Delicious iced coffee did the trick on a hot lazy day

This place isn't too shabby. I like the fact that they take credit card and they don't use MSG (although, arguablly, that is what makes Pho). The manager is very nice. The prices are a bit higher than the average bowl of pho, this may be because they accept credit cards though. I'd head back here as I enjoyed what I had (shrimp and beef combo pho).

big parking lot but gets full during lunch. plenty of tables. They let your split your order when you order so going with a group or coworkers is a breeze. they have Pad Thai?!? and they accept Visa!

I have used Yelp for a long time, but this is my first time writing a review. This place is simply so bad, that I felt the need to warn anybody that thinks of coming here for a bowl of Pho. My girlfriend and I just ordered lunch here today. I was excited to see that they offered Oxtail on their menu, and expecting a flavorful and wonderfully braised piece of meat, I jumped on it. Unfortunately when I took it home, I was unpleasantly surprised with what they decided to serve me. Now anybody who knows anything about oxtail understand that you have to cook it for a very long time in order for it to become the delicious, fall apart morsel it's supposed to be. Apparently this place doesn't, because the two chunks of oxtail I found in my broth were so tough they were almost completely inedible. I went to town on them for about 15 minutes with knives, forks, and even my teeth trying to pry some meat out from the tails until I gave up. In the end I think I was able to actually eat about 10% of the oxtail, with the rest going into the garbage. To add insult to injury, the meat itself was also completely bland. On top of this, the broth didn't really have anything going for it and the sprouts they served on the side were very not fresh (aka brown). Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one who had to work for their meal when we got home. My girlfriend's broth wasn't hot enough to cook her rare beef, so we had to put it in a pot to heat it up so she could eat hers. Considering it took us 3 minutes to get home with our Pho, I would consider this a negative as well. All in all, it's bad food you have to work for. Not exactly optimal when someone goes out to eat. Even though this place is right down the street, I'm going to avoid it like the plague, and I hope you do too.

Not bad, but not the best. It was an early dinner on a Sunday and there weren't anyone else in there when we walked in. We did just come here for the convenience since we were wedding shopping down the street and my sister was hungry for pho. Their pho broth was ok. Vermicelli noodles were ok. Spring rolls were so-so and the lady kept on pushing for us to order more things off the menu when we already told her no. I know she meant well but I hate pushy customer service. Overall I would check out other places as this isn't a place I'd be dying to come back to.

First time tried... I yelped this spot due to the close proximity from my job and my coworker and I will definitely be back! I had the egg rolls, hot and fresh! Had a regular sized pho with rare steak and brisket and wow is all I can say! They give you a generous portion of meat! The vegetables were also fresh and delicious!

This place is kinda big, very airy, looks clean and it's right in the middle of where I live and work. However, it's expensive for a pho place. A regular pho bowl (number 1) is like $7 bucks and some change. I've had better and been given a lot more for just $5 bucks! Overall, the shopping center is ok and the older lady that works there was nice to me.

We stopped here on a lark -- hungry and not wanting to cook and needing to stop by the Fresh & Easy after. The proprietess was a bit of a busybody (she suggested I don't order a certain dish b/c she thought I'd undergone laser work on my face -- hahaha!), but I've come across this with Asian-owned businesses before and have gotten used to that occasional incredibly rude bluntness some ladies have at times (to a younger Asian person). The food was tasty (I've noticed a lot of complaints about the Pho, so I'll just mention I got a bun dish (rice noodles) with grilled meats & that my dinner companion got a spicy beef stew -- so neither one of us was going for pho. I think we got green tea ice cream, too. It's hard to go wrong with basic Vietnamese cuisine and happily, this place didn't make a mis-step with our order. Counter service with a bit of tableside service; sweet servers -- probably a family-owned place. I'd come here again, even though it isn't the best Vietnamese cuisine ever (my favorite is in San Francisco anyways -- although there's a great place in Westminster, too).

I always liked Pho Hao, but since a slight shift in staffing it's gotten even better. I now feel comfortable giving it a full five stars. The owner has been adding new "dry noodle" dishes that are variations on some of the soup formats but with blanched cold noodles, which are fantastic on hot days and unique in my experience. Other new dishes are pushing the bounds of Vietnamese cuisine as well, but traditional items are still plentiful and very good.

My husband went here on a Friday night and surprisingly it wasn't too busy. We were one of 3 couples on there. While we ate there was a guy who came in to pick up food. They had a sign on the front door about lunch specials to-go for $3.99 but I'm not sure what that included. This was our first time here and we only went because we got a coupon for a free entree with the purchase of an entree and 2 drinks. When we opened the menu we were a bit surprised by the high prices. Definitely higher than place in Westminster and even the usual places we go in Orange/Anaheim Hills. I ordered the Shaken Beef (Bo Luc Lac) and it was decent. They served it almost like a steak salad with the meat laying on top of the lettuce and then had the rice on a separate plate. It wasn't what I was used to and it ended up making some of the lettuce "cook" and get all wilted. My husband did the "build your own pho" where you can choose which meats, etc you would like. He thought the taste was decent, but not for the price. We both also got iced coffee. I was surprised at how big of a cup of it they gave you. Usually places give like 2 shots of espresso and the rest is ice. This place had a nice tall glass full of coffee. We were full when we left, but not sure when we would come back because of the price and there are closer pho places to our house. With the free entree coupon, we ended up paying for one entree and 2 ice coffees. With tip, we paid $20 which seemed expensive to us for Vietnamese food.

New management (and higher prices), still same good pho taste and quality. I'm Vietnamese and pho is just pho to me. Sure, there are some hole-in-the-wall places that are better than others (my yelp for Pho Thanh Lich yelp.com/biz/pho-thanh-l… ) but my non-Vietnamese friends swear by this place. They especially love the pho tai because the beef is so "soft and tender." I'm a pho bo vien type of girl so you'll have to take their word for it. The staff is super friendly and super accommodating (it might be that the servers are generally male and I usually come with a group of girls). We have a vegetarian friend who usually orders the vegetable dish or tofu dish or gets the goi cuon with tofu and loves it.

great food! This was my first experience with Pho and I try to go there now atleast a few times a month. My favorite is the chicken with rice noodles. They also have the free range chicken and they don't use MSG.Great stuff!

So my job just moved to Orange and my coworkers and I were seaching for a good pho place to eat and this place is the closest. Boy were we disappointed. We ordered the pho and there wasn't much flavor in the soup, and the thai tea sucked, plus the waiter kepted coming to our table and asking if our food was great every 2 minutes i'm thinking he was a little too excited that we had a table full of females. Now in the future I know if I want Pho just drive down to Garden Grove.

Pho Kobe was terrible, tasted worse than a cup of noodle. I was trying to eat but can't. For everybody going to eat Pho, don't ever try Pho Hao. You will be ripped off.

Came for lunch today and the place was pretty full. I sat down and think I was forgotten about as I went in by myself and I was at a table near the front door. I flagged a server over to my table and ordered my pho' and a water and 2 minutes- YES I said TWO minutes later- my pho' was in front of me. Talk about redeeming yourself...and quick! The pho' was flavorful. I enjoyed every last bite! Noodles were firm, broth was hearty, lots of meat, condiments...good stuff! I will be back for more:)

I always get the veggie pho, and it's about $6 for a huge bowl of tofu, noodles, broth, and lots and lots of veggies! I've also had all the meats, and those are super tasty! Eggrolls are fresh, and they have spicy cheese-sticks that are my absolute favorite! The service here is outstanding. It's like one of those family restaurants where they really care about their customers. Of the Pho places in Irvine/Orange, this is without a doubt, the very best!

Another Vietnamese restaurant in Orange County? This one is in Orange, and they have Veggie Pho! The broth tastes like ginger, and is filling and comforting with a hefty portion of vegetables. It's a clean place, and they have lunch specials as well as free range chicken and free range chicken broth. I'd come back.

Today was my first time trying pho soup. I LOVE hearty soups, especially Korean soups like yukejang and galbitang, so I had a hunch I would love pho. Pho Hao at lunch time today was packed. I went by myself in order to enjoy lunch and a book, but the servers were so rushed that I felt rushed to order, rushed through eating the soup, rushed to pay, and rushed to leave. They are good at keeping your water cup full and your food comes out quickly, but the quickly served soup wasn't hot enough to cook the raw bean sprouts. Also, as a warning to those, like me, who are not familiar with soups and just tell them "I want the most popular," their Beef Combo Pho soup has tripe in it. Tripe = cow intenstine. And they didn't warn me! Like I said before, I felt so rushed through ordering that I didn't know that that was what I was ordering, and when I recognized it floating in the soup, I had to pull it out and cover it with a napkin so I didn't have to look at it. Also, there was a lot of fatty stuff in the soup too that had to be put aside. The slices of actual beef were good & hearty (except the beef balls, those had a strange texture). Just be cautious when you order. The Beef Combo cost $ 6.95 - $7.56 w/ tax. I must say that although my experience at Pho Hao today wasn't fabulous, I'm going to keep looking to try great pho. Maybe other things on Pho Hao's menu are better? I dunno yet if I'll go back or not, but as there were a lot of customers there today they may be worth giving a second try.

Someone, please help me out! I still need to find great pho restaurant in Orange County!!! I like like this restaurant. It's A-OK. I really enjoyed the egg roll appetizer. It comes with fresh green leaf lettuce, sliced cucumber, mint leaves and carrots so that you can make a little lettuce wrap. I have been here a few times and have tried a few different noodle dishes. To me, with pho its all about the broth. If the broth isn't delicous, it ruins the entire dish. The broth is good, but not great. The service is very speedy and efficient. If you need to have a quick lucnch or dinner, you can get it and out pretty fast. I really enjoyed their Iced tea! Good prices too.

Walking into the place it looked like a decent pho place. Place was busy and everyone's food looked good. So I thought this place would be a good place to eat. I could have never been so wrong. There are better pho places in my neck of the woods (San Diego). I ordered my usual, egg rolls and well-done steak pho. The egg rolls were good, but the steak in the pho didn't taste that great. The worst thing about the experience was the service. My order came out way before my girlfriend's order she ended up waiting 30 minutes before her food came out. There was a large party in front of us, but regardless 30 minutes is way to long for someone to wait for their food. The worst thing about it is that large party was family members and friends of the owner. That doesn't seem right in my book. The only good experience that came out of this dinner was the mango-iced tea. It is one of the best drinks I have ever had. The problem is that they only allow one refill, and I tend to drink a lot. Overall I rate this place a one star. I normally don't give such bad ratings, but the service is horrible. I will never come back to this place. If I were you, just keep on moving and find another restaurant to eat at.

Pretty authentic Vietnamese fare with healthy portions in a clean environment. The menu is translated better than average, they include the history of pho and have an explanation for rookies on how to eat it (like adding the fresh herbs, etc.) This is huge since most pho menus are poorly translated and makes all the dishes sound the same, so the only way you know what to order is if you come with someone experienced (which we did today by bringing 6 newbies for their first pho). Our order took 15 minutes to come out, which is weird since it usually takes 5 minutes, so I'd normally downgrade to a 3 star. BUT, we had a waiter who offered the best service I've ever had at a pho place, which is saying a lot since my people are usually surly and you just know you need to deal with it in order to get good, cheap eats. AND he was a Vietnamese MAN. No way. He checked on us repeatedly, was pleasant, and even smiled. That totally earned them a 4 star rating. They also offer boba, which not all pho places have.

2 1/2 stars It started out early in the afternoon with wanting Filipino food. Then once we got home from work, sushi sounded good so we drove to the Fuji Grill nearby, but Roo noticed another sushi place on the other side of the street. We couldn't decide so we flipped a coin....the other side won. We parked and walked over to the other place...but just by looking inside, it didn't seem too appealing. Sooo... we turned around and in the same parking lot was Pho Hoa. On a cold night like tonight....pho sure sounded good....wait...what happened to wanting sushi? Oh it died along with the craving for Filipino food. We ordered the usual: Beef stew for me Pho with all the meats for Roo Egg rolls - but this one had chicken and pork in it Two Thai iced teas I really liked the beef stew. It was very tender and meaty...not full of fat like other places. And the broth was incredibly flavorful!! For Roo though....he wasn't too impressed with the flavor of the pho. If you've read my other Vietnamese restaurant reviews, you'd know I rate it based on how much hoisin I have to put in the pho. And Roo put in a lot!! I didn't bother trying his. The egg rolls were decent and the Thai iced tea was...well Thai iced tea. But the kicker was we spent almost $30 on all that! Holy cow....we usually pay $20 or $25 at other places...we might come back...if I'm craving good beef stew and am too lazy to drive more than 5 minutes away from home. Updated at 9:19 - dinner time was like 6:19 - I am hungry again...wtf...dropped rating down to a 2. No wonder their beef stew was good...all that eff'in MSG.

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Their menu is very large and has plenty of options, along with many vegetarian options as well. I order many tofu dishes which are all good, the pho is also very good, I usually get tofu with chicken broth. They have a mango salad that is absolutely delicious, and a sparkling lime soda that just tops off everything. The service is always good and the prices are very reasonable.

Average pho, hair in soup, they didn't charge me for the food. A little pricey. Can of soda was dirty.

Me and my fiance go here at least 1x a week. It's good comfort food, and decent pho. It's hard to fnd a good pho place. Pricing is ok- not too cheap, not too expensive. They give you a good amount of noodles in your pho. They have a good selection of other rice dishes and even organic chicken for a healthier meal. The old lady that owns the place is always there to greet you and ask how your food is. THey serve a hot citrus honey tea there that is pretty good on a cold day. Overall, a great place! could be cheaper, that's why I give them only 4 stars.

  • Nini A.

Food was a bit bland. We've had better for the same price. Service was ok...we could do without the attitude that we got from the chic when we kept asking for our forgotten drinks that we ordered.

  • Jason S.

Not bad, had better. Service good. Pho broth typical, which is to say pretty good. Meaty and rich, with a hint of sour. Table sauces all good, especially the fishy pepper sauce. Price can't be beat: 8.50 for reg bowl of basic steak pho and ice tea. I'd go back if needing pho fix.

