We've been here twice. Once the service was so slow, we should have just combined our lunch and dinner into one meal. Food was OK though.. but last night, ordered Pizza Take out (thin) via Grub Hub app... We live not far from here but nothing was ready when we got here. That being said, the Pizza was very hot so that was good, however, once i got home, I found the crust was just horrible and soggy.. my goodness, those who are recommending this pizza must have been deprived all their lives if they considered this good. Test - if you lift up a piece by the edge and it droops down to the floor, you need a better oven as this is NOT good pizza.. Sausage was not even that plentiful.. like one per piece. Thank goodness I also ordered some crispy ravioli because I ate less pizza.. Honestly, this place would close down in a month if they were in Chicago.

Wow. We exchanged the red sauce for white sauce and it completely changed the pizza experience from good to great. One of the best pizzas I've had barring none.

Probably the best pizza here in the desert. VERY good. The Chicago deep dish. Get it. Pizza is what to get here. Be careful ordering the salads and pasta. Some are good and some are not. It's a nice place and the servers are excellent! If they are busy they may look understaffed but the servers are real pros and can handle it with a smile.

Awesome! We came here one year ago and were dying to come back on our next vacation! It was as delicious as we remembered! Staff were all super kind, helpful, and our server was super nice. I can't wait to come back again!!

Quaint little bistro/cafe type of restaurant with prompt customer service. Clean and well lit. Modern and contemporary design with enough warm Italian tones (walls are painted in clay-esque color with stamped with texture to mimic old world architecture design). Good place for families but good place for a date. We came in for a late lunch so there wasn't a huge crowd - the wait time for food was good. We were hoping that we weren't going to be disappointed because we had traveled for an hour just to try this out. We WERE NOT disappointed at the least! The food was delicious. I had a Caesar salad to start and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they had anchovies as an optional add on (of course I added the anchovies!) Good dressing coverage without the salad being obnoxiously slathered. My husband had their house salad - it was wonderfully and refreshingly sweet and spicy with a mixture of arugula, garbanzo beans, and beets. Also, we had their bruschetta with tomato and roasted garlic pesto. At first I was surprised that the bread they used was pita bread but the pesto and pita together was a perfect marriage. The pesto was warm and all the parts were soft enough that you can spread it onto the pita without destroying your pita. Perfectly cooked down and flavor was umami! For entrées I had a plate of their vongole (pasta with baby clams in clear sauce - I believe butter, garlic, and white wine based). I had to add a little bit of salt, pepper, and red chili flakes but I was glad that it came the way it did. It's a lot better when customers can make simple adjustments rather than having a dish come overly spiced and salted. Otherwise very good and I was already semi full from the appetizers but I couldn't put down my fork!! My husband had their chicken calabrese plate. Chicken was well seasoned with crispy breading topped with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, basil, and balsamic vinaigrette accompanied with a small, but sufficient amount of pasta (although my husband reported that the tomato sauce lacked a bit of seasoning and rather "canny") and steamed vegetables. He enjoyed his dish especially the chicken and its accoutrements. Although we were thoroughly satiated by this time, we did try a couple of their desserts. I had an affogato and my husband had their gluten-free brownie topped with chocolate gelato and a demitasse. The affogato was chocolate gelato with espresso and dark rum topped with fresh cream. It was served in a medium size latte mug. The gelato was rich but coupled with the espresso and dark rum, the sweetness was cut down, which made the dessert a well balanced blend; however, that rum was strong. I'm not complaining but it's not a dessert for the kids to even lick your spoon hah! You'll be breathing rum for the next hour or so . Don't be shy - give this place a try!

Enjoyed the atmosphere and early bird drink specials. Caesar Salad was excellent, they got it right with the dressing full of flavor! We ordered the Chicago Style pizza, it was Good, but not like the deep dish pizza I've had in Chicago it fell a little flat. Worth coming back and trying some of the pasta dishes! Friendly attentive staff!

Great choices... I had the Chicago Style Pizza... heavy on the sauce.... Which is how a Chicago Pizza is supposed to be. Customer service great.... LOVED IT!

The events that took place this evening left me absolutely speechless and disgusted with the staff at this restaurant. There was a time when I used to love coming to this restaurant, the owner would greet us and was beyond accommodating. It's been about a year since I've dined in the restaurant and the amount of disrespect shown to my family and friends tonight was on a level that I can't say I've experienced in any restaurant! It truly makes me sad for the owner because he knows how to run things when he is present and these people working for him are going to run his business right into the ground. We sat outside, we were a pretty good sized party, 6 adults (one pregnant, might I add.) and 3 children. We start ordering beverages, most of us order sparkling water (Pellegrino) only to be told 10 minutes later that they have run out. Perhaps any bottled flat water? No. Ok, so we order other drinks. We all put our orders in, my son is a terribly picky eater and I specifically request plain penne noodles with only butter. It comes with Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top, not a big deal. I politely let our waiter know of the mistake and he throws his hands up and says "Really? He can't eat it?" I look at him, bite my tongue and politely ask for the noodles with just butter. I brush it off. I understand the restaurant industry as I've worked in it before and I get that sending things back can be frustrating, even if it was the kitchens mistake. We chose to sit outside, the water mist system felt nice, but we weren't prepared for the lack of water. Seeing that even at night it's still nearly 90 degrees we were all feeling thirsty and so one of us went up to ask the manager if it was possible to have someone get a few bottles of water from the grocery store in the same shopping center. The bartender quickly steps in and says that it's illegal to do so. So my friend tries to politely point out how hot it is, the children need some water as well as our pregnant friend (All the while the manager is sitting at the bar eating her dinner and drinking a beer) The bartender yells- yes, YELLS, saying its illegal to get us bottled water from the store. The Manager (obviously annoyed) pushes her plate in an exaggerated manner and says she'll just go get the water. She returned with the warm bottles of sparkling water, the waiter brought glasses without ice and placed the bottles on the table without bothering to pour the water. Yet again we tried being kind, my friend went up to give the manager a $40 tip for getting the water and told her thank you, she took the money quickly and continued chatting with another table. The overall demeanor of the staff truly left me never wanting to return. It's absolutely absurd how disrespectful they treat customers. As much as I used to love dining here, I will never return and I will absolutely be spreading to word to everyone I know.

Wow... I really wanted to like this. I love Chicago style food. Unfortunately, both meals we ordered were inedible. I tried Fettuccine Alfredo(which is hard to mess up) and my friend had Spaghetti Puttanesca. Our food was SO salty that I could only eat a few bites-including the soup. Hell, I like salty food but this was over the top. Both meals were just as salty...I'm hoping it was just a chef mistake. I'd like to try to come back for a deep dish or even a Chicago Dog but it's going to be a while before I forget this experience. I wouldn't give it a one star because that seems a bit harsh... Could have been an over-salted mistake, but I admit I feel a little ill.

I ordered a take out pizza, which was pretty tasty. Nothing special to report, but the experience with the cashier, who was acting like the owner / GM (and was likely one or both), was flustered and frustrated and it's kind of sad why. I had checked in on yelp when I got there, which included a free scoop of gelato. When I brought this up, she sighed deeply and acted like it was a huge deal to make an exception since I was 'taking out' rather than dining in. Ultimately, she brought it out before I left, but it tasted like spite and vitriol. Sometimes, in areas like Palm Springs, people forget that simply being friendly to those who found you based on others reviews might be a smart choice. I'm not saying I should be given special treatment because I'm a yelper, I'm simply saying that common sense would tell someone intelligent that any time you get a new customer and are told HOW they found you, it might make sense to be courteous for the sake of improving the customer experience. The pizza was tasty as I said. That being said, minus the service I'd totally go back if I were in the area.

We can in with two couples and 6 kids. They rocked it. Peter our server rocked it and the busser was on it. Pizza was good, Caesar dressing was great and Moscow mike made perfect. We will be back in next few months! TV's to catch sports and a patio if it's cool enough!

I would do them again for pizza but not the Chicago Eggplant Parm. Prob frozen Eggplant, chewy. Busing a Yelp coupon for free Gelato. Bar tender enjoys a challenge.

Very solid take-out pizza in Palm Springs. But beware of the extra large, it's ginormous and the box will not fit in a standard fridge. That just means you have to eat the whole thing! There's a dine-in restaurant, but when you're renting a house nearby, you want to spend as much time in the pool as possible!

Been there once. The food was great, as was the vibe. Will definitely return.

The spinach salad would have been good if it hadn't been overdressed. Clamari terrible. Are we in California? Unrecognizable. Pizza very average. Don't order a large vegetarian or the middle of the pizza is super soggy.

  • Ted S.

Ordered take out. Pasta bolognese. $14. Less than you'd get in a Lean Cusine--barely covered small aluminum pan--1/3. Ceasar salad. $6.50. Plain lettuce in a small clam shell with a small plastic container of bottled dressing. Never Again!!

Best pizza west of the Susquehanna River! But, service is what it shouldn't be. Slow and not the best. This place is at its best when the Funke's (owners) are here, which doesn't seem to be very often anymore.

Love love love this place. As a matter of fact, my boyfriend and I ate here TWICE on our 2 day trip. It's that good. We walked over here from our hotel, The Saguaro, which is across the street. The Chicago deep dish pizza is amazing and so flavorful. I highly recommend it. The dough is fresh and the tomato sauce is the best. Their Caesar salad is also really good. I will definitely be back on my next trip! I can't stop thinking about this pizza... I wish they were closer to my house! The staff is also really friendly. I prefer friendliness over pretentiousness. :) I'm in love!!!!!!

We eat at Giuseppe's regularly, because it's near us, and the pizza is usually (but not always - once it was terribly undercooked) reliably good. The place is always packed, so obviously I'm the Grump who stole Christmas here.

Being from Chicago we are pretty picky and hesitant when someone claims to gave "real Chicago pizza." We had a deep dish and a thin crust. Neither of which was cooked properly and the ingredients we ordered were also wrong on both. That being said, it was still pretty good. We will give them a second chance. Will just need to make sure we order all pizzas well done. Our bartender, Jason, was very nice and took one of the pizzas off our bill. Cute place with great outdoor seating. Will try again.

This breaks my heart to write this but I had such a tough month and today was no different. I went in for lunch to Giuseppes' Pizza for the eggplant however, I felt when I got there is was so hot that would be too heavy. So, I decided that I would try their pizza - lunch special. OMG - the pizza on the plate looked good - kinda disappointed that I did not have cheeze like I asked but I was too tired to ask. I manage to eat the first slice - and could not do any more. The entire pizza bottom was burnt. The crust was dry and oily. Whoever warmed up my two slices of pizza did it without love. Aweful Aweful Aweful - even Bill Pizza is wonderful by the slice. Am sorry, after this experience I will not even order a pizza. Am so disappointed too I am from Chicago - where the pizza is fabulous...not here tho.

Great dinner and they have the best meatballs you'll find at the finest Italian restaurants! My kids love this place too. I still am Leary about ordering takeout as I know eating in that a pizza only takes 7 minutes to prepare....not 45. Ok unless you like your pizza cold.

Plenty of one-star reviews here and complaints about the customer service and it's easy to see why. I called last night to order a few pizzas for take out and had to deal with the most obnoxious jerk on the phone. I think I could probably name five or six snide remarks he made during the two minute call, many of which were because he wasn't listening to my order or didn't have the mental capacity to take orders over the phone. For example, he got bizarrely belligerent with me because I didn't tell him what kind of crust I wanted on my margherita pizza, when the only menu clearly states that it's only available in the thin crust. He said something to the effect of, "Whoa, whoa, whoa! You gonna tell me what kind of crust you want on that or you gonna just keep talking?" I also asked for anchovies on the side and he said, "Yeah, sure, I'll write it down but the kitchen won't remember, so...." Wow! Way to have some confidence in your coworkers, bro! He also seemed really confused at various points while I was giving him my order and then got pissy and acted like it was my fault when I was in a quiet room and giving him my full attention. I have no idea what I could've done on my end to make it go more smoothly. I was ordering multiple (3) pies and some salads, but I had my order written in front of me and was going through it slowly! So frustrating. Normally I would've written off any one of these things as miscommunication, or some dude having a bad night or being distracted, but there were multiple negative aspects to the ordering process. When I got off the phone, my blood was boiling. I would've cancelled my order if I didn't have a house full of hungry relatives. Anyway, whatever dude answered the phone around 7, 7:15 pm on the night of Saturday, January 17, 2015, needs to be reminded that he works at a glorified Domino's. Better yet, he should be canned. Oh, and as for the food, it was totally mediocre. Definitely nothing special. Like I said, a glorified Domino's. The sausage I requested on one of the pies we ordered wasn't added, but given the idiot who I spoke with on the phone, I'm not surprised. He probably did it on purpose. I'd rather eat a dirt sandwich than order from this place again.

Best Italian beef I've tried in Cali, mozzarella sticks, minestrone awesome. Chicago pizza had the right amount of olive oil in the crust and was cooked to perfection.

