Very friendly staff and relatively quick service. Just what I want in a fast food chain! And then there's the fact that they have the choose your own Coke machines! Those are the absolute best!! However, just remember that if you put some of the sauces (I do BBQ most of the time) it is very running so your burgers will make a mess. I seem to go through way more napkins than I should when I eat here. Now...if only they would start selling shakes like I know they're testing out in some markets. Yum!!

First time here & wasn't very impressed. Didn't know the difference between the regular & jr. Apparently its one patty vs. two. Had to ask a ton of questions before the girl at the register told us that. The price point is pretty steep for these burgers and the quality is average & nothing special. The wait that afternoon was long and we were the only ones waiting on food. It took about 15 minutes. At least there were stale shelled peanuts for us to munch on while we waited. I seriously wanted in & out but the line was ridiculous, so we decided to give this place a try. Next time I'll wait in line and pay less money for some tasty burgers!

Tried it for the first time today. Paid 10 dollars for a little cheeseburger and regular fries....worth maybe 6 dollars at the most in taste and quality. Cashier looked annoyed with my existence. Bummer.

In all fairness I'm vegan. I was pleased they had something for me to eat but it wasn't the most amazing thing ever, but I understand that as it's not what the place is known for. The fries were great and I liked being able to choose the sauce for my veggie sandwich. Would I eat here again? Probably not on my own but if one of my omnivore friends wanted to go, it's nice to know I have an option.

THEEEE BEST BURGER IVE EVER HAD! Better than in and out, better than any local burger joint I've ever been to! The fries are to die for, the soda fountain options are endless, and the music they play is fantastic. My suggestion is the cheeseburger. Pick whatever toppings you want because they let you do that! It tastes fresh, the cheese is real cheddar cheese... Nothing else compares.

World's smallest Grilled Cheese! Good think I wasn't starving. I can't believe I paid $9 for that, fries and a drink. In all fairness it was tasty....but gone in 4 bites. Even the kid's meal grilled cheese at Jack in the Box is bigger than this.

This location is pretty consistent. I like that Five Guys gives customers the option of having their burger in a bowl, and that's how I order it to cut down on bread. My order is usually a hamburger with extra veggies: lettuce, tomato, pickle, grilled mushrooms. Is it weird that I like that their burgers are wrapped in foil? it reminds me of olden times. The beef always tastes fresh and well-seasoned, and the veggies are always crisp and cold. I love that they offer grilled mushrooms, onions and green peppers and even bacon! Also, their French fries are made from natural-cut real potatoes and while at first I didn't care for them, now I love them! The one suggestion I might have would be the same for many burger chains and that is to consider offering real cheese instead of processed American cheese. I love cheese, but need to stay away from the processed stuff. There's plenty of parking in the shared lot, but traffic can get heavy on Candlewood so avoid taking a left when leaving this parking lot. TIP: Note that the regular hamburger has two patties, and the little hamburger has one. French fry orders are plentiful, so a large should be shared between 2-3 people.

They make a pretty decent burger here at five guy burger. I think the only thing I would take issue with is you don't get a whole lot of beef for your buck in my opinion. Burgers tasty buns were warm and fresh but they just kind of slide show on the on the beef make sure you go with a double for you meat lovers.

Last night I tried Five Guys for the first time and it was ok. The staff was friendly, waiting time wasn't to bad, burger was alright. About the only real good thing was the Cajun fries. In my opinion a bit too expensive best bet is stick to Inn N Out or The Habit. My order was to go and one thing I did not like at all was the wrapper used to wrap the burgers was so oily and had seasoning all over it! It was a mess my hands were all greasy before I even picked up the burger, not good at all.

This place F&*CKIN sux!!!! Save your calories and go to The Habit. Food at 5 Guys isn't good at all and WAAAAAYYYY expensive for what you get. I got 1 burger, 1 BLT (which was horrible) and 1 fries for $20!!!! With so much competition I am surprised they are still in business. Burgers were small. BLT was made on a hamburger bun (which I didn't know and wasn't explained to me), and the bacon was in a million, crumbly pieces - Not long fat strips like you usually get on a BLT. Nothing at all special here and all of this could have been made at home. After a few years of never trying this place I decided, "hey why not" and went there. Even the husband didn't like it. This was my first and last visit to this place.