This place is good before or after drinking at Pump Room or Extreme's. Your standard Vietnamese food ranging from pho to rice dishes and they also have your specialty drinks like cafe sua da and some grass tea. I usually eat pho and it's okay. Broth probably has a little too much lemongrass for some people's taste (like my classmate). I've had the chicken curry rice dish and it was too mild for my taste but it was good and plentiful. I usually come away from that place full and satisfied. The wait staff is friendly and helpful.I think it's a bit pricier than what you'll see in Bolsa but I suppose if you're the only Vietnamese food joint within that area, you can dictate prices but then again the prices seem reasonable with the amount of food you're given.

We were going to go to our regular Pho place, but they're closed on Sundays. Being in the mood for pho, we decided to give Pho Hao a try. We were very pleased with our selections, none of which was pho! We tried dishes that we'd never tried at other places. The Phoenix rolls were really good, as was the salmon and mango salad and the grilled pork and shrimp with noodles. The service was friendly and efficient. And, the owners are super nice people. Plus, they have this "secret sauce" on the tables that was purely addictive. We're definitely going back!

  • Thanh P.

Ok the Pho is OK.... nothing here is ovelry good... they're probably all average at best when compared to other Pho restaurants. I lived across the street so it was just easier to eat here... The lady is always talking to us complaining about her rent at the plaza and its why she had to charge higher prices for Pho.... I was completely honest with her.... I told her the Pho' is a bit over priced and is pretty good... decent.... and she got all defensive. I was jsut trying to help because I do want to see her succeed. She thrives off of lunch from all the employees seeking pho in the area from local businesses..... so Lunch gets packed!!! Dinner is a ghost town.... I suggest she cheapen the price for dinner since obviously thats not where she's getting business from the local residents. anyways she's just way too defensive and is pretty cheap. What kind of pho place charges expensive pho, and then $1.50 for tap water, and $1.50 for tea..... most places I go to don't ever charge for tea. Sorry its already expensive enough for what you're getting but to tax on tap water is criminal.... I swore off the place when one day my fiancee who was pregnant was sick and wanted pho and hot water.... just hot water.... I came across the street to order the pho and asked for some hot water so she can warm herself up because she was pregnant.... now she knows us and knows my fiancee and her pregnancy... we talked quite a bit.... but when time to pay I noticed she charge me $1.50 for boiled water.... I told her bluntly... .you're charging me $1.50 for hot water? to my disbelief she said yea she's got to because of the styrofoam cup and heating.... I was in shock and said fine, here and gave her the $.... she saw my anger and tried to revoke the bill and said oh its ok i'll give it to you free because you come here alot.... Sorry the damage has already been done... I dont really care about a dollar or two but sometimes you just got to draw the line with what is acceptable and what isn't..... I just felt she was a cheat and focused too much on $ instead of quality service. we always ate there to support her and keep the business alive... we even helped pass her flyers around our apartments and work place. Since that day I've never set foot at her restaurant.... I feel bad for anyone who thinks this is the best pho they can get. If you need a fix for Pho and didn't want to drive far..... it probably fits your needs.... I just don't recommend it if you have choices.

First time here, and I knew I should have probably gone with the pho. I had seafood hu tieu instead. Initially it was fine, until I got to the imitation crab that tasted like mush because it had probably been frozen and defrosted so many times. I could let that slide a bit, but the fish I had next...YUCK! it was still partially frozen and had a sour rotten taste. My coworkers eat here a lot, but I think I'm done. 2 stars was me being generous because they were at least friendly.

so I have to update the review to a 4 stars. We went to complain that there was hair in our food, and the owner was kind enough to explain that it was probably lemon grass. He appologize and didn't charge us for our orders. I do not know if it was lemon grass or not because at the time, it seems like a piece of gray hair alone. It might be hair or lemon grass, but who knows. Anyway, back to the food, it was delicious and the staff was friendly.

I love this place. Every time i go the owner comes out to say hello, and see how we're doing. It's close to my mom's house, so we go there pretty often. I've had some issues with servers forgetting water, but only small things like that. The Kobe beef pho is amazing. I usually get their veggie pho and i love it every time. I've seen other pho places, in the area, get higher ratings, and i don't understand. This is the best pho place I've been to in the area.

My co-workers used to go here when we want Vietnamese food that's close to work. Service has always been great, but the more items we try, the more we are disappointed. :/ I don't like to write reviews unless I've tried it a few times to be fair. Anyway, I've gone here with my co-workers at least 5 times. At our last time here, we vowed not to go here to eat Vietnamese food because it's just not good. They Americanize it to the point where it's not Vietnamese food anymore. I see nothing wrong with Americanizing it, but it just didn't taste good. My co-worker had a few bites of her pho and didn't finish it. I ordered the papaya beef salad and it was a tiny portion for the price and it was nothing like your typical beef papaya salad (Goi du du). I did not even finish it and I love to eat! :) The only item that was decent was their lunch special vermicelli with fish grilled on skewers. Seems to be a fair price for the portion. I haven't been back here for awhile, so things may have changed for the better.

I'm officially upgrading this place to a 5 star! I'm never disappointed when I come here. It's really the only Pho restaurant that I go to where I feel like there is more than just pho that is worth getting. They are always working to expand their menu and it keeps getting better. Their lemongrass pot stickers are killer! Their pineapple fried rice comes in a half a pineapple! Their new drinks, though I don't remember their official names are amazing! I got their thai basil lemonade thingy and my friend tried their coconut cream thai tea and we were both blown away with how great they are! I they are totally keepers and I hope they stay on the menu. And of course their pho is always glorious! They've done a wonderful job upgrading their atmosphere since I've been coming here and their new décor is lovely. And the owners are so wonderfully sweet and caring. When my Husband was sick once a couple years ago and I came in to get some pho to-go for him they also gave me a little ginger tea mix on the house for him. They are so caring! This is hands down my favorite and more reliable pho restaurant ever! You will love it!

I've been quite the pho whore in the last 7 to 8 years. I've eaten a considerable amount of pho in a lot of different pho restaurants. I never thought a restaurant could get pho wrong. I mean sure, maybe it's not as good as another restaurant's pho, but never did I think you could actually mess it up. Until i ate at Pho Hao. How do these people even get away with calling their stuff pho? When I sat down to eat, I noticed the table was dirty. There were bits of dried cilantro stuck to the table and some kind of sticky stuff that wasn't cleaned off all the way. Their sriracha sauce bottle top was flipped open (not the twisting kind of bottle but the flip top) and there was used, crumpled, napkin under my table. This obviously tells me they don't pay very much attention to keeping their place clean. Can't imagine what happens in the kitchen.... Their broth tasted like it was made out of hot water and instant ramen soup base. This came as a surprise to me, especially since when ordering, the server asked what kind of broth I wanted. He introduced all kinds of broth: beef, chicken, shrimp, vegetarian or some sort, etc. I thought, "wow, fancy." The disappointment continues. My bowl of pho comes out, and at first i'm thinking, where's the noodles? All i see is broth. I stick my chopstick in and start swirling and finally find the balled up noodles. It's probably slightly bigger than a golf ball. I've had kid size pho at other places that were bigger than this so called "regular" bowl. Then come the shrimp. They have not been deveined. This is terrible. Time to doctor my pho. I add hoison and sriracha. In most cases, this does the trick. Not this time. The horrible instant ramen soup base flavor has overpowered. What drove everything off the cliff was when I asked the server for extra wedges of lime. He proceeds to go to the kitchen, grab two wedges of lime in his hand, and bring it to me. SERIOUSLY?! NO GO. I don't know how long this place has been open, and I wonder how they are still in business. Total rip off. $8 bucks for this bullshit? Unbelievable. Never has a restaurant left me this pissed.

Went on a cold day and ordered a typical pho bowl. The pho was barely warm. Also the small plates they provided were dirty! And one of the spoons had something on it. Somehow someone forgot to wash the dishes. Where's FDA and the health inspector to grade them when you need them! Never again.

I passed by this place few times on the way to the UCI Medical Center so I thought I'd give it a try. I thought it was Pho Hoa, but I see now it's Pho Hao. Anyhow, the lady that served me was super nice and the pho came out real fast. The pho wasn't too bad, but it wasn't anything special. Just A-OK at best for me.

I give it 4 stars based on the food, service and menu. A pho house that has the words "free range," "organic," and "Kobe beef" on its menu? Surely you jest. But no, it's right there, in black ink on a tight menu stuffed with delectable dish after dish - organic vegetarian mushroom dishes and salads, free range pho ga, Kobe beef pho (one of the top sellers according to the server). I got the Kobe beef pho, pricey at $7.99 or $8.99, even though it's one of the introductory specials (meaning it's a dollar off the regular price) but it was delicious. Just enough meat for me (maybe not that much if you're a big meat eater), the sliced beef was tender and flavorful and the broth was decent. I thought it was a bit strange that it didn't come with the bean sprouts, basil, lime etc though. We overstayed our welcome but they were kind enough not to throw us those Get Out glares customary at most Asian restaurants, even after the 2nd hour we stayed drinking avocado shakes and house special coffee. I love that they have several options for vietnamese coffee, thai tea, coconut drink and a variety of sodas, lemonades and shakes as well. The place does get busy - not completely packed on a Wed. when I went - on weekdays with a steady trickle of lunchtime traffic and the servers are somewhat disorganized, but at least they're pleasant. I can't wait to go back and try the other menu items.

The owner of this place has to be the friendliest man on the planet. He welcomed me with "nice to see you again", even though I had never been there. He had a HUGE smile on his face and could tell customer service was of the upmost importance to him. Wonderful to be around someone like that after a long day of work! The food was delicious, came out quickly, and reasonably priced. Very clean restrooms and very pleasant atmosphere. If I'm ever back in the area, this will defintely be my #1 Vietnamese place.

Pho is my main lunch food staple, there is something about a big steaming bowl of noodles that just makes me feel good. I've tried pho at many different places some really good some barely ok. There's not much that you could get wrong there. On the other side there really isn't much you could do to improve it by much. You can change up the condiments though. My local Korean owned pho place serves up onions on the side, even kimchee. The pho at this place was really good, not spectacular, but very good. What really blew me away was a spicy chili sauce that they had sitting right next to the standard red pepper chili sauce. This stuff was a maroon/burgundy color. At first I tasted a sweetness that had a pineapple tinge, I also tasted tamarind....and chilies of course. Not ordinary chillies though. They were more of a robust flavor, almost like a chipotle that has a roasted flavor. It was so incredibly good! I asked what was in it but they just said "allot of stuff". I'll come back just for the sauce, they even offered to make some sauce just for me. You can't beat that!! I gave them 4 stars because I feel like I've been a star whore lately...giving it up too easily.

I think the service and speed at this place are excellent. Ordered the Bun salad with pork (b-3 on the menu). I usually order the same thing from either Long Hai or Pho Hung Vuong on Newport Blvd in Tustin. Pho Hao doesn't include fresh cilantro or mint and the prices are slightly higher. They also charge extra for the fried roll.

DON'T GO THERE! The place is slow. I went there, looking forward to some wonton soup with shrimp and barbecued pork. I placed my order to go, and then waited, and waited, and waited. for over 1/4 hour I waited. They kept giving me lip service. And when I finally got back to work, I found my order was wrong. I didn't get the wonton soup, oh, no. I got some kind of pho that had raw meat in a baggie. That would be okay if I ate there, but I didn't. I had to get back to work. DON'T GO THERE! Service sucks, and it's really not very good pho for the price. Are you kidding me? $8.65 for mediocre broth and raw meat? NEVER AGAIN!

The first thing I thought of when we pulled up to this place was, "Hey! I think I've been here before! With my ex..." That's when I looked over and the bf was giving me the stink-eye. Then I go in and was like, "Oh yeah, this WAS the place! We sat right over there..." Stink-eye again. Well, at least one of us thought it was pretty funny. Even after all that, he still decided to feed me. We sat down and our waitress comes over, sees that the table is dirty and wipes it down for us. She drops a couple of menus in front of us and my jaw consequently drops at the prices. $8 pho? Sheesh. I actually deviated from the norm and get a small size pho tai with oxtail. I also got a soda limeade. The soda limeade was super good. Two pieces of oxtail were served in a separate bowl and the soup there was pretty flavorful. That couldn't be said of the pho tai though. It was bland, there were few pieces of meat and it was just forgettable. Especially for $8. Customer service was good, but they really need to add a bit of flavor to their soup base. Probably won't go back for pho, but if I'm in the neighborhood and have a craving for limeade, I might stop by for a to-go.

I was really craving a bowl of Pho the other day and usually this place nails it with the Pho but I think they had an off day. The broth was just really weak. What really made me not want to come back to Pho Hao (which is sad because I've come here so often) is that my boyfriends beef fried rice tasted like one big omelette. It even had bits of egg shell in it..Horrible! I've never had rice that gross before. :(

Got pho? Summary: Good pho and great everything else at reasonable prices. I have been coming here through a couple of different owners as it's close to my work. The food has had its ups and downs, and right now we are definitely on an upswing. The pho is quite tasty with a nice oxtail based broth (just a hint of sweet to it). They also have a chicken broth if you are worried about your cholesterol. As for everything else, the noodle and rice dishes are excellent. The chow fun (crispy) is great. They have daily lunch specials which are always a great bargain. One word of caution: Get there before 11:30 if it's raining. Sounds strange I know. But the warm goodness of pho brings them in droves when the weather is inclement. So come early if it's coming down.

