THE WET BURRITO!!!! So delicious. so good. It's pretty big. I recommend to have a big appetite if your going to take on this burrito. It goes really good with the horchata they have. They also have a special on it everyday (burrito + drink ) so get that it's 50 cents difference anyway. There is only one little problem I have sometimes a certain cashier gives me $--t about charging me an EXTRA 25 cents to get horchata and other times I come it's not a problem. That's the only issue I have other than that this place is awesome!

I was extremely dissapointed on my visit here to Juan Great Fiesta. Usually they offer pretty good mexican dishes but this time around they did not meet my expectations. Aside from the fact that I found an eyelash in my salsa, I was not impressed with the quality of the food or the customer service. The only thing id say that they have pretty decent are the 99cent breakfast burritos.

Definitely one of the worst taco places I've ever been to. the service was not the most helpful, the food was so plain and looked like microwave meat on a stale tortilla. not much to say other than i wouldn't recommend this place for tacos...also fyi its CASH ONLY even though there isn't any signage warning u ahead...on a positive i will give them 2 stars because in their salsa bar there is free tortilla chips.....this was a honest review nothing personal against this place, but i have had better experiences at taco bell or taco trucks

juan great fiesta is an amazing local business! the staff is so nice and if you go often as I do (once a week), they remember your name and your usual order. sometimes you have to be specific with your order because they have different cooks. I totally recommend the monterey chicken quesadilla; it's my favorite! they have a different special every weekday, like taco tuesday where tacos are only $1. definitely going to keep coming back.

My first time in this place. I ordered the 2 soft tacos plate. For under $10.00 you get 2 tacos rice beans and a salad. The condiments are self serve the portion are a good size for your buck. The food was also tasty. I would would return. It also has a relaxing atmosphere

Been coming here since high school from time to time. Name changed twice but the taste is the same. I always get the crane asada burrito (no beans) & an horchata. No fifth star because they don't have that extra "it" for that fifth star. Definitely a place I would visit, every once I'm a while... Like. Mmmmm.... Twice a year?? Solid four star joint.

Carnitas burritos and tacos are to die for!

I am spoiled, I know. My grandmother made better. This place is heavy on salt, very heavy on the stomach, and overly spiced. Food has flavor, chips are the best thing, but they MICROWAVE the enchiladas. I had cheese enchiladas and they were microwaved. WTH? Oh, did I mention how slow this place is? Cook is slow, he now has the cashier helping him cook, and she is less than friendly. A 2 star is generous compared to where I went back to before.

Love, love, love our quick fix place for Mexican food. Where else can you get $2 beers and $1 tacos?! We know the daily specials by heart and stop by at least 1 or more times every 2 wks. I mean c'mon, where else can a party of 2 enjoy a delicious meal, cold beer and relaxing environment for under $20? That's a winner in my book. The staff has ALWAYS been courteous and the food has ALWAYS exceeded our expectations.

This place is actually pretty good and the prices are cheap!!! We bad the steak fries, a sope, and carne asada tacos. Pretty typical food items, but to be honest the carne put it over the top! It was so flavorful!!! And the salsas didnt stay behind either, Ive had better but the flavor was pretty good! I would definitely be back when Im looking for a relax atmosphere, tasty food for a cheap price! The only improvement that can be done right away was the beans on nachos could have been warmer and cheese could have been melted! But it didn't really bother much!!

Oh laws, the burritos here are fantastic! WAY BETTER THAN SERGIOS TACOS. All the food was fresh and delicious! I had the veggie burrito. and i haven't had any burrito this good that was big! the burritos aren't some flimsy thing. my friend got the traditional juans great burrito. he said it was great, but it had a little extra sauce so putting it in a styrofoam container would've been better. but hands down. this place is amazing.

I drove by this place a million times and always laughed cause of the name. Finally I was starving one day and my friend suggested it. Although she referred to it as Uncle Robbie's. I figured what the hell give it a try. It's pretty standard fast food kind of Mexican. I had a taco plate that was only so so. The food wasn't bad but it definitely wasn't great, it wouldn't be my first choice if we were driving around looking for somewhere to eat. Enjoy & Happy Eating

    (2)
  • Christine L.

I miss Uncle Robbie's. The several times I've visited was out of nostalgia because the food isn't really that good anymore. The name change doesn't help that. It's all context. I think this place would do better if it was on the west side of LA with no Mexicans in the neighborhood. Then everyone might say it's awesome and tastes authentic and it might get 4 stars. But come on, this is Montebello. So many other places here on the east side for good Mexican food. It's clean. They have a free chips and salsa station but really, so many other places with better food.

Food is okay. However, you can not go wrong with their breakfast burritos in the morning. I am pretty sure they are still 99 cents. Worth every penny.

