Healthy Meal suggestions for International Buffet

Great food and even better prices. My brother and I were craving Asian buffet style food, and found this place close to the hotel he was staying at. This was a Thursday night. At first sight it looked a bit quiet inside, but then i noticed other cars parked on the other side and in numerous other areas. Upon walking in we were seated right away. The waiter asked for our drink order. Drinks are an additional charge, not part of the buffet price. My brother had the Horchata, while I had a water. There are definitely a lot of options to choose from here. I tried the potstickers, chicken wings, orange chicken, fish patties, muscles, chow mien, seaweed salad, and crab meet salad. I had way more that what's listed, but I completely forgot to take pic of my plates as a reminder. Everything was fresh and tasty as it should have been. I think this is also due to the high foot traffic in the buffet, therefore forcing them to continuously refill the different items. The sushi section is almost non existent. If you're going here for the sushi, please reconsider and go elsewhere. There were probably 5 different rolls, and just the generic types. You won't be impressed. You've been warned. The same goes for dessert items. If you want more than some cookies, go somewhere else too. The service was similar to other buffets. Our drinks were refilled as needed and plates cleared off the table as we went for another round. I'd go back again.

We were starving and not familiar with the area - of course I go to Yelp for suggestions. This place received some mixed reviews so we took a gamble and ventured over there - what's the worst that could happen - we would go find another place. This place was PACKED which was a surprise given that it was 230 on a Sunday afternoon. This is NOT a pretty place - it's a little divey, so our expectations were pretty low. Surprisingly - their seafood was fresher than expected. They have these delish little stuffed crab shell things that I was obsessed with. They have a lot of options - it's more asian buffet than american - like i was expecting spaghetti and meatballs but it was more lo-mein, and some Louisiana flavored clams/mussels (which BTW was very tasty and super spicy). I would actually recommend going here for lunch for sure again. The price point was perfect and it's super fair.

Came here on June 04, 2015 was lured back with a $2.00 off coupon. The food has gotten better. Service is pretty good in refilling drinks and clearing off plates. The roast beef at the craving station was very tender had 2 slices, wish they had some horseradish sauce, not a problem I mixed a little soy sauce and wasabi together for the dip. But still the Asian Tour Buses still come here, a flood of tourist just rush in and sit themselves at any open table, while the tour guide tries to coordinate them to sit at assigned tables, what a mess. My wife loves to eat seafood said the quality and taste is pretty good, since our last visit nearly 2 years ago. Price for dinner was $ 9.39 with the $2.00 coupon.

The food has always been good here and the service fine they don't rush you like at other asian buffet places everything's good except for today while I was eating I felt something on my leg and it was a cockroach crawling up my pants i killed it but I was so grossed out and immediately traumatized for life. It was disgusting it was crawling under our feet in plain light of day that is beyond gross.

  • Mayra N.

It was ok. However, not that many selections to choose from, no kun pao chicken no wonton soup either....fail...deserts were delicious that's all I ate

  • Jennifer T.

1 of the worst buffets I been too ... Food is just bland .. Not 1 thing did I say wow . If your going to serve Pizza , at least make it decent . Chicken wings looked raw .The fruit was warm . also has that sticky carpet feeling

  • Grace Z.

Diasappointed every time. Food is bland and greasy. Salad even disappointed as the greens were not fresh. I can't understand how this place is always packed. Gross.

  • Floyd C.

Even with the low stars on yelp this place is packed....almost every table is taken. This is my local go to place for some breakfast. Fast for the most part, even when busy and you can have breakfast 24/7. When I need some eggs and bacon this is my place. Did I mention 24/7? Yes breakfast at midnight, yum.

Horrible experience. We payed with cash and a debit card and the cashier had the nerve to steal $20 and overcharge the debit card to make up for it. Of course once the receipts were made there was no way in proving what had happened. Never eating here again. Food is below average. And if you get seated near the entrance then you are most likely to encounter flies flying near your area of dining. Prices are raised during holiday times so beware. This place is not worth your time nor your money.

What can you expect for a buffet? Its sub par food, with a sub par ambiance. I like the green beans, orange chicken and fried rice. Love the chocolate fountain, pairs greatly with ice cream and marshmallows. Deserts are alright, strawberry mousse isn't that good, creme puff things are Good, and the chocolate cakes are disappointing. Great place to take the family if you want AYCE food.

  • Isamar C.

This place was terrible! I wasn't expecting much since it's a buffet but this place was way below even buffet quality. A lot of the dishes tasted old, will not be coming back.

  • Tiffany C.