Food is good and staff too. Only downsize is the price. Kinda expensive for that price I rather go to a better restaurant. Also no milkshakes really 2015 burger joint and no molkshakes on menu

Love the food, horrible service! The cashier was such a bxtch, she didn't let us order our food as we wanted, was very obviously rushing us and was just extremely unfriendly and pissed off! If you don't like your job then quit and look for something else.

Pretty good burgers. I love In-N-Out, but Five Guys is a great place to go to after In-N-Out satiation.

  • Victor O.

The hamburgers are a little more expensive but they are incredible. An order of french fries feeds three people. There are Cajun fries too -- very delicious. There are also free peanuts. The soda machine does a large variety of soft drinks -- any flavor of Coke or Fanta and other beverages that you would like. Service is very friendly.

I like five guys burgers and fries and this is my second trip but the first one to this particular location. They have a very straightforward approach to ordering and I thought they communicated well with me. I got a very good burger and yes I would have to say that this burger was better than the ones I get at In and Out. There are a lot of folks that compare the two but two me there is no comparison.

    (4)
  • Louie A.

More Bun Than Burger The food is good but I was left wondering why I had so much bun left over with no meat. I thought it was only me but the person with me also had this dilemma. The fries were good and fresh. The music is a punk rock mix with some classic grunge so if you dislike that style it may ruin your experience. I love the music so it's all good. It helped me forget where the beef is for the most part.

Expensive!! Lil Burger(1 patty)=$4.29, Lil Fry(enough for 2 people)=$2.79, Small(Regular)soda(free refills)=$2.29. $10.22 out the door. The fries are made to order, sliced on premises, skin on, and very hot out of the fryer. They do have the new Coca-Cola 1001 flavor mix machines. And of course FREE peanuts. ALL orders are packed in paper bags and the burgers are TIGHTLY wrapped in foil.

No ranch, No Pickles, can't remeber if there's cheese Lol. but Tams joint is way better . burger , hmmm just regular nothing special In & Out has more to their burger Than this place.

I was a calorie conscious weirdo and got a bunless little hamburger with grilled onions and mushrooms, with fries lol. I improvised and ate it like carne asada fries with hot sauce, but five guys burger fries lol. I'm sure my co-workers thought that was weird but whatever, that's me! Just to note a bun is 260 calories and a patty is just 220 calories and I had a dinner later that night, so I had to be calorie conscious lol. I should mention the little hamburger doesn't mean its a little hamburger! It just means a single patty. The regular burgers comes with two patties. The fries were pretty good. I got the cajun fries.... it was more of a hint of cajun but I still liked it. Isn't it funny how many Five Guys locations are popping up in Cali and are being compared to In N Out, like all the time? Too many loyal In N Out fans here on Yelp, including myself. The food here is good nonetheless, but more pricier than In N Out. Also they have music and free peanuts! In N Out doesn't play music, my co-worker pointed out.

  • Sarah C.

I love Five Guys. The reason for three stars is the fries. Idk whats with this location but they are never cooked enough. Ive even asked for extra crispy fries and they still came out cold and potatoey. Maybe its just their fries, but i will be venturing to the other location for future Five Guys cravings

  • Marcus L.

Summary: So the main debate is In n Out vs. Five Guys. What I think is that In n Out has a better burger even though Five guys gives you more options. Five Guys wins in the fry department though. That isn't saying much though because I think In n Out fries are some of the worst fries out there haha. But if you want a REAL burger, drive a minute further to Fuddruckers. I think they are in another league. Food: Burger - Good burger and I like that you get a good number of topping options... esp. the mushrooms and peppers Fries - good fries Parking: Good sized parking lot

Always a bit of the fatalistic rebel, I went to Five Guys after my doc said I'm doing fine and that whatever I'm doing ,"Keep it up". Though he'd probably choke knowing I went here for one of Five Guys' delicious burgers and awesome fries, my tummy told me I did the right thing. The fries were done perfectly and tasted like...well, potatoes, real potatoes. Fresh, too! The burger looked hand-formed and not pried off a frozen core-sample of patties and skidded across a hot oven top. The veggies were cooked like I like 'em, crunchy but not raw, caramelized juicy brown and full of flavor. I for one, am glad they have this shop along "restaurant row" and will be the good patient by doing what it is that keeps me healthy, even if that means grabbing a burger with fries now and then. It's worth it. My tummy tells me so.