Really nice spot... Good food, great choices, lovely salads, nice staff! This is my 2nd visit... I love the older Italian style (red & white checker board table clothes) and fresh new ideas (gluten free pizzas and pastas, healthy options and creative lighter fare if you wan to opt out of the deep dishes and cheesy goodness!

I like the bar area... good TV's to watch sports and not be at a sports bar -- 'bout all I got to say. Food looked good, although all I had were drinks. Casual -- but not too casual -- atmosphere. Give it a shot.

They have great lunch specials here. I got a slice of mushroom pizza, a side salad and a drink for under 10 bucks. It's not a place you should go to when you're short on time though. Took about 20 minutes to get the slice of pizza. But it's delicious :)

  • Ross R.

One of the best pizza's in the valley. Generous ingredients, delicious crust and sauce. A really decent sized pizza compared the other pizza places we order from. No fru-fru tiny "artisan" pizza's. This is abbondanza! We always have a few bonus slices for the next day. I would give it 5 Stars except for one thing. Consistency. Maybe they're changing management or chefs. We order the same pizza every time, and every time it comes out different. The garlic is crushed, it's sliced, it's whole. We order a half and half pizza and often both halves come with different ingredients over the whole pizza. BUT, it's always delicious! If you want a real Italian style pizza, this is the one.

I am from Chicago and this place comes in second of all deep dish pizzas I've tried right behind my favorite pizza place in Chicago, Gino's East! The food is fresh and tasty, the owners are very friendly Chicago natives. I made made own combo there, pepperoni, onion, basil, and goat cheese. Amazing! If you are craving pizza in the desert, go here. Love the outdoor patio as well.

Very good chicago style pizza. We also loved the nutty salad, its a perfect serving for two and then get a pizza........ Nice to see the full bar and the great staff. Service was nice and very attentive. Location is a little offbeat in a shopping center, but don't let that stop you. Thank you for the nice dinner and great chocolate gelato.

The restarurant has a nice ambience to it. It's a small yet elegant place good for family dining. There is a full bar and a TV inside and out for the sports fanstics. Service was good and our waitress Sarah was surely informative. Our family is from Chicago and their Chi-town style pizza was pretty on point. The calamari was breaded and fried just right and the briuchetta bread was baked just the right amount of crispness. The chicken penne was creamy and had a nice mesquite taste taste to it. The crust on the pizza was rewarding to get to after the loaded main portion of the slice. I could only handle 1 1/2 slices and I usually can eat a lot. They serve complimentary bread with the oil and vinagrette already on the table. The service was good and I will say that one of the servers accidentally ran into my kid nephew. It was quite busy. But he ensured that his apology was accepted by offering my nephew with two scoops of gelato ice cream. I think my nephew should try to get servers to run into him more often

ATTENTION FELLOW YELPERS!!!... this IS the Italian spot in the desert. I have lived here as a snowbird since 06' and I am so happy I found Giuseppe's pizza and pasta in smoke tree. FINALLY! GOOD ITALIAN IN PS!!! Lets start this review with the customer service, I called and placed my difficult order to Ray on the phone and I made her work for it. She was GREAT, PERSONABLE and read the order back to me and made me feel confident that there would not be an error. That was ROCKSTAR. I walked in and I met Kimberly. Her family is apart of the restaurant and I have to tell you, it was good. She had a BEAUTIFUL smile and I asked her about the different kinds of pizza from Chicago vs NY and also some various Italian sauces and she knew her trivia!! I knew I was in GREAT hands, she even made some GREAT recommendations which I will trust her on and I will be dining on in the future.. She really knew her stuff and that is what you want coming from someone at the front desk and managing. (I come from a restaurant background being a Greek from NY and this place had their stuff together) I usually write reviews after I have eaten at a place 3 times and incorporate my reviews in 3 sections, customer service, food taste and price w/over-all vibe... After just ONE visit, I can easily use the adjective "SPECTACULAR" for describing the attitude, ambiance, food taste and customer service. Right on Ray and Kimberly... you gals were so sweet! The early bird specials were GREAT! The early bird special was $12.99 for salad and a DARN GOOD chicken Marsala and the chicken parm was worth every penny. My friend and I were stealing the DELICIOUSNESS of each others plates!! ha! I used "cap locs" to show visual emphasis on all the AWESOMENESS found in this great Pizza and Pasta place. ENJOY and you are welcome! ;)

Great experience. Great service. The house salad is very tasty. My son and I were headed back home after being at his baseball tournament in Arizona. Another family had mentioned having really good pizza in Palm Springs on their trip to the event and that they found the restaurant on Yelp. They never said what the name of the business was though. I decided to pick a pizza place out using Yelp as well . I prefer regular crust pizza.

Went back for 2nds this evening! Did takeout this time! Excellent deep dish sausage and pepperoni pizza Cesar Salad side! Very satisfying and delicious! Noticed a little extra... the line the bottom of the pizza box so it does not slide around in the box when transported. Great idea!

Our first impression was "wow, this place is nice!" More of a date night kind of scene. We took our 10 month old daughter with us and had just got back from a local park, so we felt a bit under dressed for the location. Friendly staff, reasonble prices. If you want to enjoy happy hour be sure to sit at the bar since that is the only location where happy hour is allowed. Overall, food was great, location was nice and we enjoyed the conversations with the staff.

Do not eat here at all!! My wife and I just experienced the worst customer service ever. Ordered a beer and it came with ice cubes. We let the waitress know that there was ice in the beer and asked for a new beer. The bartender walks over and drops a new beer off and doesn't even say a word to us and just walks away. He was rude and the fact that he didn't even acknowledge an error showed how unprofessional he was. After our dinner, we spoke to the bartender and let him know just how rude he was and his response was that "You want me to apologize for ice cubes in a beer?" We said yes...just maybe acknowledge something when you dropped the beer off. He then said, "I don't understand what you're trying to say...I don't follow...and we're really busy right now." So we said, doesn't matter how busy you are...we are customers too & let us break it down for you...you were rude and this was the worst customer service. On top of that, the food was mediocre...very greasy & the pasta sauces were extremely watery. We will definitely make it a point to let everybody we know to never eat here.

They have gluten free pizza! Yay! This is a little place in a strip mall but in the quieter area along the side. They have outdoor seating so yes, bring your dog! If it's hot out there's misters and shades. They also have a happy hour (3:30 to 5:30) with $3 glasses of wine. Pepperwood chard was what I was served...okay, not the best, but okay. Mainly a 60+ crowd at the small bar and all were very friendly folks. You MUST be at the bar for happy hour and there's not a lot of space there. They also have an assortment of tasty delights, like calamari, available at a discount during happy hour. Very nice assortment of pizzas available and you can also build your own. They also have gluten free pasta and I'll try that next time. The pizza is more of the Chicago style ...and not the California style (thank goodness!) Have stopped in several times now. Give it a whirl.

This little joint was really good! My gf and I went tonight, on holiday in Palm Springs... Highlights: Kind, speedy wait staff Soft, elegant ambiance Good local brews Tasty not pricey food. We had a package salad/meal/dessert dinner for only 20$. My huney had pizza...good stuff. We would come back.

Excellent comfort Italian food in this neighborhood gem. The thin crust pizzas are so tasty and their appetizer salads delicious. The only issue is with the noise level - it is very hard to have an intimate conversation with all the background noise.

  • Bryan S.

Unfortunately I did not have Chicago style pizza as I was outnumbered but had plain old thin crust pepperoni pizza. It was delicious and left me not feeling as full as if I was to eat a Chicago deep dish. Price is a bit on the higher side but will still keep coming back. Plus they had Saint Archer on tap.

After the rave reviews thought I would order two pizzas for take out since close to closing time. Older woman behind counter playing with her hair not paying attention to customers walking in.once placed order was told 20 minutes. After 30 minutes asked her if ready yet. She said no. Waited ten more minutes then asked again. She was informed by coworker pizza had been ready awhile. Got back to Hotel(less than ten minute drive). Pizza temp slightly warm. Restaurant closed by that time so didnt call to tell them. Needless to say after spending about $40 on two specialty pizzas that were slightly warm at best will not be going back. Customer service sucks.

Well, I've been coming here almost weekly for a couple of years now, mostly at lunch time. Lately they've done a couple of things that have made me stay away. The local grocery store always had coupons on the back of the receipts. For more than a year my lunch friend and I would use the coupons with no problem. Then one day they decided to tell us that the coupons were not valid for lunch specials. Another similar thing was that I would always order a lunch pizza and get a small salad for $2 extra, always offered by the server. Last time I was there they decided to charge me $6.50 for the salad and acted as though they weren't aware of the $2 price, again after offering it for the last two years. And I'm the Duke. They should take notice.

Dear Joe What happened? We've been loyal since your Cath City days. Our deep dish meat special pizza was a thin crust but served in a deep dish. It was short on toppings on a soggy crust. The staff was overwhelmed for lunch with many tables not bussed. We expect much better from Giuseppe's Jennifer

This is usually a favorite must-stop for us on our annual visit. This time was a disappointment. The first time we went in, we waited 10 minutes for someone to wait on us. After 10 minutes, we handed our menu's back to the host and left. We went back because we wanted to give it another try. We had the carbonera which was extremely flavorless. We will try the place again next time but really disappointed.

We have found our new Italian fix in town. We were going to Johnny Costas but they are closed for the summer. We came here based on yelp reviews and are thrilled we did. Very friendly staff, - bread is amazing, you will ask for more. - nutty salad was huge and so good. - The spaghetti bolognese was obviously home made and delicious. - We also had the cajun chicken pasta, the chicken was juicy, and the cajun gave it a great bite. We will be back.

Would give them 6 stars if I could. We were there for the first time. The staff was very friendly and helpful, I was even assisted with my walker. Never had a genuine Chicago style pizza before, It was very delicious! the bread was good, had some rosemary in it, tasty! the mozzarella sticks were awesome! someone said they were pricey, but I thought they worth the price, they were big! they were well done. About the pizza, we loved it! we had a pepperoni and sausage it was wonderful! best sausage I've ever had. Now we know where to go for pizza when we visit Palm Springs.

Had the worst experience ever. Rude bartender who greeted us by saying we were difficult and he had to go back into the kitchen 5 times. He proceeded to follow us out to the parking lot to say that we are no longer welcome there. How humiliating especially after a long hike. So sad after going there for four years. I will no longer recommend this place to anyone we know again. Sara O.

Giuseppe's has racked up 130+ reviews, so there's not a whole lot more I can add here. I'll just echo what so many others have said -- the food here is on point. From our appetizer -- fried mozzarella sticks -- to our entree -- cajun chicken pasta -- good stuff all the way around. Service was a little slow when we went. Really odd considering it was a Sunday afternoon and not at all busy. Get the feeling though it was the kitchen's issue and not the server's. No need to travel far to hook up good Italian food. Just head on over to east Palm Canyon and you're good to go.

The food was mediocre at best. Overpriced for the quality of food. Waitress forgot to bring our wine to the table (thankfully we weren't charged for it). We had to ask for re-fills (yes they were free). Service was not the best. I will certainly avoid this restaurant next time I'm in the area. And I ordered a salad, and they charged me extra to add tomatoes to the salad! Of all things to be charged for, tomatoes, really?!

Yummy!!! Giuseppe's Nutty Salad is amazing!!! All three kids fought over it, respectfully if course. My husband was mad because he ordered it and it was salad-napped by the kids. My husband and daughter loved the Blackened Salmon. The Fettuccini Alfedo sauce was awesome, full of garlicky goodness. Everyone loved the asparagus... I wish we had a larger portion. We shared three desserts. The chocolate cake was good and was a large portion. The creme brûlée was amazing. But for me, it was all about the Spumoni Pie. (mike drop) Nice atmosphere and friendly service. The kids were already deciding what they would order when we came back, you know... tomorrow.

I ordered a small pizza and my girlfriend ordered a steak. My pizza had a soggy AND burnt crust, but it tasted really good. They use a lot of sauce and not a lot of cheese, so if you like cheese you may want to order extra. The steak was not cooked to the requested temperature, but they fixed it and had a great attitude about it. All the food tasted really good and the service was great! They even gave us a free desert for the trouble. Overall I'm happy with the visit. I think if they got quality control down this place could easily be getting 5 stars.

This place is great! It is one of the few hangouts for locals that tourists don't know about. We have always gone on Saturdays but went on Sunday for the first time a couple of weekends ago. I like to get the Italian sub but the server learned after she put the order in that they don't make it on Sundays. So for she offered me anything on the menu absolutely free of charge. I got the chicken piccata, which is about twice as much, and they didn't blink because they are so customer service-oriented. Good times!