This place is pretty good considering the price of $11 per person (dinner) I come here often with my parents and grandmother since she loves their BBQ ribs and dumplings, their "ice cream" isn't very good, its not smooth and milky..its just frozen milk flavoring. And they have a fridge with sliding doors for their desserts now, it may look good but it's really not, its...mmm...from a 1-10 scale (10 being best) it's a 3. Although the dessert isn't good (they have fruits, that's good) their savory selections is reasonably good. But if you want good desserts, don't come you'll cry of disappointment. Usually, there would be tourist from tour buses here (Asian people) so you know its going to get loud

This is the worst place that you can go I left my car for an hour or less and they broke in my car and they stole some shopping, I went to Los Angeles we wanted to try this restaurant but that was the wrong mistake when I finish eating my gps s_and some stuff that I bought were gone I went back to the restaurant and talk to the manager and ask them if they saw something and they say if I left my door open I told them no but they didn't care I was parked in front of the main door next to the handicap section besides that the food is very greasy and don't taste that great the service was horrible and I would not recommend nobody to go there it is not what it looks like

  • Cecilia N.

I really didnt expect anything besides cheap food but this place was disgusting. Spinach was spoiled. Food is buffet generic. Nothing special. Very bland.

I honestly did not like this place the food was not good and overall the restaurant looks messy and cluttered . I wouldn't come eat here again.

The food here is pretty good. I am a fan of the dumplings and prawns. If you were looking for a good dessert I wouldn't come here. All the desserts were ugh...... If you like seafood I totally recommend this Buffet! They also sometimes have a chocolate fountain which is cool cause I like chocolate!

I'm an inbetween-er on this one (3-3.5 star-ish inbetweener). Bare in mind that I was living in OKC for the past 2 years and grew very accustomed to AYCE "Chinese Buffets" that were more like a culmination of ALL Asian cuisines.I think a lot of Okies think we all look alike and eat alike or something... So yeah. This joint gets CR-OW-DED. And to make matters worse, we went on a night when a bunch of hungry students came in after their basketball game/practice. They cleared out a lot TON of food so I got stuck waiting for the new hot stuff. Of course the crab legs are the first to get taken up, but patience is a virtue friends... I found myself going back for the green beans, edamame and chinese veggie cold salad and crab. The cooked salmon was overcooked for my taste. Sushi? Generic. Cali rolls in different variations. The french fries were similar to what you can get at Baccalis. Come to think of it, the fried section of the wasn't half bad-especially if you have picky people or kids in your party who will only eat that stuff. All in all? Not the worst buffet I've ever been to and it's a place that can please a variety of palates at a not so expensive price. BTW- they serve beer! Not sure about hard A though.

I am sorry but I just can't come here again. I don't like writing bad reviews but I just need to say it. I came here for lunch on a Sunday and people were packed inside like sardines. They walked us to our table when it was still being cleaned and I noted that they were sweeping under the table because the party before spilled a bunch of rice. When I sat down my hand touched something slimy on the seat and that killed my appetite a little. Also I noticed a lot of the serving spoons were being used for multiple dishes. There was so much cake residue on the dessert tongs.. I didn't even try the ice cream. Honestly, the service was good and I want to be nicer in my review, but my experience here was just bad food-wise. I guess cleanliness wasn't a major concern here either. Probably the only thing I enjoyed was the fruit I got. I tried bits and pieces of the fried stuff but can't say that I thought anything was decent in the least. And to top it off, my fortune cookie didn't even have a nice fortune. In the end, you get what you pay for I guess.

I really don't care for this place, but my bf loves it for all the seafood (that I don't eat) and Asian food. I only like the salad bar....I love salad, and extra star for the chocolate fountain and the fact that they have beer. Friendly staff, restaurant needs and update tho, chairs and tables need to be replaced.

  • Nick M.

We decided to do dinner at this place... the food is decent, it seems like it's been sitting out for awhile, the desserts are decent, I'll come again but I'm no rush to come back...

  • Adan I.

This buffet is so good. They have so many selections. A lot of salad toppings. They even have a chocolate fountain and a popcorn machine. My mom loves that they serve horchata. The only thing that's not so great is the size inside. Seems small. Tables are sometimes too close to each other. Since the place is a bit small many times you have to wait a while for a table. But it's so good that I can overlook that.

