Had lunch here for the first time. Parking: Parking is always a challenge at Diamond Jamboree. Your best bet is to park in the parking garage and walk downstairs. Service: We were seated immediately during a busy lunch crowd. Our waiter was very friendly, attentive and informative. Atmosphere: Trendy Food: Now the good part. We started with some garlic edadame - edadame sauteed in perhaps a garlic, hoisin sauce and served warm. Not bad. Next, our miso soup and salad arrived. Miso was good, fresh tofu and not too bland or salty. Salad is pretty standard. Chicken karage and assorted tempura bento box - very good. Chicken and tempura was nicely fried. Sauce for the karage was delish. The assorted rolls, sushi and sashimi was also very fresh. Overall, a great place to get together with friends, nice service and wonderful sushi. They also have a daily happy hour deal where they have 1/2 off on selected plates.

Originally we were planning on dining at Kula for their revolving sushi bar, but there were a few parties ahead of us, so we decided to check Tokyo Table out. With my trusty iPhone, I yelped this place and we decided to head over, and fortunately this place is quite big inside AND there was no wait! Just because there's a huge wait for a place doesn't always guarantee that the restaurant will be amazing *cough* boiling crab *cough*. My friend, boyfriend, and I ordered the Seafood Mix Sushi Pizza to share, the sukiyaki Bibimbap for my boyfriend, the chicken Katsu Don plate for my friend, the ten don for me, and a pitcher of Sapporo beer. The total bill came out to be $58.51, The prices here aren't too bad considering we ordered an appetizer and a pitcher of beer. I know some might waiver because of the prices, but this place is still either the same in pricing or CHEAPER than some Japanese eateries in San Diego. Our dishes were good, although the tempura sauce on my ten don (tempura over rice) was a bit overpowering, but my boyfriend really liked it. The tempura pieces were quite large, filling, an crispy without being too dry or too soggy. Overall I enjoyed eating here. The decor made this place feel like more of a hip dining establishment, catering to a younger, more "hip" crowd. The seating is very comfortable - you sit a bit lower in a booth, and there's pillows for your back. It's somewhat dim inside, but nowhere near as dim as Donovan's Steak and Chop House - your eyes will adjust fairly quickly if you come here during the afternoon. They were playing some old school hip hop, but the music wasn't overpowering, and I'm glad there weren't any televisions around. If you're looking for authentic Japanese food here, don't bother coming here because there aren't any Japanese waitresses/waiters - at least not where I went here - and the food won't compare to authentic Japanese restaurants. However, the service is wonderful, bathrooms are clean, and they're very accommodating with larger parties.

Great place to host an Anime Convention after party!! Tokyo Table is another one of those trendy "fusion" sushi places. The décor was nice; very trendy and not overdone. They have a cool bar that makes saketinis and a nice selection of Sake. Happy Hour is from 3pm - 6pm then starts up again at 10pm to close. I was a bit iffy on the food. I will give them credit for having a large selection of food (ie, ramien, homemade tofu, sushi, sashimi, teriyaki grilled meats, yakitori, etc) but I have to take away that credit for serving stuff like sushi pizza (baked seafood over a bed of rice) or mochi gratin (cheese baked over rice cakes). The service was good, fish was pretty fresh, and the prices were moderate. It's definitely a good place to socialize, but when I'm craving Japanese, I want the real deal, not mayonnaise sushi. A little about my credentials: I first got into cooking & food when I was in college. After being rejected by numerous girls and getting zero action, I decided it was time for a change. I needed a new makeover to boost my geeky, engineering image. I applied for a cooking position at a Mediterranean-Italian Restaurant near my home and learned to cook all sorts of pastas and dishes. I never became a professional chef, but I continue to enjoy & love food. 8 years later and 55 lbs heavier, I am now an engineer that travels all over the world trying new foods and learning about different cultures.

Got to happy hour half an hour before closing and hostess said "happy hour is over" in a rude, condensing tone. Never going back there again.

This was my first and will be my lasting visit to Tokyo Table. We had a part of six at around 9 pm so we were seated very quickly. The food was average but still a bit pricey. Our waitress and service was absolutely horrible. Her name was Chrissy, and I am not sure if she just lacked social skill or just was a new waitress. She acted very burdened and bothered when we needed some service, whether it be asking for a fork or Tempura dipping sauce to go with our tempura. It was so bad we decided not to ask for soy sauce to go with our sushi that my friend just got up to find an empty table to retrieve it herself. The waitress was very impatient and was very rude. We were handed the check and took some time sorting out the payments. She proceeded to ask 3 times within a ten minute span if were ready and hovered and waited at our table. We were still counting our cash; a normal competent waitress would be able to see that the table was not ready for payment. We submitted our check to her when we were finally ready with our payment. We got our check back to sign for our credit payments. Not only did she not provide us with pens to sign with, she had the nerve to come again and ask if we were ready. She proceeded to hover again at our table, making us feel awkward and uncomfortable. We told her we were not ready. She came back a minute later hovering again and said "I need the receipts" ... as we are all in the process of signing the receipts with the one pen my friend had in her purse. Obviously, anyone who has been to a restaurant knows you need receipts and would try to sign as quickly as possible. She proceeded to hover and wait awkwardly at our table, making us feel incredibly rushed that one of us even forgot to take our credit card. The waitress acted just like an impatient three year old child asking her parents, "Are we there yet?" every three minutes. We correlated that 18% gratuity include and the lack and decline of service. I would recommend coming here in parties of less than six so that you can tip based on your own standards. This waitress made our experience here very hostile and uncomfortable. Having been around 10pm at night, there was no need to rush our table to leave. There was no line and there were many empty and open tables for customers. We expressed our opinions and experience about the impatient and demanding waitress, but all he did was thank us. Therefore, I do NOT recommend this restaurant solely based on incompetent servers. I would hate to come where when it is dinner rush or a busier time. I could only imagine how much worse the service would be.

