This Starbucks is not the cleanest or the fastest on the planet but they have a lot of customers. I think they are overwhelmed and do their best to serve everyone. I always buy my tea there before going to the beach. Baristas were always very friendly. The lines sometimes are long but i have never waited more than 10 minutes.

  • Steve d.

Good coffee and always a good selection of pastries etc. The one thing that ALWAYS kills my buzz at this Starbucks however is that the service is always super slow. And I mean sloooowwwwwwww! Don't go here if you are in a hurry or just expect normal service. Slow service is the norm. However, if you have the time it's worth the wait.

  • Ray L.

No bueno aqui. Few employees but there's lots of demand! It takes so long. Easy to park at lot. Some wireless cell phone charger on each table.

    (2)
  • Laura C.

Long lines. Slow service. Sloppily made drinks (coffee was dripping off my cup) perhaps because they were backed up on drink orders. Snack case wasn't well stocked. Barista was rude. Floor looked like it hadn't been swept in days with trash and crumbs. Bathroom was disgusting with trash everywhere and no TP. If you're driving through on the 1 -- keep driving and make a pit stop elsewhere.

As a Starbucks Gold member it's so annoying going to many locations and receiving different service. I came in on a hot day, mind you it's summer, I wanted a Venti water and I was told only a tall because I wasn't buying anything else. I've gotten a Venti before at other locations so I don't see why it would be a problem here. It's just water and I spend my money on Starbucks all the effing time.. FYI coffee bean doesn't do this.

This location is by far the busiest I have been. Lines out to the door and very very congested. Customer service was really bad. Christine was very rude and unhelpful when ordering my frappucino. I also was trying to find information on how to purchase 50 tall coffee cups for a birthday party but was unhelpful with that as well. I understand that a business is busy as I work in similar environment, but the customer should not suffer because of this The drink tasted good like every Starbucks and was made quickly. I would have rated the review higher if only I would have received better treatment, respect and valued as a customer.

  • Nicole G.

I have to stand up for the busiest Starbucks ever. I like the beach atmosphere. We didn't have to wait too long in line and got our drinks in an acceptable time. The service was friendly. Don't expect a Starbucks at one of the most famous Highways of the USA to not be busy. Relax and be happy - you are in Malibu

    (4)
  • Daniel P.

Slowest, dreariest and saddest Starbucks I've been in. I'm still here 45 minutes later without my basic latte. All the tourist are glued to phones son it sure if they notice. I'll pass on by next time.

  • Lala L.

Crazy busy and ridiculously SLOW! Staff was pleasant but dont go here if u dont have 20 min to wait for a drink!

    (1)
  • Ayaka H.

Beautiful location with views....but this is hands down the busiest Starbucks I have ever been to. Expect to wait a very unreasonable amount of time waiting for your drink. I waited 20 minutes for a shaken iced tea. This is not a relaxing atmosphere as you will be surrounded by lots of people impatiently waiting for their drinks.

    (2)
  • Sanaz M.

Wow so busy, nobody looks like they want to work here. I've never been to a slower Starbucks. It's not that it was busy so they were slow, the people that work here just don't listen or don't move. The guy taking our order was talking like he was high and moving like a turtle. I think he needed coffee more than me! Not to mention the staff is rude.

This is the worst Starbucks in Malibu again worst!!! The girls bathroom never has soap didn't have soap for gee over a month until corporate was called and I asked how in the hell are the female employees washing there hands and making our drinks disgusting and gross think about. That lol did they then...... Put soap in the bathroom just last week .THEY are EXTREMELY Slow they DONT LISTEN horrible customer service and the lady who has black nappy hair looking like CRUELLA DE VIL Is rude and weird !!! The staff need retraining badly! Or replace them with people who are friendly and actually listen to what you want. Do not waste your time coming to this Starbucks go to vintage market for a drink.

  • Katie S.

I love Starbucks but even I won't wait in that line again. The staff here wasn't in a particular hurry. My husband walked over to the grocery store, got a coffee and came back before I got my iced green tea!

    (2)
  • Matthew S.

