I freaking love this place this is the only Hawaiian barbecue I eat. L&L's aint got nothing on this place.

the food was good but the price I paid made me feel ehh. about the food. I can't believe I spent 40 bucks at this "fast food" place. my bf myself and my 8 yr old. for this price I expected some table service like at Applebee's or something like that., I enjoyed the food but definitely can't come here on a budget yes LARGE portions and the mini meal is no mini meal. it's huge and I wasn't a fan of the mac salad because it was warm. I've never had warm mac salad.

  • Harold L.

It's a pretty good value. I ordered the Lemon Chicken plate (grilled WHITE MEAT) served over a bed of cooked cabbage that includes rice and macaroni salad. It was 3 generous pieces of chicken breast, not the deep fried bricks like you get in fast food. My chicken was slightly overcooked for the way I like it, but overall pretty tasty. This place is a solid 3 and half stars. Will try this place again, as I think they are ok.

Wow!!!....the service at this place is horrible!! If you're lucky enough to be attended by the actual owner, good luck. He's extremely rude and impatient. I'm sorry but it's not my fault that we can't understand each other. Don't get frustrated so easily if you can't speak English or understand it well enough to be able to communicate with your customers beyond saying meal numbers and quoting total cost. I haven't even gotten my food yet but I'm extremely unhappy already. The only reason I didn't leave is because I have 3 hungry and grumpy kids with me who just want to eat already. Otherwise, I'd have gone elswhere. Definitely never coming back again, though.

I work 2 min. Away from this place. I seriously eat this at least once a week. #2 is my favorite. Chicken Katsu.

Sad to say this place has changed Alot since my last review. The garlic shrimp plate used to be a hit, now it's more of a flash fry tempura shrimp. Another change I noticed was the teriyaki marinade sauce they use now is terrible. Used to be my go to grind spot but now only when I'm desperate.

    (2)
  • Natalia V.

This place is seriously delicious! All their plates taste great. My personal favorite is the teriyaki chicken bowl. The prices are not bad at all for the portions they give you. It's literally more than enough.

Food: good flavor, wide variety (pork, chicken, seafood) Price: affordable (I'm a college student) Location: space too small, clean Service: friendly and quick This is like my 10th visit and counting!

  • Zoey M.

Two stars for trying, the place is super cold. The food is a no. The chicken was grey and to crispy to enjoy. The rest of the food was flavorless. My boyfriend got the spicy BBQ and it tasted like some kind of lipstick it was gross.

  • vannica s.

Other reviews were right about the portions. They aren't skimpy with their meat so I'll keep coming back for that reason alone. It's a plus that the chicken katsu I ordered was cooked perfectly and omg, I like the jalapeño honey chicken with the spicy sauce they include. The amount of spiciness and sweetness is just right for me. Also did not make a fuss about switching the side of macaroni salad to another lump of rice. Can't wait to eat it again. I adore hawiian food.

I was in Hilo last month so I was craving good Hawaiian BBQ.. This place hit the spot and then some. Wow! Try the seafood mix and Hawaiian fried rice. Small take out type place but indoor seating available. Very clean and modern space. Friendly service. Super fast. I give them 10 out 10, my guest number 1 said 8 of 10, guest 2, 9 out of 10. Worth the visit. You won't be disappointed.

  • Steven H.

This is actually my second time at this spot. The first time I ordered a spam loco moco and it was good. Gravy was a bit on the salty side but standard eggs spam and rice. Ma classic dish from my childhood. The next dish I ordered was the Hawaiian fried rice. This dish is surprisingly good! A little greasy but who the fuck cares?! The more calories and cholesterol the better the food would taste! However they did leave out the pineapple, but I didn't mind. I put sriracha on that shit and all was forgiven! Really good spot for lunch and a quick bite. Won't break the wallet either!

  • Judy S.

I always order from this place for dinner with my family. We always get the hawaiian fried rice. The serving is so huge! One of the orders can feed 2-3 people! I feel like I'm getting so much for what I'm paying. The food is also amazing! There are hawaiian places closer to me but I always drive here instead bc of the food. The employees are also very nice. Always greeting me in person and over the phone. This place is definitely my go to spot for hawaiian food.

  • Jerhome P.