I've been to this establishment during lunch $7.99 (11-3:30pm) and dinner $10.99 (3:30-10pm) a few times and I've enjoyed it. Its a small Asian buffet with a variety of food. It has 8 small stations (soups, sushi, desserts, american, salads, etc). For an ayce buffet that serves BEER its good. I mean its an inexpensive restaurant people. You cant expect high quality food! You get what you paid for. The servers are a hit & miss but whether they smile at you or not they are attentive. They are always coming to the table to get our refills and take the empty plates. When it comes to parking there's sufficient space because the parking lot is in a shopping center. I will be coming back. . .

MEH... This place is so-so. I didn't choose to come ti this restaurant. I only came because a bunch of family was coming here for lunch. I didn't have high hopes so therefore I wasn't disappointed when I actually started to dig in. +1 Food is mediocre. Of course, since it's a buffet, a majority of the food is extremely oily and bland. I had a little bit of everything; the coconut shrimp (rubbery), chow mein (bland and greasy), a few of their sushis (tasted old), some macaroni pasta (meh, too much mayo), sweet and sour spicy soup (can't say, too spicy for me to continue eating), dumpings (very greasy), etc. -1 The atmosphere isn't the best either, again, since its a buffet. It's very loud. The people eating there are VERY rude. People run into and don't even care but when you get in THEIR way theu give you mad attitude without even trying to say excuse me. There are children screaming. I'm honestly surprised the workers there can stand working there. Shit job, but hey, money is money. 1/-1 Cleaniness. The restaurant itself is okay. The little fountain is pretty. The bathrooms are a mess. Everything is old and run down. A few items were broken and there was trash everywhere. Overall, I wouldn't come back. No matter how cheap it was... Food isn't worth it and people who eat here are unpleasant.

This food taste like cardboard. Place was filthy floors full of food. I got up and asked 3 times for my drinks. I could of walked out without paying. No one was around or didn't care to give me a slip to pay when I asked.

I gave this 2 stars bcuz of their ice cream machine and they were super nice! For some odd reason my bf loves this place however I did not like this place at all there wasn't anything good to eat I only ate pizza and ice cream the desert section was so small and disappointing. it was mostly weird sea food that I would not even look at let alone eat it idk I rather go someplace else I won't return here I think people either love it or hate it!

Worst place the staff take the plate out of the table when you still eating out of it the food is horrible and is GATTO

  • Richard H.

I LOVE CHEAP CHINESE BUFFETS, i normally dont give a lot of place 5, but i absolutely enjoyed my food, it is very cheap and i get a taste of sort off everything, if i wanted a gourmet meal then i for sure wouldnt go here, but i like chinese food and for the price, come on! coconut shrimp yummm, fried fish and shrimp yummm, bbq ribs i liked a bit chewy but i have teeth, philly sushi, loved how much cheese they put on it, the sweet and sour soup was good, surprisingly i liked the prime rib too service they were not the greatest, but again what do i expect but a place like this you get what you pay for, it is a buffet in the neighborhood, we are not in vegas!

I did not like the service I was bearly on my second plate and the waiter brought the check without me asking for it Also the food was not that great

  • Maryceleste H.

This place has good food for the price. I give it 3 stars because it is always EXTREMELY BUSY- which is obviously good for them. But bad for the customer because they are constantly running out of food. There's way too any people pushing eachother to serve themselves and it gets annoying. The sushi is possibly the worst I've ever tried, but the girls are always nice and get your drinks as you sit down. It convenient for the price but it's not the best of the best. They do have a lot of parking

    (3)
  • Fil Bryner C.

Good place to eat love the ice cream though .But it takes to long for you to get seated and its small not a good place for big families

  • Cintia M.

This place was horrible. Everything was stale. Poor quality. Their sushi is a joke. Dessert taste like they've been sitting there for weeks. Tables are old and dirty. Plus, they have horrible service. I will never come back here again!

This place is by my house and we go often in Sundays for the crab legs- delicious. We honestly to beat the crowds con muchos ninos- like at 10:30 am! Love the peanut chicken, green beans, and donuts with plantains. My favorite buffet for crab legs outside of Vegas!

  • Eva M.

My mother LOVES this place! why? good food and you can eat as much as you want...Ok, lets start at the beginning. Great location, right off the freeway and plenty of parking since its in a big shopping center. The service is not great but not awful I guess this would be a 3 star service. Now the food is another story...stop counting calories, it will ruin your experience. Delicious food covered in all different sauces and for the most part good quality but for your own health stay away from sushi, its dry which means its been seating there for a little too long. Of course if you are a risk taker cover it in soy sauce and take the challenge! As far as options, they have an array of items at the buffet, rest assure that you will find your FAV dish. I personally love their coconut shrimp and teriyaki chicken skewers and for dessert FRIED plantains ;) The location is very clean, no booths, just tables and chairs, fast service and you do not have to wait more than 15 minutes to be seated. You cannot beat the price, around $12 per person for lunch!!! Let the eating begin!