This place was crap. My cheese enchilada's were cold and the cheese didn't melt. I was on my lunch break. SO I just woofed down my food and left and vowed never to come here again. :P LOL!

As a young lass, my best friend and I would walk down to Uncle Robby's, which is what JGF was formerly called, for Chili Cheese Fries and to see Rudy, her crush. Looking back I think, "Seriously, I went there for chili cheese fries when there's a huge menu full of other tasty treats?!" Uncle Robby's was known for it's caricatures along the walls of celebrities that were signed and for having those gawdy-ass fake parrots hanging on their perches around the place. This was back in the day when they were on the other side of the parking lot, and located under Nautilus gym, which is now Ross Dept. Store. Boy, I'm really showing my age here. Anyhow, as I got older and my palette did as well, I found myself trying many of their other items. Some of my favorites are their nachos with carne asada, chile verde burrito, chile relleno burrito, and their special quesadillas. Every day they have a different special so you can get a burrito and a drink for less than your average fast food combo meal. They also have 99¢ burritos ever morning. Whenever I have gone in there, they have been on point. They are quick and have rarely, if ever, made a mistake on my order. They have enough of a variety to accommodate everyone in the office too. Even the big appetite [read: the double wrap burrito]. So if you are looking for a quick bite that is decent and Mexican-inspired, cause this is NOT authentic, give it a try.

Love the salsa and chip bar Food is O K Last experience with service was horrible Tried to use a coupon here and they didn't seem too welcoming about it. Closest Mexican restaurant to my house - if I'm craving for Mexican food and don't want to drive far then I probably will come here - otherwise, I would probably go somewhere with more authentic tasting food and better service.

    (2)
  • Luis L.

Definitely a chill spot to have some good authentic Mexican food. Can never go wrong with some carne asada tacos or even the carne asada nachos, you wont be disappointed. The place is small but clean and workers are friendly.

  • Miranda G.

My boyfriend & I ate here and we both felt sick a couple hours later. He had a carnitas burrito. HORRIBLE!!!! I thought it was dripping juices from the meat. To my amazement my boyfriend said no it's pure oil. I got a wet carne asada burrito.....the middle was hot and the rest was cold. Oh yeah, did I mention it's because they microwaved it. The only reason we had stopped in was because my bf would go when it was Uncle Robbie's. Well it definitely gives you a fiesta in your stomach (not the good kind) And I was trying to give it 1/2 a star but I guess it's not an option.

I love this place. Staff is always friendly and greet you with a smile :) Food is out of this world and their salsa bar is BOMB! Best part is they just recently reduced their menu prices! That is UNHEARD OF in these times! If you're in the area, definitely stop by for a cheese enchilada plate. You won't be disappointed :)

  • Stephanie L.

I will always call this place Uncle Robbie's. I come here once in a while for the breakfast burritos which are pretty cheap. I believe the price went up from $0.99 to $1.49. They're kind of dinky but you get what you pay for (although I think they used to be bigger back in the day). I've had the carne asada burrito, bean and cheese burrito and enchiladas, all of which are good. I've also had the carne asada taco salad but that was just okay. There's a chips and salsa bar. I always come here in the morning but I assume it's the leftovers from the night before so the salsa isn't great. The best thing about Juan Great Fiesta is getting the Buy One, Get One Free coupons for their burritos in the mail.

  • Howard T.

Where can you get One Great Fiesta in your mouth? Why, here, at Juan Great Fiesta! Who hooks you up every morning with $0.99 breakfast burritos? Juan!! (Machaca Con Huevos, Chorizo con Huevos, Huevos a la Mexican) Who probably has the cheapest burritos in town? Juan!! (Starting at $4.69!? Are you out of your mind?!) Who provides you with excellent service? Juan!! I'm telling you folks. The grub Juan serves up is pretty good for Mexican fast food. You get big portions and more bang for your buck. Download a coupon off their website. You and a buddy can get a hefty sized burrito, drink, and all the chips'n salsa and pickled carrots you can eat for only $4.50/person!! Me like and me think you will like too.

I like this place because its local. Pretty much it. The food is alright, the service is fast but everyone in line frustrates the hell out of me when they want to talk to the cashier. She's a sweet lady, and then some people come in and swear they have to speak spanish for the lady to understand, she ain't dumb, you're holdin up the line!!!! Anyway...cool place to drop in for lunch and get on with your day. The tacos are fantastic, the sauce is good and the meet is in thick chunks. The taquitos are also good, fresh guac. But my fav thing about this place, I can have a beer with my taco. Mmm, cervesas y tacos!!!

  • Dan G.