My favorite place to have some Garlic Edamame and Asahi on tap. Yes on tap. They also have Sapporo on tap. I also like their tempura soft shell crab. They have happy hour Mon-Sat. They also offer Mango or Pomegranate infused sake. Deeeelish! I sit at the bar which has some cozy stools at the bar or some nice comfy couches for you and your friends to visit. They can accommodate large parties in the dining room. Plenty of parking in the parking garage. Oh! and the bartenders are really sweet gals.

Food is yummy and decently priced, drinks are yummy - I recommend the lychee mojito! Service was okay, nothing too special, but the wait time is RIIIIIDICULOUSSSSS!! Ridiculous!!!!! 4 stars though because I've made a few good memories here. =) I've been here twice for my cousins' birthdays. The first time, we came in a party of 8 and didn't have too much trouble with the service. The second time, we sat in the lounge to celebrate my baby cousin's 21st! I recommend the sushi pizza - not because it's yummy, but because it's interesting and something that you should try once. I'm not a huge fan of it, but I like to order it just because it's something fun that everyone can eat.

Like many others, I have taken the opportunities for their grand opening promotion. Since I didn't know about this promotion until the very last second (Friday morning). I was not able to go at an earlier time. The wait for Friday night was an average of 1.5-2 hours for the party of 2. The people next to me (party of 6) waited a bit over 3 hours!! Wow! That's crazy! I saw some people who can't really wait that long so they had to eat while standing nearby the bar area. I am really curious how BUSY this place will be after the promotion is over (and after all the crowds who want to redeem their gift certificates). I will follow up once I go back there again. The decor , the menu and the ambiance give you an OBVIOUS idea that this place IS A FUSION RESTAURANT. So, don't complain if your food does not taste authentic or your sushi does not come up the way it used to be. Sometimes I think the hybrids are good, yet sometimes aren't. Service was extremely attentive and friendly, maybe because they just opened for only few days. The Good: The service. Most of their fried stuffs are good. They have very tasty chicken karrage (with tartar sauce). Its very juicy and tender. Their tuna tataki salad's dressing are very tasty. Their tofus are good (I tried the fried ones but I saw others ordering the homemade tofu, can't comment on that). Spicy Tuna on Crispy rice are good but certainly not as good as ones that I had at Katsuya in Brentwood (of course, they are not as pricey as Katsuya). One other thing, the food came up really fast, that is a really good thing for a restaurant that just opened. The Bad: Sashimi! on my god, its one of the most fishy-est hamachi I had in years. They have already used vinegar, cappacio, and yuzu salts to cover up the taste but still, its WAY too fishy. YUCKS! I have mentioned this to our server but she just blame to the fact that we are not used to the fusion taste. Obviously lie! Even being a "fusion" restaurant, FISHY, is not an acceptable term. Also I have to mention that the sashimi that they used in the tuna tataki salad is very average quality meat (seems like a vaccum frozen pack style maguro, thats how dry the fish is, even with the salad dressing). So, don't order the raw items from this place!! Also, if u are not the fan of sweet stuff, don't order their items such as Lobster dynamite (way too sweet), Unagi rice - even its serve infront of you in a hot stone pot, but she did not stir evenly so I had to stir by myself later on for a better flavor (will supply picture later). Still TOO sweet. One thing that they did not consider while creating the menu is that too much sugar in an overheated pot will creates a "bitter" taste. So I definitely will NOT recommend people order Unagi bowl. Maybe their bibimbop will be better? Same thing with the Yakisoba, too SWEET. However, the portions are good, I think its larger than average restaurant. Also, a bowl of Ramen for $10 is unusually high for a non-speciality ramen restaurant. I think the average menu price for this place is OK as long as you don't order stuffs like Ramen, Steak, or major entrees. They are not that expensive for the Irvine neighborhood. If you want a fun yet cozy atmosphere around Irvine area, this is certainly a place to be. If you want some authentic Japanese food, this is certainly not the place to be. Also, if you like sweet stuff, this is the place to be (well..I hope you'll not have diabetes problem from eating here too often).

