not mixed at all and there was powder all over the lid. I've never received it like this. When I asked the blond working (didn't catch her name) if she could please mix it she rolled her eyes and made no effort. She said "All you have to do is mix it.. We usually mix it of you ask us" ... What? wait. I just asked you. She thenplaced it back on the counter and turned around. I was very surprised by this type of service. Rude.

I've been here several times and since its really close to PCC the lines are really long and sometimes it's not even worth the wait. Go else where. Several spots near by. Check them out.

BUSY SBX! Avoid this during school hours! Comfy, not quiet, lots of students chatting, Very roomy, and has outdoor seating. Small Parking lot in the back, 1 hr parking only. Plus it's next to B of A! Greeted nicely and asked for what drink i wanted, not by the cashier, i would like to add. The cashier (she) was 5/10 I'll tell you why. The person ahead of me had some type of issue, i don't know what it was, but you made a bad impression when you gave attitude (rolling eyes) when the woman infrom of me walked away. I'm watching this all happen and really thought you were unprofessional, no matter what the issue was. I did not know what the issue was, until i put 2 & 2 together. SBX used to offer a tall cup of coffee when you purchased a bag of SBX brand coffee at the market. This lady wanted to redeem her tall cup (could have been old packaging because they do not offer this anymore). She gave her bag and there was soft words exchanged. The cashier said "I'm not allowed to do that", the lady said, "they have done it before..." she probably just finished her coffee bag today with that promo... anywho, the lady walked away with her coffee, and the cashier barely had time to address the issue of her walking away, so she entered the cup for free. Then comes the eye rolling and whatever facial expression she was giving at the moment. I'm not sure if that promo had an expiration date, if it didn't why not give her that cup? If it did, so what, give her the cup. It looked as though she was a regular and that she knew that's how it worked. So trust the customer build that relationship. They'll come back, and if she presents you with the same issue, take it and before giving her coffee check if the promo expired. Then you can educate her by saying, it's expired and this is a one time exception. She's happy and you've said your peace, chalk it up with management, I'm sure they aren't going to cry over a tall cup of blonde...

What can I say, great tasting coffee for a quick fix at a quick serving time....it can get filled a lot of times with hipsters writing screen plays or something and using up the wifi, but it's also a great location to meet up with friends and just chill.

I have to give this location a BIG two thumbs up! I came in last night to get a cup of coffee. They only had their Pike Place (their standard drip coffee which I don't really care for). Because they were close to closing, they had no dark roast coffee, but because I had asked what their dark brew for the day was, they were willing to do a hand drip for me. How awesome is that? Well, they actually decided on brewing another batch for us. Two thumbs up for the friendly and helpful baristas in this location!

Great staff. Clean store. Quick service. WiFi is UNIMAGINABLY slow. Might as well not exist. Coffee is good and the tea is great but in general, food at Starbucks sucks and that is the case here as well. Seriously though if you're coming here in hopes of doing some work on your laptop or tablet through WiFi, forget it.

I am a avid Starbucks customer and frequent the Lake location at least once a day probably twice. I happened to be running errands in that area and decided to stop by this Starbucks for a quick iced latte. Big Mistake! First off I walked into the store and it was filthy, the floors were dirty, the bathroom was disgusting and looks like the staff hadn't replaced any toilette paper, seat covers or paper towels for days. The staff were extremely obnoxious, pushing cake pops on customers for Valentines day. The cashier girl that rang me up never mentioned that she was through with he transaction, so I stood there and asked her are we finished and she gave me a smart ass answer "Yeah we was done a long time ago, your all standing there still ahahah". I have never seen Starbucks staff this rude and condescending. I have always valued the Starbucks customer service and I value their superior service, but this establishment fell short in so many ways. To put it bluntly this was the most ghetto Starbucks I have ever been to, it looked like a Starbucks I would expect to be found in a terrible neighborhood, not in Pasadena. I am not sure if the fact that it caters to college students allows for this type of environment and it is somehow deemed acceptable, but I will never visit this location again, even if you paid me.