This joint is located in a random strip mall near a grocery store. Service was really awesome and interior was nice. They also had a patio if you could bear the heat with some misters. We opted for the interior seating! They give you complimentary bread, which is always nice. I hadn't had it in a while - so it was pretty tasty with the balsamic/olive oil. For an appetizer, we tried the Crispy Calamari with Lemon Pepper & Spicy Marinara. The calamari was thick cut and the addition of the lemon pepper to spread on it gave an interesting taste! I also tried the Joe's special deep dish pizza with Sausage, Pesto, Red Onion & Green Pepper. I hadn't had that combo of items on a pizza before ( you usually get pesto with chicken), so it was unique and quite good! I would definitely come here again when I come back to Palm Springs!

This place needs to hire better cooks and hostesses. I don't think I'll be back here, ever! No one greeted me for the first 5 minutes. I wasn't charged correctly, so I thought I was being given my free scoop of gelato for checking in, NOT!!!! They still charged me for one but gave me two scoops. Really?!?! Never going to come here. Their deep dish was horrible too.

This was my 1st visit and definitely the last. Boy, was this a poor excuse for Chicago deep dish pizza. I was born in Chicago and still used to a fine deep dish pizza. This was soggy from the smothered tomatoes. To me, deep dish is fluffy bread like and not wet and mushy. Dominoes and frozen put this place to shame. Beyond bad when you attempt to say you are an authentic Chicago pizza.

I stumbled upon this place as I was in the post office and I'm so glad I did. It's so delicious I've eaten here 3 days in a row!! Really good home cooked Italian meals at great prices. Lunch special is awesome- 12 bucks for a great Ceasar salad, entree and home baked bread. Def eat here.

I had the worst restaurant nightmare in this place. Owners were out of town - so that may be the reason but the food was so bad I will not give it another chance. The tables were filthy and sticky. The bread was dry and fell apart. The ravioli tasted like it was weeks old, and the sausage was so overcooked and hard I couldn't cut it with a knife. The manager was rude and arrogant. I don't know who is writing these 5 star reviews, but Guiseppes doesn't deserve them. There are way too many wonderful Italian restaurants in Palm Springs area to waste your time and money here! Sheri from Palm Springs 8/18/14

When you have a taste for pizza, nothing will do but fresh, hot pizza! So, dinner time on Monday, April 27, 2014, my friend and I embarked on a pursuit for pizza that would delight both my vegan and her gluten-free requirements. Fortunately, a mere 2 miles from our dusty desert town fortress retreat was Giuseppe's Pizza & Pasta whose motto is "For a taste of Chicago". This seemed like a good place to start since we're both Italian and I'm a Chicago native. If you have to pick a place for pizza in a city your not familiar with, that's as good a method as any! The menu is extensive with "Starters", side dishes, sandwiches, salads, full entrees, pasta dishes, desserts AND pizza!!! But here's where it gets complicated, perhaps overly complex for the hungry, hot and thirsty customer. There's plenty of "specialty pizza" variety (no substitutions) but then you have a "make-it-your-way" option with 28 different possible ala carte toppings, thin crust, thick crust, gluten free crust, hand thrown crust, different sizes, different prices for some of the toppings. It's a mind boggling array of Chicago taste choices. When you're hungry the choices seem endless and overwhelming -- but then I get cranky when I'm hungry so keep that in mind as you read this review. We both ordered the small vegetarian specialty pizza with gluten free crust. I got the vegan soy cheese topping. We also ordered sautéed spinach and garlic to tied us over until the pizza arrived. Let me just say, the sautéed spinach was outstandingly perfect! Sautéed in plenty of olive oil with generous heaps of fresh garlic and a hint of lemon, this side dish could have been the star attraction. We had no sooner devoured the spinach than the pizza arrived ("That was fast!") along with the glass of white wine our server suggested (so many wines, beers and inebriating liquids to choose from I just gave up and asked for guidance). The pizza did not disappoint -- in fact it took my breath away -- especially the artichoke hearts atop the mound of veggies. The pizza was amazing and I can only think the other specialty pizzas -- despite the seemingly endless possibilities to fill one's gullet -- are just as deliciously amazing. The small pizza was too big to eat in one sitting (not a criticism) so we both took home 4 of the 6 slices for the next day's breakfast and lunch (very economical). Not everyone likes wine -- especially white wine -- with pizza but on a hot day I do and the suggested California wine I had (unfortunately I can't recall which of the dizzying number of white wines it was) cooled me and complimented the veggie pizza to perfection. So, trust the person who takes your order because she/he knows the menu better than you can hope to in the few minutes you have to look it over and decide (unless you tend toward being a control freak or eat the same thing all the time). The whole meal thoroughly satisfied my inner vegan, female version of a Homer Simpson appetite. Staff were high energy, friendly, professional and exactly right for this eatery. We ate on the nice, cool patio, away from the blaring sports TVs inside and that's a welcome choice if you want to have conversation with your dinner partner! I forgot to ask whether I could have brought my well-behaved, leashed dog with me on the patio but I don't see why not. In all, I would not hesitate to return to Guiseppes for a taste of Chicago and try more items that are vegan (several pasta dishes and interesting salads from which to choose -- or ask your server).

I really wanted to like this place. I lived in Chicago for seven years and am a huge fan of the deep dish. My wife and I came here over Labor Day weekend, and used our usually reliable Yelp app to choose a dinner location. Cutting to the chase, the ambiance and service was great. We were seated promptly and offered drinks within the first few minutes. We started with the nutty salad, which included spinach, pineapple, strawberries, pancetta!!!, fried goat cheese!!, and of course nuts. It was a fantastic start to the meal!!! But then the pizza came. We ordered the house special Chicago style. The server had a lot of difficulty getting the slices out, but I didn't really think much of it until I started trying to cut into my own slice. My knife kept getting stuck in the gooey bottom crust. The whole pizza filling seemed to melt into a stew of uncooked onions and tomatoes. The meat was ok though. My wife could only get through half a slice while I chugged through two slices. I was really sad when I left because I was expecting better things from the reviews I read. Maybe it was an off day? However, we noticed one of our neighbors returned his chicken and pasta dish because it was so dry and inedible per his words. As such, I'd be hard pressed to return.

I'm not a fan of Chicago style pizza, so tried the thin crust and it was really good. Wish they offered green olives as a topping, tho. ;-)

We are vegetarian and gluten free. We were surprised they has gluten free pasta and pizza. They were both amazing. The marinara sauce is a bit spicy and ohhhh so good. Our server ( I think her name is Sara) was very busy with the whole outdoor patio, but remained attentive to our needs and checked back with us regularly. We will definitely be back.

Strike one - had to use delivery service (LA Bite) and pay a huge surcharge for delivery and wait 1 hour and 45 minutes. Strike two - Thin crust pizza was like cardboard, had hardly any sauce or cheese on it, no flavor, it was just awful. Strike three - Deep dish pizza was almost all sauce, no cheese or toppings, we all needed to take tums after eating it, and we normally eat deep dish all the time with no issues. Strike four - called restaurant and they said "that's just how our deep dish pizzas are", and they refunded us only half of our money. Was not impressed at all, don't know how this place got 4 stars.

Bf and I came to Palm Springs for the first time. After having just coffee for breakfast in West L.A., we were able to get to Palm Springs after a few detours and around 4-5 hours later. So, obviously very hungry and we were too early to check-in to the hotel. Found this strip mall, and decided to go in. I felt like having Italian, and the bf didn't disagree, so we walked in. Sunday afternoon, but well after lunch rush. A few tables were full, but we were seated immediately. Grace was our server. Very polite and professional. We ended up ordering the mozzarella sticks (which were freakin' awesome!) and the Chicago-style deep-dish pizza. The mozzarella sticks were really good, but it seemed sort of pricey for the amount that we did get. Got a medium-sized pizza, which ended up being a lot bigger than we were anticipating. This thing had toppings that were at least 1.5 inches high. I could only finish one slice (and I normally finish 4-5 slices of a regular pizza), while the bf barely had 2 slices. The pizza's price was definitely worth it. I really liked the decor of the place. Didn't feel too uppity or arrogant, and everything felt and looked very clean. The bathrooms were one of the cleanest bathrooms I've ever been to, if not the cleanest, and best-smelling one I've ever visited. Trust me, you can tell a lot about a restaurant by its bathroom... Overall, the service was great, and the food was delicious. To the point where we had to come back during our short stay at Palm Springs. This time, though, we ordered take out. Definitely had great service. They helped us out promptly, we ordered the food, told us to come back around 20 minutes. Got our piping hot food, and went to the hotel. When we came back, I was pretty disappointed on the amount of sauteed asparagus was for the appetizer. It was seriously around 6 sticks for around $8. A bit ridiculous. It was okay, but not the best. I also got some of their bread, which I thought was very tasty. We also ordered the calamari, which wasn't bad. The bf ordered pasta, which he said was awesome. I believe that we'll come back to this place the next time we're in Palm Springs. For the most part, the food is really good, especially the pizzas and pastas, and the service was polite and professional.

I hate to give a restaurant a bad rating from one pizza. So this rating is more for the pizza than the whole restaurant. I got the Margarita pizza to go. When I got to the car I looked at it (visually up appealing ) and took a bite. Not good. I got home took two more bites a threw it away. I don't think they know how to make a margarita pizza. It was horrible and expensive. Sorry guys - you should re think this pizza.

We found this place on Yelp. It is not far off the beaten track, but in an area we never would have found on our own. It was packed on a summer evening, and everything we had was delicious: bruschetta, arugula salad, and deep dish house special pizza. Plus they had a great liquor list, esp bourbons. We'll be back to try more of the menu.

Jeff and I stopped in for a quick dinner before a movie. He had visited a few times before with his friends and said that I might enjoy it. I did! It is a little darker inside than I like and it can get crowded because of the proximity of the tables to other tables. Some interesting black and white photos on the walls. Our server had a wonderful personality and was attentive to our needs. When we mentioned that we were going to catch a movie, he was able to expedite our order. We didn't even ask, so I appreciated that. He checked on us multiple times, without being obtrusive. I asked for Joe's special pizza. It has sausage, green peppers, red onions and pesto? Who cares? It was delicious. The sausage was flavorful and plentiful. The onions were sliced super thin, so they actually cooked through. The crust was thin. I ate the whole thing. I begrudgingly allowed Jeff to have a slice. He ordered the veal piccata (sp?) It came with vegetables (I ate some of them for Jeff.) and pasta (or potato.) The veal was very tender. The sauce was delicate, yet flavorful. I would have enjoyed that, if I had ordered it for myself. The pasta wasn't overly dressed, like some places. The warm bread that was served was delicious. At first, I thought it was rye bread, but then I tasted it and figured out it wasn't rye! It had a slight chew to it. (Jeff was at the bar, when it was brought to the table. If he hadn't returned so quickly, I might have eaten the whole basket!) Carb overload for me, but everything was so delicious. I was pleasantly surprised by the service and the food.

Always a great meal no matter the time of day. My husband decided we should go out for a pre-valentine's dinner. Great idea, not too many people. Nice and relaxing. Started our evening with Giuseppe's famous Bruschetta, oh did I mention it is warmed. That's the difference-amazing taste; yum, tomatoes, garlic, olive oil and secret finishing touches. I figured out a way to improve the crab salad!! Roasted artichokes; a definite YES! Thanks for an awesome evening!!!

First time at this location. The food was very very good, at a decent price point. The $20 all inclusive meals were a deal, too. Decent selection of entrees to choose from, and the included choice of tiramisu pretty darn good. Very busy on a hot August Thursday night, but service was very friendly. IMPROVEMENT: our only complaint of the evening was it was very LOUD in the dining area. Had trouble hearing the person across the table. Some sound absorption tiles on the ceiling would help immensely. CAN YOU HEAR ME?

  • Kenny B.

Less than impressed. The food was mediocre. We ordered three dishes and none of them were up to par. The spaghetti and meatballs were bland and dry, the ravioli with portobello mushrooms were blah packed with a lot of garlic and the pizza was the worst. We were told it would be 30 mins until our food was ready so we got there in 20 so that way it would be fresh and still hot by the time we got back home which was 10 mins away. The food tasted like it had been sitting out for a while. The pizza had a dry less than fresh taste and we could have done without it. The only thing that saves this place is the hostess who was very polite when our order was wrong. She apologized and offered to remake our pizza but we just decided to take what we got. If your going to this place to be impressed by the food, don't bother. If your looking for a quick bite and be on your merry way then you may want to try it. A little sad about the food.

Ok, I have given tis place 4 chances because I keep hearing about it form my friends. I am now giving up on this place. There is nothing authentic about the food. I had the chicken parmesan 2 times and i am almost positive that is was in a microwave at one point. the spaghetti on the side was undercooked, undersauced and under seasoned. the place is as hot as oven! the bar is tiny and full of loud people. I really don't know why anyone eats here. there is defiantly better italian food int his town.

We tried this place on our weekend vacation to PS. It was buried in a shopping center but we heard about it on Yelp and decided to try it. We were seated immediately and helped right away by a server. We decided to order a large Chicago deep dish pizza to share and a caesar salad for my husband. He said the salad was okay. We loved the pizza! I could only eat one slice and I was stuffed. The server was nice enough to put our leftovers into two smaller boxes so we could fit them into our hotel fridge. My husband enjoyed the leftovers on more than one occasion and they reheated well.