This place I can say without a doubt is amazing the burger are like biting into a piece of heaven the fires are delicious and the free peanuts are an amazing before or after snack. I recommend the bacon cheese burger as I always et that when I come here but next time for sure I'm going to try the bacon hotdog and I can already tell that it will be amazing! Can't wait to return ere soon with some friends to have a sweet kick it spot!

My daughter and I gave this place a try. Not impressed at all. Took forever to get our order only to get a thick burger with no flavor at all, that sat in my stomach like a rock. Fries were over cooked as well. Will not be going back.

  • Kathy S.

Super good burger! Very large & messy.. I like that you get to choose A-1 steak sauce.. Or bbq sauce to go on it as well. The portion is fairly big.. Especially on the fries... A bit pricey for a burger joint.. But worth the price.

I LOVE 5 GUYS & I love this location a whole lot more than Cerritos. They are nicer, faster, cleaner & most importantly the food taste alot better oh & another plus, they are alot closer to home. I found this location 1 morning on the way to work about 2 months ago & we have been here quite a few times........and have yet to have 1 complaint.

What can I say about 5- Guys in Lakewood it used to be my favorite place to have lunch. Again I said used to be. With new management it has gone down hill fast. The music is louder and the tables and floors are dirtier and not just once but my last three visits. It makes me not want to eat there. If its dirty in the dining area then its dirty in the food prep area. I brought it to the attention of corporate but all they did was have the manager writes me a B.S. letter about how busy they are. Funny I never see the manager out in front. I guess the manager hides in the office when its busy. By the way the guy with the orange hair should be wearing a hair net or hat since he grills the burgers. New topping orange curly hairs, no extra charge .Yikes.

I was driving around Lakewood trying to figure out what I wanted to eat when I remembered my Mom (who lives in Pennsylvania) telling me that she had 5 Guys and that it was amazing. Lo and behold, there was one directly to my left! I have heard that this place rivals even In N Out, and I'm not surprised. I ordered a cheeseburger (single) with mayo, grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and grilled jalapenos. I got the cajun fries to go with it. The order of fires was massive; I couldn't finish all of them. Although they were pretty salty, the rich spice made up for it and I enjoyed what I could eat of them quite thoroughly. I demolished the burger, even despite how big it was. It was so juicy and hot and full of flavor. I actually think I liked this place better than In N Out. It was a little pricey (about $12 for burger, fries, and drink), but I think it was WELL worth it. I will definitely be coming back!

We recently came here. The hamburgers are HUGE, they have double patties and they are soaked in flavor. I'm pretty surprised at the other Yelp reviews mentioning the hamburger about not tasting good, I almost believe that they might have posted the review on the wrong business but to each its own. Cajun fries were great. They give away peanuts - nice gesture - For sure pricey but extremely tasty hamburgers for sure! Highly recommend this place!!

    (5)
  • Trinh T.

Love the fact I can add as many toppings as I want for one HIGH price. LOL. If your comparing prices to In N out then Five guys ends up being double the price.

  • Steve S.

Finally tried this place and was underwhelmed. The staff needs some pointers. The young man gave me the drink cups with the tops on the counter (upside down). I personally don't care for the ads on the walls bragging about their reviews in the zagat guide or whatever. If your food is good, you don't have to announce it. I also didn't care for the music that was the worst rock of the 80's. For this neighborhood, I would recommend Fuddruckers for dining in, In and Out for take out, and Carl's if you want the lowest price. And if you want burgers and fries at a table with service, then I'd go down to Dale's Diner.