The tables can get a bit dirty. There are always flies going around. Great for when I need my iced tea after classes. What I don't like: the wifi is pretty bad at this location. Don't even try using it on your phone, just..don't. What I like: the baristas are always friendly and willing to listen to any requests. OH! bathroom code is 11223. when students come after classes, they come in hordes so it gets suuuuper busy. When they're gone though, it becomes quite peaceful.

  • Kenneth S.

Plus one star because they fixed a problem I noted in my earlier review: they no longer give you drinks at one end of the bar and make you elbow your way to the other end for the warmed-up baked goods. Everything comes out at the barista side. Much better! But, minus one star for their bizarre new policy of filling their pastry case with "samples" that stay in there even when items are sold out. So, you can never tell what they actually have. Ordering becomes a guessing game of what happens to be available, especially in the afternoon. A couple of symapthetic baristas have noted that this was imposed on them by management and they don't like it, either. They really need to back off this weird practice.

  • Tony V.

I've been to this Starbucks many times, and the times I've ordered the ice tea lemonade, they always forget to add the lemonade into the drink, so all I taste is the tea... The Baristas were rushing and cutting some steps in making their drinks. They either need more employee or better baristas. I'm never ordering a ice tea lemonade from there again, they always forget to add the lemonade when I order it. Is it just me or has other people experience this? Now I have a disappointing drink, that I need to keep awake.

This place has decent customer service. But, the store is small. Since it's close to the Pasadena City College, the place gets crowded very quickly & easily.

Starbucks has consistency, it's the kind of place that doesn't change... I like that generic personalized attitude at a coffee shop. I've been to this location twice and I find that I miss that perky almost fake starbucks jargon. Fortunately I like Starbucks enough to find another favorite location. I want to make clear their product is consistent (I'm happy with it), however, I totally dislike the general attitude of this specific location.

    (1)
  • Bear C.

Like the environment. Have been in pcc for 3 years. Most staff here and quite rude and unfriendly. Some of them have shown rude and unwelcoming attitude when you ask for refills on drink.

  • James L.

This is a grab-and-go Starbucks. Most people who come here know this. When it comes to grabbing an espresso and continuing on with your day, this Starbucks is good. Very good. The service is quick and friendly. The coffee is always what Starbucks coffee is. It is nearby Paseo Mall and 24 Hour Fitness, which makes it an ideal spot to get a caffeine fix after an afternoon of shopping or a workout. The employees are the Starbucks standard, which I mean as a compliment because the Starbucks standard is professional, friendly and prompt. Bravo!

  • Samuel V.

Waiting ten minutes to pay six dollars for a coffee that is not even good, is not worth it. I'm Spanish and I like strong coffee; they serve mostly milk and water in a large cup. Furthermore the wifi is terrible! The only good thing is the staff; they're nice, polite and handsome.

  • Christian M.

There's a lot of customers coming in all the time and they manage to always satisfy! The staff is very friendly, they work hard and I feel comfortable to be in this atmosphere. The outdoor seating if convenient for me to study at because I like to be outdoors when I get into my study mode. Even though it's right across the street from a college and gets packed all the time, the people inside always manage to make me happy and help me with my order. They put in the extra effort to take care of me and treat me well. Besides from the overwhelming amount of people spilling in, they are able to get everyone's orders right and get it to them in a speedy manner. Definitely one of my favorite study spots!

Went in today on a Friday morning. There was a somewhat short line and it wasn't going by as quickly as it should've been. Cashier was a bit distracted when I got to the front. I ordered a Hot White Chocolate Mocha and it didn't take long. However, they gave it to me cold (how does that happen?) and I had to take it back. They were quick to give me a new, bigger one and the Barista who fixed it was sweet and convinced me to get Whipped Cream. Happy with the outcome!

  • Hanna L.