Juan great ripoff. Food was decent but expensive. Burrito and drink for 9 bucks. Rice beans and carnitas in the burrito were good, but very little meat. The price isn't horrible, but for how little meat was in the burrito, it's a joke. Green sauce in the bar was decent, red sauce was nasty. Good fresh guacamole for an extra charge.

Everyone knows you go to Juan Great Fiesta for the 99 cent breakfast burritos! This is the best deal in ALL of Montebello! Served until 11:00 am. My favorite breakfast is chorizo, eggs and beans. I do not like potatoes because they seem bland. All in all, for the value alone, I give the breakfast burritos a 4.5. The best regular food items is their carne asada burritos and nachos. Some people do not like Juan Great Fiesta because the food is not "authentic." I personally do not know what people mean by this, because when I go to Mexico, their food tastes wayyyy different than any Mexican restaurant that I ate at in California, New Mexico or Texas. I still like it, however, because, their put a lot of different ingredients in their foods, as opposed to being an all meat burrito. I also miss the chili fries that I used to eat after school :( back in the 90's. Please put it back on the menu, and I am there 6 more times a year. I personally liked their chili fries more than The Original Tommy's or The Hat.

Juan's is a nice little spot in Montebello that serves up some good Mexican food. Some might not find the food authentic but its definitely a couple steps up from a taco bell. They offer enchiladas, tostadas, sopes, and other dishes along side burritos and tacos, so they have a good size menu. The price is good for the food you get and depending on what you get, the portions are not to bad. When I'm in the mood for a quick chicken mexicana burrito or some famous nachos, ill pop into Juan's, throw down a few bucks and be good for the evening. Its one of those quick easy spots that satisfies your hunger at ease. Plus free chips and salsa!! If you haven't been try it for juance in your life!

  • Sage A.

We all used to go to Juan Great Fiesta for the 99 cent breakfast burritos! They are now $1.49 each. They are served in an extra large tortilla skin, but all you get is 2 tablespoons of beans and some cheese. A long time ago you could fill it up with all the salsa and veges you wanted at the counter, but now they limit you to one small plastic finger cup for the salsa and another one for the sauteed carrots and onions. I guess you can call this an air burrito. This is Montebello. I am sure there are better breakfast burritos for the money.

I ate at this place when it was Uncle Robby's back in my teenage days and back then, big equaled good. Years later, we went for nostalgia's sake; both of us are more or less locals, but that experience was nearly unedible. Flash forward to more recent times and Uncle Robby's is gone. They still keep that moniker alive, but it's now a place with a borderline (no pun intended) clever name and food that isn't as bad as Uncle Robby's during his twilight years. I think people still come here, but why? There's WAYYYY better food at other places. Granted, when we first tried Juan's Fiesta, we were sort of surprised at how good it was, "good" being a relative term. I guess it's okay. It's not inedible, by any means, but... Okay, the nacho's, one of the things we've ordered, are gigantic. We get the half-order of em. Everything else is okay and if I remember, their gigantic burritos were alright, taste-wise, but I doubt I'd want to commit myself to something so uncertain taste-wise. We usually go there when our memory starts fading and we always leave saying that we'll never come back. So much for consistency, ha! The restaurant itself is clean and bright, but I've had better-tasting mexican food at lesser looking locations. Basically, it's nothing your abuelita would be proud of. Your uncle? Maybe...

I found this place by accident driving by. However, this place catered one of my meetings at the USC Alumni House. I was blown away to know it was from a place that caters. Anyhow, I was excited when I drove by this place with my co worker that I stopped off and made him get out to get us a menu. I've eaten here at least 3 times in the past 7 days LOL They serve mexican food in the take-out joint and I guess they cater also. I would also say, stick with the mexican food. They do a great job and the food is great. Good value too. If you eat in the take-out joint, they have plasma TVs and a great salsa bar. Everything would have been great except there was an annoying ass regular man that comes there every day to eat and asks me 1,.984,898 questions!!!!!! I think I will be eating in if he is not there, and taking out if he is there! FAST AND FRESH

Never have I tasted a worse carne asada burrito. I feel bad for giving this rating, especially because everyone else has such rave reviews. I've just eaten at so many other Mexican joints that have been better. Rice and beans with hard meat just don't cut it for a burrito. Even the super cheap meat Albertos serves is better than this. My family liked their carnitas burritos and tacos, so maybe I just got one of their not so good menu items. Either way, I probably will never make a special trip to Montebello to eat at this restaurant again.