First time to any of these ever, and I loved it! Delicious food and free peanuts! It's like a subway for burgers! Love it! :)

As mentioned over and over....The people who claimed Five Guys to be better than In n Out are trippin...its not even close. However, if I were to compare this place to Tams Burgers or any of your local tom foolery burger stands (douglas, toms jr., golden eagle, you get the picture)the place really stands out. I like that there is a Five Guys close by because I almost considered driving out to try one out since the place has made a name for itself in Southern Cal. I've been here a couple times for a cheeseburger with toppings of my choice (the grilled mushrooms help out big time). The fries meets my expetations (but not In n Outs) and the decorations and red coplors everywhere is cool. I support Five Guys and will continue to do so.

  • Reyes V.

First time trying it, burgers were good, fries as well, they have a kool soda machine, nothing else really to report I went at 1 on a weekday, no wait served fast

  • Christian R.

I totally enjoy Five Guys Restaurant! Whether if it's I'm devouring a delicious bacon burger or some kickin' Cajun fries it's all around great food. The self serve peanuts are a pretty convenient as well. I love e you Five Guys!

  • Amber F.

I've admittedly been kind of ambivalent about Five Guys since I first tried it by my old place in Orange County. It's not a life changing hamburger, but it's not terrible either. If it's where somebody really wants to eat, I'll go along with it. Kind of pricey, but not outrageously so. The highlight of a Five Guys for me is really Cajun Fries. I love, love the Cajun Fries. But not from this location. I have no idea what the deal is here, but the fries always, always come to me burned. Always. Also, the last couple of burgers from here were kind of unpleasant. Soggy, messy, greasy unpleasantness. I thought maybe I was just being hypercritical but the last time the family and I ate there, they made the same comments. It'll definitely be awhile before I brave this place again.

  • Fernando A.

Finally got to try Five Guys. Solid burger. What's nice is that you can choose all the toppings you want. Be warned, its automatically a double patty unless you order the junior. While I'm not complaining, I definitely don't need that much beef digesting in my stomach. The fries were just ok for me. I prefer thin, crispy Belgian style fries over homecut fries. In my scorebook, for fast food chains, the ranking goes: Fatburger on top, 5 Guys second, then In n Out. All these lose out to local joints Fantastic Burger (because of their fried zucchini) at the same price point. I still think Blackbird is a definite step up in quality and taste, and about the same price. The Waiting Room in Redondo is still the best burger I've had, but I haven't tried Umami yet.

Wack F this place, I wanted a charbroiled burger & heard a lot about this spot so decided to wander in. The dude working the front wasn't helpful at all & then finally explains everything on the menu is sold separately. Wtf dude your not bandai (batteries sold separately) a combo would basically cost you around 16$ per person. I was expecting a huge Fuddruckers type of burger & it was nothing special.. I'd rather go eat a burger at Denny's where I get an entire meal for about 8$

  • KB T.

First timer here... OVERALL: thumbs down. Overpriced. Burger was good everything else including service was wack! Unless you want to ruin the odyssey that typically is associated with it, DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT GET THE GRILLED CHEESE SANDWICH! It sucks major donkey testicles times infinite times infinite. Seriously? How do you mess up a grilled cheese sandwich? Something I have never done when eating a grilled cheese sandwich: I took one bite and spat it out in disgust. In disbelief I tried to take another bite and the result was the same. The wonder bread exterior was soggy. The taste was far from what you'd expect to be associated with the delicious idea of melted cheese in between grilled bread. Even my best friend and his wife both attempted to take a bite and both spat it out like a fat kid rejecting the brussel sprouts his mom forced him to eat. Cajun Fries were nothing to brag about. I didn't finish them which, for a fat guy on cheat day, is unheard of and a definite indicator that they were not good at all. Double Cheeseburger with all the toppings was, as expected, really good. Had that old fashioned taste to it that reminded me of the good ol' days when obese people were just called fat and not obese. Service was great (at first) since the cashier, being that it was my first time, gave me the run down of how to order and what to order. Now that I think about it that fool lied to me. Dude told me the grilled cheese was popular. I will pray that he gets Lou Gehrig's disease and AIDS (the deadly kind not the one Magic Johnson got). While waiting and eating the complimentary shelled peanuts, a caked-up makeup cholo chick in chuck taylors and atrociously pink girlie socks and her grenade friend came in after us and somehow they got their burgers way before we got ours. How long does it take to make a soggy grilled cheese sandwich? FML

  • Navely A.