One lonely Friday afternoon, when my entire department at work was on leave except for me, I decided to go off-site for lunch for a change and found this Vietnamese restaurant. As a Vietnamese person, I practically crave Pho on a daily basis so I had high hopes for this place, considering it's the closest thing I've got to Little Saigon. Upon entrance, you notice how large and spacious the restaurant is, with a only a handful of patrons seated. DING DING DING! Red flag number one. My mama always told me, if that Pho restaurant isn't swarming with customers, that's an indication that the Pho is probably bad. Yet I pushed past my anxieties and seated myself down on a side table. I ordered a ca phe sua da (Vietnamese Iced coffee) after being greeted by a friendly waiter and settled down into the menu. Holy smokes, I'd never seen such outrageous Pho prices this side of the 5 freeway, let alone EVER. Having been spoiled rotten at other restaurants by large $5 bowls of Pho Tai Bo Vien (Pho with thinly sliced beef and beef meatballs), anything pushing $8 better be worth it's weight in gold. My Vietnamese iced coffee was served with a bit of the condensed milk floating at the bottom - but that wasn't a problem - it actually was the saving grace of my meal. The Pho was what garnered this place 2 stars. The slices of meat, while raw and therefore 'fresh', were stacked on top of one another the way they would come out of a package. I found maybe one or two meatballs hidden behind what little Pho noodles I had drowning in a broth that was bland, I could taste the MSG and proved nothing to rave about. Perhaps I am of the generation that likes my Pho flavorful, chock full of meat and noodles, and at a cheap price - but considering how close it was to my work and having no other viable Vietnamese options, it's all I could ask for.

The server told me they don't use msg here! The servers are really friendly and I've been coming here on and off for at least 3 years. I usually order the shrimp and pho spring rolls & oxtail pho! The portion is big here and delicious!

We had the veggie pho, and the water was not quite as hot as we had hoped, but otherwise enjoyed the meal. Will request hotter water next time. The Japanese mushroom rice was quite good.

Not the most authentic place and doesn't have a full Viet menu but when I'm craving Viet for lunch that's close to work then this is the spot ito go to! Slightly over priced compared to Bolsa. But when I got a craving this hits the spot.

Hello Ben here, I cannot believe I actually have a negative review. For lunch I ordered the banh mi ga sandwich, the picture on the menu and the description said the soup comes with the sandwich. When my order came i asked where is the soup, the elderly woman said it was a dollar extra. I showed her on the menu still I had to pay the extra dollar. Its not the dollar thats the problem. Its the principle and the dishonesty. Also I ordered the cafe su da coffee, I asked for a little bit of ice, I got a 3/4 cup of ice which amounted to about 1/4 coffee. What was worse is her English was dreadful and I doubt clearly understood what I was saying. Perhaps I should not be critical of her English, because my Vietnamese is extremely limited, I did at least say thank you, please, and yes ma'am, and ordered from the menu in Vietnamese at least I tried. Such a unhappy lunch. I should have driven to Lee's Sandwich and got exactly what I was hoping to get here. Respectfully skip this place. Thank you for reading, Have a nice day.

If you want greasy, down-home, ghetto-tastic pho, this is the place for it. Their tea is sweet and their pho is hearty. I am not a huge fan of greasy pho. Also, I've paid half as much for equivalent pho as I paid here. I probably won't be back.

Food is good. Love their fruit lemonade. Service is slow. Food takes a while to come out. They also don't offer to get you anything to drink, and when you do get a water should you ask for one, they don't refill your cup. Their cups are 16oz. You have to ask which is fine, but the waiter/waitress never come back to your table once they give you one drink and your food. They only come back with a check.

I came here last week during the heavy rain because I was craving some hot pho. I ordered their rare steak pho and I thought it was decent. I have no complaints but I don't think it stands out from any others I've tried either. I'll go if I'm in the area but I don't think its worth a drive from very far.

I'm sad that I won't be living close to this place anymore. I am also sad that I only discovered the place a month before I moved =/ They have the most delicious drinks, especially the coconut thai tea. yuuum! Their food is really good too, but I definitely come here more for the drinks than the food.

We were at Disneyland and being that it was a cool evening, my bf and I were looking for a hot soup, preferably chicken noodle soup (pho). We didnt want to drive to Westminster so decided to Yelp a place nearby but I remembered that Pho Hao was very close to my work. So we headed here and immediately was pleased with our decision. The staff is so friendly and they really make sure that you are happy with their service and enjoy their food. The restaurant is also very beautiful. The decor is pretty cool and we loved the pictures on the wall and the choice of flowers in the center of the place. It was modern with a very Vietnamese touch. I really liked my pho and I love the vegan and gluten-free option. This place is a must visit again soon.

When I came here the first time I didn't expect anything unusual. I've been eating pho a lot recently, and everywhere I go presentation is similar. Your pho comes ready-to-eat with a plate of garnishes. A standard bowl of pho here will have the same presentation, but since its just a couple dollars more, I recommend getting one of the "kobe" bowls. For those, the pho comes in a stone black bowl and the broth is boiling-hot. The noodles and raw meat come on separate plates, and you add them in yourself at the table. Garnishes come too. I had never seen pho served like this before, and it was very fun! Taste is the most important part, and for me, it was spot-on. The broth was clear and flavorful, it didn't look oily at all. For meat, I got the combination of kobe steak and brisket. It didn't look like a lot of meat when it was flattened out on the plate, but once it was in my soup I realized there was actually quite a bit! Both cuts of meat tasted great, but the fat in the brisket made it my favorite. My boyfriend had the oxtail, and his was amazingly tender. I'd never tried oxtail before, and I was impressed by how the meat fell off the bone so easily. I bet the fat and bone on the tail added a lot of flavor to his soup, too. The place is clean and decorated nicely. The flowers in the glass jars are really lovely! It was well-lit and colorful, and the food came out very quickly. The staff has been polite to me every time I've been there, despite my ignorance of how to properly pronounce most of the items on the menu. This has become my go-to pho place, so I'll definitely be back!

First time here & the wait was long & the waitress took her time coming to our table & when she finally took our order i asked for my phó broth to be spicy & she said there's hot sauce on the table! Very rude of her but whatever. The food was good & average like any other place but the service was pretty lousy.

I'm debating between giving this place two stars or three. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. It's on the pricier side for a basic Vietnamese restaurant. Service was prompt. The wonton noodle soup I ordered was beyond disappointing. The soup flavor was odd and portion small for $8.50.

I really hate to give this place a bad review because I've been a regular here for years. Their pho was never exceptional, but it's not horrible either. It's a convenient place to stop for my lunch break. The owners have always been nice to me. That's enough to keep me coming. However, after today's experience, I will no longer be coming back here. Due to the recent hot weather here, I haven't gone in awhile. I decided to stop there for lunch today and noticed the establishment has recently gone through a facelift. The lights are dimmer, and the walls are painted. The place was crowded with the usual lunch rush. I sat down at a table, and I noticed this overwhelming smell of soapy perfume. I initially thought the ladies next to me had on way too much perfume, but the smell was so strong I started looking down the walls to see if there were plug-in air fresheners. When my bowl of pho came, I ritualistically held my face over the bowl to smell the pho, and couldn't smell it. When I started eating it, I couldn't taste it either. That other smell was simply too strong. Then I looked up to see one of the employees liberally spraying the tables down with Odorban. Now here's the thing. When I walk into a restaurant, I expect to smell food. Specially, food that the restaurant is known for. In this case, pho. I want to smell broth flavored with bones, fish sauce, and spiced with coriander, cinnamon, star anise, and cardamom. Not ODORBAN! Trying to mask the place with with a strong smell that isn't food tells me they are trying to hide something. The fact that my basil leaves on my condiment plate was wilted tells me they are reusing untouched condiment plates that have been previously served. It's been three hours now since I've eating there and I can still smell Odorban in the back my mouth. So long, Pho Hao. It's been swell knowing you. There are so many other good places to eat nearby that I won't be missing you. I'm sorry we're leaving on bad terms.

Been here a couple times, I love that they have a vegan/vegetarian section on their menu along with a vegan taro drink which is very hard to find. Their food is good and flavorful, so far I've had the mushroom soup, pad Thai, salad rolls and tofu banh mi. Check it out sometime

Food was good, service was OK. The gentleman taking our orders was really nice, but it took forever for them (collectively) to serve us water. The menu looks to be a good selection. I personally ordered the pork, won ton and shrimp pho. The soup broth was really clean and delicious; noodles were cooked well. Would I come back? Probably just to try something new.

First of all, the customer service blew me away here. The waiter (owner?) noticed I was ordering from the vegan/vegetarian menu and made sure I knew what ingredients contained dairy, even made sure I was okay with soy and gluten for good measure. He was just so attentive and pleasant. I ordered the papaya salad but it turns out they ran out of the dressing for it, so I ordered mango rolls instead. Mango rolls - good. Light and healthy, tasted similar to sushi rolls with the avocado. Tofu Veggie Pho - good. Also light and healthy, didn't feel sleepy after eating a bowl of warm soup like I usually do. The broth didn't have a huge amount of flavor but adding sriracha and hoisin made it good. Wasn't the best veggie pho I've had but I would order it again. Yuzu Watermelon Strawberry Limeade comes in a big mason jar and was delicious - the perfect amount of sweetness. So big I couldn't even finish drinking it. Jasmine Rice Milk Tea - The waiter was very apologetic about the lack of papaya salad and even comped us a jasmine rice milk tea near the end of our meal. It just so happens that it was the best jasmine milk tea I've ever had!! It was strong, not watered down like some restaurants, the rice milk was creamy, perfectly sweetened, and VERY fragrant. I will order this again next time for sure! Food is fresh, customer service is great. I've been to the Starbucks nearby plenty of times and never knew this place existed. Will definitely come back to try the other dishes.

It is very rare that find a place that Wow's me. But this restaurant knows what it is doing. I came in to take advantage of their yelp. check in special buy one lemonade and get 2nd one free. LEt me just say the the Lemonade is addicting, I had the watermelon strawberry lemonade and I still crave it 2 weeks later!!!! The chicken Pho is so good you do not even have to add any condiments. The jalapeño cheese sticks wrapped in rice sheets is just so smart!! And de---lish!!!!! I also give this place 5 star for their service. Everyone is so nice and attentive. I have been here twice in a week and it has yet to fail.

I've been here more than a few times now, seems like most of the things I order are of higher quality compared to the other pho places. They're more complete in terms of menu (ranging from omelette to pho). They also have all kinds of drinks available. The owner is a very kind man who personally visits customers tables and ask for opinions to better his restaurant. It's unfortunate not many know about this place because everytime I come here there aren't that many people. Hopefully this yell review helps because this truly is a quality Vietnamese restaurant!

From my experience, this place is just alright .. They have have lots of varieties from pad thai , vegetarian to your typical vietnamese dishes . I came here on a Saturday around 11 for my lunch break and decided that I wanted pho since it was pretty cold outside . The first thing I noticed was the decor of course , clean and nice for a pho place . The server was friendly & helpful with choosing out dishes even tho he spoke broken English. I came to a conclusion and ordered the special which basically came with everything. The wait wasn't long since the broth was already made we just had to wait for them to assemble it. Three of my classmates ordered the cucumber drink and they all said that it was delicious! About 5 minutes later our food came out , looking at the bowl my mouth was just salivating cause it looked so good ! I started putting in all my condiments & sauces which didn't take long cause I got right to it when I got the bowl , but when I started eating I realized my pho had no temperature to it .. Hot nor cold , just Luke warm.. My noodles LOOKED as if they were cooked all the way , but there were still parts of noodles that seemed like it didn't touch the boiling water during blanching. The broth was really bland even tho I put a ton of hot sauce and hoisin sauce in there . It was pretty sad for a pho spot .. If I come here again I don't think I'll order pho cause it isn't that great .

Just had lunch here, and I had to write a review for all my vegan/gluten-free/vegetarian friends. What a gem! They have a whole page of vegan/vegetarian menu items which are almost all gluten free. Plus all their drinks have a vegan option of using coconut creme instead of dairy creme. It wasn't busy. Staff was super friendly. Food came out fast and very fresh. I had the thai iced tea with coconut creme - the kind you stir in. yum. I had the mango spring rolls which had pickled carrots and avocado. yum. I had their green papaya salad. very fresh, but be careful of the sliced thai chilis! spicy! The owner commented on my healthy food choices and I told him I was vegetarian. He said that he would add more veg choices, but there's just no demand. Veg lovers, please create demand! I plan to come again with husband and friends.

I just got the vegan pho to go and it was incredible! It's hard to find a good vegan broth for pho instead of beef. This vegan broth was the best I've had so far. I had to heat it up in the microwave, but there were so many ingredients that they gave me to put into it. I almost finished the whole thing. I will definitely be returning!

I've been here a few times with my family knowing that this place doesn't use that much MSG. But today, the soup was ultra bland and the amount of food they give for an XL Pho is not worth $9.95. I have to literally get two more orders of extra noodles to be satisfied. Maybe I'm just a fatty but I know that no Pho should cost $9.95. It was out of convenience today so that's my bad. But overall it's just not worth it to come here any more. I'm going back to Westminster or my favorite place in Tustin. 3 Pho's (2 Reg, 1 XL, 1 Order of Eggrolls) = $37.52 = Uh NEVER AGAIN. But owner and the staff are really nice.

Fast service nice ambience and amazing vegan pho broth. Parking shared with fresh & easy. Kinda pricey 9 bucks for a large bowl (?) ive had cheaper. Only real issue is communication b/c the staffs english isnt too great but otherwise, solid experience here & i will be back.

Probably some of the worst chicken pho I've ever had. When it arrived it looked like a pond of oil on the surface of the broth... Really healthy cuisine with literally oil covering the majority of the surface... Service was ok. But the pho was awful. It's chicken pho boneless skinless, where did a this oil come from??? I live around the corner and won't be coming back. I will gladly make the trek to pho 45 in gg.

I like this place, a lot. The pho is delicious! (for not being home made) & the Hawaiian fried rice is bomb-diggity. And right now they have new drinks for the summer! I recommend trying the cucumber & mint limeade cuz its like, this refreshing nectar of the gods. The manager was very friendly & attentive but the rest of the staff left us hangin a couple times even though it wasn't very busy. *Womp womp* 4 stars - its not the best but its better than most. I'll be back!