Understaffed. Waited an hour for my tea. It's not the staff's fault though. People need to be considerate to other customers. Asking for a full refund after you got your order and making the only barista stop working isn't nice.

    (1)
  • ronda a.

Fast, Even when there is a long line. The staff seems to be alot faster then then normal Starbucks. They where nice and polite.

  • Marta D.

I agree with previous reviews that it is the slowest place I've ever been to. We popped in to grab a drink after a walk on the beach. It was at least 20 minutes to get our 3 drinks. The barista was very friendly almost to a fault. She was chatting with a customer while making the drinks and more focused on her conversation then the task at hand. Then there were the cyclist lined up to get water and kept asking the Batista, the only Batista, to stop making our drinks, that we waited in line for and paid for, to get them free water with ice. The Barista did tell them she had to take care of us first, so props to her for that. We weren't in any hurry but we were confused as the why it took so long as there were only 3 people ahead of us. The drinks were good and we were happy and I'll always go to back Starbucks.

after a nice day at the beach, we decide to get a cup of coffee for the ride home... i didnt need a fancy drink or a frappe like i normally would get... just a cup of coffee to get me through... well, the girl taking my order states that they are out of coffee!!! STARBUCKS WAS OUT OF COFFEE!!! now, one would think that a place that sells coffee would have coffee and more coffee brewing, nope not here... Now, what i ordered was a Vente reg coffee... now at that point, the cashier, who had either drank all the coffee or was high on cocaine/meth decided i needed a grande french press.. she changed the size and drink too a smaller more biter drink.. so thanks for that

This Starbucks is nice and a great place to see celebrities. Check it out and you may be able to see famous people.

    (4)
  • Michelle C.

Insanely slow service. The employees don't even try to be fast. It's almost like they are purposely slow. And on top of that, they stand around and converse with other patrons who already have their drinks instead of making the drinks that people are waiting for. Awful.

    (1)
  • Vivian H.

Slowest & rudest workers. I went to ask for the bathroom code & without letting me finish my sentence, one of the workers yelled the code at me. I really wanted to enjoy the beach but I was in line waiting for at least 15 minutes because the guy on the register decided to have a full on conversation going with each customer as the line was getting longer and everyone was getting impatient. We finally ordered our drink and I waited for at least another 20 minutes. I wasted 35 minutes at this Starbucks and I've never experienced something like this in my life. I will never come here again.

    (1)
  • Ryan R.

Slow service and inefficient setup. The staff is friendly however it doesn't make up for the poor layout and obvious understaffing issues. Only stop here if you have at least 15 minutes or more. Don't say you weren't warned.

    (2)
  • Marina R.

I came to this location with my boyfriend after the beach on a Sunday around 6pm. It wasn't busy at all but why I'm giving this place one star was because of the employees. They were not friendly at all and to top that off when I asked for 2 fraps to be spit the barista got mad and try to charge me for 4. I repeated my drink and told her I wanted them to be split and she just looked at me and said " I know what you want" and rolled her eyes. When we finally paid and were waiting for our drinks they were watered down and looked discussing. I will no longer be coming to this location.

    (1)
  • James F.

The slowest Starbucks I've ever been to. The baristas look so lost and confused. I had 2 people ahead of me and I ordered 2 drinks. I sat in that store for almost 25 minutes waiting for 2 drinks. The worst part is that the employees don't even appear to be in a hurry. Save yourself some time and go down the street.

  • Francine L.

Starbucks has been honestly my drink of choice almost on a daily basis. I need that cup of coffee to start my day off right. So while driving this long distance to this amazing beautiful beach we decided to stop at this location. Parking was easy and not bad but when go inside, omg it is packed. There are at least 10 people in the line and it zig zags. Wow. Yes you do need a key code for the bathroom which is a little bit strange but probably because they have issues with beach bums or homeless people using the bathroom. Got my ice coffee but the guy that gave it to me fell quite hard. Hopefully he is ok but yea the coffee was fine and nice I just didn't like the wait and long line and the bathroom code...besides this part I think the Starbucks looks really nice inside and out.

    (2)
  • Cindy G.