This place is great. You get a great burger with fresh ingredients. I spend about $20 odd something dollars for two people every time i go and i think it is very worth it. The burger and fries here are all about flavor not price and speed like In-n-out where you get very bland tasting food.

    (5)
  • Kate P.

Honestly, I think Five Guys fell victim to a case of being over-hyped. The burgers are decent... But from everything I've heard about them I thought they would be better. My experience here did not warrant the raves of excellence I always hear about his place. The service was sub-par... The girl working the counter stared at my guy friend the whole time she was taking my order. She didn't make eye contact with me once. It was awkward. As for the food... The burger tasted like something I could have made better at home. But the Cajun Fries were super tasty and the portion we got of them was HUGE! In conclusion, I wouldn't go out of my way to return to Five Guys. But if I happened to be standing right in front of it and craving fries I would go in.

    (2)
  • Jimmy K.

It's just okay. Pros: +3 *Burgers are not gross, so that's a plus. *Fries are good, & so are the Cajun Fries. *Service is decent. Cons: -2 *Costs too much. *The burger is too small. It may take an average person 2 burgers ($$$$) Final Thoughts: It is indeed over hyped. In-N-Out continues to reign as the king of all hamburgers. I would only come back if another friend suggests this place for lunch, other than that, I wouldn't come back, because I'd be at In-N-Out.

    (3)
  • Elizabeth B.

3 stars because the fries were pretty good. Unfortunately the fries don't make up for the burgers. I'm not sure what all the burger hype is about, I was pretty excited to try it since everyone raves about them but the meat tasted plain, the buns were soggy, and the toppings offered were pretty standard. It ended up being an expensive and not too exciting meal.

    (3)
  • Danielle B.

I gave five guys three stars only because the service was okay. I paid 35.00 dollars for three burgers, a large fry, and two large drinks....kinda steep in my opinion. My fiance and i wanted to try this place after rave reviews on YouTube. My burger was very bland, the bacon on it was burnt, my grilled onions were simply heated up, and the fries were so bland that i had to drown them in ketchup to eat them. The best part of my meal was the coke! I can make better burgers and fries at home and it won't cost me 35 bucks.

    (3)
  • lindsay k.

This location seriously shorts you on the fries. I thought the thing with Five Guys was the copious amount of fries they give you per serving. An employee at another location once told me that they add an extra scoop in the bag.. this place apparently an extra scoop is 3 fries. lame for the price, almost $6 for a large that was supposed to be split between two people.

    (2)
  • Scott G.

Well, this time my food was much better than the first Five Guys that I tried... I can now see the attraction for most of the country that doesn't have In N Out. For me, though, the California tradition still reigns supreme... I would certainly go again, though...

    (3)
  • Joey D.

Five Guys is one of those places you keep hearing about so you figure I've got to go try it out for myself...and I did. The burger was juicy and well cooked but to be completely honest it was pretty bland in terms of flavor. The condiments, which are plentiful and come at no extra charge, made the burger. The fries were the highlight. They were hot, fresh, tasty, and plentiful. The price was too high in my opinion. I don't like going to a chain restaurant and paying $20 for a couple of burgers and fries. The customer service was great. They were very friendly and helpful. The dining room was very clean as well. I'd say try it for yourself. You might like it. Just don't go expecting the heavens to open, lol

  • Daniel R.

I love the burgers and cajun fries. This place can go head to head with In-N-Out any day.

    (5)
  • Karen V.

Amaze-balls! I like five guys way better than in n out. you can pick what you want on your burger, single patty, double patty, etc. The fries are amazing, you can get them seasoned or cajun. The servings on the fries are enough to share with a few people!! They give you so many, so many bag fries it's awesome!! Peanuts while you wait. People who work there are always nice. Good quality burgers. That's all. Great!

  • Al C.