I used to go here with my family pretty often, and we'd just get a bunch of things and share. We typically have a set menu now, but occasionally, we change it up. We usually get one roll/one appetizer or two rolls, unagi rice, Shoyu ramen, and sushi pizza. Rolls: Tokyo Table has a bunch of different type of rolls; although you still can get the more traditional Japanese sushi here, I've never tried them from here. I think I've tried most of the rolls by now, but only really remember a couple. - OMG Roll: this roll is composed of crab mix & cream cheese roll topped with seared salmon sashimi, spicy mayo, tempura crunch, unagi sauce, green onions and pepper flakes. If you're into stuff like scallop dynamite, this roll is really good. I think the combination of the crab mix and cream cheese creates a strong and distinct flavor for customers to remember. The seared salmon sashimi on top with the tempura crunch creates a tender yet crunchy texture to it, which is really nice. Some other rolls that are good are Stinky Roll, Tiger Roll, and Dynamite Roll. I think the OMG Roll is the best here though. Unagi Rice: this comes in a big stone pot with a side of wasabi/seaweed strips and some sort of oil (I forgot what it was, but it doesn't make of a different flavor-wise; you can try it to see if you like it though. It's supposedly a bit salty.) The waiter/waitress will ask you if he/she can mix it, and then they do. They will add in the sides if you wish. If you like eel, this is a great dish. They mix in the eel so that there are big chunks of it throughout the rice. I also really like wasabi/seeweed pieces, and I think they make this dish almost similar to unagi sushi. However, since this dish is in a stone pot, some of the rice gets crispy. I personally like it, but if you don't, just make sure to scoop up your rice quickly! Shoyu Ramen: there isn't anything particularly special about this ramen. It's not bad though. The soup base is a bit ordinary, but it's still good. Sushi Pizza: this is probably one of their most famous dishes (and I can see why!) It's baked sushi rice with salmon, scallops, crab mix and diced onions, cut into bite-sized pieces and topped with sliced jalapenos. Oh my god, doesn't that sound delicious? And it is! All of that seafood that tops a crispy bed of rice on top of a crunchy layer of seeweed. The jalapeno really brings out the flavor of the seafood as well. If you're to get only one thing from Tokyo Table, I suggest this one!

Tried this place for the first time the other night with a group of friends and it turned out to be not too bad. Their menu is huge with everything from sushi to sashimi to udon dishes, curry, rice based dishes, several appetizers (get the sushi pizza), and a lot more. Everyone in my party liked their meal. They ordered sushi and sashimi and said it was fresh and tasty. I ordered the curry udon which was just ok....not much curry flavor, but not bad. Cool design and environment inside also. Very good service with really friendly hostesses and waitresses. Give this place a try for sure. I'd like to check it out again and order a different dish.

A group of us were on our way to Capitol Chinese food but found it was closed ... so begins our epic adventure. We decided to walk around and ended up at tokyo table. Empty... but even better. We had a group of 8 so decided we can get our drink on and order some food and have a good time. The drinks were fairly priced... especially the nice big pitcher of beer. Sake was same anywhere else quality and price. The food. Whether is it close to closing hours or they just don't give a S^*T... it took a long time for our food and most of the food tasted pretty damn mediocre. First off we ordered garlic fries and sweet potato fries and we got one out of two. Not charged for the other so it wasn't a big deal. Got couple rolls and that was just okay... but this is where is gets bad.... real bad. I told the server... hey I want the Wagyu beef burger but make sure that thing is blooody. I HATE overcooked hamburgers. I want to stab the burger with the fork and the cow to give me a dirty look kinda rare. So after grilling him a bit about my preferences, you would assume there to be a some kind of happy ending.... My friend orders a medium rare thinking im crazy to order something so rare.... but in my experience I learned ask for an exagerated rare and you will get the perfect rare burger. Ask for a rare you will get a medium rare and give up on medium rare.... you will probably get a medium or overcooked. So we get our burgers.... drum roll please. dumdumdudmd.... I geta medium burger. Not even remotely pink. I thought it was a a joke.... haha. jokes on me. My friend looks at my burger terrified about what he is going to get. Open faced burger with the bun burnt. I don't get it.... they tried hiding the burnt burger by serving it open faced but the top is clearly visible once we close the burger and his burger was gray. over cooked. I don't like to make a big deal so I kindly told the server and he was kind enough to redo the burgers... but hey he was nice so I didn't want to be an a$$ so I just ate some of my burger and went along my way. But thanks to that burger I won't be ever eating at this place again. Sorry server guy....

Have been here several times over the past few years. Happy hour is the best time to go, but you have to sit in the lounge to get the happy hour prices. We just went on Wednesday at 5:30 and they were empty. Service is usually pretty good, but not worthy of a 5 star. Also they can accommodate larger parties in the main dining area...that's a plus. Happy Hour Specials: Bacon Wrapped Asparagus - can never go wrong with this Beef Wrapped Green Onions - juicy and flavorful Spicy Tuna Summer Roll - refreshing and spicy Garlic Fries - very garlicky and got soggy fast Regular Menu: Mochi Cheese Gratin - amazing amazing amazing...must try Spicy Tuna on Crispy Rice - love the crispiness of the rice and then the kick of the jalapeno and spicy tuna Beef Tataki on Balsamic Sushi Rice - flavorful and melts in your mouth Dynamite Roll with Scallop - so many flavors and perfect when piping hot Drinks: Momoko Peachy Girl Saketini - delicious & on happy hour menu Kikuka Tropical Lychee Saketini - delicious & on happy hour menu Sangria - one of the better Sangria's I've had at a restaurant (get it by the pitcher) Favorites: Beef Wrapped Green Onions, Mochi Cheese Gratin, Beef Tataki on Balsamic Sushi Rice and all drinks above

BE AWARE! Many of the items look much much better than they taste. For example, one time I ordered some appetizer that came with crispy rice and bacon wrapped asparagus...it looked so delicious on the picture, but the taste was mediocre. Ever since I've been scared to try their dishes. However, I had their tempura bowl once and a sukiyaki bibimbap(spelling?) and those were good. Nothing amazing, makes me want to go back for more feeling though. ALSO, i think there are much better Japanese food places to try. If I were hungry or whatever I wouldn't consider this place. You have to worry whether the food is going to taste good or not and you could probably find much tastier japanese food elsewhere for cheaper prices. I love the staff though they are so friendly, upbeat, energetic, and willing and waiting to answer any of your questions. I also like the interior, you feel so relaxed and VIP status depending on where you sit. P.S. I don't know if they serve a tempura 'bowl' on their menu, but you can ask for it and they'll make it for you. If you're stuck on what to choose try that, it's not like sock your mom in the face good but it's pretty yummy and very fulfilling.