The Chicago style pizza was delicious. Although it didn't live up to our favorite Chicago pizza which of course is in Chicago - Giordano's! We got the large with pepperoni, Canadian bacon and onion, very tasty. As for the reviews that complained about service, our service was excellent. From the moment we walked in until the door was closing behind us everyone was friendly and attentive.

Buffalo wings were good, but too spicy. Great service, severs were so kind. A big turn off was that I found a hair in my penne and piece of dried skin in my water. Gross!

So I really wish you could rate food separate from the service. Not quite sure how many stars to give. Giuseppe's was recommended to us by the resort we are staying at. We started off with Bruschetta, it was warm which was a surprise however it was so good!!! We had ordered a salad but after the Bruschetta we asked if we could cancel the salad because we getting full and was told NO! Not even an offer to wrap it up for us. My husband ordered Sausage and Shrimp. There was a good portion if sausage but only three small shrimp. We stopped the server twice first question Where are the sun dried tomatoes are they in the sauce? Yes! We got confused looked at the menu there are no sun dried tomatoes in the sauce we ordered our mistake however should have know this dish does not have sun dried tomatoes. Second question Are there only three shrimp in the dish YES I had the pesto pasta with pine nuts it was good after I poured the leftover Bruschetta Sauce on it. We then wanted to claim the free gelato for being on yelp. Asked if we could get it to go because we were so full. NO! Had to eat it there . Never once did the Server stop and ask how our meal was or if we needed anything!!! I then went and asked if the owner was available and was told she had just sat down to eat dinner so could they help me? Yes the dish does come with three Jumbo shrimp we did not get Jumbo shrimp, of course you could have cancelled your salad and taken the gelato to go. When I went back to the table the owner came over and talked to us and was very nice. Told us that she would have adjusted the bill if we had not already taken care of it. Told her that is not what we asked for or wanted. Yes we could have cancelled the salad, the dish comes with equal amounts of sausage and shrimp and yes you can take the gelato home which the Server had already brought to the table. Was told that she would talk to all involved. Asked my husband how many stars I should give he said one or two but i have decided on three.

It was okay and food was good enough to come back and eat again. Prices were overpriced for what you get. In my opinion Mario's off Sunrise and Ramon is a better deal and better tasting.

My wife and I went there last night. It was really good. We had the deep dish pizza and it was REALLY GOOD. Service was EXCELLENT! Peter was our waiter and we told him that we were hungry but didn't want to take anything home. He took his time and did upsell us to the medium (5 stars). So why only 4 stars? I noticed a waitress texting and it took a while for them to pick up the check. Plus a good thing is that they have my favorite beer. Goose Island 312!

Hands down the BEST Chicago style pizza in the valley!!!!! They use high quality ingredients and the crust is flaky buttery crunchy goodness! I live in LaQuinta and will drive here then go to Rosati's which is down the street. I'm sorry but there is NO comparison. I recommend anyone who is looking for the real Chicago pizza experience to come here you won't be disappointed.

Since Giuseppe's Cathedral City office closed down last July, I have to drive farther for some really good pizza. I should have checked Yelp first, as I looked up their address in the Desert Pages phone book and they are listed as 1775 NORTH Palm Canyon Drive. A quick cell phone call got us vectored in. They are on the west side of the Smoketree Village shopping center at Highway 111 and Sunrise. Decor is nice. We ordered a small cheese pizza for our 'temporarily adopted daughter" from Shanghai and a medium sausage for my bride and myself. As it turned out, the small was way too much for one person, and the medium was too big for two. The slices turned out to be quite large, and two was all I could handle. The small one would have been plenty for two. Note that "Chicago style" is different. While most pizzas smear some sauce on the dough, then add the cheese and toppings, "Chicago style" puts the "toppings" on first and then they are covered with a generous coating of pizza sauce. The taste, however was great. We thought the background music sometimes became too foreground and the noise from the other patrons could have been attenuated by some well-placed acoustic panels, but otherwise it was a good late lunch.

I've been to Guiseppe's quite a few timesaver the past year or so and have always had a great meal and a wonderful time. The Fresh bread brought to the table is worth the trip alone. I've have the pasta a couple of times (couldn't pass up the carbonara) and both the Chicken and Eggplant Parmesan. The fact that I can get a side of fresh veggies is also a plus. Now, let's get down to the pizza. I've never been a fan of Chicago a Style pizza. Usually the crust is too much bread and too sweet, due to the cornbread crust. I'm usually a NY Style guy myself. Having said all of that, I'm a huge fan of Guiseppe's Chicago Style. Perfect amount of crust, not too sweet and packed with a hearty amount do sauce and toppings. I always steer friends towards the Deep Dish rather than the regular and they leave full and happy. Guiseppe's is definitely on my favorites of PS list.

Excellent pies! Pizza pies that is... This is THE place to get Chicago style deep dish...it is truly the best in the desert. No chain store stuff here, it's the real deal...also the large 18" "house special" is awesome The owner, Joe, always has a cool HD sitting out front, he's a cool dude, like a Frank Sinatra Harley ridin' pizza slinger, if you will... :) Their pizza is so good I haven't even got taste the rest of the menu yet.... Highly Recommend!

ok, the food, really dam good! I did enjoy the food! What pissed me off was that I was cheering while watching a football game, and old man told me to be quite at the freaking bar! really!? so this restaurant really is not for everyone! its very well groomed small, and looks like people with "money" go here! maybe ill go one day on a date sort of speak, but not with friends. I was actually told twice about my cheering to basically stay quiet! FU! Again, the food was really good!

My partner and I go to Palm Springs a lot to socialize and to have some great food. I have a favorite Thai place *Peppers*,a favorite Mexican food *Las Casuelas* and now Guiseppes is my favorite Italian place. I have been looking for a favorite italian place i can frequent. I have found it. For an appetizer we had the fried ravioli. It was delish.I had a salad which had slivers of beats which i dont perticulary liike but didnt mind in this salad. The bread they bring to the table as you wait for your food was tasty. Ok back to what we had.I finished off my big lunch with a small cheese pizza pie chicago style, which was delish as well. My partner had a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. I didnt taste the chicken since im vegetarian, but the fries were delish. The service was really good. There were two big parties having their brunch and they kept everyones glasses full with champaigne! While my son and I were dining here, my mother drove by. I asked our waiter, Chuy, if he might be able to put a little extra of the pesto sauce they use for the bruschetta in the bowl and re-warm it because my mom is joining us....he said I would have to re-order an entire order (pita bread as well, that was like 8 slices) so I asked him why they don't put enough in for all the slices, I had 3 pieces left, and he just shrugged his shoulders. Now I've been in hospitality before and I truly believe he could have and should have handled that a bit differently. It's not like the place was packed with a bunch of people, oh wait, we were the ONLY 2 customers. Mind you, there was a lot of traffic and noise amongst all the employees, which I might gather are related in some way or another, because that's how loud their conversations were. Anyway, our waiter left and didn't bother telling our table that someone else was going to be picking it up. Hmmmm, I guess I know what to expect and NOT to expect when choosing to come here in the future. I take pride in my tipping, however, this one goes down as you're getting what you deserve. So sorry.

I'm a fan but not for the waiter service, that is a 3. But unlike Pizza Pauls on Melrose in Los Angeles, (see my review) this place caters to people with food allergies. They have gluten free , dairy free pizzas & pasta dishes. Amazing! the owner was very kind & friendly and proud to offer those options for his food sensitive customers. He is old school Italian as well, and the restaurant boasts it's Chicago style cuisine. This place is a dream come true! As far as the rest of the food, it was packed & my friend loved his meal, so we both will be back. But be warned, although the owner & hostess were up on the details of allergens our waiter was not. So be clear with your orders.

Read the Yelp reviews before going and this place did not disappoint!! My boyfriend had Joe's special on thin crust and I had the pasta with sausage and vodka sauce. Delish!!!! I loved the fact that someone (not sure if it was the owner or manager) came around to ask how everything was. This place has great food and a great ambiance! Will definitely be back!!

Let me start by saying I have never liked Deep Dish Pizza. It is almost always soggy and more cakelike than any of the thin crust pizzas I love. My other half wanted me to try the deep dish here. It is WONDERFUL. An artisan style crust that somehow remains chewy and crusty with the toppings. We also shared something called Guiseppe's Nutty Salad. It consisted of baby spinach, candied pine nuts, pancetta, warm crusted goat cheese, strawberries, pineapple and a basalmic dressing. Plenty large enough for two to share. It was delicious. If I was making this at home, I'd skip the pineapple, but that is just my personal taste, and maybe substitute fresh pear. This is an unpretenious little place in a strip mall. It has an inviting patio with a view of the mountains. Our waiter was attentive and we had excellent service.

Maybe the pies are good but ill never go back to find out. *music was so loud we could hardly hear each other * asked 3 time to turn on tennis on one of the 3 tv's only to be told it came on later. Impossible because it was on all day *gried calamari was 3 stars. Not the small pieces but about 7 large ones - bummer * the pasta I ordered was like oatmeal. Over cooked by about 10 minutes * the pesto was more salt than anything * the bread was some sort of whole wheat with an unidentified herbal flavor - very forgetful. A complete disappointment.

Dined w/ family on 12/26. They were able to seat 8 of us quickly on the Fri evening of a holiday weekend, which was great since we had 3 generations ranging in age from 4 to 76. Service was attentive, and everyone enjoyed their food, from very good soups to kids' pastas to meat and seafood entrees. I rarely find mashed potatoes to be good or bad; theirs was excellent. All in all, place to bring family or friends.

The best food and service ever!! I love this place! Not only is it absolutely delicious but, the people working there are so warm and fabulous! I won't go anywhere else for pizza or pasta!!! And the lunch specials are so great! The Chicago beef sandwich is to die for!! Love, love it!

I've had pasta here twice and it was great. I got alfredo, and it was not greasy, didn't separate at all. The vegetables were a trifle overcooked but I was happy with it. And the bread they serve is delicious. But I just ordered a Chicago-style pizza and it was pretty bad. I don't understand these people who like it. The crust was way, way too chewy and kind of greasy and it was seriously the worst-quality feta cheese I've ever had in my life. Totally flavorless. Also, the menu says the small is 9" and there's no way that thing was 9". I waited tables and served pizza for years and that was 6" or 8" tops. Also peculiar was that the menu online says it comes in "9 squares" but I got a tiny round pizza cut into four pieces. I was expecting a small but not an "individual" sized pizza. Very disappointing. And although my pasta dish was tasty, my waitress didn't offer me any crushed black pepper although she offered it to the German tourists sitting next to me. Priorities, lady. On the upside, virtually everyone who dines here is over 60 years old so if you're under 60, you'll feel young and glamorous.

Arugula salad amazing, Cesar salad ok wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy to much dressing it's a good dressing but just too much, 312 beer on tap is great. Calamari was perfect and delicious but not typical type more like fish sticks :/. They nailed it with the gluten free pizza! I got the joes special

Gluten free options! My sister and I came here on a recommendation from another guest at our hotel. We hadn't eaten a good dinner since arriving in Palm Springs and two days of drinking poolside in the sun left us needing something more substantial. I ordered the gluten free pizza margherita. It came out perfect: thin crispy crust, chunks of fresh salty mozzarella, sweet basil and layers of bright red tomatoes. I hadn't eaten pizza like this since Rome! They also had several salads and gluten free pasta. I highly recommend giving it a try!

Came here on a Sunday night. Its located in a nondescript strip mall. There is inside/outside seating. Inside, its a combo of a restaurant and bar area with plenty of TVs on the sports games. I must have dropped in around 7:30pm but this place was packed! Order the Bistro filet, Chicken Parmasean, and Cheesey Garlic bread. The garlic bread is served warm with warm marinara sauce. Easily some of the softest, tastiest bread I've had but I may be biased because I love marinara sauce. The filet was perfectly cooked medium-rare and I was surprised since most places tend to overdo it. The chicken Parm was okay, I'd probably avoid it next time. On another note, portions here are HUGE! If you aren't starving, one dish is share able and will leave you full. Love this fact. Only drawback here was service was slow. I was put in the corner even though I felt there was plenty of tables, and consequently, the servers didn't seem to notice me. I must have waited 15+ minutes until I flagged someone down to place an order. It took another 25+ minutes to get my food.

Let me start by saying I signed up for Yelp just so I could give this place a poor review. Also, I travel the world for work and eat at Michelin star restaurants as well as dives and the good ones have well prepared food and good service, this place had neither. Overall, the service was poor, food delayed and average when it finally arrived and the Server and Manager were indifferent to our plight with no attempt to assuage or fix the situation. In addition, the place seemed grungy and decor was terrible. (FYI if you want real deep dish pizza go to Chicago and when you compare it too what you get at Giuseppe's you will quit coming back). Please do yourself a favor and skip this place, we will do so on our next trip and make sure we tell as many folks as possible to do the same.