BBQ Catering Service Review: The menu boasts...Juan Great Fiesta. Mexican * BBQ* Italian. Everybody wants Juan! I don't want Juan. I want to wish Juan to the cornfield. Maybe Juan should stick to Mexican food. I just had the misfortune of attending an event catered by this service. They picked the BBQ party package. The chicken was pretty generic. It was annoying that the servers couldn't even understand my request for dark meat. "Juan's Famous BBQ sauce" tasted like something cheap out of the jar. The mac and cheese tasted just like Stouffers frozen mac and cheese. And the baked beans tasted canned. What really is bringing down star points here is the gawd awful rolls they used. I am sure I have never had anything more cheap and low quality. They were so flimsy they just crumbled in your hand when you try to use them to scoop food onto your fork. I couldn't even spread butter on them. They crumbled apart. And the butter was soft and melted. WHO would EVER think these buns are worthy of serving to human beings???? Negative stars just for the rolls. They also served Lay's style potato chips. Lovely. Thank gawd they cater potato chips. That's not something we can all go buy on our own and throw in a bowl. No way. uh uh. A flimsy potato chip to go with flimsy bread. My grandma is the queen of low quality cheap food. She would have loved this. So Grandma, I recommend this place to you. Serve some bologna rolled up in a tortilla with this and you will be in heaven. Everyone else, don't do it. Don't have BBQ from this place catered at your event. Don't embarrass yourselves. Don't embarrass your friends who will look away uncomfortably, unable to meet your eye while they choke down the food. I would probably stay away from their Italian party packages also. I'm afraid to even try the Mexican food now even though the other reviewers seem to think it's okay. And now I need some true authentic BBQ or some gourmet cheese to erase this emotionally scarring experience from my tastebuds.

We recently moved to Montebello so we decided to give this place a try. Dissapointed!! After ordering my food and drinks ($25+ total) I asked the Cashier for a cup of water for my 4yr old daughter (she didn't want soda). The Cashier looked around and said they didn't have cups. There were styrofoam cups right behind her, I was seeing them right in front of me! I told her there are some in back of you, she opened a drawer and got a plastic up out and gave it to me but she said "we are really not supposed to do this." I said, thank you. Really?!!! Can't give a cup for water??!!! What the heck? Even McDonald's gives you a cup for water. I couldn't believe it! Despite that, we ate in and there were several mosquitos flying around. We kept scaring them off and it was annoying. Couldn't really enjoy the food with the mosquitos company. I ordered the grilled shrimp burrito and it was just OK, nothing special at all. I had to take about 10 bites before I was able to bite a shrimp. Will not be going there again....

This is my 2nd home, I was just here on Friday. Seriously, they have the best Mex food ever and thanks to the other reviews, I will only stick to my usuals and not venture out to try their BBQ. The portions are generous, the service is fast, food is never nervy and prices are low. The wet burrito is one of the best burritos and the nacos are super huge with tons of fixings. I usually get the soft carne asada tacos which have never let me down. I'm not a big fan of rice but it's good here and they serve a small salad with good dressing and beans are great also (I always ask for extra cheese). We always order a side of guacamole... good!!! There is a self service counter that supplies utensils, condiments and is always clean. They also have chips and salsas (green chili is my fave) out and you can help yourself to more of all these without always asking. They are not stingy with their food, a meal and drink will cost below $10. You serve your own drinks and can get free refills too. They even sell beer!!! You have to try this place, believe me you will be satisfied. There is plenty of parking available and A/C is always on!! :)

there is a reason that this place needs a buy one get one free burrito coupon. however even with the coupon after you have your burrito you wish you paid a little more and got a better burrito at another place.

I went here the other day and ordered the nachos. I got the half order, which is HUGE. The only thing I didn't like was that the cheese wasn't melted on the nachos. So, I went back about a week later and got the monterey chicken quesadilla, which was really good. The chicken was tasty and they put big slices of avocado in the quesadilla. I told the cashier about how I didn't like the fact that the last time I got the nachos the cheese wasn't melted, he said next time just tell us how you want and we will do it for you.

Formerly known as Uncle Robby's. Their nachos are still humungo and food is overall pretty good. I especially like their tostados de camaron. They give you two styrofoam cups which are filled with cut up shrimp, pico de gallo and avocado. 1 cup is enough to cover two tostadas so I'm always full and have leftovers. Fresh salsa bar, friendly staff and a good place to eat in or take-out. I also really like their Monterey Chicken Burrito. Tasty!

Great food and great prices! It's good when you can find a place that will make GOOD Mexican food at a fraction of the cost you would pay if making it yourself! Now this place is definitely a keeper!

  • Regina L.