Excellent customer service our waiter was very quick, attentive, and able to answer all of our questions. The atmosphere here is nicer than ur run of the mill hole in the wall pho mom and pop shop. The fruit smoothies and tiramisu coffee here are amazing; highly recommend trying those out. I like that this place offers healthier vegan and gluten free options without compromising the taste of its dishes. I'm definitely a fan of their pho broth here! This place is a must try :)

So, I rarely write reviews, but for this place I had to. Great fresh food, and friendly staff, you can't go wrong. Got the oxtail Kobe pho and egg rolls. The broth was flavorful and piping hot, it stayed that for for some time. You can tell the Kobe difference. The egg rolls were also amazing, came with all the fresh veggies. A little pricier that the typical pho price, but worth every penny. Very clean establishment

This become my go to place for Pho in the City of Orange area. Really tasty, really fresh. Owner is always very friendly and seems to be personal friends with most of the customers. I also love the fact that they have a vegan menu, otherwise my wife would never get to experience Vietnamese(ish) food.

I'm by no means a connoisseur of pho, however every time I come to Pho Hao I leave happy and eager to return soon. In fact, this is my second lunch here in two days. The menu is expansive and clearly (METICULOUSLY) outlined with potential allergens and vegan options as needed. I love the no MSG, love the broth, love the quality. The man who works the front of the house is just one of those people that I instantly liked, sweet, a little kooky, and always aiming to please. I enjoy every minute he spends at my table. Service speed is average to slow depending on the day, so if you need quick service call ahead for takeout (which I do frequently). I personally enjoy the slow pace and never feel rushed even though this place is packed for lunch every day. I will continue to frequent as often as possible!

Pros: - Atmosphere is exactly how you feel in any pho restaurant - Located close to Chapman University if you need a pho or thai food fix, this place is a fusion of both types - Tasty food (ordered the shrimp pad thai and chicken and shrimp side with lettuce), amazing iced coffee and thai tea (can choose coconut or regular flavor) - Average priced, not super cheap but won't break your wallet either - Extremely friendly service, checked up on us constantly, the manager came over to ask how we liked our food, was given a pineapple green tea drink to try for free - Parking lot isn't big but no issues with parking here Cons: - No cons!

Had lunch here 3 days ago. Ordered their rice chicken with vegetables rolls. Service was quick. Staff is very attentive & courteous. Starting with their egg rolls, they were not too oily like other Asian places. Vegetable blend was optimal and tastey. The rice was steamed. The rice quantity for their lunch portion is really small. Could do better. You would have to order extra items to fill up. The charbroiled chicken was tender, with a some Asian seasoning. Tasted really good. They also offer several lunch choices. The restaurant is clean, very close to businesses and by the Main place Mall in orange, ca.

I enjoy coming here. The food is good, the service is on point with quickness and politeness. And the fact if you call in your order it's ready in about 5-10 minutes. I highly recommend eating here.

I always get the free range chicken pho and every time I go everyone is so friendly. Best pho I've ever had. Tried pho with a friend and didn't like it and for some reason I was craving pho found this spot right by my apartment and now I love it. Took my fiancé for his first time too and he can't wait to go back. This is a definitely must try spot!

I've visited 3 times recently. Clearly marked vegetarian menu with vegan options. The veggie broth is flavorful, but a little mild. Restaurant is clean, servers are good, and the owners are always present while being warm and inviting.

Poor service. Terrible food. Ordered Pho Ga - the chicken was not cooked thoroughly. I swear, if I get sick, I'm suing. I asked the waitress if it's cooked, she said yes, all the chicken is cooked... Then she came back and took my chicken to cook it more.... Then brought me a fresh batch of cooked chicken. Never coming here again.

Surprisingly large menu w a lot of stuff. They have bahn mi but it's for take out only. They have an extensive selection of yummy drinks like watermelon limeaid or blueberry vanilla limeaid. I also got the rocket shrimp which was yummy. Pho was good. Regular size is plenty. If u r looking for the more common cheap pho places, this will be too much for u. I liked it a bunch and will go back for the food and the awesome drinks!

This is our second time eating here and I am so impressed. I work in the food industry so I can truly appreciate when a restaurant finds a way to give you great service, delicious food, and very reasonable prices. We have tried 4 different signature limeade and I can't choose a favorite because they have all been amazing. Crab shrimp summer rolls are yummy. They are served with a siracha yuzu sauce. The Pho is great. We are eating their shaken beef tonight. It's not just Vietnamese food. The owner must love eating and cooking because the menu is full of great eats. I plan to support the heck out of this place. Thank you so much for doing it right.

I called in a take out order and the guy who answered the phone was so sweet and helpful. When I picked up my food it was well packaged and I was given really easy instructions about how much to heat the broth based on how long it would take me to get home. Once I got home and get everything ready I was super happy with how incredibly delicious everything was. I ordered the pho with filet mignon, mango and avocado rolls, and a blueberry vanilla limeaide. I can't wait to go back! I highly recommend this restaurant if you're looking for some amazing pho.

Loved this place! The broth was super good, better than others have had. I really don't understand why people wrote bad stuff about the costumer service if my costumer service was great! The owners were there and greeted us with a smile and gave a couple recommendations. If you go don't forget to try the limeade it's super good!

Boyfriend and I went tonight and absolutely loved it. Service was great, atmosphere was calm and pleasant. I got the vegetable pho in chicken broth. They have all the fixings for pho, it's the best pho I've had so far! The coconut Thai iced tea was amazing!! And my boyfriend got the Shanghai crispy rice bowl with pork and it was by far the BEST pork I have ever tried in my life. Everything was very fresh and tasty. We will go back for sure!

My bf likes the kobe beef so he brought me here to try it. But I only eat chicken pho so he gave a piece to try. It was tender but it didn't feel like kobe beef? But he liked it so I guess it's fine. I got the chicken pho and it wasn't that great. They state that there are no msg except for the beef pho so maybe that's why it felt a bit out of seasoning(see top portion of menu). However!! The cheese pepper thing wrapped in eggroll paper was delicious!!! It has a kick to it and with the sweet and sour sauce, it's delicious! Not a big american cheese fan but I wanted more!

Came here Saturday night around 7:30pm with my husband and two young daughters. We stumbled upon this due to yelp indicating it was the closet by vicinity to our hotel. We only picked it bc of its average star rating, closeness and the somewhat OK reviews it had. We came here bc kids wanted pho and quite frankly we did too. Tired of eating American hotdogs and hamburgers, Mac n' cheese crap at Disneyland. So we decided to give this a try, thinking we can grub real quick to head back to hotel to catch yhe shuttle back to DLand. Now my review about the food...I ordered the pho Dac Biet large (everything in it), while my husband had the "Kobe" pho large. Kids shared a small beef slice pho. The broth was surprisingly good. Very tasty and definitely way better than some pho places that has better yelp rating. I am a pho eater and when I say it's pretty dang good, it's pretty good. I recommend new reviewers to try it. Also, owner and staff were all very attentive and nice. They asked us how we like it and we said its good. They admitted that it has 0.1% msg in their broth which is nothing. Honesty totally won our hearts over. Too bad we live in SJ and won't be returning soon but wouldn't mind making a stop here next time we hit OC.

If you re Asian don't come here. It s the worst I ve ever had. Pho has no taste. Prices are way too high for the quality of food served. We won't be back for sure

I love Pho, and when I'm sick, it's the only thing I crave because it makes me feel better. It's like magic... As many of you know, really good Pho is sometimes found in the not-so-good areas. Hardly do I come across good Pho is a good part of town -- until Pho Hao. Okay, so it's no South County, and it's still borderline Santa Ana, but it's decent. Plenty of parking and no shady looking people out front. I feel safe. On to the inside -- it's clean. We went on a Sunday for lunch and there were plenty of people, many Asians and non-Asians, which is a good thing and makes my Caucasian husband feel comfortable. The owner (I think he's the owner) came and greeted us and explained the menu. As always, I look for the strangest item on the menu and order that. He asked me twice if I was sure because you either like it or you hate it. I confirmed that I wanted to try it. Then another guy came and asked me the same question -- apparently it's an acquired taste and they weren't sure if I would like it. I ordered it anyway. We were hungry and ordered drinks, 2 appetizers, and our main entrees. Everything was delicious. The pairings were perfect. Not your typical Vietnamese taste, but definitely a fusion of great things to make something even better. While I was eating my entree, the owner came again and asked if I liked my order and that I could still order something to replace it free of charge. WOW! It was fine, not the best thing I've eaten, but certainly not horrible. I think they were concerned that I wouldn't have a good first impression. Overall, I loved the care I received. The service was impressive, the food selection were delicious, and I love that they didn't stick to any particular ethnic style. They seemed determined to make any food even better by fusing various ingredients and cooking style. We will definitely return and will try everything on the menu.

This is my goto for Pho. They offer kobe and organic chicken as options. I usually get the vegetable tofo or rare beef pho and I'm always pleased. The owners are very friendly and sometimes offer complimentary samples of their latest creation in the kitchen. The menu is not strictly pho. I've seen a guest served a rice dish in half of a pineapple, quite impressive. I asked about banh mi, because it is not on the menu, and they told me they are going to offer it to-go in 1 week. Can't wait!! Service is expedient and I go to the counter when I'm ready to pay.

I absolutely love this place!!!!! Owners are so friendly and welcoming. I love pho so much and I recently became a vegetarian but this place has vegan pho and it's just amazing! Drinks are also mostly vegan as well and made with rice milk! This is my new favorite place!! I highly recommend going here especially if you love pho and you are vegan!!!!! Love love love this place! Please pick this place if you want some delicious pho!!!!!!!!!

This place is amazing!! I am a vegetarian and they had a separate page in their menu completely dedicated to vegetarian and vegan items! They even have separate vegan broth for the vegetarian pho! If you're a vegetarian or vegan looking for good pho, this is the place!! It's also one of the few good, traditional pho places that does not use msg! My mother ordered their rare kobe beef that you cook to your liking in the broth, and she couldn't get enough of it! We went there 15 minutes before closing - and they did not mind at all! The service was fantastic! Everyone was very enthusiastic and happy to help us! They gave us menu recommendations and even made us cheater-chopsticks! I will definitely be back - maybe even within a week!

Best pho in Orange! Staff is nice, we recommend the chicken pho and they have free-range chicken that's like good for you! I can taste in the broth that it's healthier than most pho places with less salt and it tastes more organic (tastes like it doesn't have MSG like a lot of pho places). Get the pistachio frappe smoothie with boba! Amazing!

Have eaten here for lunch over the past few years, always good eats. They recently added some items to the menus, I had the OX Tail PHÓ and let tell you.... I HAVE NEVER HAD A BETTER BOWL OF PHÓ EVER. IT WAS SO GOOD. plus service is always top notch. if you see anything less than a 5 star, it BS. THIS IS 5 ALL THE WAY.

My mother and I were yelping for a descent Vietnamese place in the area, and it cam up with this restaurant. First things first, when you look in the menu there are traditional and non-traditional Vietnamese dishes and drinks. For drinks my mom ordered the cumquat and lime drink (summer special), and I ordered the thai tea with salted coconut cream. All I can say is wow the drinks were fantastic and so delicious. Then you would think the food should be good. Although sadly it wasn't the vermicelli dish was ok but the dish sauce was horrid. My mom was very disappointed, but you can't win them all. So, I would give this place a five id it was just off of drinks, but it's not so i give it a three. The food is a two.

This isn't a food review (it's good if a bit fatty), it's a service review. Went in on a Saturday night, mostly just people getting takeout. The manager, whose name I later learned was Koy (sic?) checked me out. Things were slow and Koy is chatty so he was telling me about the geographic inspiration for the dishes I ordered. It was all interesting and I enjoyed his pleasant and informative demeanor. But what prompted me to write this was when Koy brought my to-go bag around the counter and set it on an empty dining room table and proceeded to take each item out and describe their contents to me and how best to prepare the dish I had ordered (Vietnamese soup that comes disassembled). The care and pride he showed in speaking about and handling the food, including it's presentation in a simple to-go bag is evident in the food itself. Koy has world-class customer care skills, and I will return to Pho Hao based on that experience alone. Cheers, and thanks Koy!

Had my first taste of pho at this restaurant. I got the vegan pho. It was delicious. I ordered the regular size -which was enormous- (I wonder what the large looks like). It was flavorful and very filling even though it was vegan. Gonna keep going for pho.

Pho isnt super flavorful, not too bad though. Best options were the mango and avacado spring rolls. From a vegans perspective, I'll hand them an a-ok. Very helpful waitor

Excellent and very knowledgeable staff. They offer MSG vegan broth.......very hard to come by. This is the only Vietnamese restaurant I will go to!!!!!! The owner/ manager is coming up with new options for vegans as I write this review! We need more places like this in the world! Excellent pho! A+A+A+

Gave them another shot and very glad I did... The free-range chicken and Kobe steak phos are tasty, but a better-filled belly means an emptier wallet. I usually spring for the "upgrades" and it adds up, but, having said that, I don't mind supporting smaller Mom & Pop eateries. The pho soup is still a little greasy, but it tastes better. I don't know "hao" they did it.

Nice job here, top dollar Kobe Ox Tail pho, served in it's own special black bowl. Look around for other black bowls. Pho will be served on the side which you add just before you eat. Very good, made daily, no msg used (per the owner). The Lunch crowd was a mass of nearby workers of all types I don't know what the dinner crowd is like yet. As mentioned in the OC weekly this is another Gem in The city of Orange.

This is a really great place if you're in Orange and are looking for a place close by. They have an updated menu and recently improved the interior of the restaurant. Highly recommend the pho here. There's a choice of using beef or chicken broth. The other menu items are kind of a hit or miss, but they continue to update their menu and add items that are really tasty. They usually don't get too busy and they always have very fast service. Awesome place for a very quick meal at a very good price.