I didn't know this one was here until I passed it the other day so I figure I would stop by. I know I only ate at one of their locations before this and I figure I would give it a second chance to see if there was something to really rant and rave about like everyone has been since day one. No, I will definitely be keeping In & Out as my number one choice for burgers. Though their cheesey foil was delicious, I could not help but think of all the foil being thrown away that could be recycled. Anyway, it was a tastey burger, but I think I could have made one better. Ther eis no distinct taste that I could remember after I ate it like some other burger spots. You know how it is, before you eat at a place, you know what you will be getting and afterwards there is a sort of essence of what it was. I got zero essence. Anyway, bette rluck next time.

  • Gillian S.

Can you believe I come here to eat a healthy lunch? Here's what I do: -order a burger with all vegetables and no meat patty = still delicious! -if you really want the meat, get a 'little' burger, it's not really little at all but it's 440 calories instead of 700 Best thing on the menu in my opinion is the Cajun fries at 310 calories a serving.

After seeing this place open. My wife and I decided to give them a try... Since we live in the burger Capitol of the world our standards are high. I was very disappointed in the burgers. They are mess, they taste like burgers I would make at home. The fries STUNK. And it's way overpriced. I paid $17.36 for two mediocre Burgers.. I could of gone to TAMS and paid the same for a FAMILY pack of delicious charbroiled burgers with better tasting condiments.. They weren't all that bad because we ate them due to hunger, but they sure as hell weren't very good either. I will never go there ever again. I like a well crafted burger, not a mess that falls apart. As far as flavor goes they can't. Compete with the likes of in n out , tams, Louis golden ox ,just to name a few.

  • Nick S.

Cons: Too far from my house, can be pricey so I go sparingly. Pros: Holy s*** we can ORDER ONLINE! Forget freakin' overrated In-N-Out.

    (5)
  • Kat H.

My husband and I go here often. Service has always been great and the food has yet to let us down. I enjoy this place as it is one of the last few burger places that are considered fast food but doesn't have that mass-produced taste like the bigger name chains do. The proportions are pretty LARGE for me since I've downgraded from their regular burgers to a little burger. I recently discovered their grilled cheese and I really love it! Their fries are delicious, too! You can order ahead online and customize your burger that way which is both a time saver and a wondrous feature to have! When eating in, the place is very clean and sometimes packed with people or sometimes not; depends on the time you go. I'm very happy a place like this opened up locally and I wish them nothing but success in the future.

  • Mike F.

I like the food but its not consistent. They say all burgers are cooked "well done", the last time we ate there it was very rare and so were the fries. There was no one behind us.... there was no need to rush. Consistency is what counts.

    (3)
  • Brenda S.

Just another fast food burger and fries. Juicy is really just greasy. Once again, homemade burger on barbeque is the only really good burger!

  • Efrain M.

Best burger in town in my opinion! Minus one star for the unpredictable mood of some of the staff. I've experienced really great chick fil a type friendly service and awful attitude while taking my order. Good burger service is a hit and miss.

Is this place better than in-n-out? Jeez, make your own decision on that. Nuff said. Is it Loud? Sure is. Don't be surprised when you hear something like, "FIVE IN THE DOOR!" or "NUMBER 63!" At least they don't use those annoying P.A. systems that no one can understand what they're saying. Are the Burgers good? Damn skippy. Want toppings? Just let 'em know which ones. Do I get a lot of fries? Get the small, trust me. Just what was missing in "Restaurant Row" here in Lakewood. Thanks 5 guys! All in all, 4 stars.....aw, what the heck, 5 stars!

CAJUN FRIES ARE THE BOMBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB! Hamburgers are pretty decent. The wait is a little long, and the inside is very chilly (cold). Please add booths for warmth and comfort. But once again..... the damn cajun fries!!!! (#1 Reason to go!)

    (4)

For the price I thought this better be a darn good burger and fries. The Cajun fries and Hamburger were really good and dare I say it..... better than In N Out. You can also get free peanute if you dine in. The only issue is the price- thats a whole lot of cash to spend on a burger and fries in this economy. I can go to Tams and while it's def not as good- its close enough and I'm not spending $8 on one jr burger and fries. I will go back but unless they come up with coupons or a meal deal I won't be a regular.