They tend to get your drinks wrong a lot. I understand because the place is usually packed but it gets really annoying after a while. Avoid coming during lunch time. It's going to take forever to order and get your drink.

A decently spacious Starbucks in close proximity to PCC. What else can I say?

    (3)
  • Jake Bryan C.

You can't really give a rating based on food/drinks because they're all the same at all Starbucks. So my rating is based solely on customer service and cleanliness of the store. It was not busy during the time I went, so the store should be clean. But it wasn't... Napkins on the ground, specks of sugar on the floor, tables had coffee stains. The reason why it wasn't clean is because the employees were busy talking to each other behind the counter about clubbing. Can you say unprofessional? It seemed like they do not value customer service because as I was ordering, the cashier was having a conversation with the barista. I had to repeat my order, because he was not listening.

    (1)
  • Esteve M.

What horrible service at this location. I was the only person in line. 5 workers behind the counter talking laughing, whispering, but not taking my order. One guy was working. The rest just goofing off and not caring about the customers. I ordered the Venti Dark Roast...They were brewing the Komodo Dragon roast, one of my favorites. However, the coffee is so weak, it has no kick or flavor. Taste more like hot water. I also ordered the ham and cheeses croissant. They heated it up but the center of the croissant was still ice cold! and it was very salty. Also, they didn't give me my receipt so that I would return this afternoon for the $2 special. I think STARBUCKs is too large to be consistent! WHERE IS PEET'S??!

    (1)
  • Nubar K.

Employees here are great! I love the fact that they are always upbeat and smiling even though they have to deal with the college students all day. Never had an issue with my drink or food here ! No matter what time of the day you come to this Starbucks there is always a good atmosphere.

Hubby and I went there for the BOGO V-Day Special. We ordered two grande ice lattes and a kid special for our kid. They got one of our orders wrong and our coffee tasted so watered down. It literally was disgusting and I'm utterly disappointed. Surely they haven't decide to share the espresso shots needed for one drink between the two we ordered?!?! I've way better Starbucks coffee! Needless to say, this will be our last visit to this location.

This is the worst Starbucks location i've ever been to. I was here 2 weeks ago and ordered a breakfast sandwich. I waited about 5 minutes and when I finally asked only then did they place it in the oven. It wasnt even that busy. The workers were just too busy chit chatting. By the time I got in the car and drove away I noticed my sandwich was burned. Strike 1... Today I went in for 2 drinks and after waiting in line they refused to help me because they couldnt break a $100. I was told I could go next door and make change at the bank. Which wasnt even open. Strike 2. I dont think i'll go back for strike 3.

    (1)
  • Bernard V.

Big mistake to have a coffee here... staff does not listen and the coffee is the worst. I had to repeat my order three times and they still got it wrong! The only positive thing I can say about this place is that it is located in the most spectacular new supermarket you can imagine.....VONS. McBucks really should rethink their strategy....from a pioneer in the higher quality coffee arena they have now become a fast drink common place. The uniqueness has long disappeared and the quality sucks. Location is the only thing that keeps them floating in general. There is NO SB WiFi at this location! Parking is not a problem

Let me start off by saying I am a Starbucks Junky! I go there practically every morning and I go every weekend and sometimes during the week to study and I always get a drink and food item. I've been to several starbucks, I also travel all through LA County and am regulars at many locatiions (i.e pasadena, south gate, downey, long beach, beverly hills, west ho, etc) But this location is the worst by far. Maybe 2/10 times I get great customer service but most of the times, they aren't nice people. Point of a customer service job is to give the customer best service there is. They've messed my drink up a couple times but they make it MY fault. wat the hell kind of service is that?? For example, one time I asked for a dopio over ice but they gave it to me hot and I explained to the barista that I wanted it iced and if he can just give me a cup with ice to fix the drink rather than make them re-do it. What does he say to me? "you need to tell the cashier that when you order or else next time we charge you a fee for another cup" wtf??? YOU messed up my drink not me. I like to give people and places second chances, and i've given them PLENTY. and the wifi always has troublesooting there. 3/10 times it's worked for me.