Slowest Starbucks in the history of waiting at Starbucks. Jesus. Friendly baristas but dear lord it's like a solid 20 minute wait.

  • Nicole O.

I love Starbucks - I go almost every day, if not every day, I've been a gold member for more than 3 years, and I even used to work here myself. This is by far the SLOWEST Starbucks I have ever been to in my life. I'm a California native and understand the lax lifestyle, but this was ridiculous. My entire family was able to order lunch, receive it, pay, and secure surfboards/paddle boards for the day before I was even able to get my iced coffee. First of all - hand out the coffees/iced coffees/hot teas at the register. There is absolutely no reason to put them in the handcrafted beverage line when they literally take 30 seconds to put together. I know the people working at the register are competent enough to do it themselves, just like at every other Starbucks in the country. Second of all, have some sense of urgency. People getting coffees are usually trying to get in and get on with their lives. It shouldn't be a 30 minute ordeal when you're getting coffee to go. Pick it up, Starbucks.

    (1)
  • Devin M.

Sooooo sloooooow. For years this location has had an uncanny ability to turn a line of 5 people into a 15 minute wait.

Rally cool spot, but really slow and not so friendly service. Really came as a surprisr

    (2)

today's after surf coffee stop on Easter Sunday was packed ! but it in malibu and it's probably one of the most busiest stores around. Soooo don't be in a hurry at this starbucks and enjoy the beach.

  • Shawnee N.

This is a great location, beautiful Starbuck's but the service is so slow it's like being stuck on the 405 during rush hour. Hopefully, they will get the staff more help.

    (2)
  • D K.

Probably won't be back. Manager terribly rude. She even asked a customer who questioned whether the chicken scratching on the cup spelled her name and manager said "Does it look like ___?" Honestly. I was shocked at manager's demeanor. Girl find another job!

  • Alexander M.

Comfortable store in rustic looking shopping center. Can get very crowded at times. Just as good as other starbucks!

    (4)
  • Jeffrey L.

Horrible and slow service, long line, mixing orders, horrid experience EVERY SINGLE TIME. Avoid if you can.

    (1)
  • Greg W.

I went here for an ice tea last Sunday and wow what a wait. They must have had over 30 people in the store yet of the 4 employees only ONE was actually making drinks. I waited over 15 minutes to get a plain cold ice tea. The location is clean but not laid out well and there is lots of wasted space while people stand in odd locations to wait.

Wow, first time I've experienced a disgruntled Starbucks Employee. I thought Starbucks was the home of the happiest employees? What happened? Here's a call out to Starbucks Corporate, figure out what's wrong in Malibu!!

    (1)
  • Mary N.

This Starbucks consistently has slow service and screws up orders. Employees are clueless. Not at all up to usual Starbucks standards. Huge disappointment. Please fix!

    (1)
  • Paul S.

specifically came to this location because of how cute the design of the store itself is. unfortunately the staff inside aren't quite so cute. the two partners behind the counter were rude, bordering on confrontational. apparently if you don't specify that you want more than a couple ice cubes in your iced coffee and request they add more, this constitutes changing your mind. and the barista will make it a point to shame you for said change of mind. repeatedly. sat by the bar and watched this same barista treat other customers rudely, screw up drinks and blame the customers who ordered them and just generally fail at starbucks-ing all together. starbucks needs to clean house here.

    (1)
  • Max G.

The service is awful ! All the employees are 100% unprofessional. They mix the orders and compliant when they have to re-do them (when they originally made the mistake)

    (1)
  • Ray M.

This was a very cute location. The staff was nice and a perfect stop off on the way to watch the sunset at Zuma. The perfect time of year for a PSL! Fall is in the air and there are several nice outside areas to take in all that Malibu has to offer!

    (4)
  • Steve C.

This place sucks, understaffed and everyone that works here is very unprofessional. The manager has not properly trained anyone here and none of the staff know how to make basic drinks. If you're the owner, WAKE UP!!

  • Ann L.