Uncle Robby's is a naughty, naughty man. Whenever I'm 1 mile away from this place, I hear his voice whisper, " Oh, you come to me and get some tacos or something" and 75% of the time, I listen! (I still have some power to resist!) I really like their tacos here because two of these can fill my petite sized stomach. I also load up on the chips, salsa, and lime at the salsa bar while I wait for my order. I prefer this the same amount as I do King Taco and maybe to some people, that means a lot to them. But, for me, getting to a King Taco isn't really that convenient when I have the pangs of hunger. This stuff is good enough to make me happy. BTW, Juan Great Fiesta is their catering name...just in case, you're wondering

This place is very clean. They do have a salsa and chips bar where you can get different salsas and chips. They have a 99 cents breakfast burrito which is actually pretty good. The nachos with carne asada are great. You can feed 2 people with just one full order of nachos!

    (4)
  • Jennifer L.

This place has really horrible customer service! To top it off all the workers are in the back talking and there's only one girl in the front and she has a line and no one comes out to help her. You would think the cook would come out and start making the orders but no he's still in the back chit chatting and once the cashier cleared the line she started making the orders because all her lazy coworkers are just in the back talking. I gave it two stars because the nachos were pretty good

My wife and I like explore and check out restaurant that's is new to us. I discover this restaurant while eating at Jersey Mike's Subs just next door. I notice each day they have a deal of the day and the price is really reasonable on a budget. Today we came to carne asada nachos Thursday at Juan great Fiesta it's only $5 that a surprisingly good deal. My wife and I both order the $5 carne asada nachos. It's a very nice restaurant but people come in for deal. They call our number and then I pick up our carne asada nachos. I notice the nachos are big portions, the nachos look very delicious. I took a bite but I felt the carne asada nachos were disappointed it didn't have any flavors especially the carne asada it was bland and the meat have been chopped up to finely but little bit greasy. The one item have a very good flavor was the guamole it was good. My wife agree with me the carne asada nachos need more flavors and good pieces of carne asada that will make a more better carne asada nachos. We will go back again to try the other items on the day they have their special.

Had a a carnitas burrito and my boy friend had al Pastor wet burrito. Food was very good. Good portions for your buck. The green sauce for the wet burrito was really good. I kept taking bites of his plate lol just wished it had more meat in it.

Came here for my lunch break, had to wait 3 minutes just for someone to come to the front & take my order & the girl only came because I said can somebody take my order. The ladies in the front were just chit chatting. Management needs to focus on the customer service portion of the business. Aside of that, the food wasn't good either, I ordered a sope de al pastor & the al pastor tasted horrible & had a funky taste, I was better off getting carne asada. Won't be returning to this place. The service & food didn't suit me well.

This place is just alright. It has some good daily specials. Taquitos Mondays are probably your best bet. I didn't really like their breakfast burritos. They give free chips and salsa. Rare for a fast food place but thats good. Their Nachos daily special was not that great because they didn't put much meat on it. Get it during the regular price. Their burritos are decent but nothing to write home about.

Hit and miss ... Was in the area so stopped here to eat. Ordered a Carne Asada Wet Burrito, Chile Verde Wet Burrito, and Carne Asada Nachos because it was $5 on Thursdays and why not give them a try. The lady who took our order was very nice, and suggested that I get the Chile Verde over the Carne Asada; so I did and informed her it was "for here". Grabbed a ticket, filled our drink, and sat for a bit. The decorations kind of threw me off in here, as it was a bit colorful and much, but that would'nt stop me from dropping their rating. Although, when our number was called, our nachos were served on a hot plate and both of our burritos were served in "to-go" containers. Which I thought was very strange. The food was piping hot, as she threw the burritos in the microwave to melt the cheese, so needed some time to cool down. Still frustarated over our burritos served in "to-go" containers when we asked for our food to be "for-here" and not wanting our burritos just sitting in a bowl of sauce/grease. The chile verde burrito was not bad, as the flavor the of chile verde was pretty good. Although, there was not many chunks of pork/meat at all and more just the sauce. I did like that they included a side of sour cream and a side of guacamole for my burrito though, not the carne asada. The carne asada burrito was a pass for me - as I did not care for their red sauce very much. The nachos were great for $5, though, probably would'nt get them again if I had to pay more for them. I would stop by again if I was in the area, but definitely not a place I will crave or go out of my way for.

Went on a Friday for the 3 burritos for 10 dollars special. I got a 3 carne asada burrito. They used to have more meat, not anymore. Is a good deal but they don't taste good because they almost have no meat.

****** Found a hair in my food! ****** I bought a burrito from here and once I got to the end if it I found a black hair in it. That is so nasty I got grossed out and threw up the food. I won't eat here no more that is disgusting! Please check your good before eating it. There good may be good but you don't know what is happening In the back. How clean are they? Also their fountain drinks all taste like toilet water. Have you ever had their fountain drinks? I have ordered one several times thinking it was just a bad day but nope it tastes the same each time it's GROSS! Never again!