Why are all these people so mean? come on, you know the food are good if not great, and the price is very reasonable, I would not use the word "cheap". it s good. value. inspite of the low review, the place remain packed, what did that tells you? as a Chinese I would eat at this place everyday if only I live closer. They got salt and pepper shrimps that a Chinese would love, clam soup and stuffed crab shell that keep the Filipino wanting for more. this place make Home town Buffet and Golden Coral look like fast food. It is best for you all to come and try it for your self. Good money good food, what else do you want!!!

Home Town looks Gourmet compared to low quality, horrid food served here! This is the BUFFET dedicated to GHETTO people, and Chinese Tour Buses. Tables old, upholstery ripped, graffiti all about Cement coming into front door, filthy, gum stuck all over, a disgrace! Bad Attitude employees, then look at the indentured servitude under which they work! Think they all have green cards? Parking lot full/ park as far away as 99 cent store! Restroom stinks, filthy, mold & open trash can for TP- Sink filthy,--- Cooties galore- sit at your own risk! Food, poor quality, greasy is the deal, MSG, and lack of choices... Food temps off- violates Health Dept required 135 degrees. They fill trays with corn, fries, and low cost carb laden food- as greasy noodles! Pizza very bad. Sushi a Chinese knockoff joke- eat at own risk, horrid! Salads: Unique mixed summer green salad, with sprouts and chicken shredded white meat on top- GOOD Deserts pathetic BEWARE when Chinese tour buses arrive- this a act to behold! They want only CASH, unless above $10 / what a great skim they make! Same lousy owners who have Kami, Great Chinese, and this one! MAKE money, with low food costs, and Chinese Business Model~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • Lillian M.

This place is nice the times I've been here we always get greeted well and we get to choose our place to sit if we ask. We're asked for our drinks, we go serve our self's and when were back our drinks and utensils are already there ready to eat. Everything seems fine for me. The only thing they can work on is not giving the check towards the end when we're about to finish (what if we're going to get up for seconds). They should just wait til we ask for it. I will still go back here

    (4)
  • David V.

If I can give it half a star I would. Place isn't as great as people say. It does smell. Male and female staff are rude. They only have one fcking stall for the men's restroom!! For a place that seats almost 100 this is a major problem that should be brought up to the city!

It was a Saturday afternoon and I wanted to take my family for lunch in the most amazing buffet place in the world, but my wife decided to go across the street. I was like "woman is you crazy!" it seams that she wanted to try this international buffet place for a while now but she convince me to go because she said to me.. "Babe, it's international, theirs Mexican food there too" so I said okay. When I arrived to this destination, OMG it was so NOT amazing at all! Yes people, the wife lied to me.. The only Mexican food there was the coffee lol. There was nothing but Asian food there, now let me just say that I have nothing against Asians, hey I married a Asian myself but I'm not a fan of Asian food but after I've tasted the orange chicken from this place, ugh I hate Asian food now! It was a bad experience and I will never, ever, ever, ever come here again. Even my wife notice that we weren't happy because we didn't eat anything in a buffet place lol, ok ok we had something international, and that was french fries lol. I really don't recommend this place at all.. If you're next to this place, I recommend Home Town Buffet, which is located across the street from this place. Enjoy :)

  • Vicky L.

Though my grampa loves this place and I'm forced to take him here and eat at least once a month, I have only one word for you: yuck. The only thing I enjoy here is the fried banana and the orange chicken. Another thing, you'd think a buffet couldn't do a salad wrong, but even their veggie selection sucks. As for the sushi, you could probably go home and make the exact same thing, maybe even better (given that you have the ingredients). All the other foods may look good, but please don't be fooled! Being in there gives you that icky feeling and that's not a good thing especially at a restaurant. The restaurant just has a dirty vibe that I can't explain. It's not in the nicer area of Montebello (no offense to those who eat there regularly) and I'm not too fond of the atmosphere. If you ever drive on the 60 fwy heading west, you could probably catch a glimpse of it on the right as you pass by. And just keep driving, don't stop... The price to eat here is very affordable but probably not worth your money anyway. So, International Buffet gets a big no-no from me. Oh and BTW, the first time I ever tried this place I ended up with food poisoning later that night. Yuck, again.

Worst buffet ever. Why? How about they use tuna from a can for sushi rolls! Yup, chicken of the sea rolls my friend. Found a bug in the soy sauce bottle, found another one in the food. They don't seem to really care about being clean. Not ever going back.