Love studying here, hahaa this is where I finished a lot of my college apps. There's a nice big semi-table thing against the windows with outlets right underneath. Favorite drinks: Caramel Brulee frappaccino, black tea with strawberry flavoring, & Chai Latte. The Caramel Brulee will stay till about the end of this month (holiday special.)

I do not like this Starbucks it is always crowded due to the Pasadena College across the street of it there are also very few limited seats and it is very small inside. They have tables and seats outside on the Colorado street but it's noisy due to the cars and traffic going by and it's a very busy street., the service is just ok.

The male cashier was so freakin rude, I think he doesn't like asian, he was very condescending, he looks hippie lookin...not what I expect from Starbucks...

This is a Starbucks. They have a big table with outlets which is nice because I believe it is frequently visited by students. Parking isn't the best. They are participating in the Boulange pastries.

Parking -- I've been coming here for almost 2 years & never once parked in their lot in the back. That seems odd, right? Well, there's a Burger King right across this Starbucks & after devouring a burger.. or 2.. maybe 3, I like to walk it off. Venti caramel macchiato ($4.00) in the winter. Venti caramel frappucino ($4.30) in the summer. Venti passion iced tea ($2.10) w/ 10 pumps of classic whenever! Note -- Was anybody aware they have a rewards program? I JUST recently found out :( Free drink on your birthday! Free refills on coffee! Free wi-fi (2 hours)! I need to sign myself up for this! Here's the link if anybody's interested, who doesn't already know about it: starbucks.com/card/rewar…

Talk about a new year look! I came back here after a month of Starbucks hiatus to pleasantly find that this place has become newly remodeled. The new look: 1) More bar height seating, all looking out the window into the Colorado street. 2) More outlets! means more laptop plugging convenience 3) More seats. I counted them...34 seats +/- 1. The new Starbucks layout is great for individuals who just want to find a place to find coffee and a free wifi spot. Because of the new bar height seating, there's less tables for twos, which may be bad for some, but good for those who don't like it when one person takes up a big table for themself. I like this new efficient look. Excellent job Starbucks. Good improvement.

This Starbucks probably has the friendliest staff of all Starbucks I've been to. And my drink always comes out perfectly. Super cool.

This Starbucks has gotten my order wrong twice in the past week. The other night I ordered a peppermint hot chocolate. I got a peppermint mocha, even though they wrote "PHC" on the cup and the guy who made my drink was the same guy as the one who took my order. Whoops. Today I ordered a green tea frappuccino. The guy specifically asked me if I wanted whipped cream, and I said yes. They then gave me a frappuccino without whipped cream. In all fairness, the frappuccino was excellent, and this time there was nothing written on the cup. I personally don't mind too much when baristas get my order wrong, but twice in a week is a bit much. Although I wish the baristas would be more careful, I do like this location because of its ample study space. If you want a better location, go to the one at 454 North Fair Oaks Ave, they close an hour later and you can park there for more than an hour. The one on Lake and California is also a great place for college students looking to study.

  • Lorrie M.

One of the busiest Starbucks in this area even though there's one literally down the same street a few blocks. Service is ok and suffers a little as a result of it but they do tend to stock a ton more pastries and more "stuff" in general since they know they have high volume. For the most part it's located right next to the bookstore and you can usually just grab a coffee and go to browse some magazines which is sometimes better than the coffee inside the bookstore because there are less places to sit.

  • Reina J.

I'm really disappointed!!! How could you not know it has coffee grounds in it? What if I met the man of my dreams or had the interview of a lifetime...AND had grounds in my teeth? Your jerks....I will be back for my cup!