There aren't many places that have sake on happy hour late at night, there are even less that offer cold sake on happy hour late at night, and then there are even less that actually go down fairly smooth! Tokyo Table falls under that last minority. Really nice workers that can sometimes be hard to find because it's usually so busy on weekend nights. The food isn't amazing, but it goes down easy after you down some alcohol.

I like the sushi pizza. Parking is difficult as the mall this place is in is hyper popular. The sushi is fresh and the selections varied. Decent happy hour. Good service. No sushi bar, table service only.

We went there on our family vacation. Kids wanted Ramen, hubby wanted chicken and I wanted sushi. This place has them all. The selection is pretty amazing and prices are reasonable. Really love their kids menu with all the fun choices. The rolls we got taste really good. My husband's chicken with egg dish looked delicious and he liked it. The only complain I have is the poached egg in the Ramen was not done right. The egg york was all powdery not running. The waitress was super friendly and very helpful. It's a great place for family or big group gathering.

Husband and I went here last week. the decor and atmosphere was nice, our server was also very helpful, she gave suggestions, and checked up on us regularly. We had a rainbow roll, spicy tuna on crispy rice, sukiyaki beef bibimbap rice and a lychee saketini. I would not order sushi here, the rice was drive, the cuts were not good at all. The spicy tuna on crispy rice was interesting. The fried rice had a nice taste, although a little too much salt. the texture was fun though. The sukiyaki rice was okay. I may make a return trip to try some of their other hot food menu items. For sushi lovers, don't waste your time on their sushi!

we dined here with our best friends and we had a great time. the decor was very impressive - modern yet traditional. the service was great and friendly. the drinks were awesome! the food was also good. i wish their bar area was larger and provided a place for lounging and a quick drink and appetizers.

Okay, so I never even thought twice about coming to this place because my friends told me it was super expensive. Butttttt I had to try it. I came here twice, the first time, I had a spicy tuna roll, something like that, and it was delicious. But what was the highlight of the evening was their STRAWBERRY NAPOLEON DESSERT. It was truly amazing, but pretty pricey because my friends ended up paying like $30 EACH. But oh well, the experience was great. The second time, I ordered a spicy crunchy roll, I think? and a philly roll. Philly roll wasn't that great, so I don't recommend it, but the crunchy roll was delicious. I really like the place, but I'm not really a fan of the dark atmosphere and especially the price, although the sushi is great, I'm pretty sure you can find better elsewhere.

I think this restaurant is 3.5 star at best. Mostly for the service and the ambiance. The food is nothing special - just ok. We had everything from Salmon to Tempura, to Beef Steak, Chicken Teriyaki and Chicken Karaage... Everything is just ok. Will only come here for lunch with friends in the Irvine area. I'd rather go to Westwood for better Japanese food.

Really, guys? I love this place! Well, I've only been once so it could be hit or miss.. but as per my visit here last month, I would definately return! The sushi was really fresh and in good portions.. Not too much rice over sushi and vice versa but it was reall very tasty! We had the rainbow roll and the unagi rice.. Mmm.. By far the best place to get unagi btw! The ambience here is really romantic.. So it seems like a good spot to go on if you went on a date or something.. Probably wouldn't take the whole crew here though.. That's what Hooters is meant for.. But if you need a quick sushi fix, this is a good place to go..

Definitely a fusion cuisine. When you have a mixture of culinary traditions blend together, sometimes it can be disastrous and sometimes it can be wondrous. In Tokyo Table case, it has been a wondrous. The place is nice and clean. The staffs are nice and professional. The food are good. Definitely a great get-together place with friends. Some of my favorite dishes are: rice w/eel, sushi pizza, lobster dynamite, tofu salad. Would definitely come back!

I came here a couple of days after it opened and managed to get 2 seats right away at the bar. The two of us got the unagi bowl, the spider roll, and some pan fried udon dish. The food presentation is pretty nice, but the food's pretty average. When I first walked in, the place's atmosphere reminded me of Koi in Vegas. It's pretty trendy, dim lighting, and the menu has a bunch of fusion dishes. So I gave three stars, because the food isn't bad (though it isn't great either), the service was really good, and I liked the atmosphere. This is probably a place you go to impress a date, but if you're looking for some good, satisfying food, I say you go somewhere else.

My favorite japanese restaurant that i don't go to for rolls/sushi. they have plenty of other interesting choices for me to choose from and they do not disappoint. however, the sushi pizza is kinda weird haha. Staff is friendly here, and food is great. Haven't had any complaints about the food quality yet. One of your pricier japanese restaurants, but a very interesting experience.