    (1)
  • Ashley H.

experience was just that....meh. idk after finishing eating i just felt all icky about the place. maybe it was dirty idk, but surprisingy i didn't get sick. i mean i was surprised that they had alot of foods to choose from.....but only about a handful i somewat liked. the sushi was pretty ok, the hot & sour soup decent, mango pudding was good, chicken skewers okay......but the rest....meh. maybe wat kinda messed things up was the stinky somewat dirty bathroom, the old man sitting at the next table blowing his nose for like an hr, and the kids running around coughing & touching all the food. ugh. overall the food wasn't that good.....some had a taste to it that just threw me off and i just couldn't eat it. if you're just down for mediocre food at somewat reasonable price you can come here......for me i'll pass.

  • Alexis M.

Gross. I wary of most buffets because the food is prepared in volume and usually doesn't get the attention from the cook like it deserves but this place takes the cake. It seems like they have no cooks and microwave the whole buffet line. Don't eat the crab! I don't know what they do to it but it is NOT crab. Stay clear of this place!

    (1)
  • Jason G.

Ya know. Not as bad as i thought it would be. Definatly not a fan of Hometown Buffet, and i only came because, well.... we were hunger. I expected this to be like all other shitty buffets, but for a 6.99 lunch special.... I got some of the rolls, they were okay, but i really liked the "dragon" roll. only had one do. As always a small portion of each thing they had there. asian noodles, crap, kung pao chicken (with jalepenos and onions) too salty and no9t spicy. Duck, really good. Fruit, mellon, not bad. dumplings, crapppy cheese and crab, but the egg rolls were good. Corn was over cooked, i dunno how they managed that but still good. Salad and some weird dressing were good. So all in all, for a place that isn't my first choice, really we just went there because we were hungry coming out of Best Buy, and the thai place i wanted to go to was too far away, it was nice.

  • Maribel L.

I dislike buffets in general. I see it as reheated food and not made to order and it just sits there till someone grabs it. Well i came here for my moms birthday because someone recommended it to her and i went along with the idea. The place is a little rundown and service is terrible. They serve you your drinks and they take forever to refill them. Sushi is disgusting seems like its was pre-made at a rundown factory. I've had pre-made sushi before and this has to be the worst. And having japanese, chinese, mexican, and frozen chicken nuggets doesnt make it international. everything seemed to be reheated food.

  • Jeanette G.

I came here the other day for lunch, first time and I gotta say I really liked it, reasonably priced the atmosphere was just fine. All the negative comments made by some people may have been in some F'd up mood because we found nothing wrong at this place.

  • Mark C.

eek! This place caters to a majority Latinos. The food itself looks really badly presented but if you pick selectively it tastes better than it looks. Probably the second worse Chinese buffet I've ever had. The owners were really strange. They sat at a booth and just stated at customers with a stupid grin. The roasted beef was inedible. The fish tends to be good.

    (1)
  • Jeff R.

Awesome price, and plenty of variety. You can have fish, shrimp, sushi, chicken, and even healthy stuff. Much better than any hometown buffet for the same price.

    (5)
  • miguel g.

This is my first time here. I like the food because all the food are fresh. The price is fair. They have all different kind of food and salad. It is better eating here than cooking at home. The food is good.

I've eaten here 2x/month for the last 2 years because it's convenient and it's cheap for an all you can eat buffet. Despite the name, "International..." it's first and foremost Chinese, the language spoken by the front room staff. And the Chinese influenced dishes are the best. The jalepeno chicken, orange chicken and fried shrimp are my favorites. Ribs are brought out at 3pm. I ignore the breads, fries, roast beef, and terrible looking sushi. I swear I saw pizza a few times too. At least the boiled whole baby octopuses are gone. The steamed rice isn't the best quality but a Japanese rice cooker is used so it's always prepared correctly. I balance the proteins with the surprisingly well stocked salad bar. There are a very large number of toppings. After 2 platefuls of food I pull the levers on the frostie machine. It produces ice cream with real cream, perfect to eat with almond cookies. I've found Sundays at noon to be the most crowded. When it's hot outside and crowded inside, the air conditioner is overwhelmed and it gets humid and stuffy. And it's even worse when a tour bus arrives while you're eating. Yesterday I saw a sign that read, "take out plate $6.95." Maybe that's the way I'll go from now on.