I'm from Houston Texas. Went road tripping here since yesterday and I have stopped by this Starbucks three times. I love starbucks so much that I keep giving this store another chance but ALL their employees are MEAN AND RUDE. especially to gold members. I have never had a problem when ordering two drinks and ask them to ring up separate transaction to get the points. All places I have been to before have smiled and said they understood why. This place ALL THREE TIMES gives me attitude and it's not even busy. And I got the "must be a points thing" and eye rolling. What kind of customer service is this????!!!! Not cool Malibu. All their employees were full of attitude. Never again. They don't have the southern hospitality like Texas does. Disappointed.

I have been to many Starbucks. Between LA to Seattle, I must have sipped coffee in over 30 locations. They say that all Starbucks are created equal, but that could not be further from the truth. This is the BEST Starbucks I've had the pleasure of visiting. I drive an hour just to come to this location. Sitting majestically on the Pacific Coast Highway, this setting lives up to the beauty of the California coastline. The exterior is modern: slick and clean. The interior remains open, with a high ceiling and floor-to-ceiling windows lining the walls. There are always seats, from couches to tables and even a bar. The relaxed setting defines the atmosphere, giving it a calm and soothing vibe. It could not be more different than my local Starbucks in Westwood. The staff are friendly, joking and poking fun as if I was an old friend. I missed the "Frappuccino Happy Hour" by almost two hours. Seeing my disappointment, the manager told the cashier to give me half off on anything. In the spirit of the happy hour, I order two Frappuccino, made excellently and adorned with cookie crumbles and caramel swirls. To top it off, the internet. This is often my biggest complaint at Starbucks; over-burdened bandwidth can be as slow as 2 mbps. I've been to Starbucks where I cannot even load a single webpage. But I noticed something different about this one. The network was called "Google Starbucks," in contrast to the miserable AT&T networks they usually have. Webpages loaded with incredibly speed, and so I was moved to test the speed of the connection. I got 130 MBPS, THE FASTEST INTERNET I'VE EVER SEEN. Thank you Starbucks, for this gem of a coffee shop sitting in the middle of paradise. This visit made my day, the drive was breathtaking, and the staff welcoming. Without a doubt, I've never been to a better Starbucks. This is what a coffee shop is meant to be.

    1. August 17 2013 @ 06:30pm 2. Stephanie Middle Age Redish Brown hair cashier wearing black long sleeve ignored me even though I was the 1st in line and was waiting in line long. She helped the couple after me. 3. They don't have outlets for laptops. 4. Floors are always dirty. 5. Trash is usually full. 9. Joshua black glasses and black hair is usually the nice cashier. 10. They were out of soap at the female restroom. I stood at the counter for a while to to try to inform them and the Starbucks staff (young white guy w/ brownish short ponytail and lower chin beard black top) ignored me and another older gentleman that was waiting long.

Requested a blended espresso over ice and was refused. "We don't do that". I was told to order a frappuccino but specifically did not want the cream/etc. I asked again, surprised at the inflexibility, and again was refused. It's not complicated, there was no one in line behind me and I know people who have ordered this at other Starbucks. I left empty handed and disappointed.

  • Norm K.

I've been to this Starbucks once before. It's a bit different now--at least for awhile. The plaza is being re-done and the Starbucks is in a temporary trailer. There are some outdoor seats. The barista told me they should be back in the building by the end of April. I got my standard 4 shot espresso over ice. After a seven mile hike, that really tasted good. The staff was very polite and attentive especially given their less than satisfactory trailer experience. I didn't take a photo but I should have. It would be fun to look back at what was and what takes it place.

Extremely slow service at this location. The staff were completely overwhelmed by the crowd of customers and did not seem too happy to be there. Everyone in line was complaining while they waited 25 minutes for drinks.

    (2)
  • Andy C.

Oof. Slowest slow slow slow service in recent memory at a Starbucks. I think we had about 10 people ahead of us in line and waited over 20 minutes just to order. Coffee.

On the way back to LA from Ventura, and needed some caffeine. Nice little nonfat caffe latte for the road. Not many people, everyone friendly, good parking.

  • Daniela B.