I've been coming here on and off for a few years now. It's a pretty good Mexican spot with good food. I love that they have a salsa bar!! The salsa bar includes hot sauce (red and green), salsa, chips, carrots and varies other things. They have great deals throughout the week like Taco Tuesday (1 dollar tacos and 2 dollar coronas) and 1 dollar breakfast burritos!! I'll usually get the carnitas plate or the 4 taco special. If I swing by during breakfast hours, I like getting a breakfast burrito (machaca with eggs and beans). I can't recall having any issue at this place.

For Montebello natives, Juan Great Fiesta sits in the spot that once was the Burrito Brothers, and before that, the great Uncle Robby's Mexican Food. Either way, Let's briefly talk about what you can expect at this fiesta. I've been here a handful of times, and I honestly can't complain about anything much here. The food is decent if you aren't really expecting too much. It's your typical quick-stop Mexican food joint. Burritos, various dinner plates with rice and beans, and they've even jumped on the "nacho fries" bandwagon. They even have a few breakfast items for those who are there early enough in the day to partake. Their $1 breakfast burritos aren't bad at all. They're simple, but what do you expect for a buck? One nice little touch that's found at all the locations is the self serve chip and salsa bar. Typically, you'd have to pay for a side of chips and salsa, but here, you can load up on as much or as little as you want! I always find this a nice touch, and can be particularly dangerous if you're dining in... Overall, Juan Great Fiesta isn't the best Mexican joint in town, but it holds its own for being a small chain and won't disappoint if you need a quick fix.

He came to the door and ask me to go in with my id since they automatically charge credit card and as I was walking the cashier had major attitude ! And as I was walking in she rolled her eyes at me LOL.. I get working in the food industry sucks but She needs to learn customer service ..

They need better staff. Very unfriendly even to a loyal customer. If it were not for the $1 burritos I would not come by. And I've referred a bunch of people.

I'm just really upset about the rude service they gave my mom today. We always come here and we've never had a problem. I understand people have bad days but I don't consider it an exception. So she came in today around 5pm. She ordered 2 burritos and 2 nachos. Everytime we order the nachos, we order the sour cream and guac on the side so it won't get cold and the cheese on the nachos is always melted. The lady did not do that. The nachos got cold and the cheese was cold, not melted whatsoever. when my mom told her, she was rude about it and said "well we don't melt the cheese unless you tell us to." ok that's fine but when she asked to get melted cheese, seemed like she didn't want to do it. I mean is it that much to ask for? Is it so hard to melt cheese?! and when she asked for the side of sour cream and guac, she just tossed them to her rudely. When we got home, my mom was just so irritated about how rude she was. customer service is everything. I won't go back to a place that has rude service no matter how much I like the food. It's unacceptable. As we started to eat, the guacamole had chunks of avocado, like if it wasn't mixed properly. Not a big issue so I'm okay. but the burritos were labeled incorrectly. I had ordered carne asada burrito and my brother ordered al pastor. the carne asada burrito was labeled "al pastor" and the al pastor burrito was labeled "carne asada" so we realized it after we bit in our wrong food. Honestly not a big deal to me, but just the fact that we had rude service it just made me irritated. Ugh. So to the lady who was preparing our food today Sunday 9/14/14 around 5pm.... I don't know if you were just having a bad day or you're really just a rude person... you need to learn a thing or two about customer service. just saying.

"""""THE CASHIER MELODIE IS RUDE!"""""The food is pretty good, but as a whole experience it can be much much better. And by that I mean the cashier MELODIE. She is the first person you see here and prob the last person you would ever want to see, sorry. She is extremely rude and gives all attitude. Hire someone else or train her well.

This place isn't bad, and it's not amazing. I remember when it used to be Uncle Robby's. I think food was better way back then but they make some solid food if you know what to order. I've had their cheese enchiladas and potato tacos. Those are good. Not a fan of their tamales. Super dried out from being in a steamer all day no less. But luckily there's a salsa bar where I can get all the salsa I want to coat my dried out tamale in. Sometimes the pico de gallo has a frozen mass in it. :/ But it's still tasty. They cook up fresh tortilla chips too. The guacamole is good, but a large order apparently is two salsa cups full. Literally, they gave me two little salsa cups. What a rip off. Otherwise, nice ambiance and they have some good specials. They serve cerveza too.