I love this Japanese restaurant its Cosy, good for groups or if you're on a date. They bring food out quickly and their prices are reasonable. We ordered several rolls which I loved their red velvet roll as well as their dynamite roll with lobster. Dessert: honey toast with ice cream with options of cinnamon, caramel, honey, or chocolate (Hershey s syrup ). It's huge good to share our you can ask for half the serving.

Happy hour is probably the only time I would come here. The ambiance is cool. Makes for a good night with friends. What appealed to me was the sushi pizza. Something to try once but not as good as I thought it would be. The baked lobster roll was bomb though! All the other food is pretty whatever. I'd come here more to drink rather than eat.

I love the food and service. We lived in Japan for years and love going to Tokyo Table in Irvine. We always feel welcome and prices are great too. They have many dishes we enjoyed in Japan and Drinks too....YUMMY!! Very nice for a date night too:) The OMG Roll and Cohiba Roll are BOMB!!!

AMAZING FOOD! I had the bacon wrapped asparagus and it was phenomenal!!! Seriously. I also had the spider roll, truly amazing as well! Our group also ordered the Bimpipap, and it was alright, too spicy for me, but I'm picky when it comes to spicy. Our server was Brian, He was a really sweet man! I recommend you ask for him when you come in ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) Service was great! My food was great, I was a very happy customer. I also sneaked a peek at some of their desserts, wow! Looks amazing all of this at a very reasonable price!

Uh not my flavor fave. Sushi is not good, all the specialties, although they sound cool, but they are not good. Vibe is bad, try to be fancy, but they are not. Our server was rushing us every minute to get out of there, we felt rushed and uncomfortable. Parking of course is horrible in that plaza. Not suggested sorry.

For some reason our check came out to be a lot less than what we expected? Guess we're coming back here again then. The first thing I noticed when we got seated was that the staff here was super outgoing and never seemed an ounce tired. We started off with some spring rolls, and then some tempura filled sushi. I ordered the eel bowl because I was strangely craving it, and it was Amazing. It came out in a stone bowl, like the one bibimbap's come in, and the scraps of seaweed to add on it really finished the touch of the meal. For fish lovers, I don't remember what the menu name of this dish was called, but it's a plate of sashimi fish with garlic on it and you sear it on your own--this was surprisingly good. Lastly, we had the honey drizzled toast. Oh my goodness, I didn't know the toast square was filled with little toast cubes inside along with rich vanilla ice cream. TRY THE TOAST!! Try your best to somehow manage some extra room for this dessert :) If you're a regular at Diamond Jamboree Plaza and have spent enough time around 85 Deg, Guppies, Ajisen, and BCD, I really don't see why you shouldn't try Tokyo Table either. Come with friends! It's a nice place to enjoy with a lot of people. **If possible, try to do the electronic reservations online. Helps out a lot!

Tokyo Table has a fun atmosphere. Cuisine is asian-fushion, so if you're looking for proper Japanese sushi you should go elsewhere, but the dishes are all decent and fish quality is good. I'd recommend it mostly for it's off the wall sizzling rice dishes, etc, than sushi. Fun place to go with a large group!

We were in need of a sushi fix, and it was 10:00pm on a Friday Night. Not being to familiar with the area, we Yelp'd Tokyo Table. The reviews varied, but we decided what the heck, lets try it out. We ordered the Shrimp Yaki Soba, which was decent (had better), and we order as shrimp roll. Was pretty decent. Probably wouldnt come back, but if I was in a jam for some sushi, I may, and try something different off the menu. Staff was friendly and we were seated quickly which was a plus.

Not a bad place to eat, as long as you park in the structure and don't even touch the open clusterf*ck of a lot that is Diamond Jamboree! I came here for lunch, and was in the mood for stir-fry noodles. I can't quite remember what they were, but I'm inclined to say that I got the beef yakisoba (PS, their menu is tough to download from their site). It was good, except for a disappointing amount of beef in the dish. Generous portions, and well-presented. I threw in a side of California rolls, as I am wont to do in Japanese restaurants, and found these to be excellent. The ambiance of this place is really quite nice - warm with dark wood, but open, bright, and airy high ceilings. Service was wonderful, and bonus points for being an OpenTable restaurant.

I'd only come here during happy hour, which is from 3-6 and 10-11, on weekdays, i think? Not sure, but that's when I usually go on the weekdays. Their happy hour menu has a cut down on the drinks and $3 off sushis. The only thing is that its only 1 drink per person during the happy hour deal, so that kinda defeats the happy hour drinking. I had the sour apple chu hui, which was pretty bomb. I love the sour taste of the green apple with the subtle taste of the alcohol. I had the aiko saketini, which wasn't my cup of tea since there was no hint of strawberry puree in it. I did however, like the mango mojito, when stirred correctly. The only sushi I like and recommend to people who don't like sushi as well, is the shrimp crunch roll with ponzu sauce. It's your typical tempura shrimp roll, but this one has cucumbers, which is new for me, so I feel like I'm still getting my vegetable serving with the seafood portion. I love the decorations. It's a traditional feel with a modern Japanese twist with nature.

Now that we live in Irvine, this place will be our new local place to go to. Its a bike drive awayd, yeay! Loved the interior so classy and romantic. The service was fast and the food was very good. Loved the specialty rolls, husband ordered most so i forget the names, but all were good. I didn't give full 5 star rating because I felt the food could use less salt specially the fried rice spicy tuna roll. Miso soup was soo good and l LOVED the gyoza. would love to try other items on the menu next time.