This is quite possibly the worst Starbucks location I've ever been to. Came here on a Sunday afternoon & it was beyond packed! The shopping center is being remodeled & there is nowhere to park. Once you finally do find parking & go inside there is a super long line to order & no open seating. I guess people in Malibu don't know how to brew their own coffee cause they're all at Starbucks. Another negative are the bathrooms... There was a line & you need a code (it's 1000). After waiting about 5-10 mins, I went in & was disgusted by how dirty it was. I understand there's a lot of customers, but Starbucks can afford to hire enough staff to ensure their bathrooms are being cleaned periodically.

The worst Starbucks in the world~I ordered a strawberry smoothy and it taste so bad~The elder lady was super slow and I can't understand why she had this bad attitude for work~This is not a good location~Don't try~

Love this Starbucks on drive on PCH, Malibu/Ventura. Barista was so friendly!! : ) Loved my Iced Green Tea!!

    (5)
  • Christopher C.

Big fan of this location for post surfing breakfast. I think everyone knows Starbucks already, but the location here is awesome based on its proximity to PCH and the Ocean. I would go 5-stars if they would have some tables outside for us to sit and a little more trained staff. Instead everyone is standing around and there are only a few places to sit. This is a bad management decision and the reason I am only going 4-stars for an otherwise 5-star location. Also, the Staff on Sunday morning is unable to keep up with the demand and I witnessed multiple people just walking away after waiting in a very long line. I hope the owner realizes that based on an inefficient staff he is losing sales. Probably not good for a high rent location like this.

I've worked in Malibu on and off for years and am familiar with the Starbucks located at Trancas. I found myself driving past it, so I popped in at 9:31 am on July 31st. for mid morning coffee. I have been here many times before and was prepared for the slower than usual service from this Starbucks. However, as there is construction in progress there, I thought it would be quite. Wrong! There was five servers behind the counter, so how long could it take. Wrong! Just under twenty minutes later, I made my exit. Jeez, will I never learn, Tigers do not lose their stripes! This place will never change. This Starbucks is fine if you're writing a screenplay, stargazing, want to be seen or have a lot of time on your hands: not for the person who wants a quick cup of coffee or with a schedule. But, the fault of poor service is not all Starbucks. Little blue eyed, blond, 3 year old "Brittany" could not make up her mind what kind of pastry she wanted. So everyone waits, and waits...................... Note to Starbucks management; while I waited 8 customers abandoned the coffee they came for; 3 from the line I was in and 5 did abrupt "U" turns at the entrance, some of these folks were in parties of two and three. You may need to take a closer look here.

This review is long overdue, but on Labor Day, after a wonderful afternoon at the beach with my boyfriend, he and I decided to stop at Starbucks on our way home. It's become a Labor Day tradition for us to go to the beach, grab some dinner, and then head back to the city in the evening with some Starbucks to tide us over. The past couple of years, we have visited this specific location, but this time it was a horrible experience. When we walked in, there were only 5 people ahead of us in line, which is a pretty typical line length. In every other location I've ever been to, it would only have taken about 10 minutes to walk out with my drink. My boyfriend and I ended up being in that Starbucks for 35 minutes. It took just over 10 minutes to even get to the front of the line to place our orders (which we placed at the same time, and paid for together and my drink still ended up taking 5 minutes longer than his). There is abosolutely no reason why, with three people making drinks, it should have taken over 20 minutes for our drinks to be made. It seemed like one of the girls may have been new, but the other two women who were making drinks did not seem new, and they also did not seem concerned at the growing line of empty cups waiting to be filled. There was a man who was already waiting for his drink when I walked over, and he asked one of the women if she could just pour his drink since all he wanted was an iced black tea with lemonade, and her response (which was full of attitude) was, "You know, I understand you have a simple order, but every single person in here who is ahead of you has AT LEAST 20 modifications to their orders. So that's why this is taking so long. If they didn't have so many modifications, we would be able to move a lot faster." I had only ordered a Pumpkin Spice Frap (with coconut milk, because I am lactose intolerant), so I jumped in and said, "Well... let's be fair. Not every single one of those drinks has TWENTY modifications to them. That's a bit of an exaggeration." She then proceeded to walk over, look at all of the cups individually, then come back and say, "Okay, you're right. Not all of them. About 80% have at least 20 modifications." ...Okay. I have never worked at Starbucks, but a friend of mine has for years, and I know that some people have ridiculously specific drink requests, but the drinks that one of the other women was calling out were things like steamed coconut milk, coffee with room for cream, lemon ale... none of the drinks called out had 20 modifications. That woman was just being rude, and I have finally decided to post about this because it still makes me angry. I was in Malibu for work yesterday and passed this Starbucks, and instead of stopping for a coffee, I waited until I passed another. It just upsets me when people are rude for no reason, and I wish I would have made note of her name. I understand they were busy, but then all the more reason not to make a big production and look at every drink while people are patiently waiting for their orders. And the people who chose not to wait weren't rude about it - they just walked out without their drinks. So this was a very mild crowd. I remember three people that day who gave this Starbucks location money to wait around for 30 minutes and leave without a drink. Maybe I'll stop by here in a year or two when their staff is hopefully different.