This is my new favorite place for pho. Omg!! The Kobe pho is amazing. The beef so so tender and the broth is delicious. They don't use a lot of msg so it doesn't give you that withdrawn feeling after you finish. The servers are tentative, friendly, and helpful. They don't give you attitude like other Vietnamese restaurant. One or two are pretty cute to stare at while you waiting for your sizzling hot bowl of pho to come out.

Pho is OK. The XL is a little bigger than the regular portion...which isn't that big. No complaints. However, my barometer for a good Vietnamese restaurant couldn't be used because they don't have egg loaf on the menu.

My coworkers and I went to this restaurant for a few years for our weekly get-together. Apparently, Pho Hao has been the go-to Vietnamese establishment for my coworkers for years, and they have seen it go through ownership changes. The owner and waiting staff has known us as regulars, and even knew some of our names and orders. During the early months of my visits here, service was quite fast and friendly. Prices were always a bit on the higher side, but that's to be expected with the lack of competition in the area, unless you were willing to drive further West into Westminster/Little Saigon. The decor is pleasant, and although the owner tried to change around the cash register location in an attempt to streamline things (my guess), he reverted back to the old layout a month later. Glad he did. The egg rolls were good, as was the Pho. I am the adventurous type and tried practically most of the major food items on the menu. Be warned: if you order anything but pho, be prepared to wait. And wait. And wait. Oftentimes, my food would arrive when my coworkers were nearly done eating. It was such a joy sitting there watching the rest of the table eat. The menu always includes a section with new food items they were testing. And of course, I was always the one in the group willing to try them out. They were a hit and miss, but what I still disliked the most was -- yes, having to WAIT an extended time for non-Pho items to be served. Food was decent, but not good when compared to restaurants in Westminster/Little Saigon where competition is so fierce, prices are lower and food is better and in larger quantities. Service at Pho Hao has generally been better than those restaurants, however. On rare occasions, we would find hair in the food. I believe that I came across two in the 2.5 years I dined there on a weekly basis. Jump forward a couple years. We noted that service became slower. Much slower. Perhaps due to a slight reduction in waiters, but at several instances, I observed a somewhat empty restaurant and still not being waited on for 2-5 minutes. Food quality became inconsistent. Many days, noodles were under cooked. Meats in pho were low in quantity. Egg rolls sometimes were not the crunchy, tasty selves. Soup was sometimes warm to the touch. Upon bringing up some of the issues to the owner (a male in his late 40s or 50s), we were generally met with a shrug or an excuse. At one time, he stated that he learned some of the dishes from a 5-star restaurant. Pardon us, but we just raised an issue/complaint, and he was extolling his cooking virtues. Suffice to say, we finally bit the bullet and decided to go to Westminster/Little Saigon for our weekly, Vietnamese fixing. That adds about 15-30 minutes to our lunch, but well worth it. I'm happy that we changed our regular restaurant. Very happy. I had been pushing us to do so for years. We currently go to Pho Thanh Lich Westminster. Great eggrolls, sub-par service with limited English, but consistent food quality and expedient serving speed.

Horrible customer service, they take forever to serve your food. The owner of the restaurant is very disrespectful. I would not recommend this restaurant. Not family oriented. Worst place ever! Do not come!

Even though there are other pho places closer to us, we prefer coming to Pho Hao. The service is always great. The staff is always attentive and friendly, especially the owner. He always remembers his customers. He is really helpful, especially when it's your first time there. Pretty much everything that we have tried was pretty good. But it never fails to order the pho tai. The broth is flavorful and they give a nice portion even with the regular size bowl. The oxtail pho was also good. The broth buttery and the meat is tender but a little hard to eat since its on small pieces of bone. The mango spring rolls are also good with a sriracha mayo type dipping sauce. The food is fast and fresh and consistent. There's plenty of parking and they take credit cards. We will be back for sure! Pho Tai always hits the spot!

  • Pamela L.

So close to Westminster but we had to try it. I opted for the Ox Tail which said it came with Kobe but I did not get Kobe in my Ox Tail. The Kobe beef wasn't that great since the meat was boiled. It was hard to tell if it was actually Kobe. The Ox Tail was good, I got three fair sized pieces for the small. The broth tasted like the typical pho broth but it didn't have as much flavor. At the end of the meal the broth tasted better so maybe it needed to be stewed a little longer. The Ox Tail pho broth did not taste like the Ox Tail was cooked in it, which is really too bad since the flavor would have been amazing. They also give all the pieces separately, like the pho noodles are separate. They also didn't seem to understand the Yelp deal so make sure you explain what it is if you use it. The tea they gave on the Yelp deal was grainy and although it came in a big pitcher, it was mostly ice, so for $3.50 I felt it was overpriced. The service was pretty good since we went at an off time, so no complaints there. The food came out pretty quickly as expected for a pho restaurant. I like how they gave us separate places for the bean sprouts considering we both like to eat a lot. Overall for the area I think there are better out there. This was a good idea for premium pho but it just didn't live up to the standard it tried to create.

  • Norina N.

Pho was good, but not to the point that I'd say wow. My order was pho with filet, a good size, meat was tender, pho was decent. Hubby had kobe beef pho, which everything comes out seperately, waiter forgot to bring out the noodle, we kept waiting for about 5 minutes until I flagged down the waiter, and he realized he forgot. I tried a few sips, it had a nice flavor and didn't have a greasy feel to it. I like the fact that they use the pot for kobe pho, it helps keep the broth hot for very long. Owner was nice, he came around to check on every table.

Excellent food!! Being vegan and having a non vegan boyfriend can sometimes be difficult but this restaurant is excellent!! Being Vietnamese, my boyfriend looks for authentic Vietnamese food and this met his expectations. There are plenty of vegan/vegetarian options. I ordered the avocado & mango spring rolls with the pho tofu veggie. The spring rolls were amazing and the pho was very flavorful. Be sure to order one of their teas, I ordered the kumquat, passion fruit with sparkling water and it was delicious!!! We will definitely be back!! P.S. Service was excellent and everyone was so friendly!!

Amazing customer service. Nice atmosphere, great pho, unique beverages, the shishito pepper cheesesticks are a must try. Only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that i asked for the cheesesticks to come with lettuce and they charged extra even though its shown with lettuce in the picture.

I'm giving 4 starts only because I've only eaten there once and can only vouch for that experience, which I honestly loved. Food was fresh, tastey and beautifully presented. Service was prompt and polite. The salmon mango salad was awesome. Packed with protein and veggies without any filler rice or noodles. Perfect for a work day lunch. Can't wait to go back and try some of the specialty drinks and other menu options.

This Vietnamese restaurant is very close by to my work. I haven't had the time to sit in the restaurant to eat, but I always order to go. It's best if you call them ahead of time and then go pick up. They always have it ready, so I'm in and out! They have much variety with their menu, but I usually get the vermicelli (bun) and I've tried a variety of them, but my favorite is beef, egg roll, and shrimp. It's always fresh and very pretty. I eat here maybe once every two weeks and it costs (what I get including drink) about $11 - $12 bucks.

Never before have I experienced such warmhearted and genuinely caring people in a restaurant. The older man and woman (possibly owners?) treated me like I was the most important person to walk through their doors. The man educated me on the menu and their specials and the woman made sure everything served to me tasted great. If you're a big pho fan, this place may not be on your #1 choice, but the combination of good people, good service, and good food will definitely keep me coming back

Very friendly & attentive service! The manager (I think?) explained the menu to us well & made sure to check on us regularly. The pho was decent and they give you a good portion of meat. I had the regular pho tai. They have nice yelp deals. The place is very nicely decorated and makes a warm environment. They have a wide variety of choices on their menu and will definitely go back to try other dishes.

Tried there Pho for the first time tonight. I was not that impressed. The pho was just average but the price was somewhat high. I don't mind paying a little more if I felt I was getting my monies worth but this place fell short of that expectation.

This is my usual lunch spot with my coworkers from work. Compared to Vietnamese restaurants around Little Saigon, it's not quite there yet but I love their service. The owner is very attentive and accommodated. He's willing to take feedback from customers and make changes to improve customer's experience. I like their imperial noodle soup, pho beef, and vermicelli combination. Recently, they've added a lot of new fusion dishes to the menu and added a lot of summer drinks. The drinks are quite refreshing for this summer heat.

I've been to this place many times before but it's been a long time. It was Monday passed the lunch hour and was still very lively. They were EXTREMELY nice. The gentlemen (maybe the owner) was so sweet and had so much info about everything in the restaurant. It seemed like he really has his heart into his business. If he isn't the owner they should give him a raise. After talking for a couple minutes I soon learned they like to put their own twist on traditional Vietnamese dishes... Which is very pleasant.

Just another average Pho restaurant surrounded by great Pho restaurants. It was cold and rainy outside. My sisters and I were cold and weary from sitting two days at St. Joseph Hospital with a very sick father. Nothing can quite soothe the soul as a bowl of warm soup. Or Pho :-) The service was mediocre at best. The restaurant only had one other table with guests so I can only surmise that this is the best you can get. Our server, sweet as she was, was very slow to take our order and even slower to deliver it. Our appetizer arrived about five minutes after the meal was served. Is this common for a Vietnamese restaurant? If so then please correct me. The Pho was good.......just good. I had the Pork, shrimp and won ton Pho. Sister had the beef Pho, hold the rare beef. Mine was just OK. The broth had good flavor but as the meal went on it took on more of the BBQ pork flavor and I didn't like it as much. The won tons were too big and the shrimp just didn't belong at all. Sister enjoyed her beef soup much more and said she would order it again. After finishing our meal we were never presented with the bill. We needed to walk up front and pay. Strange. Again, if this is common please let me know. I'm new to the Pho experience. I love it but am beginning to see the big differences from restaurant to restaurant. Like I've said in several of my reviews, if you want to succeed you need to stand out from your competition. Unfortunately Pho Hao does not.

Just your average pho place in Santa Ana. They do offer a Kobe Beef Pho that is none too special. The porkchop plate, vermicelli, and other dishes are good, but nothing to rave about. Service tho is always pretty quick.

Depending on what your looking for, I had to give this place only 2 stars. I was going to give 3, but my 9 year old said her shrimp pho lacked flavor. We went to the tmobile store few doors down...so hungry-wanted to eat pho. I don't like trying new places without reading reviews or having referrals. My kids were hungry so.we.took that chance. For me and my kids, we are used to real Vietnamese food. This is a great place if you like very little noodles in your pho. Little flavor. To me it was like imagining a Healthier taco bell-just trying to set exampe- vs a real authentic Mexican food restaurant. It has very healthy options...but real Vietnamese food is more healthier in general anyways...so this is like really diluting your water =/ But if your a health nut-this place is for you. If you really enjoy flavor in your food and pho like the pho in Garden grove- I wouldn't come here. There's plenty of drink selection-something you wouldn't find in other pho paces. =)

Extensive menu, impressive. Large restaurant, doesn't seem like any msg, and more fresher type of modern viet food. Your Westminster food but in Orange! They're known for their soups since they have a variety and don't use the same soup for everything. They keep coming up with more dishes which is great but have you seen the people here? They're geneic eaters, not authentic viet or asian eaters....think they should probably rethink their strategy. BTW, I'm in love with their new ice espresso drink....got a beta test today and it was the BOMB!!! Its a fusion of viet and jap style? Basically its like viet dripped coffee but smoother. And it'll last the whole day tasting the same, awesome! Name is TBD, my friend is thinking of calling it "Iced Saigon Expresso". You wouldn't expect this restaurant in Orange, basically right by Santa Ana. Going down the street, you can hit santa ana mall. This place reminds me of what you can find in Westminster. This plaza includes a starbucks and fresh & easy store. Pretty healthy food. Huge menu, they have specials for every day. Free wifi. Lots of tables. NO MSG!!! Awesome uh? Yeah msg pho does taste better, but I hate the food coma, dry mouth and feeling like crap after.....this is your true fresh viet food.

Used to be good but now, it sucks. Looks like new owner. Prices are more than usual but they throw in a short hair on the veggies for free.

This was once an awesome place, unfortunately the original owner sold her interest to her sister. The menu changed, prices went up a bit, and the owner can be very moody when taking your order. It's the only Pho place in this part of Orange (the one across the street closed and turned into a "Japanese" fast food place) so if you just can't get yourself to drive down the 22 freeway then you will just have to settle for this place. Food is so-so but if you are that desperate then this place will do.

Dear lord, I have never paid so much money for Vietnamese food. The beef bun (vermicelli) was tender and delicious. Unlike other pho places, Pho Hao's dishes are arranged tastefully on modern chinas. I would give this place 4 stars if it was only cheaper. I agree with Kalila's review below: non-asians, you'll be safe at the place.

Yet another Pho place that is way off the beaten path from where really good Pho is ( Little Saigon ). Some may say I am biased because I grew up very near there so almost no place will ever be as good as LS. But here is a good example of why I rarely go to these places that cater to more of the "western" variety. I have to assume that rent in this plaza is much more expensive than it would be if this place was in Westminster, hence the absurd prices for the food. However I am not one to shy away from high priced food so long as the quality and taste reflect the price. Not the case with Pho Hao. For $6.95, you get a pretty good amount of noodles and about 30% less meat than you would if you went elsewhere. I tried to order the Ox-tail Pho, but the waitress informed me that they were out of Ox-tail. No problem, Ox-tail isn't something that is commonly offered so I was content with the usual brisket. I then ordered Vietnamese Soy Milk ( Sua Dau Nanh ) only to find out that they were out of that as well! Ok, getting mildly annoyed as no respectable Vietnamese chow house should be without soy milk. Moments later the vegetable plate comes out and I notice an unusually liberal amount of Cilantro on it-but no basil? So of course I request some basil leaves which is (IMO) one of the key ingredients to making Pho so aromatic and delicious- and she tells me that they are out of basil also. By this point I am about ready to leave in search of a more competent example of how a pho restaurant should be run, however my grumbling stomach reminded me of why I was here to begin with. So I ate my pho which had enough MSG for 2 bowls of pho, and drove back to work whilst daydreaming about what good pho tastes like and how much I am going to enjoy it when have some. This place is awesome if you have no idea what Vietnamese food is. Hao the Pho do places like Pho Hao stay in business is beyond me... Pros: Friendly service, clean restaurant Cons: MSG, low stock, high prices

egg rolls = food poisoning...in 30 minutes! we were hungry and are new to the neighborhood but didn't want to go too far for pho. so we tried this place b/c of the vacinity to home. the egg rolls came out fast so we gobbled it up. i didn't notice anything diff but my husband commented that it was a little weird - like a potato-like texture for what should've been the pork. i got the bung bo hue and hubby got the pho special. those were pretty good..... until it all came back up as soon as we got home. too bad for all of you guys who frequent here b/c we're never coming back.