The place has great sushi and sake for a little pre-game dinner or just a regular night. The service was prompt and very helpful. Only con was that the couches were a little ripped and I don't know if the A/C was broken or what because I was breaking a sweat while eating sushi. It's a very casual place in my opinion tho. Def not an upscale Japanese restaurant so not on the top of my list of places where I would take a date.

3.5 stars. Came to this center only for 85 Degrees, but realized we can't just go on a bread diet...However, it is surprising how persuasive humans can be without even knowing it. Was looking at the Papaya Thai menu outside and was just about to enter until a stranger also looking for a place to eat tells his friend "no, we're not eating here. It's terrible." Of course, after hearing that, I was hesitant, then I checked Yelp and sure enough Tokyo Table had the highest rating of the restaurants in this plaza. Good: - decor, ambiance - presentation - service; waitress came back several times to check how we were doing - fresh Hamachi - decent Bento prices (2 items - katsu chicken, teriyaki chicken, salmon, fried tempura, beef; miso soup; salad; edamame for $12.99) Bad: - slightly expensive compared to other sushi places - Hamachi roll (forgot the exact name) had too much vinegar or something. The rice looked TOO moist. - Grilled Salmon was hard but still edible. Overall, my dad and I were happy with our choice. Probably the only place we would dine at this plaza. Would come again, but may just stick to the sashimi or try their Happy Hour.

Tokyo Table has a great late night happy hour! My first time here, I came just in time for the late night happy hour, which is Mon.-Thurs. from 10-11 PM. They also have an everyday happy hour from 3-6:30 PM. A few select appetizers were a few dollars off, and all sushi was $3 off. Considering their sushi is pretty pricy (ranges from $10-15 for 8 pieces), the $3 off still puts it in the pricy range. In order to qualify for the happy hour prices, you have to order drinks, but they don't have to be alcohol. You can order a soda or green tea and that counts. For our late night snack, we tried the Garlic Fries and the Red Velvet Sushi Roll. The garlic fries were pretty much what you would expect, but they were a decent size and satisfied our craving. The red velvet sushi is made up of shrimp tempura, cucumber and avocado, wrapped in rice and soy paper, and topped with spicy tuna, red tempura crunch and spicy mayo. The sushi was delicious and I would definitely recommend this roll to anyone who might not be a big fan of sushi but likes the typical california roll & crunchy roll like I do. This roll was a little more adventurous than I'm used to, but the flavors worked really well together. The presentation of the sushi was also really beautiful. I really liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. It's a really laid-back, classy place that is a good late night hangout spot. Our waitress was really friendly and polite and had some great suggestions for us. I was really pleased with the service and my overall experience here. I'll definitely be coming back!

This place was awesome! The sushi was great, while it did take awhile to come out it was worth the wait it was beyond good! Our favorite was the red velvet! We'll definitely be back!

I give it a four star, NOT for the restaurant as a whole, but solely because I have had sushi pizza elsewhere, and the one at Tokyo Table is by far the best of the others that i have tried. I have had a few rolls as well and they are good... While I do not think its the one of the better sushi restaurants, I do think that their sushi pizza is unique and is well worth to try it out!!! I know its weird to give a restaurant ratings based on one thing, but I think that sometimes you want something unique that is good.. and if i recommend anything here its that pizza... If you ask me to rate it as whole, it would prob be a 2.5 or a 3.

Happy Hour! Great place that not many people think about when thinking about happy hour and drinks in Irvine. Have a craving for sushi? They have half off on all their rolls after 11:30pm until closing. Atmosphere is also good for first dates. The dark lighting and the cozy lounges around the bar is a great place to snuggle with your significant other :D

If I could give them 0 stars, I would give them 00000000. worst customer service. there was a group of 8 of us, and 8 is not a big number to not be able to serve properly. we waited 45 min, yes 45 min on a thursday night for our sake to arrive. and when we asked they said sorry we had some computer issues. what does computer issues have to do with bringing our sake? also our food didnt arrive all at once, so some of us were eating while others were watching. anyways, they're always short staffed, and we will never go back there due to poor customer service and satisfaction. horrible experience.

I personally think that this place has a decent typical japense cuisine. The menu prices are reasonable. Nothing special to the food taste. Service can be quite slow - refills, order, check, etc. The restaurant is clean and there's not too many people here. So you can get lucky and be seated almost immediately.

I've been eating here for over 5 years when I'm in Irvine for work and this is the last time, I will never come back again. I always order the pine nigiri plate and it's always been good. This time I place the order went to get some bread at 85 degree C and when I returned I waited another 20 minutes, the place isn't even busy! The hostess is so condescending but that's besides the point. The worst part is that when I got to my hotel, there's no wasabi or pickled ginger for my sushi, WTF!?

    (1)
  • Stephanie D.

Service is everything.... I ordered two rolls to go and waited over 25 mins for my food which came out all messy and very poorly put together. Seriously there was a group that came in, was seated and order that got their food before I did.... Their shrimp crunch roll isn't bad when you order dine in but the quality of the food real does lack when it comes to ordering togo. So I say if you are in a hurry just skip this place for the same price you really aren't getting the same thing.