Whenever I'm in Montebello, I have to make a stop at Uncle Robby's - er, I mean - Juan Great Fiesta. Truth is, I liked the decor (and name!) better when it was Uncle Robby's. The new name is a little punny. And when it was Robby's, there were cool Diego Rivera prints on the walls. But the new look is more festive (it's a fiesta, I suppose!) and it's basically the same food, so... My go-to dish is the Monterey Chicken Quesadilla. The seasoning of the chicken combined with the fresh avocado come together in a match-up that's better than World Peace. Be warned - it's HUUUUGE. Share with a friend. Or prepare to get sleepy if you eat the whole thing. The Chorizo con Huevos is just the thing if you're there first thing in the morning - hits you with just the right kick and flavor. The bowls are pretty amazing, too, but I feel awful eating bowl food thanks to Patton Oswald, so... forget I said anything about that. Wash it down with some Horchata and you're set. This place right here? It's for keeps.

My parents and I used to always pass by this place after attending church in Montebello. And finally I get to write a review. Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen in Southern California. Some of them we frequent because of location convenience, some because they've been a landmark (Tito's Tacos, Taco Sinaloa, King Taco etc), and some because of innovation. This place doesn't really below in any category above, but would probably be more on the convenience side, being on the corner of 2 busy streets. What I like about this place: CLEAN, FRIENDLY STAFF, ALL YOU CAN EAT CHIPS AND SALSA, TV and MUSIC (combination of Spanish and English songs, semi-old, makes the environment a little fun), and they're OPEN PRETTY LATE for the type of establishment this is. (Sort of like an El Pollo Loco - decent size restaurant, not a hole in a wall type of deal that's usually open past midnight) What I don't like - nothing really. But the food is just average, it's consistent, it's predictable, not innovative. So it's a safe place. We go here mostly because it's the one that's open pretty late where my wife can get a carne asada plate, with unlimited servings of chips and salsa.

I've been coming to this place since it was Uncle Robbie's. Luckily the food still tastes good and they've added more items to their menu and now they cater. I feel that whenever I'm in the Montebello area I need to stop in. Even if I'm not craving Mexican food. You can help yourself to chips and salsa and the food tastes fresh and authentic, a bit pricey but it's worth it.

Came here with my family the other day and I thought it was pretty good. The decor is very cute. Its colorful and very welcoming. They have tv's in there which was perfect because the World Cup was on! Also, they had a salsa bar which is standard but what I really appreciated is that they include chips in their salsa bar! So you can keep refilling your chips whenever you want. The salsa was pretty good too. I ordered a plate with a chili relleno & an enchilada. I asked if she could make it a green enchilada instead of red but she said they only do red and I was bummed about that but I just accepted it. But then later she called my number so I went up and she asked if I wanted the chile verde sauce on the enchilada instead. I thought it was really nice she did that. & it ended up tasting really good!! Overall, it was a cute little Mexican restaurant with pretty good food and a lot of choices!

So we stopped into this place after a funeral service on 8/4/14. No reason, just felt like Mexican food & happened to see it. Never been here before. As we were walking in, we decided to "check-in," because sometimes you get a deal or discount. To our surprise, a 20% coupon popped up. Placed our order & then showed the coupon to the girl. She said she had to call her corporate office to verify. No big deal. Until we were told it wasn't valid & that they had no relationship with Yelp. However, they did have Facebook and Twitter placards on the front window. So this left a bad taste in our mouths, which was not helped by their average food. The Yelp discount wasn't why we chose to eat here, but their response to it will be the reason we never go back.

Breakfast burritos for 99 cents! You can add beans, rice, cheese, and potatoes for 50 cents each additional item. I got time for dat! The question Is... Do you have time for dat? Well, you might be thinking..."Ain't nobody got time for dat" but the truth is...We all have time for some good authentic mexican food. Formerly known as Uncle Robby's, this place has been around for a long time. It used to be located on the other end of the shopping center. Back in the day, they use to have cartoon type drawings on the wall. They use to have the 4lb. burrito challenge. If you finish the whole 4lb. burrito they would draw a cartoon type drawing of you and put it on the wall for everyone to see. That's how long I've been coming here. The food is great! Hence the new name "Juan Great Fiesta." It really is like one great fiesta when you come here. The music is jamming, the tv's are showing, and the food is cooking, and readily prepared for you to dine in or take out. Have a beer to compliment your meal, or come in on the weekend for some delicious menudo to help you recover from your long night and get you ready to take on the day. Try the burrito's, tacos, nacho's, or the quesadilla's. They're great!

When I went the customer service was horrible, the young man was rude, inattentive and was using profanity behind the register. Having my two year old with me hearing this language made it so much more inexcusable!!! I had some restraunt.com coupons and I told them I was going to use two they didn't tell me until they already took one I could only use one at a time and could not give it back when I said I would just leave. The manager came and was just as rude as the guy behind the register. NEVER OMING HERE AGAIN!!!!!!!!