I can't believe I'm writing a Yelp review for a Starbucks location. But really, this is probably my favorite Starbucks in the vicinity of the San Gabriel Valley. I always stop by here when I'm in the area, usually when I have to drop off my car for some all-day maintenance on weekends. I will literally walk from Sierra Madre/Colorado to this Starbucks and chill here for a few hours in the morning before walking to the Shops on Lake or Old Town Pasadena. And then I'll stop by this place again in the afternoon on my way back to the mechanic's and redeem my treat receipt for a post-2 p.m. $2 cold grande drink. Yum! I love that this location is huge with tons of seating, tables, and outlets, given that it's a prime location for Pasadena City College students to come and study. I have received THE BEST customer service from SB employees here. As other reviewers have noted, they have an incredibly efficient system of one person starting a drink order while another person rings up the order. I have only had my drink messed up once out of the 20-30 times I've been here (trust me, I have some pretty complicated drink orders!), and the staff were so gracious about remaking it for me. Everyone is super friendly and full of energy, and they actually seem genuinely happy to be working behind the counter, unlike the staff I've seen at other SB locations. Get here early to claim your seat if you plan on staying here for a few hours, although I'll add that it's a lot less congested when PCC isn't in session. I think I'm going to nurse another cup of coffee and perhaps a muffin before I head off to browse the Shops on Lake. Does this mean I'm sitting at this Starbucks right now, writing this review?? Um... no comment. ;) (Edited ten minutes later: The customer next to me just sneezed and there was a chorus of "bless you!"s from all the staff behind the counter. Seriously, how great is this place?!)

Service: Pleasant enough. There are two cashiers working, especially at peak hours, so orders can be made fairly quickly. The shop is spacious enough, and there's plenty of seating (counters, tables, outdoor seats, etc.) for people looking to study. But, it does tend to get crowded, because of its proximity to PCC. Order: Just about the only drink I ever order at Starbucks is a tall brewed coffee, so I can't speak for most of those frothy diabetes-inducing drinks everyone else gets. Starbucks coffee has a pretty uniform taste, imo, and I can't really tell the different blends apart (their signature blend tastes just as burnt as their Anniversary blend). But honestly, who could care less that early in the morning? I did have a Java Chip Frappuccino once. The chocolate bits were gloriously good, but the drink overall was way too sweet for my tastebuds. Verdict: Convenient and relatively speedy, but beware of a line at the cashier's.

  • Kristin C.

This is the only SB location that I've found with so much seating that caters to students studying, which probably has much to do with the fact that it's right across the street from PCC. There's a long "island" strip to the right when you first enter, which has the outlets and in the front of the store there are bar stools and stretched table facing the window. Seating also is provided with regular tables and seats indoors and outdoors. This SB can get pretty crowded, so if you intend on working on a project as a group you may want to get there early to find a spot. However, if you are alone, your chances are good. Just one thing: make sure your subject matter isn't too revealing... staring at certain exposed body parts out in the open may give you weird looks outside of school. Trust me, I know. Parking is available and located in the back. It is also shared with Bank of America. I personally haven't parked here before because I'm walking from either PCC or Burgerking. The staff, they're really friendly and efficiently taking orders. Since this is a busy location, they have a system down where 1 person takes orders in advance and gets your drink ready and another person charges you. Sure, occasionally you'll get your mix ups, but they work to please you whether that be remaking your drink or getting you a different one. Definitely one of the better SB's I've been to.

Baristas can be rushy sometimes when there aren't even that many people in the store. Drinks are authentic. They keep the store clean all the time. Very hard to find a seat though since it's a street across PCC campus. Not a very good place to study.

This starbucks has definitely turned into a study hall. It's directly across from Pasadena City College and just crammed with students studying throughout all times of the day. It gets pretty busy as well, so if you're looking for a nice Starbucks to sit down and chat or to relax, this is NOT the location to go to. The parking lot is also very small. When it gets busy, it's hard to find parking so you'll be forced to find street parking. This starbucks location is really ideal for just getting coffee to go!