I'd rather choke on my grandmas Tits than sit through another pathetic dish at this extremely low quality, ridiculously overpriced fake Japanese restaurant. Save yourself the money and the time. Your be better off accepting food from the homeless guy on the side of the street than eat here

I usually only come for happy hour. The food deals are pretty good especially when at late since it's one of the few places open at that time. I always try a different drink but so far my general overview is that none are strong enough. I've gotten a margarita, a lychee mojito, and a lemon drop here. I was told they were able to do a blended one, which is my general preference for margaritas. The margarita was only half blended with ice chunks still it in but it wasn't bad. A nice taste but not enough alcohol. It was also very small for the price. The same issue with the mojito, not strong enough but it was sweet and fruity. The lemon drop was just average as well. This place is still decent and the happy hour times make it one of my go to places during hh.

It was expensive and had small portions :/ I would rather go to Kula and eat a whole bunch of sushi. The sushi pizza is unique and pretty delicious though!

We love going here for Happy Hour. They have pretty good deals on rolls and drinks. They offer a diverse selection of sushi and entrees...... I especially like the Kyuri Roll and my husband really enjoys the Teriyaki Chicken! Pricey if you go any other time.....

My friend took me here because she said it was "soooo gooooood" but I'm a vegetarian so I thought it wasn't that crackin. Not really much vegetarian options except for like some type of "nachos" and portabello sushi roll. So I just asked for a ramen noodle dish, without the meat, and with miso soup broth(had to customize that shhhh). Anyways the soup was alright. I didn't enjoy my experience, and it's not because of the atmosphere or service. I just wasnt able to enjoy the food.

Okay, so it's not your standard sushi restaurant. The menu items are pretty unique and the sauces are extremely flavorful. The quality is strong and the service is even stronger. Highly recommended.

We went to Diamond Jamboree Plaza and not feeling anything else. Not too bad here. Great service, good food. Just something was missing, I don't know what...so it's A-OK! I wouldn't be craving for this spot, nothing special.

Second time here. decor is very nice, a little too chilly for me. waiters are nice. i ordered (fake sushi: cooked only) the tiger roll: pretty good - i like, dynamite lobster roll: different since it's warm - yummy, and tokyo shoyu ramen: meh.. - no like. ended with the honey toast with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream: oh boy was that BOMBDEEZY!

    (4)
  • Joy D.

The only good thing here is their scallops or lobster dynamite roll. The rest is a mediocre japanese food. Get their rolls only on happy hour for good deals. If not, choose other restaurants in diamond jamboree.

Tokyo table gets 4 stars for the *ambience* *location* and *drinks* alone. The food on the other hand... go elsewhere. Sushi pizza? Really?

I came here recently with 4 of my friends during happy hour. I like the fact that they have happy hour 7 days a week (3:00~6:30), which is rare (we went on a Saturday). However, the happy hour seating is limited to the bar area. There were maybe 4, 5 tables total and the rest were counter seats. Luckily, we got there before the dinner rush so we were able to get a table after waiting for a few minutes. The service was terrible though. Although the staff was friendly when called, they were completely inattentive otherwise. The happy hour menu is limited too -- they stopped serving the various selection of yakitori although it's still on the menu. Overall, the food was good for Americanized Japanese cuisine (don't come here if you expect otherwise), and I'd come back again for happy hour (not regular dining).

Happy hour is awesome for the appetizers !! Great food for regular dinner service. Open late. Parking, well, good luck with that in the weekends. To go service is good and well packages to enjoy dinner at home.

The rolls were excellent and so were the cocktails. Fried whole squid was tasty too. The ambience suitably mellow. Small happy hour area though. Service was fast and friendly. Definitely better than mre's in the sandbox. Lol

  • M M.

Happy Hour on the weekend? During lunch? Okay, let's go! I always order Spicy Shrimp Summer Roll. The portion is tiny, no lie, so I take two. Drinks are good-- depending on my crew, I'll say yes to a pineapple Tokyo soda, lychee saketini, or sake bombs. Brick toast is blah, but sushi pizza, HELLO, delicious! It's not "real" Japanese food, so don't get mad at that.

Pros: -nice ambiance -polite staff -cleanliness is a must Cons: -food is very westernized -a bit on the pricier side -not too many traditional dishes to balance out the other foods In my opinion, the cons outweigh the pros. The food was alright in my opinion and used a little too much creamy ingredients. I would've rather liked to see more traditional foods to balance it out. I can understand that they were probably trying to appeal to a more American taste buds but it just wasn't doing it for me. Great selection of sake.

I love Tokyo Table! I come here after classes for the happy hour. (I'm under 21 so I'm talking about that cheap honey toast mhm). Ask for chocolate with the honey toast! They make it pretty with the ice cream. Yummm. I always get the curry ramen which is a combination of the best two things on the planet in my opinion. You can't go wrong with curry ramen! Also their udon is yummy. I'm very picky when it comes to udon but they definitely make some good udon. Their tofu actually made me start liking tofu and I eat it a lot now! Overall, good food, good atmosphere, good waiters. Love this place!

For the price they charge, I was expecting rather high-quality food. However, I think it ended up just average. We ordered a Unagi Bowl, a OMG roll, a Kids meal, plus some drinks. Unagi Bowl was good, but not surpassing my expectations. The OMG roll was your typical Americanized sushi. The kids meal was consistent in quality with kids meals in other places, which was LOW. I guess by conspiring to do this, the restaurant industry keeps kids' expectations for food lower, therefore making their future job easier. Our drinks came in plastic containers that looked and felt pretty gross. For the price here, I was expecting glasses made from glass. I would say the food and drinks we got were Ok, but not what one would expect for such a price. The service was good, but when the check came, there was a hand written "20% tip = ..... :)" on the customer copy of the credit card receipt. ... then, I googled, and learned that, in fact, 20% has become the new standard for tipping in many places.