Why is this categorized as American? Just because it has International in the name doesn't make it any less of a cheap Chinese buffet. Yes, this place is fairly cheap, but I've had better food for cheap, especially in the area where there is Chinese cafes with cheap food aplenty. I mean this is the city where you can get a decent 8 oz steak for under $10 with soup, rice, and steamed veggies, or you can get 3 8 inch bahn mi sandwiches for under $5. I came for lunch, and there were a few items which made it seem like a good value, initially. There was a sushi bar which actually had salmon sashimi sitting on small mounds of rice. I liked how they didn't overload the rice. Then I realized how paper thin the sashimi was. How do they get it so thin?? It was like deli meat, only deli meat is salty and more flavorful than raw fish. The cooks were making dumplings and taking the ends of the green beans out in the open, so I thought how could they go wrong? They are Chinese food staples, and they aren't expensive. Usually the tactic of these buffets is to make the cheap food tasty, and the expensive food mediocre tasting, so that you get full on the cheap stuff, right? The dumplings were worse than frozen market dumplings. The skin was thick and flavorless. The dough was tough. The stuffing didn't taste good, either. Although it looked like they put a lot of veggies when they were stuffing them, the veggies didn't compliment the meat or tenderize it at all. The green beans were okay-- typical and waxy. The white fish tasted okay, but it was submerged in yellow oil. I had to pick it up and pour the grease out before I put the fish onto my plate. The salmon was over cooked, and a bit on the bland side, even when it just came out. The shrimp was pretty good. You can't really go wrong with boiled shrimp. The clams were standard, as well, although half of mine were a bit sandy. The mussel with the mayo sauce was gross, because the mayo was packed on and didn't have anything like herbs to flavor it up. The mussel without mayo sauce was too salty. A lot of the bread goods were old and hard, and not very tasty. The soups were good. I liked how they had a fruit dessert bar. They had kiwi and pineapples and melons. They were good. They also have a frozen yogurt machine and Ghiradelli chocolate sauce. I wouldn't be surprised if the chocolate sauce was watered down and refilled with generic sauce, though. The vanilla fro yo was way too sweet. What really gives this place a 2 rather than a 3, though, is the fact they can't even get cheap Asian staples right. It doesn't cost much money or effort to make a decent mango pudding, or chicken skewers, or Chinese take out food, does it? Why does it taste so substandard?

Meh it's okay. I only come here cause it's cheap Their restrooms are cool I guess. Just cause they have those strips on the cracks of the stalls. So no one can look at your bare vajay while you're taking a piss

Omg, don't even ask me how we ended up here. A family friend took us out here after hearing from many Asian tour groups that it's a decent buffet. Upon driving here, we were all very skeptical since it's in a pretty weird location. The restaurant had a decent amount of people when we arrived but seeing the price of dinner, I was not expecting much. They had a variety of foods consisting of a salad bar, sushi (cut rolls and nigiri), soup (clam chowder, egg drop soup), fried foods (think chicken, shrimp, fish, etc.), popular Chinese dishes (mayonnaise shrimp, chicken and broccoli, etc.), meats (roast beef, ribs, chicken wings), fruit, and dessert. I didn't eat much, just because nothing was that appealing to me. I stuck with the safe choices and just nibbled on that for the night. The one thing I will say is stay away from the ribs! I don't know why they tasted so horribly, but they did. Yuck. Their fried bananas were pretty good as well as their mango pudding cups. They were very slow on taking our plates once we were done. But you can't expect the best service when their prices are so low. Towards the end of the night, a big Asian tour bus parked right outside and unloaded their passengers (maybe 40-50 people). I hope they don't believe that all restaurants in America are like this...

This place is nice, the times I've been here we always get greeted well and we get to choose our place to sit if we ask. We're asked for our drinks and utensils are already there ready to watch. Everything seems fine for me. The only thing they can work on is not giving the check tweeds the end while your still eating and about to finish. They should just wait til we ask for it. I will still go back there.

I am at a loss for words on this joint. Almost. My family eats out at Asian buffets pretty regularly as you can tell by my fat belly, so I have seen the good, the bad, and ugly. This spot is a little bit of 2 out of 3. You guess which 2 it could be. If hungry and in a clinch to have some Asian buffet and don't want to leave that parking lot, then go for it. Just go in with an open mind and roll with it. The place is pretty clean but looks a bit outdated and cheap. The food selection is average. Nothing about the food quality really stood out. Weekend dinner and no crab legs? The service quality is good though and relatively friendly for an Asian joint, but that's about it. As we were there for a hosted dinner, I went with it. I don't know if I would go back and pay for my own meal.

Food looks like plastic. Overcrowded and they charged me for water. The fortune cookies were good.