Tonight I learned that Pho Hao means good soup... And they were right! I came here tonight for dinner. I noticed this place this morning as I was doing a Starbucks run. Pho Hao is located in a shopping strip mall where The Good Guys store use to be. On the corner off of S. Main St. and W. Chapman. This place was very clean. We are greeted as soon as we walked in and we were seated immediately. I ordered the pho ga along with spring shrimp rolls. My son ordered the wok stir-fried chicken. Our food arrives fast and we went to town on our meal. I am no pho expert but I thought that the broth was a little bland. So, I added tons of spice. It was yummy after I added all the spice. The shrimp rolls were delicious. My son loved his plate. His meal came out with steamed rice and vegetables and a soup that was tasty. The couple that runs this place are so sweet. Very helpful. My son had some questions about some of the dishes and the waiter answered and even suggested a few dishes to him. Unfortunately the waiter does not have any idea as to what a picky eater my son is. So in the end I choose his dish. He loved it.... We will be coming back for sure. They open at 10am and close at 9pm.. I couldn't finish my pho... It was just sooo much! And the best part is that they don't skip out on the extra chicken in the pho! One thing that sucks is that they only have canned beverages. So, no refills!

Went there for lunch. It wasn't too packed inside when I went. The waitress was really rushing us with our order, and I guess it worked because I ended up buying an extra egg roll order when she asked me. The prices are reasonable, and the food is decent for lunch.

When I'm too lazy to dive to Little Saigon, I go here. It's under new management with a "new chef from France." They must be financing his plane tickets because the prices mysteriously elevated when they " reopened." It's still good, fast, authentic, and not-too-greasy. Four fantastic features I look for in a Vietnamese place. The other thing is that unlike many Pho houses, they actually have quality Bun. Spring rolls are average. Cafe Sua Da is ridiculously strong, in fact despite my incredible tolerance for such things, this cup kept me up all night. A nice choice for Com Viet Nam in Orange :)

Despite some management changes, it has been consistently good through it all as well as large, open, sunny. Like the food. Don't claim to be an authority and I go for the seafood soup, so no judgement of the ox-tail folks! Seafood is tasty! I go back often.

  • Madison L.

First of all, this place is on the pricey side & it isn't all that great. The Pho soup was very bland, but since they were under new management, I think they were testing it out because they asked us how the pho was. The eggrolls were mediocre, and tasted as if they were just fresh out of the microwave. Even though this is the closest PHO place to my house, I will never eat here again and willing to drive another 15-20 mins to another PHO restaurant.

Good food, reasonable prices. That alone gets it a solid three stars. Friendly and quick service gets it an extra one. Very popular at lunch, but I've never had to wait for a table - their dining area is large enough to accommodate the rush.

I frequented this place every once in awhile because it is so close to my bf's place. The first time we went, it was great! My bf is sensitive to MSG and they advertised saying they don't have MSG (or hardly any) in their soups so we decided to give it a go. The couple that owned the place was friendly and explained how they have this really expensive filtration system for their water so their water is really clean and good (it was!) and how they use a fraction of MSG compared to the amount most pho places use. We came in with a coupon that they put in the local mailers. So the coupon was what brought us in. When we found out about the water filtration (I hate the taste of tap water) and the wayyy less MSG, we were thrilled because it's so close and it indeed was yummy. We came a few more times (w/ a coupon) until we noticed the wife was no longer there. There was another Vietnamese lady. But the husband was still there. They said she was the sister and that the wife went to Vietnam for vacation or something. Okay whatever. So we eat, and it's fine... Now it's been awhile and the og lady never came back. So now I begin to think the couple split and the restaurant was his. We still came in even though they stopped putting in coupons and then we noticed their menu changed a bit. Okay, whatever, again. We probably came in a couple more times and now this brings me to yesterday. It's been a good month or two now and when we went in, it was ANOTHER lady!! And servers we've never seen before. I swear something weird is going on with the management. Okay, onto the food. Now this may have been in my head, but I think the soup was more oily than ever. And my bf said that he could taste the MSG this time. We still enjoyed our meal for the most part, but I'm telling you... something fishy is going on................. I think I would have given this place 3 or 4 originally, but now it's gone down to 2.5 (I did 3 because this was fairly a new discovery that their quality has gone down).

Went there with a few co-workers for lunch today and found it very mediocre, are the prices high because it's in Orange and not Westminster? I had a large bowl of egg noodles with 4 baby shrimps, 2 measly wontons and 3 pieces of super thinly slices of BBQ pork, if it was any thinner it would have given me a paper cut, the meat filling for the wontons was not good at all, I think they put a lot of MSG because it had a weird aftertaste, the price I paid: $7.95! Holy crap, I would have gotten a better bowl of noodle soup in Westminster for nearly half the price. Thank God this lunch was on the company, I hate paying good money for bad food. The place was clean, the staff was friendly but the food needs help, I don't think we're coming back. Sorry Pho Hao, we're just not meant for each other.

Pho Hao was a great overall experience. The service was friendly, attentive, and quick; enhancing the ambiance of a casual and modern restaurant. I ordered a vegan pho. It's usually hard to come by some good vegan pho so it was a delight to try this restaurant out. On top of that we got free watermelon and strawberry mint refreshments for checking in, and it was seriously out of this world good- perfect for summer!

I just visited this place two days ago with my family. The place is clean (and so is the restroom) and all the staff was really nice. We were the first to arrive and after we ordered, the place quickly filled up. The food came quickly and everything was presented nicely. We ordered three boba drinks; taro, jasmine, and matcha. I think jasmine was the best (I don't like taro so I am not giving my objective opinion). We had shrimp pho with chicken broth. This is the first time to be asked the broth preference. We had the grilled chicken and rice plate. It was with breast meat and it was clean. It reminded me of teriyaki chicken instead of Vietnamese food, I'm OK with that too. Someone ordered a plate with beef, chicken and shrimp with rice. We ordered two types of spring rolls. The peanut sauce was a little unusual and the rolls were smaller than what I am use to - think of the size of a cigar. All in all everyone liked their food. I would definitely go back.

Such a cute little place. Came here with my sister a few hours before closing. The owner is so sweet and made sure I got my free pho after 8pm once I checked in. I ordered a chicken pho, and it was good. We also got almond milk tea boba, so yummy!! Definitely will come back.

Love stopping by for a quick bowl of soup. Typically I drop in on a lunch break. Grab a table for one, order a regular size bowl of Spicy Imperial Soup, whip out my phone, and catch up on social media. The piping hot soup arrives at my table in less than 5 minutes and is accompanied by fresh limes, mint leaves, sprouts, jalapenos, and spicy chili oil. Boy oh boy does this soup hit the spot every single time. It's reasonably priced at $7.95 and I always order a cup of iced coffee. Be careful, the coffee is strong and will have you wide awake after the first few addicting sips. FYI there is a $10 minimum charge to use a debit or credit card.

Oh man, I came back tonight and tried their American Kobe oxtail Pho and that thang was bomb.com ! The meat was so tender and the unique way they serve the Pho was pretty interesting: Pho broth served in a stone pot with the noodles separate, and it is up to you to incorporate all the ingredients together. The broth was so hot and delicious and stayed hot throughout the meal. I definitely recommend this.

The first time my friend took me here, I was amazed with how good the Chicken Pho was here. After only having Pho once before and not enjoying it, my friend persuaded me to give it another chance. The Free Range Chicken Pho is my favorite thing to order here. I could just taste the difference in the chicken here compared to other Pho restaurants. Every time I order it, I am satisfied and happy that it is so appetizing. Today I tried their Limeade for the first time. One word, refreshing! I haven't had anything that quench thirsting in quite awhile. The owner here is very friendly and is always smiling which is nice. What I dislike about this place though is how long it takes to get your check. Last time my sister and I waited an hour after asking twice. I had to finally walk up to the register. It ended up taking another ten minutes or so to separate the checks. Today was the same thing. There usually aren't that many customers when I come in so I wouldn't see what the problem would be. Again, I had to walk up to pay. The owner's wife I think was handling the register. As I gave her my card, she ripped it right out of my hand. I guess she isn't as friendly as her husband. Overall, this place is pretty good. I just got fed up with always waiting so long to just get a check. I probably eat quicker than it takes to receive my bill. I recommend the food, just not fully the customer service .

3 and a half stars is ridiculous. Don't believe that false rating. A three and a half star place does not have the chef come out to give you samples. A three and a half star place does not use actual kumquats in their drinks. A three and a half star place does not offer a siracha sauce that's both cool and spicy. I had the Kobe beef combo that comes with rare Kobe, pho noodles separate from the soup, and the standard lime, bean sprouts and herbs. It was amazing to taste the difference between well cooked Kobe and lightly cooked Kobe. This place is a hidden gem that needs to be tried before you believe the false 3 and a half star reviews!

I love this restaurant because I can go with vegan, vegetarian, and non-vegetarian friends and everyone will be satisfied. I eat their vegan dishes and my friends eat the pho with meat. No problem! Everyone came with me likes their dish and wants to come back. The vegan pad thai that I had was delicious. So was the Pho Umami. The spring rolls and crispy rolls were just all right. I had better. I definitely will be back and try other items on the menu.

The employees are super nice and very welcoming, portions are nice. I ordered the pork chop with rice and it was very filling and my boyfriend had the pho with rare steak. He nearly consumed the entire bowl. I highly recommend the milk tea. Overall, the food isn't top of mind when I want the best Vietnamese dishes, but the customer service is really good and I would definitely come back.

It was very busy when I walked in by myself, seemed like a group of 30 or so business people and a few families. The 2 waiters on the floor had their hands full. Nonetheless, one of the gentlemen who looked like a manager seated me promptly with a smile and asked for my order so he could bring out my food before the larger party. I was thoroughly impressed with his service. Had my food out within 5 minutes and now I'm writing this review with a happy tummy and a great experience :) I got the build your own pho: rare steak and tendon, $7.95 I believe, great value and worth the price. There are obviously cheaper places but this place has quality AND service. Definitely deserved a good review as my 1st time visit.

It was a cold winter night and I was craving something warm - I thought, "pho will do the trick..." so I started searching. I found out that one of my friends from college reviewed this place and I decided to give it a try. walked in a few minutes before closing but they didn't rush me like other small shops usually do. i was greeted by a very nice guy who helped me decide what type of pho I wanted. he answered all the questions I had and was patient while I decided on the combo meats bowl. he then gave my order slip to another guy who rung me up. he was also very nice and welcoming. i felt like i had been a frequent diner here for years. great customer service. on to the pho. price of the bowls were around $7.50 for regular and $8,.95 for large - before tax. i took the food home and had to reheat it b/c the weather was cold outside and i like my soup piping hot. the broth was very tasty, they gave me a lot of noodles, meat, bean sprouts, etc. the nice thing about pho is, you can put in what you want and not what you don't want without seeming difficult when you order the food b/c you put it all in yourself. there was a little too much broth though so i had to put some of the broth in another bowl. I kinda ended up putting 25% of the broth and noodles into the other bowl so I could put in the stuff I wanted. this wasn't a problem - I liked having ample broth. at the end of it all, i had my "something warm" craving satisfied. this is my new go to place whenever i crave pho.

Pho Hao is able to get away with its mediocrity because of its location and the overwhelming options that Pho Hao has to offer. If Pho Hao was in Garden Grove, it probably wouldn't do so great. The broth was bland, but the amount of noodles made up for it. As far as vegetables went, the basil and bean sprouts were fresh which is a plus. I had to create some sort of flavor by adding copious amounts of sriracha and lime. We also ordered hu tieu which is a different type of broth. I wish I ordered what my girlfriend ordered because it was more flavorful. What kinda sucked was the fact that we were charged an additional .50 cents just to change our noodles to the thicker kind. Anywhere else would be free. Oh well. If you're craving Vietnamese food, I would suggest driving the extra 10 minutes down the 22 to get better food.

Pho is definitely one of my favorite foods, so whenever I get a craving, it needs to be fulfilled asap. Found this place on yelp, got the rare steak pho and a thai iced tea. I was pleased and came back here twice afterwards! I liked how the noodles weren't stuck together like other places I've been to. The broth wasn't too salty and they put an ample amount of meat. Super quick and friendly service!

What a great find driving down Chapman looking for a place to eat lunch! This place is super clean and service is fast. The broth is also not super salty or has MSG (if they do, then it's very little). The broth is very yummy and I ate everything. It is a little on the expensive side since the bowl of pho is not really that big and there is not a lot of noodles. But given the location and prompt service, I will definitely be back for weekday lunch.

Went for a Vietnamese sandwich to go. Good ambience and decor, super friendly and attentive staff, but sandwich only so-so. Barbecued meat tasted warmed up or microwaved, but the French baguette was super. They use a very spicy dressing in the sandwich; my guess is that it's a chipotle-mayo dressing.

Many traditional foods served nontraditionally. There are items that are thai or other. They serve banh MI with French fries. They have regular American style lemonade albeit fresh squeeze and no preserved lime which is the true Vietnamese lemonade. The nontraditional food takes a bit getting used to..Ambience is great.