    (1)
  • Tommy G.

The workers have the worst attitude I have seen. I just wanted to yell at them for being so rude and unhelpful. I guess that's the malibu mentality. You must be rude to get service. The only good thing this location has its the location.

    (2)
  • Jay T.

The service is a little slow, but then again so are most people in LA, so I can't complain. I have no qualms about this place. It's a Starbucks: a place that sells coffee, incredibly strong tea, and violently sweet cider. Starbucks Trancas is more of a carnival of tragedic personalities in a California coastal style showroom than a coffee shop. I like it. This place always has at least two cyclists, one old and one very overweight, a patron with bad plastic surgery, and some guy driving whatever sports/muscle car he pulled out of his garage for his aprés-I-just-woke-up-and-thus-need-to-drive-somewhere coffee break. Oh, there is sitting room... if you don't mind sitting with someone at a table designed for four people.

    (4)
  • Peter N.

Waited over 14 minutes for a double shot of espresso...finally just walked out. Its not like you're making a four course meal...service is slow and inefficient.

Slow service makes it 4-stars instead of 5. Really beautiful store inside and out! Great coffee of course. Lovely location on the coast.

    (4)
  • Vicky Z.

I stop here just about weekly for my afternoon fix in between client visits. Coffee tastes the same at pretty much every Starbucks, but this particular location lacks the welcoming, friendly staff that most other Starbucks offer. Maybe they're constantly busy, but what Starbucks isn't? No excuse. The inside seating area is small, and the outside seating is nice but also limited. I get in and get out and pick up a Malibu Times on the way.

    (3)
  • Craig W.

Starbucks is Starbucks and yes, this one is a little awkwardly designed and cramped inside. On the other hand, it's in a zillion dollar location, with a freaking ocean view, and two comfortable patios for excellent people watching. I didn't see any celebrities but did enjoy watching the normal (so to speak) mix of Angelenos which included freaks, tourists, and the ultra rich. Lots of free parking. By the way, we saw no less than 12 cops as we went into and out of Malibu. Watch the speed limit signs carefully and control your anti-Semitic outbursts or they'll nab you quicker than you can say, "Sugart*ts."

On 3/3/12 There was a lady with a dog sitting inside the store. Little while later she propped her dog up on a chair at the same table and was feeding her from some food she had purchased in the store. She was drinking her coffee. The dog was not a service animal nor a guide dog. The store employees apparently knew the lady I believe. Pets are not allowed inside stores and restaurants. I would hate to come and sit and eat/drink on the same table. Very unhygienic.

In 2002 we Saw Pamela Anderson in here twice with some friends of hers. We Saw Tommy Lee in here about seven times, by himself. That made my heart jump around a lot better than the coffee did.

  • Richard D.

Bad service. Barista is an rude and forgetful. She gave us attitude when we came back asking her to correct our order. Don't get mad at me that you forgot. Externalizing your personal issues on customers doesn't equate to 5 star reviews.

  • Fieora C.