I've been to quite a few Starbucks shops, and this one is one of the better ones I've been to. Like all Starbucks, there's a pleasant aroma of coffee that tickles your nose when you enter, the staff is friendly and very efficient, and almost every time I go in there, I see the same people working, still with a smile on their faces and a cheerful, earnest greeting. Even when they're flooded with customers, they always get your order right, (although, because of said flood, it might take a few more minutes to get your drink). The atmosphere is also fairly good. Some of the time. My only gripes about this Starbucks (which are the cause of the three-star rating) are that: 1) It's right next to Pasadena City College, right across the intersection of Colorado Blvd and Bonnie Ave, so PCC students tend to inundate the place, and as a result, it's almost always packed. So if you're running late for work or something and looking for a quick in-and-out caffeine fix, I suggest going to the Starbucks going north along Hill across from Tommy's. A little more travel, but (somewhat) less wait. 2) Because of the amount of students there (who often take up all the inside AND outside tables, often with only one or two to a table) it is not a good place to be if you want a calmer atmosphere where you can get away from stress and surf the Internet with the free wifi offered. Much of the time, unless you are very aggressive and lurk in the corners waiting for people to leave, you will often be unable to find a seat. So while it may be a good place for single or duo parties to sit down and enjoy their drinks, it is not a good place for, say, a small business meeting or large groups of people. 3) Parking. This Starbucks is on the corner of Colorado and Bonnie, and shares a building with a Bank of America (toward the rear and closer to the parking lot). To get to the parking lot, you have to turn north on Bonnie, and turn right into the parking lot, which is, at least in my opinion, inadequate to support the number of businesses on the streetfront. Overall, this is one Starbucks that, while good for the student clientele it receives, may not be ideal for the individual who is late for work.

great location for PCC student watching. This location also gets some of the crazies that want to use the restroom.

Okay, for one this one of the busiest Starbucks in Pasadena and if people can't handle the foot traffic there's another SB a few blocks away. For the amount of people that come through those doors, the employees do a wonderful job of attending everyone as soon as they can, in fact - one employee takes the order gets it ready while the other charges you - presto! faster service. They probably have the most outlets and seating than many a SB in the Pasadena area, probably due to the PCC (Pasadena City College) students who come in n' out the doors at all hours of the day, which is great if you want to pop open your laptop or just sit and enjoy your latte. While sometimes the occasional slip up occurs, like giving you the wrong coffee, or maybe not giving you one at all - they really do a good job of making your coffee for you with smiles on their faces. :] And you have to give them some credit, they deal with grumpy early morning customers, suits in a hurry & the sleep deprived anxiety ridden souls of the PCC campus.

So I just met this really intelligent and beautiful woman named Lisa here, I often frequent this starbucks around the same time so im really hoping she does too so I could talk to her again! Or maybe she'll read this, and if so you can find me here or at the cal tech pond! :)

This review is for the service, because the food and drinks are standard Starbucks (personally, I'm usually a Jones, Handsome, or Stumptown girl). And this is actually from a year ago, but I was thinking about kindnesses, and thought about the the nice crew at this Starbucks. My kids like to customize their drinks, which can be pretty involved, and the crew took it in good-humored stride. A bit later, my 4-year-old son dropped his drink, and began to cry. He had already drunk about half of it. The Starbucks crew immediately sympathized, and offered a replacement. The look on my son's face, of gratitude and relief and hooray-more-treat!, warmed my heart. Thanks!

The staff here is extremely friendly. Even in a couple unfavorable situations, the staff somehow pulls through for a positive experience. The place is clean, the music is good, etc. The only con about this place is that it's fairly crowded by students on weekday afternoons since it's right across the street from a college. Otherwise, this Starbucks is fantastic. Drinks are good, staff are excellent, the place is clean. There's just nothing bad about this place.