OK, Sunday Brunch, buy one get one half price with bottomless Champaign. Awesome deal! My previous reviews show that I didnt want to go, but worth a shot for the price. The bottomless Champaign found the bottom when our food was served. I ordered Eggs Benedict as its one of my favorite brunch meals. I told my friend I would not be surprised if the eggs were overcooked, got my plate, stuck a fork in the yolk and pulled it right out. It is what I expected, so no reason to complain. I would still love to have one of these amazing dinners I read on here but have not been lucky. 3 stars for price, I usually like to enjoy my brunch and have my Champaign as a after brunch business chat time, but didnt happen. I will end up here again and really try to enjoy myself and say, WOW, this place is AMAZING! Hopefully the time will come soon. Looking forward to it.

My man and I had just spent the day relaxing at the Sea Mountain Spa and we were originally looking for a Vietnamese restaurant. We are vegan and recently eliminated gluten from our diet, so our choices are limited. But on our way to the restaurant, we see Giuseppe's, with a big sign that says "Gluten free options". We just HAD to try it, and what a great idea that was! We had vegan, gluten free Bruschetta to start, then we had the gluten free pasta primavera. The portions are generous (a must for plant eaters, lol) and everything was delicious. Our waitress even made sure to double check with the chef that everything would be 100% vegan and gluten free. We were seated outside, the atmosphere was friendly and casual, this was a great way to end a wonderful day. I would recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want to sacrifice taste for healthy food.

Great place, great atmosphere. The first time I went, the service was a little slow. There weren't that many people there and there seemed to be a good amount of staff on, but we never knew who our server was. We had like 4 different people waiting on us. I ordered a pizza for take out later and not to be disappointed. It was delicious. The prices are a bit high, but it's worth it. Really good pizza. The Red Velvet cake was bland and not very tasty, a bit disappointing since it's my favorite. If you can look past the cost, it's a great place.

I've been here many times for a late lunch. Food and service normally above average in quality. Then I made the mistake of coming here for Brunch. The indoor dining room was about three-quarters full and my friend and I were seated in the only empty area. 10 minutes passed before I flagged the one waiter on the floor and asked if we could order. He left and returned in about 5 minutes. "Well are you ready?" he asked. I ordered the frittata. "You want the frittata?" echoed the waiter. I assured him I wanted the frittata. He frowned. I asked "Is something wrong with it?" "With what?" was his snappy response. "The frittata" I reminded him. "It's a frittata." He turned to my friend. My partner ordered a Chicago style pizza. The waiter grunted. "Pizza?" he asked. My friend confirmed his order. As the waiter was leaving I called him back. "Could I have the fruit instead of potatoes?" "Fruit?" I could have guessed his response. "Yes, Fruit." "With what?" 25 minutes our food was served. Cold. The waiter was in the middle of socializing with people at a nearby table. I couldn't get his attention. I complained to the manager on duty who was very understanding, apologized, and offered to reheat our food. He removed the pizza from the tab. He tried to explain that the waiter was normally "loved by everyone." The frittata was not a frittata ... the toppings were thrown on top of a pre-made disk of scrambled eggs. No cheese. No herbs. I won't be coming back for brunch and I will think seriously about returning for lunch. Very disappointed.

Great pizza!!!! Stopped in on a whim after just getting into town, our table enjoyed a think crust pepperoni & mushroom and a gluten-free veggie pizza as well as caprese salads. Everything was so good!!! As well as the mules & sangria! Would stop in again if wanting pizza in Palm Springs!!

Still my favorite food in town but have to say the last few times the service has been very bad. The waitress we had last night was just very unhelpful, rude, kept walking past our table without ever asking anything I had to finally stop her as she ran past if we could more water, then had to ask 3 different people for straws, she had someone else bring us our pizza and no one served it. They weren't even busy. I didn't catch her name because she never told us,but she was thin, orangey tan with a similar color hair up in a high small bun. She didn't even tell us to have a good night or ask how everything was.A lot of people I talked to have had the same experience, the time before that I had 5 different servers during a slow afternoon there were only 3 customers. I didn't even know who to tip I had so many different people coming to my table and all acting in a hurry. Before that I came in with my mom and grandma asked if we could have the booth but the snotty male host just told us no and offered no explanation as to why. Also they need new bread I've thought that ever since they've opened it's basically the worst bread and everyone who goes there has commented about it also the calamari is very strange and thick. I get they were trying to be different but it's just off putting. I hate to give this place a bad review but after my last few experiences I just have to say something, I prefer the old staff the newbies look like they only try to serve the older people that have money and ignore the younger crowd which is sad because we actually tip well because we are all in the customer service business ourselves. I'd give 5 stars for food but only 2 stars for service.

I did not try the pizza because it's Chicago style (deep dish) which I do not like. But I had the pasta. It was nothing special, especially for the price. I think pasta dishes that cost between $15 and $20 should be homemade pasta with excellent sauces. Otherwise, I can make better myself at home. This pasta was mediocre, overcooked and with an unimaginative sauce that could have come out of a can. The staff was friendly, if a bit forgetful (three requests for water before it came).

The food here is great. Very traditional. Portions are big, quality is good. We always leave here with a full stomach and then some. And don't hesitate to get specific with what you want. They are very accomidating. If you want great Italian, come here.

I can see where this place can get a bad rap. When we arrived the young hostess announced, "All I have is outside tables" even though 4 tables were open inside, supposedly "taken". Just when we thought we'd need intervention the manager came over, heard the silliness and seated us inside. When it's 100 degrees outside, inside is better. From there on, dinner was great. We had a delightful waiter, very attentive and friendly. The salad was cold with a delicious blue cheese dressing, house wine reasonable and my gluten-free pasta and meatballs quite tasty. We also ordered a pizza salad which went down well as did another pasta dish. The crowd around us seemed happy. So, we'll be back. Am thankful for that because our town needs lots of dining choices.

I really like this place. The food is good, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. What more could you ask? When you go there, you're likely to encounter one of the owners either at the host desk, behind the bar or waiting on your table - I think that really adds to the friendly atmosphere.

There are some great reviews of this restaurant, but I am truly baffled by them. The pizza was fine but the calamari was bland and I don't know what the caesar salad was dressed in but it was not caesar dressing. The wine list is blah, can't we have a few decent Italian wines added. And the service was servicable and nice enough, but would someone explain to me why everyone who works there is dressed so sloppy? The bartender (who apparently is the owner's son) was wearing wrinkled clothes and an untucked shirt. Apparently everyone just comes to work wearing whatever they were lounging around their house in and that's the uniform. It was bizarre.

Great local restaurant and when the weather is nice, sit outside. Crazy noisy inside but fun! House salad is the best in town - garbanzo beans, slivered red beets, nice light dressing - excellent! Pizza is realy good, as is every dish that I have had there. Busy so avoid the prime times or you will have to wait.

Four of us went to Giuseppe's on Monday evening at 7 PM. None of us had been there before. The place was crowded but we were greeted promptly and seated within a few minutes. The cocktails were exceptional. Our food orders included chicken parmigian, spaghetti carbonara, and lasagna. All entrees were good. The server was polite and attentive. We will definitely return and will also try the Cathedral City location.

Very average. Large portions. Ordered Caesar salad, seemed to be missing something in the dressing. If it were not for the anchovies, it would have had no taste. Bread is good. Thin crust Margherita pizza very blah -- needed to douse it with Parmesan to give it any taste. Service would actually be better if there weren't 4 separate ppl coming by to ask if everything is ok every 5 minutes.

Had my heart set on a pasta dinner for the 4th of July, decided to call in a take out order rather than sit down in the restaurant. Their message machine says they must be busy so please call back ( something I have experienced there before,,, no problem) , after the sixth call I decided they must be closed but are TOO INCONSIDERATE to leave this on a message machine. Very unprofessional ! The pizza is so so , worth the drive to Upper Crust .

Went for my wife's b-day with a large group of friends, they accommodated us easily....We had the calamari which was out of this world, hugh slabs of squid baby...never had it so good..deep dish pizza was great (maybe some more cheese on top would've been good) but to each his own....we had the best server ive come across in a looong time. Overall great experience, great ambiance, look forward to going back soon...Congrats to the owners,,,looks like they have another winner

Oh my! So delicious. We started with the garlic cheese bread which is definitely worth the calories and plenty to share. Then the asparagus. It really was a dish for one person but it was so good, I didn't want to share. It was toasty and just the right blend of olive oil and lemon juice. Finally - the Arrabiata. The basic marinara sauce was stand alone superb. The added spiciness was perfect. I know there are many choices in Palm Springs for restaurants, but we plan on coming back to Giuseppis every time we return to Palm Springs!

As I look back on my dinner the other night, what stands out is how nice the staff was (owners, servers, busser, other servers). The food was good and it was nice to see one can get good deep dish pizza in the desert. For being there mid-week and after 8pm, it was busy. I was impressed with the decor as they successfully pulled off not making you feel like you are not in a strip mall. I am looking forward to going back!

I had the piccata last night and it was just OK. It was not breaded and had lots of garlic on it. Was described breaded on the menu and no mention of garlic...hmmm. I find garlic is needed to give food flavor..this was overpowering the three small pieces. Seemed small for $17.00. I was hungry so my friend and I also ordered the calamari (which was good) we spent almost $60 bucks w tip and I left hungry. How does that happen with Italian food? This was my third time there. The first time I had Chicago style pizza...it was good...just not the same as Zach's in Oakland (probably the best I ever had). The second time I had the margherita pizza to go...not great..maybe it was the "to go" factor. I might give it one more try.

Amazing Chicago pie. Top two I've had in California. I've never had it in Chicago but I figure it's cheaper to drive the hundred miles from Los Angeles than fly to O'Hare. Plus, I believe it's a bit warmer and sunnier here in December. Again, I haven't been to Chicago in December.

Great workday lunch spot. Good prices & great food. Tried the 1/2 salad, 1/2 sandwich. Caesar salad was larger than expected & the plate was chilled. Don't know many places that chill their salad plates, so I had to point that out. Beef sandwich was delicious & bread tastes/looks homemade. You gotta try this place.

Great food, great atmosphere, decent prices. Service, really needs work...reception is not always very welcoming. Although we keep going back, wish the service was more consistent, and all staff acted as if they were happy to be there. There is even a server that is only nice to "most" people, as if she only tolerates some...

Robert Irvine should pay a visit to teach the owner about customer service. Tonight I ordered the Spaghetti and Meatballs entree for $18. My plate arrived cold, overcooked, and mushy. So I politely asked the waiter to provide me with some pasta cooked el dente. He sent the owner over to address my issue. He slid into the booth and about an inch from my face, condescendingly told me that nobody has ever, EVER complained about the food at Giuseppe's. He went on to explain that all of the restaurant's pasta is precooked, making it impossible to accommodate my request. I replied, "Well, if it isn't too much to ask, how about you boil some water and prepare some fresh el dente pasta for me?" Owner: "That would take another 15 minutes! Will you take penne?" I settled for linguine. A few moments later I was served a plate of overcooked Fettucine. BE FOREWARNED: The owner is no foodie, and he hasn't got a clue about hospitality. VISITORS -- DON'T DINE AT GIUSEPPES.

This is the little restaurant that can. Tucked away in one of many strip malls along Palm Canyon, this is a great find and one of those places that the locals have to tell you about. The staff is always friendly, seating is never an issue (though we generally make a reservation) and the food is always fresh and delicious. On our last visit we had the calamari as an appetizer, then Caesar salad, and two pasta dishes. We had a friend with us who spent a lot of time in Europe and her pasta compared favorable to that of the best European restaurants. An unassuming location, but great food - give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

Giuseppe's Pizza is our own little slice of Chicago in Palm Springs. Something I certainly never thought possible. The owners Joe and Ann are always warm & welcoming. They make you feel like you're a guest in their own home. The space is very contemporary, warm, & inviting. Even when its crowded which is almost every night you feel at ease. Now lets move on to the main event! The food. The Chicago deep dish pizza is the best! The tomato sauce is amazing, full of flavor, their are plenty of fresh toppings in the pie as well. All of the salads are good, as are the standard entree items. The eggplant Parmesan is wonderful indeed. if you want a real taste of Chicago then try Giuseppe's Pizza & Pasta.

I went out with family and friends for dinner; I was visiting from out of town The food was good - and we had a selection of pizza, pasta and fish. But when the waitress served me and my brother salmon, I noticed that his portion was twice the size. I looked at the waitress and asked if she noticed as well. Her reply was "Yes your piece is significantly smaller, but he's a guy and can handle a larger piece". So I guess I'm wondering if the waitress is sexist or just didn't realize that the person sitting next to me shouldn't have TWICE as much food for the same price. Needless to say, I won't be going back there again.