It was late night looking for a new place to try and we found this place through yelp we walked in, and there was probably 2 tables with people so I was a little nervous about this place. We told the sever it was our first time there and she was extremely helpful she let us try all of her taro Boba milk teas and they were good couldn't decide for one. We ordered a chicken and beef phò spring rolls and a yazmin tea and 2 taro tea bobas she mentioned that if we checked into yelp we would get a free meal on a section of the menu so we ordered another soup for our friend and it was an actual full serving plate and not just a small complementary apetizer. The place had wall mirrors and lit up vases with nice flowers in them they were very pretty the place seemed clean and the owner was sitting 2 tables over so we got to see that he had good communication with his employees and treated them with respect. I would definitely come back!

Not too bad :) I strolled in there with a ravenous craving for Pho and a black hole sized appetite. Only had a mango the whole day. Lol. Also, this place is a nice change from all the fast food joints around Orange. When I walked in on Sunday around 3pm, the ambiance of the restaurant was peaceful with only two other tables being occupied. The layout of the restaurant has an open floor space, with vertical bamboo panels, mirrors and the frosted glass squares on the window gives the restaurant an intimate feeling, since the windows face the parking lot of a busy grocery store, starbucks, an optometrist and sandwich place. Ya don't have to worry about anyone from the parking lot staring awkwardly at you while you eat. Unless they try to peek in through the glass. I went straight for their Vegan menu and was quite pleased to know that they have a variety of cruelty-free choices (two stars! although i think this really deserves all the stars. wont get carried away though). The owner came by and chatted with me a bit (another star! made me feel specialsss). And the only server in the restaurant came by to take my order. He was a nice lad. I think his name is Pablo or Juan. Sorry! I dont recall. Onward...being the daredevil I am, I indulged in their Salted Coconut Cream Thai Iced Tea. YUM. heh....and Veggie Egg Rolls. Everrrything was delicious (4th star). From the large, steamy, brothy, juicy Veggie Pho to the crispy eggrolls with delectable tarot and creamy, smooth and refreshing Thai Iced Tea. Business began to pick up around 5 p.m with the families. Two other employees came in and they didnt seem very happy to be there. I smiled at both of them and they kept frowning. Too bad, would have been cool to see them happy too. I think they were the owners' daughters? All in all, I left satiated and tranquil. Thanks Pho Hao!

HORRIBLE!! I'm sitting here now at table #5 and just finished a nice little exchange with boss lady. So if you check in through Yelp, you get a BOGO FREE offer for a variety of drinks. When I presented this to my waiter he went to get boss lady, who was very hesitant in permitting me to redeem it. She acted like she's never seen the offer in her life, like I was trying to pull a fast one over her. She called 2 additional people from the back kitchen to verify to authenticity of the offer. Yea lady, I spent all night coding and programing to make a fake coupon to your shitty restaurant! Smh.. Any who, she fnally, but very reluctantly, ok'd for a waiter to make the drinks. As he's getting started, I asked him to make it in togo cups for me, he said sure. BUT WAIT!!! Faster than a speeding train, boss lady came running over to see what the heck was going on!! She told him no, it can not be made in togo cups, he gave her a puzzled look like huh? She then came over to my table and explained the offer didn't allow it, that it's meant for people to dine in together, that it had to he finished in the restaurant. (NONE of which is stated in the offer.) All I could do was laugh I tell you! I asked her what would be the difference if they made it, and I then I asked for a togo cup. Oh, you bet your ass she had a response for this one as well! She says to me, "you see we make these offers to advertise to get people to come in not to..blah blah blah..." I zoned out, stood up getting ready to walk out when suddenly she says, "I'll allow it this one time." This place is being ran by a cheap and petty individual that lacks any knowledge of this thing in America we call "customer service." Her decision to rant and rave about something so trivial has turned me off from ever coming back here. Also, none of what she said was even stated in the offer, she was pulling shit out of her ass, which so happens to be where she talks out of aswell! The pho I had? Made with bricks of salt, it was soo salty, I needed BOTH those drinks to quench my thirst afterwards. stay away from here people!!!!

This is a good spot to go to when your in the mood for soup. The meats are fresh and the broth is not overly salty and the service is fast and friendly. My husband took me here after going with his co-workers because he felt that it was a decent pho place. I really enjoyed our meal and liked the fact that I was able to customize my pho, as I no longer enjoy eating the odds and ends of the intestines after the anatomy classes I've had to suffer through. This place feels cleaner than the typical pho place you would find in San Gabriel Valley, and the taste and amount is just as good. The entire table of 5 next to us ordered filet mignon which came on a hot sizzling platter along with a fried egg. It smelled so good, and for 10.95, I'll definitely go back and try that next time. We got fresh spring rolls which were a bit disappointing and reminded us that we should never get these anywhere except at Brodard in Garden Grove! Their thai iced tea was a good price for the amount and was not watered down like some other places. We also got the flan after a discussion with the server about whether flan was spanish or french. This vietnamese version was kind of bland. We attempted to converse with our server several times, but she didn't always seem to understand us and was very quiet, but polite. The "owner" seemed super friendly and came around to ask us if we liked our food. She also informed us that the filet mignon was a new addition to their menu. I can see myself going back here often.

Under new management, yet again. This time with more efficient staff but slightly increased prices, which are worth paying given how disorganized and slow it was before.

Pho Hao is a Vietnamese restaurant located on the corner of Chapman and Main. Its a sit down restaurant but also serves pick up orders. I myself had only had Vietnamese food once before and wanted to try something different. I was in a hurry so I ordered to-go even though the woman behind the counter told me sitting down was the best way to experience their food. I chose the beef soup because it was recommended as one of there better dishes. There were several different cuts of beef in the soup giving it some variety. Pho Hao gave me more than enough noodles for the soup. The broth is a dark salty with a classic Vietnamese spice. The soup was fairly good, however I have come to terms with the fact that I am not a huge fan of Vietnamese food. If you are a lover of Vietnamese than Pho Hao is a great inexpensive restaurant with large portions. The food was prepared very quick as well if your in a hurry, and want to grab something new and different.

good lunch spot. happy and courteous servers that always recognize us. i get the vermicelli w/ beef. been coming here for almost 2 years and only once was the beef not up to par. my friends all get the regular or large Pho special and a vietnamese coffee. the prices went up a little bit but it's a quick friendly lunch spot. love the thai iced tea.

I recently started a new job. I was saddened to find that there were not a lot of non-chain restaurants around. On my way to a Filipino restaurant I found Pho Hao. I decided I needed to try the Vietnamese restaurant in my new area. I sat down and was quickly handed a menu...immediately followed by 'What would you like to order'. Having had no chance to look at the menu that was just handed to me I said I would need a minute. The waiter left and came back thirty seconds later (while I was still CLEARLY looking at the menu) to ask again what I would like to order. I told him I was not yet ready. The third time was the charm and I ordered a Bun (vermicelli noodles) dish with pork, egg rolls, and shrimp. I decided to order it to go. I got back to my desk and ate....it was actually pretty good. The shrimp was cold and flavorless, but the pork was great. The egg rolls were different than I was used to (I think they had a mushroom I was not familiar with in them). Their fish sauce was pretty good, sweet and tangy, but not fishy enough. Their noodles were actually the best part. They tasted great. I will likely come here again for lunch, but always with a bit of sadness that I am now not close enough to eat at my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in OC (Vietnam's Pearl), which had become a part of my normal work routine.

I like what Vy T. said and totally agree. They have a huge dining area and very spacious but I also wondered why I've never seen this place swarming with heads. I paid $5 something for spring rolls they only gave me 2 stinkin spring rolls, and they were smaller than usual. Oodles of Noodles in Cypress charges $4.30 for 2 spring rolls (which are off the hook by the way). I remember getting 3 spring rolls from this Pho Hao before but for some reason the lady only gave me 2 this time but at the same price. I don't know if it was a mistake or what. This happened on 8/28/09. There was a beautiful young woman there who was nice and talkative. The older women is a bit more stiff. The customer service is good. My husband got diarrhea off the pho steak and will not go back. I will not return because they want to charge $5 something for 2 stinkin tiny spring rolls. There is too much competition out there to have to deal with this place.

I used to come here all the time for lunch with my co-workers. The service was fast, the prices were good, and the food was even better. After their change in management, the prices went way up, and the service went WAY DOWN. I can still walk in and find a seat immediately even during the lunch rush, but for the third time in a row my friend and I were utterly ignored as other customers (hate to say it here, but male customers in suits and ties) not only ordered before us, but were served their food ahead of us as we still waited to even place our orders. The third time it happened it was just unacceptable and obviously meant as an insult. My friend eventually had to stand up, go to the counter and ask to be served, and even then the waiter acted incredibly annoyed that he actually had to take our orders. The food is really good, but the servers are just misogynistic asses. Peace out, Pho Hao.

I was craving some Pho and I asked my cubicle neighbor if she knew where I could get some. She turned up her lip and said, "What's that?". I quickly remembered that I work with the people that lived in the town from Footloose and logged onto my good buddy Yelp. This place is definitely no frills. Like, you can see them refilling the water pitchers from the tap. The Pho here is pretty good and they use very little MSG so you can actually function during the rest of your day without having that dreaded Pho coma where everything is moving slowly and you're just stuck. There's other stuff on the menu but I typically stick to the Pho. I really like that when I went here with a group of people, they split our checks for us automatically. As you can see, I'm a fan of places that can split checks. I just hate that awkward moment at the end of a meal when it's time to itemize and divide cards up. I'm sure there are other places nearby that are just as good if not better. But for now, I dig this place.

Definitely way better than average pho but short of outstanding. Had the rare steak and the flavor of the broth was so good, I forgot to put in the herbs for extra flavor.

Very mediocre, Pho has no place outside of Westminster. If you take a first date here, you will not get laid because she'll see right through to what a dumbass you are. *Service was non-existent and the thought of leaving a tip didn't cross my mind. They brought everything out within 5 minutes then left me alone. And by that I mean they didn't offer any refills and I wasn't even given the check. Once in a while they would look over at me, but I was never serviced past the initial order. Nobody was friendly, but nobody was rude either. *The pho itself was...well, it wasnt bad, but it wasn't great. Certainly wasn't worth the price. It looked like it was thrown together, and the noodles were kinda wadded-up at first. Some people said their broth was cold, I didn't have that problem so I guess it could have been worse. I also had the spring rolls, which in my opinion were some of the most tasteless things ever sampled..The ends were hard and for some reason, the peanut sauce was cold. I usually spend about an hour at the place I usually eat, but I was bored and ready to leave after 20 minutes here. *Atmosphere was stale and *definitely* caters to the lowest common denominator...It looked run-down and like it hadnt been maintained well. Out of the dozen people in there, none were asian and most of them looked rather uneducated. The guy next to me was a fucking slob and had no experience with zesting up his soup because he was just dumping it on top of the sprouts. *Prices were pretty rotten too. The bill came to $15 which speaks for itself. Even the best of the best Pho and Spring Rolls in Westminster is less.

Food poisoning, within three hours of finishing dinner, stomach cramps and then the full double barreled GI tract evacuation for a night and the following day! Just awful. Staff hygiene or reheated food? I had the shrimp and chicken baked noodles. Nothing digested and I felt bloated immediately as my body reacted. Thank goodness I did throw up before sleep or more of it would have gotten inside me!

Their free range chicken pho is delicious. The broth is very flavorful before you even add any of the add ins. Get the extra large for some left overs or to share.

This place used to better. They must have let it slip. The Pho is ok. The spring rolls recipe was changed: no more mint inside, Instead cilantro. Service is good if they see you have a big order. Found a new place with better soup.

Great food for the price. Owner and staff are friendly. I am laughing at some of the comments on here. Some of you have expect 100.00 per plate treatment for 8.00 lol I am pleased with the place will return.

Only had the BBQ beef spring rolls and the Shrimp & Pork spring rolls. The BBQ beef had flavor and was not bad. The shrimp & pork was full of lettuce & noodles. Very thinly sliced shrimp and barely any pork. Both spring rolls were large compared to basic spring rolls (2 for $5) but mainly filled w/fillers like noodles & lettuce. A bit disappointing.

Came here a while back and had the Duoi Bo (Oxtail) pho with Chin (Brisket). Out comes my bowlS. At first I was confused as why I was getting 3 bowls with my order, it all started making sense really quickly. The broth of the main bowl was very bland and really clean (no oily presence on the top layer). The reason for this is they want to give you a healthy alternative (didn't ask but it made sense in my head). The bowls of meat, however, had a very thick layer of love (fat), so much so it looked like a bowl of Nuc Beo (fat skimmed off the top of pho pots and served with green onions). So you may add as much fat as you would like. I like this concept but the base of the broth seemed a little tasteless. As if they used old bones or over used the bones and had no flavor. So to add flavor you add fat and it just became a greasy mess. The Duoi Bo was red in color which says there has to be some sort of salt additive (like with Corned Beef) to supplement flavor like MSG. This is particularly sad because if you pay over $10 for a bowl. You should at least get the good stuff. Pho Hao has a great opportunity to sell a great product for people who are willing to pay more, however, they just come up short seemingly trying to cut corners to make a buck. But when making money is the sole reason you're in business, it seems to show. I'm a realist and I understand we all must make a living, but I also love food and have to speak the truth. Some comedian once said, "You get them on the comeback man!" and sad to say, Pho Hao won't get me on the come back because you failed to offer the goods on the front end.

Definitely NOT one of those "what the pho" places! Service is fantastic here. Every single service staff member is very attentive. One of the waiters saw the look on my face from across the restaurant after I bit into a very potent mini chili pepper. . . and quickly came to my rescue with a pitcher of water in hand. We started with the pork & shrimp dumplings, which were ehh so-so. I had the Spicy Imperial Pho that you can customize the level of spicy-ness. I tried to get as bold and order the spiciest, which I usually do. But it was manageable, despite the one episode. All-in-all, it's a good place. I'm a fan and will be returning next time I'm in the area.

Despite my bad to-go experience, my bf insisted on coming here because he's too lazy to drive far for pho. The service here is really good and that's extremely rare for a pho restaurant so yay for them. The food is pretty good so I don't mind coming here. Surprisingly I ordered to go again and I had all the condiments and utensils packed with it and they put it together pretty fast too.