I love their loco moco! The burger patty is just great! Portion size is good for the price too!

  • Stefany M.

Been coming here ever since they opened it. It's convenient for me because I like like three blocks away anyways the food is so good once you try it I always get the Hawaiian Fried Rice or the House special noodle. The rice comes with beef, pork, and a few shrimp also with pineapple and the noodle is basically the same just without the pineapple I recommend both!

  • Joel V.

Food is delicious and reasonably priced. Enough for leftovers. Teriyaki is awesome. Not much to say but I always come back.

Wanted to try Hawaiian food, but didn't want to go back to L&L again. As a result, my boyfriend and I decided to give Waikiki Hawaiian Grill a try. It was our first time eating there. My boyfriend ordered the CHICKEN KATSU adult meal (rice, macaroni salad, and dipping sauce included) and I ordered the GRILLED SPAM MOCO (rice, macaroni salad, and extra gravy on the side included). First of all, the food did take a while to be ready. We waited around 10-15 minutes, but at the same time, that might be a good thing since it might mean they cook it fresh to order. The service there was really nice and they told us not to worry and that they would bring the food to us (we were dining in). The CHICKEN KATSU was crispy to perfection. The chicken was so moist that when I bit into it, some juices dripped out and landed on the table. It went well with the sweet and tangy dipping sauce. As for the portioning, they give you A LOT of CHICKEN KATSU!!! I mean, that meal could definitely feed two people. The macaroni salad was also great, not too strong, but a mild, subtle flavor so that you won't easily get bored with it. As for the rice, I wish it was a little bit more soft and not so clumpy (had to really break it apart with my fork). Note: Underneath the CHICKEN KATSU was shredded up cabbage, just in case you wanted to balance out your meal with greens. As for the GRILLED SPAM MOCO, this was my first time eating a moco ever, and I must say, it wasn't so bad. I probably wouldn't order it again just because I'm a hardcore katsu fan (just wanted to try something different this time around). The egg yolk was great; when I cut it open, all the fresh, hot yolk oozed out. Mmmmm.... The only thing I didn't like about this meal was that the spam was still a little bit too salty (even though they used the 15% less sodium stock). Also, underneath the spam and eggs, there was more rice (which doesn't also include the scoop of rice as a side - so yea, you have A LOT of rice). Instead of rice on the bottom, I wish they had the shredded cabbage, just so I had a somewhat balanced meal. Other than that, I would go here again only if I was really, really hungry. I didn't see them offer a mini/small size, but that would have been preferable to me.

I've been coming here since they open.. The guy that played the ukulele is how they know me.. They even seen my two boys grow up! They are very friendly and it's always very clean.. The portion of food is always more bang for your bucks here.. Ever since they open I've never went back to L&L's in Cerritos..

    (5)
  • Shorty L.

I come here 2-3 times a week for noodles and BBQ mix. Plenty of food for the dollar Lots of meat in the fried rice.

    (5)
  • Allison H.

Very clean. You can watch them cooking your meal. I like that. Very friendly staff. Efficient. Food is very tasty. The pork fried rice is very good. I usually get the teriyaki chicken mini meal because it's more than enough foo. chicken is cooked just right. They give you a little container of teriyaki in the event you need more. The rice is nice and fluffy and sticky. The macaroni salad is very good. I've been coming here since their opening in 2010.

    (5)
  • Richie G.

I got the honey spicy chicken, it was NOT good! Tasted like some old dirty Chinese food. Flavor was just really off and was just some chicken with sauce thrown on. The spam musubi was alright though.

Happy 5th Anniversary! It's like it was only yesterday when I first walked into this Waikiki Hawaiian Grill back in 2009... but in reality it was yesterday, haha, but the only difference now is that the Hawaiian music no longer plays in the background like it was in the beginning... something to do with legal music licensing issues... but everything else is the same. The same menu favorites are still being cooked up fresh and served all day and they have some new menu items as well and many more satisfied customers. Hau`oli la Ho'omana'o!

  • Manny N.

I love this place because of the food katsu chicken is amazing its way better then ohono place and l&l

  • Stephanie T.

My boyfriend and I have been coming to this place for 2 years now and will continue to go! The food is absolutely delicious! And the costumer service is great! The BBQ mix is our favorite dish with a side of there crispy shrimp , Mmm we recommend this place for any Hawaiian BBQ loves! The prices are non expensive and they serve a great amount of food!