My boyfriend and I stopped in for a pizza & salad over the weekend of Sept 28th- we ordered their Nutty Salad which was delicious. We also ordered a large deep dish combination pizza..which was delivered to our table totally undercooked- with cold raw tasting sauce and cheese so sparce we had the waitress take it back to the kitchen to see if they might have forgotten it. They had suffered a power outage and we assumed this caused the pizza to be served the way it was. We were told, the ovens were gas, and the pizza was fine. We both had one bite out of our slices and returned the rest of the pizza. We paid our bill and left a generous tip to cover the ingredients for the pizza we left behind, thinking this was fair parting and still due to the power outage. While paying however the owner- I believe Joe- came out eating a slice of the pizza we had just refused and in a snide, mocking tone was telling his wife that he was having a piece of really great pizza knowing that we were the couple which refused the pizza since there were only two other tables being occupied. My boyfriend and I looked at each other and realized he has issues beyond serving terrible food and it wasn't worth engaging him any further. In reading the other reviews on this site..I would have to say the ones that are 4 & 5 start are probably drafted by themselves or ghost writers they have paid and all the ones with low stars are accurate based on diners experience. It is one thing to have sub par food but another to mock and treat paying customers the way he did...we love Palm Springs and will certainly never eat here or recommend this place again- can honestly say this is my first negative Yelp review and we will go so far as to dissuade anyone who inquires to not eat here.

This place has the best pizza in town and is run by the cutest family in the universe. If you are visiting Palm Springs you must make the time to stop by. Oh yeah, best caesar salad too!!

Me and my date came in for dinner last night 7/5/12. The service is great and so is the food. I had the lasagna and my date had the four cheese chicken penne. Whatever you do make sure that you have the chocolate gelato or the chocolate cake they are both wonderful and rich. They have a vast menu so anything you can think of they probably have. Can't wait for the next time.

A group of five of us went here for the first time last Saturday night. They were busy, but we were able to secure a last minute reservation. Everyone loved their dinners. We brought out own wine and just paid the corkage fee. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful, which is always a big plus. Our waitress was Sara, and she was excellent! We will be back for sure.

Last evening we took guest for a birthday dinner at Giuseppe's Pizza & Pasta restauant and had a terrible evening. For us it was the sixth time we tried this restaurant. The first three times we had pizza and like it. Six weeks ago we took ten family member for dinner and discovered that the pasta was over cooked. When i asked them why, they said that it was the way they cooked it. I said it is supposed to be al dente. I was then told that if i wanted it al dente i was told to tell the server. It just so happened that three of my guests are Italian and couldn't believe that the pasta was over cooked. So last night I went in to make a reservation and told them about the request I was suppoed to make for al dente. I was told tell the server. So when we order last night I told the server and was insistent. I was assured all would be fine. When i got my dish, the pasta was over cooked again and I said to take it back and refused an offer to try something else. Why...if that is the way they insist on cooking the pasta. The owener then came to our table and pulled his bully pulpit. He was rude and condecending and said he sells thousands of dished of pasta and i was the first one to complain. Apparently he didn't know about the ten of us complaining six weeks ago. When he went back inside the table around us commented on his bad behavior and agree with me that their past a was over cooked too, but said nothing. Needless to say we will not be going back and we will be very sure to not recommend this, in name only, Italian restauant. If they don't know how to cook pasta then they deserve to fold. He also wanted to charge me for a dish i didn't eat. I did not. A few days later i went into the restauant again thinking i would talk to them about this treatment because i want to have a restauraant in our neighborhood. Joe's wife sort of listented to me and again subtly put the blame back on me by continuing to say, "i am sorry you feel that way." Not this could be an issue in customer service or some other positive response. I guess this is the way they feel about customers and don't think they might have a problem with the food and certainly with any complaints they might receive. She also said, "this is a family buiness" many times. Is that supposed to exempt them from civilized behavior????

Okay, my mother wanted to go to the Palm Springs Giuseppe's for Mother's Day, so that's where we went. Again, not disappointed. The pizza was amazing and so was the pasta. It's the SAUCE! My father, mother and myself enjoyed everything we ordered, including their regular house salad with their own balsamic vinaigrette dressing. They have other salads to choose from. The owner introduced himself (very friendly) and the staff was very friendly as well. They also have a bar there, if you're wondering. Check out their website: cathedralcitypizza.com/m… . Apparently the first Giuseppe's they opened in the desert was in Cathedral City. Anyway, check it out if you live in the area or visiting!

What a great addition to Palm Springs. I have eaten here 3 times already, only had 1 issue and it was resolved to my stratification. I would suggest giving this restaurant a try.

Another great pizza Friday night. I love their crust ( I always get the thin crust not the Chicago) and sauce. Place is always packed, so build time in if you call in an order or just go and sit at the bar and have fun.

My wife and I came here a few weeks back while on vacation after it was reccomended by a friend. We went for a later dinner and were surprised that there was a line out the door at around 8:30pm. I guess we werent the only ones who had been told about this gem! We were promptly sat at the bar and ordered a bottle of Pinot. The bartender (Donnie) was quick to offer his suggestions and favorites. We ordered the Nutty salad, Calamari, and sausage chicago style pizza. First off, let me say that Donnie never let our glasses reach the empty point and for that we were grateful! The nutty salad was fantasic and my picky wife claimed it as one of her top 3. The serving size was huge and we easily shared. The next course was the calamari. Again the serving size was monsterous and the calamari was extremely fresh. I tried with all of my being to clean the plate, but had to tap out after finishing about 75%. I needed to save some room for the pizza and desert. The chicago style pizza came next and i plowed through 3 pieces even though I was full after 1! The sauce was delicious and the sausage has just enough kick to it. The crust was perfect as well. It had just enough crisp to the edges and chewy in the in the middle. Overall it was a very good meal. The prices were very reasonable and the serving sizes and quality were exceptional. It is a family run restaurant and the owners made a point to stop by each table and introduce themselves. We are headed back to PS this weekend for another weekend and will definately be making another stop at Guiseppe's.

How can this place have 4 stars? Seriously, this restaurant is an example of all that's wrong with pseudo-Italian establishments. First, no bread, you have to order it. Folks, it's not an Italian if it doesn't put on the table a decent bread. Giuseppe's bread is appalling: a soft, mushy blob. The same mushiness "highlights" the pizzas. Instead of a thin, crispy crust you get a chewy mess. Margherita toppings are a miss, too. We also ordered carbonara, which was OK but overly salty, and a captures salad, the best part of the meal. Service was good and that's the reason for the second star.

My friend and I had a really bad experience here. It not only took 25 minutes to place our order, but it took an additional 45 minutes to receive a half Caesar salad and small minestrone soup. Refills never came until the end, nearly two hours into the painfully long lunch. The salad was whatever. The soup was just no good. There was literally no salt or pepper, thus NO flavor, therefore I had to douse it with my own seasonings, and it was still lackluster. The service and food were so terrible I was unable to even leave the minimum tip, so we tipped below the minimum. The waiter was incompetent and slow even during a very slow FEW hours. I can't recall a single positive about the experience here and unfortunately that means I will not be returning.

The food is good. The ambiance is ok. The service is ehh? If your looking for a decent Italian meal for a decent price, this place will work. It's decorated cute but it's super small. There is a patio however? Don't forget to ask for bread if you indulge in such.

I've had dinner here a LOT of times because an elderly relative lives nearby and doesn't like to go far. I've always thought it's overpriced for the quality, but last week it was dreadful. The place was practically empty and the service was painfully slow. A 45 minute wait to get an order of ravioli, lasagna, and a salad. The salad was actually the last to arrive. The owners weren't there, and the hostess spent the entire time texting with her friends, then the waitstaff hung around the hostess stand just talking and laughing. I had ordered the Tuscan chicken salad. There was an obviiously reheated and dried out chicken breast cut in little pieces, thrown hot into the salad so that the lettuce was wilted. It was supposed to have artichoke hearts and roasted red pepper, but it had 2 little pieces or artichoke and no peppers, but some heated up cherry tomatoes instead. This is a $14.00 salad. The lasagna looked as if it had been standing under a heat lamp for a very long time, lopsided and smothered in sauce that was brown and dried out around the edges. A friend was there the following night and had the same experience with horrible service when the restaurant was nearly empty. He said neither owner was there so I don't know if the staff just does what they want when owners aren't there or what.

Server seemed kind of pushy like rushing us to make a decision. My wife asked for a coke and when she got it it was flat. He made no effort to at least see if he could fix the problem. The food is good, okay. Ranking not based on food but on service. The price is decent, fair and the specials are cool. But one server? No one at the door to great you? Lame ass 60's 70's music? Ho Hum...

I will make this short and sweet... Hands down, this is the BEST pizza in Palm Springs!!! Order your pizza Chicago style and enjoy the yummy-ness that is about to unfold!! My personal favorite is the deep dish vegetarian with sausage! Out of this world!!!! The fresh, homemade sausage doesn't get any better!! Service is excellent; very friendly and helpful. Go check it out, you won't be disappointed!!

"Ugh, I feel sick." That's what we said after just two slices each. I guess there is no such thing as a free lunch. You see a friend had given us a gift card to Giuseppe's, and we were really excited to go. The yelp reviews were good and the word of mouth around town is good, but something about the pizza just isn't sitting well on our stomaches. We had our misgivings as soon as we opened the box. We ordered the Joe's Special Pizza which is pesto sauce, sausage, onions and peppers. But what they don't tell you is the pizza is also covered with copious, and I do me copious, amounts of tomato sauce. We scrapped most of that off, but the tomato and pesto sauces did not play well together. And strangely, although the pizza was pipping hot, the cheese was a quarter inch thick cold blob of a disk on the pizza crust. It just was bad. Now to be clear, we didn't get food poisoning, but we both have pretty strong indigestion. I really do hope the rest of the food here is good, and we honestly don't know since we only had one item on the menu, but it was really not good. So instead of one star I'm giving it two for my optimism. Oh well, at least it was 'free.'

I've been told we came on an 'off night'. I'm sure this place can perform very well under different circumstances. Friends took us to this restaurant which is clearly a neighborhood favorite as the place was packed. Luckily we had a reservation and were sat right away, however the service was pretty awful, slow, forgetful and a little sassy. The food was pretty good, but most Italian places run mediocre on my taste radar. I prefer Birba downtown much better.

3 stars - not 4 ... and the food isn't the issue. Waiting for a take-out pizza, the bartender was so overworked on a busy Saturday night that it took about 15 minutes to get served. Immediately our pizza was ready as well. Guiseppe's is a nearby location and the food always quite good; their pizzas have developed since opening this location. The trouble is always with the waitstaff - there's not enough waiters/waitresses at peak times to handle the crush. Being that the owner is expanding into other restaurants and locations, there's one simple rule to running a restaurant: Service is everything! Nobody should have to be seated at a table for longer than 5 minutes without attention (I've done it here many times, much longer) nor stand at a busy bar for 15 minutes while the one and only bartender scrambles like a madman to keep up with the demand. Dude, you're making a lot of money off this joint. Staff it !

Very close to our resort and had recommendation from friends who were here several months ago. Very crowded for a Thursday night, which was a good sign! The antipasto was fresh, crispy and delicious. The classic combo pizza (thin crust) was perfectly seasoned, piping hot and the toppings were delicious. The chicken piccata was good but not lemon-y enough. But still it was tender, and the portion was good. The service was excellent. There was never a used empty dish on the table for long or an empty water glass. Our server was very polite and friendly. Our only complaint, for lack of a better word, was that there was way too much time between salad and entrees--like at least 45 minutes. At least our food was fresh and hot. Will definitely come back, but probably when it's not so crowded.

Hey came.here because of good reviews. Service so so, but busy. I could deal with that. But when my lasagna came out warm on the edges and still cold.in the center, I found this a problem. Asked to have it warmed. They nuked it !!! No offer to replace it. No offer free meal or discount. They didn't even clean the edges.of the plate. REALLY!!!. When I tried to speak with management could not find anyone to talk to.

We were on vacation, without a reservation, and very hungry. The place was very busy on a Saturday night but we were seated with our 4yr old son promptly. The service was brisk and friendly. The pizzas were fantastic. The pasta primavera was a little bland but it's prob supposed to be that way. The joe's special pizza was really good even though it was a little wet at first. We were very happy with our experience and they saved our evening. I would recommend this great Chicago style place and would return if I'm ever in town.

Was in Palm Springs for Vacation and excited to see this place located just down the street from our place. At first I was not sure what to think about when we brought home the pizza from Giuseppe. We ordered a large pizza with pepperoni, Green peppers and Sausage. We started at it for a little bit. Looking at the square slices in front of us. Slowly, piece by piece, started to disappear. it was fantastic. I folded each square like a little slice of new york pizza (sorry chicago guys) and each bite was great. We also ordered the garlic bread, which was in pizza form. When you hope for garlic bread on an italian loaf, this was a little disappointing, but was still delicious. Later in the week during our stay, we were craving pizza again, and went back!