Every time I order a Cappuccino, I always ended up something like a latte. Do they not know how to make a proper Cappuccino? Why do I still come here? I don't know, maybe because I am tired of walking like a zombie around school and decided I should get something to smack my face. Good Job Starbucks, because you couldn't even get a simple green tea lemonade right! It was sour, not even sweet, and no flavor of their tea even though their green tea doesn't even taste like green tea. So I felt like I just paid 2 something on sour water with food coloring. They are nice though. But unfortunately, Starbucks is going downhill and it feels like they are being careless with their guidelines. At least that's how it has been every time I visit a starbucks.. and I have been going 2+ times a week lately. EFF!

U want good service and a friendly environment? Come to this Starbucks! The baristas are always friendly. The place is crowded but that's due to all the students.

This is one of the best Starbucks I've ever visited. I worked at a couple other stores for two years and now every time I walk into a Starbucks, I hate to admit that I am looking for everything that they're doing wrong because I know the Starbucks standards so well. I couldn't find one thing wrong here! The baristas were all really nice and made conversation that didn't seem forced or fake. They also seemed to be enjoying themselves and genuinely liked talking about some of the newer items on the menu. And big points for this--their pastry case was still well-stocked towards the end of the day, and I was able to buy the one thing I had been looking for at other stores before finally finding it at this one. The biggest plus of this store is that it really feels like a neighborhood coffee shop...moreso than the other 5 or so Starbucks I've been to in the Pasadena/Altadena area. It's big and spacious and has a good mix of comfortable reading chairs and work areas. A good number of people were working on laptops so I'm pretty sure they have a decent number of wall outlets. There was also a study group working when I visited, so it seems like a good spot for PCC & Fuller students since they're so close. I'll definitely be visiting this store again soon. If you love Starbucks I recommend coming here, and if you love the indie coffee shops and find yourself with a Starbucks gift card, come to this one!

This store is located in what was an old bank, but the interior is fully remodeled so you'd never know. They always seems to sell out of pastries/food here.... probably because they get a lot of foot traffic from PCC students. But you'd think with the expected volume of customers that they would be prepared. I've seen a lot of mix ups on orders when I have been here, and they are not always the best on customer service. Sometimes some baristas are on point and trying to compensate for others who are less than stellar. One hour parking is in the neighborhood and there is also in the back (with a lot attendant watching to make sure only patrons use it). This location can get noisy/crowded so it may not be the best place to study

This starbucks has been remodeled - love it. Lots of seating inside and outside. Friendly employees and this place is extra clean. It just gets super packed during the day because of all the PCC students. Parking can be hectic too at times.

This is a great Starbucks location I've infrequented over the last few years. It's directly across the street from the northeastern corner of Pasadena Community College and is near a number of fast food restaurants (Panda Express and Burger King come to mind). Plus, this location stays open all night on New Year's Eve to offer coffee and other hot drinks to the poor souls waiting for the Rose Parade to come by on Colorado. It's a nice location, with a fair amount of parking in the back and a good sized seating area both inside and out. There are a ton of Starbucks in the immediate area, but this is the only one I really know, and it has served me well when I stop by it. This last time was no exception.

Ok, seriously... I don't think I've ever had such a bad experience at a starbucks... I got there at 8 am The cashier with the red bright lipstick made me wait in line for 5 minutes either because it was half empty or because she was gossiping. I made it very clear I was ready to order twice and completly ignore me, finally she notice there was a big line behind me and quickly wanted to take my order. I order a grande salted caramel mocha with wc and a tall double chocolate chip with wc. She literally had to ask me 3 times the size I wanted.. Really.. I mean I know is early, but come on...then I told her I wasnt done ordering. I order bananna bread and plain begail and for that she made me wait another 5 minutes while she took someone elses order and on top of that my drink was still missing the wc. she Didnt apologize or anything. and I ended up leaving at 8:20 am. 20 minutes for an order?? wow I dont mind waiting but today i had a proble. Next time iam heading to carls jr and get coffee there, at least I know they'll greet me with a smile not a snobby attitude. Next time dont go parting and come to work half wasted. at least be responsible and dont share your personal stories out lound cause simply not alot of us care.