Yes the view is GREAT... Yes there are GORGEOUS people everywhere and the coffee is Ok ... WHY and HOW can you serve coffee which is a diuretic and NOT have a restroom ... I swear my bladder was fully loaded and I literally started sweating in panic I needed to pee so bad.... Rather get your coffee at the Trancas Market next door and walk down to the beach where there ARE WORKING RESTROOMS and plenty to see!

Nice staff, clean place and plenty of tables. The time I went here it was a perfect starbucks experience. There is plenty of parking right outside and no line in the coffee shop. I got a hot chocolate and it isn't easy to make a delicious tasting hot chocolate. These guys got it right for me.

It is not your best Stabucks. You can be sure, the restroom will be out of service, and there will be a notice saying "We promise we will fix the restroom shortly", I believe you can come back a year from today, and restroom will still be out of service, and note will still be there. If Starbucks at Promenade Santa Monica can manage to have a perfect restroom, this starbucks should too.

When you make the trip up PCH like I do you are sort of held captive by this starbucks in Trancas, bathrooms are an issue here...actually the coffee at the Trancas market next door is just as good

This Trancas Starbucks is a mecca for celebrity sightings but you might not realize who is behind you in line because they are always so dressed down! Goldie Hawn, Pierce Brosnan, Laird Hamilton & wife, Cindy Crawford-they all need their Malibu caffeine fix! Even so, I was struck by how busy this place was on a lazy afternoon! A line out the door, but I prefer this Starbucks to the Malibu Country Mart one that is so damn congested. The outdoor seating is nice, if strewn with Sunday newspapers and the Wi Fi is excellent. I scored a big table next to an electrical socket- and here I am now typing away. I do believe that Starbucks needs to hire more people for this location because the employees are clearly over-worked and in need of assistance. The turnover of workers may be the culprit but there should be top-notch service here-and all the big movie stars and surfers that frequent this particular Starbucks should be demanding it! If this review of an otherwise great and scenic location can help rectify an employment situation that could use some fixing-well then-here it is!

This is a pretty good Starbucks as far as Starbucks go. Free wifi and a nice outdoor seating area - plus, it is the only place to get coffee in a 20 mile radius of my boyfriend's parents house. Plus, it is an excellent celebrity spotting location.

came here at 9 pm on a Tuesday night. Forget about the celebs, there's an effing hot blonde barista here. The girl working with him does not know how to smile.

I get my coffee here. Service is good. The only downside of this particular branch is that they turn the AC up. It's winter inside this place year round.

I really don't like Starbucks. And I like this one even less. They seem a little overwhelmed. It's possible they can't hire enough staff - but in this economy its doubtful. I am kind of amazed that Starbucks has wormed its way into this beautiful of a surrounding. I had high hopes of something more independent and tasty. If your into Starbucks - this one at least is close to some amazing views.

Good location for road warriors. Service better than average. Same old coffee though.

Come here to people watch. Grab a cup of coffee while you sit. Nice, cheap entertainment in an expensive town.

I have been riding up the coast for 25 years and buying coffee at this joint...not anymore. I am so tired of the BS with the baristas there who can't seem to figure out there is something called customer service. Tell me why out of 4 women working behind the counter on a slow morning, none of them could fill up a water bottle for me without telling me it had to be in the drink line....last time for sure. Attitude and bs. Instead of writing books, start hiring some competent people....or not.

Was there New Years Day and waited over 40 minutes for coffee. They were understaffed for what was a busy day and then ran out of coffee. They ran out of coffee. Was there an apology? No. Free coffee? No. A 10 minute wait after having stood in line for 30 minutes already... yes.

nothing to write home about - just standard Starbucks deal. We figured out a way around their no iced espresso policy - just get a cup of ice!

love to stop here and grab my caffeine fix. i tend to stop in the morning. when i have ordered baked goods, they have been very fresh and moist. although it is tiny and usually full, it is very clean and ive never had a bad experience with staff.

I was running on the PCH near Zuma Beach and was hurting and thirsty so I stopped at this Starbucks...nothing more, typical Starbucks. However, I felt I needed to review it because it's within walking distance to the beach and that's great.

they are too slow and are always swamped. even when there are not many in the store the employees work slow. the food case is always empty and the bagels stale.