I just had the most horrible dining experience in some time. Here is why 1. Ordered a Mai Tai. All I received was a bright green glass of mostly sour mix. A Mai Tai consists of dark rum, almond syrup, lime juice, and orange liquor. Pretty simple 2. Partner ordered an old Fashioned. Nasty as well. 3. When I sent back Mai Tai, I asked for a glass of house red. Received wine in a much smaller wine glass than everyone else in restaurant, including my partners. I guess that bartender showed me! 4. Partner ordered a glass of wine. I watched as bartender poured the wine, then fished something out of glass with straw, poured wine into another glass and then served it. Kind of strange. It's a glass of house wine.....if something is in the glass, pour a new glass. 5. Food was not bad, just bland. I had chicken parm and partner had eggplant parm. Everything needed more garlic. Bread served was burnt, almost black on top. Portions were good and prices moderate. Get a real bartender and jazz up the food and this place might survive. I for one will not return.

Although we've been here many times and enjoyed each time, tonight we found the pasta to be average, though the pizza very good. We were surprised to find a $12 corkage fee for the wine we brought though nothing on the menu warned us of the cost. When our server was asked, he only said next time ask for me. Sorry, but even a free desert might have lessened the $12 surprise!

FOOD: 4th time here mostly because their Caesar salad is THE BEST we've ever had and we have never been disappointed with any of the food. GREAT flavor and it seems they only use the finest ingredients. We will always come back. Super great lunch deals too! The salad and slice of pizza is superb!!! SERVICE: That's where this place could REALLY use improvements. This last time we were there, there were only two girls working, one was super nice and the other, not so much. The one that was super nice, seemed to be doing all the work, while the other flirted with the male customers and was rude to us, saying that we could sit at a table that we preferred, but if a "larger crowd" came in, we would be asked to move in the middle of our meal?! - keep in mind that the "high season" is now near the end and we were there 45 minutes after the big lunch crush so, what "crowds"? The table was better suited for us, because we are both disabled. The previous time we were there, there were two VERY accommodating men working and could clearly see that we had trouble sitting or standing so we needed the tables that were out of the way and seemingly sturdier. So, to that young VERY bleached blonde, uncaring girl with the big earrings, wearing a red, open 3/4" sleeve top with a black tank, you should take note! You have left me NO choice but to give this place 3 stars instead of FIVE!

Stopped by last night with husband. Loves the beer and bread, nutty salad, and Chicago style pizza with meatballs and red peppers. Pizza was so flavorful! Only drawback was feeling ignored by hostesses when we walked in. They were busy chatting with bartender. Had to wait awhile to get order taken and to get check. Would still go back for the yummy food!

    (4)
  • Dan P.

Ok food, tight fit but nice atmosphere at the bar, good wine pour, but after my third visit, i simply will not return. The hostesses had no observable reason to be rushed, with 80% of the place empty, but they acted as if 4 walk-in's for a 5:30 seating was a huge problem if we did not have a reservation. They served us some middle-of-the-road food and then started whisking plates away and asking if we wanted boxes before we done, and even while i had some pizza in my hands. There's no way to legislate against rude behavior, but there is a way to respond to it. We won't see you later.

  • Eric H.

My new favorite pizza! Get the pepperoni deep dish, one bite and you're addicted... Needs more shade from afternoon sun in the outdoor seating area but that's a small price to pay for this pie! If they add more shade then I would give it 5 stars.

Wow. What a difference a day makes. Giuseppe's went from a place I was just starting to consistently send resort guests to vs. a place I'll never step foot in again. Where do I start? I especially liked Giuseppe's because I know the family that owns and runs it and I have never had a bad meal (Cathedral City or once visit before in PS). I wanted this to be my go to place because of it's great location and ease of use. The food was always OK (not stellar) and I like the atmosphere. Less than one week ago I sent a regular resort guest here (I've known them for 3+ years and over 50 room nights in those three years) and they found a hair in their food. OK, so this is really no big deal--stuff like this just happens folks and it's not the end of the world. The problem was how the owner responded, just short of accusing them of putting the hair in the food themselves and, after a lot of embarrassment and awkwardness, an apology came as a credit to the bill--not what the guest even cared about by the time the credit was issued. The damage had already been done. Two nights ago, I was scheduled to meet two business associates before a meeting, for a very early dinner (4:30-5:30pm). The restaurant had a total of 16 guests (incl the bar). I stood in front of the owner at the stand for five minutes and he never once looked-up at me during his extended telephone call. I finally sat at the bench in front of the stand, waiting for him to get off the phone so I could get a table. About 12 minutes into this, another couple comes in, he interrupts his call to help them, and then goes back to his call totally ignoring me--I'M SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM & HE KNOWS ME. (Insert joke about me here) Being treated disrespectfully in any business is inexcusable on the part of the business. I was willing, and eager, to give Giuseppe's my business, and they blew it big time. This is truly unfortunate because there is potential.

I'm a huge fan of deep dish and this place gets extremely close to how it's done in Chicago. The staff is friendly. We typically hang out at the bar while placing a to go order. The bar tender is very nice and we always end up making friends with our fellow neighbors. If they keep this up we'll be customers for life.

My favorite is their chicago pizza. They have the best sauce for sure. Also , their calamari is the best. Nice , thick, and great batter. The air conditioning was a little cold when we were there but we got up and moved away from the vents. Always, a good place to go. Varied menu.

Very good Italian. The pasta was cooked perfect al dente. Even on a Saturday night in August, it was packed. The salads looked great and so did the Chicago style pizzas. Looking forward to trying more!

This is the best part of the trip. It was right across from our hotel and we were hot and tired and just wanted a simple dinner. They were having a summer special three courses for under 20 dollars and they had plenty of choices a good portion of the menu was available to choose from I got the garlic cheese bread hot bubbly cheese nice spicy dipping sauce and great garlic flavor followed by a wonderfully seasoned Spaghetti Puttanesca just the right amount of capers and anchovies beautifully done and finished off with a nice tart lemon sorbet. My husband got the calamari crispy and fresh tasting perfectly cooked followed by and finished with vanilla gelato. We also splurged on the best deep dish pizza crispy crust chewy and perfect you've got to get this pizza!!! Plus the owner is awesome he so friendly and makes sure things are going well I loved it here and highly recommend it this will become a must stop on palm springs weekends

Went there last summer with my husband, mom, sister, 4-year old nephew and 6-month old daughter. We were trying to get in an early dinner (around 5:30 I think). We walked in and despite only one table being occupied, they said that the only table available to us was outside on the patio (in the crushing desert heat). It was quite obvious that they didn't want us in their restaurant (even though our kids were being perfectly quiet and well behaved... If we didn't think they could handle a dinner out then we would have just ordered in pizza). After politely asking them why the patio was the only thing available, they just mumbled to each other and said that was it. We left, humiliated, and ended up eating a delicious dinner at an Indian restaurant, Monsoon. I can't comment on the food quality, but I can honestly say that I've never been treated so poorly at a restaurant in my life.

This is definitely the best Italian restaurant in the Palm Springs area. I went with some friends and, even on a Tuesday out of season, we needed to book. And, having had the food, I can see why. Absolutely superb!! We went with the $19 prix fixe menu and shared the appetizers and deserts. A return trip is on the cards - in fact, this will become one of my regular eateries and, when my partner returns in October, we will be visiting often. And it's just a stone's throw away from Ralph's so you can even do your grocery shopping after your meal. A definite 5 stars!

08/05/12 Yesterday was my first time eating here and by no means, my last. i frequent palm springs and i cannot wait to come back. Its a very smart looking establishment so walking in with 4 children under the age of 15, i got worried we were going to be snubbed... OPPOSITE ! I want to rate this place like this; Jorge- he was our server and the reason i am yelping this. He was easily one of the best waiters i've ever experienced. Friendly, funny, and very attentive. he made our experience really enjoyable. Pizza- I ordered the Chicago style meat pizza and it was beyond delish!! it was really good and i recommend this placee to anyone who wants an authentic style Chicago pizza with friendly service. LOVE IT

My new favorite Italian place in the desert, and I don't eat Italian out because "I make it better at home". We have been here several times. My boyfriend likes the plain old spaghetti and meatball and shakes it up sometimes with the pasta vongole, perfect wine sauce with clams... I prefer the pasta pescatore in red sauce. Even though I would probably prefer my fish and shellfish not to be cut into uniform pieces, the sauce and fish are so perfect, I can overlook this. I also like their nutty salad as starter, nice touch with real bacon bits and fresh strawberries. We are not big Chicago pizza fans, so cannot even comment on that. Yes, I agree, sometimes the owner and help can be very "upfront". The place is so busy ALL of the time, and they have bad nights, I have seen it first hand. But they also have no problem treating the rude jerk at the bar how he/she needs to be treated. It is real Italian food, priced right...with a real Italian family running the place, with a passion for the restaurant business.

We first discovered Giuseppe's a year and a half ago when we were vacationing in Palm Springs. The hotel recommended it and we have been thinking about going back the next time we were here. This time we went with our little girls and they lived it too.

Get a pizza! So cozy and cute. I don't get all the hating on this place- losers, stay home and order Domino's and save us happy folks the heartache of reading another terrible review! The food was great (one of the best pizzas I've had in Palm Springs), great atmosphere, it's cheap so I wasn't expecting a lot with the service, but they were super nice, and very friendly staff!

There should be pizza like this in Orange County (but there isn't). We weren't very hungry, but we really wanted to try the pizza here, so we just got a cheese deep dish pizza. I wish we were local to the area so we could have had a fridge at home for leftovers, because it almost pained me not to be able to finish it all. This is the sort of taste I've been looking for since we left the East Coast. The warm bread is also really good. The service was a little slow, but we were there near closing time. We saw the owner wandering around chatting with customers, and he really seemed to enjoy his work. We would probably be regulars here if we lived nearby. Come to Orange County, Giuseppe's--we need more good pizza here!

Really good! We tried a variety of dishes, and they were all excellent. The spaghetti with bolognese sauce was complex and had a lot of meat. The fettucine alfredo with chicken had a pronounced delicious garlic flavor. The cheese pizza was a great choice for the kids. The crust was crisp and the pizza had the right ratio of cheese to sauce that we like. I also had a very good glass of pinot noir. I'm coming back the next time I'm in Palm Springs!

Walk in to Giuseppe's and walk in to another world...you'll quickly forget you're at a restaurant in a strip mall. Someone spent some money rehabbing the space and turned it in to a really cute little restaurant. There's a full bar, a few booths and a large outdoor patio. The space is warm and inviting with a buzz thats not too loud. Frank Sinatra was playing and a nice volume so you could hear it but it wasn't overpowering. I had a caesar salad and pasta with garlic and olive oil. The caesar was nothing special, tasted like dressing from a bottle with a garlic kick tossed with romaine and croutons. Totally run of the mill. I ordered the pasta with garlic and olive oil and the pasta was cooked perfectly al-dente. I ordered this dish at the Red Tomato the other day and wanted to compare it. The garlic was totally overwhelming but the sauce with the red peppers, olives and mushrooms after the first garlic hit was good. The portion was huge and I ended up eating the whole thing! I would say the food is average to above average but the service and ambience are excellent. I'm willing to put up with mediocre food if its a great, fun place where the people who work there seem to care. It may have been what I ordered and I'm definitely going again to try something different. Don't hesitate, go and try it...better than the other Italian restaurants around.

Looking for pizza close to home we checked Yelp for recommendations. We were originally considering a place near the airport but changed to Giuseppe's based on the strength of the reviews. Also, the parents have been here before so it was a safe bet. We did not have reservations when we arrived approx. 6:00 on Wednesday night. I'd recommend making reservations no matter when you're going. The place is small so seating is limited. There was a tiny bit of confusion at the hostess stand but they were finally able to seat us. The server was extremely friendly so absolutely no issues with the service. The menu contained the typical Italian fare. Dad wanted pizza but doesn't like deep dish (say what?!) so he got a regular crust pizza with mushrooms, onions and sausage. I ordered pasta carbonara. Mom ordered a small Caesar salad and chicken piccata. Hint on the Caesar salad: even the small size is pretty large. Three of us shared and it was plenty. First came the bread. A warm sourdough-looking loaf that was actually a rosemary bread. Delicious dipped in olive oil. 4 stars. The caesar salad was fantastic...4 stars. I tried the pizza which I thought was pretty good...Dad gave it a 4. My carbonara was ok but the sauce wasn't rich enough (I like the thick creamy sauces) and the pancetta was scarce...3 stars. I didn't taste the piccata but Mom rated it 3+. The overall experience was pretty good and I love supporting the neighborhood joints so I'd go again. When we left the dining room and outside patio were packed so it's obviously a local favorite.