    (5)
  • Manny J.

Well I had their chicken katsu plate, kinda below average when it came to taste. Won't get that here ever again. Spam musubi was ok...pretty much average.

    (2)
  • Johnson L.

Got the BBQ chicken. The chicken was nice and tender and tasty. The macaroni salad was typical and tasty. The portion of meat was also generous... Too generous. And the workers are great. Service with a smile goes the extra mile.

    (5)
  • Christina D.

They are quick and very generous with their meat! Very good! Very friendly people. The owner comes out and chats with customers. Would eat here again! :)

  • Amanda D.

This place is great! Highly recommend to anyone who wants some very juicy and flavorful Hawaiian dishes. There is a good amount of things to try and I definitely recommend the Loco Moco and the Chicken Katsu. We have been back a few times and will continue to do so. Great service and quality.

    (4)
  • L L.

This place is excellent! The price is decent for the amount of food you get! The short cashier in the front is always nice and helpful! I always come here when I want good clean Hawaiian BBQ! Good job Waikiki!!!

    (5)
  • Elaine O.

Positive is the young lady has nice service with a smile. Keep it up in the yellow shirt. Bad called to complain about side order ofmeat that what was full of oil and disguised with cabbage to appear full. Of course he denied it. I'm afraid this rest is doing to well because there quality of food is going bad being cheap. Using old cooking oil and cheating customers:(

    (2)
  • Rosie S.

yummy! delicious, food loved it here the man is nice and friendly that works there his wife is too never met someone so caring and friendly there food is Mmmm like you have no idea the fried fish I had there I forget what it's called

    (5)
  • Joy G.

The food is the standard Hawaiian fare... bbq, laulau, rice, mac salad, katsu, etc. Very good portions, as most hawaiian places are. I got the BBQ Mix which, for me, works for 3 meals. It is the staff here that is awesome. Very friendly. Very accomodating. I will definitely be back. I'll prob dine in...atmosphere is nice and its within a shopping plaza.

  • Dahlenie B.

My boyfriend & I were looking for a good place that served loco mocos. We came across this gem through yelp of course. When we got there the staff was very friendly but also busy. It was around lunch time. We both ordered loco mocos with over medium eggs. The only negative part was they didn't understand me when I asked for it over medium. I had to explain it to them which is no big deal. Anyway, the food was a large amount! It was very affordable for a large portion. I was able to save some for later. The gravy was so yummy & everything tasted so delicious! I haven't really explored their menu much but this place is definitely worth the try for their loco mocos! Delicious!!

    (4)
  • Elsie S.

Great service...yummy food we had the Maui pineapple chicken and it was amazing. We will be back.

    (5)
  • Yiling L.

House special noodles are the best. It's a big order, be prepared to share. I normally order house special noodles and hawaiian bbq mix to feed 2 adults and 3 kids. Very tasty!!

    (5)
  • Michelle C.

I was introduced to this place by a friend and let me say...BOMB! My favorite is the Hawaiian fried rice. All their food is great. And the employees here are always nice :)

    (5)
  • Linda L.

This place is absolutely horrible! The food is disgusting and the owner has an ugly attitude. Stay away and take your business somewhere else.

    (1)
  • Christoph M.

Very pleasant little place. Service is awesome and friendly I recommend to anyone who loves yummy. Cooked perfect tastes just like you want it to ... an excellent lunch indeed

    (5)
  • Mychal L.

Love the chicken katsu ....also tried the potstickers this time and they were really good in flavor only wish maybe they left them a bit crispier. Overall good stuff though.

    (4)
  • Jim T.

SOOOOO Yummy! I've liked all the food I've ordered here. I recommend calling ahead so you don't have to wait at the restaurant if you're taking it to go. At least waiting for your food reassures you that they make the food to order. Quality is miles above any other Hawaiian food in the area!

    (5)
  • Dee W.

Almost forgot how YUMTASTIC the Garlic Shrimp is.........glad I decided to remind myself tonight!!!!

    (5)
  • Chris C.