I don't know why this place got such bad reviews. It's clean, big, there's a large variety of food and desserts. Not Amazing quality, but not bad and tastes good. It was 8 bucks for the whole thing! I will come back

This place used to be really good when it first opened, like any other restaurant and it just went down hill. The food is not as good. Waited over 10mins to receive my drink, its only obvious the girl forgot. I only enjoy their coconut-shrimp. They do have many different foods to pick from, mainly Chinese. I was disappointed in the piece of watermelon my husband brought me, the outside had dirt... yeezus! at least wipe it. The watermelon taste like onions, it seems they did not wash/clean their knifes before cutting this sucker up. I have no clue if they clean their utensils or even wash their hands... eewww! 2 stars... that's it!

A few times I went there, the food is decent, a bit overpriced. The good thing the menu is different but wished the price was a little lower. Lot of people come and I always get a seat right away. I think the place is decent. I would go there if other places are full. It is definitely a better buffet than Hometown buffet, at least the one close to The Plant in Van Nuys.

For all the cheap people that reviewed this place! you get what you pay for. If it was cheap it will not be the best. Its a buffet. I ate here and I dont care. Its cheap. So what? nuff said. As for the customers, how can a restaurant limit loud, funky people? They can't. So not only you got the cheap, you got the ugly, and the loud. So what else? its montebello. what you expect? Eat it fool! Server stood next to our table and cleaned instantly.

To not seem so angry, i'll keep this as short as possible. Pros: - It was inexpensive Cons: - It was terrible. - It was DIRTY!!! - Most food was inedible - As bad as it was, the grapes could have at least been seedless! UGH The best part of the night was when I bought toys as i was leaving.... i know they can do better if they actually cared but they do not.

This place was pretty good the first time I came here. Better than Zen Buffet and 1/3 the price too!!! It's not very international... It's mainly asian cuisines Grapes COULD be at least seedless... but it's not! It's really hard to take out the seeds!!! THEY SERVE MANGO PUDDING AND IT IS DELICOUS!!! but warm.....

**WARNING** ****FOOD SAFETY **** I have to admit that I've been here on more than one occasion (couple times in the past 2 years). I was introduced to the place by a few of my coworkers. OK, it's cheap and it's a buffet so we could eat and get out of there to be back @ work in a timely manner. I don't eat everything.. just KEEP IT SAFE with fried rice and chicken & a few veggie dishes (I always stay AWAY from the seafood & sushi) FYI: For some reason, THERE'S ALWAYS A CHINESE TOUR BUS HERE when we come here. The whole place is always packed and it gets so hot in there. After an experience which occurred on 12/10/2010.. I have made my decision to NEVER come here again. I came here with 5 of my coworkers and one of them was eating her noodles and saw that some sort of insect had been cooked with it! I don't know what it was but it had wings?! She's usually the type to never speak up or want any kind of confrontation, but she went to grab one of the servers. The server went to grab another woman who came to our table and admitted that they just had an EXTERMINATION the night before and some of the insects must have fallen into the equipment. But assured us that "all the bugs are dead." WHAT?!? uhhh yea. This place got a "B" rating..... Everyone stopped eating at this point (we were only on our first plate & didn't get dessert or anything yet....) and asked for the bill. (no discount or anything). We just paid and left. EEEEEEK!

Ok for the price went to go to a Korean BBQ close by but they wanted 29.95 per person with limited selection so we ended up here. Over all pretty good. Service was fast and prompt. Kinda small but big enough to keep staff jumping. Constantly refilling the hot items ( good thing )

Food isnt not great. I perfer hometown buffet then this buffet. Only good thing is if your on a budget then this is the right place to go. You get what you pay for and by all means its crap. Only good thing there is the fried shrimp and french fry's

Wow....This was some of the worst slop I have ever had... I truly mean this. The place is a pig sty, the staff are a bunch of lazy dirty pigs, and the food is horrible. I came to this dump about an hour and a half before closing. The food that was displayed was old and they never replenished the food that had been empty. So you basically ate what they had left. I wasted 12.00 dollars and only had one plate that i took three or four bites. Go to this place if you want a good case of diarrhea or salmonella... Restaurant rescue could not help this place,,,HOW THIS PLACE GOT TWO STARS IS BEYOND ME.....YUK....BUT IF YOU LIKE DIRTY FILTH, THIS PLACE IS FOR YOU..

I am guilty for coming into this place. The buffett was not expensive at all. The options were pretty varied and decent. It was super loud and crowded in here. I wouldnt make a special trip to this place unless youre starving, broke, and tolerant.