Delicious food, excellent quality fresh ingredients, and wonderful service. As good a meal as my family has enjoyed in many a month. After egg rolls and spring rolls to start, we had two big bowls of soup, and a beef and a noodle main dish. Our server was kind enough to make us free desert milkshakes as a treat. Couldn't have been happier with the food or the service. Restaurant was clean, location easy. Definitely will be back anytime I am in the area, too notch.

Why are there no good pho places in the great city of Orange? Do the Orangenites really have to drive all the way to Westminster to get a good bowl of pho? My friend lives here and almost always we'll want to get pho but are too lazy to make the not so bad trek to Little Saigon. I know I know. Lazy pigs. Since we decided that anything outside Westminster would be nothing more than decent we searched for the closest pho restaurant and lo and behold, Pho Hao was right down the street from my friend's apartment. There was a huge banner outside advertising a special $3.99 take out special. Hm...AND there were only two other parties inside. It wasn't looking too good but what the heck. I was still willing to give it a try (and NOT open to driving to Bolsa). What I liked about this place was their option of building your own pho. You can either add 3 items or 4. I always have the special request of just having tendon and tripe but it wasn't a special request here! I got the build your own pho with meatball, tendon, and tripe. We always got an order of egg rolls. It came with fresh lettuce wraps, sliced cucumber, and pickled carrots and daikon. I don't see the pickled stuff at many restaurants anymore so I was pleasantly surprised to see a small serving of it here. You can either get the chicken or the shrimp egg rolls but we played it safe and went with the chicken. There wasn't anything special about them but they were tasty and not as greasy. Our pho came out shortly after. Kind of oily. I could see my glossy plastic spoon shining back at me! At first glance a regular size may look small but it actually fills you up. You get a good amount of noodles but not so much of the meat. I literally got one meatball that was cut in half along with slim trimmings of tripe and tendon. I wasn't impressed at all. While the broth was on the oily side it still did hit the spot. I was expecting something bland and watered down but it was decent. Their water didn't taste like dirty tap and the glasses looked like new. The service was above average. The sweet man was very hospitable and gave us a lot of suggestions and took the time to explain some things to us. Check out their brochure on the free range chickens they use!

After a long day of studying at the Starbucks in the corner of the shopping center, I headed over to grab some comfort food. It was a pretty cold and windy night so Pho sounded like it would definitely hit the spot. It didn't. First off, we walked in and there were only 2 parties dining in the restaurant so we walked in to sit. The front counter lady told us we can could sit near the front of the restaurant by the door. I wasn't too happy about that since it was pretty cold outside and each time the door opens you could feel the draft. Then we ordered our food and it came out fairly quickly. The pho was mediocre. Not bad, but not great. For the price, I've had wayyyyyy better.

This is a good spot right next to chapman university! The service is always on point and the chicken pho is tasty. The crab and shrimp spring rolls are fire, I recommend trying them out! Sometimes they even give out free samples of new drinks which is always a plus. Overall a solid place to eat.

Decent pho, quick service, lots of menu options, but the prices are definitely more than you'd pay in Westminster. The non-pho dishes - house fried rice, pork dishes, etc. - are decent as well but way too greasy. You'll leave here satisfied - especially on a cold, winter day - but overall it's pretty forgettable. Downsides include an ocassional funky smell, what appears to be a non-sanitary way of pounding things on the floor in the kitchen (Breaking up ice? Pounding chicken? I'm not sure what it was that I saw), and soda only by the can.

12:18 pm - Nice staff very quick to help if you need something. The inside of this place looks pretty big and nice it doesn't look run down. I order the pho beef and fried-rice combination pretty good but average to the other pho shop I been too. Would I come here yeah for sure would I recommend to friends yes for a quick fix of pho but for really good pho mabe not.

This is the best Pho in Orange! They have a whole vegan and vegetarian menu plus a meat menu, if you're out with meat eaters. Vegan broth on request and even vegan thai teas! The first time we went the owner realized we were vegan and brought us a sample of the thai tea! That's good customer service. The staff is so nice and attentive. We've been coming here weekly for almost a year now. We never have to wait too long for food and they even do quick to go orders. Couldn't rave enough about how much I love this place.

So you may want to tout that the pho here is free of MSG, and that everything is "natural" but so what if it does not taste good? Pho got a film of greasy oil as soon as the first blush of heat was off the bowl. Worse still was the order of sui mai. It had a funky layer of burnt sesame oil flavor that stunk up our table. Our search for Pho continues...

Pretty good pho here. Not too expensive either. It is dead most of the time and there is a lot of room. Good place to bring a big group and not have to wait to be seated. Love trying new foods and trying out new things? go here.

Ordered here for a quick pickup. I ordered a combination pho with all sorts of meat inside, including meatballs and some other cut of meat I couldn't identify. Either way it was decent, though the broth could've been more rich for my taste. I did appreciate that the soup was still hot served in the to-go containers unlike some of the other pho places that I order to go. The portions were a good size and so was the price. Veggie spring rolls were good, as were the egg rolls, but they weren't great. I would come back if I wasn't moving away from the area....

Yummy Oxtail Pho and Delicious Organic Cafe Sua Da (Ice Coffee)...in Orange? ~1st Visit Driving down Chapman, I saw the store front and thought I would stop by. The first time I was greeted by a very charming lady (Nhung), and a dapper gentleman (Thomas). I asked if they had Cafe Sua Da. They assured me it was good. A bit pricey compared to Bolsa at 2.75, but this is not Bolsa. Bolsa is a $2.00 car ride away from here. This is probably the best Cafe Sua Da I have had outside of Bolsa. ~2nd Visit I returned a second time and was greeted by Dominique. We entered into a lengthy conversation about their Cafe Sua Da. This time she dropped an ice cold cup of Organic Cafe Sua Da in front of me. This was a first and it was tasty, too! I am a sucker for good coffee! The flavor was of the roast . It was full and very well balanced. ~3rd Visit-A Charm! Third visit, Thomas and Dominique are there. I order the Oxtail Pho and of course the Cafe Sua Da. The broth is not heavy and must have very little MSG. I mean it..very little. If you are accustomed to pho with lots of msg, this will taste a bit different. Fresh and Healthy are good words to describe it. The broth is flavorful. There are three huge pieces of oxtail that are as tender as you can imagine. I tried to pick one up and the meat just pealed from the bone. Yum! yelp.com/biz_photos/Hjas… I had finished my meal and Dominique came over with two glass dishes of flan, pulled up a seat and had flan with me... Wow! How cool is that? The flan was elegant in presentation and delicious in taste! The conversation was just as good, as we talked about their food and dishes. This is total 5 star in my book. yelp.com/biz_photos/Hjas… Apparently, these are all family members who own this place. They are very open for feedback on their food. They are passionate about their business and care what the customers think. I never felt this way at Pho 79! Customer Service is a total five star. Dominique, Nhung and Thomas are great hosts and make this place a gem. They treat you like family. Totally cool people! Restaurant is clean and spacious. Plenty of Parking. I will re-post when I try more dishes here and see if I can up the star rating. It is hard to put too many stars when I have only had the Cafe Sua Da and Oxtail..but they were great. A very great experience and glad I found them! Hmm, I wonder what I will order next?? Price: I read the other posts on here. Sure, Bolsa is great. But, this is not Bolsa and it offers a great solution if you are in the area and don't want to drive far. Also, the place is huge. Great Food, No Waiting, No Rushing, Great Family Atmosphere, Easy Parking and they take credit cards!

i guess i'm not a big fan of "healthy" pho. personally, i prefer the pho places that have the hearty broth, bring on that msg. i ordered the regular well-done brisket and tendon. most other pho places serve much more noodle and meat for a much lower price. the spring rolls were ok, also a little on the smaller side.

Yo, seriously we need to talk about this place... This used to be the SPOT!! Decent pho this side of GG, and still open when church lets out on Wednesdays. Why Jesus, Why was this place open tonight? We get there and as usual the staff is pretty irritable because we usually show up about 45 minutes before closing, they quickly force us to order drinks and then they set up our bill and everything is hunky dory until they deliver my food. Just after the lady dropped off my bowl I look to my right and say something to my friend sitting next to me, that's when I caught something out of the corner of my eye... Reflexively, I looked back behind me and saw the world's biggest COCKROACH crawling up the register stand... Now normally in situations like this, people would for sure exaggerate the size of the creature, but seriously, on some real levels bro, this thing was legit the length of my middle finger...Straight up, Fear Factor big... I turned back around to see 4 men at another table who had also seen the bug, and noticed me noticing the bug staring at me. we had a moment, I felt it.... It was that moment where your brain tries to process the fact that your worst dining nightmare has Legit come true, and you have to quickly decide whether or not this situation is appropriate for finger waving and neck rolling. Well, praise the Lord for my friends (and spiritual fruits), because they calmed me down, and we prayed a SERIOUS blessing over the food.... Thank God that our bowls were roach free. we decided we are NEVER EVER EVER EVER eating there again. The real issue however, is that when that table of dudes told the owner lady about the monstrous roach, the first thing she said was "oh it must have come from outside." then she never mentioned it to my table or apologized...Like, legit she just pretended that it wasn't a thing that JUST happened..... TRICK, WHAT?!?!?! For sure if that were any other place, management would have sodomized us with apologies, and free dessert offers and whatever else to at least attempt to placate us.... The staff tonight however, did not... currently I am overwhelmed with disgust for this place and quite frankly rather apoplectic with anger at the moment... It is more than safe to say that I will never eat here again and I will ALWAYS tell people about my experience here tonight as I will Not stand by and watch people unknowingly treat themselves to sub standard dining experience. Boom! you can view their vio;ations here.... Note that the health department cited the evidence of vermin as a minor violation. You're welcome foodinspections.ocgov.co…

Came here for lunch and got a Bowl of the Beef Pho...found the broth to be just average. I ordered the large bowl and the bowl was large but not a lot of noodles or meat in the bowl. For $8 I would expect more. Probably won't come back again.

overpriced for a regular bowl...broth is not as good as others ive tried, broth was very cloudy and not as hot (temperature wise) as i would get my regular pho... i think they need to crank down their AC, made my soup cold quick--fast. friendly staff...

Friendly staff, fast service, clean facility, and good food - Qualities I look for in a restaurant. Plus its the one of the only Vietnamese restaurants near my office! I've been coming here for some time now and clean & good factor has always been consistent. The only dishes I ever get here are pho and the rice vermicelli bowls. However, on their menu, instead of bun thit nuong, it says pork noodle salad. And instead of presenting it in a bowl, where the goods are at the bottom, it's served on a shallow plate with the star ingredients lined up next to each other. It makes a fancy presentation. Sometimes, you will be greeted by the owner who hangs out for a while. That's always nice!

Great Pho soup with free range chicken, that's a new thing or I didn't know about it. They have some of the best Pho soup around, go there for lunch mainly and I don't mind the extra drive from work. I also like the Thai Ice Tea with Boba better here.

For years, I'd still say this place is great for pho. However, during visits I tried other cuisines in this place, I would not recommend. e.g. Their Pad Thai sauce is too sour. Hot coffee is heated and served from the same pre-made coffee mix of ice coffee, which they stored in the fridge, while iced coffee is just taken out from fridge and added ice cubes in. Other cuisines and dishes are just so so too. So, stick on pho here and your ice tea is still good on its way ...

I really wanted to like this restaurant. I went here roughly a year ago and got something that was very mediocre and forgettable. The other day I was craving some pho and did not want to drive far. So I decided to give this place a second chance. I was excited on 2 accounts; they re-decorated and they have organic/vegan options. I ordered the free-range chicken pho and crab and shrimp fresh spring rolls. Verdict: The spring rolls were put together well but the crab/shrimp didn't taste fresh at all, plus the mango aioli sauce it came with ( I know...why are we fixing something that ain't broke....it goes best with peanut sauce or fish sauce+sugar+vinegar) was gross and did not compliment the spring roll. Next, the pho; the broth was greasy and felt like it came out from a box of Swanson's. It had none of that subtle anise and garlic that lends the umami. My only compliment; good job on getting my order in a neat to-go bag.

This is our favorite Pho in town. I love the beefy and rich favors of the Kobe Oxtail soup. I recommend the Lemongrass Potstickers to start. My partner starts with the crispy egg rolls and then dives into a bowl of beef Pho. On occasion the owner will serve samples of his new creations, which have a fusion twist and are always tasty.

I just fell in love with the service at this restaurant, so I had to write a great review. We chatted with one of the women who worked there who had just got back from Vietnam. Super friendly in a genuine way. My husband had the fixed menu for $10 which was 3 courses along with a mango ice tea and I had the chicken and shrimp noodle salad. The salad was absolutely perfect for a summer evening in that it was fresh, chilled, and full of complimentary flavors (basil, sweet chilli sauce, rice noodles, julienne cucumbers, charbroiled chicken and shrimp). My husband's 3 courses were all excellent and the pineapple sorbet served in the hollowed out pineapple was a refreshing ending to our meal. I also learned that if you stare at the flan in the fridge like a hungry orphan while your husband is paying the bill, the sweetest server ever will give it to you as a gift to take home. Cheers to free flan! I really recommend this place. There is a large variety of entrees on the menu besides pho, and the the staff is very sweet.

I know what you're thinking five stars...but I do have to say this place is really good. I think that on the food alone it deserves 4 stars. After talking to the lady who owns the place last night, it gets a five in my book. I am a Huntington Beach native who has eaten Vietnamese food all my life. I was really impressed with the food. The flavor and presentation was great! I did think it was a tad bit expensive; however, after speaking to the owner I realized why. The chicken and beef is antibiotic and hormone free, which anyone who shops at whole foods or trader's knows how expensive that can be. Also, the water is reverse osmosis or something like that, which sounds expensive. This also may have a lot to do with the quality of the pho. It is awesome, but don't take my word for it try it yourself. She recently changed the chef and I have noticed an improvement in the food. If you are in the area or have some time stop by and try it out, you won't be disappointed!