Why even call your self Waikiki Hawaii food??? It should've been called Kung Pao chinese take out restaurant. I got the garlic shrimp (hoping it taste like Giovanni's shrimp truck in Waikiki) and it to was fried shrimp with garlic and green onion.

    (1)
  • Steve G.

I love this place, the house special of noodles is the best! The only thing that I dnt like much is that they don't always attend you with a smile. But besides that everything is great

    (4)
  • Nidiia D.

I love this place the food is great.

    (5)
  • Steph Q.

Pretty good! tried this place with my "co-worker" and we were amazed by the portions! My friend ordered the chicken katsu and bbq chicken combo and they literally pile on the meat with a green lettuce salad and a side of rice and macaroni salad! (($8-9) I don't eat as much and got the mini chicken katsu! ($6) and I ate it for two meals actually. The lettuce salad doesn't have a dressing but the katsu sauce has vinegar and I liked it so much I practically used it as a dressing or you can eat the lettuce with the macaroni simultaneously and it works as a mayonnaise like dressing. I liked it overall. Its a good place with huge portions and the service was good. Someone even brought the order to our table. Its a very clean and nice place to dine in or togo, my only regret is I forgot to take a menu and put it up on yelp! b/c when I looked at the reviews I wanted to know what the menu looked like so you can order ahead of time before your lunch break!

    (4)
  • Steve K.

I'm a big guy and I love it when I get a lotta food. I'm proud to say that wakiki packed so much food that I couldn't finish it. The lady at the counter was very nice and told me to wait 5 mins for the chicken katsu since it's made to order. I got home and devoured the katsu and it was light crispy and juicy a fat man's wet dream. I would definitely recommend this place to chicken katsu lovers like me and forget about L&L this place kicks it in the nuts.

    (4)
  • Julian G.

I highly recommend the chicken Katsu. The chicken itself and the sauce they provide with it are a little too good. The portions are huge for the money, and somehow the chicken tastes even better the next day. One of my co-workers first introduced me to this place, and it has been on my list of regular spots ever since. If you're in the area and like the typical Hawaiian fare, this place should probably be on your list of places to hit if it isn't already. I would give this place 5 stars, but I have to be fair, as I have only had 2 items on their menu. As I alluded to above, the portions are large, and one order may feed 2 people. This is definitely one of my favorites in the area.

    (4)
  • Lisa Z.

My DH introduced me to the house special noodles from this place... OMG so good. Chow mein style noodles with chicken, beef and shrimp - also the portion is SO big at least 2 people can eat well on this thing and it's delish. Chicken katsu also great from here and good macaroni salad, although it's heavy on the mayo. Only downside is they water down their Sriracha sauce. (Why? Oh the travesty...) I have my own Sriracha at home, though (necessity), and the prices are so low to share, I don't care.

    (4)
  • Mary W.

Although the chicken can be quite greasy at times, I give it to them for service, which is lightning fast and courteous, and for value. For around seven bucks you have the equivalent of two meals almost. Me likey (when I'm not countin' calories).

    (4)
  • Andrea P.

I've been coming here since last year and NEVER have had a bad experience. I usually order a Seafood mix or a BBQ mix plate and share with my mom. It's enough food to feed 2 people for less then $13. The meat is always moist and delicious and the sauces that they use are so flavorful. It's local and you can't beat the price. Highly recommended you check it out!

    (5)
  • Ally F.

The food was OKAY. After reading the reviews I dragged my husband and son for the short drive to check it out. I was born and raised in Hawaii so I'm always down to check out Hawaiian eateries in the hopes of finding an equivalent to Zippys, but after 10 years, I still can't admit that nothing can beat Zippys. And the search will go on. Anyhow, I ordered the grilled spam moco. Had a funny taste to it. Not sure I'd order that again. The husband had kalbi. He said Ono's did it better. My son had the kid size katsu and he ate just about half of his plate then claimed he was done, which is strange because my 7 year old has a man size appetite. The mac salad was drowning in mayo...hawaiian style mac salad SHOULD be made with a generous amount of mayo, but this one went overboard with it. Unless I find myself driving around in Paramount and craving some island food, I doubt I'll come here again. I gave three stars because it was just average. Average menu. Average taste. There wasn't really anything that made this place stand out.

    (3)
  • Lisa S.