I have gone to this Starbucks a few times already and tonight there were just two people (including me) in the store and I still had to wait for someone to take my order. Please someone fire these people and find a group of people who actually likes to work and does a good job. The people who gave this place a good review are obviously employees or on crack because I have NEVER gotten Starbucks level service from this group. This place gives Starbucks a bad name.

This isn't the best Starbucks but it is by far the busiest I have been too. Employees seem to prefer talking about sports or American Idol more than getting the drink orders right. I always get a Grande iced coffee with sugar-free vanilla in a venti cup for extra room. They've only got it right once so far out of dozens of visits and that one was a supervisor I believe. Nice place none-the-less which is why I still visit.

I've been to a lot of Starbucks because of school. I hate giving places a bad rating but if it wasn't for the community college being right across the street this one would be closed by now. PROS 1. Excellent seating and atmosphere. Except for when there is a big student rush there is usually enough spaces to find a seat somewhere. 2. Clean - The bathrooms are pretty clean even during the rush periods, 3. Parking - For Pasadena this place has pretty good parking.. CONS 1. Uncaring staff - For a regular business they are OK for a regular business. But Starbucks prides itself on its customer service and paying 4 bucks for a cup of coffee they could at least smile. Usually what I notice is that they take your order, take your money and wait for the next person. Sometimes they will say thank you but usually not. Like I said for any other business you would almost expect this type of service, but other Starbucks that I've gone to have tried to remember my name, my drink and says hi when I come in. This one you're lucky if they acknowledge you to take your order. Forget about when you walk in the door. 2. Poorly made drinks - It's usually 50/50 chance that you'll get what you order, the way you ordered it and it taste good. Maybe more like 60% chance of it being not right 40% right. I think the CONS far out weigh the PROS when paying so much for coffee. I really hope they get better managers in there to train their staff. I think the place is doing well only because of its proximity to the community college. If they actually were better trained the place would be doing much more business.

This place is not too great in my opinion. I'm a college student, and this place is in a good location, but the place gives bad service. The workers are pretty slow and constantly make my drinks wrong; Everything from a Mocha Frappucino, to a Green Tea Latte. Not to mention they find it more important to talk to each other rather than serve customers. Its happened quite a few times where I've come in and there will be two workers chatting away rather than serving anyone. I don't like this place much, but because of the location, I'm forced to come here.

More seating fellow yelpers doesn't mean a new day closer to improved service. For some reason, I feel like the people behind the counter rather have me serve coffee to myself and my friends. This psychology can only encourage the line to become longer with petty questions regarding earth, wind and fire. And the seating is only there to get people out of the way. Especially prudent during the monthly PCC antique extravaganza every first Sunday of the month. Parking is problematic, if nearly impossible to find, as most of the parking has been converted into handicap and employee parking.

Glacially slow employees. There were two employees and one customer ahead of me; Friday night 9:30 PM and ten minutes later I received my order. Sorry but that is five minutes too long.

I've been here when the rush hits and it ain't pretty. Students ordering frappuccino after frappuccino, on their cell phones while ordering, ordering for friends back at the table but folks still hand signalling their order over to the spokesperson, people asking a zillion questions like they've never even heard of this exotic beverage called coffee and the myriad ways it can be prepared... It can be crazy. But I am constantly impressed with the staff who are fast, efficient, friendly and are always working very hard. It is not their fault if they've called out your drink three times and you don't come get it. Pay attention! You know you ordered a drink and you know where it's going to come up... If you haven't been to a Starbucks before and this is challenging for you, look for all the people crowded around GETTING THEIR DRINKS. That's where yours will be, too. Anyways, kudos to the patient staff who always keep an insanely long line moving fast enough for me to get my caffeine fix and get to my 8am class on time, no matter how late I am running!

This isn't a great Starbucks, but it's above average, especially as far as atmosphere. It does feel more like a neighborhood shop than some others -- and the baristas are friendly. There isn't as much traffic as you would think, being on such a busy block with tons of passers-by. Which is fine by me!