Unfortunately BAD ATTITUDE, BAD SERVICE. So my family and I came here to eat and have a "pleasant" family time, but my 3 year old started feeling bad, and didn't eat nothing of he's food, he was just there sitting down, the only thing he ate was a little bit of ice cream, and dranked some soda, since i was already being charged for his plate, i figured out I could take his food, but the waitress called (I don't know if the one she called was the manager) and she said I COULDN'T TAKE his food, that the buffet included the food, and the dessert, i told the lady that my kid wasn't feeling good, and she said I should of told her, I told her I didn't know until now, besides that my 9 year old eats like a bird, she just ate a small portion of spaghetti, and some mashed potatoe, and that cost $9, oh well, she gave me her ATTITUDE, and i just told her that it was o.k, but i would NEVER coming back, for that reason I'm giving 1 star, and that because there is no option for 0 stars. They don't realize that this CHINO restaurant is NOTHING without latinos. I'm a very good tipper, but this time I paid a really high price $43.65 pretty pricey for THAT KIND OF SERVICE.

I was actually suprised at how well everything tasted for the price. The staff was fairly attentive, considering they seemed to be a little understaffed (two waitresses were on their lunch break but were getting up and working as they were eating). The roast beef (or prime rib, I'm not sure) and bbq ribs were a little "meh" but it wasn't nasty. Everything else was pretty tasty, even the honey walnut shrimp, which is one of my favorite dishes. I'm not sure what people expect for a $10.99 lunch buffet (I think it's even cheaper Mon-Fri) but get your head out of your ass you cheap people. Honestly, you should expect to go in and get food that's worth $10.99 for lunch buffet, and I think this place meets that and maybe even goes above that. If you buy a 99 cent cheeseburger from McDonalds, don't complain that it doesn't taste like a Big Mac. All in all, not bad food and service for $10.99 lunch buffet.

I thought I'd give this place a try since the buffet price seemed like a pretty good deal, and thinking to myself, "ok, it's your typical Japanese-wanna be cheap Chinese buffet". I thought the food was going to be "ok" or at least a little below average (for a Chinese buffet). Boy was I wrong. The moment I took I bite, I already knew what the rest of my lunch was going to be like, and honestly, it was not very enjoyable having to force yourself to eat cheap food. 1/2 way through my lunch, I couldn't handle it anymore. Virginia is exactly right when she said the price is cheap, and that is exactly what you get...CHEAP FOOD. Oh no.....I'm having flash backs. Just so that you can read this review and not have to experience what I've experienced. Oh the love I have for you guys.

Favorite place to go! I recommend this restaurant if you want to plan an inexpensive dinner reunion. The staff is nice and patient. Food is incredibly delicious. Varies from Salmon to Pizza to Teriyaki.

Yuck We came here for my uncles birthday-- 40 of us! We prefer buffets because its easier to accommodate so many mouths. I didn't mind the food I selected. a huge mound of imitation crab over spring lettuce, orange chicken and beef veggie soup mixed with egg soup to cut the overly salty American soup. The ribs had no meet or flavor but I was full so whatever. My poor mom can usually can have 4 plates-- alas the terrible food left her with only 1.5 plates and a belly ache. The selection was poor as well as the quality. The sushi looked gross. The seaweed salad-ew. The roast beef was tough. M dad loves beef and will chew through anything. But not this. When I would ask my family "what's good" the answer was "try it all". meaning none was good but if you taste it all at least you'll be full. The worse part is on a Sunday at 7pm it was crazy crowded and the tables are so close;y jammed. I heard the toilets were gross.

I work full-time, and was unable to come to the International Buffet on weekends. Despite this, I came this Saturday 3/24 anyway. There was no parking and had to wait 15 minutes for a spot. Restaurant got a B-rating on its latest health inspection. In all fairness I left the restaurant before even sitting down to eat. My server refused to honor a weekend buffet coupon which expired 3 days ago midweek. Because this place refused to take my $8.99 coupon (which would have saved me $1.50), I left immediately, and the International Buffet has lost my business forever. They also earned my very first negative review...congratulations.

Why it deserves a ONE: low quality food, dirty bathrooms, mildly run-down place Why I gave it a TWO: very cheap, a few of the items are decent, your plates get cleared and water filled fast Ok to eat: honey shrimp, orange chicken, baked mussels/clam thingies, some desserts Not ok to eat: runny froyo, cheese spinach, WARM sushi Good for: Anyone who has a big appetite, small wallet, and defective tastebuds Bad for: Everyone else.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