Not as good as L&L, contrary to other reviews. Not even as good as Ono's Hawaiian. We tried the mix bbq plate, the chicken katsu, and some spam musubi. The katsu was super hot, which made it good, but the actual chicken part was a small serving. The short ribs and the bbq beef weren't too bad, but I found the bbq chicken to be dry and lacking in flavor. The musubi was soft and unappetizing. When we were ordering, I asked for all rice for the first combo, since I'm not a fan of macaroni salad. She gave me irritated look and asked if I wanted no cabbage either. No one has ever asked me this...and I believe I said, all rice and no macaroni salad. Anyway, after hashing this out a couple of times, I also asked the same for the katsu plate, and she proceeded to ask me the same question. No lettuce? Omg. She was seriously giving attitude, and it was so ridiculous. What is hard to understand about "no macaroni salad"??? All in all, the food is alright, and since it doesn't have much competition in the area, it's an okay stop if you're craving Hawaiian in Paramount and don't know where to go.

    (3)
  • Margaret L.

Great prices and big portions. I had the Kalbi short ribs. But... It was alot of fat :'[ next time I'll try something else.

  • Dustin B.

They have quickly become my favorite Hawaiian place. My favorite thing on the menu is the Mahi Mahi which is beyond awesome. They are quick, friendly and very very tasty.

    (4)
  • Rich M.

Quality of food was outstanding. Can't go wrong with BBQ combo. Friendly staff!!!

    (5)
  • Robert R.

I really just don't enjoy Hawaiian food especially such cheaply made food. Would never go here again.

    (2)
  • Susan G.

Awesome food. Came here because of the good reviews. The staff here is so friendly will definitely come again. Lots of food for the price looks like leftovers for work.

    (5)
  • April C.

chow-mein style noodles, forget what its called, oh well... comes with shrimp, beef, and chicken 3 people can def eat off the tray, runs you about $9 if you dont know what to eat one day try this place out im sure you wont be let down

    (4)
  • I N.

We thought we should try somewhere else besides Ono.. This place isn't too far from where I work. So we thought we'd give it a shot via Yelp reviews. We had the Spam moco and the Seafood mix. Portions were good. Quality of food quite good. But there wasn't anything special about it. The restaurant was stuffy! No AC or a fan on...

    (3)
  • P G.

Good-tasting, inexpensive, food; friendly service. If you don't want giant portions, order the 'mini' version, it's still fills you up, and I still had a little left over.

    (4)
  • Angela D.

This is my new lunch spot for sure, this week I've had Hawaiian food 3 days in a row and I'm even thinking about making it 4 in a row tomorrow. I've been craving a new dish not on the menu, it's house special noodles, pretty much chow mein style with thick noodles and bbq chicken, shrimp, bbq beef, egg, onions & cabbage. I top it off with some sriricha & chili oil, man that hits the spot. They give so much food, 2-3 people can eat the noodles and be full, I'm not even kidding. The staff is very friendly and they know me by name already, they even recognize my voice when I call in orders, I love it! Try them out, you will love them too.

    (5)
  • Sam R.

Very friendly staff! Love the food. The volcano chicken is bomb! Pretty much can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The place is a little small but there is plenty of seating outside.

    (5)
  • Larry M.

My all time favourite place to grub for lunch and dinner. The workers are definitely friendly and they make you feel at home. I highly recommend this spot if you love a quick hawaiian plate fix.

    (5)
  • Ckai D.

So far, 5 stars for their BBQ mix plate and their Loco Moco. For their loco moco, it beats L&L out of the way, no comparison. Their gravy is not too thick and mixes perfectly with the eggs and rice. The eggs are fried to perfection, 1/4 dry, 3/4 runny, just the way I like it and the beef patties are thick and look home made. I need to try their katsu next time, but as for katsu, L&L is still the best.

    (5)
  • Connie T.

I was interested in Hawaiian food and moved to this area not too long ago. I found this place on yelp and decided to give it a try. The hubby and I enjoy the food from here. My all time fav is the chicken Katsu. The staff there is really nice and we always call in the order ahead and then pick up.

    (4)
  • Shane S.

The food here is INCREDIBLE and made extremely fast. It is super close to Paramount Ice Land, so dropping your kid off for hockey or figure skating and having a delicious meal is a wonderful plan. We have tried various dishes and none have disappointed whatsoever. HUGE portions. Highly recommend.