Awesome burgers, exactly the way you want them. Hot and juicy...OMG! I love a good burger! The burgers don't go down on the grill until you order them so you know you will wait a few extra minutes for quality. Fries are cut fresh and fried...Yum! A small order is almost too much for two people to eat! Friendly service at the counter. Super happy with the positive energy in the place. The place was busy but it didn't take long for our food to be ready. They have a lot of seating and the place is nice and clean! This is the place I send people who want a perfect burger.

The first time ever going to a Five Guy's I was not impressed. The amount of grease dripping everywhere took away from the whole thing. I'm not really into food that swims in grease, but that was years ago and so I figured I would try it again at this new location instead of Cerritos. What a disappointment. My burger was so drenched that the bread was soggy and falling apart. The flavor of the burgers and fries were mediocre but I will not be going there again.

Girl's bathroom smelled funky, needed to be touched up. Other than that, awesome place!

I am such a Five Guys fan. I love their cajun fries and their burgers are to die for. But this location always seems to take FOREVER preparing the food. No matter what time it is or how many people are there it is always the same long wait. I think the workers could also have better customer service skills. I came last sunday and the girls at the front register felt the need to finish their gossipy conversation before acknowledging that I was there and taking my order.

Well made burgers just like you would make at home but don't have all the ingredients or dont have the time to make. Service is friendly and the pricing is fine for a burger where you can stack on as many ingredients as you like for no additional charge. Fries, I don't eat these much. Free peanuts are a cool little feature to tie you over while you wait a few short minutes for your order.

Not In-n-Out for sure. Don't get all of the fuss, the burgers are plain. Too Plain, taste like something you make at home. Yes the toppings are kind of cool, specially the bacon for those like my son who loves bacon. I tried the grilled onions, grilled shrooms- again plain, no flavor. Grilled veggies should have some flavor, these were tasteless jelly beans. The Cajun fries are good; healthy portions, something I would return for and the free peanuts are a plus. You also have the option of veggie sandwich, grilled cheese, or a hotdog. Odd-part, my wife got major heart burn and she never gets that. Like others, I didn't mind the loud music, but it was loud.

I like Five Guys a lot. Don't fall for the In-N-Out partisans, the french fries alone give this place a big advantage. This one is my preferred location.

Five guys burgers is very overrated! it is a generic burger stand, and is not "a best bang for your buck' at all as advertised on the wall. two burgers a regular fries and two sodas for $19.00 that's not a good deal at all. if it was a delicious meal as advertised then it would be worth. the burger was not well made at all, I asked for grilled onions and they chopped an onion up heated it and threw it under the bun. the only thing that had a hint of good flavor was the fries, they were actually good. all in all I will not be coming back to five guys burgers again, they are over priced street burgers.

I'd been wanting to try Five Guys for a while now, mainly because I've heard that it was considered "better" than In 'N Out, which is practically sacrilege in my book. We finally made it in yesterday, and I'll admit that I have mixed feelings about it. Food was good, but not worth the hype. First impressions mean a lot, and Five Guys didn't impress me when I walked in the door. The music was way too loud, and I'm not someone who says that often. They had on some classic rock Sirius station, which is good and appropriate, but the volume was so high that it was distracting. Not a good sign. Then we looked around at all the signs on the walls, and noticed that nearly all of them were just quotes taken from newspapers in places that were everywhere but here. Sorry, still not impressing me. The menu was awesome though, simple and straightforward but with a ton of options for you to make your burger yours. Reminded me of Jake's in Pasadena, except you sit at the counter and fill out a little piece of paper that the cooks use to make your food. Becka ordered the bacon burger and I got the bacon cheeseburger (both regular size, since we didn't exactly understand what they meant by a "small" burger"), two drinks, and two small orders of fries, one regular and one cajun. The total came to about $25, which isn't unreasonable, just more than we would've liked to pay. Service was prompt, faster than I expected, and the food was good, if unspectacular. To our surprise, the "regular" size burgers came with two patties, plus all of the extras. That's not a bad thing, just very surprising. If we had known about that in advance, Becka probably would have gotten the smaller size! Overall, we liked it, but comparing it to In 'N Out just doesn't work because they're just too dissimilar. A better comparison would be to The Habit, the tiny franchise out of the Santa Barbara area, except that I'd rather go to The Habit. We'd probably go back sometime, but we won't go out of our way for it. To sum it all up, Five Guys is In 'N Out for people who just can't get In 'N Out.