I have tried many sushi places and this place is only ok. With the same price, i can find so many other places with much better sushi quality. The only sushi thing i like from here is sushi pizza

Overall, this place was just okay. I wouldn't mind coming back if my friends wanted to eat here, but it's not going to be my first choice. Assorted Star Sashimi Plate Felt like sashimi was overpriced for its quality OMG Roll and Dynamite Roll These were pretty good (but rolls are rolls, I think they're hard to go wrong) Takoyaki Compared to other takoyakis that I've eaten, these were smaller in size. Just average (or a little below average) but this doesn't mean they tasted bad. This actually might have been my favorite dish tonight. Sushi Pizza Not bad, but I was a little too full by the time I got to it and it was a little too spicy for me. At first, it sounds novel - like, "sushi pizza?" - but it's just rice, crab mix, onions, some sauce, jalapenos, etc on seaweed paper. It's kind of like an unrolled roll cut into square pieces. Service was good - nothing to complain about.

I went with my 8 friends after going to the movie theater and we all told our waitress that we needed individual checks because they don't split checks.. they started bringing in our food about 30 minutes later 1 and a half later my friend and I still needed our food.. He finally got his but they forgot mine. I kept telling them that i still needed mine and all they said was its coming. Everyone was done eating and I told the waitress to forget about it and she went to find out what happened, she said they never made it. This wasn't the first time they had messed up or gave us a hard time about splitting our orders, but we kept giving the place chances. We spoke with the owner and all he said was 'well you're welcome to leave, or pick another sushi place.' Worst service ever.

Fabulous! This was my second visit to this restaurant and the experience just gets better. I always have great service and better yet great food! They have traditional Japanese dishes as well as dishes with a little modern twist giving it just the right kick. I always order a crunchy roll for my sushi, but this time at the recommendation of my waitress... i went out of my comfort zone and tried something new. She listened to what I like and dislike about different foods and gave me great recommendations and they were all a hit! So far I can recommend the following dishes Crunchy Roll (of course and it was great!) ** Bacon Wrapped Asparagus - who doesn't love bacon Lobster Crunch Roll ** - california roll with large lobster pieces on top Albacore Tuna on Crispy Rice - my first at albacore and crispy rice! Botan Ebi Nigiri Sushi (sweet shrimp) Cinnamon Honey Toast ** - make sure you spread out the ice cream... this is a huge dessert, everyone get's it and you'll be dying to try it for yourself. ** Must haves! Plus! Happy Hour till 6pm AND a second Happy Hour after 10pm! What makes this place stand out... you can tell they care. From the bussers to the waiters to the manager... great service makes for a great experience.

I stopped by here for a cheap lunch with a friend and service was fantastic! We probably had four different waiters come over and talk with us, make jokes and to see how we were enjoying their meal. I ordered the summer roll and a side salad which is just enough food for under $10! I would make an effort to come here just to talk with the staff, but the fact that they have good and unique food certainly doesn't hurt!

Happy hour from 10 to closing. Had bacon wrap asparagus $4, grilled beef wrap around asparagus $4, and chicken dynamic with toast for $4 also. Can't complain. Drinks are good. Festive atmosphere.

I LOVE this place! They have a sister restaurant in Hawaii (Shokudo) and that place is amazing as well. The sushi is great and so is there Unagi rice!! The must have for dessert is the honey toast. I always have to save room for that. Service is great and it usually does not take long for the food to come. It's best to call for reservations ahead of time, even if you'll be going that same day just in case it gets busy.

The food at tokyo table is nothing special. Despite this, I do end up frequenting the place a lot. Their weekend happy hour (11:30pm-2am) is a great deal with 50% off sushi rolls, and cheap drinks and appetizers. It's a go-to for whenever a big group of my friends want to hang out, especially because of the location (DJ Plaza). If it wasn't for their happy hour, I don't think I'd come too often. Service is always pretty good though. If I do have to recommend something, it would be the cohiba roll, beef covered green onions, and honey brick toast!

  • Julie N.

Brick Toast is amazing!! The bread is cut into cubes inside the bread toast but the crust isn't but that's okay.... the good stuff is inside the bread with vanilla ice cream! The dinner bentos are really good and filling. Shared one combo with a choice of two: Chicken Katsu and Chicken Karaage. Both were very good and I hope to try the others: Salmon, Teriyaki Beef, etc. Lobster Crunch Roll is my absolute favorite! There is a lot of lobster on top and you can share the sushi with a group. A bit expensive for one dish but really worth it! Recommend ordering this one. The lobster was so good! The menu has a lot to choose from and I hope to come back to try more delicious food.

I came here for happy hour with my roommates. We all got drinks and some of ours didn't taste that great. I got a mango saketini and only took a few sips. But it's ok their appetizers and sushi made up for it. The food was decent. There are not many options when it comes to satisfying a craving for sushi at 11pm. However, I don't like their policy of how each person must order a drink to get the happy hour deals on appetizers. I don't think I will be back in the near future unless I REALLY want sushi late at night.