    (5)
  • Kai W.

Large portion and tasty. Not bad. Will go back to try other stuff.

    (4)
  • Alex C.

This place is pretty good and the portions are amazing. I went with my husband and each got one plate. We ended up having leftovers for the next day. The food was very tasty and will be going over and over

    (5)
  • Jose R.

Just had lunch... I think I prefer L&L, but this place is pretty good. Everyone at work always orders food from here, so I finally tried it out. I had the Honey, Spicy Chicken with rice and macaroni and it was delish!

    (3)
  • J C.

Really friendly staff and great food. Their mini meal is twice the size of L&L. I love the BBQ chicken musubi here! You can also pick up the wifi from the Starbucks a few doors down.

    (5)
  • Carlos M.

This place is so good. I always get the BBQ chicken Mini and an order of Spam Musubi. It comes with BBQ Chicken, white rice and macaroni salad. I come here all the time whenever I want some Hawaiin food. I think it might even be better then L&L's!

    (4)
  • Darlene G.

This place is sooo good!! I work across the street from it and it's always a treat when I get out of the office to come here! I personally like it better than L&L because of how fresh it is. The only thing that sucks is that I eat soo much that I get super sleepy by the time I get back to work. Mmm, get the chicken Katsu! It comes with rice and macaroni salad.

    (5)
  • Edwin C.

I'm glad to have found a plate lunch place close to my work when I need a plate lunch fix! I've had their bbq chicken musubi, bbq mix plate, and katsu, all of which didn't dissapoint. The bbq mix plate was huge and definitely enough for 2 people. However for me I found that one scoop or rice wasn't enough and was left with a bunch of meat by the end of my meal. All the meat was well seasoned and reminded me of a standard plate lunch back home. The mac salad was good as well (i mix mine in sriracha for some more flavor). The chicken katsu mini plate is a better size for one person and was very good! chicken was nice and juicy and breaded very well. it came with one scoop of rice and one scoop of mac salad. I still had hard time finishing it and by the time i was done i was stuffed. well worth it though haha and a great meal for around 5-6 dollars. Ive gotten the bbq chicken musubi one several different occasions, and it still hasn't really hit the spot yet. the musubi were quite small, however you get two for $3. they should definitely put more chicken inside because i always end up just eating rice with no chicken :/ chicken is the same chicken they have on their plates but with some teri sauce. overall a great place for lunch and i can't wait to try their other offerings!

I love the food here.. it's great.. The b.b.q mix plate is really good. The soups are good too....

  • joseph o.

Similar to L&L, great tasting hawaiian food. Bbq chicken, bbq beef, mac salad, etc. Try the house special noodles, it's a feast!

I've been passing by this Hawaiian restaurant "Waikiki Hawaiian Grill" for months, and finally me and my girlfriend decided to stop by for lunch. The parking lot is shared with several other places Starbucks,Ross, 31 flavors ice cream etc. but it's pretty large. The interior was clean with several small table and chairs that seats maybe 20 people, we were greeted by friendly employees that offered to recommend some specials, but I ordered my favorite from "L&L Hawaiian food" out in Pico Rivera with a side of spam misubi our order was quick and delivered to our table with a smile, but to my disappointment the spam misubi had paper thin spam in it and the rice wasn't seasoned and it had tasteless dry rice (most likely cutting corners on cheap rice not the usual sushi rice to save some money) the Katsu chicken was $6.59 and a smaller portion than most Hawaiian restaurants, but still was enough for 2 people, and I just thought it was okay, as for the macaroni salad I think someone forgot to season this as well........ I think I better stick with what I know "L & L Hawaiian" is alot better

    (2)
  • Jax L.

great food, large portions, friendly staff, better than L&Ls get the house special noodles + hawaiian pineapple fried rice.

Yummy, friendly staff there to help. Good portions... Pasta salad a bit too much mayo but overall pretty good portions compared to the other similar places.

This place is around the corner from my work and I love coming here for lunch. You can get a big portion or a mini meal. I usually get the mini meal because it's enough food. It's always fresh and the staff is great! The whole place is consistantly clean and I've turned everyone here in the office into fans! It's really good.