We hit this place at least once every time we are in the desert, which is about once a month. Whether you are dinning in or taking out, it is all consistantly good. Their casar salad is real good. Pizza has good sauce and their entree dishes are all good too. Pizza comes in thin or Chicago style. It is nice having this restaurant in South Palm Springs and not in the downtown area where all the tourists and challenging in parking. They also have one in Cathedral City too.

What a great place! Tucked away in a corner of a strip mall. Great food and very friendly staff. I've always found a place at the bar to eat - so no worries for me about waiting for a table. It always seems busy, so that should be a testament to their menu. Try the Joe's special pizza - pesto in place of marinara sauce. Excellent! I'll be back.

While vacationing in Palm Springs we were looking for a place the 'locals" would eat & stumbled across Giuseppe's. Sinatra piped into the background, outdoor dining was perfect and the food was tasty! Our server George was great! He was very attentive, the food came quickly and was modestly priced. I recommend the Bruschetta - served with toasted pita and chalked full of warm tomatoes and LOTS of garlic. Overall, a lovely evening and a great find.

We went here on a Thursday night at about 7 PM and the restaurant was almost full. There was no wait though for us to sit. The party was my wife, our daughter (3 yrs old) and her friend (also 3 yrs old). The host set us at an empty table, and asked about drinks. My wife and I got the Iced Tea, and the girls both got Lemonade. The Iced Tea was pretty standard, and the girls didn't complain about the Lemonade's, so I assume they were good as well. The menu was 5 or 6 pages with various items from Appetizers/Soups to Pizza and Pasta. If I went here more often I could see myself taking a pretty good amount of time to pick what I wanted, but I saw a picture of the Chicago Style Pizza on-line, so I knew what I was getting before I even walked in... My wife wasn't as sure, and she was torn between two Pasta options. She ended up going with the Spaghetti Bolognese. I ordered the Chicago Style All Meat, and we got the girls a thin crust Cheese Pizza to share. We also ordered some Cheesy Garlic Bread and a bowl of Minestrone for my wife. The first thing to come out was a Bread Basket with butter. The Bread also had Rosemary infused in it. Everyone at the table loved the bread, the girls even ate their slices. Out next was the Cheesy Garlic Bread, this bread was actually so good that my wife ordered a second helping so that she could dip it in her Spaghetti. Seriously good stuff. The Minestrone arrived for my wife soon after the bread, and it was OK. I wouldn't order it again, but it wasn't bad. The main courses then started to arrive, with the Cheese Pizza coming first. The girls each had a slice, and my wife and I shared a slice as well. It was very good, and the cheese had an excellent flavor. The Chicago Style came out next, and I scarfed down half the pizza, and was absolutely pleased with it. It was excellent. The final Main course was the Spaghetti for my wife. She loved it so much that she wanted to bring some back to the hotel to share with the people we were staying with. Then she loved it so much that she actually brought the rest of it home in the cooler with us so it didn't go to waste. Pretty sure she is a fan for life :) Overall, I would strongly recommend trying this place out if you are in the Palm Springs Area. It was the best food we had while down there, and it wasn't even all that close.

The food here was fantastic! We made reservations and were seated promptly upon arrival. The asparagus was so tasty! The carbonara was made with quality ingredients. The manager stopped by neighboring tables, including ours, to check on our experience. Extremely excellent service!

Our family only does take out and that is only when we want a Chicago deep dish pizza. My wife is from Chicago and ever once in awhile we have a craving for the Chicago style. Overall the pizza is good but sometimes disappoints based upon who is in the kitchen. The crust is favorable and finished with garlic and butter. The sauce is the traditional crushed tomato sauce which for a Chicago pizza is a must. The only downside is that the pizza is a little pricy but that is common for Chicago style pizza. We are not fans of their thin crust or their dinner entrees. If you are looking for simple and affordable Italian food than go to The Slice in Rancho Mirage (see review) Cheers

My husband and I have come here at least 30+ times and have never been dissappointed. Always deserves 5 stars. We love the Mushroom Ravioli, Veal Marsala, Caprese Salad and pizza the most, but everything is good. Love the owners, too. Whenever we get into town, the first thing we do is to make a reservation. I guess everyone else feels the same, sometimes we can't get in.

Wow! A hip little place with Chicago Deep Dish AND a full bar - in the middle of the desert? Could it be a mirage? Well, it was quite hot over the weekend. (126 degrees to be exact) I could have been going delirious. Seems Chicago style deep dish pizza is hard to come by here on the West Coast. Maybe our water is too clean (or too dirty), maybe we just don't have what it takes.... Giuseppe's changed my mind, and I'm quite sure they will change your mind too. This place is fabulous! We ordered half meat special and half vegetarian - (No joke, twenty something dollars...http://giuseppes-pizza.com/index.php/menu) That's quite a low price for such a thick, juicy, meaty pie....sinfully rigid crust - strong enough carry the weight of all that meat.... and a sultry, hot, rich red sauce smothering and soaking into crevices... Oops, sorry.... its a family place. Must have been the KILLER mojito I drank while I waited for the pie. I'd make the drive back... hell, I'd walk back from L.A. to get another pie and mojito. Way to go, you guys @ Giuseppes!!! Bartender, you're awesome!

Another great dinner at Giuseppe's. Jorge our waiter was attentive and never made us feel rushed. Palm Springs doesn't have the greatest service but Jorge will restore your faith that there are still great servers out there. Our Arugula salads were perfectly dressed. The Carbonara was one of the best, if not the best, I've ever had. My partner had the awesome Chicken Picata. For dessert we shared their home made Tiramisu which again the best we've ever had. We've eaten all over the country and Giuseppe's ranks right up there with having the best food!!

I am obsessed with searching and looking at reviews for places to eat while traveling on vacation. So, I did a little research and Giuseppe's was highly rated and I thought we would to take a chance. Great Choice! The food was outstanding. The Caesar salad was in my top 5 all time and I order it every where. The Margarita Pizza was very light and refreshing. The deep dish Chicago style (meat with no onions) works can't describe all I can say is" I get it now." So this little hole in the wall is a must. Take my word this is worth it. I opened a Yelp account just to come on to give my first review because I felt the urge to spread the message. Sincerely Mr. Seattle PS. I thoroughly enjoyed that my Seahawks killed the Chicago bears the day we at here. It was icing on the cake.

We have been here 3 times, and have been pleased each time. The food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the crowd is lively (what you would expect for a good Italian restaurant - right?). Plus - I left my iPhone and the staff saved it for me - Thanks Giuseppe's!

Rated this 5 stars before as food was great but last time I was in for lunch on a Friday I asked for the soups of the day and the waitress mentioned it was a potato/chicken soup when it was brought out It really looked like something out of a Campbell's can and the worst part it was all broth the 3 pieces of chicken and potato were just tiny bits left from the bottom of the pot I guess. The waiter was nice he mentioned he was new so I guess I'll let it pass that bread wasn't brought to the table till we were done for lunch. Don't like leaving negative reviews but I was highly disappointed this time.

I love this place! It's a little hidden, but the decor is pretty, and it's always busy. The wait staff is helpful, and prompt. The gluten free crust is perfect, and cooked just the right amount of time. Everything tastes fresh, not frozen. My only criticism is their sauce is little on the sweet side, which I don't prefer, other than that, this place is amazing.

We come here for pizza. They have the best Chicago style deep dish pizza I know of. We have eaten here every time we have come to the desert I have had a green salad too, which was also very good. The ambiance was nice and we have always had good service.

Giuseppe's pizza is the BEST! We like the new Palm Springs location, it's larger and has a full bar. We always order the extra large pizza's so we have some to reheat in our oven for leftovers and we like Giuseppe's pizza right from the oven! This family from chicago knows how to cook authentic chicago style pizza and pasta! I took my brother-in-law from Chicago here and it was a slam dunk. He loved it. I have started using them to cater all my events too. Hungry? Go here. You won't regret it! The Family is so nice, helpful and friendly. Dinning room is nice with new tables, booths with black and white old Chicago photos. Relaxing, casual and comfortable.

THE WORST!!! Not sure where all the great reviews are coming from but I trust Yelp to find great places to eat and this place was horrible! DO NOT ORDER TAKE OUT FROM HERE! Ordered the chicago house special pizza and crispy calamari for take out. The pizza was inedible...too salty and otherwise no flavor. Love calamari but this was soagy and coated with breading, didn't even look like calamari and def not crispy...Gross! I have NEVER written a review but after wasting $35(expensive for pizza but wouldn't matter if it was good) I feel I should take the time and warn others. I have used Yelp lots of times w/ great recommendations. Listen, I am hardly a picky eater...but I didn't even finish one slice!!! That's a first for me! This pizza was so disgusting I should have taken it back but I was crunched for time and hate returning things...so don't waste your money!

We're in Palm Springs on vacation and the restaurant we were headed to was closed, so we walked around this strip mall and found Giuseppe's it was really crowded on a Sunday night and we were hungry so we decided to ask the wait time and make our decison. Then we stepped inside and it smelled so amazing that we knew we couldn't leave! EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious! We ordered a nutty spinach salad with strawberries and pineapple, cheesy garlic bread, and arrabiata with sausage. The salad was so good! We're only here a few days but I'm thinking we'll be back to try their Chicago style pizza and have some more of that salad!!

Mozzerrella sticks were too dark (over fried) and cold. Salmon was fishy and dry (overcooked). Iced tea was good. Ambiance is nice. Late lunch cost 45 for two. Should have cost 25. Those numbers are before the tip. Service was good. Probably wont go again. Overpriced barely acceptable food in a restaurant trying to be much more than it is. Sorry.

When NYPD blew up in our faces, ordered pizza and sides from here. It was a truly good pizza and reasonably priced for not being fast food. My dining companion and I had the vegetarian pizza which has an excellent crust. The service was friendly and the food was ready when promised, which rally good since they were packed with film festival revelers. We have probably found our new go to for pizza take out.

I used them for catering my Rehearsal dinner in Palm Springs. I actually booked them 2 weeks before the event, and my choice was based on that there wasn't really any other affordable choices in Palm Springs that would be able to deliver, and bring their own chafing dishes. It actually turned out great for my last minute choice. Joe, the manager, came with the server on time. The food was great, everyone was raving about it The server was very nice and helped clean up at the end. I highly recommend them if you need an affordable caterer.

Small, stylish Italian pizza and pasta restaurant. They have the best house salad dressing that I crave and their Chicago pizza is to die for! They say the best things come in small packages and this is no exception (although the portions are not small by any means). Love this place ~ Yum!!!

This place is awesome! My husband and I first discovered this place by accident. We were walking around Palm Springs and (at that time) I was craving really good authentic Italian pizza. Just around the corner from Ralph's, I could swear I could smell just that - pizza. So we walked around the plaza and there in frown of us was Giusseppe's. It has been our place since we've been coming to Palm Springs. THey have great Chicago Style-deep dish pizza (don't get that anymore because I'm changing my eating habits and started competing but delicious! Another option is thin-crust, sos thin you'd think it's paper and just ask for easy on the cheese and sauce and you're better off (calorie-wise). They also have a great Greek salad ... just don't have too much dressing ... a touch is enough. I don't drink so, not sure about their bar or drinks. Their chicken and asparagus - WOW, so good! Just avoid a lot of the seasoning and butter, and salt. I give this place 2 hands up. Great, wonderful and can't leave without visiting. Also, Giusseppe is an awesome guy! We met him our first time, he came out to ask us how our food was when we were having the Chicago-style and since then we always talk. He even brought our food out to us the other day. Made sure we were happy. Great service, food and everything. No wonder it's so busy and btw, they have an outside patio with a mister; out of this world! Great waitresses, friendly and they take care of you no matter what your food preferences are :-) Thank you.

We love Giuseppe's!! It's our all time favorite Palm Springs restaurant just outside of the crazy, crowded downtown scene! Try the bruschetta for starters. It's our favorite! The owners, Joseph and Susan, run the restaurant with their children. They go out of their way to make sure everyone is enjoying the food and having a good time! So far, we haven't had a dish we didn't find unique and delicious!! The only concern we have is that the locals have been spreading the word!! Even in the middle of August, this place was packed!! Guess we'll have to start making reservations!

  • Sara T.

The food here was amazing! The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because the service is super slow, we had to ask for bread like 6 times and finally got it after we were finished eating. The food came out slow and the waitress was not very attentive despite it not being super busy. But the quality of the food is so amazing that it makes up for everything. We had the fried ravioli and the bruschetta for appetizers which were both amazing and the fried ravioli were filled with fresh ricotta. The bruschetta came with garlic flat bread which though by appearance did not convey the flavor. I had the chicken piccata which was probably the best I've ever had. All in all it was a great experience.

Just moved here to the Desert and heard some things about Giuseppe's and decided to give it a try. Worst dining experience in the 3 months I have been here. Spoke to the owner about my experience and all he did was rant and rave about how smart he and his wife are and how much better their business is than other local business'. Well, as a new business owner to the desert, I can honestly say I will NEVER go back and I will not send them business. According to him, they will be just fine and are doing very well and things right. WRONG!!!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