I like this place the food is good. However, when you order a burrito any type BEWARE it's usually mostly filled with BEANS and very little meat. I have also tried the other location on Norwalk and Washington bl and it was the same thing. On the plus side they do have a good salsa bar with free chips and they also have free refills on drinks. I guess they're trying to recover the cost of the free chips and drinks by limiting the meats. I would frequent this restaurant if they weren't so stingy with their meat portions. Over all it's just ok for that reason. JUAN WE WANT MORE PROTEIN!

This use to be one of my favorite restaurants but that has changed because with more of my visits the male cashiers have started making me feel uncomfortable. I've been here so many times and I'd say that 1 out 10 visits the cook has made my order wrong and those 3 times the cook got upset because he felt I was the one that made the mistake when ordering. All that was wrong those three times was that I received my wet burrito with green suave instead of red sauce but it's a mistake that unfortunately ruins the whole burrito. The most recent two times the tall male cashier told me very slowly all the ingredients that the wet burrito has inside as if I'm stupid and it pissed me off because I've ate so many times there that you would think he would recognize me and treat me as a valued regular but instead I felt unwanted. The last two wet burritos I ordered didn't taste the same as all the other wet burritos I've ate in the past probably Cus I used two 20% coupons from Yelp. Two stars because there was a time that I was treated nicely and served fresh delicious wet burritos. I won't be going back.

I specifically asked the cook not to put any cheese because I am allergic, and he still did. Afterward he showed me and said just a little bit won't hurt right? I am allergic to dairy, so yes, it will hurt. Needless to say, I won't ever come here again.

The bean and cheese burrito had a good taste the only problem is that I ordered a freaking CARNE ASADA BURRITO!!!. Where is the meat!!..smh. not exaggerating either -_- don't order burritos unless of course you want a bean and cheese cuz they could definitely put that in the burrito. I feel like I said burritos too many times. Oh yeah and for $7.36 ?! Psssshh.....I don't think so.

I went here on 10/03/2014 around 12 noon and ordered 3 buritto for 10 dollars good price and fries nachos so were sitting down waiting for our order and some food was sitting on the counter for 10 min so my daughter said I think its our order and ask the lady cook if it was my order she said I need the receipt and my daughter showed it to her and the cook thew it on the nachos and said nothing I went up and said is this our order and said yes very rude and I said the nachos are cold and the cheese is not melted I ordered melted cheese on the nachos so the cook put the whole plate with the guac and sower cream in the microwave now it was a mess.but made a fresh nachos for us but we have to deal with the attitude she gave me after making my nachos .its like a lunch truck indoors.but good Monday thru fridays deals but the lady making it serves it with a bad attitude.

What a terrible experience. The sopes I ordered were soggy and had only a trace amount of meat. The beans tasted a little funny, hope I don't wind up getting sick. This used to be a great little place, what happened? Needless to say, I will not be returning here

We called in a simple order. When we get there the order is not ready, they didnt even start on it. The guy had the order written down, then punches it in the cash register while asking us item by item. Dang, what was the purpose of calling first. So I ask the guy if it is ready, maybe they had the orders put aside, and he says "yes it's ready they only have to put it in a bag' Well that was a straight out lie. We stand there and watch the girls making it right in from of us, and asking how we want it made. Why you take phone orders if you dont take phone orders ?????????? Now the food.... my burrito was too salty. My friend said his taco was very salty. I guess with this service and food it's no wonder Alberto's, Don Chente's and Ordonez is busy.

When I come back to Montebello, I like to stop by Uncle Robbie's / Juan's Great Fiesta. The 4 taquito plate with choice of chicken or beef, rice, beans and a side salad with two giant gobs of fresh guacamole is only $6.95. Plus, of course there is the salsa bar with warm tortilla chips and pickled carrots. Love the al pastor too. The restaurant t- shirts that they sell are funny: for women, they have " I want Juan" on the front; the men say" I Juan to party ." I almost bought one for my friend at work whose husband is named Juan.

I work at Montebello Mall, so I decided to make a quick stop at this place after reading the reviews and because I was starving. I walked in and was surprised at how big it is. It's well-maintained and colorful, and doesn't feel like you're at a Mexican restaurant. They have chips for you to get on your own for free :-) I ordered the $5.50 carne asada tacos w/ 16 oz drink and the carne was great quality. I will be returning! Think this might be my quick taco fix spot ;)

I love this place. I have been a patron here since the Uncle Robby days, and it's pretty much the same menu. The staff is really friendly and the free salsa bar is top notch. They no longer put limes out but if you ask for some they are happy to give them to you. Also if you are there with friends ask for a basket for the chips. We usually go as a group for Taco Tuesday, $1 tacos and $2 beers (includes beer-a-ritas). Let's face it, it's 'fast' food so don't expect restaurant quality, but also don't expect restaurant prices either. :)

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