I just found a long ass hair intertwining through all of my cup of fries. That's fucking gross! 1 star, never coming back, advise the world to do the same. Disgusting.

Usually five guys is THEE spot. I've always had wonderful experiences of blissful, sinful grease heaven. I love the bacon cheeseburger "all the way" of course . But unfortunately my first visit to this location left me utterly disappointed. It was only one thing but it was huge. The bacon on my bacon cheeseburger was burned. Not slightly overcooked but burned to a nice charcoal crisp. Black. As a cook, how do you see this piece of bacon and say yeah this works. Ridiculous. I was very excited to have this new location so close to home but it looks like I'll have to take my business elsewhere.

The first time I went to this place I thought it was better that In N out maybe it's because I was starving that day and just gobbled up and hamburger and fries. My second time I must say I was very dissappointed, the meat was tasteless even though I added the stuff that I liked grilled mushroom, tomatoes. The fries were okay, I like the fact that they give you a ton of fries a regular size can be split between two adults easily. There is a long wait at the moment everyone is flocking this place since it just recently opened. It's very pricey for a hamburger joint, between me and hubby two hamburgers, two sodas and 1 regular fries we paid close to $18.

I was running errands in the area, found myself hungry, and I decided to hop on in after seeing there were long waits at both Red Lobster and Marie Callendars. I am so glad that I finally tried this place, as I had been curious. The food was good, but not spectacular, and it's kind of pricy. For close to $8, I got a small burger and an order of fries, no drink. Luckily, the burger wasn't too small; but the small order of fries is like a large at other burger joints. Except for In-N-Out, the food here is far better than other fast food places. However, as another reviewer put it, the best burger is the one you make on your own bbq. So true. It's made to order, it's fresh, the burgers are neither over- nor undercooked, and the fries are long, stringy, and crisp, without being hard. Having been cooked in peanut oil, the fries have a slightly different taste than they do at other places. The burger, even though I loaded it with toppings, wasn't all that flavorful. It wasn't bad, but it's not something I'll find myself craving in the near future. Anyway, as I said before, I'm glad I finally had a chance to stop in and try this place, and I was not disappointed in the food. However, due to the price (you can get the same thing at In-N-Out for two or three bucks less), I likely won't be coming in often.

This place just opened. The food is great. The only downside is the annoying, obnoxious, immature staff that's making the food. Thankfully, everything is made in the open where they can be watched, otherwise I would've asked for a refund and left. And (bonus), there are tables outside where I enjoyed my burger away from the nonsense. So, if you don't mind the unnecessary noise of the staff, you'll enjoy your visit more than I did. By the way, I won't be returning. I'd rather spend less at their "competitor" with a more professional, costumer service conscience staff. Thanks for reading... sorry to offend :-)

Kim, one of the staff- remembered me from another service job! The staff are quite friendly and prepared to cater to my wants for my sandwiches! I liked that! This was my first visit and am sure I will return with more friends along with me! Clean, tidy and the atmosphere was family-oriented!

This is the newest Five Guys Burgers and Fries. We were the first customers to order when this location opened up. We were customers 1,2 and 3 (thanks to my man on the inside). Service was great at the counter. We were greeted by all the staff as we walked in door which was very nice and welcoming. The food was very good. Only problem I had was the warm (not hot), hot dog I received with my order. This kind of let me down considering it was there first order in the place and their first impression to the public. That is my reason for 4 out of 5. I wish I could give it a 4.5 - 4 3/4. All in all this is a good place to eat. It's right along the row of restaurants across from Lakewood mall. Considering all the options you have, this better for someone grabbing a bite to eat who does not want to do a sit down place. The portions of fries are generous so share with a friend. The fries a seasoned up and signage on the window next to the counter displays where the spuds originate from. I thought that was cool. I think that's all I have to say about that.

This was the first time I have ever been to a Five Guys location. I was told if I hadn't gone before, to order a Jr. or Little hamburger because two might be too much. Which is what I did. The burger was quite tasty and I like that you have several toppings you can choose from. The fries are really good and they give you more than enough to eat.
